- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's Best Music is A ninety four nine.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And welcome to another episode of Scotti and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:08Speaker 2: This has to be titled the Worst Date of All Time.
- 0:12Speaker 2: I'm excited for this. I've been waiting all morning to
- 0:14Speaker 2: finally get the information on what it went down.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Maybe at the worst date of all time, maybe the
- 0:18Speaker 3: best teases. I crashed out in the middle of a
- 0:20Speaker 3: date because I felt so bad.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I felt so bad.
- 0:22Speaker 3: It felt in the moment like it was such a
- 0:24Speaker 3: bad date, even though at nindsight it wasn't.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But I had a literal crash out.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Well before we get into that, because I haven't heard
- 0:31Speaker 2: the details and now we get to talk about it.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I also revealed the full video of me dancing with Nana.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I did see that, Yeah, I saw it. I wish
- 0:42Speaker 1: I hadn't.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I wish I because Okay on Instagram, I kind of
- 0:46Speaker 2: teased up, like, oh my gosh, I danced with my
- 0:48Speaker 2: best friend's our grandmother at his wedding. Because I did.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I told him that I was going to dance with
- 0:53Speaker 2: his grandmother. It's something I do. I have this thing
- 0:55Speaker 2: where it's like I don't know me and older women
- 0:56Speaker 2: we get along very.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Well, will you get along or do you just go
- 1:00Speaker 3: out of your way to hit on older women.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I like making sure that people feel seen, and especially
- 1:06Speaker 2: at a wedding and you're gonna have someone's grandmother there
- 1:09Speaker 2: who's not necessarily gonna be up dancing and so not
- 1:11Speaker 2: necessarily all in the activities. But I told her, I
- 1:14Speaker 2: was like, look, I'm gonna get your grandma to dance.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And he's like, you could try, and I said bet.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And so I put up part one of the video,
- 1:21Speaker 2: and I guess I didn't realize that I forgot a
- 1:24Speaker 2: lot of the things that I did. Part one of
- 1:26Speaker 2: the video. You just see I kind of put on
- 1:28Speaker 2: a couple magic mike moves, or I take my tie
- 1:31Speaker 2: and I wrap it around her. And she's ninety, y'all.
- 1:34Speaker 2: She has her walker, So I take the tie and
- 1:38Speaker 2: I wrap it around her, and I'm kind of just
- 1:40Speaker 2: like moving my body close to her, and that's when
- 1:43Speaker 2: the video cuts off. I was like, Okay, it wasn't
- 1:44Speaker 2: that bad part one, and joyles, if you want part two,
- 1:47Speaker 2: let me know people wanted part two.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:49Speaker 2: I finally got the video back from my buddy, said
- 1:51Speaker 2: I was you on a better angle? When you want
- 1:52Speaker 2: the whole thing. Watch and I watched in every moment
- 1:56Speaker 2: of it. I cringed because this is in my sober mindset.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Now I see the tie move and I'm like, oh, Scott,
- 2:03Speaker 2: that's really good. And then I flip my ass around
- 2:06Speaker 2: and I start shaking my ass on her and I
- 2:09Speaker 2: spank Nana, who's ninety years old, with my tie.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Nana has osteoporosis. You have to you gotta be careful
- 2:17Speaker 3: with Nana. She's breakable.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I sat there and I cringed so hard.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I says, Scott, you know what, there's a line, And
- 2:22Speaker 2: in that video, I crossed the dang line. Not only
- 2:26Speaker 2: I spank my ass with the tie, I spank her
- 2:29Speaker 2: ass with the tie, and then she spanks me with
- 2:31Speaker 2: her hands. I posted the video on my Instagram for Nana.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I love that Nana is still a freaking old age.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I love that she went along with it because at
- 2:39Speaker 2: the end of it, because I was turned around for
- 2:40Speaker 2: a majority of it shaking that thing, I didn't see
- 2:43Speaker 2: until I saw the video that she was smiling the
- 2:45Speaker 2: whole time. She was laughing. She was patting my booty,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and so I turned around. I grabbed her hand and
- 2:51Speaker 2: I kissed it and I said thank you, and she
- 2:53Speaker 2: had the best tie.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Thank you for the spank, Nana, thank you for.
- 2:56Speaker 2: That nice naughty moment. So I'm glad that she had
- 2:59Speaker 2: a good tie with it. But the video is up now.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I was thinking about this because as out of radio,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I do other things like MC and I speak, and
- 3:07Speaker 2: I think this, you know, it might come back to
- 3:09Speaker 2: haunt me in the future as I'm going out for
- 3:11Speaker 2: other gigs and people are going to go through my
- 3:14Speaker 2: Instagram and see, like, oh, let's see what kind of
- 3:16Speaker 2: speaking materially does.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Or maybe they'll pay more omit.
- 3:19Speaker 2: If that's the case, then I'll do some more spak.
- 3:21Speaker 1: He's like that right, it's cheat.
- 3:23Speaker 2: If that works in my favor, then what is it?
- 3:26Speaker 2: God's speed?
- 3:27Speaker 3: You just have to have like old women set you
- 3:28Speaker 3: up on what is it called your speaking events? Oh yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 3: find find the women that are above eighty who are
- 3:35Speaker 3: still running these things.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I do a whole dare to dream conference with eighty
- 3:38Speaker 2: year old Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 1: They're like, I'm daring a dream. I've seen the dream
- 3:41Speaker 1: and I'm gonna dare.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'll go speak at the retirement homes. I mean, it
- 3:45Speaker 2: was such a good time. The full video is up though,
- 3:47Speaker 2: if you do want to take a look, enjoy, because
- 3:50Speaker 2: I'm sure I've had Instagram take down my stuff before.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Like, what, what's one video that you posted that Instagram
- 3:56Speaker 3: took down?
