  cross and the Psalms. Have you ever been mocked for
• 0:14
  trusting God? Maybe people rolled their eyes
• 0:16
  at your faith, questioned why you believe, or made you feel
• 0:20
  small for holding on to hope. That sting of being
• 0:22
  misunderstood can make you wonder if it's worth standing
• 0:25
  firm. What's incredible is that
• 0:28
  Scripture shows us this pain is not unfamiliar to God, and it
• 0:32
  was written into the story long before it happened.
• 0:34
  Psalm 22 opens a window into suffering that feels eerily
• 0:38
  familiar. Written centuries before Jesus
• 0:41
  walked the earth, it says All who see me mock me.
• 0:44
  They make mouths at me, they wag their heads.
• 0:47
  He trusts in the Lord. Let him deliver him.
• 0:49
  Let him rescue him, for he delights in him.
• 0:52
  That's not vague poetry, that's specific.
• 0:55
  That's the sound of ridicule, the sting of public shame, the
• 0:58
  cruelty of people turning faith into a joke.
• 1:00
  And then Psalm 22, verse 18 says they divide my garments among
• 1:04
  them, and for my clothing they cast lots.
• 1:07
  Now listen to Matthew chapter 27.
• 1:10
  It tells us that when Jesus was crucified, the soldiers divided
• 1:13
  his garments by casting lots. The same details, the same
• 1:17
  actions, the same mockery. This wasn't coincidence, this
• 1:21
  was fulfillment. God had been telling the story
• 1:23
  of the cross long before nails ever pierced Jesus hands.
• 1:27
  That matters because it means Jesus suffering wasn't random.
• 1:31
  It wasn't a tragic accident or a plan gone wrong.
• 1:34
  It was part of a redemptive story written with precision and
• 1:37
  purpose. Jesus knew the mockery was
• 1:39
  coming. He knew the pain, He knew the
• 1:42
  shame, and still he stayed on the cross.
• 1:45
  He didn't come down to prove a point.
• 1:46
  He didn't silence the crowd. He endured it all because love
• 1:50
  held him there. When you feel misunderstood or
• 1:52
  mocked, remember this. Jesus knows that pain from the
• 1:55
  inside. He understands what it feels
• 1:58
  like to be laughed at for trusting God.
• 2:00
  And his response wasn't bitterness or revenge.
• 2:03
  It was obedience and love. Through his suffering, God was
• 2:07
  accomplishing salvation. Through what looked like defeat,
• 2:10
  God was bringing victory. The cross shows us that God
• 2:13
  keeps His word even when the path includes suffering.
• 2:16
  Every detail fulfilled reminds us that God is faithful,
• 2:20
  intentional, and deeply loving. Jesus chose the cross for you.
• 2:24
  He endured shame so you could have hope.
• 2:26
  He carried pain so you could be healed, and He stayed faithful
• 2:29
  so you could be free. So when life feels hard, when
• 2:33
  faith feels costly, and when people don't understand you,
• 2:36
  remember the cross written in the Psalms and fulfilled in
• 2:38
  Jesus. God's plan is bigger than the
• 2:41
  pain, and His love for you is deeper than you can imagine.
• 2:44
  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 2:47
  showing me that Your word is true and that Your plan is
• 2:49
  faithful from beginning to end. Thank you for Jesus who endured
• 2:53
  the cross and the shame because of His love for me.
• 2:56
  When I feel misunderstood or mocked, help me remember His
• 2:59
  example and stand firm in faith. Strengthen my heart to trust You
• 3:03
  even in hard moments, and remind me of the hope I have because of
• 3:07
  the cross in Jesus name, Amen. What if the ache you feel for
• 3:12
  more is actually God calling you deeper?

  Hurry to help me deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life

  from the power of the dog. Save me from the lion's mouth.

  Yes, you have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen.

  I will declare your name to my brothers among the assembly.

  I will praise you, you who fear Yahweh, praise Him, all you

  descendants of Jacob, glorify Him.

  Stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel.

  For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the

  afflicted, neither has He hidden his face from Him.

