- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:18Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. On this Wednesday, August Ben Hope
- 0:22Speaker 2: everybody's having a great day so far as we get you,
- 0:26Speaker 2: you know, headed towards the weekend. We're right here at
- 0:28Speaker 2: the midwek five O two three eight four fourteen fifty.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You want to call in five two four one four
- 0:33Speaker 2: fourteen fifty. You want to text in on the Whiskey
- 0:35Speaker 2: Thief text line? Are you tweet me at Just the
- 0:37Speaker 2: Cat Radio? Justin? Good morning? Good morning. Uh. By the way,
- 0:43Speaker 2: great show right there. I mean, that was I thoroughly
- 0:48Speaker 2: enjoyed hearing you talk about that. Hey, you know, like
- 0:51Speaker 2: I said on our cross Talk when I heard you
- 0:54Speaker 2: you were going to do that yesterday, and when you
- 0:56Speaker 2: told me your show topic, and I'm like, man, that
- 0:59Speaker 2: is awesome, a great idea.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Certainly a lot of good laughs through that segment right there.
- 1:06Speaker 2: But anyway, I could you could hear me laughing? Couldn't?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh sorry about that? Oh really you don't okay,
- 1:14Speaker 2: you don't laugh quietly? No, I there there is nothing
- 1:18Speaker 2: I do quiet okay. Just just to forewarn you. Uh,
- 1:21Speaker 2: but yeah, there is absolutely nothing I think. I don't
- 1:24Speaker 2: know if I've ever done anything quiet. I just don't
- 1:27Speaker 2: know how to be I don't know how to whisper.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I don't know how to talk low. I don't know
- 1:30Speaker 2: how to do any of that kind of stuff. I'm
- 1:32Speaker 2: just listening. I'm just me so anyway. But uh, all
- 1:36Speaker 2: I like to do is put a smile on people's faces.
- 1:38Speaker 2: So when I laugh, some people laugh. When I laugh,
- 1:42Speaker 2: it kind of irritates some people. I certainly know some
- 1:46Speaker 2: ministers I didn't like my laugh. Oh boy, Yeah, I
- 1:51Speaker 2: was disruptive. Yeah. I had a minister called me out
- 1:54Speaker 2: in the middle of Sunday service one day. Really, oh yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 2: totally called me out. In the funny part it is,
- 2:00Speaker 2: I never heard it. I just kept talking, just like
- 2:03Speaker 2: like whatever my dad did, though, and that was all
- 2:06Speaker 2: that needed. My mom especially, I could get away with
- 2:10Speaker 2: making my dad mad. I couldn't get away with making
- 2:12Speaker 2: my mom mad because I knew I could make my
- 2:14Speaker 2: dad laugh. I was the same. Yeah, my mom, she'd laugh,
- 2:19Speaker 2: but I knew I had hurt her feelings or upset her.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And that's the one thing I never want to do
- 2:25Speaker 2: is upset my mom my dad could always and I
- 2:28Speaker 2: could always laugh about it. But anyway, can I ask
- 2:30Speaker 2: a question? This is one thing that's like I really
- 2:34Speaker 2: don't understand. So I'm driving down a road this morning
- 2:40Speaker 2: in the dark. That's what we do. We drive on
- 2:42Speaker 2: the roads, yep. And there's a set of gentlemen. Now
- 2:48Speaker 2: it might be ladies out there, I don't know. I
- 2:49Speaker 2: couldn't tell riding their bicycles, okay, not for for exercise.
- 2:56Speaker 2: You know, those guys that have to wear all the
- 2:58Speaker 2: same outfits that we've talked about in the dark, Okay,
- 3:02Speaker 2: scared the living daylights out of me because I couldn't
- 3:06Speaker 2: see them. I had a really nice, bright, bright light
- 3:09Speaker 2: out in the front, but on the back nothing. Don't
- 3:12Speaker 2: you think that's just a tad dangerous, aren't they supposed
- 3:16Speaker 2: to have one on the front and the back. I
- 3:19Speaker 2: saw it on the front, didn't see it on the back.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Driving down River Road. I don't know why we all
- 3:25Speaker 2: have to drive River Road. Okay, just to let you know, bicyclists,
- 3:28Speaker 2: the worst time to ride on the River Road is
- 3:31Speaker 2: in high traffic time, like in the morning or in
- 3:35Speaker 2: the evening around rush hour.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Stop.
- 3:38Speaker 2: There are plenty of parks out here, just just go
- 3:40Speaker 2: ride there park. None as beautiful as River Road. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 2: but why do you have to ride at rush hour
- 3:47Speaker 2: or in the dark. Why do you have to complain
- 3:48Speaker 2: about them exercise. I'm not complaining about the exercise. I'm
- 3:52Speaker 2: complaining that it scared me the heck out of me
- 3:54Speaker 2: and I could have hit one of them, did you No,
- 3:57Speaker 2: Thank goodness, I didn't. But I mean, last minute, I
- 3:59Speaker 2: had to veer over to the other side of the road,
- 4:02Speaker 2: and if there was a car there, I would have
- 4:03Speaker 2: hit it. I mean, isn't that your job as the
- 4:05Speaker 2: driver to be cognizant of everything around I could not,
- 4:09Speaker 2: literally could not see them. That's because until I came
- 4:12Speaker 2: up exactly so, until I came right there up on them.
- 4:16Speaker 2: So you're trying to blame me, but it's like, wait
- 4:19Speaker 2: a minute, dude. I mean it just irritates me. You
- 4:21Speaker 2: gotta slow down. Also, I was driving fast. I'm glad
- 4:27Speaker 2: you were in the car to see how fast I was.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I was going. Truthfully, I was going about what three
- 4:31Speaker 2: or four over the speed limit? I'm telling yeah, whatever,
- 4:35Speaker 2: three or four What is the speed limit? What is
- 4:39Speaker 2: the limit you can go over the speed limit without
- 4:41Speaker 2: getting a ticket. I've always heard, and Jamie could chime
- 4:45Speaker 2: in on this, I would like that. But I've always
- 4:47Speaker 2: heard eight you're great nine your mind. Oh really, I
- 4:51Speaker 2: always assumed it was around seven. I didn't realize it
- 4:55Speaker 2: was eight. That's just the phrase that I've always a
- 4:59Speaker 2: great in your mind. I typically i'll stay four to
- 5:04Speaker 2: six anywhere in there, unless I'm really in a hurry,
- 5:07Speaker 2: then I'll push it a little bit more. But but
- 5:09Speaker 2: you know what, you know, we've talked about this. Before
- 5:11Speaker 2: you get on the water Stitting Expressway, you're going five
- 5:14Speaker 2: or six, seven miles over the speed limit and people
- 5:16Speaker 2: are flying. Oh yeah, yeah, you look like you're not
- 5:18Speaker 2: even moving. Have you noticed a difference in traffic now
- 5:21Speaker 2: that part of I sixty five is opened up? None?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Oh really, none, I have. I mean, I think it's
- 5:28Speaker 2: just the times that I travel. I wasn't really affected
- 5:31Speaker 2: by the traffic anyways. And yeah, I just saw I
- 5:34Speaker 2: haven't really seen the difference, Okay, all right, Well to me,
- 5:38Speaker 2: I have, and I was, quite honestly, I'm kind of surprised.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I figured I figured two lanes. I was like, oh man,
- 5:43Speaker 2: it's still gonna be miserable. But I've gone up and
- 5:46Speaker 2: down the I sixty five a few times now and
- 5:49Speaker 2: it's been fairly nice. How then bridges good bridges, I
- 5:52Speaker 2: guess so. I mean the mistake they made is that
- 5:55Speaker 2: they didn't expand to make another lane. I just don't
- 5:58Speaker 2: know why you would go on to all this trouble
- 6:01Speaker 2: and not make more lanes. Going I sixty five downtown Louisville.
- 6:06Speaker 2: It needs two more lanes on each side. So instead
- 6:09Speaker 2: of it being what is it now, three or four lanes?
- 6:11Speaker 2: How many lanes do they have going? I don't even remember.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It's three, right, it's three, okay, it needs to be
- 6:16Speaker 2: four or five lanes. It just does. Because you know,
- 6:19Speaker 2: when you're coming I seventy five from Eatown, it's like
- 6:22Speaker 2: four or five lanes, and then it goes right there
- 6:25Speaker 2: at the waters and it goes down to three. It's like,
- 6:27Speaker 2: why are you doing that? You're going to all this
- 6:30Speaker 2: effort to close down the expressway and it's still not expanding.
- 6:37Speaker 2: But anyway, that's just that's just kind of how I feel.
- 6:40Speaker 2: There's more complaints. You want to get off your chest
- 6:43Speaker 2: while we're in I mean, no, no, it's not complaining
- 6:47Speaker 2: I'm just asking bikers to not ride in the morning
- 6:50Speaker 2: when you don't have lights, or asking the Highway commission
- 6:53Speaker 2: to watch two five. It only makes sense. God having
- 6:59Speaker 2: a good mood and sudden you're right. I just like, golly,
- 7:02Speaker 2: set negative Nancy over here. No, I'm not. I'm not
- 7:07Speaker 2: the old man, but am I really? I mean I
- 7:10Speaker 2: went and saw the dermatologist yesterday and she said a
- 7:14Speaker 2: few comments to me. It's like, oh my gosh, man,
- 7:16Speaker 2: you're so funny. I to you one time and it
- 7:19Speaker 2: gets in your head. I disrupted that whole doctor's office yesterday.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I mean, they were all laughing at me, and I started.
- 7:29Speaker 2: When I left, the lady asked me, how was your
- 7:31Speaker 2: first appointment here at our dermatology office? I said, I
- 7:36Speaker 2: yelled it. I said it was miserable. Everybody laughed at me,
- 7:39Speaker 2: and then they all turned around and started laughing at
- 7:41Speaker 2: me again, and they did It's just like, oh my gosh,
- 7:45Speaker 2: the lady, mister Ben, and how are you doing today?
- 7:47Speaker 2: I said, I'm not happy I'm in a doctor's office.
- 7:49Speaker 2: She started laughing at me, sir, well exactly, But I
- 7:53Speaker 2: was just kidding with her. I was just having fun
- 7:55Speaker 2: with her, so anyway, because she asked, sir, may I
- 7:57Speaker 2: have your name and birth date? And it's the first
- 8:00Speaker 2: thing out of my mouth, is my name birth date?
- 8:02Speaker 2: And I say, properly, ask her, what is your name
- 8:05Speaker 2: in birth date? And she kind of looked at me.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I said, I bet nobody's ever asked you that question.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It made her smile. So I don't know. It's just
- 8:14Speaker 2: I was in a great mood yesterday. I'm in a
- 8:16Speaker 2: great mood today and already you're complaining because I'm complaining.
- 8:19Speaker 2: But I just it was only a suggestion. I just
- 8:22Speaker 2: wish they had made more lanes on I sixty. It
- 8:24Speaker 2: would make sense. It would make sense. So anyway, maybe
- 8:28Speaker 2: it has something to do with the bridges. That's the
- 8:30Speaker 2: only thing I can think of. But then why didn't
- 8:31Speaker 2: they make those bridges more lanes or with the upper
- 8:34Speaker 2: I know with the tunnel that they did out in
- 8:36Speaker 2: the East End that they can make it one more
- 8:39Speaker 2: lane going each way, just take one away one of
- 8:41Speaker 2: the emergency lanes. I think they did that with the
- 8:44Speaker 2: bridge as well. But anyway, it would be interesting to
- 8:48Speaker 2: find out if somebody from the state or the government
- 8:52Speaker 2: knew how much it costs to create one more lane
- 8:55Speaker 2: on a bridge. I bet they have that math madically known.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Oh for sure, yeah, wouldn't that. But also that probably fluctuates.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'm sure it fu fu fluctuates. But I gotta be
- 9:09Speaker 2: careful with that fluctuates every year. Okay. I got to
- 9:13Speaker 2: make sure I put that l in there because I
- 9:14Speaker 2: don't want the other part. Man. All right, So yesterday
- 9:19Speaker 2: I thought about you, justin Kaylen one team, justin Kaylen
- 9:25Speaker 2: uh the entire time I read this. USA Today revealed
- 9:29Speaker 2: the coaches top twenty five pole. And before I say anything,
- 9:36Speaker 2: I want to know, because you're the Eyeu guy, I
- 9:38Speaker 2: want to know what you thought of the coach's pole
- 9:42Speaker 2: before I go anywhere. What if I told you I
- 9:45Speaker 2: didn't see it? Oh, you haven't even seen it? Wow? Idea.
