- 0:02Speaker 1: In the basement. If your hair is blonde, it might
- 0:06Speaker 1: get tugged on ew and I was like, oooh, thank goodness,
- 0:10Speaker 1: I'd dyed my hair. They think there's a spirit of
- 0:14Speaker 1: a little boy down there, which again is kind of
- 0:18Speaker 1: creepier than the attic, that there's just like one spirit
- 0:21Speaker 1: of a little boy in the basement.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess this. He'd not get along with the
- 0:26Speaker 2: other kids, like he's in exiled to the basement.
- 0:30Speaker 1: He was shot.
- 0:30Speaker 2: They're all up in the attic and they sent his
- 0:32Speaker 2: ass all the way down to the basement.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Well maybe because he'd be the white hair. Hi Caitlin,
- 0:39Speaker 1: Hi Cassie. Hi creepy people, helly you. This is PNW
- 0:46Speaker 1: Hanson Homicides, where we chat about true crime, the paranormal,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and all things spooky in the Pacific Northwest.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Or the PNW if you're nicety, and.
- 1:00Speaker 1: We also do a nasty little tarot reading at the
- 1:02Speaker 1: end of our episode for some nasty insight into our topic.
- 1:08Speaker 2: It just got so nasty up in here.
- 1:11Speaker 1: That's that's I mean, that's how it's been, that's how
- 1:14Speaker 1: it will be. All right, then, that's what I feel.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Okay, Doka, I wasn't aware it was going to be
- 1:22Speaker 2: quite so nasty.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I mean, did you look at me today? Obviously it's
- 1:27Speaker 1: gonna happ well. Do you want to know where we're
- 1:31Speaker 1: going today? Yeah, we're going to Port Gamble, Washington.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Port Gamble. Yes, I'm trying to think if I've even
- 1:43Speaker 2: heard of it.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I feel like I had heard of it, but it
- 1:47Speaker 1: could have just been through all my ghosty research. I'm
- 1:50Speaker 1: not really sure.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I mean that's fair.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Port Gamble was founded in eighteen fifty one because of
- 1:58Speaker 1: the Puget Sound Milk Company. Oh, it's about thirty miles
- 2:04Speaker 1: northwest of Seattle. Although you do have to take a
- 2:07Speaker 1: ferry unless you want to like go eighty five miles
- 2:11Speaker 1: and like go down and around and up.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not really about that life actually, unless you're
- 2:19Speaker 2: coming from like Portland, which you know, you're just going
- 2:22Speaker 2: up so you wouldn't have to do the roundabout. But
- 2:25Speaker 2: I guess if you don't want to take the ferry,
- 2:28Speaker 2: which I feel like would be kind of fun.
- 2:30Speaker 1: But I've never taken a fairy. You haven't, No, I
- 2:35Speaker 1: feel like I would be terrified.
- 2:38Speaker 2: No, actually I think it's pretty cool. I've taken it
- 2:41Speaker 2: up to Orchest Island. From Anti Chordis several times. I
- 2:47Speaker 2: think that's the only ferry that I've been on. But
- 2:50Speaker 2: it's cool.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I just said, I was like, it sounds fun. I
- 2:54Speaker 1: would be terrified.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, listen, two things can be true. You can
- 3:01Speaker 2: have complicated emotions about a lot of things.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's just weird that you drive your
- 3:07Speaker 1: car onto a boat.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yes, I was just going to say, I feel like
- 3:11Speaker 2: it makes sense because driving onto a boat feels not
- 3:18Speaker 2: quite right. Yeah, there's something that's a little anxiety inducing
- 3:22Speaker 2: about that.
- 3:25Speaker 1: They just need to make all cars with the water
- 3:27Speaker 1: cars where you can just drive in water. I've been
- 3:32Speaker 1: in one of those. Have you been in one?
- 3:34Speaker 2: No?
