- 0:28Speaker 5: times front on things I've written, But I think.
- 0:29Speaker 4: I've got it down now.
- 0:30Speaker 5: It's a difference between the E and the eye cross
- 0:33Speaker 5: I did Evan. We can put Evan in his place.
- 0:35Speaker 5: You know, he's flexing, telling us all about what a
- 0:37Speaker 5: dynamic cyo basketball player.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Whatever is your basketball league?
- 0:41Speaker 6: Was it JC to call your your concerns? Uh, well

- 0:54Speaker 7: Whine me you.
- 0:58Speaker 6: Everything's wicked.
- 1:00Speaker 4: There's no time for ours.
- 1:01Speaker 6: A couple drinks and yeah, you're.
- 1:02Speaker 8: Like, no, fascinating.
- 1:06Speaker 4: It's all of a sudden.
- 1:06Speaker 7: The ball is bigger. How much of a changed to
- 1:09Speaker 7: It's longer?
- 1:10Speaker 8: Was it?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Tell me more about it?
- 1:12Speaker 8: Fall?
- 1:14Speaker 7: What about it is longer, shorter and fat?
- 1:17Speaker 4: The girth of the ball on Dale, I think is.
- 1:19Speaker 7: Where you grew up.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Rossie. Yeah, I got ancestors from there.
- 1:22Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.

- 1:31Speaker 8: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:34Speaker 8: at Gillette Stadium, and we got slots to talk about
- 1:38Speaker 8: boy starting with this roast and Rookie mini camp starting
- 1:42Speaker 8: this week on Thursday, and so there's there's a good
- 1:45Speaker 8: mix of subject matter to go over. It's Deuce, It's
- 1:48Speaker 8: Alex who came in after that roast and was just like,
- 1:53Speaker 8: I can't believe what I just saw.
- 1:54Speaker 9: I was ready to talk about it all day, and
- 1:57Speaker 9: some people were like, oh, I'm too big, Like Veronica
- 1:59Speaker 9: had a whole message outside her Q was like I
- 2:01Speaker 9: can't talk, I'm too busy, and then people were working
- 2:03Speaker 9: from home.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It was like only Fred that I got to.
- 2:06Speaker 7: Geek out with talking about We all talked. The four
- 2:09Speaker 7: of us talked about it.
- 2:10Speaker 9: You didn't want did and some ish Paul's here, I
- 2:16Speaker 9: couldn't take my eyes off.
- 2:20Speaker 5: It was it was, it was, it was crazy. I mean,
- 2:22Speaker 5: I don't know what you expect. I mean, that's what
- 2:24Speaker 5: a roast is, right like, but but it's still was
- 2:27Speaker 5: just that nothing well was off the list.
- 2:29Speaker 8: That's what a roast is. But I didn't think that
- 2:31Speaker 8: they do that. Now, once Jeffrey Ross is involved, you
- 2:35Speaker 8: know they've got to do somethings. But boy, you know
- 2:39Speaker 8: they went there.
- 2:39Speaker 4: They did. I mean everybody but all those.
- 2:41Speaker 8: People say, I can't believe they got away with that.
- 2:44Speaker 8: If you've listened or seen the Jeffrey Ross I've seen worse,
- 2:49Speaker 8: especially when a woman is the person being roasted, like
- 2:52Speaker 8: some of the things, like I think it was Joan.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Rivers the herd roast.
- 2:56Speaker 8: They were fishes, So I would like, that's what I
- 3:00Speaker 8: expect from a Jeffrey Ross Rose. But I just didn't
- 3:02Speaker 8: think they'd go where they went, and they went everywhere.
- 3:05Speaker 8: There is not one taboo subject that they didn't hit.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And right off the bat too, they got right into it.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean everything that was I mean, name it.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Giselle's karate instructor was one that like, I was, oh
- 3:18Speaker 5: my gosh. And then Bill with his young girlfriend too,
- 3:22Speaker 5: that was another one that I just you know, joke
- 3:24Speaker 5: areas that the right cap I.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Mean was unreal.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I mean like Foxboro High scouting your heads and.
- 3:31Speaker 8: I thought everybody did it like Edelman did a great job, Bronk,
- 3:35Speaker 8: everybody did a great job. I think the worst person
- 3:37Speaker 8: was benefit Ben a Fleck. Yeah, and he's the only
- 3:40Speaker 8: actor among the group, and he was the worst. Everyone
- 3:43Speaker 8: was hysterical, unhinged.
- 3:45Speaker 3: It was it.
- 3:47Speaker 8: Maybe it was a little too long, but it was.
- 3:49Speaker 8: It was amazing, did you.
- 3:50Speaker 5: I mean because I saw some fans say it kind
- 3:53Speaker 5: of felt cathartic in a way, which I mean.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I think that's interesting. You know, like like all these guys.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Who have all this like you know, kind of controversy
- 4:00Speaker 5: with each I mean, obviously they had great things together too,
- 4:02Speaker 5: but it just feels like this is kind of what
- 4:04Speaker 5: some people need to get, like just let's all sit
- 4:06Speaker 5: around and just roast each other and then we'll feel better.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I don't know, it was definitely, you know what.
- 4:11Speaker 8: I've heard that a lot, and I can understand that.
- 4:14Speaker 8: It's like you finally had that fight, you beat the
- 4:18Speaker 8: crap out of each other, and then it's like, okay,
- 4:20Speaker 8: we're good now.
- 4:21Speaker 4: We should have done it every season.
- 4:22Speaker 5: I feel like that was like, let's all, let's just
- 4:24Speaker 5: hash it all out, you know, in a public forum
- 4:27Speaker 5: and let everybody laugh about it.
- 4:28Speaker 4: And then we'll move on.
- 4:29Speaker 8: So I think, like I talked to some people, this
- 4:32Speaker 8: is good.
- 4:33Speaker 10: You know.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I thought it was good for.
- 4:35Speaker 8: The for the organization and for the for the brand,
- 4:39Speaker 8: but also you know, for that dynasty era of players.
- 4:43Speaker 8: I thought it was a good thing. It's like, yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 8: we we were We had a lot of screwed up
- 4:48Speaker 8: things that went on, but you know, we're okay.
- 4:51Speaker 3: It's ok the end of the day, we.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Can all do a shot and say we won some games,
- 4:55Speaker 5: and you know, we screwed each other over here and there,
- 4:57Speaker 5: and and we had some nasty things but to say.
- 4:59Speaker 4: But at the end the day, everybody's tied tied together.
- 5:01Speaker 9: And yeah, that was the moment to the shot, not
- 5:04Speaker 9: even Belichick and Crafts, which came after, but right after
- 5:07Speaker 9: Gronk's bit when he said, when he was doing his
- 5:10Speaker 9: whole bit about how similar Tom and Bill are, and
- 5:13Speaker 9: he said, as his last point, and neither of you
- 5:16Speaker 9: have ever had a drink with me. And the next thing,
- 5:18Speaker 9: you know, they're all ripping a shot together. And that's
- 5:20Speaker 9: when I tweeted this. But I was like, this isn't
- 5:22Speaker 9: out of body experience if you're a Pats fan, because
- 5:25Speaker 9: you would never thought you would have seen something like this,
- 5:27Speaker 9: but just how uptight everything was. But just to hear
- 5:30Speaker 9: them like really going at each other like they probably
- 5:33Speaker 9: used to in the locker room, just so unfiltered, so raw,
- 5:36Speaker 9: so funny, especially once they got the drinks flowing and
- 5:39Speaker 9: they realized like, oh, this is like a proper twenty
- 5:42Speaker 9: ten roast right now, Like this is back when comedy.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Like we we went.
- 5:46Speaker 9: I felt like we hadn't had anything like that in
- 5:48Speaker 9: the comedy world in just so long, like five years,
- 5:52Speaker 9: five ten years.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I've been waiting for this for so long.
- 5:55Speaker 11: Yeah, look to old Foxboro High is the only job
- 5:58Speaker 11: offer you've.
- 5:59Speaker 8: Had that was Edelman getting back at Bill Just nothing
- 6:05Speaker 8: was nothing was sacred.
- 6:06Speaker 5: No, And poor Gronk, Like I just feel like Gronk
- 6:08Speaker 5: didn't realize that there was going to be so many,
- 6:11Speaker 5: so many strays, Like poor Gronk, Like you know, Nikki
- 6:15Speaker 5: Glazers like going in hard on Gronk and I'm like, oh,
- 6:17Speaker 5: leave all alone.
- 6:18Speaker 4: He's so sweet.
- 6:19Speaker 5: What about Drew Bledsoe, I know, Paul's guy.
- 6:24Speaker 3: He was right off the bat getting get hurt though.
- 6:27Speaker 8: He was excellent, handled comfortable, he was excellent, and he
- 6:30Speaker 8: was one of the first.
- 6:31Speaker 7: Non evidently he was bleep face.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, maybe well he was.
- 6:35Speaker 9: It was a great promo for his vineyard, Yeah, red
- 6:39Speaker 9: from the Bloodsoe family winery.
- 6:41Speaker 4: And he was really early.
- 6:42Speaker 5: I mean I did see him, but the first he
- 6:43Speaker 5: was the first non comedian right to go, and and
- 6:46Speaker 5: he looked just so comfortable up there.
- 6:48Speaker 4: And you know, you saw with with Randy a.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Little bit like, oh man, you know, you got these
- 6:52Speaker 5: jokes and it's hard.
- 6:53Speaker 4: When you're going after these comedians that that know how
- 6:55Speaker 4: to deliver the.
- 6:56Speaker 7: Drew was the coolest guy.
- 6:58Speaker 4: He was.
- 6:58Speaker 7: I could definitely see him.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Kevin Hart, I love this man. I feel like I've
- 7:03Speaker 3: seen you at.
- 7:04Speaker 8: Every Walmart in those picture frames, you know, employee of
- 7:07Speaker 8: the of the month.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You know, like he's got that face.
- 7:10Speaker 4: That's true, that's true.
- 7:12Speaker 5: But he was funny and yeah, now I guess it's
- 7:14Speaker 5: it's it's uh, it's just funny listening to everybody discuss
- 7:18Speaker 5: it and bring out their favorite parts.
- 7:20Speaker 4: And I mean, there's just so much. Like you said,
- 7:21Speaker 4: it was three hours, right, That's why I had to
- 7:23Speaker 4: I had to tap out along from.
- 7:24Speaker 3: How I couldn't.
- 7:25Speaker 9: I couldn't you watched it, and I like.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Everybody raves them like and admittedly I will up front,
- 7:33Speaker 7: I'm going to let everybody I did not see it,
- 7:35Speaker 7: but everybody has raved about this. I haven't really seen
- 7:38Speaker 7: one person who said it was not good. Not one. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 7: and you know how I always say that I don't
- 7:43Speaker 7: mean that literally. I mean this one literally.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 7: I have not found one person that didn't find it funny.
- 7:48Speaker 9: There were some ladies clutching their pearls upstairs.
- 7:51Speaker 7: Okay, one one particular, there was one man that I
- 7:56Speaker 7: work with that was clutching, but he thought it was funny.
- 7:59Speaker 3: One but he just kind of thought.
- 8:00Speaker 8: Maybe it was a little One particular security booth operator
- 8:04Speaker 8: came up to me and she was like, I had
- 8:07Speaker 8: to turn it off for some parts of all.
- 8:09Speaker 7: It's funny because I thought she was trying to stop
- 8:12Speaker 7: me yesterday and that's probably what she wanted to stop
- 8:14Speaker 7: me about. Yeah, and I just kind of like, the way.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Does she stop you?
- 8:18Speaker 7: You guys talk occasionally interesting.
- 8:22Speaker 2: You have to be special to get yours.
- 8:24Speaker 7: When you're behind me.
- 8:25Speaker 4: But like he's still going to talk to Devin McCarty
- 8:27Speaker 4: about that.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You've never seen one of these.
- 8:29Speaker 7: Alex, you are special Jeffrey.
- 8:32Speaker 8: If you've never seen one of these Ross things, you
- 8:34Speaker 8: would be shocked. But that's what they're like.
- 8:37Speaker 7: This was I am not familiar with that. That would
- 8:39Speaker 7: have really that's probably why I didn't.
- 8:42Speaker 9: Will didn't think just because it's Tom Brady, it's all
- 8:46Speaker 9: these like I didn't think it was going to be
- 8:48Speaker 9: like a real rose like when.
- 8:50Speaker 8: Yeah, but I should have known.
- 8:51Speaker 7: That's what I was probably where I missed and what
- 8:54Speaker 7: Alex said a few minutes ago, it was kind of
- 8:57Speaker 7: like a throwback to a different time of comedy, and
- 9:00Speaker 7: maybe that's what I was figuring. Okay, yeah, I know
- 9:03Speaker 7: roasts like you know that they can get vicious, but
- 9:05Speaker 7: I was like, not anymore, right because you just figured like,
- 9:08Speaker 7: you can't do that anymore because you're just gonna get canceled.
- 9:10Speaker 8: No, no, I mean these roasts, all these Jeffrey Ross
- 9:14Speaker 8: ones are they are vicious.
- 9:16Speaker 3: They are vicious.
- 9:17Speaker 7: I'll have to check it out.
- 9:18Speaker 9: And it was funny because you could see the shift
- 9:20Speaker 9: kind of because Drew went up there and Drew was
- 9:22Speaker 9: great and made the jokes.
- 9:23Speaker 2: But then Nicki Glazier.
- 9:26Speaker 9: Comes on and there was like the i'd say the
- 9:28Speaker 9: first half of her set If you look at all
- 9:30Speaker 9: the reactions of people in the background, they're just like
- 9:32Speaker 9: bewildered that this is even happening, that they're hearing.
- 9:35Speaker 2: But then they start.
- 9:36Speaker 9: Loosening up and having more drinks, and Nicki's set continues
- 9:39Speaker 9: and gets crazier and more outrageous and more outrageous, and
- 9:42Speaker 9: then from there it was just like we lost control
- 9:46Speaker 9: of the car and it's speeding, but in a good way,
- 9:51Speaker 9: the best.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Way I get it.
- 9:52Speaker 8: It's hard to walk away from something that's not your
- 9:53Speaker 8: pregnant girlfriend.
- 9:54Speaker 7: It's tough geez.
- 9:57Speaker 4: I mean. Then that's the thing too, is he was
- 9:59Speaker 4: really good.
- 10:00Speaker 5: These guys, they've had twenty five years of on the
- 10:02Speaker 5: big stage and all these things were just waiting there
- 10:05Speaker 5: to be made fun of. It was just so so
- 10:06Speaker 5: much comedy gold that that people could have fun with
- 10:10Speaker 5: going back to you know everything I mean over you know,
- 10:13Speaker 5: like I said, twenty five years it's it's there's not
- 10:15Speaker 5: many things like that. You could do a roast where
- 10:17Speaker 5: everybody all right. There's a couple of things he had
- 10:19Speaker 5: to divorce, but this is like.
- 10:20Speaker 9: You That's why my only complaint three migos, That's why
- 10:28Speaker 9: my only complaint. Other than Gronk getting all the strays was.
- 10:32Speaker 9: And I understand why Netflix didn't have matt Light to
- 10:35Speaker 9: take a turn, because like, who's matt Light. However, I
- 10:39Speaker 9: don't think they realized what they missed out on.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah, he would have been good.
- 10:42Speaker 8: They had that row of you know, teammates sitting behind.
- 10:45Speaker 8: I thought Nate Solda was uncomfortable. I think he was
- 10:48Speaker 8: like at first, I thought all those guys were going
- 10:50Speaker 8: to get up.
- 10:51Speaker 7: I thought all those guys were going to.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Get up, and I'm like, oh man, this is I mean,
- 10:54Speaker 5: if Randy Moss can barely put it together, like what's
- 10:56Speaker 5: Nate Solda going to do?
- 10:57Speaker 9: They should have swapped out either Affleck or car Ardashian,
- 11:00Speaker 9: get rid of one of them and throw it matt Light.
- 11:03Speaker 2: And I think it's a perfect way.
- 11:05Speaker 9: The Kardashian was like a minute, you could see she
- 11:08Speaker 9: got ship.
- 11:09Speaker 4: She got shook by getting Boo. You could tell, like
- 11:11Speaker 4: because everyone was just and then.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Affleck was like unhinged on like.
- 11:17Speaker 7: That get unhinged by getting Booth.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I don't think because she's delusional, was like let's go up. Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 2: I think she's delusion.
- 11:28Speaker 7: You would think that she'd be used to getting booth
- 11:30Speaker 7: because she has to be pretty polarized.
- 11:31Speaker 4: In that setting. It's not it's not her people, This
- 11:34Speaker 4: isn't like you know, this isn't the eel.
- 11:35Speaker 3: But she was the only one.
- 11:37Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, and where did you Why did they get her?
- 11:40Speaker 4: I don't I still don't get how she fit.
- 11:43Speaker 8: There was a dating, there was like a rumor, there
- 11:46Speaker 8: was a little thing there, right, Yeah, So they.
- 11:49Speaker 9: They were hanging out together in the Hamptons as they
- 11:51Speaker 9: went through their divorces together, and the friendship was.
- 11:54Speaker 2: They were leaning on each other. I don't know whatever.
- 11:59Speaker 9: But my theory about Affleck is that I don't know
- 12:01Speaker 9: if you guys are coke well one coked out too.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys are onto this.
- 12:06Speaker 9: But Jalo recently came out with a documentary and she's
- 12:09Speaker 9: getting so much hate for it because she just comes
- 12:12Speaker 9: off as super narcissistic and totally delusional, and so she's
- 12:17Speaker 9: been getting a ton of hate, especially on TikTok. So
- 12:21Speaker 9: I'm wondering, like, is Ben just like so enraged about
- 12:23Speaker 9: what's happening to his wife that like he was going
- 12:27Speaker 9: on a rant about the commentors, really like it was
- 12:31Speaker 9: about Jennifer, not.
- 12:32Speaker 8: Tom the Keyboard Warriors, the audience, as they say, and.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Then plus cocaine and jeering cocaine in a way did
- 12:39Speaker 2: that too.
- 12:40Speaker 4: He used his one minute to take a shot at Netflix.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Who did a white you didn't see. I didn't care.
- 12:48Speaker 4: He was on the down list for what I heard,
- 12:50Speaker 4: you know, the ups and the down.
- 12:51Speaker 3: He was okay, that's fine for what he did.
- 12:53Speaker 9: He was fine, But he needed to be there for
- 12:54Speaker 9: another crucial joke that I don't know if it was
- 12:57Speaker 9: Andrew Schultz or Tony Hinchcliff making about robbing a Brazilian
- 13:01Speaker 9: at a half a purse.
- 13:02Speaker 2: That was all lost my mind.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That was a great line.
- 13:05Speaker 8: That was a great line.
- 13:08Speaker 3: I just lost my mind. I couldn't.
- 13:10Speaker 4: I just had to take a minute away.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I really did, like I.
- 13:12Speaker 9: Think, not to be dramatic, I think it was good
- 13:14Speaker 9: for the country.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I really do. I think we needed that last.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Bringing us back from the brink.
- 13:21Speaker 8: But but you know, going back to what you said earlier,
- 13:23Speaker 8: I think for Patriots fans this was cathartic. It was.
- 13:28Speaker 2: It was kind of a lot of the stuff I
- 13:29Speaker 2: hoped I would get out of the dynasty, like the closure. Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 2: like and that that Scotch the itch for me.
- 13:35Speaker 3: It did.
- 13:35Speaker 8: Even the Dynasty got shots taken at it, which I
- 13:38Speaker 8: mean it was a great joke. Yeah it was. It
- 13:40Speaker 8: was good stuff. So you know, if people want to
- 13:43Speaker 8: comment on it, uh, free to do so.
- 13:48Speaker 4: For people who hated it, I mean we just have.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Those are the very publicly hated it.
- 13:54Speaker 8: Like I can understand Aaron is not, but why were
- 13:57Speaker 8: you watching? Like why would you want to have anything
- 14:00Speaker 8: to do?
- 14:01Speaker 9: Also like to say, like my daughter's gonna my daughter
- 14:04Speaker 9: her dad was her hero and now this is It's like.
- 14:09Speaker 7: She's probably all this. Like I feel like I saw
- 14:12Speaker 7: I didn't see one second. And I feel like every
- 14:15Speaker 7: single one of the stories you guys have just told
- 14:18Speaker 7: I have either seen on Twitter or heard the clips
- 14:21Speaker 7: on the radio.