  But when he cried to Him, He heard.

  My praise of you comes in the great assembly.

  I will pay my vows before those who fear Him.

  The humble shall eat and be satisfied.

  They shall praise Yahweh who seek after Him.

  Let your hearts live forever. All the ends of the earth shall
• 6:53
  remember and turn to Yahweh. All the relatives of the
• 6:56
  nation's shall worship before you, for the Kingdom is
• 6:59
  Yahweh's. He is the ruler over the
• 7:01
  nation's. All the rich ones of the earth
• 7:04
  shall eat and worship. All those who go down to the
• 7:06
  dust shall bow before Him. Even he who can't keep his soul
• 7:10
  alive, posterity shall serve Him.
• 7:13
  Future generations shall be told about the Lord.
• 7:15
  They shall come and shall declare His righteousness to a
• 7:18
  people that shall be born, for He has done it.
• 7:21
  Matthew chapter 27 World English Bible Now when mourning had

  come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took
• 7:28
  counsel against Jesus to put him to death.
• 7:31
  They bound him, led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius
• 7:34
  Pilate, the governor. Then Judas, who betrayed him
• 7:37
  when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse and
• 7:41
  brought back the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and
• 7:44
  elders, saying, I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood.
• 7:48
  But they said, what is that to us?
• 7:51
  You see to it, He threw down the pieces of silver in the
• 7:54
  sanctuary and departed. Then he went away and hanged
• 7:57
  himself. The chief priests took the
• 7:59
  pieces of silver and said it's not lawful to put them into the
• 8:02
  treasury, since it is the price of blood.
• 8:05
  They took counsel and bought the Potter's field with them to bury
• 8:08
  strangers in. Therefore that field has been
• 8:11
  called the field of blood to this day.
• 8:13
  Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was
• 8:16
  fulfilled, saying, They took the 30 pieces of silver, the price
• 8:20
  of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the
• 8:23
  children of Israel priced, and they gave them for the Potter's
• 8:26
  field, as the Lord commanded me. Now Jesus stood before the
• 8:30
  governor, and the governor asked him, saying, Are you the king of
• 8:33
  the Jews? Jesus said to him, So you say,
• 8:36
  when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered
• 8:39
  nothing. Then Pillate said to him, Don't
• 8:42
  you hear how many things they testify against you?
• 8:45
  He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor
• 8:48
  marvelled greatly. Now at the feast the governor
• 8:51
  was accustomed to release to the multitude 1 prisoner whom they
• 8:54
  desired. They had then a notable prisoner
• 8:57
  called Barabbas. When therefore they were
• 8:59
  gathered together, Pillate said to them, Whom do you want me to
• 9:03
  release to you? Barabbas or Jesus, who is called
• 9:06
  Christ? For he knew that because of envy
• 9:08
  they had delivered him up while he was sitting on the judgement
• 9:11
  seat. His wife sent to him saying,
• 9:13
  Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have
• 9:16
  suffered many things today in a dream because of him.
• 9:19
  Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes
• 9:22
  to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
• 9:25
  But the governor answered them, Which of the two do you want me
• 9:27
  to release to you? They said Barabbas.
• 9:30
  Pillate said to them, What then shall I do to Jesus who is
• 9:33
  called Christ? They all said to him, let him be
• 9:35
  crucified. But the governor said, Why, what
• 9:39
  evil has he done? But they cried out exceedingly,
• 9:41
  saying, Let him be crucified. So when Pillate saw that nothing
• 9:46
  was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting,
• 9:49
  he took water and washed his hands before the multitude,
• 9:52
  saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person.
• 9:56
  You see to it all the people answered, May his blood be on us
• 9:59
  and on our children. Then he released Barabbas to
• 10:02
  them. But Jesus he flogged and
• 10:04
  delivered to be crucified. Then the governor's soldiers
• 10:07
  took Jesus into the praetorium and gathered the whole Garrison
• 10:10
  together against him. They stripped him and put a
• 10:13
  scarlet robe on him. They braided a crown of thorns
• 10:16
  and put it on his head and a Reed in his right hand.
