- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Feeling good.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Let's take a break.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: I'm just kidding.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: No, please.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Do we need to like loosen up?
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: We do need to loosen up.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: I feel stiff and like, I don't know.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like I had a I don't know.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: When I you never wait, do you ever wake up and like there's creases on your arms and you like can't feel your legs and your stomach hurts, you need to throw up, you're hot, you're sweating, you're bald.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Well, that was me this morning.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Same as well.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I woke up bald.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: I you guys know, um, if you don't, okay, whatever.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: I go to bed at like 2 a.m.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: 2 a.m.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: is my bedtime every single day.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: And last time last night, I fell asleep on the couch at 1047, and I woke up this morning at 10 a.m.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: And I had my Alani's for this morning.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: They were like like, you know, 90 degrees in the car, boiling in the car, my makeup was melted, my vivance was melted, like everything was just so insane this morning, but we made it.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: We made it.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: This is boring.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: No, we're here.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: I was out of town.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: I was, guys, I was gone for 13 days.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: You were gone for 13 days.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: And everyone's asking for the tea on this trip.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: There's no tea.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Let's just address that now.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: There's no tea.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, there is.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: But we're not gonna talk about it.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Like, so basically, I went to LA.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: I went to LA, I went to Disneyland.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: It was the first time I ever went to Disneyland.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Also, let me say this right now: Disneyland greater than Magic Kingdom.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: It was life-changing.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: I know nothing about Disney.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: It was just so good.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna become like I'm not gonna talk too much about Disney, but it was just so good.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And also because we had like the VIP of the VIP tours, like the guy who did our tour did Harry and Megan.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Like it was yeah, it was just the best experience.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: I could never not.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, we're ruffling.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, I thought it was Jared.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Aaron, you can do whatever you want.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: I thought Aaron, I thought Jared was like moving furniture back there.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I love it though.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Um, I was about to yell at him.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Never mind.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Aaron, you can do whatever you want.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: You could blow a like bring a tractor through here.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Um so anyway, um, Disneyland was amazing.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: Uh the tour was incredible, the Coco Puff, um, the Cocoa Puff cold brew, the cream cheese pretzels.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Now I feel big.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Now I'm just talking about the food, but it was really good.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: And then we flew from there to Salt Lake City.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: And something really important happened on this flight.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: But before, did you get to meet Mickey?
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: No, but I met someone even greater.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Goofy?
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Lisa Barlow.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm getting on my flight from LA to Salt Lake City, and I'm getting uh what?
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: I'm just laughing.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Uh from just pure joy?
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: I'm just happy to be back.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: Guys, it's been 13 days, like world traveler.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: I'm just happy to be back.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Honestly, I feel like I haven't let you say a word yet.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: You should jump in.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: No, you're good.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Like I said, I'm not monitoring it.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, good.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: So I'm getting on my flight from Salt Lake to LA, and I hear a familiar voice behind me.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: I hear a woman going, it's just amazing.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And I look over and I see this beautiful woman with sunglasses on, and it is the one and only Lisa Barlow of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: I'm like not okay.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, I was like, whoa.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: And I was flying first class on this flight, and I knew that she would too, because we know that she does not sit anywhere other than first class.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: And here's the other thing, too.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: As I say this whole entire story, I would like to say one thing.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: I'm like a cool person.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not gonna like meet a celebrity and then like spill everything.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: The reason why I'm going to share this story is because this woman gets obviously there's people who are mean to her and they have negative things to say about her.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And I want everyone to know how she treats somebody who is, as of right now, a nobody.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: As of right now.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: As of right now.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: So I'm getting on the flight, I sit in my first class seat, and the seat next to me is open.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: And I literally pray, I was like, God, let this be Lisa Barlow's seat.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Then this woman with a very round hat, like the worship leader type hats, sits down next to me, and I was so mad at her.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: That reminds me of have you seen the Drake and Josh movie?
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Drag and Josh goes to Hollywood and they get seated by this big passenger in the middle.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, and isn't he eating like fried chicken or something?
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: I made it up the fried chicken part, but he did have a bucket of chicken.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: Okay, the man.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, the man and the woman.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I remember that.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: That was your flight.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: So this woman sits next to me, I'm like so mad.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Then Lisa Barlow comes on and sits down.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Or no, before she sits down, I'm putting away my bag.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: She says to me, and I said, Hey, not to be weird, but I do love you.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: And she's like, I love you, Toe.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: She's so sweet.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: So she sits down, she sleeps the whole flight, which I was like, I love that.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: Did she have a mask?
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Uh no.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: So then I'm getting off the flight.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: We both stand up and we're talking as we're exiting the flight.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: I have to get my bag out of the thing.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: So she walks out, and I was like, that's the last time I've seen Lisa Barlow.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: No.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Not with somebody as kind as an and as intentional as Lisa Barlow.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I walk off the flight.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: She's waiting for me.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: And here's the thing: this is a busy, rich, famous woman.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: If I was her, I'd be darting to that baggage claim.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: No, miss.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: She waited for me inside of like that like long tunnel you walked through.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: She waited for me.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh my God, you didn't have to wait for me.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: And we walked and talked all the way from the plane all the way to the baggage claim.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: It's like a mile walk at that airport.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: It's like long.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: At Salt Lake City, you have to walk like a 5K to get to the baggage claim.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: Did anyone stop and like recognize her?
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: People you could see would recognize her.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: There was also a lot of families welcoming home, their kids that were on like their missions or whatever.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Their Mormon missions.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: Is this like the week for Mormon missions?
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: I don't know, but they were all like coming home and crying and hugging and wearing ties.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Um so anyway, so we're walking, we talked the whole entire way.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: She, you know, I'm not gonna spill her tea, but we talked and she was so lovely and so amazing and so kind.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Then we get to the baggage claim and she introduces me to her son, her husband.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: Was it Jack?
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: Jack, her son, her husband, John.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: They were so nice.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: They were so fun.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: She invited me to their event that night.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: I couldn't go because I had Jesse's sister's birthday dinner.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: But it she genuinely was so nice.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: And we talked on like two podcasts ago that this is like his favorite.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: On the Mount Rushmore, she is on there of Bravo.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And the fact that I got to meet her, and she was just, she's, and I also will say this: she's everything you see on TV.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: That woman is not fake on TV.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: That is her.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: And she was so nice.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Like, Baby Gorgeous is a bop.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: It's such a good song.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Yo, just baby gorgeous.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Your energy is magic, magic.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: And her energy is magic.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: So that happened.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Then I was in Salt Lake City.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: Da-da-da-da.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: No.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: But with that trip, um, I got probably 20 messages being like, oh my gosh, like, how does Dom know Jesse?
