- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on your things. Uh huh, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you are listening to the voice, Come
- 0:08Speaker 2: on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got
- 0:11Speaker 2: a radio show. I thank God for it every day.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I try to remember that too, you know. I try
- 0:17Speaker 2: to remember to be grateful. I think gratitude is one
- 0:22Speaker 2: of the things that helps keep me grounded. You can
- 0:25Speaker 2: go as far as you want in life. If you
- 0:26Speaker 2: don't mind who gets the credit. Well, that applies to
- 0:30Speaker 2: God too, don't it. I mean, you know, really, if
- 0:33Speaker 2: you don't mind who gets the credit. I'm surrounded by
- 0:38Speaker 2: very competent people. I'm surrounded by a lot of people
- 0:41Speaker 2: who work hard on their jobs, on their career, who
- 0:46Speaker 2: are dedicated employees and also just dedicated to their families
- 0:52Speaker 2: and you know, dedicated to their own set of aspirations.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I don't expect anybody to work for me forever. I
- 1:00Speaker 2: always look at my job opportunities as stepping stones because
- 1:04Speaker 2: I want everyone around me really to aspire to be more.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's really the way I am. I'm not
- 1:11Speaker 2: any other way. I'm not trying to hold you to
- 1:14Speaker 2: this position, you know, tell you there's no room for growth,
- 1:18Speaker 2: any of that But even though I'm surrounded by these people,
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'm grateful that God placed them in my path.
- 1:29Speaker 1: In my life.
- 1:31Speaker 2: But in my mind, in my spirit, in everything in me,
- 1:38Speaker 2: the credit still belongs to God. I'm sorry, The credit
- 1:43Speaker 2: still belongs to God. See if you would, just for
- 1:49Speaker 2: a moment, stop thinking about yourself, just for a moment.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I know that's hard, but just for a moment, stop
- 1:57Speaker 2: thinking about yourself. That maybe you are who you are
- 2:02Speaker 2: because God is who he is.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Maybe that's the case.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Have you ever considered that that's the strongest possibility I
- 2:11Speaker 2: can give to you? You know, how do you think
- 2:15Speaker 2: you the one that made it through? How you think
- 2:18Speaker 2: you the one after all of the ignorant decisions we
- 2:23Speaker 2: have made? And oh my goodness, let's all be honest.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Ain't we made some crazy decisions I'm talking about man,
- 2:30Speaker 2: I have made decisions so adverse to my destiny and career,
- 2:36Speaker 2: my promises. I've made some decisions man, knowingly you hear me,
- 2:42Speaker 2: knowingly do something wrong, And in spite of all that,
- 2:46Speaker 2: I'm still here standing. Okay, come on now, really, really,
- 2:52Speaker 2: all the dirt you'd bene done, everybody done dirt, all
- 2:57Speaker 2: the mistakes you've made, you in the position you in
- 3:00Speaker 2: today because of what? Because you all that? Because you
- 3:05Speaker 2: work harder than anybody else. Look, I work hard, I'll
- 3:09Speaker 2: be the I'll tell you in a minute.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I work hard.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But I don't think I'm the hardest working person out there.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure somebody done work way harder than I have.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So okay, so you work hard? Okay, cool? I got
- 3:22Speaker 2: all that. But man, what about his grace and his mercy?
- 3:29Speaker 2: What about his favor? How many times, man you done
- 3:34Speaker 2: relied on that even when you ain't know you was
- 3:36Speaker 2: relying on it? How many times man God done shown
- 3:39Speaker 2: you mercy? You ain't even deserve it? Do you know
- 3:42Speaker 2: how many things I've done wrong? I just ain't get
- 3:45Speaker 2: caught at it?
- 3:48Speaker 1: You know. Let me see how simple I can be here.
- 3:51Speaker 1: You speed, you jaywall.
- 3:55Speaker 2: You lie to police when you get pulled over that
- 3:58Speaker 2: you wasn't speed, and you go to according to argue
- 4:01Speaker 2: you wasn't speeding when you was. You make U turns.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I'm just doing traffic violations. Now let's get off traffic
- 4:11Speaker 2: for a second. Let's get on human violations. You talk
- 4:15Speaker 2: about people when you're not supposed to. You indulge yourself
- 4:20Speaker 2: in gossip even when you don't really have all the facts.