- 3:35Speaker 1: It was like where were we Orlando, in Florida, Disney World.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Well, that feels like a very Florida thing. Yeah, it
- 3:45Speaker 2: was fun.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I mean it was basically like it just felt like
- 3:48Speaker 1: you were in a boat, but it was a car.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Weird. I mean, I'm open to it. Maybe.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fun in the warm weather, you know, the
- 4:02Speaker 1: top down, gotta of the top down.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I don't know how I feel about that.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like being enclosed and in
- 4:09Speaker 1: the water. I feel like we're going on a lot
- 4:11Speaker 1: about this car water thing, but you deal with it. Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Well, honestly, that's exactly what I was thinking. I'm like, oh,
- 4:19Speaker 2: I don't know how I feel about having the top down,
- 4:21Speaker 2: And then as you started to say, oh, but being
- 4:25Speaker 2: fully unclosed, that was the exact next thought that I had, like, Oh, actually,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I don't know, being fully enclosed maybe doesn't sound great either.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Actually that's kind.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Of why I just felt like you're in a motor boat,
- 4:37Speaker 1: because like, yeah, no top in the water. Yeah, that
- 4:42Speaker 1: makes sense, but a lot smaller anyway, Yeah, let's move along. Yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 1: because this episode, believe it or not, is not about
- 4:51Speaker 1: water cars.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Oh well that okay, I mean, I listen. I'm sure
- 4:58Speaker 2: whatever topic you've picked is right, but I am a
- 5:01Speaker 2: little bit disappointed that we're not gonna keep going down
- 5:04Speaker 2: this road.
- 5:05Speaker 1: This water road, haunted water car oho.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay, well, keep looking.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I'll get right on that. I'm going to read a
- 5:16Speaker 1: quote from the Port Gamble website just so you get
- 5:19Speaker 1: a little feel for the vibe. Port Gamble is on
- 5:22Speaker 1: the Kitsap Peninsula, situated on the shores of Scenic Hood Canal.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Explore the one hundred and twenty acre National Historic landmark,
- 5:31Speaker 1: complete with picturesque turn of the century buildings, filled with shops,
- 5:36Speaker 1: a historic church, breathtaking views, expansive grounds, and New England
- 5:41Speaker 1: style houses on maple and elm tree lined streets. Oh wow,
- 5:49Speaker 1: doesn't that sound beautiful? I mean, very picturesque, very idyllic.
- 5:54Speaker 1: This town has what is known as the most haunted
- 5:58Speaker 1: house in Washington. Oh boy, the walker Ames House. It's
- 6:06Speaker 1: a Queen Anne style home built between eighteen eighty eight
- 6:11Speaker 1: and eighteen eighty nine on Rainier Avenue, which I thought
- 6:15Speaker 1: was cute.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that is cute, and you know we love
- 6:19Speaker 2: a Queen Anne obviously.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I know I knew you would love this.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Okay. So really interesting because I'm getting like kind of
- 6:26Speaker 2: two different like pictures. I'm guessing I'm guessing it's like
- 6:31Speaker 2: before and after paint.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oh it could be.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah, like somebody must have restored it to kind of
- 6:41Speaker 2: it's prior glory.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, we'll kind of talk about that later too.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So it's really cute. It's got like stained glass windows,
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's got very like the poles. I don't know how
- 6:56Speaker 1: to describe it, but the poles are very like bubbly, bubbly.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it has like kind of I think that's
- 7:04Speaker 2: like gingerbread. Yeah, I think that's what they call that.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but very Queen Anne style.
