- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh good mobil, Oh good mobil.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Something about game day postseason, isn't it. It's just now
- 0:09Speaker 2: it's gonna drive some people crazy, like Wes or my
- 0:14Speaker 2: buddy John. They won't even be able to breathe or
- 0:17Speaker 2: function over the weekend as the Dogs and Revs head
- 0:22Speaker 2: to the super Regional.
- 0:24Speaker 1: H It's National Cheese Day.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You know those pork rynd nachos that we love at
- 0:28Speaker 2: Martin's and Livingston.
- 0:30Speaker 1: How good are they? Yeah, so they've got the pork bite.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Nachos, But then they got the the pork ryd nachos too,
- 0:39Speaker 2: so they've got a couple of different things going on there.
- 0:42Speaker 2: National Cheese Day. Can't beat it. I love nachos. That
- 0:47Speaker 2: What is it about nachos at a dive bar with
- 0:51Speaker 2: a buddy and an ice cold beer? I mean you've
- 0:56Speaker 2: got an ice cold budwise er, I mean ice cold
- 0:58Speaker 2: on the table or ice cold clob ultra and a
- 1:01Speaker 2: hot plate of nachos hit the table from your local
- 1:06Speaker 2: die bar and grill.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Does it get any better?
- 1:10Speaker 2: And you're with a friend or significant other whatever, and
- 1:13Speaker 2: you're like, this is good. That's the simplicity of you know,
- 1:19Speaker 2: but that's the Grand Slam also of life too, right,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I mean, just a simple ice cold beer and fantastic
- 1:26Speaker 2: loaded up nachos. Of course, when Wendy makes clean nachos
- 1:31Speaker 2: at the house with Mississippi State Bulldog cheese eat them
- 1:35Speaker 2: or jalapena, that's a win too. But when you're in
- 1:39Speaker 2: that local dive bar and grill, that's beautiful, no doubt
- 1:41Speaker 2: about it.

- 2:25Speaker 2: He's on his way to Auburn, Alabama as Old Miss
- 2:28Speaker 2: will play Auburn Mike bi Anko against Butch Thompson. Holie,
- 2:32Speaker 2: Mary olzab here we go, Hunter Elliott, how many postseason
- 2:37Speaker 2: games has he been in? Good Grief Hooks was unbelievable
- 2:41Speaker 2: on Friday night, as was Calhoun robertson Ole Miss on
- 2:45Speaker 2: the backside, the bullpen looks.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Really, really good.
- 2:48Speaker 2: They need to get another bat heated up. So we'll
- 2:51Speaker 2: see what plays out this weekend. But we welcome in
- 2:53Speaker 2: Jake Thompson on the Farm Bureau Insurance guest line.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Jake, are you in Alabama or Misissippi?
- 3:00Speaker 3: I am currently still between Oxford and Tuplo. My internal
- 3:04Speaker 3: clock slipt in a little bit, so I got a
- 3:07Speaker 3: little later start than I thought. But I am in
- 3:09Speaker 3: the car ahead in the east right now.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Oh, you pulled to Jackson Meadows. Okay, cool, all right,
- 3:15Speaker 1: so you're on the way.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I assume because you've been in this business for a
- 3:20Speaker 2: while and you're from this area and you went to
- 3:22Speaker 2: Old Miss, I assume you've been to Auburn before.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I have. I've been to many a football game, but
- 3:30Speaker 3: I am not. And I walked by playing from park
- 3:32Speaker 3: Head back to where they have US Media Park after
- 3:35Speaker 3: a Fulburn football game. But I've had not been incited,
- 3:39Speaker 3: So I am excited to see the inside of it
- 3:41Speaker 3: this afternoon once I get there for their practice and whatnot.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Well, it was a hell of a weekend for Old Miss.