- 9:49Speaker 2: All right, let's just talk about the top ten. Are
- 9:52Speaker 2: you ready? All right? Number one Ohio State? Okay, Number
- 9:56Speaker 2: two Oregon, three, Georgia, four, Texas five Notre Dame six, Indiana, seven, Miami, eight,
- 10:05Speaker 2: Texas A and M nine Oklahoma and ten Old Miss.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I don't really have a problem with any of it.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You don't really? Am I missing something there? Yeah? You
- 10:17Speaker 2: are same again? Real quick? Ohio State Oregon, Georgia, Texas,
- 10:22Speaker 2: Notre Dame, Indiana, Miami, Texas, A and m Oklahoma Old Miss. Yeah,
- 10:28Speaker 2: I don't. I don't have a problem with that. I
- 10:30Speaker 2: really thought you would have a problem with IU being
- 10:33Speaker 2: at number six. Honestly, that doesn't even bother me anymore
- 10:36Speaker 2: because everybody's just constantly going to sleep on Indiana and
- 10:40Speaker 2: that's fine. You kind of like that. I love that,
- 10:43Speaker 2: and I know, I know Kurt Signetti loves it. Yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 2: because I looked at Notre Dame being number five, and
- 10:49Speaker 2: I'm like, they weren't even in the playoffs last year.
- 10:52Speaker 2: How do they justify Notre Dame being five because it's
- 10:57Speaker 2: Notre Dame. So we're ranking them because of their name,
- 11:03Speaker 2: not the football team. No, I mean, I think that's
- 11:06Speaker 2: what you just said. I do think they have pretty
- 11:08Speaker 2: high expectations for this year, and the fact that their
- 11:12Speaker 2: schedules as much of a cake walk as it is,
- 11:15Speaker 2: that you might as well put them up there now
- 11:17Speaker 2: because they're gonna be there at the end of the
- 11:18Speaker 2: year anyways. So this is an indicator that strength of
- 11:22Speaker 2: schedules should mean something. I don't think so, No, And
- 11:26Speaker 2: I'm not why is that and I'm not saying that
- 11:29Speaker 2: that's what happened here, but that's looking at it from
- 11:32Speaker 2: the outside, that would make sense. Right, So, you don't
- 11:34Speaker 2: believe strength of schedule should mean anything, not in a
- 11:38Speaker 2: in a preseason poll. No, why not a preseason poll
- 11:43Speaker 2: when it shouldn't end season poll. I don't know. You're
- 11:48Speaker 2: making my head hurt. I'm trying to listen. I think
- 11:52Speaker 2: it should matter. I think it should matter very much.
- 11:55Speaker 2: So when your strength of schedule is so light and
- 11:59Speaker 2: then all of a sudden near ranked in the in
- 12:01Speaker 2: the top five, I just think that's a that's a
- 12:05Speaker 2: tragedy to all the other schools out there that are
- 12:09Speaker 2: playing legitimate schedules. But I don't I don't think in
- 12:13Speaker 2: the case of Notre Dame, they're ranked five because of
- 12:16Speaker 2: that reason. I truthfully truly think that they've got high expectations.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Everyone's really excited about Notre Dame and what they could
- 12:24Speaker 2: put out on the field this year. And yeah, they're
- 12:26Speaker 2: gonna have a great record, But do they are they
- 12:29Speaker 2: gonna have the team that can can match that and
- 12:32Speaker 2: produce when it comes to the playoffs. Okay, that's what
- 12:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I think that's just a tragedy to
- 12:37Speaker 2: every team that's ranked. I don't think Notre Dame should
- 12:39Speaker 2: be in the top fifteen. I think they should be
- 12:42Speaker 2: around twenty eighteen, nineteen twenties, where if I'm being completely
- 12:47Speaker 2: honest and taking my complete bias out of it, that's
- 12:50Speaker 2: where I think they should be. I know, I'm a
- 12:53Speaker 2: little disappointed. I mean, I you as the defending champion. Now, granted,
- 12:58Speaker 2: I get it, they have a new quarterback coming in,
- 13:01Speaker 2: they have a lot of new stuff coming in. They
- 13:03Speaker 2: lost I want to say, nineteen pieces, nineteen players from
- 13:06Speaker 2: last year. Maybe they shouldn't even be ranked in the
- 13:08Speaker 2: top ten. Oh, they absolutely sho Why is that If
- 13:10Speaker 2: they've got nineteen new pieces coming that's half the team
- 13:12Speaker 2: because we replaced those nineteen pieces with four stars. But
- 13:16Speaker 2: you've never seen them play. We've never had four stars either,
- 13:19Speaker 2: and we just want a champion. Well, Kentucky got a
- 13:21Speaker 2: whole bunch of four stars coming in there, so maybe
- 13:23Speaker 2: they should be ranked as well. And they're not even ranked. Well,
- 13:26Speaker 2: you got to see it from will Stein first. I
- 13:28Speaker 2: gotta see it from IU first. Look, if you're telling
- 13:31Speaker 2: me that Kentucky's ranked preseason next year, I'm not going
- 13:34Speaker 2: to be surprised by that. Okay, I don't know. Do
- 13:38Speaker 2: you think Ohio State should be number one? I really
- 13:40Speaker 2: thought Georgia should have been number one. Georgia, Texas, Ohio
- 13:44Speaker 2: State definitively is the best best team in the country.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Why is that this season? Because what I mean, look
- 13:50Speaker 2: at their roster, Look at look at you. I'm talking
- 13:53Speaker 2: about four stars. They got several five stars. Their whole
- 13:57Speaker 2: rosters five and four stars. Or get his number two.
- 13:59Speaker 2: You don't have a problem with that. I'm sure that
- 14:01Speaker 2: I kind of do have a little bit of an
- 14:03Speaker 2: issue with I don't. I don't know that they should
- 14:04Speaker 2: be that high, but I don't think so either. I
- 14:06Speaker 2: don't really have a problem with They just lost their
- 14:08Speaker 2: offensive coordinator. I'm trying to think where you went. I
- 14:12Speaker 2: can't think right off hand. Oh yeah, you went to Kentucky.
- 14:15Speaker 2: They did bring their quarterback though, who was a Heisman
- 14:18Speaker 2: Finals last year? Yeah, without their OC? Yeah, where is
- 14:21Speaker 2: that guy? I forgot Texas, A and M. So out
- 14:25Speaker 2: of the top ten, you've got one, two, how many three?
- 14:34Speaker 2: Three Big ten teams? Out of the SEC You've got one, two, three,
- 14:43Speaker 2: four five. Does it bother you that five of the
- 14:47Speaker 2: teams are SEC, because here we go again. Not only that,
- 14:51Speaker 2: but out of the top twenty five, you've got nine
- 14:54Speaker 2: teams from the SEC. The Big ten has eight, four
- 14:59Speaker 2: from the Big twelve, and only three from the ACC.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Are you trying to rile me up? I'm not no, no, no, no,
- 15:06Speaker 2: no no, I'm I promise you I'm not trying to
- 15:08Speaker 2: rile you up. But a lot of people are riled
- 15:10Speaker 2: up that there's way too much love for the SEC
- 15:13Speaker 2: and it continues every year. That's what I was gonna say.
- 15:16Speaker 2: This isn't a new thing, no, that you read off
- 15:19Speaker 2: those rankings, and I'm not surprised at all because that's
- 15:22Speaker 2: how it is every single year it is. And why
- 15:25Speaker 2: is that? Why does the SEC get the most love?
- 15:28Speaker 2: Because I value your opinion because you're outside looking at
- 15:32Speaker 2: I mean, I do I think it's the best football
- 15:34Speaker 2: league in there, you do the country even more so.
- 15:36Speaker 2: But but my argument would be, how can you say
- 15:40Speaker 2: it's the best football conference in the country because and
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm trying to play Devil's advocate here because I agree
- 15:46Speaker 2: with you. But on the other hand, if what conference
- 15:50Speaker 2: has won the last three championships? Yeah, I mean, I
- 15:54Speaker 2: mean Is it because it's more even within the SEC,
- 15:57Speaker 2: and more teams are better?
- 15:58Speaker 3: Are are?
- 15:59Speaker 2: Are? Is it? Because? What? I can't figure it out?
- 16:05Speaker 2: To me, it's just so it's not only about championships, right,
- 16:10Speaker 2: But if you want to make it about championships this
- 16:13Speaker 2: decade or this century, rather the SEC has dominated. They've
- 16:18Speaker 2: won what twenty of the twenty five You're right, I
- 16:22Speaker 2: mean they have been absolutely dominant in this in this century.
- 16:25Speaker 2: So you have to look at that and then just
- 16:27Speaker 2: like I've mentioned this in the past, but the pageantry
- 16:30Speaker 2: surrounding the games and the atmospheres that you get in
- 16:33Speaker 2: the SEC, it's just different. It's just different the level
- 16:36Speaker 2: of players. I do think the Big Ten has closed
- 16:41Speaker 2: the gap a lot in a lot of those regards,
- 16:43Speaker 2: but I still think the SEC is the past. Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 2: as far as basketball, who is the best? I would
- 16:49Speaker 2: say the exact opposite. I would say, to me, it's
- 16:52Speaker 2: still the Big Ten And the SEC has closed that gap,
- 16:56Speaker 2: and they're closer now than they've ever been. And you
- 16:58Speaker 2: could make the argument that the SEC is the premier
- 17:01Speaker 2: basketball conference. And I don't know that I have that
- 17:03Speaker 2: much of an argument to throw back at. And it's
- 17:05Speaker 2: really tough. And that's surprises because you know, for many
- 17:07Speaker 2: years it was the ACC. And I give them a
- 17:10Speaker 2: distant third, if not fourth. Yeah, they're just a top
- 17:13Speaker 2: to bottom. They're not strong enough. I think the Big
- 17:15Speaker 2: twelve is better in the in basketball than the ACC.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I agree with you. I think it's a big ten.
- 17:22Speaker 2: A very very very close second is the SEC. And
- 17:26Speaker 2: they've closed the gap completely. And I mean, if you
- 17:30Speaker 2: get another championship out of Florida this year, as much
- 17:33Speaker 2: as Vanderbilt has improved, Kentucky hopefully improves Alabama with natoates Texas,
- 17:41Speaker 2: I think, look at this, man, this is a basketball
- 17:44Speaker 2: It's a complete basketball conference that top to bottom. You
- 17:48Speaker 2: have a tough time deciding who's gonna be first all
- 17:52Speaker 2: the way to sixteenth. I mean, you really do. And
- 17:55Speaker 2: the ACC, no, man, I don't think so at all.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I think they are a very distant fourth. I don't know.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I think the ACC and Big twelve are pretty close.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Do you really? I don't know if I agree with that,
- 18:10Speaker 2: but I think the top to bottom Big twelve is
- 18:14Speaker 2: probably a little bit better. Yeah, but I do think
- 18:16Speaker 2: it is cool. Part I was probably surprised about the
- 18:18Speaker 2: most is old Miss I mean, they're getting a lot
- 18:20Speaker 2: of love without Lane Kiffin. I don't know if I
- 18:23Speaker 2: necessarily agree with that. I agree with probably where LSU
- 18:27Speaker 2: is ranked with Lane Kiffin at thirteen, but they could
- 18:31Speaker 2: very quickly move up if they if they have a
- 18:33Speaker 2: good year. I haven't necessarily looked at their their schedule.
- 18:38Speaker 2: But and then you got Tennessee way down at eighteen,
- 18:43Speaker 2: and rounding out the top twenty five from the SEC
- 18:47Speaker 2: is Missouri at twenty five. Here we go with what's
- 18:50Speaker 2: your buddy's name? There? You like Dorkowitz, that's it? Yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 2: I don't understand the continued love for him. So Florida
- 18:59Speaker 2: is outside looking in, and Louisville as well, just by
- 19:03Speaker 2: I was really surprised Louisville got more votes than Florida did.
- 19:07Speaker 2: I would take Florida away over U of l Florida's
- 19:10Speaker 2: kind of the They're the one team out there that
- 19:12Speaker 2: I just don't know what to expect because I like
- 19:16Speaker 2: Summer and I think that was a good hire for
- 19:19Speaker 2: them and a good move for his career. I just
- 19:22Speaker 2: I don't know what to expect coming into this year.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I don't either. It's going to be interesting to see
- 19:31Speaker 2: what John summerl can do. And the other part that
- 19:34Speaker 2: bothers me is that with him goes John, Oh shoot
- 19:41Speaker 2: Brad White. I mean that's the other part that exactly
- 19:45Speaker 2: that's the part. I was really disappointed that will Stein
- 19:49Speaker 2: wasn't able to keep Brad because I thought that would
- 19:51Speaker 2: be They got an war Stewart, which is a good keep.
- 19:55Speaker 2: But man, losing Brad White to Florida really bothered me.
