- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on relatables, you can't see super far ahead
- 0:04Speaker 1: of you, like if it was dark, you wouldn't be
- 0:05Speaker 1: able to see so far ahead of you, Like like
- 0:07Speaker 1: we're in the dark. Everyone's in the dark in life,
- 0:10Speaker 1: and so like if you can see the next step,
- 0:12Speaker 1: that's all you gotta take. Yeah, and so like I
- 0:15Speaker 1: will say, it's easier said than done. But at the
- 0:17Speaker 1: same time, it's like if you can keep in the
- 0:18Speaker 1: back of your head that it's like, what's my next step?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Like I don't need to think ten.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Steps ahead, what's my next I think that might be
- 0:24Speaker 1: my problem singular step, Yeah.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Because I'm thinking so far ahead, like what's the best
- 0:28Speaker 2: for our future? Yeah? Where was like in reality, I
- 0:29Speaker 2: just need to do one thing at a time. The
- 0:42Speaker 2: Reliables podcast is hosted by myself, Audie Clark aka Mummy,
- 0:46Speaker 2: and mister Jake Craig aka Daddy. Hello everybody.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I thought I was supposed to say, mommy, oh, took
- 0:54Speaker 1: out of my mouth. I say, he kept going and
- 0:58Speaker 1: I was like, fuck, I was on a roll, man, Sorry,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I was.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I always think of something creative in my head to
- 1:04Speaker 2: do around Daddy, And then I was like, this time,
- 1:06Speaker 2: I'm just going to go straight into it. CV just
- 1:07Speaker 2: doesn't saynything, but I did.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I I thought you were going to do something about
- 1:13Speaker 1: something about Star Wars because of what I texted you earlier.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know what I did with that as well.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I freak.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I sent a normal message that I would send and
- 1:21Speaker 1: I was like, repeat this back to me. But as
- 1:22Speaker 1: If Yoda said it, and then I sent it to you, did.
- 1:24Speaker 2: You send it on like jvts I thing, fuck it
- 1:27Speaker 2: now advand went on.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I was like, I needed textus to a friend. Can
- 1:32Speaker 1: you send it back to me? Betters if Yoda said it.
- 1:35Speaker 2: A friend, but now you've brought it up you you
- 1:39Speaker 2: sent me today, Okay, I reckon. My response was lo
- 1:42Speaker 2: key better to be fair. No, the response was good
- 1:44Speaker 2: and that was from my brain. Yeahad you laugh.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So what I said to Doddie was good morning, part
- 1:51Speaker 1: of one hmm chiropractor at twelve ten, I have but
- 1:56Speaker 1: quick it usually is a one thirty start you wish
- 1:59Speaker 1: to do question mark your Jedi master Yoda, And then
- 2:04Speaker 1: all he said back morning Master, Fountain of youth is
- 2:10Speaker 1: what you need. Age is becoming your powers one thirty start?
- 2:17Speaker 2: What is it? Age is becoming of your power.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Age is becoming of your powers. One thirty start. Okay,
- 2:22Speaker 1: my time to step up.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'll be ready. You're young padawan, soon to be ruler
- 2:28Speaker 2: now Ada. See we're not boring around it. We could
- 2:34Speaker 2: have just said that you're right to record at one thirty,
- 2:35Speaker 2: but we make things interesting.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I was like, I just I was like, I wanted
- 2:39Speaker 1: to wake up to like just at least something to
- 2:40Speaker 1: at least he may not laugh what he might think idiot?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah I did, I think idiot. But Jake, I want
- 2:47Speaker 2: to start today with three words. Oh shit, okay, I
- 2:50Speaker 2: think can I guess them? Okay? I love you? No? No,
- 2:55Speaker 2: don't give it for yourself today calling yourself Yoda and
- 2:58Speaker 2: thinking I love you. That's not what I was going
- 3:01Speaker 2: to say. Three words are work Christmas party we've ever had?
- 3:07Speaker 2: We've never had one, and it's the time to be jolly.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And everyone's telling me about their work Christmas parties. And
- 3:15Speaker 2: I was thinking to myself like, oh, this sounds pretty fun.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And I was thinking like, oh no, we probably won't
- 3:19Speaker 2: have one. There's only two people at there's only two
- 3:22Speaker 2: people at Relatable studios. But here's the kicker, right, Yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 2: there's two things I love in this world the gym
- 3:32Speaker 2: and Goodman there's one of them, Goodsman and saving money
- 3:37Speaker 2: slash free stuff fair and you know what a work
- 3:40Speaker 2: Christmas party is? Wait a second, go on, but I
- 3:42Speaker 2: have an idea. It's a tax right off, so we
- 3:48Speaker 2: should here's a plan like that's that's why all these
- 3:51Speaker 2: the companies don't do it out the goodness of their heart.
- 3:54Speaker 2: No they don't. They do it because it's a big
- 3:56Speaker 2: tax right off at the end of the year all
- 3:59Speaker 2: the he's big, like theyre going to like hire these
- 4:01Speaker 2: places out drinks, tax right off food?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Is it a fully tax deductible because I've recently learned,
- 4:07Speaker 1: like you know how like people have always said to us,
- 4:11Speaker 1: you could that's a tax right off for you. That's
- 4:12Speaker 1: a tax right off for you, And so many times
- 4:14Speaker 1: I'm just like, I don't want to deal with that.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But now that the last time we went to our account,
- 4:18Speaker 1: he actually explained what it is. And some things are
- 4:20Speaker 1: like fully a tax right off and some things are
- 4:24Speaker 1: what was the word are you used?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Like partial? Yeah, yeah, like weird half or whatever. But yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I didn't look it up. I say, we don't look
- 4:31Speaker 2: it up, okay, And either we go to some nice restaurant,
- 4:35Speaker 2: have a couple of coke zeros you were meet, and
- 4:38Speaker 2: then or we take our girlfriends and we're nice work
- 4:41Speaker 2: Christmas party.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I mean fair, the girlfriends are quite often involved.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, come together. I'm going to my.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Dad's work Christmas party because it's his last one for
- 4:48Speaker 1: the company he has.
- 4:49Speaker 2: That's gonna say, like freebious. Yeah, like they.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Invited us because it's going to be his last one
- 4:53Speaker 1: because he's leaving the company. So and like all of
- 4:57Speaker 1: the people that work for him, like all the winds
- 4:59Speaker 1: that it's on the fourteenth of December.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Well, go to that one, talk to some people, see
- 5:05Speaker 2: what's deductible or not? Okay, yeah, and then we'll bring
- 5:08Speaker 2: that to us. Maybe we should get some presents for
- 5:10Speaker 2: each other tax deductible.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It's all doctor, you have a little secret, San, But
- 5:17Speaker 1: what was your idea? So, because you when you were
- 5:19Speaker 1: saying like you love goodsman and you love saving money,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I was going to say, because like Oddie is the
- 5:28Speaker 1: king of Facebook marketplace, Like I'll point out this is
- 5:33Speaker 1: the first phone he's ever had, brand new.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I swear the other phone is just like the marketplace.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I only got it because one of our mate's friends
- 5:41Speaker 2: got like six of them heaps cheap at work and
- 5:43Speaker 2: I got it off him for like a third of
- 5:45Speaker 2: the price. Yeah, fucking ridiculous savings. There you go.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Another example. But I was going to say, maybe we should,
- 5:53Speaker 1: like for our Christmas party, just like get together at
- 5:58Speaker 1: Guzman right Coke Zeros or a nice restaurant up to you,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and we should do your favorite thing ever and try
- 6:04Speaker 1: and lowboll people on Facebook marketplace because we are saving money,
- 6:07Speaker 1: and because it's at the work Christmas party.
- 6:09Speaker 2: That's a good idea. Whatever we buy is a potential
- 6:11Speaker 2: tax right off.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Shit.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I was looking yesterday too and there was this sick
- 6:16Speaker 2: It was there like a vinyl player, yeah, nineteen fifties
- 6:19Speaker 2: and it was in like a big box and needed restoring.
- 6:22Speaker 2: But like we could low ball. I've got that one saved.
- 6:23Speaker 2: So I've already got one ready. It's a great that's
- 6:25Speaker 2: a great idea.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You know what I like about old furniture like that,
- 6:31Speaker 1: how it's like that thing has one purpose and it's
- 6:33Speaker 1: a player song.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And now we have like bluetooth speakers and then little
- 6:37Speaker 1: take up as little space possible, even though and now
- 6:39Speaker 1: they're better at they're like better sound quality or whatever.