- 3:47Speaker 2: They won two extra inning games. Bullpen, you know, seventeen innings,
- 3:53Speaker 2: only gave up four runs. I'd give that an a,
- 3:55Speaker 2: wouldn't you.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yeah, No, the you know, their bullpen has been the
- 4:00Speaker 3: backbone of the team's success all season. It's what's kept
- 4:04Speaker 3: them in games to hopefully get this offense that it
- 4:08Speaker 3: feels like you're watching in nineteen eighties bash Bro type
- 4:11Speaker 3: offense where it's either you know, clamoring home runs back
- 4:15Speaker 3: to back or putting up a run in the first
- 4:17Speaker 3: and then a lot of zeros after, you know, feast
- 4:19Speaker 3: or famine. But this bullpen, coming off the backs, you know,
- 4:23Speaker 3: coming out after Hunter Taylor Rave and Kate Townsend, has
- 4:26Speaker 3: been dominant. And I don't know if they were more
- 4:28Speaker 3: dominant anywhere else this season. They were up in Linken
- 4:31Speaker 3: watching him against what I think is probably the best
- 4:33Speaker 3: offense they'll face this season or postseason. I'm sorry, unless
- 4:37Speaker 3: they somehow match up for Georgia in the you know,
- 4:39Speaker 3: in the finals up in Omaha. But I know, stifling
- 4:42Speaker 3: an ASU offense I think held them to ten runs
- 4:45Speaker 3: in two games or twenty four innings. Really, when I
- 4:47Speaker 3: think Asu lit up South Dakota State and Nebraska for
- 4:50Speaker 3: twenty eight total runs, I mean that speaks to hisself
- 4:53Speaker 3: to what they were able to do. And yeah, yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 3: like your lead in said that, that's got to continue.
- 4:58Speaker 3: But they've got to have hopefully packed another hot bat
- 5:00Speaker 3: or two in the bus yesterday, because that the offense
- 5:03Speaker 3: is what's the most concerning about this.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I think if you had to pick a guy who
- 5:08Speaker 2: needs to get high or warm, just you know, get
- 5:11Speaker 2: going at the plate, who's the first guy that comes
- 5:14Speaker 2: to your mind, Jake.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I think if Bassetta can find something off that home
- 5:20Speaker 3: run to dead center he got in I guess game
- 5:22Speaker 3: three or Sunday night, and just carry it over. He
- 5:25Speaker 3: had a really hot April and then after he left
- 5:28Speaker 3: dnes See he just fell apart or fell apart at
- 5:31Speaker 3: the plate. He's been good defensively in the outfield, but
- 5:34Speaker 3: you know that, I think they need him to heat
- 5:36Speaker 3: up to pair with Judd, who you would like to
- 5:39Speaker 3: see be back to form to the guy that got
- 5:42Speaker 3: to fifty home runs forty nine home runs and then
- 5:45Speaker 3: down the line, I'd like to see if Folly get more,
- 5:48Speaker 3: you know, not just home run guy, but kind of
- 5:50Speaker 3: like that double that he almost hit out Sunday night.
- 5:53Speaker 3: You know, there are spots all up and down the lineup,
- 5:55Speaker 3: I think, and whoever they put in the left field
- 5:57Speaker 3: which has just been at the plate, a black hole,
- 6:00Speaker 3: evolving door of pick a player out of three guys.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Whoever they put in there is at that bottom of
- 6:05Speaker 3: the lineup. They need a bat to get hot in
- 6:06Speaker 3: eight or nine spots to flip the order with somebody
- 6:09Speaker 3: on base once you get back to Tom Decker and
- 6:11Speaker 3: you know Mark in Furnace. That's kind of the key
- 6:13Speaker 3: I think against this Auburn team.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, so Auburn played.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Look at sometimes I think we overthink this as you know, Jake,
- 6:22Speaker 2: you're you're in this business. So we're dealing with a
- 6:26Speaker 2: bunch of nineteen and twenty one, twenty two year olds.
