- 0:07Speaker 1: studio and in Atlanta again, and guess who we have
- 0:11Speaker 1: here with us? The amazing, the amazing be Simone is
- 0:17Speaker 1: with me. Dang. I thought she's gonna give me more
- 0:19Speaker 1: like the amazing, the amazing comedian actions influencer Willing outcast
- 0:29Speaker 1: here eating problem. But I want to tell you guys something.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I was messing with her schedule all day and I
- 0:57Speaker 1: was like, she's gonna be ferocious. She's gonna be ferocious
- 1:01Speaker 1: to me, and I'm terrified. Now, I was like, are
- 1:04Speaker 1: you crazy? I was terrified because I was like, I
- 1:07Speaker 1: don't believe that I promised you. I was washing this
- 1:09Speaker 1: just like, oh, I don't know how to tell Dolly
- 1:13Speaker 1: this and writing and your ribs are great. She so
- 1:19Speaker 1: nice to me, and I was like, thank you Jesus.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Sometimes they could be hard and you don't know. But
- 1:24Speaker 1: I want people to know this because sometimes you see
- 1:27Speaker 1: someone on camera on your phone and you assume stuff
- 1:30Speaker 1: about them when you don't know, and it's just like,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I meet you and I have this amazing story to tell,
- 1:36Speaker 1: and I want people to know the other side, I'm
- 1:38Speaker 1: trying to keep my energy and I'm actually really really tired,
- 1:40Speaker 1: and you know how that goes. I'm like making sure
- 1:42Speaker 1: my energy is up because I'm actually excited to do this.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I've never done anything like this. Yeah, cooking on camera. Yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 1: like cooking and you know, and then you got to
- 1:50Speaker 1: cook your broke dish. Yeah. She can't even put on
- 1:54Speaker 1: a girl show for us. She got Yeah, but one day,
- 1:57Speaker 1: you know, she invite us. You know, maybe we could
- 1:59Speaker 1: have her rich dish. Yeah, rich dishes like like Chipotle.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So I eat Chipotle every day all the time. I
- 2:08Speaker 1: had it today. I'm gonna have to find out at
- 2:11Speaker 1: the end of the interview. What be Simona orders Chipotle? Yeah,
- 2:14Speaker 1: because I like, oh, I feel like you're gonna be healthy.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I order all the like. But see what you thought
- 2:23Speaker 1: always vegan. I'm not vegan. I just don't. I'm pesketarian,
- 2:26Speaker 1: Like I eat salmon sometime, but I don't eat meat.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But I eat dairy. I'm actually fasting from dairy right now.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But why because I'm doing a seven day fast with
- 2:35Speaker 1: my team so we can have clarity because we have
- 2:37Speaker 1: something coming up in eight days. Oh, I'm we're about
- 2:41Speaker 1: we're about to learn. What do you have us eating today? Okay?
- 2:44Speaker 1: So we are eating spaghetti, y'all. But today it's a
- 2:48Speaker 1: little different than my struggle male because when I used
- 2:50Speaker 1: to struggle, I was eating meat, so it was like
- 2:53Speaker 1: regular ground beef. But now I haven't had meat for
- 2:57Speaker 1: six years excluding seafood. Um, So we're using impossible meat
- 3:02Speaker 1: and now I've never you're not even going to know.
- 3:07Speaker 1: If you didn't know, you wouldn't know. Well, I'm just
- 3:10Speaker 1: curious to see, Like, how do you know an impossible
- 3:12Speaker 1: meat is cooked? Because I would assume it's fake meat.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It's brown. Oh, well, you're gonna today, so we're gonna
- 3:19Speaker 1: have and then what are you gonna name this? So
- 3:20Speaker 1: when we're looking at the cookbook, what is be simone
- 3:25Speaker 1: spaghetti going to be called? Oh my god, can I
- 3:28Speaker 1: think about that is gonna be called? I was gonna
- 3:31Speaker 1: be You got to the end. Why don't you start
- 3:33Speaker 1: cooking for okay? Okay, okay, let's go to the kitchen.
- 3:35Speaker 1: That's giddy. So first I wait, am I telling you
- 3:38Speaker 1: how I do it? Tell me? Yeah, you gotta walk
- 3:40Speaker 1: us through it. First of all, I don't cook, Okay,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't go to the grocery store. You know, I
- 3:46Speaker 1: don't have a car, which I talked about all the time,
- 3:48Speaker 1: so I'm definitely not going to get no groceries. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: uber eat. I eat out. So when was the last
- 3:56Speaker 1: time you've in the kitchen? When he was wrote, Yo,
- 4:01Speaker 1: that's where I wanted to be out. Okay, guys, I
- 4:03Speaker 1: want to be like the last time I wasn't again.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Now what's the last time I cooked? Oh? I did
- 4:10Speaker 1: get high? Can I say that on here? You can say, okay,
- 4:13Speaker 1: this is and I'm not gonna lie. I made some
- 4:16Speaker 1: cookies baked. Did you actually make them from scratch? For
- 4:19Speaker 1: the little bit scratch tall house? They like that. My
- 4:27Speaker 1: cousin came over and she bought them. But that was like, okay,
- 4:30Speaker 1: the little squares you just put on the things I know.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I love my brother, I love them. Oh my god.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Just for the record, you should always keep that in
- 4:38Speaker 1: your house. So like if we go on your fridge,
- 4:42Speaker 1: there's no food, nothing is there water? Like what I
- 4:45Speaker 1: go into your house and like, smote, I'm gonna hit
- 4:47Speaker 1: that fridge. I open it. Did not do that. There's nothing.
- 4:49Speaker 1: There's alivera plant because the hookah fell in my lap
- 4:52Speaker 1: the coal and I had on shorts and I had
- 4:55Speaker 1: to heal that. So I rub alivera in between my
- 4:57Speaker 1: thighs daily. But other than that, there's nothing in my fridge.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I didn't know el overt could do that. It helps.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You got the actual quant. Okay, so we go in there.
- 5:04Speaker 1: It's like we're gonna starve to death. There's not even
- 5:07Speaker 1: leftovers of what Oh my god? Okay, okay, but if
- 5:13Speaker 1: we have leftovers of this, can take it? Yeah, yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 1: go for it, all right. So what we're gonna do?
- 5:18Speaker 1: She wants to take her. That's how you know someone's real.
- 5:22Speaker 1: All right. She boiled the noodles already for us. So
- 5:24Speaker 1: they're right there because he was not about to boil them.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You know, they take a little long. Did you test
- 5:28Speaker 1: to see me? Was ready to throw it on the wall.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You want to start throwing out because and we have
- 5:36Speaker 1: the impossible meats? You guys oil with that? Okay, well,
- 5:46Speaker 1: we're gonna take a little bit of oil here. Let
- 5:48Speaker 1: me oh, I know I got out of shot. Hold on,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Guys. Have y'all ever had like you never had,
- 5:55Speaker 1: like a vegan burger? Yes, like sluty vegan or something
- 5:58Speaker 1: like that, or like, let me tell you before I leave,
- 6:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna have slutty vegan. Girl. You don't even you
- 6:03Speaker 1: wouldn't even know. It's not so I love my guilty pleasure.
- 6:07Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know. This is like, uh,
- 6:10Speaker 1: if anyone's in town and they're like, what do you
- 6:12Speaker 1: want to eat? Thank you? You're so hilarious. He's a mother,
- 6:16Speaker 1: she's a wife. Oh shit, I haven't done this in
- 6:20Speaker 1: a long time. Oh god, I'm over here like crisco,
- 6:24Speaker 1: all right, but a little bit of that. So I
- 6:26Speaker 1: only assumed usually with ground beef, there's fat in it.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I feel like you're gonna need more than that. More crisco. Yeah,
- 6:32Speaker 1: I want to do too much grease. Oh really, No,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I'm learning. I mean, I don't know what impared. No, no, no, impossible.
- 6:42Speaker 1: We're gonna figure it out together, all right. So we
- 6:45Speaker 1: turned the oven on the stoves and we're just gonna
- 6:51Speaker 1: put it in there, y'all. And now impossible me isn't me?
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's not it's uh, there's one of these things. Oh yes, perfect,
- 6:58Speaker 1: thank you. And then what we're gonna do is we
- 7:00Speaker 1: have all this seasoning. I'm a pepper girl. I love pepper.
- 7:04Speaker 1: We got Tony's. Don't put too much because you don't
- 7:07Speaker 1: want you to clesh fraw to be out the root.
- 7:09Speaker 1: So we're gonna that. It was sizzling quick. Do you
- 7:15Speaker 1: want Do you feel like you're on one of those
- 7:20Speaker 1: contestant cooking shows. That's admit us to make this meal.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It's oars sizzling quick. Oh it is turning brown. See
- 7:26Speaker 1: for all y'all listeners, it's turning round. So I'm surprised
- 7:31Speaker 1: you don't do like spaghetti with meat balls. Oh yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 1: they had been possible meat balls. Oh no, I'm saying
- 7:36Speaker 1: for your broth this you used to do ground ground
- 7:39Speaker 1: beefs Yep? Was it because it was like cheaper and easier.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I just I grew up eating spaghetti all the time, spaghetti,
- 7:46Speaker 1: hot dogs, burgers, drunk. You know I didn't really, You're right,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I should have put more grease. This is too high.