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: How does Dom know Marciano?
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: Like, I was just blown up all week and I just so funny.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: I did not know that.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: But me, like, I I don't want to not I almost a downgrade again.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: I don't want to downplay their um fame and their status.
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: But me, since I don't watch reality TV, I also like haven't gotten a haircut in like six years.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: Like, I know nothing about the hair world, like anything.
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: I don't know much, and I didn't realize like just how known they are known they are.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: And so I just had to like, you know, explain the short story and just be like, they're so sweet, they're awesome.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: But yeah.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: The quick story is they went to to Laney and Nashville.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: I went to Laney and Nashville because I know Paul and they are famous.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: We met backstage and then it just from there on out, like we became best friends.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: And they're very kind, as we talked about.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: They genuinely are so nice.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: Like I only was supposed to be there six days.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: I ended up being there 13 days.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to Italy with them in like four weeks.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: Which will be awesome.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Yes, but I'm I won't be gone on a Thursday.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: You won't.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: So that we're gonna be on track.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: Thursdays, yep, we're here.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: I leave a it's like a Thursday night to like a Wednesday.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: So that podcast will be up.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: It will be up.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: And then for anyone asking for any tea and opportunities and things and that and whatever is you'll just have to wait and see.
- 8:37unknown: Oh my gosh.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: Literally nothing.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Also, too.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: We know.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: A literally a little something.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: But I think for us, like, I just don't consider, like, I've already talked to us.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: I don't really consider anyone famous, like, unless I meet like Queen Latifah or like Kiki Kiki Palmer, you know.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Um she's getting honored on the Walk of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame, I think, like today or this week.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: Which one?
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Kiki Palmer.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Long deserved.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Oh, she deserves it.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: But yeah, so I don't really consider anyone famous.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: I actually I do want to share this.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Um, I did accidentally meet someone famous, I think a couple months ago.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: Do you remember the story?
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, I do.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: So really quick.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Wait, not us being fake, and I like we didn't talk last night about how we were gonna share this story.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, oh yeah, that one.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: No, but this one was so funny to me because I I don't know what about it is about it.
- 9:26SPEAKER_02: I don't recognize anyone, and that's not me being so cool and chill, whatever, but I just don't associate.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: You just like don't know who they are unless they're Queen Latifah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: No, exactly.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: And so I remember this one time.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: I was having this conversation with this person, Tulsa.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: Um, we were going through all of these things, and I thought this was an unhoused individual.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: And I am so like I was just talking to them, and they were really going on and being like, Oh yeah, no, I'm here.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm gonna film a movie, and I'm not gonna be pretentious.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: I'm like, oh yeah, like awesome.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: Like, what what's the movie?
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: Like, I was really like, You're like me too.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: No, me too.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: You know, I was really going and it was not until this person like left, and someone came up to me and was like, Do you know who you were just talking to?
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: And I was like, No, like I was just like, just you know, a friend downtown, and they were like, That was James Franco.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: I didn't entire comp I thought I just thought he was in uh, you know, just one of our unhoused neighbors.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: Which is honestly a served to you.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: No, but honestly, I was just like, movie.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: I was like, Yeah, like I was really hyping him up.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: I was just make sure they're like paying you, you know what I mean?
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: I was like really advocating for him.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: I was like, Are you are you know, are you did you sign a contract?
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: Like, don't make sure they're like they're not taking advantage of you, but yeah, it was James Franco.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: So I just don't really recognize anyone.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: You start bringing up SAG Aftra.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, literally.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: That is so funny.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: Uh but yeah, the show.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Any updates over the last 13 days?
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: I honestly I don't even remember my memory recall.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: I don't remember what you like.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: I don't know what happened this morning.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: I yeah, I don't same.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Honestly, this whole week was such a big thing.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: We'll de-bop as we talk.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Well, should we get into our truth serums?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Well, our truth serums is every episode we talk about something that we just want to get off our chest.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Also, let's really quick, we have not addressed why we even called this podcast truth serum.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: So something we would say, like, for example, if I want, if my if I'm like, hey, Lauren, like, let's go to dinner or you can stay home.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: She's like, okay, I'll go to dinner.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: I would say, Truth Serum.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Do you actually want to go to dinner?
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: It's just like the hall, like you're allowed to say whatever you like, you just be honest.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: So that's what the truth serum comes to.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: Growing up, my dad used to always say that to me.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: He'd be like, Okay, truth serum, like, are you going to college in Tulsa because God called you there or because you want to be close to your boyfriend?
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: And so he would say those, and that'd be, I can just like say anything.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: I'd be like, no, Lord, you know.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Um, and so I brought that into our friendship, and it's changed so much because there's moments where I'm like, Truth serum, like, yeah, I don't want to see you right now.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: Like, can I go home?
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and also truth serum, I mean it's indivergent, like it is a thing, but like, in regards to like this podcast and what we how we use it, that is where it comes from.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, so do you want to do your truth serum first?
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: You can do yours first.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, I just feel like I've been talking a lot.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Don't don't worry about that.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: I guess I do have a podcast with a mic.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: You do, therefore, I'm gonna talk.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Okay, so my truth serum is this.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Stop.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Just stop.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: I just like hate it.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Just stop.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: I just hate it.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: And that's my truth serum.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: We should normalize ending a sentence whenever you want.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: There are so many times I'm talking, and by the time I haven't even reached the predicate, I have not even reached the verb, and I'm like, this sentence has gotta be wrapped up.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: And like, why try to tie it?
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: Just I love the I love the example and how everyone in the room like accepted that it was done.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's just so many times where I'm just like Oh my gosh.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: And I don't owe you anything.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: I don't owe you the predicate.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: When I hear you stop talking, I'm just like, yeah.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: I don't owe you the prepositional phrase.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: I was I was waiting.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just like there's times where I'm listening to somebody and they're talking, and I just want to look at them and I'm gonna say, Hey, I give you full permission to just wrap it up.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: You don't have to end it.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Just like you don't have to like finish it perfectly, just like stop speaking.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then yeah, like your words are rolling quick and there's not a lot of meaning here, just drop it.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: No, yeah.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: I just norm just normalize that.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Like I just get tired of my own voice.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Or I'm talking, I'm like, hey, I don't, I actually literally could not care less about what I'm saying.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: I feel like we would save a lot of time and energy if we just brought back fragments.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: That's and that's something you have taught me years ago, and I'm so glad I just stopped.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: I people just need to realize like, I just hate it is a sentence.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: I just hate it.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Or just be like, stop.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: Like if that's a sentence.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: So bring back fragments.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: If you're if you're talking and you're just like, I'm sick of this, just stop.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: You literally do not owe anyone anything.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Bring back your fragment, right?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, bring back the fragment.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Your fragment.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, I will.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, hey.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: Here's my truth serum.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: No, I'm just kidding.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: My truth serum today is you should make an effort to be friends with your friend's other friends.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, a run-on.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: Speaking of sentences.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: For this, I hate.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: I just me when I'm reaching a word count.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: No, literally.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: No essay.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: So with this, I get so tired of that toxic thing and be like, oh, I'm a toxic best friend.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: Like, oh, he better not have any other friends.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Like this.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: That's so me.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Is it?