- 6:29Speaker 2: They're all in incredible shape. You know, Auburn had to
- 6:33Speaker 2: play late into the evening Monday. The flip side is
- 6:38Speaker 2: they get Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and all of Friday to
- 6:43Speaker 2: rest and play Friday night. You know, yeah, they played
- 6:46Speaker 2: another game, but you know how much will that really
- 6:49Speaker 2: impact them? What do you maybe on the mound, the
- 6:53Speaker 2: guys in the field will be maybe arms, but the
- 6:55Speaker 2: guys on the field.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Will be just fine. Do you see it, Jake?
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah. I think the biggest thing is how it affects
- 7:04Speaker 3: Auburn's rotation, because I don't think their Friday guy will
- 7:07Speaker 3: be pitching Tomorrow night, because I think they I wasn't
- 7:10Speaker 3: able to watch the game Monday where I stayed on
- 7:13Speaker 3: the way back from Lincoln. They I did not have
- 7:15Speaker 3: the espn U, so I was clutching the A and
- 7:17Speaker 3: M game instead. But I believe the for Auburn had
- 7:20Speaker 3: to bring out there Friday night guy again just to
- 7:22Speaker 3: kind of seal the deal there until they blew the
- 7:24Speaker 3: blue the game open, So he was used twice, and
- 7:27Speaker 3: I don't know if I don't know if they'd run
- 7:29Speaker 3: him out there tomorrow night. You know, Busch Thompson's a
- 7:31Speaker 3: smart guy and I'm sure he knows he could say,
- 7:33Speaker 3: let let his ace get another day's rest. Hopefully you
- 7:36Speaker 3: pocket a one to know start and use him Saturday
- 7:38Speaker 3: or something like that. So I think that's the biggest thing,
- 7:41Speaker 3: is what what rotation wal and misfaced. Obviously it's the
- 7:44Speaker 3: first time they faced them. So it's not like they
- 7:45Speaker 3: know what the rest of this staff has besides maybe
- 7:49Speaker 3: watching some clips on tape this weekend, you know, in practice.
- 7:52Speaker 3: But uh, I think, yeah, you know, the rest of
- 7:54Speaker 3: these kids or kids were we were that age, and
- 7:57Speaker 3: we knew the rest in recovery comes a little faster
- 8:00Speaker 3: when you're that age, and so yeah, I think guys
- 8:02Speaker 3: who are just standing in the field, you know, not
- 8:04Speaker 3: really exerting themselves every inning, or we'll be fine. But
- 8:06Speaker 3: it Yeah, it comes down to his old missus pitching
- 8:09Speaker 3: staff go and to be more arrested than Auburn's because
- 8:11Speaker 3: on paper it should be, because they played three games
- 8:13Speaker 3: and then they were home Monday night propping their feet
- 8:15Speaker 3: up while Auburn was having to you know, got one
- 8:17Speaker 3: out so to speak, until he blew it open, laid
- 8:19Speaker 3: until the night Monday.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, impressive, Auburn won four in a row. Impressed with
- 8:24Speaker 2: the old miss winning two extra ending games.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Go ahead, Jake, Well, yeah, that was the thing was
- 8:30Speaker 3: I thought maybe Central Florida would trip them up if
- 8:33Speaker 3: when they got back to Central Florida in that loser's
- 8:35Speaker 3: you know kind of stretch. But I you know, looking
- 8:38Speaker 3: at the brackets I thought a Ucla should have had
- 8:41Speaker 3: the easiest path back, you know to a four and oh,
- 8:44Speaker 3: you know, with the teams in their regional proved me wrong.
- 8:46Speaker 3: But I thought maybe Auburn was the second best of
- 8:49Speaker 3: a team that needed to go four straight with the
- 8:50Speaker 3: teams they had in their in their regional, and and
- 8:53Speaker 3: the Tigers proved me correct. So I was not totally shocked,
- 8:55Speaker 3: but I know everybody was kind of hoping and praying
- 8:58Speaker 3: that there'd be a postseason baseball on Oxford tomorrow night.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt. What What was Lincoln like?
- 9:05Speaker 3: Uh? For me, that was my first time. I've been
- 9:07Speaker 3: to Omaha obviously, but I've not ever been to Lincoln.
