- 1:38Speaker 6: And happy Wednesday evening, ladies and gentlemen. It's been a minute,
- 1:43Speaker 6: but most of us are back. We're going to be
- 1:45Speaker 6: in missing man formation for a while. Unfortunately, G's having
- 1:47Speaker 6: to step away from the microphone. He's got some life
- 1:49Speaker 6: events going on.
- 1:50Speaker 5: So.
- 1:51Speaker 6: Whatever prayers, positive mojo, all that good stuff you've got
- 1:55Speaker 6: for him, make sure you're sending it his way. I
- 1:57Speaker 6: wouldn't have said much, but he's already made the announcement
- 1:59Speaker 6: on X anyway. So anyway, we're back. We're live. It's
- 2:02Speaker 6: Toxic Masculinity Night here on KLRN Radio. And I will
- 2:06Speaker 6: leave it up to the panel if we're going to
- 2:07Speaker 6: stay on last Wednesday or move back to the second
- 2:09Speaker 6: one because I'm not sure what anybody wants to do.
- 2:12Speaker 6: And I think they're tired of moving stuff around. So,
- 2:15Speaker 6: we'll talk about that towards the end, though. So, we're
- 2:18Speaker 6: going to start going around and letting everybody say good evening.
- 2:21Speaker 6: We're going to start, of course, with ladies first. The
- 2:24Speaker 6: lovely Aggie. Good evening, ma'am. How are.
- 2:29Speaker 7: You?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Hi. I was just sitting here thinking, this is a
- 2:33Speaker 2: man's show. Masculinity. And here I am. I don't, I don't,
- 2:37Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know.
- 2:39Speaker 6: You're the bar babe.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Yes, I'm the drink of the evening.
- 2:45Speaker 2: This is true.
- 2:48Speaker 6: There has to be femininity and masculinity. That's kind of
- 2:50Speaker 6: the whole thing.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I just always thought that it was like, it was
- 2:53Speaker 2: no big deal. And then I started thinking, wait.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 3:00Speaker 5: You were not.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Well, just to put this idea out of her head,
- 3:07Speaker 6: you're not going to bump stock Ken your way out
- 3:09Speaker 6: of this.
- 3:09Speaker 5: One, ma'am.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Got it. I'm not sure what that means, but okay.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I remember when you were going to be part of,
- 3:17Speaker 6: you were going to.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Be the second half of Front Porch Forensics.
- 3:19Speaker 6: And you're like, oh, no, no, no, no, you should
- 3:21Speaker 6: do it with him. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 3:23Speaker 6: That's not happening here. But it made sense.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Because, you know, she had an emergency during the show.
- 3:29Speaker 2: He stepped in and he did a great job. I
- 3:31Speaker 2: was like, why isn't he the one to host?
- 3:35Speaker 5: Oh, I know.
- 3:36Speaker 6: I just wanted to put that idea out of your
- 3:37Speaker 6: head in case that was what you were starting to percolate. Here's,
- 3:40Speaker 6: I don't really need to be a part of this show.
- 3:42Speaker 6: This is a show about men for men. We already
- 3:43Speaker 6: do that one on Tuesday nights, and you're not part
- 3:45Speaker 6: of that one.
- 3:47Speaker 2: This is true.
- 3:49Speaker 6: Anyway, and also, because it's been a minute since we've
- 3:52Speaker 6: heard from him, and for those of you that are watching,
- 3:54Speaker 6: you can actually see both of us tonight, and I
- 3:56Speaker 6: apologize for nothing. Good evening, Mr.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Andrew, sir.
- 3:59Speaker 6: How are you? Are you on Jeff's mothership right now?
- 4:01Speaker 6: Is that what's going on?
- 4:04Speaker 5: No, this is just the background of a picture I
- 4:06Speaker 5: have from one of my jobs. But I'm over here
- 4:09Speaker 5: doing the.
- 4:13Speaker 5: What was the AI character in the 80s?
- 4:19Speaker 6: Max Headroom?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Max Headroom.
- 4:22Speaker 5: My camera on the computer has caused me to Max
- 4:24Speaker 5: Headroom out.
- 4:26Speaker 3: We haven't really seen it yet, but we'll.
- 4:28Speaker 6: See if it happens. If it keeps happening, you should
- 4:31Speaker 6: just change your Name to Max of the Headroom or
- 4:34Speaker 6: something so people know what's going on. And then, of course,
- 4:37Speaker 6: we have none other than the Bon Vivant himself, Mr.
- 4:42Speaker 4: VC.
- 4:43Speaker 6: How are you, sir? How are things?
- 4:45Speaker 4: I don't feel very Bon Vivant-y this evening, especially over
- 4:50Speaker 4: the last two days. It's been not good, not good.
- 4:58Speaker 6: I'm sorry to hear that, my friend.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Not me, although I did have a kind of life-changing
- 5:06Speaker 4: event thing kind of happen for me, but.
- 5:08Speaker 5: It's not really.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that too. Which is going surprisingly well, believe it
- 5:16Speaker 4: or not. She just walked in and everyone's like, oh,
- 5:19Speaker 4: and everybody gets along and it's great. Dolly yesterday and
- 5:24Speaker 4: Tim Curry today, it's just been like a A one-two
- 5:27Speaker 4: kick to the balls.
- 5:29Speaker 5: It's, yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 6: You know, yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Hey, dude, if you.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Bring up Yoko Ono one more time, I swear to God,
- 5:39Speaker 6: I'm going to meet you.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I will hunt you down.
- 5:43Speaker 6: But yeah, I've actually thought about putting out a, you know,
- 5:46Speaker 6: just because it was a nice little alliteration thing I
- 5:49Speaker 6: came to by accident today. 2026 can suck all the dicks.
- 5:52Speaker 6: I want to put that on a bumper sticker.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. Put it in the merch shop.
- 5:57Speaker 2: But, you know, this is what made me stop and think.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I mean, it was one after the other. And then
- 6:01Speaker 2: BC this morning says, who's going to be the third one?
- 6:05Speaker 2: And I'm like, why do you do this to me? Well,
- 6:09Speaker 2: it's not only that.
- 6:10Speaker 6: People that already know that it usually happens in threes
- 6:13Speaker 6: have already started saying people need to watch out for
- 6:16Speaker 6: this person and this person and this person. And then
- 6:18Speaker 6: I see one of my cousins been like, has anybody
- 6:20Speaker 6: checked on Clint Eastwood today? I'm like, you shut your
- 6:22Speaker 6: damn mouth.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Oh, my God. My husband said the same thing. I
- 6:25Speaker 2: was like, you. Oh, and I was holding a knife
- 6:29Speaker 2: at the time.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Yes, that's it. Expect a notice within the.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Next.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Yeah. And then somebody else brought up William Shatner. I'm like,
- 6:40Speaker 6: if you people do not stop trying to jinx this shit, I'm...
- 6:46Speaker 6: I'm gonna let the resident loose.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton.
- 6:51Speaker 6: Okay, that one wouldn't hurt my feelings.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Okay, that would be.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I mean, if I say it three times, will it work?
- 6:56Speaker 6: I'm surprised she's not standing behind you now.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Seriously, though, I would be so pissed off if George
- 7:02Speaker 4: Takei ends up being the last surviving Star Trek actor.
- 7:05Speaker 6: That would fucking suck. Dude, don't even put that out there.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Please do not. Please do not. Do not. Honestly, I
- 7:19Speaker 2: think that William Shatner would beat him out of spite anyway.
- 7:23Speaker 4: This is true.