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: With me, we're different in a lot of ways.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: No, not with you.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Anyway, but with that, like, I I think because you've been to all of my birthday parties over the last decade.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: I'm not like this with you.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: You know that.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, you come and there's gonna be like my neighbors, like Timothy Earl and Lisa there.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: There's gonna be like my friend Michelle from the Reese's.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: Like, there's gonna be someone from every grocery store in Toolset at my event.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: So that's what's funny about Lauren's birthdays parties, which she has from here on out canceled.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: I canceled.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm sitting, it's my first, like, not my first, but it's like, I don't know.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Hey.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm gonna move on to that next sentence.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: I don't owe you guys the rest of that one.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm sitting there and it's just a party, whatever.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: People are there, their speeds, whatever.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: A man walks in, probably 40s.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: I was like No, he's 57.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, 57, barges in, bum, bum, bum, grabs a box of the pizza and says, Thanks, Lauren, and leaves.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: That's considerful, yes.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: That's my best friend.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: That's my next tour neighbor.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: But he was invited though.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: He's like, Hey, Lauren.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Hey, Lauren, happy birthday.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Leaves.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: I literally thought a person broke into her home.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: But that that's but that's her birthday.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: But that's my birthdays, and that's my level of friends.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm just like, hey, you're here.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: You don't want to socialize.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: You want a box of this like andalini's pizza.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Pick it up and go.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Pick it up and go.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: It's the cashier at the neighborhood Walmart.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: It's it's um Ethel.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: It's Ethel.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: It's Jasmine from C's Candy at the mall.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, everyone will be there.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: And then like her best friend that she's known since she was six, like, doesn't get invited.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: No, like forgets, she forgets to text her.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: So that's that.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: And I think too with this, I'm going to transition into a quick story of just I've always like, even just growing up, like throughout college, I would want my core best friend group from high school.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: I would meet all of their college best friends.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: I would go up.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Um, and today I'm gonna be talking about Alexis.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Um, she went to school in Edmund, and I would go up and Alexis is my fave.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: I love her.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: I love her.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: So she should be president.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: She really should.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: So I went up to her house one time.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: Um, I went to this awards dinner.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: This was like after we graduated, and one of her friends from college was going to be staying the night because she had a job that she worked in Tulsa, she had a job in Oklahoma City that she would go to and had to spend the night once a week.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Long backstory.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: But she was there, and um, she's like, Hey, I hope you don't mind.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: Like, um, Michaela's already going to be here.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: Um, you can still come.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: And anyway, so I come.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm like frazzled that I have this huge box of stuff.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Dom talked in the last podcast of like, I can't just, I wish there could be a shot to like my bags.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: I my 10 bags in this room right now.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: I can never just come with like one light.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: So this time, since I was going to an awards dinner, I came with a suitcase.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: I came with like six Walmart sacks, and I came with this huge clear tub, like the starlight from Walmart.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: It was a huge clear tub filled to the brim with every shirt I've ever owned.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: Because I'm just like, okay, this awards dinner, like I don't know what to wear.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I brought like 18 pantsuits, like, okay.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: So I unload my baggage to Alexis' house, and she just got a dog named Milo.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: And Milo is a great little dog, whatever.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: He's like a little Chihuahua mix.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: And I come through this door with this box carrying like this, and I come through the door, and Milo starts barking in my face.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: He's nipping out my legs, like barking, attacking me, because he thinks he's like, Why is this big box like coming in the door?
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: I was like offended already.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: And so I sat down this box.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Um, long story short, um, I give hugs, whatever.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: And I sit on the couch.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: This story's gonna make sense.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: I sit on the couch and I started getting a little whiff of something.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: A sit smell?
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: A sit smell.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: I started getting a little whiff of something.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: And here's me on one side of the couch, like the dogs now in the other room, like settling down because he was so angry about this box, okay?
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Michaela, Alexis' friend from college, was on the other side of the couch.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: And I kept increasingly getting this smell where I'm just like, wow.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Like you stink.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: Like I thought As in you or her.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: Her.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, so you didn't think it was your own sit smell.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: I didn't think it was my own sit smell.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: I looked over and I was getting increasingly angry.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: When you see a person and you smell something, you can just associate the smell to them.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: And for me, I associate that smell to a person for a year.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: If you have bad breath once, if you fart around me once, it oh, you're 12 months now, you're in stink gel.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: So I was on the couch and I was getting increasingly angry, and I was just like, oh my gosh, like, like, but you stink, like I was just so mad.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: And so I kept being like, like smelling, sniffing around and be like, hey, like, there's like a little smell.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: And this was the worst smell I've ever smelled.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: It was the most putrid, like fishy, like awful, like oil-based smell.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: It was like awful, okay.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: And then I started texting Alexis, which I felt bad about.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: I said, Hey, I don't know how to address it, but your friend stinks.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: I was just like, hey, I'm I've always tried to like integrate friends.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: I'm just like, I'm about to cut off you and your friend right now.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Like, honestly, I'm just like the fact that you didn't confront her on the smell, like I'm getting upset.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, guys, Michaela was sniffing around, texting Alexis the same thing.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: About you, about me.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: Hey, as soon as Lauren sat down, I smelled mare.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: I smelled as soon as she smelled that I sat sat down, she brought in the most insane odor of her life into this room.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: So she was texting me, she's like, I don't know how to address it.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Alexis.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: No, exactly.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: She was in the room with Milo, like settling down, and she was just like nervous because she was getting text in from like both of us.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: And Alexis comes out and starts sniffing around, like trying to play it cool because she didn't want to cause conflict between her two friends.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Between the two stinks.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: Okay, stink on the right, stink on the left, stink in the middle.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: She comes out and she's like, oh my gosh, like there's a smell.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Like, Lauren, do you think it's the containers you brought in?