- 9:10Speaker 3: But at the downtown, it was fantastic. I liked, I
- 9:12Speaker 3: guess to call it the Haymarket district with all their
- 9:15Speaker 3: restaurants and shops and stuff. And then there's like a
- 9:17Speaker 3: pedestrian bridge or two that connects the ballpark to that area,
- 9:21Speaker 3: so it's it's a really nice, really cool setup. I
- 9:24Speaker 3: compared it to when I was up in Milwaukee for
- 9:26Speaker 3: the basketball tournament, I guess last year, and it was
- 9:28Speaker 3: a very walkable, very fun little downtown, not not like
- 9:32Speaker 3: overbearing overpack with people. It was it was nice. I
- 9:35Speaker 3: enjoyed my time there.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Did you find a cool da bar, a good restaurant
- 9:42Speaker 2: or grill to hit?
- 9:44Speaker 3: We found a we found a couple of restaurants.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Uh.
- 9:47Speaker 3: They have a lot of uh, I guess you call
- 9:49Speaker 3: the quote unquote breweries in that area. But we had
- 9:53Speaker 3: at a place called Laslow's one night, a place called Leadbellies.
- 9:57Speaker 3: At the Sunday, after having to go cover an inning
- 10:00Speaker 3: for twenty minutes, I went and ate some watch at
- 10:03Speaker 3: a place called Bruceti's, which is basically like it'd be
- 10:06Speaker 3: like their local sports bar, beat ups type place. Yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 3: a nice little place. It there's a lot of if
- 10:13Speaker 3: you're a food guy, they had a lot of options,
- 10:14Speaker 3: a lot of different john Rose of food all around
- 10:17Speaker 3: in that little Haymarket area is.
- 10:19Speaker 2: In a pretty big I mean, what is it, several
- 10:22Speaker 2: hundred thousand people there roughly.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:24Speaker 3: The Lincoln town itself feels like it has a big
- 10:27Speaker 3: footprint just driving around, but the downtown area is a
- 10:30Speaker 3: very kind of compact and small little space. And the
- 10:33Speaker 3: cool thing I think is they've kept all their old
- 10:36Speaker 3: buildings like all they don't they haven't torn down but
- 10:39Speaker 3: maybe two or three that they just kind of had
- 10:40Speaker 3: to and they revitalized and turned them into restaurants. I
- 10:44Speaker 3: stayed in the Hampton in that was an old department
- 10:46Speaker 3: store that it was an empty building for ten years
- 10:49Speaker 3: and they just completely renovated it into a new hotel.
- 10:51Speaker 3: So whatever Lincoln's leadership is doing that, they're doing it right.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It was.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I enjoyed it up there.
- 10:56Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Jake Thompson on three Sports joins us on the Bounds show,
- 11:00Speaker 2: All Miss Insider.
- 11:01Speaker 1: He's on his way to Auburn, another beautiful town.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I mean the auburnople like area you could argue as
- 11:06Speaker 2: booms more than anything in the SEC.
- 11:09Speaker 1: And uh, they got it going on.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Man, they got that kind of thirty eight development out
- 11:13Speaker 2: there on whichever side that's on.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And it's it's popping and hopping.
- 11:17Speaker 2: The place is great. I was there last year. I
- 11:20Speaker 2: need to get down there a little bit more. But uh,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I'm not as mad at it as I was. This
- 11:25Speaker 2: is ESPN one oh five nine The Zone. All right, Jake,
- 11:28Speaker 2: let's switch gears to football. What the hell's going on?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Everybody's kicking all Miss?
- 11:33Speaker 1: Is it? Is it? Old Miss versus everybody is that
- 11:35Speaker 1: the field in Oxford.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Well, you know, the more people keep talking, the more
- 11:40Speaker 3: I think you're gonna see that kind of mentality. As
- 11:42Speaker 3: you know. It's just it's very strange and maybe not
- 11:45Speaker 3: strange to those who always said it's you know, all
- 11:48Speaker 3: miss upsets the apple cart, or when the Mississippi State
- 11:50Speaker 3: team has a really really good season, it kind of upsets,
- 11:52Speaker 3: you know, the apple cart because it's not your Alabama
- 11:55Speaker 3: as your Georgia's or I guess now Texas is, and
- 11:58Speaker 3: A and M's and Florida's. You're here, saw Whart said.
