- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. It's Lala Kent. Welcome to untraditionally Lala.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Hello, my loves, did you just go My mom just
- 0:12Speaker 2: went about this freaking peanut butter cookie with jam in
- 0:16Speaker 2: the middle that she's eating. She looked at it and goes, oh,
- 0:22Speaker 2: we need to get you a boyfriend. No, we're a
- 0:24Speaker 2: vibrator something.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Listen to me. Yeah, this is delicious.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Is don't make this podcast hard for Easton to edit.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Okay, whatever you guys say, Easton, I always thinking it's
- 0:37Speaker 4: my Eastern.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You don't say yeah, I never do.
- 0:42Speaker 3: No, But can I tell you that our baby says
- 0:47Speaker 3: yeah she does. You're twins.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Okay, I'm really obsessed with this drama that has happened.
- 0:57Speaker 1: By the way, welcome to the bonus. I have my
- 0:59Speaker 1: mom eating crumbs off of herself. Do you do you?
- 1:07Speaker 1: I'm obsessed, obsessed with this mom drama.
- 1:11Speaker 4: You know who else has joined forces with the mom drama?
- 1:15Speaker 4: Crystal that was on the Beverly Hills Housewives.
- 1:18Speaker 1: With this, Yeah, with this mom drama.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yep, it came on my newsfeed.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I did you screenshot it so you can read me
- 1:26Speaker 1: what's happening? Okay, So for those of you who are lost.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Ashley Tisdale published a personal essay for The Cut and
- 1:36Speaker 1: the title of it was breaking up with my toxic
- 1:40Speaker 1: mom group. The internet then try to figure out, like
- 1:44Speaker 1: we do, play detective, who is the mom group that
- 1:48Speaker 1: she is referring to, because obviously Ashley never named the
- 1:52Speaker 1: people that were involved in this mom group. Okay, so
- 1:55Speaker 1: people on the internet speculated it was the people in
- 1:59Speaker 1: this photo. And the people in this photo are Ashley Tisdale,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Hillary Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainer, Janie Gott, Gabby Dalkin,
- 2:09Speaker 1: Kelsey Denahan. Some of these people, I'll be honest, I
- 2:14Speaker 1: don't know who these are. Haley david Owitz, Amanda Kaplan,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and Whitney Wagner. Hartley So I know the above names
- 2:23Speaker 1: up until Meghan Trainer, So I know four of the names. Yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and I'm looking at the photo and one of the
- 2:30Speaker 1: girls on the end looks familiar. Anyway, That's who people
- 2:34Speaker 1: had tied it to was the people in the photo.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Ashley Tisdale's reps went to TMZ to shut it down.
- 2:41Speaker 1: They were like, this is not who she's referring to.
- 2:45Speaker 1: They also, I love this part. They also felt it
- 2:48Speaker 1: necessary to be like, and by the way, actually Turchdale
- 2:51Speaker 1: is not a Republican. She here's a registered Democrat. I
- 2:56Speaker 1: feel like there's such a difference though, you guys, since
- 2:58Speaker 1: actually I'm not even gonna go there. I'm gon shut
- 3:00Speaker 1: the fuck up. We're not gonna go politics, but please
- 3:03Speaker 1: keep that part in there. Not even gonna go politics.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm just gonna shut the fuck up anyway. Hillary Duff's husband, Oh,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I love when a husband taps themselves in.
- 3:11Speaker 3: And I got the scoop on Crystal when you're done.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I love this Hillary Douff's husband posted on Instagram,
- 3:18Speaker 1: which just confirms that this is the mom group. When
- 3:21Speaker 1: you're the most self obsessed, tone deaf person on earth.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Other moms tend to shift focus to their actual toddlers.
