- 2:16Speaker 1: It's National Vinyl Record Day. I've always thought vinyl was
- 2:19Speaker 1: really really cool. I'd like to know do you own
- 2:23Speaker 1: any vinyl? If you do, what do you own? What's
- 2:27Speaker 1: your favorite vinyl record that you own? So how are
- 2:31Speaker 1: you listening? Where are you listening from? Do you own
- 2:33Speaker 1: some vinyl? Let's go we'll we'll take it back to
- 2:37Speaker 1: Bebop days or even before that. How is b bop
- 2:41Speaker 1: such an iconic cool record store? Man, you walked in
- 2:48Speaker 1: there in nineteen eighty three, I mean you could just
- 2:52Speaker 1: you thought you were Michael Jackson or the Rolling Stones, right,
- 2:56Speaker 1: are you two? I mean you thought you were Bono. Wow.
- 3:01Speaker 1: That place now they had that snob effect thing too,
- 3:05Speaker 1: So you know, kind of like when you run into
- 3:07Speaker 1: somebody who wants to break down craft beer to another spot,
- 3:10Speaker 1: like you're like elon talking about rockets. I'm like, dude,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I just like craft beer. Just poured me one. Do
- 3:16Speaker 1: you have any nachos? Bring those? We're all good. If
- 3:19Speaker 1: you can give me ten seconds on the beer, that's perfect,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you know, eight minutes. Maybe a little too much, right,
- 3:28Speaker 1: But you know that group was serious, and there were
- 3:34Speaker 1: the people who worked there. You know, I think about
- 3:37Speaker 1: it now, ten years old, in nineteen eighty three, I
- 3:40Speaker 1: think about it now. You know it was a groovy
- 3:43Speaker 1: place playing cool music with an insane collection because we
- 3:47Speaker 1: didn't have it on here in Jackson, Mississippi. But like
- 3:53Speaker 1: those the people who worked there were considered. I mean,
- 3:56Speaker 1: even though some of them were kind of snobby rudy,
- 3:59Speaker 1: but Verry, you know, dialed into their craft of music,
- 4:05Speaker 1: and of course MTV then kicked in, and that made
- 4:07Speaker 1: Bebops and others even bigger and more powerful for a
- 4:11Speaker 1: few years, right before other things gobbled them up. But
- 4:16Speaker 1: they were they were kind of celebrities, kind of like
- 4:20Speaker 1: the bar. You know, this was at a time when
- 4:22Speaker 1: there wasn't a lot going on in this in this town,
- 4:24Speaker 1: in the state I talked about. It was a tumbleweed
- 4:26Speaker 1: town in nineteen eighty three and eighty five, much less
- 4:29Speaker 1: seventy two and nineteen seventy. But like celebrities. If you
- 4:36Speaker 1: worked at the Dock, you were I mean, if you
- 4:38Speaker 1: were a bartender at the dock, you were a celebrity.
- 4:40Speaker 1: If you worked at Bebop, even though you know, you
- 4:43Speaker 1: didn't necessarily make a ton of money, but it was
- 4:45Speaker 1: like a cool factor, you know, Does that make sense.
- 4:50Speaker 1: That's what I thought about when I saw Vinyl Records
- 4:52Speaker 1: this morning, when I was on the h on the
- 4:55Speaker 1: shake plate. And then people do have been collecting and
- 4:58Speaker 1: some people have these just dot com iconic albums in
- 5:02Speaker 1: their library or portfolio or whatever their music room and
- 5:06Speaker 1: and so on. You know, you can find us on
- 5:10Speaker 1: X at bow Bounds find us on X at Bo
- 5:13Speaker 1: Bounds and the michelob Ultra. No, we'll go craft beer,
- 5:20Speaker 1: very drinkable Mississippi Queen Mississippi from Key City in Vicksburg,
- 5:24Speaker 1: straight just like Jay Meadows is straight out of Clinton.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Jack Boudois is straight out of Vicksburg, and so is
- 5:30Speaker 1: Key City Beer. Now they got a brewery and restaurant there,
- 5:33Speaker 1: which is really really cool. We'll broadcast there for sobab.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I think Jack moved it to a September maybe around
- 5:42Speaker 1: their Octoberfest or something. I'm not sure. I'll have to
- 5:45Speaker 1: go look at the deal. But we'll broadcast from there
- 5:48Speaker 1: again this year, which is a ton of fun and
- 5:52Speaker 1: you have a good time. But Key City, Misterssippi, that's
- 5:57Speaker 1: their Pilsner. The collar line is six. So won seven
- 6:01Speaker 1: zero seven thirty seven fifty. Unnamed Texter says Bo. Why
- 6:06Speaker 1: do you think Kurt Signetti is the number one coach
- 6:08Speaker 1: in college football? Well, so, I know, he only won
- 6:11Speaker 1: a I mean one national championship, but he did it
- 6:15Speaker 1: in Indiana and he's been the back to back college
- 6:17Speaker 1: football Playoffs. It took him about thirty seconds to rebuild
- 6:22Speaker 1: the program. He actually took the job, which is what
- 6:25Speaker 1: some other coaches should have done. He actually took the
- 6:28Speaker 1: job and totally focused on the portal his first recruiting
- 6:31Speaker 1: class instead of running around trying to sign a high
- 6:34Speaker 1: school class. And remember he brought thirteen players from James
- 6:39Speaker 1: Madison with a year one and nine of them started,
- 6:43Speaker 1: which is what I mean. I thought, you know Dan Mullens, Well,
- 6:49Speaker 1: Kiffin's the best head coach to ever come through the
- 6:51Speaker 1: state of Missippian football. Dan mullen is the best evaluator's
- 6:55Speaker 1: ever come through the state of Mississippi in college football. Well,
- 6:59Speaker 1: how good is Kurt Signetti if he was able to
- 7:02Speaker 1: identify those players at James Madison that were able that
- 7:05Speaker 1: were capable of playing in the Big ten?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Mean?
- 7:08Speaker 1: How good is your eye? And how good are you at?
