Transcript
- 0:08Hello and welcome back to another episode of bands with
- 0:10Lorenzo. For today's episode is going to
- 0:12be a reaction video to some of the videos I've been watching
- 0:15online. Now, he a broad audience,
- 0:18Nigerians living in diaspora, both men and women.
- 0:22They've been complaining about their relationship.
- 0:24Like there are so many cases of marriage breakup divorce
- 0:29separation. Ins, and what have you?
- 0:32Now, the major thing that is happening is most men who go to
- 0:37Nigeria to marry wives, they bring them here with the, you
- 0:42know, one of the reasons why they go to Nigeria to Mario have
- 0:45let's start from there is because they feel that women in
- 0:49diaspora that their eyes, don't see a the ones women that they
- 0:54can control. They want you.
- 0:56Some of these were actually go to the villages to marry just
- 0:59made. Clear.
- 1:00So they don't want people that are exposed.
- 1:02They don't want women that can challenge The Authority, they
- 1:06want. They basically want to marry
- 1:08their mothers. Some of these people come from
- 1:10homes where they are father, their dad never did anything.
- 1:16They just sit down cross their legs, the women cook clean, take
- 1:20care of the kids. Some of these men all the see
- 1:23there that do is to provide for the family.
- 1:27And what we're talking about providing for the family is not
- 1:29like Like, you know, these men, they are bringing in truckloads
- 1:32of money. They are bringing the bare
- 1:34minimum the boats, they will not allow their wives to do
- 1:38something substantial because they feel that the men, our
- 1:44demand is supposed to be the breadwinner.
- 1:46So, regardless of the wife's qualification, most of these
- 1:49people actually make their wives housewife.
- 1:52So this is just a background to give you some kind of context
- 1:56where these men are coming from. So when they travel and they
- 1:59want to marry They look at women in diaspora mean these women are
- 2:03working any money. So they think, okay, I cannot
- 2:06control this one because it's in for them control is all about
- 2:11being the provider, to be the man is all about providing for
- 2:14the family and they look at this women and they're like, okay
- 2:16these women, they are already providing for themselves so I
- 2:20don't have that control over them.
- 2:22So what they do is they go back to Nigeria, they feel, you know,
- 2:25some of these would have traveled for a long time so they
- 2:28think They don't understand that this generation.
- 2:32Now, we grew up with social media, we see things on social
- 2:35media. So even if you're going to the
- 2:37Village to marry somebody, there is a 99% chance that this person
- 2:42has been on social media on Facebook and Instagram.
- 2:45They have seen the lifestyle so you thinking, okay, they are
- 2:49still raw unrefined or you know they goes let me just go to the
- 2:55villages to marry these people thinking they are going to have
- 2:57that control over them and They bring them here and these women
- 3:02are like thinking. I've been on social media have
- 3:04been on Facebook. I've seen that women come walk,
- 3:07women have rights and then you're trying to put them in a
- 3:09box. Some of these women, they don't
- 3:12agree with it. And most cases this bring a
- 3:15whole lot of abuse. Brings a whole lot of violence
- 3:20in the family and the marriage, the women.
- 3:23Some of them actually end up leaving the house because some
- 3:27of these women are not enlightened and And what they do
- 3:31is actually when they buried these women, they actually catch
- 3:33them and they don't allow them to mix.
- 3:36It will tell you, I don't go out with this remain in our product
- 3:38out, there are all these and they're older, they're all
- 3:41single mothers, they don't like family, they will cook up
- 3:44stories and give these women. So this women try to avoid
- 3:46people so when they actually go out there and see that things
- 3:51are not the way that their husbands are portraying them to
- 3:54be some of them go to shelter, leave the marriages, go to
- 3:57shelter. And from there start building
- 3:59the Lives. Some of these women you want the
- 4:02eye to catered and won't have children, they actually stay or
- 4:06maybe they met somebody who actually advise them.
- 4:09They stay fight for the properties.