- 14:22Speaker 9: I don't think Gizelle cheating on Tom got enough airwave
- 14:25Speaker 9: though I think her PR team has some friends that
- 14:29Speaker 9: it seemed like such a quick like little TMZ.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Friday news dump never got any play.
- 14:34Speaker 9: But that's why I think like this was a roast
- 14:36Speaker 9: about Tom Brady, but I really think it was a
- 14:37Speaker 9: roast about Giselle. And I mean, your actions have consequences,
- 14:43Speaker 9: tomb and like Tom's last line of that roast is
- 14:56Speaker 9: the true love of my life.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Football. That's the last thing.
- 14:59Speaker 8: He sa.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't know I read into that stuff, but.
- 15:03Speaker 8: You know, and and if you look at the credits,
- 15:05Speaker 8: Tom was up there as execut one of the executive producers,
- 15:08Speaker 8: So we had something to do with the making.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Of this thing, you know, getting some of the money
- 15:12Speaker 4: out of it too.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah, g z L.
- 15:17Speaker 8: However, I highly recommend it if you want to. I
- 15:21Speaker 8: assume Netflix is showing it. You know, you can see
- 15:24Speaker 8: at any time. Yeah, just you know, if you got
- 15:27Speaker 8: the kids in the room now ear muffs.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely mature audiences only I would especially when.
- 15:33Speaker 8: Yeah, and according to Mike Florio, Tom Brady admitted to
- 15:37Speaker 8: the flight gate during but you know, because everything else
- 15:41Speaker 8: was a joke except that.
- 15:42Speaker 4: The most humor humorless person in football.
- 15:46Speaker 7: Yeah, that is really dumb.
- 15:48Speaker 8: So we get that and then back to football, although
- 15:52Speaker 8: this was football related. But Thursday, Friday, and Saturday is
- 15:55Speaker 8: the rookie minicamp and we'll be there with bells on.
- 15:58Speaker 8: In terms of content, new content throughout that. Excited to
- 16:04Speaker 8: get to see you know, the guys out in the field.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I don't even know if you guys have because I
- 16:09Speaker 5: remember one of my favorite things when I was a
- 16:10Speaker 5: blogger boy was wait for these rookie pictures to come
- 16:13Speaker 5: out because you guys know me, I like numbers and helmets,
- 16:16Speaker 5: so I would always do like a rookie eyeball test post.
- 16:19Speaker 5: But I don't remember seeing these lately, Like I don't
- 16:21Speaker 5: remember really a lot of content coming out of I mean,
- 16:24Speaker 5: we're supposed to watch practice on Saturday, but I even
- 16:26Speaker 5: remember in recent years not really seeing much of anything.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Well it's it's really not much.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I mean, you know, helmets and numbers, that's all I need.
- 16:33Speaker 8: The practice itself is like an hour. It's it's not
- 16:37Speaker 8: your typical.
- 16:38Speaker 4: This is how we warm up you guys, get on
- 16:40Speaker 4: that line and lift writing down like.
- 16:43Speaker 7: They're showing you what the process is, what the routine
- 16:46Speaker 7: will be, and.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Can we keep stats of the stats today.
- 16:50Speaker 7: I will guarantee somebody, I guarantee you.
- 16:54Speaker 2: And lift his leg really hot.
- 16:55Speaker 12: Right right, great, the whole tae.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Yeah, but not Joe Milton Man. He can bend down
- 17:03Speaker 5: and touch a tells no problem.
- 17:05Speaker 4: You know.
- 17:05Speaker 7: There'll be some plays that are you know, like some
- 17:07Speaker 7: basic plays that are sitting you know, like so they
- 17:10Speaker 7: can sort of that. This is something that that Bill
- 17:13Speaker 7: really credited Brady with was his ability to sort of
- 17:16Speaker 7: take control of that group his his rookie year, I
- 17:19Speaker 7: almost said his freshman year, his rookie year, and that
- 17:23Speaker 7: sort of showed him some leadership and potential.
- 17:26Speaker 8: Get them ready because they do this now, so that
- 17:27Speaker 8: when the whole team's there, they're not they're not for
- 17:30Speaker 8: the first time.
- 17:30Speaker 7: And they're not keeping everybody behind right right.
- 17:33Speaker 5: And then our first ota full team, well it's on
- 17:35Speaker 5: full team, it's still voluntary, we guess. But May twenty Monday,
- 17:38Speaker 5: May twentieth, then, so week after two weeks from yesterday,
- 17:42Speaker 5: So that's when these guys will.
- 17:43Speaker 8: Be Le'll be interested to see Gerrod Mayo for the
- 17:45Speaker 8: first time as head coach out there. Like what's his demeanor? Yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 8: you know, how how does he present himself?
- 17:51Speaker 4: How does he twirl?
- 17:52Speaker 3: The twirl the what's his thing? You know?
- 17:55Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 17:56Speaker 5: Does he float around from position to position to gravitate
- 17:58Speaker 5: towards the defense a little bit? Is it Alex Van
- 18:01Speaker 5: Pelt show?
- 18:02Speaker 7: You know?
- 18:03Speaker 5: On offenses? You know, where do those guys go? Those
- 18:05Speaker 5: I mean little things, but I love this stuff. I
- 18:07Speaker 5: mean it's you know, you don't build it up too
- 18:09Speaker 5: much as like we're going to watch football, but it's
- 18:11Speaker 5: just a chance to sit outside and watch some of
- 18:13Speaker 5: these guys just move around a little bit.
- 18:14Speaker 4: So I still think it's it's interesting.
- 18:16Speaker 8: Also, there's a report, not that we didn't know, but
- 18:20Speaker 8: the official search for Nobody Wants Dinner, general manager or
- 18:24Speaker 8: head of football Operations, whatever you want to call it is,
- 18:28Speaker 8: has started.
- 18:28Speaker 7: According to Jonathan Jones. Yeah, simply by that one.
- 18:32Speaker 5: Simply right, simply by asking does that fulfill a need
- 18:35Speaker 5: to you know, I think they have to with the
- 18:37Speaker 5: they have to do that.
- 18:38Speaker 4: But if some if you ask.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Somebody and they're like, thanks, does that update.
- 18:42Speaker 7: To that story?
- 18:42Speaker 3: There?
- 18:42Speaker 5: There was someone from the there's two people who turned
- 18:45Speaker 5: them down, one of which was from the Cardinals, and
- 18:49Speaker 5: I think one was where the other.
- 18:51Speaker 2: One Cray Brown and I forget the other one.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Yeah, Trey Brown was was today.
- 18:58Speaker 7: So yeah, I mean I did not see that.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Okay, but everything sounds like everyone expects it to be
- 19:02Speaker 5: Elliot Wolf, which I think, you know.
- 19:04Speaker 7: I would think why would, but I would think that's
- 19:06Speaker 7: why people are turning it down.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Right, They're like, we get it, We're not going to
- 19:08Speaker 4: be right we're not.
- 19:10Speaker 7: I'm not going to be your chara.
- 19:13Speaker 4: That was well, wells going to be a pawn in
- 19:15Speaker 4: your charade.
- 19:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 9: The other one was Quentin Harris, former Cardinals VP of
- 19:19Speaker 9: player Personnel.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Yeah, so I mean I don't know, it's like, how
- 19:24Speaker 5: bad of like how badly could it have gone for
- 19:26Speaker 5: them to.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Be like Elliott? No?
- 19:28Speaker 5: No, no, you really would have so far you would
- 19:32Speaker 5: all have to be like f draft, you know. I
- 19:33Speaker 5: mean there's still are people giving him fs, but I
- 19:36Speaker 5: mean reasonably, I don't know how bad you could have
- 19:38Speaker 5: screwed that up to lose the job at that point.
- 19:40Speaker 8: I mean, yeah, you know, the only way that he
- 19:42Speaker 8: doesn't get it is this stuff that happened that we
- 19:44Speaker 8: don't even have a clue about it. And it's not
- 19:46Speaker 8: the outward things. It's relationship. Yeah, it's you know, screwing things.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Is not collaborating.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Well, but we would have heard about playing with.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Others, you know.
- 19:58Speaker 8: So I think it's a done deal.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Yeah. I think it seems like everybody else thinks that too.
- 20:02Speaker 8: That The question is what will his title be? Probably
- 20:05Speaker 8: not general manager?
- 20:07Speaker 7: So why is that do you think?
- 20:09Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I I think that.
- 20:13Speaker 8: General manager I guess cannotes, you know, overall like I'm
- 20:18Speaker 8: in charge of everything, and I don't think that's the
- 20:20Speaker 8: way the crafts want it.
- 20:22Speaker 4: You know, VP player personnel appeal.
- 20:24Speaker 7: Title can well connote whatever you want it to.
- 20:26Speaker 3: True. True, But but I think general manager.
- 20:32Speaker 8: I think I think general managers just too broad for
- 20:36Speaker 8: their liking, and I think they want something that pinpoints
- 20:38Speaker 8: what their responsibility is. So vice president of player Personnel
- 20:42Speaker 8: or football operations or was that what.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Get that title officially or I think he did eventually.
- 20:48Speaker 7: Yeah, I think they were Director player Personnel. Yeah, and
- 20:53Speaker 7: I'm curious with Mike. Does that satisfy any kind of search? Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 7: if you can't get anybody to try, if you can't
- 21:04Speaker 7: get anybody to come in and interview, like, what do
- 21:06Speaker 7: you have to do?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Pick up some guys off something?
- 21:09Speaker 5: Random?
- 21:09Speaker 2: Guy, where's the loophole?
- 21:14Speaker 4: Tell us about your experience I work at the car wash.
- 21:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if
- 21:21Speaker 7: people don't want to do it, because I mean, just
- 21:23Speaker 7: look at the whole way it's unfolded.
- 21:25Speaker 9: Well, it's like you're gonna get paraded out, have to
- 21:27Speaker 9: take a flight, probably go through this process when you know,
- 21:30Speaker 9: it's someone else's job already.
- 21:31Speaker 4: It's got to be someone to convince themselves like, well,
- 21:33Speaker 4: this is good experience for me.
- 21:34Speaker 3: To get out.
- 21:35Speaker 8: Yeah, that's what they say, is you know, go anyway
- 21:37Speaker 8: just to get the reps.
- 21:39Speaker 3: You know?
- 21:41Speaker 5: Was that so that's like Girod and the Crafts and
- 21:43Speaker 5: that's who it's not. Obviously it's not Ellie Wolf interviewing them.
- 21:47Speaker 5: But it don sound like they were interested in maybe
- 21:49Speaker 5: hiring someone additional too, like it wasn't necessarily.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Well, so who would you have taken it?
- 21:56Speaker 4: We knew drake Man for two months, but yeah, I
- 22:00Speaker 4: don't know.
- 22:00Speaker 5: I mean, it's it's just it always felt weird to
- 22:02Speaker 5: me when they said, like this is how it's going
- 22:04Speaker 5: to be kind of set up, but we're going to
- 22:05Speaker 5: reevaluate things after the draft, so I don't know. I'd
- 22:08Speaker 5: like to just try to get this thing wrapped up
- 22:09Speaker 5: with and give Elliot Wolf an official title and get everything.
- 22:13Speaker 8: And as I read, there's a lot of jobs in
- 22:16Speaker 8: Limbo until this gets done.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Yeah, scouting people too.
- 22:20Speaker 5: I mean sometimes those guys go after draft, right, like
- 22:22Speaker 5: that's the time when you Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 7: It all depends on contract status too. Yeah, I mean,
- 22:27Speaker 7: and if if they were going to hire someone different,
- 22:30Speaker 7: which I think we all agree we don't anticipate. Yeah,
- 22:34Speaker 7: I would think all of those guys would be open.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, all right, what else?
- 22:40Speaker 8: So we got so thirst mini camp, We've got GM.
- 22:44Speaker 7: Search, minor move. They shrunk the quarterback room by one.
- 22:49Speaker 7: They let go of Nathan Rourke, which Mike and I
- 22:52Speaker 7: are not overly disappointed in because we deal with the
- 22:55Speaker 7: mail bag every week and I would say at least
- 22:58Speaker 7: at least one a week that they wasted a pick
- 23:01Speaker 7: at three with Drake May because they have Nathan Rooke roster.
- 23:04Speaker 7: I'm not I'm not exaggerating.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Mister, And this is Rourke maybe maybe Aunt Rourke something
- 23:13Speaker 4: or someone.
- 23:14Speaker 9: He's that kid's been in the community, like doing events
- 23:16Speaker 9: with Donna's team every day, like probably.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Two weeks leading up to the draft too.
- 23:21Speaker 8: You think when you met, you know they've got four
- 23:24Speaker 8: right now? Do you think, like Bailey's happy, for example,
- 23:27Speaker 8: do you keep him just through camp just to have
- 23:29Speaker 8: four quarterbacks?
- 23:30Speaker 4: Or I think you have to see.
- 23:31Speaker 5: I mean, I think you got to see with Milton
- 23:33Speaker 5: how much he really gets it. I mean, I think
- 23:35Speaker 5: it's a possibility that Milton gets cut and you know,
- 23:38Speaker 5: maybe it's back on the practice squad.
- 23:40Speaker 7: Sorry, I mean at the risk of drawing anyone's hire.
- 23:43Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, but.
- 23:44Speaker 4: You gotta, you know, you got to make sure you
- 23:45Speaker 4: got another guy. And I don't know.
- 23:48Speaker 5: I mean, I I preset and is a great piece
- 23:51Speaker 5: at the top. I think that just sets the tone.
- 23:52Speaker 5: You've got some leadership there, you know. I don't think
- 23:55Speaker 5: it's the worst thing in the world if at some
- 23:57Speaker 5: point it's just Drake May and and Prissett, and you know,
- 24:00Speaker 5: even if if May is starting.
- 24:03Speaker 7: But I mean there's a possibility. I mean, I think
- 24:05Speaker 7: that there was an immediate report after the draft that
- 24:09Speaker 7: there was like some efforts to trade ZAPPI. I'm not
- 24:13Speaker 7: sure you know what kind of trade value he has,
- 24:16Speaker 7: but I would hold on to him, at least in
- 24:20Speaker 7: the short term, just because of that. Like, if you
- 24:22Speaker 7: don't want to play Drake May, let's just say that
- 24:26Speaker 7: they you know, want to sit him.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Yep.
- 24:29Speaker 7: So it's it's easy you have Brissett. Well, what if
- 24:32Speaker 7: something happens to Brissett and you want to sit Drake May. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 7: at least you have a guy who's started. I don't know,
- 24:38Speaker 7: twelve games in his career. It's better than the alternative.
- 24:42Speaker 7: You know, if you don't in the alternative would be
- 24:44Speaker 7: you don't want to play your rookie third overall pick,
- 24:48Speaker 7: and now you have to because you don't have any options,
- 24:50Speaker 7: right right.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Persi gets hurt in training camp and you're like, what
- 24:52Speaker 4: the hell is?
- 24:52Speaker 7: So I would hold on to Zappi at least initially,
- 24:56Speaker 7: and you know, maybe he plays well in training camp,
- 24:58Speaker 7: maybe he gets him some preseason success, and all of
- 25:04Speaker 7: a sudden someone loses a backup or something and you
- 25:07Speaker 7: can get a you know, a late round.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Pick for him.
- 25:10Speaker 8: Now we know, we know Jacoby Brissett's that, you know,
- 25:12Speaker 8: he seems to be a good teammate, good leader. But
- 25:16Speaker 8: is there any chance that Bailey's app is a better quarterback.
- 25:20Speaker 7: Than Brissette?
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say no.
- 25:23Speaker 7: I think it's pretty close. I looked at the numbers.
- 25:25Speaker 7: Obviously Brissette has way more experience, but at their best,
- 25:30Speaker 7: they're kind of the same.
- 25:31Speaker 8: Yeah, So just thrown that out there.
- 25:35Speaker 4: We'll see.
- 25:36Speaker 5: I mean, it's it's it's gonna just be interesting to
- 25:38Speaker 5: me how they divide up the reps and get a
- 25:40Speaker 5: look at all these guys, and you know, it's it's
- 25:43Speaker 5: you have a new offense, so everybody needs reps. And
- 25:45Speaker 5: I mean, Jacoby Brissette is supposed to be the starter.
- 25:47Speaker 5: So you know, how much of a chance does Bailey's
- 25:49Speaker 5: Appy even really get?
- 25:50Speaker 4: I mean, is he gonna be.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Kind of the forgotten man during you know, when the
- 25:54Speaker 5: people you're really interested to see, he's probably last, even
- 25:56Speaker 5: though he's probably third in the draft pick. You know,
- 25:59Speaker 5: So it's it's, uh, you got to get Brissett ready.
- 26:01Speaker 5: You want to see May start develop. You're starting to
- 26:04Speaker 5: like pour into Joe Milton and see, you know, if
- 26:06Speaker 5: he can start to put anything together. So it's it's
- 26:09Speaker 5: gonna be a hard position I think for Bailey z
- 26:10Speaker 5: Appy to you know, kind of make make the most
- 26:12Speaker 5: of his chances because I don't know how how many
- 26:15Speaker 5: high quality reps he's gonna get, especially if there's like
- 26:17Speaker 5: a joint practice or something. You're going live nobody wants
- 26:20Speaker 5: to see Bailey's Appy be sorry, buddy, but you know,
- 26:22Speaker 5: you want to see how the first offense looks, and
- 26:24Speaker 5: then you want to see how Drake May developing.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Could Joe Milton figure out an offense? Can he you know,
- 26:28Speaker 4: look like if let's take.
- 26:29Speaker 7: Fred's hypothetical another step, because you know, I just like
- 26:31Speaker 7: to throw out there, what if he's better than Brissette?
- 26:35Speaker 7: What if Fred's hypothetical.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Is It's interesting because I mean I think I probably
- 26:40Speaker 4: have to come at it like, man, Brissette's been really bad,
- 26:43Speaker 4: you know, like I like, that's how I think it
- 26:44Speaker 4: would have to start for me.
- 26:46Speaker 7: I mean, I know, has anybody watched Jakobet?
- 26:49Speaker 5: Well, I'm just saying to get to that point, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 5: it's it's hard to say, like, how could Bailey Zappy
- 26:54Speaker 5: look better than Brissett if he's barely practicing or doing anything,
- 26:57Speaker 5: you know, like so like like I'm just saying.
- 27:01Speaker 7: So you're saying, because he won't have a chance to
- 27:03Speaker 7: like I think this. I think Fred's thing is not
- 27:05Speaker 7: all that far fetched. I think Brissett's better. I think
- 27:09Speaker 7: he's better, but not by much. Yeah, I mean, I
- 27:12Speaker 7: don't think he'll get an opportunity to sort of like
- 27:15Speaker 7: have us magpies in the tent saying wow, he's I
- 27:20Speaker 7: mean Zapi, they might as well go with ZAPPI he's better.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, like.
- 27:24Speaker 7: I don't think they'll they'll give us enough opportunities to
- 27:27Speaker 7: see that. I agree with you on that much.
- 27:29Speaker 5: Hard hard to get to that point. But you also wonder, like,
- 27:32Speaker 5: what's what's this offense going to be like for Zapi?
- 27:34Speaker 5: I mean, maybe he's better in it, you know, maybe
- 27:36Speaker 5: maybe that's a little bit more comfortable.
- 27:38Speaker 8: If you're the pages, do you leak it out that
- 27:40Speaker 8: he is doing well just to raise his value in
- 27:42Speaker 8: the trade market.
- 27:44Speaker 5: I mean, I just think, and we talk about it
- 27:46Speaker 5: all the time drafting quarterbacks, it's good business trying to
- 27:49Speaker 5: you know, unload a quarterback that you might not need
- 27:51Speaker 5: for assets. Like I just I think you should constantly
- 27:54Speaker 5: be in that club. Now, the Joe Milton thing that
- 27:56Speaker 5: might be a little bit a little bit extreme in
- 27:58Speaker 5: that end, but I just think generally, if you're developing quarterbacks,
- 28:00Speaker 5: you've got quarterbacks to offer the rest.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Of the league. It's it's a good thing for everybody.
- 28:04Speaker 4: So I just I would be very cautious.
- 28:06Speaker 5: I mean I was cautious with Mac Jones too, Like,
- 28:08Speaker 5: as bad as he was and as much as I
- 28:10Speaker 5: thought it was broken here, you just you don't want
- 28:12Speaker 5: to be flippant about an asset at that at that position,
- 28:15Speaker 5: you know, And that's when we get into the Milton stuff.