- 7:12Speaker 1: You know, getting guy again? The right seats we talk
- 7:15Speaker 1: about all the time, but it's easier said than none.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I mean, high school coaches right now are trying to
- 7:21Speaker 1: figure out how to get They've already got the guys,
- 7:23Speaker 1: but where do they need to go on the bus?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Where do people what does the seating chart need to
- 7:30Speaker 1: look like for us to win on ifense, defens and
- 7:33Speaker 1: special teams. That's what Golding and Levy are talking about
- 7:36Speaker 1: this morning in the football building. Both are in the
- 7:39Speaker 1: building right now, as y'all are maybe grabbing a bagel
- 7:44Speaker 1: from Big O'bagel in Madison or some coffee from here
- 7:50Speaker 1: somewhere is they're thinking about the seating chart. Who needs
- 7:56Speaker 1: to be on the front row, who needs to be
- 7:59Speaker 1: on the third row, who needs to be back there
- 8:02Speaker 1: guarding the bathroom? Well, I mean, know what do we
- 8:05Speaker 1: do here? And and I think that's what made you
- 8:10Speaker 1: know it's a it's just moving chess pieces around, which
- 8:14Speaker 1: is fun. NFL is doing the same thing. You know,
- 8:17Speaker 1: they'll come down a handful of players to and I
- 8:20Speaker 1: know it drives the front office crazy. They're like, you know,
- 8:24Speaker 1: it comes down you're splitting hairs, but like who do
- 8:27Speaker 1: you keep and who do you cut? Right? Because then
- 8:30Speaker 1: that guy goes somewhere else and all of a sudden
- 8:33Speaker 1: you see in game four Because in the NFL, I
- 8:35Speaker 1: mean it's a whisk. All these guys are good, right,
- 8:37Speaker 1: even the guys who get cut at the end. The
- 8:39Speaker 1: guys who get cut at the end are you don't know,
- 8:41Speaker 1: they may end up somewhere else and start for five years. Yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 1: I got Kurt Signetty, Lane Kiff and Kirby Smart and
- 8:51Speaker 1: h I tell you who's knocking on the door, and
- 8:56Speaker 1: the stars line up for him, kind of like Lane
- 8:59Speaker 1: Kiff in the last two years as that old miss
- 9:00Speaker 1: schedule wise, the scheduling gods look down at Marcus Freeman
- 9:05Speaker 1: and Notre Dame y'all they did. I'm looking at the
- 9:08Speaker 1: schedule right here. I think Jackson and I, who don't
- 9:11Speaker 1: know anything, could go eight and four with this schedule
- 9:15Speaker 1: and we could be talking about craft beer and pizza
- 9:18Speaker 1: on the headsets during the game, and Jackson would be
- 9:23Speaker 1: hitting on, you know, people in the stands. We're live
- 9:27Speaker 1: in the Bank Plus Studio back in a seconds from Warncott.
- 9:45Speaker 1: We are the Out of Bounds Show ESPN oneh five down.
- 9:49Speaker 1: The Zone Show is brought to you by Taste Italian
- 9:52Speaker 1: Kitchen and the Renaissance in Ridgeland and Taste Italian Kitchen
- 9:57Speaker 1: and Starbull. They're about to open open up their brand
- 10:01Speaker 1: new outdoor area which is covered and temperature controlled. I
- 10:07Speaker 1: don't know if anything's ever been built like this, but
- 10:10Speaker 1: Taste Italian Kitchen dot com. It's going to open in
- 10:14Speaker 1: the next week or so and it's right here in
- 10:17Speaker 1: Ridgland right down Highland Colony. You'll want to check it out.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It's basically another restaurant this right beside it, and I
- 10:25Speaker 1: don't know what they're gonna call it, but I know
- 10:28Speaker 1: outdoor kitchen bar, the whole thing, but temperature controlled, so
- 10:32Speaker 1: it can be one hundred and ten degrees outside or
- 10:34Speaker 1: twenty degrees outside and you'll be just fine in there
- 10:39Speaker 1: having a wood fired pizza or some fried ravioli taste.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Italian Kitchen dot com we want to welcome in. Steve
- 10:45Speaker 1: robertson Mississippi State football insider Jeans Page dot com two
- 10:49Speaker 1: four seven sports. Steve, what is the latest on some
- 10:54Speaker 1: players possibly coming back because of the rulings in the
- 10:59Speaker 1: court Forsissippi State?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Well, really, not a lot has changed other than the
- 11:05Speaker 2: fact that the league Sela and Jeron Manning have returned
- 11:08Speaker 2: to campus that they are not eligible to participate. Now.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Of course, there's some state courts out there that may disagree,
- 11:16Speaker 2: but the SEC for the most part, is kind of
- 11:19Speaker 2: waiting out this appeal in the Tenth Circuit Appellate Court
- 11:23Speaker 2: on a federal level, and so that's where things stand.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And yeah, nobody should expect much soon, but there was
- 11:32Speaker 2: some chatter that maybe we'd get an answer on the
- 11:36Speaker 2: expedited request for a stay, but that looks like it's
- 11:40Speaker 2: going to leak in the next week and then then
- 11:42Speaker 2: we'll see what happens from there.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Okay, when do you expect this to happen in the
- 11:47Speaker 1: next what's the timeline?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Well, next week. I think next week we'll get So basically,
- 11:54Speaker 2: what the NCAA has done is there was a two
- 11:58Speaker 2: prong motion, right they filed within the district court with
- 12:03Speaker 2: jud Charlotte tweeting, but they went ahead and filed that
- 12:07Speaker 2: expedited appeal to the Tenth Circuit, and so they're basically
- 12:11Speaker 2: just trying to get everything overturned. And you know, they're
- 12:15Speaker 2: you know, the experts are kind of mixed on what
- 12:17Speaker 2: would happen here. And from what I've gathered from talking
- 12:21Speaker 2: to you know, Tom Mars and some other people and
- 12:23Speaker 2: reading what they have to say, is that, you know,
- 12:25Speaker 2: the Tenth Circuit is one of those appellate courts that
- 12:29Speaker 2: kind of favors the status quo, and so it'll be
- 12:32Speaker 2: interesting to see kind of how this anti trust case
- 12:35Speaker 2: is viewed.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So that'll be interesting and we'll see
- 12:44Speaker 1: how that plays out. All Right, As far as what
- 12:48Speaker 1: you've heard about football practice, what's the most exciting thing
- 12:56Speaker 1: that you've heard in the last couple of days around