- 7:56Speaker 1: It's burning. I think it's not burning, but it's not okay,
- 7:59Speaker 1: turning stick to the panda. So yeah, I didn't grow
- 8:03Speaker 1: up eating healthy. So what was going on at the
- 8:07Speaker 1: time when you were consuming hot dogs, spaghetti and all
- 8:11Speaker 1: of that. Let's go back to Pleasant Girl. I just
- 8:14Speaker 1: got back from Dallas, Texas. Um the house I grew
- 8:17Speaker 1: up in. Actually, my grandmother still stays there, literally, in
- 8:20Speaker 1: the hood of Dallas, Pleasant Grove. You know, she has
- 8:24Speaker 1: a nice hone. She fixed it up and stuff. But
- 8:26Speaker 1: you know, older people, they ain't never gonna leave. So
- 8:29Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, you want to stay here, you
- 8:31Speaker 1: don't want to leave. Her daughter lives around the corner.
- 8:34Speaker 1: She's been there her whole life. You know, she owns
- 8:36Speaker 1: the house, so you know they're not gonna leave. But
- 8:40Speaker 1: Pleasant Girl was where I'm from, and I mean, it's
- 8:43Speaker 1: the hood of Dallas. But you know what's crazy. When
- 8:46Speaker 1: I was growing up, I didn't It wasn't like I
- 8:47Speaker 1: felt like I grew up in poverty. I never knew,
- 8:50Speaker 1: you know, until I was older, like an adult, and
- 8:52Speaker 1: I was like, it's just like the hood. Now do
- 8:55Speaker 1: you think that's because then the environment you were in
- 8:58Speaker 1: was all the same or like what made you realize
- 9:02Speaker 1: later I needed for nothing? It wasn't like I grew
- 9:05Speaker 1: up in, like, you know, a horrible living situation. So
- 9:10Speaker 1: it was it was good. You know, all the fresh gear,
- 9:13Speaker 1: did I I mean, yeah, I'm like, you know, and
- 9:19Speaker 1: then you know, I got older. In high school, I
- 9:21Speaker 1: started doing hair and my grandmother's kitchen. So I was
- 9:24Speaker 1: making bank, y'all. In high school, I really thought I
- 9:27Speaker 1: was popping. I started traveling and stuff because I was
- 9:29Speaker 1: making so much money. I didn't have bills and I
- 9:31Speaker 1: was living with my grandmother. So I mean for entrepreneur,
- 9:34Speaker 1: very early early, And where'd you learn how to do
- 9:37Speaker 1: hair from? I taught myself. I just randomly started breaking
- 9:40Speaker 1: my doll's hair. That's one moms it. So I randomly
- 9:43Speaker 1: started doing hair, and then I was good at it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: If I see something, I can do it. Yeah, you
- 9:50Speaker 1: know how badly I want to learn how to do
- 9:52Speaker 1: corn worl I'm gonna I'm gonna test out this theory
- 9:55Speaker 1: on dolls. I guarantee it's not gonna come out as
- 9:57Speaker 1: good as yours. Yeah. So I started making money. Your
- 10:00Speaker 1: young entrepreneur, I did a lot of stuff. I was
- 10:04Speaker 1: in network marketing. Like anything I put my mind to,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I could sell it. But I would only sell stuff
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm believe in though, so it didn't have to be
- 10:11Speaker 1: like you know, so commercially and addie. I was like,
- 10:15Speaker 1: if I like the product, I'm gonna sell it. Where
- 10:17Speaker 1: did you get your entrepreneurs from. I don't know, was
- 10:21Speaker 1: there there was no entrepreneurs in your family? Now up around,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm like the first that I'm in. My dad's a pastor,
- 10:28Speaker 1: my mom was a pharmacist. Yeah, my grandmother's are tired.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So I used to always think that in order to
- 10:35Speaker 1: be an entrepreneur. Now you have just ended my theory
- 10:38Speaker 1: that you had to have grown up in a home
- 10:41Speaker 1: where you had came by one. I don't think so.
- 10:45Speaker 1: So there's people that go to school for entrepreneurship, and
- 10:47Speaker 1: I'm always like, but I feel like our generation is like,
- 10:50Speaker 1: not first generation. Of course, there's been entrepreneurs for decades decades,
- 10:53Speaker 1: but our generation is a lot of first generation millionaires
- 10:57Speaker 1: and entrepreneurs. Like it's like, you know, you know, we
- 11:01Speaker 1: just have access to a lot of stuff, and when
- 11:03Speaker 1: you believe you can do something, you literally can. So
- 11:07Speaker 1: so I just knew. I was always in the arts.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I grew up like dancing, acting, theater, doing hair, anything creative.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I did not want to do anything outside of that.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Going to get a job was never in my cards.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It was never even thought about it. No one in
- 11:20Speaker 1: your household was like, get a job, Well, obviously you
- 11:22Speaker 1: started obviously like I had 's like I was a waitress,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I worked at um boutique I had, but I never
- 11:29Speaker 1: I knew it was all temporary. Yeah, I used that
- 11:31Speaker 1: to like save my money and at night I was
- 11:34Speaker 1: in the studio where I was hustling or you know,
- 11:36Speaker 1: doing doing hair. What was your childhood dreams? I wanted
- 11:40Speaker 1: to be a hair stylist and do music. I wanted
- 11:43Speaker 1: to own hair salons and be I thought I was
- 11:45Speaker 1: gonna be on story or something that never happened. Well,
- 11:49Speaker 1: not each, not yet, not yet. So um, so you're
- 11:56Speaker 1: you're actively you say you want to do hair and
- 11:58Speaker 1: all this stuff, but you actually aren't doing it in
- 12:00Speaker 1: high school. So technically you're hitting these milestones. So what happens?
- 12:03Speaker 1: You end up moving the needle forward more every time
- 12:06Speaker 1: you accomplish something. Yeah, and just you know, the more
- 12:09Speaker 1: I did, the more I was never satisfied. So I
- 12:13Speaker 1: always wanted the next name. That's a good and a
- 12:15Speaker 1: bad thing, y'all. Like when she reached that goal, it's like, Okay,
- 12:18Speaker 1: what's next, what's next? What's next? But you also have
- 12:20Speaker 1: to appreciate all the milestones that you did hit. I
- 12:23Speaker 1: don't think I still think I have a problem with
- 12:25Speaker 1: that to this day, Like I'm appreciating the milestones kind
- 12:28Speaker 1: of like Okay, I did that, was next? I did
- 12:30Speaker 1: that was next? Okay, great, Okay, what's next? Like I
- 12:33Speaker 1: did that already. I feel like one of the consistent
- 12:37Speaker 1: things I noticed been interviewing successful, successful, successful people is
- 12:42Speaker 1: that you guys hit the milestone and then you're like,
- 12:46Speaker 1: what's next? So if that was good, she's kind of
- 12:50Speaker 1: a drug, like I don't know, like that manifestation ship
- 12:54Speaker 1: and like reaching your goals. It's just like proven to
- 12:57Speaker 1: yourself and it's not a game. But it's like kind
- 13:02Speaker 1: of like anything I say out of my mouth, anything
- 13:03Speaker 1: I put my mind too, is going to happen. I
- 13:05Speaker 1: don't worry about the how, I don't worry about the wind.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I just know what's gonna happen. Where do you think
- 13:09Speaker 1: you get You got that from them? God? Seriously, God,
- 13:13Speaker 1: Like it was just in me from birth. I don't,
- 13:16Speaker 1: honestly don't know, Like I have no idea, just I
- 13:21Speaker 1: was born with it. I guess. So looking at you today,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you're a wall and out. You're a viral sensation influencer.
- 13:29Speaker 1: That's what they say. What's the definition of sensation? Because
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'm canceled, You're canceled. That's good. That's good though it
- 13:38Speaker 1: is honestly, it's really good because as long as people
- 13:41Speaker 1: are talking about you, obsessing over you and watching your
- 13:44Speaker 1: videos and having something to say, you're on everybody's mind,
- 13:47Speaker 1: which because you slave it over the stone. This takes
- 13:50Speaker 1: a while, it's I know, but it's just some still
- 13:53Speaker 1: a ran pieces. So was there ever point in your
- 13:58Speaker 1: career coming up that you doubted yourself where something happened
- 14:02Speaker 1: where you were like, Okay, maybe I'm doing a bit much.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I wouldn't say doubt it myself, but it's definitely been
- 14:10Speaker 1: mill stones, Like, I mean, you know, tough things to
- 14:14Speaker 1: fight through, but I always knew. I never in my
- 14:17Speaker 1: mind got to a point where I was like, this
- 14:18Speaker 1: isn't gonna happen. Never, But there was a point where
- 14:22Speaker 1: there was like a little bit of oh my god, yeah,
- 14:25Speaker 1: I've never been out the house I was living in.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I was making a thousand dollars a week with no
- 14:30Speaker 1: bills at like twenty years old. That is a lot
- 14:33Speaker 1: of fun, like just doing hair and kicking it and traveling,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and I you know, then I was like, Okay, I'm
- 14:39Speaker 1: gonna save some money. I'm gonna get a car. I
- 14:41Speaker 1: spent like seven grand on a car or something. And
- 14:44Speaker 1: then I was working at a strip club, not stripping.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I don't think nobody would come see me shrip and
- 14:49Speaker 1: I'll be doing the chicken hands. Um. But I was
- 14:55Speaker 1: a waitress and I was like I had I hated it.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I saved my money, got my car, and I was like,
- 15:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna save up three thousand dollars. I'm gonna moved
- 15:03Speaker 1: to Atlanta. Why Atlanta? It was either Atlanta or l A.