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: Like she's trying to like blame my clothes.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: Um meanwhile, when this is what happened was when I came in the door with this big box, Milo had in sorry, this is kind of gross, an anal gland expression and sprayed all over the couch because of my bags.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Like he like No, it just like it was this secrete, like whatever.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: He sprayed like all over the couch.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, you don't know what it was.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: I don't know what it was.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: It's something that dogs.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: Bodily fluid.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: Yes, bodily fluid.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: So it came from Milo, like the entire time.
- 21:31SPEAKER_01: Ew.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: So did you guys become friends now?
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: No.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Did you become friends at stinky?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: So at the end.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: The issue with me though is I would still associate it to that person.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: That's my problem.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: This smell.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: I just need to let you know.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: And she's like, I smell it too.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: She's like, I thought it was you.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I thought it was you.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: And then she realized it was my.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Milo after like Alexis realized.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: But anyway, be friends with your friends' friends.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: That was almost a day where I was about to no.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Something.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: But anyway, going forward, yeah.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: Ending a sentence.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: That is period.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Period.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: I am.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: I would say with every with you, I'm really I love your friends though.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: That's the thing.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: It's like your friend group, I genuinely love them.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: And I have such a good time with them.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: With everybody else, I am that territorial, like annoying friend.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: I am.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: I'm like, it's just me.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: You don't need anyone else.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: It's just me.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: You have, yeah.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: But you and I both have a lot of best friends because we keep our friends for years.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: And people are always like, oh my gosh, you and Don, do you guys even care about us?
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Because we you guys have so many friends.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: I hate that.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: I hate that.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: I was gonna one of my truth series was gonna be like things you just shouldn't say.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: And that was one that was actually on there.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know I keep all my friends until I don't.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so you can keep all your friends, but your friends can only have one best friend, and that's you.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: But I can have many.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: Excellent.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: It's a world I created.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: It's a house I built.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: It is a house you built.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, now we're gonna get into our weekly doses, which is where Lauren and I read two pop culture headlines that mean something to us.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: And now we have the last 12 days.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: So I will say this.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Did the world pause when I left town?
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Because I was looking at headlines and I was like, did anything happen?
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Really nothing.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Like literally nothing.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Mine is very tragic.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, mine is very like, why why are we talking about this?
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: But it will, but it will form a conversation that is in which entertaining.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: I'll just preface mine on that.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: I want you to go first so it's light, and then mine is a little more tragic, and I probably will just maybe I'll say my fun one first and then my tragic one second.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: So the first one is, and this is how you know nothing went on.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: Spain defeats Argentina one to zero to win the FIFA World Cup final.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: I'm just like ask me if I literally get up and leave.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: Ask me.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: If I literally care.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: Not at all.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: But but I have something to say about it.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Not everyone who cares about the World Cup is annoying, but everybody who is annoying cares about the World Cup.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Does that mean anything to you?
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: It does.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Another way to word it.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Not everyone who I don't hate everyone who cares about the World Cup.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: But the list of people you hate.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: All care about the World Cup.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so it has a stink on it.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and that doesn't mean that if you're listening to this and you're my friend and you're like, wait, but I like the World Cup, I'm not saying that it's everyone who cares.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: But I'm just saying my list my list of people that annoy me, every single one of them, one thing they have in common, they care about the World Cup.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: I will say, I cared.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: I I don't really like to watch sports in general, but I will say I went to so I have um an amazing guest in the room.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Her name is Amanda.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: Amanda.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Hey.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: So Amanda had a um her brother's birthday, Blas's birthday.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: Happy birthday, Blas.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: Blaz.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: Um Blaz.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: So he had a World Cup, like the final with the Spain and Argentina.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: He had that as a part of his birthday.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: That's funny.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: And it was one of those one of the most fun parties I've ever been to.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: Like it was a pool party, it was awesome.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: And the energy of people caring about Spain winning made me want Spain to win.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Because being a part of something bigger than yourself is fun.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: And that was a moment.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: And I see that and I hear that.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: And there were moments where I was watching the game, and you know, when everyone went, ah, I was like, yeah.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Like you were excited.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: When they would be, because I didn't know who we were rooting for.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: And I thought it was cool that America was hosting.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: I was so Spain that day.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, I Spain was the only answer.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: What's the big question?
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: Are you do you like Messi or Ronaldo?
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Is that the question that everyone cares about?
- 25:48unknown: Messi or Ronaldo?
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: Ronaldo?
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Messi.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: No, no, it's it's a younger, it's eight, he's 18.
- 25:53SPEAKER_02: He's like, uh, what's his name?
- 25:55unknown: I don't know.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: We wanted Argentina to lose and they lost, right?
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Thank goodness.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: But they kept time.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: Okay, and like I don't like another five minutes would be added.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: I was like, why?
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: Us pretending to care.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: No, I did care.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: At this point, I was locked in.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: I was like, I don't want these, these Argent, I don't want Argentina to win.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: Nothing wrong with Argentina.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Whoever the people around us are rooting for, that's who I'm rooting for.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: But also to say that happened.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: Justin Bieber played a guitar.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: Once again.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: Do you like did you like his halftime video?
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: Doing the least.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: Hot take.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm sorry.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: You need to dance.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: Get a dancer.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Pop lock and break.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: You know what he should have played?
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: He should have Beauty and the Beat for the halftime show.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would have loved that.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, that's cool and all, but I don't know.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: You're getting booked for these huge gigs.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I need you to just like do something.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: There is an element of And I love him, by the way.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: I I don't have much uh thought on him and his wife.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Like they're just doing their thing.
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: But I think that they like the aesthetic of like, yeah, doing the least, and it net everything that they do becomes trendy.
- 26:57SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: So it's just kind of like we can just show up and whatever, do whatever, and people are gonna like.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: And that's turn, and I like that.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: I like that a lot.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: All right, go to yours.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: Now the first tragic one?
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: No, this I'm gonna do the light one first.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Since we're low on news, this is actually something I care about.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: San Diego Comic Con is officially underway.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: This is the only headline I was seeing, but I literally would skip past it because I was like, no way are we gonna talk about this on our podcast.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: So glad to know that we feel the same.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: No, yeah, we don't feel the same.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, is that sarcasm?
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: Hi, sarcasm, yeah.
- 27:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sorry.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: It brushed past me.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: Um, studios have been revealing different trailers, different casting news.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power, Star Trek, Strange New Worlds, yep.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: Exclusive footage.
