SPEAKER_00: Coming up in this one.
0:34
SPEAKER_00: Be honestly, I'm a little nervous.
0:36
SPEAKER_00: A little bit.
0:36
SPEAKER_00: You know new things.
0:39
SPEAKER_00: New editing.
0:40
SPEAKER_00: New video software to worry about.
0:42
SPEAKER_00: That's okay though.
0:43
SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
0:43
SPEAKER_00: It's important to be vulnerable with you guys, and I appreciate you guys sticking around with it.
0:48
SPEAKER_00: Don't worry though.
0:50
SPEAKER_00: Same bar energy, same group chat, disguised as a podcast.
0:54
SPEAKER_00: All the stuff you love to talk some shit about.
0:58
SPEAKER_00: We got a lot to cover.
0:59
SPEAKER_00: So let's break it down.
1:01
SPEAKER_00: First things first, Giants.
1:03
SPEAKER_00: They give the kid a chance.
1:05
SPEAKER_00: They're giving it to him.
1:07
SPEAKER_00: Gable realizes his job is in trouble, and uh he's gonna start the kid for the rest of the season.
1:11
SPEAKER_00: So we'll see how that breaks down.
1:13
SPEAKER_00: And the Jets, oh boy, don't get me started.
1:16
SPEAKER_00: Same old Jets no more.
1:18
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:18
SPEAKER_00: Aaron Glenn hate to break it too.
1:20
SPEAKER_00: We are the same old Jets.
1:21
SPEAKER_00: We're 0-3.
1:22
SPEAKER_00: Going against another 0-3 team on Monday night.
1:26
SPEAKER_00: They traded for a corner.
1:27
SPEAKER_00: Maybe that helps the secondary a little bit, but I think it's more of a band-aid than an actual fix.
1:32
SPEAKER_00: Kids are player though, Bradley.
1:34
SPEAKER_00: He can play, so we'll see.
1:44
SPEAKER_00: Baseball wise, Mets wildcard.
1:46
SPEAKER_00: It is must win mode every game.
1:49
SPEAKER_00: You are only up a half a game on the Reds right now.
1:51
SPEAKER_00: Can't lose any more games.
1:53
SPEAKER_00: Reds are chasing you a half game behind you.
1:57
SPEAKER_00: Thank God Arizona stinks.
1:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh it's it's not looking pretty, and especially having to go to Miami to finish the season.
2:06
SPEAKER_00: They're doing their best 07 impression for the collapse here, and Miami moved Alcantara up to base to try and play spoiler.
2:15
SPEAKER_00: Yankees, congratulations, you clean.
2:18
SPEAKER_00: Proud of you popped that champagne.
2:20
SPEAKER_00: You guys look dead in July.
2:22
SPEAKER_00: So now the key question is do you wrest them guys or do you go for the full division win?
2:28
SPEAKER_00: Because it's still in play for sure.
2:31
SPEAKER_00: Around the MLB, um Riley goes for 60, which is a historic number on its own.
2:37
SPEAKER_00: Even chasing Judge's 63 record, and he's a catcher, and he's a switch hitter.
2:42
SPEAKER_00: The Guardians surge back and go after the limping Detroit Tigers.
2:47
SPEAKER_00: Drop 15 games.
2:50
SPEAKER_00: 16.
2:57
SPEAKER_00: And the Phillies clinch up the first overall seed, get the bye.
3:04
SPEAKER_00: Couple NBA quickies too.
3:06
SPEAKER_00: Brunson closes the door on sips.
3:09
SPEAKER_00: Josh Hart says he has to play with a splint on a shooting end for the rest of the year.
3:13
SPEAKER_00: We'll see how that goes.
3:14
SPEAKER_00: And then we'll mix in some fantasy picks.
3:17
SPEAKER_00: Some panic meter stuff, some QB pickups, maybe some tight end darts you can throw around the league because God knows tight end is so weak.
3:26
SPEAKER_00: And then last but not least, we'll roll into rolling the dice with Rice, the gambling side.
3:32
SPEAKER_00: We'll own last week's losses and try to give you some winners for this week.
3:37
SPEAKER_00: We got a whole bunch of cover.
3:39
SPEAKER_00: Thanks for sticking with me.
3:40
SPEAKER_00: You guys are gonna enjoy this show.
3:42
SPEAKER_00: Let's get right into it.
3:44
SPEAKER_01: Tranquility base here.
3:45
SPEAKER_01: The Eagle has landed.
3:55
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
3:56
SPEAKER_00: Let's uh let's talk ball.
4:00
SPEAKER_00: And New York is the headline.
4:04
SPEAKER_00: The quarterbacks are the storyline for both teams.
4:08
SPEAKER_00: We're starting it off with the Giants because they finally did what every fan was clamoring for, and every media personality was clamoring for, whether it was the right move or not.
4:23
SPEAKER_00: I talked about it on previous podcasts of should they start him, should they not?
4:29
SPEAKER_00: Should they go right at it?
4:30
SPEAKER_00: Is it better to go the Alex Smith to Patrick Mahomes vibe?
4:35
SPEAKER_00: Well, it doesn't matter because Brian Daywall has made it official after they saw Russell Wilson throw the ball into the end zone and off the goalpost last week in a red zone drive.
4:48
SPEAKER_00: I said that's enough.
4:49
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I think they the Giants they wanted Aaron Rodgers, and he said no shot, right?
5:00
SPEAKER_00: Then they wanted Matthew Staver.
5:02
SPEAKER_00: They were getting ready to give up the world for him, and he leveraged the Giants to get a bigger contract.
5:08
SPEAKER_00: So then what do they do?
5:11
SPEAKER_00: They go, shit, well, what we have nobody.
5:14
SPEAKER_00: We're we're getting rid of Daniel Jones.
5:15
SPEAKER_00: What are we supposed to do?
5:16
SPEAKER_00: So they grabbed Russell Wilson.
5:19
SPEAKER_00: And the fact that Pittsburgh alone was like, yeah, you know what?
5:25
SPEAKER_00: We're good.
5:26
SPEAKER_00: They they tried to talk to Justin Fields, but decided to move on from him, but they told Russell Wilson, yeah, we're good.
5:32
SPEAKER_00: Should tell you enough that when the Giants went after him, they were between a rock and a hard place.
5:39
SPEAKER_00: I think they knew they were gonna go after a quarterback in the draft.
5:43
SPEAKER_00: They really tried uh all the reports were that they tried to draft up for Cam Ward, who I still have some hope in, but we'll see how he turns out.
5:54
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think he's in a tough situation.
5:55
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, they trade back up, they get Jackson Dart.
5:58
SPEAKER_00: That right there tells you this is gonna be the kid.
6:02
SPEAKER_00: They like what they saw, they liked his mentals, they liked his kids got swag.
6:08
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's wearing that fucking monster ghost face chain, and he's a backup.
6:13
SPEAKER_00: You mean that's crazy.
6:16
SPEAKER_00: But Jackson gets the nod, right?
6:20
SPEAKER_00: So now it's on to does the locker room respond?
6:27
SPEAKER_00: Do they look down because now they have a kid, or do they now look at it as, well, we knew this kid was gonna be in here eventually, so he lights a spark.
6:37
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I know Malik Neighbors is gonna be happy.
6:39
SPEAKER_00: Jackson would come in for some packages the last two weeks, but it was all run plays.
6:44
SPEAKER_00: They're not gonna do that for the rest of the season.
6:46
SPEAKER_00: He's not just gonna run the ball for the rest of the season, he's gonna have to throw the ball.
6:50
SPEAKER_00: And Malik Neighbors is gonna be happy with a live arm.
6:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Russell Wilson has a good deep ball, but it's it's the Jackson Dart show now.
6:58
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be the Dart throws a dart show.
7:01
SPEAKER_00: And that line's gonna get old, but it's gonna happen.
7:05
SPEAKER_00: It's it's gonna be his huddle.
7:09
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be his huddle.
7:10
SPEAKER_00: He's gonna have to be a 22-year-old kid leading grown men and trying to get them to believe in him that he can lead them to the quote unquote promised land.
7:23
SPEAKER_00: Look, man, when Eli came in when he was a rookie, and that's the last time the Jets, the Jets, excuse me, the Giants were worth anything, he was terrible to start.
7:33
SPEAKER_00: He lost his next six, seven games, whatever it was.
7:36
SPEAKER_00: I think he only won his final game again as a giant, and then the next year he went in.
7:41
SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's what you want, right?
7:43
SPEAKER_00: You want Dart to show promise with neighbors, with Scatabow, by the way.
7:48
SPEAKER_00: Tracy's hurt, and Scatabow is your Peyton Hillis, Ronnie Allslot boomer of the middle.
7:55
SPEAKER_00: Giants offense might actually be pretty good.
7:57
SPEAKER_00: Andrew Thomas is back now.
7:59
SPEAKER_00: They might be able to, if this kid can put the spark in that I think he's gonna put in, I think uh I think they're gonna be alright.
8:07
SPEAKER_00: Now, are they gonna beat the 3-0 Chargers who Justin Herbert has looked like a pure android on the field and makes unbelievable throws, throwing, running to his left, throwing to his right, want to dart.
8:20
SPEAKER_00: By the way, throwing to uh Johnson who Quentin Johnson who couldn't catch a cold, couldn't couldn't catch uh an egg with an oven mitt.
8:30
SPEAKER_00: You know, he's making him look good.
8:33
SPEAKER_00: It's a tough break for Dart, and it's a tough schedule for Dart.
8:38
SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
8:39
SPEAKER_00: The only way to do something is to do it.
8:41
SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm doing right now.
8:42
SPEAKER_00: I don't know anything about video, and here I am, I'm doing it.
8:44
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna get better, and I'm gonna get better because I'm gonna make mistakes.
8:48
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna throw an interception or two, but I'm gonna figure out how to do it.
8:53
SPEAKER_00: Jackson Dart's gonna throw an interception or three, but you know what?
8:56
SPEAKER_00: If he shows promise, especially with my league neighbors, you guys are gonna be alright.
9:01
SPEAKER_00: And the other thing too is he brings some juice, too.
9:04
SPEAKER_00: He brings he brings his legs.
9:05
SPEAKER_00: The kids, he's 22.
