- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 2: What's up, everybody?
- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome to move the sticks, DJ, Bucky, Rhett back with
- 0:11Speaker 1: you and Buck.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I don't know if you've.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Heard this or not, but there's a game. There's a
- 0:16Speaker 1: game taking place Thursday evening. It is between the Detroit
- 0:19Speaker 1: Lions the Kansas City Chiefs, and we're going to get
- 0:22Speaker 1: a chance to preview that as well as have a
- 0:25Speaker 1: little rookie draft, which I'll explain it a little bit.
- 0:27Speaker 1: But first of all, dude, how fired up are you
- 0:29Speaker 1: right now?
- 0:30Speaker 3: So fired up? So fired up for the regular season
- 0:32Speaker 3: to kick off. We talked about it for a long time.
- 0:34Speaker 3: We've seen everything went through the process. When it came
- 0:36Speaker 3: to the draft, we saw all the free agency being
- 0:37Speaker 3: added to the team, We got a chance to do
- 0:40Speaker 3: INSTID training camp live and all that. So we got
- 0:42Speaker 3: a beek'sweat a little bit when it came to what
- 0:45Speaker 3: the team's going to look like.
- 0:46Speaker 4: But now it's for real, and so I'm super excited.
- 0:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:49Speaker 6: I feel like as we look at this matchup and
- 0:51Speaker 6: we start to get kicked off and get excited about it,
- 0:54Speaker 6: excitement has kind of quickly turned to a certain level
- 0:57Speaker 6: of concern, right if you're a Kansas City Chiefs fan
- 1:00Speaker 6: with Chris Jones not in the building and as it stands,
- 1:04Speaker 6: not likely to play in this game until they get
- 1:07Speaker 6: that contract thing worked out.
- 1:08Speaker 5: So I think there's definitely.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Some uneasiness at minimum, which of course is buoyed by
- 1:15Speaker 6: the fact that you've got the best player in the
- 1:16Speaker 6: world a quarterback. On the other side, You're probably going
- 1:18Speaker 6: to score thirty points in this game, So kind of.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Make of that what you will, I guess stej Yeah,
- 1:23Speaker 1: they're not losing. You know, Look, Chris Jones a great player.
- 1:27Speaker 1: He's one of the elite defensive players in the league.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Buck did his top five d tackles put him at
- 1:31Speaker 1: number one on the list. But I think one of
- 1:33Speaker 1: the things you talk about the offense, which the offense
- 1:35Speaker 1: last year was the floor for this Chiefs offense, like
- 1:38Speaker 1: that last year was the rebuild, it was the teardown,
- 1:41Speaker 1: and that was the floor. They won the whole dang thing.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So they're going to be better offensively than they were
- 1:46Speaker 1: last year.
- 1:47Speaker 5: And then you look on.
- 1:48Speaker 1: The defensive side of the ball, Buck, I feel like
- 1:49Speaker 1: you got to give your buddy.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Some credit here.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Man, you talk about what's not there up front, but
- 1:54Speaker 1: look what your dude's doing in the back end with
- 1:56Speaker 1: all those young dbs, who again, that was the floor
- 1:58Speaker 1: for that group. They're all just getting comfortable under the
- 2:01Speaker 1: NFL and they won the whole thing.
- 2:03Speaker 2: That group in the secondary is going to be much
- 2:05Speaker 2: better this year.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Yeah, the group who will be much better.
- 2:08Speaker 3: David Married, my high school teammate's done a really good
- 2:10Speaker 3: job working with facts to get this team up and going.
- 2:13Speaker 3: They take Brian Cook and Sherman Duffy and all these
- 2:17Speaker 3: young guys, threw them on the fielding It worked.
- 2:20Speaker 4: They played well.