- 6:42Speaker 1: The thing I like about back in the day was
- 6:44Speaker 1: they would make a vinyl player as like a statement
- 6:47Speaker 1: piece in the house. Oh yeah, and like, didn't you
- 6:50Speaker 1: buy one of those old TVs?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Oh you're no, yours is a vinyl player. Yeah, it
- 6:53Speaker 2: doesn't work, but that's what my TV s it's not.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I was gonna say, it's like this old statement piece
- 6:58Speaker 2: and no one does that anymore, I know, And they're
- 7:00Speaker 2: coming back in they are. Yeah. So business plan, man,
- 7:04Speaker 2: we could get some lowball like six people in marketplace
- 7:06Speaker 2: with these old vinyl things. Share do them up. But
- 7:09Speaker 2: that's a great transition, man, Okay into what I wanted
- 7:12Speaker 2: to start the podcast with. After we that's all like
- 7:14Speaker 2: we'll get the some logistics of our work Christmas party. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 2: plant some stuff, so you go go do some due
- 7:19Speaker 2: diligence at your dad's fucking work Christmas party. I'll be
- 7:22Speaker 2: it's investigative. I assume there's a lot of like smart
- 7:25Speaker 2: people there.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yes, go there to two guys that own the company,
- 7:28Speaker 1: are pretty smart.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Where are your glasses so you fit in? Like, hey, guys, thinking.
- 7:34Speaker 1: About I had to go buy a fucking outfit for
- 7:35Speaker 1: it because it's cocktail theme perfect and I had to
- 7:38Speaker 1: go like, actually, like my stepmom, she was like showing
- 7:42Speaker 1: me what male cocktail is and she was like, she
- 7:45Speaker 1: was like, you're not.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Like she was like, you have to go buy something
- 7:48Speaker 2: like this. So I had to so go do that.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Where are your glasses? Keller? Guys, I'm thinking about hosting
- 7:52Speaker 2: what are these mostlf Should I fucking should I bring
- 7:57Speaker 2: a briefcase? Bring like a nice like yeah, it make
- 8:00Speaker 2: yourself look smart? Maybe a blazer then take it off
- 8:03Speaker 2: it's hot, Yeah it's summer. But what else I wanted
- 8:08Speaker 2: to start the podcast with. This was from high demand
- 8:10Speaker 2: while we're doing it, because everybody wants a big insight too.
- 8:14Speaker 2: What to get your man for Christmas? Yes, and going
- 8:17Speaker 2: off what we're talking about with those old vinyl players
- 8:20Speaker 2: is this is in now at the moment, get your
- 8:23Speaker 2: man records from his favorite artist.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Or that is in.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It's so in, And you might be thinking yourself, he
- 8:31Speaker 2: doesn't have a record or a vinyl player, Either he
- 8:33Speaker 2: gets one or they're fucking sick little art pieces. That's
- 8:36Speaker 2: exactly what I was about to say.
- 8:38Speaker 1: You don't even need to like because if he can
- 8:41Speaker 1: go listen to it on Spotify. Yeah, but having them
- 8:45Speaker 1: hung up in your room is like a very cool art.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so sick. Shit, that's such a good point.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'm fucking one from one already. What do you got, right?
- 8:56Speaker 2: I thought of a couple, and I guarantee Jake's got
- 8:59Speaker 2: two of them. Really, Yeah, din't. I didn't put him
- 9:01Speaker 2: down because I knew you have him.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Okay, well, you're very quickly going to see the route.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I talk with this very quickly. Can I try and
- 9:07Speaker 2: guess one? Yeah? Okay, one of those you go to
- 9:11Speaker 2: the beach excavators. Oh.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I was gonna write, damn it, I was gonna write that,
- 9:18Speaker 1: but I was kind of like, oh, I just don't
- 9:21Speaker 1: think O you would like that. I think I'm so
- 9:23Speaker 1: I feel like I'm so individual in that sense.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I had to be fair, would have.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah, No, it's fucking kean. I'm definitely getting one.
- 9:31Speaker 2: But okay, what to.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Get your boyfriend for Christmas? Gracie Abrams tickets? Because if
- 9:40Speaker 1: you're having a good time, he's having a good.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Time, that's a great mindset to be fair. I'm trying
- 9:46Speaker 2: to say, you just double wammy's in there. She came
- 9:49Speaker 2: She came on in my shuffle the other day. Really,
- 9:50Speaker 2: I was like, fuck, she's pretty good. Have you listened
- 9:53Speaker 2: to much of her?
- 9:53Speaker 1: I do occasionally, Yeah, okay, cool, I do really like
- 9:56Speaker 1: it because, yeah, Beth is obsessed with her, and so
- 9:59Speaker 1: I just like in my little like page on Spotify
- 10:02Speaker 1: where it has those like six most recent things, she's
- 10:05Speaker 1: like always there. And so I've kind of like always
- 10:08Speaker 1: listened to podcasts and then when I've got when I've
- 10:10Speaker 1: listened to all my podcasts for the week and I'm
- 10:11Speaker 1: not interested in them anymore. I will listen to music,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but I always go to Gracie Abrams and she's fucking
- 10:17Speaker 1: blowing up a Really, I thought she was already huge.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It's just like getting more Sabrina Carpenter. Now it's like
- 10:22Speaker 1: the same thing. Like she's just like on the I
- 10:24Speaker 1: do like.
- 10:24Speaker 2: A disciproenting Carpenter too. Yeah, you know what, she knows
- 10:26Speaker 2: how to make a pop song.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I know, I will say she has trying to make
- 10:29Speaker 1: pop song and it's a little weird because I feel
- 10:31Speaker 1: like it's geared to young girls.
- 10:32Speaker 2: She's like my guilty pledge. Now I feel a bit
- 10:35Speaker 2: like I shouldn't be listening to this, like I wouldn't
- 10:37Speaker 2: want to be called Cashie showed me and I was like,
- 10:39Speaker 2: this isn't great. But then like then, the exact same
- 10:43Speaker 2: thing happened when Sabrina Carpenter popped in my top six
- 10:45Speaker 2: on Spotify. Yeah, and I was like, oh play And
- 10:47Speaker 2: then I was planning like this kind of a bot.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Yeah, there's the there's this one called bed cam and
- 10:56Speaker 3: it's just all about sex really, but I don't know
- 10:59Speaker 3: how she gets away with it, but girls love it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I don't blame him, all right. My next one things
- 11:07Speaker 2: to get your man for Christmas and Apple Watch and
- 11:12Speaker 2: he is why So your man might not be that
- 11:14Speaker 2: good at replying. He's always got the watch on and
- 11:17Speaker 2: replies come replies come up straight away, so he always
- 11:21Speaker 2: sees your messages and or it doesn't vibrate.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It does so when you get to text, it vibrates.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So that means that every single time you text him,
- 11:27Speaker 1: you know he's seen it. So if he takes a
- 11:28Speaker 1: while to reply, you know he's being lazy.
- 11:30Speaker 2: That also means he's going to be thinking about you
- 11:32Speaker 2: more throughout the day because he's risk is always vibrating. Brady,
- 11:35Speaker 2: you can always turn that off, but like, yeah, nah,
- 11:37Speaker 2: who's going to turn that's a present? A fuck? Does
- 11:39Speaker 2: that get annoying?
- 11:41Speaker 1: No?
- 11:41Speaker 2: No, I like it. Oh I kind of like it
- 11:43Speaker 2: because it gets me off my phone. Like I look
- 11:44Speaker 2: in instead of checking my phone, I check my watch
- 11:46Speaker 2: and I go on it and see that shit fair enough?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Can you like go and actually reply slowly like yeah,
- 11:50Speaker 2: yeah he has auto little hack, dude, this isn't good.
- 11:53Speaker 2: But so text messages come up and instead of replying,
- 11:57Speaker 2: your watch gives you like three things to pick from
- 12:00Speaker 2: his click on it. You don't have to actually respond,
- 12:02Speaker 2: but I mean, like, it doesn't matter that you didn't.
- 12:04Speaker 2: You would have thought of saying that. You're just like
- 12:06Speaker 2: thanks for the hell, it doesn't really matter.
- 12:09Speaker 1: At least you reply pretty good to be fair, that's funny.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, because I've been working out and
- 12:13Speaker 1: puting my phone down because I can change music on here. Yeah,
- 12:15Speaker 1: that's it sounds like a fucking ambassador fucking Apple watches.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I wish we got paid for by Apple, but I've
- 12:21Speaker 1: been trying to get off my phone recently, and that's
- 12:22Speaker 1: also why I got an Apple Watch. And I was like,
- 12:24Speaker 1: this is great, and I leave my phone down just
- 12:25Speaker 1: because I like to skip songs. No know, same, same same,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I reckon the coolest thing because Beth has an Apple watch.