- 20:01Speaker 2: It really does. And John Summral with Brad White, I mean,
- 20:06Speaker 2: that's that's gonna be a force to be reckoned with.
- 20:08Speaker 2: So anyway, hey, we gotta take our first break. You
- 20:10Speaker 2: want to call in five O two three four fourteen fifty.
- 20:13Speaker 2: If you want to text in on the Whiskey te
- 20:15Speaker 2: text line five O two four one four fourteen fifty,
- 20:18Speaker 2: which I'll get to your text as soon as we
- 20:19Speaker 2: get back, or you tweet me at just Cat Radio.
- 20:21Speaker 2: So stay right there. A lot more of let's get
- 20:24Speaker 2: justin upset. I'm not trying to I promise, I'm not
- 20:27Speaker 2: trying to stay right there.
- 20:29Speaker 3: This is just a cat to shoot. Set's right.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Did you know have you ever seen this video? By
- 21:12Speaker 2: the way, I didn't know you're gonna play this song
- 21:13Speaker 2: watching it right now? Ah, you're watching the video. Okay,
- 21:16Speaker 2: see the belly dancer, all right? The lead guitarist the edge,
- 21:21Speaker 2: that's his wife. Is that wild or what? Yeah? I
- 21:24Speaker 2: thought that was pretty cool, but exactly lucky him. Wouldn't
- 21:28Speaker 2: every man loved that's terrible to say. I don't know
- 21:31Speaker 2: what would every man love to have a belly dancer
- 21:34Speaker 2: to marry? I mean, what would every one? Let's keep
- 21:36Speaker 2: this fair because I don't want to be a chauvinistic pig. Okay,
- 21:40Speaker 2: what would every woman love in a man that we
- 21:44Speaker 2: don't know about as a man? Abs? You think it's Abs?
- 21:52Speaker 2: I that's one thing. I don't know how I keep
- 21:58Speaker 2: my wife if that's the case, and you're never in one. No,
- 22:03Speaker 2: not unless I go back to that scene. That is
- 22:05Speaker 2: not an answer I was expecting, and you just said
- 22:09Speaker 2: it with no hesitation. ABS. No, I don't think it's ABS.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I think my wife would just say a man that
- 22:17Speaker 2: brings home money. I mean just yeah, I mean that's
- 22:20Speaker 2: probably the right. You think that's it. Whereas we want
- 22:22Speaker 2: a belly dancer if we don't care about anything else,
- 22:26Speaker 2: I don't really want to bet, I swear I think
- 22:30Speaker 2: my wife has been killing me ever since we got married,
- 22:32Speaker 2: because all she does is bake, I mean, and cook
- 22:37Speaker 2: and just makes some of the greatest things you've ever
- 22:40Speaker 2: put in your mouth. You know there's a lot of
- 22:41Speaker 2: stories about that, right, What do you mean about husbands
- 22:44Speaker 2: or wives slowly poisoning each other over time?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Oh?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yes, yeah I do. And do you believe that? Yeah,
- 22:55Speaker 2: you do believe it? Yeah, not in your case, but no,
- 22:58Speaker 2: not in my case. Although I think she's make me diabetic.
- 23:01Speaker 2: But I listen. She we went to a restaurant quickly,
- 23:06Speaker 2: and she told me this after we went. Well, I
- 23:08Speaker 2: only came here because I knew you'd want to go
- 23:09Speaker 2: to Baskin Robins. And I'm like, Patricia, I don't want
- 23:13Speaker 2: Basking Robins. I know you're gonna think I'm not what
- 23:19Speaker 2: a reason is that terrible? And the funny part is,
- 23:24Speaker 2: I think that's the greatest ice cream in the world.
- 23:26Speaker 2: And I know it's probably the most chemically uh uh
- 23:29Speaker 2: and made up manufactured ice cream in the world. I
- 23:33Speaker 2: know there's other ice cream places here in Louisville. I
- 23:36Speaker 2: love Basking Robins. I know it's terrible. I just I
- 23:40Speaker 2: love the thought of her taking you to a restaurant, Yes,
- 23:42Speaker 2: just because of the dessert actor exactly, And I told her,
- 23:46Speaker 2: I said, no, we're not, and I refuse to go.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I said, now, look, and then I stopped myself. But
- 23:51Speaker 2: you didn't even take her hold on, hold on, hold on,
- 23:55Speaker 2: I said. And then I said, you're right exactly, because
- 23:57Speaker 2: I thought the exact same thing. As soon as I
- 24:00Speaker 2: said I said, oh, maybe she's just using me because
- 24:02Speaker 2: she wants to go there exactly. Well, she doesn't like
- 24:04Speaker 2: Basket Robbins. So I said, Patricia, I'll be glad to
- 24:08Speaker 2: go there if you want to go, and she said, no,
- 24:11Speaker 2: I really don't want it. You that you phrased the
- 24:14Speaker 2: question wrong, I did. How should I have phrased it?
- 24:17Speaker 2: You knew that she didn't like that place, then you
- 24:19Speaker 2: should have been like, well, since you want to go,
- 24:22Speaker 2: you clearly want ice cream. Where where do you want
- 24:25Speaker 2: it from? Yeah? Exactly, because she likes the place over
- 24:29Speaker 2: at Westport Village. I don't remember what the name of
- 24:31Speaker 2: it is. And then, uh, neither of us really like
- 24:34Speaker 2: the one based I'm not going to name them, but
- 24:37Speaker 2: the one based out of Cincinnati. Neither of us like it.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Do you really never met ice cream? I didn't like.
- 24:44Speaker 2: And I know this is weird. You've heard me have
- 24:47Speaker 2: this take. I don't like soft serve. I don't like
- 24:51Speaker 2: soft serve. I like the hard kind of ice cream.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I just to me, it tastes better. There's a flavor
- 25:00Speaker 2: to it. And I'm very picky on ice cream. You
- 25:03Speaker 2: know what, you want to know what my favorite ice
- 25:04Speaker 2: cream is? What's that the kind I make? I love
- 25:08Speaker 2: making ice cream. Prove it? Oh you want me to
- 25:11Speaker 2: prove it? Okay, prove it? Yeah? Sure, Oh yeah, it's exactly.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I won't bring breakfast tomorrow. We're gonna have ice cream
- 25:17Speaker 2: for breakfast. We're adults. We can do that, Okay, all right,
- 25:21Speaker 2: whatever you say. That's the best part of adulting. You
- 25:24Speaker 2: can eat whatever you want, whenever you want. But I'm trying.
- 25:27Speaker 2: But you know why, Look what's happening to us. I'm
- 25:30Speaker 2: trying to lose it and you're trying to get me
- 25:32Speaker 2: to gain it back like Patricia is doing to me
- 25:34Speaker 2: right now. No, can't do that. Hey, by the way,
- 25:37Speaker 2: can I let you know this real quick? So just
- 25:39Speaker 2: ran across the video on Twitter. Yeah, Valdosta High School
- 25:43Speaker 2: and Georgia No, no, no, no, no, don't talk about it. Oh,
- 25:45Speaker 2: you're gonna bring that up. I wrote that down. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 2: we'll talk about that second hour because that is unfreaking believable. Yeah.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about that yet. Yes, we
- 25:55Speaker 2: That is definitely a topic. You didn't talk about that
- 25:57Speaker 2: in your show. No I didn't. Okay, Yeah, we're going
- 25:59Speaker 2: to talk about it. So hold off on that one
- 26:02Speaker 2: right there. Let's get to a few texts before we
- 26:05Speaker 2: go anywhere else. Scoots, it appears that Notre Dame isn't
- 26:08Speaker 2: the only school in the huge state that is playing cupcakes.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I like the start of this already looks like Indiana
- 26:17Speaker 2: doesn't play a worthy non conference opponent through twenty thirty two.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Is this the championship mentality? Y'all are hoping gets you
- 26:25Speaker 2: into the Promised Land again? That's cute? Do you say
- 26:28Speaker 2: that now? Anytime somebody says that's cute, it's so insincere.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I'm here to tell you that that will not be
- 26:36Speaker 2: the case. There are some things going on behind the scenes.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Oh there are with Indiana schedule, and it'll be it'll
- 26:42Speaker 2: be beef. Wait wait, wait, wait wait wait, Scoots has scoop. Yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 2: I mean that's I don't think this is scoop. I
- 26:48Speaker 2: think it's pretty common knowledge. Oh it is, okay, but yeah,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I mean there's there's some things in the works of
- 26:52Speaker 2: the schedule. I would say probably in the next two
- 26:55Speaker 2: three years, you'll you'll see some more respectable opponents of
- 26:58Speaker 2: the non By the way, that should be segment we
- 27:00Speaker 2: have scoots on scoop. I think that would be I
- 27:03Speaker 2: think we could get advertising for it and everything if
- 27:07Speaker 2: you had scoots on scoop. I don't have scoop very
- 27:09Speaker 2: often though. That's the problem. Well, we need to change that.
- 27:12Speaker 2: We need to make certain you get scoop and people
- 27:14Speaker 2: send you in any kind of scoop, and then we'll
- 27:16Speaker 2: have scoots on scoop. All right, I think that's I
- 27:19Speaker 2: love the name of that segment. Okay, well you don't,
- 27:23Speaker 2: but no, it's okay. You hesitated, He didn't say anything.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I had to beg for a compliment. And then it
- 27:28Speaker 2: finally comes twenty minutes later. I want you to take me.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Is that what it is? That sounds like the creepiest
- 27:35Speaker 2: thing in the world. Michael's gonna take justin for ice cream?
- 27:40Speaker 2: It's like, what is this a date? This is not
- 27:42Speaker 2: date night? One person said, I have always uh, now,
- 27:46Speaker 2: come on, man, let's change this. Okay. I've always gone
- 27:51Speaker 2: ten over, uh never been pulled. I'm just kidding, Okay,
- 27:54Speaker 2: he put in there, I always went ten over, never
- 27:56Speaker 2: pulled over for speed. Do you believe that? I always
- 28:00Speaker 2: thought you got into the double digits over the speed limit.
- 28:04Speaker 2: You're getting pulled over. Not in Louisville because there's no cops. Really,
- 28:10Speaker 2: it seems like certain times of the month they are
- 28:14Speaker 2: sitting there in an unmarked car and Waterston Express but
- 28:17Speaker 2: usually around Bartown Road they have picked up their presence
- 28:20Speaker 2: of yes, yeah, they're cool looking cars. They do have
- 28:24Speaker 2: some coold yes. And I'm gonna say this, and I'm
- 28:27Speaker 2: gonna say this, every single year, the State Troopers of
- 28:31Speaker 2: Kentucky have the and I you know, I'm not much
- 28:36Speaker 2: of cusser, but there's no other way to describe it
- 28:39Speaker 2: than this. The baddest ass looking cars in the world.
- 28:41Speaker 2: The black Ones. Oh my gosh, that between the black
- 28:44Speaker 2: and the gray. I love them. I don't and that
- 28:47Speaker 2: has it with the blue What do you think about?
- 28:50Speaker 2: How about LMPD. Do you like the silver or the
- 28:52Speaker 2: black ones? I like the silver, really, I do so
- 28:55Speaker 2: you like the black, I'm a I love the black ones.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I think they look so clear. And I actually asked
- 29:00Speaker 2: Jamie the other day, I was like, do you drive
- 29:02Speaker 2: a black or a silver one? He prefers the silver
- 29:04Speaker 2: as well. Oh, he does really interesting. I found that
- 29:07Speaker 2: surprising because I like the black. How much weight are
- 29:10Speaker 2: they wearing when they're in uniform? That's that's the one
- 29:13Speaker 2: thing I've always wanted, because you know, they got a
- 29:15Speaker 2: vest on, they got the gigantic belt. I was talking
- 29:18Speaker 2: to an officer. I want to say, within the last
- 29:20Speaker 2: couple of weeks, what all is on your freaking belt?
- 29:23Speaker 2: I mean, it's just like law. And then how much
- 29:25Speaker 2: does it weigh? And he didn't know how much it weighed?
- 29:28Speaker 2: He goes, but it's heavy. I bet it's I bet
- 29:30Speaker 2: with all their equipment in the uniform and all that,
- 29:32Speaker 2: it's probably an additional thirty five that's exactly okay. I
- 29:35Speaker 2: wouldn't have said thirty five four. I was said thirty pounds,
- 29:39Speaker 2: but man, you and you might be right. It might
- 29:41Speaker 2: be the additional thirty five to forty. And then they
- 29:43Speaker 2: got a run if they're chasing somebody. On top of that,
- 29:45Speaker 2: you put all that stuff on. You gotta think the
- 29:47Speaker 2: gun's probably what five itself? Right, Is the gun that much? Maybe?