- 2:21Speaker 3: They didn't have these major busting coverage and they were
- 2:23Speaker 3: able to lock up and play man and man and
- 2:25Speaker 3: do the things that Steve Spagnulo likes to do. And
- 2:28Speaker 3: so another year in the system, the other full of
- 2:31Speaker 3: off season to work out some of the kings to
- 2:32Speaker 3: develop their games. They should be good, but without Chris Jones,
- 2:36Speaker 3: it still could be like a house of cards. Because
- 2:38Speaker 3: Chris Jones being there, you look at the numbers, pressure
- 2:41Speaker 3: rate up, sacks up all the production, the disrupt the
- 2:44Speaker 3: plays are. They're tied to number ninety five, and so
- 2:47Speaker 3: he needs to be in the building. He has to
- 2:49Speaker 3: be on the field for this defense to play well.
- 2:51Speaker 3: As much as I love the way that they perform,
- 2:53Speaker 3: I recognized the big guy up front sets the table
- 2:56Speaker 3: for everybody to eat.
- 2:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel like the game within the here and
- 3:00Speaker 6: it's certainly a benefit to Ben Johnson and the Lions
- 3:03Speaker 6: with Chris Jones' absence is how they can maximize Jamiir Gibbs.
- 3:08Speaker 6: I mean, we've heard the enthusiasm and the excitement about
- 3:11Speaker 6: all that he can bring to this offense in terms
- 3:13Speaker 6: of his skills. We know we saw it in the
- 3:15Speaker 6: past game at Alabama. It certainly sounds like they're going
- 3:18Speaker 6: to use him just about every way possible except for
- 3:21Speaker 6: the punting, which is what Dan Campbell said this week.
- 3:25Speaker 5: But I think that's really.
- 3:26Speaker 6: Exciting to go along with a Monroe Saint Brown, another
- 3:28Speaker 6: guy who's got great skills at.
- 3:30Speaker 5: The wide receiver position.
- 3:31Speaker 6: And I'm really excited to see what Samuel Porter brings
- 3:34Speaker 6: as a tight end. I know they're really excited about
- 3:36Speaker 6: that too. So offensively, I think this this Detroit Lions
- 3:40Speaker 6: team has the ability to be as explosive as any
- 3:42Speaker 6: offense at least in the NFC. And you know, I
- 3:45Speaker 6: don't know if they're up there with some of the
- 3:47Speaker 6: very best in the AFC yet, but I think this
- 3:49Speaker 6: is a really nice proving ground for this Detroit Lions
- 3:51Speaker 6: offense to see see them take the next step after
- 3:54Speaker 6: they absolutely lit it up in the second half of
- 3:56Speaker 6: the season last year.
- 3:57Speaker 2: DJ.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean to me, if they're going to
- 3:59Speaker 1: have a chance in this game, they got to finish drives.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I mean, I think they're going to move the ball
- 4:03Speaker 1: with all the weapons they have, and I am excited
- 4:05Speaker 1: to see the two rookies when you think about Gibbs
- 4:06Speaker 1: and Laporta and how they utilize them and what they
- 4:09Speaker 1: do with a very creative offensive play color. But moving
- 4:12Speaker 1: the ball between the twenties ain't going to get it
- 4:13Speaker 1: against the Chiefs. You better have a red zone plan
- 4:16Speaker 1: to finish drives. And then on the other side of
- 4:19Speaker 1: the ball, buck we talk about the ball not sailing
- 4:21Speaker 1: over your head. Anytime you play against Mahomes, you got
- 4:24Speaker 1: to stay plastered. You're going to have no shot clock
- 4:26Speaker 1: in your head down the field. And then offensively, don't
- 4:30Speaker 1: get or sorry when the defensive line wise, don't get
- 4:32Speaker 1: caught past the quarterback. So whatever you're doing rush wise,
- 4:35Speaker 1: you got to be disciplined with that if you get
- 4:37Speaker 1: too far up the field. If Mahomes climbs the pocket.