- 4:24Speaker 2: You pass judgment, You lust for people that don't belong
- 4:30Speaker 2: to you. You say things to people that you're not
- 4:34Speaker 2: supposed to say. So look, all of us, we all
- 4:41Speaker 2: were all guilty. Now see I'm not saying you do
- 4:45Speaker 2: all of that, but I'm saying I'm pretty sure I
- 4:47Speaker 2: hit you somewhere in there, just somewhere in there. You
- 4:50Speaker 2: don't lie before you know you lied recently. I mean,
- 4:55Speaker 2: come on, And I'm just saying so with all that
- 4:57Speaker 2: in mind. See, I'm just looking at the little thing
- 5:00Speaker 2: we do that we don't get busted for. Not to
- 5:02Speaker 2: mention the chips you stole when you was a kid
- 5:04Speaker 2: and nobody caught you.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Well, that elevated, didn't it.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And some of y'all just didn't stop stealing, And next
- 5:10Speaker 2: thing you know, you was in a car. Now you're
- 5:12Speaker 2: sitting somewhere you don't want to be sitting because of
- 5:15Speaker 2: a decision you made. But through his grace and mercy,
- 5:18Speaker 2: couldn't it have been worse?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Though? Without his grace and mercy, could not it have
- 5:22Speaker 1: been worse?
- 5:23Speaker 2: I know two dudes that got caught in the garage
- 5:26Speaker 2: one time trying to break in somebody's house, and the
- 5:28Speaker 2: person in the house they broke into just happened to
- 5:31Speaker 2: have a gun and held them in the garage, caught
- 5:35Speaker 2: them and held them to the garage to the police car.
- 5:38Speaker 2: That's Grace and Mercy right there, because they had all
- 5:41Speaker 2: full right to shoot these two people, but they didn't.
- 5:44Speaker 2: They're Grace and Mercy. See, all of us have benefited
- 5:48Speaker 2: from his grace and mercy. All of us have done
- 5:51Speaker 2: a wrong, committed a sin, broken the law, and somehow,
- 5:54Speaker 2: through his grace and mercy, got by, doing drugs, buying drugs,
- 5:58Speaker 2: slanging drugs, doing some got by, jumped on somebody for
- 6:02Speaker 2: no reason, got by, you know.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So see how you figure with all that.
- 6:09Speaker 2: That can go on in your life. And then hold on,
- 6:11Speaker 2: let me throw a couple more at you. You can't
- 6:13Speaker 2: wake yourself up in the morning, mister big shot. You
- 6:19Speaker 2: don't have the ability to control the breaths that you take. Really,
- 6:24Speaker 2: mister big shot, really, let's get real basic with it now.
- 6:28Speaker 1: You can't wake yourself up in the morning.
- 6:32Speaker 2: That's favor, that's Grace, that's Mercy, that's him allowing you
- 6:40Speaker 2: to wake up, just hoping we get it right. You
- 6:44Speaker 2: know God spared me through all the dirt I was doing,
- 6:47Speaker 2: just hoping one day? Man, can you just straighten up
- 6:50Speaker 2: a little bit? When I finally straightened up, and I'm
- 6:54Speaker 2: gonna just say it straightened up a little bit.
- 6:56Speaker 1: See, I ain't straightened up all the way.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Say I ain't gonna sit here and tell you that
- 7:00Speaker 2: I just straightened up a little bit. He started blessing me,
- 7:03Speaker 2: So the more blessings I gotta start going. Man, maybe
- 7:05Speaker 2: I'll try straighten up a little bit more. So I
- 7:06Speaker 2: straighten up a little bit more. I still got a
- 7:09Speaker 2: long way to go, but I'm straighter than I was now.
- 7:12Speaker 2: When people judging me and as they will, and they
- 7:14Speaker 2: do because that ain't right, but they do, and I
- 7:17Speaker 2: ain't walking just the way they walk, then here come
- 7:19Speaker 2: the criticism.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I get it all the time.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Stop wanting credit all the time, and give out some
- 7:25Speaker 2: credit where credit is due instead of having somebody patting
- 7:28Speaker 2: you on your back all the time. Why don't you
- 7:30Speaker 2: tell God, tell people it was really was God, man,
- 7:33Speaker 2: that you don't really know how you made it? That
- 7:35Speaker 2: really man, you have no explanation for your success or
- 7:38Speaker 2: you have no explanation why you still exist in today.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Why don't you tell somebody it was God today. Don't
- 7:44Speaker 2: be ashamed. It's the truth, ain't it. I mean, really, man,
- 7:48Speaker 2: let's give God some credit here. Give God the credit
- 7:51Speaker 2: and the glory and the honor. And like that plaque said,
- 7:54Speaker 2: you can go as far as you want in life
- 7:56Speaker 2: if you don't mind who gets the credit?
- 7:58Speaker 1: All right here list Eve Harvey Morning Show