• 10:19
  And they kneeled down before him and mocked him, saying Hail King
• 10:23
  of the Jews. They spat on him and took the
• 10:25
  Reed and struck him on the head. When they had mocked him, they
• 10:28
  took the robe off him and put his clothes on him, and led him
• 10:31
  away to crucify Him. As they came out they found a
• 10:35
  man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go
• 10:38
  with them, that he might carry his cross.
• 10:40
  When they came to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, the
• 10:44
  place of a skull, they gave him sour wine to drink, mixed with
• 10:47
  gall. When he had tasted it, he would
• 10:49
  not drink. When they had crucified him,
• 10:52
  they divided his clothing among them, casting lots, and they sat
• 10:55
  and watched him. There they set up over his head
• 10:57
  the accusation against Him, written, This is Jesus, the King
• 11:01
  of the Jews. Then there were two robbers
• 11:03
  crucified with Him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
• 11:07
  Those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and
• 11:10
  saying, You who destroy the temple and build it in three
• 11:13
  days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come
• 11:16
  down from the cross. Likewise the chief priests, also
• 11:20
  mocking with the scribes, the Pharisees and the elders, said
• 11:23
  He saved others, but he can't save himself.
• 11:26
  If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now
• 11:29
  and we will believe in Him. He trusts in God.
• 11:32
  Let God deliver him now if he wants him, for he said, I am the
• 11:36
  Son of God. The robbers also who were
• 11:38
  crucified with him, cast on him the same reproach.
• 11:41
  Now from the 6th hour there was darkness over all the land,
• 11:45
  until the 9th hour. About the 9th hour Jesus cried
• 11:48
  with a loud voice saying, Eli, Eli, Lima savage thani, that is
• 11:52
  my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
• 11:55
  Some of them who stood there when they heard it said, This
• 11:57
  man is calling Elijah. Immediately one of them ran and
• 12:01
  took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, put it on a Reed, and
• 12:04
  gave him a drink. The rest said, Let him be, let's
• 12:07
  see whether Elijah comes to save him.
• 12:09
  Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his
• 12:12
  spirit. Behold, the veil of the temple
• 12:15
  was torn in two from the top to the bottom, the earthquaked and
• 12:18
  the rocks were split. The tombs were opened, and many
• 12:22
  bodies of the Saints who had fallen asleep were raised and
• 12:25
  coming out of the tombs. After his resurrection, they
• 12:28
  entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
• 12:31
  Now the centurion and those who were with him, watching Jesus
• 12:34
  when they saw the earthquake and the things that were done, were
• 12:37
  terrified, saying truly this was the Son of God.
• 12:40
  Many women were there watching from afar who had followed Jesus
• 12:44
  from Galilee, serving Him. Among them were Mary Magdalene,
• 12:47
  Mary the mother of James and Jose is, and the mother of the
• 12:51
  sons of Zebedee. When evening had come, a rich
• 12:54
  man from Arimathea named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus
• 12:58
  disciple, came. This man went to Pillate and
• 13:01
  asked for Jesus body. Then Pillate commanded the body
• 13:04
  to be given up. Joseph took the body and wrapped
• 13:07
  it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb,
• 13:11
  which he had cut out in the rock.
• 13:12
  Then he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb and
• 13:15
  departed. Mary Magdalene was there, and
• 13:18
  the other Mary sitting opposite the tomb.
• 13:21
  Now on the next day, which was the day after the preparation
• 13:24
  day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together
• 13:27
  to pillate, saying, Sir, we remember what that deceiver said
• 13:31
  while he was still alive. After three days I will rise
• 13:34
  again. Command therefore that the tomb
• 13:37
  be made secure until the 3rd day, lest perhaps his disciples
• 13:40
  come at night and steal him away and tell the people he is risen
• 13:44
  from the dead and the last deception will be worse than the
• 13:47
  first. Pillate said to them, you have a
• 13:49
  guard, go make it as secure as you can.
• 13:52
  So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing
• 13:55