- 3:56Speaker 2: You're okay? Well, if you're new to me, if like
- 3:58Speaker 2: you've listened to me for a long time, you're still
- 4:00Speaker 2: kind of getting used to me. Just just know I
- 4:02Speaker 2: did a lot of weird things in the beginning of
- 4:04Speaker 2: my career to make sure that I I guess climbed
- 4:07Speaker 2: up the ladder one of the posts that got taken down.
- 4:10Speaker 2: You remember where Britney Spears was posting a lot of
- 4:14Speaker 2: scandalous pictures and videos.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Like the knife videos, like.
- 4:17Speaker 2: The nude videos and the nude pictures. So did you.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Post naked or like almost naked?
- 4:22Speaker 2: So Britney Spears put up a post once where she
- 4:25Speaker 2: was standing in front of the camera completely naked. The
- 4:27Speaker 2: only thing covering her was she had her hands over
- 4:30Speaker 2: her tatas and a heart emoji over Huh.
- 4:33Speaker 3: So you put a heart emoji over your penos to
- 4:37Speaker 3: climb this funny how everyone has different corporate ladders. I'm like,
- 4:40Speaker 3: you did this to get ahead? Was there somebody in
- 4:43Speaker 3: their cubicle right now going.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I was alone in the studio. I had nothing else
- 4:46Speaker 2: that I was like, all right, Britney Spears is trending.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I need to do something that's on the same thing.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I've also done this where I've recreated like Tom Brady.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Tom Brady did a post where he was posing in
- 4:55Speaker 2: his underwear, so I did the whole one. I did
- 4:58Speaker 2: the same exact look of everything in the studio right
- 5:01Speaker 2: next door.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That's so funny.
- 5:02Speaker 2: The Britney Spears one got taken down immediately.
- 5:05Speaker 3: It's funny how like when you're in radio, when you're
- 5:07Speaker 3: at the low point at the totem pole, like when
- 5:09Speaker 3: you really haven't gotten there, they're like, Okay, be as
- 5:11Speaker 3: unprofessional as possible. And then when you get to like
- 5:14Speaker 3: more of a host standpoint, they're like, okay, you said
- 5:16Speaker 3: ask too many times on the podcast. We're no longer
- 5:19Speaker 3: brand friendly.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, the things that you could find on
- 5:22Speaker 2: the internet. I don't even know how to take any
- 5:24Speaker 2: of them down because they just live forever. Yeah, from
- 5:26Speaker 2: the beginning days of trying to do a show. Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 2: and those they're going to come back to hot me.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I know, my kids one day we'll find them. I
- 5:32Speaker 2: know eventually, people like and I go and speak at places,
- 5:34Speaker 2: They're going to be like, oh is this you when
- 5:36Speaker 2: you were twenty four? I was trying to make it.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Do not judge me so funny anecdote that I've never
- 5:40Speaker 3: talked about for the birt Show, but right before I joined,
- 5:42Speaker 3: for some reason, they I got asked to submit some
- 5:46Speaker 3: specific content, things that they wanted to either repost or
- 5:49Speaker 3: repurpose from the earlier Birch Show days, and one that
- 5:53Speaker 3: I remember just being like really sussed out about. And
- 5:56Speaker 3: I mean, this would love because obviously I have a
- 5:58Speaker 3: great relationship with all my former coworkers. Obviously I'm coming
- 6:01Speaker 3: into a new environment. It's a radio show. I don't
- 6:03Speaker 3: really know what I'm getting into. I don't really know
- 6:05Speaker 3: what the expectation is for a young girl on the
- 6:08Speaker 3: show is, and by young girl, I mean like a
- 6:09Speaker 3: woman in her twenties on the show is. But I
- 6:11Speaker 3: remember years ago Britney Spears had posted some kind of
- 6:15Speaker 3: photo and a towel or whatever, so I guess everybody
- 6:17Speaker 3: on the cast had already done this challenge. But this
- 6:21Speaker 3: is like a Britney Spears thing from like, let's say
- 6:23Speaker 3: twenty nineteen. Let's say that was the year. I remember
- 6:26Speaker 3: it was like years or years ago, but they wanted
- 6:29Speaker 3: me to submit a photo for that Britney Spears challenge
- 6:33Speaker 3: in a towel, and I remember thinking this seems a
- 6:36Speaker 3: little this seems a little awful, little random, and so
- 6:39Speaker 3: I don't think I ever took the photo because I
- 6:41Speaker 3: remember thinking what are they gonna do with this challenge
- 6:44Speaker 3: that had been from years ago, and so like I
- 6:47Speaker 3: had gotten submitted everybody's photos and so I don't know
- 6:50Speaker 3: if they were gonna do like a bit or if
- 6:52Speaker 3: they were gonna make something out of it.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But I remember getting that email and being like, yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm not doing that.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I'm too new to this. You're not gonna get a photo.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I don't know that.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I trust y'all yet, Like I don't know where this
- 7:01Speaker 3: photo of me and a towel is going to be,
- 7:03Speaker 3: Like they said it. You know, it can be funny,
- 7:04Speaker 3: it could be rebealing, it can be sexy. But I
- 7:06Speaker 3: was like, yeah, it's not going to exist.