- 12:31Speaker 1: The coolest thing about it I've noticed is because like
- 12:34Speaker 1: she does it all the time.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I do it a little bit.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm not as bad, but she's always like, oh shit,
- 12:38Speaker 1: where's my phone?
- 12:39Speaker 2: And a yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You click a button and your phone just goes like yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and then you're like, oh shit, it's over here. It's
- 12:45Speaker 1: like a like a so nae system.
- 12:46Speaker 2: And there's another present is coming up with him right now.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You putn't get it? Yeah, man, an Apple tag and
- 12:52Speaker 2: then he puts it on his keys and then you
- 12:54Speaker 2: never never lose him. You never look. You can do
- 12:57Speaker 2: it that way, or you can ping your what you
- 13:00Speaker 2: just brought him where your keys are in case you
- 13:02Speaker 2: lose your keys. Oh he did the exact same thing
- 13:05Speaker 2: apple tag.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I gotta say, like, once again, we're not endorsing Apple,
- 13:08Speaker 1: but the Apple ecosystem is like completely a different tear
- 13:14Speaker 1: to any other ecosysm. I know the stories of we
- 13:19Speaker 1: don't condone this activity where like people have put Apple
- 13:22Speaker 1: tags actually in their partner's car and hitting them to
- 13:25Speaker 1: like track where they are catching cheeters.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah, facts, why not? I saw a guy talking to
- 13:31Speaker 2: how I've seen a guy do that.
- 13:32Speaker 1: It was a video on TikTok and a guy caught
- 13:35Speaker 1: his wife cheating right of like thirty years of marriage.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Okay, same thing. He puts an apple tag in her
- 13:41Speaker 2: car and.
- 13:42Speaker 1: He flew his drone real high and it a camera
- 13:47Speaker 1: and he's like, watches her go to a car park
- 13:50Speaker 1: and hop into this dude's car and they fuck off
- 13:53Speaker 1: and he's losing his mind. He's just flying, Like, imagine
- 13:56Speaker 1: how fucking shit you'd feel. You're like, I'm sitting here
- 13:58Speaker 1: flying a drone watching.
- 14:00Speaker 2: If it comes to that point, you've got to think
- 14:03Speaker 2: to yourself, like before you plan, like is this too
- 14:06Speaker 2: much that I'm doing this? Like, surely the relationships over.
- 14:09Speaker 2: If I've got to this extent to catch my wife
- 14:12Speaker 2: or husband.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Surely I can just tell her that I'm feeling like
- 14:14Speaker 1: I don't trust you right now, Like I've bought a
- 14:16Speaker 1: fucking two thousand dollars drone, a fifty dollars air tag,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and I'm fucking stalking you to make sure.
- 14:21Speaker 2: You're not cheating. I'm gonna say I appreciate how petty
- 14:23Speaker 2: some people can be because I'm not that petty, and
- 14:26Speaker 2: it's good to see it's entertaining. Oh yeah, okay, what
- 14:30Speaker 2: to get your man for Christmas?
- 14:34Speaker 1: Matching ten liter water bottles because that's how much water
- 14:36Speaker 1: he expects you to drink.
- 14:39Speaker 2: See if both have one like that big, like the massive,
- 14:44Speaker 2: it's like, I don't even know how many leaders it is.
- 14:46Speaker 2: It's got to be five or ten. Have you ever
- 14:47Speaker 2: seen like those people at the gym. Yeah, I've never
- 14:50Speaker 2: understood that.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I think it's like, so pick me, Yeah, the gym
- 14:54Speaker 1: that's carrying around carrying around a five liter fucking water
- 14:57Speaker 1: bottle and it's and also it's like quite obviously b
- 15:01Speaker 1: C double as what what's it called or eas or
- 15:03Speaker 1: whatever it is, because it's like and it's like a
- 15:05Speaker 1: clear water bottle and it's like orange water.
- 15:08Speaker 2: And you're like, fuck, just there's no way you're drinking
- 15:10Speaker 2: that like five liter bottle or ten liter bottle of
- 15:13Speaker 2: water in there. I know, it's like a flex he's
- 15:16Speaker 2: like they've watched two months Sam Sluke, I know, yeah,
- 15:18Speaker 2: he's tearing around that big milk. Yeah, like just fucking Also,
- 15:21Speaker 2: just if you're gonna do it, just buy a big
- 15:24Speaker 2: ass water bottle because you're gonna get so much more
- 15:25Speaker 2: use would be like the biggest power player that also
- 15:29Speaker 2: wouldn't work is what's it called you? So that's brand's
- 15:33Speaker 2: chain of MENA acids BC double as, Yeah, which is
- 15:35Speaker 2: good for you for hydration. But in those plastic bottles,
- 15:38Speaker 2: if you re use them, there's b c as in them,
- 15:41Speaker 2: which is like plastic residue. It's not good for you.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yeah, those guys and be like, hey, man, man's playing
- 15:49Speaker 1: with a Look.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I know they're BC double as, but have you heard
- 15:52Speaker 2: a b c as.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that kind of mitigates BP A B p Appy.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I thought of that because people would have been like
- 15:59Speaker 2: the idiots. I was thinking, well, we'll get in confused
- 16:02Speaker 2: with the fucking Timothy letters going about it. That is
- 16:05Speaker 2: a good president to be fair. Actually, yeah, things to
- 16:07Speaker 2: get your man for Christmas might not all good. One
- 16:10Speaker 2: of those cool rugs to go in his room of
- 16:12Speaker 2: like some of his favorite stuff. That is a good
- 16:14Speaker 2: fucking presence.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I would like to point out a rug under
- 16:18Speaker 1: a bed completes not just a bedroom, but a lounge
- 16:21Speaker 1: room underneath the dining table. We put a rug in
- 16:24Speaker 1: our kitchen. It just makes it look so much more homie.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, one hundred percent. And he can get some cool
- 16:28Speaker 2: like even if your boyfriend doesn't have any taste, you
- 16:30Speaker 2: can get him like some GTA rugs or something like that.
- 16:32Speaker 1: True, he might like that.
- 16:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:34Speaker 1: What I would like to point out actually is every
- 16:36Speaker 1: dude on this planet loves a little, a little novelty item,
- 16:40Speaker 1: right like I I'm guilty of it, Like when I
- 16:43Speaker 1: see it, you know, you know, you know Ages ago,
- 16:46Speaker 1: I went to buy one of those things for your
- 16:48Speaker 1: desk that's like covers your full desk and it's a
- 16:50Speaker 1: mouse pad, right yeah. And I was there and I
- 16:53Speaker 1: was looking at black ones and then I saw in
- 16:56Speaker 1: the corner where I Rick and Marty one and I
- 16:58Speaker 1: was like, mate, what the fuck? I was like, I
- 16:59Speaker 1: want that one now. And so I got it and
- 17:02Speaker 1: I used it for ages. But to be completely honest,
- 17:04Speaker 1: it looks pretty taggy.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So I got rid of it. That's the same concept.
- 17:10Speaker 2: My girlfriend was asking me what I want for Christmas.
- 17:12Speaker 2: And I was at JB high Fire the other day
- 17:14Speaker 2: and I saw.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Winni the Pooh light and I got it. I didn't
- 17:18Speaker 1: get it, but I said it to him. I'm like,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I want these for Christmas?
- 17:20Speaker 2: That's so fun. Yeah, but then like you'll have it
- 17:22Speaker 2: for this is actually kind of late. I actually grow
- 17:26Speaker 2: up like that.
- 17:30Speaker 1: But fuck, a rug is actually a good one.
- 17:33Speaker 2: What to get your man for Christmas?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Now, he doesn't even have to be into this, all right,
- 17:39Speaker 1: he doesn't even ever have to use it. This can
- 17:41Speaker 1: be something that he's going to put in his drawer
- 17:43Speaker 1: and forget about, and then every time he looks at it,
- 17:45Speaker 1: he's going to be like.
- 17:45Speaker 2: You know what, it's cool that I own that A
- 17:47Speaker 2: utility knife.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Yes, I'm disagreeing every want that got like a two
- 17:53Speaker 1: hundred dollars utility knife?
- 17:54Speaker 2: Bro, so weird? Shut up your and now you do that? Well,
- 18:00Speaker 2: what's on it?
- 18:01Speaker 1: Everything?
- 18:02Speaker 2: So a knife, like a bottle like the bottle of
- 18:04Speaker 2: the ply dream, a screwdriver.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Ply like no, no, no, tweezers, some of them have.