- 15:07Speaker 1: In l A, I was like, in my mind, way
- 15:09Speaker 1: too expensive. And I came to visit Atlanta a lot.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I love the culture. I love kicking it with my
- 15:14Speaker 1: people out here. I love the blackness. Yeah, I was
- 15:17Speaker 1: just saying that. Today I went out and it was
- 15:21Speaker 1: the first time I went out and everybody was black everywhere. Yeah.
- 15:25Speaker 1: The only dun type was I was at Walmart and
- 15:27Speaker 1: I felt like all the shows were empty and I
- 15:30Speaker 1: didn't know what we're trying to get. I was trying, yeah, exactly. Yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I was trying to pick up your groceries, right, trying
- 15:37Speaker 1: to pick up my struggle meal. But yeah. So I
- 15:40Speaker 1: just moved with three thousand dollars. That money was going
- 15:43Speaker 1: in a month. I was like, what, So then what
- 15:45Speaker 1: did you do? Girl? I got three jobs. I was waitressing.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I uh, you know, served food at the tavern at
- 15:54Speaker 1: fix Spots. I don't even know if that's there anymore.
- 15:56Speaker 1: M I worked at a boutique shout out to Tea.
- 15:58Speaker 1: He gave me my first little job out here or
- 16:00Speaker 1: um yeah, and I did hear on the side, but
- 16:03Speaker 1: it was bad and I didn't did you. Me and
- 16:08Speaker 1: my best friend from Dallas moved out here. She and
- 16:10Speaker 1: she was one of the people that told me. She
- 16:11Speaker 1: was like, if you do not move to Atlanta, then
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be your friend of her, Like you're
- 16:15Speaker 1: holding yourself back and you're meaning basically a great friend
- 16:20Speaker 1: out to Pharaoh. Yeah. Yeah, so we struggled for a
- 16:25Speaker 1: long time. I didn't have a bed for like six months. Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I like that. I know. I let me tell you, like,
- 16:31Speaker 1: when I was going through that ship, I was not
- 16:33Speaker 1: like woe is me. I was just like, this is
- 16:36Speaker 1: my life right now, but as a temporary yes, And
- 16:39Speaker 1: you have to remember that if you truly believe it,
- 16:42Speaker 1: it will be temporary. I knew it was. Yes, I
- 16:44Speaker 1: had nights where I cried, Yes I had stressful moments,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but it was never like I'm sleeping on the floor.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It was like, all right, we in grind mode, like
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'm about to make it. I just gotta keep putting
- 16:55Speaker 1: one for after. You can go back on my YouTube, y'all.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Like when I first moved to Atlanta, I have YouTube
- 16:59Speaker 1: of me like playing gospel music. It's still on YouTube
- 17:03Speaker 1: crying the video, like our our basement flooded. We were
- 17:09Speaker 1: living in like the hood. Man, it was some get
- 17:12Speaker 1: But this whole move to Atlanta was in person. What
- 17:16Speaker 1: um I wanted have spaghetti sauce to this? Or yes,
- 17:19Speaker 1: we're gonna mix it all together. Okay, I think, yeah,
- 17:22Speaker 1: you probably need to go We're gonna mix it together.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You so you want to add the sauce to the meat.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Is that how you do? Yeah? I haven't cooked spaghetti
- 17:32Speaker 1: in a decade, so honestly, okay, But it just goes
- 17:36Speaker 1: all together, right, it does. But you want you can't
- 17:39Speaker 1: just put the noodles in here, right, Because we're gonna
- 17:42Speaker 1: put all this in the pot. I'm gonna trust you
- 17:44Speaker 1: to do it. That's that's smart and a little dry.
- 17:48Speaker 1: You want it? Edit this out perfect? Add sauce. Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 1: let's put the sauce on jingles because they dry sauce.
- 18:01Speaker 1: And then we're gonna endit me right, you're asking me.
- 18:05Speaker 1: We need our own cooking, so yep, and then we're
- 18:08Speaker 1: gonna mix this all together. It is gonna be good.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Slide this sad and then you need to heat it
- 18:15Speaker 1: up again or no, let me see? Uh maybe not?
- 18:20Speaker 1: I think you will? You do? Okay? Should I turn
- 18:22Speaker 1: it all low for you? Yo? You need a cooking,
- 18:30Speaker 1: so you need a cooking. You would be you would
- 18:34Speaker 1: be great. So you're what was the mission for you
- 18:39Speaker 1: coming out, say, Atlanta? What was your end goal in
- 18:41Speaker 1: your mind? I'm gonna be a uh superstar. I'm gonna
- 18:46Speaker 1: do music. I'm gonna make it. I'm gonna do music.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna I mean, of course acting and I was
- 18:50Speaker 1: always in theater. I never never thought about myself being
- 18:55Speaker 1: a comedian. Stand up comedian is ever ever. So you're
- 19:00Speaker 1: out here with jobs. How does a girl moving out
- 19:05Speaker 1: here with three jobs, struggling pursuing music end up becoming
- 19:11Speaker 1: be simone? As we all don't like what what happened.
- 19:14Speaker 1: What were those moves that happened? Really? I mean I
- 19:17Speaker 1: was in the studio every night, I was recording. I
- 19:19Speaker 1: put out a project. None of that stopped. Like I
- 19:22Speaker 1: put out a project, it's it's still got music on
- 19:24Speaker 1: iTunes and you can like look it up. Um, I
- 19:27Speaker 1: make like ten dollars a month off of it. Nobody
- 19:31Speaker 1: listens to that. Um. And you know I was in
- 19:36Speaker 1: the studio. It was literally like get a bed or
- 19:39Speaker 1: pay for studios. But once social media took off, like Instagram,
- 19:46Speaker 1: I took advantage of that. If this is what's popping
- 19:48Speaker 1: right now, this is what I'm gonna use. And I
- 19:51Speaker 1: took advantage of Instagram eight years ago when you know,
- 19:55Speaker 1: it wasn't that many people on They're doing comedy, It
- 19:57Speaker 1: wasn't oversaturated, it wasn't it was a brand new act.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So you got an Instagram before fun? Yes, yes, I
- 20:04Speaker 1: didn't have you didn't you know? I use Instagram, but
- 20:08Speaker 1: I came from my Space. You know, use my space.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I had my top eight, I had my music on
- 20:13Speaker 1: my Space. I was, you know, yeah popular on my Space.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And I took it to p Interest, and I took
- 20:18Speaker 1: it to Facebook. Then I took it to Instagram, so
- 20:21Speaker 1: my I think my you know tribe or whatever followed
- 20:24Speaker 1: me all over. But of course it was nothing like
- 20:27Speaker 1: how it is now. But um, social media made me
- 20:30Speaker 1: a comedian. I'm telling you all, people will tell you
- 20:32Speaker 1: what they want from you. Do not without compromising who
- 20:36Speaker 1: you are in your roles. Give the people what they want.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I would post my music, it would get four thousand likes.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I would post a comedy video, it would get four
- 20:43Speaker 1: hundred thousand. Well, I'm gonna give you all this, you know,
- 20:47Speaker 1: and you can still do it in certain ways. Do
- 20:49Speaker 1: a comedy skit and play your music in the background,
- 20:52Speaker 1: or do a comedy skit and shout out to music later.
- 20:55Speaker 1: But they didn't want my music, you know, so I
- 20:58Speaker 1: gave them comedy. If you had to range yourself between entrepreneur, comedian,
- 21:04Speaker 1: music artists talent on screen like after actress, which one
- 21:10Speaker 1: would you say? Would you rate yourself as number one entrepreneur?
- 21:14Speaker 1: I was gonna say that. I didn't want to say
- 21:17Speaker 1: you like sneur because everything is under that umbrella, and
- 21:22Speaker 1: it's Jesus, I hate that click click What does that do?