9:07
SPEAKER_00: He can take a hit, he's got some speed, he can come off the edge, he can run.
9:10
SPEAKER_00: You know, Russell Wilson used to be that guy.
9:13
SPEAKER_00: He is not that guy anymore.
9:15
SPEAKER_00: He's not, he wants to scramble, he used to scramble to extend the play, and then Tyler Lockett would get open or something.
9:25
SPEAKER_00: Well, Jackson Dart can extend the play, and now Malik Neighbors is getting open, or he can take off and run.
9:31
SPEAKER_00: So, look, he gets the big stage, he gets a lot of a lot of Giant fans were calling in saying that as soon as they heard Dart was starting, they took their tickets off of StubHub.
9:44
SPEAKER_00: The building is gonna be loud, it's gonna be filled with some energy, some juice.
9:49
SPEAKER_00: I don't think a lot of people are uh coming over from California, the Chargers are playing nowadays, to MetLife.
9:57
SPEAKER_00: So the building's gonna be packed, it's gonna be loud, they're gonna be pumped up for the kid.
10:03
SPEAKER_00: They're gonna be alright.
10:04
SPEAKER_00: This kind of this game has trap game written all over it.
10:09
SPEAKER_00: So we'll uh we'll see how things go here.
10:13
SPEAKER_00: The key matchup for Big Blue this week is gonna be just keeping Dart in structure early.
10:20
SPEAKER_00: You know, get the jitters out.
10:21
SPEAKER_00: It's like a pitcher, it's like a rookie pitcher when he comes in.
10:24
SPEAKER_00: His first pitch is always, you know, 99 miles per hour when he's a 93 mile per hour thrower because the adrenaline's pumping.
10:30
SPEAKER_00: Start him early, get a couple quick slants to neighbors, maybe a couple run options with Scatabow.
10:37
SPEAKER_00: Move the launch points little by little, use his legs in the red zone when you have to.
10:42
SPEAKER_00: And the other important thing is gonna be the defense.
10:45
SPEAKER_00: If you're Dable, you gotta you gotta take your defensive captain set aside and say, listen, I know it's not what you wanted, I know it's not what you think, but we're gonna we're we're moving forward with the kid.
10:56
SPEAKER_00: We gotta see what he's got, right?
10:58
SPEAKER_00: So you guys need to step up and make the plays and help this kid out.
11:05
SPEAKER_00: Don't have the kid down 30 to 6 in the third quarter.
11:11
SPEAKER_00: So then he has to pass and then he has to make mistakes.
11:14
SPEAKER_00: Do us a solid, but keep the game tight, keep it within reach.
11:20
SPEAKER_00: Even if we lose, fine.
11:21
SPEAKER_00: You know, no one wants to lose, but if you're the Giants, if you go, I don't know, God, I hate to say it, three and whatever, four and whatever, but Dart looks good and it looks like you solved the problem, that's what you want.
11:37
SPEAKER_00: As far as my lean for the game, I think I'm gonna take the Giants plus six and a half.
11:43
SPEAKER_00: Uh we'll cover it later in uh rolling the dice with rice segment.
11:50
SPEAKER_00: But I kind of like the Giants to keep it close.
11:54
SPEAKER_00: Now, the other question is what do you do with Russ?
11:59
SPEAKER_00: So he's the backup quarterback now, and he's a true professional, of course, fine.
12:04
SPEAKER_00: But do you if teams come knocking, do you trade them?
12:11
SPEAKER_00: Is really the question.
12:12
SPEAKER_00: Or do you keep that insurance policy?
12:16
SPEAKER_00: I mean, what did you sign Jameis for if you weren't gonna maybe use him?
12:22
SPEAKER_00: I guess the third string insurance policy is fine.
12:26
SPEAKER_00: But you saw what you have in Russ.
12:28
SPEAKER_00: So now is it worth keeping the insurance policy of him if Dart, God forbid, gets hurt?
12:38
SPEAKER_00: Or is it better off to just grab like a sixth round pick or something for him to, I don't know, the Bengals or I don't know, Carolina.
12:49
SPEAKER_00: Are they done with uh Bryce Young?
12:51
SPEAKER_00: I don't think they are, but you know.
12:53
SPEAKER_00: I don't know, I get both sides.
12:54
SPEAKER_00: I get keeping him and I get getting rid of him.
12:58
SPEAKER_00: Also get when you can from while you can.
13:01
SPEAKER_00: But look, if you shop him, he's gonna be cheap to acquire.
13:04
SPEAKER_00: You lost value.
13:06
SPEAKER_00: And his base is only around two million anyway.
13:09
SPEAKER_00: So I'm more leaning towards the side of keeping him for the just in case, because look, look at look at look at how many teams, even last year, uh last year with the Jets, man, or two years ago with the Jets, whatever.
13:24
SPEAKER_00: Aaron Rodgers goes down and they didn't sign a backup quarterback, and they're stuck with Zach Wilson.
13:30
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's always important to have that that clipboard Jesus, that Charlie Batch, ready to roll when they need him.
13:37
SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, I think for Russell Wilson, that that's kind of where his career has gone now.
13:42
SPEAKER_00: I really do.
13:43
SPEAKER_00: I think they I think when they signed Russ, they said, We'll give you a shot, but eventually the kid's gonna come in.
13:52
SPEAKER_00: And because you're a pro, we'll be nice to you, or we'll give you the benefit of the doubt, to prove that you can still do it.
14:03
SPEAKER_00: And he proved he could do it against a shitty Dallas secondary who allowed 450 yards to him, and then literally the next week allowed four touchdowns against Caleb Williams, who has looked terrible all year.
14:19
SPEAKER_00: So I think that speaks more to Dallas' secondary than so much of the Russell Wilson era in New York.
14:27
SPEAKER_00: You gotta protect your rookie.
14:29
SPEAKER_00: So you know.
14:33
SPEAKER_00: Now the Jets.
14:38
SPEAKER_00: More quarterback drama, more bullshit.
14:41
SPEAKER_00: What else is new for the Jets, right?
14:44
SPEAKER_00: Well, Fields is in protocol, right, after last week.
14:47
SPEAKER_00: And Tyrod didn't look bad either.
14:50
SPEAKER_00: I mean, threw for two touchdowns, whatever, but they were late touchdowns.
14:54
SPEAKER_00: Fields is practicing now.
14:56
SPEAKER_00: The thing with the Jets is I tried to convince myself that this wasn't going to be a rebuild year and that they actually might have had a chance to make some noise.
15:05
SPEAKER_00: But realistically, it's a rebuild year and they don't have any chance to make any noise.
15:10
SPEAKER_00: So the whole point of this season now going forward is to just get Fields in as soon as you can, as soon as he's healthy, and see more of what you got from him.
15:22
SPEAKER_00: Evaluate more of what you got from him, see if you have a ceiling.
15:25
SPEAKER_00: Because that's what the Jets need a ceiling quarterback.
15:28
SPEAKER_00: Tyrod's great for 95 years old and a paper cutaway from never playing again.
15:35
SPEAKER_00: But that's not the future of the Jets.
15:38
SPEAKER_00: Justin Fields might be the future of the Jets, but it's probably not the future of the Jets, if we're being honest here.
15:44
SPEAKER_00: But at least he gives you mobility.
15:47
SPEAKER_00: He gives you somewhat of uh youth intelligence.
15:55
SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't know how to put it.
15:57
SPEAKER_00: He he gives you uh hope, which is what the Jets always are.
16:04
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, they should change their name at this point.
16:05
SPEAKER_00: Instead of J E T S it should be H O P E.
16:09
SPEAKER_00: Because every year the Jets try and sell you hope, and every year hope goes out the door.
16:17
SPEAKER_00: Yikes, dude.
16:18
SPEAKER_00: It's whatever.
16:21
SPEAKER_00: It's it's tough being a Jet fan out here.
16:24
SPEAKER_00: Uh the defense has looked Jets-ish.
16:31
SPEAKER_00: You know, you're never gonna get back to those Rex Ryan days.
16:35
SPEAKER_00: But the secondary is not great.
16:38
SPEAKER_00: It's good.
16:39
SPEAKER_00: Sauce is doing his job.
16:41
SPEAKER_00: Quinn and up the middle is doing his job.
16:43
SPEAKER_00: There's some linebacker injuries.
16:45
SPEAKER_00: They did just trade for uh cornerback from the Titans, Bradley Jr.
16:50
SPEAKER_00: And from everything I've heard from all the Titan fans that I know, he is good and aggressive and a ball hawk, but also too aggressive for his own good sometimes.
17:01
SPEAKER_00: He's gonna give you that penalty on third and eight.
17:05
SPEAKER_00: And you're gonna go, what is this guy doing on the field?
17:09
SPEAKER_00: But there might be some potential there, so we'll see.
17:12
SPEAKER_00: Maybe Glenn can preach some discipline into him.
17:14
SPEAKER_00: Maybe he just needed to change the scenery.
17:16
SPEAKER_00: That's how it goes.
17:17
SPEAKER_00: I do think it's just a band-aid instead of a fix, and you guys voted with me on the poll on the Wednesday mic check polls.
17:25
SPEAKER_00: It was like 80% a band aid, not a fix, but that's the Jets.
17:29
SPEAKER_00: It is what it is.
17:30
SPEAKER_00: And I gotta get on the Jets for that Tampa game.
17:36
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
17:38
SPEAKER_00: You preach discipline and preach no bid penalties and this and the other the whole offseason.
17:46
SPEAKER_00: You made us buy in.
17:47
SPEAKER_00: And what'd you do?
17:48
SPEAKER_00: You gave the game away late due to penalties, due to missed tackles, and yeah, you blocked a kick late.
17:57
SPEAKER_00: Congratulations, that's awesome.
17:59
SPEAKER_00: And when I saw it, listen, I was happy.
18:01
SPEAKER_00: I literally I went from oh yeah, and then I looked at a clock and I went, oh no.
18:06
SPEAKER_00: Because I know how this goes.
18:08
SPEAKER_00: The Jets can never make a stop when they need to.
18:12
SPEAKER_00: So what happens?
18:13
SPEAKER_00: Big Dick Baker comes right down the field.
18:16
SPEAKER_00: No problem, like he's done in this past three, two weeks before.