- 4:40Speaker 1: We say this every year and say it till he's
- 4:42Speaker 1: done playing. If he climbs the pocket and his shoulders
- 4:45Speaker 1: are square to the line of scrimmage, you're done because
- 4:47Speaker 1: he can access any area of the field if you
- 4:50Speaker 1: flush it. Even as crazy as his arm is, he's
- 4:53Speaker 1: still only going to be able to get the ball
- 4:54Speaker 1: to the middle of the field from the right sideline,
- 4:56Speaker 1: which is.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Incredible, but at least you've cut off some of the field.
- 5:00Speaker 1: If you let him climb up in and shoulders face
- 5:02Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage from sideline to sideline, the depth
- 5:05Speaker 1: of the field, you got no shot.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You had no shot, You got no chance. The guys remarkable.
- 5:10Speaker 3: He's a magician. He does it over and over and
- 5:13Speaker 3: over again. And so this is a test for everybody.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It's a test for the Lion's defense just see if
- 5:18Speaker 3: they can kind of keep him and check. But to me,
- 5:20Speaker 3: it's a test for the Kansas City Chiefs. Can they
- 5:23Speaker 3: continue to put more on Pat Mahomes with or without
- 5:25Speaker 3: whatever stars that may be playing without on defense? He's
- 5:29Speaker 3: proven that he can do it time and time again,
- 5:30Speaker 3: but at some point you do wonder the weight of
- 5:33Speaker 3: the world on his shoulders.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Can he keep delivering? If he can?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Is one of the differences between the great and the
- 5:39Speaker 3: really really elite gold jacket types, which is Patma's home
- 5:42Speaker 3: is already in that category right now.
- 5:44Speaker 6: And guys, I think two positives for the Chiefs here
- 5:48Speaker 6: on BO one, one on each side of the ball
- 5:49Speaker 6: in terms of health, Cadarius Tony being able to come
- 5:52Speaker 6: back and start practicing this week, and then Lugarius sneed
- 5:55Speaker 6: on the defensive side of the ball. Steed has kind
- 5:57Speaker 6: of quickly become one of their very best on the
- 6:00Speaker 6: defensive side and certainly in the secondary and so having
- 6:03Speaker 6: him available to deal with you know, all that the
- 6:05Speaker 6: Lions offense can present. And then on the other side,
- 6:08Speaker 6: I think Kadarius Tony, you know, after watching him kind
- 6:11Speaker 6: of get into some semblance of a rhythm end of season,
- 6:14Speaker 6: end of the postseason last year, I'm really curious to
- 6:17Speaker 6: see how, you know, Matt Naggy and Andy Reid kind
- 6:19Speaker 6: of game plan for this guy. And as long as
- 6:21Speaker 6: he is healthy enough to make an impact and have
- 6:24Speaker 6: some actual, you know, actual snaps and see what that
- 6:28Speaker 6: looks like. But man, I think that's going to be
- 6:30Speaker 6: really fun to watch in year two for Tony with
- 6:32Speaker 6: Patrick Mahomes.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I also think from the Lions standpoint, Jared Goff having
- 6:36Speaker 1: gone toe to toe know early in Patrick Mahomes' career
- 6:39Speaker 1: in that epic shootout between Shootouts and the Chiefs in
- 6:42Speaker 1: LA that was an all time great game. So I
- 6:45Speaker 1: think some of that off factor playing the Chiefs arrowhead
- 6:49Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes. I don't think that's going to be too
- 6:51Speaker 1: big for Jared Goff, a guy who's played in Super
- 6:53Speaker 1: Bowls and been in a big time shootout and come
- 6:55Speaker 1: out on the right end of it against Patrick Mahomes.
- 6:58Speaker 1: So that's going to be a a fun game to watch.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Cannot wait. So pumped that the NFL season is kicking
- 7:03Speaker 1: this thing off. Speaking of the NFL season, we're going
- 7:06Speaker 1: to take a quick break, guys when we come back.
