- 0:04The New England Patriots predictably ran roughshod over
- 0:08the hapless New York Giants on Monday Night Football in a game
- 0:11that was full of storylines, if not real competitive football.
- 0:14While the Patriots became the first team in the NFL to reach
- 0:17eleven wins, the Giants found new ways to stink up the joint
- 0:20on special teams while rookies Jackson Dart continues to take
- 0:24big hits and Abdul Carter got benched for the second time in
- 0:27three weeks for missing. Yet in the another team meeting
- 0:31we will cover it all and including the now MVP favorite
- 0:34in Vegas, Drake Mays incredible sophomore season and the
- 0:39baseball winter meetings are just around the corner.
- 0:41So we are going to dive deep inside baseball and cover some
- 0:45of the early trades and signings of the offseason before we crack
- 0:48a six pack with Speedy and make some Week 14 NFL picks on

- 3:54You know, it's been an interesting, interesting week.
- 3:58And it's it's interesting for me because I'm always home now.
- 4:01I've been really just relaxing, enjoying the happy life of just
- 4:06hanging out at home and finding things to do.
- 4:09And I'm a I'm a guy that really just likes to hang out and
- 4:13clean. That's something that kind of
- 4:15soothes me when I'm bored. I'm just trying to find
- 4:18something to do. And Klene is like my, my Forte
- 4:22is my thing. But what I've been doing over
- 4:25the last couple of weeks is writing, and I wrote a story
- 4:29last night. I spent almost two hours last
- 4:34night into this morning writing a story about New York sports.
- 4:37And if you haven't read it, I sent it out to a bunch of people
- 4:40that listen to the show and it's going to be on ready.
- 4:43It's going to be on so many different platforms.
- 4:45I want everybody that is a New York sports radio fan to read
- 4:49this story. It is a great story.
- 4:51I'm not saying it because I wrote it.
- 4:52I put a lot of effort, a lot of time into it.
- 4:55And if you know me personally, you watch this show, you know
- 4:58that every single word I used in this story was me.
- 5:03And it's called the Funeral and Resurrection of New York Sports
- 5:08Radio, Why the suits killed it and why voices like mine will
- 5:14save it. And I did this not to put my put
- 5:18myself on a pedestal. I didn't do that.
- 5:20That's not why I wrote it and why I added that to the title.
- 5:24I added it to the title because I've been nothing but honest
- 5:27about New York sports and there's so much breaking news,
- 5:31people being dropped from WFAN. McPherson decided to step down.
- 5:36He says he wasn't fired. That's a whole nother story.
- 5:39I don't know the inside take. Now the midday show is gone.
- 5:43Moving Evan and Tiki to the midday show, they're bringing
- 5:46back Craig Carton. It didn't work out with Fox, so
- 5:50I had my own take on it and I'm not taking shots at Craig
- 5:52Carton. Craig Carton has a big
- 5:54following. I understand why they brought
- 5:56Craig Carton back. What I don't understand is why
- 5:59doesn't WF an look at other talent out there, some of the
- 6:02new talent that brings a different view, brings a
- 6:05different viewership to their network.
- 6:08That was my attack in this story and I went on the INS and the
- 6:11outs of what New York Sports was and what New York sports has
- 6:15become and what it should be in the future.
- 6:19And I just absolutely dropped the hammer on what I think New
- 6:22York sports has really just passed through when it comes to
- 6:27accomplishments that Mike Francesa, Mike and the Mad Dog
- 6:31and what sports media and sports radio really revolutionized to
- 6:34bring it and open up waves around the country.
- 6:38And I had to attack it the way I attacked it.
- 6:41And I'm not, I'm not taking shots at all the suits from ESPN
- 6:45or WFN. And if that's the way you take
- 6:48it, well, then you don't know me.
- 6:50I did this because I am completely appalled by the way
- 6:55the networks are being run right now.
- 6:58I don't think it's right. I don't think it's right that
- 7:01they don't look at the massive amount of great young talent
- 7:05that is out there, that all they have to do is listen and hear it
- 7:10and give it a chance. Even if you don't sign up for a
- 7:13significant amount of time, have them fill in, not have your
- 7:16producers fill in because you think, hey, this guy might have
- 7:21a voice for this this business. How about bringing in new talent
- 7:25that actually have a voice that actually have been doing this a
- 7:28significant amount of time, absolutely have helped the
- 7:31digital wave of the industry and help some of the guys in the
- 7:35industry move up and become high profile producers for those
- 7:40networks or high profiled personalities for those
- 7:44networks. That's where I'm lost on the way
- 7:47this business is being run. And that's all I'm going to say
- 7:49about that. If you really want to check out
- 7:52the story. I was nothing but honest.
- 7:54I was funny. If you know who I am, you know
- 7:57that it was my humor, my analogies, my personality all
- 8:01stamped to one story. I didn't send it to Jabba after
- 8:05at the end of the show, I will send it to Jabba.
- 8:07I think people that understand what sports is and New York
- 8:10sports is will appreciate why I did this.
- 8:14And hopefully the suits, the directors, the producers in this
- 8:19industry right now will take a chance and read it and
- 8:22understand what I'm trying to say.
- 8:24Not thinking that I was taking a shot at them, but understand
- 8:28that this should be a more open, you know, road or open door for
- 8:33fans and talent to take a look at what the future could be with
- 8:39sports radio. And that's all I'm going to say
- 8:41about that. Jabba, what's up, man?
- 8:43How is Nebraska? It's getting cold.
- 8:46We we got up to it was colder this morning when I got up to go
- 8:49to the gym than it is and it's about 12° now it's going to get
- 8:53down to probably about 3. That's just regular temperature,
- 8:56probably windshield, probably minus teens somewhere in there.
- 8:59So it's going to be a frosty one.
- 9:01It'll be an ice rink outside because everything kind of
- 9:03melted this week. We got, we got up to the upper
- 9:0530s, so which is warm for this time.
- 9:07And we had two inches of ice and about 3 or 4 inches of snow
- 9:10depending on where you're at. And then?
- 9:13Is that why you're wearing a beanie?
- 9:15Dude, it's it's cold. Like I said, it just got colder
- 9:18throughout the day. This one I can't put all the way
- 9:20over. This is Carter's team.
- 9:22But it gets too hot and it's like super warm.
- 9:25But I got a bald skillet now, so I got to keep this thing, you
- 9:28know, when it gets cold, I got to keep this thing warm, so.
- 9:31There you go. It's nice and cold over there in
- 9:34Nebraska. I would say the same here in New
- 9:35York. It's about in the 30s and I love
- 9:37this weather, so I'm not going to argue about it.
- 9:40I absolutely think that this is the best weather because the
- 9:43animals, I mean, not the animals, the insects are not
- 9:46making sounds anymore. You can walk outside and just
- 9:49hear dead air. It's fantastic.
- 9:51So it's my favorite time of the year.
- 9:53At 8:00. He will be joining us for our
- 9:55baseball segment. Our friend Washington Nationals
- 9:58radio play by play broadcaster Charlie Slows will be joining
- 10:01us. We'll talk a lot of baseball
- 10:02with him. It's his offseason, so I'm sure
- 10:04he has his own take on what the offseason is going to be like
- 10:08for the Yankees, the Mets, what it's transitioning into for the
- 10:11Mets. Looks like it might be a good
- 10:13offseason if they can get Pete Alonso sign on a dotted line,
- 10:16Edwin Diaz, and maybe make a move for a pitcher coming out of
- 10:19Detroit. Who knows?
- 10:20And the story that we have to get into are the New York
- 10:23Giants, and they are absolutely future right now.
- 10:26The Patriots blew out the Giants on Monday Night Football 33 to
- 10:3015 to become the first team in the NFL to win 11 games.
- 10:36It was also their tenth straight win, putting the Patriots into
- 10:41the number one seed in the AFC, 1/2 of a game ahead of the
- 10:45Broncos. The Giants head into their bye
- 10:48week at 2:00 and 11:00, second worst in the NFL behind only the
- 10:52Titans. Drake May is now the betting
- 10:56favorite at -135 to win the 2025 MVP, moving slightly ahead of
- 11:03Matthew Stafford, which is a + 125 in the odds.
- 11:07In what Vegas is saying is basically a two man race for the
- 11:13award. DAC Prescott is a distant third
- 11:16at 15 to 1, with Jordan Love 4th at 19 to 1.
- 11:21Mike Frabel, in his first year with the Patriots, is also the
- 11:25favorite to win Coach of the year this season.
- 11:27He then took shots at the Giants GM Joe Shane, who cut defensive
- 11:32tackle Corey Durden during the preseason, only for him to be
- 11:39the 18th best defensive tackle in the NFL by PFF Standard for
- 11:44the Patriots. Jackson Dart took another big
- 11:48hit going out of bounds, but said after the game.
- 11:51This is football. We're not playing soccer out
- 11:54here. You're going to get hit.
- 11:57The Giants other first round pick, Abdul Carter was benched
- 12:01for the first quarter after missing yet another team
- 12:05meeting. Apparently this has been an
- 12:07issue for Carter all season. That led to fines from former
- 12:12coach Brian Dabel and two benchings in three games.
- 12:17Now I don't know what's going on with Abdul Carter.
- 12:20I, I don't know. But in the offseason, the Giants
- 12:22are going to have to figure this out because whoever they bring
- 12:25in, if they can't control this kid, you're going to have to
- 12:27move them. You can't control a kid because
- 12:30he thinks he's that much better than his position and where he
- 12:34is on the team. Then he doesn't fit with the
- 12:36Giants. He doesn't fit the Giants
- 12:37culture. Mara needs to step in.
- 12:39He needs to sit down with this kid in the offseason and figure
- 12:42out what is going on in his, I guess, little P brain because
- 12:46you're playing for an organization that's been around
- 12:48a very, very long time that's had so many great, talented pass
- 12:52rushers. Abdul Carter was expected to be
- 12:55one of the best players in this class.
- 12:56He's looked good up and down this year.
- 12:59He's had his good games and he's had his games.
- 13:01He's disappeared. His excuses after the game to me
- 13:05are null and void. I could care less what he has to
- 13:07say. You don't show up till practice.
- 13:09I don't care who the coach is. You have to figure out what your
- 13:12priorities are. Your priorities are team.
- 13:16It's not me. And if it's a me thing, he is
- 13:19not going to fit the culture of what the Giants like to draw to
- 13:24their reputation. I I know the Mara family.
- 13:27I don't know personally, but I've met John Mara before, I've
- 13:30met Steve Tisch. They seem like straightforward
- 13:33guys and they believe in that old style of football, teamwork,
- 13:37football and ownership has to step in and have a conversation
- 13:40with this kid. If he thinks he's bigger than
- 13:42the game, he's not going to fit moving forward.
- 13:45As far as the Giants protecting Jackson Dart, well, they need to
- 13:49figure this out in the offseason because they're going to be a
- 13:53high draft pick. Are they going to trade down or
- 13:56are they going to stay pat at #2 or #3 If they say pat, they get
- 14:00the best offensive lineman in this class.
- 14:02They're going to have to look at The Jets.
- 14:04Say whatever you want about The Jets team as a whole this year,
- 14:07their offensive line has been their strength.
- 14:09What did they do at #7? I think it was #7 they went
- 14:13after Membo. Membo has been one of the best
- 14:15offensive lineman in all of football.
- 14:17Made some mistakes this past week.
- 14:19Nevertheless, he's been one of the more precision persistent
- 14:23and as the most precision at the right tackle position in the
- 14:27whole league in PFFI think he's ranked in the top ten in almost
- 14:31every single statistic. The Giants have.
- 14:33Thomas who can't stay healthy. The Giants need to figure out
- 14:37what they're going to do on that right side.
- 14:38Or are they going to move Thomas to the right side because of his
- 14:41health issue? Jackson Dart is been the only
- 14:45bright side to all of this. The guy goes out there, he plays
- 14:49hard. He needs to figure out how to
- 14:51stop running and putting himself in harm's way.
- 14:53He looks like Mark Sanchez was in his first two years with the
- 14:57New York Jets, as we all know. How do you?
- 14:59How do you tell a kid to stop knowing the game that he's
- 15:01playing? I feel like that's when they get
- 15:03really hurt. I don't know.
- 15:05I I think obviously whoever they bring in as their head coach is
- 15:08going to have to sit down with him and say, listen, you want to
- 15:11have a long lasting career or do you want to have a five year
- 15:13career? Think about it.
- 15:15And I think. We we, we talked about that too
- 15:18before kind of touching on it. But I get like how he wants to
- 15:22play, but man, if you're going to keep doing that, it's you're
- 15:25going to you're not going to be the guy you want to be because
- 15:28you just, you can't withstand that.
- 15:29I mean, I obviously never played at that position or at that
- 15:32level, but I don't want to get, I don't even want to hear the
- 15:35sound of it like, let alone have it happen to me over and over
- 15:38again. I would agree with you, Jabba.
- 15:40And I think obviously the organization needs to figure out
- 15:43first who the coach is going to be and then the offensive
- 15:46coordinator and then figure out how they're going to build this
- 15:49kids confidence in the pocket. We've seen this with Lamar
- 15:53Jackson. When he came into the league,
- 15:54everybody thought he was going to be run, run, run.
- 15:57He figured out how to throw the ball and be more completion
- 16:00ready as a quarterback. And once he figured that out, I
- 16:03think Lamar Jackson became more of the one of the more efficient
- 16:06quarterbacks in the league stepping into the pocket and
- 16:08making the throws. But as far as the the Drake may
- 16:13saga and the the thought that he is going to be the MVP, he is
- 16:19not the MVP of the league. I'm sorry, I don't care what
- 16:21Vegas says, he can win out his games and he probably will
- 16:24because the schedule is just absolutely easy.
- 16:27If you look at the way the schedule is set up, this is the
- 16:31third easiest schedule in NFL history, third in NFL history.
- 16:37Think about that and you're going to give a guy that has one
- 16:40of the easiest schedules in the NFL the MVP.
- 16:44I'm not taking shots at Drake May.
- 16:46I think he's had a sensational year.
- 16:47Is he a top five quarterback? Absolutely.
- 16:49Mikey C was right about this. He he is a top five quarterback.
- 16:52There's no question that he is, but would he be a top five
- 16:56quarterback if his schedule was like, I don't know, Matthew
- 16:59Stafford's Matthew Stafford had a bad game this past week
- 17:03against Carolina. No question that he did.
- 17:05But Matthew Stafford never throws 3 interceptions in a
- 17:07game. I don't think I, I don't even
- 17:09remember the last game he threw into 3 interceptions in a game.
- 17:12So that was, to me, just a shocker and he was the favorite.
- 17:17Now all of a sudden, Drake May beats the Giants A-Team.
- 17:19That's absolutely horrible. And we've seen the way they've
- 17:22played over the last couple of weeks.
- 17:24Even with Kafka taking over for Gable, we're going to sit here
- 17:27today and think that Drake May is the MVP of the National
- 17:30Football League. Ridiculous.
- 17:32Dick Vrabel is Vrabel is the coach of the year.
- 17:37I don't think you could argue that him or McDonald.
- 17:39McDonald's been sensational this year.
- 17:41I can't take any any confidence away from what McDonald has
- 17:47built over there with the Seattle Seahawks and he's got a
- 17:50lot of confidence over there. I think the team has built a
- 17:53great reputation offensively, one of the more precision
- 17:58persistent and has so much precision over there
- 18:01offensively. And this is a defensive minded
- 18:03coach that's really transitioned.
- 18:05Everybody says that defensive coaches can't succeed as an
- 18:08offensive and defensive guy, while McDonald has proven that
- 18:11that is not a fact. But I'm going to tell you this
- 18:15right now. The Patriots, they are on a
- 18:19streak. They've won 10 games in a row.
- 18:21But the way their schedule is set up, is this going to benefit
- 18:24them when they get into the playoffs and they're matched up
- 18:27against one of the better teams in the AFCI?
- 18:29Don't know because I don't care. And by the way, there were a lot
- 18:33of cheap shots in that game by the Patriots, a lot of cheap
- 18:36shots at Jackson Dart. There was a lot of talking at
- 18:40the line of scrimmage, defensive tackles speaking to Jackson Dart
- 18:43when he was trying to get up. I think Jackson Dart was pretty,
- 18:46you know, pretty adamant on after the game.
- 18:49He says this is football and and and this is the way the game is
- 18:52played. But they the Patriots were head
- 18:54hunting. They were trying to hurt him.
- 18:56And in the Giants, who have been an organization that obviously
- 19:01have players that stick up for their quarterback, we've seen
- 19:05Eli Manning over the years get pulverized by teams and then you
- 19:09see Michael Strahan or you would see, I don't know, Justin Tuck
- 19:13or OCU Manor or one of these guys come to his defense.
- 19:18I've seen it many, many times. Remember Antoine Roll?
- 19:20I I remember he got Eli Manning in one game, got head head
- 19:25haunted and Antoine Roll went after one of the safeties that
- 19:29did it in the game. So after the after the game, he
- 19:31went after him. So there there are things that
- 19:36you do in football that obviously gives you the
- 19:40confidence and shows that you're you're you're backing up your
- 19:44player. And I don't think the Giants
- 19:45have done that enough this year for Jackson Dart.
- 19:48I think he he has to, he has to be more of a leader and not sit
- 19:53back and say this is football. I understand what he's trying to
- 19:55do. But if if I'm at the media and
- 19:58I'm speaking to the media, I know I'm being attacked and
- 20:01these guys are talking crap all game long at me.
- 20:04You can see it on television and you can see how many memes have
- 20:08been out there of the Patriots doing it.
- 20:11And nobody's protecting him. Nobody on the Giants offensive
- 20:15line was protecting when they were going on.
- 20:18They were laying on top of him and you see one of the defensive
- 20:20tackles getting up and still talking crap and nobody's
- 20:23getting in his face. You cannot do that.
- 20:27You got to get you got to take these guys by their necks and
- 20:30tell him you felt you F with my quarterback.
- 20:33I'm going to beat the hell out of you.
- 20:35And it just, it just to me, it doesn't show the confidence.
- 20:39And if I was, if I was Jackson, I'd be deathly afraid if I have
- 20:43an offensive line that's not protecting me the way they
- 20:45should. As far as where the Broncos are,
- 20:49the Broncos are probably the worst second place team.
- 20:52And I think the Patriots are the worst first place team we've
- 20:55ever seen. And that doesn't take away what
- 20:58they're doing this year that just really the the Patriots
- 21:01schedule has been horrible and the Broncos have won more games
- 21:05with with three or less points than any team in football.
- 21:09Their offense is horrible. Payton and Sean Payton's
- 21:12supposed to be the mastermind of offensive, the offensive style
- 21:15of game. Him and Andy Reid are the
- 21:17specifically the the smartest guys and Sean McVay and and to
- 21:22me, the offense has been horrible, but the defense has
- 21:25been absolutely unbelievable, even without Patrick Surtain
- 21:29being 100% healthy. And Jack Prescott deserves a
- 21:34little bit more love than third place.
- 21:35I'm sorry, I and I think he's been as good as any one of these
- 21:39quarterbacks with all the losses and and losing Michael Parsons
- 21:44in the beginning of the season, all the tax, new coach,
- 21:47everybody attacking this guy all off season because of the the
- 21:51Patriots, The Cowboys gave him a $60 million contract extension.
- 21:56Everybody saying he's not worth it.
- 21:57Jerry Jones doesn't know what he's doing.
- 21:59He's senile. And they bring in one guy that a
- 22:02lot of people thought they can control.
- 22:04And by the way, they have and, and George Pickens, who's been
- 22:07become one of the top three top four wide receivers in the
- 22:09league this year. I mean, you have to give Dak
- 22:12Prescott a little bit more love for that.
- 22:16I think I think they are like that everything that obviously
- 22:19we've been saying, I showed you specifically and it's like
- 22:22everybody kind is that. I think that the common
- 22:25denominator is like he does deserve more respect and he's
- 22:28always in the conversation. It's like we talk about with
- 22:31poops. He's always the bridesmaid,
- 22:33never the bride and he's always in the conversation and listen
- 22:37to shows this morning off and on.
- 22:38It's kind of what everybody says and what we've been saying is
- 22:41like he needs to deserve a little bit more love for what
- 22:44he's done in the last five years.
- 22:46But everybody's like I I think we do, but he's always in the
- 22:49conversation. He's just not like the
- 22:51conversation and I it's, it's kind of unfair.
- 22:54Does he probably really care? Not really.
- 22:56But I do think he needs more love.
- 22:59And I think it's being shown. It's just it's not to like what
- 23:03it should be for the things that he's done on the field.
- 23:06Speedy, I I know you're a Giant fan and you've watched the
- 23:11Giants your whole life and your root Big Blue, and you watched
- 23:15your quarterback get pulverized in a game and by the way, their
- 23:17kicker coup, whatever you whatever.
- 23:20That was embarrassing, by the way.
- 23:21Absolutely embarrassing. Actually, it doesn't count as a
- 23:24missed field goal. Though he was still 1, he was
- 23:26still perfect for the day. I don't know, maybe maybe he
- 23:28thought he was doing some kind of ballerina move because that
- 23:32was absolutely, that was probably the worst thing I've
- 23:34ever seen a kicker do in a game. I've never seen something like
- 23:38that before in my life. You're up there and all you're
- 23:40supposed to do is kick the ball and you kick your foot into the
- 23:45dirt. That's what you did.
- 23:47And you stood there looking and all you could see is Jackson
- 23:50Dart's face and say, and I read his lips, are you effing kidding
- 23:54me? I mean, think about it.
- 23:55If you look at Jackson Dart's view when they had when the
- 23:59cameras on him, he was like shaking his head.
- 24:01Are you effing kidding me? I mean, I don't think that would
- 24:04have helped the Giants, but what an embarrassment that is.
- 24:08Just so embarrassing. Any Giant fan watching it
- 24:10probably were like what the hell?
- 24:12I would have absolutely completely dropped him after the
- 24:15game. OK, you're done, you're done.
- 24:17I don't want to see you. I've seen enough of you, you
- 24:19memes. Were great What?
- 24:20Is this last name? What is this like, cool?
- 24:22I want to say we're done with cool.
- 24:25You all right, cuckoo? Kudalu.
- 24:27He's cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Or something.
- 24:30That was a good one, Speedy. That's.
- 24:32A good one. Yeah, well, anyways.
- 24:34Good. I was going to say that the the
- 24:35Daniel Jones slipping on his feet blooper will be, I guess,
- 24:38lost in infamy as long as that what's going to go on for
- 24:41another 10 years. But going back to your scene
- 24:43with Dart, though, yeah, he's got to learn how to be able to
- 24:45slide and protect himself a lot better than he has to.
- 24:47Reminds me of Mark Sanchez. Yeah, it's definitely not ideal.
- 24:51You saw Cam Newton do that at the beginning of his career too,
- 24:53when he tried to power. It let's call Aaron Boone.
- 24:56Maybe they should, but nevertheless, they yes, it's an
- 24:58instinctual thing that Dart has to figure out how to play
- 25:01because yes, the offensive line is bad, but a lot of the hits
- 25:03that he's taking are also outside the pocket when he's
- 25:05running or rolling out too. And that's on him or and or the
- 25:08play calling because yes, Brian Dabel definitely affected some
- 25:11of it too, and that was a big reason he got fired as well.
- 25:13But now you're doing with a second coach too.
- 25:14And now the issues come to a rookie quarterback.
- 25:17Is he? Yeah, he's a rookie.
- 25:18He deserves a little bit of a pass.
- 25:19Understandable. But he's going to have to learn
- 25:21that if he wants to play a long enough career as a franchise
- 25:23quarterback, Abdul Carter, he's going to have to learn how to
- 25:25show up to meeting sometimes. He's going to have to learn how
- 25:27to do some of the things that Kayvon learn from what Kayvon
- 25:31Thibodeau did wrong his rookie year, too, because he was doing
- 25:32a lot of crap like that too, and that was the reason he didn't.
- 25:34Develop. This is worse.
- 25:35This might this definitely looks worse because now he's doing
- 25:38with two different coaching Staffs now and he's a he's a guy
- 25:41that was a highly more talented prospect and Thibodeau had some
- 25:44flare like flashy personalities out of his career out of Oregon.
- 25:49Carter was not thought of that way to the same extent.
- 25:52And he was supposed to be that good leader, that good defensive
- 25:54leader as a youngster. And now you're seeing all this
- 25:57stuff. You can't blame Dabel on that
- 25:59forever. Now you're doing it three
- 26:00different times as in that case. Patriots, yeah, they're playing
- 26:04an easy schedule. They're pretty well-rounded
- 26:06team, but yet nothing special overall.
- 26:07Their offensive still players are still kind of a question
- 26:10mark. Defense still has some areas in
- 26:11key positions where I agree with you.
- 26:13They're kind of like the third or fourth team I would trust in
- 26:15the AFC right now. Drake May is definitely second
- 26:17for MVP. But like you said, Stafford's
- 26:19played a harder schedule. He just threw his first
- 26:20interception in 28 gate 28 to 28 touchdowns in that game against
- 26:25the Panthers. I, I will say this and for all
- 26:28the fans out there that are Giant fans, you have to
- 26:32understand that the Giants have always been the, the epitome of
- 26:37respect and, and Tom Coughlin and Bill Parcells, they drew the
- 26:41line from players like this. Abdul Carter would never last on
- 26:45any of those teams. As a matter of fact, Bill
- 26:47Parcells would have said to him, go home, get off the field.
- 26:50Tom Coughlin would have sent him home during the game.
- 26:54I mean, this is an embarrassment.
- 26:55You know you know what though, Errol?
- 26:57None of those teams were two and 11.
- 26:59It's I, I get it. And I'm pissed off about it too
- 27:02as a Giants fan. Don't make any excuse for him.
- 27:05Don't make any excuses for him. I'm going to.
- 27:07I'm just going to throw it out there.
- 27:09There's no leadership on this team.
- 27:11If you can't get your top guy that you drafted to buy in, it's
- 27:16just as simple as that. It's embarrassing.
- 27:19They I mean, the variable calling out Joe Shane thing I
- 27:22loved, you know, variable even goes, you know, the Giant, he
- 27:25had a quote. He goes the giants didn't think
- 27:27he was good enough to be a Giant.
- 27:29We think he's good enough to be a Patriot.
- 27:31And now he's a top 20 defensive tackle in the NFL.
- 27:34It's unbelievable the amount of mistakes Shane's made with that
- 27:36roster. It's look, you could you could
- 27:39say about Thibodeau and them, you know, just not being that
- 27:42good. But the offensive line, Errol,
- 27:44I'm going to I'm going to defend the offensive line.
- 27:46It's the best unit on the team. They're a top 15 offensive line
- 27:50in the all of the NFL since Andrew Thomas came back to the
- 27:52league. He's ranked third in the NFL and
- 27:55PFF score for offensive tackles. Not taking shots in Andrew
- 27:58Thomas. Well, I'm he's he's the best,
- 28:02you know, like he's not as a need to switch to the right
- 28:04side. Illuminor's fine.
- 28:05On the road, it's health. I would move him to the right
- 28:07side. They don't need to draft a
- 28:09tackle at 2 is my point. There's no no reason for it.
- 28:13They need to trade the hell down if they're going to buy into
- 28:16Jackson Dart. That's the obvious thing to do
- 28:19and get a bunch of assets for the future.