- 4:11And, you know, when marriages and if you have children, the
- 4:15authorities are not just going to throw your wife and kids out
- 4:18of the house. Just because you're the one that
- 4:20bought the house, we are going to consider the kids first.
- 4:23So you the man is going to be the ones to leave the house.
- 4:26And some of these cases the been don't allow their wives It's
- 4:30work. So, even after leaving the
- 4:32house, the video want to be paying the rent or the mortgage.
- 4:36If that is the case and these men, they've been coming out on
- 4:40the big complaint, they've been complaining online or my wife
- 4:45kicked me out of the house or my wife.
- 4:47You know, I brought my wife from Nigeria and then now she has
- 4:51conniving people, single parents, they advise time and
- 4:55now she is not living in my house.
- 4:57Now, I am not living on the street while I am still.
- 5:00Paying the bills. I am still paying the rent.
- 5:02Like there's been so many videos now, I want to be fair because
- 5:07you know, we talked about men, not speaking out.
- 5:09We talk about men, always being quiet and boy, did mean talking,
- 5:15I think it's gotten to a point where I mean nobody.
- 5:19They like anybody. That is going to Nigeria right
- 5:22now to marry you wife thinking I am marrying.
- 5:27Somebody who's going to be? Submissive?
- 5:29I am. Marrying.
- 5:30Somebody who is a traditional African or Nigerian wife?
- 5:36It will shock you ego shock you because it's a globalized world.
- 5:40Every everything is happening. People stay on social media.
- 5:44And remember everybody in that Aspera is sharing their stories
- 5:48online on Instagram and Tick-Tock on Twitter or
- 5:51Facebook. So even if you think they don't
- 5:55know anything, the reality is they even know more than us
- 5:59because By the time you watch 56, people tell their stories.
- 6:03You in fact, you have more information that somebody that
- 6:06is just living in the, in, in diaspora, and just living on
- 6:10their own terms. Now, when this put all these
- 6:13stories together, they have an idea even more than some people
- 6:16in diaspora. So if some of these men are
- 6:19going back home to date on married, of course, they are
- 6:22going to be submissive at first because I mean, everybody now is
- 6:27trying to Jack my from Nigeria. So there's nobody That you're
- 6:30going to go and mix now. And I will tell you now know,
- 6:34basically, kiss your ass until you get married to them and on
- 6:38to bring them over now, listening to all this, you know,
- 6:41main complaint online. I can literally categorize them
- 6:44into two categories. The one that go to Nigeria to
- 6:48marry their wives, they take credit card in married them,
- 6:51bring them over. And what they want to do is for
- 6:54these women to actually help them pay off these bills.
- 7:00Because I mean, it's not cheap is not cheap going to Nigeria to
- 7:04marry a wife and bring them here or Mario husband and bring them
- 7:08here. So, as long as they're
- 7:09concerned, some of these women complain that these men, the
- 7:13work, and all they do is just to give this man, the paycheck and
- 7:17the man just give them maybe a hundred pound per month from
- 7:22their hard-earned money. But one thing they don't
- 7:25understand is it's not cheap to go.
- 7:30To Nigeria, marry somebody now, I think there's a breaking
- 7:33communication there because even if the man is telling the wife
- 7:38that he took some loan may be roughly 10,000 pounds, who
- 7:42process and documents and bring her over.
- 7:45And she needs to walk two pair of that to pay off that debt.
- 7:50That woman is not going to understand because according to
- 7:54how you live in Desperate, you should have the money to
- 7:57process. My documents.
- 7:58You should have the money to bring me.
- 8:00So, why am I coming to work and pay all these things.
- 8:04So resentment comes in in that aspect because as far as they're
- 8:08concerned, they are coming here to elevate their family
- 8:12situation. Help them, you know, work get
- 8:15money, sent back home. Just the way you've been doing
- 8:18since you're here. So everybody has an agenda,
- 8:21everybody has a plan. So if you're not marrying,
- 8:24Somebody's Daughter or somebody is sown, and then you're
- 8:27thinking that they are going to fit into your perfect plan.