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: No, Dom.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: Hey, I see your eyes glancing off.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: All words I cannot care about.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: I will say this.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Marvel released that they're doing the Doomsday movie or whatever.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Does it have to do with Comic-Con?
- 27:57SPEAKER_02: Uh, probably.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: I care about that.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: But the thing is, this is amazing.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: I like, just like us going and, you know, going to a Spain versus Argentina watch party for a birthday.
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: I care about things that people care about.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: And I love the turntness of like dress, everyone dressing up, being so passionate about something.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: So I've always actually wanted to go to Comic Con.
- 28:18SPEAKER_02: No, I think it's a good thing.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: If you're hearing this, the city of San Diego, please invite me.
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: Or whoever, yeah.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: Okay, whoever can hear this, invite me to Comic Con.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: I'll dress up.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: I think it'd be turned.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: I would dress up.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: I would do all of that.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: No, I yeah.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: I don't know what I would dress up as.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: Well, it's a what would you dress up as?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Some type of superhero.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: Your Batman.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: I would say I wore that three years in a row for Halloween because I live.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: No, I got it prepared.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: I might want to be like Wally or something.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: Who's that?
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: The robot from Okay.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, and that.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: No, yeah.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: I guess it's not a com-what I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: No, I would go.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: I feel like you can dress as anything.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can dress as anything.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: So I thought it would be fun to like dress as yeah, just as Wally from um Disney.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: Oh no, I love that.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: No, I'm super happy for it.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: What is it?
- 29:03unknown: It's from Wally.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: Wally.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Wally from Wally.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Is that Comic Con?
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: Can you do anything?
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: I think you can do anything.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: You can probably do anything.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, I love that.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: Congrats to all of the people who attended Comic Con.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: Honestly, by me.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: Um the next one.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: Sorry, y'all.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: The next one, Love Island winners revealed.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: America chooses its favorite couple, Bryce and Trinity.
- 29:29SPEAKER_02: Woo!
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: I don't wear who any of those people are.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: I don't wear.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: I don't watch.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: Um they were just clearly the couple from the beginning.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: I will just say this.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: This was literally the worst season of Love Island I've ever seen.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: With my eyes.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: And I know we all say that like every season, but this was genuinely horrible.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: No one is is memorable.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: Bryce and Trinity are are I I genuinely like them together.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: And the Bryce and Zach friendship, I think, was entertaining and and and fun.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: But like overall, like it genuinely was so bad.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: And I started to watch episode one because I wanted like for Don, like something for us to talk about.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: And I'm so thankful we didn't go the direction on this podcast of making a love island fan.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, we would have had nothing to talk about.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: We would have, yeah.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: So I just I feel like the the to thought that I've been seeing online is did they ruin the season by making having them all like do a makeout challenge or something?
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: So they immediately, yeah, because then it's like making out or kissing or whatever means nothing because the second you get there, everyone's already done it.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: So it's kind of just which I mean for these people that doesn't mean anything anyway, but that definitely takes it away.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: The other problem.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, cough, cough.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Um should I laws in?
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: You should.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: Cheers.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to me.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Also, Alani is sending me a package.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: I'm like waiting for it.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: I'm excited.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: Um also like their main producer died like the first week.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: Are you serious?
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think that it affected the season.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Obviously, that's not their only that's not the only reason it's sad.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: But you could tell I guess the producers were kind of scrambling because they really didn't have any like bombshells.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: The challenge the challenges were still happening though.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: But like, I don't know, it just was overall just like not a good season.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Nobody was really memorable.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: Did you watch any seasons ever?
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: Uh no.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: Ever since PPG, which is two years ago?
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: Uh Rhode Island Housewives.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Ever since two years ago with PPG, Leah, um, Janae, um, and Serena, they've been trying to reheat those nachos, which last season was turned because you had Huda and Amaya Papaya.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: The um Did she ever get her flavor out?
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: I feel like they put it out like ten years late.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: I don't know, but the way she talked is just amazing.
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: She said bags of skittos, and she would say, like instead of Trinity, she said my girl trinali.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: Trinilee.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: Was it a bit or is it serious?
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: She's a speech impediment.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: She has a speech impediment, but like that I've never seen.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love that.
- 31:50SPEAKER_02: She created her own T's or L's.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Or what was the other word that she would say?
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: Did you watch it, Amanda?
- 31:55unknown: I did.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: I oh she would say um Yeah, she would just like make up her own words.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: Like instead of gratitude, she'd say gratitude.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: And I just I don't know, I just like that making up her own words.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: But anyway, they won.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Cheers to them.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Awful season.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: They already started casting the next season.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: It's just kind of a flop.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: Ever since PBG, it's just not been the same.
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: But anyway.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: I understand that.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: All right, yours?
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: Okay, mine's a little heavier today.
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: Um, so an Owasso influencer.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: So we as you guys know, we're in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: And there was an influencer that was um recently killed um because she she did the trend on.
- 32:33SPEAKER_02: Have you seen that?
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: She's from Owasso.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 32:36SPEAKER_02: Owasso, Oklahoma.
- 32:37SPEAKER_02: She's an influencer here, and her husband was also, she he had like 330,000 followers on TikTok as well.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's the documentary challenge where you sit down and it's like when Netflix asks me to da-da-da-da.
- 32:50SPEAKER_02: Yes, and she went on and she was just like when um like doing the neck that doing that trend, and then she was just like finding out that the man I'm divorcing is also a pedophile.
- 33:01SPEAKER_02: Right after that happened, I think she had a restraining order on him, a protective order, but she went in and then yeah, shot her and then shot himself, and then the son um called the cops.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: And it's just crazy.
- 33:15SPEAKER_02: Wait, he killed himself too?
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: He is dead too.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: How old is their son?
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: Um, I feel like I mean, I saw him comment on her his mom's best friend's TikTok, so he's old enough to have social media.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: I feel like he's between 15 and 18, and like that is horrible.
- 33:30SPEAKER_02: It is awful, and it is crazy because it first of all, it happens so close to us.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: Um, second thing is like it is crazy, like when you start.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: I'm not, by the way, I'm not saying that like the person who started the trend, you know, whatever, but it's crazy how like the what is it, butterfly effect or whatever it's called of like starting something and then it like ripples into what is the word?