- 29:51Speaker 2: Maybe not that much. I don't think it's that much,
- 29:53Speaker 2: but it's amazing. But yes, I love the police cars
- 29:58Speaker 2: and Jeffery. I just don't want to see it up close. Okay,
- 30:02Speaker 2: I just I don't want that. But uh, and I
- 30:04Speaker 2: think their hats at the State troopers wear are really cool.
- 30:08Speaker 2: There's something about those guys that's just like, I'm impressed
- 30:11Speaker 2: I that I don't want you don't like those? Come on,
- 30:14Speaker 2: I don't know. There's something so dweedy about when when
- 30:18Speaker 2: you see an officer get out of their car and
- 30:19Speaker 2: they put their hat on, and then right before they
- 30:22Speaker 2: get back in their car they take it off. I
- 30:24Speaker 2: don't know. Oh, come on, they're they're they're the coolest
- 30:29Speaker 2: guys in the world. But no, I see all right, Texter,
- 30:32Speaker 2: I don't know if I would go ten over. I'm
- 30:34Speaker 2: just gonna tell you, I don't want to go tin
- 30:36Speaker 2: over and have that black or gray car come after me.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I just I'm not buying that right there, One person
- 30:42Speaker 2: uh said, uh uh sounds sure. Sounds like Michael is
- 30:47Speaker 2: not all caps having the best day of his life today. Listen,
- 30:55Speaker 2: kind of sounds like Mari Povich here. Michael Bitt is
- 30:59Speaker 2: not having the greatest day of his life. Michael benn
- 31:02Speaker 2: is not the father. Oh my gosh, Yes, I am
- 31:06Speaker 2: having the greatest day of my life. Just to let
- 31:07Speaker 2: you know it will even if I'm struggling. Listen, I
- 31:12Speaker 2: somebody was tweeting out last night they weren't having a
- 31:15Speaker 2: great day of having some health issues, and I just thought,
- 31:18Speaker 2: you know what, that kind of moved me, So I'm
- 31:20Speaker 2: gonna tweet it back to him, keep your head positive
- 31:23Speaker 2: and hopefully you get better. And he tweeted me back
- 31:26Speaker 2: and says, Michael Bennett just texted me back. See, it's
- 31:29Speaker 2: just the little things. And I would have never I
- 31:33Speaker 2: look at myself Michael Bennett of just the Cats. I
- 31:37Speaker 2: don't look at myself as somebody that people look up to.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I just don't. I look at myself as I'm just
- 31:45Speaker 2: a regular guy out there. And I didn't realize that
- 31:49Speaker 2: I'm that impactful to some people. But I just thought
- 31:52Speaker 2: that was kind of cool, and I appreciated him texting
- 31:54Speaker 2: me or tweeting me back and saying that. So I
- 31:57Speaker 2: don't remember who it was, but I'll tell you what.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now who it was, if you
- 32:01Speaker 2: give me a minute. It was right here, Clint. Okay, yeah,
- 32:09Speaker 2: you know Clint. Really he's the one, isn't he the
- 32:11Speaker 2: one that always makes the videos for us? No? Oh,
- 32:14Speaker 2: is it really? I think it is? Ah? Well, he
- 32:17Speaker 2: says he lives in Tennessee. It is him Cyprus, that
- 32:21Speaker 2: is him. Thought so okay, well, he just made a
- 32:24Speaker 2: comment last night and he said, I'm in a bad
- 32:28Speaker 2: and worsening health spot. So I can't change it, and
- 32:31Speaker 2: I can't change what has to be done to me.
- 32:34Speaker 2: So anyway, I just like that kind of moved me
- 32:37Speaker 2: behindset to have absolutely and I kind of felt bad
- 32:40Speaker 2: for him, and I just wanted to make sure, hey, man,
- 32:42Speaker 2: keep your head up. It could always be worse. So anyway,
- 32:45Speaker 2: we gotta take a break. Keep bringing in those text lines.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Going crazy today by the way, fibo two three, four,
- 32:51Speaker 2: fourteen fifty you want to call it in five o two,
- 32:53Speaker 2: But we've gotten these crazy topics today. I have gone
- 32:56Speaker 2: squirrel so much today, and I think that's what people like.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Can I go squirrel like crazy? We get more text
- 33:03Speaker 2: than anything else. And we barely talked about any sports, okay,
- 33:06Speaker 2: but we'll get the sports. We used them all up
- 33:10Speaker 2: on Monday. No, we didn't. Don't say that. We talked
- 33:13Speaker 2: about the top twenty five now and criticism of it.
- 33:16Speaker 2: But I do have a question I want to ask,
- 33:18Speaker 2: and that's about Jay Batt. Let's talk about that when
- 33:21Speaker 2: we get back. I want you to think about this.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Will Jay Batt have any difficult decisions to make this year?
- 33:28Speaker 2: As far as coaching staff, We'll talk about that as
- 33:31Speaker 2: soon as we get back as well. Getting more of
- 33:33Speaker 2: your text stay right there. Lots more adjusicat's coming right up.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Explain if you want against it.
- 34:37Speaker 2: You're playing my genre today. I gotta be careful because
- 34:41Speaker 2: I'll let you play the whole song right there, A
- 34:43Speaker 2: little tears for fears. I like that. I will not
- 34:46Speaker 2: let me play well. Well, it's tough, you know. If
- 34:49Speaker 2: I want to play the entire time, you better play
- 34:51Speaker 2: the entire time of music station, Mike, I can't let
- 34:53Speaker 2: Let's let's turn it into a music station one day
- 34:55Speaker 2: a week. Okay? So five O two three four fourteen
- 34:59Speaker 2: fifty want to call five two four one four fourteen
- 35:01Speaker 2: fifty You want to text in on the whiskey thief
- 35:03Speaker 2: text line, or you can tweet me at just cat Ray.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Plus you can join us on YouTube. I keep forget
- 35:07Speaker 2: mentioning to do the you know the little YouTube right there. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:10Speaker 2: peace brother. Uh if you want to that sounds so
- 35:14Speaker 2: dumb some old guy saying something like that. Uh, you
- 35:18Speaker 2: can do that on YouTube at Big Exports Radio Louisville
- 35:22Speaker 2: and you'll see me and Justin right there, so you
- 35:25Speaker 2: can see my face a little bed and you see
- 35:27Speaker 2: Justin's I assume, by the way, you know we're we're
- 35:29Speaker 2: our studios right next. Okay, all right, you proved the
- 35:32Speaker 2: point there. I was just saying because you had a
- 35:34Speaker 2: hat on nobody. Well, you know it is your camera
- 35:37Speaker 2: is a little more zoomed in. Oh it is. You're
- 35:39Speaker 2: accurate and saying that, Oh wow, okay, you're you're a
- 35:42Speaker 2: little closer. It looks like it's going to my left,
- 35:45Speaker 2: but uh no, going right. Oh it is okay. Uh.
- 35:48Speaker 2: So there's a school, a little daycare center in a
- 35:51Speaker 2: school right next to us where our studio is. And
- 35:53Speaker 2: I was watching this. One parent is trying to take
- 35:56Speaker 2: had one baby in the arms and another little kid
- 35:59Speaker 2: down on the ground walking into the daycare center crying
- 36:03Speaker 2: his eyes out. Do you ever feel bad for those
- 36:06Speaker 2: kids that clearly do not want to go to where
- 36:09Speaker 2: they're going? No, you don't. I say, that breaks my heart.
- 36:14Speaker 2: But then on the other hand, I'll get on social
- 36:16Speaker 2: media and watch for hours people that put up videos
- 36:21Speaker 2: of kids getting hurt. Oh my god, Oh like my
- 36:25Speaker 2: favorite is it really? My favorite Instagram account is kids
- 36:29Speaker 2: getting hurt and it's crazyches. Oh my gosh, I know,
- 36:35Speaker 2: and it's like, okay, get that kid. It's like usually
- 36:38Speaker 2: with a cat or something or a dog, or they're
- 36:41Speaker 2: doing something really dumb. Yeah, kids are just so stupid. Yes,
- 36:45Speaker 2: and it makes me laugh so much. But these are toddlers. Yeah,
- 36:48Speaker 2: oh yeah, okay, all right, same thing, All right, then
- 36:51Speaker 2: we're right there. One of the things it amazes me
- 36:53Speaker 2: how much you and I like a lot of the
- 36:55Speaker 2: same stuff, except for bush beer. I mean that that's no,
- 37:00Speaker 2: we're not doing that right there. Let's get back to
- 37:03Speaker 2: the text line. One person said, it's abs. That's right.
- 37:08Speaker 2: So women see text you gotta tell me now, are
- 37:11Speaker 2: you a woman? Are you a man? Because I don't know.
- 37:14Speaker 2: I just see your number and if it's if the
- 37:17Speaker 2: one thing that women are more interested in in men abs.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I just I don't buy that. To me, it's you
- 37:27Speaker 2: look at my wife. It's like, no, I want security.
- 37:29Speaker 2: It's it's all about what daddy makes. It's like, not
- 37:31Speaker 2: all people want the same thing in a partner. No,
- 37:34Speaker 2: but I would like to know. I'd love to take
- 37:37Speaker 2: a poll and see what most women want, well, what
- 37:40Speaker 2: most Kentucky women want. As far as UK fan base,
- 37:44Speaker 2: I just want damn wildcat fan. Is that what it is? Yeah?
- 37:50Speaker 2: A man that can say cats and three syllables. So
- 37:53Speaker 2: I now text here. I know you're trying to catch
- 37:57Speaker 2: me here and it's not gonna work, but I'll say
- 38:00Speaker 2: it anyway. Oh boy. Yeah, Well, let me get to
- 38:04Speaker 2: this one first. What does strength of schedule have to
- 38:07Speaker 2: do with how good a team is? People think they
- 38:09Speaker 2: are the fifth best team regardless of who they play.
- 38:13Speaker 2: If they go out this year and lose games and
- 38:15Speaker 2: barely win games, they are not the fifth best team.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Preseason polls are just as meaningful as the third I
- 38:23Speaker 2: played last night. Yeah, I get it, but it's a
- 38:28Speaker 2: talking point. But with football it makes a difference. Basketball,
- 38:34Speaker 2: I don't think it makes a difference because you've got
- 38:37Speaker 2: so many more games that the poles can change, and
- 38:40Speaker 2: so what might have been preseason, those people are gone
- 38:45Speaker 2: and you have time to recover. If you're not in preseason,
- 38:48Speaker 2: you got time to be in the top ten football,
- 38:51Speaker 2: you don't have that kind of time. And that's where
- 38:54Speaker 2: I really oppose to strength of schedule not being a
- 38:58Speaker 2: part of it. Because you put a team that is
- 39:01Speaker 2: really not deserved to be in the top ten, i e.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Notre Dame and they have a light schedule, They're never
- 39:11Speaker 2: going to be taken out of the top ten when
- 39:13Speaker 2: they really should be. When other teams that have played
- 39:17Speaker 2: a big ten or SEC schedule that don't get in
- 39:20Speaker 2: because they might have played the game close, or they
- 39:23Speaker 2: might have lost the game to another really good team,
- 39:25Speaker 2: they go down in the pole even though they're so
- 39:28Speaker 2: they're penalized for playing a tough schedule and a really
- 39:32Speaker 2: tough team in losing that game. Whereas I might as
- 39:36Speaker 2: well just put a bunch of cupcakes out there so
- 39:38Speaker 2: I can be in the top five, and I'm going
- 39:41Speaker 2: to stay there because I'm playing nothing but cupcakes. And
- 39:44Speaker 2: then when I get to the playoffs, guess what I
- 39:46Speaker 2: lose in the first game because I really wo wasn't
- 39:48Speaker 2: that good of a team In Notre Dame's case. We've
- 39:50Speaker 2: seen this exact scenario playoff the Tame multiple times, and
- 39:54Speaker 2: it continues to be not fair to the teams that
- 39:58Speaker 2: are out there playing legitimate teams playing in the legitimate conferences.
- 40:03Speaker 2: And that's why I give Notre Dame the hardest time
- 40:06Speaker 2: of anybody. It's just it's getting so old and until
- 40:10Speaker 2: That's why I'm really disappointed Southern cal for rescheduling them again.
- 40:14Speaker 2: It's like, until these teams stop scheduling Notre Dame, this
- 40:19Speaker 2: will continue to repeat every single year, and I'm kind
- 40:24Speaker 2: of tired of it. So Texter, I'm sorry. I kind
- 40:26Speaker 2: of disagree with you on the football side. Basketball, I
- 40:29Speaker 2: agree with you, so it means something in football, Michael,
- 40:33Speaker 2: do you think, right teckle buster Blank can be one
- 40:36Speaker 2: of the best in the SEC? Ha ha ha ha.