- 12:00Speaker 3: As logos as they kind of is the phrase. Now
- 12:02Speaker 3: everybody just goes off a logo. But what Ole miss
- 12:05Speaker 3: was able to do, and I think with you know,
- 12:07Speaker 3: in that run and basically being a catch away from
- 12:10Speaker 3: playing Indiana for a national title, it ruffled some feathers.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And I think it ruffled them more when Lane left
- 12:17Speaker 3: and key people did not follow him as in players
- 12:20Speaker 3: and didn't basically pillage the cupboard and take Golding. Plus
- 12:24Speaker 3: all the offensive guys with him and Golden State kept
- 12:27Speaker 3: the ship going and they recruited well, kept Trinidad, kept Lacy,
- 12:31Speaker 3: kept some others, and did well in the transfer portal,
- 12:33Speaker 3: and now they's still a favorite team to start the season.
- 12:37Speaker 3: You know, obviously you got to play twelve games see
- 12:39Speaker 3: what happens, but you would expect him to be in
- 12:41Speaker 3: that top fifteen or so preseason rankings and got you know,
- 12:45Speaker 3: a lot of buzz. I mean, you know, I think
- 12:47Speaker 3: that's that's what's not people are liking, is that this
- 12:49Speaker 3: transfer portal has created parody and in every sport. Look
- 12:53Speaker 3: what we just watched in college baseball over the weekend.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I think that's that's proof of it right there. And
- 12:58Speaker 3: so when you tap period, the teams that have perennially
- 13:01Speaker 3: kind of been the dogs kicked out of the way
- 13:03Speaker 3: to get to your SEC title game or national championship
- 13:06Speaker 3: run are now barking back and beating you and looking
- 13:10Speaker 3: like you used to look. So I think it's a
- 13:12Speaker 3: lot of sour grapes in my opinion, But they're going
- 13:14Speaker 3: to say what they're going to say. I was shocked
- 13:16Speaker 3: at really what Saving chose to use in his I
- 13:20Speaker 3: guess testimony if that's what it was yesterday, and his
- 13:22Speaker 3: example singling out on miss I was kind of taking
- 13:25Speaker 3: it back by that. But yeah, no, I don't think
- 13:29Speaker 3: he helped himself. When they get here, which I assume
- 13:31Speaker 3: they'll be here September nineteenth. They hadn't announced it, but
- 13:33Speaker 3: basically Pat McAfee said they'd come here for the ole
- 13:36Speaker 3: Miss LSU game.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Sure, sure, No, I think it's I think Ole Miss
- 13:41Speaker 2: or LSU could lose and they're before that game and
- 13:45Speaker 2: they're they're still going to be there.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I agree with you. I mean you can't.
- 13:51Speaker 2: You can't pass it up because anything that Lane says
- 13:54Speaker 2: goes viral. And ten to fifteen seconds, we are the
- 13:58Speaker 2: out of Bound Show. We're driven by your next g
- 14:00Speaker 2: MC Sierra Truck, GMC Yukon Fowler Fowler, GMC Pearl Brandon.