- 7:25Speaker 6: The funny thing is When I was younger, because I
- 7:28Speaker 6: bought into all the other actors always piling on Shatner,
- 7:33Speaker 6: I always kind of thought of him as just kind
- 7:36Speaker 6: of the way we see Mark Hamill now. But now
- 7:38Speaker 6: that he's on social media and I see him just
- 7:40Speaker 6: interacting with people and stuff, I'm like, you know what?
- 7:42Speaker 6: He's not what people made me think he was.
- 7:45Speaker 3: It's you guys.
- 7:46Speaker 6: That were the ones that were being like, yeah. Because, yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 6: I mean, like even him and Nimoy had that falling
- 7:54Speaker 6: out several years ago. And Shatner started trying to build
- 7:57Speaker 6: bridges back again because he realized, you know, we worked
- 8:00Speaker 6: together for a long time. We were friends for a
- 8:02Speaker 6: long time. And I realized that I really was missing
- 8:05Speaker 6: having him in my life. And Nimoy was like, fuck
- 8:08Speaker 6: off and die in a fire. And I'm like, oof.
- 8:13Speaker 6: I mean, I don't care how mad I am at somebody.
- 8:15Speaker 6: If I've if I've known them for that long, I'm
- 8:17Speaker 6: going to at least be able to be cordial with them.
- 8:21Speaker 6: I would like to think. And I don't know, but yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 6: this whole like Dolly Parton, that that was a punch.
- 8:31Speaker 6: I mean, I got to say that the Tim Curry thing,
- 8:34Speaker 6: I was kind of like at first I was like, yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 6: but then I started because, you know, I've I've never
- 8:39Speaker 6: really been that big into Rocky Horror Picture Show. But
- 8:42Speaker 6: then I started thinking about all the other things that
- 8:43Speaker 6: he was in, like the Home Alone scene where he's
- 8:46Speaker 6: basically smiling like the Grinch that you're going to get.
- 8:50Speaker 6: the order of linen for this captain. I'm like, oh,
- 8:53Speaker 6: how did I completely forget that he was in Hunt
- 8:55Speaker 6: for Red October?
- 8:56Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 8:57Speaker 2: All of the voices that he did, all of the acting,
- 9:01Speaker 2: he was, I think, I'm not sure, but I think
- 9:04Speaker 2: he's the only human being to be an honorary Muppet.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Well, they put that out today.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Because, you know, that was for Treasure Island was like,
- 9:18Speaker 2: he became a Muppet. It wasn't that he was acting
- 9:21Speaker 2: with Muppets.
- 9:22Speaker 4: He became one. From 1985 until, you know, just recently,
- 9:27Speaker 4: like the last 10 years after he had his stroke,
- 9:30Speaker 4: he didn't work much. But from 1985 until like the
- 9:35Speaker 4: early 2000s, he was everywhere. Seriously. He was doing, he
- 9:41Speaker 4: was doing films. He was doing television. He was doing
- 9:44Speaker 4: stage work. He was doing voiceovers. He, he, you literally
- 9:48Speaker 4: could not get away from him at one point. He
- 9:51Speaker 4: was everywhere. Whether it was announced or not, but the
- 9:55Speaker 4: minute you heard something, because he had such a distinctive voice,
- 9:59Speaker 4: He said something.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Oh shit.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Tim Curry. Oh shit. Tim Curry.
- 10:06Speaker 6: He was a lot like Alan Tudyk back then. I
- 10:10Speaker 6: knew Alan Tudyk from Firefly. And I know I'm butchering
- 10:13Speaker 6: his last name. But that was really all I knew
- 10:15Speaker 6: him from. And then I started researching him. For something
- 10:18Speaker 6: else that I was working on. And I realized that
- 10:21Speaker 6: he did all of these voices that I never put
- 10:23Speaker 6: to being him. Like, and one of the ones that
- 10:27Speaker 6: I thought was the most interesting was finding out that
- 10:29Speaker 6: he did the antagonist robot voice in AI or not
- 10:33Speaker 6: our robot eye or whatever it was, the Will Smith movie.
- 10:37Speaker 6: And in the screen test, I robot.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 6: And I don't know why I was flipping that around,
- 10:43Speaker 6: but in the screen test, He was polling so much
- 10:46Speaker 6: higher with the people that were watching the screen tests
- 10:49Speaker 6: in the theaters that Will Smith got so pissed that
- 10:52Speaker 6: they pulled his name in credit.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Well, here's the situation. When you read the book, it's
- 10:58Speaker 2: not about the Will Smith character. It's about the robot.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I mean, he was the main character. So I don't–
- 11:06Speaker 2: when that happened, I was just like– But if you
- 11:12Speaker 2: were to read it, it's about the robot. And you're like, literally,
- 11:15Speaker 2: the title. The title should have given it away.
- 11:19Speaker 4: But no.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Will's ego is just... Well, it used to be.
- 11:24Speaker 6: It used to be big.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Not anymore. The less said about him, the better.
- 11:30Speaker 5: I think the most memorable part that I saw him
- 11:35Speaker 5: play was on a two-parter on CSI. where he played
- 11:42Speaker 5: a serial killer over two parts. I mean, I've seen
- 11:45Speaker 5: him play it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Right? I mean, that was just like, oh my God,
- 11:51Speaker 5: that's creepy.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I loved his character in Psych, where he played a
- 11:56Speaker 2: Simon Cowell type of person for an American Scott Talent
- 12:01Speaker 2: type of show or something. And he was hilarious. And
- 12:04Speaker 2: of course, he did Dale the Whale on Monk as well.
- 12:08Speaker 2: And so there were quite a few little, I guess,
- 12:14Speaker 2: side quests that he did in acting.
- 12:21Speaker 6: I'm actually surprised you made the book reference with as
- 12:23Speaker 6: often as I've been torturing you with that theme song lately.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I know. I figured I'd throw it in there, you know.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I mean, it was one of the best shows ever, so.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Dude, yeah, I actually, yeah, his Dale the Whale character.
- 12:41Speaker 6: I was sad when they brought that character back a
- 12:43Speaker 6: few seasons later and it wasn't him playing him anymore.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Alan Arkin played it and Tim Curry
- 12:49Speaker 2: played it. And then the last person to play it,
- 12:51Speaker 2: I forget his name, but not a very well-known person.
- 12:56Speaker 2: But I liked Curry's better than Alan Arkin's. But Alan
- 13:01Speaker 2: Arkin's was actually snarkier than Tim Curry's. But, but yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 2: this is great. Curry took the world. Curry took that role.
- 13:12Speaker 6: This is true. Yeah. It's, it's funny that you brought
- 13:15Speaker 6: up Muppet treasure Island because when we did treasure Island,
- 13:19Speaker 6: I was expecting it to be kind of like the
- 13:21Speaker 6: rest of the plays that we've done. And that was
- 13:23Speaker 6: the first real attempt. I want to say that's trying
- 13:25Speaker 6: to be serious. So my pregame for treasure Island was
- 13:30Speaker 6: watching Muppet treasure Island and And then I sit down
- 13:35Speaker 6: and everybody's being serious and I'm like, okay, I'm not
- 13:38Speaker 6: doing that joke. I'm not doing that. Anyway, but I mean,
- 13:44Speaker 6: it turned out really well. It was just surprising because
- 13:46Speaker 6: normally we're just kind of riffing with it and just
- 13:49Speaker 6: trying to break people. And I mean, there were a
- 13:51Speaker 6: couple of times that happened kind of sort of by accident,
- 13:53Speaker 6: but 95% of that one was serious. And I was
- 13:56Speaker 6: kind of.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Mostly when we do these 90% of us are either drunk.
- 14:03Speaker 4: drunk or otherwise impaired.
