- 6:29Speaker 8: I feel like I'm pretty knowledgeable at most things sports,
- 6:33Speaker 8: but what I don't understand are contracts. I don't understand
- 6:36Speaker 8: when people say they sign this contract, this is guaranteed.
- 6:40Speaker 8: That's not guaranteed. They got bonus. It's like, I never
- 6:42Speaker 8: really understand what that means. Like recently the Cowboys they say, uh,
- 6:47Speaker 8: we're gonna reconstruct Dax contract. I don't understand he signed
- 6:50Speaker 8: a big contract. Restructure you mean, oh, is that the restructure?
- 6:53Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 6:54Speaker 8: Like what does that mean? They're going to restructure and
- 6:56Speaker 8: it sounds cool. Restructure it. We're gonna get more money
- 6:58Speaker 8: from it. Cowboys are gonna be able to get someone else.
- 7:00Speaker 8: I love it, but I don't know what it means.
- 7:03Speaker 8: So can you explain it to me?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Basically, the restructuring means they're just gonna pay it differently
- 7:07Speaker 1: through either signing bonus or salary through different years. But
- 7:10Speaker 1: I can Yeah, Dak does get the money, yes, so,
- 7:13Speaker 1: but let's do the first part of it. The first
- 7:15Speaker 1: part is guaranteed money. Where it sucks to be an
- 7:19Speaker 1: NFL player versus a Major League Baseball player or an
- 7:21Speaker 1: NBA player. Is NFL is not guaranteed like they literally,
- 7:25Speaker 1: what you're guaranteed is basically the signing bonus that you
- 7:29Speaker 1: get at the beginning and you get thirty five million guaranteed.
- 7:33Speaker 1: That's that's basically the signing bonus, and they can spread
- 7:36Speaker 1: it out, but go ahead. The rest are what clauses.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They can cut you whoa and not pay use. Yeah. No,
- 7:41Speaker 1: that's why it's difficult to make money in the NFL
- 7:45Speaker 1: over a long period of time because it's such a
- 7:47Speaker 1: physical sport. You get hurt, and it's why they don't
- 7:49Speaker 1: like guaranteeing money. Look at the Browns. They gave Deshaun
- 7:52Speaker 1: Watson a fully guaranteed five billion dollar contract and he
- 7:55Speaker 1: sucks and they can't get out of it. It is
- 7:57Speaker 1: the first time that it ever happened, So the guarantee
- 8:02Speaker 1: is going to be mostly the signing bonus. Now, restructuring
- 8:05Speaker 1: can happen in different ways, and now that's converting like
- 8:07Speaker 1: salary into signing bonus a lot of times, and it's
- 8:11Speaker 1: just moving money around open up money in other years.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I'm not sure about the deck numbers specifically, but I
- 8:17Speaker 1: can give you an example. I wrote this down if
- 8:20Speaker 1: a player has a ten million dollar base salary. I
- 8:22Speaker 1: like using tens because my brain works in slices. A
- 8:25Speaker 1: ten million dollars.
- 8:26Speaker 8: I have dyscalculus, so easier the better.
- 8:28Speaker 1: If a player has a ten million dollars salary, the
- 8:31Speaker 1: team can take eight million of that and put it
- 8:34Speaker 1: into a signing bonus, so we can give you ten dollars.
- 8:39Speaker 8: That's even better for me.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Okay, So let's say your your salary is ten dollars, ballin,
- 8:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna go. You know what I'm gonna take. You're
- 8:46Speaker 1: still gonna get all the money, but I'm gonna do
- 8:49Speaker 1: eight dollars of that into a signing bonus. But now
- 8:51Speaker 1: what I can do is spread that eight million bucks sorry,
- 8:54Speaker 1: eight dollars dollars over three years, so you're guaranteed to
- 8:59Speaker 1: get the money. And you've agreed to this because you
- 9:01Speaker 1: want to make room for somebody else. So now I
- 9:02Speaker 1: can give you, you know, two point five this year,
- 9:06Speaker 1: two point five next year up until that eight million,
- 9:09Speaker 1: which I think it's actually two point six to seven
- 9:10Speaker 1: and something like that.
- 9:11Speaker 8: Okay, time out, time out, yep, So you said that
- 9:13Speaker 8: I have to I've okayed that. Yes, in this scenario,
- 9:17Speaker 8: do they have to Okay, does a player have to
- 9:19Speaker 8: okay this?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yes, because they can't just go in and wiggle with
- 9:21Speaker 1: someone's contract. That's what I thought, and what that does
- 9:24Speaker 1: is it just freeze cap space. So if I owe
- 9:28Speaker 1: you ten dollars and you're getting it this year, let's
- 9:30Speaker 1: say have it. We have thirty dollars for the whole
- 9:31Speaker 1: show for me to pay, and I owe you ten dollars,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna go. You know, what, would you mind? You're
- 9:37Speaker 1: still gonna get your money if we do eight dollars
- 9:40Speaker 1: that is a signing bonus, but we spread out over
- 9:43Speaker 1: three years, so really this year you're only getting two
- 9:46Speaker 1: point sixty seven of it, which allows another five dollars
- 9:50Speaker 1: or so to buy somebody else.
- 9:51Speaker 8: Yeah, which in turn is going to make you look
- 9:53Speaker 8: better because the team's going to be better, hopefully.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Correct, that's the theory. Like, I am still going to
- 10:00Speaker 1: get my money, but we're going to turn it into
- 10:04Speaker 1: signing bonus money and you can spread that out to
- 10:09Speaker 1: like give relief this year.
- 10:11Speaker 8: Okay, this is already helping me. Like I'm now understanding
- 10:14Speaker 8: a little better because in my mind I was like, oh, well,
- 10:16Speaker 8: now they're just taking money away from DAK or CD
- 10:20Speaker 8: trying to make that cap space bigger. But no, they
- 10:23Speaker 8: had to okay this, and that's okay with him. That
- 10:27Speaker 8: makes me feel better about it.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Another way that they could do it is instead of
- 10:30Speaker 1: a player getting cut not because they're bad or old,
- 10:33Speaker 1: but because they make too much money. So if there's
- 10:36Speaker 1: a veteran, let's do ten dollars again. Yeah, let's say
- 10:39Speaker 1: you're a veteran and I'm like, man, you're good, but
- 10:42Speaker 1: you're also old. I don't feel like you're worth ten
- 10:46Speaker 1: dollars over the next few years.
- 10:47Speaker 8: That's rude, but I get it.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Okay, So what if I give you six dollars and
- 10:54Speaker 1: I give you six dollars in incentives, meaning if you
- 10:57Speaker 1: show up to the show this many times, if you
- 10:59Speaker 1: have this many laugh out loud segments, if you said so,
- 11:02Speaker 1: you have an opportunity to make more because of incentives.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I'm also not going to cut you, but you're not
- 11:10Speaker 1: gonna have it all guaranteed, but it's gonna be a
- 11:12Speaker 1: way for you to stay on the team.
- 11:13Speaker 8: Okay, that makes perfect sense. Now, Now, like you know
- 11:16Speaker 8: you have running backs like say Saquon I know that
- 11:19Speaker 8: he was trying to say Saquon had if he broke
- 11:23Speaker 8: a thousand yards, he gets an incentive. Now, if you're
- 11:26Speaker 8: at nine hundred and ninety eight and the coach sits
- 11:30Speaker 8: like do teams ever be like, hey man, if he
- 11:32Speaker 8: gets two more yards, like we're gonna say the.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Cowboys did it this year two. I'm forgetting who, but
- 11:39Speaker 1: the Cowboys sat somebody because it seemed like he was
- 11:42Speaker 1: going to break a record. Yes, yes, Cooper Rush, right,
- 11:44Speaker 1: it was it Cooper Rush. Yeah, so.
- 11:48Speaker 8: Dying that's dirty.
- 11:49Speaker 1: That's right because Trey Lance was put in because Cooper
- 11:52Speaker 1: Rush was gonna hit one of his one.
- 11:55Speaker 8: Of them bonus senses. That is dirty.