- 7:11Speaker 2: It's interesting because like how it's described when you Google
- 7:16Speaker 2: it is exactly how like I picture it. It's like
- 7:21Speaker 2: spindle work and fretwork. But it says it refers to
- 7:24Speaker 2: the ornate lace like wooden embellishments characteristic of Victorian era architecture.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And she is beautiful.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yes. The original home oh oh, though, although not as fancy,
- 7:39Speaker 1: actually burned down in eighteen eighty five. Oh no, I know.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And this new home actually faces the bay instead of
- 7:48Speaker 1: the street, which is pretty unique. I mean that's what
- 7:52Speaker 1: I would want, right, I know. But it was for
- 7:55Speaker 1: the purposes of welcoming in the ships.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Oh okay, So this house like had some sort of
- 8:03Speaker 2: like official.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Capacity, uh kind of, we're about to talk about it, Okay.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So William Walker lived there with his wife Emma daughter
- 8:12Speaker 1: mad which I freaking love that name, mod and her husband,
- 8:19Speaker 1: Edwin Ames. Walker was the master mechanic for the nearby
- 8:23Speaker 1: sawmill on Gamble Bay. So that's the big saw mill
- 8:26Speaker 1: that was built, which is why the town is there. Okay.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Ames was the resident manager and then the general manager
- 8:34Speaker 1: until nineteen thirty one. So it's kind of like a
- 8:38Speaker 1: head head of the sawmills house basically.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Okay, okay, that makes sense. I feel like that used
- 8:45Speaker 2: to be a really common thing. I mean you still
- 8:48Speaker 2: see that, I guess with like the military or you know, it's.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Very it seems very like military because they have other
- 8:54Speaker 1: houses too that are that were built for like the
- 8:57Speaker 1: managers and stuff.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's built like specifically so that they can grow
- 9:02Speaker 2: up this area around the industry.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and all the heads have nice places to live,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and then there's also other places for like the just
- 9:14Speaker 1: general workers to live maybe not so nice, but.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Little tiny houses.
- 9:21Speaker 1: The home was occupied by other mill managers and their
- 9:24Speaker 1: families until the mill closed in nineteen ninety five, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: at the time of its closing, it was the longest
- 9:31Speaker 1: continually operating mill in the US.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Wow, I was gonna say, that's like way more recent
- 9:38Speaker 2: than I would have pictured, you know, nineteen ninety five,
- 9:41Speaker 2: that's I mean, we're too young to even the nineties.
- 9:49Speaker 1: But wow, wasn't even born yet.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Just oh yes, just the fadust.
- 9:56Speaker 1: After that, the home was abandoned and it is still
- 10:00Speaker 1: unoccupied to this day.
- 10:02Speaker 2: No way. Yeah yeah, yeah, So is this where we
- 10:11Speaker 2: announced like the gofund me to help us buy it
- 10:14Speaker 2: or I don't know.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I'm not really sure the deal with it. So okay,
- 10:20Speaker 1: because obviously the outside is very pretty, but I watched
- 10:24Speaker 1: a video that shows the inside and it was only
- 10:26Speaker 1: from last year, and boy does it look abandoned. Like
- 10:32Speaker 1: there's all inferns growing in the basement. Really looks like
- 10:37Speaker 1: nature is just like invading.
- 10:40Speaker 2: She's been reclaimed.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and the wallpaper is all like ripped off and weird.
- 10:46Speaker 1: It's just it's not restored inside whatsoever. From the video
- 10:50Speaker 1: I saw that was dated from last year, so I
- 10:53Speaker 1: don't know if anything's happened in the meantime. I'm not
- 10:56Speaker 1: really sure. Port Gamble was declared a rural historic to
- 11:00Speaker 1: so kind of like the quote from the beginning, and
- 11:02Speaker 1: a lot of the buildings have been restored and preserved,
- 11:06Speaker 1: although the walker Ames House does not seem to have
- 11:09Speaker 1: been restored in the inside, but the outside has. So
- 11:13Speaker 1: I was wondering maybe they started with the outside and
- 11:16Speaker 1: they're going to get to the inside, or maybe they
- 11:19Speaker 1: kept the inside spooky looking for ghost tours, like for
- 11:25Speaker 1: a purpose. And yes, they do ghost investigation tours there,
- 11:33Speaker 1: Like you can book one. It's like a three hour tour.