- 18:10Speaker 2: A tooth pick. I reckon that is the biggest way.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Wait wait wait, wait, okay, listen. You'll open it and
- 18:17Speaker 1: you'll be like, oh that thanks cool. It'll be nice
- 18:19Speaker 1: and you'll think it's late, But it's going to go
- 18:22Speaker 1: on your draw because you're not going to get rid
- 18:23Speaker 1: of a present that your girlfriend got you.
- 18:24Speaker 2: You might have to, and then I get rid of
- 18:26Speaker 2: cards after Patreon last week plug I get rid of
- 18:29Speaker 2: cards present we found Jake's inside on Patreon last week.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So you've got the utility knife, right, and then you're
- 18:36Speaker 1: going to forget about it, and then you're going to
- 18:38Speaker 1: be in this random situation where you need a pair
- 18:42Speaker 1: of pliers that I was have a wire cutter on them, okay.
- 18:44Speaker 2: And then you're going to be like, wait a second,
- 18:48Speaker 2: I've got that. I'll tell you what's actually gonna happen. Well,
- 18:50Speaker 2: that exact situation is going to arise, but you're not
- 18:54Speaker 2: going to be You're not going to remember, I'm not
- 18:55Speaker 2: going to forget about it. No, you're not going to
- 18:57Speaker 2: be at home. So you're gonna be like, this is
- 18:59Speaker 2: going to be sick. If I had utility knife with
- 19:00Speaker 2: wye cutters on it, that's in my bedside table at home. Shame,
- 19:03Speaker 2: I'm camping and credit end right now. That's what happened.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And I was also saying, because it's your girlfriend, fair enough,
- 19:11Speaker 2: but it's also got to be the beestic Like imagine
- 19:14Speaker 2: you're seeing a girl for the first time and like,
- 19:16Speaker 2: I don't know, you need to do something, build a
- 19:17Speaker 2: bed frame or something. Let me just go get a
- 19:19Speaker 2: screwed over and then you pull out your utility knife
- 19:21Speaker 2: and it talked on to your belt. That's a fucking eck.
- 19:26Speaker 1: My stepdad up until phones with like touch screens came out,
- 19:30Speaker 1: my stepdad had a flip phone and it would go
- 19:33Speaker 1: into a holster on his belt. To be fair, I
- 19:35Speaker 1: could see you rocking like a little like landing on
- 19:38Speaker 1: your iPhone that connects to your belt or something, if iPhones.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Weren't so heavy, you know, I actually know, I actually
- 19:43Speaker 2: don't disagree with that.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't mind having I've got like a carabina
- 19:47Speaker 1: from my keys, and sometimes I put it on a
- 19:49Speaker 1: loop of like a belt loop.
- 19:51Speaker 2: That kind of looks cool though. Yeah, I'll give you that.
- 19:53Speaker 2: It's kind of cool. But I've got two left, okay
- 19:56Speaker 2: things get your man for Christmas. You're learna like this one? Yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 2: kind of you said it before, kind of Birkenstock loafers,
- 20:03Speaker 2: Oh facts hundred is actually I need new ones, Beth,
- 20:08Speaker 2: if you're listening, I don't even need they don't even
- 20:11Speaker 2: need to be Birthstock brand. I see some new loafers.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I think also, no, no, no, so mules. They call mual mules. Yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 2: I think I call mules. Yeah, it's like a Boston mule.
- 20:18Speaker 2: That's that's a shoe. So I was thinking a lot
- 20:20Speaker 2: of men might think, no, I don't want them. I
- 20:22Speaker 2: don't want the Jesus sandal. But when they get them,
- 20:25Speaker 2: they'll be like, oh, thank you very much. Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I actually hate people that say like, like I hate
- 20:30Speaker 1: when I'm wearing them and someone's like, oh, what are
- 20:33Speaker 1: those shoes? And I'm just thinking, like, there's no way
- 20:37Speaker 1: you're looking at these thinking they look uncomfortable.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they are the.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Best thing that's ever been created. Great, They're fucking the best.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I hate people that are like I would never wear them.
- 20:47Speaker 1: You'd wear them if you had them, And.
- 20:48Speaker 2: If they don't like them crocs, so I can't go wrong. Actually, yeah, crossing,
- 20:52Speaker 2: I need just like a classic pair of crocs. You
- 20:54Speaker 2: have we got gifted something, No, but they're like weird
- 20:57Speaker 2: you wear them? They have like a fucking built in sock.
- 20:59Speaker 1: And what to get your man for Christmas? Book him
- 21:07Speaker 1: in for a therapy session, because we all know he
- 21:09Speaker 1: needs money. He wouldn't go fu. To be fair, they're expensive.
- 21:15Speaker 1: That's one of the only reasons I haven't gone.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Actually you couldn't give that as a present. I think
- 21:20Speaker 2: it's and my last one things to get your man
- 21:24Speaker 2: for Christmas, or fuck your man. You might want this
- 21:29Speaker 2: one yourself. A relatables Blues and Greens t shirt drop
- 21:34Speaker 2: the nude drop. Me and Jake are wearing them right now. Jake,
- 21:38Speaker 2: do you want to get up stand and do a
- 21:39Speaker 2: little panner of what it is? So this has been
- 21:42Speaker 2: in the works for a while. We've teed up with
- 21:44Speaker 2: one of our friends, Harriet. Blues and Greens once again.
- 21:47Speaker 2: And there's a flower on the side for any audio listeners,
- 21:49Speaker 2: and on the back it says we're all just here.
- 21:55Speaker 2: We're all just here for the first time, so give
- 21:57Speaker 2: yourself a break. Blues and Greens and related bulls.
- 22:00Speaker 1: One white one, one blue one we'll have I'm wearing
- 22:02Speaker 1: the blue. I'll do a little panna by the time
- 22:04Speaker 1: this comes out of web photos and stuff that we
- 22:06Speaker 1: can have on the screen to give you a real
- 22:07Speaker 1: good look because we're a bit too tall for the cameras.
- 22:11Speaker 1: But this is, honestly, this is the best. I think
- 22:13Speaker 1: it's the cost thing we've ever done, coolest drop we've
- 22:16Speaker 1: ever done. The quality is insane. The shirt looks good
- 22:19Speaker 1: with jeans, as a pump cover or just with like
- 22:22Speaker 1: normal shorts. Yeah, I would recommend like it would look
- 22:25Speaker 1: really good as to go on like hooker walks.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we used to promote all the time, and the
- 22:31Speaker 2: back is so esthetic and it just pops off the shirt.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And honestly, I know I'm obviously biased because we design them,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but it also has a good meeting behind it because
- 22:39Speaker 2: we've also been saying on the pod for a long time,
- 22:41Speaker 2: like we're always here for the first time, like, way
- 22:43Speaker 2: so hard on yourself, give yourself a break.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like we just keep I just for
- 22:46Speaker 1: some reason. I felt we've mentioned it so many times,
- 22:48Speaker 1: which is really relatable.
- 22:49Speaker 2: So either get your man that for Christmas because he
- 22:51Speaker 2: has terrible tastes and you gotta a dress him, or
- 22:54Speaker 2: get it for yourself. Yeah, or put it on your
- 22:56Speaker 2: Christmas Listice that's right up next. Jake is a deep chat.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I feel like at this time of the year, it's
- 23:11Speaker 2: very easy to get sort of lost in your own world,
- 23:15Speaker 2: and I don't know, I feel like now we have
- 23:19Speaker 2: but we could always connect on a more deeper level.
- 23:22Speaker 2: It's like a question for you. I might ask it
- 23:25Speaker 2: and then I can go first, so you have time
- 23:26Speaker 2: to digest the question, or if something immediately comes to mind,
- 23:29Speaker 2: you answer. But I wanted to ask you, what's the
- 23:32Speaker 2: most challenging thing you're dealing with in your life right now?
- 23:39Speaker 2: Good question, ah, because I feel like we're going into December,
- 23:46Speaker 2: you got family stuff going on, We've got a lot
- 23:48Speaker 2: of work stuff going on. Life's just chaotic and you're
- 23:50Speaker 2: juggling so many things.
- 23:52Speaker 1: And I wanted to know if you've had anything that's
- 23:55Speaker 1: the most challenged.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I will, like on a.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Surface level, one, I want to say keeping motivated to train.