- 7:08Speaker 2: They're not going to have that on me on the internet. Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 2: good on you for saying. I didn't say no to
- 7:12Speaker 2: any of my ridiculous ideas. I did literally everything, and
- 7:16Speaker 2: those photos still live. Yeah, and now my family got
- 7:18Speaker 2: to see every single one of them, So to them,
- 7:20Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but it paid off. Now over the weekend,
- 7:25Speaker 2: you you and I obviously went to the watch party
- 7:27Speaker 2: on Friday and we got to kind of catch up
- 7:29Speaker 2: a little bit on the first date. So, like, let's
- 7:32Speaker 2: do a recap of how hinge has been so far?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Okay, really not great?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Well, you did go on a date Friday day.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Thursday or no, was it Friday?
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:42Speaker 1: It was Friday and Saturday.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Busy girl.
- 7:45Speaker 3: I know.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Well, because for me, I'm like, well I'm already. If
- 7:47Speaker 1: I'm already.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Going out, then I'm like, okay, I'll weasel in a date.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Then I like that method instead of getting rid of
- 7:53Speaker 2: a whole day. If you set aside, and I know
- 7:55Speaker 2: a lot of people do this, but if you set
- 7:57Speaker 2: aside an entire Saturday night and like I'm going on date,
- 8:00Speaker 2: you get already, You go drive out to locate, you
- 8:03Speaker 2: cancel plans with friends only to go on that date
- 8:06Speaker 2: and it be a dud. Yeah, that's where it could
- 8:08Speaker 2: even be more frustrating than what this might be.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, there's nothing worse than leaving a date where
- 8:12Speaker 3: you're not thrilled with the experience and then you just
- 8:14Speaker 3: go home and you're like sad and you're like, oh,
- 8:16Speaker 3: I just got ready for hours for this for Jason
- 8:19Speaker 3: just to ghost me. And also I do think a
- 8:22Speaker 3: it gives you a stopping point for the date. And
- 8:23Speaker 3: I do think sometimes it's hard to know, like Okay,
- 8:26Speaker 3: it's going fine, but like at what point do I
- 8:29Speaker 3: say I'm gonna leave? But if you have plans after
- 8:31Speaker 3: you go, oh, I have to meet my friends at
- 8:32Speaker 3: seven thirty, like lovely meeting you and it doesn't feel
- 8:34Speaker 3: like a weird thing. But for some reason, both guys
- 8:37Speaker 3: I went out with on Friday and Saturday, and maybe
- 8:38Speaker 3: it was because the weekend both of them had plans
- 8:40Speaker 3: afterwards that I got invited to. And I was like,
- 8:45Speaker 3: I have plans, I have places to be, I'm busy, off,
- 8:47Speaker 3: I have things to do. You get me for thirty
- 8:48Speaker 3: minutes to forty five if it's really good, I was, yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 3: I feel like a call girl. I'm like you, your
- 8:52Speaker 3: ninety minutes are up.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I got pay up by my drink, by my dinner.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: On Friday, this was with it was it Jay the
- 8:59Speaker 2: guy that it looked like his photos were very modelly,
- 9:04Speaker 2: very attractive. Yes, but kind of got the feeling. I'm
- 9:07Speaker 2: gonna be honest, I was like, could this be an
- 9:08Speaker 2: AI profile because it was very bland.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very clear.
- 9:12Speaker 3: A photo shoot was done and he looked great and
- 9:15Speaker 3: said photo shoot. But I was like, we are your friends,
- 9:18Speaker 3: do you.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Have a life? Like do you just have zero photos
- 9:21Speaker 1: of me?
- 9:22Speaker 3: And so you know you want to have empathy because
- 9:24Speaker 3: I understand, like I come on here and I'm constantly
- 9:26Speaker 3: like I want men to try hard and to really
- 9:29Speaker 3: put the same effort that women put in their profiles,
- 9:31Speaker 3: and so clearly there's effort, but I'm like, it's the
- 9:33Speaker 3: wrong effort.
- 9:35Speaker 1: The effort in a different way.
- 9:36Speaker 2: You missed the mark. Well, I mean there's a couple
- 9:38Speaker 2: of things that it's like, post a photo with a
- 9:40Speaker 2: dog with your mom. Yeah, friends like just so we
- 9:43Speaker 2: know you're not gonna kill me, a.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Vacation photo, a photo of you playing sports or something.
- 9:49Speaker 3: But if it's just you, like not smiling around your
- 9:51Speaker 3: apartment complex, then I'm like, okay, this is this feels sinister.
- 9:54Speaker 3: So I went out with him on Friday and then
- 9:56Speaker 3: I went out with a guy who asked me out
- 9:57Speaker 3: on Friday on Saturday, and yeah, I was just trying.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I was just trying to rip the band aid off.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I'm like, it's been a minute, let's see what I'm missing.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And you date.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I mean, you ripped that bandai right off, and that's
- 10:06Speaker 2: what you want the days to look like, to be like,
- 10:07Speaker 2: all right, at least I'm gonna try Friday. How was it?
- 10:11Speaker 2: Because I'm glad at least you're alive. I literally texted Abby.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I was like, hey, you you were alive. Just making
- 10:15Speaker 2: sure after the date you good.