- 12:58Speaker 1: the Mississippi State football program.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Well, you know, we've had a chance to take in
- 13:03Speaker 2: little practice too, And the first thing that I would
- 13:05Speaker 2: say is that, you know, last year they took a
- 13:08Speaker 2: step forward on the roster and on the one deep
- 13:11Speaker 2: side they look like an SEC team, But as you
- 13:14Speaker 2: guys saw as the year went on, you know, the
- 13:16Speaker 2: depth really wasn't there. This team appears to have more depth.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And well, last year when you had an injury on
- 13:22Speaker 2: the offensive line, that the game was racked, right, I
- 13:25Speaker 2: don't think that's the case at this point. They look
- 13:28Speaker 2: a lot more physical. They're certainly going to be very
- 13:31Speaker 2: speedy at the wide receiver position, and I think that's
- 13:34Speaker 2: probably always the case under Jeff Leby. I mean, you
- 13:38Speaker 2: get back to back all SEC receivers, and for the
- 13:41Speaker 2: first time in forever, you have a receiver drafted to
- 13:44Speaker 2: the National Football League, and so they're going to be
- 13:47Speaker 2: able to make plays down the field. You know, the
- 13:50Speaker 2: real question is going to be can they protect at
- 13:52Speaker 2: a higher level? And I think the early return suggests
- 13:55Speaker 2: they should be able to okay.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So you have confidence that the offensive line can be
- 14:04Speaker 1: at least solid for Mississippi State.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think if you're Jeff Leby, I mean
- 14:10Speaker 2: to be solid is you know, light years of where
- 14:14Speaker 2: you were last year in the last six weeks of
- 14:16Speaker 2: the season. You know, I think that's the whole thing.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Would leave when you've got a quarterback and you're trying
- 14:22Speaker 2: to make plays down the field. You got a guy
- 14:24Speaker 2: with a big arm to get it there. You just
- 14:25Speaker 2: got to give you some time. And that left tackle
- 14:28Speaker 2: position last year was it's an unmitigated disaster much of
- 14:31Speaker 2: the year, especially once you got out of the month
- 14:33Speaker 2: of September. And one of the things that I think
- 14:36Speaker 2: a lot of people maybe tend to forget Mississippi State's
- 14:40Speaker 2: defense got exposed in the second half of that Arizona
- 14:43Speaker 2: State game, but then you didn't play anybody for about
- 14:46Speaker 2: a month that had the ability to exploit that weakness. Well,
- 14:50Speaker 2: the back half of the season, everybody played had the
- 14:53Speaker 2: ability to exploit that weakness. And so what Zach Arnett's
- 14:58Speaker 2: task will be is to kind of eight havoc. And
- 15:01Speaker 2: you know Coleman huts or had this whole read and
- 15:03Speaker 2: react defense with some guys the time to marginal SEC players.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I think Jack Barnett's got obviously you more to work with,
- 15:11Speaker 2: but also I think schematically he's well ahead of what
- 15:14Speaker 2: do you think Colman will put on the field.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Steve robertson Jean's page dot com two four seven sports,
- 15:21Speaker 1: he joins us on the Farm Bureau Insurance guest line. Okay,
- 15:27Speaker 1: so offense, you feel like the offensive line will be
- 15:32Speaker 1: at least a little bit better, and now you've got
- 15:34Speaker 1: a quarterback who can run. So when you combo that,
- 15:38Speaker 1: the defense will actually have to stay somewhat honest and
- 15:41Speaker 1: can't just focus on the tailback. I mean that I
- 15:46Speaker 1: don't even know. We can't really quantify that, but that
- 15:48Speaker 1: should help. Let's go in the defensive line. What what
- 15:55Speaker 1: are you hearing about what Zach Arnett actually has to
- 15:58Speaker 1: work with?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Yeah, this is where I think the mileague see what think?
- 16:03Speaker 2: It's interesting, you know because in the Jeff Levy era,
- 16:06Speaker 2: state has really struggled to get an edge out of
- 16:08Speaker 2: the portal. Well, you get a Mariy Wigams in Florida
- 16:11Speaker 2: State who is a freak, right, But that's because of
- 16:15Speaker 2: a pre existing relationship with Zack Arnett. Now, Zach, that's
- 16:18Speaker 2: gonna take credit for that, but you know, familiarity certainly
- 16:22Speaker 2: helped in that respect. But yeah, Dray Jenkins has a
- 16:25Speaker 2: guy that has done some things and uh, you know
- 16:28Speaker 2: the that looks good. I mean, it's you know, they're
- 16:30Speaker 2: gonna have some guys out there that our net can
- 16:33Speaker 2: work with. And it's not going to be a situation
- 16:36Speaker 2: where it's gonna rush for as you know from the
- 16:39Speaker 2: you know, the four years that Zack Arnett was here. Uh,
- 16:44Speaker 2: they're gonna start blitzing the pregame warm ups and if
- 16:47Speaker 2: you get them, you get them. But it's not gonna
- 16:48Speaker 2: be a situation where they're gonna let you dictate terms
- 16:51Speaker 2: and just kind of talking to players. Defensive players have
- 16:55Speaker 2: an attack first mentality. They don't want to be on
- 16:58Speaker 2: their heels. They want to be out in front, right,
- 17:00Speaker 2: They want to go get the quarterback. They're want to
- 17:02Speaker 2: go chase the football, and so it's difficult to prepare
- 17:06Speaker 2: for all of the slants and exotic fires that they
- 17:11Speaker 2: run stuff. And so the kids have really embraced this
- 17:14Speaker 2: and even the guys that are returners will tell you
- 17:16Speaker 2: this is a lot more fun to play.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Steve Robertson on the Out of Bounds Show, a listener
- 17:23Speaker 1: wanted to know we've got a minute here, Steve Braylan Womack,
- 17:26Speaker 1: what are your expectations this year?
- 17:29Speaker 2: I think he ends up being a too deeper and
- 17:31Speaker 2: you by the end of the year because he is
- 17:33Speaker 2: so athletic, I think he'll get a lot of playing time.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But you know, Kendall Bowlby and Jordan Gilbert are really
- 17:38Speaker 2: good players. And I think that's the thing that maybe
- 17:42Speaker 2: people need to prepare themselves for is even if Jerry
- 17:44Speaker 2: Manning gets approved, there's a possibility that States recruited over right,
- 17:50Speaker 2: and that's.