- 21:24Speaker 1: It's just it's just the light, the light lighting you're
- 21:29Speaker 1: so cute. Should we put the top on? Let it
- 21:31Speaker 1: get warm? You are absolutely adorable. Yeah, entrepreneur. Everything else
- 21:37Speaker 1: is under that umbrella. So entrepreneur is my comedy side, like,
- 21:42Speaker 1: you know, doing stand up, studying that, selling merge, making
- 21:46Speaker 1: people laugh, putting out a stand up special, having them watch,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know, like all of that is entrepreneurial. And then
- 21:52Speaker 1: um be Simon beauty, cosmetic line, entrepreneur this, you know,
- 21:57Speaker 1: and and there's so much of touch on with you
- 22:00Speaker 1: because you're so multifacet I've watched you over the years,
- 22:04Speaker 1: and I've watched you. I want to say, I don't
- 22:07Speaker 1: want to say it, and I get it wrong and
- 22:09Speaker 1: then you but I want to say, I've watched you
- 22:13Speaker 1: make your first million on Instagram. I watched you experience
- 22:18Speaker 1: to tell you something, it was one of the best.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm one of those people that get really happy for
- 22:22Speaker 1: other people. You went a lot out. I'm like, I'm like, yeah, yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 1: go for it. But that was one of the first
- 22:33Speaker 1: things I manifested publicly, like with my audience, and that's
- 22:38Speaker 1: to me, not gonna tear up for sure, trying not to.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I felt like from a woman's standpoint, that was not
- 22:49Speaker 1: from a woman. Just from anyone's standpoint, it was monumental
- 22:52Speaker 1: that you you literally opened up the behind the scenes
- 22:55Speaker 1: and like what it felt like, and you documented it wild.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It was one of the most amazing things I had
- 23:01Speaker 1: ever seen. And I I was I was impactive and
- 23:07Speaker 1: it even from and you know how hard it took
- 23:21Speaker 1: to take the chance. And I think in your case,
- 23:24Speaker 1: you were buying the stuff up front. Yeah, so you
- 23:26Speaker 1: needed it to sell, so you're like, you know, yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 1: you were doing things. But even going into that, like
- 23:34Speaker 1: people don't understand. Like the biggest lesson that I even
- 23:37Speaker 1: got from it was the belief because I publicly said
- 23:42Speaker 1: I'm going to be a millionaire. I said it first,
- 23:45Speaker 1: but not just to myself, not to my friends. I
- 23:47Speaker 1: said it publicly, like on April five, I'm gonna have
- 23:49Speaker 1: a million dollars in my account. Once the cameras went off,
- 23:52Speaker 1: I was like, all right, Like, now what do we do?
- 23:55Speaker 1: Like you, I believed it, though, like having that belief
- 23:58Speaker 1: publicly and putting it out there are like y'all have
- 24:01Speaker 1: to believe what you are saying and what you are
- 24:03Speaker 1: chasing and what you are fighting for, Like it's the
- 24:06Speaker 1: belief you're not. People are so worried about how it's
- 24:09Speaker 1: gonna happen and when it's gonna happen that they don't
- 24:12Speaker 1: believe it's going to happen. Stop worrying about the how
- 24:14Speaker 1: and the when. God got that. You just believe it's coming. Now.
- 24:18Speaker 1: When you look at a project as an entrepreneur, do
- 24:22Speaker 1: you look at your passion and like the vision of
- 24:24Speaker 1: your your idea come into life, like your beauty line
- 24:27Speaker 1: and came to life. Or do you look at the
- 24:29Speaker 1: numbers gotta make sense? No, because it always don't make sense.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I got a thirty dollar be some own beauty fucking
- 24:37Speaker 1: truck that I had a whole vision for it, and
- 24:39Speaker 1: it's been sitting for a year at the warehouse. Like
- 24:42Speaker 1: that didn't makes sense, But I I knew what made
- 24:45Speaker 1: sense to me. Sometimes I lose money sometimes, like I'm
- 24:48Speaker 1: not money driven, though I'm not scared to invest and
- 24:50Speaker 1: lose money and put out money in hopes of something
- 24:55Speaker 1: greater coming from it. I don't hold on into money
- 24:57Speaker 1: like that. Do you ever get scared about going by
- 25:00Speaker 1: to a spaghetti No? No, because you even die forbid.
- 25:06Speaker 1: If I did, I know how to get how to
- 25:08Speaker 1: get out of it. You know what I mean, Like
- 25:10Speaker 1: I did it once. Anything that you have done one time,
- 25:12Speaker 1: you can do again. It's really really in you, like
- 25:15Speaker 1: you can do it again. You know. But let's let's
- 25:18Speaker 1: sit down, because I feel like I am You're literally
- 25:21Speaker 1: at the soul for all y'all listeners. We've been talking
- 25:25Speaker 1: this whole time. We haven't even set a right think
- 25:29Speaker 1: about to make your plaints because I'm feeling like, yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna love it because I'm starving. Thank you and impossibly,
- 25:40Speaker 1: she said, thank you, thank you so much. This is impossible.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Like that's more than enough. Trust me, I'll be asking
- 25:50Speaker 1: so many questions. We see I want to bager scoop.
- 25:53Speaker 1: See okay, okay, I gotta get the good scoop. But
- 25:59Speaker 1: out of stuff, get littlemo and flipped it like that.
- 26:02Speaker 1: You know what I was kind of secretly hoping when
- 26:04Speaker 1: I was shopping she would have added cheese, but then
- 26:07Speaker 1: it was vegan, but you're not vegan. I'm not vegan.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I actually would have added cheese if I wasn't doing
- 26:12Speaker 1: you know fast. Okay, Let's let's try this. Okay, their guy,
- 26:17Speaker 1: thank you for this food. We're about to receive the nourishment.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Of our bodies. And I hope she liked it. Amen,
- 26:24Speaker 1: I will definitely like it. There's only three ingredients, y'all. Well, actually,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I mean besides the season. So as far as affordability,
- 26:31Speaker 1: this this is extremely affordable. Wow, you can't even say
- 26:39Speaker 1: it's impossible meat. I had no idea, but it makes
- 26:42Speaker 1: me feel better knowing it's impossible meat does it? I
- 26:45Speaker 1: feel like people that eat meat it makes them feel
- 26:47Speaker 1: grossed out. Not grossed out, but like I won't want me. Oh.
- 26:51Speaker 1: My guilty pleasure is eating at vegan restaurants, Like I
- 26:55Speaker 1: just yeah, they have really good vegan. But then when
- 26:58Speaker 1: I go to a vegan person or to tell them
- 27:00Speaker 1: like the restaurant like, They're like, that's not real vegan.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I'm like, oh really, okay, well I still like it.
- 27:07Speaker 1: They're not real vegan. Maybe they like do raw they're
- 27:10Speaker 1: like the vegan. Yeah, I don't know what they expect,
- 27:14Speaker 1: but this is the vegan that I'm talking about. It
- 27:16Speaker 1: tastes like real food. Have you been to real food
- 27:22Speaker 1: l A and in l A? But yeah, but apparently,
- 27:27Speaker 1: how do you do interviews like this? Because that's so good? Yeah?
- 27:31Speaker 1: Going going Almo, take another bite? Listeners will go home
- 27:35Speaker 1: and make this. It's so good, y'all. The meat is
- 27:38Speaker 1: busting tomato sauce. Oh, I'm glad you did get the
- 27:42Speaker 1: sauce because I thought I was like, what if she
- 27:44Speaker 1: gets like the white sauce. Yeah. I like the white
- 27:48Speaker 1: sause though, but oh but I mean it's theory in it.
- 27:52Speaker 1: So that was that was bad looking out and no
- 27:56Speaker 1: bees on this challenge. Wish me please pray for me
- 28:01Speaker 1: because I eat a lot of dairy. Could you have
- 28:04Speaker 1: predicted your success? Did you predict it? Yes? But I
- 28:07Speaker 1: didn't know what it looked like. I knew I was
- 28:09Speaker 1: going to be successful, but I didn't know what it
- 28:12Speaker 1: looked like. That's all. When people asked, like, where do
- 28:14Speaker 1: you see yourself in five years? What do you see here?