- 10:17Speaker 3: So this is the hard thing about dating is you
- 10:19Speaker 3: can't really talk about it in real time. I did
- 10:22Speaker 3: go out with him. I had a solid time. He
- 10:25Speaker 3: texted me on Saturday and he asked me out again,
- 10:28Speaker 3: and that's just all I'm where I'm gonna leave it. Okay,
- 10:30Speaker 3: I will update you in the future. That's where I'm
- 10:32Speaker 3: gonna leave it.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Got it all right, But I.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Will update you on the date that I was on
- 10:35Speaker 3: in Saturday where I literally crashed out.
- 10:37Speaker 2: So he this is like a new person. We don't
- 10:39Speaker 2: even know.
- 10:39Speaker 3: This is C. I have not introduced C on the
- 10:41Speaker 3: pub podcast because C asked me out on Friday, I think,
- 10:44Speaker 3: and I think I was literally on the date with Jai,
- 10:46Speaker 3: and I was like, sure, I'll go out of you
- 10:47Speaker 3: because I already had plans for Saturday, so I was like,
- 10:49Speaker 3: I'll go out with you and it won't be like
- 10:51Speaker 3: a whole thing. So anyway, C immediately asked me out.
- 10:54Speaker 3: He's not making me do much a small talk, which
- 10:56Speaker 3: is my favorite thing. The quickest way to turn me
- 10:58Speaker 3: on is don't talk to me, stay silent. And so
- 11:02Speaker 3: he asked me out and he said, do you want
- 11:04Speaker 3: to go to Embird? And that immediately was a little
- 11:08Speaker 3: bit of a beige flag. There's nothing wrong with m
- 11:10Speaker 3: Bird and the way I've described it to people because
- 11:12Speaker 3: I know we have a big Atlanta audience. Mbird is
- 11:15Speaker 3: kind of like the Ladybird of Tampa. Ladybird in Atlanta
- 11:19Speaker 3: is a probably the most popular bar for the twenty
- 11:23Speaker 3: five to thirty five crowd. It's outside, it's on a patio,
- 11:27Speaker 3: it's chill, but it can get a little bit rowdy.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I think Mbird probably turns more clubby.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Than Oh yeah, you get like eleven o'clock, it's yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 2: you can't hear each other.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So eleven pm a m Bird. It's more of like
- 11:37Speaker 1: a club.
- 11:38Speaker 3: And so when he asked me out for like seven
- 11:40Speaker 3: thirty on a Saturday, I was like, I don't know
- 11:42Speaker 3: that this is the vibe, but whatever.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I mean.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I've never been to mbird, so I'm like, maybe it
- 11:46Speaker 3: is more of a date spot.
- 11:48Speaker 1: So I show up.
- 11:50Speaker 3: We're both running a little bit late, and so my
- 11:53Speaker 3: m O when it comes to showing up on dates
- 11:55Speaker 3: is I like to be five minutes late. For a
- 11:57Speaker 3: couple of reasons. The main reason is I want him
- 11:59Speaker 3: to get there first. I want him to get there first,
- 12:02Speaker 3: suss out the vibes, find a bar seat, have him
- 12:05Speaker 3: have a second to like kind of settle in so
- 12:07Speaker 3: then he can chill out for a second and then
- 12:09Speaker 3: I can just show up.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It makes things go so much.
- 12:12Speaker 3: More smooth, rather than doing the stance of like, oh,
- 12:14Speaker 3: I'm here and you're here, and oh, we got to
- 12:16Speaker 3: find a bar seat and just like makes things very uncomfortable.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Whereas if you have a second to figure out the environment,
- 12:21Speaker 3: I can show up and we can.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Both just be good yeah, and you can just walk
- 12:24Speaker 2: right in right to where you're supposed to go. I
- 12:26Speaker 2: always found it would be a little hard to be,
- 12:28Speaker 2: like you kind of know what each other look like,
- 12:29Speaker 2: but then you're doing that thing where you're like looking around.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, see asked me out to Embird. So we're both
- 12:35Speaker 3: running late. I show up and I text him. I said, hey,
- 12:37Speaker 3: just a heads up, like, I've never been to m Bird,
- 12:38Speaker 3: so give me a second to find it. This is
- 12:41Speaker 3: my way again. I'm running a couple of minutes late.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I'm trying to initiate conscientious conversation and also just kind
- 12:47Speaker 3: of sus out is he here?
- 12:48Speaker 2: Yeah? Make sure is that ghosting me on the date? Yes?
- 12:51Speaker 3: Well, because we he had texted me before that he
- 12:53Speaker 3: was running a little bit late, and so then I
- 12:54Speaker 3: decided to run even more late so that I would
- 12:56Speaker 3: show up late. And he hadn't texted me. So I'm like,
- 13:01Speaker 3: I don't think he's here yet, So I had to
- 13:03Speaker 3: go like hide in.
- 13:03Speaker 1: A corner at Armature Works.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Armature Works is kind of like Pont City Market of
- 13:07Speaker 3: Tampa for those who live in Atlanta.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It's like the food Hall of Tampa.