- 28:21I just want to throw a little bit of love to the Giants
- 28:24offensive line because there's nothing else to throw love
- 28:26behind. I was watching that coup kick in
- 28:28the middle of the show on Monday, Errol.
- 28:30I almost threw up in the middle of the shot.
- 28:31I couldn't believe what I was watching.
- 28:34I I mean, I, I coach kickers for, for high school football.
- 28:38I've never even seen one of my kids do that.
- 28:40It's this guy's got like the Chuck Knobloch level yips.
- 28:45And with that baseball reference, we have a guest in
- 28:48Errol. We do and, and before we go, we
- 28:51invite him in. I want to say one more thing
- 28:52about the Giants game and we'll get Charlie in.
- 28:56I I have to say this because I know you're all Giant fans.
- 29:00I know Fish, you're a Giant fan. I know Speedy, you're a Giant
- 29:03fan. And I know Mr. Poops is a Giant
- 29:05fan. You cannot make any excuses for
- 29:08Abdul Carter. There is no reason to make
- 29:12excuses for a guy that is supposedly supposed to be a
- 29:15leader. He was a leader at Penn State.
- 29:17Penn State, there was up and downs when he was there last
- 29:20year. No matter what was going on with
- 29:22Penn State, he was a leader there.
- 29:25And you're going to go out there and you're going to make
- 29:26excuses. There's no leadership here, OK?
- 29:28There's no leadership with the Giants.
- 29:30That's fine. You're you're the number one
- 29:32pick for the New York Giants this past year.
- 29:35You were the, what, 3rd pick of the draft and you were supposed
- 29:38to be the most coveted talented player in this class and you're
- 29:42going to go out there, not show up to practices, not show up to
- 29:44team meetings, do whatever you want because you think you're
- 29:47bigger than the team. I'm sorry.
- 29:48There's no excuse to that. And you can't make excuses to
- 29:51that. And that's all I'm going to say
- 29:53about that. And I am tired of hearing Giant
- 29:55fans make excuses for any player, just like I don't make
- 29:58any excuses for Jet players for what we've seen over the years.
- 30:01Garrett Garrett Wilson was one that dropped a hammer on Source
- 30:05Garner this year and Quinton Williams.
- 30:07And where are they right now playing for different teams.

- 31:19right after the show. There's there's a bunch, there's
- 31:24a bunch of specials right now, Charlie, there's here we go.
- 31:28A bunch. But who doesn't like steak?
- 31:30Look at you. You're still sexy, Charlie.
- 31:32You're still sexy. That's a lot.
- 31:33That's a lot of me you got up there.
- 31:35Yeah, a lot of meat, a lot of meat with a lot of you.
- 31:42How you guys doing? Well, good man, how are you?
- 31:45I'm so happy to get you on. I know you've been very, very
- 31:48busy. The season is over.
- 31:49You have to watch that wonderful baseball over there in national
- 31:53world, in Washington, national world.
- 31:55But we all know you. Come from here.
- 31:57We all know you come from the New York area, so I mean,
- 32:01there's something to say about that.
- 32:02But we got a lot of baseball to get into, my friends, and to let
- 32:08you get into the conversation. We're going to bring some fish
- 32:11in and we're going to get into it because there's there's so
- 32:14much that we need to get into and we're going to whip around
- 32:18right now, now. Let's go deep, deep inside what
- 32:22I am excited. This is inside baseball all.
- 32:27Right, Charlie, welcome to our segment Inside Baseball.
- 32:31Thanks for humouring us tonight. We got a bunch of topics we'd
- 32:34like you to have some input on going on in the early offseason
- 32:39here so far this year. So let's get into the Inside
- 32:42Baseball viewpoint here and we'll get it going with our
- 32:47first topic tonight. And we should have the music
- 32:50going. Anyone second, Tommy doesn't,
- 32:53doesn't. I'm not.
- 32:54Doing any? Freaking tag team.
- 32:57There we go, we got it. Here it is.
- 32:59The Mets have given Devin Williams quite a large contract.
- 33:05Three years, 51,000,006 million of which is a signing bonus.
- 33:10So it's really three years, 45,000,000.
- 33:12No opt outs or options deferred over the span of three years for
- 33:16that signing bonus. So Williams follows Juan Soto as
- 33:19Yankees acquisitions who bolted for Uncle Stevie's money over in
- 33:22Queens the last two years. Advanced Analytics say Williams
- 33:26was very unlucky last year and should have been much better
- 33:29than he was. That's kind of funny because I
- 33:31remember him being mostly horrendous for a team that
- 33:34needed him to be much better than that.
- 33:36I'm sure it'll work out for the Mets, though.
- 33:39Errol. I love it.
- 33:41I think it's great for the Mets. Edwin Diaz has a chance to be a
- 33:44Met too. I think the Mets will re sign
- 33:46him. And then you have probably the
- 33:48best 1-2 punch in baseball in your bullpen.
- 33:51I I think Devin Williams was very unlucky last year.
- 33:54Now you just got to get Pete Alonzo signed to the dotted line
- 33:57and then maybe you make a run for scuba.
- 34:00I think it makes a lot of sense for the Mets rotation.
- 34:02You will add scuba and Devin Williams and you bring back Pete
- 34:06Alonzo and Edwin Diaz. I think you have the best summer
- 34:11out there. I think it's a slam dunk for the
- 34:13New York Mets. I think they have to sign Diaz.
- 34:15I mean, he's the guy that's really proven.
- 34:17I mean, Williams best days in the big leagues really one year
- 34:21as a as a closure before that a setup guy.
- 34:24And he had a lot of issues last year pitching for the Yankees.
- 34:27And I guess you put me in the category of being old when you
- 34:31mentioned that he was unlucky based on expected stats.
- 34:36So I'm going to throw a question at Java.
- 34:38Don't you wish when you were playing your your agent could
- 34:41negotiate a deal on expected stats versus what actually
- 34:46happened? I mean, now when a hitter's
- 34:50getting credit for a ball is hit and it doesn't matter if it's
- 34:53caught or not, I mean, it's expected stats now mean more
- 34:57than what actually happens. Yeah, it's it's weird too.
- 35:01And if you go even a step further, Charlie too, it's like,
- 35:04OK, he got out, but his exit velocity and all the other stuff
- 35:07that they they have. And it's like, then they
- 35:09translate it to Parks and he would actually hit 10 more
- 35:12homers or whatever. And, you know, a lot of pitchers
- 35:14are doing that with like, their vertical and horizontal rise on
- 35:17certain mounds when they look at like, hey, I pitched better
- 35:21here. And then now they're doing the
- 35:22analytics of the way the mound sits and this, which is way
- 35:25above my pay grade. I don't know how they do that or
- 35:28whatever. And now on the scoreboard, you
- 35:29can see it as it happens. But yeah, I just, I don't know
- 35:32how to quantify the fact. It's like, OK, I'm getting
- 35:35credit for being kind of good, but it didn't really do I I
- 35:39think it's a great sign for both in the in the way they kind of
- 35:44structured the deal, obviously. And it's not like anything is
- 35:47going to catch him off guard now just because the Mets are a
- 35:50little different than the Yankees, but not as much as
- 35:52going from Milwaukee to New York and and especially with the
- 35:55Yankees. So I think it's great, too.
- 35:58And then I think for him, he's not going to have all the
- 36:00pressure if they do sign Diaz back.
- 36:02If they don't, that's we could be having a different
- 36:04conversation when it comes down to what happens at the end of
- 36:07the game. You think the expected stats are
- 36:09going to matter for Kyle Schwarber?
- 36:11I don't think so. I think he's just doing a yes, I
- 36:15was going to mention the expected stats too, because the
- 36:17Brewers were kind of skewed the other way.
- 36:19Like I think in that in that park, and Charlie, I know you've
- 36:22broadcasted a lot of games there too.
- 36:23You could mostly turn into a pitcher's park.
- 36:25Sometimes when the roof is closed, it could be open and
- 36:27then it could be a hitter's park again.
- 36:29So it could fluctuate with that. With the Yankees, it's the other
- 36:31extreme and all the AL ES ballparks, the other extreme.
- 36:33Now the Mets, it's a different case where they're mostly a
- 36:35pitcher's park. The Phillies are a big hitter's
- 36:37park. The Braves kind of fluctuate.
- 36:39So I think it's going to kind of cancel out in a way.
- 36:41So again, I agree with you, Charlie.
- 36:43I think they do have to lock up Diaz too.
- 36:45If they don't do that, then it doesn't look as good doing both.
- 36:49But I think for the deferred money, for the overall money
- 36:52he's getting with the signing bonus instead of the base
- 36:53salary, I think it's good. I think the success with him in
- 36:56the National League makes a lot of sense why he went back to the
- 36:59National League and now I want to say in the American League
- 37:01East, because he was one of the best relief pitchers in all the
- 37:04baseball in the National League, and he became one of the worst
- 37:08relief pitchers in baseball in the American League.
- 37:10So I think he just wanted to jump ship.
- 37:12He wanted to get the hell out of the American League.
- 37:14I wonder this, I don't know this, this is a better question
- 37:16for our baseball experts here. If it isn't something where if
- 37:20you're a change up pitcher, like he's a change up pitcher, the
- 37:22Airbender, if he can't place his fastball, the change up's not
- 37:27going to work. So is it just a matter of him
- 37:30just fixing the mechanics on the fastball enough that he can
- 37:34place it to get the change up, which is apparently still fine
- 37:37according to those metrics and stuff rates to get back to it so
- 37:41that he can be effective for the Mets as a setup man for Diaz if
- 37:44they resign Diaz? Yeah, I mean, they play off each
- 37:49other and I think that's any pitcher where if that's your
- 37:53strength, you always like everything goes with that.
- 37:56Like if I couldn't throw my fastball, for me, I would spin a
- 37:59slider because it'd get me back over.
- 38:01And for him, I couldn't, I couldn't throw a change up with
- 38:03my life depended on it. So I, I can't tell you how I
- 38:06tried everything under the sun to try and do it.
- 38:08But for him, it's like he just has to be somewhere in the
- 38:11vicinity because the metrics on his board horizontal and
- 38:15vertical with his change up and how he's able to over pronate
- 38:18because you naturally pronate on a baseball.
- 38:20And what did he just has to be somewhere near the zone of this
- 38:22fastball. And we seem to be as high as
- 38:259798, but we also saw it saw it at 9293, which it doesn't really
- 38:30matter because it comes out of the same slot.
- 38:32So you're going to have like that one pitch that gets you
- 38:35there. And for him, his fastball just
- 38:38has to be somewhere in the vicinity for his change up to
- 38:41work. Because it's not like the same
- 38:43as Trevor Hoffman, who didn't need anything else, right?
- 38:46All I mean he just threw change up after change up.
- 38:49I guess we'll find out if he can get it squared away.
- 38:52Let's move on to our next set of signings.
- 38:55And this one is related because it's a now former Mets hopeful
- 39:00late inning reliever Ryan Helsley, who gets a two year $28
- 39:05million deal from the Baltimore Orioles.
- 39:08Jeff Fashion reports the Orioles signed Ryan Helsley to A2 year
- 39:10$28 million deal with an OPT out after the first year.
- 39:14Ports say Tigers and Cubs were interested in signing Helsley
- 39:17and converting him to a starter. Helsley's another one of those
- 39:20advanced analytics darlings because of his stuff metrics,
- 39:24particularly his fastball. But again, this time the Mets
- 39:27fans who saw him be borderline unplayable last year after they
- 39:31acquired him at the deadline. Borderline might be generous a
- 39:33lot. Of guys get traded middle of the
- 39:35year, don't have big impacts on on their new club, but he had
- 39:38one of the most negative impacts of a guy being traded at the
- 39:42deadline over those final two months of the season.
- 39:44But it's all being attributed to that.
- 39:46He was tipping pitches and it took him a long time to figure
- 39:49it out. But he thinks he has figured it
- 39:51out. And I guess the Orioles believe
- 39:53it or they wouldn't be putting this money up front.
- 39:56They think he's going to be the pitcher that had great success
- 39:58with the Cardinals. I think the Mets are getting
- 40:00slapped in the face because they gave up all these prospects and
- 40:04it didn't turn around for them. He didn't do nothing for him.
- 40:07He was horrible. I think his ERA at one point was
- 40:10over 10. He was Devin Williams of the New
- 40:13York Yankees early in the season.
- 40:15Devin Williams got better in the second-half.
- 40:17Helsley was traded in the going into the second-half at the
- 40:21trade deadline and just. I don't know, I honestly think
- 40:25the Mets should have just sent him down to AAA because he he
- 40:29was playing like a AAA pitcher. So I don't know what he's going
- 40:32to be with the Orioles. He is jumping to the American
- 40:36League East with power teams like Boston, the Yankees, the
- 40:39Rays. I wasn't bold.
- 40:42Well for him and he maybe he should talk to Devin Williams
- 40:45because it seems like it's a transition from one to the
- 40:48other. I, I would say I would hope that
- 40:51Halsey looks a lot better this year in the American League
- 40:54East. I bet.
- 40:55I would say don't bet on it. Yeah, as as annoying as I could
- 41:00be with the Mets and what it was, I will be objective and say
- 41:02his peak value was still very strong.
- 41:04He was just he's kind of one of those year to year.
- 41:06Like he's very good in some of his peak years.
- 41:09That 2021 year with the Cardinals when they had that big
- 41:11comeback to make the playoffs was kind of his peak year.
- 41:13And then he's had some other good ones after that too.
- 41:15But the, the reason that I you worry about it is because a lot
- 41:18of the struggles and Charlie, you know, this broadcasting like
- 41:21the Nationals, like a lot of these other bad teams had the
- 41:23biggest innings against him. And that was a big reason why I
- 41:26think that you guys beat us 5, I know, 6 times, like in the
- 41:29second-half of the season, the Marlins are beating all over
- 41:32them. So the Orioles are now going to
- 41:33have to face a division that's very tough to go along with that
- 41:36and an American League collectively that I mean, the AL
- 41:38East is good. The AL West is pretty good too,
- 41:40outside of the Athletics and the Angels really like you're
- 41:43looking at a case of that's going to be some good
- 41:45competition. The Orioles are the Browns of
- 41:48baseball. That's who they are.
- 41:49That's harsh. They're the Browns at baseball.
- 41:52They have all this talent and everybody talks so highly of
- 41:54them. Remember the Browns with Baker
- 41:56Mayfield after that, they had that talented and they had a
- 41:59great year again and lose to Kansas City in the playoffs and
- 42:02they were one expected to possibly win the Super Bowl as
- 42:05Speedy Adam going to the Super Bowl that year and they
- 42:08completely fell off track and then they winded up moving Baker
- 42:11Mayfield in a year, years time. That is the Orioles.
- 42:15They had all this talent. Everybody expects this talent to
- 42:18develop and they slowly but surely can't afford them and
- 42:22they move away from them. This is a perfect comparison.
- 42:25Browns. Orioles.
- 42:26You might be giving the Browns a little too much credit there.
- 42:28We go, Johnny, Where are you, buddy?
- 42:30Now he was right about that. Trade though, because.
- 42:32In addition to Helsley, Cedric Bowles was God awful too that he
- 42:35was benched. And he just got traded to the
- 42:36Rays. Yes, he did.
- 42:40I actually signed as a free agent today.
- 42:41Our free agent. Yeah.
- 42:43But sometimes I've talked about this and, and you've seen it
- 42:45too, Charlie, where it's like, and I think we all have is
- 42:48sometimes change of scenery does more for people than they think
- 42:51just because it, it might be and it might just not be the
- 42:56baseball side of it, which a lot of people don't understand.
- 42:58They, you know, there's so much more to the season than the 9
- 43:01innings that you see like there's, you know, family
- 43:04arrangement, there's, you know, travel.
- 43:05There's, there's so much more that goes into what a baseball
- 43:08season is that a lot of people don't understand.
- 43:11That goes into, you know, obviously people playing hurt
- 43:14and whatever. That's, you know, that's
- 43:15obviously part of the game with, with the season and the grueling
- 43:18schedule that we have. But there's so many factors that
- 43:21go into it where it's like, man, I just need to get out of here.
- 43:23And we, we've seen it both good and bad, obviously.
- 43:26And so you know, some of that guy, I think on the whole, you
- 43:30could, you know, throw what you think in on this.
- 43:33Players traded in the middle of the year.
- 43:35If if you look at all of them over a period of time, there are
- 43:39very few that have a great success with their new club.
- 43:43Over those final few months. You talked about all the things
- 43:45that happened, family upheaval. Now you get the pressure of team
- 43:49traded for you that they're expecting you to deliver.
- 43:52And maybe you weren't you. Maybe you were traded because
- 43:55you weren't having a great year and now you're expected to
- 43:57figure it all out to help A-Team That's in contention.
- 44:01That's that's more pressure than you had at any point during the
- 44:04during the year and try a lot of guys don't do well in that
- 44:07situation. And you know, when player
- 44:09becomes a free agent, they'd rather see who signs now will
- 44:13come to the winter meetings. Nobody likes waiting around
- 44:16until late January, early February and spring treating
- 44:19starting and they got to figure all that out and, and then get
- 44:22to Arizona or Florida right away.
- 44:25Yeah, it's it's tough. Like I've done it both ways for
- 44:27agency. I've never ever done it during
- 44:29the year, but obviously been a part of the things that guys
- 44:32getting traded. I've always, I've always
- 44:34wondered the the perception, the mindset for guys.
- 44:38And I hope I get an opportunity to ask somebody.
- 44:40This is what it's like going from a team that like you kind
- 44:44of said where you might suck and you're out of it, but then
- 44:47you're coming to a team that now is in it and they're expecting
- 44:49you to figure something out because they've seen glimpses of
- 44:52it. And then vice versa.
- 44:54I'm like, Hey, I was in it. Now they can't afford me.
- 44:56I'm going to get too expensive, so they're going to get rid of
- 44:58me. And then it's like, you end up
- 45:00like playing for what? Like I, I would like to know
- 45:02like the mindset and the perspective that you go and it's
- 45:05like, Hey, tell your family to go home because we can start
- 45:08packing our bags for vacation. And now it's like, hey, you
- 45:11might want to hold off on this vacation because now we got a
- 45:14chance to be in the play outline.
- 45:15I wonder what that like perspective, that mindset,
- 45:17because you only get 3 days. Yeah.
- 45:19You know, it's interesting. A couple of years ago, the
- 45:21Nationals had signed Jesse Winker and he was coming off a
- 45:24couple really bad years. He was getting.
- 45:27Booed out of Seattle. He didn't do well in Milwaukee,
- 45:30was getting booed there. The Nationals signed him.
- 45:33If he did well, the team wasn't in contention.
- 45:36They were going to trade him. And he was having a very good
- 45:38year for the Nationals and was ecstatic when he got traded to
- 45:41the Mets. And he was a big impact player,
- 45:44so much so that the Mets resigned him last year.
- 45:47Unfortunately, the injuries he had oblique injuries, you know,
- 45:51can take a long time. And then he he got hurt again,
- 45:55never recovered from his injuries.
- 45:57That's the other thing, you know, if you're a player who's
- 45:59traded, who's been hurt, Even Kyle Schwarber when he had that
- 46:02monster June for the Nationals in 21 when he hit sixteen home
- 46:06runs, he was having an unbelievable year and then blows
- 46:09A hamstring. The Nationals have a terrible
- 46:11July and they got all these players on expiring contracts,
- 46:14including Schwarber who was a non tender off his previous year
- 46:18with the Cubs. When the National signed him,
- 46:20they traded him to the Red Sox. He didn't play for like 6 weeks
- 46:23till that hamstring healed. He did OK with them, but that
- 46:26still helped him get that big deal that now has expired with
- 46:30the Phillies. But you know, I can count very
- 46:33few that are traded in the middle of the year and have
- 46:36great success and parlay that into another big deal.
- 46:40Whether with the club they were traded to.
- 46:42Usually not not. I mean most times you see that
- 46:45that player never resigns with the team that they were treated
- 46:48to, like Helsley. Charlie, it's funny you
- 46:51mentioned the Jesse Waker thing five years ago, like 2019 or so,
- 46:55like that's fans hated him because he was taunting them
- 46:57when he was with Cincinnati. I was actually at the game right
- 46:59after that. They lost one nothing and he I
- 47:01think he caught the game where he in left field the game
- 47:04wouldn't catch for it and they were still booing him at that
- 47:06point. And then five years later, they
- 47:07all love him. He tastes himself all.
- 47:11Right, let's get to the next topic.
- 47:13I'm going to combine these two together because they're both
- 47:15about the Toronto Blue Jays. Let's start with the big news.
- 47:18The Blue Jays John Heyman reports have signed Dylan Cease
- 47:22to A7 year $210 million deal comes out today.
- 47:27Actually 61 million of it is deferred spread out between 2027
- 47:32and 2032. You will also receive a $23
- 47:35million signing bonus that can be deferred.
- 47:38This is despite an only 8 and 12 record on a good team with a
- 47:43four and a half the RFA with his usual impressive strikeout total
- 47:48215. I don't know.
- 47:51I mean, obviously the Blue Jays only have Gaussman and Bieber on
- 47:55expiring contracts this year, but I don't know if this is
- 47:59where I'm spending my money after what I saw him do on a
- 48:03team that was trying to compete if they're trying to get over
- 48:05the top. Well, I will say this.
- 48:08Bieber is no longer going to be a part of his team.
- 48:10He pitched so very well in in the World Series and throughout
- 48:15the playoffs. I expect Bieber to get at least
- 48:1720 million. I I don't think the Blue Jays
- 48:19are going to pay him because they gave Dylan sees this kind
- 48:22of money. Now Dylan sees is a good
- 48:24pitcher. Is he an elite pitcher?
- 48:26Is he worth 210 million? No, now the Blue Jays are
- 48:30reaching and hopefully Dylan sees coming to the American
- 48:33League East a harder division, probably the hardest division in
- 48:37all of baseball. It works out for him.
- 48:39This is very Blue Jays like to go after a pitcher because he's
- 48:44available and he looks like he's a shiny, shiny dollar or shiny
- 48:50100 and or shiny coin and it's going to turn into gold.
- 48:55I think this is going to be an absolute downfall for the Blue
- 48:58Jays. This is a bad move for them.
- 49:00It doesn't make any sense. But again, it is the Blue Jays
- 49:04and they did give Vladimir Guerrero Junior the money they
- 49:06did upfront and it worked out for him.
- 49:09So maybe they hit it out of the ballpark with Dylan CS.
- 49:12My opinion, it's an absolute downfall for them.
- 49:15This is a bad move by them. It's interesting they signed
- 49:18Cody Ponce, who was pitching the KBO and supposedly turned his
- 49:22pair around and just gave him a three-year, $30 million deal
- 49:26after what he did in the KBO and expect him to be in the starting
- 49:30rotation with Gozman. You Savage.
- 49:33It was tremendous in the postseason, the young rookie and
- 49:36I. And I saw today that they're
- 49:38open to trading Jose Barrios. And then, of course, you still
- 49:41have Max Scherzer who wants to come back there.
- 49:44If not, some of the talk is that he could end up with the Giants
- 49:47because the guy who was his pitching coach at Missouri in
- 49:51the early 2000s is now the manager of the San Francisco
- 49:55Giants. How about that?
- 49:56That's. A.
- 49:57Full circle, yeah. He played against him in
- 49:59Missouri. He threw like 112.
- 50:01He was he he was the only one to beat me that year.
- 50:03He won Pitcher of the Year. I want newcomer of the year.
- 50:05I still hold it against him. I bet he hasn't forgotten a
- 50:10second of it because 100 that dude is that dude is nuts when
- 50:13it comes to like remembering things and it's just he's he.
- 50:17He was a very like playing against him and you hear all the
- 50:20stories then having a chance to to play with him in Detroit and
- 50:25I've been playing against him since I've been in college.
- 50:27So kind of just seeing his demeanor as he's gone through.
- 50:30He he was a treat. I can I can say that here is a.
- 50:34Treat. I was around him for the 6 1/2
- 50:37years, almost 7 with the Nationals.
- 50:40Nothing was more fun than the day he pitched, watching
- 50:43everything he did. There's nobody like him.
- 50:47There just isn't. I mean, he would come in spring
- 50:50training. I was doing AQ and A with a
- 50:52couple of rookie pitchers at the time and he was standing in the
- 50:55back when the thing was was coming to a close and I had no
- 50:59idea why he was there. He had no function.
- 51:02He was waiting for those two guys to be done.
- 51:04He's like, come on, rookies, we're going to watch video and
- 51:07not video of him, video of them because he wanted to help them
- 51:11get better. Because the only thing that
- 51:12meant is we were going to win more games.
- 51:14And that's the only thing he cared about.
- 51:16Did you ever watch his bullpen days?
- 51:19Oh, it's all the time. Full uniform.
- 51:22He's going out there like I'm watching the coverage of the
- 51:25World Series this year and they're showing like like nobody
- 51:28had ever seen this before. But every day that he pitches,
- 51:32when he goes out his pre warm up in the outfield where he's just
- 51:37working on his pick off move and looking over his shoulder and
- 51:40he's got a routine. You know, they asked why are you
- 51:43throwing your bullpen in full uniform?
- 51:45He goes, well, I'm trying to simulate what I do in the game.
- 51:48I don't pitch in AT shirt in the game.
- 51:49So I'm going to throw in my full uniform.
- 51:52And after, you know, stuff starts to rub off.
- 51:54When Dusty Baker was the manager, he'd tell young
- 51:57pitchers who were staying around and go watch what Max doing.
- 52:00Go talk to him, Find out what he eats, how long he sleeps, find
- 52:04out everything. That he does.
- 52:06Not that all of it will translate, but that's the way
- 52:08everyone looked at Max. Yeah, it was funny.
- 52:11One of the I went to a game in 2016 in Washington and like
- 52:15they, you know, obviously has a different, two different color
- 52:17eyes, the way they like put it in the left center field.
- 52:19Like I don't know if it's a poster or it's like just a kind
- 52:22of Brandy. Like it was really cool the way
- 52:24they did it with the effects and.
- 52:26Hey, post season game, Dusty Baker went out there to talk to
- 52:31him. Max would want to come out of
- 52:33the game. He goes I'm trying to trust you.
- 52:34I'm looking at two different eyes and Max said.
- 52:37The brown eyes, the baseball eye.
- 52:38And then I saw like all these, all the road teams are doing it
- 52:41on the Jumbotron for a while too.
- 52:42And like they were kind of just duplicating that effect.
- 52:44But you guys did a left center field that was very cool.
- 52:47Going back to the SEAS contract, if it wasn't a deferred money, I
- 52:49probably would be questioning why it was 7 years because of a
- 52:52guy that's been very injury prone in his career, kind of
- 52:54streaky up and down, good strikeout stuff always
- 52:56throughout his career, but also has been immune to the home run
- 52:58ball for a pitcher of his caliber too.
- 53:00So if it wasn't deferred money, I would probably would question
- 53:03it too. But like I will say it's another
- 53:04veteran right-handed pitcher that goes to the Blue Jays.
- 53:06They already have Gossman who's good barrios.
- 53:09You're saying Charlie, Maybe they trade him now as a result
- 53:11of this. I'm surprised they did it
- 53:12though, as a result of how well you savage pitch in the at the
- 53:15end of the season and then in the playoffs it.