- 11:36Speaker 1: What it's ran by paranormal Pete? Stop it, I know,
- 11:41Speaker 1: like the best name, good thing. His name was Pete,
- 11:44Speaker 1: you know, because like what else did he call himself? No,
- 11:48Speaker 1: you got to have that alliteration, right. There's a lot
- 11:52Speaker 1: of reported paranormal activity in the home. A woman is
- 11:56Speaker 1: seen upstairs in the windows wearing a long dress.
- 12:02Speaker 2: What color is it?
- 12:03Speaker 1: I knew you're gonna ask. They don't say if it's
- 12:06Speaker 1: whiteh So I was like, maybe there's no lady in
- 12:10Speaker 1: white here. We'll see, we'll see what comes from.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Well, all right, I mean I'm just saying white is
- 12:16Speaker 2: already such an impractical choice. I feel like, even in
- 12:21Speaker 2: this modern day, we don't have like horses and buggies
- 12:25Speaker 2: driving through the streets and everything. Yeah, like olden times.
- 12:29Speaker 2: But I'm like, I I wear white with so much
- 12:34Speaker 2: caution and I can't even imagine how hard it was
- 12:37Speaker 2: to keep a white dress clean back then. So to me,
- 12:41Speaker 2: if there's a lady standing in the window wearing a
- 12:44Speaker 2: white dress, I'm like, ghosts, it must be a go Yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 2: there's no way she has been wearing that all day
- 12:54Speaker 2: and she hasn't splashed something.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I was. I watch a lot of like YouTube go
- 13:00Speaker 1: videos or whatever, and I heard just yesterday when I
- 13:03Speaker 1: was watching one that they said, like ladies in white
- 13:07Speaker 1: present themselves that way because they they died in like
- 13:10Speaker 1: a tragic way or something. Yeah, I don't know why
- 13:15Speaker 1: specifically they would present in white. I always think of
- 13:19Speaker 1: like a lady in a nightgown because I don't know
- 13:21Speaker 1: why I think of like nightgowns as white.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it makes sense. I totally get that.
- 13:29Speaker 2: That visual makes sense to me too. I don't know.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I mean there's a lot of symbolism with colors, for sure.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And obviously, you know there's the there's the big one, right,
- 13:44Speaker 2: you know, like ghosts historically look like a white sheet.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that is true. That is true.
- 13:50Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But they don't specifically say here that this lady is
- 13:56Speaker 1: wearing white, so we don't know. Lights have been seen
- 14:00Speaker 1: turning on and off when the home is empty. Cameras
- 14:04Speaker 1: have malfunctioned, not cameras like their house security cameras, but
- 14:09Speaker 1: like people right to use cameras, people touring or inside
- 14:13Speaker 1: you okay, Yeah, people feel significant cold spots or have
- 14:18Speaker 1: smelled a floral scent in one area of the stairs
- 14:21Speaker 1: and nowhere else.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Interesting because I thought all of the plant growth was
- 14:26Speaker 2: down in the basement.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Right, well, it didn't look like flowers.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm curious, is this a place that actually still has
- 14:35Speaker 2: working electricity because it's like the lightning that. I guess
- 14:40Speaker 2: it must, right because people are saying that they're seeing
- 14:42Speaker 2: lights going on and off.