18:20
SPEAKER_00: Swings it right down, gets in field role range, and I gotta correct myself too, because last week I said Ricky Pearsall.
18:27
SPEAKER_00: I meant Ibuka.
18:28
SPEAKER_00: And boy oh boy, did Abuka have some serious catches against us.
18:34
SPEAKER_00: Look, bottom line, you gotta clean all this shit up.
18:37
SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, you're gonna be 0-4.
18:39
SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be 0-4 going into Monday night, and you're gonna be sitting at the podium saying, same old Jets, same old Jets.
18:48
SPEAKER_00: Moving on to Miami for the Jets.
18:53
SPEAKER_00: Congratulations, ESPN.
18:55
SPEAKER_00: You played yourself.
18:56
SPEAKER_00: Two 0-3 teams, and one of them's fighting for their life in a rebuild, and the other one's fighting for their life with a coach that nobody wants to play for.
19:06
SPEAKER_00: But Miami is fast, and if Tua stays upright, it might be a problem.
19:13
SPEAKER_00: The key to that Monday night game is just gonna be able to, it's just gonna be tackle in space.
19:19
SPEAKER_00: Just make the tackles you're supposed to make.
19:21
SPEAKER_00: They're gonna swing HN on the side, they're gonna get Tyreek over the middle, close, close the middle of the field.
19:28
SPEAKER_00: And if Fields plays, lean on the QB run a little bit.
19:32
SPEAKER_00: I know he just got a concussion protocol, but if he got cleared, he got cleared.
19:36
SPEAKER_00: You're on the field, go play.
19:37
SPEAKER_00: Control the tempo, keep them off the field.
19:41
SPEAKER_00: 2-0-3 teams on a Monday night.
19:44
SPEAKER_00: At least it's a doubleheader.
19:45
SPEAKER_00: And it's too, there's no manning cast because of it.
19:47
SPEAKER_00: If I'm leaning one way or the other, I'll probably take the points with the Jets.
19:52
SPEAKER_00: If Fields is greenlit, maybe sprinkle the money line.
19:57
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
19:57
SPEAKER_00: Now, um, want to get into a couple games from around the league this week.
20:05
SPEAKER_00: Just a little recap in case you missed them.
20:08
SPEAKER_00: That's why you tune in, right?
20:09
SPEAKER_00: You tune in so I can keep you updated, so I can keep you informed.
20:12
SPEAKER_00: I'm your knowledge.
20:14
SPEAKER_00: I'm the guy that lets you know what's going on around the league.
20:17
SPEAKER_00: So you can brag to your friends, tell them what's what tell your friends, tell your friends.
20:22
SPEAKER_00: Shout out Craig Carton.
20:23
SPEAKER_00: So uh Ravens, Lions on Monday night was a hell of a game.
20:29
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
20:31
SPEAKER_00: And it's a it's a tough loss for the Ravens.
20:35
SPEAKER_00: Ravens one and two to start.
20:37
SPEAKER_00: Nobody had that on their nobody had that on their bingo card.
20:41
SPEAKER_00: But I don't think they're that bad.
20:44
SPEAKER_00: I don't think they're as bad as they actually are.
20:46
SPEAKER_00: I think they just had a tough schedule.
20:47
SPEAKER_00: And now this week coming up, they're at Kansas City.
20:51
SPEAKER_00: But credit where credit is due.
20:54
SPEAKER_00: Uh Detroit lost a bad game early, week one, and everybody kind of sold on them.
21:00
SPEAKER_00: And Detroit lined right up over Baltimore's bruiser defense.
21:05
SPEAKER_00: Whatever they want to.
21:06
SPEAKER_00: Gibbs and Montgomery both score and Amon Ross scores.
21:10
SPEAKER_00: That's high offensive power.
21:13
SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
21:14
SPEAKER_00: Uh, and on top of it, too, the defense looked good.
21:18
SPEAKER_00: They sacked Lamar a bunch.
21:20
SPEAKER_00: Derek fumbled again, which is a whole nother problem.
21:23
SPEAKER_00: Derek Henry fumbled and used to never be a thing.
21:26
SPEAKER_00: And now all of a sudden he's fumbled three times in three games, twice in one game, and they were all like key fumbles.
21:34
SPEAKER_00: And he owned it.
21:36
SPEAKER_00: I'll give Derek credit.
21:37
SPEAKER_00: He owned it.
21:38
SPEAKER_00: Fumbles in three games is uh uncharacteristic, to say the least.
21:43
SPEAKER_00: But it's real.
21:46
SPEAKER_00: And now short week going into Kansas City.
21:49
SPEAKER_00: Now looking forward, I want to uh touch on the NFC game of the week for sure.
21:56
SPEAKER_00: It's uh Green Bay at Dallas.
21:59
SPEAKER_00: Micah coming home with a mountain of vitriol against his former team and against Jerry Jones in Jerry World.
22:12
SPEAKER_00: Micah all week on his podcast talking about, you know, when I I'm gonna look and forward to Sack and Dak.
22:18
SPEAKER_00: And then he also today threw out a little line that is great to know.
22:23
SPEAKER_00: It's a good little tidbit for you.
22:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh he still has his suite at Jerry World.
22:29
SPEAKER_00: So I guess in his contract he bought the suite or he was given the suite or he had to pay for his suite or whatever it was.
22:35
SPEAKER_00: But after getting traded, he wasn't Jerry wouldn't refund him.
22:42
SPEAKER_00: He had to pay for it before the season started, and then Jerry wouldn't refund him for the suite.
22:47
SPEAKER_00: So guess who still has his suite in Jerry World that doesn't play for Jerry World for Dallas?
22:54
SPEAKER_00: Micah.
22:55
SPEAKER_00: So you don't think he's gonna put his whole family up there and he's gonna rip Dak's head off?
23:02
unknown: Oh, God.
23:04
SPEAKER_00: Dallas' secondary has been so bad, and Jordan Love and the Packers coming off a bad loss to the to the Browns last week.
23:12
SPEAKER_00: This this be a bloodbath.
23:14
SPEAKER_00: Like a bloodbath when the Cowboys beat uh the Giants 40-nothing.
23:19
SPEAKER_00: This might be real ugly.
23:23
SPEAKER_00: Alright, that's kind of it for football this week.
23:26
SPEAKER_00: There uh might have been a couple other things to maybe gloss over here and there.
23:30
SPEAKER_00: Jaden Daniels might play.
23:32
SPEAKER_00: We'll see how he gets cleared.
23:35
SPEAKER_00: Um Janti's run block is just terrible.
23:38
SPEAKER_00: They're playing Janti is getting uh a bad rap, but the Raiders offensive line is just god-awful.
23:46
SPEAKER_00: The long of the short is uh for the Giants, Dart gets the nod, and I like them to cover, I like them to be in the game, but they need to protect the kid.
24:00
SPEAKER_00: And for the Jets, Monday night, Leanne.
24:03
SPEAKER_00: Listen, you're going against an 0-3 team just the same as you.
24:06
SPEAKER_00: To quote Parcells, your record is what you're what it says you are.
24:12
SPEAKER_00: I think that's the line.
24:13
SPEAKER_00: Close enough.
24:14
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean.
24:17
SPEAKER_00: So Jets, go out and get a win, please.
24:21
SPEAKER_00: Just bury Daniels.
24:23
SPEAKER_00: He'll get fired if they go on four lose to a division rival.
24:30
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
24:32
SPEAKER_00: Monday's gonna be brutal.
24:34
SPEAKER_00: I I could feel it already.
24:37
SPEAKER_00: Anyway, coming up, we got MOB chaos.
24:41
SPEAKER_00: The Mets are in an absolute knife fight trying to fend off the Reds and the Diamondbacks and the Giants for the final wild card spot.
24:50
SPEAKER_00: The Yankees clinch your division, which or excuse me, not clinch your division, clinch a playoff spot.
24:56
SPEAKER_00: And now they're trying to make a play for the division, and Toronto is doing Toronto things and throwing it away.
25:04
SPEAKER_00: Plus, we got some poll results from this week's Wednesday mic check.
25:08
SPEAKER_00: So keep it right here.
25:09
SPEAKER_00: Stay with me.
25:10
SPEAKER_00: We'll catch you in a bit.
25:36
SPEAKER_00: I swear.
25:37
SPEAKER_00: It's just apple juice.
25:41
SPEAKER_00: Well, time to talk some baseball.
25:45
SPEAKER_00: And there's only four games left in something I devoted my whole summer to.
25:53
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I started my podcast in March.
25:58
SPEAKER_00: March, I think was the first episode.
26:01
SPEAKER_00: And that was right around pitchers and catchers in the spring training.
26:06
SPEAKER_00: And now here we are.
26:08
SPEAKER_00: Four games left in the season.
26:12
SPEAKER_00: Yankees clinched.
26:14
SPEAKER_00: They clinched a team that looked dead in July, and every single person was getting ready to bury.
26:26
SPEAKER_00: Congratulations, Yankee fans.
26:28
SPEAKER_00: You have made the playoffs for another straight year.
26:34
SPEAKER_00: And not only have you clinched, you're now a tied atop the AL East.
26:41
SPEAKER_00: Toronto has had an absolute choke job.
26:43
SPEAKER_00: You got four games left to play.
26:46
SPEAKER_00: The Blue Jays do hold the tiebreaker, but you guys went from maybe being the third wild card, maybe being the second, to now you could win the division and have the best overall record.
26:58
SPEAKER_00: And you know why?
27:00
SPEAKER_00: Because Aaron Judge, I hate to say it, and I hate.
27:06
SPEAKER_00: No, I don't hate.
27:07
SPEAKER_00: I don't hate to give this man credit because this man deserves all the credit.
27:13
SPEAKER_00: You know, I watched a lot of good hitters in my age.
27:17
SPEAKER_00: I watched Carlos Beltran, I watched Mike Trout, I watched Ken Griffe, you know, I watched those guys.
27:27
SPEAKER_00: How lucky am I?
27:28
SPEAKER_00: How lucky are we?
27:31
SPEAKER_00: That I hate to say it, we get to watch probably the best right-handed hitter of all time in our generation.
27:40
SPEAKER_00: Aaron Judge is uh he's like Tom Brady, okay?