- 11:57Speaker 1: It's dirty. Dog. And you have people that maybe not
- 11:59Speaker 1: even an incentive base, but like a Saquon who was
- 12:02Speaker 1: going to break the record. Yeah, and he was like,
- 12:03Speaker 1: I'm not going to play. I don't want to play now.
- 12:05Speaker 1: That wasn't incentive base. That was breaking a record and
- 12:07Speaker 1: he just decided not to play himself.
- 12:08Speaker 8: Okay, I just used that as an example.
- 12:09Speaker 1: But the Cowboys you brought up an example, and it
- 12:11Speaker 1: was the wrong example because your boys.
- 12:14Speaker 8: Yeah Cooper right now read do you understand this?
- 12:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I understand it.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I can give you a couple examples. Mahomes Is twenty
- 12:20Speaker 1: twenty three restructure. The Chiefs restructured his contract. They converted
- 12:24Speaker 1: since I've explained that his base salary into a basically
- 12:27Speaker 1: a two hundred and ten million dollar bonus, like a
- 12:30Speaker 1: guaranteed payout, like a signing bonus. So they were able
- 12:33Speaker 1: to move that money around and they can always continue
- 12:36Speaker 1: to restructure it as long as the player allows. They'll
- 12:38Speaker 1: always get the money. Yeah, but they may not get
- 12:40Speaker 1: as much now. They may take a lot of it
- 12:42Speaker 1: earlier than later if they have plans for next year
- 12:45Speaker 1: in the year after, Like, if you know you're going
- 12:46Speaker 1: to suck this year, let's just pay you a whole
- 12:47Speaker 1: lot this year, but we want you to stay on
- 12:49Speaker 1: the team. So there's a lot of ways around it.
- 12:51Speaker 1: But it's just moving things. Okay, So they did that,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and then Aaron Rodgers took a pay cut to make
- 12:57Speaker 1: the Jets better.
- 12:58Speaker 8: That didn't work out, that's correct.
- 13:01Speaker 6: Yeah, that's memories, man, that's having a great Friday.
- 13:04Speaker 1: But it is everybody got hit sing man. Yeah, everybody
- 13:09Speaker 1: took a little shot there. Does that help at all?
- 13:11Speaker 8: It helps a lot. Yes, it helps me understand now,
- 13:15Speaker 8: which one of the sports that you compared, like, you know,
- 13:17Speaker 8: football is the only one that doesn't do guarantees.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Of the three major sports, Baseball and basketball you get paid.
- 13:22Speaker 8: So of the three major sports, sam an amazing athlete.
- 13:25Speaker 1: You want to be a basketball player.
- 13:26Speaker 8: Okay, explain to me why.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Less than one hundred games the sport is more popular
- 13:32Speaker 1: than baseball.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Guaranteed money and again that means that when I signed
- 13:38Speaker 8: my contract, you get it all like lumpsom.
- 13:41Speaker 1: No, no, no, but look at that is like the lottery.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Now you can now that in basketball too, they have,
- 13:46Speaker 1: uh if they have in the last couple of years
- 13:49Speaker 1: something called with their contracts. They have like levels the aprons, aprons,
- 13:54Speaker 1: thank you. So that's but you do get all your money.
- 13:56Speaker 1: So if you sign four years, two hundred and ten
- 14:00Speaker 1: million dollars, you get it all. Well, can they move money?
- 14:03Speaker 1: And in the same way NFL does a little bit
- 14:05Speaker 1: like put more back on this year. Yes, but you
- 14:07Speaker 1: get it all. Baseball you get it all. That's why
- 14:09Speaker 1: these guys signed fifteen year deals. Look at the Mets. Yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 1: so yes, yeah, they get all that money.
- 14:14Speaker 8: God, that's awesome.
- 14:15Speaker 1: NFL dollars you don't. You just get guaranteed and then
- 14:18Speaker 1: you continue to get what you get while you're there.
- 14:20Speaker 1: But if you were to like get to pick bas
- 14:22Speaker 1: it's not about your what you like playing the most.
- 14:24Speaker 1: But if like, financially, what's the best for me?
- 14:26Speaker 8: Basketball?
- 14:27Speaker 1: Basketball, because it's not one hundred and sixty two games,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you're inside, your money's guaranteed, there's less, your your face
- 14:37Speaker 1: is seen more because there's five people instead of nine
- 14:41Speaker 1: and the cameras on the whole court. So that's why
- 14:43Speaker 1: I would pick basketball. It's not my favorite sport to play.
- 14:49Speaker 1: If if it just got a love, probably pick baseball
- 14:51Speaker 1: to play. Yeah, I wouldn'tick FOOTBLL because money's not guaranteed.
- 14:55Speaker 8: But of those two and you just get beat up
- 14:57Speaker 8: every every game.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, lifespans of an athlete in football is a lot shorter.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Could that ever change? Meaning like as far as like
- 15:05Speaker 3: the contract stuff, like they.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Tried to change, like they've tried to have a new
- 15:08Speaker 1: like an agreement with the NFL. It's all about union
- 15:10Speaker 1: and what they can fight for, what the owners will
- 15:12Speaker 1: agree to. They'll have holdouts and strikes and all of
- 15:14Speaker 1: that factors in. Yes, but they will not allow guaranteed
- 15:16Speaker 1: money in football because you can get hurt so quickly.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Oh that makes sense, but it's why they want more
- 15:21Speaker 1: guaranteed money in football. Sure, that's why that's a big deal.
- 15:26Speaker 8: Got it? Like the Deebo Samuel deal? Like, so he
- 15:29Speaker 8: had money left over in his contract. What happens? Who
- 15:33Speaker 8: pays that? Or does no one pay that?
- 15:34Speaker 1: Once he's traded, the commanders pay it. So his contract
- 15:37Speaker 1: has to get paid. If they can't trade him, they
- 15:39Speaker 1: have to pay him, or they can cut him. They
- 15:42Speaker 1: still got to pay him, but they'll only take a
- 15:43Speaker 1: limited hit based on when they cut him. But they
- 15:45Speaker 1: trade them Commanders for a fifth round pick, and the
- 15:47Speaker 1: commanders have agreed. I think it's around twenty million bucks.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I don't have the exact number. Pay the rest of
- 15:51Speaker 1: his contract, that's part of it. You have to pay
- 15:53Speaker 1: his contract and in exchange the forty nine ers. One
- 15:57Speaker 1: don't have to pay that money anymore, and two they're
- 16:00Speaker 1: getting a pick. It's only a fifth round pick. It
- 16:02Speaker 1: wasn't so much about the pick, but it was about
- 16:04Speaker 1: they weren't going to re sign, to sign them to
- 16:06Speaker 1: a new deal, and they didn't want to have to
- 16:07Speaker 1: pay twenty million bucks for a guy. It's hurt all
- 16:09Speaker 1: the time.
- 16:10Speaker 8: Dude, you're so smart. I'm not. This is just I
- 16:12Speaker 8: guess you are. You understand I've been reading about this
- 16:14Speaker 8: for years, and I'm like, I don't get it, and
- 16:16Speaker 8: I just give up.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I just don't understand.
- 16:18Speaker 8: You also have dyscalcula, that's true, and dyslexic. So think
- 16:22Speaker 8: about reading an article on that stuff about numbers. I'm screwed,
- 16:25Speaker 8: completely screwed. But if I have my best friend explained.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It to me, I can't.
- 16:30Speaker 8: I can like, like, it's ten dollars.
- 16:32Speaker 1: That's how I have to explain it to myself. Everything
- 16:34Speaker 1: at ten dollars is even when I do math, it's
- 16:36Speaker 1: all in ten and tens and round numbers.
- 16:39Speaker 8: You start throwing millions out, man, I'm like, I don't
- 16:40Speaker 8: know what you're talking about.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Read any question from you?
- 16:42Speaker 3: No, man, I mean the only thing I didn't kind
- 16:46Speaker 3: of understand is salary cap stuff. And that's just from
- 16:48Speaker 3: playing like two K and.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Oh right, yeah, you're like, you own your own college team, right.
- 16:53Speaker 4: I did.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I'd not build out because I'm terrible at the game.