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: Oh I don't know.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know the effects, anyway.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: But I'm sure that's I'm sure that's a lot of fear of it.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: You know, a trend and doing something and just not knowing where it's gonna take off and what it leads to.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: What it leads to.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: I think that's giving butterfly.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: It seems butterflies.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: That is so bad.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: So yeah, from that, like since she posted that, um, he I think he broke the protective order and just did that to both of them.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: And it is absolutely just just awful, honestly.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: So I say the reason I bring this up now, um, it's not just local news, it is national news at this point, and it has triggered a lot of online conversation of like domestic violence, like what are the signs?
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: Like it has picked up literally everyone that reports on news is talking about this story on TikTok.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: Everyone has their takes.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: I did not know because Amanda sent it to us.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: I did not know she was in Owaso.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: Uh, and it's of course it's sad either way, but uh considering that's like 30 minutes away, like that's like so.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: It is insane.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: So anyway.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Well, praying for her son, I pray that he because if his dad did that type of stuff, I'm sure that he's lived an interesting like life as well.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: So I hope that he like is okay.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I hope that he's like okay.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: But if you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, feeling unsafe, or having thoughts of suicide, you don't have to face it alone.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: Help is available 24-7.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: Call or text 988 for the Suicide in Crisis Lifeline.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: If you're experiencing domestic violence, you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

- 35:32SPEAKER_01: Next, we're gonna go to our ICUs, which our ICU is basically the thing that we've been beating to death, whether it's like music we've been loving, shows, items, drinks, foods, whatever it is, apps on our phones that we've been loving.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Um, I'll go first.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: Mine is just Spotify.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: I love Spotify, there's just so much there.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: I love going there and seeing what music has come out, what podcasts have been released.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: Everything that I like love to listen to is on Spotify.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I just think that's powerful.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: Um, and there's just so many things I've been listening to lately, and I just want to hit on all of them.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: And I'll just go quick.
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: I'm excited.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: Gracie Abrams' new album.
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: She went to the school of Abby Gamboa for that album.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: It is what it's worship music.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: Like it's she did she did her big one with that one.
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: I know she's been getting hate for it.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Olivia Rodrigo, Charlie XCX's new album, which apparently is not for you.
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: I've heard.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: So Charlie XCX has done a fan base cleanse with her new songs after Brad, and she cleansed me right out.
- 36:25SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm I'm out the door, I'm flushed away.
- 36:27SPEAKER_01: No, and she nailed my feet into the ground.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: Yes, because I was just like, I'm listening to this, I'm like, okay, I just want to run into a wall right now.
- 36:33SPEAKER_02: None of it?
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no spring, summer.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: That one's not as bad.
- 36:37SPEAKER_02: But it's like rock, meow's egg.
- 36:39SPEAKER_02: I understand.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, it's a little okay.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: I'm just like, where's yeah?
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: But I love it.
- 36:44SPEAKER_01: All the podcasts I listen to, The Toast, Jake Shane, Bald and the Beautiful, Ride the Pod is back.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm just daily trying to reheat Benito Skinner's nachos.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: Like, everything on Spotify, I just love.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Like, it's just an amazing app with a lot of like beautiful and taunted people on it.
- 37:00SPEAKER_02: Can you access?
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: I'm not trying to like be super politically correct right now, but can you access all of this stuff for free?
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: I mean just with ads?
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: I don't have any ads.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: Are you do you pay$9.99 a month?
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm saying for those who don't pay$9.99 a month, can they access all of this?
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: Just with ads.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 37:19SPEAKER_02: I mean Can they?
- 37:20unknown: I think so.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: Why would people not pay?
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: It's like if you have Spotify or Apple Music, you pay a monthly fee.
- 37:26SPEAKER_02: I know, but like for someone that can't afford an extra thing, I don't want to get into all of it, but I'm saying if they give offered an extra fee, I'm just wondering.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm all about being woke.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: I ain't that woke, though.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: I'm just talking about Spotify.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: I could I could talk about Turks and Keikos if I wanted to.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: That doesn't mean everyone can afford to go there.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: I was just wondering.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: No, there's a monthly fee.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: I was just wondering if there's an app that, like, if it is one of those things where you don't have to pay, like, because for Netflix, you can't just watch Netflix without a subscription.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: I didn't know if that was amazing.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Wait, but Netflix could still be my ICU.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: It can.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: I I never said it couldn't be.
- 37:59SPEAKER_01: I was I was saying not you taking this argument off the pod.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: Oh no, I was like, can I go off camera?
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: Anyway, no, it's just a Spotify app.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm just saying, like, it's cool if you can do it free or not.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've never.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: Because with Netflix, okay.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: I've never experienced the free version.
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: Comment down in the comments and let us know.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: I've never experienced a free version.
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: Okay, amazing.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: No, not in a rude way.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: I just literally.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: I was just kidding.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: I was kidding.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: It's not, but go ahead.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: I'm just kidding.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: What's your ICU?
- 38:26SPEAKER_02: Mad.
- 38:27SPEAKER_02: My ICU.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: Are you mad?
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: No, go.
- 38:30SPEAKER_02: You're so mad.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 38:33SPEAKER_02: My ICU is.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: I don't want to do it now.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 38:37SPEAKER_02: Because you're mad.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: I am not mad.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Keep going.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: Why are you arguing with me on a podcast?
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: Go.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: Go.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: Talk about your food.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: That's what your ICU is.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: Food.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: Tell us what you've been beating to death, Lauren.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: Is it a Subway six inch sandwich?
- 39:10SPEAKER_01: With a perfect mix of Bajipole and South Sranch.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: Tell us.
- 39:21SPEAKER_02: My gosh, I was actually the free version of Spotify, so you you ruined both now.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: So that's the pod.
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: Go.
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: So mine is a six sandwich.
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: Subway sandwich.
- 39:37SPEAKER_02: So the other day I have been getting the same order from the Subway.
- 39:41SPEAKER_02: I've been getting the same.
- 39:43SPEAKER_02: I've been getting the same order from the Subway since I was five years old.
- 39:48SPEAKER_02: And my mom um commuted from Oklahoma City whenever I was in high school.
- 39:52SPEAKER_02: So my dad got Subway sandwich for us like three days.
- 39:55SPEAKER_02: Oh now I'm stuttering.
- 39:56SPEAKER_02: I'm stuttering up a storm.
- 39:58SPEAKER_02: I kind of want to be done.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: She got that stutter bug.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: I got that stutter bug.
- 40:01SPEAKER_02: So she went back and forth like three days a week, part of my senior year.
- 40:05SPEAKER_02: And my dad just took us a Subway three nights a week.
- 40:07SPEAKER_02: So I locked in my order for life, which is the like um spicy Italian on Italian herbs and cheese, toasted with American cheese.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: And I have not wavered from that.