- 7:09Speaker 1: We're doing something new this year. We're gonna do this
- 7:11Speaker 1: each and every week. We're gonna have a rookie draft.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Say what, I'll explain it. I'll explain the rules right
- 7:16Speaker 1: after this. All right, guys, I teased it. Let's get
- 7:23Speaker 1: into this thing. Because we've got a new idea. We've
- 7:25Speaker 1: always trying to track the rookies because we always felt
- 7:27Speaker 1: like we would talk about these guys in the run
- 7:29Speaker 1: up to the draft for months and months and months
- 7:31Speaker 1: path to the draft, you know, everything leading up to
- 7:34Speaker 1: the draft, the combine, the All Star Games, talking about
- 7:36Speaker 1: these guys, talking about these guys, they get drafted, and
- 7:38Speaker 1: then we wash our hands and we're done. I think
- 7:41Speaker 1: this is going to be fun to keep an eye
- 7:42Speaker 1: on these guys, but do it in a different way.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So this is how we're doing it. You guys ready,
- 7:45Speaker 1: we are going to do a We're going to do
- 7:47Speaker 1: a draft. Okay, So this is how this shakes out.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You've got to start three guys every week. So think
- 7:52Speaker 1: of a fantasy football league, which Rhett you know, loves
- 7:54Speaker 1: to talk about a lot. So you have to have
- 7:56Speaker 1: a quarterback, a running back, and a wide receiver slash
- 8:00Speaker 1: tight end.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So you got to start three of those guys.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And the way we're going to keep score here is
- 8:05Speaker 1: we're going to use like typical NFL dot Com standard
- 8:08Speaker 1: NFL dot Com fantasy scoring system. But the way it's
- 8:13Speaker 1: going to calculate whoever has the most So if we
- 8:15Speaker 1: each have a quarterback and say, you know, Bucky's guy
- 8:18Speaker 1: scores more points rets second, I'm third. Bucky's gonna get
- 8:22Speaker 1: three points for the quarterback that week. Rhett will get
- 8:26Speaker 1: one point for being in second place. The third place
- 8:29Speaker 1: I get zero points. And we'll do that for each
- 8:32Speaker 1: of these three positions. We'll keep track of the score
- 8:35Speaker 1: and we'll do that throughout the year and we'll see,
- 8:37Speaker 1: you know, how we get through it. But it's a
- 8:38Speaker 1: good way to keep track of these rookies and kind
- 8:40Speaker 1: of have some fun along the way. So we're gonna
- 8:43Speaker 1: do a We'll do a snake draft. You can take
- 8:45Speaker 1: them in any order you want, whatever position you want,
- 8:47Speaker 1: but you can only you know, you have to have
- 8:48Speaker 1: one of those three positions. So we'll go Bucky rehtt myself,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and then we'll snake it back the other way and
- 8:53Speaker 1: uh and Buck, you get the first pick in the inaugural.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Oh there we go move the sixth draft.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Sure, Oh, there's no pressure, this this is easy. I'm
- 9:02Speaker 3: gonna take be John Robinson with the number one overall pick.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I'm not gonna take a quarterback. I'm gonna go since
- 9:06Speaker 3: we're going fantasy style, I'm going b Jon Robinson to
- 9:09Speaker 3: beat everything for the Atlanta Falcons offense. They'll talk about
- 9:12Speaker 3: addressing though, like oh we got Kal Piss and we
- 9:14Speaker 3: have this big lonon and we can give it all
- 9:16Speaker 3: these people. But at the end of the day, it
- 9:18Speaker 3: starts and ends with B. John Robinson playing a big role.
- 9:21Speaker 3: That's why he's worthy of being the number one overall pick.
- 9:24Speaker 3: That's why he's my guy. That's your guys.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Absolutely happy to sit here in the two hole and
- 9:30Speaker 6: take Jamir Gibbs of the Detroit Lions because we know
- 9:33Speaker 6: he was the first round pick a couple of spots behind me.