- 40:39Speaker 2: He's trying to get me, there, isn't he?
- 40:41Speaker 3: Ah.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm surprised you caught that. Oh I caught it.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Come on, if that was sent into my show, I
- 40:47Speaker 2: would have read that thinking it was a normal player.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Oh seriously, Yeah, yeah, no, I didn't get me so anyway,
- 40:54Speaker 2: but thank you. I appreciate the text and in more,
- 40:58Speaker 2: did I read this one? Uh? Good? Uh? John? Here?
- 41:03Speaker 2: Good back and forth, Michael, Uh and Justin on college
- 41:07Speaker 2: football this morning? You guys are cooking this morning? My friends. Hey, Justin,
- 41:11Speaker 2: Since you think Kentucky would have four wins or less
- 41:15Speaker 2: and I think Kentucky football and coach Stein will have
- 41:18Speaker 2: six wins or more? Uh, then we could go to
- 41:22Speaker 2: a small wager for twenty five big ones. If the
- 41:26Speaker 2: football Cats win five, it would be a push. Other
- 41:29Speaker 2: than that, if four or less you win and six
- 41:33Speaker 2: or more I win. So why do you think? Justin
- 41:36Speaker 2: and Michael, what are your thoughts? I'm in, I'm in
- 41:40Speaker 2: see I would be in on that too. You got it? John, Yeah,
- 41:43Speaker 2: I would definitely be in on that. Are it's probably
- 41:45Speaker 2: gonna be a push. But I'll tell, do you think
- 41:47Speaker 2: it's gonna be five wins? I'll wow, it's not gonna
- 41:52Speaker 2: be six. I don't think so either. I mean, John,
- 41:55Speaker 2: I love your optimism on this football and it could
- 42:00Speaker 2: be that way. It very mild could be that way.
- 42:03Speaker 2: But it's just too many ifs for me right now.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Much as I really like Will Stein, much as I
- 42:13Speaker 2: like the players he's bringing in because you know, you
- 42:15Speaker 2: and I were talking about Kenny Minchie last night. You
- 42:17Speaker 2: kept texting me, Man, what a well spoken guy, and
- 42:20Speaker 2: I'm like, I said that several times on Monday. He's like, yeah,
- 42:23Speaker 2: you did, but it just he is a very well
- 42:26Speaker 2: spoken guy. By the way, I want to talk about
- 42:28Speaker 2: this real quick. I don't know if you saw the
- 42:31Speaker 2: video yesterday, but UK needs to do more of this
- 42:34Speaker 2: UK football. They put a video up of a few
- 42:37Speaker 2: of the players throwing a football at about seven or
- 42:42Speaker 2: eight yards away with a person that had a helmet
- 42:45Speaker 2: on and a water bottle. Okay, so that was Susan Lax,
- 42:53Speaker 2: who I like very much. She's sid for the football team,
- 42:57Speaker 2: so she works under Tony Neely that joined us on
- 43:00Speaker 2: So so they put out their linebacker Bow Barnes, wide
- 43:04Speaker 2: receiver Prince Jean, defensive back Ty Bryant, wide receiver Brock Kaufman,
- 43:09Speaker 2: linebacker Grant Godfrey, Colton Price who we had on the
- 43:13Speaker 2: show the other day, Kenny Minchi and tied in Michael
- 43:15Speaker 2: Skinner and defensive back Martell's Carter Junior all throwing a
- 43:19Speaker 2: football just to see if they could. And I'm like,
- 43:22Speaker 2: what is she Susan lax doing. I mean, I don't
- 43:26Speaker 2: think I would want to be sitting in a chair
- 43:28Speaker 2: with a bottle of water on top of my head
- 43:30Speaker 2: and people throwing a football even though I have a
- 43:32Speaker 2: football on. They could hit me in the shoulder, in
- 43:34Speaker 2: the back of the neck or anything else. Would you
- 43:36Speaker 2: do that? Yeah, I mean it wouldn't hurt really all right. Well,
- 43:39Speaker 2: only two players were able to do it, Kenny Minchi,
- 43:43Speaker 2: which made me very happy because that's the one thing
- 43:46Speaker 2: they do talk about him constantly is his accuracy. And
- 43:50Speaker 2: he's your quarterback and he's our starting quarterback. He had
- 43:53Speaker 2: to Yeah, yeah, do you think that was the first take? Though?
- 43:58Speaker 2: I kind of think it was. But do you think
- 44:00Speaker 2: that was the first takeer they took all join you
- 44:02Speaker 2: and say it was okay, all right, well we'll take
- 44:04Speaker 2: the benefit of the doubt. But defensive back Tyd Bryant
- 44:07Speaker 2: hit it right there on the spot, really nice pass.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Why do you say that, no surprise the best athletes
- 44:13Speaker 2: on the team. Yeah, well, who is the best athlete
- 44:15Speaker 2: on the team. It's always the quarterback. Probably, No, it's
- 44:20Speaker 2: always the quarterback. Yeah. Uh, but but you're right, Tyd
- 44:23Speaker 2: Bright defensive back probably a great listen. They're all great athletes,
- 44:28Speaker 2: but not many of them can pass the ball like that,
- 44:31Speaker 2: and it was it was a sweet pass for both
- 44:32Speaker 2: of them. I mean it, it looked really nice. But uh,
- 44:37Speaker 2: this is the one I'm going to say, UK football media,
- 44:40Speaker 2: you need to do more of this. This is the
- 44:42Speaker 2: kind of content that's going to make me tune in
- 44:45Speaker 2: and pay attention to UK football more on social media.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I loved every second of it. I just did. It's
- 44:50Speaker 2: almost like you got a younger coach. Now you gotta
- 44:52Speaker 2: start acting. You gotta up it up. Yeah, you you
- 44:55Speaker 2: gotta up everything. We've entered the will Stein TikTok era
- 44:58Speaker 2: of UK four. Well, you know the that's a great
- 45:01Speaker 2: point and I think you're right, and you got to
- 45:03Speaker 2: put because how often should you post on social media?
- 45:07Speaker 2: Once a Day's not enough? Is it? The guys that
- 45:10Speaker 2: are really successful are they putting up like two, three,
- 45:13Speaker 2: four a day that I don't know? I don't either.
- 45:18Speaker 2: I would love to know from one person that's been
- 45:20Speaker 2: very successful as a what do they call them now, influencer? Influencer?
- 45:25Speaker 2: Oh no, I mean individual influencers are posting multiple times
- 45:30Speaker 2: a day. What was the one thing they did that
- 45:32Speaker 2: they finally realized that, Okay, I'm good at this and
- 45:36Speaker 2: I'm going to be able to succeed at this. That's
- 45:38Speaker 2: that's what I would like to know. What is it?
- 45:41Speaker 2: Because I've never understood how these people get where they are.
- 45:44Speaker 2: All right, I'm going to get back to your text
- 45:46Speaker 2: as soon as we get back. Follow two four one
- 45:48Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty on the Whiskey Thief text line. Our
- 45:51Speaker 2: two coming right up, stay.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Right there, Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 46:18Speaker 2: All right with number two. If you want to give
- 46:20Speaker 2: us call, you can do it at five O two
- 46:21Speaker 2: three and four fourteen fifty. You want to Texas on
- 46:23Speaker 2: the Whiskey Thief text line, you can do that at
- 46:25Speaker 2: five O two four one four fourteen fifteen. Tweet me
- 46:28Speaker 2: at Just the Cat Radio. So I do want to talk.
- 46:31Speaker 2: There's a few things I want to talk, and I
- 46:33Speaker 2: got a lot of topics for this hour. That's not
- 46:36Speaker 2: good because we have a lot of texts for this
- 46:38Speaker 2: Oh we do, okay, Yeah, and I gotta get through
- 46:40Speaker 2: the text as well, and please text me keep the
- 46:43Speaker 2: text coming. I love it when y'all do that. It
- 46:45Speaker 2: makes me very happy. I did want to talk about this.
- 46:49Speaker 2: With the new University Kentucky Athletic Department athletic director in place, now,
- 46:56Speaker 2: is there any chance Jay Bett, we'll have some tough
- 47:00Speaker 2: decisions to make on coaching his first year in And
- 47:03Speaker 2: if so, who's it going to be, Because there's a
- 47:07Speaker 2: couple of thoughts I have here. Uh, obviously, will Stein No, obviously,
- 47:15Speaker 2: I really don't think Kenny Brooks has anything to worry about. Absolutely,
- 47:20Speaker 2: Craig Skinner No. Outside that, I don't know any of
- 47:26Speaker 2: the other coaches that I would be thinking of. But
- 47:29Speaker 2: I have two thoughts here, Nick Minion, Mark Pope. Those
- 47:36Speaker 2: are your coaches that have been Nick Minjeon has been
- 47:40Speaker 2: here the longest. I think this is a I don't
- 47:43Speaker 2: think this is a year where his seat gets warm,
- 47:45Speaker 2: but it's it's getting to a point where fans want
- 47:48Speaker 2: to see UK go back to the World Series and
- 47:54Speaker 2: he gets great players in there, and he's done a
- 47:59Speaker 2: phenomenal job transfer portal and we're gonna find out because
- 48:03Speaker 2: one of the things that's going to be happening is
- 48:05Speaker 2: that UK Baseball scheduled four fall exhibition games, and I
- 48:10Speaker 2: like this, uh October fourth, I that's at Cincinnati October eleventh,
- 48:15Speaker 2: they were playing Xavier Kentucky crowd Park. October sixteenth, they're
- 48:19Speaker 2: going up to Bloomington to play your Indiana Hoosiers and
- 48:26Speaker 2: for your Cats. Oh. I was gonna say, what, Yeah,
- 48:31Speaker 2: not many Big ten teams that are good, and you
- 48:33Speaker 2: know why, it's because they're nobody wants playing the cold weather.
- 48:37Speaker 2: And then they end up October twenty fifth, uh playing
- 48:40Speaker 2: at Kentucky Prowed Bark against Morehead State. I love that idea.
- 48:44Speaker 2: I don't think Nick min Jones is in a position
- 48:46Speaker 2: where his seat is even warm. I think he's firm.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Do you do really? Here's the thing. I do think
- 48:53Speaker 2: his seat's warm. But I don't think Jay Batt will
- 48:56Speaker 2: do anything about it this year. I don't think so
- 48:58Speaker 2: he's not going to come in and want a rough.
- 49:00Speaker 2: If you're gonna let anybody go, I mean it has
- 49:04Speaker 2: to be Rachel Lawson of Softball that that would be.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I didn't even think about her. One obvious to me,
- 49:13Speaker 2: but she's been there so long and she's had so
- 49:16Speaker 2: many great teams. I mean, it's just like I didn't
- 49:19Speaker 2: even think about it. I don't think he'll want to
- 49:22Speaker 2: ruffle feathers. And I don't. Truthfully, I don't think that
- 49:25Speaker 2: Nick Menjion or Mark Pope for that matter, will have
- 49:27Speaker 2: a season bad enough worth firing. We hope not. I don't.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I just don't anticipate that. We hope not. Yeah, I'm
- 49:37Speaker 2: just listen, the basketball team is getting a lot of
- 49:41Speaker 2: love with the roster. I'm just I'm gonna be realistic.
- 49:45Speaker 2: I'm not there yet. I'm just not. It just seems
- 49:49Speaker 2: like a hodgepodge of players that Mark Pope has gotten
- 49:53Speaker 2: for this coming season. I hope it works out. Listen.
- 49:56Speaker 2: I don't want to see Mark Pope lose his job.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Number one. I don't want to see this team not succeed.
- 50:02Speaker 2: I'm not one of those kind of fans that wants
- 50:03Speaker 2: to root against your team. I'm just not. I want
- 50:06Speaker 2: everybody to succeed because guess what it's good for radio.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Nobody wants to tune into a radio show about a
- 50:13Speaker 2: school that continued to lose every single years. Fan, Well, yeah,
- 50:19Speaker 2: and we've got we've got those that listen to the show,
- 50:21Speaker 2: which amazes me. It amaz I would love to know
- 50:24Speaker 2: how many U of L listeners listen to this show.
- 50:26Speaker 2: How many Western Kentucky fans, uh Morehead State. I mean,
- 50:31Speaker 2: who else is out there? U of L fans? But
- 50:34Speaker 2: it's just amazing to me, and I appreciate it. Don't
- 50:36Speaker 2: get me wrong, I appreciate, Well, why are you listening
- 50:39Speaker 2: to this show? But it would be my question. I see,
- 50:42Speaker 2: I think that if if Mark Pope doesn't have a
- 50:50Speaker 2: season within the SEC that is right around he finishes
- 50:56Speaker 2: right around fourth or fifth in the conference, I think
- 50:59Speaker 2: they're might be some issues with him keeping his job.