- 40:19SPEAKER_02: Um they put five um slab like pieces of meat.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: I asked for three, and they are upset.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: I said, can you just put three?
- 40:27SPEAKER_02: I don't want to overload it with the meat.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: Um they always skip me on something, so like I kind of go back and forth.
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: We have this thing.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: And I asked for Chipotle Southwest like two times ago.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: And you know how like strict I am on stuff.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: And they grabbed the spicy sriracha, and um, I did not know until I bought it.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: Like I bit into it, and I like started bawling because it was just hot, blah, blah, blah.
- 40:51SPEAKER_02: Now I can't live without it.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: Because it's so good.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: It is so good.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: We should get those after this.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: Wait, we should get those after this.
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: So you need to mix the spicy, like Chipotle, or what is it?
- 41:02SPEAKER_02: Chipotle.
- 41:03SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I don't know.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: Uh, that with the spicy sriracha.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: And also, there's something about a subway that's in a Walmart.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: Our best friends at the Memorial Bixby.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: The Memorial Bixby Walmart subway.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: I love you.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: I love each and every one of you.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: You are a family, you are Ohana.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: Like, you're everything.
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: I would take a bullet for you.
- 41:20SPEAKER_02: And I love the man who owns the chain of them.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: He owns the chain.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: He's gonna let you know too.
- 41:24SPEAKER_02: He's amazing.
- 41:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he will.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: He's like, yeah, but my bag is up.
- 41:27SPEAKER_01: I'm a leader.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: He came in, he was like doing something, and I was like, hopefully you're treating your employees well and treating them well.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: And he's like, not only at this location, but many.
- 41:34SPEAKER_02: But many.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: He's like exactly matter of fact, all of them.
- 41:37SPEAKER_02: And I was like, okay, sponsor us then, like with your big talk.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and if I get married at the Walmart subway, mind your business.
- 41:42SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, quickly, we're gonna go to our we need to talks.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: We're gonna go quickly.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Um, the first one, which okay, if you need oh, also Emily, I saw your voice message.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: I didn't I didn't not respond to you on purpose.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: I just was busy.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: We're gonna make an official email, but that's like a at Truth Serum is coming.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: But for right now, it's truth serumpotifficial at gmail.com.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: Or DM us on Instagram.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: Dear Domin Lauren, my best friend started dating someone new and has completely disappeared.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: I'm happy for her, but she only texts me when she needs advice or wants to complain about him.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: The second they're good again, I don't exist.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: I don't want to be the jealous friend, but I'm starting to feel like I'm just her emotional support side character.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: Am I being dramatic?
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: Bad friend, male-centered, cut her off, don't ever talk to her again.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: I'm just kidding.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: No, but voice it to her, and if she doesn't change, be like, okay, well, I hope you enjoy your boyfriend.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: Don't call me when you're gonna be able to do it.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: I think you should just say, like, hey, um, I do have stuff going on in my life as well, and I do miss the times where we, you know, it was a collaborative friendship.
- 42:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:39SPEAKER_01: And now it's Because you can't be mad at anything you don't bring up.
- 42:41SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: Even though it should come naturally to this friend, you have to bring it up and see what she does.
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: Because there's probably times where that friend's like, oh, sorry, I'm being annoying about my boyfriend, like whatever.
- 42:50SPEAKER_02: And she probably feels awkward being in that position and be like, no, it's fine.
- 42:53SPEAKER_02: Like, I understand.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Um, so in that case, like you do need to address it and be like, hey, this is I do miss my friend.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: Like, I want a friendship with you outside of you and your man.
- 43:03SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm not dating you both.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: And if she doesn't respond well, just make out with her boyfriend.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, next.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna serum.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: I love both of you.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: My friend tells everyone she has this glamorous job and lifestyle, but I recently found out that she's been exaggerating almost everything.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: She lies about where she goes, who she knows, and how much money she makes.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: Do I call her out or let her live her fantasy?
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: I hate a liar.
- 43:23SPEAKER_02: I hate a liar too.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: But also, it is kind of turnt, like it's turnt.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: It's turnt.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: It's kind of turnt.
- 43:29SPEAKER_02: Honestly, I love her.
- 43:30SPEAKER_02: Like, we have to be honest.
- 43:31SPEAKER_02: Honestly, I love her.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: I love her.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: But you should just like passive aggressively be like, oh, like, do you have any photos of it?
- 43:36unknown: Yeah.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: And if she can't show it, like make her feel comfortable.
- 43:38SPEAKER_02: So is she not including her friend in on the room?
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: Including her best friend.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: She said, Do I call her out or let her live her fantasy?
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: So she hasn't called it out.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Her friend's not included.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: I know, but it's kind of seeming like her friend has this life online and then she's going back to you know what I mean?
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: But she's lying to the friend too.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: She's lying to this person.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: Are you sure?
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 43:59SPEAKER_02: Because I feel like
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Well that's splitting hairs, either way.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: No, because it's different.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Because if it is one of those things she's just annoyed that like her friend lives a completely life different life offline, like either way, do you call her out or let her keep doing it?
- 44:12SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, if she knows about it, like I don't know.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: I would I I don't know.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: I would I just hate a liar.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: Because if you're lying about that, what else are you lying about?
- 44:21SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 44:21SPEAKER_02: It is annoying behavior, but if you know about it off camera, you can just be like, girl, like, you know what I mean?
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: Like, can you just be I don't know, authentic?
- 44:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: But if she's lying to you, I would definitely like maybe in the friendship, you know what I mean?
- 44:34SPEAKER_02: Bring it up.
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: You can't be mad about anything you don't think.
- 44:36SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 44:37SPEAKER_01: But I'm just like, if you're lying about this, what else are you lying about?
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: Because it goes from an annoyance to a core issue.
- 44:42SPEAKER_02: Like it's an annoyance of like knowing how she there's a core issue here.
- 44:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this uh yeah.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: Dear Lauren and Dawn, my friend started getting popular on TikTok, and now every conversation feels like content.
- 44:52SPEAKER_01: She asked permission to film everything, tell stories like she's narrating a podcast, and seems more interested in how things look than actually enjoying them.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: Do I tell her she's annoying or support her?
- 45:02SPEAKER_02: Same.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: I hate that type of yeah.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: I hate that environment where everything feels like con like I was around someone recently in my life where just wanted to constantly film TikToks and posts, and I was just like, this is not like a like unless it's paying my bills, like back up.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:19SPEAKER_02: Like I would say we always say address it, but I think in this situation, just being like, hey, um, is there anything we could do that's just like the two of us that we don't need to document?