- 8:30Of helping you pay out loans. It's not it's not going to work,
- 8:34it's not going. Unless you have a very
- 8:36understanding person, unless you've had a phone conversation
- 8:40with that person to let them understand.
- 8:43Even when you having an open conversation, do they understand
- 8:46most times people need to live through situations for them to
- 8:50really understand. It takes very few percentage of
- 8:53these people understand what the men or the women are trying to
- 8:58explain to them which Very few actually work through their
- 9:02differences and gets, you know, over the line.
- 9:05Now, the next category are men who come into this country that
- 9:10we do security. They've been doing Uber driving.
- 9:14They don't, they don't do anything beyond that.
- 9:17They work long hours, they work long shifts, you know, double
- 9:20shift triple shifts, just to get some money and during their
- 9:24younger years. Maybe these people coming when
- 9:27they wear in their mid 20s. Early 30s. 80s and now they're
- 9:31in their 40s and they realized that.
- 9:33Okay, I cannot do this for the rest of my life.
- 9:35I need somebody that's going to help me.
- 9:38So they go to Nigeria, damari younger women, they bring them
- 9:42here. The pay for they are not seen
- 9:44education. They go to school and once, and
- 9:48when they were doing all this, when women are going through
- 9:50this educational process, these men are still doing their Uber
- 9:53driving. This man has to do their
- 9:55security, they are not even ready to have any.
- 9:59Like, Themselves. As far as they are concerned,
- 10:02their wife is their retirement plan.
- 10:04So these women when they were going to all these schools, they
- 10:06are kind of second. Although yet they are still
- 10:09having children, they are taking care of the family.
- 10:12They're doing everything while the man.
- 10:14All his responsibility is just to go out there work and bring
- 10:18money wild woman is going to school working taking care of
- 10:21I'm issues doing a lot and these men will not even come back home
- 10:24to try and even help with the kitchen or help with the kids
- 10:28help. Some of these men would not even
- 10:31take their children to practice, because as far as they're
- 10:34concerned, that is your job, you know?
- 10:37And when these women actually go through all this, a get
- 10:40qualifications, start. Working this mind, still expects
- 10:45how to do all these things that she's been doing.
- 10:48And when she cannot do those things or what should require
- 10:51more from them, you know, how could your children or help with
- 10:56the food or help me clean? They are Has changed since she
- 11:01got the job so they walk in as the North or South, I walk in
- 11:04and I see she has changed. She no longer have respect since
- 11:10she bothering you. No vaccine.
- 11:11She's an any more than I am. She has changed, she did not
- 11:15change. You refuse to change.
- 11:18You refuse to move with time. And if that woman now decide to
- 11:22leave the house or, you know, because most of our most time
- 11:25what happens is when these women these men when they are working
- 11:29any money, The or the investment is going back to Nigeria, the
- 11:32not even thinking about the altitude, our children's future,
- 11:36how they're going to pay for education or they are busy
- 11:38paying for everybody. Back home, they are busy
- 11:40building houses. They are busy playing gods in
- 11:44Nigeria. So when these women, they see
- 11:46all these things, some of them even try to make their husbands
- 11:50invest. Some of them, we won't try to
- 11:52make their husband by properties, but this man will
- 11:54say, no, it is Nigeria. They are investing in Nigeria.
- 11:57They cannot combine invest in the, in the UK.
- 11:59Ah, so that they will have issues and then you wouldn't
- 12:03move out of the house. So, 90% of the time, the burden
- 12:06falls on the woman to save money and buy property because she
- 12:10knows the value of, you know, investing in diaspora.
- 12:14But these men, they know that if anything happens, there is more
- 12:18likely that the woman moved and the kids will be in the house,
- 12:23so they don't even want to do all these Investments.
- 12:24Now when the woman actually go to school, get or
- 12:27disqualification start Taking save money and get a mortgage.
- 12:33Of course, the money still going to be there.
