Latest / Johnjay & Rich On Demand / Kyle wants to talk WILDFLOWERING
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: John Jay and Rich. We are like a whole vibe.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I think it's really silly how everything in dating has
- 0:06Speaker 2: to have a term, right?
- 0:08Speaker 3: There's a term for everything now.
- 0:10Speaker 2: And this is kind of like the anti-term term in dating.
- 0:14Speaker 2: So there's something called wildflowering that like Vogue and relationship
- 0:18Speaker 2: experts have been like starting to write about called wildflowering.
- 0:22Speaker 2: So this is where people intentionally let a relationship grow
- 0:26Speaker 2: slowly without immediately forcing labels, timeliness, or like a where
- 0:30Speaker 2: is this going conversation.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You mean like responsible dating? Yeah. Well, just sort of like.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Letting things naturally bloom.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Like think about it as wildflowers just naturally bloom on
- 0:39Speaker 2: their own. And that's like what they want for the relationship.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Other than like two, three weeks in going, so what
- 0:45Speaker 2: are we?
- 0:45Speaker 3: What are we doing here? Like what are we trying
- 0:47Speaker 3: to do?
- 0:47Speaker 1: What's happening? The DTR, Kyle. Determine the relationship.
- 0:51Speaker 2: But I think the only problem with wildflowering is, is
- 0:53Speaker 2: that some people.
- 0:56Speaker 3: have to figure out where you're going.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So then it creates the how soon is too soon.
- 1:01Speaker 3: For different milestones in the relationship. At what point does
- 1:05Speaker 3: the wildflowering need to become labels, right?
- 1:08Speaker 2: So the discussion is how soon is too soon for
- 1:12Speaker 2: the following things? Like how soon is too soon then
- 1:15Speaker 2: to make things exclusive?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Three months.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Way soon.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Way soon?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Too soon. How soon is too soon?
- 1:21Speaker 2: Three months is too soon to determine the relationship?
- 1:24Speaker 1: To be exclusive, it's too soon. To be exclusive? No
- 1:25Speaker 1: matter what the time is. I just feel like it's.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Different because everyone moves at different speeds.
- 1:32Speaker 2: But I think it would be like, too soon for
- 1:35Speaker 2: me would be like second date.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Like, dude, whoa. Breathe a little bit.
- 1:41Speaker 2: First date or anything before second date.
- 1:44Speaker 1: A couple of months of dating because you might not
- 1:45Speaker 1: see each other every weekend.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I would say maybe like six weeks. Yeah, I think
- 1:50Speaker 3: that anything before six weeks, just leave it alone. Let
- 1:52Speaker 3: it wildflower and bloom.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Even putting a time frame on it seems like you're
- 1:56Speaker 4: breaking the wildflowering rules.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And that's what they're saying.
- 1:59Speaker 2: It becomes difficult because then at one point, are you
- 2:02Speaker 2: just wildflowering forever? Like you have to have these conversations
- 2:05Speaker 2: at some point.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Remember it used to be, I think it was like
- 2:08Speaker 4: three dates before a kiss or three days before you
- 2:11Speaker 4: call back.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Three days. When you're a guy and you go out
- 2:14Speaker 4: with a girl, you don't call her for three days.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Like instead, you know, there's these silly rules, but yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 4: you're right. Okay.
- 2:19Speaker 1: What else?
- 2:19Speaker 3: So how soon is too soon to meet the parents?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Way soon.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I went out with this girl one time and she
- 2:27Speaker 4: was a cheerleader and she, we went on a date
- 2:29Speaker 4: and the next day she's like, Hey, are you going
- 2:32Speaker 4: to come to the game on Friday? My parents are coming.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I want to meet my parents.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Whoa!
- 2:36Speaker 5: Freeze!