- 13:10Speaker 3: So I'm and Armature Works hiding out and he goes, oh,
- 13:13Speaker 3: I'm also running late, and I've also never been to
- 13:15Speaker 3: Embird so I might need a second too. And that's
- 13:18Speaker 3: what really pissed me off, because, as I explained before,
- 13:22Speaker 3: I like to do this I show up late thing
- 13:24Speaker 3: because I need you to figure out the date environment
- 13:27Speaker 3: so you can settle in and then I can just
- 13:30Speaker 3: show up and we can both just get the state started.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, like get the details all ironed out so you
- 13:34Speaker 2: can just walk in and just be the graceful person
- 13:37Speaker 2: that you will.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Yes, I can appear like the graceful person that I'm not,
- 13:40Speaker 3: because then I immediately get that text and immediately get
- 13:42Speaker 3: so flustered and kind of pissed because I'm like, a,
- 13:45Speaker 3: this feels a little bit like incompetency, Like Okay, you
- 13:48Speaker 3: didn't figure out, like you don't know where this is.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Like you you're taking me to a place that you've
- 13:53Speaker 3: never been, and I already know this is not a
- 13:54Speaker 3: good date vibe. So now I'm kind of mad that
- 13:56Speaker 3: you didn't even really do the research. So anyway, text
- 14:00Speaker 3: me that he's looking for it, and so he's like,
- 14:02Speaker 3: I'm in this courtyard area. I'm like, the Embert is
- 14:05Speaker 3: not in a courtyard. What are you doing my guy?
- 14:07Speaker 3: It's on a rooftop. Why are you in a courtyard.
- 14:09Speaker 3: So finally I just decided to just go up to Embert.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I'm literally texting my friends. I'm like, should I just leave?
- 14:13Speaker 3: Like I literally was gonna stand this guy up because
- 14:15Speaker 3: he's not figuring out where it is.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I'm like, ask for directions, dude.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Yeah. And I think for some people like that might
- 14:20Speaker 2: sound like, oh my gosh, av you're being so like
- 14:23Speaker 2: I guess, let me just use this phrase for it,
- 14:26Speaker 2: like picky. But it's like no, because these are little
- 14:28Speaker 2: tiny things, yes that If you can't get these little
- 14:31Speaker 2: tiny things right, how does that look? Down the line?
- 14:34Speaker 3: They're showing me small character correct small characteristics about you,
- 14:39Speaker 3: and a turnoff for me is not being conscientious and
- 14:43Speaker 3: just like if you don't, you haven't really ironed out
- 14:45Speaker 3: the plan. That's a huge, huge, huge turn off for me,
- 14:48Speaker 3: especially for a first date, because this is the most
- 14:50Speaker 3: play you're ever going to be to.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Me, very very true, like this is where the bar
- 14:53Speaker 2: is set.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yes, so this is where the bar is being set.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So I show up, I see him and he immediately
- 14:58Speaker 3: like says hello, and like the vibes are already kind
- 15:01Speaker 3: of off, like he seems like he's really stressed.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Out.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I'm really stressed out, and I'm just kind of like,
- 15:05Speaker 3: where do we go? Because we're in this courtyard and like,
- 15:07Speaker 3: where's embird?
- 15:08Speaker 1: You don't know where it is? I don't know where
- 15:09Speaker 1: it is. Where are we going to have the state?
- 15:11Speaker 3: So it turns out Mbird it's under construction, so we
- 15:13Speaker 3: can't even go to Mbird, and so now we have
- 15:15Speaker 3: to scramble and find a place to Like I'm like,
- 15:17Speaker 3: I don't know if is there a bar here? Is
- 15:18Speaker 3: there another restaurant?
- 15:19Speaker 1: I don't know. So we're He's.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Literally like high tailing it throughout this entire thing, so
- 15:23Speaker 3: I can I can tell he's stressed out, and so
- 15:25Speaker 3: I feel kind of bad, but I'm also kind of
- 15:26Speaker 3: pissed because I'm like, this.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Is your fault.
- 15:28Speaker 2: You could have this figured.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Out, you could have this figured out. Research, little research.
- 15:32Speaker 3: So he's like high tailing it trying to find a place,
- 15:34Speaker 3: and I'm pointing out like literally every barstool in this place,
- 15:36Speaker 3: I'm like, what about that one?
- 15:36Speaker 1: What about that one?
- 15:37Speaker 3: Like let's just sit down, like let me get in,
- 15:39Speaker 3: let me get out. So finally we go to this
- 15:40Speaker 3: restaurants called Steelboch, which ironically I think what if our
- 15:43Speaker 3: sales girls was also there at the same time. I'm like, calckling,
- 15:46Speaker 3: I'm like, was this the one date night spot on Saturday?
- 15:48Speaker 1: I think Sydney was there.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Oh, I still see that.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I saw her post that. I was like, wait, I
- 15:51Speaker 1: was there.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Fun they probably saw your Like, oh my god, they
- 15:54Speaker 2: probably did.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I mean, I need to ask her in the sales media.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'm like, did you see me on a date at Steelbock?
- 15:59Speaker 3: But I didn't see them anyway, steel Buck is this
- 16:01Speaker 3: It's actually really nice, Like he should have just taken
- 16:03Speaker 3: me there to begin with. It's kind of moody, it's
- 16:05Speaker 3: very dainty, very romantic.
- 16:07Speaker 1: It reeks of steak.
- 16:08Speaker 3: It's a steakhouse, but I love steak, so it's fine.
- 16:10Speaker 3: So we sit down a lot of meat in the air,
- 16:12Speaker 3: not enough, and so we're sitting there having this date
- 16:15Speaker 3: and it's just not going well, Like it's just awkward.
- 16:19Speaker 1: He's very stiff.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I'm like cracking jokes with the bartender. I'm trying to
- 16:22Speaker 3: lighten the mood, and it's just like there's just clearly
- 16:26Speaker 3: not a vibe.