- 16:56Speaker 1: So salary caps in what way?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Meaning?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Why are they different? Baseball doesn't have one. Baseball you
- 17:01Speaker 1: end up paying a luxury tax once you hit a
- 17:03Speaker 1: certain amount. But it's why the big teams have all
- 17:05Speaker 1: the That's why the Dodgers have everybody.
- 17:07Speaker 8: A luxury tax like monopoly, like the governments.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Once you hit a level, it's a luxury tax that
- 17:12Speaker 1: you have to pay back into the way. And it's
- 17:15Speaker 1: like so much luxury with all your team that you
- 17:18Speaker 1: have to pay in And.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Like Otani's thing, they deferred like six hundred million of it,
- 17:22Speaker 6: like they don't have to pay it till after his contract.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Baseball's got a lot of crazy rules. Yeah, like there's
- 17:28Speaker 1: no salary cap in baseball. Yeah, and then like Bobby
- 17:31Speaker 1: Boni is you know he has Bobby Bonia. They gets
- 17:32Speaker 1: a million bucks every year. It's because they puts a
- 17:34Speaker 1: lot of that back. Basketball is weird because they have
- 17:38Speaker 1: clauses to like a bird clause where if you're with
- 17:40Speaker 1: the team for a long time, a super max meaning
- 17:43Speaker 1: if you're with the team for like Luca cannot get
- 17:45Speaker 1: super max money because he's not with Dallas. He could
- 17:48Speaker 1: have got it in Dallas if they'd wanted to sign him,
- 17:50Speaker 1: but it's with the Lakers.
- 17:51Speaker 8: Now.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Lakers can offer them super max money because they have
- 17:53Speaker 1: to play with them long enough. But there is a cap,
- 17:55Speaker 1: but then there are little rules around the cap how
- 17:57Speaker 1: you can pay people more.
- 17:58Speaker 8: Did you see Dallas is raising their their ticket prices
- 18:01Speaker 8: like ten percent. But like everyone's gone, and like I
- 18:04Speaker 8: think Kyrie's hurt.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Kyrie is hurt. It's a bad timing, man, the Kyrie thing.
- 18:07Speaker 1: He's hurt, and that is I think it was a
- 18:09Speaker 1: hamstring injury a c l oh, that's what it was.
- 18:11Speaker 1: ACL And that's a season. So he's now he's next year,
- 18:15Speaker 1: he's going to be out for that year.
- 18:16Speaker 8: Yeah. Yeah, Luke is gone and prices are expensive.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Bad timing. They probably would have raised him anyway regardless,
- 18:23Speaker 1: just because of tickets goes down. Yes, the other sport
- 18:28Speaker 1: was an FL They have a salary cap. Yeah, theirs
- 18:32Speaker 1: is the hardest of the caps.
- 18:36Speaker 8: Do you imagine we didn't have a salary cap? The
- 18:38Speaker 8: Cowboys would have everyone man.
- 18:40Speaker 1: And still saw it. You'd be the Yankee. We don't
- 18:44Speaker 1: have to say, have all the money. He can win
- 18:46Speaker 1: the world. Yes, okay, I thank you, thank you for
- 18:49Speaker 1: coming to class, everybody. And if I mess anything up
- 18:51Speaker 1: in this, no need a DM me. If I was
- 18:55Speaker 1: like eighty eight percent right to me, that's successful being
- 18:59Speaker 1: eighty eight percent right there. Update on the pickleball troll
- 19:02Speaker 1: who challenged me, We had a lawyer named Brooks join
- 19:05Speaker 1: us to explain some of the stuff on how we
- 19:07Speaker 1: can make this happen without me getting scammed out of
- 19:09Speaker 1: money or him even you're gonna hear about some legal stuff.
- 19:13Speaker 1: He's a license attorney in three different states. He's now
- 19:16Speaker 1: working part time because his wife's a surgeon, and he
- 19:18Speaker 1: just was like, hey, I can actually help you pull
- 19:19Speaker 1: this off. So, without saying anymore, here he is the attorney,
- 19:24Speaker 1: not mine. Never met him, the attorney. Okay, so we
- 19:28Speaker 1: have Brooks. I won't even say Brooks his last name,
- 19:31Speaker 1: just in case.
- 19:32Speaker 8: Oh nice, good, I mean you got it, like Brooks
- 19:34Speaker 8: the lawyer.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Well, unless Brooks, like has a legal firm he wants
- 19:37Speaker 1: to promote Brooks and Brooks. Yeah, I don't know Brooks
- 19:40Speaker 1: and associates. Brooks, are you an attorney right now?
- 19:44Speaker 4: I am a licensed attorney?
- 19:45Speaker 8: Okay?
- 19:45Speaker 1: And so what my.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Last name is? My last name is sorry, I'll talk
- 19:49Speaker 4: every but my last name is Fry f Roye.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Okay, there we go. I support Brooks. I don't know
- 19:54Speaker 1: what he does, but I support him already because he's
- 19:56Speaker 1: on with us. So use Brooks Fry for your needs.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Why do you do it? Brooks? What do you do
- 20:01Speaker 1: is your specialty?
- 20:03Speaker 4: So I moved to Tennessee about four years ago.
- 20:07Speaker 10: I did a lot of personal injury and business litigation
- 20:10Speaker 10: for a few years. Then that firm I was working
- 20:12Speaker 10: with one other attorney. He decided to move on and
- 20:15Speaker 10: get back to doing what you call big law and
- 20:17Speaker 10: went back to IP litigation or intellectual property, and I
- 20:20Speaker 10: took a step back.
- 20:21Speaker 4: I've got a.
- 20:22Speaker 10: Six year old and another child on the way, and
- 20:25Speaker 10: so I've been working remotely from home for the last
- 20:27Speaker 10: six months or so.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Are you still licensed for if we needed to use
- 20:31Speaker 1: your services, that you could hop in and we wouldn't
- 20:34Speaker 1: go to jail.
- 20:35Speaker 4: That's correct. Yes, I still have a license in Tennessee.
- 20:37Speaker 4: I've got win in Kentucky in North Carolina as well.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yeah, don't even ask the questions. That's why I'm like,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'm confusing I how to be asked lawyer's questions and
- 20:43Speaker 1: I don't really got there. Actually good, So here's the thing.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Brooks is an attorney and we need a legal advice
- 20:49Speaker 1: because that dude in Ohio who was like, i'll play you,
- 20:54Speaker 1: We'll play for a thousand bucks and pickleball, But I
- 20:57Speaker 1: don't trust that I'm not going to get scammed by
- 20:59Speaker 1: sending him the money. So Brooks, as an attorney, what
- 21:03Speaker 1: do you advise us to do so I don't get
- 21:06Speaker 1: scammed and he doesn't get scammed with the money.
- 21:08Speaker 10: Well, the main thing what I would say is you
- 21:10Speaker 10: don't necessarily need a lawyer. I do think it's good
- 21:13Speaker 10: idea to have a lawyer to draft the agreement for you,
- 21:15Speaker 10: but it's basically just set up an escrow. That way,
- 21:17Speaker 10: you have a third party to hold the money for
- 21:19Speaker 10: you while while the competition is pending, and you're going
- 21:24Speaker 10: to have to have a pretty good agreement so that
- 21:25Speaker 10: both of you trust the terms of it. Then you
- 21:29Speaker 10: have an escrow agent, which could be me or someone else,
- 21:32Speaker 10: that would hold that the money to be paid into them.
- 21:35Speaker 10: So if I think you were saying you wanted to
- 21:37Speaker 10: put in one thousand dollars apiece, then you'd have two
- 21:40Speaker 10: thousand dollars as the payout, which would be held in
- 21:43Speaker 10: an account that only the escor agent would have access
- 21:47Speaker 10: to or attorney. And then what's the competition is over,
- 21:53Speaker 10: then that person would then have the ultimate authority to
- 21:55Speaker 10: decide who to award the two thousand dollars.
- 21:56Speaker 1: To now, if you were him, I'll play devil's advocate
- 21:59Speaker 1: if you were him, and I said, okay, I've got
- 22:02Speaker 1: my attorney, mister Brooks Fry. Ever heard of him? And
- 22:05Speaker 1: he's like I haven't. I was like, oh, he's the best.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And I say, he is holding my thousand and he'll
- 22:10Speaker 1: hold your thousand in an escrow. Would there be a
- 22:13Speaker 1: reason that he would go no, I don't trust that,
- 22:15Speaker 1: or because since you are a licensed you kind of
- 22:17Speaker 1: have to do the right thing.
