I Ditched My Sad Speech and We Still Raised One Million Dollars!
For years, Skylar’s speech at the Live Like Sam Gala had one job: make the room cry right before the paddle raise. This year, three days before the event, she threw it out. After her October 1st episode, full of funny stories about her brother Sam, reminded her (and so many listeners) who he really was, the sad version didn’t feel true anymore. So she asked Harry for his favorite Sam stories, rewrote the whole speech in 30 minutes, and put a photo of Sam mooning the audience on the big screen. That night, Live Like Sam raised $1 million for the first time.