- 16:27Speaker 1: We're not hitting it off.
- 16:28Speaker 3: And then I just start to about forty five minutes
- 16:32Speaker 3: in after I've ordered and finished my second glass of wine,
- 16:35Speaker 3: I start to crash out a little bit. I start
- 16:37Speaker 3: to sit there across from this guy, and I start
- 16:39Speaker 3: to crash out about like the fact that I have
- 16:42Speaker 3: to keep doing this. I'm like, I have to keep
- 16:44Speaker 3: sitting here and making dumb small talk with this guy
- 16:47Speaker 3: who has zero personality or is not really showing me
- 16:50Speaker 3: any personality. And maybe he's nervous, Like that's totally fine,
- 16:54Speaker 3: but like we're not twenty two, like we're on Earth.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I'm toy nine, he's like thirty one. I think, like
- 16:59Speaker 3: we're this is not your first did dude. And I'm
- 17:02Speaker 3: also noticing that his eyes are a little bloodshot, So
- 17:04Speaker 3: I'm like, is he high? He seems a little out
- 17:06Speaker 3: of it, and so I'm sort of watching him kind
- 17:10Speaker 3: of give me the bare minimum conversation, like he's trying,
- 17:14Speaker 3: but it's just really dry and bland.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Nothing's clicking. I'm sure, no conversations.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah, there's just no chemistry.
- 17:20Speaker 3: And every time he goes to take a sip of
- 17:22Speaker 3: his drink, so he got a moscummule, He's taking a
- 17:24Speaker 3: sip of his drink and I know this.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Will give you the egg.
- 17:27Speaker 3: He takes a sip and he is, and then every
- 17:30Speaker 3: time he's done sipping it, he goes every single time gosh,
- 17:36Speaker 3: and so a I'm like getting the itck because I'm
- 17:38Speaker 3: like you.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Then I'm also like, is his mouth dry from the weed?
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yes? This guy just stone out of his mind.
- 17:46Speaker 1: She's just stone.
- 17:47Speaker 3: And so as I'm having this crash out where I'm like,
- 17:50Speaker 3: I can't believe I keep making all the small talk.
- 17:52Speaker 3: I'm just so bored for it of all this I hate.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm I can't believe I've found somebody.
- 17:55Speaker 1: By now I'm just so pissed. I look at him
- 17:57Speaker 1: and I go, are you high?
- 17:59Speaker 3: Oh?
- 17:59Speaker 2: You really are? Yeah?
- 18:00Speaker 1: I asked him. I was like, are you full?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Because I'm really getting the vibe that this guy might
- 18:05Speaker 3: be high, Like that's that's the vibe. Like it's not
- 18:08Speaker 3: that he's not present, it's just like I don't feel
- 18:11Speaker 3: like he's fully there, and he goes, no, no, no,
- 18:14Speaker 3: Like I actually like, I haven't done weed in a
- 18:15Speaker 3: couple of years, Like my contacts are just kind of
- 18:17Speaker 3: like bugging my eyes. And I was like, then I
- 18:19Speaker 3: started to feel like an asshole because now I'm sitting
- 18:21Speaker 3: there I'm like, oh my god, like what if I'm
- 18:23Speaker 3: his first date after a breakup? And like he was
- 18:26Speaker 3: crying and I've just I've called out his bloodshot eyes.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I think you'll be okay.
- 18:30Speaker 3: So then I started to feel bad and I'm trying
- 18:33Speaker 3: to carry the conversation but like really, I'm like, he,
- 18:35Speaker 3: I know this isn't going anywhere. He should know this
- 18:37Speaker 3: is going nowhere, Like let's get out of here. And
- 18:41Speaker 3: then about twenty minutes before the date ends, he goes,
- 18:44Speaker 3: are you hungry?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Like did you eat?
- 18:46Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, yeah, no, I had food before this,
- 18:47Speaker 3: and he goes, yeah, I eat before this too, but
- 18:50Speaker 3: like the steak smells really good, like we should order
- 18:52Speaker 3: a steak. I'm like, well, if you order a steak,
- 18:54Speaker 3: like I'll have a bite, but like, don't feel like
- 18:55Speaker 3: you need to order a steak on my behalf.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And then he goes, well if I order his steak,
- 19:01Speaker 1: can I feed it to you?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Holy shit? What?
- 19:05Speaker 1: And I look at him and I look at.
- 19:06Speaker 3: This man who has just said these words, And I
- 19:08Speaker 3: look at him in the eyes and I go, that's
- 19:11Speaker 3: crazy thing to say to me.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I said, that's insane behavior.
- 19:18Speaker 3: How poorly this date is going, what about the vibe?
- 19:22Speaker 1: Says I want you to feed me beef.
- 19:26Speaker 3: At this bar, And I said, I'll eat the steak,
- 19:30Speaker 3: but you're not gonna feed it to me like a baby.
- 19:33Speaker 3: And I understand that in his mind he's probably getting
- 19:35Speaker 3: tipsy and is thinking this is like a sexy thing,
- 19:37Speaker 3: but it just.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Was any part of the conversation sexy to that point.
- 19:40Speaker 1: There was no sexiness whatsoever.