- 22:19Speaker 4: That's right.
- 22:19Speaker 10: Yeah, So the upside of being being a lawyer, you know,
- 22:22Speaker 10: you put yourself out there, so the last thing you
- 22:24Speaker 10: want as an attorneys were starting to be upset, so
- 22:26Speaker 10: you one. I would also if I want to draft
- 22:28Speaker 10: the agreement, I'd want to make sure that both parties
- 22:31Speaker 10: were completely acceptable to the agreement. I wouldn't be representing
- 22:35Speaker 10: either of you individually. In fact, we wouldn't even necessarily
- 22:37Speaker 10: have a true lawyer client relationship because again I would
- 22:43Speaker 10: just be representing the two of you as an asker agent.
- 22:46Speaker 10: The money would would just be set up in an
- 22:48Speaker 10: account that I would hold. The main thing would be
- 22:51Speaker 10: is one of the friend of trust. I know, I
- 22:53Speaker 10: appreciate you saying I'm a great lawyer. But the truth
- 22:55Speaker 10: is we don't know one another, so he has no
- 22:58Speaker 10: reason to think that I would favor you over him.
- 23:01Speaker 10: But it would be great to put me in touch
- 23:03Speaker 10: with him if you want to move forward, and then
- 23:04Speaker 10: we can talk.
- 23:05Speaker 4: I can talk to him, he can ask any question
- 23:07Speaker 4: he wants on.
- 23:08Speaker 10: Me, and we can go forward. I thought I was
- 23:10Speaker 10: a prosecutor for sixteen years. That's what I did in
- 23:12Speaker 10: North Carolina and Kentucky. So I'd like to think that
- 23:15Speaker 10: I try.
- 23:16Speaker 4: To be pretty fair.
- 23:17Speaker 1: If I were to put a dollar in your pocket,
- 23:18Speaker 1: can I tell you every secret I know you could see? Cool?
- 23:22Speaker 1: That's what I want to do.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I when I have something, well, that's something well with
- 23:25Speaker 2: some limitation.
- 23:26Speaker 10: If you know other than like, for example, you can
- 23:29Speaker 10: tell me you're going to commit a criminal act that
- 23:31Speaker 10: would harm somebody else, then I'd have to to hold
- 23:33Speaker 10: to that.
- 23:34Speaker 1: But if I told you that I had committed a
- 23:37Speaker 1: criminal act in the past, would you tell on me?
- 23:39Speaker 10: No.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I got to get a dollar of this guy quick.
- 23:42Speaker 1: It's a good guy, and so okay, So here's now
- 23:44Speaker 1: when we dropped the agreement doesn't have to be like
- 23:46Speaker 1: a ten page or Can it be like two paragraphs?
- 23:48Speaker 1: That's like, we agree to play pickleball. These are the
- 23:51Speaker 1: rules we're going to play to. This is how we're
- 23:53Speaker 1: gonna fight about if there's a discrepancy on a point
- 23:57Speaker 1: in er out? Can it be like a few paragraphs?
- 24:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it would.
- 24:01Speaker 10: You would have some what you call legal lees, which
- 24:03Speaker 10: is the sort of bulletplate language that you see in
- 24:05Speaker 10: a lot of contracts that you would you'd want in there.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Just just to make sure it was everything was up
- 24:10Speaker 4: to far.
- 24:10Speaker 10: But other than that, the meat of it, the substance. Yes,
- 24:13Speaker 10: it'd just be a few paragraphs, I think. But those
- 24:16Speaker 10: are some of the points I would have for you.
- 24:18Speaker 10: If you'd want to make sure that you had rules
- 24:20Speaker 10: established us. Seeing there's some pickleball rules or some association,
- 24:23Speaker 10: you could follow their rules and adopt them. You'd want
- 24:26Speaker 10: to have a referee for the match. That would probably
- 24:27Speaker 10: be an interesting thing to talk about.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I pick Eddy?
- 24:30Speaker 8: Can I do that?
- 24:30Speaker 1: Can I pick my friend to do it?
- 24:32Speaker 4: Does that work? Sure? As long as he if he's agreeable.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's going to work.
- 24:37Speaker 8: Yeah, he's never throw it in the contract?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Yes, surrounded with big words. Yeah, So.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 24:46Speaker 7: So we need to.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Because I can't really establish the rules with him. But
- 24:51Speaker 1: what we can do is draw up some generic rules
- 24:54Speaker 1: and then you talk between both of us to establish
- 24:58Speaker 1: what we agree upon. Is that would that be through it?
- 25:00Speaker 4: Yes, that's what I'd recommend, is that we come up
- 25:03Speaker 4: with something.
- 25:03Speaker 10: I guess one before we start getting into it, let's
- 25:06Speaker 10: get some I don't even know what the guy's name is,
- 25:07Speaker 10: but communication with him.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Mister troll Johnson, so I call him troll Johnson. Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Well we're starting off in good footing.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, So uh talk to him, uh.
- 25:21Speaker 10: You know, some email communication or something like that, just
- 25:23Speaker 10: to get him, make sure he actually wants to do it,
- 25:27Speaker 10: you know, and then you got to figure out where
- 25:28Speaker 10: you're gonna do it.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Cleveland, Ohio. I think I'm gonna fly to him Cleveland, Ohio.
- 25:32Speaker 4: You know you got You're gonna have to fly up there.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's what drive. That's a long lost now
- 25:36Speaker 1: that's true. Why you know what, I'll go, I'll go
- 25:38Speaker 1: on the road. I'll give up the home court advantage.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I'll go on the road to take on mister troll Johnson.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I'm coming for you. And I was gonna sep with
- 25:45Speaker 1: my lawyer. But I don't know, Like you said, I
- 25:46Speaker 1: don't know, he's impartial impartial attorney.
- 25:49Speaker 8: Is mister Brooks? Is he doing this pro bono?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Well, it's a good question. What's your hourly rate? Mister Brooks?
- 25:57Speaker 1: Just be respectful.
- 25:58Speaker 10: It's quite a obviously I was going to do this
- 26:02Speaker 10: pro bow Now I just find it amusing. I do
- 26:04Speaker 10: listen to the show daily, both this one and your
- 26:08Speaker 10: your bigger show.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Are you a trustworth the guy which you want to
- 26:10Speaker 1: go with us? What have you weird?
- 26:11Speaker 8: If you went with us and we introduce him everyone
- 26:13Speaker 8: as our lawyer except but.
- 26:15Speaker 1: But he can't be our lawyers, the lawyer for the games.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Yeah that's right, lawyer, Yeah, the lawyer for this competition.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yes, okay, So do we need to possibly do that? Yeah?
- 26:27Speaker 1: I think that's that's something we should consider. That'd be
- 26:30Speaker 1: especially if he's in a suit. We show up with
- 26:32Speaker 1: a guy in a suit and a briefcase.
- 26:34Speaker 8: Nothing needs to be in there, just a briefcase.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Handcout to his hand. He handcuffs a briefcase to his
- 26:39Speaker 1: hand so no one can steal a contract.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Yes, okay, I did hear Eddie make the sault Goodman comment?
- 26:45Speaker 4: The other day.
- 26:46Speaker 10: But you know, I don't have an old school briefcase.
- 26:49Speaker 10: I do have, like, you know, the leather sort of
- 26:51Speaker 10: saddle briefcase.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Get you can bring that. It's monic, it's legit.
- 26:55Speaker 1: It's more find him. Okay, So is there any language
- 26:59Speaker 1: because there's a difference in like a competition or a
- 27:02Speaker 1: lottery or how do we need to approach this legally
- 27:05Speaker 1: in order for this to be legit?
- 27:08Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, well I was just pointing that out. I
- 27:11Speaker 4: know that.
- 27:11Speaker 10: I think it was originally referred to as a bet,
- 27:13Speaker 10: but when you think about the laws, that refers to
- 27:17Speaker 10: like betting. Obviously that's a game of chance. So you
- 27:20Speaker 10: don't want to say that because there's rules about gambling
- 27:22Speaker 10: and you don't want.