- 17:51Speaker 1: A which is a good thing.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Too deeper and so and that's a good thing. Right
- 17:56Speaker 2: if Geron Manning is too deeper and he was your
- 17:58Speaker 2: primary safety last year, that you've done really will in
- 18:00Speaker 2: the portal.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Okay, so again, thirty seconds to a minute, they believe
- 18:07Speaker 1: that they've actually hit on more guys in the portal
- 18:09Speaker 1: on both sides of the ball.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's the belief today. But until we
- 18:15Speaker 2: get on the grass and play an actual opponent, it's
- 18:17Speaker 2: pubs to really no. But I can just tell you
- 18:21Speaker 2: from a looks standpoint, You're watching those Scatos get out
- 18:23Speaker 2: there and run around a little bit. It looks different,
- 18:26Speaker 2: you know, And that's what both our fans want to know. Right,
- 18:29Speaker 2: They're just so tired to count in games, you know,
- 18:31Speaker 2: and hoping with good bold Right. Yeah, this is a
- 18:34Speaker 2: team that should be able to do that.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Okay, we'll do this again for a longer segment next week.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Steve stick Care Steve joined us on the
- 18:44Speaker 1: Farm Bureau Insurance guest line. We are the out of
- 18:47Speaker 1: Bounds Show one oh five nine. The Zone ESPN, the
- 18:50Speaker 1: new outdoor area, Tastes Italian Kitchen and the Renaissance will
- 18:54Speaker 1: open in the next week or so. It's going to
- 18:57Speaker 1: be state of the art. It's going to absolutely beautiful.

- 20:54Speaker 3: beach on the tap. I was going to call in.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Let's just do our you know, let's do our weekly
- 21:00Speaker 3: hit from the beach.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You know, hey, did your you have four boys?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Right?
- 21:06Speaker 1: Uh?
- 21:06Speaker 3: Yeah? I have a fifth on the way of this
- 21:08Speaker 3: month too, By the way, so we're getting even crazier
- 21:11Speaker 3: over here.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I thought we had a v sectomy conversation a while back.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I didn't listen.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Oh okay, all right, So so you're now going to
- 21:20Speaker 1: have a basketball team. Uh you've got four what? Uh like?
- 21:26Speaker 1: How how much energy did you exert on a daily
- 21:30Speaker 1: basis having four boys at the beach step.
- 21:34Speaker 3: So it's actually good because they all play with each other,
- 21:37Speaker 3: so they all entertain each other. They're at the stage where,
- 21:40Speaker 3: you know, in the neighborhood here too, they run off
- 21:42Speaker 3: and play baseball with their friends. It's actually good. They're
- 21:45Speaker 3: all entertaining each other. Now we're gonna reset things with
- 21:47Speaker 3: the baby that the baby's gonna need all the energy.
- 21:50Speaker 3: At this point, I think, all.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Right, let's let's get into some minute. I got to
- 21:56Speaker 1: ask you about breeze for I cannot By the way, congratulations,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I mean, do you do you is it a do
- 22:03Speaker 1: you know if it's a boy or a girl.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's another boy.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Unbelievable good boys. All right, so you do have a
- 22:11Speaker 1: basketball team. Okay, let's go to Drew Brees in the
- 22:15Speaker 1: modern era. I mean, let's just say in the two thousands,
- 22:18Speaker 1: from two thousand to today, is Drew Brees without a
- 22:24Speaker 1: doubt a top five QB for you?
- 22:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean I always I always look at
- 22:29Speaker 3: this era as I mean, Mahomes will start to change
- 22:32Speaker 3: things a little bit, or Josh Allen, you know, might
- 22:35Speaker 3: be able to change things a little bit. But I
- 22:36Speaker 3: always look at that era as Brady Manning, Rogers, and Brees,
- 22:40Speaker 3: and I think they were always the four elite quarterbacks.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I think they were a step above the other tiers
- 22:48Speaker 3: of quarterbacks, you know, the Ben Roethlisberger's, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan,
- 22:51Speaker 3: Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson in that group. Matthew Stafford you know,
- 22:55Speaker 3: at points in his career because he's been around for
- 22:58Speaker 3: a while, but yeah, absolutely in that top echelon of
- 23:02Speaker 3: elite quarterbacks during that era. And yeah, it's good to
- 23:05Speaker 3: see him get the Hall of Fame accolades this weekend.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Absolutely, if you could pinpoint one thing that separated him
- 23:13Speaker 1: or made him special, Drew Brees. What would it be
- 23:17Speaker 1: for you, Steve, So.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I'll give you. I'll give you two answers here, because
- 23:21Speaker 3: a lot of people would just say the accuracy and
- 23:24Speaker 3: completion percentage is not necessarily a proxy for accuracy. But
- 23:28Speaker 3: in Breeze's case, I think it was so the high
- 23:30Speaker 3: completion percentage, the fact that he was pinpoint, everything was
- 23:35Speaker 3: well timed, well placed. I think that would be the
- 23:37Speaker 3: first thing. I'll give you the other one. A few
- 23:40Speaker 3: years back, when I was at PFF, we started to
- 23:42Speaker 3: chart different things and tried to say, okay, where are
- 23:45Speaker 3: the quarterback's eyes at the top of his dropback? Is
- 23:49Speaker 3: he looking to one side of the field and then
- 23:51Speaker 3: throwing it there? Is he starting on one side of
- 23:54Speaker 3: the field and then throwing it to the other side
- 23:55Speaker 3: of the field, in other words, getting to maybe a
- 23:57Speaker 3: second or third read. So we tried to chart that
- 24:00Speaker 3: just to see where how quarterbacks operated and to find
- 24:03Speaker 3: if there was any information there. And Breeze, when you
- 24:06Speaker 3: would chart him, everyone else would like get to the
- 24:08Speaker 3: top of the drop they'd look to the right and
- 24:10Speaker 3: then throw it, or they'd look back to the left.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Breeze would like break the way we were trying to
- 24:17Speaker 3: calculate this thing because his eyes were all over the place,
- 24:20Speaker 3: and it was like on purpose. So if he knew
- 24:23Speaker 3: he was going to throw to the right, he would
- 24:25Speaker 3: just give a little peak to the left. He just
- 24:27Speaker 3: give a little peak to the other side of the
- 24:29Speaker 3: field just in case. You know. It felt like, hey,
- 24:31Speaker 3: if you know, maybe there's a busted coverage or maybe
- 24:34Speaker 3: there's something I'm missing there. But he knew where he
- 24:36Speaker 3: was going. He would be able to see the whole field,
- 24:39Speaker 3: which most quarterbacks can't do. You know, they're locked into
- 24:41Speaker 3: one side and then they'd come all the way back
- 24:43Speaker 3: to the other. But he would see the whole field.