- 9:35Speaker 6: John Robinson absolutely has seen the most hype and excitement
- 9:42Speaker 6: emanating from within that Detroit Lions building about this player
- 9:46Speaker 6: who they took with their first pick in the draft.
- 9:48Speaker 6: So run as a runner, as a receiver, as you know,
- 9:52Speaker 6: I don't know wherever else they can use him. Jamir
- 9:54Speaker 6: Gibbs is going to be a stud. So I got
- 9:57Speaker 6: him going this week, especially in the appsence. So Chris
- 10:00Speaker 6: Jones there for the Chiefs, all right, all right, I
- 10:03Speaker 6: see you.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Guys are doing here. Rhett's thinking there's a huge drop
- 10:06Speaker 1: off between the second and third running backs.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Because he had his choice.
- 10:10Speaker 1: You could have taken the you could have taken the
- 10:11Speaker 1: first quarterback, wide out slash tight end. But you're you're
- 10:16Speaker 1: playing strategy here and I can dig that. And I'm
- 10:18Speaker 1: going to tell you right now, I'm very confident in
- 10:20Speaker 1: the running back that I'm gonna get with the last
- 10:22Speaker 1: pick in this draft. Obviously, don't take one now because
- 10:24Speaker 1: you guys have taken the other two. And it's going
- 10:26Speaker 1: to be sweet, sweet music when but.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Watch the running back.
- 10:30Speaker 1: When he watches the running back that I take, and
- 10:33Speaker 1: watches him, and he's gonna be He's gonna be on
- 10:35Speaker 1: his team and I'm still gonna end up winning over
- 10:38Speaker 1: you guys with that running back. All right, I'm gonna
- 10:40Speaker 1: start off here with my first pick. I'm going to
- 10:42Speaker 1: go with the quarterback. And I think Bryce was the
- 10:47Speaker 1: top guy coming to the draft. I love Bryce Young.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I think he's going to emerge as the best quarterback.
- 10:52Speaker 1: But the rules are the rules. If we're playing standard
- 10:55Speaker 1: fantasy football rules, I'll take the guy who's going to
- 10:58Speaker 1: run the rock a.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Little bit here.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Give me Anthony and Richardson finding his way into the
- 11:03Speaker 1: end zone, maybe with his legs once or twice in
- 11:06Speaker 1: this ball game. So I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go
- 11:08Speaker 1: Anthony and Richardson with my first pick, and I get
- 11:11Speaker 1: to I get to come back with my second pick,
- 11:13Speaker 1: which means I get my first choice at quarterback. And
- 11:16Speaker 1: now I have an opportunity to take my first choice
- 11:19Speaker 1: of wide receiver or tight end. And this is this
- 11:22Speaker 1: is where it gets tricking.
- 11:24Speaker 5: M Because.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I love dalonk kay. I love Dalon k and Cave
- 11:31Speaker 2: love him.
- 11:31Speaker 4: I love him.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Bucky said it's gonna be easy for him. I just
- 11:36Speaker 1: can't do it with the tight end. Oh all right,
- 11:40Speaker 1: I'm down to two players. I'm down to two players.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm down to two guys, and it's between Zay Flowers
- 11:46Speaker 1: and Jordan Addison. For me, I think Jordan Addison is
- 11:51Speaker 1: gonna be really good number two. It's gonna be a
- 11:54Speaker 1: really good number two. I think Jay Flowers is gonna
- 11:57Speaker 1: be end up being the number one on the Baltimore Ravens.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna go say Flowers with my next pick.
- 12:04Speaker 5: Smart man.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Nice.
- 12:06Speaker 4: I mean this just just there we go.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Okay, So I'm back up then, right, I'm back up that.