- 3:28Speaker 1: People are like, all right, done, here we go because
- 3:30Speaker 1: then Ashley's man tabs himself in and says underrated life skill,
- 3:35Speaker 1: pausing to decide if it's worth your energy. Well, then
- 3:38Speaker 1: Megan Traynor taps herselfen and posts a TikTok on January eighth,
- 3:44Speaker 1: same day that an unlikely affair aired. So if you
- 3:46Speaker 1: guys didn't see this, because an unlikely affair came out,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I understand, I'm here to pull you out from under
- 3:52Speaker 1: your rock and then written across the TikTok it said
- 3:56Speaker 1: me finding out about the apparent mom group drama. And
- 3:58Speaker 1: then she did like cups of tea and hashtag it
- 4:01Speaker 1: still don't still don't care, and it's like, all right,
- 4:04Speaker 1: so we've confirmed who the group is. I just love
- 4:08Speaker 1: when mom drama happens. Here's my whole thing. Don't love
- 4:14Speaker 1: when the husbands have themselves in. Okay, And maybe it's
- 4:18Speaker 1: because I don't have a husband. You don't have a husband.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So when the husband's at any point in time, and
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'll you guys will see this on the valley as well,
- 4:26Speaker 1: when the man tabs themselves in. I do not have
- 4:29Speaker 1: a man. I don't want to go toes with a man.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Shut the fuck up. Fade into the background, Let it
- 4:35Speaker 1: be between the moms. Be quiet, how do you feel, mom?
- 4:38Speaker 3: Same way?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Like, be quiet, my dad? I remember many times. Because
- 4:43Speaker 1: we're we all become mama bears. Right. So it's when
- 4:46Speaker 1: you have a mom group, it's just a matter of
- 4:49Speaker 1: time before shit explodes, all right, because we all start,
- 4:53Speaker 1: you know, we're getting along and it's all, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 1: fun and games, and our cups are full, and then
- 4:57Speaker 1: they become unfull very quickly because it's like, okay, now
- 4:59Speaker 1: it's to because we're women, a little dramatic, and especially
- 5:03Speaker 1: when you have kids in the well, then the kids
- 5:05Speaker 1: are involved, so it's mama bear shit.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And so I remember being young and having friends in
- 5:11Speaker 1: their parents and my mom feeling a certain way towards
- 5:15Speaker 1: the parents, and the dad's always just kept out of it, right, yes,
- 5:21Speaker 1: like be quiet, keep your heads down and let the
- 5:24Speaker 1: moms duke it out. Where is Crystal from?
- 5:28Speaker 3: You know what? Let's look at this.
- 5:31Speaker 4: It says it stems from Crystal commenting on Ashley's viral
- 5:35Speaker 4: posts about being excluded from a toxic mom grip, with
- 5:38Speaker 4: Crystal relating but drawing criticism for adding pick me comments.
- 5:43Speaker 1: How do you feel about this mom?
- 5:44Speaker 3: I feel like she brought it to the streets and
- 5:46Speaker 3: I don't agree with it.
- 5:47Speaker 1: A freaking men.
- 5:49Speaker 3: She has issues, go to the source.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I fully agree with you, and without naming names, I
- 5:57Speaker 1: used to have a friend who took shit to the streets.
- 6:01Speaker 1: It never ends well when it comes to your mom group.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Keep it in the mom group. Don't publish an article
- 6:09Speaker 1: about it. If you need to break up with them, great,
- 6:14Speaker 1: But I feel like when the kids are involved, like
- 6:18Speaker 1: you have to take the high road. I know that
- 6:20Speaker 1: in this day and age, none of us can have
- 6:22Speaker 1: a thought without posting it talking about it. I know
- 6:26Speaker 1: this got a lot of pickup, but it's like, why
- 6:30Speaker 1: cause the headache?
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:32Speaker 1: When the children are involved, can I ask you a question? Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 1: do you think that you put your beef aside for
- 6:51Speaker 1: the sake of the kids at this age? For example?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Ocean on for example ocean if Ocean I had a
- 6:58Speaker 1: friend and I, you know, she was like, I want
- 7:02Speaker 1: to play with this kid, And I'm like, okay, great,
- 7:04Speaker 1: And I call their mom and like the mom and
- 7:06Speaker 1: I become friends and then we have a falling out.
- 7:08Speaker 1: This is all hypothetical, by the way, right, would I
- 7:13Speaker 1: still continue to reach out and like get the kids together? Like,
- 7:17Speaker 1: what do you think about that? Or do you think
- 7:20Speaker 1: it depends on who you are?
