- 0:06SPEAKER_00: In this episode, The Creation of Humans Part 2.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Having agreed on the fundamentals, Faskayout, Blomster, and Röder each set out to create their own version of humanity.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: They had agreed on the shape, the ability to speak, and the way their creations would bring new life into the world.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: But beyond that, each had their own ideas.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: They began with clay.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Carefully, they shaped their figures, giving them two legs to walk upon, arms to reach with, and hands capable of holding and carrying things.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Within each belly, they placed a small cave carved from wood, containing a baby.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: The child would grow inside its mother just as they had agreed.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: When their work was complete, they brought their creations before Modhir, allowing her warmth to heat the clay and bring them to life.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: All three versions depended on Modhir's light to survive.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Thank you for listening to Stories from Väruld.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: In this, their creators agreed.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: But Blomster had taken the idea considerably further.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: His humans had skin like the leaves of a tree.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Rather than seeking food from other living things, they would nourish themselves on water and sunlight alone.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Faskayout and Röder questioned his decision.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: What would drive such creatures to explore?
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: If they needed nothing beyond water and sunlight, would they have any reason to search for something more?
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Blomster was unconvinced.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Why should the need for food be the reason to explore?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Surely curiosity could be reason enough.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And why should his creations have to consume other living things simply to remain alive?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Neither Faskayout nor Röder was entirely persuaded, but Blomster stood firm.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: His humans would live as he had designed them.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: And so the three creators brought their humans to their respective worlds.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Faskayout placed his on Fierst, Blomster placed his on Fullrasker, and Röder placed hers on Ofsen.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: At first, their lives were not so different from those of the creatures that had come before them.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: They walked across the lands, fed themselves, slept, and sought shelter.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: They discovered what was useful and what was dangerous.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: They learned from their surroundings and, eventually, from one another.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: They lived, they died, and they were reborn.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Sial watched.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: She had seen countless souls pass through countless lives before, and she knew how little they usually changed.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: A soul might inhabit one creature after another, yet carry nothing new from the experience.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: But the humans were different.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: As generations passed, she began to notice something she had never seen before.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Their souls were changing.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Knowledge did not simply disappear with the death of a body.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Something remained, something that could be carried into another life.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And with each generation, there was the possibility of building upon what had come before.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: It was precisely what Sial had hoped for.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: The three creators had succeeded.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: They had made beings capable of learning, changing, and passing knowledge onward.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: The circle of life continued, just as Dupe had said it should.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: But Avarikan had been right as well.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: The circle no longer returned everything to where it had begun.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: And what these new creatures might accomplish with that difference, not even the Alvalduchas could know.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Thank you for listening to Stories from Väruld.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: In the next episode, Plan for Next Year, Season 2.