- 28:17Speaker 4: That's the only place where I can kind.
- 28:18Speaker 5: Of live and be like, okay, Like, the most important
- 28:21Speaker 5: thing to the Patriots is not that Drake May develops
- 28:23Speaker 5: a quarterback.
- 28:23Speaker 4: The most important thing to the Patriots that they find
- 28:25Speaker 4: a quarterback, come hell or high water.
- 28:27Speaker 5: You know, it doesn't have to be necessarily Drake May.
- 28:29Speaker 5: But you know, we don't have to get into all
- 28:31Speaker 5: the you know, the psychological elements of that.
- 28:33Speaker 4: But I think that is the bottom line. Though this
- 28:35Speaker 4: team needs a quarterback.
- 28:36Speaker 8: All right, anything else league wide we need to just
- 28:38Speaker 8: put on the table.
- 28:39Speaker 7: You can do that.
- 28:40Speaker 4: First we talk about the schedule, schedule next week.
- 28:43Speaker 5: It seems like it doesn't seem like next week seems
- 28:45Speaker 5: like it, right, And that's what Florio said.
- 28:46Speaker 8: Yeah, well, hey, Patriots fans, if you want to see
- 28:49Speaker 8: Toyota's best offers, including those not seen on TV, go
- 28:52Speaker 8: to buy at toyota dot com. It's Toyota's official website
- 28:56Speaker 8: for deals from the official vehicle the New England Patriots, Toyota.
- 28:59Speaker 8: What's places that we've never gone on the Brady Roast,
- 29:02Speaker 8: I mean wow.
- 29:04Speaker 4: I mean, Nikki Glazer definitely went to some of those places.
- 29:06Speaker 8: All right, Okay, so we might as well get to
- 29:09Speaker 8: the listeners, right sure, Yeah, I mean, I mean, I
- 29:12Speaker 8: mean I will.
- 29:13Speaker 5: To Paul's point, the schedule next week, I mean, I
- 29:15Speaker 5: think that's an interesting thing. There's definitely some some interesting.
- 29:18Speaker 7: Continue to talk about London, Reese throughout the possibility of
- 29:22Speaker 7: a West Coast well, Arizona, San Francisco, twin Bill. So
- 29:26Speaker 7: staying out in the West for a week.
- 29:29Speaker 4: You said, we're like the Beatles in London London, right, Paul?
- 29:32Speaker 4: Is that I mean? Maybe I was?
- 29:34Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, I was. I was, Paul.
- 29:37Speaker 8: Paul and Andy wouldn't come out from behind the velvet rope.
- 29:40Speaker 7: I did, and wouldn't He made me go and get
- 29:42Speaker 7: the beer all the time.
- 29:44Speaker 3: But then you don't want to talk to these people.
- 29:46Speaker 7: They talk funny, But.
- 29:49Speaker 4: These are your people. Go talk to them, correct.
- 29:51Speaker 7: And I would go out and I would start talking,
- 29:53Speaker 7: and then sure enough people would just bringing me beers.
- 29:55Speaker 7: It was like the greatest thing ever, like a hot
- 29:57Speaker 7: girl at the bar. I don't know what the hot pot.
- 30:03Speaker 5: People just hot back then, tell you how great I
- 30:07Speaker 5: love you.
- 30:07Speaker 7: I still had my fastball back then.
- 30:09Speaker 8: All right, eight five five past five hundred is the
- 30:11Speaker 8: ACE ticket houtline. Web radio at patriot dot com is
- 30:14Speaker 8: the email address. Phones are stacking up, so let's get
- 30:17Speaker 8: to them. Nelson's in La.
- 30:19Speaker 3: What's up? Nelson?
- 30:22Speaker 4: Hey Nelson? Hello?
- 30:24Speaker 13: What's time today?
- 30:28Speaker 3: That it doesn't really matter?
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm doing good man.
- 30:32Speaker 13: I enjoyed that comedy thing this weekend.
- 30:35Speaker 14: I went to it.
- 30:36Speaker 15: It was fun.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Oh you were there?
- 30:38Speaker 8: Yes?
- 30:39Speaker 3: Oh wow? How what tell us what that was like?
- 30:42Speaker 13: My favorite party? When she said I can't believe you
- 30:45Speaker 13: fall bitcoin.
- 30:48Speaker 3: O morning, that was great.
- 30:52Speaker 11: It was a great.
- 30:53Speaker 8: But I'm more interested like being in the arena.
- 30:56Speaker 3: What was that like?
- 30:58Speaker 7: It was nice?
- 30:59Speaker 13: It was It was good.
- 31:00Speaker 16: I liked it, Like for me to not not to
- 31:03Speaker 16: see Tom.
- 31:03Speaker 13: Brady and everybody play because I'm from Los Angeles, I
- 31:07Speaker 13: could never go and see Tom Brady play.
- 31:09Speaker 15: So for me it was good.
- 31:10Speaker 13: It was like a birthday gift for me.
- 31:11Speaker 8: How much did it cost to get in? If you
- 31:12Speaker 8: don't mind me asking?
- 31:14Speaker 17: My ticket was one sixty?
- 31:16Speaker 3: Okay, that's not bad.
- 31:18Speaker 15: Yeah, it was good. I liked it. Yeah, the Dynasty.
- 31:21Speaker 17: Was right there, Bronk, I was I didn't even I
- 31:23Speaker 17: was surprised that Bronk.
- 31:24Speaker 13: And Bill better take an out of.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Them right there.
- 31:27Speaker 8: Yeah, it was well, so I know they were drinking
- 31:32Speaker 8: down there, but where you were sitting, like, you know,
- 31:34Speaker 8: was there food and stuff like was it like a
- 31:37Speaker 8: normal sporting event.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Yeah, to drink minimum.
- 31:40Speaker 13: Yeah that food that had drink the hell.
- 31:42Speaker 3: That's great. That's awesome.
- 31:44Speaker 4: It was good.
- 31:45Speaker 13: It was the chairs were comfortable. Everything was nice.
- 31:47Speaker 3: That's that's cool.
- 31:48Speaker 4: They're like souvenirs or anything that t shirts.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 13: Hey, I love your podcast. I always listen to y'all,
- 31:54Speaker 13: even though I don't call most of the time.
- 31:55Speaker 17: But you know, Patriots all the way.
- 31:57Speaker 3: All right, thanks Nelson.
- 31:58Speaker 8: Sounds like he wanted to go.
- 31:59Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Raised in Atlanta. What's that right?
- 32:03Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Ray.
- 32:06Speaker 4: It's like.
- 32:10Speaker 2: You get to refill.
- 32:13Speaker 8: I guess Ray's gone, Ray, Ray, people will come raise gone.
- 32:19Speaker 7: People will definitely.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Ford in Savannah.
- 32:24Speaker 8: Uh, that's that's Georgia, right, says I love the Rose.
- 32:28Speaker 8: It had me cracking up. It's a testament to how
- 32:30Speaker 8: great all these guys are. It felt like Festivus, a
- 32:34Speaker 8: great airing of grievances. Gronk's glass shot spike being the
- 32:38Speaker 8: fear of strength or the feet of strength. These guys
- 32:41Speaker 8: have done everything as good as they have ever done
- 32:43Speaker 8: all down the line, and this was another example of that.
- 32:46Speaker 8: Takes humor and real humility for all these guys to
- 32:49Speaker 8: do this. Who else has climbed to the very top
- 32:52Speaker 8: of the profession and been opened to put it all
- 32:55Speaker 8: out there publicly? Can't say enough how much I respect
- 32:58Speaker 8: all of them.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, we.
- 33:03Speaker 9: Were talking that a little bit about that yesterday, just
- 33:04Speaker 9: how like who else could create this effect?
- 33:08Speaker 2: And like what other athlete?
- 33:10Speaker 4: And I don't think.
- 33:12Speaker 9: Bill Simmons had a good point on his show about
- 33:15Speaker 9: how like you couldn't really do it with an NBA
- 33:17Speaker 9: player because their egos are so big, Like it would
- 33:20Speaker 9: be hard to get the right guy and to do it.
- 33:22Speaker 2: The way they did it yesterday.
- 33:24Speaker 9: Durant, right, Kevin Durant.
- 33:31Speaker 7: In the opening credits.
- 33:32Speaker 9: He wouldn't be able to wait for his turn. He
- 33:34Speaker 9: would just be sealing the mic to clap back at everyone.
- 33:37Speaker 7: Drake and Kendrick.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Yeah right, Wow, that's the whole thing.
- 33:41Speaker 7: Huh, that's pretty funny.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Evan was breaking it down for me up up above.
- 33:45Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I got enough of that at home Alec
- 33:49Speaker 8: in Connecticut. Did anyone else feel like they finally got
- 33:52Speaker 8: closure after the roast. We talked about that earlier. I've
- 33:55Speaker 8: been waiting for this. I thought the roast was very good.
- 33:58Speaker 8: And I give a lot of credit to Bill for
- 34:00Speaker 8: all these appearances he's doing. Side question in ten years,
- 34:03Speaker 8: could Brady be the coach of the Patriots?
- 34:05Speaker 7: No? No, no, so I saw on of course this
- 34:13Speaker 7: NBC Sports Boston. If you're got the Celtics show anymore,
- 34:16Speaker 7: I don't do that one. Yeah, I don't do that.
- 34:19Speaker 7: I think I I aged out.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Of the demography like you no more.
- 34:24Speaker 7: But I heard Holly and Felger a sort of getting
- 34:29Speaker 7: into their show and they let off with the roast,
- 34:31Speaker 7: and and Holly just continuing something that Fred and I
- 34:35Speaker 7: have been talking about a lot, like with the Wickersham
- 34:37Speaker 7: stories and all that stuff. It's just like it was
- 34:40Speaker 7: another validation of all of the stuff that we've talked
- 34:43Speaker 7: about for ten fifteen years of being accurate. Yeah, and
- 34:48Speaker 7: so like Mike's point about there being a little bit
- 34:50Speaker 7: of a cathartic nature, like if you didn't believe that
- 34:55Speaker 7: this stuff was really real like all along, then was
- 35:00Speaker 7: very cathartic for you because now you've finally accepted it, right,
- 35:03Speaker 7: So now you can move on. But like I don't
- 35:06Speaker 7: know if you if you haven't, if you if you
- 35:08Speaker 7: didn't get it from watching the documentary and you didn't
- 35:11Speaker 7: get it from reading you know, five different ESPN expose
- 35:16Speaker 7: is then I'm not sure you'll ever gonna you're ever
- 35:19Speaker 7: gonna get it until they finally said it themselves, and
- 35:22Speaker 7: now you can sort of move on. For those of
- 35:24Speaker 7: you don't know, Alex is the snake oil salesman who
- 35:27Speaker 7: transformed Tom into a total fucking weirdome.
- 35:31Speaker 8: It was a good line, good line.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Uh, it'd be interesting to me how this kind of
- 35:36Speaker 5: feeds into June twelfth too. And you know, this is
- 35:39Speaker 5: almost like we all like kind of got some stuff
- 35:42Speaker 5: out and hopefully June twelfth becomes more, you know, kind
- 35:45Speaker 5: of celebration you want.
- 35:47Speaker 8: To give the We had the Brady Roast, now we'll
- 35:49Speaker 8: have the Brady Toast.
- 35:54Speaker 7: Yeah, he works shopped at a little bit.
- 35:55Speaker 4: But I believe you. I believe you.
- 35:58Speaker 8: Now we have the Brady Day coming here on June twelfth.
- 36:01Speaker 8: It'll be very different than what we watched Sunday night,
- 36:05Speaker 8: but it's going to be a great another great event
- 36:08Speaker 8: for Tom. Yeah, the few surprises. I don't want to
- 36:11Speaker 8: give it away, but hopefully.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Every bid as much fun and a lot of the
- 36:16Speaker 5: same personalities. Yeah, that's uh, the Summer of Brady, the
- 36:21Speaker 5: Spring of Brandy continues.
- 36:23Speaker 8: Uh being Fresno curious if Evan watched the Roast? Did
- 36:26Speaker 8: he watch he did, or if he's too much of
- 36:29Speaker 8: a football guy to be bothered with him music.
- 36:31Speaker 7: Well, I will say I saw one tweet from Evan
- 36:33Speaker 7: and it was the lamest tweet ever, and I'll say
- 36:35Speaker 7: it to him when he gets here. You know, the
- 36:39Speaker 7: best line of the night was Bill Belichick saying that
- 36:41Speaker 7: Rodney Harrison should be in the Hall of Fame. That
- 36:43Speaker 7: was the biggest joke of the night, is that Rodney's
- 36:45Speaker 7: not in the Hall of Fame. That's got the football coming.
- 36:48Speaker 7: That's your takeaway from from what everybody agrees is one
- 36:51Speaker 7: of the more entertaining nights that they've seen.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Bill had like six jokes he likes ball.
- 36:57Speaker 7: That's not actually a joke.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Football related, Joe.
- 37:00Speaker 9: I think that Bill had was when obviously him and
- 37:03Speaker 9: Danny avint Dol have some animosity and Danny's been taking
- 37:07Speaker 9: his shots respectively, and clearly Bill is listening because it
- 37:10Speaker 9: took Bill three sentences to just destroy Dannyman.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, just about his production.
- 37:15Speaker 4: It was so funny.
- 37:16Speaker 8: I loved it, he says. Sometimes I wonder if Evan
- 37:20Speaker 8: is as allergic to fun as Eric was. Anyway, Nicki
- 37:23Speaker 8: Glazer was amazing.
- 37:26Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely, big winner, I would say from Sunday Night
- 37:29Speaker 7: was Nicky Glazer.
- 37:30Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 8: By the way, I heard Eric got a job communications
- 37:33Speaker 8: director for like the mayor. I don't know that the
- 37:36Speaker 8: mayor of Providence, like or the mayor of a smaller.
- 37:39Speaker 7: Really, ye can't be small town mayor can't have gotten
- 37:43Speaker 7: a job of Providence. Hold on, I thought there was
- 37:47Speaker 7: a I was waiting for the punch. I was waiting
- 37:50Speaker 7: for the toast and the roast like I was waiting
- 37:52Speaker 7: for the rest.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Who's Mayor Smiley.
- 37:56Speaker 7: That's Providence guy Smiley.
- 37:58Speaker 8: So he oh he's uh, Eric as director of communications
- 38:04Speaker 8: for Mayor Smiley.
- 38:05Speaker 7: So he's in like.
- 38:06Speaker 5: The West wing of Providence. If they made a West Wing,
- 38:08Speaker 5: he would be a prominent character.
- 38:10Speaker 7: Eric Scalavino I really thought that I was safe in
- 38:14Speaker 7: not being passed by by that one, but had another
- 38:17Speaker 7: one to the list.
- 38:20Speaker 8: Well, you think communications director is bigger than the job
- 38:23Speaker 8: you have right now.
- 38:24Speaker 7: Yes, I'm sure it pays more. Okay, I'm not sure
- 38:27Speaker 7: about that, but anyway, I'm sure it has the ability
- 38:30Speaker 7: to earn more in the future as well, which I
- 38:32Speaker 7: don't have.
- 38:33Speaker 8: Yeah, but that's pretty cool.
- 38:35Speaker 5: I mean it's got some notoriety too, Like Paul. I mean,
- 38:37Speaker 5: you know, people walk around and like, hey, is that
- 38:40Speaker 5: Eric Scalavino, like from Pete No, from the mayor's office.
- 38:43Speaker 4: He's a powerful man. Yeah, he runs he runs the show.
- 38:46Speaker 2: He's gonna be running like the press conferences.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Of the don't you feel like Providence is gonna somehow
- 38:50Speaker 4: hate him at some point.
- 38:52Speaker 5: He's gonna he's gonna be like staunch for something that's
- 38:55Speaker 5: completely unpopular, and he's like they just.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Vegetables to deal with it, Like, you know, like who
- 39:00Speaker 4: is this guy?
- 39:01Speaker 3: I'm so excited for this.
- 39:02Speaker 11: He's gonna be on w p R O now giving interviews.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Oh wow, Oh that's great.
- 39:06Speaker 4: It's like Rhode Island, like I will call in.
- 39:09Speaker 5: It's not like one of those shows where they grill
- 39:10Speaker 5: you and they put you, you know, and you have to
- 39:12Speaker 5: like take.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Political stands and stuff.
- 39:14Speaker 7: Good for Eric. That's sounds like.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Stuff to do with cats. Probably there'll be some kind
- 39:21Speaker 5: of like initiative with cats.
- 39:22Speaker 8: Oh yeah, they're going to start a whole new nobody asking.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Them about And so we understand, Eric, you're also writing
- 39:29Speaker 4: a book about Africa. Tell us more about this, right,
- 39:32Speaker 4: it's been in the works for twenty years.
- 39:37Speaker 7: Sneaky, sneaky.
- 39:40Speaker 4: I couldn't help it. It's the whole thing, is a
- 39:42Speaker 4: whole thing. Just picture Eric. Suddenly Fred and I are
- 39:44Speaker 4: right out there.
- 39:45Speaker 7: Everybody's in the stick shouts that we take you. I
- 39:48Speaker 7: lay in the weeds.
- 39:49Speaker 4: You know, you don't even realize that all of a sudden,
- 39:51Speaker 4: naked right in the head. There you go.
- 39:54Speaker 11: All right?
- 39:54Speaker 8: Eight five five pats five hundred is the ACE ticket
- 39:57Speaker 8: hutline web radio at patries dot com.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 40:01Speaker 8: Ashton writes in do you guys think now that Belichick
- 40:04Speaker 8: is gone, well, Drake may have to earn his number
- 40:07Speaker 8: in training camp by starting with the number fifty like
- 40:10Speaker 8: we've done in the past. Oh nope, we already know
- 40:12Speaker 8: these number.
- 40:12Speaker 7: Ten correct, And I would I'm gonna die on the
- 40:16Speaker 7: hill on this. That bill did that to mess with
- 40:19Speaker 7: the media, not to make rookie's earned numbers really completely
- 40:23Speaker 7: convinced of it. Just all of a sudden, you know,
- 40:26Speaker 7: sixteen years into his tenure, he starts giving rookies numbers
- 40:30Speaker 7: in the fifties. I think that was an attempt to
- 40:34Speaker 7: optu skip if you remember, it started in the spring
- 40:38Speaker 7: with no numbers on the jerseys at all. The first yet,
- 40:43Speaker 7: they had no numbers at all for anybody, veteran or rookie.
- 40:48Speaker 7: And then of course Fred insert name here complained to PFWA. Yep,
- 40:56Speaker 7: and they put numbers on and they said, I'll show
- 40:59Speaker 7: them the rookies all had these numbers. But it took
- 41:03Speaker 7: us I don't know, thirty five seconds to realize the
- 41:06Speaker 7: sequence that they went in. Right, Oh, it's just so right,
- 41:09Speaker 7: So you figured it out.
- 41:10Speaker 8: But I don't think it was about the media.
- 41:13Speaker 7: I mean, why else would you have no numbers at
- 41:15Speaker 7: all for anybody?
- 41:16Speaker 8: Because I think that, you know, he was maybe sensing
- 41:19Speaker 8: that these guys are coming in with more attitude than
- 41:21Speaker 8: they used to cut to do, and you know, I
- 41:24Speaker 8: want to make sure that they realize that. You know,
- 41:27Speaker 8: you have to earn every everything with a capital E,
- 41:30Speaker 8: not just your job, but everything.
- 41:32Speaker 7: You were in the majority. Okay, you are in the majority.
- 41:36Speaker 7: I am in the minority.
- 41:37Speaker 8: I mean the Cowboys. You're not even allowed to have
- 41:39Speaker 8: the star in your helmet, and that's been the tradition forever.
- 41:42Speaker 7: Incorrect. He didn't just invent it, like seventeen years in.
- 41:45Speaker 7: That's why I don't buy it.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't know, Maybe I buy it.
- 41:50Speaker 7: I think he was annoyed with the amount of attention
- 41:53Speaker 7: that we were giving those guys and he wanted them
- 41:56Speaker 7: to earn that attention before, which I think is why
- 41:59Speaker 7: they started. I mean for years, they had rookie mini
- 42:02Speaker 7: camp open for a long time. Yeah, and then they stopped.
- 42:06Speaker 7: I think it's all part and parcel to that.