27:48
SPEAKER_00: He is plays for a team that I absolutely hate, that I cannot stand, but god damn it, is he good and do I recognize the greatness?
28:00
SPEAKER_00: So they clinch, they pop the champagne, they clinch the playoffs berth, no matter what it is, even though they're still chasing a division.
28:09
SPEAKER_00: Cal Riley hits 60 home runs and makes a case for MVP, keep going at him.
28:16
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Judge hits 50 and then 51 in the same game that night.
28:22
SPEAKER_00: That's four, four.
28:24
SPEAKER_00: One, two, three, four straight seasons of 50 straight home runs.
28:29
SPEAKER_00: Do you know who else is on that list?
28:32
SPEAKER_00: Ruth, Maguire, Sosa, and Judge.
28:38
SPEAKER_00: And two of which, while they weren't 6'8, 270, they were probably 6'1 and juiced out of their minds.
28:50
SPEAKER_00: When I always say it, when you start getting compared to guys that their photo is black and white, you know you're doing something right.
29:00
SPEAKER_00: That's Clayton Kershaw, that's uh I don't know, whoever else you can think of.
29:07
SPEAKER_00: But that's the list.
29:09
SPEAKER_00: 50 home runs in four straight seasons.
29:13
SPEAKER_00: Ruth, Maguire, Sosa, and Judge.
29:17
SPEAKER_00: Not to mention the pitching is without Garrett Cole is doing great.
29:24
SPEAKER_00: Max Freed has been worth every penny.
29:27
SPEAKER_00: When they signed him, I was like, oh God, they really overpaid him, you know, but you know, he'll be good for five years, four years, not the seven.
29:35
SPEAKER_00: Doesn't matter.
29:36
SPEAKER_00: He racked up his 19th win last night.
29:40
SPEAKER_00: And yeah, it's against the White Sox, but who cares?
29:43
SPEAKER_00: That's six straight for him.
29:45
SPEAKER_00: I think earlier in the season, his ERA after a Yankees loss was like sub one.
29:51
SPEAKER_00: And the Yankees have won seven of the last eight.
29:54
SPEAKER_00: So if you're trying to make a play for the division, that's exactly what you should be doing.
29:59
SPEAKER_00: And the part Poll that I posted on uh the Wednesday mic check, which you guys should all tap into.
30:05
SPEAKER_00: You guys are all in agreement.
30:07
SPEAKER_00: It's full send for the division.
30:09
SPEAKER_00: It was either rest guys, now that you clinch the playoff spot or go for the division.
30:15
SPEAKER_00: 75% of you said, I'm with you to go get the division.
30:20
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you play this out, right?
30:22
SPEAKER_00: Home field matters in uh in the MLB.
30:26
SPEAKER_00: And this lineup is heating up exactly when it's supposed to.
30:31
SPEAKER_00: Belly has looked great, Stanton is back.
30:35
SPEAKER_00: Um Gian looks good.
30:39
SPEAKER_00: He's a monster in the playoffs.
30:42
SPEAKER_00: Who else?
30:43
SPEAKER_00: Who am I missing?
30:43
SPEAKER_00: Who am I missing?
30:44
SPEAKER_00: Ben Rice, shout out Rice on the mics.
30:47
SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean the Yankees, their path, again, the AL is easier than the NL, right?
31:01
SPEAKER_00: And it looked like it was a little bit harder this year, but it turns out it's not.
31:09
SPEAKER_00: So how do you not make a case for the Yankees going back to the World Series?
31:15
SPEAKER_00: Game one, they walk off the White Sox on a bloop hit to center that looked like Michael Taylor should have dove for it, but he didn't.
31:24
SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
31:24
SPEAKER_00: It's the White Sox.
31:25
SPEAKER_00: You guys have like 35 wins.
31:26
SPEAKER_00: Who gives a shit, right?
31:28
SPEAKER_00: That's the game they clinch.
31:29
SPEAKER_00: So now you figure, okay, we take the next game off, whatever.
31:32
SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, no.
31:33
SPEAKER_00: Game two, they blast Chicago.
31:37
SPEAKER_00: And that's the momentum that you need to carry going into the postseason.
31:42
SPEAKER_00: This feels like a team that's playing for October, that is finding their October timing.
31:49
SPEAKER_00: This is good for Yankee fans.
31:51
SPEAKER_00: This is this is where you want to be.
31:53
SPEAKER_00: Houston is out.
31:55
SPEAKER_00: They lost the division to Seattle.
31:57
SPEAKER_00: So you don't have to go to the House of Horrors that Seattle, uh, excuse me, that Houston has been.
32:02
SPEAKER_00: And now you're looking at a wild card of the Red Sox or maybe even Toronto if you win the division.
32:12
SPEAKER_00: Hey, God bless you.
32:13
SPEAKER_00: Everybody thought this team was dead in July.
32:18
SPEAKER_00: Another team that's been playing like they've been fucking dead since July is the Mets.
32:25
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you gotta believe, just believe the amazing Mets.
32:29
SPEAKER_00: Ba ba ba.
32:31
SPEAKER_00: Dude, get get out of here with that.
32:34
SPEAKER_00: I I have never, I've been watching the Mets as long as I can remember.
32:40
SPEAKER_00: I've never felt this way with any of those teams of how I feel with this team now.
32:49
SPEAKER_00: The roller coaster that I have had to go through with this team all season, I dedicated my summer to you, hoping and expecting you guys to be a two-seed, a monster, a win the division, something, anything.
33:05
SPEAKER_00: And now my Jets are 0-3, and the Rangers, who cares?
33:10
SPEAKER_00: I I Queens, we are in playoff baseball now.
33:20
SPEAKER_00: We've honestly been in playoff baseball the past couple weeks, and the ups and downs, the roller coaster has been unbearable.
33:33
SPEAKER_00: I have been through the 07 collapse.
33:35
SPEAKER_00: I have been through the 2000 Subway series, I have been through the years when Alejandro DeAzza was my leadoff man.
33:45
SPEAKER_00: I watched Lucas Duda throw and sail that ball from first behind home to watch the Royals beat me in a World Series.
33:55
SPEAKER_00: I've never felt better about a team than how I feel now.
34:00
SPEAKER_00: But Jesus Christ, you guys are making it so hard to root for you.
34:06
SPEAKER_00: They lost control of their destiny on Sunday.
34:10
SPEAKER_00: And I I literally like, all right, I'm done.
34:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm out.
34:14
SPEAKER_00: It's over.
34:15
SPEAKER_00: I was ready to get rid of it.
34:18
SPEAKER_00: And then right away Tuesday, they get it back.
34:21
SPEAKER_00: And then right away Wednesday, they give it right back to.
34:25
SPEAKER_00: Tuesday, Tuesday was the template for what this team really is, right?
34:29
SPEAKER_00: They're a mashu bash you never say no, never say die team.
34:35
SPEAKER_00: They're down 6'1 at Wrigley, huge game.
34:39
SPEAKER_00: Then you get a hit.
34:40
SPEAKER_00: Then you get another hit.
34:41
SPEAKER_00: Then they get a run.
34:43
SPEAKER_00: Then Nimmo ties it up with a three-run shot, and then Lindor sets the table, and Alvarez comes in and sends one to the moon.
34:52
SPEAKER_00: A kid that he's gone through so much trouble this year, Alvarez, and he is the catcher of the future.
35:00
SPEAKER_00: I was wrong.
35:00
SPEAKER_00: Earlier in the year, I said maybe we should trade him.
35:04
SPEAKER_00: Maybe we're not.
35:05
SPEAKER_00: I was dumb for that, and I'll fully admit that.
35:08
SPEAKER_00: This kid is playing through injury.
35:10
SPEAKER_00: He's got a torn UCL in his thumb as a catcher, and I think it's on his catching hand, can't figure out his swing, hitting like lessen his weight, gets sent down to the miners, figures it out, comes back up, tears his UCL, goes back down to rehab, gets hurt again, gets plunked in the other hand, fractures his hand.
35:32
SPEAKER_00: I mean, if Alvarez isn't the lifeblood of this team, I don't know who is.
35:41
SPEAKER_00: Somebody who says never say die, right?
35:47
SPEAKER_00: The season has been a grind.
35:50
SPEAKER_00: It's been a mess.
35:52
SPEAKER_00: We have used the most amount of pitchers uh in MLB history in a season.
35:59
SPEAKER_00: The bullpen is in shambles, the starting rotation is in shambles, but they just keep bashing their way out of problems.
36:09
SPEAKER_00: So just keep going, boys.
36:12
SPEAKER_00: Just clean up the errors, clean up the bullshit.
36:15
SPEAKER_00: And they've been unlucky against the Nationals.
36:18
SPEAKER_00: They should have won a couple of those games, but there was like literally like uh I think somebody got robbed of a home run, and then the other one was uh the center fielder like caught the ball, dropped the ball, kicked it off his foot, caught it back into his glove.
36:31
SPEAKER_00: Like, if that's not the epitome of the Met season, I don't know what it is.
36:35
SPEAKER_00: But if you zoom out, since June, they were the best team in baseball.
36:44
SPEAKER_00: Since mid-July, they've been a sub-500 club.
36:49
SPEAKER_00: And they have nobody to blame but themselves.
36:51
SPEAKER_00: Not the hitting coach.
36:53
SPEAKER_00: Mendoza has made a couple bad moves here and there.
36:57
SPEAKER_00: But it's the players.
37:01
SPEAKER_00: It's the pitching.
37:02
SPEAKER_00: It's a combination of everything.
37:07
SPEAKER_00: The margin that we're living at right now is as slim as a needle.
37:12
SPEAKER_00: One catch, one throw, one brain cramp miscue on the bases is enough to make you lose the game.
37:24
SPEAKER_00: And the reds are breathing right down your neck.
37:32
SPEAKER_00: For all the good you've done, you've come down to now the final three, four games.
37:39
SPEAKER_00: Being up a game on the Reds, Who Own the Tiebreaker over you, and two games up on the Diamondbacks, who own the tiebreaker over you.
37:50
SPEAKER_00: I mean it's amazing that it's come this far, and you have to be better.
37:58
SPEAKER_00: But here we are.
38:03
SPEAKER_00: It is what it is.
