Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're picking up where we
• 0:06
Speaker 1: left off with Doug Band and his interview with Congress.
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Question your friendship with miss Maxwell. You said many times
• 0:14
Speaker 1: that you don't recall regarding that relationship, but you say
• 0:17
Speaker 1: that you were friends Band, we were friends. Question, but
• 0:21
Speaker 1: you don't recall many many interactions with her? Answer? No, sir,
• 0:25
  Speaker 1: I don't recall Higgins. That's all. Now it's mister Harness
• 0:29
Speaker 1: doing the questioning again. Question, just to touch quickly on this,
• 0:34
Speaker 1: did you ever have a conversation with President Clinton about
• 0:36
Speaker 1: mister Epstein's assistants or young women around mister Epstein? Answer?
• 0:41
Speaker 1: Not that I recall. Question Okay, I'd like to introduce
• 0:44
Speaker 1: into the record majority Exhibit one. This is an email
• 0:48
Speaker 1: chain on April thirteenth, two thousand and three between the
• 0:51
Speaker 1: WJC email address, which I will admit to you is
• 0:55
Speaker 1: WJC at imc ingu l R dot com singular with
• 1:02
Speaker 1: the C and Glene Maxwell. This is Mark Desbates number
• 1:05
  Speaker 1: e F T A zero zero five eight two three
• 1:08
Speaker 1: two six. Will give you a moment to review this answer.
• 1:12
Speaker 1: Thank you. Question mister Band. Outside of preparation for this interview.
• 1:18
Speaker 1: Have you ever seen these messages before? Answer? I don't
• 1:21
Speaker 1: recall this message at all. No. Question from the WJC
• 1:25
Speaker 1: email address. Did you send that email? Answer I don't
• 1:28
Speaker 1: recall sending it. Question mister band, is that WJC email address?
• 1:33
Speaker 1: Is that your email address? Answer? You know, I don't
• 1:36
Speaker 1: remember specifically the email addresses that we used and we
• 1:39
Speaker 1: didn't use, but I believe so. Question So, mister Band,
• 1:42
Speaker 1: did you have access to a WJC email account to
• 1:46
Speaker 1: which I've already laid out to you. Did you have
• 1:49
Speaker 1: access to that? Answer, to the best of my recollection, yes,
• 1:53
Speaker 1: Question did anyone else have access to that email address? Answer?
• 1:56
Speaker 1: I don't think so, not that I can recall. Question
• 2:00
Speaker 1: So then we can agree that if you don't recall
• 2:02
Speaker 1: anybody else having access to this, but you had access
• 2:06
Speaker 1: to this this is your email? Answer I believe so.
• 2:09
Speaker 1: But again, this is twenty three years ago. Question just
• 2:12
Speaker 1: working through the substance of the email. It opens with
• 2:15
Speaker 1: just spook to our favorite person, mister Levine? Is that
• 2:18
Speaker 1: Philip Levine that you're referring to? Answer? You know, again,
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: I just don't remember the email, so I don't know,
• 2:24
Speaker 1: possibly sure. Question who is mister Levine? Answer Philip Levine
• 2:28
Speaker 1: is a president or a friend of President Clinton's. Question
• 2:31
Speaker 1: was he your friend as well? Answer? We became friends? Yeah.
• 2:35
Speaker 1: Question when did you become friends with mister Levine? Answer?
• 2:39
Speaker 1: I don't recall specifically when we became friends. Question do
• 2:42
Speaker 1: you know who introduced you to mister Levine? Answer? I
• 2:45
Speaker 1: don't remember. Question can you characterize your relationship with mister Levine?
• 2:50
Speaker 1: Answer socially friends? Question and how long did you have
• 2:54
Speaker 1: a relationship with mister Levine? Answer? I don't remember specifically.
• 2:58
Speaker 1: He was again a friend of the residents and important
• 3:01
Speaker 1: to him, and we were friends. We became friends as well,
• 3:06
Speaker 1: and by socially question what does that mean you attended
• 3:09
Speaker 1: functions together? You saw each other purely at work type events.
• 3:13
Speaker 1: What does socially friends mean to you? Answer? Yeah, I
• 3:17
Speaker 1: mean I was a young, single, unmarried guy in New
• 3:19
Speaker 1: York in my late twenties when President Clinton left the
• 3:22
Speaker 1: White House and I was friends with Philip. Question can
• 3:25
Speaker 1: you approximate when your relationship with Philip Levine started? Answer?