- 14:06Speaker 6: Either drunk either drunk already otherwise I know right yeah
- 14:13Speaker 6: it's either drunk already impaired or in the process of
- 14:16Speaker 6: becoming either one of those things and that really didn't
- 14:18Speaker 6: happen but yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 5: I think a lot of us was waiting for somebody
- 14:24Speaker 5: else to start the riffing.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Yeah that's probably it as well I don't know. I
- 14:35Speaker 4: was like in a quandary like two minutes before I
- 14:38Speaker 4: actually had my first line. It's like, holy fuck, what
- 14:40Speaker 4: kind of accent am I going to do with this?
- 14:42Speaker 4: I had no idea what to do. And then I just,
- 14:45Speaker 4: I just tried something and then I just stuck with it.
- 14:47Speaker 5: So, yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 6: My, my accent kept changing. I blame CERN. Because for
- 14:54Speaker 6: some reason I couldn't hold on.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Is there going to be riffing on Sherlock Holmes there, Charles?
- 14:57Speaker 6: I couldn't.
- 14:58Speaker 4: I'm sorry, what was that?
- 15:01Speaker 5: Are we going to riff on Sherlock?
- 15:05Speaker 4: Oh, I, I, I don't know. A part of me
- 15:09Speaker 4: wants to, a part of me wants to do it
- 15:11Speaker 4: like semi-seriously, you know, to, to pay respect to the
- 15:15Speaker 4: actors who did it. And then another half of me
- 15:16Speaker 4: is just like, you know, fuck it. Let's go Mel Brooks.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I mean, shit.
- 15:24Speaker 2: By virtue of the fact that I will be playing Watson,
- 15:28Speaker 2: I'm going to have to riff it because there is
- 15:30Speaker 2: no way that I can be serious about Yeah. I mean,
- 15:35Speaker 2: already gender bending here.
- 15:40Speaker 6: OK, so you're absolutely right.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I think we need to not take it so seriously.
- 15:47Speaker 6: So I do want to I do want to bring
- 15:49Speaker 6: this up because it's kind of in a vein of
- 15:51Speaker 6: what we talk about on the show. This is from
- 15:54Speaker 6: NBC7 San Diego. This was posted around 130 today. Actually,
- 16:00Speaker 6: I'm sorry, 130 yesterday. Um, the fart corner gives students
- 16:05Speaker 6: a place to pass gas without leaving class and helps
- 16:07Speaker 6: normalize a very normal bodily function. Um, we didn't need
- 16:11Speaker 6: a fart corner when I was a kid. We just
- 16:13Speaker 6: let them go in the seat. Why do we got
- 16:16Speaker 6: to make a kid go to the corner to fart?
- 16:19Speaker 6: What the hell?
- 16:20Speaker 4: Oh yeah. It's like what they're doing in LA. They
- 16:22Speaker 4: want to give a homeless people like free places to
- 16:25Speaker 4: wink and, and, uh, do other, you know, bizarre things.
- 16:31Speaker 4: sexual things. So, yeah. It's awesome. Love California.
- 16:36Speaker 6: What the hell is happening?
- 16:40Speaker 4: The inmates are running the asylum.
- 16:44Speaker 6: Eh, touche. That is a valid point, though.
- 16:47Speaker 5: I think the inmates would look around and go, fuck this.
- 16:50Speaker 5: We're leaving. I'm staying.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Probably.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Pretty much.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Even the inmates are like, even I'm not this crazy, fuckers.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Just saying. But yeah, I saw that story and I'm like, okay,
- 17:05Speaker 6: we got to talk about that. Because to me, that
- 17:07Speaker 6: just seems really, really weird. Because it's like, you know,
- 17:10Speaker 6: in Texas, darling, I saw it because she quote tweeted
- 17:12Speaker 6: it and her exact question is exactly what I was
- 17:14Speaker 6: thinking before I realized that she already put it in
- 17:16Speaker 6: the quote tweet. Why is everything so stupid now? Because
- 17:21Speaker 6: everything feels really stupid.
- 17:27Speaker 4: I think we're well past feel stupid. Everything actually is stupid.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Somebody just needs to rewrite the Lego movie theme. Everything
- 17:36Speaker 6: is stupid.
- 17:41Speaker 5: I wonder if we can reset the matrix again.
- 17:45Speaker 6: See, I kind of felt like that kind of was
- 17:47Speaker 6: happening when they shut down CERN. So like for the
- 17:49Speaker 6: first couple months after they shut down CERN, I was
- 17:51Speaker 6: able to sleep and stuff again. And I don't know
- 17:54Speaker 6: if at some point they flipped the switch again and
- 17:55Speaker 6: didn't tell anybody, but I'm back to having insomnia again
- 17:58Speaker 6: for the most part. Part of it, I think, is
- 18:00Speaker 6: I'm getting used to a new bed. I will say
- 18:02Speaker 6: once I do fall asleep, I sleep better than I
- 18:04Speaker 6: have in a long time because I have an awesome
- 18:05Speaker 6: new bed, but I still have difficulty going to sleep
- 18:09Speaker 6: now again. So it was like it was really because
- 18:11Speaker 6: like for a couple months there, I could not get
- 18:13Speaker 6: enough sleep no matter how hard I tried. Now I'm
- 18:16Speaker 6: like at a certain time and I lay in bed
- 18:18Speaker 6: now and go, oh, I can't. Can't go to sleep anymore.
- 18:22Speaker 6: What changed? We have an homiciding in five, four, three, two, one. Eventually.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Do you, though? Do you really?
- 18:34Speaker 6: Do we, though?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Do we really?
- 18:36Speaker 6: Probably not. How's things, Amish?
- 18:41Speaker 4: Oh, okay. Yeah, let Rory interrupt, and then I'll give
- 18:44Speaker 4: you a sleep tip. No, no, no.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Let Vincent go. I'm just going to make heart noises.
- 18:50Speaker 6: There's a corner for that now, sir. There's a corner
- 18:54Speaker 6: for that now, sir. We need you to go to
- 18:55Speaker 6: the corner.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Okay, he's in the corner.
- 18:57Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, that's true.
- 19:00Speaker 4: He's in the lower right corner. Go ahead and fart away, already.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I don't mind that. Anyway, Vincent, what were you saying?
- 19:07Speaker 3: The thing you needed to do?
- 19:09Speaker 4: When I had trouble sleeping, this is about a year
- 19:12Speaker 4: and a half, two years ago, I went down to
- 19:16Speaker 4: five below and I bought... You know those.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Head wrap headphones. They're like sweat band kind of things.
- 19:23Speaker 6: Uh, yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 4: And you pull them down over your head and you know,
- 19:26Speaker 4: they're Bluetooth compatible. I just, I charged them up. I
- 19:30Speaker 4: put them on my head when, uh, before I went
- 19:32Speaker 4: to bed and I would just like put, uh, a
- 19:35Speaker 4: super long, like classical music or, you know, jazz playlist
- 19:40Speaker 4: on and just fall asleep to it. And it worked.
- 19:45Speaker 4: And I did it for like, I think five, six days.
- 19:49Speaker 4: And after that, I still haven't had a problem sleeping
- 19:52Speaker 4: to this day.
- 19:55Speaker 6: Might be worth a shot. But, you know, I don't
- 19:57Speaker 6: have a love of wine over beer or an extensive
- 20:00Speaker 6: classical library, though, either.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Well, see, you can always look for a classical music
- 20:05Speaker 4: playlist on Spotify. It will help you locate one.
- 20:09Speaker 6: I'm just....
- 20:12Speaker 4: I know. I know. You're being a dick. And I'm
- 20:14Speaker 4: being a dick right back. And that's what I love
- 20:15Speaker 4: about you.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Hey, I resemble that remark. I just realized what your
- 20:19Speaker 6: tagline says tonight. I hadn't noticed it before.