- 27:23Speaker 4: To be in violation of that. But that's not what
- 27:24Speaker 4: you're doing.
- 27:25Speaker 10: This is a skills based competition that I presume you're
- 27:29Speaker 10: a very highly skilled pickaball.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Player, and maybe not the other guy, but we'll see maybe.
- 27:35Speaker 10: But it's going to be based on his skill or
- 27:37Speaker 10: lack thereof, and yours or lack thereof, and we'll see
- 27:40Speaker 10: how it goes.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I say the risk is his life once I kill
- 27:43Speaker 1: him on the court. A game of chance on the court,
- 27:46Speaker 1: on the court getting into a game with me, and
- 27:47Speaker 1: the chance isn't going to be humiliated even though it's
- 27:50Speaker 1: a four year D one athlete. That kind of sucks.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I don't know that way, I don't remember that. Yeah, no,
- 27:53Speaker 1: I mean okay, So do you know what sporty played? Wrestling? Yeah, exactly. Yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 1: that's going to wrest to touch him, wrestle to pick
- 28:02Speaker 1: the ball at the ground. I'm going to hold it down. Okay.
- 28:04Speaker 1: So first of all, thank you so much for giving
- 28:07Speaker 1: us this advice.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Uh.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Secondly, I'm going to get in contact with old Feller
- 28:13Speaker 1: and we will see how comfortable he is with the
- 28:17Speaker 1: communication with our mutually agreed upon attorney, and then the
- 28:21Speaker 1: game of skill for the based competition absolutely for the cash,
- 28:28Speaker 1: should and shall take place therefore on.
- 28:31Speaker 9: Okay contract, Yeah yeah, yeah, you're writing this down for yes,
- 28:36Speaker 9: for score, I've already got that note.
- 28:38Speaker 10: You want to have a time limit if he's if
- 28:40Speaker 10: he backs down, you can need him by a certain question.
- 28:43Speaker 1: What if the time is again for score in seven
- 28:46Speaker 1: years seven minutes?
- 28:47Speaker 7: Man?
- 28:48Speaker 1: Okay, good point, good point, okay, Hey, thank you brook
- 28:51Speaker 1: Din really appreciate it. And we will be in touch
- 28:52Speaker 1: really soon. I'm going to get his information and hopefully
- 28:55Speaker 1: we can get this thing going. Okay, all right, Bob,
- 28:57Speaker 1: thanks for having counsel.
- 28:58Speaker 7: That's funny, all right.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Pick.
- 29:01Speaker 1: You've heard us do parlays on this podcast. Sometimes good,
- 29:05Speaker 1: most times we're not the best I've seen. I've seen
- 29:08Speaker 1: people are great at them. You know what reads pretty
- 29:10Speaker 1: good atm right, if I'm being honest, you kind of
- 29:12Speaker 1: nail these, Thanks, dude.
- 29:13Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know what I'm doing, but I
- 29:14Speaker 3: think that's part of it.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Maybe that's key. Yeah, maybe that's the key. We do
- 29:17Speaker 1: love parlays, though Eddie's also hit like an eight or
- 29:20Speaker 1: nine or recently too.
- 29:21Speaker 8: Oh I missed it by one. Oh you did your
- 29:23Speaker 8: Arkansas Razor.
- 29:25Speaker 1: And so while we've done many NFL parlays, like colleges
- 29:29Speaker 1: were for sure, like I feel is my best name,
- 29:31Speaker 1: and usually college football, but college basketball too. It's March
- 29:34Speaker 1: madness for a reason. Make sure you get in on
- 29:36Speaker 1: your own with the parlays. Whether it's riding these favorite
- 29:39Speaker 1: conference that's what I do, big SEC guy, or taking
- 29:42Speaker 1: your team to win, maybe taking your team to win
- 29:44Speaker 1: and the over, or taking a Cinderella to cover, or
- 29:47Speaker 1: even to win. The payouts are awesome with parlays. That's
- 29:50Speaker 1: why we like doing them, because they're awesome. I bet

- 30:38Speaker 1: I just created this game and we're all gonna draft.
- 30:41Speaker 1: There's four of us here. It's okay, Eddie Casey, myself
- 30:45Speaker 1: and Red and so we're going to draft greatest American athletes.
- 30:50Speaker 1: So there are going to be five categories Major League Baseball, NFL, NBA,
- 30:55Speaker 1: the three big sports retired, so the other ones have
- 30:59Speaker 1: to be current, a coach, and a fictional Okay, so
- 31:03Speaker 1: take your pens down.
- 31:04Speaker 8: I just wrote mine down, a coach and then someone fictional.
- 31:10Speaker 1: In sports, and we're gonna see who can come up
- 31:12Speaker 1: with the best team, and you can draft them in
- 31:14Speaker 1: any order you want. Now, you could go NFL first.
- 31:17Speaker 1: All have to be active unless it's retired.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Okay.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Interesting, And then we'll put a graphic up on at
- 31:23Speaker 1: Bobby in Sports and we'll let them vote on who
- 31:25Speaker 1: the winner is and the winter will get a dollar
- 31:27Speaker 1: or something. Okay, So the categories are going to because
- 31:30Speaker 1: Red struggling with it, He's like, what league sort? Major
- 31:34Speaker 1: League Baseball? These are all American sports? Major League Baseball, NFL, NBA.
- 31:40Speaker 1: So we covered the three big any retired athlete to
- 31:45Speaker 1: play American sports, any coach, current coach, and any fictional
- 31:50Speaker 1: character in sports. Okay, got it, got it, got it.
- 31:55Speaker 1: So we have to have an order, Mike, we write
- 31:58Speaker 1: a number down on a.
- 31:59Speaker 8: Piece of paper do a random generator.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, there's four of us here, so whatever it generates,
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'll be one, Casey two read three, Eddie four.
- 32:06Speaker 8: Okay. So I was just kind of thinking while you
- 32:09Speaker 8: were explaining everything. So do we have are the categories
- 32:13Speaker 8: of the of the teams? Like do you have to
- 32:16Speaker 8: have a coach?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, yeah to draft to everybody any order you want.
- 32:19Speaker 8: Like in the fantasy you got the positions. These are
- 32:22Speaker 8: the Okay, it's like the roster. I love it.
- 32:24Speaker 1: It's we'll call this our sports hero draft. Okay, Mike,
- 32:29Speaker 1: what's the number number?
- 32:31Speaker 10: Four?
- 32:32Speaker 1: Oh, Edie? So that's Eddie first. I'll go second, Casey
- 32:36Speaker 1: didn't read, and then we wrap around and go backward.
- 32:37Speaker 1: What does that over and over again? We have six categories,
- 32:40Speaker 1: Eddie first, overall pick, and the sports hero draft.
- 32:43Speaker 8: Like I do in fantasy, I pick the heart, the
- 32:46Speaker 8: one that has the least amount of players, so like
- 32:50Speaker 8: running backs. Not a lot of running backs. So I'm
- 32:52Speaker 8: gonna go with the coaches on this one. I'm going
- 32:54Speaker 8: Nick Saban as my number one pick.
- 32:56Speaker 1: M Okay, it's a weird fantasy. Just try to you too.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Maybe there are a lot of a lot of receivers.
- 33:02Speaker 8: I never get a receiver first.
- 33:03Speaker 1: All right, I'll go retired Michael Jordan.
- 33:06Speaker 8: Oh that's pretty good.
- 33:07Speaker 6: That's what I was gonna do. Man, Yeah, I mean yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 6: that's too good. All Right, I'm gonna do MLB. I'm
- 33:13Speaker 6: gonna go show Hey o Tani, Yeah, ok case.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Read, I'm gonna go fictional.
- 33:20Speaker 3: I'm gonna go radio.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Dude, Radio, you love radio the movie Radio. But a
- 33:27Speaker 1: radio plays sport? Yeah he did.
- 33:28Speaker 3: He played basketball and football, Dude, he did. He played
- 33:32Speaker 3: basketball at the end, but he was a football player.
- 33:34Speaker 8: Okay.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Radio was played by.
- 33:38Speaker 2: That's who it was.