- 24:46Speaker 3: He would almost cheat a little bit with his eyes,
- 24:48Speaker 3: and it also keeps defenders off of him. That was
- 24:51Speaker 3: a really subtle thing I thought that Breeze did in
- 24:53Speaker 3: addition to the accuracy that helps make him so successful.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I love it. That's cool. Right there, we're talking and
- 25:00Speaker 1: about Drew Brees, his eyes, his vision and going through
- 25:03Speaker 1: his progressions. Brought to you by eyecare professionals and doctor
- 25:07Speaker 1: Kirk Jeffries with two locations on Lakeland Drive, the leader
- 25:10Speaker 1: in cataract surgery. All right, did anybody or maybe he
- 25:15Speaker 1: was tied. Was anybody during this era as good as
- 25:18Speaker 1: Breeze going through his progressions.
- 25:23Speaker 3: I mean, you look at Brady and Manning were obviously
- 25:26Speaker 3: at that at that type of level, but they all
- 25:28Speaker 3: did it differently, you know. I think this is a
- 25:31Speaker 3: good distinction. I think between those three guys. Rogers was
- 25:34Speaker 3: a little bit more physically talented as far as you know,
- 25:38Speaker 3: relied on his arm more than some of those other guys.
- 25:40Speaker 3: But I think Brady, Manning and Breeze were similar in
- 25:43Speaker 3: how they operate, how they got there, but like how
- 25:47Speaker 3: they operated, but how they got there was different. You know,
- 25:49Speaker 3: Peyton was the line of scrimmage Maestro where he's like, hey,
- 25:53Speaker 3: I've got two or three plays, and it was like
- 25:56Speaker 3: playing blackjack with with with Peyton, where it was, hey,
- 26:00Speaker 3: I know the odds that you're going to play too
- 26:02Speaker 3: high or cover two and because it's sixty percent, I'm
- 26:05Speaker 3: going to get to my too high beater or I'm
- 26:07Speaker 3: going to have a play where if you roll to
- 26:09Speaker 3: single high, I know where the answer is. I think
- 26:11Speaker 3: Breeze did that. You know, the eye manipulation and you
- 26:14Speaker 3: know the quick decidle, you know decisions, and I think
- 26:17Speaker 3: Brady was more more see it, confirm it, and then
- 26:21Speaker 3: let it go. So he knew Brady knew where to go.
- 26:24Speaker 3: But he likes to They liked a lot of option
- 26:27Speaker 3: routes in their offense. He'd liked to say, all right,
- 26:29Speaker 3: let me show me where you're going to go, receiver,
- 26:31Speaker 3: make sure we're on the same page, let me confirm it,
- 26:33Speaker 3: and then I'll zip it in there with accuracy. So
- 26:36Speaker 3: I think they all had that line of scrimmage mastery,
- 26:39Speaker 3: that post snap mastery. They all kind of got there
- 26:42Speaker 3: slightly different ways though, But those those three guys were
- 26:45Speaker 3: in a different league when it came to reading defenses,
- 26:47Speaker 3: knowing what they were doing, and and just always having
- 26:50Speaker 3: an answer to what the defense is through at them.
- 26:52Speaker 1: And then we talk. We're visiting with Steve Palzillo. He
- 26:55Speaker 1: had the NFL Podcast of the Year. He joins us
- 26:58Speaker 1: on the Farm Bureau Insurance guest line as we take
- 27:01Speaker 1: a look at and celebrate Drew Brees' career, brought to
- 27:05Speaker 1: you by Iecare Professionals and doctor Kirk Jeffries on Lakeland Drive. Soho,
- 27:12Speaker 1: you know, we talk about Sean and Drew together. When
- 27:18Speaker 1: you and your whether it's PFF or now, Steve, how
- 27:21Speaker 1: do y'all factor in whether or not you have a
- 27:23Speaker 1: big time coach during your playing days, Because Sean, I mean,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I think you would agree with this that Seawan is
- 27:31Speaker 1: one of the best play callers. May not be the best,
- 27:35Speaker 1: maybe that's Andy Reid, whatever, but Shawn's one of the
- 27:37Speaker 1: top ten or so play callers in the last twenty
- 27:40Speaker 1: five years in the NFL. Is that fair, Steve?
- 27:44Speaker 3: Oh? Absolutely, Look, it's NFL analysis is difficult at times
- 27:49Speaker 3: because the quarterback has such a big impact and you
- 27:52Speaker 3: don't get to see coaches with multiple quarterbacks all that often.
- 27:55Speaker 3: You know, Andy Reid had a lot of success before
- 27:58Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes, and then you get Mahomes that just takes
- 28:00Speaker 3: it to a new level. We've talked about Kyle Shanahan Aton.
- 28:03Speaker 3: He's had a lot of different quarterbacks, so you wouldn't
- 28:05Speaker 3: say are the most talented guys, and he gets production
- 28:07Speaker 3: out of all of them. Sean Payton, I think we're
- 28:09Speaker 3: just starting to learn more about how good he is though,
- 28:11Speaker 3: because he easily could have just been a product of
- 28:14Speaker 3: Drew Brees. And I think I'd like to live in
- 28:16Speaker 3: a world where two things can be true. Breeze is
- 28:18Speaker 3: a first ballot Hall of Famer and incredible, but he
- 28:20Speaker 3: also was paired with a great coach and Sean Payton,
- 28:23Speaker 3: and they were going together for a long time, right,
- 28:25Speaker 3: And Peyton's also proving, hey, when Breeze was hurt, he
- 28:29Speaker 3: can win with Teddy Bridgewater or Trevor Simeon or Jamis Winston.