- 20:23Speaker 4: I like reading.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Keep watching the skis.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Boy blittered knee, boy.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Might I suggest for classical music that you listen to
- 20:34Speaker 3: the Danish Symphony Orchestra do the good, the bad, and
- 20:37Speaker 3: the ugly.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Ooh, there's an idea.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yes, yes. He turned me on to that. It's amazing.
- 20:44Speaker 3: The version of the Ecstasy of Gold is spectacular. Brings
- 20:49Speaker 3: tears to my eye.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Or if you want to, look for Jordi Savarell. He's
- 20:56Speaker 4: a Spanish cellist. And he has a Baccarini playlist. And
- 21:02Speaker 4: it's basically three quarters of the soundtrack of Master and Commander.
- 21:05Speaker 4: You'll know all the songs when you hear them. And
- 21:08Speaker 4: it's amazing. So, yeah, that's also a good one.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Or the entire library of Bear McCreary.
- 21:15Speaker 6: Yes.
- 21:16Speaker 5: You can always try Xanadu.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Or Xanadu, yes. The Xanadu soundtrack always works well.
- 21:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Does it, though?
- 21:27Speaker 5: It does. Hi, Aggie.
- 21:29Speaker 6: Hello, sweetie.
- 21:29Speaker 3: How are you?
- 21:30Speaker 5: I'm tired.
- 21:31Speaker 4: I know.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I know, you're exhausted.
- 21:42Speaker 5: You're working more than I am now, Lordy, and that's
- 21:45Speaker 5: hard to do.
- 21:46Speaker 4: It is hard to do.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I know, it's weird, right?
- 21:48Speaker 4: You didn't have to slay any of your co-workers today,
- 21:51Speaker 4: did you?
- 21:53Speaker 3: Today?
- 21:53Speaker 6: No.
- 21:54Speaker 4: We actually got a new one. A sober one?
- 21:57Speaker 3: Uh, well, he's 20, so.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Probably not.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Probably not, maybe.
- 22:06Speaker 6: Lordy.
- 22:07Speaker 5: I just.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I was, I was talking to the office today. They're
- 22:11Speaker 3: just like, we just love how you intimidate the kids
- 22:13Speaker 3: out there. I said, I'm not doing anything. I'm just
- 22:16Speaker 3: standing there passively. Like we know it's awesome.
- 22:20Speaker 5: I can't help it.
- 22:21Speaker 4: If I have boots that are older than these children,
- 22:24Speaker 4: you're hiring.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 6: So, uh, hang on.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I've got a skin tag bigger than you.
- 22:30Speaker 6: There's a picture. So, uh, while we're, while we're intentionally
- 22:37Speaker 6: off the rails for a moment, Did someone mention Xanadu?
- 22:40Speaker 3: That wasn't even the best song on that soundtrack.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 22:49Speaker 6: Oh, I know.
- 22:51Speaker 2: But it is the earworm.
- 22:53Speaker 6: I know. You're welcome. You guys can thank Andrew for that.
- 22:56Speaker 6: He texted me earlier.
- 23:00Speaker 3: I had We Are Magic stuck in my head for
- 23:02Speaker 3: a month after we did that on VCP.
- 23:08Speaker 4: I had that ELO song that I had. I'm alive.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Two weeks. It was horrible. And I love ELO, and
- 23:16Speaker 4: it was still killing me. Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Sorry, what were we talking about? What did I interrupt?
- 23:26Speaker 6: Well, you actually joined just as we were... Yeah, we
- 23:29Speaker 6: had just finished wrapping up Fart Corner, because that was
- 23:31Speaker 6: a new story out of California. And then I was
- 23:35Speaker 6: going to throw to Aggie and do the the drink
- 23:38Speaker 6: of the week. I guess in this case, it should
- 23:41Speaker 6: be the drink of the last couple months, but still.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been a while since this place was broadcasting,
- 23:48Speaker 2: wasn't it?
- 23:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been a minute.
- 23:51Speaker 6: It's been a minute.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Yep, yep, yep.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Well, today's drink is actually a celebratory drink, and this
- 24:01Speaker 2: is something that I.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Bourbon?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Well, bourbon's always celebratory, but.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It's actually called Old Cuban. And it's got mint and
- 24:16Speaker 2: it has citrus in it. You're going to take an
- 24:20Speaker 2: ounce and a half of aged rum. So the Cristal
- 24:23Speaker 2: is not going to cut it for this. You actually
- 24:25Speaker 2: need a rum with like a strong flavor profile. So
- 24:30Speaker 2: something aged. I would go about 12 years or so.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Three quarter ounce fresh lime juice, an ounce of simple syrup,
- 24:38Speaker 2: two dashes of Angostura bitters, six whole mint leaves. I
- 24:43Speaker 2: always err on the side of more. So you've got
- 24:48Speaker 2: 10 leaves, throw them in there. Two ounces of chilled champagne.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So this is a really cool drink to do if
- 24:54Speaker 2: you have leftover champagne from like doing mimosas or bellinis
- 24:59Speaker 2: or whatever. But if you don't have champagne, you can
- 25:02Speaker 2: use tonic water. And then a little mint sprig for garnishing.
- 25:07Speaker 2: You're just going to be basically pouring everything in there,
- 25:12Speaker 2: mixing it well, and then topping it off with the
- 25:15Speaker 2: sparkly stuff, the champagne or the tonic. And garnish with
- 25:19Speaker 2: your little mint sprig and enjoy.
- 25:21Speaker 5: I have a question.
- 25:26Speaker 4: There's no such thing as leftover champagne.
- 25:29Speaker 5: That was my question.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Not for you, but in this house, I'm the only
- 25:35Speaker 2: one that actually touches champagne for anything. So I'll use
- 25:38Speaker 2: it for cooking, but I cannot finish an entire bottle
- 25:40Speaker 2: in one day. God hates you.
- 25:43Speaker 5: Rookie. Rookie.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Have you tried?
- 25:51Speaker 2: I did once. I bitterly regret it, and never again.
- 25:55Speaker 5: You know, if you don't have to have the beer
- 25:58Speaker 5: truck show up every day, you're not drinking enough.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, you can't drink all day if you
- 26:04Speaker 3: don't start in the morning.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I actually did once have like, I bought orange juice
- 26:12Speaker 2: and I bought champagne and I was going to serve
- 26:15Speaker 2: mimosas and then everybody overslept and then they didn't want
- 26:19Speaker 2: mimosas for like lunch. They wanted, um, I don't know,
- 26:23Speaker 2: wine or whatever, beer, something harder. And so I was,
- 26:29Speaker 2: I was, I was the only one that had drunk
- 26:31Speaker 2: the champagne in the morning. And so after that, I
- 26:36Speaker 2: was like, okay, I guess I'll keep drinking it throughout
- 26:38Speaker 2: the day. And it, I I'm a very slow drinker.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I will nurse a drink for hours. And so it
- 26:46Speaker 2: took me literally from like, I started cooking around eight,
- 26:50Speaker 2: eight 30. And that's when I had, A mimosa or two.
- 26:54Speaker 2: And it took me until about 8 in the evening.
- 26:55Speaker 2: To finish the bottle of champagne. But I was like.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I can't do that again. I can't. It's too fizzy.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Too fizzy.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I know.
- 27:09Speaker 6: What does that even mean?
- 27:11Speaker 2: It sounds wimpy and everything. I mean. I think champagne.
- 27:16Speaker 4: If it's too fizzy for you. Give the bottle a
- 27:19Speaker 4: couple of shakes. Before you open it up.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 3: No, I'm serious.