- 51:03Speaker 2: I'm just I'm not on that wavelength at all, because
- 51:06Speaker 2: to me, it doesn't I'm not I'm not worried so
- 51:09Speaker 2: much about conference standings. For me, it's much more about
- 51:13Speaker 2: the end game of where do you end up in
- 51:15Speaker 2: the NCAA tournament? What safe do you get? How far
- 51:17Speaker 2: do you get? All that stuff? If he doesn't get
- 51:20Speaker 2: past the first weekend, does he keep his job? Again,
- 51:24Speaker 2: I'd say, yes, Wow, Okay, I just I don't think
- 51:27Speaker 2: Jay Batt is gonna make that change in one So
- 51:31Speaker 2: you think everybody's pretty much safe no matter what, just
- 51:36Speaker 2: because it's Jay Bat's first season, with the exception of
- 51:39Speaker 2: Rachel Lawson. Yeah, And see, that doesn't make any sense
- 51:44Speaker 2: to me either. Why why Rachel Lawson in UK softball.
- 51:49Speaker 2: I mean, look, whereas your biggest, one of your biggest
- 51:52Speaker 2: revenue sports is not softball, it's basketball, right, But I
- 51:56Speaker 2: mean so with the same they had, what'd they go?
- 52:01Speaker 2: Like one in twenty three in the SEC? I mean
- 52:03Speaker 2: it was pretty bad. It was something off, But again,
- 52:05Speaker 2: it's not one of those sports that there are fans
- 52:10Speaker 2: out there. Just because it's not a revenue generating sport
- 52:12Speaker 2: doesn't mean that he doesn't want to win, right, But
- 52:15Speaker 2: I just don't think that's something you changed in your
- 52:17Speaker 2: first year. Maybe I did you put up another one
- 52:19Speaker 2: in twenty three in SEC? Absolutely make that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 52:23Speaker 2: Now that's the good thing for loss and is she's
- 52:25Speaker 2: got an opportunity to turn it around. I don't. I
- 52:27Speaker 2: don't know anything about Kentucky softball, but if you go
- 52:31Speaker 2: out there and you're five hundred in conference play as
- 52:34Speaker 2: opposed to that, then yeah, you'll probably keep your job.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Yeah okay, but put up another bad season, And that's
- 52:41Speaker 2: to me, that just makes the I think that's him
- 52:44Speaker 2: that it does make it easier. But what it would
- 52:47Speaker 2: if Mark Pope has the same kind of season and
- 52:49Speaker 2: it ends up not being he's one of the Mark
- 52:53Speaker 2: Pope would have to miss the tournament to get really,
- 52:57Speaker 2: in my opinion, okay, in his first Now, if Mitch
- 53:01Speaker 2: Barnhardt was still here and you you don't get past
- 53:05Speaker 2: that first weekend, but you do make the tournament, maybe
- 53:08Speaker 2: he makes that change because he's just been in that
- 53:10Speaker 2: spot a lot longer and is more comfortable. But I
- 53:13Speaker 2: don't Again, I don't think the jay Bat's gonna come
- 53:16Speaker 2: in and ruffle felt. But what if he what if
- 53:18Speaker 2: it does go south and you got an opportunity to
- 53:22Speaker 2: hire a coach that a lot of the fan base
- 53:25Speaker 2: wants to bring in. I'm not enter, Okay, I'm not
- 53:30Speaker 2: feeling because because Mark Poe. That's the thing is like
- 53:33Speaker 2: we can if some butts were candy and nuts, you
- 53:35Speaker 2: know that phrase. But I mean it's that's not gonna happen.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Even I don't see a world where Kentucky basketball has
- 53:42Speaker 2: a a season where they're missing the tournament. I really don't.
- 53:45Speaker 2: You don't know, Okay, I hope not. The roster's just
- 53:49Speaker 2: too talented. Yeah. One person said, Michael, you were correct
- 53:53Speaker 2: when you said why does the SEC get so much
- 53:57Speaker 2: love over the other conferences? Let me give you my
- 54:00Speaker 2: two cents because it's not just about the last three championships.
- 54:04Speaker 2: It's about the history of some form of dominance of
- 54:07Speaker 2: a bunch of years, and even the years they do
- 54:10Speaker 2: not win the championship, they are right there in the
- 54:12Speaker 2: final four in college football are even playing in championships. Also,
- 54:16Speaker 2: once you get past the top two or three in
- 54:19Speaker 2: each conference, the SEC is just stronger with their fourth
- 54:22Speaker 2: best team, and down the conference, it's not even close.
- 54:26Speaker 2: Do you agree with that? I agree with that, So
- 54:29Speaker 2: I don't know about the number four, but yeah, I
- 54:32Speaker 2: get his point, do you Uh? Is that true with
- 54:36Speaker 2: the Big ten two? Because that's that's the conference I
- 54:38Speaker 2: look at and I compare the most of the seas.
- 54:41Speaker 2: It's not the Big twelve, and unfortunately it's not the ACC. Yeah,
- 54:45Speaker 2: I mean probably so. I mean, when you're thinking about
- 54:47Speaker 2: the top teams, you got Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan USC
- 54:51Speaker 2: is expected to be a lot better this year. Oregon.
- 54:54Speaker 2: I mean that's five right there. So yeah. Josh texts
- 54:57Speaker 2: it out eight five, twenty twenty six. I think he
- 55:01Speaker 2: means August fifth, twenty twenty six. Michael admits he likes
- 55:05Speaker 2: it hard, So there you go. Yeah, I like my
- 55:07Speaker 2: ice cream hard. Okay, not, I don't like ice cream
- 55:11Speaker 2: that's soft. Josh. Geez. By the way, Josh, I got
- 55:15Speaker 2: to get together with you. Okay, you need to look
- 55:17Speaker 2: at my car. Uh oh one, I like that. Doing
- 55:21Speaker 2: a little personal business over the radio. Okay. One person
- 55:24Speaker 2: texts Graders has the best ice cream flavor in the game,
- 55:27Speaker 2: Midnight Snack, malt flavored ice cream with Okay, this sounds disgusting.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Malt flavored ice cream with pretzels, mini peanut buttercups, and
- 55:40Speaker 2: brownie bits mixed in. Don't knock it until you try it.
- 55:43Speaker 2: I'm in. I don't need anymore. I'm in. Oh, you
- 55:46Speaker 2: didn't even tell us what kind of ice cream it is.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Is it vanilla? Is it chocolate? I would assume when
- 55:52Speaker 2: I hear the name of it, Midnight Stack, is it chocolate? Yeah,
- 55:56Speaker 2: malt flavor, malt chocolate. That just because it says flavor
- 56:00Speaker 2: doesn't mean it's chocolate. When I heard the when I
- 56:02Speaker 2: hear malt is a flavor of ice cream, I assume
- 56:04Speaker 2: it's chocolate. No, it's a It's a flavoring that they
- 56:07Speaker 2: put into the ice cream. Malt. But I feel like
- 56:12Speaker 2: that's only ever in chocolate incorrect. I get it in
- 56:15Speaker 2: a vanilla that's disgusted, disgusting. I like malt flavored vanilla milkshakes.
- 56:26Speaker 2: It is not disgusting. I'm not a vanilla. By the way,
- 56:30Speaker 2: I disagree on the place that you like to go
- 56:32Speaker 2: eat ice cream. So anyway, I think it's I went
- 56:34Speaker 2: in there and told them one time because I like
- 56:37Speaker 2: the black raspberry chip. But you know, I'm not a
- 56:40Speaker 2: big chocolate guy, so I don't like those gigantic This
- 56:42Speaker 2: is the reason I don't like that place, that they
- 56:45Speaker 2: have these gigantic chips of dark chocolate. It's like I
- 56:49Speaker 2: said the manager, I said, do you like suggestions? He goes, yo,
- 56:51Speaker 2: we love our suggestion box. I said, may I make
- 56:54Speaker 2: a suggestion? Can you make the chips smaller? In the
- 56:58Speaker 2: raspberry chip? That's our trademark. I mean, he really went
- 57:02Speaker 2: off on me. That's our trademark. It's like, I thought
- 57:06Speaker 2: you'd liked it for just you, buddy. Well, I just
- 57:10Speaker 2: I like it the way I like it, So there
- 57:11Speaker 2: you go. So I just don't like I don't like
- 57:14Speaker 2: dark chocolate, so it's disgusting. One person texted, and hopefully
- 57:19Speaker 2: all teams with playoff aspirations play better than non better
- 57:23Speaker 2: non conference schedules. But the question is, as that happens,
- 57:28Speaker 2: do we basically go to a super Bowl super conference
- 57:31Speaker 2: where you have the teams with a shot who play
- 57:34Speaker 2: each other only, and then everybody else Listen. My entire
- 57:40Speaker 2: point is there shouldn't be independent teams out there anymore,
- 57:44Speaker 2: especially a team that is saying, well, if we're in
- 57:47Speaker 2: the top ten, we should be in the playoffs. It's like, no,
- 57:51Speaker 2: that's not how it works. If you don't deserve. Just
- 57:54Speaker 2: because you got a ranking doesn't necessarily mean you deserve
- 57:57Speaker 2: to be in the playoffs. It just and you'll never
- 58:01Speaker 2: no one will ever be able to convince me any differently.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Am I wrong to think that way? Justin No, I mean,
- 58:08Speaker 2: I'm basically right there with you. I just I'm fed
- 58:12Speaker 2: up with it, I really am. I mean, you talk
- 58:15Speaker 2: about trying to get me in a bad mood in
- 58:17Speaker 2: a New York second, it's talk about Notre Dame. It's
- 58:19Speaker 2: just it's not fair to the teams out there that
- 58:22Speaker 2: legitimately are trying to get in Holy cow man forty
- 58:27Speaker 2: eight handily, Well old miss got the quarterback, Yes they do.
- 58:33Speaker 2: And what's what's his name? Trinidad Chambalis. He's good, He's
- 58:38Speaker 2: gonna be really good. But one of the most common
- 58:42Speaker 2: things used to poison people can't taste it and mixed drink.
- 58:48Speaker 2: I wonder what that is, he says it two texts later. Oh,
- 58:51Speaker 2: he does any freezing? Whoa an he freeze? I understood.
- 58:56Speaker 2: That's how a lot of farmers get rid of cowdies.
- 59:01Speaker 2: They put any freeze in bowls out because they want
- 59:05Speaker 2: to drink it, and then they're dead stupides. Wow, man,
- 59:10Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't. I don't care for belly dancing.
- 59:13Speaker 2: That's what got John the Baptist beheaded. What I didn't
- 59:22Speaker 2: know that? Okay, Well I got pulled over for no
- 59:25Speaker 2: lights on my bike in Highland Park at four forty
- 59:28Speaker 2: five am. Wow, well, then tell the police to come
- 59:32Speaker 2: down the river road and pull over these guys. Let's
- 59:38Speaker 2: redact all bar all bodily functions for war. The larger
- 59:43Speaker 2: your belly, the further you are from your girl when
- 59:48Speaker 2: you slow dancing. Close counts PiZZ Also is a good point. Yeah, yeah,
- 59:55Speaker 2: that's why you should have a small belly. Yeah. Are
- 59:59Speaker 2: you much a dancer? By the way, No, I haven't
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: danced in years. Really, no, I do like to dance,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: but anyway, let me make sure I get all it. Heck,
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: you could forget to check the back seat. I remember
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: riding in the rear deck of the car, looking out
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: through the rear window at all the cars behind us
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: on the road. Those were definitely different times back then,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: but at least I was able to avoid all the
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: quicksand to in the eighties. Jamie said his belt is
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: about twenty three pounds. Oh okay, so it's not as
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: heavy as we thought. No, yeah, that's not bad. I
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: would have won that one. But anyway, Justin as Well
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: said set them straight, Bennett, I'm was, But then he
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: goes out and says, I'm with Scoots. What the heck
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: midnight snack sounds delicious? No it doesn't. There's another text.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Oh there is above the set them straight? Oh there is.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: That's what he was talking about. Oh well, wait, I
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: just lost it. Hold on, I'll get to it, Scoots.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I was driving in and couldn't comment until now. Very
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: disres respectful. Prediction four and eight for my Cats football.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I think we're seven and five on the low end.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Nine and three would be the ceiling. Four and eight
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: is just harsh Man. Give Stein a little credit. Stoops
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: would be four and eight, not Stein, have faith nine
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: and three. Absolutely I am with Justin as well. I'm
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: right there with you. We are going nine and three,
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: if not ten and two, we all just got up
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: and hit the bottle this morning. Is that what's happening here? Yeah?
