- 0:01Whenever an individual has any kind of powerful emotion or
- 0:05experience. He tends to lose himself in that
- 0:09experience, he becomes angry or lustful or ecstatic or joyful
- 0:17and the feeling takes over his entire being.
- 0:20And for a time he is that Force the same thing can and does tend
- 0:27to happen with spiritual experiences or particularly
- 0:31those that are intense and which demand attention when they occur
- 0:37The Experience fills the body life, mind of the external being
- 0:43as the spiritual Seeker cultivates, the growth of
- 0:46Consciousness, beyond the limits of the body life, mine complex.
- 0:50However, he becomes aware of a separation between the true
- 0:54inner, being the psychic being or Soul nature and the external
- 0:59being Or else he finds that he takes a separate standpoint as a
- 1:05witness of the nature either way, he is able to observe the
- 1:10action without losing himself entirely in the experience.
- 1:15It is through this shift of standpoint that when also
- 1:19realizes that there are always further Heights to scale,
- 1:23greater experiences and larger opportunities as the
- 1:28Consciousness continues to grow and evolve.
- 1:32It is also helpful if the secret is able to hold this separation
- 1:36of awareness so that he does not become imbalanced and lose all
- 1:41sense of proportion and the varying needs that are Rise to
- 1:45interact with the world and deal with time place and
- 1:50circumstances in a realistic and practical way, something that
- 1:56may not occur. If the Seeker becomes too
- 1:59attached to a particular experience and what he believes
- 2:03it signifies for instance, there are individuals who experience
- 2:09the Oneness of all existence and therefore say, I am God.
- 2:15As long as they recognize that everyone else and each event and
- 2:20circumstances. Also God They can find a way to
- 2:24maintain balance. However, if they fail to
- 2:29maintain that balanced view, they may put themselves or
- 2:33others In Harm's Way or otherwise, do things, which are
- 2:38not in keeping with the harmony in their surroundings.
- 2:43The mother comments on the statement.
- 2:46Quote, one must always be greater than one's experience
- 2:49and quote. The mother, observes quote,
- 2:54whatever, maybe the nature, the strength and wonder of an
- 2:58experience. You must not be dominated by it
- 3:01to such an extent that it governs, your entire being and
- 3:06you lose your balance and your contact with a reasonable and
- 3:10calm. Attitude.
- 3:12That is to say when you enter in some way into contact with the
- 3:16force or Consciousness, which surpasses yours instead of Being
- 3:21entirely dominated by this Consciousness or force.
- 3:26You must always be able to remind yourself that.
- 3:30It is only one experience among thousands and thousands of
- 3:34others and that consequently its nature is not absolute.
- 3:39It is relative, no matter how beautiful it, maybe you can and
- 3:45ought to have better ones. However, exceptional it, maybe
- 3:50there are Other still more marvelous and however, High it
- 3:56may be, you can always rise still higher in future.
- 4:02So instead of losing one's head, one place is the experience in
- 4:06the chain of development and keeps a healthy physical
- 4:09balance. So as not to lose the sense or
- 4:14relativity with ordinary life in this way, there is no risk.
- 4:21The means one, who knows how to do this, will always find it
- 4:26very easy but for one who doesn't know it is perhaps a
- 4:30little a little trouble. So there is a means, it is never
- 4:36to lose the idea of the total self-giving to the grace, which
- 4:41is the expression of the Supreme, when when gives
- 4:44oneself, when one surrenders, and Trust oneself entirely to
- 4:50that, which is Above beyond all creation.
- 4:54And when instead of seeking any personal Advantage from the
- 4:58experience when makes an offering of it to the divine
- 5:02grace and knows that it is from this, that the experience comes
- 5:09and that is it is to this, that the result of the experience
- 5:14must be given back. Then one is quite safe.
- 5:19In other words? No ambition no vanity.
- 5:24No pride of sincere self giving a sincere humility and one is
- 5:32sheltered from all Danger. There you are.
- 5:35This is what I call being greater than one's experience.
- 5:40In quote, reference SRI aurobindo and the mother growing
- 5:46within the psychology of inner development.