- 19:43Speaker 3: And then I just start getting mad because then I
- 19:44Speaker 3: just started going on this rumination rant in my head
- 19:46Speaker 3: of like what pisses me off about first dates is
- 19:49Speaker 3: like I hate having to be the one to break
- 19:53Speaker 3: things off, Like I wish like we could both just
- 19:56Speaker 3: recognize the vibes that we're both not having a good time. Yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't think either of us is envisioning
- 20:04Speaker 3: this is our future partner after the way that this
- 20:05Speaker 3: state is going. But I think guys before they sleep
- 20:09Speaker 3: with you, like they just get so excited that a
- 20:12Speaker 3: girl they find attractive is sitting in front of them
- 20:14Speaker 3: that they'll just do whatever it takes to just keep
- 20:16Speaker 3: you in front of them, even if they're.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Not having a good time.
- 20:19Speaker 3: And so it's like he put all of his effort
- 20:22Speaker 3: into the latter half of this date, because I'm like, well,
- 20:24Speaker 3: cause he's probably thinking, well, I just invited her to
- 20:27Speaker 3: this thing with my friends. Maybe she can come hang
- 20:28Speaker 3: out with me and my friends, and these guys can
- 20:30Speaker 3: be like, wow, how did you pull this girl or whatever,
- 20:33Speaker 3: or maybe she'll sleep with me afterwards, maybe we can
- 20:35Speaker 3: hook up. And so I can see all the effort
- 20:37Speaker 3: coming in in like the last twenty minutes. But I'm like, dude,
- 20:39Speaker 3: it is the fourth quarter. Like you're not even remotely
- 20:41Speaker 3: in the game anymore.
- 20:42Speaker 2: You're so behind the ball right now.
- 20:45Speaker 3: And also I had planned, so I was like, dude,
- 20:46Speaker 3: I gotta go meet my friends at the Sapphire, so
- 20:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna head out.
- 20:49Speaker 1: So we walk out, He's like, can I drive?
- 20:51Speaker 3: And I'm like no, no, no, Like I've seen you
- 20:52Speaker 3: drink two Moscow mules and you also seem a little high,
- 20:55Speaker 3: so that's a no.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And then again he's pulling out all the stuffs.
- 20:57Speaker 3: He goes, I'm getting the vibe you didn't have a
- 20:58Speaker 3: great time, and I have to look at his face
- 21:00Speaker 3: and lie and go, no, no.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I had a great time. Thanks for taking me out.
- 21:03Speaker 2: And you know, you're really nice. I mean, it's so
- 21:05Speaker 2: hard because I think that goes back to the like
- 21:07Speaker 2: this is where I always find it because I asked
- 21:09Speaker 2: you this before. I don't know if it was on
- 21:10Speaker 2: the podcast, but like, would you leave a date in
- 21:12Speaker 2: the middle of it? And I don't think you said no.
- 21:15Speaker 3: No, cause I'm just it's tough putting yourself out there,
- 21:18Speaker 3: and I understand. Like he also said that he had
- 21:20Speaker 3: just moved here a couple of months ago, and so
- 21:22Speaker 3: it was nice that he came from Saint Pete over
- 21:24Speaker 3: to Tampa, and he said he asked his friends where
- 21:27Speaker 3: they should go on a date and they said m Bird.
- 21:28Speaker 3: So like empathy for him there, but like, I don't know,
- 21:32Speaker 3: I think I'm just kind of I'm just really burnt
- 21:34Speaker 3: out from going on these dates that just are not great.
- 21:37Speaker 3: And I think especially the ones I've been on in
- 21:39Speaker 3: Tampa have been like especially not great. That I'm just
- 21:43Speaker 3: really as I've said before, I'm just really burned out
- 21:45Speaker 3: from the first date, second date thing. And I hate
- 21:48Speaker 3: having to break off things with guys that if I
- 21:51Speaker 3: had met them in a bar, we probably wouldn't have
- 21:52Speaker 3: gone out with to begin with. But I have to
- 21:54Speaker 3: go out on this first meeting with them, because otherwise
- 21:57Speaker 3: no one else is gonna ask me out. Because I'm
- 21:59Speaker 3: living my life and it's not like people are just
- 22:01Speaker 3: flinging themselves at me, or actually, take that back, they
- 22:03Speaker 3: are flinging themselves at me, and they are saying, when
- 22:05Speaker 3: you go out with me, and then they don't go
- 22:07Speaker 3: out with me, mm hmm.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So this is all things except for the actual thing.
- 22:11Speaker 1: This is my only chance for romance and it sucks.
- 22:14Speaker 2: So that's when when did you text? Like your your
- 22:17Speaker 2: friends and everything that were.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Like, oh yeah, I was in the middle.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I texted my family group chat after my second glass
- 22:22Speaker 3: of wine, and I feel bad because I think he
- 22:23Speaker 3: may have seen the text I texted my family. I said,
- 22:26Speaker 3: I am on one of the worst states I've ever
- 22:29Speaker 3: been on.
- 22:29Speaker 1: That's how I felt like.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I'm really feeling very I know this is dramatic, but
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'm like really like angry at this part of my life.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Like absolutely, I'm.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Just really really angry that I'm gonna be thirty next
- 22:40Speaker 3: year and I've never had a boyfriend. I'm really mad
- 22:42Speaker 3: about that.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And it's really upsetting that a lot of these guys
- 22:45Speaker 2: can do a lot of the basic things yeah, Like
- 22:47Speaker 2: I think that part goes to it. Like I think
- 22:48Speaker 2: the boyfriend part is of course frustrating, because it's to
- 22:52Speaker 2: have someone that can actually just I don't know, like
- 22:54Speaker 2: just do the basics, live up to a standard, put
- 22:58Speaker 2: a little effort in, be a little thoughtful. Don't try
- 23:00Speaker 2: to just wing it and then fall to the ground
- 23:03Speaker 2: and then try to pick yourself back up in the
- 23:05Speaker 2: fourth quarter.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I know, because you want to get laid.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, none of this is like, none of
- 23:09Speaker 3: us is even remotely close to it.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Like, I don't even want to kiss you.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Oh God, did he try to put on any moves
- 23:15Speaker 2: like that at the end?