- 42:09Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 42:09Speaker 8: I think I think he might have been a little
- 42:11Speaker 8: prescient and he could see what was coming with these
- 42:14Speaker 8: kids coming out of college, and he wanted to make
- 42:16Speaker 8: sure that once you get here, you know you're starting
- 42:20Speaker 8: from scratch.
- 42:21Speaker 7: So, Evan, you've been on the show now for fifteen seconds,
- 42:24Speaker 7: so I want to come clean. I took a rocket
- 42:26Speaker 7: shot at you for your tweet about Rodney Harrison and
- 42:29Speaker 7: Bill Belichick. I just thought that was your takeaway familiar
- 42:32Speaker 7: before the.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Twitter people be like, oh, oh okay.
- 42:36Speaker 7: So I thought that was the lame.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Okay, well I think you found the one football thing.
- 42:42Speaker 4: You highlighted the one.
- 42:44Speaker 7: Someone so to give you all the background. Someone wrote
- 42:47Speaker 7: it and said did ever actually watch the or was
- 42:49Speaker 7: there just not enough football in it for him?
- 42:51Speaker 6: I go, well, that's fun Well it's funny because earlier
- 42:55Speaker 6: in the day Jess asked me, She's like, we're gonna
- 42:57Speaker 6: watch the Roast and I was like, no, I don't
- 42:59Speaker 6: want to watch the Rose. I don't have time for that.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Uh and what were you doing Sunday night?
- 43:04Speaker 4: It didn't break?
- 43:05Speaker 6: I was watching getting there, you know I I I
- 43:07Speaker 6: didn't at first. I was like, there's not enough like
- 43:10Speaker 6: nerd football stuff for me, Like it's jokes, like I
- 43:12Speaker 6: don't have time for Yeah, and then there was nothing
- 43:15Speaker 6: on and there was nothing on on Sunday nights. I
- 43:18Speaker 6: was like, all right, final, like we can turn it on.
- 43:20Speaker 6: And within five minutes I was like, oh, I'm so
- 43:22Speaker 6: glad we're watching this Like this is I.
- 43:24Speaker 7: Had any idea it was going to be that funny.
- 43:27Speaker 7: I would have absolutely watched it. I just didn't think
- 43:30Speaker 7: I hadn't. Oh no, I'll see it. But now it's
- 43:33Speaker 7: you know it mean, it's obviously past the time, and
- 43:35Speaker 7: I already feel like I saw the whole thing. Yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 7: because everybody is talking about every joke, like there's so
- 43:41Speaker 7: many the original jokes well and also changed. You know,
- 43:47Speaker 7: I'm destined to watch this and I'm going to say,
- 43:49Speaker 7: is that it she.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Won't watch Jaws? But you know the roast.
- 43:53Speaker 7: Laugh like that, watch it can but it's not supposed to.
- 43:57Speaker 6: I'm not sure who enjoyed the roast more male Alex
- 43:59Speaker 6: or female out I don't know.
- 44:05Speaker 8: When you watch it live, you see the cutaways of
- 44:07Speaker 8: the reaction and like, you know, like.
- 44:13Speaker 6: I just thought, Kevin Hart said such a great tone
- 44:17Speaker 6: of like we're gonna go there, like this is not
- 44:18Speaker 6: gonna be a PC Rose, like we are going to
- 44:22Speaker 6: divorces on the table. Everything is on the table and
- 44:25Speaker 6: we're just gonna go after it. And you know, it was.
- 44:30Speaker 6: It was pretty good. There was a couple of acts
- 44:31Speaker 6: that I I felt like probably didn't need to happen,
- 44:34Speaker 6: but the people that I wanted to see were great.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Evan you excited about Rooky Mini.
- 44:41Speaker 6: Camp, Yes, and no. I imagine that the one hour that
- 44:46Speaker 6: it sounds like we're going to be out there for
- 44:48Speaker 6: is gonna be a whole lot of nothing. But I
- 44:51Speaker 6: think it will be good to to hear from people
- 44:53Speaker 6: and we're going to talk to We're gonna talk to Drake.
- 44:55Speaker 6: May it sounds like, But in terms of the actual practice,
- 44:59Speaker 6: I am ex expecting this to be oh yeah, literally
- 45:02Speaker 6: nothing which.
- 45:04Speaker 4: Went out stress.
- 45:05Speaker 3: It'll be a crawl through.
- 45:07Speaker 4: If we get to like.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Setting up who goes where in the huddle, I think
- 45:10Speaker 5: it would be wow, Like that's as close to football.
- 45:12Speaker 6: I just want to see him throw the ball man, Like,
- 45:14Speaker 6: you know, it's just like in a live setting, you know.
- 45:16Speaker 6: And I understand we're not going to see pads and
- 45:18Speaker 6: all that obviously, but just in terms of seeing I've
- 45:23Speaker 6: saw him at his pro day, but it would be
- 45:25Speaker 6: great to just get like we get one seven on
- 45:27Speaker 6: seven period or something, you know, just to see us
- 45:31Speaker 6: to see him actually throw against competition and not just
- 45:33Speaker 6: throw against air, would be great.
- 45:35Speaker 8: Yep, all right, Norman writes in earlier conversation about Zappie
- 45:41Speaker 8: and Prissette. They may be close in terms of talent.
- 45:43Speaker 8: I'm guessing they brought in Jacoby to mentor Drake until
- 45:46Speaker 8: he's ready. I can't imagine Zappi is ready to mentor
- 45:49Speaker 8: anybody at this point, considering his lack of experience.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I agree with you.
- 45:52Speaker 7: That's that's why he wants to play like he wants
- 45:55Speaker 7: to be the guy. Yeah, I agree with that now
- 45:57Speaker 7: mentality absolutely similar or another.
- 46:01Speaker 6: Wait this real quick, why did you Why didn't you
- 46:03Speaker 6: like my Rodney Harrison tweet?
- 46:05Speaker 7: Because I just think everybody is like falling all over
- 46:07Speaker 7: them I didn't see it, so in full disclosure, I
- 46:10Speaker 7: saw your tweet. I saw your tweet. I didn't see
- 46:12Speaker 7: the ropes like everybody was falling all over themselves, like
- 46:15Speaker 7: this is the greatest thing I've ever seen, and this
- 46:18Speaker 7: is so funny, and then every it's like the best
- 46:21Speaker 7: line of the night.
- 46:26Speaker 3: You think that was the best line of the night.
- 46:28Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 46:29Speaker 6: It wasn't. It wasn't the funniest line of the night.
- 46:31Speaker 6: Of course not. No, he didn't true the best was
- 46:34Speaker 6: it the best line? And nothing has been more true
- 46:37Speaker 6: out of all the bs that they was the most
- 46:41Speaker 6: truth that was spoken on that stage was what the heck?
- 46:44Speaker 6: With the probably famine? Rodney Harrison love.
- 46:47Speaker 4: It and building because of me?
- 46:50Speaker 6: It loved every second of it.
- 46:52Speaker 7: Okay, so I didn't overstate it. I did misrepresent it
- 46:56Speaker 7: that I'm owning what you said.
- 47:00Speaker 8: Eight five to five, pass five hundred. Let's go all
- 47:03Speaker 8: the way to Spain where James is there? Hey James, Hey.
- 47:07Speaker 16: Man, I have I have a question here about our
- 47:11Speaker 16: draft class. I guess I'm wondering if we know anything
- 47:14Speaker 16: about this guy Marcella's dial, if he has any potential
- 47:17Speaker 16: move over top. We kind of lacked that the rangey
- 47:22Speaker 16: over top safety since.
- 47:23Speaker 15: Devin mccordy left.
- 47:24Speaker 16: And I really want to see Dugger and.
- 47:30Speaker 7: The other guy.
- 47:31Speaker 16: They're trying to move the safety play closer to the line.
- 47:34Speaker 6: Poo.
- 47:34Speaker 16: Yeah, they seem to be doing better there.
- 47:37Speaker 4: What do you guys think I would just say?
- 47:39Speaker 5: I actually I'm writing his profile. I talked to the coach,
- 47:42Speaker 5: Shane Biemer about him a little bit. Doesn't really sound
- 47:44Speaker 5: I did ask him that about, you know, how versatile
- 47:46Speaker 5: he is for the second are It didn't sound like
- 47:48Speaker 5: he really had a lot of high hopes for him
- 47:49Speaker 5: being a free safety type. But he did thought that
- 47:51Speaker 5: he did think that he can move around, you know,
- 47:54Speaker 5: at the cornerback position. He can play a little bit inside,
- 47:56Speaker 5: but you know, he played all outside at at South Carolina.
- 47:59Speaker 5: And you know, I said, I said to him, I mean,
- 48:02Speaker 5: I think there's an opportunity for him, you know, I
- 48:04Speaker 5: mean it's Isaiah Bolden Alex position, like one of those
- 48:07Speaker 5: guys needs to come out. But I I I agree
- 48:10Speaker 5: though on the point just about free safety, it's it's
- 48:12Speaker 5: how's it gonna play out with Mapu kinda is he
- 48:14Speaker 5: going to get elevated at you know how I just
- 48:17Speaker 5: didn't like Dugger last year playing so far from the
- 48:18Speaker 5: line of scrimmage so much. It felt like it limited
- 48:20Speaker 5: the amount of plays he could make. And and really
- 48:22Speaker 5: I think the perfect fit was, you know, having a
- 48:24Speaker 5: Darron Harmon, you know, just a guy at them on
- 48:26Speaker 5: the back end for third downs, to to really let
- 48:29Speaker 5: those guys, you know, Peppers and and and and Dougger
- 48:32Speaker 5: rome and make plays and do what they do best.
- 48:34Speaker 16: Okay, do you think that's something Jonathan Jones would switch
- 48:37Speaker 16: over the top or do you see something else on
- 48:39Speaker 16: the roster?
- 48:39Speaker 7: And already I could.
- 48:41Speaker 4: See that a little bit on third they can afford to.
- 48:44Speaker 6: But yeah, yeah, I don't necessarily understand the screaming desire.
- 48:51Speaker 6: I feel like we hear that a lot about Jonathan
- 48:52Speaker 6: Jones moving to free safety, and it's like he's he's
- 48:56Speaker 6: a really good corner and he's getting better, right, Yeah,
- 48:59Speaker 6: I mean he's he's probably he's definitely. I mean, like
- 49:03Speaker 6: we all love Gonzo, but Gonzo's only played four NFL
- 49:06Speaker 6: games in his career so far. Like Jonathan Jones is
- 49:09Speaker 6: mister reliable for them in that corner back room, And
- 49:11Speaker 6: I just I don't know how you where you turn
- 49:14Speaker 6: if if it's not him and Gonzo it being the
- 49:17Speaker 6: top two guys.
- 49:18Speaker 4: How was Gonzo by the way, he was good?
- 49:20Speaker 6: Yeah, he he was you know, deferred to the coaching
- 49:24Speaker 6: staff and the medical staff about his shoulder and participation
- 49:27Speaker 6: in the off season and in OTAs and stuff like that.
- 49:31Speaker 6: It was weird though, because he kind of caught himself
- 49:33Speaker 6: because he sat down and he said, I'm healthy, ready
- 49:35Speaker 6: to go, and then later on he was like, well,
- 49:37Speaker 6: I'm not saying all that, you know, like he's going
- 49:40Speaker 6: to be a full participant in all that kind of stuff.
- 49:41Speaker 6: So we'll see, but it definitely seems like he feels
- 49:45Speaker 6: like he caught it in the past, you know, the shoulder,
- 49:47Speaker 6: and it seems like he feels like he's ready to go.
- 49:50Speaker 8: Todd's in North Carolina. I hate Todd.
- 49:54Speaker 13: That's how you doing.
- 49:54Speaker 10: Okay, My question for you is I've heard all sorts
- 49:58Speaker 10: of different reports from the draft, right and then I've
- 50:02Speaker 10: heard different rankings and stuff that listening to Heart's New
- 50:05Speaker 10: shown and they had a guest on and he was saying, yeah,
- 50:07Speaker 10: they're about thirty first is where I ranked them out
- 50:10Speaker 10: of the thirty two teams. So just going into this year,
- 50:13Speaker 10: what do you think we should be expecting, Like, what
- 50:15Speaker 10: should we be happy with?
- 50:18Speaker 4: Uh?
- 50:19Speaker 5: Competitive team that's tough to beat and you know, just
- 50:22Speaker 5: that can score some points again after last year. I
- 50:24Speaker 5: mean that's you know, baseline of it. But I don't know,
- 50:27Speaker 5: everyone gets caught up in these rankings right now. I
- 50:29Speaker 5: think the Patriots they've got some they've got some interesting
- 50:33Speaker 5: guys to me now that they didn't really have last year.
- 50:35Speaker 5: And that's what the hope is that these young guys
- 50:37Speaker 5: develop and sooner the better.
- 50:39Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 50:40Speaker 10: Yeah, So you're looking for work to be done and
- 50:43Speaker 10: building the team a little bit further because I don't
- 50:46Speaker 10: think they're like I don't think they're a playoff team.
- 50:48Speaker 10: I don't even know if they're a five hundred team.
- 50:50Speaker 10: But if they're competitive, like you say, I think I will.
- 50:52Speaker 15: Be very happy.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you'll know it when you see it.
- 50:55Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, Yeah. I wouldn't get too much caught up
- 50:58Speaker 6: in the record in May. Right at the moment, right now,
- 51:02Speaker 6: I feel like it's all about eye tests, like does
- 51:04Speaker 6: Drake may look like he can play? Does some of
- 51:06Speaker 6: these receivers look like they can play in the league,
- 51:09Speaker 6: And then we'll worry about playoffs and all that kind
- 51:11Speaker 6: of stuff.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:12Speaker 7: I think that's the perfect way to look at it.
- 51:14Speaker 7: Just to have players on the team today that are
- 51:18Speaker 7: that are new, that weren't there last year, that looked
- 51:20Speaker 7: like they will be contributors. And if that's the answer
- 51:22Speaker 7: to that is yes, when we get to like November December,
- 51:25Speaker 7: I would say that's a positive sign, I think. I mean,
- 51:28Speaker 7: I used to tease about this all all of last
- 51:30Speaker 7: year about the competitive and I used to I used
- 51:34Speaker 7: to I never said the Patriots weren't competitive. I said
- 51:37Speaker 7: all games are competitive in the NFL. For the most part,
- 51:41Speaker 7: they were competitive last year. They just lost every one
- 51:43Speaker 7: of them, right, So I'm not going to get tied
- 51:47Speaker 7: up in well, they only lost twenty one seventeen, they're competitive.
- 51:52Speaker 7: But to Evan's point is is Polk and Baker two
- 51:57Speaker 7: of your best three receivers. I think that would be
- 51:59Speaker 7: a really positive sign, right, Yeah, you know, does Caden
- 52:04Speaker 7: Wallace have the ability to play left tackle? You know,
- 52:08Speaker 7: even if he's not starting right away, but you watch him,
- 52:10Speaker 7: you know, you watch him and he's playing left tackle
- 52:13Speaker 7: and when he plays, he's not out of place. That's
- 52:15Speaker 7: a positive sign. Now you might go five and thirteen
- 52:18Speaker 7: or whatever that five and on twelve math tough, But
- 52:24Speaker 7: does that is that better than last year? I would
- 52:27Speaker 7: say yes, yeah, if those things are happening.
- 52:29Speaker 6: Yeah, you look at a team. You know, so many
- 52:31Speaker 6: teams that break out, it usually starts at the tail
- 52:35Speaker 6: end of the year before. Yeah, like remembering like the
- 52:37Speaker 6: Lions a couple of years ago, they almost made the playoffs.
- 52:39Speaker 6: I think they went on like a nice winning streak
- 52:41Speaker 6: at the end of the year and then they had
- 52:42Speaker 6: another good draft class that offseason, and all of a sudden,
- 52:45Speaker 6: now they're, you know, a team that's for real. I
- 52:47Speaker 6: feel like the same thing with the Patriots. If their
- 52:49Speaker 6: arrow is pointing upward and guys are younger contributing, and
- 52:53Speaker 6: Drake May's playing and he looks the part, then it
- 52:56Speaker 6: might not be this year. But twenty twenty five might
- 52:58Speaker 6: be a year where they could start to talk about
- 53:01Speaker 6: playoffs really simplistic.
- 53:02Speaker 7: But Evan just hit it like if the quarterback is
- 53:05Speaker 7: playing in ascending as you get down the stretch. Yeah, yeah,
- 53:09Speaker 7: I don't care what the record is. That's that's a
- 53:11Speaker 7: good sign.
- 53:11Speaker 5: I think I'm excited to see these receivers because I'm
- 53:14Speaker 5: realizing with Patriots training camp, I've never really seen a
- 53:16Speaker 5: good good receivers a Patriots training camp.
- 53:18Speaker 4: Like we've seen him from other joint practices.
- 53:20Speaker 5: Certainly DeVante Adams was, you know, just crazy to watch
- 53:23Speaker 5: in practice, but you know, I just.
- 53:25Speaker 4: There haven't been like DeVante Parker was like the.
- 53:27Speaker 5: Crown jewel of their acquisitions over the last few years
- 53:31Speaker 5: when I've been here watching training camp.
- 53:32Speaker 4: So I'm just so curious how Polk and Bakers stand out.
- 53:36Speaker 4: What do they That's a good point.
- 53:37Speaker 7: I had said. If they're like two of your best
- 53:39Speaker 7: three receivers, and you're right, that's probably not going to
- 53:41Speaker 7: be good enough.
- 53:42Speaker 5: Like these guys are good where it's like I've seen
- 53:48Speaker 5: Nelson aguilor I've seen Kendrick Bourne and they're they're fine,
- 53:51Speaker 5: you know, but I'd like to see somebody not to
- 53:54Speaker 5: say that any of those guys are going to be
- 53:55Speaker 5: Devanta Adams, but like that just jumps off the field
- 53:57Speaker 5: that you you look at that and you're like, this
- 53:59Speaker 5: guy's a night mayor. You can see it from one
- 54:01Speaker 5: drill watching it, and you know, Kender, those all those
- 54:04Speaker 5: other guys that I named, it's it's kind of up
- 54:06Speaker 5: or down and if they're in the right place in
- 54:08Speaker 5: the play, they'll make the catch and maybe they'll they'll
- 54:10Speaker 5: get you some extra yards.
- 54:11Speaker 4: But there were no real guys that I've seen in
- 54:13Speaker 4: training camp that were game changers and oh geez, like
- 54:17Speaker 4: this guy's a problem.
- 54:18Speaker 5: Like I haven't experienced that yet as a member of this,
- 54:22Speaker 5: you know team covering the Patriots.
- 54:24Speaker 8: I haven't seen it, I tell you, I said at last,
- 54:25Speaker 8: But Baker's attitude sort of intrigues me.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Like this guy thinks he's pretty good.
- 54:30Speaker 5: Yeah, he's got a little less and you know, we'll see.
- 54:33Speaker 4: I know, I said boom er bus at the time.
- 54:35Speaker 4: I know some other people said that.
- 54:36Speaker 5: Too, but I mean, they just they need a boom,
- 54:39Speaker 5: they need they need to hit on one of these
- 54:40Speaker 5: receivers at some point.
- 54:41Speaker 8: This has been so long, yep, Mike writes in he
- 54:45Speaker 8: didn't like the roast, well, he says, he said, a
- 54:49Speaker 8: good roast can be done without the vulgarity. The F
- 54:51Speaker 8: word is thrown around loosely and people tend to laugh
- 54:54Speaker 8: no matter the punchline.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Call me a prude.
- 54:57Speaker 8: But I never would have let my children or grandchildren
- 54:59Speaker 8: watch such vault. Gary class has been thrown out the window.
- 55:02Speaker 8: One man's opinion.
- 55:04Speaker 7: Again, though, I would never tell anybody how to parent. Yeah,
- 55:08Speaker 7: but I don't think you should be let children watch.
- 55:12Speaker 6: That was not for the children.
- 55:13Speaker 8: If Jeffrey Ross is involved, don't watch if you're worried
- 55:16Speaker 8: about that.
- 55:17Speaker 7: But I mean, I mean, it's it's very disrespectful, you
- 55:21Speaker 7: know what I mean.
- 55:22Speaker 9: It was all he was specifically complaiming about of everything else.