- 12:19Speaker 6: So the question that I'm going to have here is
- 12:25Speaker 6: is do I think there's enough of a difference between
- 12:28Speaker 6: Bryce Young and c J. Stroud to feel like I
- 12:30Speaker 6: have to make a quarterback choice here. I guess we
- 12:33Speaker 6: could possibly include Clayton Tune, although I'm not ready to
- 12:36Speaker 6: make that pick may the Cardinals just yet. I don't
- 12:44Speaker 6: think there's enough difference between Bryce Young and c J.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Stroud.
- 12:48Speaker 6: So I'm going to be happy to wait on that
- 12:51Speaker 6: selection here. And I feel like I'm going to go
- 12:57Speaker 6: and I've already got my running back.
- 12:58Speaker 5: I need to get a receiver.
- 13:01Speaker 6: And I think this one I might go off the
- 13:03Speaker 6: I might go off the grid here a little bit with.
- 13:06Speaker 5: My uh, with my you know what? You know what? No, actually,
- 13:09Speaker 5: actually I can see it.
- 13:12Speaker 2: You want to go take down there?
- 13:13Speaker 4: He wants to go. He wants to go.
- 13:15Speaker 5: I do you want to do it?
- 13:17Speaker 6: But but I I just I feel like the Ravens
- 13:20Speaker 6: really good defense.
- 13:21Speaker 5: I'm not ready there for that. All Right, I'm gonna pull.
- 13:24Speaker 6: I'm gonna pull a little bit of a I'm gonna
- 13:27Speaker 6: pull a little bit of a reversal here. I am
- 13:30Speaker 6: gonna take Bryce Young. I'm gonna take Bryce Young, the
- 13:32Speaker 6: quarterback of the Panthers here. I think, yeah, I do
- 13:36Speaker 6: I think I because I feel confident in what I
- 13:38Speaker 6: got left for me with my last pick. So I'm
- 13:41Speaker 6: gonna go Bryce Young here. I feel confident in the
- 13:44Speaker 6: way that he can attack the Falcons defense more so
- 13:46Speaker 6: than I feel confident in the Texans ability to deal
- 13:48Speaker 6: with the Ravens defense right now with the young quarterback.
- 13:51Speaker 6: So give me Bryce Young with my second pick.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Bryce Young.
- 14:00Speaker 2: That's interesting. So now there was a lot of debates.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It was literally, it was literally there's a lot of
- 14:05Speaker 1: man war room and had a really big debate.
- 14:09Speaker 5: That's right.
- 14:10Speaker 3: The one thing I certainly hope in your real fantasy draft,
- 14:12Speaker 3: I hope there's a there's a timer in a buzzer
- 14:14Speaker 3: to ding you so you don't have to go through
- 14:16Speaker 3: all these conversations on the clock, and the fantasy draft
- 14:20Speaker 3: becomes an eight hour fantasy draft. So here here's the thing,
- 14:26Speaker 3: Jay Flowers being off the board, so it leaves me
- 14:28Speaker 3: with two guys. I have Jordan Addison, who will be
- 14:31Speaker 3: the number two in Minnesota, and Quinn Johnson from h
- 14:35Speaker 3: our La. Charges I'm gonna go with Addison from Minnesota
- 14:38Speaker 3: because all of that attention that goes to Justin Jefferson
- 14:41Speaker 3: just is going to leave Addison wide open. And I
- 14:43Speaker 3: know they have kJ Osbourne and they're trying to throw
- 14:46Speaker 3: it to some other guys, but Addison is going to
- 14:48Speaker 3: be there. He's going to be the beneficiary of all
- 14:52Speaker 3: the attention that goes to Justin Jefferson, and I think
- 14:55Speaker 3: they're dropping their debuting a new gritty. He certainly would
- 14:57Speaker 3: have an opportunity to be right there in the shadows
- 14:59Speaker 3: of the I'm doing a cool little touchdown dance once
- 15:02Speaker 3: Justin Jefferson doesn't, So that's my guy. So I have him,
- 15:05Speaker 3: and then what I go back again to pick up
- 15:07Speaker 3: a quarterback? Yeah, so the quarterback election is mine. Yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 3: because you guys are they've already got So I got
- 15:12Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson off the board that you took your quarterback?