• 3:29
Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I just don't remember when. Question, Well, this
• 3:32
Speaker 1: is you emailing about saying our favorite person, mister Levine,
• 3:36
Speaker 1: So would you say that he was a close friend
• 3:38
Speaker 1: at the time of the email? Answer? You know again,
• 3:42
Speaker 1: I would characterize him as a friend. As I said
• 3:44
Speaker 1: about these emails, they were you know, written a long
• 3:47
Speaker 1: time ago, flirtatious, joking, messing around, silly emails. So I
• 3:50
Speaker 1: don't remember. Question. The reason I ask is that we
• 3:54
Speaker 1: heard testimony that Philip Levine has sexually assaulted victims of
• 3:58
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein around the time I am of the early
• 4:00
Speaker 1: two thousands. Do you have any knowledge of mister Levine
• 4:03
Speaker 1: committing these acts? Did you ever hear a conversation with
• 4:06
Speaker 1: mister Levine about him sexually assaulting women? Answer no, absolutely not.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: Question do you have any knowledge at any time that
• 4:14
Speaker 1: mister Levine was in sexual contact with a woman or
• 4:16
Speaker 1: young girl associated with mister Epstein or Miss Maxwell? Answer no.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: Question so you never had a conversation with mister Levine
• 4:24
Speaker 1: about any woman associated to Miss Maxwell or Epstein. Answer
• 4:28
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question. Working through this email, it
• 4:32
Speaker 1: seems that you and mister Levine were going to try
• 4:34
Speaker 1: to do a lunch Tuesday or Wednesday. Did that lunch
• 4:37
Speaker 1: ever occur around this day? Answer? I have no idea.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: I don't remember the email. Question. Moving on, it seems
• 4:44
Speaker 1: that you, mister Levine, were fretting over your women troubles.
• 4:48
Speaker 1: Do you recall the nature of the conversation with mister Levine?
• 4:51
Speaker 1: What were the women troubles? Answer? No, I don't question.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: You state that this is you're trying to set up
• 4:57
Speaker 1: a lunch prior to a dinner. This is a dinner
• 5:00
Speaker 1: that supposedly happened on April fifteenth, two thousand and three,
• 5:03
Speaker 1: at Jeffrey Epstein's New York Manhattan town home. Did you
• 5:06
Speaker 1: attend that dinner? Answer? As I said earlier, the only
• 5:10
Speaker 1: time I remember attending a dinner at his house was
• 5:13
Speaker 1: with a large number of people. Originally I was going
• 5:15
Speaker 1: to staff President Clinton, and he decided not to go
• 5:18
Speaker 1: to the dinner, and I went and attended the dinner.
• 5:20
Speaker 1: Question Who attended the dinner? Answer? I don't remember specifically
• 5:24
Speaker 1: who attended the dinner. Question You don't recall any single
• 5:27
Speaker 1: person by name attending the dinner. Answer again, I'm sorry.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: As I said, we just attended so many dinners over
• 5:34
Speaker 1: so many years, and this was, you know, almost two
• 5:37
Speaker 1: and a half decades ago, so I don't remember specifically
• 5:39
Speaker 1: who was there. Question I'm just going to run through
• 5:43
Speaker 1: this list and see if it refreshes your memory on
• 5:45
Speaker 1: who attended the dinner. Glenn Maxwell answer possibly, I mean,
• 5:49
Speaker 1: I just don't remember. Question did Jeffrey Epstein attend the dinner? Answer?
• 5:53
Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't recall him being there or not,
• 5:56
Speaker 1: but it was at his house, so I assume. So
• 5:58
Speaker 1: question was Frederick Fokai attending the dinner? Answer? I don't
• 6:02
Speaker 1: remember Tom Pritzker, I don't recall question. Philip Levine answer.
• 6:07
Speaker 1: I don't recall question. Sergey Brynn answer. I don't recall question.
• 6:11
Speaker 1: Leone Black answer. I don't recall question. Lauren Stroll answer
• 6:15
Speaker 1: same emer can you speak up band them? Sorry? I
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: don't recall same answer. I don't recall Jess Staley. I
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: don't recall John Brockman. I don't recall David Blaine. I
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: don't recall mort Zuckerman. I don't recall Peter Mandelsson. I
• 6:30
Speaker 1: don't recall question did any member of the Clinton family
• 6:33
Speaker 1: attend this dinner? Answer not that I recall question. In
• 6:37
Speaker 1: this email, it seems that you're talking about a brenda.
• 6:40
Speaker 1: Who is the brenda that you were referring to? Answer?