- 27:24Speaker 4: When you open it up, just be sure to keep
- 27:25Speaker 4: your hand on the cork and let it degas.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Okay, like that.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Give it about five or six really good strong shakes,
- 27:34Speaker 4: and then take the cork out slowly, let it degas,
- 27:37Speaker 4: and you'll lose about 60% of the bubbles. If you're
- 27:41Speaker 4: not into really, really, really fizzy champagne or Prosecco or
- 27:45Speaker 4: anything like that.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Champagne comes with the cork? All mine comes with the
- 27:50Speaker 5: twist top.
- 27:52Speaker 4: That's the good stuff. It's like Thunderbird. James Mason for
- 27:56Speaker 4: Thunderbird Wine.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Oh, Lordy.
- 27:59Speaker 5: I do have bad news. I had a terrible thing
- 28:02Speaker 5: happen to me today. What? I was banned from the
- 28:05Speaker 5: Buffalo Trace distillery.
- 28:08Speaker 4: What? No.
- 28:09Speaker 6: What did you do?
- 28:13Speaker 5: I sampled.
- 28:16Speaker 6: Were you supposed to sample?
- 28:17Speaker 5: I sampled.
- 28:17Speaker 3: He means challenge to a cast.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Well, they told me there were free samples, so I
- 28:22Speaker 5: started opening up bottles and sampling. I realized there was
- 28:27Speaker 5: a room to go.
- 28:31Speaker 6: To.
- 28:34Speaker 5: They don't want you to sample it. Why are all
- 28:36Speaker 5: the bottles right where you can grab them in the
- 28:38Speaker 5: gift shop?
- 28:40Speaker 2: Very good point. Very good point.
- 28:44Speaker 4: What's that line already? Bourbon. Brownest of the brown liquors.
- 28:50Speaker 3: What is that? You want me to drink you?
- 28:53Speaker 5: I shouldn't.
- 29:00Speaker 4: See, we work Simpsons references into every show we're in.
- 29:05Speaker 4: That's just who we are.
- 29:07Speaker 3: What if I told you I wasn't wearing a tie
- 29:09Speaker 3: at all?
- 29:13Speaker 6: Well, to be fair, we hit the 31-minute mark before
- 29:16Speaker 6: the Simpsons references really started rolling in, so there's that.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 3: It's literally in my signature.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Yeah, we got there before that. The Simpsons references started
- 29:27Speaker 4: when he showed up.
- 29:29Speaker 6: I said rolling in, not just stand-alones. You guys did
- 29:34Speaker 6: like two or three back-to-back at like the 31-minute mark. Well,
- 29:39Speaker 6: you know.
- 29:41Speaker 3: We're cultured.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Sue us.
- 29:43Speaker 4: It's what we do.
- 29:44Speaker 6: Is that what we're calling it now?
- 29:46Speaker 4: Yes.
- 29:47Speaker 5: It's an Eddington.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Hey, I gave you the Dutch Symphony Orchestra.
- 29:56Speaker 4: Corn. Sweet as a baby's smile. And tomatoes. Aggie, have
- 30:01Speaker 4: you heard that yet?
- 30:03Speaker 5: What?
- 30:04Speaker 3: The Danish Symphony Orchestra doing Good, Bad, and the Ugly.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 30:07Speaker 5: I did.
- 30:09Speaker 2: It was excellent.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Excellent. Good.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It was excellent. You know, that theme, not only is
- 30:18Speaker 2: it iconic, but it stays with you. It's an earworm
- 30:21Speaker 2: that lasts for months. This rendition was just gorgeous. It
- 30:26Speaker 2: was beautiful. I don't mind this earworm at all. I
- 30:31Speaker 2: love Marconi anyway, so for me it was like super plus.
- 30:37Speaker 3: The best composer who never had a budget.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Truth.
- 30:46Speaker 3: So tell me of this fart corner in California.
- 30:48Speaker 5: I missed it.
- 30:49Speaker 3: I'm not plugged in anymore.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Hang on.
- 30:52Speaker 6: I'll have to see if I can find it again.
- 30:53Speaker 3: I mean, didn't you just talk about it moments ago?
- 30:59Speaker 6: Well, yeah, but I already moved off of it by then. So, yeah,
- 31:03Speaker 6: this is out of NBC7 out of San Diego. There
- 31:09Speaker 6: is a Georgia teacher that says it's a classroom win-win.
- 31:14Speaker 6: She calls it a gas station for farts. The first
- 31:23Speaker 6: thing about this particular gas station is that it's not
- 31:26Speaker 6: actually a gas station. There are no pumps, no squeegees
- 31:29Speaker 6: in this pipe. what one might reasonably expect. There's no
- 31:31Speaker 6: requirement that anyone actually purchase gas. It is a designated
- 31:34Speaker 6: corner of an Atlanta elementary school. So wait, I guess,
- 31:39Speaker 6: I guess California was getting a bum rap for this
- 31:41Speaker 6: one because it was, it's a San Diego story, but
- 31:43Speaker 6: this is happening in Georgia.
- 31:45Speaker 5: Yes. Yes.
- 31:47Speaker 6: This is a, it is a designated corner of an
- 31:49Speaker 6: Atlanta elementary school classroom where students can go when they need.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Okay.
- 31:54Speaker 4: We're, we're specifically in Atlanta. Where does the byline say?
- 31:58Speaker 6: So far all I've been able to see is Atlanta, Georgia.
- 32:02Speaker 4: There are specific neighborhoods in Atlanta that are a lot
- 32:05Speaker 4: more liberal than others.
- 32:10Speaker 6: It goes on for a second, so I may mention
- 32:11Speaker 6: it at some point. It says the creator of this
- 32:16Speaker 6: idea is Candy Sidney Browning, a 36-year-old second grade teacher.
- 32:20Speaker 6: He calls it the gas station, the specific spots where
- 32:23Speaker 6: students can go in is the gusty winds area there
- 32:28Speaker 6: are air freshener sprays nearby and according to sydney brown
- 32:31Speaker 6: it actually works um i have a very weak stomach
- 32:35Speaker 6: so i cannot take it she tells today.com and so
- 32:38Speaker 6: i was like okay i'm just going to create this
- 32:40Speaker 6: area over here where you can just get up and
- 32:43Speaker 6: go over there do your business come back and that's
- 32:45Speaker 6: just um yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Okay do they have an area where some students can
- 32:50Speaker 4: go shit themselves.
- 32:53Speaker 6: Well, it's probably going to happen in that corner at
- 32:55Speaker 6: least once.
- 32:56Speaker 4: It's got to be the next logical procession there.
- 33:00Speaker 6: I'm just waiting for the corner called Spank Bank.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 33:04Speaker 4: No, that's in LA.
- 33:05Speaker 3: That's in high school.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Hey, some kids start early, damn it. Some kids start early.
- 33:13Speaker 3: So what I'm getting out of this is that it's
- 33:15Speaker 3: in a fluid neighborhood because only a rich woman would
- 33:17Speaker 3: have three names.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Right? Yes.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Oh, are you pulling the... Zorro the gay blade thing.
- 33:25Speaker 3: I absolutely pulled Zorro the gay blade.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I so love you.
- 33:31Speaker 4: We have to do that movie again, already.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what?
- 33:34Speaker 3: We've got to have Aggie on as a guest for
- 33:36Speaker 3: that one, too.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Would you come on the show if we did that, Aggie?
- 33:40Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Okay. All right.
- 33:42Speaker 2: It's one of my favorite movies. I love it. Everybody
- 33:46Speaker 2: in it was just fantastic. Charlotte Taylor Wilson.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Crime and being poor, only dressing poorly.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Or do you run out to send me a link?