- 28:15Speaker 1: I'm like, I didn't see myself here five years ago,
- 28:18Speaker 1: Like every little detail wasn't mapped out. I just knew
- 28:21Speaker 1: I was going to be successful. I knew I was
- 28:23Speaker 1: going to be financially stable. I knew I was going
- 28:25Speaker 1: to be doing what I loved. Whatever that looks like.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And that changes as you get older, and the things
- 28:30Speaker 1: I cared about when I first started, I don't care
- 28:32Speaker 1: about now you're like what the dream car? Like I
- 28:36Speaker 1: don't haven't had a car for three years. Like those
- 28:38Speaker 1: are things that you you have on your list? This that, that,
- 28:41Speaker 1: that the house. Do you think that's like a system
- 28:43Speaker 1: of like coming from being broke, Because yeah, I do
- 28:47Speaker 1: want the lamber getting yours for all those and that's fine,
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'm saying, you know, like it changed as you got older,
- 28:54Speaker 1: Like do I want this truly because I want this
- 28:57Speaker 1: and it goes with my lifestyle and I need it
- 28:59Speaker 1: and I truly desire in my heart? Or is this
- 29:01Speaker 1: what I see on Instagram? Is this what I see
- 29:03Speaker 1: all successful black people doing? Is this what I've been
- 29:05Speaker 1: conditioned to think I want? I don't want that. I
- 29:08Speaker 1: actually love being driven around. I actually love sleeping in
- 29:11Speaker 1: the back of black trucks without people talking to me.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Actually love checking emails in the car and not worrying
- 29:16Speaker 1: about making a left or right. I actually love not
- 29:19Speaker 1: going anywhere when I'm in Atlanta and staying at home.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Why do I need a car? I travel nine of
- 29:25Speaker 1: the year, you know what I mean? So when you
- 29:28Speaker 1: really think about what you personally need, that changes, and
- 29:32Speaker 1: don't let society or culture make you think you have
- 29:36Speaker 1: to go out and get these things. I didn't get
- 29:38Speaker 1: a car, but I did buy a diamond necklace and
- 29:40Speaker 1: it looks amazing. But but but I like jewelry, you know,
- 29:45Speaker 1: a little dainty. I love jewelry so cool. I got
- 29:48Speaker 1: the jewelry, but I don't need the car. Cool people
- 29:51Speaker 1: like buy property. Do I need a huge house right now? No,
- 29:53Speaker 1: I'm single with no kids. Get a condo, like you
- 29:57Speaker 1: know what I mean. Just do what works for you.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Do what works for you, don't do what society makes
- 30:02Speaker 1: you think you need to do. Do you feel like
- 30:04Speaker 1: you look at money differently from when you were broke.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I look at it the exact same way. My mindset
- 30:10Speaker 1: with money hasn't changed. I'm a little more like I
- 30:12Speaker 1: have an accountant now, I have a financial advisor. Like
- 30:15Speaker 1: I'm more um I would say educated with my money,
- 30:19Speaker 1: where to put it, how to invest it. But I've
- 30:21Speaker 1: never had an attachment to money. Money just flows to me.
- 30:24Speaker 1: To you, I feel like you'd use money as a
- 30:27Speaker 1: tool to make more money, absolutely absolutely, But I feel
- 30:30Speaker 1: like that was your relationship your entire life. I just
- 30:33Speaker 1: want to be financially stable. You don't want to live
- 30:36Speaker 1: paycheck to patrick. I want to be able to have
- 30:39Speaker 1: convenience and live the way I want to live. Anything
- 30:42Speaker 1: extra on top of that, it's just a bonus. So
- 30:44Speaker 1: would you be comfortable taking me back to when you
- 30:46Speaker 1: were working those three jobs? But it was like quitting day.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Oh my god, Like I want to know the quitting
- 30:53Speaker 1: day or the fire. Yeah. I don't think I ever
- 30:56Speaker 1: got fired, but I remember quitting. Here are out the
- 31:00Speaker 1: hair are us, man, I never had my boothrin And
- 31:02Speaker 1: them ladies was like, it's okay, we know we watched
- 31:05Speaker 1: the tapes. You didn't do no clients, man, those my girls,
- 31:10Speaker 1: Cat and Ashley they had they hired me. I was
- 31:13Speaker 1: a hair artist ambassador while working at their Salona here
- 31:15Speaker 1: in Atlanta, and um, I remember telling them like, I'm
- 31:18Speaker 1: making more money on social media than I am here
- 31:22Speaker 1: and it just doesn't make sense for me to do
- 31:24Speaker 1: hair anymore. Like I was over working for not a
- 31:28Speaker 1: lot of money, you know what I mean. And I
- 31:31Speaker 1: even if you're still a hair stalace or you have
- 31:34Speaker 1: your own brand or whatever, you have got to find
- 31:37Speaker 1: a way to make money without labor. You have got
- 31:41Speaker 1: to find a way to make money without physical labor.
- 31:44Speaker 1: So if I am a hair styalus while I'm sleep.
- 31:47Speaker 1: There should be something on my website that is selling.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I should have a product. I should not only be
- 31:52Speaker 1: able to make money if I am working. So you're
- 31:56Speaker 1: talking about like sleep money, sleep money. So if I'm
- 31:59Speaker 1: a hair stylist, okay, I'm doing hair, I need to
- 32:01Speaker 1: be selling products. So if I don't have ten clients
- 32:05Speaker 1: that week, maybe I got ten sales. Oh wow, oh
- 32:10Speaker 1: you hair stylus. You get what I'm saying. So if
- 32:13Speaker 1: I but but now, what do you tell a hairstylus
- 32:16Speaker 1: that is braiding hair independently she doesn't have a big
- 32:20Speaker 1: following or what have you. And you're like, well, you
- 32:22Speaker 1: can maybe try a different lane like products or what
- 32:26Speaker 1: have you what because you know what recently I went
- 32:29Speaker 1: to get a facial, for example, and you know, before
- 32:31Speaker 1: you leave the facial appointment, they're like, oh, you need
- 32:33Speaker 1: to products, and you walk out there a product you'll
- 32:38Speaker 1: probably never use. I worked at Altar. I did that
- 32:40Speaker 1: every day. You know, So sell something you believe in
- 32:44Speaker 1: because it's not hard to sell because you don't have
- 32:47Speaker 1: to be do a commercial and add and talk people
- 32:50Speaker 1: into sell something you truly use and you truly believe
- 32:53Speaker 1: in because you know it's like I believe in this.
- 32:56Speaker 1: That's how wasn't my bimal beauty. I was like, I
- 32:57Speaker 1: am not selling this until I love the formula up
- 33:00Speaker 1: because if I don't believe in it, I'm gonna have
- 33:02Speaker 1: to sell it. But if I believe in I'm like, girl,
- 33:04Speaker 1: this is thick, this is creamy. It lasts all day.
- 33:06Speaker 1: You don't leave that white line like I love my
- 33:08Speaker 1: lip gloss. It's I'm just talking to you. I don't
- 33:10Speaker 1: have to sell it to you. So sell something you
- 33:12Speaker 1: believe in and you're just telling the truth about the product.
- 33:15Speaker 1: It's not a whole commercial. Yeah wow, Where did you
- 33:19Speaker 1: get all your sales skills from? I don't know. I
- 33:23Speaker 1: actually learned a lot um with different people I've worked with. UM.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I learned a lot of skills from somebody that was
- 33:29Speaker 1: on my team, UM that I no longer worked with.
- 33:32Speaker 1: But the entrepreneurial skills were always in me. I literally
- 33:35Speaker 1: was selling snacks in elementary school. So it's like I
- 33:39Speaker 1: would make I don't know if you did y'all do
- 33:41Speaker 1: this in New York, like the Starburst rappers and stuff
- 33:46Speaker 1: and bracelets, I would sell them like I would make
- 33:49Speaker 1: them and sell them. People like, well, I can make
- 33:50Speaker 1: that myself. I was like I would be like, okay,
- 33:51Speaker 1: go make it. Then they'd be like, nah, I'll just
- 33:54Speaker 1: buy it. Yeah, this is gonna take you hours, and
- 33:55Speaker 1: I'm sitting here making it like I would just make stuff.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I think some people assume that entrepreneurship in sales, like
- 34:02Speaker 1: you don't have to know how to sell if you're
- 34:04Speaker 1: an entrepreneur. I always don't, really, I feel like it's essential.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I feel I don't feel like you have to know
- 34:09Speaker 1: how to seal. I feel like you have to sell
- 34:11Speaker 1: something you believe in because I'm not trying to talk
- 34:13Speaker 1: you into it. I'm just telling you about something that
- 34:17Speaker 1: I believe in, a product that I believe in, you know.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I mean, I guess you do have to know how
- 34:21Speaker 1: to sale. But I don't feel like I've ever been
- 34:23Speaker 1: a salesperson, No, I get it. I feel like I
- 34:26Speaker 1: always tell people sales is great customer service. You know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: it makes sense. You know, I don't sell a product
- 34:33Speaker 1: I definitely don't wouldn't sell it. You can't sell a
- 34:35Speaker 1: product you don't believe in. That would definitely not be
- 34:37Speaker 1: good customer service. But I always definitely play on what
- 34:42Speaker 1: the really it's marketing. Yeah, marketing, that really is it?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Like marketing makes your sales, marketing marketing, marketing, marketing makes
- 34:51Speaker 1: your sales. So did I fually get the answer out
- 34:54Speaker 1: of like what what you what you felt like when
- 34:59Speaker 1: you re leave these jobs? Oh? Yeah, like I said, um,
- 35:03Speaker 1: here are us? I basically just told them. I was like,
- 35:07Speaker 1: it's just not making sense to me, like I'm slaving
- 35:10Speaker 1: and working and doing hair and I got I couldn't
- 35:13Speaker 1: say no to a client, Like if a client, I'm like,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I'm booked today, I'll come at six am bit pull
- 35:18Speaker 1: up like I would not never could. I didn't want
- 35:20Speaker 1: to miss the sale. I didn't want to miss the
- 35:22Speaker 1: money and I needed it. So I would work very,
- 35:25Speaker 1: very hard and I made good money, but you know,
- 35:28Speaker 1: it just wasn't enough. And so how is that? How
- 35:30Speaker 1: much with social media giving you? If you don't mind
- 35:32Speaker 1: me asking, Well, that's the and when that's what I'm saying,
- 35:35Speaker 1: Like at that time, I would make like a hundred
- 35:37Speaker 1: dollars for a picture post, but if it's so in,
- 35:39Speaker 1: it's two hundred dollars and that takes two and a
- 35:42Speaker 1: half hours, and it takes me two minutes to post
- 35:46Speaker 1: the picture that that's not adding up to me? You
- 35:49Speaker 1: know what I mean? So you're you're also looking at
- 35:52Speaker 1: time equals money. You're not just looking at money as
- 35:54Speaker 1: a tool. You're looking at time is money and money
- 35:57Speaker 1: is time. Yes, because if I post two pictures that
- 35:58Speaker 1: week and I only have one I in that week,
- 36:01Speaker 1: that's still equivalent to the you know what I mean?