- 12:36As long as his, I mean, the thing is this may not have his
- 12:39parents but when was it comes to mortgage, they feel entitled
- 12:44most of these men. What they complain about is the
- 12:47house is actually the house. Let's say if they were in a
- 12:50relationship and marriage and then they were renting a place
- 12:55and pain. You are paying bills, your pain,
- 12:58the reins They will not have any problem with that as long as
- 13:03everybody is just going empty-handed, they don't have
- 13:06issue with that. But once these women are able to
- 13:09save money getting mortgage and then you're still the bills.
- 13:13In fact, you're paying less Bill than you're going to pay when
- 13:16you're renting and then, you know, when that relationship or
- 13:21marriage and and the man has to move out of the house, these are
- 13:25the men that come online and complete, ask them is your pain.
- 13:29Me, the house, they will start giving you all sorts of story.
- 13:33I was 20, I was paying the rent for us to be able to save that
- 13:36money. I was the one paying the rent, I
- 13:38was wondering this. I was wondering that Nigerian
- 13:41Men Who start thinking there is going to as is going to
- 13:44continue. It's not going to end.
- 13:47I mean we are going to always see people complain online women
- 13:51that were brought from Nigeria complaining about, you know, the
- 13:54Situation's. They are their husbands are
- 13:56putting them through in this country and also What ways We
- 14:00complain about the boss women from Nigeria and they did them
- 14:04dirty. It is always going to be there.
- 14:06What I always tell people is regardless of the relationship,
- 14:09you're in regardless of the marriage or in improve yourself.
- 14:13I mean, even if there are two people that okay husband is busy
- 14:17doing Uber doing security, relaxing and wife is busy doing
- 14:21menial jobs, cleaning and all that they fit each other.
- 14:25They because these two people have, you know, resigned their
- 14:29faith, Living in here in the bottom end of the spectrum, no
- 14:33problem. But if you're married to
- 14:35somebody that evil, that person goes to school, get skills,
- 14:40learning skills, learning different things.
- 14:42And then progressing through the career ladder and then you just
- 14:46there sitting down, you're just be security.
- 14:49Listen II don't have any problem with security, I don't have any
- 14:53problem with Uber drivers, but if you are going to marry a
- 14:57woman that's Is going to progress and you are just there,
- 15:04you have to be ready to kind of. And at that point she will be
- 15:09pay most of the bills. So you are not going to have
- 15:13that traditional family where you're just going to go to work
- 15:18and then come back and sit down. No, you have to contribute other
- 15:21ways. You have to help maybe with
- 15:24children. You have to help me be with
- 15:25house. You have to help me bi-weekly
- 15:28see as long as you're willing to.
- 15:29To help, maybe you can even decide.
- 15:32Okay, she says that you're not even cleaning this house.
- 15:34Probably just stop doing it or, you know, but that's you have
- 15:39made that effort. You have made your shoe that you
- 15:42want to help. They will not be that problem
- 15:45when you're sitting now, you come back after driving you by
- 15:48you come back, cross your leg and she has gone to work.
- 15:51Maybe I see nothing. She has end twice as much as you
- 15:55vent, and she's coming back going into the kitchen, picking
- 15:59the children from School cooking for them doing their homework,
- 16:03trying to run around, put them in bed and you're just sitting
- 16:06down crossing your leg. That relationship is not going
- 16:09to Grant marriage is not married, you crash, and you're
- 16:12going to leave that house, Iowa to come back online and complain
- 16:15about it, whether man or woman, that is the situation.
- 16:20So my point here is regardless of where you are.
- 16:23Whether Nigeria weather in does for, and you as long as your
- 16:27partner is improving, Triana, Improve is your partner, he gets
- 16:31why. So that one day, you know,
- 16:33command and tell a story that touches the hearts, you know,
- 16:37come and be complaining. That this is what after 20 years
- 16:39of my life, this is what I got from this man.
- 16:42Oh this is what I got from this woman.
- 16:45This is our since all sorts of things.
- 16:48Anyway, thank you very much for watching today's episode, please
- 16:51like like like and share. Thank you very much.
- 16:53Bye, bye.