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's for you young kids. There used to be
- 34:10Speaker 3: this thing called comedy.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:14Speaker 3: And it was sometimes dark. I mean, that was, that
- 34:20Speaker 3: movie was just, oh, So offensive on many levels, and
- 34:24Speaker 3: I love every second of it.
- 34:26Speaker 2: But he nailed it with Bunny Wigglesworth. I mean, it
- 34:31Speaker 2: was so beautiful.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Well, they say the Navy makes men. Well, it made
- 34:36Speaker 3: a man out of me.
- 34:37Speaker 2: The weird thing was, that was the first movie I
- 34:39Speaker 2: saw with George Hamilton. And as you all know, he
- 34:43Speaker 2: had a vast career well before that movie came out.
- 34:46Speaker 2: And years later, they did the.
- 34:51Speaker 2: A remake of Where the Boys Are. And it was
- 34:56Speaker 2: Where the Boys Are 84. And, you know, there was,
- 34:59Speaker 2: you know, teeny bopper girls.
- 35:01Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 35:04Speaker 2: And my dad was looking at it going, I thought
- 35:07Speaker 2: this movie came out in the 60s or something. And
- 35:09Speaker 2: I was like, it did? So I went and I
- 35:11Speaker 2: looked it up at Blockbuster. And they had it. They
- 35:17Speaker 2: had the original And George Hamilton was in it. And
- 35:20Speaker 2: I was like, I have got to see this movie.
- 35:22Speaker 2: And of course, you know, it's, it's kind of a, it's,
- 35:25Speaker 2: it's not that great. It's not a happy movie, you know, but,
- 35:30Speaker 2: but it was really good. And I loved George Hamilton's
- 35:35Speaker 2: character in it. He was really, really cool. And of course,
- 35:37Speaker 2: you know, everybody knows him from the Columbo movies that
- 35:39Speaker 2: he did, which were, he was.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Such a good guy. And Love at First Bite was
- 35:44Speaker 3: Susan St. James.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Oh yes.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Love at First Bite.
- 35:47Speaker 7: Oh, Some people got mad because he was a sexier
- 35:55Speaker 7: Dracula than Frank Langella.
- 35:59Speaker 2: And people got mad about that.
- 36:06Speaker 5: We have our third.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I've got good news and bad news. I'll give you
- 36:12Speaker 4: the bad news first. They pulled that copy from YouTube. Oh, fuck. Yeah,
- 36:16Speaker 4: the good news is some enterprising young fellow ripped a
- 36:22Speaker 4: copy of it and can send it to whoever needs
- 36:25Speaker 4: it so we can all watch it and do that show.
- 36:29Speaker 3: The bad news is that copy is also cursed.
- 36:34Speaker 4: The good news is you get your choice of topping.
- 36:39Speaker 3: The bad news is the sprinkles are made of sodium benzene.
- 36:44Speaker 6: That's bad.
- 36:46Speaker 3: That's bad. Yep, Simpsons reference. You're welcome.
- 36:51Speaker 5: Got better news. Yoko Ono takes the place of Susan St. John.
- 36:55Speaker 2: I will hunt you down.
- 36:59Speaker 6: Dude, we had this discussion earlier.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Why do you hate fine cinema like that?
- 37:07Speaker 5: It's cursed, right?
- 37:09Speaker 2: Why do you hate us?
- 37:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:13Speaker 3: But Warren Hutton, so it's good.
- 37:17Speaker 6: In between the constant Monday countdown memes and now the
- 37:20Speaker 6: Yoko Ono jokes, I've just decided you hate everyone equally.
- 37:25Speaker 2: He's a non-discriminatory hater.
- 37:29Speaker 5: It's a gift. And we have our third celebrity.
- 37:33Speaker 6: And a curse.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Who's the third celebrity?
- 37:37Speaker 5: Who? J.P. Morgan.
- 37:41Speaker 4: No.
- 37:42Speaker 2: No, no.
- 37:43Speaker 5: Yep, I dropped a link in the chat. No.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Oh, damn it. I liked her.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Damn it.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Wait, who was the first?
- 38:00Speaker 4: Dolly.
- 38:01Speaker 3: That was Dolly.
- 38:03Speaker 5: JP.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Then who?
- 38:08Speaker 2: Then Tim Curry. And now JP Morgan.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Oh, shit.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Tim Curry? God damn it.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Oh, wow, you must have been very busy.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I'm telling you, I am under a fucking rock.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Tim Curry today and now J.P.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Morgan.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Wow, she was so.
- 38:27Speaker 6: She was so snazzy.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Between her and... What's his name?
- 38:42Speaker 3: The host on the gong show.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Chuck, I can't remember his last name.
- 38:46Speaker 5: Chuck Harris.
- 38:47Speaker 4: And him, you know, talking and then sniffing every five minutes.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Oh man, that dude was so coked up. But we
- 38:52Speaker 4: didn't know it at the time.
- 38:55Speaker 2: I had no clue.
- 38:55Speaker 5: Oh, we knew. I didn't.
- 38:58Speaker 6: I was young and naive.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I'm still naive.
- 39:03Speaker 4: But yeah, it wasn't until I actually started doing coke
- 39:06Speaker 4: that I recognized the signal. It's like, holy shit.
- 39:13Speaker 3: I learned it from Chuck.
- 39:17Speaker 4: I learned it from watching Chuck.
- 39:23Speaker 6: Dude, apparently that started being posted about six hours ago,
- 39:27Speaker 6: so I missed it somewhere, I guess.
- 39:31Speaker 4: But so yoko ono.
- 39:35Speaker 6: You remember you know yeah the world is a better
- 39:43Speaker 6: place so for those of you yeah yeah why Yoko
- 39:50Speaker 6: Oda's still in it.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Oh, I thought she died. Never mind.
- 39:55Speaker 6: No, no. I was like, wait. Anyway, but yeah. So
- 39:58Speaker 6: for those of you who don't know, because.
- 40:00Speaker 5: I posted it today.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Yeah, before Amy went over to Town Hall, she had
- 40:05Speaker 6: earned the moniker over at Twitchy of the Grim Reaper
- 40:08Speaker 6: because she was the one that was so quick on
- 40:10Speaker 6: the draw. Anytime anybody passed away, she'd be the one
- 40:13Speaker 6: that wrote about it. Yeah, I mean, I used to
- 40:15Speaker 6: do it. Then she got really fast at it. I'm like,
- 40:17Speaker 6: you know what? I can't even keep up with you.
- 40:18Speaker 6: I'm not even going to try. But so she's earned
- 40:21Speaker 6: the moniker Grim Reaper. So somebody made the joke today
- 40:23Speaker 6: that we have to stop Amy Curtis at all costs
- 40:26Speaker 6: before the third one gets announced. So I made a
- 40:33Speaker 6: meme today using her Abby from X and having her
- 40:37Speaker 6: dressed as the Grim Reaper standing in front of one
- 40:39Speaker 6: of those claw machines. And it had Dolly already in
- 40:42Speaker 6: the tray. Tim Curry coming up in the hook and
- 40:45Speaker 6: then her turning towards the quote-unquote where the camera would
- 40:49Speaker 6: be and asking the question, is Soros really even in
- 40:52Speaker 6: this damn thing?
- 40:53Speaker 5: And yeah. Good meme. Oh, Jesus.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Nicely done.
- 41:02Speaker 6: Yeah, I will say it took about.
- 41:04Speaker 5: J.P. Morgan, a lot of people won't, especially the younger
- 41:08Speaker 5: generations here, won't know her.
- 41:11Speaker 6: Yeah, it took me a second to figure it out,
- 41:13Speaker 6: and then I saw somebody post about Gong Shuo, and
- 41:15Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, yeah, I remember.
