Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: The next segment we're going to do is called second
- 0:03Speaker 1: Date Update because that's what we're going to try and
- 0:05Speaker 1: get and that's what the bit is called. Second Date Update.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Starts right now on John Jay and Ring one.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Four seven Tiss FM, John Jay and Rich. Time for
- 0:13Speaker 3: Second Dight Update. Martin, Yo yo yo, Right, quick setup.
- 0:18Speaker 3: So Second Date Update is about dating somebody, trying to
- 0:22Speaker 3: get a second date. You don't get the second date,
- 0:24Speaker 3: you don't know why you're getting blown off.
- 0:26Speaker 2: You want to hear your story, So what is your story? Martin.
- 0:29Speaker 1: My cousin set me up with this girl. He told me,
- 0:32Speaker 1: like swore up and down that she was perfect for me.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Ten out of ten. We hit it right, it up
- 0:37Speaker 1: right away, texting, good vibes, good conversation, and I'm thinking
- 0:42Speaker 1: this is solid. This is done. So we finally meet
- 0:46Speaker 1: up for dinner, take her to the applebee'st which please,
- 0:50Speaker 1: I know you're gonna laugh. It's it's not a mitchelling star.
- 0:53Speaker 1: But I'm a little fight in a financial situation right now.
- 0:57Speaker 1: So at what sixty two dollars in it dream? You know,
- 1:01Speaker 1: but I felt that the date felt good, you know,
- 1:05Speaker 1: it felt natural, It felt it was flowing. She was laughing.
- 1:09Speaker 1: We were talking for a good straight two hours. We
- 1:12Speaker 1: even split an appetiser, man, like, doesn't.
- 1:15Speaker 4: That mean anything?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Like would you want to share a meal? What was that?
- 1:19Speaker 5: Which app did you split? That's very important.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We shared the matterrella sticks. You don't share any meal
- 1:26Speaker 1: with someone, and especially with people that usually double dip.
- 1:30Speaker 1: You don't share that with anyone. So I walked her
- 1:36Speaker 1: to the car. She hugs me. She tells me, text
- 1:40Speaker 1: me when you get home. So I'm like, yeah, there
- 1:43Speaker 1: is locked in and can you guys tell me why
- 1:47Speaker 1: when I text her nothing, I follow up nothing. I'm
- 1:51Speaker 1: staring at a wall of blue on my phone, bro, Like,
- 1:55Speaker 1: was it me? Was it the two for twenty five dollars?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Did Applebee's ruined my life? I don't know, because I
- 2:03Speaker 1: thought we were clicking and now I'm fully ghosted out
- 2:06Speaker 1: here to.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Me, you're the one that she just said, text me
- 2:09Speaker 2: when you get home. That's what I think. Yeah, she
- 2:13Speaker 2: wants to make sure you're safe, right, But.
- 2:16Speaker 4: She she did she how do you say?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Like she took the initiative and said, hey, you text
- 2:23Speaker 1: me when you get home. I'm like, all right, you
- 2:25Speaker 1: know that's cool?
- 2:25Speaker 5: All right right.
- 2:26Speaker 6: And I feel like if she had a problem with
- 2:28Speaker 6: the Applebee's, she probably wouldn't have gone in the date
- 2:31Speaker 6: in the first place, you know what I mean? Kid Like, Yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 6: Like she probably would have been like, nah, man, I'm out,
- 2:36Speaker 6: you feel me?
- 2:37Speaker 7: I don't know, So I don't think that's.
- 2:38Speaker 8: It unless she was kind of like Applebee's, it's okay,
- 2:42Speaker 8: Well see how it goes. And she just wasn't feeling
- 2:44Speaker 8: the same way you were, right, Like she learned something
- 2:48Speaker 8: about you on that date that she either got the
- 2:50Speaker 8: ick with or something, because it's almost like she knew
- 2:55Speaker 8: she wasn't going to ever text you again, and that's
- 2:56Speaker 8: why she said you text me.
- 3:01Speaker 5: She didn't say she's going to respond to that time,
- 3:02Speaker 5: right right.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Well, that's that's what stumped me because I thought I
- 3:07Speaker 1: was a proper gentleman and I thought we did things right.