- 23:16Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, Okay, Because I.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Heard some crazy stories this weekend about people doing that.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I'm like, it's just the audacity of some people. And
- 23:23Speaker 2: I'm not going to just classify it as all men,
- 23:24Speaker 2: but I mean a lot of guys do it. Well.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Women certainly aren't doing it. I know from my experience.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I know, but I think it's just so crazy that
- 23:31Speaker 2: some guys could do. Let's say that whole day goes
- 23:33Speaker 2: by and then he's still like, oh yeah, let's go
- 23:35Speaker 2: hang out. What where is the part of the brain
- 23:39Speaker 2: that's saying this is awkward. I don't feel comfortable. I
- 23:41Speaker 2: don't think this is going to be a match. That
- 23:43Speaker 2: part that's speaking up, it's designed for that exact reason.
- 23:47Speaker 3: I sometimes wonder if men just don't have the social
- 23:50Speaker 3: cues in their head where I'm sitting here going this
- 23:52Speaker 3: guy's on my boyfriend. I'm not his girlfriend. I don't
- 23:54Speaker 3: even think he wants me to deep down to be
- 23:56Speaker 3: his girlfriend. I think guys just think, well, she's talking
- 24:01Speaker 3: to me and she's pretty, so therefore she must be
- 24:03Speaker 3: into me, do you know what I mean?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Sometimes yes, I mean guys could go as far as
- 24:07Speaker 2: if you look at them wrong in our head, right,
- 24:11Speaker 2: we in our head go, oh my god, there into us.
- 24:14Speaker 1: There's a chance for.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Like a second, if you look at us for a second,
- 24:17Speaker 2: we're like, oh yeah, we.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Got one, all right, Look what I it's crazy, That's
- 24:23Speaker 3: what I mean.
- 24:23Speaker 1: When he said did you have a good time?
- 24:26Speaker 3: Or I'm getting the vibe that you didn't have a
- 24:27Speaker 3: good time, I literally wanted to ask him did you
- 24:29Speaker 3: have a good time? And I'm like, you know what,
- 24:30Speaker 3: maybe he did have a good time, because I'm a
- 24:32Speaker 3: delight it is.
- 24:35Speaker 2: I think it's the guys are well a lot of
- 24:37Speaker 2: guys their standards are so low. Yeah, and it's like
- 24:40Speaker 2: women have proper standards or higher standards where you should
- 24:44Speaker 2: and so finding this middle ground is wild. Yeah, But
- 24:47Speaker 2: that's why a lot of guys, That's why I've talked
- 24:49Speaker 2: to so many friends. I'm like, Oh, you don't got
- 24:51Speaker 2: to be a genius. You just got to be somebody
- 24:53Speaker 2: that's willing to put an effort. And I don't like
- 24:55Speaker 2: to say like that's just something I learned probably too
- 24:58Speaker 2: late in life too, but that I've tried to be
- 25:01Speaker 2: really conscious of of, Like, oh, yes, this is the

- 26:48Speaker 2: saw was so cool, so complimentary of what the podcast
- 26:52Speaker 2: has done, and they brought up a cool thing of
- 26:54Speaker 2: us starting to talk about some trending topics in pop
- 26:56Speaker 2: culture on top of our lives.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, our top so our top listen to episode
- 27:02Speaker 3: is the birthday episode, but this one under that is
- 27:04Speaker 3: off campus episode.
- 27:05Speaker 2: There you go.
- 27:06Speaker 3: So you got to watch Love Island because I need
- 27:07Speaker 3: someone to talk to you about Love Island.
- 27:08Speaker 2: That show might just be I'm gonna say this and
- 27:12Speaker 2: for my boy brain, it just seems so dumb, like
- 27:14Speaker 2: I have a sometimes I like dumb humor. Uh huh,
- 27:17Speaker 2: But I don't know if I can get behind how
- 27:18Speaker 2: stupid Love Island.
- 27:19Speaker 3: It is so dumb, So I'll have to figure out
- 27:21Speaker 3: a way to incorporate it because I don't know that.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like if you watch it with
- 27:25Speaker 3: your girlfriend, you guys are gonna get past the first
- 27:26Speaker 3: five minutes before you just go like ham.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Like of watching the show or on each other.
- 27:31Speaker 1: On each other.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Oh, I will say that show is like those people
- 27:34Speaker 2: are so hot. It's stupid.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It's overly freaked out.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I'm like, you guys are fake, it looks ai. Yeah,
- 27:40Speaker 2: I might try to watch episode one just to see
- 27:42Speaker 2: because maybe I'm just being too judgy. I don't think
- 27:45Speaker 2: I am that it's freaky.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But yeah, we're two weeks in. You don't have time
- 27:48Speaker 1: to catch up.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Okay, I'll just get a little caught up on Love
- 27:50Speaker 2: Island stuff, but we will start talking a little bit
- 27:52Speaker 2: of the trending things going on as well. So thank