38:08
SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
38:09
SPEAKER_00: Uh you won't it you won't find me like that.
38:13
SPEAKER_00: It won't be me.
38:15
SPEAKER_00: I root for this team until the day that's over.
38:18
SPEAKER_00: It's not over.
38:18
SPEAKER_00: The one thing in sports is that it's not over until the fat of things.
38:22
SPEAKER_00: The Mets have blown enough ninth inning leads that I know that that's true.
38:31
SPEAKER_00: Going forward, every decision needs to be October style baseball.
38:36
SPEAKER_00: Short hook for starters, not that they're going long anyway.
38:40
SPEAKER_00: High leverage bullpen.
38:42
SPEAKER_00: I mean, if Diaz needs to get five, six outs, that's what it needs to be.
38:48
SPEAKER_00: If defense costs you, pull them.
38:50
SPEAKER_00: They did it already with Siri.
38:52
SPEAKER_00: Siri looked like he was fucking lost out there.
38:54
SPEAKER_00: Looks like he's never played baseball before at center field.
38:57
SPEAKER_00: Guy was supposed to be a defensive replacement for center field, and he took the worst angle.
39:02
SPEAKER_00: He took an angle like a softball team to go get a ball.
39:06
SPEAKER_00: Cut.
39:08
SPEAKER_00: Clean the infield throws, know the base stats, back up the bags for God's sakes.
39:14
SPEAKER_00: I watched Pete Crow Armstrong steal, take home on a pass ball.
39:18
SPEAKER_00: He was standing on second.
39:20
SPEAKER_00: What do you what?
39:22
SPEAKER_00: Back up the fucking plays, know where you're supposed to be.
39:25
SPEAKER_00: If you're gonna win ugly by bashing teams, at least be tidy.
39:30
SPEAKER_00: Okay, no errors.
39:32
SPEAKER_00: That's the only path right now.
39:34
SPEAKER_00: The only path to success.
39:35
SPEAKER_00: And uh and a quick note here, too.
39:38
SPEAKER_00: Just I've been preaching it all year.
39:40
SPEAKER_00: Soto might have a 40-40 year.
39:44
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
39:46
SPEAKER_00: And his uh his error that he had in uh right a couple days ago, that was his first error of the season.
39:54
SPEAKER_00: Believe it or not.
39:56
SPEAKER_00: Somebody who's bad on the bags, bad on the bases, is a liability in right, and you know, isn't happy with the team, isn't whatever.
40:07
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's got 43 home runs, almost 40 stolen bases, made his first error in September.
40:14
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
40:15
SPEAKER_00: Soto's good.
40:17
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, he's not good, he's great.
40:21
SPEAKER_00: And guess what?
40:22
SPEAKER_00: I got him on my team for the next 15 years.
40:26
SPEAKER_00: Even if he's only good for 10 of them, I don't care.
40:30
SPEAKER_00: I got him.
40:32
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
40:33
SPEAKER_00: Lindor hit 30 home runs, Pete's over 30 home runs, Soto's got 40 home runs.
40:38
SPEAKER_00: I got out that for the next 15 years.
40:43
SPEAKER_01: Ooh!
40:46
SPEAKER_00: Alright, enough with the Mets, enough with the locals.
40:50
SPEAKER_00: Couple quick things around the league.
40:52
SPEAKER_00: Uh Raleigh, Cal Rally, if you haven't been paying attention, uh, is making his play for AL MVP over Judge.
41:00
SPEAKER_00: Judge leads a lot of the categories that people deem important, but again, when you start putting your picture next to people that are next to people that are in black and white, like Mickey Mannle, I would say you're doing something right.
41:19
SPEAKER_00: Kyle Riley hit 60 home run, well, excuse me, he hit 59, and then he hits in the same game, and 60 was a moonshot.
41:27
SPEAKER_00: Literally, like third deck last row moonshot.
41:31
SPEAKER_00: He passes Griffey for the Seattle record.
41:34
SPEAKER_00: He passed Mickey Mannle.
41:38
SPEAKER_00: And he might pass Judge for 63 all the time.
41:45
SPEAKER_00: His odds for MVP, Judge was at like minus 2,000 like two weeks ago.
41:51
SPEAKER_00: And now Riley is the favorite at minus 200.
41:56
SPEAKER_00: It's kind of the LeBron factor.
41:58
SPEAKER_00: The same thing kind of goes against Otani and Judge.
42:00
SPEAKER_00: Like Otani's clearly always going to win in the NL, and Judge could clearly always win in the AL, but eventually, you know, you get bored of giving it to them, like you do with LeBron.
42:11
SPEAKER_00: Somebody else has to win it.
42:12
SPEAKER_00: This is the year for Cal to win that.
42:15
SPEAKER_00: Not to mention they clinched the division for the first time since 2001.
42:22
SPEAKER_00: Seattle hasn't clinched a division since 2001.
42:24
SPEAKER_00: That's worse than the Jets.
42:26
SPEAKER_00: The Jets went to the playoffs in 2008 and 2009, or 2009, 2010, whatever it was.
42:34
SPEAKER_00: They haven't clinched a division since 2001.
42:37
SPEAKER_00: That's insane.
42:39
SPEAKER_00: What else?
42:40
SPEAKER_00: What else?
42:40
SPEAKER_00: What else around the league?
42:41
SPEAKER_00: What else?
42:42
SPEAKER_00: What else?
42:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, the Guardians absolutely hunted down the Tigers for the division leave.
42:50
SPEAKER_00: They now own the division.
42:52
SPEAKER_00: Uh they were down 15 games.
42:55
SPEAKER_00: Tigers dropped eight of their last nine, and I think 12 of their last 15.
43:00
SPEAKER_00: And the end of September was six games with Cleveland, and Cleveland won all six of those games.
43:09
SPEAKER_00: So Cleveland now goes.
43:11
SPEAKER_00: Excuse me, Detroit now goes from being the potential one seed in the AL to maybe not even making the playoffs.
43:20
SPEAKER_00: That's insane.
43:21
SPEAKER_00: What a collapse by Detroit.
43:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh Philly, foo Philly, Ungats.
43:30
SPEAKER_00: Philly uh locked up the one seed over the Dodgers and the Padres, who are both still fighting each other for the divisions.
43:37
SPEAKER_00: Schwarber is up to 56 home runs on the year, making a solid case for Annal MVP.
43:43
SPEAKER_00: And Skeens, who has future Yankee written all over him, finished his final start, and his ERA is a 1.97.
43:55
SPEAKER_00: And I think he has seven wins on the season.
44:00
SPEAKER_00: That's the youngest ERA since Dwight Gooden.
44:02
SPEAKER_00: He's the Cy Young favorite, and it's not even close.
44:05
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he he's taking it running away.
44:08
SPEAKER_00: Lastly, a little bit of news to uh touch on for next season.
44:12
SPEAKER_00: Robot umpires are here, baby.
44:14
SPEAKER_00: And I can't wait.
44:16
SPEAKER_00: I know some people are against it.
44:18
SPEAKER_00: They want to talk about um the whole thing about baseball is uh subject to the game, subject to eyes, whatever.
44:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's all fun in games until you get guys like Angel Hernandez and Bill Miller who are absolutely terrible in the zone.
44:35
SPEAKER_00: And it's been instituted in the minor leagues for a couple years now.
44:40
SPEAKER_00: So a lot of these young kids already know the zone super well.
44:44
SPEAKER_00: A lot of these umpires are gonna get humbled real quick.
44:49
SPEAKER_00: And good, by the way.
44:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm not arguing balls and strikes.
44:53
SPEAKER_00: I'm in the fucking mocks.
44:55
SPEAKER_00: I know what is a strike and what's not.
44:57
SPEAKER_00: If I get punched out on something, okay, fine, whatever.
45:00
SPEAKER_00: But if you punch me out on something that I know wasn't a strike, now I get to finally let you know about it.
45:06
SPEAKER_00: It's great.
45:07
SPEAKER_00: And yes, eventually, probably sooner rather than later, you're going to get a big, you know, playoff game decision of was that a strike, was that not a strike, two strikes.
45:22
SPEAKER_00: The crowd celebrates because they got called a strike and now it's not a strike and they challenge.
45:26
SPEAKER_00: That's gonna happen.
45:28
SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
45:28
SPEAKER_00: Let that happen.
45:29
SPEAKER_00: I'd rather the game be called right than Joe Blow behind the plate have a little bit of an ego because you jumped out of the box a little early on a 3-1 pitch, and now the next pitch guaranteed is gonna be a strike.
45:43
SPEAKER_00: Fuck that.
45:44
SPEAKER_00: Call the game correctly.
45:50
SPEAKER_00: So what's next?
45:52
SPEAKER_00: Well, Yankees finish the chase and they win the division, or they don't.
45:59
SPEAKER_00: If you clinch the two seed regardless, so see where you're at and then reasset, re- see where you're at, reassess, and uh set your rotation up.
46:11
SPEAKER_00: But until then, go for bro.
46:13
SPEAKER_00: Full ascent.
46:15
SPEAKER_00: For the Mets, well, you got three games left with no safety net, going against the Marlins, who spoiled you back in 07 and would love nothing more than to spoil you now.
46:30
SPEAKER_00: They even moved uh their ace up in the rotation to start this week.
46:37
SPEAKER_00: Look, if you're down early, do your best, quick hook, get it going.
46:44
SPEAKER_00: And if you got a lead late, eight, seven, three, four, whatever, and it's the eighth, seventh, but it's three, four, five, two, three, four in the order, fuck it.
46:56
SPEAKER_00: Bring in Diaz.
46:58
SPEAKER_00: Get the guys out that you need to get out, and use your best pitchers when you got them.
47:05
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
47:06
SPEAKER_00: Baseball has been uh a roller coaster.
47:10
SPEAKER_00: And the next time we meet, the Mets will either be in the playoffs or they won't.
47:14
SPEAKER_00: And the Yankees will either won the division or they haven't.
47:18
SPEAKER_00: Can't wait to see you guys next week for that.
47:21
SPEAKER_00: For now, uh, we're gonna update the betting card.
47:25
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna pop into the rolling the dice with rice segment.
47:30
SPEAKER_00: Talk about our picks last week and what I got going forward.