- 36:03Speaker 1: So did you spend most of your free time trying
- 36:05Speaker 1: to figure out ways to increase that line of revenue?
- 36:08Speaker 1: Making skits of skits with me and Bessie ranting videos.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I was always posting, always looking for endorsements, brand deals. Um,
- 36:17Speaker 1: you were looking for them? Yeah, and how would you
- 36:19Speaker 1: approach me? You would say them and you would say,
- 36:22Speaker 1: this is my following, or Hey do y'all need brand ambassadors?
- 36:25Speaker 1: Hey do y'all need a new face that promote your line.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I believe in your product. I think your product is dope.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Sometimes I would even buy the product and do it
- 36:31Speaker 1: and send them the picture. Wow, Like this is the
- 36:34Speaker 1: type of content I can provide you if you need
- 36:36Speaker 1: a brand ambassador. So you know, I'm I seen the
- 36:41Speaker 1: kids nowadays, like the kids, I'm thirty two, but I
- 36:44Speaker 1: really feel like the generation like after ninety three nine,
- 36:48Speaker 1: like the little ones under me, y'all some lazy motherfucker's
- 36:51Speaker 1: why you said that? God damn y'all think this ship
- 36:55Speaker 1: is so easy. You ain't got no followers. I ain't
- 36:57Speaker 1: gonna I've been on Instagram for a decade, baby, you know.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I'm so glad you said that because I think people
- 37:04Speaker 1: grinding influencers day suit it was overnight. If you have
- 37:07Speaker 1: not d M a hundred people today and and show
- 37:10Speaker 1: them who you are, I don't want to hear ship.
- 37:12Speaker 1: The can DM Beyonce right now. I'm not saying she's
- 37:15Speaker 1: gonna see it. I'm not saying she's gonna answer, but
- 37:17Speaker 1: I can d M her do it? Like man, nobody
- 37:21Speaker 1: nobody giving me a chance. You're not even giving yourself
- 37:23Speaker 1: a chance. If you have not d M a hundred
- 37:25Speaker 1: people today and show them your talent, You're this, You're
- 37:28Speaker 1: that in a professional way. Because some of y'all be like, hey,
- 37:31Speaker 1: check out my all right you already or I see
- 37:34Speaker 1: them do that on the comments, so be like out.
- 37:37Speaker 1: It's like, like, what's doing that? You're spam at this point.
- 37:41Speaker 1: But I'm saying, like, don't grind for that ship like
- 37:44Speaker 1: y'all just wanted to be handed to you. How long
- 37:46Speaker 1: were you on Instagram before you made a dollar? A
- 37:49Speaker 1: couple of years, so at least four years. So you
- 37:52Speaker 1: hear that for four years? Four years just to make
- 37:55Speaker 1: a dollar at least, and now you're I would say,
- 37:58Speaker 1: at what point did you become a millionaire? Like my
- 38:02Speaker 1: birthday A five? Okay? Um wow? On your birthday? On
- 38:08Speaker 1: my birthday, it was actually seven days before my birthday,
- 38:10Speaker 1: but we celebrated on my birthday. So how long? How
- 38:14Speaker 1: many years? And were you at that point? Man? For
- 38:19Speaker 1: sixteen seventeen, nineteen twenty, so about eight well, I mean
- 38:25Speaker 1: on social media. But y'all gotta think like I was
- 38:27Speaker 1: in my first girl group when I was fifteen. Yeah,
- 38:29Speaker 1: I was traveling with them, I was performing with them.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Like so this has been years and years and people
- 38:37Speaker 1: always assume that it's just like prettiness, it's oh you
- 38:41Speaker 1: have And then you got to think, at some point
- 38:43Speaker 1: you had to perfect your comedy, right, So what was
- 38:45Speaker 1: that like? Yeah, because I mean Instagram is totally different
- 38:49Speaker 1: than you know, performing live and I never had a
- 38:53Speaker 1: desire to do that. But once again, it was back
- 38:55Speaker 1: when I was struggling, and they were like, all right,
- 38:58Speaker 1: so we'll give you. You've seen hundred for this comedy. Well,
- 39:01Speaker 1: first day called said, do you do stand up? I
- 39:03Speaker 1: said absolutely not. Fun, No, that's scary at fun. I'm
- 39:06Speaker 1: not a comedian like you got me sucked up? No, like, no,
- 39:09Speaker 1: absolutely not. They're like, I was like, well, what was
- 39:12Speaker 1: it for? I was like, this college wanted you to
- 39:14Speaker 1: come do you know ten minutes for dollars? I was like,
- 39:17Speaker 1: I do stand up? What day? Fuck it, I'm gonna
- 39:24Speaker 1: go out there. And and Dion Cole is one of
- 39:27Speaker 1: my favorite comedians, like he's so dope to me. He
- 39:29Speaker 1: write writes down his stuff and he takes it on
- 39:32Speaker 1: stage with him and he would like if it hits,
- 39:34Speaker 1: to like that word. If it doesn't hit, he like,
- 39:35Speaker 1: you know, I did the same thing. I like, copy
- 39:37Speaker 1: Dion Coole. I said that to the college. I was like,
- 39:40Speaker 1: y'all know who Dion Coole is. A all these young kids,
- 39:42Speaker 1: they're like, no, I was like, when you write down
- 39:44Speaker 1: his jokes, So I'm gonna write down these jokes and
- 39:46Speaker 1: the ones I say laugh if you like him. If
- 39:48Speaker 1: you don't like them, don't laugh. And yeah, so I
- 39:52Speaker 1: did it. I wasn't up there for ten minutes. I
- 39:54Speaker 1: got that fifteen hundred dollar check and baby never looked bad.
- 39:57Speaker 1: And then from there you don't obviously still do that checklist,
- 40:01Speaker 1: you know, no, no, no no, But that's amazing. Yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 1: that was cool, definitely, you know lied. I was like,
- 40:07Speaker 1: tell him I could stand up, I will come, I
- 40:08Speaker 1: will turn these kids up. Whatever. But at that time,
- 40:12Speaker 1: in one sitting, that's a lot of money when you're broke. Now,
- 40:16Speaker 1: how did you go from that to wilding out? Yeah?
- 40:20Speaker 1: I actually went to a While and out casting call
- 40:24Speaker 1: for the models. I was trying to be a model girl. Ok,
- 40:29Speaker 1: well you you could easily feel you are studying and
- 40:33Speaker 1: you are beautiful. You're beautiful online too, but it's always
- 40:36Speaker 1: great when you see the first year, like, oh you're
- 40:38Speaker 1: naturally just beautiful. You so much. Um. I went to
- 40:42Speaker 1: the While and outcast and call and I got to
- 40:44Speaker 1: the front. They called my number. I was like, I'm
- 40:45Speaker 1: a comedian, I'm not a model. So what they were like,
- 40:50Speaker 1: let's say something funny and I don't remember what I said,
- 40:52Speaker 1: but they laugh and they were not at this point,
- 40:55Speaker 1: did you have a following? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I had
- 40:57Speaker 1: a following. I had a following, so I was going viral. Um,
- 41:00Speaker 1: Like two thousand and sixteen was my biggest viral moment.
- 41:02Speaker 1: That was when viral was like viral. Like now everything
- 41:07Speaker 1: is viral. Technically it hits a million views, is viral
- 41:10Speaker 1: every like videos are just viral all the time. But viral,
- 41:13Speaker 1: like back in two thousand and sixteen was like Rihanna
- 41:16Speaker 1: reposted my ship Chris Brown. Kind like back then it
- 41:19Speaker 1: was like Rihanna know I DM her? She never answered
- 41:24Speaker 1: that like reading, but um, yeah, So I went viral
- 41:30Speaker 1: and then it was just from there, like they knew
- 41:33Speaker 1: who I was a little bit, but they were like,
- 41:35Speaker 1: I mean, she's the Instagram comedian, Like we're not about
- 41:38Speaker 1: to put her on the show. That was kind of
- 41:39Speaker 1: before they started doing that. Yeah, so you do that,
- 41:43Speaker 1: you tell the joke, they think it's funny. Then what happened.