- 14:05Speaker 2: We're visiting with Jake Thompson, Ale Miss Insider. He's on
- 14:07Speaker 2: the way to Auburn. We'll see what elltt Elliott and
- 14:10Speaker 2: Townsend and Hooks can do this weekend.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:14Speaker 2: He mentioned Besetta getting you know, all eight. He doesn't
- 14:19Speaker 2: even have to get April hot. He can just get
- 14:21Speaker 2: like April warm, and that could that could be enough
- 14:26Speaker 2: to get through the the super Regional. What uh, what's
- 14:33Speaker 2: it like visiting with Pete Golding and the other football
- 14:37Speaker 2: assistance with all the back and forth with with Lane
- 14:40Speaker 2: at LSU.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Jake, Oh, you know Pete. For us, it's a breath
- 14:46Speaker 3: of fresh air in turns of talking to him. Now,
- 14:48Speaker 3: he's got a little as a guy who's covered high
- 14:50Speaker 3: school sports or a good chunk of his career, I
- 14:53Speaker 3: can kind of reference this. He's got a little bit
- 14:55Speaker 3: of a high school coaching him where he just kind
- 14:56Speaker 3: of says what he says and kind of talks and
- 14:59Speaker 3: maybe gets a little too x's and o's for for
- 15:01Speaker 3: some people's liking in terms of trying to understand him.
- 15:03Speaker 3: But he's just going to tell you what he feels.
- 15:05Speaker 3: And you know, that's a breath of fresh air as
- 15:08Speaker 3: opposed to the last six years where you could say
- 15:10Speaker 3: you were trying to decipher you know, code or sy
- 15:13Speaker 3: op from what ever. Lane Kiffin chose to answer your
- 15:16Speaker 3: question with, even if it was nothing, he were close
- 15:18Speaker 3: to what she asked. And so that's been a breath
- 15:20Speaker 3: of fresh air. And John David Baker's with the one
- 15:25Speaker 3: time we got to talk to him over the spring,
- 15:27Speaker 3: he was great, fantastic and you know he's still doing
- 15:30Speaker 3: the defense, so we really will just be talking to
- 15:32Speaker 3: him a little bit of Brian Brown who will kind
- 15:34Speaker 3: of be his lieutenant, so to speak, on defense while
- 15:36Speaker 3: Pete oversees everything. But no, it's it's night and day.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And you know, we asked a little bit about what
- 15:42Speaker 3: Lane says. Of course, most of what the inflammatory stuff
- 15:45Speaker 3: came after spring was done, so we really haven't gotten
- 15:48Speaker 3: talked to Pete. If you know, if they would quit
- 15:50Speaker 3: doing spring meetings and destin in the first week of regionals,
- 15:53Speaker 3: I'd probably go down there, and because that's basically turned
- 15:56Speaker 3: into a mini media days two months beforehand at this point,
- 16:00Speaker 3: so you know, all the fun stuff was kind of
- 16:02Speaker 3: said before and during down there and Pete what I
- 16:04Speaker 3: saw Flipso if during his little scrumbs, I thought he
- 16:07Speaker 3: answered and handled it, well, I mean he's taken. He's
- 16:09Speaker 3: having to answer questions about that obviously, the Clemson stuff
- 16:13Speaker 3: and then NCAA things, so you know, he's kind of
- 16:16Speaker 3: had baptism by fire ever since November thirtieth, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 3: having to also be a guy in front of the
- 16:21Speaker 3: camera during the college ball playoff front. So he hadn't
- 16:23Speaker 3: really had He didn't really have at down time of
- 16:26Speaker 3: an off season where he could kind of go away
- 16:27Speaker 3: and kind of I guess prep and get your answers ready.
- 16:30Speaker 3: And I think he's handled it well, you know, taking
- 16:33Speaker 3: live around so to speak.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, Jake Thompson on the Farm Bureau Insurance
- 16:37Speaker 2: guest line, all miss versus everybody. I thought it was
- 16:41Speaker 2: startble versus everybody. It just depends on the week and
- 16:45Speaker 2: the month and what's going on. Can you imagine what
- 16:48Speaker 2: Lane's gonna say sec media days in Tampa or what
- 16:51Speaker 2: next interview he's gonna do. Right, he was with Big
- 16:54Speaker 2: Cat the other day and the USA Today. Guy, Go ahead, Jake.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I'm staying the whole week down there because I you know,
- 17:04Speaker 3: weirdly a birthday president of mine was to take in
- 17:06Speaker 3: the reck some preseason game which happened to be at
- 17:08Speaker 3: Rama James that Saturday after media Day. So I'll be
- 17:12Speaker 3: there for a whole week. And I guess now for
- 17:13Speaker 3: sure have to sit there on Thursday when when Lane
- 17:15Speaker 3: Kiffin takes the podium. I was kind of hoping I
- 17:17Speaker 3: wouldn't have to really care what he has to say,
- 17:19Speaker 3: But I guess that was a fool's mistake on my part.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I love it all right, So what are you doing
- 17:25Speaker 1: down there again?