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Nine and three? What a joke, I might I mean,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: that makes me want to change my name from Justin.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: One person said I'm with you on that raspberry ice cream.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Ease up on those chocolate chunks. See, I'm not the
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: only one out there. And the manager got just kind
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: of all rude on me. I asked him, do you
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: like criticism? I want more chocolate chokes? Oh god, that's
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: disgusting anyway, Okay, I got through all. If you want
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: to send in more five oo two four, one, four,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: fourteen fifteen. Now there was one more. It says I'm
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: all in for Tears for Fears music. Oh who said that?
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Are the most underrated bands of all time? I missed it?
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Oh nice? What did he say? He's all in for
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: tears Fuse music? And what one of the most underrated
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: bands of all time couldn't agree more? I remember we
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: talked about them about a year ago. And the lead singer,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: I can't think of his name, but he I know,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: stop but he sounds the exact same. I mean, his
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: voice today as he did today. And then the other
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: because there's two guys that sing in that band and
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: the other one. There's a video of him singing with
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: his daughter and it is absolutely amaze. You can find
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: it on YouTube or any of the social media things.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Him singing with his daughter, just acoustic and I'm trying
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: to think which song it is. It's a Mad World
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: and yeah, it's called Mad World and it's just unbelievable.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: His daughter has an amazingly beautiful voice. But anyway, all right,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: let's go ahead and take a break. When we come back,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: I'm a little upset with BUCkies and I want to
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: see what you think. Yeah, okay, I don't know if
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: you've seen this story or not. Have you seen it? Okay,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: We're going to talk about BUCkies and I'm not happy
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: with them. So anyway, stay right there. More just the
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: cats right after.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: This, welcome, who run you.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: I don't know if you've seen this story or not,
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: but you know, there's a lot of popularity in love
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: for BUCkies right now? How many do we have in Kentucky?
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Now too? There's more than that, is it? Really? Well?
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: There's one south of Louisville or Etown. Then there's one
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: south of Richmond, Kentucky. And those are the only two
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: I know about. So if there are more, I don't
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: know about them. But correct? Okay? Two, your location playing
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: for Oak Grove over that grove isn't that near Usk
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: to Interstate twenty four? Oh you're talking western Kentucky. Okay, yeah,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: I got youa. So that I'm assuming that's going to
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: be right around uh Morehead Paduca Areas something like that.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: So it is where Oak Grove is? All right? So
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Oak BUCkies is suing a small convenience store in beaver Creek, Ohowe. Oh,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: I'm not mad at BUCkies for this, You're not? No? Oh,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: let me finish, go ahead, all right? Uh It's called
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Beaver's Mini Mart, which has been around for over two
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: decades in Beaver Creek, Ohio. If you don't know where
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Beaver Creek, Ohio is, it's right outside of Dayton. Ohow.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: It's a small neighborhood convenience store, has no gas gas
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: pumps and is miles away from any interstate, and they
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: were there long before BUCkies ever came to Ohio. Yet
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: they're called Beaver's Mini Mart, and a BUCkies is claiming
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: that their logo is confusing to customers thinking that they're
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: going to the Texas based BUCkies if they go to
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: a Beaver's Mini Marky. So the difference is BUCkies claims
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: they own the beaver mascot as the only store that
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: can have the beaver. Their beaver is just a face.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: Now you go to Beaver's Mini Mart, it's a standing beaver.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: There's no gas pumps, it's just a small convenience store
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: in a neighborhood. Why do you side with BUCkies? Because
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: I'm really ticked off at BUCkies and they're going out
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: and this is evidently this is a trend for BUCkies too.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: They go after all these small mom and pops stores
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: and get them to shut down their stinking beaver or
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: whatever beaver related item that they don't own the beaver.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: So where do you go? Y? Yeah, I mean you're
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: right that this is a trend. They sued Mickey's moose logo.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: There's another gas station that had a moosehead as their
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: logo and they sued them, saying that it was too
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: much like the beaver. So you know what, after talking
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: through all this, I'm on your side. Screw BUCkies. It's
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: a ridiculous thing to do. The logo looks nothing similar exactly,
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: it's an entire beaver and it says Beaver's mini mark.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: If people are confusing that for BUCkies, that sounds like
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: a people problem, not a beaver's mini martyr. BUCkies. Well,
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: the first thing I notice when I go to a
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: BUCkies and I'm fascinated by it is all the guests
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: pumps that they have and this place doesn't even have
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: a single gas pump. How are you confusing that? And
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: not only that, but they're so far away because you
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: go to a BUCkies and it's it's close to an interstate,
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: it's right off in interstate. This is not they can't
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: own every animal out there. It's just not right. And
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: the fact that they're going after and of course these
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: people don't have much money, but evidently they're doing a
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: documentary on HBO about this situation, and the documentary is
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: hoping that they stop BUCkies from continuing going after small
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: mom and pop owned businesses, which I love it really
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: upset me when I saw this, and I like, BUCkies.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of the company Clean Eats. Yes,
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: we've got a couple of them here in Louisville, but
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: I've tried them before. They're pretty good. I know their owners,
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: so let me know. Oh maybe they should advertise here.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: Good friends with my dad. But so they have a
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Clean Eats up near this mini mark and I guess
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: they're sticking up for Beaver's Mini Mart. And they change
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: their logo to a Beaver. Really good for them, probably
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: just temporarily, but it's still pretty pretty good. See good.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: I like that. That's how you fight the cause. And
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: they posted on someone one of the social media is
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: proudly supporting all the local beaver businesses in Beaver Creek
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Beaver's Mini Mart keep being great. You gotta be careful
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: with that one now. But anyway, I listen, I saw
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: this and I'm like, I hope these people do it.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: I mean, it's like, wait a minute, now, how can
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: you go after a company that's been there, a small
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: company business that, first of all, there was there hadn't
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: been a BUCkies there till recently. This business has been
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: there for over twenty years with the same logo. It's like,
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: how can you expect to go after them? And and
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: they just think, well, I can bring all my money
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: in here, sue you and make you do change it.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: I don't understand the benefit that they're seeing. To me,
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: this is going to make a negative light towards what
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: is relatively a loved, a beloved company BUCkies. No, I mean,
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: I think it's gonna work the opposite way. Maybe for
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: a bit, but people are always going to flock the
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: bus really just because it's the thing to do. It's
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: I don't get the attraction. It's too crowded for me.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: It's it's just like, Okay, I got a once, I'm good. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: That's how I feel. I went one time. Yes, I
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: tried to brisket, that's all I wanted, and I got
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: their tea and I was out of there. I was like,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I don't need to do this again, so I I
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: I But anyway, Uh. There was an announcement yesterday UH
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: New University Kentucky offensive coordinator Joe Sloane Uh said he's
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: going to call the plays from upstairs this coming season,
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: away from the chaos and into a into the calm.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Why doesn't every OC go upstairs? And I looked it
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: up and I said, to see, okay, how many go upstairs?
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: How many stay on the field. And it's a lot
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: closer than you think. They said it's there's it's a
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: slight edge to the coaches that go upstairs to the
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: press box or coaches box, whatever you want to call
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: it up there. And I was really surprised by that.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: When if you were an offensive coordinator, where would you
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: want to be justin as far as calling plays during
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: a football game. See, that's tough because obviously when you're
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: up top, you've got a better vantage point, yes, and
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: you could see the defense is better. So that's that's
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: where I would lean. But at the same time, I
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: kind of want to be on the sidelines. I want
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: to be in the atmosphere. I don't I don't want
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: to be closed off from the atmosphere of the fans
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: and being around my my players and stuff like that.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: So a small part of me wants to say on
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: the sideline that that's a really that would be a
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: really tough thing to try to figure out if I
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: was in OC, because I'm not. To me, it's to me,
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: it's like you don't want to be on the sidelines.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: You're not there for the pageantry and the celebration and
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: the cheerleaders. You're there to coach game and win a game.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: And in order to do that, to me, you got
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: to be able to see what's the defense doing. The
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: best vantage points gonna come from upstairs. I just I
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: was really surprised that it was closer than I thought.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: I thought it would be, like, all, let's just keep
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: it conservative. I thought i'd be conservative with eighty percent
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: of the coaches like to be upstairs and twenty percent
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: like to be on the field. But it's like it's
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: it's close to being fifty to fifty with us. They
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: said a slided vantage going towards coaches going upstairs. I'm
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: kind of surprised by that. I want to trying to remember.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: I want to say Indiana's was upstairs. Oh really, yeah,
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: I just I didn't know that would be a thing
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: and a question to ask. But okay, I guess we care. Now.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: The one thing you want to talk about I want
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: to talk about right now. And this is crazy what's
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: going on. But and I passed the school. If you
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: drive down I seventy five going through South Georgia headed
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: towards Florida. You always go and we always remember it's
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: the last city in South Georgia called Valdosta. Valdosta is
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: also known as a college where we hired a coach
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: many years ago. Valdosta State is where how mommy came from,
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: the former u U OFS Kentucky football coach. And now
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Valdosta High School, which is literally right there off the
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: of I sixty five, just opened yesterday a fourteen million
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: dollars indoor multi purpose training facility funded by something called SPLOST.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: And the reason they built this was to protect athletes
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: from extreme heat because they're in South Florida and severe weather. Now,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: how did they afford this fourteen million? Exactly fourteen million
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: dollars were spent splost. Are you ready for what SPLOST is? Yep,
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: special Purpose Local Option sales tax. So in other words,
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: what they did is they were in the state of Georgia,
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: you were able to do this. It's a one percent
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: sales tax that counties can take advantage of in Georgia
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: and Levy to fund local public improvement projects. So they
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: saw this as a local public improvement project to build
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: a fourteen million dollars. I know they're saying multipurpose training facility,
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: but let's be honest, South Florida, it's I mean South Georgia,
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: it's football. Exactly. What do you think about this? Because
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: you you saw the video. It's amazing to look at
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: this facility. I mean, it's better than a lot of
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: college facilities. Absolutely, like it's disgusting that a high school
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: has that something like that, and you're right, it is.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: You word it in a way where it feels like
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: it's going to be used by everybody, but it very
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: clear looks like a football practice facility. It does. I
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: mean text lines killing me. I'm so sorry I got sidetracked,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: but anyway, it does. I mean, it does not look
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: like this is worthy of a high school. I mean,
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: good lord, I mean that's the rich keep getting richer.
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: I mean, when you have a high school facility like that,
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: you know your state high your state college or school
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: is going to get take advantage of that too and
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: get all these players come play for them. But good
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: for them. Fourteen million dollars at a public school. It
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: really is, Thank you very much, Jamie. He shared the
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: story about your free beer yesterday, which but evidently he
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: was a When I saw a lineman, I thought offensive,
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: our defensive lineman. I'm in football mode. Okay, But evidently
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Calfrey was an LG and E line technician who tragically
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: passed away falling a work accident. So there you go. No,
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: November sixth of last year? Was that? Was it last year?
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Or I think it was last year. Yeah, so there
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: you go. Hopefully the hopefully the family gets catches wind
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: of this. And so his wife has been tagged on
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: my Facebook boat. Oh isn't that nice? Okay, it got back. Yeah,
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: so let's let's let's tag a little of the show
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: today for her, letting know that we're honoring her husband, Kyle,
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: who I'm sure it's a difficult day for her and
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: the family. And uh but our thoughts and prayers are
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: going out to you, ma'am and certainly thinking about you,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: and and it's nice that uh uh you know, it's
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: almost I have to say this, I'm getting cold chills
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: right now. It's almost like it was destiny that you
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: got that beer, and that beer got to somebody that
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: has access to talk about their family member. Yeah, and
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: now you did it, and now I've done it, and
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: I think that's really nice, So tag her with the
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: show today please and tell her that we're definitely thinking
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: about her and her husband. And happy birthday to Kyle.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Even though he's not here with us, I'm sure he's
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: surrounding his beautiful family right now. And uh and just
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: I'm so sorry for your tragedy, but uh, I'm sure
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: you're loved and you're you'll always be successful at raising
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: those beautiful children that you have in the picture. So Jamie,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: thanks for sending and sharing that with us. One person said,
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: why Nona had a big brown beaver way before BUCkies
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: was even invented. Primus isn't upset at them? By the way,
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: that's an awesome song. Have you ever heard Primus sing
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: Why Nona had a big brown beaver? That is Okay,
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: I'm going to make a request, and I'm so sorry
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: to do this too, because I know you don't like it,
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: but you gotta play Primus going out. Okay, Okay, oh
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: come on, it's you gotta watch the video. It's the
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: craziest video you've ever seen in your life. So anyway,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: good call right there, Jamie. Well, we'll be definitely doing that,
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: so let's go ahead. And take our last break. Uh
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: just this this shows flown by. But it's been a
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: lot of fun. So uh. Anyway, when we come back,
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: I kind of talk about this whole Raiders thing.