- 15:15Speaker 5: Right, I took Bryce?
- 15:16Speaker 4: Did you take Bryce?
- 15:17Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 15:18Speaker 2: Right?
- 15:18Speaker 4: So look, I guess I'm I guess I'm left with
- 15:20Speaker 4: with c J. Stroud. I would go off the grid
- 15:23Speaker 4: and say I'm gonna go for a brock Purty type,
- 15:25Speaker 4: but I'm gonna go with CJ. Stroud.
- 15:26Speaker 3: I'm gonna play very conservative. I'm just gonna take the five.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Who would I'm just hit it right down the fairway.
- 15:33Speaker 4: So let's go with C. J. Stroud.
- 15:34Speaker 3: We may be behind on a handful of games, and
- 15:36Speaker 3: I'm hoping because we're behind, we want all the points
- 15:40Speaker 3: and all the garbage, George, because it all counts in
- 15:43Speaker 3: the fantasy world.
- 15:44Speaker 6: Yeah, and look, I think as it comes back to
- 15:47Speaker 6: me for the final pick here, DJ, you have one
- 15:50Speaker 6: left you you need one spot right right? Yeah? Okay,
- 15:54Speaker 6: So I need a receiver or a tight end. And
- 15:57Speaker 6: while I agree with you, I think Sam Laporter don't
- 16:00Speaker 6: be a nice choice here. I'm going to go off
- 16:02Speaker 6: the grid because I want to talk about targets. The
- 16:07Speaker 6: Los Angeles Rams are likely going to be without Cooper
- 16:11Speaker 6: Cup here. And if you've been following with the Rams,
- 16:13Speaker 6: have been putting.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Down I know what you're doing here.
- 16:16Speaker 6: I am going Pooka Nakua, the wide receiver from BYU,
- 16:21Speaker 6: as my rook here. I think he has impressed there.
- 16:24Speaker 6: And if you follow and you look at what what
- 16:27Speaker 6: Sean McVay did, the amount of targets he committed to
- 16:29Speaker 6: Cooper Cup as a rookie, even to Ben Scronic early
- 16:32Speaker 6: in his career, finding different ways to get those guys,
- 16:35Speaker 6: the football guys that could do a lot of different things.
- 16:37Speaker 6: I think that in the absence of high level targets
- 16:40Speaker 6: outside of Cooper Cup, Pooka.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Is going to get a ton of them, and I
- 16:42Speaker 5: think he's going to come up with a big day.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yep, that's this was what this draft is all about. See,
- 16:47Speaker 1: we're not just going to see the same names. By
- 16:49Speaker 1: the way, right, he was going to take he was
- 16:51Speaker 1: going to take Clayton Tuone. He literally talked himself out
- 16:53Speaker 1: of it at the last he did.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Personnel director was in his ear.
- 16:58Speaker 2: It was.
- 17:01Speaker 3: The guy that was in my ear was dtr Like
- 17:03Speaker 3: they like, he's not gonna maybe is like a Piko,
- 17:09Speaker 3: But I didn't take him.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I took c J. Stroud.
- 17:12Speaker 4: We comfortable, We loved our Picky's I got all.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Along, all right, all right, that's what you're saying in
- 17:17Speaker 1: the press conference there. So this is what we've got, Buck,
- 17:20Speaker 1: He's got Jon Robinson. Uh, You've got Jordan Addison and
- 17:24Speaker 1: c J.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Stroud. Rhett has Gifts, Bryce young.