- 41:45Speaker 1: They told me to sit to the side, and I waited,
- 41:47Speaker 1: like the whole rest of the casting hall were you
- 41:50Speaker 1: calling your friends like, oh my god, what does this mean? No?
- 41:52Speaker 1: I just sat there. I was like, Okay, I don't
- 41:54Speaker 1: I guess we're gonna talk whatever. And then um, we
- 41:56Speaker 1: end up going out to eat and I didn't hear
- 41:58Speaker 1: nothing from them for two years, literally like almost two years.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I was like, they really not working with me, and then, um,
- 42:06Speaker 1: I don't remember how it happened how it went from that,
- 42:08Speaker 1: but uh, I think actually Dolly probably Dolly comes over,
- 42:13Speaker 1: you know why, because Nick didn't believe in me at first.
- 42:16Speaker 1: He was like, I don't see it, like all this year,
- 42:18Speaker 1: my boy man, baby, Yeah, like I don't get it.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I don't see it. Dolly was like I'm telling you her,
- 42:24Speaker 1: Nile and a couple of other people were like fighting
- 42:26Speaker 1: for me, and it was like all right, like I
- 42:28Speaker 1: guess we'll see. And then you know, one year we
- 42:31Speaker 1: shot in Atlanta and as soon as I came out,
- 42:34Speaker 1: the whole crowd was like face like saying all the
- 42:39Speaker 1: beast tone and Nick was like, you know, and then
- 42:44Speaker 1: after like he started being like, all right, you got it,
- 42:46Speaker 1: Like you're a star, You're from your heart to your talent.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Like I didn't see it at first. That was my bad.
- 42:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna take that on the chin, But you really
- 42:54Speaker 1: are a star. Did you know that when you were
- 42:56Speaker 1: doing that at the time, And I'm glad while yeah, yeah,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I was gonna say that. I didn't wanna. I think
- 43:03Speaker 1: I would have been in my head like let me
- 43:04Speaker 1: prove myself, or the opposite, like you don't even really
- 43:08Speaker 1: want me here? Why am I here? But I didn't.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I didn't. I was just like they love me, Nick
- 43:12Speaker 1: loves me. Now do you feel pressured nowadays? Like because
- 43:16Speaker 1: you have you're an entrepreneur, you're a comedian, you're you're
- 43:20Speaker 1: in the podcast space, you're you're a multitasking entreprenour visionary.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Do you feel pressured to stay on top? It depends
- 43:29Speaker 1: on what your definition of on topic is really, Like
- 43:31Speaker 1: you have a there's one thing to go viral, there's
- 43:33Speaker 1: another thing to have a following. Like I feel like
- 43:35Speaker 1: if you put a product out for all your brands
- 43:38Speaker 1: out there be some all drops of product. It's going
- 43:41Speaker 1: to sell, it's going to more people are going to
- 43:43Speaker 1: go to where you're at. So um, not always, not always.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Sometimes it's you know, you gotta you can't be lazy
- 43:49Speaker 1: with it. Just because I post something, don't mean we're
- 43:50Speaker 1: selling we you know, we don't have so many sales
- 43:52Speaker 1: or be someone weady. We're trying to get that up
- 43:53Speaker 1: out of that warehouse. Were like sixties nine percent off
- 43:57Speaker 1: please somebody. You gotta be honest. Month you have a
- 44:03Speaker 1: dollar month, and the next month you can have a
- 44:05Speaker 1: five thousand dollar months. It depends on the marketing, It
- 44:07Speaker 1: depends on people's pockets. It depends on if I'm canceled,
- 44:10Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, like people, I'm not supporting
- 44:13Speaker 1: her now or whatever. But I think it depends on
- 44:16Speaker 1: what your definition of success is, because really I'm trying
- 44:18Speaker 1: to figure out ways to never have to be on
- 44:20Speaker 1: Instagram again. I want to get off. You're all about
- 44:22Speaker 1: sleep money. I want to get off of social media.
- 44:27Speaker 1: It takes up too much of my time. It's it's
- 44:30Speaker 1: time consuming, it's I just want to get picked up.
- 44:43Speaker 1: When you're like social media people for you, it's also
- 44:47Speaker 1: money consumers. So when the regular persons on it, they scroll,
- 44:49Speaker 1: they're like, oh these and they're scrolling and they're clicking
- 44:52Speaker 1: them pretty people and fancy life because that's what we
- 44:55Speaker 1: all do. I do that too. I was gonna ask
- 44:58Speaker 1: do you do that too? Or you're looking at it
- 45:00Speaker 1: like what's my metrics today? It's both. It's oh, I
- 45:04Speaker 1: have to be on Instagram because I'm a business woman.
- 45:06Speaker 1: And then you get on Instagram and don't do ship
- 45:08Speaker 1: they got to do with business. You sit there and
- 45:10Speaker 1: be like, I'm gonna be on for twenty minutes and
- 45:11Speaker 1: then you're on there for two hours. It's it's literally
- 45:15Speaker 1: a millennial addiction. Yes, well, they said that the social
- 45:18Speaker 1: media was created to waste time, and it's funny because
- 45:23Speaker 1: that's exactly what it's doing. So I'm trying to figure
- 45:28Speaker 1: out ways to not have to rely on social media
- 45:30Speaker 1: for my income, which you know, for you don't yeah,
- 45:33Speaker 1: you know, thank god, But the internet is definitely an
- 45:36Speaker 1: outlet for me to make I'll make a lot of
- 45:39Speaker 1: money on internet. Good to know. He's just like, I'm
- 45:44Speaker 1: just trying to get off of it. I'm like, I'm
- 45:46Speaker 1: about to put this money into real estate and be
- 45:48Speaker 1: on an island somewhere and post randomly like I don't
- 45:52Speaker 1: want where people find you if they want to find
- 45:55Speaker 1: you or support you, Like, how can they do that?
- 45:58Speaker 1: Instagram say back to the amazing Literally social media like
- 46:05Speaker 1: my social media and my Instagram is one of my
- 46:07Speaker 1: biggest platforms. Um I promote my um My tour dates
- 46:11Speaker 1: on their past podcast for sure you can't see it
- 46:16Speaker 1: pity on but no, for sure podcasts on my God,
- 46:18Speaker 1: we're episode ten in ten episodes, like we've launched. We
- 46:23Speaker 1: launched two months ago and we have been in the
- 46:24Speaker 1: top two hundred since we launched in the world like
- 46:27Speaker 1: we haven't. It's just mind blowing. We knew we we
- 46:30Speaker 1: know we're gonna be number one, but we didn't know
- 46:32Speaker 1: it's gonna be this you describe your podcast. Our podcast
- 46:35Speaker 1: is literally about truth and purpose, self evolution, elevation, healing, growing,
- 46:43Speaker 1: and we're doing that me and my co host Megan.
- 46:45Speaker 1: We're doing it together with our audience. So we're not
- 46:48Speaker 1: saying we have all the answers. We're not saying we're right,
- 46:50Speaker 1: we're not saying we're wrong. We're just having the conversations.
- 46:53Speaker 1: We're talking about therapy, we're talking about what we go through.
- 46:56Speaker 1: We cry every damn episode. Um, I love that. Yeah,
- 47:00Speaker 1: it's just real ship. Yeah. Do you feel like a
- 47:03Speaker 1: lot of your success has been keeping it real? That's
- 47:05Speaker 1: how I got to this point solely being myself, not
- 47:08Speaker 1: hiding anything. And of course the Internet doesn't have to
- 47:10Speaker 1: know everything about me, but there's not really much I've
- 47:14Speaker 1: hid from the Internet, honestly, Like I walk in my truth.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Anything I say, um, it's my reality. So yeah, there's
- 47:22Speaker 1: never been like a Crunsworthy. While I shouldn't maybe I
- 47:24Speaker 1: shouldn't post it. I went through that after I was
- 47:28Speaker 1: canceled for saying certain things or given my opinion. But
- 47:31Speaker 1: the world was just in a really weird time, like
- 47:34Speaker 1: it was the Black Lives Matter, then it was um COVID.
- 47:38Speaker 1: The world was very dark during that time, and it
- 47:41Speaker 1: was a lot of pain and a lot of suffering,
- 47:43Speaker 1: and you had to tread very lightly. That's when it
- 47:46Speaker 1: took a shift from like, Okay, I can say whatever
- 47:48Speaker 1: I want to say, I'm Dave Chappelle, I'm Richard prior
- 47:51Speaker 1: to okay, now I can't so that I feel like
- 47:55Speaker 1: two thousand. That was that shift of like inscitivity. Everybody
- 48:01Speaker 1: is so fucking sensitive. I'm like I can be like,
- 48:04Speaker 1: oh I love water. Wow, you don't like juice? Wow?
- 48:09Speaker 1: So you hate juice? You love water? Oh my god?
