- 0:15Speaker 1: Okay, peace and love everybody, peace and love. Yes, my
- 0:19Speaker 1: name is Ringo and I'm here to make you aware
- 0:23Speaker 1: on the 21st of September, it's the International Day and
- 0:29Speaker 1: Moment of Peace. So I'm here on behalf of the
- 0:33Speaker 1: UN General Secretary to let you know that at noon
- 0:39Speaker 1: on the 21st that we can have a moment of
- 0:42Speaker 1: silence for peace. I'm going to have my moment now. Oh,
- 0:48Speaker 1: I feel good. Peace and love, everybody.
- 0:54Speaker 2: You're watching the Peace Day, global internet broadcast celebrating the
- 0:58Speaker 2: United Nations International Day of Peace.
- 1:02Speaker 3: So today I want everyone here to commit to join
- 1:06Speaker 3: the quest for peace. Go forward in the struggle for
- 1:11Speaker 3: peace with passion and compassion The future of this world
- 1:18Speaker 3: is in your hands.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Maybe we've been looking for peace in the wrong place,
- 1:26Speaker 4: as something the world must become, when perhaps the world
- 1:31Speaker 4: is always becoming what we bring to it. Every thought,
- 1:37Speaker 4: every interaction, every choice, moving from one of us to another.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Until what begins within becomes something we create together. In
- 1:50Speaker 4: Times Square, we felt that possibility. Not a perfect world,
- 1:56Speaker 4: but thousands of people remembering that we are not separate
- 1:59Speaker 4: from the world we wish to change. We are creating it.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Together.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Peace starts within.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Let's all thank, big time, the borough president of Manhattan,
- 2:19Speaker 5: Brad Holyman Segal.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Because without him, we could not come here.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Very simple, okay?
- 2:31Speaker 6: It's told us to get back to normal But normal's
- 2:37Speaker 6: so far from my mind I'm looking for some kind
- 2:41Speaker 6: of closure.
- 2:45Speaker 1: To leave all this sadness behind.
- 2:47Speaker 7: I've always been a friend for quite a while. And
- 2:51Speaker 7: to be able to sing with her has been a
- 2:55Speaker 7: joy for me. And to sing this particular song, because
- 2:59Speaker 7: it was something that came from her heart, and it
- 3:03Speaker 7: said everything she wanted to say, I felt so privileged
- 3:08Speaker 7: and so proud to be able to do that for her.
- 3:11Speaker 6: And you saw.
- 3:14Speaker 4: The guiding light.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Oh, peace like a river flowing on. Sweet peace. Sweet peace.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Wash me down, Lord. Oh, wash me clean, Lord.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Wash me clean.
- 3:35Speaker 7: Wash me clean.
- 3:38Speaker 6: In your living water.
- 3:39Speaker 8: He is the answer.
- 3:41Speaker 6: To all questions. To all prayers.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And to all pleas.
- 4:14Speaker 4: In desperation.
- 4:16Speaker 6: Desperation. Upward to the soul and mind.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Soul and mind.
- 4:23Speaker 6: He is peace.
- 4:26Speaker 8: He is peace.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Like a river. Like a river. He is peace.
- 4:31Speaker 2: He is peace.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Here we go baby, let's play kissing good kissing good.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I want to shout out to my beautiful friend, Reverend
- 5:02Speaker 2: Paul Slackus, who's produced this wonderful event of peace and
- 5:06Speaker 2: love for 24 years. A lot of work goes into this.
- 5:10Speaker 2: We had a little situation today, but the show goes
- 5:12Speaker 2: on thanks to his heart and the whole team here.
- 5:15Speaker 2: We love you, Paul. My name is John Pasquale, although
- 5:17Speaker 2: many of you know me as Soho Johnny. It's an
- 5:20Speaker 2: honor to be here today to speak about peace, compassion,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and the importance of helping one another. I grew up
- 5:27Speaker 2: in the Bronx where music became one of my great
- 5:29Speaker 2: passions of my life, which taught me that people from
- 5:32Speaker 2: completely different backgrounds could come together in harmony. As an entrepreneur,
- 5:36Speaker 2: I did real estate, particularly in Soho, through peprealestate.com, which
- 5:40Speaker 2: provides commercial pop-ups and long-term locations all throughout Soho West Village.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Real estate has never only been about storefronts. It's about
- 5:48Speaker 2: people and communities. My love of music eventually brought me
- 5:52Speaker 2: into entertainment, producing events and promoting artists through Tribeca Records,
- 5:56Speaker 2: New Era Music. However, one of the most important chapters
- 5:59Speaker 2: of my life came from one of the most painful.