- 24:08Speaker 1: That would be like something that I kind of feel
- 24:11Speaker 1: like I'm at a constant battle with. Like I didn't
- 24:14Speaker 1: want to say anything like like the I just let's say,
- 24:22Speaker 1: like back in when I was like peak training, like
- 24:26Speaker 1: one hundred percent of sessions, I was like keen to
- 24:28Speaker 1: go to and enjoyed. I think it's like down, I
- 24:32Speaker 1: feel like it's like eighty percent of sessions. I'm kind
- 24:34Speaker 1: of like, fuck, I like am going because I'm making
- 24:37Speaker 1: myself go, Like I definitely am not going as much.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I still reckon. I would work out four times a week,
- 24:44Speaker 1: which is still good, which is still really good. Like,
- 24:46Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, I think that's great, but I
- 24:47Speaker 1: just like I just remember it. I used to fucking
- 24:50Speaker 1: love it, and I just don't love it as much.
- 24:52Speaker 1: And I think that maybe you need another goal. I
- 24:55Speaker 1: don't know, it's so funny.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Like maybe you need a bulg or shred or something
- 24:59Speaker 2: because you just like going to maintain at the moment
- 25:01Speaker 2: pretty much. Yeah, Like I don't track my food. I don't. Yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 2: But and then I think another big one for me is.
- 25:11Speaker 1: This mental battle in my head right of like I
- 25:16Speaker 1: wouldn't say pressure, but I think just like really just
- 25:25Speaker 1: being in It's like I feel like my relationship with
- 25:27Speaker 1: Beth is like quite healthy, and but like with that
- 25:32Speaker 1: obviously comes like arguments and like uncomfortable times. And she's
- 25:37Speaker 1: like the first person to like, actually, as I was
- 25:41Speaker 1: like talking about last week, how it's like I have
- 25:43Speaker 1: this thing where like I've ignored my own emotions for
- 25:46Speaker 1: a very long time, like a lot of guys and
- 25:47Speaker 1: a lot of everyone does. But she's the first person
- 25:50Speaker 1: to like really be like aware of it and just
- 25:55Speaker 1: like encourage me to bring things up when things are
- 25:58Speaker 1: an issue. And like I still am like scared to
- 26:02Speaker 1: do it, and my biggest, biggest challenge is to just
- 26:07Speaker 1: say how I feel like, because like Beth is allowed
- 26:09Speaker 1: to make me feel like shit if she says something,
- 26:12Speaker 1: you know, she's a human, or like you're allowed to
- 26:14Speaker 1: make me feel like shit if you say something because
- 26:15Speaker 1: you're a human, Joanna, anyone. But to me, it's so
- 26:20Speaker 1: so easy.
- 26:22Speaker 2: The easiest thing in the world. I cannot stress this enough.
- 26:24Speaker 2: The absolute easiest.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Thing in the world for me is to shrug something off,
- 26:29Speaker 1: and I just want to like change it a little bit,
- 26:31Speaker 1: like not heaves.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I'm not unhappy. Want to practice. Now, what's the last
- 26:35Speaker 2: thing someone done that maybe didn't not necessarily have to
- 26:39Speaker 2: piss you off, but you shrugged it off and you
- 26:42Speaker 2: could have brought it up, if anything comes to mind,
- 26:47Speaker 2: what's like the first thing it didn't actually happen to me.
- 26:52Speaker 2: It was like, so, Joanna is having.
- 26:59Speaker 1: She got friends here from Canada, and for like quite
- 27:04Speaker 1: a few months, obviously she's known this is happening. And
- 27:06Speaker 1: my dad he was offering like constantly to Joanna that
- 27:11Speaker 1: they could stay at the spare room.
- 27:14Speaker 2: At their house.
- 27:15Speaker 1: And then just before they got here, my parents there
- 27:19Speaker 1: they went, they went away. They're still away, and they
- 27:24Speaker 1: were talking about it became like an issue. Like my
- 27:27Speaker 1: stepmom wasn't all that keen on it because they have
- 27:29Speaker 1: someone there looking after their animals, and I just like
- 27:33Speaker 1: couldn't figure out why it was an issue, Like you're
- 27:36Speaker 1: paying someone to look after your animals, so like you
- 27:40Speaker 1: should be able to say to them like, oh, look,
- 27:42Speaker 1: also our daughter is going to stay here with two
- 27:44Speaker 1: of her friends, you know, like our house, or.
- 27:47Speaker 2: You could even say like you don't have to pay anymore,
- 27:49Speaker 2: they're gonna look after him. Yeah.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I was just like kind of confused about it all.
- 27:52Speaker 1: And I remember sitting there just big and like I
- 27:55Speaker 1: just like completely ignored the situation, and I was just
- 27:58Speaker 1: like at dinner and I was just like, I was like,
- 28:00Speaker 1: it was weird. It was like I noticed my dad
- 28:03Speaker 1: also ignoring the situation. Yeah, like dad was offering it
- 28:06Speaker 1: and my stepmom was not that keen on it. So
- 28:08Speaker 1: Joanna was stuck in this weird place. And so then
- 28:11Speaker 1: I was like, look, Joanna, like I'll give up my room,
- 28:14Speaker 1: don't stress or stay at bets and just like make
- 28:17Speaker 1: the situation easier for Joanna. But I think in the
- 28:19Speaker 1: moment I think in the future, I just want to
- 28:21Speaker 1: be not scared to be like Dad's offering, like can you,
- 28:25Speaker 1: like Dad and Kate Stepmom, can you guys work it
- 28:28Speaker 1: out between yourselves before like Dad's offering, and then Joanna
- 28:31Speaker 1: feels like she can't actually do it, so she has
- 28:32Speaker 1: to figure out something else. I think that was a
- 28:34Speaker 1: time where I kind of wish I could have been
- 28:36Speaker 1: like just stepped in and been like.
- 28:37Speaker 2: This is really weird. But and I know you don't care,
- 28:41Speaker 2: but you're also put out because you don't have your room.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah, like it doesn't stuff like that doesn't really worry me.
- 28:46Speaker 1: But yeah, now I like have given my room, which
- 28:53Speaker 1: just like yeah, I don't know, like I really don't
- 28:55Speaker 1: care about something like that. But and the funny another
- 28:57Speaker 1: funny thing is is like, ah, because Beth lives in
- 29:01Speaker 1: Sydney an hour and a half away, then we're here
- 29:07Speaker 1: recording today, right, and then we can't record all episodes,
- 29:11Speaker 1: like when we because he's going away to run his race.
- 29:15Speaker 1: We can't record all the episodes on one day because
- 29:17Speaker 1: like the quality of the episodes just go downhill as
- 29:19Speaker 1: we get tired, because like it becomes a bit taxing,
- 29:21Speaker 1: like trying to be switched on like one hundred and
- 29:23Speaker 1: ten percent for fucking.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Like four hours.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah, And so we spread it out over two days
- 29:27Speaker 1: because like we just want to keep the quality good,
- 29:30Speaker 1: and so we're recording tomorrow as well. So I need
- 29:32Speaker 1: to stay here tonight, and so I'm just going to
- 29:34Speaker 1: sleep on the lounge because like Johanna's friend and his
- 29:37Speaker 1: boyfriend are here, and I want them to have at
- 29:39Speaker 1: least a queen, but I don't want them to be
- 29:41Speaker 1: sleeping on a lounge together. And so I'm just gonna
- 29:43Speaker 1: sleep at Lannes, like and it's like I don't care.
- 29:46Speaker 1: But in that situation a few days ago, which I
- 29:47Speaker 1: kind of was just like just.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Fucking let him stay here. Surely you can go staate
- 29:51Speaker 2: your parents out.
- 29:52Speaker 1: But I mean, the thing was is like it was,
- 29:55Speaker 1: it was this whole thing about I don't know.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Like it. It was just funky, Like I just feel
- 30:00Speaker 2: like it was a weird vibe, weird dynamic, like I could.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Go to anywhere, I could fucking I could go, say,
- 30:06Speaker 1: I got aunties and uncles a stream Auntie's uncles that
- 30:09Speaker 1: live fucking four minutes down the road. But also it's
- 30:11Speaker 1: just like my lounges comfy. I prefer to just be here,
- 30:14Speaker 1: especially because I have actually have Henry right now as well.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I suppose he's an idea. Obviously, don't have to take
- 30:18Speaker 2: it because it's already happened. The situations arise, and you
- 30:21Speaker 2: said you want to work on voicing your opinion when
- 30:23Speaker 2: something's made you maybe upset or made some emotions that
- 30:27Speaker 2: you didn't like. Yeah, you could say next dinner when
- 30:30Speaker 2: this is all over, like hey, Kate and Dad, like
- 30:33Speaker 2: you know how you did that didn't really make me
- 30:35Speaker 2: feel very good. I just will feel bad for Joanna. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 2: you should say that. I was like, this is so odd,
- 30:40Speaker 2: and he's put you out.