• 6:44
Speaker 1: You know again, I don't recall the email, so I
• 6:46
Speaker 1: don't know. I dated somebody named Brenda. Question and who
• 6:49
Speaker 1: was that? Answer? A woman named Brenda Shadd. Question did
• 6:54
Speaker 1: miss Shadd have any relationship or association with mister Epstein
• 6:57
Speaker 1: or Maxwell? Answer not that I know of. Question You
• 7:00
Speaker 1: go on to say that speak for this he meaning
• 7:03
Speaker 1: mister Levine is bringing the brit to jay Ease. Who
• 7:06
Speaker 1: is the brit that mister Levine was transporting? Answer? I
• 7:10
Speaker 1: have no idea. I don't remember. Question Were there any
• 7:13
Speaker 1: young women or girls present at the dinner? Answer? I
• 7:15
Speaker 1: don't recall. Question. I'll report to you that there is
• 7:18
Speaker 1: an email exchange between you and miss Maxwell where she
• 7:22
Speaker 1: states to you that you should know that the people
• 7:24
Speaker 1: who are going to be serving along with the staff
• 7:27
Speaker 1: are five models. Did any female models attend the dinner? Answer?
• 7:31
Speaker 1: I don't remember whether they did or didn't. Question you
• 7:33
Speaker 1: don't recall if there was ever any women or young
• 7:35
Speaker 1: girls attending the dinner? Answer no, sir, I do not. Question. Finally,
• 7:40
Speaker 1: just one last part of that email, it seems that
• 7:42
Speaker 1: you're talking about talking to miss Maxwell saying we figured
• 7:46
Speaker 1: you would come maybe a late night burgerfest. Again, what
• 7:49
Speaker 1: does Burgerfest mean. Answer, I have no idea. I mean,
• 7:54
Speaker 1: as I sit here today, I'd like to go to
• 7:55
Speaker 1: Melons on the Upper east Side in New York. It's
• 7:58
Speaker 1: opened very, very late. It's one of the only places
• 8:01
Speaker 1: so I possibly could have been that, But I don't
• 8:03
Speaker 1: remember anything. I don't remember this email or anything about it. Question.
• 8:07
Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell replies, saying how happy she is, contemplating how
• 8:10
Speaker 1: lucky she is being with her two favorite men. Why
• 8:13
Speaker 1: would Miss Maxwell consider you one of her favorite men
• 8:16
Speaker 1: at the time? Answer, I have no idea, mister Emmer. Question,
• 8:20
Speaker 1: mister band during your opening, you testified to not going
• 8:23
Speaker 1: to mister Epstein's island. Is that right? Answer? Yes? Question
• 8:27
Speaker 1: did you ever visit the pom Beach Home? Answer no,
• 8:30
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question did you ever visit the
• 8:32
Speaker 1: New Mexico Ranch? Answer no, not that I recall. Question
• 8:36
Speaker 1: what about his apartment in Paris? No question? And you
• 8:40
Speaker 1: testified you had been to the Manhattan home? Is that right?
• 8:43
Speaker 1: Answer yes? Question what do you remember from your visit
• 8:47
Speaker 1: to the property? Answer? Yeah, As I said, those two
• 8:50
Speaker 1: instances are all that I recall. Once when staffing President
• 8:53
Speaker 1: Clinton and the other was for dinner. Question and It's
• 8:57
Speaker 1: been reported, and we have seen from the files released
• 9:00
Speaker 1: by the Department of Justice that mister Epstein decorated his
• 9:03
Speaker 1: home with odd and unusual weird artwork. Do you have
• 9:07
Speaker 1: any recollection of seeing anything that you thought was unusual
• 9:10
Speaker 1: on his property? Answer I've seen those reports as well.
• 9:14
Speaker 1: I do not. I recall when I staffed the president there.
• 9:16
Speaker 1: I went in the door and sat in the front
• 9:19
Speaker 1: sort of waiting area of the foyer, whatever you want
• 9:21
Speaker 1: to call it, and didn't go into the house or
• 9:23
Speaker 1: go on a tour. I don't recall seeing anything. Question
• 9:27
Speaker 1: you didn't see nude paintings or photography? Answer not that
• 9:30
Speaker 1: I recall no. Question did you see cameras in the property?
• 9:33
Speaker 1: Answer no, not that I recall. Question there's a weird
• 9:37
Speaker 1: photo that portrays your former boss wearing a dress. Did
• 9:40
Speaker 1: you see that photo or painting while you're on the property?
• 9:43
Speaker 1: Answer I don't recall seeing the photo. I've seen it
• 9:46
Speaker 1: in print. Subsequently, question by mister Harness, But you weren't
• 9:50
Speaker 1: aware of that painting existing during the time of knowing
• 9:53
Speaker 1: mister Epstein and Maxwell, answer no, not that. I recall.
• 9:57
Speaker 1: Mister Grant asking a question mister Bant did Glenn Maxwell
• 10:01
Speaker 1: or Jeffrey Epstein ever inform you that they were working
• 10:03
Speaker 1: with any intelligent service of any nation, including the United States,
• 10:08
Speaker 1: mister Band, no grant. During your relationship or time knowing
• 10:12
Speaker 1: mister Epstein and miss Maxwell, did you ever suspect mister
• 10:16
Speaker 1: Epstein or miss Maxwell of being affiliated with an intelligence agency?