47:33
SPEAKER_00: We're also gonna touch on a little bit of fantasy stuff, and mix in the mailbag too.
47:39
SPEAKER_00: Stay tuned.
47:40
SPEAKER_00: I'll be right here.
48:11
SPEAKER_00: The polls that I put out every Wednesday that you guys vote on, the mailbag that you guys write in on, uh some fantasy picks to help your fantasy team get better and beat your friends so you can talk shit to them, and also our gambling picks, so hopefully we can make a little bit of money.
48:39
SPEAKER_00: First things first, we will start with the polls that I put out this week.
48:45
SPEAKER_00: First on the list was uh Russ, trade or hold.
48:50
SPEAKER_00: And we went over this during the Giants segment a little bit, but 58% say get what you can, and 42% say keep him as insurance.
49:03
SPEAKER_00: So just about a little more than half want to trade Russ away.
49:08
SPEAKER_00: We'll see how it goes.
49:09
SPEAKER_00: We'll see what happens in the coming weeks.
49:11
SPEAKER_00: Uh the next was will the Mets make the playoffs?
49:14
SPEAKER_00: And it was a nice little slider and it was at about 60%.
49:20
SPEAKER_00: A lot of Met fans, a lot of Yankee fans, a lot of Philly fans in my DMs.
49:26
SPEAKER_00: So 60%.
49:28
SPEAKER_00: All right, I'll take over 50.
49:31
SPEAKER_00: They better.
49:32
SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll leave it at that.
49:35
SPEAKER_00: Next was uh Yankees Path.
49:38
SPEAKER_00: So they clinched a playoff berth, but the options were full send for the division or rescue guys.
49:47
SPEAKER_00: And 65% of you said full send for the division.
49:52
SPEAKER_00: I don't blame you.
49:53
SPEAKER_00: Go for broke, stay hot.
49:54
SPEAKER_00: Baseball is one of those sports where you don't want to rest guys, you want to keep them in the rhythm.
50:00
SPEAKER_00: Stay hot.
50:02
SPEAKER_00: Uh I put out uh Micah is back in Dallas poll.
50:06
SPEAKER_00: Who do you got?
50:07
SPEAKER_00: Green Bay or um Dallas.
50:12
SPEAKER_00: It was 100% with 50 votes Packers.
50:20
SPEAKER_00: Not one person out of 50 people voted for Dallas.
50:26
SPEAKER_00: I I don't know if you guys know the meme with the uh Monday night football curse when everybody picks the same team and then the other team wins.
50:37
SPEAKER_00: But 55 55 votes all on Dallas, uh excuse me, all on the Packers.
50:45
SPEAKER_00: I'm with you.
50:46
SPEAKER_00: I I think uh Green Bay wins this game running away.
50:52
SPEAKER_00: But 55 people.
50:56
SPEAKER_00: Uh next on the list was Jets trade for cornerback Jarvis Bradley Jr.
51:02
SPEAKER_00: And the options were it fixes the secondary or it's just a band-aid.
51:09
SPEAKER_00: 88.
51:10
SPEAKER_00: 88% said it was just a band-aid.
51:14
SPEAKER_00: I I I tend to agree.
51:16
SPEAKER_00: We'll see what the kid turns into.
51:18
SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, uh Aaron Glenn can help him out, but this is more of just a quick fix than a real fix.
51:29
SPEAKER_00: And then the last poll was the fantasy panic.
51:32
SPEAKER_00: Uh who are you most worried about?
51:34
SPEAKER_00: Drake London, Chase Brown, Ash and Janty, or Ladd McConkie?
51:40
SPEAKER_00: 38% for both Drake London and Chase Brown, uh, 25% for Ash and Janty, 0% for McConkie.
51:51
SPEAKER_00: Ladd has had a pretty good season so far, but not great.
51:54
SPEAKER_00: Uh Jantey is subject to bad offensive line play and just bad scheme.
52:02
SPEAKER_00: They're running a zone scheme like Le'Veon Bell for him when really he needs to be more in a Derrick Henry.
52:10
SPEAKER_00: Here's the whole go knock somebody over scheme.
52:14
SPEAKER_00: The worry for Drake London and uh uh Chase Brown is real.
52:23
SPEAKER_00: I thought Michael Pannox would be better than this, he is not.
52:27
SPEAKER_00: Uh you get shut out 30-nothing against Carolina, but not great.
52:32
SPEAKER_00: And Chase Brown with no Joe Burrow, that means very little dump offs, and Jamar Chase and T.
52:44
SPEAKER_00: Higgins not uh taking coverage away to soften the front seven, Chase Brown is in trouble.
52:56
SPEAKER_00: So uh going from fantasy panic meter to now some fantasy football advice for you guys, there's been a lot of quarterback injuries lately, and there have been um some tight end inconsistencies, I guess.
53:16
SPEAKER_00: So if you're hurting at either position, here are a couple streamers that you could pick up if they're not picked up already, or guys that you don't feel too bad about stashing.
53:30
SPEAKER_00: Starting with tight ends, because tight end is, you know, a mess.
53:34
SPEAKER_00: Hunter Henry.
53:35
SPEAKER_00: If Hunter Henry is not picked up in your league, pick him up.
53:41
SPEAKER_00: Uh his usage has spiked with Drake May.
53:46
SPEAKER_00: He's had two touchdowns in the last week, and Carolina coming up bleeds tight end volume.
53:54
SPEAKER_00: Uh Chig and Gonkwu out of Tennessee.
53:57
SPEAKER_00: Uh uh Houston's 0-3.
53:59
SPEAKER_00: They're definitely dying for a win.
54:01
SPEAKER_00: It's a division game.
54:03
SPEAKER_00: But I thought Calvin Ridley was going to be the man in that offense.
54:09
SPEAKER_00: He has become uh Chig and Gonquu has become Cam Ward's security blanket, which every tight end seems to be for a rookie quarterback, but he's got six targets.
54:20
SPEAKER_00: He went five for 66 in the last game.
54:23
SPEAKER_00: If you're in a PPR league, that's 10 points right there.
54:25
SPEAKER_00: You take 10 points out of your tight end all day.
54:28
SPEAKER_00: Uh Brenton Strange in Jacksonville, they're at San Francisco.
54:33
SPEAKER_00: Lawrence and him have chemistry.
54:35
SPEAKER_00: He's trying to figure out BTJ, he's trying to figure out uh Travis Hunter, and San Francisco has a lot of tight end touchdown in back-to-back weeks.
54:45
SPEAKER_00: So just a quick filler, you know, if you have some dog shit tight end on your uh roster that you're not sure about starting, a couple guys worth maybe picking up.
54:56
SPEAKER_00: And then on the other side of that Tennessee matchup, Dalton Schultz for Houston, he looks like Shroud's number two option behind Nico Collins.
55:04
SPEAKER_00: Uh he gets plenty of routes, he gets plenty of looks, and he's a huge target in the red zone.
55:13
SPEAKER_00: So if you're touchdown dependent for a tight end, Dalton Schultz could play.
55:18
SPEAKER_00: Now, quarterbacks.
55:22
SPEAKER_00: There are some situational things that have happened that might be worth stashing as a player and some injury things too.
55:32
SPEAKER_00: So obviously, first on the list of a stash is Jackson Dart.
55:38
SPEAKER_00: Look, no one knows what he's gonna turn into.
55:41
SPEAKER_00: He might be able to sling it, he might throw four picks, who knows?
55:45
SPEAKER_00: But when you have Malik Neighbors and even Wandell Robinson and a good defense and Cam Scatterbo, the kid is getting set up offensively for some good players, some good game scripts, maybe even if they're getting blown out, he'll have to throw.
56:06
SPEAKER_00: So Jackson Dart is definitely a good stash to pick up.
56:10
SPEAKER_00: Uh for the Chargers, Najee is out.
56:14
SPEAKER_00: I know this isn't really quarterbacks, but Najee's out.
56:17
SPEAKER_00: So if you do have O'Marion Hampton on your roster, if you drafted him early, definitely going forward, going to be a great player to start every week.
56:27
SPEAKER_00: He's just going to see so much usage because there's no one really else in that backfield.
56:33
SPEAKER_00: Uh CeeDee Lamb fucking rolled his ankle, killing me in a couple of my fantasy leagues.
56:42
SPEAKER_00: But George Pickens now becomes wide receiver one.
56:46
SPEAKER_00: And if you had any thought of CD being good, George Pickens is a Jace.
56:54
SPEAKER_00: He's right behind him.
56:55
SPEAKER_00: He's gonna get fed by Dak.
56:57
SPEAKER_00: And again, if they're secondary, can't hold anybody, they're gonna have to pass often.
57:03
SPEAKER_00: You can also bump up uh Jake Ferguson a little bit.
57:06
SPEAKER_00: And then for the Bucks, Mike Evans is out three or four weeks.
57:10
SPEAKER_00: So Buka, if you got him, awesome.
57:13
SPEAKER_00: Becomes wide receiver one.
57:14
SPEAKER_00: Sterling Shepard might see a little more work.
57:17
SPEAKER_00: You're waiting for Chris Godwin to come back.
57:19
SPEAKER_00: He might be back.
57:20
SPEAKER_00: Wait for Friday, see how it looks.
57:23
SPEAKER_00: Uh going back to quarterbacks, Justin Fields is back at practice.
57:28
SPEAKER_00: If he gets cleared, running against a weak uh run defense in Miami on Monday night.
57:35
SPEAKER_00: If you're down some points and you want to risk it to get the biscuit, Justin Fields could give you 22.
57:43
SPEAKER_00: He could also give you eight.
57:45
SPEAKER_00: So it's not the best pickup, but it's worth a look.
57:50
SPEAKER_00: Uh as far as the panic meter that we talked about before, like I said, Ash and Janty, he's got O-line issues.
57:58
SPEAKER_00: Um, there's no one really to split any roles with him, but don't sell.
58:04
SPEAKER_00: If anybody's knocking on your door, don't sell him.
58:07
SPEAKER_00: Hold on tight.
58:09
SPEAKER_00: And uh Drake London, same thing.
58:11
SPEAKER_00: Don't panic sell.
58:12
SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's gonna get better.