- 33:39Speaker 3: What a story man?
- 33:40Speaker 1: What tell us the story man?
- 33:41Speaker 3: I mean, you know he just picked on he special needs,
- 33:45Speaker 3: and you know they like throw him. They throw him
- 33:46Speaker 3: in a shed and like pick on him and all
- 33:48Speaker 3: this stuff, and he ends up being an American hero man.
- 33:51Speaker 3: They put him on the team and he he does good.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Do you love the movie?
- 33:56Speaker 3: I do love the movie mainly because it was like
- 33:58Speaker 3: the first movie that I ever cried to. And I
- 34:00Speaker 3: still cry when I when I when I see them
- 34:02Speaker 3: like good Man. I mean, it's an emotional movie.
- 34:05Speaker 1: It's a very personal first round pick. You could have
- 34:06Speaker 1: got that your last pick. You want to pick Radio,
- 34:11Speaker 1: that but you know what you get? What you want
- 34:15Speaker 1: that is Reid's first round pick is Radio.
- 34:20Speaker 8: And Snake Draft.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Here Snake draft. So now read will go first in
- 34:23Speaker 1: the second round.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna go Coach. I'm gonna go Bellichick.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Baby.
- 34:27Speaker 8: See that's good.
- 34:29Speaker 1: All right, Like you could have waited the last pick,
- 34:30Speaker 1: pick Radio. Let's be honest, but I got you. Check
- 34:34Speaker 1: Casey over to you.
- 34:35Speaker 6: All right, I'm gonna go NFL. I'm gonna go with
- 34:37Speaker 6: mister Patrick Mahomes.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Got you good, good job. That would have been my
- 34:43Speaker 1: next pick.
- 34:44Speaker 8: You stole mine. It's do yours.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I'm going to go n B A Lebron nice.
- 34:54Speaker 8: So Jordan and Lebron are picked Jordan Lebron.
- 34:57Speaker 1: So my retired Jordan happened in basketball on the Bron
- 35:00Speaker 1: is my basketball pick.
- 35:02Speaker 8: Okay, I'm gonna go to NFL. Give me the goat,
- 35:07Speaker 8: Tom Brady.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I'll retired, dude, got them unless you're gonna go.
- 35:11Speaker 8: Retire retired Tom Brady. Question though about.
- 35:14Speaker 1: He's retired, so you have to go retired category. Okay,
- 35:16Speaker 1: but question about retired is dead retired too. I think
- 35:20Speaker 1: they need to be dude, I just made the game up,
- 35:22Speaker 1: so in my mind they should be alive. Yeah, okay,
- 35:28Speaker 1: we'll go alive. So then I will go retired, but
- 35:32Speaker 1: going tom Brady, Yeah, retired tom Brady. Yeah, that's a
- 35:35Speaker 1: great pick.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:38Speaker 1: So who's on your team so far?
- 35:39Speaker 8: So I have Sabin and Tom Brady.
- 35:40Speaker 1: That's pretty solid. Okay, And now it's back over to you.
- 35:45Speaker 1: You're gonna be first this round. What category are filling
- 35:49Speaker 1: up over there?
- 35:50Speaker 8: I'm thinking, do I go MLB?
- 35:52Speaker 1: I'm just mad radio is gone.
- 35:54Speaker 8: I'll be honest radio star stud Let's go with current
- 35:59Speaker 8: MLB Aaron Judge. Good, nice, great choice you. Hmmm, this
- 36:07Speaker 8: is gonna get.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Hard in fictional I have I have so many good ones.
- 36:15Speaker 8: I know you're already done with There's.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Nothing you can do.
- 36:19Speaker 3: I could have made a way better decision.
- 36:21Speaker 8: That's good.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I don't even want to talk mine out because I
- 36:28Speaker 1: think you guys will take the other one.
- 36:30Speaker 4: M hm.
- 36:31Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go NFL and I'm gonna go Lamar Jackson.
- 36:40Speaker 8: That's really good. Hmm. All right, Casey over to you.
- 36:45Speaker 6: I think I'm gonna go n B. A I'm debating
- 36:48Speaker 6: who to choose here, but I'm leaning towards mister s
- 36:51Speaker 6: g A, the m VP in check he gildess Alexander. Yes,
- 36:57Speaker 6: you're leaning or you're there, I'm there, I'm there, Sga,
- 37:00Speaker 6: I'm in read. What categories do you have? But you
- 37:02Speaker 6: have everything but coaching? Fictional right left?
- 37:05Speaker 8: Yep, yep?
- 37:06Speaker 3: Has anybody said show hey yet?
- 37:08Speaker 1: Yeah? Yes, all right, I'm gonna do Bryce Harper MLB.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Write that down.
- 37:19Speaker 8: And snake Yeah back to read again.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Okay, cool, let's see who do you have to wait?
- 37:24Speaker 1: Ri at your team? Right now?
- 37:26Speaker 3: We got radio melogic and Bryce Harper. Okay, and so
- 37:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna go retired. I'm gonna go Bo Jackson.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Oh this is solid, dude, Dude, that's good.
- 37:38Speaker 7: I read.
- 37:39Speaker 8: It's a good one.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Pulling them out right now, Son.
- 37:42Speaker 6: That's coaches have to be current coaching, right they do retired? Okay,
- 37:48Speaker 6: so current coaching. I'm gonna go Andy Reid. I got
- 37:51Speaker 6: the homes Andy Reid connection going here.
- 37:54Speaker 8: Wait wait, wait, so so I got saving he's under
- 37:57Speaker 8: retired coaching.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Oh that's a you know what, we didn't stop you. Yeah,
- 38:01Speaker 1: you get to keep you get to keep it, thank you,
- 38:03Speaker 1: because we just made up the game. That's like you
- 38:05Speaker 1: sold me a product and that was like and it
- 38:08Speaker 1: wasn't on sale and now it was or something like that. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, good, good job.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But you get to keep saving and case you have
- 38:17Speaker 1: Andy Raidy said yes, yes, Okay, so I have MLB
- 38:23Speaker 1: coach and fictional. I think I'm gonna go fictional. This
- 38:29Speaker 1: is a tough one because there are so many good
- 38:31Speaker 1: ones other than radio. Obviously, I think I'm gonna go
- 38:38Speaker 1: happy Gilmore.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Oh nice, that's a good one.
- 38:41Speaker 8: He was awesome.
- 38:42Speaker 3: That's a good one.
- 38:45Speaker 8: Okay, I need an NFL current player.
- 38:50Speaker 1: What do you have left overall?
- 38:51Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't really have a structure on my paper
- 38:53Speaker 8: because you don't know what you have left, like what category?
- 38:55Speaker 8: Not really I know who I picked, So I kind
- 38:57Speaker 8: of have an idea I have. I think I have
- 39:00Speaker 8: NFL current that I need because I have NFL retired.
- 39:04Speaker 8: Yeah you had, Brady, Why don't you make the list
- 39:06Speaker 8: while we're going right now? Okay, did you have a coach?
- 39:09Speaker 8: Should you read me the categories again?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Baseball, football, Basketball? So those are three players, kay retired,
- 39:17Speaker 1: a coach, and a fictional.
- 39:23Speaker 7: MLB.
- 39:24Speaker 8: Okay, so I do have retired Tom Brady and then
- 39:32Speaker 8: fictional I did not have. I think I'm gonna go there.
- 39:34Speaker 8: I'm gonna go with fictional Henry Rowan Gardner, the kid
- 39:42Speaker 8: with the army.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Big fan.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 8: And then I need an NBA player, So this is
- 39:51Speaker 8: current NBA player, right, Ye, give me Anthony Edwards.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Good choice. So I have to take an MLB player
- 40:03Speaker 1: or a coach, and I'm gonna take Mike Trout.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Mm hmm.
- 40:09Speaker 6: All right, I think I'm gonna go with my retired pick.
- 40:12Speaker 6: Now you know, I'm just gonna do it. Shaquille O'Neill.
- 40:16Speaker 6: I need a big man, that's good man.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I'm gonna follow the same big man logic. I'm gonna
- 40:25Speaker 3: go NBA and go Wimby Nice.
- 40:30Speaker 8: And who do you have left?