- 28:33Speaker 3: And now he's proving that he can win with bo
- 28:34Speaker 3: Nicks and develop a rookie quarterback, you know, heading into
- 28:38Speaker 3: into year three. So we're learning more about Peyton because
- 28:41Speaker 3: you you know, when you have that many years, you know,
- 28:43Speaker 3: fifteen years with Drew Brees, it's like, well, can he
- 28:45Speaker 3: do it without Breeze as the head coach. And I
- 28:48Speaker 3: think Peyton is showing that he can do that. And
- 28:50Speaker 3: then yeah, Peyton was was really good. You know, he
- 28:53Speaker 3: had his his things that he leaned into big slot
- 28:57Speaker 3: receiver like Marcus Colston or you know, having a d
- 29:00Speaker 3: threat way back like at Debaree Henderson, or you know,
- 29:02Speaker 3: if he had Michael Thomas. All right, we're going to
- 29:04Speaker 3: work him over the middle of the field on short
- 29:06Speaker 3: stoff because his hands and route running are so good.
- 29:08Speaker 3: So I think Peyton was able to adjust to different styles,
- 29:11Speaker 3: but he was really good from a personnel perspective finding
- 29:14Speaker 3: players that fit into that offense to pair with Breeze,
- 29:16Speaker 3: and I think it was a great combination both guys.
- 29:19Speaker 1: What do you value more now that you've been doing
- 29:22Speaker 1: this for over a decade with the quarterback? I know
- 29:26Speaker 1: we love guys that can throw the deep ball and
- 29:28Speaker 1: exposive plays change the game and they flip the field.
- 29:32Speaker 1: But if you take a season start to finish step
- 29:37Speaker 1: like all seventeen games, do you value somebody who is
- 29:42Speaker 1: just a surgeon like Breeze, Manning and Brady that are
- 29:47Speaker 1: unbelievable gaming game out in the short and intermediate passing
- 29:51Speaker 1: game over someone who's high level. Some of them can
- 29:55Speaker 1: do it all. But the deep ball, how do you
- 29:57Speaker 1: see it? How do you chart it?
- 30:00Speaker 3: I think if your elite overall, I mean, if you
- 30:04Speaker 3: an elite is it's not making one throw or two throws,
- 30:07Speaker 3: it's doing it week after week. It doesn't it doesn't
- 30:11Speaker 3: matter how you get there. I don't think, Okay, I
- 30:13Speaker 3: would say you could make the case that like a
- 30:16Speaker 3: Mahomes or Allen or maybe Lamar who used their legs
- 30:19Speaker 3: as a lot more than Breeze, Brady Manning. The guys
- 30:23Speaker 3: who use their legs might not slump as much. You know,
- 30:26Speaker 3: if they're off throwing the ball, they could still pick
- 30:28Speaker 3: up sixty yards on the ground, or you know, you
- 30:31Speaker 3: have a keeper, scrambled drill, whatever it may be to
- 30:33Speaker 3: keep the defense off balance. You can make that argument.
- 30:36Speaker 3: But I used to I use the phrase all the
- 30:38Speaker 3: time back in the day, how do you attack Tom
- 30:41Speaker 3: Brady or how do you attack Drew Brees? Like what's
- 30:44Speaker 3: the game plan? Because it doesn't matter if you say, well,
- 30:47Speaker 3: let's take away this, well he could do that. You know,
- 30:50Speaker 3: you can't just take away the short stuff. They could
- 30:52Speaker 3: zip it up the sceam or throw the ball deep.
- 30:54Speaker 3: You can't just take away the deep stuff and build
- 30:56Speaker 3: dink and donkey to death all the way down the field.
- 30:58Speaker 3: So the best quarterbacks, I think the best offense is
- 31:02Speaker 3: the best quarterbacks just have answers. And I think all
- 31:05Speaker 3: those elite quarterbacks and you could throw Alan Mahomes into
- 31:08Speaker 3: that bucket, they have answers to whatever the defense is
- 31:12Speaker 3: throwing at you. And whether Breeze Brady Manning did it
- 31:16Speaker 3: stylistically different than a lot of today's quarterbacks. Yeah, that's
- 31:19Speaker 3: that's true. But they'd have plenty of success in today's
- 31:22Speaker 3: NFL just because the guy run a little bit more.
- 31:25Speaker 3: They would be perfectly fine. You know, they'd have no
- 31:27Speaker 3: problem reading defenses, finding the open man. So once you're
- 31:31Speaker 3: at that level and you don't have specific weaknesses, it's
- 31:34Speaker 3: so tough to game plan. And you just I used
- 31:36Speaker 3: to say, Look, how are you going to stop Drew Brees?
- 31:38Speaker 3: You hope he has an off day. You hope he
- 31:41Speaker 3: throws one into coverage. You hope that he misses a
- 31:43Speaker 3: couple throws. There's no specific game plan against those those
- 31:46Speaker 3: high end, elite quarterbacks.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Steve Alzola his show Check the Mic. He's had the
- 31:51Speaker 1: NFL podcast of the year. He joins us on the
- 31:54Speaker 1: Out of Bound Show, brought to you by I Care
- 31:56Speaker 1: Professionals and doctor Kirk Jeffries with two locations on Lake
- 32:00Speaker 1: and Dry. All right, let's switch gears here. Who's the
- 32:05Speaker 1: next guy? Who's the next quarter You mentioned Mahomes and
- 32:09Speaker 1: Josh Allen and those guys that we've blatched the last
- 32:12Speaker 1: could be five years, some going on almost ten for
- 32:19Speaker 1: Steve Palazola, Who's the next guy?
- 32:23Speaker 3: Steve, I think you have to look at the all
- 32:27Speaker 3: the thirty year quarterbacks. So like I when I look
- 32:31Speaker 3: at the quarterbacks, I got Mahomes, Allen maybe in their
- 32:34Speaker 3: own world. And Mahomes has a big test this year.
- 32:36Speaker 3: You know, if he has another mediocre year production wise,
- 32:39Speaker 3: it's like that's four straight and I know the situation
- 32:42Speaker 3: hasn't been what it was. But maybe he was slightly
- 32:45Speaker 3: overrated early in his career with Tyree Hill and Travis
- 32:48Speaker 3: Kelsey both in their prime. Maybe he's overrated statistically and
- 32:51Speaker 3: set this unrealistic standard and he's still great, and he's
- 32:56Speaker 3: still you know, got three super Bowls, but Mahomes and
- 32:59Speaker 3: Allen Lamar is going to do it a little a
- 33:01Speaker 3: little bit more consistently. The hell thing same with Burrow.