- 55:25Speaker 6: Yeah, no, all that. I mean, look, there was a
- 55:26Speaker 6: lot of there's a lot of sex jokes. Obviously there
- 55:29Speaker 6: was F words. The only time that I felt like
- 55:32Speaker 6: I was I it went a little far from me
- 55:35Speaker 6: just as a Jewish person, we start bringing up Hitler
- 55:37Speaker 6: and stuff like that. I thought that entire set between
- 55:41Speaker 6: those two guys could have I was like, I.
- 55:42Speaker 7: Cut down on the radio they played that and I
- 55:45Speaker 7: mentioned that to you guys yesterday. I just didn't fight.
- 55:46Speaker 7: And I can understand where you're coming from as a
- 55:49Speaker 7: Jewish person. Yeah, I just didn't. I don't. I didn't
- 55:51Speaker 7: find it funny.
- 55:53Speaker 3: What about Edelman's line about Jeffery Ross.
- 55:55Speaker 6: Yeah, see that was like from Edelman though, like you know,
- 56:00Speaker 6: like we're we're part of the club, you know what
- 56:02Speaker 6: I mean. And I just I don't know if those
- 56:04Speaker 6: two guys are Jewish or not. But don't like be
- 56:08Speaker 6: comparing people to Hitler. It's it's not even funny like that.
- 56:11Speaker 6: It wasn't even funny.
- 56:13Speaker 2: I died more from Burt Krysler.
- 56:15Speaker 6: I mean, Chrysler does sound Jewish. Maybe he is a Jew,
- 56:18Speaker 6: but that's besides the point.
- 56:22Speaker 8: Let's see. Oh, this is a story that I forgot
- 56:26Speaker 8: who wrote it, but Calvin Anderson, Chris. I was wondering
- 56:30Speaker 8: if you guys watched the video from Calvin Anderson on
- 56:32Speaker 8: his illness last year.
- 56:35Speaker 7: I did not. But he had malaria, Like that's like
- 56:39Speaker 7: not your run of the mill, like malady Alex was.
- 56:42Speaker 4: Alex had been hoping to write.
- 56:43Speaker 2: That, tried to write this story and I faced a roadblock.
- 56:47Speaker 9: So it was really nice to clips today and see
- 56:51Speaker 9: that story ran.
- 56:51Speaker 7: Welcome to the party.
- 56:55Speaker 8: Oh so you got denied if you'd like to Was
- 56:57Speaker 8: it a timing thing? You think he wasn't ready at
- 56:59Speaker 8: the point at that point.
- 57:00Speaker 9: I don't know, because they restructured his contracts a short
- 57:03Speaker 9: time later.
- 57:04Speaker 2: So that was my first Oh interesting.
- 57:07Speaker 7: Yeah, well, I can give you a dossier of stories
- 57:11Speaker 7: that I've pitched, written, taking part in, and only to
- 57:17Speaker 7: see them come out in other places. First, it's not
- 57:20Speaker 7: the first, it's not the last, and do not take
- 57:22Speaker 7: it personally because it's not.
- 57:25Speaker 2: But I'm annoyed. Y, Yeah, I.
- 57:30Speaker 5: Mean that's the nightmare. And then he got like what
- 57:33Speaker 5: hit in the chest? And then he had like a
- 57:34Speaker 5: heart contusion? Was what the second thing was?
- 57:37Speaker 8: I mean series of unfortunate incidents.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like the ROAs.
- 57:44Speaker 6: And I knew you didn't see the roast and set
- 57:46Speaker 6: it upstairs.
- 57:48Speaker 4: He had press four buttons, but not because of that.
- 57:52Speaker 7: I just figured they would not do I didn't think
- 57:55Speaker 7: there was any chance that they would do anything Giselle
- 57:57Speaker 7: related of bad And evidently that was the best part,
- 58:02Speaker 7: Like I just had. I was way off in my expectations.
- 58:05Speaker 7: This was not like a personal crusade like I don't
- 58:08Speaker 7: believe in that. Like No, had I known it was
- 58:10Speaker 7: going to be as funny as you guys said it was,
- 58:12Speaker 7: i'd have been watching No.
- 58:14Speaker 6: No, I was more than Netflix of it all that.
- 58:16Speaker 6: I was worried for you about.
- 58:17Speaker 7: No like I may No I was the other night.
- 58:23Speaker 7: I was gonna say, I may have been watching a
- 58:24Speaker 7: different streaming service at the time. I was trying to
- 58:27Speaker 7: watch the Steve Martin documentary on Apple, but it was
- 58:29Speaker 7: not Sunday Night. Yeah, I heard good things.
- 58:32Speaker 4: Yeah, we're watch that.
- 58:34Speaker 8: This is a Celtics question actually, but maybe somebody here
- 58:37Speaker 8: can help Micah in Delaware. Now that we're in the playoffs,
- 58:39Speaker 8: I've been wanting to find a good Celtics podcast that
- 58:42Speaker 8: has covered similar to PU. The combination of good analysis
- 58:46Speaker 8: in decent audio quality seems to be hard to find.
- 58:49Speaker 8: Any recommendations alex Ox start j King.
- 58:53Speaker 9: If you're looking for kind of the vibe we have,
- 58:55Speaker 9: I think Jay King. I think he still does it
- 58:58Speaker 9: with Sam Packard. I can't attest the Jay King's audio quality.
- 59:02Speaker 6: But yeah, Corral still does lock on Celtics, right, which
- 59:06Speaker 6: is so very technical. Yeah, that's like if you are
- 59:09Speaker 6: into like the stuff that I that I provide.
- 59:12Speaker 7: Yeah, catch tens. Yeah, you'll learn a lot.
- 59:15Speaker 9: Honestly, And I'm.
- 59:17Speaker 6: Not trying to take any any any shots.
- 59:19Speaker 11: I love.
- 59:19Speaker 6: I love the Celtics speed and j King is great.
- 59:22Speaker 6: That's a great recommendation. You gotta go national when it
- 59:25Speaker 6: comes to the NBA.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Bill listen to Bill Simmons.
- 59:28Speaker 6: Got Yeah, you gotta go about.
- 59:29Speaker 2: The Celtics enough. And his show has been really good lately.
- 59:32Speaker 6: I think the national basketball podcasts are are definitely much
- 59:37Speaker 6: better than the local radio or podcast coverage.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Right now, Zach, maybe I haven't listened to Zach Loo.
- 59:43Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 59:43Speaker 6: I listened to Simmons every time as play a playoff
- 59:45Speaker 6: game and he puts out a pot about it. I
- 59:47Speaker 6: listened to Simmons.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Simmons has been good this year.
- 59:49Speaker 4: How do you find listening to Simmons with football though?
- 59:52Speaker 6: Oh I shut it off. But he has a Rosillo
- 59:56Speaker 6: on usually to talk hoops and and them together. They're
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: really really good. Yeah, they're they're really good.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: It's funny.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: He used to drive me nuts with I love you know,
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: Bill Simmon's shirt. But like when he talked Patriots, I'm like,
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: I don't think he was.
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: He should tell me Jeff Blake was better.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Than so it's been going back a while now.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: I don't mean.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I don't mean I saw Fred in Paul's faces and.
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: Said I used to work with him. He's another one
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: who dusted me.
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: I don't mean this to like brag or anything. But
- 1:00:24Speaker 8: the other teams, I don't think they would have a
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: podcast like ours, Like they'd be afraid to, you know,
- 1:00:30Speaker 8: like credit to the Crafts for allowing us to come
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: on and say what we feel and be honest and
- 1:00:35Speaker 8: all that. But like I couldn't see the Red Sox
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: having a podcast like this under their band.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Yeah, so if you're looking for this, the.
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: Red Sox certainly would never do anything with anything.
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it's Celtics coverage. Like there's a lot of really
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: good written work and like beat reporter type of work
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: for the Celtics when it comes to podcast, like I said,
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: you know, it's really you really have to listen to,
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: you know, the ESPN guys or Bill Simmons or something
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: like that. Like I remember the last off season when
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: they traded Marcus Smart and for Bizingis. It's like this
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: huge trade and I'm just looking for people that actually
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: know what they're talking about to listen to about this
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: trade and I had to go to Simmons and those guys.
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: He just he definitely can't turn on Pulse station.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: Does Brian Barrett still do things?
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: Yeah, he does the off the Pike.
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, for the Ringer, yeah yeah, so that might
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: be one.
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: Now, most of the ones that I know of are
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: all very analytical. Yeah, So if that's what you're looking for,
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: then I think all of these would be options. Like
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: Zach Lowe, and I completely understand that he knows the
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: league inside and out, but it's all yeah, it's all
- 1:01:49Speaker 7: just strict data. Yeah, you know, usage and five on
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: five and ISOs and if you want to know all
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: the percentages of all the different things, he doesn't exactly.
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: I just like to know who's good.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: There's no Jaws or anything to talk about Jaws at all, or.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Making fun of the analytics.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: You're either going to.
- 1:02:10Speaker 9: Have like a j King podcast or they get loose
- 1:02:12Speaker 9: with it and they're still basketball talk, or the other
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: end of the spectrum where it's very analytical but like
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: we we really blend it all.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I think hockey's got some good ones. I got shout out.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: My my brother in law started a podcast with another
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: ref called Chirping Zebras and they just had Ryan Whitney
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: on it from which is the Great?
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: You know that's like the spitting lipit and chick Lits
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: is like.
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: That before we almost lost his uh career.
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: Yeah, I know, I know, Spitting chick Lits. If you're
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: into the Bruins playoffs right now, they're they're great.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: And if you'd want a check, check out Chirp and Zebras.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: They're they're really two.
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: Refts And don't give out for your advertising here, dude,

- 1:04:17Speaker 19: And we are back with another edition of a PU
- 1:04:20Speaker 19: halftime show, Mattie's Ballmanair with Chris Cassidy.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: We got some trivia, all right? This is this?
- 1:04:25Speaker 19: This is some good stuff here, I think right. Question one,
- 1:04:29Speaker 19: how many career touchdown receptions did Jermaine Wiggins have as
- 1:04:33Speaker 19: a New England Patriot?
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: All right?
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: Question one?
- 1:04:36Speaker 19: Question two, how many career or how many playoff career
- 1:04:41Speaker 19: playoff rushing touchdowns did Antoine Smith have as a Patriot?
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: And question three?
- 1:04:47Speaker 19: What jersey numbers did Brian Hoyer wear as a New
- 1:04:51Speaker 19: England Patriot?
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:04:53Speaker 19: So, Chris, we spent last show talking about the Pats
- 1:04:57Speaker 19: draft class quick recap, but I also wanted to get
- 1:05:00Speaker 19: into some surprises and the we'll keep it to the
- 1:05:04Speaker 19: first round, maybe some second we can think of some
- 1:05:07Speaker 19: first round of just the whole draft, all right. And
- 1:05:11Speaker 19: I think the first one that comes to people's minds
- 1:05:13Speaker 19: is Michael Pennox, Michael Penick. And we mentioned this because
- 1:05:16Speaker 19: you know, for the the months, the grueling months leading
- 1:05:20Speaker 19: up to the draft, Pennix was one of those guys.
- 1:05:22Speaker 19: I was like, Oh, the Patriot's gonna trade that because
- 1:05:24Speaker 19: Pennix is there second rounder? Right, No, my boy went
- 1:05:27Speaker 19: at eight to the Falcons, who just paid Kirk Cousins
- 1:05:31Speaker 19: one hundred and eighty million dollars one hundred million guaranteed.
- 1:05:34Speaker 11: Before JJ McCarty, before.
- 1:05:36Speaker 19: JJ McCarthy, and and you know they didn't let Kirk
- 1:05:40Speaker 19: cousins know they were doing this much personally, I don't
- 1:05:42Speaker 19: care about that. Shut up, you're getting one hundred and
- 1:05:44Speaker 19: eighty million. That's a separate story. But like guys Penix,
- 1:05:48Speaker 19: I think he's great, one of the better natural passers
- 1:05:52Speaker 19: in the draft. I agree, but once again, injury history
- 1:05:57Speaker 19: and he's twenty four. I think he's twenty four. He
- 1:06:00Speaker 19: gonna be twenty five. Yeah, I don't know when he's
- 1:06:02Speaker 19: turning twenty five. But you know instantly Raheem Morris who
- 1:06:05Speaker 19: we saw at the combine, nice guy. Yeah, and I
- 1:06:08Speaker 19: don't know their GM's name. They were like, he's gonna sit.
- 1:06:11Speaker 19: So you're sitting a twenty four year old. And he
- 1:06:14Speaker 19: gave Kirk a four year contract, which you know, if
- 1:06:16Speaker 19: you look into it, potentially could be a two year contract.
- 1:06:18Speaker 19: There's still a lot of money to invest the guy
- 1:06:20Speaker 19: to then go take a quarterback. So I've heard a
- 1:06:22Speaker 19: couple of takes this, but Chris, let me let me
- 1:06:24Speaker 19: hear what you got on this.
- 1:06:25Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, I think Penmic's honestly isn't a bad pick.
- 1:06:28Speaker 11: I'm not saying it's a bad pick for Atlanta.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: There's nothing wrong with taking a quarterback, right.
- 1:06:32Speaker 11: And also if he's there, you're gonna take him from
- 1:06:35Speaker 11: the people that also want him, you know what I mean.
- 1:06:37Speaker 11: So it's like, what can we do with this? I
- 1:06:39Speaker 11: just think it's hard to come to terms with the
- 1:06:44Speaker 11: fact that they're gonna take him and have Oh, I'm
- 1:06:46Speaker 11: gonna have him developed a couple of years under Kirk Cousins,
- 1:06:48Speaker 11: because you just paid Kirk Cousins about ninety million dollars guaranteed.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: And then he wasn't happy, right, So it's.
- 1:06:53Speaker 11: Like, Okay, now we have a new guy, a new
- 1:06:57Speaker 11: quarterback with possible starter potential, and he's gonna play behind
- 1:07:06Speaker 11: a Kirk Cousins who's looking to now protect his job.
- 1:07:09Speaker 19: So so let me. I didn't mean to cut you
- 1:07:11Speaker 19: off here. I've heard a couple takes on this. Dani
- 1:07:14Speaker 19: Rolovski ESPN had a good one, and also I think
- 1:07:17Speaker 19: Ryan Clark said the same thing, which is just look
- 1:07:20Speaker 19: what happened to the Raiders. You know, if you take
- 1:07:22Speaker 19: Kirk Cousins, you think this is gonna work out the
- 1:07:24Speaker 19: way it's gonna work out, you're hopefully losing at minimum,
- 1:07:28Speaker 19: like you're hopefully at minimum winning ten games, which is
- 1:07:31Speaker 19: gonna put you in no man's land Raiders and you're screwed.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: So now when Kirk Cousins.
- 1:07:37Speaker 19: Who's what thirty six off the Achilles, which is not
- 1:07:39Speaker 19: an easy injury to come back, Horri say, it goes well,
- 1:07:43Speaker 19: like then you're just stuck in no man's land and
- 1:07:45Speaker 19: it's tough.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: Now on the flip side, let me.
- 1:07:48Speaker 19: Just redoce some of the picks that were available after
- 1:07:52Speaker 19: Pennis got taken, all right, instantly after it was Romadunze.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's tough.
- 1:07:56Speaker 19: You add Olu Fashanu, the ot Brock, Bauers was there, Latto,
- 1:08:03Speaker 19: Dallas Turner, that Jared Verse, like these guys needed an
- 1:08:06Speaker 19: edge rusher, Chop Robinson, Ye, a couple other dogs dogs
- 1:08:10Speaker 19: there all right, so it is tough, and there was
- 1:08:13Speaker 19: some Falcons fans were pretty mad.
- 1:08:15Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, I think just in general it seemed
- 1:08:17Speaker 11: like they're frustrations all across the board there, and I
- 1:08:20Speaker 11: it's hard to understand it again, But at the same time,
- 1:08:24Speaker 11: it's like, okay, like now you do have this guy
- 1:08:26Speaker 11: Michael Pendix. If you want to develop him, you can,
- 1:08:29Speaker 11: but I don't know how much developing he'll want to
- 1:08:31Speaker 11: do there. And also you don't want to be developing
- 1:08:34Speaker 11: him because Kirk Cousins is your guy technical.
- 1:08:35Speaker 19: Well, and then like let's say, let's say things go
- 1:08:37Speaker 19: to play, Like Kirk Cousins plays out three years. You know,
- 1:08:40Speaker 19: they get to the NFC Championship. I don't think the
- 1:08:42Speaker 19: Falons are only a super Bowl.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: To be honest.
- 1:08:43Speaker 19: But he goes off, maybe plays one year somewhere. My
- 1:08:48Speaker 19: boy pendix is twenty seven now, yeah, and like you
- 1:08:51Speaker 19: know that's that's uh. And then he's still learning developing,
- 1:08:54Speaker 19: but you know that you only get so much game time, right,
- 1:08:57Speaker 19: so and then you know, Kirk Cousins has a bad game,
- 1:09:00Speaker 19: the fans are gonna start booing because he got this
- 1:09:01Speaker 19: first round pick there.
- 1:09:02Speaker 11: Exactly so exactly. It's funny. I mean, the other teams
- 1:09:06Speaker 11: that will kind of step aside from Penetry because we
- 1:09:08Speaker 11: could talk about Yah for twenty minutes in and of itself.
- 1:09:10Speaker 11: But I mean, you think about what the Giants did.
- 1:09:13Speaker 11: I mean they're sticking with Danny Dimes.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: You got it, we got it.
- 1:09:17Speaker 11: So okay, so they got there. The league neighbors, he.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: Didn't look too happy to be there, but that's a
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: different story.
- 1:09:22Speaker 11: Well, did you see kool Age reaction to being a saint.
- 1:09:24Speaker 11: That was interesting. But yeah, so Neighbors is headed to
- 1:09:28Speaker 11: the Giants easily. I mean, all that talking about the
- 1:09:31Speaker 11: Vikings trading out and they still got a guy who
- 1:09:34Speaker 11: I think again, early on we were saying J. J.
- 1:09:38Speaker 11: McCarthy might not be the answer in the first round,
- 1:09:40Speaker 11: but you saw how fast these quarterbacks went off the board. Yeah,
- 1:09:43Speaker 11: and I mean the Vikings were lucky enough like to
- 1:09:46Speaker 11: be in that position that they had, that they earned,
- 1:09:49Speaker 11: like trading into those spots. I think that was a
- 1:09:52Speaker 11: big step for them and they were able to get
- 1:09:53Speaker 11: their guys.
- 1:09:53Speaker 19: Let's keep the QB stuff going because after JJ was
- 1:09:57Speaker 19: this was shocking.
- 1:09:58Speaker 11: Oh everybody, I mean, think about who the Broncos will
- 1:10:02Speaker 11: work them with right now though, Jared Stinham, Yeah, Zach Wilson,
- 1:10:06Speaker 11: I think it's Trevor Simmels. Ben Denucci's there.
- 1:10:10Speaker 19: But so that's the thing, like, are we are you
- 1:10:12Speaker 19: sure bo Knicks is is that much better? And then
- 1:10:15Speaker 19: Sean Payton's going, oh, I baited the other teams to
- 1:10:18Speaker 19: take it. This guy like that, you're not even in
- 1:10:19Speaker 19: your conference, Like.
- 1:10:21Speaker 11: You know me, I've been a believer in bo Knicks
- 1:10:23Speaker 11: for quite a while.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: Now at the number twelve pick.
- 1:10:26Speaker 11: No, but I've been a believer in bo Nicks and
- 1:10:29Speaker 11: I think his first couple of season in Auburn he
- 1:10:31Speaker 11: was okay, but he figured it out at Orgon and
- 1:10:35Speaker 11: I give him a lot of credit there. Also very
- 1:10:37Speaker 11: old by the way.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Sat Harry Old twenty four, twenty five.
- 1:10:41Speaker 11: Yeah, he's not very old, but he's Pennix Old.
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: Okay, And I think you know.
- 1:10:46Speaker 11: That pick for the Broncos for what was left. I
- 1:10:50Speaker 11: get why you had to do it because you have
- 1:10:52Speaker 11: no other option.