- 40:32Speaker 1: I got NFL left, So you have one pick left
- 40:34Speaker 1: and I'll go to you.
- 40:36Speaker 3: That's the one i'm struggling with.
- 40:41Speaker 8: Oh, that's a good question.
- 40:43Speaker 3: You know what, I'm gonna go Cee D.
- 40:53Speaker 4: I love it.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna go se D. You're gonna go see he's.
- 40:58Speaker 8: Very different.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna god of your time.
- 41:00Speaker 6: Okay, all right, my last pick, my fictional character. I'm
- 41:03Speaker 6: gonna go with Jesus Shuttleworth from He Got.
- 41:06Speaker 8: Game Right Now, that's a good movie. Man, I forgot
- 41:11Speaker 8: about that movie.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Mine's gonna have to be a coach. Just what I
- 41:16Speaker 1: have left? What do you have left, Eddie?
- 41:21Speaker 8: I have NFL?
- 41:22Speaker 1: So so I could talk my coaches out. I am
- 41:24Speaker 1: between Steve Kerr, John Harball, Jim Harble, both the Horrible Brothers,
- 41:28Speaker 1: Pry Jim, probably Steve Jim or Jim Harball. I think
- 41:31Speaker 1: I'll go Jim Harball just because NFL is more popular.
- 41:33Speaker 1: So coach Jim Harball, all right, We're gonna win immediately.
- 41:38Speaker 1: That's what he does. Eddie, this is tough.
- 41:42Speaker 8: I should not have left the current NFL player Like,
- 41:45Speaker 8: It's just this is hard.
- 41:46Speaker 1: You can talk it out because you have plenty of times.
- 41:50Speaker 8: I would have really wanted Asatrick Mahomes. That's the first
- 41:53Speaker 8: one available. I would have really liked to stop not
- 41:57Speaker 8: picking that absolutely. Oh I really would have liked Lamar Jackson. Yeah,
- 42:05Speaker 8: but currently Manaquon is just oh yeah killing it true? Okay,
- 42:10Speaker 8: I mean that backwards jump with a split.
- 42:13Speaker 1: We all know what we've seen.
- 42:15Speaker 8: Give meon Barkley my last pick.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Everybody has their teams complete.
- 42:19Speaker 9: Yep, yep.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Let's uh, let's read our full team read you go first?
- 42:23Speaker 4: All right?
- 42:23Speaker 3: Yeah, we got we got Bryce Harper coming in number one.
- 42:26Speaker 3: We got Cde Lamb, Wimbin Yama Belichick, Bo Jackson, and
- 42:31Speaker 3: the Man of the Hour Radio.
- 42:35Speaker 8: It's pretty solid.
- 42:36Speaker 3: I can't I can't wait to see the graphic.
- 42:37Speaker 4: I make.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Pictures up to his, and all of ours are just
- 42:42Speaker 1: like misspelled text.
- 42:44Speaker 8: Didn't the radio carry a radio around?
- 42:47Speaker 3: That's a little yeah, just because just because he always
- 42:50Speaker 3: had a radio.
- 42:50Speaker 6: Got big Boo box Man Casey. Your team, Yeah, we
- 42:55Speaker 6: first pick was show Hey Otani. Then I went with
- 42:57Speaker 6: Patrick Mahomes, s g A my Man, Jesus Shuttleworth, Andy Reid,
- 43:04Speaker 6: and Shaquille O'Neal.
- 43:05Speaker 8: Solid your team, all around team. I went, I'm just
- 43:09Speaker 8: gonna kind of give you the order that I wrote
- 43:11Speaker 8: it down. Anthony Edwards, Saquon Barkley, Aaron Judge, Tom Brady,
- 43:17Speaker 8: the Goat, Henry Rowan Gardner, and Nick Saban as my coach.
- 43:22Speaker 8: Pretty good, it's pretty good.
- 43:23Speaker 1: And then my team is Mike Trout, Lamar Jackson, Lebron,
- 43:27Speaker 1: James Michael Jordan, Jim Harball, Happy go more.
- 43:30Speaker 8: I mean you got it. You're the winner, and you
- 43:34Speaker 8: did you go second, you had a second pick. Yeah,
- 43:36Speaker 8: that's pretty solid.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Well when you didn't pick Michael Jordan stupid, like, that's.
- 43:41Speaker 6: That's right, that's number one.
- 43:42Speaker 8: But you understand what I was concerned about running out
- 43:45Speaker 8: of coaches because I.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Don't feel like coaches that big of a category. I mean,
- 43:49Speaker 1: let's we just made the game up on front on
- 43:50Speaker 1: the air.
- 43:50Speaker 8: It's like the kicker. The coaches like the kicker.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:53Speaker 3: Can you see Belichick coaching radio though.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Yeah, radio would not respect that. He would not be
- 44:00Speaker 1: my other fictionals. I almost picked teen Wolf.
- 44:05Speaker 8: I just watched that the other day.
- 44:06Speaker 4: He did.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so teen Wolf was up there. Benny the Jet
- 44:09Speaker 1: Rodriguez was up there for.
- 44:10Speaker 8: Me, of course, and he made it to the pros.
- 44:12Speaker 8: So yeah, that's good.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Old school, like Jimmy Chitwood from Hoosiers.
- 44:17Speaker 8: Who was he just the star of Hoosiers.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Bobby Bouche, Yeah, I appreciate of course. Was another one.
- 44:23Speaker 8: You're good with gilmore Man. He was awesome.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I felt pretty good about that, and I mean
- 44:28Speaker 1: unmatch Power.
- 44:30Speaker 8: Did step back and run in there.
- 44:32Speaker 6: Great technique, great technique.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah, go vote if you guys, don't mind he went
- 44:36Speaker 1: up like it was a hockey stick. We'll put up
- 44:39Speaker 1: a little pole, one of the poles that are on
- 44:40Speaker 1: Instagram at Bobby Bone Sports. All right, good job, guys,
- 44:44Speaker 1: And now a part of an interview from our podcast
- 44:46Speaker 1: lots to say. It's Matt Castle, former NFL quarterback, and
- 44:49Speaker 1: myself and we were talking to Nico Collins and so
- 44:52Speaker 1: here's the part. If you needed the whole thing, go
- 44:54Speaker 1: over and listen on that podcast. Some of my friends
- 44:57Speaker 1: up play pro basketball. They talk about when they're on
- 45:00Speaker 1: and the rim looks like it's ten feet wide and
- 45:03Speaker 1: you know they can't miss, like when you're on, Like,
- 45:05Speaker 1: what's the what's the difference with you? Does the ball
- 45:08Speaker 1: look bigger?
- 45:08Speaker 8: Does look softer?
- 45:09Speaker 1: Do the players look slower?
- 45:11Speaker 7: And man?
- 45:12Speaker 11: Everything I think when I'm on, like the ball everything
- 45:15Speaker 11: is moving slow motion, like everything the ball's coming slow. Guys,
- 45:18Speaker 11: just look slower. Yeah, it's just like action figures out there.
- 45:22Speaker 11: You know, it's just a bag drill. That's kind of
- 45:24Speaker 11: what it feels like. You know, it's just routs on there.
- 45:26Speaker 11: You know you're not seeing nobody, everything just moving. You know,
- 45:29Speaker 11: you're blocking out the noise man, it's just in the moment, man,
- 45:32Speaker 11: I feel like there's that's no better feeling. Man, when
- 45:34Speaker 11: you when you find that groove, you know, you know
- 45:35Speaker 11: how it is, and it's it's unstoppable the stocks, you know.
- 45:39Speaker 7: Yeah, that groove. It's nice and I love being that group.
- 45:42Speaker 1: You ever self scout yourself for tendencies, to make sure
- 45:45Speaker 1: that you're not being scouted for tendencies, to make sure
- 45:49Speaker 1: you're not doing things like on the line that they
- 45:51Speaker 1: already know what you're about to do.
- 45:52Speaker 7: Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I try to.
- 45:54Speaker 11: I try to, you know, modify my game to keep
- 45:56Speaker 11: it the same because I'm a bigger receiver, you know,
- 45:59Speaker 11: so it's it's easier for me.