- 41:17Speaker 3: See, it took me a second, because I'm like, didn't
- 41:19Speaker 3: John Pierpont Morgan die, like, decades ago?
- 41:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I was thinking J.P. Morgan Chase, and I'm like,
- 41:26Speaker 6: wait a minute.
- 41:27Speaker 2: No, no, no, the gal. The gal with the hats.
- 41:30Speaker 2: She always wore these feathered hats. She had sequins all
- 41:35Speaker 2: over the place. I mean, she was like.
- 41:37Speaker 4: And she always had matching eyeglasses, too.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Yes, and she was like a cross between Phyllis Diller
- 41:42Speaker 2: and Elton John.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Totally.
- 41:46Speaker 3: I love that moment.
- 41:47Speaker 2: She was like so out there.
- 41:49Speaker 6: It was great.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Holy shit, that nails it.
- 41:53Speaker 6: You know why she was a cross between them? She
- 41:55Speaker 6: was their secret love child. Just saying. Did you not
- 42:05Speaker 6: ever hear that Dillard was Elton's beard?
- 42:07Speaker 5: No, I'm just You never wore a bra. I know that.
- 42:12Speaker 6: Well, it was the 70s. Nobody wore bras back then.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Just like in space, there are no bras in the 70s.
- 42:22Speaker 6: Oh, so I heard it. I heard a bit today
- 42:26Speaker 6: that had me rolling.
- 42:29Speaker 5: Space walnuts.
- 42:31Speaker 6: Yeah, space walnuts. So, yeah, I heard a bit today
- 42:33Speaker 6: that had me rolling, and it was about Dolly. So
- 42:36Speaker 6: I guess it was circa 70s because she was on
- 42:39Speaker 6: The Tonight Show. And I think Carson thought they were
- 42:42Speaker 6: in a break. And I guess they weren't. Because at
- 42:47Speaker 6: one point he looked at her deadpan and says, I
- 42:49Speaker 6: will give you my entire annual salary for one year
- 42:54Speaker 6: if you just show me those things.
- 42:58Speaker 3: That's so Johnny.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:03Speaker 6: Those are things that could not be said today. There
- 43:06Speaker 6: would be like attorneys and lawsuits and all kinds of crap.
- 43:09Speaker 6: And I'm like, you know, life was a lot simpler
- 43:11Speaker 6: when you could just be tongue in cheek about things
- 43:13Speaker 6: and nobody got pissed off.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Life was simpler before HR.
- 43:18Speaker 6: This is true. HR is the bane of everyone's existence.
- 43:24Speaker 6: Speaking of HR nightmares, you hear about the football team
- 43:27Speaker 6: owner who got busted for solicitation of prostitution. It was
- 43:32Speaker 6: a real story.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Freaking epic.
- 43:35Speaker 6: I was like, dude, if you have that kind of
- 43:39Speaker 6: money and you're still having to pay for it, you
- 43:40Speaker 6: must really be a terrible human being.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Okay.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Here's a bit of old Uncle Orty's advice to.
- 43:49Speaker 5: It was Ohio Trailer Park.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Legal brothels exist in Nevada.
- 44:00Speaker 6: If you're rich.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Get on a fucking plane.
- 44:03Speaker 5: Literally.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Four hours across the country. Do your thing. Four hours back.
- 44:09Speaker 3: You're a happy boy.
- 44:11Speaker 2: This is what Brad and I discussed last night when
- 44:14Speaker 2: we were talking about this. Why would he do that
- 44:17Speaker 2: when he has so much.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Money?
- 44:24Speaker 4: He can hire people to procure those sorts of services.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Exactly. There are escort services.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Just like cocaine.
- 44:31Speaker 2: That deal with a certain level of clientele that he
- 44:34Speaker 2: could always, and they're very discreet. You know that. I mean,
- 44:39Speaker 2: we're possessed to do this.
- 44:40Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Since Heidi Fleiss got busted, it's all gone downhill on that.
- 44:44Speaker 6: Ah, yeah.
- 44:46Speaker 4: You're not kidding.
- 44:47Speaker 5: Look, he was looking for some variety in life. And
- 44:50Speaker 5: you're going to get it.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Circle Ks exist.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Indeed.
- 44:59Speaker 6: Well played, sir.
- 44:59Speaker 5: Well played.
- 45:04Speaker 6: All right, so I saw this a minute ago, and
- 45:06Speaker 6: I feel like this is probably a perfect show to
- 45:07Speaker 6: bring this up. So with the passing of Dolly Parton
- 45:11Speaker 6: and Tim Curry in the last basically 24 hours, someone
- 45:16Speaker 6: posted this to X. My friend said it's gay 9-11
- 45:19Speaker 6: in a group chat, to which my other friend responded
- 45:22Speaker 6: with a meme of Tim Curry and Dolly Parton superimposed
- 45:26Speaker 6: over the Twin Towers.
- 45:34Speaker 5: My God.
- 45:38Speaker 3: If it was Liza Minnelli and Jim J.
- 45:41Speaker 6: Bullock.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Oh, Lordy.
- 45:46Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 45:48Speaker 6: But I mean, they are right to a point, though, because,
- 45:53Speaker 6: you know, the Dolly Parton is like staple for drag queens. So,
- 46:00Speaker 6: I mean, they're not wrong. And Tim Curry and the
- 46:02Speaker 6: whole little the whole, you know, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 6: Rocky Horror Picture Show. I don't know why I kept
- 46:09Speaker 6: getting stuck on Little Shop of Horrors.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Which is a cheap substitute for Forbidden Zone.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Yes.
- 46:15Speaker 6: Is it really?
- 46:17Speaker 4: Yes, it is.
- 46:17Speaker 3: It really is.
- 46:18Speaker 4: It really is.
- 46:19Speaker 5: You know, it's a shame that he's only going to
- 46:21Speaker 5: be remembered for that part and Home Alone 2. Not
- 46:26Speaker 5: all the other work he did.
- 46:27Speaker 3: That'd be a.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Bitch.
- 46:36Speaker 3: Can't forget Clue. He made that movie. Well, they all did.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Oh, God, did he ever make that movie?
- 46:42Speaker 6: Yeah, Clue, I don't want to necessarily say it was
- 46:45Speaker 6: an underrated movie, but in a lot of ways, it
- 46:47Speaker 6: was an underappreciated movie.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it was very underappreciated. Well, with the time. These days,
- 46:55Speaker 4: it's like it's on everybody's classic list. And for good reason.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Yes, because they all watched the Vincent Charles Project.
- 47:06Speaker 5: The best part about Clue was the fact that....
- 47:12Speaker 3: The best part about Clue was what?
- 47:16Speaker 5: The best part about Clue, though, is all the different
- 47:18Speaker 5: endings that were in theater.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 4: Back in the day, you got an ending for showings.
- 47:26Speaker 4: So if you wanted to see all the endings, you
- 47:28Speaker 4: had to go to three separate showings of the movie.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Which some of us did.
- 47:33Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Actually, we did more than that because nobody could predict
- 47:38Speaker 2: what Indy was going to be playing at that particular
- 47:40Speaker 2: time in that particular theater. So I'm not even joking
- 47:44Speaker 2: when I said I babysat for months before this movie
- 47:52Speaker 2: came out. just for the express purpose to have enough
- 47:55Speaker 2: money to go see this movie more than once. I
- 47:59Speaker 2: was that, I was, I was that adamant. I had
- 48:02Speaker 2: to see this. And at the time I didn't even
- 48:07Speaker 2: know who Tim Curry was because I hadn't seen a
- 48:11Speaker 2: Rocky horror picture show. I hadn't seen any of his
- 48:13Speaker 2: other work. So that was my first introduction to Tim Curry.