- 33:04Speaker 3: But I think the next quarterback you're looking at is,
- 33:07Speaker 3: you know, Justin Herbert always has this what if in him.
- 33:12Speaker 3: But the twenty twenty four draft class of Drake May,
- 33:16Speaker 3: Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels, I think you could make arguments
- 33:21Speaker 3: for any of those three quarterbacks being the best of
- 33:23Speaker 3: that class and or at least you know, going forward,
- 33:27Speaker 3: maybe not to this point. And then if Broncos fans
- 33:29Speaker 3: are listening to you, they'd start streaming at me that
- 33:32Speaker 3: bo Nix is there because he's got the most wins
- 33:34Speaker 3: and the most touchdowns.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I don't think he's there. I mean, I think he's
- 33:38Speaker 1: done a good job, but I don't think he's there. Step.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I'm just telling you. Broncos fans very sensitive because you
- 33:44Speaker 3: could pull. We live in a golden age where you
- 33:46Speaker 3: can find any stat to make your point no doubt,
- 33:48Speaker 3: and so they'll just say, well, he's got the most
- 33:50Speaker 3: touchdowns past a touchdown, so it's him, which is not
- 33:53Speaker 3: a good way of doing things. But you know, Drake
- 33:55Speaker 3: May was almost MVP last year in year two and
- 33:58Speaker 3: he might have even better weapons with AJ brant On
- 34:00Speaker 3: Romeo Dobbs. So Drake May has a chance to, you know,
- 34:03Speaker 3: put together another high end season and be in that mix.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels maybe had the best season out of all
- 34:10Speaker 3: those guys in his rookie year given the circumstances, taking
- 34:13Speaker 3: that team to the NFC Championship, and took a little
- 34:16Speaker 3: step back last year. It's got to get healthy, stay healthy.
- 34:19Speaker 3: But Jayden Daniels has all the ability in the world
- 34:22Speaker 3: to be a consistent, consistent star. And then Taylor Williams
- 34:25Speaker 3: made great strides last year. You know, throw for throw
- 34:28Speaker 3: might not be as good as those other guys who'll
- 34:29Speaker 3: miss a few too many for my liking. But man,
- 34:32Speaker 3: if he tightens up some of the quote easy stuff,
- 34:35Speaker 3: I mean, he was great last year at avoiding sacks,
- 34:37Speaker 3: the fourth quarter comebacks, the big time throws. Taylor blames,
- 34:40Speaker 3: extremely talented and moving in the right direction. I think
- 34:43Speaker 3: you have to look to that draft classes, you know,
- 34:45Speaker 3: having three potential stars in these in the coming years.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Here, well, all right, let's let's talk Joe Burrow show.
- 34:56Speaker 1: He's right there in your backyard. Is he really good
- 35:02Speaker 1: or great?
- 35:03Speaker 2: What?
- 35:04Speaker 3: How do we I think he can he can be great.
- 35:07Speaker 3: I mean, he's his accuracy is incredible and it is
- 35:10Speaker 3: tough to separate him. You know, if I'm gonna say, hey,
- 35:12Speaker 3: mahomes stats may have been inflated a little bit by
- 35:15Speaker 3: Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelsey. You do have Jamar Chase
- 35:18Speaker 3: and t Higgins. I mean, it's it's so helpful. Obviously,
- 35:24Speaker 3: you do have the thing working against Burrow is over
- 35:27Speaker 3: the last few years, you have Jake Browning coming in
- 35:29Speaker 3: and looking pretty good. You have Joe Flacco, almost forty
- 35:32Speaker 3: years old, coming in and looking pretty good with that
- 35:35Speaker 3: offense and making it look different. You know, Burrow plays
- 35:37Speaker 3: a different style. He likes to hold onto the ball,
- 35:39Speaker 3: puts a little more pressure on the offensive line. He's
- 35:42Speaker 3: big play hunting down the field. So I think he's
- 35:45Speaker 3: great and he's been I think, you know, some of
- 35:47Speaker 3: these things have come up because all they're not winning
- 35:49Speaker 3: as many games. It's like, yeah, they they're like zero
- 35:51Speaker 3: to four the last two years. When they score thirty
- 35:54Speaker 3: three points or more in a game, you know they're
- 35:57Speaker 3: losing forty to thirty eight and thirty seven to thirty five.
- 36:00Speaker 3: I mean, they're losing some ridiculous games where the offense
- 36:02Speaker 3: is doing their job and the defense has been one
- 36:05Speaker 3: of the league's worst, if not the worst, over the
- 36:06Speaker 3: last two years. So I think we'll see a better
- 36:08Speaker 3: Borrow this year. You know, I think they'll win a
- 36:10Speaker 3: lot more games. And I think he's squarely in that
- 36:13Speaker 3: top four mix when it comes to the best quarterbacks
- 36:15Speaker 3: in the NFL.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Would you like to see him go the Peyton Manning
- 36:22Speaker 1: Brady route and get the ball out of his hands
- 36:25Speaker 1: quicker the majority of the time.
- 36:26Speaker 3: See, I don't know if you saw what he was doing.
- 36:29Speaker 3: There's a flag football game that they were playing earlier
- 36:32Speaker 3: in the summer or late spring, whatever it was, and
- 36:35Speaker 3: he's like juking people in the backfield. He's playing like
- 36:38Speaker 3: a maniac in a flag football game. And it's like,
- 36:40Speaker 3: all right, that's the type of style that he might
- 36:43Speaker 3: need to tighten up a little bit at the NFL
- 36:45Speaker 3: level because he's had the same injury issues Lamar Jackson
- 36:49Speaker 3: has had, and they're weird injuries. You know, a wrist injury,
- 36:51Speaker 3: and you know, just some strange ones here, you know,
- 36:54Speaker 3: summer flukey, but some strange ones in there as well.
- 36:57Speaker 2: So he's got to stay healthy.
- 36:58Speaker 3: And if you if you just you know, five to
- 37:01Speaker 3: seven throws a game, we just get rid of it,
- 37:03Speaker 3: get rid of it, and then you do the big
- 37:06Speaker 3: play hunting on third and long when you really need to,
- 37:08Speaker 3: you know. So I think he's got to learn to
- 37:09Speaker 3: pick his spots. Aaron Rodgers had to deal with this
- 37:12Speaker 3: a lot during his career. He's incredibly mobile, like to
- 37:15Speaker 3: play outside of structure and had to tighten it up
- 37:18Speaker 3: just a little bit and find that balance. So I
- 37:20Speaker 3: think that's that balance is always needed I think for Borrow.
