"I am the bread of life" - John 6:35

John organises most of the teaching of Jesus in his gospel around several important statements that Jesus made about himself. Each begins with the words, "I am" - an unmistakable claim from Jesus that he is God Himself. Yet he is the God who has drawn near to graciously provide for his people.