- 48:18Speaker 2: And I'm so glad it was.
- 48:25Speaker 6: He's definitely going to be missed.
- 48:27Speaker 3: And you'll receive the Order of Lenin for this.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Yes, he will.
- 48:32Speaker 4: Yes, he will.
- 48:39Speaker 3: So, Rick, I just saw your text. I'm going to
- 48:41Speaker 3: need an hour because, as is obvious of me not
- 48:43Speaker 3: knowing Tim Curry died, I don't have a fucking clue
- 48:46Speaker 3: as to what's going on in the world.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Okay.
- 48:51Speaker 3: I need to spend a little time on, you know,
- 48:55Speaker 3: red state and twitching and shit, just so I can
- 48:57Speaker 3: figure out what the fuck we're going to talk about.
- 49:00Speaker 4: So he's going to get in the shower and bring
- 49:02Speaker 4: his phone with him and read the news while he scrubs.
- 49:04Speaker 4: And then in an hour, he'll be.
- 49:06Speaker 5: Up to speed.
- 49:06Speaker 3: And I'm going to eat a French dip and drink
- 49:09Speaker 3: a beer while I'm in there too.
- 49:11Speaker 4: I can multitask.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Yes, you can. Yeah. you can.
- 49:25Speaker 6: Oh.
- 49:27Speaker 4: All right.
- 49:28Speaker 6: Well, I mean, believe it or not, we are we
- 49:30Speaker 6: are getting pretty close to out of time. So anybody
- 49:32Speaker 6: got any final stories they want.
- 49:33Speaker 5: To bring up?
- 49:37Speaker 6: Um.
- 49:39Speaker 3: No, I have no idea what's going on in the world.
- 49:43Speaker 5: Well, I just got a question. I saw a notification. Again,
- 49:47Speaker 5: I saw some notifications float across while I was driving.
- 49:51Speaker 5: Are they now trying to say Dolly was a Trumper?
- 49:56Speaker 6: A lot of people are trying.
- 49:57Speaker 2: To say that, but considering the nature of the family
- 50:03Speaker 2: and how the family... especially her sister is very anti-Trump.
- 50:08Speaker 2: She's very Democrat. I doubt seriously that she was a Trumper.
- 50:13Speaker 2: She just was a political to everybody because her job
- 50:16Speaker 2: was being an entertainer. And she took that very seriously.
- 50:20Speaker 4: That's what she said too.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Yeah. And, and, and I can't, I can honestly respect that.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Michael Jordan's another one that comes to mind because he
- 50:28Speaker 2: said the same thing, you know, and when he was
- 50:31Speaker 2: pinned about, you know, Do you support Barack Obama? And
- 50:35Speaker 2: he's like, politics doesn't enter into my business. And they
- 50:40Speaker 2: asked him why. And he said, because Republicans buy shoes too.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Why would you alienate half of the country by spouting
- 50:49Speaker 2: off on stuff that really doesn't affect your business? So
- 50:53Speaker 2: I totally respect the fact that she kept that to herself.
- 50:58Speaker 3: It's quite telling that Taylor Swift hasn't come out and
- 51:01Speaker 3: spoken about this. For you young kids, that was actually
- 51:07Speaker 3: a legitimate meme 10 years ago.
- 51:09Speaker 6: It was.
- 51:10Speaker 2: It was. I've done my research. Remember that?
- 51:15Speaker 5: Oh, good lord.
- 51:18Speaker 6: There are some things I'm trying to forget.
- 51:19Speaker 3: It was around the same time that we turned a
- 51:21Speaker 3: poor AI bot into racist.
- 51:26Speaker 4: And had a blast doing it.
- 51:28Speaker 3: And had a blast doing it. Poor Microsoft Tay.
- 51:31Speaker 2: That was so epic.
- 51:35Speaker 5: So is Keith Richards going to make it to the
- 51:37Speaker 5: end of the year?
- 51:39Speaker 2: Keith Richards is going to make it to the end
- 51:41Speaker 2: of the earth. He's going to be the last person.
- 51:44Speaker 3: The only witness of the heat death of the universe.
- 51:47Speaker 5: Yes.
- 51:49Speaker 6: Did y'all see that meme?
- 51:52Speaker 2: Did y'all see that meme? Keith Richards is holding two babies.
- 51:56Speaker 2: It said Keith Richards holding Adam and Eve.
- 51:59Speaker 6: Oh, Jesus. Oh, God.
- 52:06Speaker 2: He's going to outlive us all. We all know this.
- 52:10Speaker 2: He doesn't have blood. He's got formaldehyde flowing through his veins.
- 52:16Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:16Speaker 4: He's got every recreational drug in existence flowing through his veins.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Yeah, we can't do drugs. We have to wait for
- 52:22Speaker 3: Keith to die and then we can smoke his ashes. Nice.
- 52:30Speaker 5: I think he also had some not drugs.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 3: You've got too much blood in your cocaine.
- 52:45Speaker 5: But.
- 52:47Speaker 6: I was going to make a statement, and I don't
- 52:49Speaker 6: remember what I was going to say. I hate when
- 52:50Speaker 6: that happens. It was even relevant. I don't remember what
- 52:55Speaker 6: I was going to say.
- 52:58Speaker 4: I've got brain cloud.
- 53:01Speaker 3: We've got to do that movie.
- 53:03Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:09Speaker 3: Oh, there's so many movies we've got to do that
- 53:10Speaker 3: Janelle hasn't seen.
- 53:11Speaker 5: Which is like all of them.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Yeah, pretty much.
- 53:14Speaker 6: I was going to say that. That's a pretty extensive library.
- 53:16Speaker 6: If that's your main criteria is movies Janelle has not seen.
- 53:20Speaker 6: It kind of is.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Okay, here's the thing. If you're familiar with our show,
- 53:26Speaker 4: especially since Janelle became a regular, she has like a
- 53:31Speaker 4: shelf and it's filled with DVDs. And she had never
- 53:37Speaker 4: seen I've got that one.
- 53:40Speaker 5: I've not watched it.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. She never saw Casablanca. The DVD is in her,
- 53:45Speaker 4: on her shelf. 90% of the films she hasn't seen,
- 53:49Speaker 4: she owns. But somehow, mysteriously, she has five copies of
- 53:54Speaker 4: The Last Dragon. There's even one in the panic room.
- 54:01Speaker 3: The safety deposit copy?
- 54:03Speaker 6: Yes.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Yeah, the panic room copy?
- 54:05Speaker 4: The garage copy, yes.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Hunt for Red October. Her disc that was on her
- 54:15Speaker 3: shelf was bad. She had to go find the backup
- 54:18Speaker 3: disc that was in storage or some shit that her
- 54:21Speaker 3: mom had with Crimson Tide or something.
- 54:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like one of those Walmart double disc things.
- 54:33Speaker 3: But try to get her to watch something good like Sneakers. Oh,
- 54:36Speaker 3: that's four months in the library queue.
- 54:40Speaker 4: That And to add insult to injury, two weeks after
- 54:44Speaker 4: we did Snakers, it started streaming on Prime. And I'm like, oh,
- 54:50Speaker 4: you son of a bitch.
- 54:53Speaker 2: They listen, man. They listen.
- 54:58Speaker 3: It's nice that they listen to the show, but they
- 54:59Speaker 3: vex us.
- 55:01Speaker 4: They vex us terribly.
- 55:07Speaker 6: He tasks me.
- 55:08Speaker 5: Oh, wait, sorry.
- 55:10Speaker 6: Yes all right we are just about out of time
- 55:13Speaker 6: so let's start with aggie where can folks find you.
- 55:17Speaker 2: You can find me at aggie the barkeep over on