- 7:21Speaker 3: I think it depends on who you are. Yeah, that's
- 7:24Speaker 3: what I think.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Because my mom will tell me at times if I'm
- 7:28Speaker 1: supposed to go do something and I'm like, I want
- 7:31Speaker 1: to do this, and I know that the comments are
- 7:33Speaker 1: going to be like, oh, Lolly, you need to suck
- 7:35Speaker 1: it up. But I just I know who I am,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and I think the superpower in life is being able
- 7:41Speaker 1: to acknowledge who you are and at times say, I
- 7:46Speaker 1: know that I won't be able to control this. So
- 7:48Speaker 1: my biggest flaw is that I lash out.
- 7:52Speaker 4: So I think you need to step back from the situation.
- 7:56Speaker 4: And I think, Ashley, this is just my opinion, should
- 7:59Speaker 4: have maybe step back from the situation, let it diffuse
- 8:02Speaker 4: itself a little bit before going to press. But you know,
- 8:06Speaker 4: I agree, act sometimes quickly when we're fueled.
- 8:10Speaker 1: But that's my whole point is that there are times
- 8:13Speaker 1: where I know, I know that if I put myself
- 8:16Speaker 1: in a certain situation, even it's if it's to make
- 8:19Speaker 1: sure that ocean doesn't miss out, I will lash out
- 8:24Speaker 1: because I'm in my own emotion. And people can say,
- 8:27Speaker 1: then you know you can't separate yourself from your child
- 8:30Speaker 1: and put her needs ahead of your own. Maybe I
- 8:34Speaker 1: don't know. Yeah, if you need to diagnose me with that,
- 8:37Speaker 1: then great.
- 8:38Speaker 3: But if your gut's telling you not to do something.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Then I take a shit out do it. Yeah, And
- 8:43Speaker 1: I think she should have taken a step back. I
- 8:45Speaker 1: do too, And I have to be honest, these schools
- 8:48Speaker 1: give a shit. Yeah, these schools don't want the drama.
- 8:51Speaker 1: When you put it out there that you're having beef
- 8:54Speaker 1: with some of your mom friends and then it's time
- 8:57Speaker 1: to go into school, they're gonna be like, we don't
- 8:59Speaker 1: trust it if you have an issue at our school,
- 9:02Speaker 1: that it won't end up as an article that you publish.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So I try to kind of steer clear of that.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Type of thing as you should.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, because we talked about it on the regular episode,
- 9:16Speaker 1: getting into getting into schools in La, I mean even preschool,
- 9:21Speaker 1: the preschool that Ocean goes to. I remember touring it,
- 9:24Speaker 1: and we toured it in I think I want to
- 9:29Speaker 1: say they started in July. It was like a couple
- 9:32Speaker 1: months before they were going to start, and there were
- 9:34Speaker 1: moms there, you guys that were like six months pregnant
- 9:37Speaker 1: being like, I'm trying to get on the wait list
- 9:40Speaker 1: for when my kid turns eighteen months. And then they
- 9:43Speaker 1: we like went down the line of like who our
- 9:45Speaker 1: child is when they're going to school, and I was like,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I'm Lala, I'm hoping my child's three and I'm hoping
- 9:52Speaker 1: to come here in July, and I'm looking at me
- 9:56Speaker 1: like good luck. It's it's very competitive, so you do
- 10:03Speaker 1: want to walk a very fine line. And getting into
- 10:07Speaker 1: kindergarten is an entirely new beast. Like you to college, Well,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you're paying college prices if you're looking at private school.
- 10:15Speaker 1: But they look at these things. They look at your
- 10:17Speaker 1: social media, they look at you know. I remember posting
- 10:21Speaker 1: the bitch video of ocean and I did get an
- 10:25Speaker 1: email from this someone, from someone saying, you know, you
- 10:30Speaker 1: should really like just it's a very funny video, but
- 10:35Speaker 1: maybe think twice about posting stuff like this.
- 10:37Speaker 3: So who knows.
- 10:39Speaker 1: She's Ashley Tisdale. I've had nothing but wonderful interactions with her.