- 30:41Speaker 1: It's put you and and Joannah out also, right, because
- 30:43Speaker 1: so like Joanna fully up until that moment, just like
- 30:46Speaker 1: was fully under the impression is the right word that
- 30:50Speaker 1: it was fully fine. Right, And so then as you
- 30:53Speaker 1: guys have just thought we were dropping shirts, as we
- 30:55Speaker 1: just said. And so Harry from Blues and Greens he's
- 30:59Speaker 1: coming here again to stay here. And now like Harry
- 31:04Speaker 1: will when he's here and I'm here, he'll sleep on
- 31:06Speaker 1: our lange because he like you know, free accommodation. He
- 31:08Speaker 1: doesn't care like that's how it was planned, but Johanna's
- 31:11Speaker 1: friend and his boyfriend will still be here. And the
- 31:14Speaker 1: reason that I invited Harry to stay here because I
- 31:16Speaker 1: was under the impression that actually Joanna and her friends
- 31:19Speaker 1: were going to be staying at my parents' house. So
- 31:20Speaker 1: then she actually said Harry can have my bed happy
- 31:22Speaker 1: days and I was like, oh sick. And so now
- 31:25Speaker 1: I feel like you need to text me aud and
- 31:26Speaker 1: be like, oh, look, I know it didn't really work
- 31:27Speaker 1: out for these days, but when you're home, is it
- 31:29Speaker 1: sweet if they stay with you?
- 31:30Speaker 2: I feel like we need to ask again.
- 31:31Speaker 1: And it was just it was just weird, Like I
- 31:33Speaker 1: think it's a good thing to need to ask, obviously
- 31:35Speaker 1: you don't want to assume and just like be bratty
- 31:37Speaker 1: and be entitled. But it was just so funny, like
- 31:40Speaker 1: one of my parents is offering, the other ones kind
- 31:42Speaker 1: of not happy about it, and I was just like
- 31:44Speaker 1: I felt like speaking up and being like, you too,
- 31:46Speaker 1: need to get your stories straight before you fucking have
- 31:47Speaker 1: one of you offering.
- 31:49Speaker 2: That also brings up like a good problem. The more
- 31:51Speaker 2: we're developing as adults, you see things with your parents
- 31:55Speaker 2: that have obviously in a happy relationship and stuff. Yeah, no,
- 31:59Speaker 2: and like nothing against Yeah, just like with my parents
- 32:02Speaker 2: where they do things, we're like, guys, like this, isn't
- 32:04Speaker 2: that like that efficient? Yeah? Yeah, like the way you're communicating,
- 32:08Speaker 2: like you're saying different things. Yeah, it's weird. It's funny
- 32:11Speaker 2: seeing your parents like do that. The more you're developing
- 32:13Speaker 2: as an adult and saying like this, guys, I know,
- 32:16Speaker 2: it was so weird. Like and also it was kind
- 32:18Speaker 2: of like I wanted one of them to either just
- 32:21Speaker 2: be like, okay, look, no, let's not do it. So
- 32:23Speaker 2: then they had an answer. But the only reason we.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Got an answer is because I was like talking to
- 32:28Speaker 1: Jmanna and I was like, oh, look, well here it's
- 32:30Speaker 1: actually the deal is is it works out good because
- 32:33Speaker 1: Oddie and I are recording early, so I can actually
- 32:35Speaker 1: just go stay at Beth's and look after Henry and
- 32:37Speaker 1: work from there. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, so like, let's.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Just do that.
- 32:42Speaker 1: And so it was like, look, it's a solution and
- 32:44Speaker 1: it's working fine, but I just really there's moments where
- 32:48Speaker 1: I wish I step up.
- 32:49Speaker 2: It's also you know how you said best the first
- 32:52Speaker 2: partner who said like brought up that you need a
- 32:55Speaker 2: voice like when you're unhappy or something like that. Yeah,
- 32:58Speaker 2: I think this is that's really healthy because this might
- 33:01Speaker 2: be a bit deep. But looking at your past partners,
- 33:04Speaker 2: and I've seen it before, like your best trader is
- 33:06Speaker 2: you'll do anything for anybody, even at the expense of yourself. Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 2: and I do feel like some of your previous partners
- 33:13Speaker 2: have like taken advantage of that attribute of you. Definitely. Yeah,
- 33:18Speaker 2: so I think.
- 33:18Speaker 1: And also I was sorry to interrupt, I would like
- 33:20Speaker 1: to point out like it's I don't think it's their fault.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I think I think they should know what they're doing.
- 33:26Speaker 1: But at the same time, it's like I do say
- 33:28Speaker 1: yes to everything and make everything is as in like,
- 33:30Speaker 1: oh no, that's easy, I'll do it's fine, don't worry
- 33:32Speaker 1: about don't worry about it, And I really reassure them
- 33:34Speaker 1: like don't worry about I don't care at all. Where
- 33:36Speaker 1: I'm kind of like next time, I'd like you to
- 33:37Speaker 1: think about it.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Yeah, But honestly, that's such a like healthy trait that
- 33:42Speaker 2: best done subconsciously has said like, hey, no, like voice
- 33:44Speaker 2: when you're on a happy jake, you don't have to
- 33:46Speaker 2: fucking be this perfect guy. That sorts out everything. No,
- 33:49Speaker 2: you don't have to be the resolution everything, like you
- 33:50Speaker 2: can say, whereas like other people in the past have
- 33:52Speaker 2: been like, oh fuck it, I'm just gonna He's gonna
- 33:54Speaker 2: do it easy.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Yeah, like Jake will do it. He'll pick me up
- 33:57Speaker 2: before I am ja with it. Oh, well that you
- 34:01Speaker 2: actually had a really good answer. See, I've got to
- 34:02Speaker 2: know what's going on in your head right now.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, a lot a little mental have you got
- 34:07Speaker 1: have you got a chow?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, I think I do as well. I saw
- 34:10Speaker 2: this question I was looking for like inspiration I saw
- 34:12Speaker 2: and I wasought, well, that's a really good question. So
- 34:14Speaker 2: the question, just to reiterate, was what's the most challenging
- 34:17Speaker 2: thing you're dealing with in your life right now? And
- 34:20Speaker 2: I guess my biggest challenge is sort of I sort
- 34:24Speaker 2: of mentioned at the start, is being overwhelmed. It's like
- 34:28Speaker 2: everything going on at this time of year is good,
- 34:31Speaker 2: Like the relatables were really really busy, and like we're
- 34:35Speaker 2: my relationship is also really good, and we're planning all
- 34:38Speaker 2: these things and I'm doing all these things. Maybe I'm
- 34:39Speaker 2: a little bit overwhelmed because about to run as well
- 34:41Speaker 2: and I've been training, and I've been a bit sick
- 34:42Speaker 2: and run down. There's just a lot on. But the
- 34:44Speaker 2: main thing I'm like overwhelmed with talking podcasting us is
- 34:50Speaker 2: I guess like I feel like this is relatable for
- 34:53Speaker 2: anyone who's like in a position it was like we
- 34:56Speaker 2: have so much to do. I feel like people look
- 34:59Speaker 2: at us and think like we've made it, right, But
- 35:01Speaker 2: I feel like we're also at like the prefaces of
- 35:03Speaker 2: like we've only just made it. Here's the analogy, right,
- 35:08Speaker 2: say we're climbing Mount Everest. Yeah, yeah, I feel like
- 35:10Speaker 2: we've made it to base camp. Yeah, yeah, we've We've
- 35:14Speaker 2: made it to base camp. And then now we're struggling. Yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 2: and now we got to fucking do the rest of it.
- 35:20Speaker 2: We got to fuck it. I don't know what the
- 35:21Speaker 2: other peaks are called campground camp, and like maybe and
- 35:26Speaker 2: then at base camp, like everyone else like needs oxygen
- 35:30Speaker 2: and they've left, so like it's just you and me,
- 35:33Speaker 2: and now we've have to we have to find like
- 35:35Speaker 2: a sherpa or like we have to find we have
- 35:38Speaker 2: to find like a local Tibetan, or we pay someone
- 35:42Speaker 2: a lot of money to fucking take us the rest
- 35:43Speaker 2: of the way, and like that's where we're at the moment,
- 35:46Speaker 2: and it's like a mental battle of like figuring figuring
- 35:49Speaker 2: out our journey through this business of the podcast, which
- 35:54Speaker 2: I do enjoy doing and figuring it all out and
- 35:57Speaker 2: I know we'll figure it out because we have that
- 35:59Speaker 2: mindset do it, but it's also just overwhelming all these
- 36:02Speaker 2: different pieces we have to put together and sort out.