- 53:16Doesn't make any sense. It really doesn't make any
- 53:19sense, but it's very Blue Jays like everything the Blue Jays
- 53:23does makes no sense. But it it worked out this year
- 53:27with Vladimir Guerrero because he keep he became a playoff
- 53:30superstar. One of the greatest runs I've
- 53:32ever seen a player have throughout a playoff.
- 53:35So maybe they were right about him, but this is.
- 53:39Tell you what it. Makes you shake if.
- 53:41Kinder, for Lefa doesn't slide. They're the world.
- 53:44They're the world champions. I would agree with.
- 53:47You pretty well it was not. It wasn't A tag play, but I
- 53:50guess instinct said slide and he could have just run right
- 53:54through home plate on a force play.
- 53:55He would have beaten the play and they would have won the
- 53:57World Series. And and and Yankee fans, please
- 54:00Brian Cashman, stay away from kind of Falafa.
- 54:04I do not want to again. They're going to have a breakup
- 54:08and then he's going to go back. I do not.
- 54:09They're saying there's, they're saying that the Yankees are the
- 54:12lead team to get them. What are they, nuts?
- 54:14To make them their starting shortstop.
- 54:16Again, it's horrible. It's a horrible move.
- 54:18Brian Cashman, you better not do that.
- 54:21As a utility, As a utility player.
- 54:24OK, Yeah. It makes no sense.
- 54:26It makes no sense. Well, let's talk about another
- 54:28one of Brian Cashman's wonderful decisions over the years.
- 54:32And now years later, No, please. Sonny Gray ends up on our rival
- 54:40Boston Red Sox. Yes, the Cardinals traded Sunny
- 54:43Gray to the Red Sox for Red Sox #5 overall prospect, right hand
- 54:47pitcher Brandon Clark and right pitcher Richard Pitts and a
- 54:50player to be named later a cash considerations.
- 54:52On his way over to Boston, Gray took shots at his now rival and
- 54:55former team, the Yankees, saying he never wanted to be traded
- 54:58there and they are an organization that are easy to
- 55:01hate. Yankees fans mostly remember
- 55:03Gray as being an absolute disaster in the Bronx and are
- 55:05excited to go see him play the place where he apparently had
- 55:08even worse numbers in his career, Fenway Park, than he did
- 55:12in at Yankee Stadium. So in my opinion, probably the
- 55:16best example, Sonny Gray is a guy who couldn't handle the big
- 55:19media market of New York. Well, I don't think it's going
- 55:22to be a whole lot. Different.
- 55:24I don't think that's going to be a whole lot different in Boston.
- 55:27I mean, New York, Boston and Philadelphia, you got to perform
- 55:31or, or it gets tough really fast.
- 55:34I mean, Saint Louis, this was the first time I've ever seen
- 55:40the attendance drop like it did. And you go there and there's
- 55:4317,000 an ounce and it looked like there were 5000 in
- 55:46ballpark. But if you played there, you
- 55:49never got booed until this year. You started to see that.
- 55:53But you're talking about if if you think you're going to Boston
- 55:56and it's going to be a whole lot less than New York, I don't
- 56:00know. What do you think?
- 56:01Java let me a lot of pressure to play in Boston.
- 56:03Yeah. I don't, I don't know, kind of
- 56:06what he was thinking, to be honest with you, because it's
- 56:11it's funny how he's going to say this to try to get on the good
- 56:15side of Red Sox fan says now it's like, OK, you're part of
- 56:18this rivalry even though, you know, you've only played for the
- 56:21Yankees, so on and so forth. Right.
- 56:23But if you go back and read some of what he said and when in like
- 56:252017 and even later, it's, you know, everybody dreams of
- 56:29playing for the Yankees, blah blah.
- 56:30Now he's talking out of the other side of his mouth, which
- 56:33doesn't do him any good. Because now what's going to
- 56:36happen is he can't win for loser no matter what he does.
- 56:40Because unless he goes out and wins a Cy Young and they win a
- 56:43World Series, he's not going to. He's going to be a fail because
- 56:46he didn't live up to the shit talking that he did to the
- 56:48Yankees fans. He's not going to lose Austin
- 56:51fans. And if he doesn't beat New York,
- 56:52to add on top of it, this dude might as well crawl in a hole
- 56:55and never come out of Nashville where he lives.
- 56:57He just created the ultimate blackboard material.
- 57:00Didn't he? Unbelievable.
- 57:02Unbelievable. Let me ask Sonny Gray one
- 57:04question. Johnny Damon played for the
- 57:05Yankees for a very long time, and he also played for the Red
- 57:08Sox. Johnny Tamon for years took
- 57:11shots at the Red Sox organization that they don't
- 57:13know how to treat players. And then he came to the Yankees
- 57:16and he said the Yankees treat their players like they're
- 57:18golden, like they there are five star restaurants everywhere they
- 57:21go is five star. They treat their players with so
- 57:24much respect. And now this guy, because Sonny
- 57:27Gray couldn't get along with the fans, couldn't pitch a lick in
- 57:30New York, he's going to take shots at the fans and take shots
- 57:34at the Yankees organization. You know what I would say to
- 57:36that? Go ask all the former Red Sox
- 57:39that became Yankees how the Yankees treated them because
- 57:42every single one of them that I've heard through the past
- 57:45leaving the Red Sox and came to the Yankees, including Wade
- 57:48Bonds, who came to the Yankees in 96 to win a World Series,
- 57:53said the Yankees organization is so classy.
- 57:57It's one of the classiest organizations I've ever been
- 57:59around. And he was a red sock his whole
- 58:01career. So, Sonny, stop bitching.
- 58:04All right? That's all I'm going to say.
- 58:05All you do is bitch. And you shouldn't be called
- 58:08Sonny anymore. You should be called manly
- 58:11because you don't have a man hair in your pants because you
- 58:15can't say anything right at any view to a Yankee fan.
- 58:20You're a failure with the Yankees and you're going to be a
- 58:23failure with the red. Sox.
- 58:24You know, all he had to do, honestly.
- 58:26And the thing that you learn with these bigger markets or any
- 58:30market, if he would have came out and said, yeah, you know
- 58:33what? Because they asked him about the
- 58:35Yankee Red Sox. Robbie, right, Going to look
- 58:37good. And so many eyes talk about I'm
- 58:39really looking forward to being part of this rivalry.
- 58:41It's a great thing for, you know, for baseball and sports in
- 58:44general. And you know what?
- 58:46I didn't cut it in New York. I want to go out and be better
- 58:48than I was in New York and Boston.
- 58:51They would have had that. He would have been perfect
- 58:53because he would have killed him with kindness on the New York
- 58:55side because you know what? He admitted he sucked starring.
- 58:58All right, at least whatever. We can't really bag somebody.
- 59:01It's like when you talk about Charlie Sheen, he said he was
- 59:03doing 8G rocks with hookers. You can't talk any worse crap
- 59:06about him because he just told you what it is.
- 59:08So if he goes and says, hey, I'm terrible, sorry, I'm want to be
- 59:12better for this rivalry boom. Like he would have literally
- 59:16been. He could have gotten away with a
- 59:19couple of hiccups and even lose the Yankees and then be like,
- 59:21see, you stink. But Boston been like, OK, he he
- 59:24hit a guy or something like there's ways he could have gone
- 59:26about this to look good. He set himself up for failure
- 59:30right before he even goes throw 1.
- 59:33Bitch. Randy Johnson won 17 games two
- 59:35years in a row, but he dropped a cameraman and nobody cared what
- 59:38he did and. Always become one.
- 59:41As long as she's using dude wipes and taking.
- 59:43Care of my that's. Good.
- 59:44So Charlie, I do have to mention this.
- 59:46This is the origin story. So three years before we ever
- 59:48first had you out the show, I had my trial show essentially at
- 59:53the Worldwide Sports Radio Network, Carol and two other
- 59:55guys and they were talking about guys.
- 59:57Obviously it was July 21st. So it's right around the MLB
- 1:00:00trade deadline and. I forget it was Maddie Caps and
- 1:00:02it was somebody else that were really wanted.
- 1:00:04Sonny Gray on the Yankees and I. You know what I said?
- 1:00:07Yeah, I remember that. I was very skeptical of it
- 1:00:10because he was a softer throwing, like not high velocity
- 1:00:13and not a high strikeout rate pitcher.
- 1:00:15At that time I was saying they should have tried to trade for
- 1:00:17Verland. Do you remember the line I used
- 1:00:19for him? No, I don't.
- 1:00:21I wish I did. Sonny is a dummy.
- 1:00:24That's what I said during the show and and that was the line I
- 1:00:28used and I remember it like it was yesterday.
- 1:00:30You go back and you remember what I said.
- 1:00:32I did not want Sonny Gray. I did not think he was going to
- 1:00:35work out here. He's small, he's he.
- 1:00:38He throws a lot of off speed pitches and it wasn't going to
- 1:00:41work out in Yankee statement. By the way, he gives up a lot of
- 1:00:44pop ups. Yeah, and I was skeptical of the
- 1:00:45same thing at the time, too. Now, he was a good postseason
- 1:00:48pitcher, which is something that the Yankees needed for a while
- 1:00:50because outside of Tanaka, they really didn't have that second
- 1:00:52postseason pitcher. And he actually was pretty good
- 1:00:54with the A's. But I was worried about that
- 1:00:56when he first got traded over there to the Yankees.
- 1:00:57And I had a feeling it wasn't going to last over there.
- 1:01:00And at the time, I was, OK, it's going to be a small parks issue.
- 1:01:03He goes to Cincinnati and he actually pitches well.
- 1:01:05So I'm like, no, maybe it was a market issue.
- 1:01:07And like you, both Charlie and Java were discussing.
- 1:01:09So like, how much of those can you be able to handle in a super
- 1:01:12harsh media market? And now you go to Boston.
- 1:01:14So yes, you might have your chipper on your shoulder getting
- 1:01:16to play against the Yankees, the other ALS East teams.
- 1:01:18But again, Fenway Park is no factor to small ballparks
- 1:01:21either. The rah rah shish kumba.
- 1:01:26All right, let's move on. We got another one revolving
- 1:01:30around the Yankees. This one.
- 1:01:33I actually saw Mr. Jabba Chamberlain tweeting about this
- 1:01:36while it was happening in real time.
- 1:01:39Hal Steinbrenner said that would be pretty good for the Yankees
- 1:01:45to save some money this year. That, you know, it's not it just
- 1:01:50because the report says that, you know, just like we said with
- 1:01:54Odell, 100 million goes real quick on Monday.
- 1:01:57Oh, Hal said that 700 million revenue that the Yankees are
- 1:02:01getting, you know, there's a lot of costs and overhead that we
- 1:02:05don't really get it as fans. There's a lot that has to go
- 1:02:09into it before. So, you know, like the Yankees
- 1:02:13need to find a way to save some money for Hal's benefit.
- 1:02:16Mike Francesa, as we know, took lots of shots at Hal for this
- 1:02:21and said that he added the Dodgers made the Yankees look
- 1:02:24like an 8 bowl organization. George would have never allowed
- 1:02:27the Dodgers to do this. I can't believe the Yankees are
- 1:02:31saying they're not making a profit.
- 1:02:34I mean, it's not looking the way that we want.
- 1:02:39When you hear it come out that so many teams in baseball are
- 1:02:44not turning a profit, I mean, I watched this year commissioner
- 1:02:48go around to each team and talk to them about how trying to set
- 1:02:52the table for the labor negotiations and tell players,
- 1:02:56you know, this continues. Only a few players are going to
- 1:02:59make big money and the rest of you are going to be stuck around
- 1:03:01the minimum. I mean, I've, I've heard that
- 1:03:04speech from in sports for how many decades now?
- 1:03:08And you look at every sport, even with the salary cap, you
- 1:03:11know, the money keeps going up and TV revenue keeps getting
- 1:03:14bigger and bigger. So at the same time that he's
- 1:03:18saying this to the players, he comes out of these meetings and
- 1:03:21talks to reporters and you have all these new TV deals coming in
- 1:03:26that he's setting up now to run through 28 before they put it
- 1:03:29all up for auction, including streaming package to involve as
- 1:03:33many teams as possible. And then say that attendance on
- 1:03:37average baseball better than it's ever been.
- 1:03:39So if you're a player, you're hearing two different stories
- 1:03:43coming from, you know, each side of his mouth, unless, you know,
- 1:03:47you look back my previous life, I worked in the NBA for 11
- 1:03:51years. The NBA had the boom after the
- 1:03:53salary cap. And they did that to save the
- 1:03:56league. But the only way it worked with
- 1:03:58the union is they opened the books and said, we're going to
- 1:04:01give you 51% of everything that we make and you're going to be
- 1:04:05able to see it. The baseball owners want a
- 1:04:07salary cap. They're never going to open the
- 1:04:09books and show you all the money that they're making that's
- 1:04:12outside of attendance and all these other deals.
- 1:04:15And who knows what is involved with these betting companies
- 1:04:18that are doing all this advertising.
- 1:04:20And if we ever go there, the worst thing that's ever happened
- 1:04:27to sports and athletes because you all I can say is what did
- 1:04:32they think was going to happen? I will.
- 1:04:35I will say this, I like Mike Francesi.
- 1:04:37Everybody knows he's a guy that I look up to when it comes to
- 1:04:40radio, and I love that he attacked Hal Steinbrenner.
- 1:04:44But the fact here is the Yankees are one of the richest teams in
- 1:04:48all of professional baseball. And Francesca.
- 1:04:51Yankees and Dallas Cowboys, right?
- 1:04:52Yeah. And Francesca, and they sell
- 1:04:55more. I buy more.
- 1:04:56I buy more Yankee hats than anybody does.
- 1:04:58So I know I put a lot of money in the Yankees pockets.
- 1:05:01So if I'm doing it, I know there's other fans doing the
- 1:05:04same thing. I've got a million different
- 1:05:05hats and different colors for the New York Yankees.
- 1:05:08I absolutely believe that Al Steinbrenner is making excuses.
- 1:05:12I don't like to defer money. I think baseball needs to step
- 1:05:14in and do something about it. But nevertheless, I think he's
- 1:05:18absolutely right. The Yankees should be going out
- 1:05:20there and spending mucho De Niro, even though they're one of
- 1:05:23the the top five teams in baseball.
- 1:05:25They were the number one team in baseball when it comes to
- 1:05:27salaries and now they fall into 3rd or 4th.
- 1:05:30That to me is a problem. And when the Yankees are getting
- 1:05:33outbidden for Juan Soto, even though I didn't want Juan Soto,
- 1:05:36I, I put it on paper. I did not want to keep Juan
- 1:05:39Soto. I just believe that it was
- 1:05:42embarrassing watching the Mets win a bidding contest for Juan
- 1:05:47Soto. It was embarrassing.
- 1:05:48And the Yankees. And he's right.
- 1:05:49Francesca's right. George Steinbrenner would have
- 1:05:51never let that. Happen.
- 1:05:53No way. No way.
- 1:05:54Never let that happen. He he probably would not have
- 1:05:57gone through the season without making a change in the dugout
- 1:06:00either. Yeah, he would have gotten to a
- 1:06:02lot more extreme measures. And you're talking about like
- 1:06:04you were mentioning Charlie too, like some of these owners that
- 1:06:06aren't going to change their ways just based on that too.
- 1:06:08Like George Steinbrenner was still going to commit to his way
- 1:06:11no matter what if he was still there.
- 1:06:12Hal Steinbrenner is still going to.
- 1:06:13I'm not going to say like spend like like the Brewers do or
- 1:06:17anything like that, but. Like, you know, the biggest
- 1:06:19problem they have in the game when they talk about, oh, we
- 1:06:21need a salary cap because of competitive balance.
- 1:06:25OK, well, all these teams taking revenue sharing, there's nothing
- 1:06:29that forces them. Although there there was a
- 1:06:31penalty involved, like for the Marlins and the Pirates, at some
- 1:06:34point they had to add more money to payroll to avoid a penalty.
- 1:06:38I remember that. But most of the time we don't
- 1:06:40know if this revenue sharing that's going to these smaller
- 1:06:42market teams is going immediately into the Major
- 1:06:46League payroll. And you know, their way around
- 1:06:49that is to just add more teams to be allowed to get into the
- 1:06:52playoffs. And that way, you know, those
- 1:06:55teams that don't spend go, you know, what, if we have a lucky
- 1:06:57year, we we had a few pieces and we're hanging around 500 in
- 1:07:02July. We're in the wild card hunt here
- 1:07:04and we have a shot. And then maybe we get in and
- 1:07:06maybe we get lucky and and get deep in the tournament.
- 1:07:09So that's but to me and and I love to hear like with Jabba
- 1:07:15being an ex player with this, the difference salary and how
- 1:07:20much you spend. Even though the Dodgers are
- 1:07:22back-to-back, there's no guarantee that you're going to
- 1:07:25be healthy enough to get through the postseason win.
- 1:07:29But but it what it does do is sell out your ballpark during
- 1:07:33the regular season. And that's why they have all
- 1:07:35that money. And the teams that look at San
- 1:07:38Diego, if you go back 15 years, they didn't have big crowds
- 1:07:41coming to Petco Park. Now you added superstars to that
- 1:07:45team and that's one of the best atmospheres in baseball.
- 1:07:48That's it's amazing to go watch a Padres game there.
- 1:07:51It doesn't, no matter who they're playing, it's just a
- 1:07:53tremendous atmosphere and a ballpark is sold out every
- 1:07:56night. And that's why they have the
- 1:07:58money to spend and give these these these big contracts.
- 1:08:01But that's what fills the seats. People are not going to go watch
- 1:08:04a team that doesn't have any star players on a cold night in
- 1:08:08April or September unless they're in contention and you
- 1:08:11have a chance to win. Yeah, I think.
- 1:08:14And they go hand in hand because they they spend the money to
- 1:08:18have those guys with jersey sales, with all the other stuff
- 1:08:21to get people in the seats. But then why the TV deals keep
- 1:08:26coming is because now it's like, OK, well, if they're not
- 1:08:29watching here, they're watching it somewhere else.
- 1:08:30And they're going to they're going to buy whatever package or
- 1:08:33whatever it is to be able to make sure that they watch their
- 1:08:36favorite player. They could live all the way
- 1:08:38across the country and then do that.
- 1:08:40But then they follow them no matter what.
- 1:08:41If you switch teams, though, some don't whatever, but it
- 1:08:44just, I think it goes hand in hand.
- 1:08:46And it was always funny too, because it's like once the
- 1:08:49playoffs start, obviously you go into playoff shares, you're
- 1:08:52going as well. How much money is actually
- 1:08:54really going into the pocket? I know you travel with both
- 1:08:57accountants and but I know it's ticket sales, but then it's like
- 1:09:00OK, concessions and all the other stuff.
- 1:09:02And what goes with that and the ticket prices from the stuff
- 1:09:06that you don't sell because then what do they go?
- 1:09:09It's it's all interesting, but you're 100% right because what
- 1:09:12are they doing is putting names in seats and they can pay this
- 1:09:16money now because of all these extra things that they did.
- 1:09:20And you see why other teams aren't making a bunch of money
- 1:09:23even though they have a buttload of money is because they don't
- 1:09:26have any other team they want to watch so that you don't want to
- 1:09:29watch them. What then?
- 1:09:30Then what's it matter? Like you're not going to get in
- 1:09:32anyways. It was what that is probably 10
- 1:09:35years ago when the Marlins were getting in trouble.
- 1:09:37Then they signed Jose Reyes and Burley in the same year and they
- 1:09:40thought they were going to win. Well, obviously that didn't
- 1:09:43happen. You know, it's owning a baseball
- 1:09:46team is being part of a big exclusive club.
- 1:09:50And I think for some, it's just to be in the club and that's
- 1:09:54good enough. And I, I, you know, I don't feel
- 1:09:57like when I watched some franchises that they put
- 1:10:00themselves in the position to win and, and to succeed both on
- 1:10:05and off the field. Because, you know, a team like
- 1:10:07the Potteries maybe hasn't won a World Series.
- 1:10:10But now still, in terms of what they do to be competitive every
- 1:10:14year and put people in the park, they're, they're right in the,
- 1:10:17they're in the elite. They're in the top three or four
- 1:10:20in baseball now. I, I want to say something, not
- 1:10:23fish. Jabba, you brought up
- 1:10:25accountants and where the money is going.
- 1:10:27That reminds me of somebody that played for the Dodgers, somebody
- 1:10:31that had five or six accountants and didn't know where 20
- 1:10:35something $1,000,000 was going. And Jabba was one of very few
- 1:10:40people that came out and said, well, we don't know what he did,
- 1:10:43so we don't know what he did. We can't blame him for it.
- 1:10:46I'm going to tell you, John, he's guilty.
- 1:10:52That's all I'm going to say. Baseball.
- 1:10:54Was not by who? By whose standards?
- 1:10:56Who's he guilty at? Yours.
- 1:10:58Everybody's standard that's been on this show, ex baseball
- 1:11:02players, but you, you're the only one that thinks that he
- 1:11:05knew nothing about this and he should be absolutely let go and
- 1:11:10let it flow. You're the only one, the only
- 1:11:13one that's been on this show that has come out and said that
- 1:11:16he knew nothing about it. Hey, if you're standing by
- 1:11:18yourself, even if you're standing doesn't matter.
- 1:11:23Interesting. Well, maybe we'll find out more
- 1:11:24about that case next. Time.
- 1:11:26I doubt it. No, you won't.
- 1:11:27I doubt it. John was going to be hired as
- 1:11:31the guy to cover all of it up. I doubt it.
- 1:11:34Anyways, Charlie, we love you man, and we'd love for you to
- 1:11:37come on whenever you want. If you want to stay on, we have
- 1:11:40to interview Quinton Jammer. You can stay in the back.
- 1:11:43If we have other segments, you can come and join us after that.
- 1:11:46But you're more than welcome to. But we are going to have a very
- 1:11:49special guest first time on our show.
- 1:11:51Quinton Jammer is going to be joining us.
- 1:11:52But we do have my deuce of the day.
- 1:11:55The deuce of the day you log not a log.
- 1:11:58I don't have a log, but no. Yeah, ladies and gentlemen, I
- 1:12:09really don't know what's going on in Clipperville.
- 1:12:13It really makes no sense. And this story seems to be just
- 1:12:17absolutely ridiculous as Chris Paul went on social media 5
- 1:12:23minutes ago, well before before the game where I really before
- 1:12:27shoot around and said just found out I'm being sent home.
- 1:12:31And what's so interesting about this story is Chris Paul wasn't
- 1:12:36told at any point before they before the game or really
- 1:12:41heading to the really heading to the basketball, the Clipper, you
- 1:12:45know, the Staples Center, wherever the hell he was, he was
- 1:12:48he, he was Lawrence Frank reached out to him and said
- 1:12:51something very interesting and said like, listen, we're going,
- 1:12:55we're going to let you go. We're going to do whatever we
- 1:12:56can to give you an opportunity for your next step of your
- 1:13:01career. So we're going to do whatever we
- 1:13:03can to help you with your next step.
- 1:13:05And then Lawrence Frank went out on social media and said this
- 1:13:09about Chris Paul. He said Chris is a legendary
- 1:13:13Clipper who has had a historic career.
- 1:13:17I want to make one thing very clear.
- 1:13:20No one is blaming Chris for our underperformance.
- 1:13:25I accept responsibility for the record we have right now.
- 1:13:29No one is blaming Chris for our underperformance.
- 1:13:32I accept. And then he says there are a lot
- 1:13:36of reasons why we have struggled.
- 1:13:39We're grateful for the impact Chris has made on the franchise.
- 1:13:44You know, and now there's stories coming out that him and
- 1:13:47Tyron Lou, we're not getting along.
- 1:13:49And maybe one of the reasons why is because Tyron Lou was his
- 1:13:52back out, but backup point guard over there in Charlotte.
- 1:13:55I don't know what the story is, but you can see that Tyron Lou
- 1:14:00and Chris Paul did not like each other.
- 1:14:02There was back and forth banter early this season about how this
- 1:14:06is going to work. He wanted to come back to
- 1:14:08Clipperville because that was where he loved his time playing
- 1:14:12basketball. He said that his best time of
- 1:14:14his basketball career was playing for Lob City and Doc
- 1:14:17Rivers. We know Lawrence Frank was a
- 1:14:19part of the, I think he was the assistant, one of the assistant
- 1:14:23coaches over there under Doc Rivers, if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:14:26And now he's the the president of basketball operations over
- 1:14:29there with the Clippers. I don't get this.
- 1:14:32I think that it just shows Lawrence Frank doesn't know what
- 1:14:34he's doing and that Tyronn Lue seems to have all the power in
- 1:14:39the world to push out a Hall of Famer, one of the great point
- 1:14:42guards we've seen in the last 15 years of the NBA.
- 1:14:45Everybody keeps talking and comparing point guards and why I
- 1:14:48believe Chris Paul is in a top five point guard of all time.
- 1:14:51This guy is definitely a top five point guard of all time
- 1:14:54defensively and offensively. Yes, he's never won a title.
- 1:14:57Yes, he's never taken a team. Well, he's been to 1 Finals.
- 1:15:01Actually. He did it with Phoenix, but
- 1:15:02nobody remembers that. But he really, to me, he had
- 1:15:06many, many chances to be a part of good organizations, one of
- 1:15:10them the Lakers. But David Stern decided to step
- 1:15:14in and make sure that didn't happen.
- 1:15:16He probably wins three titles over there with the with the
- 1:15:19Lakers. If he did get traded over there,
- 1:15:21he just has had bad luck and couldn't stay healthy on his
- 1:15:24playoff runs. I do believe this guy is one of
- 1:15:28the more underachieving players we've ever seen in NBA history,
- 1:15:32but absolutely one of the greatest point guards I've ever
- 1:15:35seen, and this is a shameful thing the Clippers did to one of
- 1:15:38their biggest superstars. I think this is wrong.
- 1:15:40I think Tyronn Lue should be fired because the reason why
- 1:15:43they're not winning is because of the coaching.
- 1:15:45He doesn't know what he's doing. His rotation is putrid,
- 1:15:48terrible, disgusting, and he doesn't have enough talent
- 1:15:51there. He's got a bunch of washed up
- 1:15:53players really, that are bullhogs.
- 1:15:55That's about it. This is the Jabba and the Mouth
- 1:16:00Sportsman ads. All right everybody, Aaron
- 1:16:03Fishman here with your sportsman.
- 1:16:04I've got a couple of stories before we get into this.
- 1:16:06Scores this evening for Knicks first round draft pick Denil
- 1:16:10Gallinari is calling it a career.
- 1:16:12After 16 years in the NBA, the former future of the Knicks has
- 1:16:16announced his retirement from the League of the 837.
- 1:16:19Gallup played for 9 teams in his career which started with the
- 1:16:22Knicks when he played. Taken 6th overall in the 2 2008
- 1:16:26NBA Draft. The Knicks sent Gallinari to
- 1:16:28Denver in the Carmelo Anthony trade in 2011 where he was a big
- 1:16:32part of a 57 win Nuggets team in 20/12/2020, 2012, 2013, but tore
- 1:16:38his ACL late in that season. He would tear his ACL twice.
- 1:16:42Injuries would be a big part of the second-half of his career.
- 1:16:45He did make it to the conference finals as part of the Hawks and
- 1:16:48once it inch truly lived up to the at least Knicks myself had
- 1:16:53for the second highest draft to the Talian player of all time.