- 17:26Speaker 3: They Wrexham, that soccer team that's blown up over here,
- 17:30Speaker 3: that Ryan Reynolds and then another guy owned. Yeah, they
- 17:33Speaker 3: always do. They do a US preseason tour, so to speak,
- 17:37Speaker 3: like all the big English clubs do. And they just
- 17:40Speaker 3: happened to announce Tampa and it was the same week
- 17:42Speaker 3: as media Day, so I twisted some arms and got
- 17:45Speaker 3: a couple of tickets.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Nice man, that's cool, all right.
- 17:50Speaker 3: So now I'll be down there for the whole circus
- 17:53Speaker 3: that week.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Okay, you're a traveling man, are you? Single?
- 17:57Speaker 3: I am?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Ah?
- 18:00Speaker 2: All right, So if anybody's streaming the show from Auburn, Alabama,
- 18:04Speaker 2: we've got Jake Thompson on this Insider and single man
- 18:08Speaker 2: heading to Auburn Opalaika area for three days, maybe even
- 18:13Speaker 2: into Sunday. And so look out for this man at
- 18:18Speaker 2: the local dive bars and bars and grills, right Jake.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you'll you'll definitely watch out for this lady
- 18:25Speaker 3: chiller that's coming.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I love it, all right.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Well, hey man, golly, you were in Lincoln last weekend
- 18:34Speaker 2: and you had a great time and evidently had some
- 18:36Speaker 2: really good food, and you watch your team win and
- 18:38Speaker 2: you had two epic, I mean, phenomenal games, and now
- 18:44Speaker 2: you're going down to in an sec sec for both
- 18:49Speaker 2: of our teams, which I think is ridiculous, but we're
- 18:52Speaker 2: both in and we're fired up, so it is what
- 18:55Speaker 2: it is. And you're going down for a big weekend
- 18:58Speaker 2: and they get into it down there, especially at this
- 19:01Speaker 2: point as far as Auburn fans, so I expect a
- 19:05Speaker 2: packed park and a and a loud park, don't you, Jake, Yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 3: No, you know Lincoln's if they share a field with
- 19:14Speaker 3: an independent team kind of like what the mud Monsters
- 19:17Speaker 3: are now, and in their park kind of looked like
- 19:20Speaker 3: a smaller version of trust Mark. It was almost laid
- 19:23Speaker 3: out exactly the same. But when Nebraska and all misplayed,
- 19:27Speaker 3: they filled that thing up. I think seventy seven seventy
- 19:30Speaker 3: eight hundred was what they were hoping banking for. And
- 19:33Speaker 3: it was loud in that sixth any when Ray couldn't
- 19:35Speaker 3: really get his pitchcoms to work every time they tried
- 19:38Speaker 3: to new one, and they thought they were stalling, you know,
- 19:41Speaker 3: the crowd got little morality and ruckus and loud and
- 19:44Speaker 3: and and rave and almost got out of that ending uskate.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I think that was a big moment for them. But
- 19:48Speaker 3: and to all miss and to Mississippi State's credit and
- 19:52Speaker 3: kind of something they can lean on. Playing ten weeks
- 19:54Speaker 3: in the SEC, you're you're prepared for these kind of
- 19:56Speaker 3: crowds that both of them are going to face. I
- 19:59Speaker 3: mean in Georgia or Georgia and State have played already
- 20:01Speaker 3: and start well. So I think that that helps negate
- 20:05Speaker 3: it a little bit. Because these kids both Auburn will
- 20:07Speaker 3: miss Georgia State, They're used to this for thirty games
- 20:09Speaker 3: out of the season, so I think it's gonna make
- 20:12Speaker 3: it fun. But I think you can, hopefully for all
- 20:14Speaker 3: those teams take that out as a something that might
- 20:16Speaker 3: rattle him being you know what these kind of crowds
- 20:18Speaker 3: are going to be in front of.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not happy that George is good in baseball.