- 1:10:53Speaker 19: Then also speaks on like like like mac Jones going
- 1:10:56Speaker 19: to the Jags like as a like as he just
- 1:11:00Speaker 19: I don't know. I just think like also with the
- 1:11:01Speaker 19: Falcons or even the Broncos, like all right, you didn't
- 1:11:04Speaker 19: get your guy, like you're using that twelve pick. You
- 1:11:06Speaker 19: need to be locked in. You could have traded back
- 1:11:08Speaker 19: because then look what happened to the Raiders. I saw
- 1:11:11Speaker 19: a joke that they auto drafted. They got Brock Bowers,
- 1:11:14Speaker 19: who's a beast, but they took may Or last year
- 1:11:17Speaker 19: in the first or in the second round, like like
- 1:11:19Speaker 19: now they just have a bunch of tight ends with
- 1:11:21Speaker 19: Aidan O'Connell and minshew. So oh no, though, this is
- 1:11:25Speaker 19: unless I'll probably have to wrap up soon. But this
- 1:11:27Speaker 19: is one more that I have here that it's this is,
- 1:11:31Speaker 19: this is looking into the future. The Bills trading with
- 1:11:35Speaker 19: the Chiefs, the Kreefs get Worthy, which I like, I
- 1:11:39Speaker 19: knew Worthy was gonna fall to them. He was he
- 1:11:40Speaker 19: was gonna be in that area where they could you
- 1:11:42Speaker 19: get know, you win Super Bowl, you get a luxury pick. Listen,
- 1:11:45Speaker 19: the Bills ended up with Coleman. Worthy's there, you know,
- 1:11:48Speaker 19: he he's he's one seventy soaking wet. But listen, I'll
- 1:11:53Speaker 19: talk to you in December when Patrick Mahomes is scrambling
- 1:11:58Speaker 19: off a stupid penalty because of hip drop, so they
- 1:12:00Speaker 19: get the first down in the fourth quarter and he
- 1:12:02Speaker 19: throws a bomb to Worthy. What are we doing? What
- 1:12:05Speaker 19: are we doing? So so that's that's the crazy thing there,
- 1:12:09Speaker 19: I think, which will be interesting to see what happens.
- 1:12:11Speaker 11: Yeah, Chris, my others, I mean, I'm just trying to
- 1:12:13Speaker 11: think of you know, I'm kind of still stuck in
- 1:12:17Speaker 11: the broncos. I know you mentioned Worthy and that whole trade.
- 1:12:19Speaker 11: I mean, first of all, Bill's training with a team
- 1:12:21Speaker 11: that they literally can't be in the playoffs is hilarious
- 1:12:24Speaker 11: in and of itself. But you know, just feeding power
- 1:12:28Speaker 11: more power, yeah, is insane.
- 1:12:30Speaker 19: With a with a with a fifth year option now yeah,
- 1:12:32Speaker 19: but Chris, as always, thanks for joining and send your

- 1:13:16Speaker 6: them back, you know, to where they were when he
- 1:13:18Speaker 6: was there and things like that.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: And so is he still on the internet. I asked
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: about that yesterday.
- 1:13:24Speaker 7: I'm sure you know, I'm going to plead you want
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: his only fans account.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: You get a license for that thing.
- 1:13:33Speaker 7: That was a great That was a great moment in PFW.
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: And oh yeah, oh you guys discovered that.
- 1:13:40Speaker 7: A Google search of Brandon Spikes is junk, and Frank goes,
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: I have seen it.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: I have seen it, and then I said it in
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: the elevator yesterday, and then.
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: Paul starts grilling. Have you seen yes? Have you seen
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: SOA yeah.
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: I just go I don't get that. I have no

- 1:14:51Speaker 8: How many touchdowns did Jermaine Wiggans have with the Patriots?
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: Three's correct?
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: Seven incorrect? Five No five is corrective?
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: Oh nice job.
- 1:15:04Speaker 8: How many postseason touchdowns did Antoine Smith have with the Patriots?
- 1:15:10Speaker 11: Three? No?
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: Four? Postseason No? Two? Two? Only two?
- 1:15:17Speaker 8: And finally, what numbers did Brian Hoyer wear?
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: Two?
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: That's one, eight, that's two, six, No ten, ten, No five?
- 1:15:30Speaker 9: I knew, I knew five two.
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: Yep, that's a good one.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: Was he five last?
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: I think so?
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: I think I thought he was two. Wasn't he.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Most recently?
- 1:15:44Speaker 7: I think he was five? I think the last time
- 1:15:46Speaker 7: you played, I think right, And that's the one I missed.
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: I'll take your word for it.
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: You're the number one, if you'll take my word for it.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:15:55Speaker 8: So it's Duce, it's alex Evan, Paul, myself, Matt and
- 1:15:58Speaker 8: the booth. We're talking the break roast and rookie Minniecamp
- 1:16:01Speaker 8: and whatever else is.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: On your mind.
- 1:16:04Speaker 8: Eight five five pass five hundred is the eight ticket hotline.
- 1:16:06Speaker 8: Web radio at patus dot com is the email address.
- 1:16:09Speaker 8: Let's get back to the phones after our lunch break.
- 1:16:13Speaker 8: What you have Paul buff tuff Tenders. Nice Duncan is
- 1:16:18Speaker 8: in Hawaii. Hey, Duncan, Duncan, come on, you know, I
- 1:16:26Speaker 8: wanted to talk to somebody from Hawaii. That's too bad.
- 1:16:31Speaker 8: We got to get a better phone system. When people
- 1:16:34Speaker 8: hang up, it should say that they hung up.
- 1:16:36Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: Eldred's in North Carolina. What's up? Eldred? All right?
- 1:16:42Speaker 10: Hey?
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: Good?
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: He got a question. Bad if the receiver coach, you
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: think you can do something with Pope and.
- 1:16:56Speaker 17: Gosh tack on a any other wide receivers.
- 1:17:00Speaker 15: Didn't have him last year a wide receiver coach.
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: Last year, well, they had a wide receiver coach. Last
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: year's turned around. But now it's Tyler Hughes. No bro Okay,
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: well he had.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: To I got, I got, just had the title.
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: I get what you're saying. But he's a former wide
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: receiver coaching the wide receivers with the title of wide receivers.
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: He was coaching the he was coaching the flag team
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: this weekend. H I'm sure.
- 1:17:26Speaker 6: Yeah. Tyler Hughes is the new wide receivers coach who
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: was on the staff before before this a couple of
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: years ago, and then is U now was on the
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: staff at Washington last year coaching those receivers. So there
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: you go.
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: My guy just went.
- 1:17:44Speaker 6: In terms of how good he is at the job.
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: I yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:49Speaker 6: I mean, look, when you coach Roma dunes A, Jaalen Polkan,
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: Jaylen McMillan, I think that you have to prove that
- 1:17:54Speaker 6: you can do it with lesser talent first before we
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: crown you. But they obviously had a very good year
- 1:17:59Speaker 6: there at Washington last year with those receivers, so I
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: mean it's not a bad thing that they played well
- 1:18:07Speaker 6: under his tutelage. But there are also three really talented guys.
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: So we'll see.
- 1:18:11Speaker 8: If anyone wonders what Paul reacting to, it's Northeastern, thanks
- 1:18:16Speaker 8: all, all right?
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: They almost went back to back to back. They missed
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: it by about a foot.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Northeastern baseball. That's next to go, by the way, Paul,
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: next to Joe, next to go.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: What they're cutting it from.
- 1:18:29Speaker 7: It's one of the few successful programs. I ain't going anywhere.
- 1:18:32Speaker 8: They get to play the Red Sox every year in Florida.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Yeah, do you ever play the Did you get to
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: do that?
- 1:18:39Speaker 7: I did not because I didn't go to Norton.
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: You wouldn't know it doesn't play. They never get I
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: went to.
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: Gets to play the Red Sox right occasionally?
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: Yes, uh Tyler in New York City. I really like
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: the roast because they play at Fenway.
- 1:18:55Speaker 12: Though, Alex why telling Alex she asked them by play
- 1:19:00Speaker 12: the Red Sox And that was specifically Alex genuine curiosity.
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: If you're looking for some real baseball highlight to eighties,
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: I was there.
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: I could have throw this, put me in. We were
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: one state championship.
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: From the guy who's career moment was against Caius.
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: Just became the roast of that's good.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: The Ice Griffs are the solid program.
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: You know what, didn't roast? Wait a minute for a second, Paul.
- 1:19:35Speaker 8: Didn't we have a concept years ago when Eric was
- 1:19:40Speaker 8: here that we were going to have a.
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: Roast, did we? Yeah, like we would. When you take
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: turns roasting.
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: That's a good and you realize you liked your jobs and.
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: Basically the show already, I mean kind of the show
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: for you and I is a roast. We get killed
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: every show.
- 1:19:55Speaker 8: That might be a good idea though yeah clean though
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: oh well yeah of course, no.
- 1:20:01Speaker 6: What's the point of the roast And we're not gonna roast.
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: We don't need any the history of these roasts. It
- 1:20:08Speaker 8: used to be the Friars Club in New York was
- 1:20:10Speaker 8: like this club for a comedy and every year they
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: would do the Friars Club Roast and they'd pick a
- 1:20:16Speaker 8: different comedian to roast.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: And then I don't know.
- 1:20:18Speaker 8: What happened, if they ran out of money or something,
- 1:20:20Speaker 8: but then Dean Martin picked it up and on TV
- 1:20:23Speaker 8: they'd have the Dean Martin Rose and they were, you know,
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: made for TV, and it was like Foster Brooks doing
- 1:20:29Speaker 8: his drunk guy thing and Rich Little doing yeah, and
- 1:20:33Speaker 8: they were they start out good, but they got really lame.
- 1:20:36Speaker 8: It was like the same people and it was it
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: got bad and and then yeah, it got it got
- 1:20:41Speaker 8: really bad. And then but now this new era is
- 1:20:44Speaker 8: that the Jeffrey Ross Rose and those are all crazy.
- 1:20:47Speaker 6: Yeah, there's some really good ones in the vault with
- 1:20:50Speaker 6: Jeffrey Ross, and it hasn't been good in a while
- 1:20:53Speaker 6: because they people just don't joke like that and like
- 1:20:56Speaker 6: it's too everybody's gotta get sensitive and everything about and
- 1:21:00Speaker 6: apparently Gazelle's already sensitive about it too, so you know,
- 1:21:04Speaker 6: crimea River.
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: But anyway, Tyler in New York says, I really like
- 1:21:08Speaker 8: the roast because it celebrated Tom Brady the Patriot. Too
- 1:21:11Speaker 8: much of Brady media focuses on both teams, Patriots and Buccaneers.
- 1:21:16Speaker 8: Remember that his first retirement announcement didn't even acknowledge the Patriots.
- 1:21:20Speaker 8: You have all said, this really feels like closure for
- 1:21:23Speaker 8: the dynasty, and I agree. By not including Buccaneer coaches
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: or teammates except Ronk, who is primarily a Patriots teammate,
- 1:21:30Speaker 8: it primarily celebrated Tom Tom's Patriots career. It felt healing
- 1:21:35Speaker 8: in a sense. Tom Brady is our quarterback and the
- 1:21:38Speaker 8: world knows that in his post playing career he's a Patriot.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: I forgot he played it Tampa.
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: I forgot he played for the Patriots.
- 1:21:45Speaker 7: I mean, it's quite a tricky just pulled it there. Though.
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: When Tom Brady retired the first time, the media didn't
- 1:21:52Speaker 7: mention that he was a Patriot. But because Tom didn't
- 1:21:58Speaker 7: mention the Patriots in his farewell right, that was a
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: big thing. Ye, but we'll be mad at the media.
- 1:22:05Speaker 6: There also there were Bucks teammates on the dias, as
- 1:22:09Speaker 6: they say, but they just didn't speak. Oh really, Yeah,
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: Ryan Jansen Levante, David Oh, were they the.
- 1:22:14Speaker 8: Guys on the other side, on the other side where
- 1:22:16Speaker 8: they were I thought they might be like comedy writer.
- 1:22:19Speaker 6: Now no, no, the people that were behind the room
- 1:22:21Speaker 6: of comedia.
- 1:22:22Speaker 7: You didn't get any of what you want.
- 1:22:26Speaker 6: It was definitely not as advertised as the Patriots contingent
- 1:22:29Speaker 6: that was there for sure. But they were some Bucks teammates.
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: There's some good gold, comedy gold though, from Tom's Buck days,
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: Like you know, you probably could have worked in him
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: practicing when he wasn't supposed to and the drunk thing,
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: you know, like after he did the mix water.
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, there's some stuff there. This could have been
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: some comedic area. I think you could, you could dabble it.
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: The I think with the roast though, is that like
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: you just see how simple it is.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: Though.
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: It's like there's gonna be dumb jokes about Gronk, there's
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: gonna be you know, Jewish jokes about Edelman, there's gonna
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: be divorced.
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: Jokes about Brady.
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: You know, like you just see like what they are,
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: and you know you just kind of work in that area, so.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: You pick at the nits.
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: I always like my mind just always produces it down
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: to like what is the core of that joke, you know,
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: and it's it's all kind of obvious.
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: Like that's why I like poor Gronks.
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: Like as soon as you realize Gronk's get targeted tonight,
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: you knew he was getting killed.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: But the only thing they have to say is that
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: he's dumb. Yeah right, he's in good shape. Yeah, he
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: made it his whole career without you.
- 1:23:25Speaker 8: Know, somebody's got to be I still don't think he's
- 1:23:28Speaker 8: ever cashed a paycheck from playing now.
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: Yeah, they're just sitting there in his.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: Justice endorsements.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: He spends Yeah, who's the idiot now, right, guys laughing
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: all the way to the bank.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: Craig and Charlotte here, I don't really have a joke.
- 1:23:43Speaker 7: I just want to make sure that he knows.
- 1:23:46Speaker 8: Craig, Craig and Charlotte appreciate your coverage of the draft.
- 1:23:50Speaker 8: I've got a renewed energy and hope for the coming year.
- 1:23:53Speaker 8: I know Elliott and Gerrod have talked a lot about
- 1:23:56Speaker 8: the importance of competition. We have like eleven receivers in
- 1:23:59Speaker 8: like fifteen old doesn't feel like we really brought in
- 1:24:02Speaker 8: hardly anyone on the defensive side of the ball, especially
- 1:24:05Speaker 8: on the D line, aside from Watts. Do you feel
- 1:24:08Speaker 8: like the Patriots have done enough to generate camp competition
- 1:24:12Speaker 8: for the D I think we'll see some of those
- 1:24:14Speaker 8: wide receiver in linemen released before the start of camp
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: and more defensive camp bodies brought on.
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: I just think you got to pick your battles, and
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: the offense needed the attention this year, and I don't
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: think that they're totally prepared on the defensive front, you know,
- 1:24:28Speaker 5: for the season in terms of the pass rush depths.
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: You saw last year when you lost Jude On, you
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: know how much it kind of fell off. So I
- 1:24:36Speaker 5: still have concerns, But it's just a matter of the
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: offense was so terrible last year. How can you really
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: realistically make a case that like, well, we really need
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: a too gabber to back up Davon godcha, you know,
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: or we really need a day two edge guy, Like
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: I'd rather have the receivers. But I do think that,
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: you know, if Judahm were to go or you know that,
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: I mean, it almost like makes me wonder if it's
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: it's hurting them from trying to trade Jude On because
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: they just don't have the depth to play behind him.
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: I mean, you know the guy Kim Andez that they
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: signed like that, I mean, that's what you're talking about.
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: After j Jennings and Jude On, it's there's nothing there.
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: What's the roster at now?
- 1:25:11Speaker 6: Players after after you'll.
- 1:25:14Speaker 7: Probably see some more comings and goings.
- 1:25:17Speaker 6: Yeah, I just I think their defense is in really
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: good shape.
- 1:25:19Speaker 11: I do.
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: And I think that gered Mayo, DeMarcus Comington coming back,
- 1:25:23Speaker 6: Pellegrino coming back. They're they're banking on the fact that
- 1:25:26Speaker 6: they're going to have continuity and coaching on that side
- 1:25:29Speaker 6: of the ball that they trust's.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: Pretty strong too. Like they're giving up like seven points
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: a game.
- 1:25:35Speaker 6: If they were lucky they.
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: Got they got to force more turnovers.
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: I mean that was one thing that they didn't more
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: disrupt last year, splash play.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: But if everybody, the top line guys all stay healthy
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: and one or two guys takes a good step forward,
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: I think they'll be they'll be fine.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: He's going to get so much attention.
- 1:25:51Speaker 9: Sorry to cut you off, and I think that's just
- 1:25:53Speaker 9: going to force other people to be in positions to
- 1:25:56Speaker 9: just rek havoc.
- 1:25:57Speaker 5: On the other time, and I wonder if Barmore is
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: going to start to get that attention too, you know,
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: is that attention going to start to go to bar
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: more more than I mean, it's hard to you know,
- 1:26:04Speaker 5: kind of play both those with a guy on the
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: inside and a guy on the outside.
- 1:26:07Speaker 8: But and I get the impression that, you know, wow,
- 1:26:10Speaker 8: they're really just focused on the offense. But when you
- 1:26:13Speaker 8: think about it, like Emma said, you know, Christian Gonzales
- 1:26:16Speaker 8: is still kind of in his rookie year. He only
- 1:26:18Speaker 8: played four games, you know, so I consider him still
- 1:26:21Speaker 8: kind of, you know, a rookie. Keon White he's played more,
- 1:26:26Speaker 8: but like he's a young guy that you know, we're
- 1:26:28Speaker 8: waiting to see what he can do. So I mean
- 1:26:31Speaker 8: there's still there's young guys on defense that we'll see
- 1:26:35Speaker 8: what they can do this year.
- 1:26:36Speaker 6: Yeah. I think that was the big thing that Dara
- 1:26:38Speaker 6: had mentioned too, is just wanting to give those guys opportunities.
- 1:26:42Speaker 6: And if you start signing big name free agents and
- 1:26:44Speaker 6: stuff like that on that side of the ball, you're
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: not ever going to give Keon White a fair shake
- 1:26:50Speaker 6: of opportunities. If you sign a big time edge rusher
- 1:26:53Speaker 6: or something like that in free agency. So I understand
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: that maybe, you know, they didn't invest on that side
- 1:26:58Speaker 6: of the ball as much as they did on offense.
- 1:27:00Speaker 6: But I just I feel really good about where they
- 1:27:02Speaker 6: are defensively. I don't think they're going to lose games
- 1:27:05Speaker 6: because their defense is not getting stops. Let me put
- 1:27:07Speaker 6: you that out.
- 1:27:08Speaker 8: I've said it before, and I still am interested to
- 1:27:11Speaker 8: see what the effect of losing Bill Belichick has on
- 1:27:15Speaker 8: the defense. Yeah, you know, you lose that insight, you
- 1:27:18Speaker 8: lose that game planning and Steve forty five years of knowledge,
- 1:27:23Speaker 8: you know, and Steve you know, but you know, mostly Bill,
- 1:27:27Speaker 8: like are these guys going to be put in the
- 1:27:30Speaker 8: position to succeed like they were last year?
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: And I think it almost carries over to offense to
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: a little bit. Fred Like, you know, you're I mean,
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: you're saying, like Bill going into the game looking at
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: the other team and saying, you know, this is defensive
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: of what we have to do.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: I'm sure he had the same thing to say about
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: the offensive side of the ball.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: That might not have been him necessarily executing it, but
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: him identifying what they needed to do on offense. And
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: I think there's no way to really know, but I
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: think that that's going to be part of it too,
- 1:27:54Speaker 5: that you know, not having his insight into opponents and knowing,
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: you know, tactically how we need to dismantle this operation.
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:28:01Speaker 5: I think that's that's a big list. Just to go
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: back to Kem White though, he's my my, my most
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: interesting guy on defense this year. Like if he can
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: you know, elevate and really be one of the main
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: dudes in that kind of rotation up front, I think
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: it'll be it'll be a good thing. And then and
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: then the cornerbacks those three that I named with Isaiah Bolden,
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Marcellus Dile and Alex Austin, I mean Sean Wade, Marco
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: Wilson in that mix too, But those three guys, I
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: feel like I'd love to see somebody emerge and be,
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: you know, another outside presence, even if you start with
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: with Gonzo and J. Jones on the outside, and then
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: you know, and then allows J. Jones to slide inside
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: on third down like we've talked about with mccordy.
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: Uh, and even J. C. Jackson to a.
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: Degree, you know that that I think is the biggest
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: thing for me because they're just there aren't a lot
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: of those guys, I Mapho is kind of redundant. I mean,
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: I am interested in him, but I don't really see
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: a scenario where Marte Mapho becomes a huge part of
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: the defensive s here.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: I could maybe see it with Keon White though.