- 46:01Speaker 7: You know, I'm six for it, so it's easier for
- 46:03Speaker 7: me to you can tell when it's time for me
- 46:05Speaker 7: to de sail, stop, speed up.
- 46:07Speaker 4: You know.
- 46:07Speaker 7: It's it's easier, easier indicators, you know.
- 46:10Speaker 11: So I feel like for me, man, just that's one
- 46:12Speaker 11: thing I sell scout is how can I find ways
- 46:14Speaker 11: to make everything look the same? You know, my tempo
- 46:16Speaker 11: changing or they know when I come with the ball fast,
- 46:19Speaker 11: it's either going to be a deep route or I'm
- 46:21Speaker 11: coming off slow. Might be a run play, you know.
- 46:23Speaker 11: So I feel like right now I'm at the point
- 46:26Speaker 11: of my career where I need to make everything look
- 46:27Speaker 11: the same.
- 46:27Speaker 7: And I feel like that's thinking about.
- 46:29Speaker 11: Being chasing, you know, even when I'm tired, you know,
- 46:31Speaker 11: fourth quarter, you know, you got to run a post route,
- 46:33Speaker 11: you know, or you got to run the incut. How
- 46:35Speaker 11: can you make everything look the same? You know, So
- 46:38Speaker 11: the the dbs, you know, can't cover. You know, they're
- 46:41Speaker 11: smart too, you know, they great players and they get
- 46:44Speaker 11: paid as well, you know, so they watch film, you know,
- 46:46Speaker 11: they pros, you know, so they know they know the game,
- 46:49Speaker 11: you know, so they know when when it's a run
- 46:50Speaker 11: player past player. So I feel like for me, that's
- 46:53Speaker 11: that's one step I gotta take, you know, just making
- 46:56Speaker 11: everything look the same, you know, keep my pay level low.
- 46:58Speaker 11: Being feels with a lot of scrimmens, you know, which
- 47:00Speaker 11: I am, you know, But I feel like for me
- 47:02Speaker 11: to just continue to work in those stands.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you're physical, you're large. Do you like when a
- 47:06Speaker 1: dB comes up to jam you? Is that fun, like
- 47:09Speaker 1: let's go?
- 47:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I love it. That's try of football, man.
- 47:14Speaker 11: I feel like that's that's that brings the energy you
- 47:17Speaker 11: know that brings to the competitive nature I have. And
- 47:19Speaker 11: I love competing, man, Like, let's go and when God
- 47:22Speaker 11: come down to press, you know, be trying to stop
- 47:25Speaker 11: you from making place, you know, and for me it's
- 47:27Speaker 11: the team trust me to go make a play.
- 47:29Speaker 7: You know, whatever your numbers call, you got to make
- 47:30Speaker 7: it play, man.
- 47:31Speaker 11: So like for me, man, I love being pressed, you know,
- 47:33Speaker 11: I love just competing, you know, because hey, they putting,
- 47:36Speaker 11: they all into that that press jam, you know, so
- 47:38Speaker 11: you know you beat them off the line, you know
- 47:40Speaker 11: a lot. You know, keep running your reps and you
- 47:43Speaker 11: know you can you'll know an when you take their pride.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Little bit speaking of getting your number called, if I'm correct,
- 47:49Speaker 1: you were drafting third round. Well what are these guys feeling?
- 47:52Speaker 1: What are they feeling right now? Is we're inching up?
- 47:55Speaker 1: What were you feeling about this point as the draft
- 47:57Speaker 1: was about to happen.
- 47:59Speaker 7: Yeah, Man, I was anxious.
- 48:01Speaker 11: Didn't know where to go, you know, I didn't know
- 48:03Speaker 11: where I was gonna go, didn't know what team you know,
- 48:06Speaker 11: believe didn't me like me enough, you know, just coming
- 48:08Speaker 11: from the Senior Bowl. Man, you know, it was a
- 48:11Speaker 11: lot of emotions, you know, Pro day as well, you know,
- 48:13Speaker 11: it's a lot of nerves because if you train your
- 48:15Speaker 11: whole life to get to this level where you know
- 48:17Speaker 11: where God's training to go now, you know, and so
- 48:19Speaker 11: when you get to this level, man, it's it's the
- 48:22Speaker 11: best of the best.
- 48:22Speaker 7: You know, guys are great at this level.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Man.
- 48:25Speaker 11: So around this time, Man, it was a lot of emotions. Man,
- 48:27Speaker 11: it was Man, it was hard to explain. Man, it's anxious, nervous,
- 48:32Speaker 11: you know, just just what saying. You know, you never
- 48:34Speaker 11: know if he was gonna get picking out. You know,
- 48:35Speaker 11: it's different coming from high school to college where you
- 48:37Speaker 11: get to pick where school you want to go to,
- 48:39Speaker 11: and but now it's the complete opposite. You know, Teams
- 48:42Speaker 11: got to see if they like you, you know what
- 48:43Speaker 11: I'm saying. So I feel like that was that was
- 48:45Speaker 11: the big difference for me feeling, you know, just coming
- 48:49Speaker 11: into the drive, you know.
- 48:50Speaker 7: So, Man, I ended up just being with.
- 48:52Speaker 11: My family around the time, man up, you know, getting
- 48:54Speaker 11: the draft house, being with my family, man, being my
- 48:58Speaker 11: loved ones. I feel like that that really helped, y'all,
- 49:00Speaker 11: you know, and just talking to my mom, my parents,
- 49:03Speaker 11: you know, it just been telling me, you know, whatever,
- 49:05Speaker 11: team get me, Man, just make sure you you go
- 49:07Speaker 11: and you know, make your Martin have fun with it,
- 49:09Speaker 11: you know, just thank God for it all, you know,
- 49:11Speaker 11: and just have fun.
- 49:12Speaker 7: You know, the same game be playing your entire life.
- 49:14Speaker 7: You know, it's just at the highest level.
- 49:17Speaker 11: You know, it's something you've been dreaming about your entire
- 49:18Speaker 11: life and it's finally here, you know, So taking a
- 49:21Speaker 11: round with it, man, you know, take advantage of your opportunities.
- 49:24Speaker 1: What teams did you meet with? And was the Texans
- 49:27Speaker 1: one of those teams you thought might pop up and
- 49:29Speaker 1: draft you.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Actually, I was meeting with a lot of teams, man.
- 49:33Speaker 11: I met with the Tennessee Titians a lot, Jacksonville to
- 49:37Speaker 11: do a couple of times, man, New York Giants, Yeah, Houston.
- 49:44Speaker 7: I ended up meeting with Houston, like it was later, man,
- 49:47Speaker 7: and the interview was like five minutes. You know.
- 49:50Speaker 11: They just asked me how I was doing, how I
- 49:51Speaker 11: was feeling, you know, and it was good. You know,
- 49:54Speaker 11: they like like my game things like that.
- 49:56Speaker 4: So it was short.
- 49:57Speaker 7: It was short and sweet.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Man.
- 49:58Speaker 7: It wasn't nothing nothing too.
- 50:00Speaker 11: But I feel like just around that time, I wasn't
- 50:02Speaker 11: expecting you know, the Houston Houston Teyson is a pick ups.
- 50:06Speaker 7: Man, pick me.
- 50:07Speaker 11: You know, it was just it's a blessing you because
- 50:09Speaker 11: around that time, you know, Jacksonville there was you know,
- 50:12Speaker 11: they was interviewing me a lot, you know, like every day.
- 50:15Speaker 11: It's hard questions, you know, just things like that. So
- 50:18Speaker 11: I kind of thought, you know, he was gonna be Tennessee, Jacksonville.
- 50:21Speaker 11: Jacksonville is pretty hard to with the interviews, you know,
- 50:24Speaker 11: accident asking me a lot of questions.
- 50:26Speaker 7: You know, asking about the family and stuff.
- 50:28Speaker 11: So I really thought I was gonna either Jacksonville Tennessee
- 50:30Speaker 11: around this time for sure, but not jackson is definitely
- 50:33Speaker 11: surprising me. Man, you know that was my team.
- 50:35Speaker 7: I was not expecting. You know, they kept a short
- 50:39Speaker 7: interview and ended up picking.
- 50:42Speaker 4: That's it.