- 1:16:57The Knicks had the top guy to Andrea Bargnani at one point who
- 1:17:00nick most Knicks fans will remember for the hot garbage and
- 1:17:03overpaid. Allo finishes his career with
- 1:17:061456 three pointers, which is 6 most in the NB history for
- 1:17:11someone 6 foot 10 or taller. Happy trails to Gallo, one of
- 1:17:14the many guys we thought were the future on Broadway when
- 1:17:17there was no future for real until the King of New York,
- 1:17:20Jalen Brunson arrived in 2022. And in a surprising news, if you
- 1:17:24know anything about Eagles fans, reports it's ESPN on Monday
- 1:17:27State that Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Pulo had
- 1:17:31someone egg his New Jersey house Saturday night after the Eagles
- 1:17:35second straight loss in the Black Friday game to the Bears
- 1:17:382415. The Eagles offense has been bad
- 1:17:41this season and Pitullo has been in the crosshairs of the fans
- 1:17:44for the defending champions. The Eagles we saw their
- 1:17:47championship winning offensive coordinator Kellen Moore become
- 1:17:49the head coach of the Saints this year despite the struggles
- 1:17:53and the Eagles struggling are struggling offensively being in
- 1:17:56the bottom third in the league and most offensive metrics.
- 1:17:59Head coach Nick Siriani told reporters after the weekend that
- 1:18:02there would be no change in play caller despite the noise from
- 1:18:05the fans and local media calling for Petools head.
- 1:18:08Apparently an 8 and 4 record in first place in the NFC East and
- 1:18:11largely the same roster as a winning title team isn't these
- 1:18:14cheese whizz on beef loving faithful.
- 1:18:16But then again, these are the same people whose forefathers
- 1:18:19through batteries and balls of ice at Santa Claus class in
- 1:18:22Philadelphia. As we are streaming live on

- 1:20:38My sexual fantasies. Say yourself.
- 1:20:43This is not. Ideal, but if it's what means it
- 1:20:45is not ideal, but if it's just not ideal.
- 1:20:47But if it is, what means you can't treble stamp a double?
- 1:20:50Stamp. You can't.
- 1:20:51Treble stamp a double stamp. Lord, you can't dribble stamp a
- 1:20:53double. Stamp Lord.
- 1:20:55You guys, now it's time for save your tears.
- 1:21:03All right guys, welcome to another edition of Save Your
- 1:21:07Tears. This is the daily, I guess
- 1:21:11weekly for the NFL Fantasy contest where you get $15.00 to
- 1:21:14your salary cap. The winner of the contest gets
- 1:21:18at least 51% long winded compliments from all of the
- 1:21:24losers on on Monday. We are week 14.
- 1:21:27I'm going to give you the board, tell you the teams and the
- 1:21:30matchups. Here we are.
- 1:21:33Let me give you the squads. We got the Bengals facing off
- 1:21:36against the Bills. We pick the Colts and the Jags
- 1:21:39in the game that surprisingly has really interesting playoff
- 1:21:42impact and the Bears and the Packers, which everyone knew was
- 1:21:46going to be a great game. So some real interesting ones to
- 1:21:48pick from here. I'm going to read it off to you
- 1:21:51if you're not watching on video at home, you can if you go
- 1:21:55either watching us live on YouTube or any of the places
- 1:21:58that are streaming on TikTok and Instagram that we talk about on
- 1:22:02the break. If you are following us the next
- 1:22:04day, we also are on video on Apple podcast and Spotify as
- 1:22:09well. So here it is, the $5 player at
- 1:22:11quarterback, Josh Allen followed by Jordan love #3 dollars.
- 1:22:16Guess who's back? It's Joe Burrow, Shady's back
- 1:22:19with that hairstyle. I guess he doesn't have it
- 1:22:21blonde the same way anymore. Trevor Lawrence 2 bucks and
- 1:22:25Daniel Jones on 1 1/2 legs for a dollar.
- 1:22:30Jonathan Taylor has two real good legs.
- 1:22:32He's been running well, a couple of tough ones last couple weeks.
- 1:22:35He's still a $5 running back followed by James Cook for
- 1:22:37$4.00. Travis Etienne junior at 3, Josh
- 1:22:40Jacobs for two and DeAndre Swift may be a very nice value at a
- 1:22:44dollar I couldn't find a way to place in my non guy in our list.
- 1:22:49Jamar Chase is going to be the $5 wide receiver one, followed
- 1:22:52by Alec Pierce who has really great breakout numbers.
- 1:22:57We're going to be talking about him at the end of the season for
- 1:22:59some kind of maybe most improved award possibly.
- 1:23:02Khalil Shakur is the three dollar player, DJ Moore at $2.00
- 1:23:06and Parker Washington or Buck at the other $5 player.
- 1:23:10It's kind of tough this week. Roma Dunsday has had some tough
- 1:23:13ones, but technically he has. I looked it up, of all the other
- 1:23:16players, he has the most yards on that list.
- 1:23:19So he is the $5 player for wide receiver 2, followed by Michael
- 1:23:22Pittman junior, Romeo Dobbs, Brian Thomas junior on the
- 1:23:26struggle bus this season and Dantavian Wicks had two
- 1:23:30touchdowns last week filling in there at a dollar and at tight
- 1:23:34end, we got the two rookies at the top.
- 1:23:36We got Tyler Warren for 5 bucks, followed by Colston Loveland, a
- 1:23:39returning Brenton Strange, Mike Kasicki, and for a dollar, Luke
- 1:23:45Musgrave. All right, so here we are.
- 1:23:49Let's get into it. Who was the winner last week?
- 1:23:52Jared? All right.
- 1:23:55So Jared, you're going to give us the order for tonight.
- 1:24:02Let's start with Speedy. OK, so I'm definitely taking
- 1:24:06Burrow and Chase. That is a given.
- 1:24:10I'm trying to figure out which combination of running back
- 1:24:12stuff I want. Let's see.
- 1:24:15I mean, Brian Thomas, I like that dark throw of a value with
- 1:24:18sauce. Probably out for two.
- 1:24:21So that gives me 10. I'm going to say, yeah, I don't
- 1:24:30have room for Warren at all. Give me Jacobs and Strange.
- 1:24:34All right, we're going with Josh Jacobs and Brent and Strange.
- 1:24:40All right, Yeah. So I got you at Burrow.
- 1:24:42Jacobs Chick Junior and Brandon Strange.
- 1:24:46Who's up next? Jared.
- 1:24:49Let's go Tommy. Tommy Hoops.
- 1:24:51All right, so I feel like I made a mistake not starting Burrow in
- 1:24:57fantasy last week. So we're going to draft Burrow
- 1:25:00here with $3. James Cook's been pretty
- 1:25:03consistent, so we're going to go Burrow Cook.
- 1:25:06Chase then leaves me with like, I think $3.00.
- 1:25:10So I'm going to go Brian Thomas Junior and then for a dollar,
- 1:25:14Luke Musgrave. That was the other combo I was
- 1:25:16thinking. I almost did that one too all.
- 1:25:19Right, so I stole it from. You all right?
- 1:25:20Well, you're right that Tommy for Burrow, Cook, Chase, Brian
- 1:25:24Thomas Junior and Luke Musgrave, who's up next.
- 1:25:28All right, I'm going to go. I'll go.
- 1:25:33I'll go. Danny Dimes, Josh Jacobs, Jamar
- 1:25:37Chase, Brian Thomas, Junior and Tyler Warren.
- 1:25:43All right. I definitely didn't get all of
- 1:25:46that. So I got Brian Thomas Junior, I
- 1:25:48got Tyler Warren, I got Danny Dimes.
- 1:25:51I think I heard Chase. Chase and Jacobs.
- 1:25:56And Josh Jacobs. All right, there we go.
- 1:26:00Who you got going next? Let's go, Jabba.
- 1:26:04Jabba. I'm going to go Burrow, then I'm
- 1:26:09going to go Swifty, then I'm gonna go Khalil Shakur, then I'm
- 1:26:21gonna go, I'm gonna go Colston Loveland.
- 1:26:28So that's it. I'm at 12, right?
- 1:26:30711 you actually have 11 right now.
- 1:26:33Oh yeah, And then give me, give me Pitman.
- 1:26:37So you got Pitman. All right, so I got you at
- 1:26:41Burrow, Swift, Shakur, Pittman and Loveland.
- 1:26:47Listen, I'm not going to ask you this one.
- 1:26:50I'm going to tell you. I know Errol wants to go last,
- 1:26:53so I will go next. I am going to dare to be
- 1:26:59different, dare to be great. I'm going to take the guy who I
- 1:27:03don't think is going to be happy to just let Joe Burrow walk in
- 1:27:06there, win Josh Allen against one of the worst defenses God
- 1:27:10has ever put on a football field.
- 1:27:12I'm going to also go with Brenton Strange, who looked
- 1:27:15awesome when I saw him the other day.
- 1:27:18So I think that's a nice value there.
- 1:27:21I really Packers run defence. I'm going to go with Swift I
- 1:27:31think at running back. I think that's just too good of
- 1:27:33a value to pass up, although I am worried about the Monongai
- 1:27:36vulture status there. How much do I have now?
- 1:27:39I got 69, I got 6 left for the 2 receiver positions.
- 1:27:45Do I go with everybody? I think I'm going to go yeah, I
- 1:27:52think this lets me go different. I'm going to go chase also, but
- 1:27:56I'm going to. That leaves me a buck for Wicks.
- 1:28:00Did have two touchdowns last week.
- 1:28:02Oh, Lith. Mania.
- 1:28:04I got Josh Allen, I got Josh Jacobs, clear Shakur Romeo
- 1:28:09Dobbs, and then I got Mike is S you know.
- 1:28:12No, no, sorry, Colson Loveland, you don't have enough.
- 1:28:19You don't have enough. We're insane stream.
- 1:28:28Saves a dollar again there. You go the.
- 1:28:30Streak continues, finds finds a way to pocket some change.
- 1:28:34I got Alan Jacobs, Shakur Dobbs and Musgrave for the least one.
- 1:28:41All right. Last but not least, our remarks.
- 1:28:45All right, let's go. Daniel Jones just playing who
- 1:28:47this week? Jacksonville.
- 1:28:49I'm going Daniel Jones, James Cook.
- 1:28:51Who is he playing Bengals? I'm going to go James Cook.
- 1:28:58I'm gonna go Jamar Chase. How many do I have?
- 1:29:00That is 10 right now that you've used so far.
- 1:29:02I'm gonna go. All right?
- 1:29:04I'm gonna go Michael Pittman, and then I'm gonna go.
- 1:29:07My pinky is bigger than yours. As we all know, yes.
- 1:29:11All right, guys that save your tears.
- 1:29:12If you tune in on Monday, you will get the results for week 14
- 1:29:17and a compliment chorus where no one's allowed to cry about it.
- 1:29:20You got to save your tears. Fishers Play of the Week This is
- 1:29:24great about sports you. Play to win the game.
- 1:29:27Hello, you play to win the game. Fishes play of the wing.
- 1:29:35OK, welcome back to Fishes Play of the Week.
- 1:29:38So this one won the game in an upset when this is a real
- 1:29:44consequential play. If the Carolina Panthers end up
- 1:29:48making it to the playoffs, it's because of what happened here
- 1:29:51against the Los Angeles Rams. So again, they get over 500.
- 1:29:56Now this is the play Bryce Young gets back.
- 1:29:59They're down four on 4th and two, 6 minutes left in the 4th.
- 1:30:03And there's the first round put pick, rookie Teddaroa McMillan,
- 1:30:08seemingly a pretty easy touchdown.
- 1:30:11Why is it so easy? Well, that's why it's the play
- 1:30:13of the week. Let's take a look at exactly
- 1:30:15what happened. They're going to show you a
- 1:30:17behind the center view in a second on this clip right here.
- 1:30:20And it's like if I was trying to play a basketball play as a
- 1:30:26football coach, this is exactly what I would draw.
- 1:30:29Errol, if I asked you like to do set a screen in basketball and
- 1:30:33cut to the hoop. You would go, oh, that's a
- 1:30:34normal play. Well, look at the top of the
- 1:30:37screen about 20 yards deep. What's going to happen with
- 1:30:40these two receivers here? This is literally a pick play,
- 1:30:44but it's 20 yards downfield, so it's never going to be called.
- 1:30:47The idea behind this, they're going to send a crosser bringing
- 1:30:51this linebacker out of the picture because they want to
- 1:30:53throw it to the right. So bring him over to the left.
- 1:30:55That's the first thing this play does.
- 1:30:57By the way, Canales is pretty excellent.
- 1:30:59So there's the first guy, 40 eights going to run with 0
- 1:31:02taking him out of the play. So now you have the two
- 1:31:04receivers behind them and not enough defenders to pick.
- 1:31:08They had a 1 high safety. Look, one of the safety is going
- 1:31:11to go one way and it's going to be double covered.
- 1:31:13The other way it's going to be single covered.
- 1:31:15They decided to single cover Teterola McMillan.
- 1:31:19Take a look at how open he gets. He just has to throw it over his
- 1:31:22head. They get the win.
- 1:31:24They are back in playoff contention.
- 1:31:26That's why that play is vicious. Play the way.
- 1:31:30I will say this at McMillan is is sensational to watch.
- 1:31:33He really is fun to watch and I didn't think it was going his
- 1:31:38his. The game that he played in
- 1:31:40college was going to transfer as fast over to the NFL.
- 1:31:44Because he's the odds favorite to win rig of the year, right?
- 1:31:48He's won. Probably Buca has been
- 1:31:50unbelievable and Buca was. He's been with the Tampa Bay
- 1:31:53Buccaneers with all the. He fell off, you know, like his
- 1:31:56stats in the last bunch of weeks are down.
- 1:31:58I know odds are really close right now.
- 1:32:02Hold on, I'll bring it up in a second.
- 1:32:04So Jabba, there were some, there were some other metrics that
- 1:32:07actually McMillan and IGBUCA were both very even on
- 1:32:10throughout the season. IGBUCA just had more big plays
- 1:32:12in the touchdowns for a while. But now since like Fish was
- 1:32:15saying, like they kind of have leveled out where it that race
- 1:32:18is going to actually be pretty close.
- 1:32:19Tyler Warren was the other one that's kind of fallen off in
- 1:32:21recent weeks too. So he might be a distant third
- 1:32:24at this point. So you're not, you're going to
- 1:32:26be surprised and I think it's kind of ridiculous.
- 1:32:28But the census according that I'm looking at is no Mcmillan's
- 1:32:32number one, they're having that plus 1:30 between plus 110 and
- 1:32:37plus 1:30 depending on where you get your odds.
- 1:32:39The Buka is anywhere between plus 2:30 and plus 290.
- 1:32:43Behind him is Jackson Dart. I don't agree with that, but
- 1:32:46they have him like at +300 and then it's Tyler Warren, Trayvon
- 1:32:50Henderson, Judkins and then Gentie at plus 10,000.
- 1:32:55What a surprise I. Think Judge could should be
- 1:32:56higher than Henderson? I think they're going to give it
- 1:32:58to McMillan because he was the top wide receiver in the class.
- 1:33:02But I I think Imbuka has been the best one because I'll tell
- 1:33:05you why Mike Evans went down early.
- 1:33:07They can't get consistency from Godwin.
- 1:33:10He can't stay on the field. And this guy went from #3 on the
- 1:33:15depth charts to #1 and as a rookie, to put pressured like
- 1:33:19that to be the number one target for Baker Mayfield and be one of
- 1:33:23the early favorites. The way he has been all season
- 1:33:27long as rookie of the year says a lot about him.
- 1:33:28He's been sensational. He's been fun to watch.
- 1:33:30McMillan coming out of the draft, everybody expected this
- 1:33:32kid to be great. And, and Bryce Young, you could
- 1:33:35see he's played differently now that he has a number one target.
- 1:33:38You can see that Canales can run his offense through like he did
- 1:33:41with Baker Mayfield because he had Mike Evans there and he had
- 1:33:44Godwin. I could see, you could see why I
- 1:33:46think Canales, this is one of the best offensive, one of the
- 1:33:49best young offensive minds the NFL has and why I think Carolina
- 1:33:53is a borderline playoff team. They're not making the playoffs.
- 1:33:55I don't care what anybody. There's still a lot of defensive
- 1:33:58players away, but their offense is making enough strive.
- 1:34:00They have a lot of money next year where they're going to be
- 1:34:02thought of as a rising. I just don't think Bryce Young's
- 1:34:05the guy still. I think if they get a competent
- 1:34:07quarterback that can, you know, can do everything and be more
- 1:34:10consistent. I, I think this team is a
- 1:34:12playoff team and they got a running, they found a running
- 1:34:14back. Thank you to the Cowboys for
- 1:34:16making up this day. And it wasn't It wasn't for his
- 1:34:18revenge game. The Cowboys might be leading the
- 1:34:20division of the. I mean, that's just another
- 1:34:22Jerry Jones debacle. I mean, think about it.
- 1:34:24This guy was what on the he was the 3rd running back as the
- 1:34:27depth chart guy and and this guy is one of the best running backs
- 1:34:30in the league and. I mentioned it, what we what I
- 1:34:32used it for with my side of the week too.
- 1:34:34Like he was like the second worst, like like least efficient
- 1:34:38running back at the time and then all of a sudden he plays.
- 1:34:40I went well against the Cowboys and all of a starts go.
- 1:34:42He's running wild since. Then he's been unbelievable and
- 1:34:45and Canalis likes to run first, throw second.
- 1:34:47That's what the Buccaneers like to do, that's what bowls like to
- 1:34:50do. And you can see the difference
- 1:34:52in and what he brought to. And I remember the the Panthers
- 1:34:56had a competing coach there and he only lasted one year.
- 1:35:00This is a guy that was a great offensive coordinator, had one
- 1:35:03good successful year with Indianapolis and then fell off
- 1:35:05the next year. So I, I, I guess we all know
- 1:35:09what happened. Anyways, let's move on as
- 1:35:12Speedy's 6 pack of the week. Let's have a sixer.
- 1:35:17Hey, who wants to play Drink the Beer?
- 1:35:19It's time for the Speedy 6 pack of the week.
- 1:35:24Start with tomorrow's Dallas Cowboy.
- 1:35:26Blowjob. Game against the Detroit Lions.
- 1:35:28The Lions are three-point favorites at home.
- 1:35:31Suck my indo big. Game for wild card implications
- 1:35:34in the NFC. I'm gonna take Detroit in this
- 1:35:36spot. Both of them are coming off.
- 1:35:37Long weeks, obviously, both playing on Thanksgiving.
- 1:35:40Dallas's defense? I don't.
- 1:35:41Know some of my ass. Offense this good as well as the
- 1:35:44Lions have done, so I'm gonna take Detroit here in this.
- 1:35:46Spot. So there's a whole story like
- 1:35:49Frank Rag now is gonna come out of retirement and then he had
- 1:35:53like a grade three born hamstring and they're like,
- 1:35:56yeah, you're probably going to be on a shelf for six months.
- 1:35:58You try to come out of retirement.
- 1:36:00So maybe fix that. We'll talk about it next year.
- 1:36:02They have a little bit of a trouble.
- 1:36:04If there's anything that they're struggling with, it's kind of
- 1:36:07some interior pass protection. Their tackles obviously are
- 1:36:10fantastic. They're they're very good, but
- 1:36:14they've had a little bit of issues and golf isn't exactly
- 1:36:16the guy that's going to be running for, you know, for first
- 1:36:18downs all the time. You know, you don't want him to
- 1:36:21have to do that. So they there's a couple of
- 1:36:22chinks in the arm over there and Quinn and Williams is a man on a
- 1:36:26mission since that trade. He looks awesome.
- 1:36:29That defense is rallying. They're better.
- 1:36:32The safeties, they got Lee Cooker and they got Donovan
- 1:36:36Wilson back. Both of those guys make a big
- 1:36:39difference when you have the safeties in the back end, making
- 1:36:42sure everybody's in the right spots before the play starts and
- 1:36:45knows what the calls are in the adjustments as opposed to some
- 1:36:47guys you got off the street. I think they're going to be a
- 1:36:51lot tougher to beat. Give me Dallas in this game.
- 1:36:54I think they're making their run through the playoffs.
- 1:36:56Arrow, arrow still 15 to one on back.
- 1:36:59We can still make a bet on him. I'm not making no bets, but I
- 1:37:03think the NFL is all about favoritism and for some reason
- 1:37:06Drake May has this love fetish for all the fans and all the
- 1:37:09writers. So I I guess he's the bona fide
- 1:37:13MVP and I think Mikey C is sitting dancing around.
- 1:37:16Of course he is, because they have the third easiest schedule
- 1:37:19in NFL history. So congratulations to him if he
- 1:37:22wins. And that would be my take on it
- 1:37:24if he wins the award. Ted, Baby Davos.
- 1:37:27On the. Lions.
- 1:37:28We got the Lions and the Cowboys right.
- 1:37:30Yep, Thursday Night Football. And you never know what the
- 1:37:32Lions are right now. I'm going to say the Lions
- 1:37:34secondary is horrible. Brown could be.
- 1:37:37It could be out in this game, he might be out for the rest and
- 1:37:41see, I don't know what's going on with him.
- 1:37:43I'm I'm going with the Cowgirls. I'm going with Daki Presk.
- 1:37:48I'm putting up the numbers, baby.
- 1:37:50Give me Dak Prescott and the Cowgirls.
- 1:37:52All right, we'll go to the Steelers at the Ravens.
- 1:37:55The Ravens are 6 point favorites at home.
- 1:37:59I don't like this spread. I think the Steelers will hang
- 1:38:02tough. This is a divisional game.
- 1:38:04Like the Steelers defense has generally played well against
- 1:38:06Lamar Jackson and this secondary cast of supporting cast for the
- 1:38:09Ravens offense has not been as good as they were last year.
- 1:38:12So I do think this is I think the Ravens will win the game,
- 1:38:14but I do think Pittsburgh does cover the spread.
- 1:38:16I think it is close. I mean, I'm assuming Lamar's
- 1:38:20hurt, right? Like he's just not playing
- 1:38:23right. It's something's wrong.
- 1:38:25I think he's probably overcompensating and it's making
- 1:38:27him less accurate and it's really hard to understand why
- 1:38:32he's not playing anywhere near the level that we saw last year
- 1:38:36when, you know, I think Errol, we both agreed that he should
- 1:38:38have been the MVP over Josh Allen last season, 100%.
- 1:38:41It was very, very close. But I, I, I just don't
- 1:38:45understand it, you know, and they, he was ranked.
- 1:38:47He was first team all pro when Josh Allen was second.
- 1:38:50So how is Josh Allen the MVP? Like how well, what, what are
- 1:38:53they, what are we even talking about?
- 1:38:54But certainly not this season. You know, he had the injury
- 1:38:57earlier in the year and he's not playing well.
- 1:39:00I don't trust that Ravens team at all, even against the
- 1:39:03darkness. One himself, Aaron Rodgers with
- 1:39:05one hand. I don't even know if Josh Allen
- 1:39:07has better numbers moving. He has a lot more games left,
- 1:39:10but I think he, if you look at his season last year and look at
- 1:39:13his season this year, they're almost identical.
- 1:39:16So Josh Allen winning an MVP last year the way he did with
- 1:39:20almost identical numbers, numbers from from for this year.
- 1:39:24It doesn't make any sense. So I don't understand how they
- 1:39:28strategically voted on on how Josh Allen won the MVP.
- 1:39:32But I like Josh Allen. I, I love him and he's one of
- 1:39:35the only very few players from another team that I wear his
- 1:39:38number with his name on the back of it.
- 1:39:40So I actually like Josh Allen. So I'm not going to attack him
- 1:39:44at any kind of way because I I think he's a great player and I
- 1:39:47think he's one of the guys that you love not to hate because
- 1:39:52everybody hates him. So what's?
- 1:39:55Up Java, what's the coin say? The coin gots us.
- 1:39:59We're going to the booty. We got tails.
- 1:40:03Aaron, Java's on the Steelers here.
- 1:40:04Errol, did you make a pick for the actual game here?
- 1:40:06You just mentioned Josh Allen. Buffalo and Steelers.
- 1:40:08No, no. It's Ravens.
- 1:40:10Ravens. Ravens.
- 1:40:10Steelers. Ravens in Baltimore.
- 1:40:12Ravens. All right, Ravens.
- 1:40:13And I'll tell you why Steelers never play well in Baltimore.
- 1:40:17Ever so I don't care how bad Lamar Jackson has looked this
- 1:40:22year and I don't have I don't care how bad the defense Lamar
- 1:40:25Jackson and the the Ravens have. Give me the Ravens in this game,
- 1:40:29I might. I might even say a blowout.
- 1:40:31So. They'll go to the one of the
- 1:40:33Savior Tiers games, the Colts at the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
- 1:40:37The Colts on the road are 2 1/2 point favorites.
- 1:40:39And it's one of those weird games because again, I.
- 1:40:42Don't know where to go? Sauce Garner is not playing, but
- 1:40:46the Jaguars offensive line has not been as good in recent weeks
- 1:40:49despite their success. A lot of it's come with Trevor
- 1:40:51Lawrence actually being able to extend plays and get those other
- 1:40:53receivers involved. That being said, Jacksonville's
- 1:40:56defense, I don't know if they keep this up forever.
- 1:40:58Indy's offense will just be this bad forever.
- 1:40:59It will be close, but I think the Colts finally break their
- 1:41:02can't win in Jacksonville drought, which has been over a
- 1:41:04decade. I personally think Jacksonville
- 1:41:08is the biggest fraud team in the league.
- 1:41:10I I don't believe in this team at all.
- 1:41:12I think Trevor Lawrence is completely trick or treat and
- 1:41:16when you throw something at him like a Indianapolis Colts
- 1:41:19defense, which has been pretty good this season.
- 1:41:21It's a trick or treat. You should have said smell his
- 1:41:23feet or something. Well, this is a guy who gets 3
- 1:41:26touchdowns and three interceptions in the game,
- 1:41:27right? You know, like that's, that's
- 1:41:29the definition. It's like the Jameis Winston
- 1:41:313030 season. You know, like it's probably the
- 1:41:34best example of a trick or treat.
- 1:41:35You know, sometimes you give it, sometimes you take it away.
- 1:41:38And I don't trust, I don't trust them at all.
- 1:41:43I, I think they're going to score some points.
- 1:41:45I hope not to it. I'm not going, I can't take
- 1:41:48Jacksonville. Give me the Colts.
- 1:41:50Even if Daniel Jones is completely healthy, I'll get the
- 1:41:53Colts Jabba the coin. We're going tails again all.
- 1:42:01Right, everyone's on the Colts, it looks.
- 1:42:02Like oh slam dunk, Colts not even closing.
- 1:42:05And Taylor. He had a bad week last week.
- 1:42:08Put all your money on Jonathan Taylor this week to put up big
- 1:42:11numbers. So.
- 1:42:13We got to figure out why Brian Thomas Junior is playing this
- 1:42:16way. I have no idea.
- 1:42:18You were so high on him at the. Beginning of the year arrow
- 1:42:20like. Everyone.
- 1:42:21You loved him. I love him still.
- 1:42:23Since his first round pick and fantasy.
- 1:42:25I still love him, you know. Still love him?