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:33SPEAKER_02: But I mean also don't make sure it's like one-on-one and you don't like snap on her in front of other friends and be like, what does everything need to be con?
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Because I hate when people address in front, like correcting in private.
- 45:43SPEAKER_02: You need to make sure you correct this behavior in private.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 45:46SPEAKER_01: Dear Truth Serum, my best friend finally broke up with her boyfriend, and everyone is devastated except me, me.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: I hated how she I hated how he treated her, and I feel like I can breathe again now that he is gone.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: Isn't wrong that I'm happy about something that hurt her?
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: That is me.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: The second a bad relationship ends, I we're throwing an Exodus dinner.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: We are doing PowerPoints about how awful they were.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: I like sorry, wipe your tears, love.
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: Make sure though, I will say this make sure that the relationship is actually over.
- 46:18SPEAKER_01: Cause it really never is, and that is always my problem.
- 46:20SPEAKER_01: They break up, and then I'm like, finally, they were awful, and they did this, da da da du da di.
- 46:25SPEAKER_01: And then two weeks go by and they're back together.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, oh, now you know everything.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: Now you're blocked by the boyfriend.
- 46:29SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:32SPEAKER_02: So it's just like you you have to make sure it's done done, which I would say I said seven, but maybe after three breakups, it might be done done.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: And then share.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: I've been blocked by many a boyfriend and many a girlfriend of my friends.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: You have.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: You got to make sure.
- 46:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, two more.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: My question is was I expecting too much from this friendship, or was it a sign that we weren't as close as I thought?
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: I had a friend I thought was becoming one of my closest friends.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: We traveled together, had a great connection, and I felt that we were genuinely close.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: Then I had a medical thing and soon after got a big promotion.
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: She never checked in after my medical thing or congratulated me.
- 47:07SPEAKER_01: Well, our mutual friends did.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: The next time she reached out, it was to tell me I owed her money from something we disagreed about.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: It wasn't the money that bothered me.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: It was that after being absent during two important moments of my life, that was the reason she called.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: When I confronted her about how hurt I was, she accused me of wanting to fight her.
- 47:27SPEAKER_02: Like physically?
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: Swinging.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: Is this Bad Girls Club?
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: I've never been in a fight in my life.
- 47:32SPEAKER_01: So that reaction completely caught me off guard and made me question the friendship even more.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: Baby, there is nothing to question.
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: That is a period.
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: This is not your friend at all.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: This is not your friend.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: But also, I hate having a debt.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: So if it's something that at any point you think you, if there's any part of you that thinks you should send her this money, send it to her.
- 47:50SPEAKER_01: But this is not your friend.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: But I also don't, I'm like, if I owe somebody money, you can't talk bad about them.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: So if you have a debt to be paid and you want to run that mouth, you better send them a Vemo.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: One type I had a falling out with somebody I owed money to was the worst.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: Took me like a year to talk bad about them.
- 48:07SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 48:07SPEAKER_02: Dom will snap out of something though.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Like he doesn't like owe me money, but one time we were fighting, and I think you did owe me money, and you're like, oh wait, I owe you money.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: No, literally, it's shut up.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: You bought me dinner the night before, and I was like, Oh, I'm done.
- 48:18unknown: Yeah.
- 48:19SPEAKER_01: Like I owe you$12.99.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Last one.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: My husband has a very unique job where his co-workers and where his co-workers and his families are extremely close.
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: It's due to the job nature.
- 48:33SPEAKER_01: It's very normal in this line of work for there to be drama.
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: It just hey, I'ma say this to every is that the camera I can look at?
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: Don't you ever submit anything to us again without some punctuation.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: I'm so pissed off as I read this submission.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: I can't even get through a sentence.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: Grow up.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: I'm so mad at whoever this is.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: I recently learned that one of the coworkers has a sex addiction and is always cheating on his partner.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: They have two kids, but I'm starting to suspect she knows as well.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: Do I say something or just leave it alone?
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: I would want to know, but at the same time, we only know each other because of our husband's jobs.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 49:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, stay out of people's marital businesses.
- 49:22SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 49:22SPEAKER_02: I will say, um yeah.
- 49:27SPEAKER_02: Do not ever, like literally ever put yourself in, unless you it's suspicion of abuse, something like that, then you cross like the line and go to the partner and talk about that.
- 49:38SPEAKER_02: That other than that, if you have suspicions of cheating, suspicions of anything, you should talk to your husband and be like, hey, if this is a big deal, like two both of us do that, and you should go talk to your friend and talk on the mic.
- 49:52SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: Hey, we're on a podcast.
- 49:54SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: Um, you need to go have your husband talk to his friend.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Because I'm the type of person where, for example, if I'm friends with two people and I find out one of them is cheating, what I do is I go to the person who's cheating and I say, Hey, you have like a day to tell him or her.
- 50:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: Like you need to go tell them right now.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: If you're close to both of them.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: But I think talking to your husband and getting on the same page and they're bringing it up to the guy, I think is smart.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: They're like, hey, we have seen this, you need to bring it up to your wife.
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Or be like, we cannot be close to you guys anymore.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: Like and then the wife's gonna be wondering why.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't this is a situation where this is amazing advice.
- 50:29SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it needs to be addressed with the husband, be like, hey, you have a certain time frame.
- 50:34SPEAKER_02: If not, we have to completely separate.
- 50:36SPEAKER_02: And with that, like, I don't know.
- 50:39SPEAKER_02: I just some people might be upset about this and be like, oh no, the the woman deserves no, or the man deserves to know.
- 50:44SPEAKER_02: Which I agree they do deserve to know, but you need to do it the right way.
- 50:46SPEAKER_02: But at the end of the day, nine times out of ten, unfortunately, or whatever, like people do end up working it out and staying together or doing something you do not want to like like the last advice you don't want to get too intertwined in someone else's business with that.
- 51:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: So tell your husband, tell your husband, tell your husband the other husband.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 51:06SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: I also would just like to say Angie Kay and her husband split up, and I'm really sad about it.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: Who?
- 51:13SPEAKER_01: Angie K from Her House House of Salt Lake City.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: That was a headline we didn't get to talk about.
- 51:17SPEAKER_01: We're not going to because we have nothing to say.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: And the House of Stasi trailer dropped.
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: She's getting her own own show, Stasi Schroeder.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's amazing.
- 51:24SPEAKER_02: The Queen of LA.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: And also last week when we brought up our favorite decomms, we both forgot to say what is literally our number one.