- 2:37Speaker 2: No! See, I kind of feel like that one should
- 2:40Speaker 2: go in tandem with the first one.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Like, you shouldn't meet the parents before you're exclusive. Yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 3: that's fair. I feel like there's kind of like maybe.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They're going to want to know things. They're going to
- 2:48Speaker 1: ask you questions.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Maybe not an.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Exact timeline, like three weeks, whatever. But like you should
- 2:52Speaker 2: definitely be exclusive at the point. Because I went on
- 2:55Speaker 2: a first date with a guy and his parents, like
- 2:56Speaker 2: we went to dinner with his parents. And I was like,
- 2:57Speaker 2: this feels too soon.
- 2:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's too soon.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Holy smokes. I feel like when I was in high school,
- 3:02Speaker 5: I would never bring a guy around for like at
- 3:04Speaker 5: least like a year.
- 3:05Speaker 1: A year?
- 3:07Speaker 5: Now as I've gotten as older, I think it probably
- 3:09Speaker 5: took like four or five months to. before my parents
- 3:12Speaker 5: met my husband, Kadeem.
- 3:13Speaker 2: And I'm sure it kind of depends on your family too, right?
- 3:15Speaker 2: Like if you're close with your family, they're probably going
- 3:17Speaker 2: to meet.
- 3:18Speaker 3: The significant other sooner.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So how soon is too soon to post them on Instagram?
- 3:23Speaker 2: When do you go Instagram official?
- 3:25Speaker 4: Are you talking about stories?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Like you're on a date?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Put it on stories?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Either way.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Because like the stories would be the soft launch, right?
- 3:31Speaker 2: And your feed post would be the hard launch.
- 3:34Speaker 5: It depends how much I like you. Like truthfully, like
- 3:37Speaker 5: if I have to convince myself that I'm in.
- 3:39Speaker 3: It, it's probably going to take a little bit longer
- 3:41Speaker 3: for you.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Maybe that's a gut check for you if you're into
- 3:44Speaker 1: posting it or not.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Yeah these are fun types of things i wish i
- 3:48Speaker 4: wish that uh i wasn't yet just celebrating my anniversary
- 3:50Speaker 4: it'd be kind of fun to be on to be
- 3:52Speaker 4: single dating right now if i was a single guy
- 3:55Speaker 4: on the show i could say kyle you know i'm
- 3:56Speaker 4: gonna try these out this weekend i'll.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Let you know you would hate you would literally hate
- 3:59Speaker 6: dating nowadays no i would love this because it's rough
- 4:02Speaker 6: out there like sending john jay out because like the
- 4:04Speaker 6: next one is like how soon is too soon to
- 4:06Speaker 6: like leave.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Clothes or a toothbrush at their house and i would
- 4:10Speaker 2: just be like john jay your assignment this weekend is
- 4:12Speaker 2: to be like can i have your toothbrush the first
- 4:14Speaker 2: time Just to see the reaction.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It's never too soon if it's me.
- 4:19Speaker 3: For them, you're not leaving your stuff at my house.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I guess you would have to at least be like,
- 4:24Speaker 2: this is 100% a recurring thing.
- 4:27Speaker 5: If I'm leaving my toothbrush at your house, it's because
- 4:29Speaker 5: I'm marking my territory.
- 4:31Speaker 1: But if they ask to leave their toothbrush at your house,
- 4:34Speaker 1: back off. I need my privacy.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And then the last one is, which one should come first?
- 4:39Speaker 2: You should say, I love you, or share your location.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Oh, I'm sharing my location before I tell you I
- 4:47Speaker 5: love you.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I'd go I love you way before
- 4:50Speaker 1: sharing the location. Same. I don't like the surveillance.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You're not getting that location unless I love you.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I think you're going to be married before that happens.
- 4:57Speaker 4: I have one answer for both those is I don't
- 5:00Speaker 4: know how.
- 5:01Speaker 3: You don't know how to love?
- 5:02Speaker 1: I don't know how to love. I don't know how
- 5:04Speaker 1: to share my location.
- 5:05Speaker 3: That's what I would say.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Let's share locations, John Jay, right now.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm going to request it indefinitely.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I'm going to keep tabs on you.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Go ahead. All right.
- 5:13Speaker 4: If you've got any more wildflowering you want to add
- 5:15Speaker 4: to this list, text JJR96893.