- 1:42:27All right, Save your tears game #2 the Cincinnati Bengals at the
- 1:42:31Buffalo Bills. The Bills are 5 1/2 point
- 1:42:34favorites, 55 and a half point favorites at home in this one.
- 1:42:38I do think with Burrow back, you definitely saw a definitely
- 1:42:41different level with that Bengals offense.
- 1:42:43And this was the Ravens defense. Yeah, they've been bad much of
- 1:42:45the year, but they were actually playing better at the time.
- 1:42:47And Buffalo's defense, I think he's still trying to find their
- 1:42:49way in certain areas. So I do think Cincinnati does
- 1:42:53cover this spread. I think the Bills win this game
- 1:42:54in a high close shootout. Yeah, so I went with the Bills
- 1:43:01and save your tears. Whatever the over is, it's not
- 1:43:05going to be high enough. You got to take the over in this
- 1:43:08game. These are two guys, two teams
- 1:43:11that can't stop anything. It's like Swiss cheese versus
- 1:43:14itself. It's so bad.
- 1:43:17They just all like as soon as Ed Oliver went down on the Bills
- 1:43:21defensive line, it just wasn't the same.
- 1:43:24And when I just, I don't understand how the Bengals have
- 1:43:28even gotten by without Joe Burrow.
- 1:43:31I guess Zach Taylor is going to keep his job because that was
- 1:43:34really, it was looking real grim there.
- 1:43:37But if they can somehow beat the Bills here, which I think would
- 1:43:41be very crazy even with Burrow, I just don't think the defense
- 1:43:46can stop Josh Allen. Josh Allen.
- 1:43:48It's this is going to be Josh Allen showing it up against Joe
- 1:43:51Burrow. This is prime time.
- 1:43:53It's going to be paymaker after paymaker.
- 1:43:56I think you're going to see crazy stat lines from the two of
- 1:44:00them, but give me the Bills. I like the Bills.
- 1:44:03I like Josh Allen. I think they're a winner.
- 1:44:06I think they're winners. I think the Bengals are freaking
- 1:44:08losers and their defense is going to lose the form.
- 1:44:13And losers, huh? Fish Wow.
- 1:44:16I mean, think about what they did with that defense this year.
- 1:44:19And I got the head. I was on the bills as well,
- 1:44:21covering the five and a. Half I'm going to go, you know
- 1:44:26what I'm going to take a chance on this.
- 1:44:29I'm going to go Bengals. I think the Bengals win this
- 1:44:30game. I the bills have not impressed
- 1:44:33me over the last couple of weeks and I I think Joe Burrow is the
- 1:44:37the game changer. So give me Joe Burrow.
- 1:44:39And the Bengals all right, and I think this might be the first
- 1:44:41time ever the same 3. And Xavier Tears also made my 6
- 1:44:45pack as well, the green Chicago Bears at the Green Bay Packers.
- 1:44:49The Packers are 6 1/2 point favorites at home.
- 1:44:51I did not take the spread for the Ravens against the Steelers.
- 1:44:54I actually will hear. I think Chicago's been, they've
- 1:44:57been winning a lot, but they've been winning kind of.
- 1:45:00Close a lot like. We've been saying with the
- 1:45:01Broncos too, kind of struggling against teams, they should be
- 1:45:04playing better against a Green Bay I think got a little bit of
- 1:45:07a spark. We've seen Jordan love what he's
- 1:45:08done at the end of the season and Josh Jacobs getting healthy
- 1:45:11now too. This defense definitely looking
- 1:45:14better as well with the Packers. I think Green Bay does win this
- 1:45:16game and I do think they cover the 6 1/2.
- 1:45:21Yeah, so I don't know about the Bears.
- 1:45:25I'm not 100% convinced. I love Ben Johnson.
- 1:45:28I love that he ripped his shirt off after that win.
- 1:45:31You know, they're they're the number one seed right now.
- 1:45:35If the season ended today in the NFC is pretty crazy.
- 1:45:38Now you have a first year coach on both sides technically.
- 1:45:41I mean Brabel's obviously coached before, but first year
- 1:45:44guys in the one seed this late into the season, only four weeks
- 1:45:47left, five weeks left in the season.
- 1:45:50So so this is. 6 1/2 points spread, yeah. 6 1/2, that's a
- 1:45:57lot of points. I think a lot.
- 1:45:59I think there's a lot of people wise to the Packers probably
- 1:46:01going to win this game. But can they cover by a
- 1:46:03touchdown? And that's interesting.
- 1:46:06I don't know. I think there's going to be a
- 1:46:08lot of catch up. But Michael Parsons is having
- 1:46:11quite a season. You know, you can say what you
- 1:46:13will get. 2 1/2 sacks last week and he's having sacks at the end
- 1:46:18of the game to win the game. He's having impactful place.
- 1:46:22He's not these like you know who was it?
- 1:46:26Thibodeau had like 5 sacks that first year against like nobodies
- 1:46:30the last. Three of them against
- 1:46:32Washington, I think the other one was against the Raiders or.
- 1:46:34Something like that against like a fifth string tackle off the
- 1:46:37back, off like the street. You know, it's, it's it's real
- 1:46:41impact. And they have him rated this
- 1:46:43year as the top defensive edge rusher in the NFL on PFL.
- 1:46:49He's that good. That's what they're saying.
- 1:46:51I mean, I'm sorry, second behind Miles Garrett.
- 1:46:54Yeah. So it's like that because Miles
- 1:46:56Garrett having this this season from, you know, he's going to
- 1:46:58break the all time sack record this.
- 1:47:01But but you know, if he wasn't in the league, this guy would be
- 1:47:04defensive player of the year. It's pretty clear he's awesome
- 1:47:07and he's taken that defense to another level as they've gotten
- 1:47:11used to playing with each other and using him as the weapon that
- 1:47:14he is. That's the thing, like you got
- 1:47:16to learn your players as a defensive coach, like what
- 1:47:19they're good at, what types of blitzes they're good at.
- 1:47:21You don't really know like what makes them good at the blitzes?
- 1:47:25You know, is it timing? Is it is it like he's great at
- 1:47:28reading the cadence? Is it that you know, he's good
- 1:47:31at tape study and he knows like a guy will turn his shoulders?
- 1:47:34You never know. So I I think that the more that
- 1:47:37you work with guys, the more you understand each other.
- 1:47:40And I think you're starting to see Michael Parsons get to that
- 1:47:42level that we all saw him give me the Packers.
- 1:47:45I got hang. I'm going to take the Packers.
- 1:47:49And we got. Java is on the bears covering
- 1:47:58the thread. I've got the Bears, the Bears, I
- 1:48:02got the Bears. I think the Bears have proven
- 1:48:05enough to me that they're that you could argue that the best
- 1:48:07team in the NFC, but I'm going to say I would argue the Rams
- 1:48:12are the best team. They had a bad week last week,
- 1:48:14but I, the Rams and the Bears have been proofing and I know
- 1:48:17what's going on with the Eagles. My Eagles, I, I, I have no idea
- 1:48:20what's going on with them mentally.
- 1:48:21They got to figure it out and they better do it quick and
- 1:48:23start handing the ball to Saquon Barkley and figure out what
- 1:48:26they're not doing offensively. They look absolutely terrible.
- 1:48:29So I'm going to go with the. Bench all right, looks like our
- 1:48:33friend Wes has arrived with his with his cheese jacket and I
- 1:48:36think he's had a bit of a turn with LSU after celebrating Brian
- 1:48:41Brian Kelly. I mean, we're making picks,
- 1:48:45right? The game is Green Bay and the
- 1:48:46Bears, so I don't know that you want me to go down the LSU
- 1:48:50rabbit hole, but I figured. It'd be fun.
- 1:48:54Yeah, I, I mean, I will, but I'd like to pick that game and just
- 1:48:57jump into this, you know, 6 points is a lot for a division
- 1:49:02opponent. And, and I, I think that the
- 1:49:05Bears are finally a respectable opponent for, for Green Bay.
- 1:49:09And I, I think the Bears have, they have as good of a shot at
- 1:49:13winning the game outright as they've had in, in years.
- 1:49:17Their defense is opportunistic. Statistically, they're not a
- 1:49:20great defense in terms of what they allow, but but they they
- 1:49:24somehow take the ball away every game and and their offense shows
- 1:49:27up. They better figure out a way to
- 1:49:30stop Michael Parsons. But you've taken 6 1/2 points.
- 1:49:34Yeah, that's a good play. Take the Bears all.
- 1:49:37Right. We'll recap some of the other
- 1:49:38ones we went over before we get to our last one, which is your
- 1:49:41Kansas City Chiefs. Wes, we had the first one we had
- 1:49:43was Dallas at Detroit. Detroit, 3 point favorites at
- 1:49:46home. What do you got for that one?
- 1:49:48Yeah, I'm on Dallas there. I think Dallas is way more
- 1:49:51functional of a franchise than everybody predicted going into
- 1:49:54the season. I think this coach is better
- 1:49:56than than what shows. I don't know how much flowers
- 1:50:00Dallas deserves for beating Philadelphia.
- 1:50:02That's a division opponent. Those are always coin flips to
- 1:50:05me. I called that out, right.
- 1:50:07I want to point that out last week.
- 1:50:09I I, I did not need points, but but I think Detroit is a little
- 1:50:13bit broken. I think that Dan Campbell
- 1:50:15calling places is not a good thing.
- 1:50:17And we're finding out what that team actually looks like without
- 1:50:21Ben Johnson. And we're seeing how good he
- 1:50:23actually is by him coaching the Bears, who was a bag of Donuts
- 1:50:26last year. So Dallas walking in there
- 1:50:29getting points, I don't think Detroit can score points with
- 1:50:32Dallas, all right? The next one was the Ravens 6
- 1:50:34point favorites at home versus the Steelers.
- 1:50:37So that's an odd one because I'm going to contradict myself, but
- 1:50:40this is a you. Yeah.
- 1:50:42What's up, buddy? All right, I'll talk quiet.
- 1:50:49I actually like. I actually like the Ravens here.
- 1:50:51I think that the Steelers are highly dysfunctional.
- 1:50:54I don't believe that that Buffalo is as good as what they
- 1:50:58just did to the Steelers last week.
- 1:51:00And I think that Baltimore with a little bit of rest is I think
- 1:51:06that they have the ability to make the Steelers look even more
- 1:51:09foolish. And this, this might put the
- 1:51:11pitchfork in in the Tomlin era all.
- 1:51:13Right, so this one was a clean sweep for all of us.
- 1:51:15We all had the Colts covering -2 1/2 on the road against the
- 1:51:18Jags. No, I think the Colts are the
- 1:51:22Vikings two years ago. I think the Colts are.
- 1:51:26You know, I'm selling all my Colts stock.
- 1:51:29I see them losing at least three to close out the season, and
- 1:51:33Jacksonville is playing really well on defense right now.
- 1:51:35Trevor Lawrence is making a little bit of a difference.
- 1:51:39But no, I like, I like the Jags here for sure.
- 1:51:42Outright. I don't need points.
- 1:51:44All right, the last one we had before we rounded out with the
- 1:51:46Texas and the Chiefs is the Bengals at the Bills.
- 1:51:48The Bills are 5 1/2 point favorites at home.
- 1:51:52Yeah, I also, I got this one at six and and this is a personal
- 1:51:55bet of mine. It's, you know, I bet even units
- 1:51:59all across the board. I don't, you know, load up or
- 1:52:01bet one big, but I really like this one.
- 1:52:04And I'm taking the points of taking Joe Burrow on the road.
- 1:52:07I think the Buffalo is coming off of a false sense of
- 1:52:09security. Big victory against a bad
- 1:52:12Pittsburgh team. And Joe Burrow is one of those
- 1:52:16quarterbacks where he doesn't play defense, but the whole team
- 1:52:19plays better when he's on the field.
- 1:52:21And Cincinnati's going to score points.
- 1:52:24That team will score points. So we might be looking at a
- 1:52:27shootout, but Cincinnati's going to score points.
- 1:52:30And I, I, this game is, is less than five points for sure.
- 1:52:34But I, I, again, I, I like Cincinnati to win this one on
- 1:52:36the road. I like dogs this week and I like
- 1:52:38dogs out right. I farted.
- 1:52:41We'll finish it off. We all didn't pick our that, but
- 1:52:43we'll we'll have you start this one because you're the Chiefs
- 1:52:45guy. Did they finally break their
- 1:52:47skid? They're 3 1/2 point favorites
- 1:52:50against the against the Texans on the road.
- 1:52:53What do you think? No, no.
- 1:52:55I think Houston's going to win this game outright.
- 1:52:57I think that the Chiefs are completely broken.
- 1:53:00I think that right now you're reading in the media, you know,
- 1:53:04Joshua Simmons, he is a rookie. That's never made a difference.
- 1:53:08But the Chiefs are broken. They can't get off the field on
- 1:53:12defense. And you know, their offense has
- 1:53:15had flashes. But I don't have, I'm going to
- 1:53:19be at the game. I have, I'm going to probably
- 1:53:22drink way more than I should to tolerate it.
- 1:53:24I heard booze, loud booze last week in the stadium.
- 1:53:28I've never been a part of Arrowhead where there was so
- 1:53:30much negativity in the air. I'm a spoiled cheese fan because
- 1:53:34I only had one year of Alex Smith before we started winning
- 1:53:37Super Bowls. But I've never been a part of a,
- 1:53:39a just a real like down to earth, regular mainstream
- 1:53:45football experience where you're not just going to win the game.
- 1:53:47So no, I, I, I think Houston's going to come into Arrowhead and
- 1:53:51outright win that game. And I hope I'm.
- 1:53:52About to go back off all. Right, We've had a few weeks
- 1:53:55where I've picked the Chiefs that actually West has gone
- 1:53:56against them. This is not going to be one of
- 1:53:58those weeks. I agree that I actually think
- 1:53:59there's a really bad match up for these tackles.
- 1:54:02Simmons who's not 100% healthy. Then you've got Joan Taylor who
- 1:54:04Fish and I both mentioned is horrible and those two edges
- 1:54:07might be the best edge duo in the league.
- 1:54:09I think the Chiefs pass rush really hasn't done well enough
- 1:54:12to compensate for the offensive line issues and the Texans
- 1:54:17offensive skill players. Those young players are really
- 1:54:19starting to pick it up now, so I'm going to take Houston here
- 1:54:21as well. D'amico Ryan's Errol, we you
- 1:54:28know, we were talking a little bit earlier in the season before
- 1:54:30this revamp, you know, come back by this Texans swaggers, They
- 1:54:35look like they were down and out.
- 1:54:36They couldn't get nothing done first half of the season.
- 1:54:39Look at them now, TJ Stroud, maybe not lighting it up
- 1:54:42statistically, but he is very confident he's playing well.
- 1:54:47They have good receivers. They have Nico Collins.
- 1:54:50They got this rookie Higgins from Iowa State, who's developed
- 1:54:53into a really good rookie receiver, kind of under the
- 1:54:55radar. But I like that team.
- 1:54:58They're running back away, right?
- 1:55:00They didn't get mixing this season.
- 1:55:02They've been piercing together with this kid from USC.
- 1:55:04I like Woody. Marks.
- 1:55:05I like marks. I'm not saying I mean we have
- 1:55:07the same question. I like.
- 1:55:08Him. We encourage you, Woody barks.
- 1:55:10I actually like him. I think he's looked pretty good.
- 1:55:12He's. Been all right, Chub.
- 1:55:14Chub's hard to tackle with one guy, even if he's not the same
- 1:55:17player anymore. So they pieced it together and
- 1:55:19that's a testament to a great leader.
- 1:55:22And I'm pretty sure D'amico Ryan's is one of these rare
- 1:55:26defensive guys that you just don't care that he's a defensive
- 1:55:30guy. You're going to trust that he's
- 1:55:32going to find ways to win games because players are going to
- 1:55:34play the right way. He's a great player and he's a
- 1:55:36great coach. I'm, I, I my rule of thumb with
- 1:55:40the Chiefs and then we have it, what was it, 3 1/2?
- 1:55:42Yep. I don't like to take a Chiefs
- 1:55:46ever favored more than three points.
- 1:55:48I think it always comes down to the referees and a field goal.
- 1:55:53So if you're telling me this game's going to be more than a
- 1:55:55field goal, I'm telling you you're lying.
- 1:55:57I'm taking the points and I think Houston's probably got a
- 1:56:00really good chance to win it out right.
- 1:56:02It's kind of swayed a little bit this year.
- 1:56:04It hasn't been as bad as the been in previous.
- 1:56:06Years, yeah, but the backs are up against the wall.
- 1:56:09They lose this one. They're not making the playoffs,
- 1:56:13but I don't know, like I, I think it's going to come down to
- 1:56:15a last second field goal just like it always does for these
- 1:56:18guys. What's the, what's the coin say?
- 1:56:20It's going to happen. Well, let's let's see if it
- 1:56:23agrees and it's got tails. Just kidding, it's ads.
- 1:56:28All right. Jabba's giving W some blind
- 1:56:32blind face. Say that again.
- 1:56:36Jobless court is giving you some blind, blind hope that the
- 1:56:39Chiefs can pull out. I hope they can.
- 1:56:42And you know, you're right about the IT always seems to come down
- 1:56:47to the refs in a field goal that the refs are not on their side
- 1:56:51this year. I mean, they that that is very
- 1:56:53clear. It almost seems like they're out
- 1:56:55to prove that we do not support the Kansas City Chiefs and we
- 1:56:59are not on their payroll. I mean, that's how it feels this
- 1:57:01year. Taylor, Taylor.
- 1:57:03Has to I think. That's the problem.
- 1:57:07Well, she she shunned the league with the with the alleged turn
- 1:57:11down of Super Bowl halftime, and I wonder if there's some bad
- 1:57:14juju in the air for that. Maybe, who knows, but I I'm
- 1:57:19going Kansas City, KS City wins this game.
- 1:57:21I think it's an outright I wouldn't be surprised if Patrick
- 1:57:23the Holmes puts up a 400 spot against a great defense, the
- 1:57:27best defense in the league. I have a feeling Patrick Mahomes
- 1:57:31has one of these games where you're just like, wow, like
- 1:57:34where has this been all season long?
- 1:57:36So Gimme Kansas City. I think they went out right.
- 1:57:41All right, that's. All we got, I'm not saying
- 1:57:44Texas, the Texans haven't been unbelievable and Stingley has
- 1:57:47been incredible. I mean, but besides what Miles
- 1:57:51Garrett's doing and and Anderson's been really good too.
- 1:57:54Will Anderson's really transition into a special place.
- 1:57:58He's a great. Deal.
- 1:58:01He's so great, man. It's so fun to watch and
- 1:58:03everybody was like questioning him coming from Alabama, coming
- 1:58:06from Nick Saban, he's just fun to watch.
- 1:58:09It's been move, getting inside, going on the outside.
- 1:58:12He's just fun to watch and you could see the development of
- 1:58:16what he has been over the last two years.
- 1:58:18He's a completely different player and it has a lot to do
- 1:58:21with coaching. And yes, I would agree with you,
- 1:58:23Fish. I did attack the coaching over
- 1:58:26there with the Texans and I thought maybe maybe this could
- 1:58:28be an early exit for, you know, the Texans and the coaching
- 1:58:34staff. But I'm going to take back.
- 1:58:36I mean, there's they're they're playing hard for the coach.
- 1:58:39And if you're seeing the team play hard for the coach, he's
- 1:58:42got something so. There was an early exit.
- 1:58:44For the same thing with Aaron Glenn, everybody says so all the
- 1:58:47Jet fans were pushing him out or automatically.
- 1:58:50And look, they traded 2 of their best players and they're
- 1:58:53winning, OK, That tells you that they're playing hard for their
- 1:58:56coach. It means they believe in him.
- 1:58:58And if you believe in your coach, you have something.
- 1:59:02So D'amico Ryan's obviously has the team and the team's
- 1:59:07following his lead and and you could see it by what they're
- 1:59:09doing over the last couple of weeks.
- 1:59:11If D'amico Ryan's ever became available, Fish would donate
- 1:59:13some of his life savings for us. You've.
- 1:59:15Been speaking a lot tonight and cutting in.
- 1:59:17I'm very impressed. I mean, you've been like in your
- 1:59:21own little shell or cocoon or turtle dove or whatever the
- 1:59:24hell, your little turtle shell between your legs and hopefully
- 1:59:27you're shaving over there soon. So let's go, let's move it.
- 1:59:31We call this Let's parlay. Parlay.
- 1:59:41It's time for Let's parlay. All right, ladies, gentlemen, we
- 1:59:46have Wesley Worldwide West in the feed.
- 1:59:51You know, we call him Black Hawk West.
- 1:59:52We can call him The Dirty Western or we can call him the
- 1:59:58Bears W because believe it or not, he grew up in Chicago and
- 2:00:01he's really a Bears fan. But he has lived in Kansas City
- 2:00:05all this time, so he roots on. Well, I guess we could say he's
- 2:00:08a front runner right now because he's a Kansas City G's fan as
- 2:00:11well. Or not in the place.
- 2:00:12I guess I could say I'm a front runner too because I'm a Jet fan
- 2:00:16rooting for the Eagles all the time.
- 2:00:17So I guess I'm a front runner too, West.
- 2:00:20So we got something in common there and.
- 2:00:22But. The the jerseys don't match
- 2:00:25anyways. Wes, you have 4 picks.
- 2:00:27I do, I do. Let's let's start with college.
- 2:00:30Let's start with Friday night. We're going to start with.
- 2:00:33The. American Athletic.
- 2:00:36I am on North Texas. This one started at 3 1/2.
- 2:00:41There's some big money put on Tulane.
- 2:00:44It's been very public the departure of the head coach,
- 2:00:47although he's going to stick around and coach them in this
- 2:00:49game with or without that news. I think if for you know those of
- 2:00:54you that don't watch college football or maybe you do you
- 2:00:57just don't pay attention to the American Athletic teams get to
- 2:01:00know the name Drew Westmaker. This is a quarterback that's
- 2:01:04probably probably going to transfer to a bigger school is a
- 2:01:094000 yard passer. He's leading the number one
- 2:01:12scoring offense in the entire country.
- 2:01:14But this is one of those quarterbacks that next year, as
- 2:01:18we we get closer to the season, he's he's going to make his way
- 2:01:22onto some of those Heisman big board type lists.
- 2:01:27He's a he's a freshman this year.
- 2:01:28I don't I'm not sure if he's a true freshman or a red shirt to
- 2:01:31wear his draft eligibility. But but in any case, this is a
- 2:01:3429 touchdown, 4 interception quarterback for North Texas.
- 2:01:38I don't think Tulane can score points with them.
- 2:01:40So I'm happy to lay 2 1/2, which is basically a field goal.
- 2:01:44Tulane's got the better defense, but I'm I'm on North Texas in
- 2:01:48this one. And then it gets real
- 2:01:50interesting because because you know, as a fan, I'm going to
- 2:01:53cheer for Duke. This is not a pic, but I'm going
- 2:01:55to cheer for Duke because then the ACC is out of it.
- 2:01:58And then I think we see chaos. Then I think we see the North
- 2:02:01Carolina Clemson to the SEC talks start to get really real
- 2:02:05and Florida State to the Big 10 and all of that.
- 2:02:08So, but in any case, late 2 1/2 University of North Texas
- 2:02:12winning the American Championship mean.
- 2:02:16Green versus Green Wave. Was that your number 2 or #1
- 2:02:20that was. One, no, that that's, that's
- 2:02:22just that that's number one pick.
- 2:02:23I was just long winded with it. This one, I have gone back and
- 2:02:28forth on this one and and you know what I am, I'm going to go
- 2:02:34right back where I started and this is what I picked earlier in
- 2:02:36the season and I'm going to I'm calling for the sweep.
- 2:02:38I'm taking Alabama outright, not laying any points.
- 2:02:41Bama's going to beat Georgia for the second time this year.
- 2:02:44Bama's got the better quarterback.
- 2:02:45The defenses are almost the same, but I like Bama's past
- 2:02:50defense a little bit better. And I think that when they jump
- 2:02:53ahead, Georgia's going to have to make some mistakes.
- 2:02:56I don't believe in Gunner Stockton.
- 2:02:57I think, I think that he's he's the right quarterback for the
- 2:03:00schedule that they played. Can you say Roll Tide?
- 2:03:08What does that say right there today?
- 2:03:11That's right. So I'm, I'm taking I'm taking
- 2:03:14Bama and I'm going to take the points, which at this point is 2
- 2:03:171/2. Hang on.
- 2:03:19He he wants he wants to join. What's up, buddy?
- 2:03:24Say hi. So yeah, roll time then we're
- 2:03:32going to go let's go to the NFLI mean I I call it was one of the
- 2:03:37plays on your Oh, dude, let's not do that if.
- 2:03:40I drew an asterisk on. Himself.
- 2:03:43Yeah, that's been his thing. He likes to put tiger stripes on
- 2:03:46his face. I I brought him back a Shaker
- 2:03:48from Clemson, and so he wants to be a Tiger and I can't get him
- 2:03:53to tell me if he'd like to be a Mizzou Tiger or a Clemson Tiger.
- 2:03:59So NFL I, I'm going to the Bengals.
- 2:04:03That's, that's my other pick. I got it at +6.
- 2:04:07That pick caused me to up my unit by 20% for the entire week
- 2:04:12because I wanted to have more money on that game.
- 2:04:14But I won't just do that on one game.
- 2:04:16It's, it's, it's the entire slate of games that that I up
- 2:04:20everything on. So I like Cincinnati, possibly
- 2:04:23outright, but I definitely like receiving points in that
- 2:04:26situation. And let's go back to college.
- 2:04:31This is sacrilegious, but I'm going to lay the 4 1/2 on Ohio
- 2:04:33State. And I'm going to try and not be
- 2:04:37a fanboy here. But when you watch them, I mean,
- 2:04:41and a lot was made today on the different media outlets with
- 2:04:44Ohio State, how they've ran the fewest.
- 2:04:48They've played two less games than than most of the rest of
- 2:04:52the country because of how little plays they're running.
- 2:04:55They have fresh legs Ryan Day is putting on a master class at at
- 2:04:59coaching just how to bring along a quarterback the way that he
- 2:05:02started with with Jules earlier getting sex.
- 2:05:05He hasn't asked him to win any games.
- 2:05:07He he's saving Jeremiah Smith getting Innis and and tape
- 2:05:12receptions at the right time. That defense does not allow
- 2:05:15points and every time I watch them, they have no desire to
- 2:05:18score more than 35 points. They're not shutting it down.
- 2:05:22They're just accidentally crushing you.
- 2:05:25They, they just, they're not playing with their food.
- 2:05:29They just look like there's more there.
- 2:05:31And Ryan has been thinking about the playoffs and as he said,
- 2:05:34post game against against the team up north last week.
- 2:05:37We're playing for hardware now and that you just watch them.
- 2:05:41Oregon is another one. I get that same feeling when I
- 2:05:44when I watch them, there's another gear there somewhere.
- 2:05:48I kind of feel that way about Oklahoma as well.
- 2:05:50But when I watch Ohio State, 4 1/2 points.
- 2:05:54If if I said you have to lay 4 1/2 points and you get to take
- 2:05:58Ohio State, is there a team in the country where you would you
- 2:06:01would take the other guy? Probably not.
- 2:06:08And so that's the that's really the way I'm looking at.