- 37:23Speaker 3: But yeah, he's gotta he's got to stay healthy, you
- 37:26Speaker 3: gotta gotta stay on the field.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no doubt. Steve Alozolo nfl Insadder on the
- 37:31Speaker 1: ATA Bound Show one oh five now of the Zoni ESPN.
- 37:35Speaker 1: He joins us on the Farm Bureau Insurance guest Line,
- 37:39Speaker 1: Okay show. What if Mahomes just has a pretty good
- 37:45Speaker 1: you mentioned, you know, the last three years have been
- 37:48Speaker 1: nothing close to that first chunk of years. What if
- 37:53Speaker 1: he just has a pretty good year this year, Steve.
- 37:57Speaker 3: I think I think it depends on how it happened.
- 38:00Speaker 3: The thing I'll be keeping an eye on. Mahomes has
- 38:02Speaker 3: always been magical at avoiding sacks, avoiding negative plays. We
- 38:09Speaker 3: know that he can do the special stuff and make
- 38:10Speaker 3: special throws and everything, but he hasn't won within structure
- 38:14Speaker 3: as much these last couple of years. And you could say,
- 38:16Speaker 3: well the receivers this or Andy Reid's getting old. I
- 38:18Speaker 3: don't know a lot of chiefs fans like to make
- 38:20Speaker 3: excuses there, but it hasn't been as good, and his
- 38:24Speaker 3: sack avoidance hasn't been as good, whether it's you know,
- 38:26Speaker 3: not reading coverage or just holding a tick late. His
- 38:30Speaker 3: ability to avoid pressure where he was always a magician
- 38:33Speaker 3: and maybe he's if he's lost half a step and
- 38:35Speaker 3: now he's coming off the knee injury. I'll be watching
- 38:37Speaker 3: that closely because those are you know, four or five
- 38:40Speaker 3: plays per game that he always made, and if you
- 38:43Speaker 3: take those away, then it's like, all right, you know,
- 38:45Speaker 3: he's you know, he's been like the tenth you know,
- 38:48Speaker 3: eight to tenth most productive quarterback the last few years,
- 38:51Speaker 3: depending on which measures you're using. So if that's four
- 38:54Speaker 3: straight years of that, that's that's something. Now, he always
- 38:57Speaker 3: has had the late game magic and you know, put
- 39:00Speaker 3: the team on his back even when he doesn't have
- 39:01Speaker 3: the best game, very brady like with that. So I
- 39:04Speaker 3: don't know that he'll lose that aspect of his game,
- 39:07Speaker 3: but the consistency and the dominance has taken a step back.
- 39:10Speaker 3: If you have four straight years of that, I think
- 39:12Speaker 3: that's that's alarming, you know, and we'll see how, you know,
- 39:16Speaker 3: the Chiefs deal with that going forward.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Would would you be shocked if Joe Burrow had a
- 39:23Speaker 1: better next five year run? Then?
- 39:27Speaker 2: No?
- 39:28Speaker 3: I know, we talked, we talked a couple of months back.
- 39:30Speaker 3: My biggest story for the next ten years, how do Mahomes,
- 39:33Speaker 3: Allen and Lamar Jackson progress into their thirties, how does
- 39:38Speaker 3: their playing style change? Do they remain healthy? Do they
- 39:41Speaker 3: only have five good years a piece? Can they do
- 39:43Speaker 3: it for ten? That last generation did not have to
- 39:46Speaker 3: rely on their legs like this generation does. How do
- 39:49Speaker 3: they change their game? And then Burrow would be the
- 39:51Speaker 3: one that could be most equippsed to do that. And
- 39:54Speaker 3: he needs to change his game as well, or at least,
- 39:56Speaker 3: you know, continue to hone it and tighten it up
- 39:58Speaker 3: a little bit. But no, I wouldn't be surprised. I
- 40:00Speaker 3: think Burrow has all the tools and the ability, and
- 40:03Speaker 3: as long as he stays healthy, I think he's He's
- 40:04Speaker 3: right there with all that the Big four?
- 40:06Speaker 1: Okay? And out of the new group, did you mentioned
- 40:12Speaker 1: Caleb Williams and Jade and Daniels, all those dudes? If
- 40:16Speaker 1: you had to bet a hundred bucks on who's going
- 40:18Speaker 1: to be the dude out of that group over the
- 40:23Speaker 1: next six to eight years, where would if you had
- 40:26Speaker 1: to put some money down today, which direction would you go?
- 40:29Speaker 2: Steve?
- 40:31Speaker 3: I would say Drake May. I think May has everything
- 40:35Speaker 3: you need. It was incredible in his second year MVP candidate.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I know he struggled a little bit in the playoffs,
- 40:40Speaker 3: but he was under a lot of pressure. If he
- 40:43Speaker 3: continues to improve, May's, May's in that mix for as
- 40:46Speaker 3: a top four or five quarterback. I think i'd take
- 40:48Speaker 3: him slightly above Jade and Daniels and Caleb Williams coming
- 40:51Speaker 3: coming up here.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Okay, this is going to be exciting and we'll do
- 40:59Speaker 1: more because you're going to join us just about every week.
- 41:02Speaker 1: And I've only got about a minute here or so
- 41:05Speaker 1: that do you do you look at this?
- 41:07Speaker 3: Uh?
- 41:07Speaker 1: The AFC and NFC is just wide open this year.
- 41:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I do at the top especially. I mean, you know,
- 41:14Speaker 3: there's some bad teams in both conferences, but the NFL
- 41:17Speaker 3: is doing a better job of keeping their own players.
- 41:19Speaker 3: I think there's a better roster building effort around the NFL.
- 41:23Speaker 3: And then last year, defenses were incredible, and I think
- 41:26Speaker 3: that leveled the playing field a little bit. It was
- 41:28Speaker 3: more of a defensive league last year than ever, and
- 41:30Speaker 3: I think we'll see another great season that is completely
- 41:33Speaker 3: wide open.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I love it. Hi, buddy, Hey, it was good to
- 41:36Speaker 1: hear your voice again. That means it's football season and
- 41:40Speaker 1: we're looking forward to you hanging out with us. Cool.