- 1:28:50Speaker 8: Kenny T from AZ writes in do you see the
- 1:28:53Speaker 8: Patriots signing J. C. Jackson since coach Mayo is a
- 1:28:56Speaker 8: players coach? Or has that ship sailed.
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: Sailed, sailed all the way across the world.
- 1:29:01Speaker 8: I hope I'd rather sign Gilmore and at cornerback depth.
- 1:29:05Speaker 8: But with the reports of Gilmore wanting a multi year deal,
- 1:29:08Speaker 8: is Jackson an option? I don't think Jackson is an
- 1:29:11Speaker 8: option though.
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: No, But I mean we'll see.
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: I mean, I think once you get to that point,
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: you'll have a sense of Isaiah Bolden or you know
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: how many of these other corners might be able to
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: step in. And I mean that's the perfect case scenario.
- 1:29:21Speaker 5: But Isaiah Bolden a your two guy under contract. Put
- 1:29:24Speaker 5: him in and let him play. But if they don't
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: like those guys, maybe they go out and get kill more.
- 1:29:28Speaker 6: Yeah. I would just wait and see what some of
- 1:29:30Speaker 6: these guys do in training camp and over the summer.
- 1:29:32Speaker 6: I think that it's that's what they're trying to do
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: here defensively. They know who their core guys are going
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: to be on defense. It's these third cornerback, it's the
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: rotational ledge rusher to take the pressure off Jude, like
- 1:29:44Speaker 6: those types of guys that are more the sticking point
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: right now, and let's see what some of the younger
- 1:29:49Speaker 6: players can do before we bury them behind Stefan Gilmore,
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: behind an edge guy or something like that. And I
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: think that's the plan. And I can understand why they're
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: going that way because they were really good on defense,
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: and yeah, I get that, you know, Bill's going to
- 1:30:03Speaker 6: be a loss, But I think what they will be
- 1:30:06Speaker 6: a little bit more is a little bit more systemic.
- 1:30:08Speaker 6: I feel like I don't know if it will be
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: as much mixing and matching, which we'll see if that's
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: good or bad. I mean, they're still gonna have game
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: plan elements, but Bill would literally rewrite an entire install
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: every single week to fit the opponent. I don't think
- 1:30:23Speaker 6: that they're going to be doing stuff quite as drastically
- 1:30:25Speaker 6: as Super Bowl fifty three, when they go from a
- 1:30:28Speaker 6: man team to his own team in two weeks like,
- 1:30:30Speaker 6: I don't think we're going to be seeing stuff like that.
- 1:30:33Speaker 8: Last week we were talking about first round picks who
- 1:30:35Speaker 8: started out poorly and then resurrected. Ye, you know, Junior
- 1:30:40Speaker 8: from Canton says, I was surprised nobody mentioned Devin mccordy
- 1:30:45Speaker 8: as someone who started off as a bus and went
- 1:30:46Speaker 8: on to have a good career. After his all pro
- 1:30:48Speaker 8: first year at quarterback cornerback, mccordy was so bad he
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: had to be moved to free safety, where he became
- 1:30:54Speaker 8: a future Patron's Hall of Famer.
- 1:30:57Speaker 7: Correct, my, I remember the the conversation we had were
- 1:31:02Speaker 7: someone who started off good and ended up bad?
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: No, someone that looked like he was going to be
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: a bust and then and then.
- 1:31:09Speaker 7: He had one of his best years as a rookie.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: Well, no, he said that. He said, as a run,
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: I don't think he looked like he was going to
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: be a bust.
- 1:31:16Speaker 8: Yeah, but then he said he got so bad that
- 1:31:17Speaker 8: he had to be moved to safety.
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: Yeah, but the first impression was a really good year.
- 1:31:23Speaker 7: He had a good rookie year.
- 1:31:24Speaker 8: Oh he had he led the league with interceptions for
- 1:31:26Speaker 8: a rookie, right or something like that.
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: I think you're right.
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: I think he led the league in interceptions period. Yeah,
- 1:31:31Speaker 6: but he he's talked about that at some of the
- 1:31:34Speaker 6: events that we've been able to do with him in retirement,
- 1:31:38Speaker 6: and you know, he always says, oh, well, I was
- 1:31:40Speaker 6: so bad that that's why they moved me to safety.
- 1:31:43Speaker 6: But there was also a glaring need for them to
- 1:31:46Speaker 6: just try to shore up the back end by moving
- 1:31:48Speaker 6: him to safety, too, So it was it kind of
- 1:31:50Speaker 6: Bill said that it's sort of worked out for both sides,
- 1:31:52Speaker 6: right where Devin was starting to struggle a little bit
- 1:31:54Speaker 6: at a corner and they needed a free safety and
- 1:31:57Speaker 6: it just ended up being a perfect match.
- 1:31:59Speaker 7: And I do think he's rugged at corner. You know,
- 1:32:01Speaker 7: I remember early in the twelve season the game at Baltimore,
- 1:32:06Speaker 7: get a couple of big plays, a couple of big penalties,
- 1:32:09Speaker 7: But I don't think it was like, Wow, this is
- 1:32:11Speaker 7: like ross eighdwing, this is a bust of a pick
- 1:32:14Speaker 7: at corner. I don't think it was like that. And
- 1:32:17Speaker 7: then he was so good at safety.
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: That the way I mean, the way I kind of
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: remember it too, was that that was around in twelve
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: when they got to leave and it seemed like they
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: really made a shift to man defense, which didn't ever
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: feel like that was mccordy.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: Felt more like his own corner and kind of fit
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: the old mold. Yeah, I thought that was kind of
- 1:32:34Speaker 4: playing into it too.
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: You might have had something to do with it too.
- 1:32:37Speaker 8: Andre from New Jersey on the same subject, he was
- 1:32:40Speaker 8: surprised no one mentioned Patrick Chung.
- 1:32:43Speaker 4: That's interesting one because I don't think that he was a.
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: Total He wasn't a fust here.
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: Yeah, but again pick but again, that's another kind of
- 1:32:50Speaker 5: scheme thing I feel like, and talking about the same
- 1:32:52Speaker 5: timeframe where you know, he left and went to Philly
- 1:32:55Speaker 5: and he came back.
- 1:32:56Speaker 7: And I could buy Chung though, Yeah, and that little
- 1:32:58Speaker 7: bit because he was not good the first time around,
- 1:33:01Speaker 7: and then he came back and he was a much
- 1:33:03Speaker 7: different player.
- 1:33:04Speaker 6: Bill has fallen on that sword. He said that that
- 1:33:06Speaker 6: was us. We messed it up.
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: Yeah, he has two questions.
- 1:33:09Speaker 8: Is there an undrafted free agent you would like, you
- 1:33:12Speaker 8: like that has a chance to make the roster?
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: Charles Turner.
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: We talked about Charles Turner a little bit.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: Yeah, Charles Turner Center for LSU. A lot of really
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: high praise about him. Multi year starter in the SEC
- 1:33:25Speaker 6: bigger guy, like not you know, Jake Andrews is one
- 1:33:28Speaker 6: of those like blocky, squatty type of guys. This is
- 1:33:32Speaker 6: a taller, longer player, probably just a center though, so
- 1:33:36Speaker 6: that might be a part that is harder for him
- 1:33:39Speaker 6: to make the roster. And he needs to add some weight.
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: He's three hundred pounds soaking wet, which I know sounds ridiculous,
- 1:33:44Speaker 6: but for alignment. Yeah, he's got to add some sand
- 1:33:48Speaker 6: in the pants before he's ready for NFL competition. But
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: people really high on him. I think he's gonna be
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: a good player.
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: Shack maybe is a big, you know, early down running back,
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: but there's this opportunity.
- 1:34:01Speaker 7: He'd be the guy that I would pick just because
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: of the position.
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: He's gonna have some opportunities in the preseason that you know,
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: he could have a big August preseason game in him.
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: When you talking about Kevin Harris two is one of
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: those like second level guys that with a new coaching staff,
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: seems like he might get a chance.
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: But even if he makes it, that's three that you
- 1:34:19Speaker 7: you know what, Let's let's say he's on so that's
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: you know, Remandre and Gibson and yeah, Kevin Harris. So
- 1:34:25Speaker 7: that's that doesn't seem like enough.
- 1:34:26Speaker 6: I think they need another running back, right, So.
- 1:34:28Speaker 7: I think that Fenwick kid has a chance.
- 1:34:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I think they need I would like to see
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: them maybe try to add another veteran like they did
- 1:34:34Speaker 6: with Zeke. You know, late in the process, someone will
- 1:34:36Speaker 6: shake free because nobody wants to pay their running back.
- 1:34:38Speaker 6: So if it comes down to like a post June
- 1:34:41Speaker 6: one cut type of thing, I I don't think they
- 1:34:43Speaker 6: have enough in running back. I mean, you're not counting
- 1:34:45Speaker 6: on Kevin Harris or Fenwick being a player for you,
- 1:34:48Speaker 6: and then you're really going into the season with two backs.
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: Which is already was like the dangers on your in
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: last year when you were just you know yeah.
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:34:56Speaker 8: Second question, now this may be a stupid one, but
- 1:34:59Speaker 8: for those who could purchase tickets for Brady, would we
- 1:35:02Speaker 8: be able to watch live on our mobile phones or
- 1:35:04Speaker 8: the Patriot's website?
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: And the answer is yes.
- 1:35:06Speaker 8: The plan is to stream it live on Patriots dot
- 1:35:09Speaker 8: com and YouTube the Patriots channel on YouTube, so either
- 1:35:13Speaker 8: way you can watch it live.
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: So excited about.
- 1:35:17Speaker 4: That sneaky weather? That's the big rain or shine?
- 1:35:24Speaker 8: Yep, Let's see a lot of emails Dylan in Nashville.
- 1:35:31Speaker 8: With the new kickoff rules next season, do you think
- 1:35:34Speaker 8: that we could see jaheen Bell returning kicks?
- 1:35:38Speaker 6: Not a bad idea. I mean, he played running back
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: at South Carolina. Obviously, that's one of his strengths. Is
- 1:35:44Speaker 6: a ball carry in his sturdiness is a ballcarrier. I
- 1:35:47Speaker 6: wouldn't hate seeing it. If that's what it's really going
- 1:35:50Speaker 6: to be. If it's really going to be more like
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: a running back running through the line of scrimmage versus
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: a kickoff, you know, return, then maybe, I mean, you
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: definitely don't want you know, Remander are Tonio Gibson doing it.
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: We just had a conversation about running backs, so yeah,
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: it's possible, Rick and Dallas.
- 1:36:07Speaker 8: So based on everything we've seen so far, I'm starting
- 1:36:10Speaker 8: to think maybe it's time they move on from Drake
- 1:36:13Speaker 8: May and try Milton as the starter. Let's be honest,
- 1:36:16Speaker 8: and all the time May has been on the team,
- 1:36:18Speaker 8: he hasn't done anything. Everyone knows Milton has a huge arm,
- 1:36:21Speaker 8: and think of all the different plays they could use
- 1:36:23Speaker 8: with Milton that May simply can't do. May limits them
- 1:36:26Speaker 8: to only seventy five yard bombs, but with Milton, you
- 1:36:29Speaker 8: could run a million eighty to eighty five yard bomb plays.
- 1:36:32Speaker 8: It would be completely open up the offense. I know
- 1:36:35Speaker 8: you'll all probably disagree with me, but seriously, how long
- 1:36:38Speaker 8: are we willing to wait for May to make an impact.
- 1:36:40Speaker 8: I feel like I've been very patient, but enough is enough.
- 1:36:43Speaker 8: It's time to make a change.
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: It's good performed.
- 1:36:46Speaker 8: I see what you did.
- 1:36:46Speaker 4: I like that. Agreed, I like that.
- 1:36:48Speaker 11: I'm triggered.
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: Eighty to eighty five could also miss all the short
- 1:36:52Speaker 5: passes if you want, and the long ones.
- 1:36:55Speaker 7: No, since he was the last ranked player passes that
- 1:36:58Speaker 7: traveled twenty.
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: Eighty yards, but he can throw it really still.
- 1:37:02Speaker 7: That's more than twenty.
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: Uh Williams and Philham? What's up? William heany for?
- 1:37:10Speaker 13: How you doing?
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:37:12Speaker 8: All right?
- 1:37:13Speaker 13: Question? So two questions about the tackle and the wide receiver.
- 1:37:19Speaker 13: The pages didn't like. None of the left tackles in
- 1:37:23Speaker 13: the draft.
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean Tyler, Tyler Goydon went it was I
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: mean you were that was it?
- 1:37:31Speaker 4: I mean pure left tackles.
- 1:37:33Speaker 7: And the second guess is they maybe should have changed
- 1:37:37Speaker 7: the order of the positions that they picked and got
- 1:37:39Speaker 7: made sure they got a left tackle, but they didn't,
- 1:37:44Speaker 7: and by the time they were up, the right tackle
- 1:37:47Speaker 7: option with Kayden Wallace was was better than anything that
- 1:37:51Speaker 7: was still on the board. I mean we do this
- 1:37:54Speaker 7: every year, William, like when we we draft guys and
- 1:37:56Speaker 7: then we called their college coaches. So I mean I
- 1:38:02Speaker 7: take them a little bit for what they are. I mean, obviously,
- 1:38:05Speaker 7: for the most part, the coaches are going to be
- 1:38:06Speaker 7: very complementary of their players. But in talking to Phil
- 1:38:09Speaker 7: trout Wine yesterday, actually Penn State offensive line coach, I
- 1:38:14Speaker 7: do think that there's a fair amount of optimism that
- 1:38:18Speaker 7: from a schematic standpoint, from an athletic standpoint, he has
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: the ability to switch sides. That's a big if. I mean,
- 1:38:24Speaker 7: he was the sixty eighth overall pick and you're asking
- 1:38:28Speaker 7: him to play a different position than he played in college.
- 1:38:30Speaker 7: That is probably not going to be your day one option.
- 1:38:34Speaker 7: But that doesn't mean it's not a good pick. He
- 1:38:36Speaker 7: could eventually be your option. It's kind of like we
- 1:38:38Speaker 7: were talking about with Todd's question earlier in the show
- 1:38:41Speaker 7: about what kind of progress would you like to see?
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: And I think if you can find out that a
- 1:38:47Speaker 7: core for is a placeholder at left tackle. But Wallace
- 1:38:51Speaker 7: is going to be the guy. I think that would
- 1:38:52Speaker 7: be a really positive development.
- 1:38:54Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:38:56Speaker 13: I've been asked this question for you. Yes, even when
- 1:39:00Speaker 13: there so you said in twenty twenty five the free
- 1:39:04Speaker 13: agency would be deep in terms of dynamic receivers. You
- 1:39:09Speaker 13: mentioned a couple of names when that if they get
- 1:39:11Speaker 13: out there.
- 1:39:11Speaker 10: In free agency.
- 1:39:12Speaker 13: Yeah, so are you predicting that this is the Pages
- 1:39:17Speaker 13: are frownly going to do this because this has been
- 1:39:18Speaker 13: over like what since twenty forty years since?
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: But Randy Moss in terms of paying a receiver, I mean,
- 1:39:24Speaker 6: they tried to pay Calvin Ridley. They didn't pay him enough,
- 1:39:28Speaker 6: but they tried to pay them. So I don't think
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: that this is an issue of we won't cut the
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: check for twenty five million dollars for the receiver. That's
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: just the Titans gave him twenty six and he signed
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: that deal. So I think if they come available, I
- 1:39:42Speaker 6: think the Patriots will be interested heavily. The question is
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: that with all these receivers, is you know, do they
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: actually come available? You know, Dvante Smith has already signed
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: his extension. You know, Jamar Chase is not going anywhere
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: in Cincinnati. You know, he's one of those guys Brandon,
- 1:39:56Speaker 6: I Yuke Tho as a guy. T Higgins like those
- 1:39:58Speaker 6: guys could come available, and if they do, I think
- 1:40:00Speaker 6: the Yeah, I think the Patriots will be at the
- 1:40:03Speaker 6: front of the line.
- 1:40:03Speaker 11: I do.
- 1:40:05Speaker 13: I just I just want Drake me to have his
- 1:40:07Speaker 13: number one receiver. That's all I want. Uh, thank you everybody,
- 1:40:11Speaker 13: thank you, all.
- 1:40:12Speaker 8: Right, thanks William, appreciate the call. Jorn's calling from Belgium. Uh,
- 1:40:18Speaker 8: not calling but writing in. Sorry, I love the show.
- 1:40:21Speaker 8: Learned so much about the game so far. Question for
- 1:40:24Speaker 8: all of you, because last weekend was May the fourth,
- 1:40:27Speaker 8: Which Star Wars would you draft? And on which position
- 1:40:29Speaker 8: would you want them to play?
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:40:32Speaker 8: Which Star Wars? Does he mean character characters? I guess
- 1:40:36Speaker 8: so yeah, Oh, I don't know.
- 1:40:38Speaker 4: Cheb the offensive line obviously not not defensive end.
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: Both ways. He's got bookies have Wookies are known for
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: their staminas. He could probably go both ways. Yeah, okay,
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: uh Yoda running back, you know, tough little but to move.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: Receiver.
- 1:40:57Speaker 6: Man, he's got that that jitterbugging.
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: Probably see three PO and R two probably on the sidelines.
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: It's not great movement skills from those.
- 1:41:04Speaker 8: Two quality quality assuring.
- 1:41:06Speaker 6: I want nothing to do with Anakin because he's a puddle.
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: You know, like it would just it would just volatile,
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: it would unraim real quickness, that energy.
- 1:41:14Speaker 4: Though, you know, I think he could be really great.
- 1:41:16Speaker 6: But I think he's bad for the locker room.
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: It's like sand.
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: Either it's probably gonna be That's what I'm saying, Like,
- 1:41:21Speaker 6: you can't trust the guy that doesn't like sand.
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: I mean the astro turf out there's got those little balls.
- 1:41:25Speaker 5: That's kind of like sand.
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: You probably hate that. Darth Vader is your nose tackle
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: or I mean first guy off the bus for sure,
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: first guy off the bus.
- 1:41:34Speaker 7: This is great.
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: We just go on and on.
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: I mean, Luke Skywalker, it is what it is kind
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: of kind of boring, kind of boring.
- 1:41:41Speaker 6: I think Han quarterback quarterback. I don't know, like he's
- 1:41:44Speaker 6: got the look.
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: He's got that wide receiver cockiness though, like a Page
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: Stabler look.
- 1:41:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I think he hansul is the quarterback.
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: I think you have we have trouble with him with
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: DraftKings though, probably like he'd be in the locker room
- 1:41:56Speaker 5: place in bets.
- 1:41:57Speaker 6: Can we go into like being Michael Jordan's Enough's like
- 1:42:00Speaker 6: is boba Fet.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: Can we use him?
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: Can we use Does he get the jet pack or not?
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: You know, is he allowed to.
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: Use the guy gotta we have to get.
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: We'd have to get a trilogy.
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: Yeah, we'd have to get a full medical on Bubuffet
- 1:42:13Speaker 5: because he fell in the Starlac pit.
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: I don't know what they mean.
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: You get digested over a million, a thousand years like
- 1:42:17Speaker 5: it seems like he'd have some kind.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: Of injury situation. We need to we need to get.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: But then he went into that water thing and back
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: to time.
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: Yeah, well we'll see.
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: I mean, modern medicine is amazing, but you just want
- 1:42:26Speaker 5: to make sure he's got stability in the in the joints.
- 1:42:30Speaker 7: The same guy nerded out on Star Wars.
- 1:42:33Speaker 4: Paul's nerding out on his Star Wars.
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: Does have a bio hand. So I do wonder if
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: the bionic man he can spin it. Yeah, it might
- 1:42:41Speaker 6: be good for for catching the ball actually as a receiver,
- 1:42:44Speaker 6: because you know, it might be have a little bit
- 1:42:45Speaker 6: more strength at And I like it.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: I think jar Jar is safety.
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: Off the team.
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: Jar Jar runs funny. I don't know, I'm not.
- 1:42:56Speaker 7: I only wish I could contribute it. I love this
- 1:42:59Speaker 7: I just don't know enough to contribute. This is like
- 1:43:02Speaker 7: the most Mark not prepared.