- 10:43Speaker 3: I loved when I met her. I thought she was darling.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And I've had nothing but positive interactions with Ashley's husband
- 10:51Speaker 1: as well. It is very important to point out that
- 10:56Speaker 1: Haley Duff, which is Hillary Duff's sister, is citing with
- 11:00Speaker 1: Ashley Tisdale.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Oh wow, I know, isn't that kind of wild hush juicy?
- 11:07Speaker 1: I'm like, you have to be careful posting about the stuff,
- 11:10Speaker 1: but don't stop posting about this stuff. It's great podcast
- 11:12Speaker 1: content for me. I always find it's a little bit
- 11:17Speaker 1: like I give it a little side eye when people
- 11:20Speaker 1: have siblings that kind of turn on them. And side
- 11:23Speaker 1: was like, I just can't even imagine, you know, like
- 11:27Speaker 1: imagine me posting something like this and yeah he's been signing.
- 11:31Speaker 3: And him signing with the person that you've talked about. Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 3: oh that'd be weird. It would be weird.
- 11:38Speaker 1: It just goes like.
- 11:39Speaker 3: When there must be other underlying issues not just this.
- 11:43Speaker 1: You don't say, mom, yes you don't.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Wow, this is very profound. I try to be.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I think there must be something else going on.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I don't think it's just about the article.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Wow, I freaking love you.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Anyway, this was excellent.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Easton is my bff.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Like me speaking of Eastern Oh you guys, he was
- 12:13Speaker 4: supposed to be here today.
- 12:14Speaker 1: He was supposed to be on the podcast today, which obviously, jid,
- 12:18Speaker 1: you're always like a gem of a guest. But he
- 12:20Speaker 1: was supposed to be on the podcast today. And I'm
- 12:22Speaker 1: blaming myself because I told him, I was like, you
- 12:25Speaker 1: should come earlier to the studio and like grab a
- 12:28Speaker 1: coffee with us, And he calls me and he goes,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I don't think i'll be able to make it. I
- 12:32Speaker 1: just got in a car accident. He was like, at
- 12:35Speaker 1: the light, someone was behind him, and then another car
- 12:39Speaker 1: he saw just hauling, who obviously wasn't paying attention, hit
- 12:41Speaker 1: the car behind him, and then that car hit It
- 12:44Speaker 1: was like a little three car pile up. He was
- 12:48Speaker 1: trying to give us a play by play Eastern kind
- 12:49Speaker 1: of loop. Sometimes he reminds me of Miss Congeniality, where
- 12:54Speaker 1: she's like to Miss Hawaii. She like, if someone says
- 12:57Speaker 1: like Aloha, was just start all over. When I say
- 13:00Speaker 1: goodbye to Easton, he literally starts over.
- 13:03Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, so that's the thing.
- 13:06Speaker 1: My dad used to do it. My brother Brandon does it,
- 13:10Speaker 1: Easton does it. I have to be like, all right,
- 13:11Speaker 1: bye bye, gotta go bye bye. You said this already,
- 13:15Speaker 1: you said this already. But they're so cute' they're so
- 13:19Speaker 1: sweet and you and I next Tuesday. Everyone loves that,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and everyone hates us. We're bitches.
- 13:25Speaker 3: So I guess when they're sleeping. No, no, no, I can't.
- 13:28Speaker 1: It drives me fucking nuts. He literally Aloha makes him
- 13:33Speaker 1: start all over. It's all I'm gonna say.
- 13:34Speaker 3: But they all do.
- 13:36Speaker 1: He gave the play by play, and I we said.
- 13:38Speaker 1: We don't care about that. We just want to make sure. Okay,
- 13:41Speaker 1: he's fine. There was a miscommunication with the masseuse today,
- 13:45Speaker 1: so he's now having an unexpected massage, which he deserves.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Love that it was supposed to be for three people,
- 13:50Speaker 1: so Ocean's getting thrown into the mix. You're grounded from
- 13:53Speaker 1: the iPad. Get your fucking massage though. Anyway, I love
- 14:01Speaker 1: you guys. I hope you enjoyed this bonus. I'll catch
- 14:03Speaker 1: you guys next week. Bye.