- 3:11Speaker 5: And you have you talked to your cousin for any
- 3:13Speaker 5: intel because he set your cousin set you up? No
- 3:16Speaker 5: word back?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Well, we have, but you know I'm the one texting her.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He's trying to reach out, but he hasn't responded either.
- 3:23Speaker 2: All right, Well, let's get her on the phone. What's
- 3:25Speaker 2: her name?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Alyssa.
- 3:27Speaker 2: All right, we'll get a list on the phone. Hold
- 3:28Speaker 2: on the line. Second date update continues next with John
- 3:31Speaker 2: Jay and Rich.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Squabble, squabble, squabble lot.
- 3:35Speaker 2: What a four to seven? Kiss FM. It's John J. Rich.
- 3:38Speaker 2: We're in the middle of second date update. Martin and Alyssa.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Well, Martin's cousin set him up with what he called
- 3:43Speaker 5: the perfect date. They went to Applebeans that they even
- 3:48Speaker 5: split the mazzarella sticks for an appetizer, but they did
- 3:52Speaker 5: skip the Oreo shake, which I think is the reason
- 3:54Speaker 5: you take your date. Oreos Walker Hayes had it all correct. Well,
- 3:58Speaker 5: she said, text me when you get home. Was it
- 4:01Speaker 5: because she was worried about him? Or was it she
- 4:04Speaker 5: wanted to know that the coast was clear for her
- 4:05Speaker 5: to go back out on that same night and not
- 4:07Speaker 5: bump into him ever again. Let us find out.
- 4:10Speaker 2: All right, Martin, that was a good recap. So you
- 4:13Speaker 2: stay quiet and you figure out, well, yeah, I can
- 4:15Speaker 2: hear you, yeah, but but we don't want to hear you. Now.
- 4:17Speaker 2: You want to stay quiet. We're gonna find out why
- 4:18Speaker 2: she's blowing it off. Right, hold on, I'll stay quiet.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Yes, Hello, Hi, is this Melissa?
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, perfect.
- 4:37Speaker 9: Hi.
- 4:37Speaker 6: My name is Peyton. I'm with John Jay and Rich.
- 4:39Speaker 6: We just wanted to talk to you on the radio
- 4:40Speaker 6: really quickly if you're free this morning.
- 4:42Speaker 10: Okay.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Hey.
- 4:44Speaker 3: So we were on the air doing our radio show.
- 4:46Speaker 3: We get a call from a guy. He says, Hey,
- 4:48Speaker 3: I'm confused. I went on a date with this great girl.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I thought we hit it off, and now I feel
- 4:54Speaker 3: like she's ghosting me. So as he's telling us the
- 4:56Speaker 3: whole story, we're like, you know, maybe we could just
- 4:58Speaker 3: call her and get her version of it. And you're
- 5:00Speaker 3: the girl, by the way, okay, and the guy, Yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 3: the guy's Martin his point of view from we're hearing
- 5:08Speaker 3: it from from him, it seemed like it was a
- 5:10Speaker 3: nice date.
- 5:11Speaker 10: Honestly, the date. The date was fine, It was totally fine.
- 5:15Speaker 10: Like the date itself was good. We were laughing, conversation
- 5:21Speaker 10: was good and like thinking, okay, this is a normal,
- 5:26Speaker 10: decent guy. And then it got really weird, like okay,
- 5:32Speaker 10: so halfway through he let me know that he had
- 5:37Speaker 10: just he had just gotten out a federal person.
- 5:40Speaker 9: Oh okay, what he didn't tell us that part, but
- 5:48Speaker 9: I'm gone right, So.
- 5:51Speaker 10: I'm like I'm sorry, Like what And then I come
- 5:54Speaker 10: to find out that the guy that I've actually been
- 5:57Speaker 10: messaging on hind with for the last few weeks wasn't
- 6:00Speaker 10: even him because this guy was in prison, so it
- 6:05Speaker 10: apparently was his cousin or like, and his cousin was
- 6:09Speaker 10: running his account while he was in prison, so like
- 6:13Speaker 10: I thought that the person that I was talking to
- 6:17Speaker 10: was him, and like we were building this connection and
- 6:22Speaker 10: like it was cute and I was getting to know
- 6:25Speaker 10: him and they were like legitimately there were good warning.