- 2:06:11And you could probably even press that number if, if I told
- 2:06:14you, you had to lay 6 1/2 and you get Ohio State.
- 2:06:18Is there anybody? Maybe Alabama.
- 2:06:20Maybe maybe you start to get into Alabama, you start to get
- 2:06:24into Georgia, you know, you start to get into some of those
- 2:06:27SEC teams. But I I don't really, I don't
- 2:06:31really know that that there's any other team.
- 2:06:33So at late 4 1/2, it is in Indiana.
- 2:06:37It is not going to feel, it's not going to feel like a
- 2:06:40lopsided environment. You're talking about Columbus,
- 2:06:42which is, you know, 2 hour drive.
- 2:06:46They they've been there more than any other team other than
- 2:06:48Wisconsin. So it's going to be a pretty,
- 2:06:51pretty mixed environment in in Indianapolis.
- 2:06:54Yeah, you. Got to imagine there's a lot of
- 2:06:56Hawaii State fans. It's everywhere in the Midwest,
- 2:06:59Michigan. Yeah, we're, we're like roaches.
- 2:07:02We're everywhere. All right, is that, is that #4
- 2:07:08that was a score shot right there.
- 2:07:10That was, that was very impressive, very fluent.
- 2:07:15And you did it when your son was popping in, popping out.
- 2:07:17I mean, you're the purple popper over there.
- 2:07:21The purple popper I. Think the barger was black?
- 2:07:23Well, it's you kind of got to have eyes on the back of your
- 2:07:28head with this kid running around.
- 2:07:30There's no telling what he'll do.
- 2:07:31That's what parents do, Errol. We know where our kids are at.
- 2:07:34We don't even have to see them. OK.
- 2:07:37Jabba, I mean chill. It.
- 2:07:39Being a. Parent you, you got first of
- 2:07:43all, I want to be a dad, all right.
- 2:07:45I got a girl that is up and down when it comes to having
- 2:07:48children. So just so you know, that was my
- 2:07:51that. Was the.
- 2:07:52Curveball right there. That was the curve.
- 2:07:54I'm going to piss everybody off tonight if she's watching so,
- 2:07:57but it seems like that's that's the trend I have tonight,
- 2:08:02pissing people off. It's good for you and you leave
- 2:08:08a reaction, you know? Do I ever?
- 2:08:12That was give. That was give West credit.
- 2:08:15Where he deserves. It he gave praise to Oklahoma,
- 2:08:17at Oklahoma, as he calls it, and it was level headed about Ohio
- 2:08:20State. So well, you know, the deal with
- 2:08:23Oklahoma this year, I like the style that they're playing.
- 2:08:26I I don't that's the team I'm the most scared of as a Buckeye
- 2:08:30fan in the playoffs because of the way they played the defense.
- 2:08:33They went into T town and punched him in the mouth And and
- 2:08:35not a lot of teams can do that. And, and, and Brett Venables,
- 2:08:39you know, drives me crazy how he's, you know, he's, he's he's
- 2:08:42the star player. You know, his name is constantly
- 2:08:44mentioned throughout the broadcast, but you know, they,
- 2:08:47that team looks tough. It doesn't look like the, the
- 2:08:50run and gun that that they were under Lincoln Riley and Stoops.
- 2:08:54They actually look like a team that was made to be in the SEC.
- 2:08:57And that in that move of getting a defensive minded coach and,
- 2:09:02and, you know, putting a team on the field that looks the part of
- 2:09:06an SEC team. I I still get, I still get a
- 2:09:10really gross feeling when I'm in the state of, of Oklahoma, but
- 2:09:15that team, they've gotten my respect this year.
- 2:09:17Before we let you go, I just want to give a shout out to all
- 2:09:20the fans. I, I don't want to say this, but
- 2:09:22I'm going to say it. The Chiefs are going to make the
- 2:09:26playoffs. They're going to find a way to
- 2:09:28make the playoffs this year. I it's typical and I don't want
- 2:09:32to see it, but I'm telling you, Pittsburgh is not for real.
- 2:09:35And I don't know if I trust the Chargers either because they
- 2:09:38can't stay healthy. So and they're losing every
- 2:09:41single guy every single week. And it just seems like every
- 2:09:45single time somebody drops at the end of the season.
- 2:09:48And I think the Chargers are going to skip out of the
- 2:09:49playoffs and somehow Kansas City's going to sneak into the
- 2:09:53playoffs. Well, financially there's,
- 2:09:56there's a lot politically going on on both sides of state Line
- 2:09:59Rd. in Kansas and Missouri and, and the Royals and the Chiefs in
- 2:10:02the stadium deal. And you know, there's a lot of
- 2:10:05opinions out there, but the reality is the Chiefs are going
- 2:10:07to get a new stadium and they're going to get this deal done here
- 2:10:09in the next, you know, 6-6 to 12 months.
- 2:10:12Their lease ends on the on the 30.
- 2:10:15My tickets are going to get incredibly expensive and I would
- 2:10:18like that not to be for a team that doesn't make the playoffs
- 2:10:21because I sell a couple of them so that I can play for the rest
- 2:10:25of this season. It seems like there's
- 2:10:27everything's getting expensive, including the steakhouse that
- 2:10:30Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes opened up.
- 2:10:32So stay away from that. Anyways, we love you, Wes.
- 2:10:36I'll talk to you a little bit probably tomorrow or one of
- 2:10:39these days. This week.
- 2:10:40It's been a crazy week for me. But yeah, be safe, guys.
- 2:10:43Absolutely worldwide, Wes Buddy of mine, great personality, nosy
- 2:10:47sports, one of the best handicappers in the country.
- 2:10:50All right, when we come back, I've got a funny one for you for
- 2:10:54in Like Finn Flynn. I'm sorry.
- 2:10:56In Like Finn, In Like Flynn, we got King of the Hill.
- 2:10:59And what's that smell when we come back?
- 2:11:01But first, our second Sportsman of the Night.
- 2:11:06This is the Jabba and the Mouth Sportsman ads.
- 2:11:11All right, guys, Aaron Fishman here with your sportsman.
- 2:11:13It got a couple more stories before we go through the scores
- 2:11:16this evening. Suspended guard Terry Rozier and
- 2:11:19his lawyers are running out of excuses, at least in the media,
- 2:11:23according to an ESPN report When ESPN first published a story
- 2:11:26back in October about a large tax lien against Rozier.
- 2:11:30Rozier and his lawyer Jim Trustee and tested this story
- 2:11:33saying Rozier only owes $3000. Well first he said 9000 and then
- 2:11:37began 3000. Well, the good people at ESPN
- 2:11:40apparently did not like being called liars and dug up the
- 2:11:44October 29th court court release state stating that Rozier's tax
- 2:11:49lien is a whopping $8.2 million. Despite claiming ignorance,
- 2:11:54Rozier would have received a multitude of emails, snail mail
- 2:11:57and alerts for the case to get this far.
- 2:12:00According to a tax professional source, the ESPN article sought
- 2:12:03out to completely bury Rozier in his camp.
- 2:12:06Well, good work and way to be petty.
- 2:12:07ESPN seems to have worked and Rozier seems.
- 2:12:09To be even more in. More hot water than the already
- 2:12:12pending wire fraud and money laundering charges against him.
- 2:12:17Figures. You get a lawyer like with the
- 2:12:18name like trustee and it's the last thing you can do with the
- 2:12:21guy. The 4th member of the Hockey
- 2:12:25Canada 5, who were acquitted this past summer of sexual
- 2:12:29assault, have signed with a team to continue their careers.
- 2:12:32Bevin put on hold since the trial.
- 2:12:35On Monday, it was Cal Foot who signed an AHL contract with the
- 2:12:39Chicago Wolves, the affiliate for the Carolina Hurricanes.
- 2:12:43The only member of the group to get an NHL shot is goalie Carter
- 2:12:46Hart, who signed almost immediately after he became
- 2:12:49available on October 15th with the Las Vegas Golden Knights to
- 2:12:52a two year deal. Hart made his debut last night
- 2:12:55with A43 shootout win. He had 27 saves, including six
- 2:12:59in overtime. The five suspensions stemmed
- 2:13:02from an incident during the 2018 World Junior Hockey
- 2:13:04Championships, which led to a young woman years later accusing
- 2:13:08the group of members of the World Junior Canada team of
- 2:13:11sexual assault. After the game, Hart told
- 2:13:14reporters after getting choked up about the moment.
- 2:13:16Yeah, it's been a really difficult journey to get back,
- 2:13:18one I wouldn't have been able to do without my family and
- 2:13:20friends. I'm just so happy to be playing
- 2:13:22the game again. The players were found innocent
- 2:13:25as the case fell apart for the prosecution over the summer in
- 2:13:29July. Now with the new lease on life,
- 2:13:31it should be interesting to see how Hart Foot and the rest of
- 2:13:33them the couple were playing overseas.
- 2:13:36Play out the rest of your careers, guys.

- 2:14:17Yum. I am a legend.
- 2:14:20Goody has no. Woody love this track.
- 2:14:25J. Cole, baby.
- 2:14:27Love it. You know, whenever I hear this
- 2:14:33track, it reminds me of Stephen A Smith.
- 2:14:36If you listen to his break in this song, I feel like he's
- 2:14:40talking Stephen A Smith, like J. Cole is talking like he's
- 2:14:43Stephen A Smith. Very cocky, confident and sticks
- 2:14:47it. So I every time I hear this
- 2:14:50track, it reminds me of Stephen A Smith.
- 2:14:52I don't know. So anyways, you're listening to
- 2:14:56Java and the mouth. I guess I'm the scary mouth

- 2:15:43Anyways, we got in like Flynn. Going my lady, I've often heard
- 2:15:48that you'd give me a warm welcome if ever we met again.
- 2:15:53In like Flynn, Flynn, Flynn all. Righty ladies and gentlemen, you
- 2:16:02guys are going to like this one and I was thinking heavily about
- 2:16:07this before the show and it just transitions into this.
- 2:16:11Ladies and gentlemen, my in like Flynn tonight is very specific,
- 2:16:15very enjoyable and you guys are in for a tailspin.
- 2:16:20You like that I was like a Disney thing right there.
- 2:16:22Speedy, you like that? I I think it was it was a great,
- 2:16:26great flip. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 2:16:29tonight's in like Flynn is the greatest San Diego Chargers of
- 2:16:36all time. And I, I am not going to change
- 2:16:39it because this is what I was doing before the show and I was,
- 2:16:43I was trying to hunt on how I'm going to attack this and I'm
- 2:16:47going to attack it tonight. Why not?
- 2:16:49Ladies and gentlemen, at #10 now, I, I checked out a lot of
- 2:16:53different, you know, statistics and rankings the way some of the
- 2:16:58these guys are ranking these players.
- 2:17:00And I thought rancorrancor.com gives you the best list as far
- 2:17:05as I'm concerned because they Add all the players.
- 2:17:07I disagree on a lot of them, but I have their rankings.
- 2:17:11All right, so at #10 they got Fred Dean. 73 year old Fred Dean
- 2:17:17played a significant amount of time.
- 2:17:20He was a great player for the Chargers.
- 2:17:22There's no question that he was. I wasn't alive to see him.
- 2:17:25I would not put him in my top ten.
- 2:17:27I would not I, I, I don't remember Fred Dean as far as I'm
- 2:17:31concerned, I've heard about him, but I wouldn't put him on my top
- 2:17:34hat 10 if I, I haven't seen him specifically on my list.
- 2:17:38I'm going to go at #10 who they ranked at number.
- 2:17:42Hold on, I I got a moment right over here at #16 I think he's
- 2:17:47much higher than this. I'm going to go with Vincent
- 2:17:50Jackson. Vincent Jackson was one of the
- 2:17:52more under underrated wide receivers. 42 year old foot and
- 2:17:57jammer played with him. He's sensational, great size,
- 2:18:00great ability, leaping ability. This guy had some sensational
- 2:18:04seasons with Phillip Rivers. When everybody talks about the
- 2:18:07weapons that they had with Damien Thomas in, they had one
- 2:18:10of the best tight ends in the world and out of all time.
- 2:18:13People forget about Vincent Jackson and how long and how
- 2:18:16athletic he was. I would put Vincent Jackson at
- 2:18:19#10 at #9 They have Melvin Ingram who's still in the
- 2:18:23league, you know, hopping around in different places.
- 2:18:27I would not put Melvin Ingram in my top ten.
- 2:18:29I don't know why they have him in my top ten.
- 2:18:31That's ridiculous. He's not as good as they made
- 2:18:34him out to be. God could never stay healthy
- 2:18:36when he was over there with the Chargers.
- 2:18:38He's still 36 years old and still playing in the NFL.
- 2:18:41But I'm going to go with Eric Weddell.
- 2:18:42Eric Weddell to me is a borderline Hall of Famer, one of
- 2:18:46the great safeties in the league.
- 2:18:48I I love the way he play hard nosed, reminded me a lot of us
- 2:18:52of of different safeties in the past and comparable to a couple
- 2:18:56of safeties that are on the league right now.
- 2:18:59Fun to watch. He always was a ball hawk and he
- 2:19:02he know how to blitz and any kind of defense that he ran.
- 2:19:05So I'm going Eric Weddell at #9 at #8.
- 2:19:10They have the great Antonio Cromartie.
- 2:19:13I think he's higher than that. So at #5 and I'm going to, I'm
- 2:19:18going to say this because I actually, no, you don't want,
- 2:19:23I'm not going to. I, I, I got to put him in.
- 2:19:25I, I'm going to take, I'm going to take it.
- 2:19:28I'm going to move Antonio Kamardi up a little bit.
- 2:19:31I'm going to add this guy because I'm looking at it.
- 2:19:33I'm going to go with John Carney.
- 2:19:35John Carney, one of the best kickers, one of the greatest
- 2:19:37kickers of all time, should be in the Hall of Fame.
- 2:19:40I I don't know if he is yet, but he to me is one of the greatest
- 2:19:44kickers that of all time. I think he had the longest kick
- 2:19:47in NFL history at one point. I think it was 62 yards.
- 2:19:50And it was broken recently, I think by Tucker.
- 2:19:53And then somebody else broke it from I think the Cowboys kicker
- 2:19:56broke. Yeah.
- 2:19:57So I'm going to go with the kicker.
- 2:19:59I'm going to put him there. And that's my kicker.
- 2:20:01I'm going to put Sean Carney at #7 I'm going to put, well, they
- 2:20:06had Sean Merriman, love Sharon. Sean Merriman.
- 2:20:09He's been on the show. I would not put Sean Merriman in
- 2:20:12my top 10. I think he was very overrated.
- 2:20:15That's just my opinion. I thought he was overrated.
- 2:20:17He had two great seasons and I know Sean wouldn't want to hear
- 2:20:20this. I, it seems like I like to piss
- 2:20:23off charge of players, but I, I would not put him there.
- 2:20:28I would move him out. I think Sean Merriman's number
- 2:20:3111, I think he's on outside looking in.
- 2:20:33There's too many great players at #7.
- 2:20:36I would put Antonio Kamardi. I think Antonio Kamardi is one
- 2:20:38of the greatest safeties. I mean greatest corners, DBS
- 2:20:41they've ever had. I remember when he was drafted,
- 2:20:43had a sensational career over there and then he went to The
- 2:20:45Jets. It was sensational.
- 2:20:47I I think he was very underrated, very run underrated
- 2:20:51over there with that defense at when it was at the top of its
- 2:20:54game. He was one of the best corners
- 2:20:56in the league for a very long time.
- 2:20:58So I put Antonio Kamardi at #7. At number six, they have Phillip
- 2:21:02Rivers. I think they're crazy.
- 2:21:04I think Phillip Rivers should be higher than that.
- 2:21:07I would say at number six. I'm going to put a tenant tight
- 2:21:10end. He is a Hall of Famer and we
- 2:21:12know his son Kellen Winslow was a great, great player.
- 2:21:15There's no question he was a great player.
- 2:21:18But I in the top, in the top five, I wouldn't put him there.
- 2:21:24I there's just so many other great players and I just
- 2:21:28wouldn't put him there. So I put Kellen Winslow at #6 I
- 2:21:33sensational player, Hall of Famer, one of the greatest tight
- 2:21:36ends of all time, but I wouldn't put him on my top five at #5
- 2:21:40they have Kellen Winslow. I'm going to have Lance
- 2:21:44Allsworth now. He was a wide receiver.
- 2:21:46He's one of the greatest underrated wide receivers of all
- 2:21:50time. If you look at his numbers,
- 2:21:52they're comparable to some of the elite wide receivers of all
- 2:21:54time. He is.
- 2:21:56He was a special player and he was one of the elite guys in
- 2:22:00that sand with those San Diego Charger teams, the elite San
- 2:22:02Diego Charger team. So I'm going to go Lance
- 2:22:05Allsworth at #5 at #4 I'm going to go, well, they have Lance
- 2:22:12Allsworth. I have Antonio Gates, one of the
- 2:22:16greatest tight ends. I think you could put him in the
- 2:22:19top three of all time. You can argue that he was just
- 2:22:22fun to watch. Big Long play basketball.
- 2:22:25Fun, fun player. Very exciting and extreme when
- 2:22:31it comes to the media work. When he spoke to the media,
- 2:22:33always had a smile on his face. Love to watch him play.
- 2:22:36I would have him at #4 at #2. I'm going to put Junior say out.
- 2:22:44Junior say how I know a lot of people put him in my top 2,
- 2:22:47their top 2 and they have him in the top 2.
- 2:22:49I love Junior Sehal. I loved him.
- 2:22:52He was great everywhere he went. Greatest I you could argue top
- 2:22:56five greatest linebackers ever play the game.
- 2:22:58Some people put him in the top three Hall of Famer special.
- 2:23:03Sad what happened to junior Say how?
- 2:23:05And my heart goes out to him and his family.
- 2:23:07Everything that he did, he did it right on the football field.
- 2:23:10Great team leader, great player. Knew how to blitz, knew how to
- 2:23:14get to the quarterback. Very good in coverage.
- 2:23:16Probably the best coverage linebacker to ever play the
- 2:23:19game. I put junior say how at #3 at #2
- 2:23:24I'm going to have to put Phillip Rivers.
- 2:23:27Phillip Rivers was fun to watch. I, I said it and I've always
- 2:23:33loved the guy. Window thrower, one of the more
- 2:23:35accurate quarterbacks of the league when he was at the top of
- 2:23:39his game. I everything he did with his
- 2:23:42personality, his flair, You like him, you hate him, everybody.
- 2:23:47He was one of the most hated players in the league, but one
- 2:23:49of the most loved players on his team.
- 2:23:52Everything about him screams to me of super stardom.
- 2:23:55The guy's a Hall of Fame. I don't know if he's first
- 2:23:57ballot, but he is on the ballot this year.
- 2:23:59He will get into the Hall of Fame and Steve White will be
- 2:24:02owing me a nice steak dinner, So I'm going.
- 2:24:05Phillip Rivers at #2 and at #1. He played for The Jets and he
- 2:24:11played for this team. He was traded for one of the
- 2:24:13greatest speed demon quarterbacks of all time.
- 2:24:17You know what I'm talking about. Speedy.
- 2:24:19Michael Vick was traded for Ladainian Thomlson.
- 2:24:23If people forget, Ladainian Thomlson is one of the greatest
- 2:24:27running backs to ever play the game.
- 2:24:29His workouts were strategic and uncomparable.
- 2:24:34The things that this guy did off the field are insane.
- 2:24:38I've never seen a guy work out like this guy.
- 2:24:40His training methods were sick and on the football field,
- 2:24:44right. Some people would say it was
- 2:24:46Barry Sanders esque. Him and Saquon are the closest
- 2:24:50to Barry Sanders. The guy spinned.
- 2:24:52He his agility, his athletic ability.
- 2:24:55He wasn't big, but he was so strong.
- 2:24:57His leg strength was just ridiculous.
- 2:25:00I I mean, if you watch his workouts, they were ridiculous.
- 2:25:03I mean, this guy was the greatest running back of this
- 2:25:06era. I think you could argue that he
- 2:25:08was. I'm going with Danny and Thomas
- 2:25:10as the number one greatest Charger of all time.
- 2:25:16There is quarterbacks and there is a quarterback that should
- 2:25:19have been on this list, but I didn't put him there because
- 2:25:22there's just so many great players.
- 2:25:23The Chargers had that and I didn't put a lot of defensive
- 2:25:26players. They were all really offensive
- 2:25:28players. I but Antonio Kamardi is
- 2:25:31definitely on my list. I, I loved Antonio Kamardi.
- 2:25:34I really did. So I put him higher than a lot
- 2:25:37of guys because I just love the way he played and when he was a
- 2:25:41Jet he was my him and Darrelle Revis were arguably my favorite
- 2:25:44players. So I wasn't a brilliant Edwards
- 2:25:47fan that's for sure. And I wasn't a Bart Scott fan
- 2:25:51either. So I but I loved Antonio Camardi
- 2:25:54and I think they were the best duo The Jets have ever had.
- 2:25:56And as far as secondaries in the league for like 3 years they had
- 2:26:00the best. I don't think you can argue the
- 2:26:01Revis Island and Crow. I mean, when they played at the
- 2:26:05top level, I don't think anybody wanted to throw on either side.
- 2:26:09So one was mean and and played mean.
- 2:26:12And I'm talking about Dora Rivas.
- 2:26:13And the other guy was athletically gifted, long and
- 2:26:16and had the agility to do a lot of things and intercept the
- 2:26:19ball, which by the way, I think I won.
- 2:26:20I think one season he had like 13 interceptions or some
- 2:26:23ridiculous number with the Chargers.
- 2:26:25I I don't know exactly the number he was.
- 2:26:27He was, I think he had three in the in the one game that Peyton
- 2:26:30Manning threw 6 interceptions. And I remember that he had an
- 2:26:33unbelievable season. He was up.
- 2:26:35He was our first, first team all defensive player.
- 2:26:38And Crow, I think it was early in his career when he did it
- 2:26:41too. He was fun to watch and I loved
- 2:26:44Crow. So I no, nobody, nobody,
- 2:26:47including yours truly would ever take A and I think he was the
- 2:26:51only defensive player I picked in I think he was the only
- 2:26:54defensive player I. Bet yeah, because the the two
- 2:26:56pass rushers at the beginning and Fred Dean was 100 sack plus.
- 2:26:59He wasn't in my top. 10 He wasn't in your top ten.
- 2:27:01And then Melvin Inger, I was surprised with that number. 9
- 2:27:03Eric Weddell Eric Weddell. Weddell should have been much
- 2:27:05higher. Eleven.
- 2:27:07Was Nick Hardwick on your list? He was a good center.
- 2:27:08I would have taken him over Ingram, too.
- 2:27:10And then Carney, who's also been on our show last year as well.
- 2:27:13Carney is definitely one of the greatest.
- 2:27:14Kickers. One of the greatest kickers all
- 2:27:16the time. I mean, he's got to be in my top
- 2:27:18ten, but they had a lot of other good players that we didn't.
- 2:27:21Sean Merriman, he was there. I'm not a big Melvin Ingram fan.
- 2:27:25No, he's way too high on this list.
- 2:27:27Louis Kelcher was also on this list.
- 2:27:31Sid Gilman, Jamal Williams, Austin Eckler, Ron Mix.
- 2:27:36They were great. Players.
- 2:27:37Williams was a good nose tackle too.
- 2:27:39Kind of played right with Merriman on those.
- 2:27:40Teams and I loved Vincent Jackson loved the way he plays a
- 2:27:43very rest in peace. By the way, I I love I loved
- 2:27:46Vincent Jackson, everything about him.
- 2:27:47So it's a shame that he he got he's gone so early in his career
- 2:27:51and his life. So I I loved watching him play.
- 2:27:54All right, ladies and gentlemen, we got King of the Hill.
- 2:27:57And here's the King of the Hill. This, Bobby, is the Beltline.
- 2:28:01You never ever hit below that. Not that kind of king of the
- 2:28:05hill, you dumb ready? Are.
- 2:28:08You ready? This is King of the Hill.
- 2:28:11All right, guys, welcome to King of the Hill.
- 2:28:16Oh oh. This game is a good one.
- 2:28:18We don't do it that all that often anymore, but if you
- 2:28:20haven't seen in the past, we used to.
- 2:28:23We have 3 rounds, we got some trivia and we're going to
- 2:28:26compete for a chance to take on the game.
- 2:28:27The thing is, Errol marks the winner, has a chance to dethrone
- 2:28:31the king, but first they got to go to the peasant fight.
- 2:28:33Well, they'll take on each other with a question and then Errol
- 2:28:36will decide who will take on finals each other in the joust
- 2:28:43with a tough my Indo to make it to the last round to take on the
- 2:28:46king. Some of my ass where we.
- 2:28:47Will vote democratically to try to overthrow his tyrannical
- 2:28:52monarchy. Are you guys ready to play King
- 2:28:55of the Hill? Let's.
- 2:28:57Do it. All right, here we go.
- 2:28:59Let's get the camera set. Let's get the king up top.
- 2:29:03I'll get in the Jesters chair and guys, we have it set up
- 2:29:07right here. I'm going to show you the
- 2:29:09category. We'll go in this order from left
- 2:29:11to right, Jabba, Speedy, Jarrett, and then Tommy will go
- 2:29:14twice and we'll snake back around the other way.
- 2:29:17Here it is. They put it back up with the
- 2:29:21first round. Round one peasant fight.
- 2:29:27I want you guys to tell us who you think are the best defensive
- 2:29:34players of the 2025, just one season.
- 2:29:39So I want you to go through it. You can get some PFF rankings up
- 2:29:43there. And are you not your favorite?
- 2:29:45Maybe you want to get some more traditionalist rankings, you
- 2:29:49know. He says PFF isn't his favorite,
- 2:29:51but he used it in the opener today at PFF well.
- 2:29:54That's because I had to. Someone made coming made.
- 2:30:02It was a good point to make. The Giants gave up on a guy who
- 2:30:05is 18th overall a defensive. Tackle.
- 2:30:08And and Brave was like, yeah, we'll take them, thanks.
- 2:30:12You suck. So you guys are going to tell
- 2:30:14me. Grobar.
- 2:30:16Those guys. So let's get into that our our
- 2:30:18camera setup and we'll start our game right now.
- 2:30:23Start with Java Chamberlain. I mean, obviously everybody's
- 2:30:27going to go obviously now there, but I I'd like watching Will
- 2:30:31Anderson just his speed there. There was a play a couple weeks
- 2:30:35ago. Just his relentlessness have
- 2:30:36never given up on a play and how he's able to just come off the
- 2:30:41edge and even drop into coverage and just to see like how
- 2:30:45effective he is and like how he's evolved his game into into
- 2:30:49what it is. I just like seeing dudes like
- 2:30:52that and he I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley so he
- 2:30:57he gets another point for that as well.
- 2:30:59Complete player by year 3. Pretty awesome.
- 2:31:01He's probably A6 tool player if you know what I mean.
- 2:31:05I don't want to know what you mean, but I guess I sunk into
- 2:31:09my. Head.
- 2:31:10That's for a difference and. If I asked you if it hangs left
- 2:31:12to right, now you're giving me about tools and what kind of
- 2:31:16tool. I'm trying to estimate what it
- 2:31:19looks like. By the way, Fisher.
- 2:31:23Analytics you told me we can't do.
- 2:31:24This if we ever do bring that back, we're we're doing Nathan
- 2:31:26versus Java. Well.