58:13
SPEAKER_00: Even if it's Kirk Cousins, it's gonna get better.
58:16
SPEAKER_00: Drake London is huge.
58:18
SPEAKER_00: He commands the ball.
58:20
SPEAKER_00: Kyle Pitts isn't doing anything, there's no one across from him.
58:23
SPEAKER_00: It's just Drake London and Bichon.
58:26
SPEAKER_00: Uh Chase Brown.
58:29
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
58:30
SPEAKER_00: If you get the right offer for Chase Brown, I'm not afraid to panic on Chase Brown here.
58:34
SPEAKER_00: He's gonna have super high usage and efficiency, but Jake Browning is is at so many levels below uh Joe Burrow.
58:51
SPEAKER_00: So the box is gonna be stacked, and Chase Brown going into the season was the can't miss gonna have a great season running back, and now it kind of looks like uh if you get the right offer, sell him.
59:07
SPEAKER_00: Uh as far as buy low prospects, Brock Bowers has not been great, not been bad, but if anybody in your league took Brock Bowers, they probably took him at a high price and probably missed out on a receiver or running back that they wanted.
59:27
SPEAKER_00: And he's gonna get better towards the end of the year.
59:31
SPEAKER_00: So if someone is willing to sell Brock Bowers at a decently low price, you should jump on that.
59:39
SPEAKER_00: Uh same thing with Lad McConkie.
59:41
SPEAKER_00: Lad McConkey has not bad stats, but not great.
59:45
SPEAKER_00: I think he's got like five for 66, 4 for 50, whatever.
59:50
SPEAKER_00: In a PPR, that's great, that's 10 points, but that's not really what you drafted him for.
59:53
SPEAKER_00: You drafted him for 17 points a game.
59:58
SPEAKER_00: Uh Justin Hurst.
1:00:00
SPEAKER_00: Herbert is a passing machine.
1:00:02
SPEAKER_00: Big bird slings that fucking thing.
1:00:06
SPEAKER_00: He's gonna be fine.
1:00:07
SPEAKER_00: If someone wants to sell him to you for low, buy.
1:00:13
SPEAKER_00: Um what else?
1:00:15
SPEAKER_00: What else?
1:00:15
SPEAKER_00: What else?
1:00:15
SPEAKER_00: What else?
1:00:16
SPEAKER_00: Uh a couple fantasy storylines to watch.
1:00:19
SPEAKER_00: Oh, here you go.
1:00:20
SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah.
1:00:21
SPEAKER_00: Patriots Backfield.
1:00:23
SPEAKER_00: Uh everybody and their mother was all over Trevion Henderson.
1:00:29
SPEAKER_00: I talked about it in the fantasy episode that I put out a couple weeks ago, well, before the season of Big Pharma.
1:00:37
SPEAKER_00: Well, it's big fantasy, you know, all the big names in fantasy told you to draft him and this, that, and the other, and he's been less than stellar, to say the least, for your fantasy team.
1:00:49
SPEAKER_00: But Ramondre Stevenson has fumbled a lot, and that's always been his problem.
1:00:56
SPEAKER_00: And Gibson fumbled a lot.
1:00:59
SPEAKER_00: That's always his problem.
1:01:01
SPEAKER_00: And Mike Vrabel is a true disciple of Bill Belichick.
1:01:08
SPEAKER_00: Making rookies earn their spot, making them earn their place on this team, and also not respecting guys that turn over the football.
1:01:21
SPEAKER_00: I expect a big jump usage in Trevion Henderson in these upcoming weeks.
1:01:28
SPEAKER_00: And all it's gonna take is for him to break one 40-yard run, and Vrabel's gonna start looking at his shops, and he's gonna be in, he's gonna be a three-down back.
1:01:38
SPEAKER_00: Uh who else do we got here?
1:01:41
SPEAKER_00: Uh well, the 49ers pass game.
1:01:44
SPEAKER_00: Purdy might start, might not, I don't know, but it's it doesn't matter.
1:01:48
SPEAKER_00: It's Kyle Shanahan.
1:01:49
SPEAKER_00: Brock Purdy was literally Mr.
1:01:51
SPEAKER_00: Irrelevant, and he's made this offense into an insane thing, and now Mac Jones takes over, and it's also the same thing.
1:02:00
SPEAKER_00: Um Ricky Pearsall is locked in wide receiver two every week.
1:02:05
SPEAKER_00: No ifs, ands, or buts.
1:02:08
SPEAKER_00: And we'll see what else happens.
1:02:10
SPEAKER_00: Christian McCaffrey dump offs, but it doesn't really matter who's playing quarterback, just you'll be good.
1:02:16
SPEAKER_00: Uh Packers at Cowboys, start everybody.
1:02:21
SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter who you have, start them all.
1:02:24
SPEAKER_00: Cowboys secondary is god-awful.
1:02:27
SPEAKER_00: Uh Diggs looks like he doesn't know how to play corner.
1:02:31
SPEAKER_00: They let up 450 yards to Russell Wilson and four touchdowns to Caleb Williams.
1:02:39
SPEAKER_00: That's all you need to know right there.
1:02:41
SPEAKER_00: Jordan Love is better than both of those guys.
1:02:44
SPEAKER_00: So is Matthew Golden, so is Romeo Dobbs, so is Tucker uh Tyler Kraft.
1:02:51
SPEAKER_00: If you got a Packers player, start him this week.
1:02:54
SPEAKER_00: No ifs, ands, or buts.
1:02:56
SPEAKER_00: Start him, don't look back.
1:03:00
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
1:03:05
SPEAKER_00: Now with the fantasy out of the way, and hopefully I can win you guys some leagues.
1:03:11
SPEAKER_00: Now we're gonna switch over to win you guys some money, hopefully.
1:03:16
SPEAKER_00: Uh this is the segment of rolling the dice with rice.
1:03:22
SPEAKER_00: It's our gambling picks, it's our weekly picks.
1:03:26
SPEAKER_00: I'll give you three games and then I'll pick both of my locals.
1:03:30
SPEAKER_00: Last week's card, uh, we went two and three.
1:03:32
SPEAKER_00: I got both the locals right, but uh and three on the other ones.
1:03:39
SPEAKER_00: The Packers, minus six and a half, killed everybody against the Browns.
1:03:47
SPEAKER_00: And I said it might be a trap game, so instead of six and a half, maybe buy it up to seven and a half, they fucking lost outright.
1:03:54
SPEAKER_00: It that killed literally hundreds of thousands of parlays for the week.
1:04:01
SPEAKER_00: I also had Falcons money line, and uh they lost 30-0.
1:04:06
SPEAKER_00: So that was great, awesome.
1:04:09
SPEAKER_00: And then I had Cowboys moneyline slash over.
1:04:14
SPEAKER_00: I really was more on the over than the moneyline, and the moneyline, the over, excuse me, the over was 49 and a half, and it finished at 44.
1:04:23
SPEAKER_00: They were just short.
1:04:25
SPEAKER_00: You know, is what it is, but did have Chiefs moneyline Sunday night against the Giants and had Jets plus four and a half.
1:04:32
SPEAKER_00: They covered because of the late blocked field goal.
1:04:35
SPEAKER_00: So, you know.
1:04:38
SPEAKER_00: Okay, two and three on the week, but we go forward.
1:04:42
SPEAKER_00: Okay?
1:04:43
SPEAKER_00: So here is the card for the week.
1:04:49
SPEAKER_00: First game on the list, Packers.
1:04:52
SPEAKER_00: I know I'm rolling with them again, but Packers minus six and a half versus the Cowboys.
1:04:57
SPEAKER_00: You could make this line 14 and a half.
1:05:00
SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
1:05:01
SPEAKER_00: Packers is gonna go into Jerry World after that bad loss of the Browns and destroy Dallas.
1:05:10
SPEAKER_00: Okay?
1:05:11
SPEAKER_00: Minus six and a half is nothing.
1:05:15
SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
1:05:17
SPEAKER_00: And Micah he can play it off like he's not really caring, or this, that, and the other, or he's a little interested.
1:05:26
SPEAKER_00: Micah is hell bent to destroy his former team, to destroy his former owner that disrespected him and that he doesn't want to play for and doesn't want to deal with.
1:05:43
SPEAKER_00: Micah might have five sacks.
1:05:46
SPEAKER_00: I'm taking Packers minus six and a half.
1:05:49
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take the over.
1:05:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take Micah for over two and a half sacks.
1:05:56
SPEAKER_00: I'm taking everything Green Bay I can.
1:05:58
SPEAKER_00: And if I'm wrong, then fuck it.
1:06:00
SPEAKER_00: So be it.
1:06:01
SPEAKER_00: But I'm telling you, this is the game you make your money off of.
1:06:05
SPEAKER_00: Hammer every prop you want.
1:06:07
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:06:09
SPEAKER_00: Game two.
1:06:11
SPEAKER_00: Uh Colts at Rams.
1:06:13
SPEAKER_00: Now, Daniel Jones, Mr.
1:06:15
SPEAKER_00: Indiana Jones, has looked good.
1:06:19
SPEAKER_00: And the Rams, Matthew Stafford, oh, is he hurt?
1:06:22
SPEAKER_00: Is he not hurt?
1:06:23
SPEAKER_00: Is he gonna be okay?
1:06:24
SPEAKER_00: Puka Nakua has been carrying my fantasy team.
1:06:27
SPEAKER_00: So Matthew Stafford and Kyron Williams and Puka Nakua definitely still have it.
1:06:32
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:06:34
SPEAKER_00: I like the over.
1:06:35
SPEAKER_00: Uh it's currently at 49 and a half.
1:06:39
SPEAKER_00: Daniel Jones is found a little resurgence.
1:06:45
SPEAKER_00: Tyler Warren is probably gonna be rookie of the year because the other running backs are not good.
1:06:53
SPEAKER_00: Um, Jonathan Taylor is running like he doesn't age.
1:06:57
SPEAKER_00: Daniel Jones looks like he has command of that offense, and the Rams at home always score points.
1:07:04
SPEAKER_00: 49 and a half seems like an easy number.
1:07:07
SPEAKER_00: I could see an easy 30, 30 game, you know, maybe even 24, I don't know, 32 game kind of deal.
1:07:18
SPEAKER_00: Over Colts at Rams.