- 6:28Speaker 11: Texts okay, wow, wow, basically like in a relationship with
- 6:36Speaker 11: a free man on behalf of an.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Incarcerated one that I could see where you would take
- 6:43Speaker 5: a step back and go, what just happened there?
- 6:45Speaker 3: Did he tell you that at dinner? Like he told
- 6:47Speaker 3: you that at dinner, Like he wasn't hiding it?
- 6:50Speaker 10: Well yeah, but like I mean yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 3: It's like, you know, it's the modern day version of
- 6:58Speaker 3: a certain degree of that syrrah O de Bert thing.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I guess that's true.
- 7:02Speaker 2: It was, it's old.
- 7:03Speaker 3: It's I don't know if it's a play, it's a movie.
- 7:05Speaker 3: It's a guy, a very ugly guy that is most
- 7:08Speaker 3: extremely romantic and can write letters. And there's a good
- 7:11Speaker 3: looking guy that is in love with another girl, and
- 7:14Speaker 3: so the ugly guy would hide behind a bush and
- 7:17Speaker 3: tell the good looking guy what to say. And the
- 7:18Speaker 3: woman fell in love with the good looking guy, but
- 7:20Speaker 3: really fell in love with the ugly guy, and then
- 7:22Speaker 3: it comes out later and then she goes and marriy'
- 7:23Speaker 3: the ugly guy.
- 7:24Speaker 2: So it's almost like you, you're gonna fall in love with
- 7:26Speaker 2: the cousin and marry the cousin. You're an old diversion.
- 7:30Speaker 10: Acts such a good game, by the way, right props
- 7:36Speaker 10: to him, like you might have a career. I don't know,
- 7:39Speaker 10: but anyways, Yeah, it was just like really caught off guard.
- 7:42Speaker 5: And but you know, you did say the date itself
- 7:45Speaker 5: wasn't bad. It was, it was pretty good.
- 7:48Speaker 10: It's just really hard to bounce back from being hatfished
- 7:51Speaker 10: by a family unit.
- 7:53Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like a reverse cast.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Yo yo yo yo, yo yo yo. Honestly, I don't
- 7:58Speaker 4: know what you're acting out of here. This is the
- 8:00Speaker 4: way out of left field.
- 8:04Speaker 10: I did Martin Martin's on the line.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Martin's on the Line.
- 8:08Speaker 12: Did we ever find out why he was in prison?
- 8:10Speaker 7: Because I feel like that's also.
- 8:11Speaker 2: A white.
- 8:15Speaker 7: Murder.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You guys, go ahead, you guys, go.
- 8:20Speaker 10: Ahead talk Okay, Well, like, let's just be clear. You
- 8:24Speaker 10: had your cousin running your hand profile while you weren't
- 8:29Speaker 10: sitting in federal prison. Like, I don't care what it
- 8:32Speaker 10: was that got you in prison like that alone.
- 8:37Speaker 4: First of all, I did my time. I'm out now,
- 8:41Speaker 4: I'm just trying to set up I was just trying
- 8:44Speaker 4: to set up something for when I got out. That's
- 8:46Speaker 4: called being strategic.
- 8:48Speaker 10: Okay, it's exactly crazy.
- 8:51Speaker 4: You yeah like that, Yeah, I was strategic.
- 8:54Speaker 10: You outsourced your entire personality. Like I thought I was
- 8:58Speaker 10: connecting with you. I thought I was, like, to be
- 9:00Speaker 10: totally honest, like I thought that I was falling for you, Martin.
- 9:04Speaker 4: You were you were talking. No, no, you were talking
- 9:08Speaker 4: to me. It's the same brain, different hands. What's the
- 9:11Speaker 4: big difference here?
- 9:12Speaker 5: It's not the.
- 9:15Speaker 10: Different hands, but crazy, Okay, So the difference is is
- 9:19Speaker 10: that humans don't work like that. And he showed up
- 9:22Speaker 10: to her date like it was like a walking plot twist.
- 9:28Speaker 10: I nearly choked on my drink when you opened your
- 9:31Speaker 10: mouth to tell me that, like that was I was slored.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You stayed.