- 2:31:30What happened to Nathan right now?
- 2:31:36It's time for speed, he's answer.
- 2:31:37All right, I'll go with his teammate.
- 2:31:38The one that Errol you kind of mentioned before has been the
- 2:31:41best corner in football so far this season.
- 2:31:43That's Derek Stingley. Even against bigger bodied
- 2:31:45receivers who's been his weakness in his career, he's
- 2:31:48still been locked down. He's there one stretches in the
- 2:31:51year where he had an under 50 QBR allowed when he was targeted
- 2:31:56in coverage. So granted, we've mentioned OK,
- 2:31:58the AFC S soft schedule to an extent understandable, but the
- 2:32:01rest of the schedule is still pretty easy.
- 2:32:02And when the offense wasn't doing anything, like the defense
- 2:32:05really had held their own and seeing there's a huge reason
- 2:32:07why. I mean, I'll take Miles Garrett,
- 2:32:0919 sacks right now, probably won't break the record this
- 2:32:12year. I mean, he's going to win
- 2:32:14Defensive Player of the year. He probably should be getting
- 2:32:17more consideration for MVP to be honest.
- 2:32:20I agree. With you, if it wasn't just a
- 2:32:22quarterback award now, you probably would be the MVP.
- 2:32:26Mom if their team wasn't God awful, but.
- 2:32:28Well, that too, but they would be the.
- 2:32:31Worst, it's a. Pretty good point.
- 2:32:33He is unstoppable, Tommy. All right, so I'm going to
- 2:32:38actually go TJ Watt. Of course Watt has had, I would
- 2:32:41say more explosive other seasons, but the thing with the
- 2:32:44TJ Watt is you get this explosiveness that you don't get
- 2:32:47at a miles Garrett, the way he just he just rushes an edge.
- 2:32:51It's just like unnatural. It's absolutely unnatural.
- 2:32:54It's absolutely amazing to see him watch this year.
- 2:32:58There's certain times in a game you could see, you know, of
- 2:32:59course, double pressure on the edge to try to double team TJ,
- 2:33:02get TJ Watt. I'm say TJ Garrett almost makes
- 2:33:04both their names together or it just ends up being.
- 2:33:07A. Steelers linebacker.
- 2:33:09That or Steelers play. That blowjob.
- 2:33:11Getting the blitz for them, so I'm going to go with TJ Why and
- 2:33:13the other player I'm going to go with.
- 2:33:15Is JC. Horn, I'm going to go with JC
- 2:33:18Horn as one of the best coverage cornerbacks, probably the best
- 2:33:22cornerback in the league right now.
- 2:33:24He is one of the best corners, like I said.
- 2:33:26And the fact that, you know, the Panthers are staying in these
- 2:33:28close games, the fact that the Panthers are still staying in
- 2:33:31the playoff race this late in the season is definitely because
- 2:33:34on the backhand of JC Horn as one of the main components of
- 2:33:38why they're still hanging around.
- 2:33:39So I'm going to go with JC Horn. I remember when that kid was
- 2:33:42drafted, when when healthy. I remember his father.
- 2:33:46His father was great. And this guy, when he was,
- 2:33:49that's amazing healthy. If he stays healthy, this guy is
- 2:33:52one of the best corners in the league so.
- 2:33:56Jerry. I'm going to go a player near
- 2:34:01and dear to my heart as a Baylor fan.
- 2:34:03This guy deserves a statue of Baylor.
- 2:34:05Jalen Petrie for the Texans. He's been one of the best
- 2:34:08safeties in the league this year.
- 2:34:10Like the best opponent quarterback ratings in the
- 2:34:13league right now. It's like a holding quarterbacks
- 2:34:17to 7 yards an attempt. No touchdowns on the year.
- 2:34:20Given up by him. One of the best safeties in the
- 2:34:22league. Absolutely deserving of some
- 2:34:24praise. They asked Derek Henry who's the
- 2:34:27person that can tackle him the best the other day he said Jalen
- 2:34:31Petrie. Jalen Petrie's the.
- 2:34:34Man, that's an honor if you can tackle Derek Henry with some
- 2:34:37oomph. Didn't they make the rules?
- 2:34:40Didn't they make the rule because Derrick Henry when dude
- 2:34:42pulled out his dreads because that was the only way he could
- 2:34:44get him down? No, that was Tori Smith a while
- 2:34:46back was the first one, and then they.
- 2:34:48Made the rule after. That.
- 2:34:51There were a couple of guys that got pulled down by their dreads
- 2:34:53over the years just like that. But that rule really got
- 2:34:58publicized with Smith. Well, that was Palamala with a
- 2:35:00$4 million insurance policy. If he played offense, he would
- 2:35:05have needed that. By the way, man, he did not age
- 2:35:09well. I just saw him at Palomalu.
- 2:35:12Palomalu did not age. I'd say I didn't.
- 2:35:16Know I'm not. He didn't age very good.
- 2:35:18Go look at what he looks like. I hate to see.
- 2:35:21It he should have got the extra champ, the conditioner.
- 2:35:25Yeah, he needs to do something. Head and shoulders.
- 2:35:29All right, I think we're back to speed at this point for Java.
- 2:35:33Or. Two.
- 2:35:34No, no, I was going to. Say I can.
- 2:35:36Do it I. Didn't do it.
- 2:35:37I didn't. Do it speeding.
- 2:35:38Give your answer. Give.
- 2:35:39Your answer, well, we're. Keeping the same theme here, A
- 2:35:41lot of Texans here. I'll go with the other edge
- 2:35:42rusher too. That's not a very Goodyear.
- 2:35:43It's Daniel Hunter, a guy that's quietly on track to a Hall of
- 2:35:46Fame career right now. He's at over over 100 sacks
- 2:35:49right now. What he was he was smaller
- 2:35:51player at the beginnings career really bulked up and he's been
- 2:35:53very consistent and a big helping out alongside Will
- 2:35:56Anderson as well on that other edges to moving teams with the
- 2:35:58Vikings, a whole new defense. He had to learn to the last
- 2:36:00couple years and he's been phenomenal again this year.
- 2:36:05All right, Jabba. I'm going to go Aidan Hutchinson
- 2:36:09and I'm going to go Aiden because coming off his injury,
- 2:36:13obviously he's better than what he's shown.
- 2:36:16But to to come through wet and still have 8 1/2 sacks and, and
- 2:36:20still didn't look like he's lost the step.
- 2:36:22And, you know, hats off to him for coming back and still being
- 2:36:26the player that he is. And then I'm going to go with
- 2:36:30probably not at the very popular choice, but Micah Parsons, I
- 2:36:35mean, still obviously not having a great year, but not a terrible
- 2:36:40year. He's got 12 1/2 sacks and, you
- 2:36:42know, 38 tackles. So he's still doing his.
- 2:36:44I don't know if a lot of people like the trade, but.
- 2:36:47Yeah, I'm going those two. All right, Speedy.
- 2:36:51All right, I'll go first time, first one with an inside
- 2:36:53linebacker here, a guy that's played very well amidst all the
- 2:36:55rest of the team's team, the rest of the team getting hurt
- 2:36:57pretty much too. Java.
- 2:36:58You mentioned one of his team is already with Hutchinson.
- 2:37:00I'm going to say Jack Campbell, a guy that's been really good in
- 2:37:01coverage as well and could do one of the best runt run
- 2:37:04stopping tacklers in the league. And this is a team that's really
- 2:37:06banged up on offense. They're playing.
- 2:37:07It's a lot of really good running games in that division
- 2:37:10with the Bears and the Packers. And he's been having a
- 2:37:12phenomenal year. I questioned when they drafted
- 2:37:14him. At the time I thought it was a
- 2:37:15reach. But he's been a very good player
- 2:37:17and this is his best season of his career so far.
- 2:37:20Jared. I'm going to go with the I think
- 2:37:24he'll be the defensive rookie of the year this year.
- 2:37:27Carson Schwenzinger for the for the Browns, but very good
- 2:37:31linebacker. I think he's like 6th or 7th in
- 2:37:33the league in tackles. He's also got 2 interceptions.
- 2:37:36I mean it's not just Miles Garrett.
- 2:37:38Why? The Browns have a good defense.
- 2:37:40Everyone else hasn't contributed, but I think
- 2:37:41Schwenzinger has contributed a big way for that team.
- 2:37:45Alright, and finish off the first Round Top.
- 2:37:47Boobs. I'm going to go Kevin Byard from
- 2:37:50the Chicago Bears. Byard honestly has been one of
- 2:37:53the better I would say coverage cornerback.
- 2:37:55I'm sorry, Cover Shakies. He's had pretty good tackling
- 2:37:58years the last couple of years. Had a good season with the
- 2:38:01Eagles on his set on the back half of that season as well.
- 2:38:04He's been absolutely a phenomenal safety for the Bears
- 2:38:06the past two years and I'm pretty sure he definitely leads
- 2:38:09the league in interceptions this year.
- 2:38:11So give me Kevin Byard, safety from the Bears.
- 2:38:17All right, Errol, who are the two people moving on to the
- 2:38:20joust? All right, I'm going to go with
- 2:38:24Jarrett. I like his pigs.
- 2:38:26I thought he was reaching and he did get he did get Miles
- 2:38:30Garrett. So I have to give him.
- 2:38:31I have to move them on. The guys haven't to me just the
- 2:38:36game changing here. So I'm going Jarrett and I'm
- 2:38:38going to go with Java. All right, Jarrett and Java,
- 2:38:42other guys pop on out and let's get the back on up Round 2.
- 2:38:50The. Joust and let's see the question
- 2:38:53for our finalists. Best under 500 team in the
- 2:38:58league right now. So basically I'm asking you to
- 2:39:02tell me who are the best bad teams in the league?
- 2:39:07Bring up the standings. They have to be under 500, can't
- 2:39:10be 500, need to be under. 500 they're not at 500.
- 2:39:14No below 500. That's why we can do this in the
- 2:39:16first round. I think it's something a lot of
- 2:39:20people say. Oh, they're they're bad, but
- 2:39:22they're a good, bad team. I want to hear or who are the
- 2:39:26best or unlucky. Maybe Pythagoras and his theorem
- 2:39:31doesn't smile on him this year. All right, but you need to tell
- 2:39:36us right now, Harold. Who's going first?
- 2:39:39I'll go Jabba the jar. All right.
- 2:39:43I'm going to the New York Jets. No, I'm I'm not I'm being not
- 2:39:50being super sarcastic, but everybody went from they're
- 2:39:55they've got good talent. Shut up scoops, but didn't
- 2:40:00expect them to win three games. But what why say they are is
- 2:40:04because I kind of look towards what they're going to do.
- 2:40:06They're believing in a coach because you didn't expect them
- 2:40:09to win three games at this point.
- 2:40:10You had them went in two, maybe 3 at the beginning of the year.
- 2:40:14And they're probably going to end up with the rest of their
- 2:40:16schedule probably winning four, maybe 5.
- 2:40:19And so I look at as a team that you expect actually dog shit
- 2:40:23from to actually go out and win games and believe in a coach and
- 2:40:26show a little bit of fight when they haven't shown it before.
- 2:40:32So I mean, yeah, you probably thought I was going to be like
- 2:40:34sarcastic and but I like, no, they they're not as bad.
- 2:40:39I mean, they're bad, but not as bad as people thought they were
- 2:40:42going. To be all right.
- 2:40:44Jared. I love bad quarterback play, so
- 2:40:49I'm going to go with the Cleveland Browns.
- 2:40:51They have one of the best defenses in the league.
- 2:40:52They so they can hang in any game, which means what their
- 2:40:56quarterback does matters. And it's going to be wildly
- 2:40:58entertaining watching them just throw the ball all over the
- 2:41:01field Willy nilly and doing stupid stuff that's fun to watch
- 2:41:05for a bad team. I was a big Will Levis guy that
- 2:41:07was must watch TV every week of what he was going to pull out
- 2:41:10there should doers now must watch TV of what he's going to
- 2:41:14try out there. But it's going to be in a big
- 2:41:16situation because their defense will keep them in the game.
- 2:41:19Second pick. I'm going to go to Cincinnati
- 2:41:21Bengals. I don't think they're really bad
- 2:41:23like they are a bad team, but a lot of that's because they've
- 2:41:26missed Joe Burrow all season long.
- 2:41:27They play no defense, which makes games fun and then they
- 2:41:31can still score. I mean, it was fun watching Joe
- 2:41:33Flacco at year 27 or whatever it is just, you know, sling pill
- 2:41:38around Burroughs going to do that.
- 2:41:40Now there's They're fun games to watch with the Bengals.
- 2:41:43All right. Jabba, I'm probably going to go
- 2:41:47commanders. It's just it's it's tough, it's
- 2:41:53tough sledding around these waters right here when you get
- 2:41:56to this point, because if if there was 500 teams, like you'd
- 2:42:00have a little bit of a shot. But yeah, I just for me that
- 2:42:05they've shown glimpses of kind of what a really decent team
- 2:42:11that they could be with the talent that they have.
- 2:42:14I think with offensively, I think they they could be better.
- 2:42:18I don't know if it's if they're going to be as good as they are
- 2:42:21defensively. They're kind of one of those
- 2:42:24flip of coins and I I just think they're not miserable to watch.
- 2:42:29And that's kind of the what I was trying to base it off of
- 2:42:32other than The Jets, that was about it.
- 2:42:34All right, and give us your last one, Java.
- 2:42:37The last one and do we only got like one more in there?
- 2:42:41There's three. There's plenty more.
- 2:42:44God, and they all suck donkey balls.
- 2:42:48That's pretty good. But which one is the best at
- 2:42:53doing that? I'm going to say the Raiders
- 2:42:57because they have one of the nicest stadiums, so even if they
- 2:43:00suck, it's nice to go there. And you're in Vegas, so you get
- 2:43:02hammered and bet. So yeah, that's my reason.
- 2:43:07All right, finish off the round, Jared.
- 2:43:10I'll say the Dolphins. Dolphins are a weird team.
- 2:43:13They they looked horrendous the start of the year.
- 2:43:15They're also kind of fun. Interceptions are fun.
- 2:43:18So the two it was fun to watch, but they they out of nowhere
- 2:43:21seem like a good team Now they're up to five and seven.
- 2:43:23They won four of their last five.
- 2:43:25They have a legit shot of making the playoffs out of nowhere and
- 2:43:29McDaniel might save his job. This is also.
- 2:43:31Jerry's are. Fun Dolphins have a fun.
- 2:43:33That's a good nickname. I mean, they look good out
- 2:43:35there. Some games to watch.
- 2:43:38They don't defend much either, so that's fun.
- 2:43:42All right, there it is, Errol. Who's moving on?
- 2:43:45To take on the king. All right, so it's very, very
- 2:43:48close, like extremely close, but The Jets beat the Browns and
- 2:43:56that's the way I look at it. So I think that's a little bit
- 2:43:59more impressive than the Browns beating The Jets because they
- 2:44:01haven't beaten The Jets and The Jets won 2720.
- 2:44:04So I'm going to go with Jabba. I I I like Miami.
- 2:44:07That's that was the turning point.
- 2:44:09I I like Miami. I like all his picks, but and I
- 2:44:13thought Miami really edged it closer.
- 2:44:16But the Browns, I I don't think the Browns are I think they're
- 2:44:20dog shit. They have no offensive weapons
- 2:44:23whatsoever. Jerry Judy has been on my
- 2:44:26fantasy. He stinks.
- 2:44:28They have no quarterback. They started 3 quarterbacks, 3
- 2:44:31quarterbacks this year and they're all dog shit.
- 2:44:34All right. So honestly I'm going to go with
- 2:44:37Java, not because it's Jets, I just the Browns are bad so they
- 2:44:44shouldn't even have three wins. I get why.
- 2:44:46I get why he picked it though, because it is like that's fun to
- 2:44:49watch a shit show. You're a.
- 2:44:50Fun bad. Team and their jerseys are
- 2:44:54brown. Shit brown so.
- 2:44:56Your jerseys are the worst all. Right, let's get everybody back
- 2:45:01in for the last round to be the voting panel for our democratic
- 2:45:07process where Java is going to take on King Errol Marx.
- 2:45:10Here's the question for Round 3. When you get to take on the
- 2:45:15king, here it is. So.
- 2:45:20You've been talking about it all night.
- 2:45:22There's only one way to wrap up tonight.
- 2:45:25Who is the MVP of the 2025 NFL season?
- 2:45:30We got 4 weeks, 5 weeks left, this upcoming weekend left in
- 2:45:35the season. It's time to decide who it is.
- 2:45:39This is when people you know, this is the right time to make
- 2:45:42your prediction, right? We got a couple of frontrunners.
- 2:45:46We got a couple of guys in the second level that are probably
- 2:45:50just a couple of good games away from being at that top level.
- 2:45:54Let's see. All right.
- 2:45:56Who's going to be king of the hill?
- 2:45:59Errol, Would you like to go first?
- 2:46:00I would like to go 1st and I think everybody knows where I'm
- 2:46:04going. I'm going the one and only.
- 2:46:08Yeah, Matthew Stafford, I think he is the MVP of the league.
- 2:46:12His schedule, he's in a division that's so competitive.
- 2:46:15He's playing in Seattle. The NFC is by far better than
- 2:46:19the AFC. I don't think it's a question or
- 2:46:21an argument. Their schedules, I mean, let's
- 2:46:23let's look at it here. Their schedule is one of the
- 2:46:26hardest in the league. And the Patriots in Drake May
- 2:46:30are one of the easiest schedules in NFL history.
- 2:46:35OK, And he is up as the number one pick to go to from Vegas.
- 2:46:40I'm absolutely, absolutely going with Matthew Stafford.
- 2:46:46All right. Jabba.
- 2:46:48I'm going to go Dak Prescott it it's I mean to look at just like
- 2:46:52his completion ratio is almost 70% at a career where he he's
- 2:46:57kind of stayed at about 6067 ish percent.
- 2:47:01Like I said earlier, he's always the bridesmaid, just never,
- 2:47:05never the bride, always I, I personally think and, and
- 2:47:09speedy, you're, you've touched on this too.
- 2:47:12We talk about voter fatigue and that necessarily doesn't come
- 2:47:14necessarily from a team, but I think it literally plays a part
- 2:47:17in some of what he does. And he doesn't get, you know,
- 2:47:20the love that he he should get. And I mean, just his ratio
- 2:47:25touchdown to interception and how I think as a leader of the
- 2:47:32team and what he's done, he's he's kind of kept guys in check.
- 2:47:36And when you do that, that just shows you as a leader.
- 2:47:39And as he gets older, he he's not losing, you know, he's 32
- 2:47:43years old. But and we're obviously he's not
- 2:47:45Stafford old, but you know, he's no spring chicken either.
- 2:47:48And he continues to do it at a high caliber.
- 2:47:50And there's something to be said about that, too.
- 2:47:53All right. All right.
- 2:47:54So everybody looks at the quarterbacks and this is where
- 2:47:57they're going. I'm going off set on this and
- 2:47:59this guy has had an unbelievable season.
- 2:48:02I know Fish is probably going to have smiles on his face.
- 2:48:06I'm going to go. Jackson Smith, Najiba, he has a
- 2:48:09chance to break records this year.
- 2:48:11His numbers are ridiculous. I, I don't think that you can
- 2:48:15question what he is doing right now.
- 2:48:17I I think he is been sensational, yes, everybody.
- 2:48:20He's been the best wide receiver in the NFLI.
- 2:48:23Don't think you can argue that right now.
- 2:48:25He has been electrifying and everybody knows that the bull is
- 2:48:28going to him and you still can't stop him.
- 2:48:31Jackson Smith, The Jigpa. All right.
- 2:48:37Wait. You say just just say Jackson.
- 2:48:39Smith and Jigpa. Oh, OK, just double checking.
- 2:48:42Very smart hurrying favor with voters that way.
- 2:48:45Yeah, Fish. I was just going to say if I
- 2:48:46wasn't, if I didn't recall, I heard that was a name that you
- 2:48:49brought up a lot early on in the.
- 2:48:51Year shut up Java. Yeah, I'm just saying, I mean
- 2:48:54like. I just remember he was saying
- 2:48:56that. And look at Java driving the
- 2:48:58wedge in this. Whole yeah, I mean for MVP
- 2:49:02that's, I mean, that's big nuts. I mean, I see the game you're
- 2:49:05playing over. Here I don't think the list is
- 2:49:07that good. Yeah, I mean, let's go back.
- 2:49:11I don't hate that one either, but I'm going to go Drake May
- 2:49:14just because I'm going to use Errol's sophomores slumps that
- 2:49:19your sophomore years, the year we figure out if you're the guy
- 2:49:22or not. And you know, it may be one in a
- 2:49:25million, but you know, just not only is, is he leading the
- 2:49:30league in, in breakout year, obviously, but you know, deep
- 2:49:34passes and being able to expand the field.
- 2:49:36And I just, for me, I, I love seeing dudes that are out there
- 2:49:41to prove people wrong. And now it's, it's him and
- 2:49:45Stafford being one and two. And, and I think with, with what
- 2:49:48he's got left, he's got a chance to go out and, and, and reel
- 2:49:51this thing in. Obviously his schedule is a
- 2:49:53little bit favorable than some people's, but you still got to
- 2:49:56go complete the passes and he's done it all year.
- 2:49:58So he, he could go down as one of the highest completion rates
- 2:50:01ever in, in history of the quarterback.
- 2:50:03So it'd be interesting. Right my my final.
- 2:50:08Last ones arrow. I, I, I'm sorry, I am surprised
- 2:50:13he's not on this list. I'm surprised that nobody would
- 2:50:16put this guy on his list because the season he's having is
- 2:50:20absolutely remarkable. And that's Miles Garrett.
- 2:50:23Miles Garrett should be on this MVP list.
- 2:50:27It's ridiculous how you have Drake May, Matthew Stafford, Dak
- 2:50:30Prescott, Jordan Love, Josh Allen, Sam Donald, maybe Caleb
- 2:50:35Williams, Patrick Mahomes. Jonathan Taylor's had a great
- 2:50:39season. Bo Nicks and Jackson Smith.
- 2:50:41Najiba. I mean, Jackson Smith over at Bo
- 2:50:43Nicks, I, I don't know how Miles Garretts not on this list.
- 2:50:47He has been unbelievable. I mean.
- 2:50:50When was the last defensive player to win MVP it?
- 2:50:53Was in the IT was in the 70s. It was Alan Page, the defensive
- 2:50:56tackle from the Vikings. Yeah.
- 2:50:59Miles Garrett is doing something we might never see again, and
- 2:51:02he's going to break. That's not true.
- 2:51:04Lawrence Taylor. No, no, But I'm saying he's
- 2:51:06going to break the record. I think he's breaking the record
- 2:51:09and he's going to do it in and I think shorter time than
- 2:51:13obviously than Lawrence Taylor did.
- 2:51:15I think he breaks the record. I think he's going to do
- 2:51:17something we've never seen any person do.
- 2:51:19I'm going Miles Garrett, He has been as dominant as a player,
- 2:51:24defensive player we've ever seen in a very long time, even better
- 2:51:27than. DJ Fish, Was that the answer to
- 2:51:29defensive player or what we were talking?
- 2:51:31About the defensive player so speedy named the there was a the
- 2:51:36only other guy besides Lawrence Taylor who did it in 1986.
- 2:51:41The other giants won. He had 20 1/2 sacks as a stand
- 2:51:45up off the ball linebacker, not as a Ned rusher, but as an off
- 2:51:48the ball linebacker. He had 20 1/2 sacks, which is
- 2:51:51just from the four three. So it's not like he was like in
- 2:51:54a three. You know, it was just.
- 2:51:56This crazy one. It's ridiculous that Miles
- 2:51:58Garrett is not on this list. It's ridiculous.
- 2:52:00I agree with you, absolutely ridiculous last one.
- 2:52:03Let's finish up the game Java. Well, that that was poopy
- 2:52:05because I was hoping that you'd let me have that one.
- 2:52:08But I I mean, I guess I got to go with Jonathan Taylor.
- 2:52:14I think at this point, if if I'm going to go with anybody right
- 2:52:18now with, you know, offensively, I'm not I'm not sold on Jordan
- 2:52:23Love because of the Jekyll and Hyde of you're not.
- 2:52:26I don't know what you're going to get.
- 2:52:27He's shown signs of it, but he's also pissed on himself too.
- 2:52:30So and John, the Taylor's been consistent more so had a rough
- 2:52:34week last week, but I think just the crazy part too is, is he's
- 2:52:39almost 1000 yards after contact. That's like that's crazy.
- 2:52:44He was like 953 last week and just to watch him continue like
- 2:52:48run the ball after like that's impressive and to see how many
- 2:52:52yards fastest went to 1000 and how many games great year.
- 2:52:56I just those bad weeks are going to add up.
- 2:52:59But I think if anybody had a chance or super dark horse
- 2:53:03finishes a lot. 455 games. With what he's done all year, I
- 2:53:07think you know he's in the conversation suck.
- 2:53:09My endo. I love Jonathan Taylor, but I
- 2:53:13when you said somebody pissed on pissed on himself, it remind me
- 2:53:16of Dan Santa. And I watched that movie again
- 2:53:18last night. That movie, every single time I
- 2:53:22could sit and watch it, I am laughing my ass off.
- 2:53:25I was eating dinner late at night and I just was I was
- 2:53:30drinking water and I just spit it out.
- 2:53:32Spit it out When? When the kids?
- 2:53:34Billy Bob Thornton's low key funny If you haven't started
- 2:53:37Land Man like you wouldn't expect it to be funny.
- 2:53:40It'd be funny, but Billy Bob is hilarious.
- 2:53:43I've got to check that out. I'm going to check, I've heard.
- 2:53:44That it's really. Started the second season,
- 2:53:46right. All right, so I'm going to give
- 2:53:48you my vote. I'm going to read off who each
- 2:53:49everyone took so we remember it. You know I can memorize it.
- 2:53:52Errol took Stafford JSN and Miles Garrett.
- 2:53:55Jabba took DAC, May and Jonathan Taylor.
- 2:53:59Here's how I'm going to match it up.
- 2:54:01I I'm going to match up Stafford versus May.
- 2:54:03I too think Stafford is better than May.
- 2:54:06I would go with Stafford. So I'm going to give that one
- 2:54:08the Java to Errol rather I am then going to match up.
- 2:54:13It looks like Dak and Miles Garrett.
- 2:54:17It was Jackson. It was Jackson.
- 2:54:20Right. No, I'm saying I'm going to save
- 2:54:21the offensive players to match up against each other.
- 2:54:24But I don't know, man. I I really, really like Miles
- 2:54:30Garrett and I think that is benefiting from two of the five
- 2:54:33best receivers in the league right now being on his team.
- 2:54:37So I'm going to give both of those to Errol and I also I'm
- 2:54:40going to give JSN over Jonathan Taylor.
- 2:54:42I think Jonathan Taylor's had a couple of bad games in there,
- 2:54:46although he has been awesome this season.
- 2:54:49JS NS just doing certain things with separation that nobody saw
- 2:54:52coming. He's doing the thing where
- 2:54:55everyone thought he was a slot receiver and now he's playing
- 2:54:57outside more than he played inside.
- 2:54:59That's what Antonio Brown did when he was getting to the top
- 2:55:02of his game. I would start thinking of him as
- 2:55:05a similar type of star player at the receiver position.