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Plus, your favorite band did something this past weekend. I
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: want to know if you're upset about this. But we'll
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: talk about that too. Stay right there. One more segment
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: of Just the Cats right after this sale.
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: Here, my mom was gonna see alf big brown wrenches
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: among all the friends.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: You know that, fans, come on. The music is good.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: The music is. The music in fact, is really good.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: I love that song. I to thank Jamie, thank you
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: very much, because as soon as I get in my car,
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: I am turning that song up. As soon as I
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: get out of here. I love that song and the
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: music is because I knew I could tell from your
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: face it's like, what am I listening to? Did you
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: watch the video? By the way, No, that's the nuttiest
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: video you ever seen in your life. I couldn't find
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: the video quick enough. Oh you couldn't. Okay, I'm just
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: looking at a picture, yeah, with three wooden spoons coming
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: up out of the wall. No, no, no, you gotta
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: go watch the video. If you haven't seen Primus One
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: always got a big brown beaver. It is the wildest
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: thing you've ever seen in your life. So anyway, I
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: like Primus, I just I yeah, yeah. I was introduced
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: to them by my old friend from the other station, Channon.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: So yeah, let's get to a few or more of
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: these texts here before we go for the end of
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: the day. While I'm not a fan of them going
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: after mom and pop shops who were around before BUCkies
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: showed up, you can't mess with the King. There are
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: some businesses who have tried to imitate, knowing they can't
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: come close. What other gas stations have, fuel stations the
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: size of football and lines that resemble amusement parks. I'll
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: take my lawsuit with a side of beaver chips and
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: some Jerry Maple cherkey, please. That's very good. H Either way,
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: they were BUCkies was around before this point. It was
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: they were they in nineteen eighty two. But okay, not
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: in Ohio exactly. So you think it's okay for a
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: company to all of a sudden come into Ohio say hey,
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: you can't have that, even though you've been around in
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: Ohio for twenty years. So why can't I just form
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: horses and go down to Texas and say, hey, BUCkies,
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: I own horses, and that Bucky looks it looks a
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: little close to my horsey. Now you're gonna get sued
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: by BUCkies and you're never gonna get your feet off
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: the ground. Doesn't matter. I'll take I'll get all the money.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: I'll get. Elon must to be a part of it,
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: and we'll take down BUCkies with our horsey. Good luck, Okay,
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: all right, fine, he's got all the money in the world.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: By the way, Yeah, he's doing pretty well. One Josh said,
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: suing Beaver businesses, all the gentlemen's clubs and only fans
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: better watch out. Side note, that's pretty good, Josh, thank
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: you very much. A side note, resting piece to Robbie Albarado. Man,
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: that was horrible news yesterday. And I was always a
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: big fan of Robbie Albarado. I'd been around here a
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: little bit and I was gonna save that for a
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: little later before we left today. But I'll say it now,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: just terrible news because it's all this happened in Saratoga,
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: had surgery on his heart, released him from the hospital,
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: and then he just didn't feel well and passed away.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: And man, what a loss to horse racing. And you're
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: right rest in peace, Robbie Albarado a great guy. I'm
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: trying to think where was he from? Original I think
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Louisiana and uh but but made little made Louisville home
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: and uh great family and uh I was so sorry
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: to hear the news of that happening yesterday. So uh
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: uh anyway, Justin as Well said, uh, let me get to,
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: let me get to By the way, he was from
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: an aria in Louisiana known as the cradle of jockeys.
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: Oh really was it, Alexandra?
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Not sure where? Okay, that's okay. Probably Justin as Well said,
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: probably two opt now I got uh uh, probably too
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: optimistic at nine to three, but stand by the disrespect
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: at four and eight will go bowling, mark my words.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: I don't think you will, buddy. If you want to
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: add on to the bed, I'll take twenty five with
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: you too. Me and you and John can all do
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: uh scoops needs to watch last week Tonight with John Oliver. Uh.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: From two weeks ago, BUCkies is suing multiple small businesses
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: over cop right of logos and some of them are
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: not even the beaver logo. That's the part I don't understand. Yeah, exactly,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: That's that's what I don't understand at all. Why are
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: they going after him? He said? Also, Bucky's beaver logo
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: is already a rip off from the cartoon from the
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: nineteen fifties BUCkies Beaver. Uh So how that guy uh
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: going to sue folks for something he already ripped off. See,
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: I'm with him. I just this is really easy, very similar.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: Oh really, well, then they need to go after him.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: I agree that, Jamie said. Horsey's Michael. You know, I
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: was upset the Thoroughbred Lounge had nothing to do with
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: it horses as a kid, boy, am I glad I
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: didn't go inside. I have no idea what thoroughbread Lounge is.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: By the way, No, honestly, like I've said before, my
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: dad always said, that's not my cup tea. That wasn't
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: my cup of tea. I mean your bachelor parties. Yeah
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: I did. I got kicked out of one in Nashville.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: I got kicked out one in Vegas. Oh did you really?
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: First first one I ever went to? Wow? Got kicked out? Okay, Yeah,
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: I was a little too rambunctious, and I kind of
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: felt like I wanted to get kicked out. So I
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: didn't have to do that. Oh I definitely wanted to
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: because I was wildly uncomfortable the whole time. Oh Now
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: I wasn't uncomfortable. I just got I just got I
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: was I was uncomfortable. No, this lady was doing a
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: dance and then, uh, all of a sudden, she has
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: he's glowing the dark paints and she said, if anyone
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: screams the loudest, I'll throw the sponge at you and
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: you get to keep it and take it home. So
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: she I started screaming like crazy, and then I threw
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: it back at her and hit hit her. It was
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: just a sponge. It's not like I hit her. And
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: then the bouncher ouse there. You need to leave. I'm
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: like good, I'm out of here. Uh. Speaking of Las Vegas,
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: what do you think about Lost rate? The Las Vegas Raiders?
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: How they the package that they sent to their ticket holders.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: Did you see it? No, it's amazing. They made a
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: custom aluminum briefcase and sent this out to all their
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: season ticket holders that contain high end Raiders themed casino
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: and game accessories. Including a premium poker set, custom poker chips,
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: and matching dice with Raiders log all over it. You
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: got to look up the picture of the video of this,
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: and we got Mark Pope out here giving out two
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: T shirts and two halves. Yeah. Yeah, I know the
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: Raiders make a little bit more money than Yeah, but
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: Raiders went all out. I mean, inevidently this is kind
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: of the thing that the Raiders do. It almost made
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: me want to be a Raiders season ticket holder. I
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: mean that was that was freaking cool, by the way.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Uh Okay, now you're looking at it, aren't you. Yeah,
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: I mean that whole briefcase, and then on top of
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: it all, you get the custom poker chips, a premium
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: poker set. So you're telling me, Dice, that's awesome. You're
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: telling me every season ticket holder is getting this. That's
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: what they said. That's awesome. Yeah, every person that is
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: a season ticket holder with the Las Vegas Raiders got
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: that briefcase. I wonder how my season ticket holders. I
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: don't know, Sea, that's a fair question. What do you
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: think twenty five thirty thousand, probably not that many, and
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: you know they had to have gotten a deal for it.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: So they probably didn't pay that much as you not
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: as much. I bet it's I bet they spent one
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: hundred dollars, but they box. Yeah, I was thinking more
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: like sixty okay, all right, than sixty dollars. That's still
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: not you add that up as much as they're spending,
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: because they're counting you spending money, not just on the seasons,
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: concessions and all that stuff. They get their money back. Okay,
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: it's a nice touch. They have fifty five thousand, that's
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: more than what it's if they're sixty. So if it's
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: sixty dollars per case, yeah, then that would be three
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: point three million. That's really not that much for what
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: they're bringing in. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: One person said, Michael, sounds like you weren't sponge worthy.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: He says, by the way, that's a Siginfold reference. There
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: are you a Seinfeld guft No, I didn't have Seinfeld. No, No,
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: I do want to talk about this before we go. Uh.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: There was a Wisconsin man uh that had to get
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: to Cabella's but he said the drive was too long,
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: So what did he do? And this is probably the
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. He flew
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: his helicopter from his home to the cabellas in Wisconsin,
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: and so a police officer comes over and says, sir,
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: may I check your registration. Checked him out and everything.
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: He's like, you know, people called and complained about it,
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: but he had his license, everything was up to date
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: on the helicopter. He landed they safe spot away from everybody.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: He did nothing wrong other than just be the coolest
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: guy out there on the block. That's a while. How
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: do you like that? Can you imagine if you had
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: enough money? You know what, Honey, I gotta go to
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: the store. I think I'll just get in the helicopter
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: and go. I don't feel like driving. Why drive three
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: hours when you can fly for twenty minutes? Exactly? Is
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: that the coolest thing ever? Now, if you had, if
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: you had that kind of money, the kind of money
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: that it doesn't matter what you do, would a helicopter
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: be the one thing you'd buy? Or would you buy
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: something else and not a helicopter? No, see, I wouldn't
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: need I understand how they work. But it just kind
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: of rattles my brain when I look at him, and
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: it's like that one little thing is holding you up. Well,
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: exactly correct me if I'm wrong, If that one little
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: thing that's holding me up goes down, guess what we're
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: going down really fast too. Yeah, that's the one thing
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: I've never liked about that. Yeah, I mean I would
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: feel much more secure and safe than like a private jet.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: That's what I I would like. That's out. I've always
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: wanted a private jet. Imagine having one of those, and
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: just I've always dreamt about having a private jet and
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: just being able to design the inside of it and
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: what it would all look like. Yeah, kind of like
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: you would a house. Yes, I think, Oh yeah, what
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: do you think about your boy Zach Brown? You found
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: the story, didn't you? I don't think so, Oh you did.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: I ran across the story from him yesterday, but I
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: can't remember what it was. Okay. So he celebrated because
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: this was a record at Finway Park, selling out Finway
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: Park fifteen nights. And so what did he do? And
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: that's the most of anybody. Nobody else has sold out
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: thirty seven thousand fans at Finway Park to see a concert.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: So what did he do? On the last night? He
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: gave each person two freak tickets for a cruise and
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: they said that's the most that anybody has ever given away.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: They valued it at forty million dollars. It's pretty awesome. Yes,
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: But if I'm there the first night, second night, any
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: night one through thirteen or fourteen, I'm thinking, dude, I
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: supported you those other nights, Why why can't I get
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: a cruise? I'd kind of be ticked off. It's i mean,
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: luck of it all? Is it? Really? You can't be
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: mad in that situation because you weren't one of the
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: lucky ones. That's that type of envy is just not
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: health It's not. But I just thought, well, I guarantee
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: you though, there are some out there that are upset
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: that they didn't get their free cruise. Now it's on
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: Marguerite Deville, Okay, So I thought that was kind of nice. Sure, yeah,
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: which is not well thought of, by the way. I
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: have heard that. Yeah, yeah, but I mean it's it's
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: it's I don't know if you could turn around and
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: sell it or not. But I thought that was kind
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: of cool. That's what I would do. Yeah, I don't
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: have a desire to cruise, so yeah, you don't really
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: I'd probably kind of like Matt he gets on there,
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: and starts dancing like a ridiculous doing a leg dance
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: and contest. Oh come on, you know, where's the fun
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: coming at. I just don't want to be I've never
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: wanted to be trapped in one place. I don't like
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: that about a cruise. And I know, you port, you
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: get to get off and whatnot. You do you don't
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: I'm not getting the freedom to do whatever I want
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: it all times. Okay, that's where I would have all right,
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: then well fair enough. If that's not what you want
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: to do, that's not See. I'm kind of the same
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: way about cruises and resorts. I don't like going to
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: resorts because I feel like I'm in prison. I know
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: I can leave, but well most people don't. It's like,
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: I don't do resorts. I don't like, Oh you do,
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: I've been. I've been to one and it was all
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: inclusive and it was awesome. Really, they had like seven
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: or eight restaurants on this on this resort, so you
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: could literally eat whatever you wanted. I mean, I was
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: drunk every day, so do you Wow, that's a nice
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: thing to totally admit. I mean, I'm more talking hammer.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Why would you say something like I was eighteen years
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: old in Mexico. Oh okay, that's the difference, that's why. Yeah,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: I get that. So this is yeah, yeah, Mexico. And
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: yeah you get the free drinks and everything else. Yeah,
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: I get it. We had a good time. Yeah, I'll
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: never forget. My young oldest son kept going, getting the
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: Virgin Margarita's and he loved the flight. No, yeah, Pinia Coladas,
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: Penia Colottus. That was it. Yeah, So all right, everybody,
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: appreciate you listen, appreciate all the texts. Have a great day.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: We'll see you tomorrow. Just a catch