• 10:21
Speaker 1: Mister Band, not that I recall, mister Harness. We'll go
• 10:26
Speaker 1: off the record, and now they're back on question. Good morning,
• 10:28
Speaker 1: mister Band, answer a good morning question. My name is redacted,
• 10:32
Speaker 1: and my colleagues redacted and redacted, and I will be
• 10:34
Speaker 1: conducting the questioning for the minority. We appreciate your willingness
• 10:38
Speaker 1: to speak with us today. I have a couple of
• 10:41
Speaker 1: notes before we begin. First, some of our questions may
• 10:44
Speaker 1: be a little repetitive to those of our majority colleagues.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: We're going to do our best to keep that at
• 10:50
Speaker 1: a minimum. And then, secondly, to the extent that any
• 10:53
Speaker 1: of our questions or your answers contain the names of
• 10:56
Speaker 1: survivors or their I identifying information, we would ask that
• 10:59
Speaker 1: the GJORDI redact that information prior to releasing the transcript publicly.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: And with that will get started. Mister Band. You spoke
• 11:07
Speaker 1: about much of this in the prior hour, but just
• 11:09
Speaker 1: so we're clear for the record, I'm going to ask
• 11:12
Speaker 1: you to set a foundational questions about Jeffrey Epstein and
• 11:15
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell. To your knowledge, did President Clinton ever engage
• 11:19
Speaker 1: in sexual activity with a person introduced to him by
• 11:21
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer no question. Prior to
• 11:25
Speaker 1: Epstein's indictment in two thousand and six, do you have
• 11:28
Speaker 1: any firsthand knowledge of President Clinton being aware of sexual
• 11:31
Speaker 1: abuse committed by Jeffrey Epstein, Answer no question. Prior to
• 11:35
Speaker 1: Epstein's indictment in two thousand and six, did you have
• 11:38
Speaker 1: any firsthand knowledge of Secretary Clinton being aware of sexual
• 11:41
Speaker 1: abuse committed by Jeffrey Epstein? Answer no question. Earlier this year,
• 11:45
Speaker 1: President Clinton testified under oath that he has never visited
• 11:48
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's former estate on Little Saint James Island. Mister Band,
• 11:53
Speaker 1: do you have any firsthand knowledge to dispute President Clinton's testimony?
• 11:56
Speaker 1: Answer no question. You discussed your time the White House
• 12:00
Speaker 1: with my Majority colleagues, and again, just to revisit that time,
• 12:04
Speaker 1: we understand that President Clinton. During President Clinton's time in office,
• 12:08
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein visited the White House on seventeen occasions from
• 12:11
Speaker 1: ninety three to ninety five. Did you have any role
• 12:14
Speaker 1: in those visits? Answer no, I did not. I was
• 12:16
Speaker 1: in college. Question And in October of nineteen ninety nine,
• 12:21
Speaker 1: toward the end of President Clinton's tenure, Epstein contributed twenty
• 12:25
Speaker 1: thousand to Hillary's joint fundraising account. At that time, were
• 12:28
Speaker 1: you aware of the contribution? Answer no. Question. Did you
• 12:31
Speaker 1: play any role in securing the contribution? Answer no question.
• 12:36
Speaker 1: And as you discussed, President Clinton's final day in office
• 12:38
Speaker 1: was January twentieth, two thousand and one, and after that
• 12:41
Speaker 1: he left office, you continued to work for him. And again,
• 12:44
Speaker 1: just so the record's clear, in total, how long did
• 12:47
Speaker 1: you work for President Clinton? Answer? Well, I was an
• 12:50
Speaker 1: intern in the fall in ninety five, consider that working
• 12:53
Speaker 1: or not. I was hired on staff I believe in
• 12:55
Speaker 1: early ninety six, and left some time in early mid
• 12:58
Speaker 1: twenty twelve. And okay, do you remember the particular date
• 13:02
Speaker 1: when you last work for President Clinton? Answer I'm sorry,
• 13:06
Speaker 1: it's a good question. Sometime in the early to mid
• 13:08
Speaker 1: part of twenty twelve. Question okay, and when was the
• 13:11
Speaker 1: last time you spoke with President Clinton? Answer. You know,
• 13:14
Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I believe it's been at least
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: a decade since I spoke with them, but I don't
• 13:18
Speaker 1: recall specifically. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap up right here,
• 13:23
Speaker 1: and in the next episode, we're gonna pick up where
• 13:25
Speaker 1: we left off. All the information that goes with this
• 13:28
Speaker 1: episode can be found in the description box.