- 2:55:08Going forwards. Give me arrow on this one,
- 2:55:10Jared, who you got? It's really close for me.
- 2:55:14I consider a DAC and Stafford neck and neck back just doesn't
- 2:55:18have the defense to help him out.
- 2:55:19I think Jonathan Taylor is a little bit more of the the
- 2:55:22engine behind his team than JSN is.
- 2:55:25But what it comes down to is in my first King of the Hill months
- 2:55:30ago, they're eliminated me for Saint Drake May had one of the
- 2:55:33most impressive performances of week, whatever it was, and at a
- 2:55:36pure spite. I will go with Jabba for taking
- 2:55:40Drake May. That's right.
- 2:55:45Listen, just like we found out in the year 2013.
- 2:55:47Easiest. Trump won the first time. 13,000
- 2:55:51people voted. For a guerrilla named Harambe.
- 2:55:54Aaron Judge got 11 mayoral votes.
- 2:55:57I should have voted. I would have voted for him.
- 2:55:59I voted for Derek Jeter one year.
- 2:56:01I don't remember which election it.
- 2:56:03Was, didn't, didn't you were talking about Harambe?
- 2:56:05Didn't. Harambe got like 15,000 votes in
- 2:56:092016. He was a dead gorilla.
- 2:56:11I had friends that voted for him, I remember.
- 2:56:15That vote for Harambe, I think they were like those like faded
- 2:56:18Che Guevara, like pictures of Harambe.
- 2:56:22There's an interesting time 2016.
- 2:56:24Anyway, let's go to Speedy. It's votes tied 11.
- 2:56:27Yeah, it's very close job. I do like the penniness of
- 2:56:29taking away Dak Prescott from him because obviously he would
- 2:56:31have taken him second otherwise. I wouldn't have.
- 2:56:33I had no interest to take really.
- 2:56:35OK. No, I did.
- 2:56:36All right. Well, I'm looking at, I'm just
- 2:56:38looking at what these guys did this season.
- 2:56:40No, I do. I do applaud the effort though,
- 2:56:42but I'm going to take care. I like his argument for Miles
- 2:56:43Garrett at the end, but going with the defensive MVP, like the
- 2:56:46historic angle type thing was very good.
- 2:56:48And again, I think your first argument kind of cancelled out
- 2:56:50so. You're talking about two players
- 2:56:52that historically are going to possibly going to break records.
- 2:56:55Yeah, I. Mean.
- 2:56:56That's all I'm saying. All right, well, historically,
- 2:57:02you break a tie with the last guy and here he is.
- 2:57:05Tommy scoops. It's 2 to one right now.
- 2:57:08Who you going with? I know you just said that about
- 2:57:10breaking a tie. You're probably going to hate
- 2:57:12me, Arrow. I did like your list, but
- 2:57:14honestly, Jabba, all three of those players that you picked
- 2:57:18are definitely the players that I would have selected as well,
- 2:57:20too. I definitely could see May Zach
- 2:57:22and Jonathan Taylor being MVPS over in Jigba and Miles Garrett
- 2:57:27this year. Definitely 100%.
- 2:57:29So I'm going to actually go Jabba.
- 2:57:31Playing devil's advocate here. I'm not intentional, but I'm
- 2:57:34going Jabba on this so. All right, so Tommy, thanks for
- 2:57:38making making me have to do extra work on a segment.
- 2:57:42I'm sorry way. To go on that one, Tommy.
- 2:57:44Just flip a coin. Here's what we.
- 2:57:46Do all right, we're going to flip the coin, Jabba.
- 2:57:48We're not flipping a coin. We're.
- 2:57:49Not putting a runner on. Second base, all right, but what
- 2:57:53we are going to do is ask you to come up with one more guy each
- 2:57:57for the same question and let's see who we who you got.
- 2:58:01And we're just going to vote on it one more time, give you a
- 2:58:04second to look at your list again.
- 2:58:07Errol, since you're the reigning king, you can decide to go first
- 2:58:10or second. I'm going to go first.
- 2:58:12It's very close. I'm not taking Jordan Love
- 2:58:14because he's too wishy washy. Josh Allen to wishy washy.
- 2:58:19So it's between these two guys. I'm not going to mention these
- 2:58:22two guys, but I like both of them.
- 2:58:25But I'm going to go with the the youngster.
- 2:58:28I'm going to go with the guy that is doing something with the
- 2:58:31Bears that a lot of people did not predict.
- 2:58:34And he stood. He's standing out to me.
- 2:58:37He's making the plays, he's not putting up ridiculous numbers.
- 2:58:40And I know a lot of people are going to like the other guy a
- 2:58:41little bit more because of what he's doing with somebody else.
- 2:58:45I'm going to go with Caleb Williams.
- 2:58:47I think Caleb Williams has been sensational.
- 2:58:49I think he's led the team. Everybody said that this guy
- 2:58:52wasn't a leader, wasn't a leader.
- 2:58:55Well, this year he speaks to the media a little bit differently.
- 2:58:59He started to see isn't a little wishy washy because he went into
- 2:59:02the quarterback room and some of the coaches said they can't
- 2:59:05stand the way he acts inside the quarterback room and it doesn't
- 2:59:08show up. But I think it's changed in the
- 2:59:10second-half of the season. I think he's bought into Ben
- 2:59:13Johnson's offense and you could see the difference in the
- 2:59:15second-half. He's putting up these numbers
- 2:59:19and he's doing it in a way with a great running game and he's
- 2:59:23he's just doing it in a way I I didn't think he was going to.
- 2:59:26I I'm going to go Caleb Williams.
- 2:59:28I like what Caleb Williams is doing.
- 2:59:30I'm going to go Justin Herbert. I know some of his yards are
- 2:59:34different. This one's tough because you
- 2:59:36kind of don't know which direction you're going to go.
- 2:59:40And I know he's had some trash yards at the end, but even if
- 2:59:43you got trash yards, you still got yards and you still have
- 2:59:45complete passes and you still got to be able to do that.
- 2:59:48Kayla, I do like Kayla Williams too.
- 2:59:50I think he's going to be really good.
- 2:59:53But yeah, Herbert was was my choice.
- 2:59:55And then I was like, shit, I. Better go with Herbert, but
- 2:59:58yeah. I was going to go with somebody
- 2:59:59younger that you didn't expect, but that was really about all
- 3:00:03that. And I love Justin Herbert all
- 3:00:05season and the last couple of games he hasn't looked the same.
- 3:00:08The team that so many guys, they've lost, it it, it bothers
- 3:00:12me that Justin Herbert, he was on his way, I think, as an MVP.
- 3:00:16I agree. I agree.
- 3:00:17But he's just falling off. I could not put him in in this
- 3:00:21even in the top 10 right now either.
- 3:00:22Daniel Jones, he's falling off too.
- 3:00:24He looked like he was going to be a short top five guy and he's
- 3:00:27falling off. Over the last couple of weeks.
- 3:00:29The guy that I thought you should have went with was Sam
- 3:00:31Darnold. I I think Sam.
- 3:00:33Is all right Well, we got to make our.
- 3:00:34Own choice. OK, you.
- 3:00:37Base it on argument. It's not just who the player
- 3:00:40was. I was going to go with a coach
- 3:00:42and throw shit way off. I love that Java since you kind
- 3:00:46of capitulated saying that you wanted to take Caleb.
- 3:00:50Oh yeah, with Herbert, first of all, use words that I
- 3:00:53understand. I don't know what the fuck
- 3:00:55capitulate mean it. Means exactly what you freaking
- 3:00:58think it means, man. You capitulated.
- 3:01:04You. Kind of threw in towel is what
- 3:01:06I'm saying, because by explaining it that way that you
- 3:01:09wish you could have taken the guy that he took.
- 3:01:11So therefore, I'm going to go with the guy that he took in
- 3:01:14that scenario dealt with using that logic, Jared.
- 3:01:19Yeah, I mean, I picked on spite last time and I think this is
- 3:01:22close enough or I I don't like Caleb Williams, but also don't
- 3:01:25think I think he's been a little bit better than her group this
- 3:01:28year. So I'll go with.
- 3:01:29I'll go with Arrow. Yeah, I think both kind of
- 3:01:31similar circumstances. Now, the Bears do have a better
- 3:01:32skill players, but both both good coaches.
- 3:01:35I think still Chicago playing a tough division the way they are
- 3:01:37this year. Caleb Williams, they've had to
- 3:01:39win a lot of close games because they underperformed points.
- 3:01:43Their defense has been hurt all year.
- 3:01:44I'm going to give a slight edge to Arrow, but it was a very good
- 3:01:46battle. All right, Tommy, your vote.
- 3:01:50All right, is over. Yep, it's over.
- 3:01:52But Jabba, hey, man, I tried having you hanging around there,
- 3:01:54but similar like Fish said and Jared as well.
- 3:01:57I think that Caleb Williams has had a tad bit of a better season
- 3:02:00considering someone that made the switch from Justin Herbert
- 3:02:03on his fantasy team putting Caleb Williams over him.
- 3:02:06It's definitely paid off a lot well the last couple of weeks.
- 3:02:09So I'm definitely going with Errol on this.
- 3:02:10One, yeah, I mean. There it is.
- 3:02:12I would too, but Herbert has better numbers, but that's fine.
- 3:02:15Yeah. He's also.
- 3:02:17I just said it based on the logic.
- 3:02:19Oh, no, I agree. And I just wanted to get this
- 3:02:21segment over with, so. That's why you wanted to flip a
- 3:02:24coin. You thought he had a better shot
- 3:02:26with a coin? It's all Tommy's fault in the
- 3:02:291st place. Hey man, I blame Tommy.
- 3:02:31It's my fault. Hey Errol, that means you stay
- 3:02:33king. Oh the hell.
- 3:02:35I love Lisa AM. Java takes it up the ass.
- 3:02:41Niffen's running away, ladies and gentlemen.
- 3:02:45Now the real question What would have happened if Niffin was the
- 3:02:46deciding vote? I think Niffin would have gone.
- 3:02:51We would still, we would still be here.
- 3:02:53He would still be like discerning what's going on.
- 3:02:57After he checks out Abdul Carter's Internet search
- 3:03:00history. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 3:03:05we call this. What's that smell?
- 3:03:08Hold up, what is that smell? What's that smell?
- 3:03:16Wow. You don't see that.
- 3:03:18Everyday. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 3:03:20it's pretty simple how we play this game.
- 3:03:22It's really, we tell you a story and we tell you what it smells
- 3:03:26like and hopefully it doesn't smell like anything.
- 3:03:30Speedy, you know, pulls out of his ass because he pulls these
- 3:03:33weird things out of his ass, probably writes it down on a
- 3:03:36piece of paper so we can get the answer down.
- 3:03:38That's fast anyways, all right, let's hope he doesn't pull
- 3:03:42something really out of his ass because it might be a hairy one.
- 3:03:45Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to go.
- 3:03:49I'm going to say fish. I'm going to go Speedy.
- 3:03:52I'm going to go poops. I'm going to go Jared.
- 3:03:54I'm going to go Jabba. I'm going to go me.
- 3:03:56All right, let's get the music going for What's that smell?
- 3:04:01What's that smell? Blow my back up.
- 3:04:05I'm going to start with my brother-in-law who was on the
- 3:04:10show a couple months ago, his favorite team, Penn State, and a
- 3:04:15little comments made by former Steelers quarterback Ben
- 3:04:19Roethlisberger. Apparently he decided that it's
- 3:04:23time for Mike Tomlin. I don't know, maybe to just
- 3:04:27reset. And he offered the idea that he
- 3:04:30should be coaching Penn State University next year, staying in
- 3:04:34the state that he's already in and switching over to college,
- 3:04:37even though it's something Tomlin said he would never do.
- 3:04:40I don't know if it's such a bad idea.
- 3:04:44And to me, I think that might be exactly what the doctor ordered
- 3:04:47for Penn State for sure. If Tomlin wants to do it, he
- 3:04:51seems like the type of guy that would dominate at that level in
- 3:04:54the recruiting phase and all those things.
- 3:04:56Again, if he wants to do it. But does he want to do it?
- 3:05:00He's still able with this, what most of us think, not a very
- 3:05:05good roster in the Pittsburgh, able to get that team going so
- 3:05:11they're over 500. He can do it with a bad team.
- 3:05:14That's the sign of a legendary coach.
- 3:05:16He's a Hall of Fame coach. We need to make sure we
- 3:05:19understand that this is a Hall of Fame coach already.
- 3:05:22He doesn't have to do this, but Bill Belichick tried to do it
- 3:05:26and he's not being successful. It's really interesting to see
- 3:05:30if Mike Tomlin rise to that challenge.
- 3:05:32So I looked up what things smell like the most in Penn State
- 3:05:36University for Mike Tomlin, and here it is natural and is AI.
- 3:05:41Of course, in campus specific smells, the first one cow
- 3:05:44manure, agricultural roots, the farm smell can drift on the
- 3:05:48campus. Bradford pear trees.
- 3:05:51Certain trees on campus have been described as having an
- 3:05:53unpleasant odor. Some like into Seminole fluid
- 3:05:57mixed with Bisquick. And then there is O de Penn
- 3:06:01State, a fragrance company that once developed scents to evoke
- 3:06:04the campus. It was described as having
- 3:06:07vanilla, lilac and rose while the Cologne had blue Cypress and
- 3:06:11cracked some of that pep. All I got for.
- 3:06:19You all right so actually for the second straight week I have
- 3:06:21a what's that smell related to a similar theme as the person who
- 3:06:24went before me so scoops you it we both have the spitters that
- 3:06:26one week and fish. We both have a Penn State team
- 3:06:29but it's the Penn State versus crumble cookies incident because
- 3:06:34of BYU. Apparently their CEO and Jason
- 3:06:37McGowan is a big BYU booster and the report saying he was a big
- 3:06:42reason factoring to their coach and Kalani Sakate getting an
- 3:06:45extension from BYU when he was the favorite to take the Penn
- 3:06:48State job. So this led to a bunch of funny
- 3:06:51things after that. So you had the barstool Penn
- 3:06:53State Twitter page going, oh, our Penn State Creamer, which by
- 3:06:56the way, does seem like a good place, is better than crumble
- 3:06:59cookies. There was James Franklin at his
- 3:07:02Virginia Tech, I guess, opening press conference, something like
- 3:07:05that. They serve crumble cookies as a
- 3:07:06dessert for that. And then the best one of all,
- 3:07:09BYU's actually sent to the front of the Penn State offices for
- 3:07:14the football facility, some crumble cookies right at the
- 3:07:17door. So a bunch of pain is involved
- 3:07:19in that whole feud, which is very funny.
- 3:07:21Kalai Tecate, one of my favorite coach in the college football,
- 3:07:23by the way, and he stays with BYU and Penn State's still
- 3:07:25searching. So we have a little twofold for
- 3:07:27what's that smell. For BYU, it smells like a
- 3:07:30brownie batter crumble cookies fresh out of the oven, and for
- 3:07:33Penn State it smells like a 10 year old crumble cookies for
- 3:07:37when Christian Hackenberg was playing scooped up with the dog
- 3:07:40crap of the Eagles. Super Bowl championship parade
- 3:07:43you. Are one weird.
- 3:07:48Person so vivid. I was next.
- 3:07:54I think I'm next, Right? All right, so going over to the
- 3:07:58world of wrestling, I'm going to be talking about 53 year old
- 3:08:02over 7 feet weighing almost £400.
- 3:08:05The big show, The big show, Paul White.
- 3:08:10Yes, exactly. Mr. Paul himself, you know, over
- 3:08:14the weekend he came out on Mr. Sam Robinson's podcast and Not
- 3:08:17Sam podcast talking about how he thinks he has a couple more
- 3:08:21years in him. You know, he's not ready to lay
- 3:08:22stuff the boots just yet. He's not calling on retirement.
- 3:08:25And for the love of God, someone who loved to watch the Big Show
- 3:08:28as a kid growing up, please retire, Paul.
- 3:08:30I mean, it doesn't look, man. I remember seeing Big Show come
- 3:08:34out on an event over in the Coliseum back many, many years
- 3:08:37ago. Probably the pandemic era, a
- 3:08:39little bit before the pandemic. So I want to say 2019 Big Show
- 3:08:43walking to the ring back then, he looked like a wrestler that
- 3:08:46was wrestling for 30 years back then and I was already six years
- 3:08:49ago. So something that was a little
- 3:08:52more recently, he went out on an AEW event and in the AW event, I
- 3:08:56try to find a picture. I wasn't quick enough with it
- 3:08:58though. But however, at this AW event,
- 3:09:01him standing up straight, his knees look absolutely terrible,
- 3:09:05pointing in every single direction but straight.
- 3:09:08So for the love of God, you know someone like as big as big show
- 3:09:11the weight that's been carrying. On his for.
- 3:09:13The 30 years that he's been wrestling, I hope that someone
- 3:09:16like him retires and transitions to more of.
- 3:09:19An exactly. Sort of what Mark Henry's done
- 3:09:21in the last couple years, he's been a bit of a bit of a coach,
- 3:09:23a bit of a trainer for the wrestling squads, like AW,
- 3:09:26whatnot. So Scoop sits on the sitter.
- 3:09:29I think that's how Big Shows should transition his career
- 3:09:32instead of still wrestling like he thinks he can.
- 3:09:34So what does it smell like if he does get in the ring?
- 3:09:37I promise you that match is going to smell like the crap
- 3:09:40slash diarrhea or whatever it was that the Big Show took that
- 3:09:44time when he stole Eddie Guerrero's Mexican food.
- 3:09:46My rear end is. Burning.
- 3:09:48It would be after eating Mexican food all right.
- 3:09:52All right, Jared, let's get it, man.
- 3:09:54OK. Announced today was the cast for
- 3:09:58this new American biographical sports film on John Madden.
- 3:10:03So it's going to be self-titled Madden.
- 3:10:05The cast was the craziest thing I've ever seen.
- 3:10:08Every different name crazy and last, first we got Shane Gillis
- 3:10:11in an undisclosed role. We've got Christian Bale as Al
- 3:10:14Davis, John Mulaney of Tripp Hawkins, the EA guy, Catherine
- 3:10:19Hannas, Virginia Madden, Sienna Miller as Carol Davis.
- 3:10:21And in the starring role as John Madden is Nicholas Cage.
- 3:10:26What it got? Great before.
- 3:10:30I could not believe what I was reading.
- 3:10:34He put on. What's that?
- 3:10:34Smell. And now I've gone mad at
- 3:10:37Thanksgiving. I'm going to say it smells like
- 3:10:38turducken because I don't know what to expect.
- 3:10:41But I know it's going to be weird, and I know I'm going to
- 3:10:43try. It did Johnny Depp get him that
- 3:10:45that role. Me.
- 3:10:48I I did a story on this as soon as I found out about it.
- 3:10:53It had to be a year ago. I think we've been talking.
- 3:10:56We did talk about it on the show when it first came out, I think.
- 3:10:58I don't know if you use it as what's.
- 3:10:59That 100% as soon as the first set photos came out I got on it
- 3:11:03it. Doesn't make sense.
- 3:11:07It's going to be. Interesting movie.
- 3:11:09Christian Bale's fantastic actor.
- 3:11:12And I love Christian American. Psycho.
- 3:11:14American Psycho, he was great. Batman All right, Java.
- 3:11:19You're up, man. Batman.
- 3:11:19Too, Yeah. I want to go to something that
- 3:11:22happened about, it was about a well, not even a week ago where
- 3:11:26Kevin Petula's house was burglarized as he was gone.
- 3:11:29And yeah, it was eggs, whatever. But man, you can tell me I suck.
- 3:11:34You can tell this, and I've said this before, but like when you
- 3:11:36do, like when my family's home, I don't care if it's eggs or
- 3:11:39whatever, but that's just like crossing the line.
- 3:11:42And I obviously he's not a hermit.
- 3:11:44People know where he lives. I'm assuming it's probably a
- 3:11:46nice neighborhood. I'm sure he's not on the streets
- 3:11:49of Philly. And that for me is just, it
- 3:11:53crosses the line when family comes in that smells like just
- 3:11:56people just not having some feel like, hey, you know what?
- 3:12:00This is my house. Like, do anything you want to
- 3:12:03me, but let's have a little respect and whatever and dignity
- 3:12:06for my family. And it smells like people just
- 3:12:09running around with dirty, shitty draws, just being
- 3:12:13miserable because they're Eagles fans.
- 3:12:15He tastes himself. Hi, ladies and gentlemen.
- 3:12:22My final, what's that smell is it's definitely diarrhea down
- 3:12:26their leg. I'm going to go with him and I,
- 3:12:29I did this two years ago and I went with this team to win the
- 3:12:32national championship. They came short and I'm going to
- 3:12:35go with them this year. I'm going to go with Purdue.
- 3:12:38I think Purdue has a chance this year to win the national
- 3:12:41championship 8 and O I'm not going with Shire.
- 3:12:44I'm not going with Duke because I don't trust Shire in the big
- 3:12:47game, but I do trust Purdue. I'm going with Purdue.
- 3:12:50They've been one of the first of all, they're a great they're
- 3:12:53every year they're have the most size, they can rebound.
- 3:12:57They're the I think they're the best defensive rebounding team
- 3:12:59in all of college basketball. They're one of the best
- 3:13:02offensive rebounding teams in the league and they're great
- 3:13:04shooting team. I expect them to go all the way
- 3:13:07to the Final Four this year unless some surprise thing
- 3:13:10happens. I wouldn't be surprised if they
- 3:13:12go undefeated all season long. This is a really, really good
- 3:13:15team and very well coached. One of the more underrated
- 3:13:17coaches in all of college basketball.
- 3:13:20So I'm going Purdue to win the national championship.
- 3:13:27Unless something. Weird ten baby.
- 3:13:29Unless something weird happens. One of our friends in Tobin
- 3:13:32Anderson contributed to that three years ago.
- 3:13:34And I want to tell you what it smells like.
- 3:13:35It doesn't smell nothing but beautiful roses not coming out
- 3:13:40of Speedy's ass. So there you go.
- 3:13:43So anything away from Speedy's ass is probably civil and safe.
- 3:13:48So stay away from his ass. Anyways, it was a wonderful
- 3:13:51show. I I will say that the content
- 3:13:53was great. By the way, thank you to Charlie
- 3:13:55Sloes for joining us. He was sensational.
- 3:13:57We really appreciate him. He gave us some great takes and
- 3:14:01baseball is nothing without Charlie Sloes and the job * And
- 3:14:06we could add Nick Goody on that one.
- 3:14:07But Nikki is a coaching some young baseball.
- 3:14:11But we'll have Nick Goody on next week.
- 3:14:13So thank you to all the fans on all the social medias by guys
- 3:14:16that reached out to me during the show wondering what happened
- 3:14:19to Quinton Jammer. You guys know now.
- 3:14:21So I apologize to the fans if I upsetted them on not getting the
- 3:14:26interview out again. We'll get Quinton Jammer on the
- 3:14:30show. I'll get a chance to have a
- 3:14:31conversation with them and hopefully clean up whatever
- 3:14:35happened in in any kind of way. That's why when you get a guest
- 3:14:39on the show, he's supposed to have a conversation on what he
- 3:14:43wants to talk about if if he's going to if he doesn't like the
- 3:14:47offset stuff that we, you know, we usually do on this show.
- 3:14:50That's what I would say on that. And hopefully he's not in his
- 3:14:53car the next time he comes on the show.
- 3:14:55I hate that. But anyways, again, thank you to
- 3:14:58all the Spotify Apple fans, the YouTube fans, the TikTok fans,
- 3:15:04the Twitter fans, the X fans, all the fans on all our show
- 3:15:08Instagram, all the fans following us, keep following us
- 3:15:12on, keep downloading us and keep enjoying the content that we put
- 3:15:16out. I again, I have a story up there
- 3:15:18about New York radio and I think people should check it out.
- 3:15:22It is a great it's a great read. All right.
- 3:15:25And if you like New York sports and you're wondering why New
- 3:15:28York sports sucks so much, maybe you should read that.
- 3:15:33But anyways, I, I have to laugh because I, I enjoy the show and
- 3:15:37I, I think our show is one of the best in, in the country.
- 3:15:40And I think if nobody is tuned into it or had a chance to tune
- 3:15:44into it, it doesn't know what we do on this show.
- 3:15:46Well, now you know, and you know that we, we, we could be
- 3:15:50outlandishly crazy and funny at the same time, but we know our
- 3:15:54stuff. We know our sports and we have a
- 3:15:55lot of fun doing it. So we appreciate all the fans
- 3:15:58that stand by us and listen to us and watch us and tune into us
- 3:16:02every single week. Yeah.
- 3:16:04What do we have on? Who do we have on next week?
- 3:16:06So Nathan was able to get one of Connor Harris.
- 3:16:09He's a player for the Savannah Bananas.
- 3:16:10He'll be joining us Monday at at 8:45.
- 3:16:13I'm going to try to get our friend Adam Vyrant, the coach as
- 3:16:15well. I'm going to see if he'll join.
- 3:16:16He'll come as well if if his player is coming on.
- 3:16:18So he'll be on Monday and then on Wednesday.
- 3:16:20Matt Gage, he pitched this season as a relief pitcher,
- 3:16:22played for the Giants and the Tigers this season.
- 3:16:24He'll be joining us on Wednesday at 9:00.
- 3:16:27That'll be fun. A little gagey.
- 3:16:29Well, it's not Gage, you know, just engage or whatever.
- 3:16:32Anyways, he's a football player. I know, I know.
- 3:16:35Anyways, yeah, it's been a great one.
- 3:16:38Again, fans, if you missed any of the show, go check it out.
- 3:16:41Go check it out on Job on the mouth, Spotify and Apple
- 3:16:45YouTube. We'll have clips you know by.
- 3:16:48By the way, Jared is one more week with us, right?
- 3:16:50Jared? I think it's one more week with
- 3:16:52us. Yeah, I believe that's right.
- 3:16:55Yeah, and and and Jared, I don't know, Jared, you could come on
- 3:16:57whenever you want. So it's not one more week.
- 3:16:59If you want to join us whenever you want to join us, you could
- 3:17:01be a stay there. Two more.
- 3:17:03I'm sorry. Two more weeks.
- 3:17:04Two more weeks like a. That one over like a Fardon
- 3:17:06church. As it always does.
- 3:17:08Anyways, again, we appreciate you guys.
- 3:17:10We love you. Stay tuned on Friday.
- 3:17:14We've got another show, Speedy. Friday.
- 3:17:18Oh, I'm sorry today. Oh, tomorrow I'm.
- 3:17:20Sorry. Thursday game on with Josh
- 3:17:22Silverberg and probably his father at 6:00 PM.
- 3:17:25You know, sports ready. Can I give him, what is his
- 3:17:27father's name? Nelson.
- 3:17:28Nelson. Nellie Nell.
- 3:17:30We love Nelson. He's a Green Bay Packer fan too,
- 3:17:33and a Boston Brewer fan. How does that match anyways?
- 3:17:36Nelson. With a Mets fan mixed in there.
- 3:17:38It doesn't make any sense. It's not a fan.
- 3:17:39A Knick fan. Anyways, thank you.
- 3:17:41We'll talk to you next week. Good night.
- 3:17:43It's the worldwide sports radio network, radio network, radio
- 3:17:47network.