1:07:20
SPEAKER_00: And last game on the card is Vikings, Steelers.
1:07:27
SPEAKER_00: And I'm taking the under.
1:07:28
SPEAKER_00: It's at 40 and a half.
1:07:30
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna bump it up to 42 and a half.
1:07:33
SPEAKER_00: Why would you take the under in this game?
1:07:35
SPEAKER_00: Steelers can score.
1:07:36
SPEAKER_00: Aaron Rodgers is a good quarterback, JJ McCarthy, Jordan Addison is coming back off suspension.
1:07:44
SPEAKER_00: They're in London.
1:07:46
SPEAKER_00: The rule is any London game, you take the under.
1:07:53
SPEAKER_00: Now, next week, the Vikings are also in London.
1:07:58
SPEAKER_00: That game, you take the over, or you take the Vikings.
1:08:02
SPEAKER_00: But it's both teams first week in London.
1:08:07
SPEAKER_00: The time difference, the whether just being on a plane for that long, the whole way, under.
1:08:16
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:08:17
SPEAKER_00: They're playing in front of fans who don't give a shit.
1:08:20
SPEAKER_00: They most of them wear Jacksonville jerseys.
1:08:23
SPEAKER_00: Take the under.
1:08:24
SPEAKER_00: Alright, as far as the locals, Chargers at Giants.
1:08:28
SPEAKER_00: Well, the building's gonna have a lot of juice for Dart.
1:08:31
SPEAKER_00: Um I think the defense keeps it tight.
1:08:35
SPEAKER_00: Chargers probably win, but I think the Giants cover their number.
1:08:38
SPEAKER_00: It's at six and a half, buy it up to seven and a half just in case.
1:08:42
SPEAKER_00: And Jets, Dolphins, Monday Night Football, two 0-3 teams, both in crisis.
1:08:49
SPEAKER_00: If Fields clears, uh, I like Jets plus two and a half, maybe a little sprinkle on the money line.
1:08:55
SPEAKER_00: If not, I'll probably still lean Jets plus two and a half just because it's a rock fight and who knows.
1:09:02
SPEAKER_00: But either way, we track the record, we track the numbers, we keep ourselves accountable.
1:09:08
SPEAKER_00: It's important for you to keep yourself accountable.
1:09:12
SPEAKER_00: Bet with your head, not above it.
1:09:14
SPEAKER_00: Bet responsibly.
1:09:16
SPEAKER_00: Don't be afraid to call a number if you have to.
1:09:19
SPEAKER_00: You know, the whole works.
1:09:21
SPEAKER_00: Don't be an asshole.
1:09:22
SPEAKER_00: Don't bet rent money on the fucking Jets.
1:09:26
SPEAKER_00: The Jets never cover.
1:09:28
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
1:09:29
SPEAKER_00: So that's fantasy.
1:09:32
SPEAKER_00: That's gambling.
1:09:33
SPEAKER_00: Now we close out the show with you.
1:09:36
SPEAKER_00: The people, the fans of the show, the guys and girls that I like to hear from.
1:09:42
SPEAKER_00: The mailbag.
1:09:43
SPEAKER_00: It's that time.
1:09:45
SPEAKER_00: First up on the mailbag, we have a recurring guest, actually.
1:09:49
SPEAKER_00: We have Brad and Kenneworth.
1:09:51
SPEAKER_00: He writes in, he said, it's time for people to start recognizing that golf is elite, and it's time to also respect Amon Ra as a number one wide receiver.
1:10:02
SPEAKER_00: Well, I uh I don't know about golf being elite.
1:10:06
SPEAKER_00: I mean, this falls into the Joe Flacco is elite category.
1:10:10
SPEAKER_00: I mean, golf is a very good good, not great, very, very good quarterback.
1:10:22
SPEAKER_00: But elite, I wouldn't say elite.
1:10:25
SPEAKER_00: Now, Amon Ra, Amon Ra is elite.
1:10:28
SPEAKER_00: I think Goff gets a great boost because he has a he has a coach that was a blocking tight end almost where as like you know good catchers aren't good managers in baseball, but backup catchers are really good managers in baseball.
1:10:45
SPEAKER_00: He's not, you know, Tony Gonzalez isn't gonna be a good coach, but Dan Quinn, a backup tight end or a blocking tight end, is a good coach.
1:10:57
SPEAKER_00: He's just feisty enough, and he has that O-line eating, that D-line eating, that fuck you get out of my way mentality with Gibbs, with Montgomery, with Amun Ra, with uh oh god, what's the other receiver?
1:11:16
SPEAKER_00: Uh Williams uh the speedster that they have, Williams.
1:11:22
SPEAKER_00: That's a lot of talent around golf.
1:11:25
SPEAKER_00: So Goff's not elite, but he's very, very good.
1:11:30
SPEAKER_00: He's good enough to make that throw on fucking fourth and two down to seam, I'll tell you that.
1:11:35
SPEAKER_00: Alright, next up we have Cluce in Jersey.
1:11:41
SPEAKER_00: And he touches on the Vikings.
1:11:43
SPEAKER_00: He says, is this Jordan Addison's coming out party?
1:11:46
SPEAKER_00: Because he's off of suspension.
1:11:49
SPEAKER_00: Well, life's gonna get a lot easier for JJ McCarthy having Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
1:11:57
SPEAKER_00: The listen, Jordan, uh Justin, listen, Justin Jefferson is a stud, but he can only do so much.
1:12:07
SPEAKER_00: He needs the other guy across from him, right?
1:12:09
SPEAKER_00: With Jordan Addison back now, it's uh I would expect JJ to have a big game.
1:12:16
SPEAKER_00: Uh next up we have Lawrence in Palm Beach.
1:12:21
SPEAKER_00: He says, give me your three-week NFL summary.
1:12:27
SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, uh Packers offense looks good.
1:12:32
SPEAKER_00: Uh Cowboys defense looks god-awful.
1:12:36
SPEAKER_00: The Chargers are 3-0 with two division wins in their pocket, but lost Najee, so we'll see how it goes.
1:12:46
SPEAKER_00: Uh quarterback troubles all around between Brock Purdy and Jackson Dart and Justin Fields and Jaden Daniels.
1:12:57
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's always a mess.
1:13:00
SPEAKER_00: Uh league-wide, explosive plays are doing pretty well, and the trenches also are doing pretty well.
1:13:09
SPEAKER_00: That's how you build a team, right?
1:13:10
SPEAKER_00: From the inside out, you build it from the trenches, D-line, O-line.
1:13:14
SPEAKER_00: Uh offenses seem to be doing well, which is what the NFL wants.
1:13:21
SPEAKER_00: You haven't really seen too many defensive games.
1:13:25
SPEAKER_00: So last three weeks in the first three weeks in the NFL, chaos.
1:13:32
SPEAKER_00: Next three weeks in the NFL, also chaos.
1:13:38
SPEAKER_00: And lastly, we have a voicemail clip here.
1:13:44
SPEAKER_00: Someone called into the show.
1:13:45
SPEAKER_00: That's right.
1:13:46
SPEAKER_00: You can call in.
1:13:47
SPEAKER_00: If you call in and leave a voicemail, you're more than likely to get on the mailbag.
1:13:53
SPEAKER_00: Because I will put your voice on the show and we'll answer to it.
1:14:00
SPEAKER_00: So let's hear what he's gotta say.
1:14:02
SPEAKER_01: Ricy.
1:14:04
SPEAKER_01: You know, this is about to get spicy.
1:14:07
SPEAKER_01: So we'll watch McLean right now.
1:14:09
SPEAKER_01: He's through four.
1:14:10
SPEAKER_01: One run, that's around six one.
1:14:13
SPEAKER_01: Apparently, if he goes seven and third, he loses rookie eligibility.
1:14:24
SPEAKER_01: You let him go.
1:14:27
SPEAKER_01: Does it depend on the score?
1:14:29
SPEAKER_01: What if it's six one in the eighth?
1:14:32
SPEAKER_01: Interesting to see where this goes.
1:14:34
SPEAKER_01: Let me know.
1:14:37
SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
1:14:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's uh well, that's one interesting take on the Mets.
1:14:45
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, the Mets shouldn't be worried about their uh rookie designations or anything along that timeline.
1:14:54
SPEAKER_00: Steve Cohen, when he bought the team, said uh in the next five years I want a championship and I want sustainability and I want a good farm system and promised to fan base the whole works.
1:15:06
SPEAKER_00: And well, now they have a good farm system, and they have the richest player in the game who is living up to that contract, and they're fighting for the last wildcard spot by a half a game.
1:15:22
SPEAKER_00: So as far as rookie eligibility or you know, service contract time rent, who gives a fuck?
1:15:31
SPEAKER_00: Fuck that.
1:15:32
SPEAKER_00: No one who no one cares.
1:15:35
SPEAKER_00: Stop.
1:15:36
SPEAKER_00: Go win.
1:15:37
SPEAKER_00: Go win.
1:15:38
SPEAKER_00: Please.
1:15:40
SPEAKER_00: 1986, man.
1:15:42
SPEAKER_00: I saw you in 2015 and you blew it.
1:15:45
SPEAKER_00: 1986 is the last Mets championship.
1:15:49
SPEAKER_00: I'm dying to get a Mets tattoo on me when they win a championship.
1:15:56
SPEAKER_00: They shouldn't care about rookie designation or anything like that.
1:16:01
SPEAKER_00: Go get the best players and go bring a title home.
1:16:05
SPEAKER_00: Go raise a banner.
1:16:07
SPEAKER_00: Please.
1:16:07
SPEAKER_00: I'm begging you.
1:16:09
SPEAKER_00: We're all begging you.
1:16:10
SPEAKER_00: Every Met fan is dying.
1:16:12
SPEAKER_00: We're we're we're in the desert with drops of water in front of us, crawling to the oasis.
1:16:19
SPEAKER_00: We can see the promised land in front of us.
1:16:22
SPEAKER_00: But we're not quite there.
1:16:24
SPEAKER_00: We're dying for it.
1:16:26
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
1:16:27
SPEAKER_00: That's the mailbag.
1:16:30
SPEAKER_00: Hope I answered all your questions how you wanted your answer.
1:16:33