- 1:43:05Speaker 8: Mark wants to know he's from Scotland. Uh do you
- 1:43:08Speaker 8: think the draft will ever make its way to Boston?
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: Is that something that I'm not Robert Kraft wants to do.
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:43:19Speaker 9: All the people that pulled up to Detroit, Like, where
- 1:43:21Speaker 9: would we put those people in Boston?
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: You do it? Like like to think that you do
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: it on the commons?
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm talking about Traft.
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: Yeah, government to think the people of Boston wouldn't be that.
- 1:43:32Speaker 7: So we wouldn't have that kind of congestion the convention center.
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: They used to have to protect Ross from the patriot fans.
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: But maybe they'd be okay with him. Get he get booed, vehement.
- 1:43:42Speaker 6: In all seriousness, though, have we talked at all about
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: this this GM search that we did.
- 1:43:47Speaker 7: Okay, we let off with news.
- 1:43:51Speaker 6: I figured I just I.
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: Was just asking, good, do you want to interview for it?
- 1:43:55Speaker 6: I haven't been asked, but in the media workroom they
- 1:43:58Speaker 6: did ask me if if I received an interview, and
- 1:44:01Speaker 6: they were wondering if I would be considered an external candidate,
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: which is a fair question.
- 1:44:07Speaker 7: Now by they I'm curious, as too was talking about you,
- 1:44:12Speaker 7: I want to know who I think less of now.
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: The interns, you know, usual suspects, but the obviously they were,
- 1:44:22Speaker 6: you know, busting my chops about this. But I take
- 1:44:24Speaker 6: it seriously and I think I'd be an internal candidate though,
- 1:44:28Speaker 6: so I don't know if that would. They don't need
- 1:44:30Speaker 6: any more of those. They already have internal candidates.
- 1:44:32Speaker 7: The internal part I agree with, yeah, not so sure.
- 1:44:36Speaker 8: The candidate, yeah, well, rusty and arms respectfully. I think
- 1:44:40Speaker 8: I'll be the first to say I'm already tired of
- 1:44:42Speaker 8: hearing about Drake May's family less than two weeks in.
- 1:44:45Speaker 8: It reminds me of the Harball Super Bowl. I believe
- 1:44:48Speaker 8: Paul was with me on that one. Uh Now, without
- 1:44:51Speaker 8: having seen anyone play, let's have some fun with predictions.
- 1:44:54Speaker 8: Who will start the most games.
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: At left tackle? Chooks a corps for He says that's
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: who he's going for?
- 1:45:00Speaker 7: That my pick?
- 1:45:01Speaker 4: What about Calvin Anderson.
- 1:45:03Speaker 5: Just to go on redumption story, right, he got over
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: malaria and now he's starting.
- 1:45:08Speaker 4: I mean, I've said it before.
- 1:45:09Speaker 5: He's the only one who's played significant snaps on the
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: left side in the NFL.
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: Of everybody, and he was.
- 1:45:13Speaker 5: Kind of I don't know what kind of plans they
- 1:45:16Speaker 5: had for him, but he was kind of signed last
- 1:45:18Speaker 5: year to play left tackle or at least, you.
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: Know, offer them some flexibility behind.
- 1:45:22Speaker 6: I was intrigued by him, honestly when they did make
- 1:45:25Speaker 6: the signing in relative to the signing right. Obviously, I'm not.
- 1:45:28Speaker 6: I don't think he's gonna be Joe Thomas, but he's
- 1:45:30Speaker 6: got some athletic traits and when you watch him on
- 1:45:32Speaker 6: film in Denver, like he did move well on tape,
- 1:45:36Speaker 6: you know, he's got some explosiveness to move out of
- 1:45:38Speaker 6: his stance. But I keep saying it, I'm not saying
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: I believe it, but they are higher on this offensive
- 1:45:44Speaker 6: line group than we are the outside. They really felt,
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: because they did all of this is out now that
- 1:45:52Speaker 6: they wanted to trade up for Xavier Lagette, that they
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: weren't trying to trade up for a tackle. They are
- 1:45:56Speaker 6: trying to trade up for a receiver, and they ended
- 1:45:58Speaker 6: up double dipping at receiver anyways, like they they were
- 1:46:01Speaker 6: a quarterback receiver, where they are two biggest needs, and
- 1:46:04Speaker 6: they feel better about the tackles than everybody else does.
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: Yeah, uh, you know, I got a good question the
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: mailbag probably a good one just to open up to
- 1:46:10Speaker 5: the group here was about just the offensive line and
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: the body types and if you really are going to
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: run a wide zone and you want to have athletic
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: guys like Cole Strange, you you have a mish mash
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: of personnel. That was even kind of doubled down with
- 1:46:22Speaker 5: Robinson a little bit of looking more like a gap
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: power type guard.
- 1:46:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't I don't know what I would just say,
- 1:46:29Speaker 7: like to to the point about they think more of
- 1:46:32Speaker 7: the line, Does that worry anybody?
- 1:46:34Speaker 6: It was, yeah, yes, but that's every single sign they evaluate.
- 1:46:39Speaker 7: And this is more, you know, an evan kind of
- 1:46:44Speaker 7: observation from what you were talking about, Mike, But like
- 1:46:47Speaker 7: when you is a really solid player, does he fit
- 1:46:50Speaker 7: what they want to do? And then you know, I mean,
- 1:46:54Speaker 7: I know Robinson, you know, And again I talked to
- 1:46:56Speaker 7: Steve Adazio about him and he did sort of point
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: to a athleticism is ability. He's a road grader, That's
- 1:47:03Speaker 7: how we described him. So it's not like he didn't
- 1:47:05Speaker 7: have the same you know, impression of his own player
- 1:47:07Speaker 7: as everybody else. But he does think he has the
- 1:47:10Speaker 7: football guy I asked him specifically about the scheme, you know,
- 1:47:14Speaker 7: while prefacing that with saying I don't know what I'm
- 1:47:16Speaker 7: talking about, And I did, and he laughed, and I said,
- 1:47:19Speaker 7: you know, does that fit you?
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: Got?
- 1:47:21Speaker 7: Yeah, he has the athleticism to play any style that
- 1:47:24Speaker 7: you want. Now, again, that's what college coaches say about
- 1:47:27Speaker 7: their players, unless they're bad guys. Yeah.
- 1:47:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it all depends on It all depends
- 1:47:33Speaker 6: on where you're truly trying to aim the ball carrier. Like,
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: if you're trying to if you really want to get
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: outside the tackles and you want to be out on
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: the perimeter, then I don't think that they have the
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: horses for it. Now, if you're really just trying to
- 1:47:47Speaker 6: set up cutback lanes and you want to flow everybody
- 1:47:50Speaker 6: outside to cut it back up through the middle and
- 1:47:52Speaker 6: you work those backside combination blocks with guys like Sao
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: and went who, I could see that being effective. But overall,
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: you know, you look at these lines that run these
- 1:48:04Speaker 6: types of schemes. They're all cold strangers, they're all three
- 1:48:07Speaker 6: hundred pounds, they're all athletic, they all tested well in
- 1:48:11Speaker 6: the combine. They can all run, they can block in space,
- 1:48:14Speaker 6: they have range at the position. Like I'm not describing
- 1:48:17Speaker 6: half the guys that they have on this offensive line
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: right now. I'm just not so that that's this group.
- 1:48:22Speaker 17: You know.
- 1:48:22Speaker 6: I remember in Atlanta when they were building that scheme
- 1:48:25Speaker 6: down there a couple of years ago, and it was
- 1:48:27Speaker 6: like Chris Linstrom in the first round at guard, who's
- 1:48:30Speaker 6: you know, built exactly like Cole Strange. It was Caleb McGarry,
- 1:48:33Speaker 6: another athletic tackle, you know, those types of players like that,
- 1:48:36Speaker 6: those are Green Bay is always liked more undersized linemen,
- 1:48:41Speaker 6: you know, to run outside zone. So I just I
- 1:48:44Speaker 6: don't see it, But I also wouldn't hold it against them,
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: you know, I think that a VP could adjust, Like
- 1:48:51Speaker 6: I think that maybe we're making too much out of
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: the outside zone stuff and maybe they will be more
- 1:48:55Speaker 6: not necessarily Patriots traditional what you know, full iso lead
- 1:49:01Speaker 6: you know type of plays, but maybe it's counter or
- 1:49:04Speaker 6: maybe it's you know, some of the different types of gaps,
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: you know, crack toss it plays, you know, things like
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: that that are technically gap and blocking but are aimed
- 1:49:13Speaker 6: to get outside like the way that they want to.
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: But it kind of feeds back into what we said
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: about how much more of a game plan team that
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: are going to be. And you know, it does seem
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: like the signs aren't pointing to we're just a wide
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: zone team.
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: That's what we're running.
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: That That is our run game. It's either wide zone,
- 1:49:27Speaker 5: inside zone, back and forth. So I guess maybe where
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: it's going to exist is they're gonna, like you said,
- 1:49:31Speaker 5: have a little bit of a mishmash and maybe they
- 1:49:34Speaker 5: will be more game plan in terms of of.
- 1:49:35Speaker 6: The That's what Cleveland's been over the last couple of years. Like,
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: even though Stefanski is at his root a wide zone truther,
- 1:49:44Speaker 6: they ran a lot of gap over the last couple
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: of years as well, and they were extremely diverse, like
- 1:49:48Speaker 6: they ran a bunch of different things. So I think
- 1:49:50Speaker 6: that's gonna be the goal. But if you want to
- 1:49:53Speaker 6: set up the misdirection and the bootlegs off of it,
- 1:49:56Speaker 6: and you want to disguise it and make it all
- 1:49:58Speaker 6: look the same and make it all look pretty like that,
- 1:50:00Speaker 6: that's what that scheme is. So you have to stick
- 1:50:03Speaker 6: to your guns on that a little bit, and it
- 1:50:05Speaker 6: could take time because it's one of those schemes as well.
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: It doesn't it's an in concert type of thing where
- 1:50:12Speaker 6: all five guys need to move together, so like it
- 1:50:15Speaker 6: doesn't happen overnight. You know, the chemistry is not going
- 1:50:17Speaker 6: to be built overnight. So a lot of people that
- 1:50:20Speaker 6: you talk to that talk about Outside Zone say it
- 1:50:22Speaker 6: could take a whole season for the guys to get
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: it down, and it could. You know, twenty twenty five
- 1:50:28Speaker 6: might be the year where it really starts to take hold.
- 1:50:30Speaker 5: And that makes me wonder if there's an opening for
- 1:50:32Speaker 5: a dark horse guy like at Calvin Anderson, who is
- 1:50:35Speaker 5: a little.
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: Bit more athletic than a Corps four.
- 1:50:37Speaker 5: But you know, maybe once they get it all together,
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: it might be a couple of random pieces that you're
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: not really expecting at this point that actually can figure
- 1:50:45Speaker 5: this out quicker than the rest.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 1:50:50Speaker 8: Mark writes in I've been thinking about a new name
- 1:50:52Speaker 8: for Joe Milton, as it was revealed that he does
- 1:50:55Speaker 8: not like the Bazuka Joe name he was given in college,
- 1:50:58Speaker 8: even though it sounds pretty bad as h can you
- 1:51:01Speaker 8: run this one past him if possible, Please, Sam surface
- 1:51:06Speaker 8: to air missile. Keep up the great work, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: Does it come back down?
- 1:51:10Speaker 10: Though?
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: It's got to come back down to the surface. Otherwise
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: it's just it's.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: I'm not going to run that by him.
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: No, No, it's American.
- 1:51:16Speaker 7: No, sneaky, sneaky negative. He's always there, lurking behind the scenes.
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: He's just stuck. Toss a little bomb jump out of.
- 1:51:27Speaker 8: The eight five five pats five hundred is the A
- 1:51:30Speaker 8: sticket hotline. Let's go to Kevin in South Carolina.
- 1:51:33Speaker 17: Hey, Kevin, Hey, Alex, Hey boys, how are we doing good?
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: Hey?
- 1:51:39Speaker 17: Hey, I got a little roast for you if you're
- 1:51:41Speaker 17: here to endure it.
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay, not me though.
- 1:51:44Speaker 17: All right, Paul, you walk start with you now, I'm sorry,
- 1:51:47Speaker 17: I'm sorry you're adult diaper endorsement fell through. Well, it's
- 1:51:51Speaker 17: okay because all you take is still crap.
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: Okay, all right, all right, all right, not a bat,
- 1:51:56Speaker 7: not a bad opener.
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: We have laugh smack, and we have left tracks.
- 1:51:59Speaker 7: Not a bad I hope it's going to get better.
- 1:52:01Speaker 7: But that wasn't bad.
- 1:52:05Speaker 17: Fred. You like the lifeguard on this show. You really
- 1:52:08Speaker 17: keep it from coming to life.
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: Oh Fred, that's better.
- 1:52:15Speaker 17: Better Alex, you have burned so many gallons as convenances.
- 1:52:20Speaker 17: This atmosphere along the pike is that you are planned
- 1:52:23Speaker 17: to kill the Dolphins.
- 1:52:27Speaker 14: Okay, Evans, Sorry, Ellie Evan, did your girl get jealous
- 1:52:35Speaker 14: of all these times you keep bringing a game to
- 1:52:37Speaker 14: bed with you?
- 1:52:39Speaker 17: But seriously, buddy, good luck finding an internal candidate.
- 1:52:44Speaker 7: Okay, we peaked at my I get the first party.
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: Come on, let's go get my clothes of mics.
- 1:52:54Speaker 17: Now, hockey is not football, but I thank everyone you
- 1:52:57Speaker 17: have forgiven a go.
- 1:52:58Speaker 6: Pat Well, good effort.
- 1:53:02Speaker 7: Yeah, good, good job, good effort.
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: I'm glad there's someone with that. Boston Kevin came with
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: an act keeping it real.
- 1:53:07Speaker 6: I liked that. Yeah, yeah, that's fun.
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: Y He's got like the timing and everything.
- 1:53:12Speaker 7: You know what I mean?
- 1:53:14Speaker 8: Is this thing Andrew and l A he heard, Oh
- 1:53:19Speaker 8: some news for Eric Skelevin. Oh, let's go uh in
- 1:53:22Speaker 8: Providence they just started a cork sniffing department. He'll be
- 1:53:26Speaker 8: involved in that, so talk about it.
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: Rose says here the mayor was at a wine tasting
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: this weekend. Could you, mister Scalaveno, elaborate on on on
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: his wine tasting what exactly?
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: Just keep smelling it now, not sniff the cork.
- 1:53:40Speaker 7: Does not have Somalier in his future.
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: That would have been that would have been a funnier job.
- 1:53:46Speaker 8: We'll be following the of Eric the director of the
- 1:53:50Speaker 8: West Wing of Rhode Island.
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: You got to keep us posting out on Rhode Island politics.
- 1:53:53Speaker 4: What's excited for this.
- 1:53:56Speaker 8: L from Wisconsin? Did anyone catch Eli's tweet after of
- 1:54:00Speaker 8: the roast? I thought about attending the roast to Tom
- 1:54:02Speaker 8: Brady last night, but I did not want to roast
- 1:54:04Speaker 8: him for a third time.
- 1:54:05Speaker 7: He was funny, was good.
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: I didn't laugh that he didn't laugh.
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: He didn't smile, he didn't That was cute, man.
- 1:54:17Speaker 7: Yeah, No, it wasn't like roast quality.
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: No, just a little reminder here I am.
- 1:54:24Speaker 6: I can't joke all that.
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: The wound is too row.
- 1:54:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: Uh, Mark's in Connecticut.
- 1:54:30Speaker 8: What's up?
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: Mark?
- 1:54:32Speaker 8: Hey?
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: Guys?
- 1:54:33Speaker 14: How you doing good?
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:54:35Speaker 10: One last quick question for you guys eighty on Mitchell.
- 1:54:40Speaker 17: Evan, do you think that the Patriots were ever in
- 1:54:43Speaker 17: on him in the draft?
- 1:54:45Speaker 6: I'm gonna say no. I have to think no, because
- 1:54:49Speaker 6: I just can't envision the world. Yeah. I just can't
- 1:54:52Speaker 6: envision the world where they on talent drafted two other
- 1:54:56Speaker 6: receivers and we're just like now, we're all okay with
- 1:55:00Speaker 6: this guy, and.
- 1:55:02Speaker 10: I like the two of them that they drafted.
- 1:55:04Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I just if you're if you're watching, if
- 1:55:07Speaker 6: you're grading these guys, and I have to think if
- 1:55:10Speaker 6: you were just going based off the trades in the
- 1:55:12Speaker 6: film with Adie Mitchell, I just can't imagine that you
- 1:55:15Speaker 6: had Jalen Polk created higher than him in if all
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: things were created equal off the field and stuff.
- 1:55:22Speaker 14: All right, thanks Eric, let me mark.
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: What if what I feel?
- 1:55:30Speaker 8: I you know, like went there on Twitter and it's
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: just like, you know, I would have gone to the roast,
- 1:55:34Speaker 8: but I was busy with Giselle.
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: You know, I learned how to teach karate. I've got
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: to imagine.
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: That's a missed opportunity.
- 1:55:45Speaker 5: I was next after Tyree, like something like I screwed
- 1:55:48Speaker 5: your team twice.
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: Now I'm gonna fill in the blank, you know, something
- 1:55:51Speaker 4: like that.
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: Uh, Fidel's and Tampa they themselves for Tampa. What's up Fidel?
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: You guys.
- 1:56:00Speaker 15: I just wanted to give two quick things. I was
- 1:56:04Speaker 15: listening to the draft show, and one thing I did
- 1:56:07Speaker 15: not think out here was Paul going what's up?
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: Brother?
- 1:56:12Speaker 15: When the influencer was announcimate sex Pickuesday, I was expecting
- 1:56:22Speaker 15: an argument, but that was that was a good consolation.
- 1:56:24Speaker 15: And then my second thing was I want Evan to
- 1:56:28Speaker 15: stop giving the movie Draft Day so much craft.
- 1:56:31Speaker 6: It's a horrible movie.
- 1:56:32Speaker 15: Teammates attending his birthday when Ady Mitchell fell a whole
- 1:56:36Speaker 15: round later because of his diabetes medication, moved with it.
- 1:56:42Speaker 6: It's a terrible movie.
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: I'm Scott Malkinson.
- 1:56:45Speaker 6: It's just a horrible movie.
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: I love you all right.
- 1:56:48Speaker 6: Appreciate.
- 1:56:51Speaker 7: Gets me.
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: It wasn't that bad.
- 1:56:53Speaker 8: It's horrible if you're looking for like draft realism.
- 1:56:56Speaker 6: Okay, but can we just it's not even just realism,
- 1:56:58Speaker 6: Like can we be real in any sort of semblance
- 1:57:01Speaker 6: of realism? Like I don't I understand. It's a movie.
- 1:57:04Speaker 6: It's gonna they're gonna want to have a flair for
- 1:57:06Speaker 6: the dramatic, but then making the pick and then trading
- 1:57:08Speaker 6: the picks after you make the Like no, it just
- 1:57:12Speaker 6: it just would never happen, Like, could you get like
- 1:57:14Speaker 6: somebody consulting on it, like Michael Lombardi or somebody else,
- 1:57:17Speaker 6: Like this is.
- 1:57:18Speaker 7: How it actually wanted someone and knew something about the
- 1:57:20Speaker 7: draft to consult on it. Kanil Harry, it is.
- 1:57:24Speaker 6: The best every time we talk about like receivers and
- 1:57:27Speaker 6: if you kind of see it early and stuff like that.
- 1:57:31Speaker 6: I just think of how bad Nikki Harry looked right
- 1:57:34Speaker 6: immediately as a rookie in twenty nineteen. It was like,
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: this guy cannot run right.
- 1:57:39Speaker 8: I could just like watching bad news. Bear you're gonna
- 1:57:43Speaker 8: make a Facebook can you at least you know, you know,
- 1:57:46Speaker 8: make a lineup that really, because like.
- 1:57:49Speaker 7: Seventy supposed to be one, Kelly League hit every other
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: batter that's two. Rudy Stein just kept getting hit by
- 1:57:59Speaker 7: pitches every year that those movies are supposed to our comedies. Okay,
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: Draft Day is supposed to be serious, it's supposed to
- 1:58:06Speaker 7: be It's just it's best for the team.
- 1:58:10Speaker 8: All right, all right, Well that's going to be it
- 1:58:11Speaker 8: for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered.