- 36:05Speaker 2: And it's a must be a nice.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Situation for sure, definitely, yeah, But it's also just like
- 36:11Speaker 1: funks like where do I start? I feel like that's
- 36:13Speaker 1: the relatable thing. You've got to Where do you start?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Where do you start? And like what do I do?
- 36:16Speaker 2: I can put my time here, I can put my
- 36:18Speaker 2: time here, and like what do I do? That makes
- 36:20Speaker 2: the most sense. And it's also like I don't know
- 36:21Speaker 2: where to start. No, that's a funny thing.
- 36:23Speaker 1: And I feel like we've given advice in the past
- 36:27Speaker 1: where maybe someone's asked a similar question and where like
- 36:30Speaker 1: and it's not bad advice, but it's kind of like
- 36:32Speaker 1: you know, you know, you can't see super far ahead
- 36:35Speaker 1: of you, like if it was dark, you wouldn't be
- 36:36Speaker 1: able to see so far ahead of you, Like.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Like we're in the dark.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Everyone's in the dark in life, and so like, if
- 36:42Speaker 1: you can see the next step, that's all you gotta take. Yeah,
- 36:45Speaker 1: And so like I will say, it's easier said than done.
- 36:48Speaker 1: But at the same time, it's like if you can
- 36:49Speaker 1: keep in the back of your head that it's like
- 36:51Speaker 1: what's my next step? Like I don't need to think
- 36:53Speaker 1: ten steps ahead, what's my next I think that might
- 36:55Speaker 1: be my pro singular step.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because I'm thinking so far ahead, like what's the
- 36:58Speaker 2: best for our future? Where was like in reality I've
- 37:01Speaker 2: seen to do one thing at a time.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I think where my head's at is that
- 37:06Speaker 1: I want I think we have a good product. Like
- 37:10Speaker 1: if you think about it, the podcast that you're listening
- 37:11Speaker 1: to right now, that everyone's listening to right now, is
- 37:14Speaker 1: it's considered like our product, right even though it's free,
- 37:17Speaker 1: but it is our product.
- 37:19Speaker 2: And I think I just want to where my head's
- 37:22Speaker 2: at is I really want to get this product like.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Fucking I don't know, just perfect and then worry about
- 37:32Speaker 1: everything else after that, which is I don't know if
- 37:36Speaker 1: that's right thing or not, but I don't know.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I think just like do you reckon it's ever going
- 37:41Speaker 2: to be perfect there.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Probably not if you think about it, like, to be
- 37:44Speaker 1: honest with you, probably not. But another thing I think
- 37:47Speaker 1: about is like, you know, how much more do we want?
- 37:53Speaker 1: You know, everyone wants more money, right, Like more money
- 37:55Speaker 1: would be fucking fantastic, beautiful, be.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Great, but like how much more do you want? In
- 38:03Speaker 2: sense in the terms of like.
- 38:06Speaker 1: If you could be offered Maybe I don't know if
- 38:09Speaker 1: it's a good question, but let's say like a million
- 38:11Speaker 1: dollars a year to do exactly what you're doing right now,
- 38:13Speaker 1: same workload, same everything, million dollars a year, Like fuck,
- 38:17Speaker 1: I see some money. Hectic, but it's like oh, or
- 38:20Speaker 1: you know, you could have like five million dollars a year,
- 38:23Speaker 1: but it's like you know, you are grinding, you struggle
- 38:29Speaker 1: to find the time, your analogy like yeah, so yeah,
- 38:33Speaker 1: And I think it's like how.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Much more what do we actually want?
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's a question that I think it's
- 38:40Speaker 1: a good question.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like it's also like broad spectrum for
- 38:43Speaker 2: everyone listening is like the grass is always greener. Fuck yes,
- 38:47Speaker 2: Like we're in a great position and like we could
- 38:48Speaker 2: be here. It's like same at work, like I could
- 38:50Speaker 2: be fucking a manager I could be getting more clients.
- 38:54Speaker 2: That could be fucking doing this. I could be doing that.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Here's some of the monies your mind, because I was
- 38:59Speaker 1: listening to Gigs the other day and in terms of podcasting,
- 39:02Speaker 1: goes like, I'm sure they could be more successful, but
- 39:05Speaker 1: they really are about as successful as it gets in
- 39:08Speaker 1: terms of fan base, the amount of money they make,
- 39:12Speaker 1: the like quality of the pot like all that shit.
- 39:14Speaker 1: They're about as good as it gets. And I listened
- 39:18Speaker 1: to it like I'm a fan of that podcast. I
- 39:19Speaker 1: listened to them and James, one of the hosts. I
- 39:23Speaker 1: don't know if I was listening to this on Patreon
- 39:25Speaker 1: or on their main episode, but he was talking about
- 39:29Speaker 1: how he said back in that he was like back
- 39:31Speaker 1: in the day, he's like kind of reminiscing, and he
- 39:32Speaker 1: was like, we used to just like not take anything
- 39:35Speaker 1: so serious, like because life actually isn't that serious, and
- 39:39Speaker 1: he's like, it's funny. The more successful we've gotten, the
- 39:43Speaker 1: more serious I feel like I take it, and it's
- 39:46Speaker 1: kind of like, why true?
- 39:49Speaker 2: You know?
- 39:49Speaker 1: He was like, we had not that we don't have
- 39:52Speaker 1: fun now, but we had so much fun when there
- 39:55Speaker 1: was nothing on the line. And the reason we got
- 39:59Speaker 1: the fan base, and the the reason that we got
- 40:00Speaker 1: to where we are is because we were having so
- 40:02Speaker 1: much fun when there was nothing on the line where
- 40:05Speaker 1: and it's like, why.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Did we stop that?
- 40:07Speaker 1: I do like that a lot, yeah, And I was
- 40:09Speaker 1: kind of like, well that makes sense, like you know,
- 40:11Speaker 1: because we think like we want what they have. But
- 40:14Speaker 1: at the same time, he's thinking like because we met
- 40:16Speaker 1: them luckily, we were super lucky to meet him. You
- 40:18Speaker 1: never know, like they might have seen if they were
- 40:22Speaker 1: to be like, oh, maybe after that they were like, oh,
- 40:24Speaker 1: do you remember when we were at their stage, Like they've
- 40:26Speaker 1: got some fun times ahead of them, you know what
- 40:28Speaker 1: I mean, Whereas back and they're probably thinking, like when
- 40:30Speaker 1: we were at that stage, we were stressing.
- 40:32Speaker 2: I hope they're not stressing. I hope they're having a
- 40:33Speaker 2: good time. Like suppose it's like the cliche setting, like
- 40:36Speaker 2: it's not about the end goal, it's about the journey. Yeah,
- 40:39Speaker 2: And like I'm looking at that end.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Goal and it just like I think it goes I
- 40:42Speaker 1: feel like it goes with any job, with any school,
- 40:46Speaker 1: with anything. Like I don't know, if you're at UNI
- 40:48Speaker 1: and you see someone in their fourth and last year
- 40:49Speaker 1: and you're in your first year and you're like, fuck,
- 40:51Speaker 1: they're lucky.
- 40:52Speaker 2: They look back at you and probably think like.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Wow, I wish I was as bright eyed a there
- 40:56Speaker 1: as them, Like I'm fucking devo now that What do
- 40:58Speaker 1: I do now that I'm done Uni?
- 41:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and looking back at our journey, like it's definitely
- 41:03Speaker 2: been so much fun, and like I feel like, also,
- 41:07Speaker 2: this last maybe six to nine months is the first
- 41:12Speaker 2: time we've had so much what do you call it
- 41:16Speaker 2: when other people's opinions come into it, equation like advice opinions,
- 41:22Speaker 2: advice opinions, people want to make money off us, people
- 41:25Speaker 2: are trying to get their fingers in the past. Yeah,
- 41:27Speaker 2: things in the pie. It's a good analogy, and like
- 41:28Speaker 2: it's the first time, and because we're nice, we kind
- 41:32Speaker 2: of take on, which is a good trait to have
- 41:35Speaker 2: everyone's advice and try and make it work, even people listening.