- 17:28Speaker 1: And and the boldest pick pookin Nakula, which I like
- 17:31Speaker 1: a little off the grid. As you mentioned, that's your squad.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I've got Anthony Richardson. I've got Zay Flowers, which I
- 17:37Speaker 1: feel great about those two. This is the one that's
- 17:42Speaker 1: taking it home and I I talked about it a
- 17:44Speaker 1: little bit earlier. I teased that Buck's going to be
- 17:46Speaker 1: sitting there in the stadium. He's gonna be watching Tank.
- 17:49Speaker 1: He's gonna be watching the human big get across the
- 17:54Speaker 1: goal line, and he's gonna have to feign interest and
- 17:58Speaker 1: excitement like he's so pumped up.
- 18:00Speaker 2: But in the back of his.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Mind, he's going to go DJ just beat me in
- 18:03Speaker 1: this rookie Fantasy league because I didn't take my own guy. Uh,
- 18:09Speaker 1: it's gonna be sweet. I'm gonna be I'm gonna be
- 18:11Speaker 1: at the Chargers game, following along on my my laptop
- 18:14Speaker 1: seeing what's happening. Uh. And then when when Tank gets
- 18:17Speaker 1: in the end zone, I'm gonna send both you guys
- 18:18Speaker 1: a text and I'm gonna I thought for sure you
- 18:21Speaker 1: were to go because you're going to see him in person. Yeah,
- 18:25Speaker 1: But now to me a Chane home run hitter. Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 1: But I think, to me, if we're talking about standard
- 18:31Speaker 1: fantasy rules, you got to get the in zone, and
- 18:32Speaker 1: I think I think Tank's gonna be able to get
- 18:35Speaker 1: that accomplished.
- 18:35Speaker 6: Maybe by the way, just so you know NFL dot
- 18:38Speaker 6: Com Standard Fantasy rules are PPR leagues. Now it's all
- 18:42Speaker 6: it's all PPR. It's points per reception. Okay, just so
- 18:45Speaker 6: we know.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how many balls tanks going to catch,
- 18:49Speaker 1: but I just needed to get an.
- 18:51Speaker 2: That's that's our squad.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Every week, we'll keep track, we'll be able to next week,
- 18:56Speaker 1: we'll be able to recap what happened the week before,
- 18:59Speaker 1: and then we'll have the draft for the next week
- 19:00Speaker 1: and it will be a way to kind of keep
- 19:02Speaker 1: track of these rookies.
- 19:02Speaker 2: But rtt bold call there with pookin the coupa, I
- 19:04Speaker 2: dig that.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Anything else you guys want to jump into before we
- 19:08Speaker 1: get out of.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Here, Let's fire this thing up, man, let's break the
- 19:11Speaker 6: season up. Let's get all I.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Believe again, I believe that went off to grid. I
- 19:15Speaker 3: can't believe it. I don't regret that. I think he's
- 19:18Speaker 3: regret I think he's no regret it. By the end
- 19:20Speaker 3: of the day, were looking like I'm stuck with this
- 19:22Speaker 3: team that I have. He's gonna want to redo a draft,
- 19:24Speaker 3: He's wanting to pick up some trust, and then you
- 19:26Speaker 3: and I gonna.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Have to talk about that. I worry about that. For
- 19:29Speaker 4: ret we get.
- 19:30Speaker 2: A fresh buck.
- 19:31Speaker 5: We get a fresh group next week.
- 19:32Speaker 2: And this is only weekly. This is weekly, so we
- 19:35Speaker 2: come back with whole new guys. You're not worried to
- 19:37Speaker 2: these guys. You're dating them. You're dating them for a.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Week and no Dynasty League here. That's it.
- 19:43Speaker 4: I'm about to go. We'll see if he gets any points.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll see. Anyways, we'll be back. We'll recap that thing. Uh.
- 19:51Speaker 1: We're looking forward to this game though, Chiefs and the
- 19:54Speaker 1: Lions will have some feedback for you on that one
- 19:56Speaker 1: as well. Appreciate you guys hanging with us today. Plenty
- 19:59Speaker 1: more on your way again. I think starting next week