- 48:13Speaker 1: Be somemone hate juice. Welches I saw well chese juice
- 48:16Speaker 1: comment on her last post. Make sure that welches nose
- 48:19Speaker 1: be someone hates juice and they should never support her again.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I didn't say I hated juice. I said I like water.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Be scarier. I feel like we're in an age where
- 48:29Speaker 1: it's in the lose age. And that's why I canceled.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Culture exists like nobody wants to be the I hate
- 48:34Speaker 1: to say the word loser, but nobody wants to be
- 48:35Speaker 1: last place loser. Everybody wants to be equal, and I'm
- 48:38Speaker 1: not saying there we all are equal. Luckily, I'm not
- 48:43Speaker 1: big enough to be canceled yet, but I feel like
- 48:47Speaker 1: we create an environment where we're so sensitive that we're
- 48:52Speaker 1: no longer keeping real. Like I don't want to get
- 48:55Speaker 1: into the gender thing, but even with genders and all
- 48:58Speaker 1: this stuff, it's just like no idy worlds. Just call
- 49:01Speaker 1: blue blue. Yeah, we're all afraid to call it. People
- 49:05Speaker 1: just going off based off emotion. Because the same people
- 49:09Speaker 1: that canceled me will walk up to me and be like,
- 49:10Speaker 1: can you sign my book? I'd like I thought I
- 49:12Speaker 1: was a platress, Like you know what I'm saying, Like
- 49:15Speaker 1: I love your book, Okay, cool, Like I was. You know,
- 49:19Speaker 1: It's it's never like y'all are going off of emotion.
- 49:22Speaker 1: You're mad in the moment, and then in two months later,
- 49:24Speaker 1: you're gonna be buying my lip loss like you because
- 49:28Speaker 1: it's just people are episodic? Are you? I've never even
- 49:31Speaker 1: heard that word, But are you afraid of cancel culture?
- 49:35Speaker 1: Not anymore. I've been canceled so many times. It's a joke.
- 49:39Speaker 1: And literally my last post on Instagram, my last solo
- 49:41Speaker 1: picture or the last one. I have a shirt that
- 49:43Speaker 1: says canceled and the caption is Jesus is My Savior.
- 49:47Speaker 1: He calls the shots. Did you make that shirt? I
- 49:52Speaker 1: got it from my homeboy, his clothing line, But that
- 49:54Speaker 1: is the caption. Like somebody was like, how are you
- 49:56Speaker 1: talking about Jesus? And the picture is saying fuck you.
- 49:59Speaker 1: It's literally a ger that says fuck you and it
- 50:00Speaker 1: says canceled, and it goes hand in hand. You cannot
- 50:03Speaker 1: cancel me. This was predestined before I was in my
- 50:06Speaker 1: mother's womb. There is nothing that a man on this
- 50:08Speaker 1: earth can do that it's going to keep me away
- 50:10Speaker 1: from my purpose. So Jesus is my savior. He calls
- 50:15Speaker 1: the shots. And it's as simple as that. I'm not
- 50:17Speaker 1: scared of humans anymore. When I went through that ship,
- 50:19Speaker 1: it sucked me up though. The first cancel what I
- 50:22Speaker 1: was in my room crying, like why am I crying
- 50:24Speaker 1: over in Twitter, I was sad, man, what advice would
- 50:30Speaker 1: you give to somebody that's trying to be in your shoes,
- 50:33Speaker 1: because it sounds like you have to have you do
- 50:36Speaker 1: you do, and you have to know who you are
- 50:37Speaker 1: and you have to have a good team. And the
- 50:39Speaker 1: thing that sticks with me the most is my best
- 50:41Speaker 1: friend Megan, my business partner that's on my podcast. She
- 50:43Speaker 1: just kept telling me, what is the truth? What is
- 50:46Speaker 1: the truth? What is the truth? Do these people know
- 50:49Speaker 1: you know? Are your plagress? No? Uh? Should? We just
- 50:54Speaker 1: started listing all of these truths. We just made a
- 50:56Speaker 1: list of truths and she was like, at the end
- 50:58Speaker 1: of the day, she shown me the this is the truth,
- 51:01Speaker 1: no matter who believes it. You focus on this. It
- 51:04Speaker 1: don't matter who believes it. The truth is the truth.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And you don't have to believe that. This is white.
- 51:08Speaker 1: At the end of the day, that's the truth. If
- 51:11Speaker 1: you don't believe it, that's on you. That's white. So
- 51:15Speaker 1: remember that the truth is the truth. And if the
- 51:17Speaker 1: truth these are a fucked up person, fix it, change
- 51:20Speaker 1: become up better person. But if the truth is these
- 51:23Speaker 1: people don't know you, You're a great person. You have
- 51:25Speaker 1: pure intentions, whatever focus on the truth. That's great advice. Thanks,
- 51:30Speaker 1: that's really great, Megan. She helped me through that. You're
- 51:33Speaker 1: really good. You have a really good group of girlfriends
- 51:36Speaker 1: and they all live here. Most of them. Yeah, if
- 51:39Speaker 1: you have them lived out the town. But yeah, well
- 51:41Speaker 1: I am going to so this this was really didn't
- 51:44Speaker 1: like this. This was really good. But beasts smone is
- 51:51Speaker 1: very captivated. So when you're doing an interview, so listeners,
- 51:56Speaker 1: I'm not lying because really, if you see the video,
- 52:01Speaker 1: you're gonna see me damning face full of food follow
- 52:04Speaker 1: my husband down there to eat someone. So, Um, I
- 52:08Speaker 1: just wanted to say thank you so much for coming
- 52:11Speaker 1: and being a breath of fresh air. Like honestly I was.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I was literally like and this. You know, I haven't
- 52:24Speaker 1: been to Atlanta often, but this trip, like there were
- 52:28Speaker 1: so many things that were coming at me that I
- 52:30Speaker 1: was like, maybe God doesn't want this trip. It's the
- 52:32Speaker 1: devil messing with me. Um, I'm so glad I came
- 52:36Speaker 1: out here. So you look how the enemy work. That
- 52:37Speaker 1: was the enemy trying to trick your mouth. Tricky trip.
- 52:41Speaker 1: You've been thinking like maybe God, no, the devil. You
- 52:44Speaker 1: got to know God's voice. Let me tell you how
- 52:46Speaker 1: much I believe that God didn't want this trip. I
- 52:48Speaker 1: called up one of my friends who was like God faring,
- 52:50Speaker 1: and I said, how do you know when God talks
- 52:52Speaker 1: to you? I'm like, you know how people say God
- 52:54Speaker 1: talks to them and says something to them. How do
- 52:56Speaker 1: you know? My friend was like, what do you? What
- 52:59Speaker 1: are you how to find out? You know? Though, Yeah,
- 53:01Speaker 1: here's boys and God is never gonna tell you something
- 53:03Speaker 1: that's gonna I mean the depth when it's the devil,
- 53:07Speaker 1: it's always negative, it's always second guessing, it's always fear.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Oh okay, That's how I look at it, that God
- 53:16Speaker 1: is never gonna put fear in you and make you
- 53:18Speaker 1: second guess. Wow. Well, I've been in Atlanta for one
- 53:23Speaker 1: day and meeting you, meeting some of the other people
- 53:27Speaker 1: that I've met here, I can honestly say it was
- 53:30Speaker 1: like the best gift I could have ever gifted myself.
- 53:34Speaker 1: I'm so glad like what you contribute, um, But anyways,
- 53:41Speaker 1: for coming by and eating while broke with me, appreciate
- 53:46Speaker 1: And I'm going to this great concept. It's so funny.
- 53:51Speaker 1: And I was just telling people all camera people have
- 53:53Speaker 1: said to me, oh, this show, it's it's not TV
- 53:55Speaker 1: where they I'm like, why is it They're like, no, no, no,
- 53:59Speaker 1: this is by like YouTube level, but not not TV worthy.
- 54:03Speaker 1: I'm like, it's it's the truth. People need to know
- 54:06Speaker 1: that where you know, and it wasn't overnight special the
- 54:11Speaker 1: new generation. Oh, you just gotta get on it. Just viral,
- 54:15Speaker 1: Just go viral. Have you already tried even getting ten?
- 54:18Speaker 1: Fol Let me just tell yourself that, okay, and that's
- 54:22Speaker 1: the problem. Stop trying to go viral. Just put out
- 54:25Speaker 1: content that you believe in. Just put out the content
- 54:29Speaker 1: that you believe that you believe in. If I believe
- 54:32Speaker 1: in something, I'm gonna put it out and the right
- 54:33Speaker 1: people will find me. I'm not putting it out with
- 54:35Speaker 1: the intent to go viral. You can't plan on going viral.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Just put it out. So in the meantime, do you
- 54:41Speaker 1: advise a couple of day jobs, because I got like
- 54:44Speaker 1: two day jobs. I advise whatever you gotta do to
- 54:48Speaker 1: get it, and whatever is filling your cup, you know,