- 41:39Speaker 2: We try and make the best Like if someone says something,
- 41:41Speaker 2: we might change something. Yeah, When in reality, my realization
- 41:44Speaker 2: most recently has been which is sort of the same thing,
- 41:47Speaker 2: is we just have so much fun. But we did
- 41:49Speaker 2: it because we thought it was fun. Yeah, Yeah, Whereas
- 41:53Speaker 2: this last six to nine months has sort of been
- 41:55Speaker 2: like we've been doing it because people have said this
- 41:58Speaker 2: is what you should do it facts. Yeah, So this
- 42:02Speaker 2: next year, I hope this is enjoyable to listen to
- 42:05Speaker 2: our mindsets of what we're going into next year. Like
- 42:07Speaker 2: I think starting jan first, we're going to be doing
- 42:10Speaker 2: things purely. It's still going to be fucking entertaining, but yeah, no,
- 42:15Speaker 2: I know, yeah, kick going it's going to be like
- 42:17Speaker 2: purely out of love for it and because we love it,
- 42:21Speaker 2: the products actually going to be the best. Whereas we're
- 42:23Speaker 2: trying to make the product people want and we're not
- 42:26Speaker 2: building like we still have a good product, but we're
- 42:28Speaker 2: not giving the product we think. No he can I.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Say basically, if you think there's a good product, now
- 42:35Speaker 1: wait till next year.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, because not.
- 42:38Speaker 1: That we don't enjoy like not like but even think
- 42:40Speaker 1: about like we've gone for it's over here, can see
- 42:43Speaker 1: it's it's forty eight minutes.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah, like and we've just spoken.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Deeply about like what we wanted to speak about. I
- 42:50Speaker 1: feel like where we've our mindset's already where we want
- 42:52Speaker 1: to be January first, because we're going to give ourselves
- 42:54Speaker 1: to the end of this year. Yeah, I feel like
- 42:55Speaker 1: our mindsets have already gotten to that point and this
- 42:58Speaker 1: conversation could be the most boring station out of but
- 43:00Speaker 1: we just like found it very interesting because we're engaged.
- 43:03Speaker 1: There's a better chance that everyone listening is going to
- 43:05Speaker 1: be engaged.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and also being like self critical of myself in
- 43:09Speaker 2: the past, this is probably bad in my part as
- 43:12Speaker 2: a co host, Like you might be talking about something
- 43:14Speaker 2: and I could be interested in it, but I will
- 43:17Speaker 2: move the conversation along because I'm thinking in my head
- 43:20Speaker 2: someone said this isn't what we should be talking about.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah, like you, You're like, I feel like the listener
- 43:25Speaker 1: is gonna think this is boring. Yeah, I'm guilty of
- 43:27Speaker 1: it too.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, And I'm now now I've got I
- 43:30Speaker 2: suppose this is what fucking growing is.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I understand, like we're literally talking about what growth looks like.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Yeah, what our growth looks like in our journey, and like, yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 2: there's plenty of situations where you've been really passionate about something,
- 43:41Speaker 2: and I could have one hundred percent meen as passionate
- 43:43Speaker 2: about the conversation. I was like, like, let's move on.
- 43:46Speaker 2: So that's what that's what we're learning about, and that's
- 43:48Speaker 2: what I'm juggling, which is a I'm actually happy to
- 43:51Speaker 2: be juggling it.
- 43:52Speaker 1: No, it's it's exactly the thing. It's like the best
- 43:54Speaker 1: thing to be juggling is what you are loving.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think it's also I
- 44:00Speaker 2: said that one of our bad traits is we take
- 44:02Speaker 2: on everyone's device, but also one of our good traits
- 44:04Speaker 2: is we're willing to try new things. Yeah, which is
- 44:06Speaker 2: like I think merit to where we've got where we
- 44:09Speaker 2: are today. But I agree, Yeah, I thought that was
- 44:12Speaker 2: a really interesting question. No, I can't believe how many
- 44:15Speaker 2: i'd opened the Cannon world. I'm happy to learn about
- 44:18Speaker 2: like what you're dealing with in your personal slash surface
- 44:21Speaker 2: level with the gym and like dealing with your emotions,
- 44:24Speaker 2: which is I think it's good for our relationship too. No,
- 44:26Speaker 2: it's definitely Yeah, I agree. I guess it's true.
- 44:28Speaker 1: And then like if we know what's going on in
- 44:30Speaker 1: each other's heads, like you know, yeah, I don't know,
- 44:32Speaker 1: like if you somehow accidentally fall back into like thinking
- 44:36Speaker 1: something's not that good, let's say for the podcast, and
- 44:39Speaker 1: I'm like, I know Audie would be interested in this,
- 44:42Speaker 1: maybe just being like I know you don't want to
- 44:43Speaker 1: talk about this because you think it's not good, but
- 44:45Speaker 1: let's fucking talk about it.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I don't know, like maybe exactly exactly, and like you
- 44:49Speaker 2: just you can't please everybody anyway, like we must go
- 44:52Speaker 2: please ourselves. But do you want to piss some men off? Yeah?
- 45:00Speaker 1: I know.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Actually you can read one as well. But I've got
- 45:04Speaker 2: one way how to piss men off from Otie Clark.
- 45:07Speaker 2: So we talked about at the start of the episode,
- 45:10Speaker 2: what to get your man for Christmas? How to piss
- 45:12Speaker 2: him off? Don't get him a Christmas present, use the
- 45:15Speaker 2: money to buy yourself some relatables Blues and Greens T shirts,
- 45:19Speaker 2: oh facts, and then be like when he says, hey,
- 45:23Speaker 2: where's my Christmas present? Give him a little shitty car
- 45:25Speaker 2: that says I love got it, and then be wearing
- 45:28Speaker 2: the shirt and be like, I spent it on this
- 45:30Speaker 2: bad boy. Fuck. Yeah. Then what it's gonna happen.
- 45:34Speaker 1: He's gonna be like, well, it must be a good podcast, yeah, Mia, listen, Okay.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Let me, I'm going to read this.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Make sure it's good. Okay, how to piss men off?
- 45:47Speaker 1: This is for like this wouldn't piss us off? But
- 45:50Speaker 1: I can see it pissing some men off that enjoy
- 45:53Speaker 1: a good man's plain. Okay, quote, why don't we just
- 45:56Speaker 1: print more money? Odds are if you say this, he'll
- 46:00Speaker 1: respond to smugly by saying, quote unquote because of inflation.
- 46:06Speaker 1: That's when you give him a confused look and go, oh, honey, no,
- 46:08Speaker 1: what are you afraid of? It's called hyperinflation. Leading capitalist
- 46:12Speaker 1: economists actually encourage inflation at a rate of two or
- 46:15Speaker 1: three percent per year to stimulate a need for investment
- 46:18Speaker 1: and prevent deflation. Deflation is well, you know, I really
- 46:22Speaker 1: don't like feel like explaining deflation right now. Any pool
- 46:26Speaker 1: shark can tell you that this move is called a hustle. However,
- 46:29Speaker 1: using this in context is called the finite bro honeypot.
- 46:34Speaker 1: So basically, you're gotta make him feel like shit by
- 46:36Speaker 1: making him feel like an idiot and.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Baddies remember that, because I know from experience. My girlfriend's
- 46:43Speaker 2: asked me that exact question, why don't we print more money? Yeah? Really?
- 46:45Speaker 2: And I don't know the answer, and I say something
- 46:47Speaker 2: I don't think I've said inflation by like, oh, it
- 46:49Speaker 2: just doesn't work, Like I.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Think I feel like a good answer to one of
- 46:52Speaker 1: the prim of money is like, if that question hasn't
- 46:55Speaker 1: been asked, we're in a very bad place.
- 47:00Speaker 2: But if you memorize that, you could have put me
- 47:02Speaker 2: in my place. Like, actually it's because of this.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we needed we may to like print
- 47:07Speaker 1: that page out. Yeah, put it on like a shirt,
- 47:09Speaker 1: next one, next one. You could fucking oh the guy
- 47:14Speaker 1: that owns this book would have to do it. Is
- 47:15Speaker 1: imagine if you print got one hundred and nine shirts,
- 47:18Speaker 1: mate of like be spent off and then that's.
- 47:20Speaker 2: A good idea. Yeah. True, But everybody, thank you very
- 47:23Speaker 2: much for listening. Five start by the end of the
- 47:25Speaker 2: year Facebook group. If every single one of you five
- 47:28Speaker 2: started right now I said it like a couple of
- 47:29Speaker 2: months ago, would get ten thousand and five stars or
- 47:32Speaker 2: flip it off. But if everyone listening right now five started,
- 47:36Speaker 2: we'd get there. So you get like more than that. Yeah,
- 47:40Speaker 2: if you want to do this a little chicky favor
- 47:43Speaker 2: if you love us, if you've made it this far, otherwise,
- 47:47Speaker 2: go give us your money on Patreon. I'm kidding, guys,
- 47:51Speaker 2: I love it. I love you all, and we'll see
- 47:56Speaker 2: you next time.