- 6:03Speaker 2: During the pandemic, I lost my mom, like many of
- 6:06Speaker 2: us have lost loved ones. She taught me that kindness
- 6:09Speaker 2: is never wasted and that when someone needs help, you
- 6:12Speaker 2: do what you can. It's a mandate, it's an obligation
- 6:15Speaker 2: of our humanity.
- 6:21Speaker 6: To the Lord Jesus Christ On that day We will
- 6:31Speaker 6: sing Holy, holy, holy, holy On that day We'll bow.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Down in the light.
- 7:11Speaker 9: The Gold Ribbon Tech Initiative, we take your gently used
- 7:15Speaker 9: or old technology, we refurbish it or sell it, and
- 7:18Speaker 9: we replace it with a family. which is what we're
- 7:21Speaker 9: doing today. So today we're going to offer Dream Jefferson
- 7:24Speaker 9: and iMac for beating his, he's been, how long have
- 7:28Speaker 9: you been cancer free?
- 7:30Speaker 8: Only for like four months so far.
- 7:33Speaker 9: He's been four months cancer free, everyone. Give it up
- 7:35Speaker 9: for Dream. Yeah, we're the Dream Team up here, everybody.
- 7:41Speaker 2: We're the Dream Team up here.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Thank you all.
- 7:45Speaker 7: And if you want to support the Kiana Foundation, you
- 7:48Speaker 7: can see our logos there.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Find us at kianafoundation.org.
- 7:52Speaker 8: Times Square, New York, and all y'all for being here.
- 7:55Speaker 8: God bless you.
- 7:56Speaker 9: Yay.
- 7:56Speaker 8: So my name is Heidi Little, and I decided a
- 8:03Speaker 8: couple of weeks ago I was going to move into
- 8:04Speaker 8: Aria Lightness, which is a stage name that I made
- 8:07Speaker 8: for a musical in 2017.
- 8:09Speaker 5: So.
- 8:12Speaker 8: I'm a part of something called We the World Tour.
- 8:15Speaker 8: And for the last 30 years, I kind of pioneered
- 8:18Speaker 8: social-emotional learning in 1993, if you all have heard about
- 8:21Speaker 8: that education system, connecting people with the heart, the inner
- 8:25Speaker 8: guidance system, connecting with our purpose, gifts, and mission. And
- 8:30Speaker 8: We the World Tour, I've also been the volunteer director
- 8:32Speaker 8: of International Children's Month for 14 years.
- 8:35Speaker 5: And.
- 8:38Speaker 8: I got together with Ludwig Nobel from the Nobel Peace
- 8:42Speaker 8: Prize family, my co-producer Lawrence Freiberg, who was Michael Jackson's
- 8:47Speaker 8: director of management for his studios for 25 years, and
- 8:51Speaker 8: Rick Ulfick from We The World, and Rick Lukens from
- 8:55Speaker 8: Live Aid, and we've all joined forces to create this
- 8:58Speaker 8: We The World tour.
- 8:59Speaker 6: Hello, New York.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Great to see you. We're going to try something a
- 9:03Speaker 5: little different. We're gonna do what's like a fairytale, but
- 9:07Speaker 5: a sustainable fairytale, or sustainable. So let me start. Once
- 9:12Speaker 5: upon a time, on the first day of spring, that's
- 9:16Speaker 5: chapter one, the children woke up early, as they often do.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Little Zoe reached the meadow first, still wet with morning dew.
- 9:27Speaker 5: She waited for her favorite sound, the bumblebee's buzz, but
- 9:31Speaker 5: no sound came round. No bees, no birds, no butterflies.
- 9:37Speaker 5: The meadow stood still. Something was missing from here all
- 9:42Speaker 5: the way to the hill. You'd think the grown-ups would
- 9:46Speaker 5: have realized it upon sight, but adults are busy from
- 9:50Speaker 5: morning until night.
- 9:52Speaker 6: To not just imagine.
- 10:17Speaker 8: But do.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Imagine all four people living life in peace.
- 10:32Speaker 9: You may say I'm a dreamer, but
- 10:39Speaker 6: I'm not the only one.