- 20:22Speaker 2: They've been good enough in football. They don't deserve to
- 20:24Speaker 2: win in anything else. It's kind of like Alabama in baseball.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Daniel Jackson kids a real deal though.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He's very good, oh, no question.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Trey Phelps, who's suspended for Game one but an absolute
- 20:36Speaker 2: monster both in the field and at the plate. Looks
- 20:40Speaker 2: like he could start in the SEC at free safety
- 20:43Speaker 2: or slot receiver.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That guy's yeah.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Wes Johnson and Will Cogan and look butch as a
- 20:49Speaker 2: butcher has some guys who look like strong safeties or
- 20:52Speaker 2: damn near damn near outside linebackers edge rushers on that
- 20:57Speaker 2: in that line up. Good grief, all right, dude, Well,
- 21:02Speaker 2: I hope you get a cold beer tonight when you
- 21:04Speaker 2: get there and get settled and have a great trip.
- 21:08Speaker 1: We'll we'll talk soon. Oxford versus everybody.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I appreciate you guys, Thanks for having me on.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Hi buddy, Jake Thompson on the Out of Bounds Show,
- 21:17Speaker 2: brought to you by Ice, Cold, Bud, Light and Wings
- 21:20Speaker 2: at Martin's and Livingston. That is a winning combination, just
- 21:24Speaker 2: like old miss and Mississippi State baseball. This year, your eyes,
- 21:27Speaker 2: two out of the sixteen teams are from the state
- 21:29Speaker 2: of Mississippi. I know we say it, but do you
- 21:32Speaker 2: really think about that for a second, realize how cool
- 21:35Speaker 2: that is.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I mean, that's unbelievable. So, I mean that's what we do. Yeah,
- 21:43Speaker 1: we do bad. I mean everywhere up and down.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Community college baseball really really good here.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Yeah, high school baseball pretty dang good here. Right, we
- 21:54Speaker 1: love it. But I mean, you know, are you gonna
- 21:56Speaker 1: watch some baseball this weekend? Oh? Yeah? You watched a
- 21:59Speaker 1: little I think you watched a little bit.
- 22:01Speaker 2: You listen J Powell and Neil on ESPN one oh
- 22:06Speaker 2: five nine.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Of the Zone love it. They do a really good job.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Ten am, first pitch Saturday morning. Isn't that crazy? That's wild.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I was talking to my son Wilkes about what they
- 22:17Speaker 2: were going to do. He's on Eastern Time, and he
- 22:19Speaker 2: was like, Dad, we've got a huge Mississippi State group
- 22:23Speaker 2: that's coming through. Uh Wes. We've got a huge Mississippi
- 22:32Speaker 2: State crew that they're going to some cool restaurant and bar.
- 22:39Speaker 1: In DC.
- 22:40Speaker 2: They had a big Mississippi State get together after work yesterday,
- 22:46Speaker 2: so it was like one hundred and fifty.
- 22:48Speaker 1: People there, so that was cool.
- 22:50Speaker 2: But ten am, Baby Tito's, Bloody Mary's and Wings or Sliders.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Fu people.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Think about all the different places you can And then
- 23:01Speaker 2: we got FIFA World Cup next week and what's the
- 23:06Speaker 2: official beer Michelobultra and stell Artwi, two of the beers
- 23:13Speaker 2: that we talk about all the time. FIFA World Cup
- 23:16Speaker 2: starts next week, brought to you by Ice Cold Michelobultra
- 23:21Speaker 2: and Ice Cold stell Artoy and Wings.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Youcked into the World Cup