- 9:37Speaker 4: You even ordered the motsticks, and clearly the date wasn't
- 9:43Speaker 4: that bad you were feeling.
- 9:44Speaker 10: I stayed because I was literally frozen in pureshock, Like honestly,
- 9:50Speaker 10: I was just trying to process the fact that I
- 9:52Speaker 10: had been cassished kind of. I guess, yeah, like by
- 9:57Speaker 10: a sellon and his cousin.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Made your cousin.
- 10:07Speaker 4: My cousin is awesome. And you keep throwing this word
- 10:10Speaker 4: around felling like I'm still locked up. I pay my debt,
- 10:14Speaker 4: I'm good now.
- 10:15Speaker 7: I think you're still a felling.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Anymore.
- 10:25Speaker 12: I just feel like you're like I don't understand why
- 10:27Speaker 12: you're not understanding this.
- 10:30Speaker 10: That's what I'm saying. It's actually insane that like you
- 10:33Speaker 10: do not see how to arrange the holes that up
- 10:35Speaker 10: is like you really felt like, Okay, yeah, let my
- 10:39Speaker 10: cousin flirt with women for me while I'm in prison
- 10:45Speaker 10: and then like I'll just like slide and later like
- 10:49Speaker 10: nothing happened, but also like spit it like on the
- 10:52Speaker 10: first date, like what the.
- 10:56Speaker 1: It worked?
- 10:56Speaker 4: It got you to go out with me?
- 10:58Speaker 12: Sounds like a look, it didn't relation a long term
- 11:01Speaker 12: because she doesn't want to stay going out right, like you're.
- 11:04Speaker 6: Kind of scheming Martin. Now I'm curious, like, did you, like,
- 11:06Speaker 6: were you in prison for fraud? Because that's exactly what
- 11:09Speaker 6: you're doing right here in this relationship.
- 11:11Speaker 10: Quote unquote thank you legitimately.
- 11:15Speaker 4: No, you're now now you're doing too much. Now you're
- 11:18Speaker 4: you're looking, you're looking too too much reasoning behind it.
- 11:23Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 11:24Speaker 10: Yes, you did way too much. Like this entire thing
- 11:31Speaker 10: feels like calm, Like what are you doing. You're calling
- 11:34Speaker 10: the radio station. You're trying to like eavesdrop on my
- 11:37Speaker 10: conversation about like what's the am I? And like this
- 11:40Speaker 10: is crazy?
- 11:41Speaker 4: Nah nah, nah, No, Well that ain't crazy because I hey,
- 11:45Speaker 4: it's a radio station. I was just looking for an answer.
- 11:48Speaker 4: That's crazy. I feel like you're straight up judging me.
- 11:51Speaker 4: This is that's a whole lot crazy.
- 11:53Speaker 10: Outfully, and I will continue to judge you from the
- 11:59Speaker 10: very safest.
- 12:00Speaker 12: Yeah, Martin, people don't really like starting relationships on lies.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Right's stripping.
- 12:05Speaker 4: This is crazy. I was a straight up gentleman. I
- 12:08Speaker 4: paid out my my dues. I did everything right.
- 12:11Speaker 1: This is crazy.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I agree with you, man, you did you do that?
- 12:15Speaker 12: He did everything right?
- 12:16Speaker 2: What did Martin go to prison for I don't know, Martin.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Tell us, I did my time and it's not even important.
- 12:33Speaker 5: No second date, then.
- 12:35Speaker 10: It's going to be a note for me.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Guys.
- 12:38Speaker 3: All right, all right, well, thank you guys for here.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I'm looking at what are what are federal crimes? So
- 12:43Speaker 3: if you went to federal prison, white collar crimes, drug
- 12:47Speaker 3: related violent crimes, car jacking, aircraft?
- 12:50Speaker 2: Did you steal an airplane?
- 12:52Speaker 4: I'm not gonna incriminate myself any further an.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Counterfeiting uh art theft? Are you Thomas Crown? All right,
- 13:06Speaker 3: you guys, thanks for going on no second date, no
- 13:08Speaker 3: second date. Thank you guys for going to row with us.
- 13:09Speaker 3: That is a second date update with John Jay and
- 13:11Speaker 3: Rich John Jay and Rich