- 14:43Speaker 1: But well, that would be even weirder if it didn't
- 14:46Speaker 1: have electrocity.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Right, that would be also, uh, further evidence of something hanky,
- 14:53Speaker 2: as uh the Scooby Doo gang might say, but.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I'm not one hundred percent sure. But they do go
- 15:00Speaker 1: investigations there, so I assume that they would have to
- 15:02Speaker 1: have some power, maybe for cameras and things.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I had to check myself because I was like, wait,
- 15:09Speaker 2: am I remembering that the Scooby Doo get. I know,
- 15:13Speaker 2: they said a lot of silly things, but I was like,
- 15:15Speaker 2: do they say hinky a lot? And I guess not really?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Jink jinkies jink.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Jinky's That's probably what I'm thinking of and zoinks.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Footsteps have been heard coming from the attic as
- 15:34Speaker 1: well as children's voices and toys tend to move around
- 15:39Speaker 1: up there.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Listen the toy thing in and of itself, that could
- 15:43Speaker 2: be sort of a like toy story type thing. And yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 2: I think most people would find that like, oh, how cute,
- 15:50Speaker 2: how charming and uh And obviously I have very different
- 15:54Speaker 2: thoughts and feelings about that given my history with dolls.
- 16:01Speaker 2: But as per usual, never okay, never okay to be
- 16:07Speaker 2: hearing uh, other worldly children's voices, little voices. That remains
- 16:13Speaker 2: one of I think my biggest bugaboos. It's like that
- 16:17Speaker 2: and cannibalism. Just I can't and they are they are
- 16:23Speaker 2: really neck and neck like that may surprise some people.
- 16:28Speaker 2: They freak me out in different but equal ways.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Well, you're gonna love this next part because people see
- 16:36Speaker 1: children looking out of the attic windows.
- 16:39Speaker 2: No in it. Why the attic too, I don't know.
- 16:46Speaker 1: No. I watched a video where paranormal re Pete was
- 16:50Speaker 1: like on a news he did, like a news segment.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It was really cute and he was saying that the
- 16:55Speaker 1: kids like were often sent to the attict to play
- 16:57Speaker 1: while guests were over. So maybe there's just some like
- 17:01Speaker 1: that was their favorite place and they come back to
- 17:04Speaker 1: it or it's just like residual I don't know. Oh okay, yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: because there's a lot of I don't know in the paranormal.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's and that's fair. I just have
- 17:16Speaker 2: so many questions. Whether or not they can be answered,
- 17:18Speaker 2: I think remains to be seen, ye ask away.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Though. There is a basement as well. We talked about it,
- 17:26Speaker 1: the overgrown basement. In the basement, if your hair is blonde,
- 17:31Speaker 1: it might get tugged on ew And I was like, oh,
- 17:35Speaker 1: thank goodness, I dyed my hair.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I know I'm back to my natural color. So I'm uh,
- 17:43Speaker 2: I think I'm safe.
- 17:44Speaker 1: We might be safe just from the hair pulling.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, that's good.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I guess they think there's a spirit of a little
- 17:53Speaker 1: boy down there, which again is kind of creepier than
- 17:57Speaker 1: the attic, that there's just like one spirit of a
- 17:59Speaker 1: little boy in the basement.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess does he not get along with the
- 18:05Speaker 2: other kids, like he's in exile to the basement.
- 18:08Speaker 1: He was shot.
- 18:09Speaker 2: They're all up in the attic and they set his
- 18:11Speaker 2: ass all the way down to the basement. Well maybe
- 18:13Speaker 2: because he'd be playing I will and you know, what
- 18:17Speaker 2: it in that light, I think maybe that seems fair.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Actually there's kind of some other things too about the
- 18:24Speaker 1: basement that we'll get to and not right now but
- 18:28Speaker 1: in a little bit. Okay, So I did read a
- 18:31Speaker 1: lot of spooky things happened during the ghost tours, so
- 18:35Speaker 1: if you book one, your chances are pretty good that
- 18:38Speaker 1: something might actually happen. So one time Pete and his
- 18:43Speaker 1: whole tour group saw a woman disappear right before their eyes.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Okay, that I don't I don't love it, but that
- 18:53Speaker 2: doesn't really get me in a particular Like, ah, I
- 18:57Speaker 2: do have both of my feet up in my chair
- 19:00Speaker 2: already though, So.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I'm not sure that you'd want to go to this
- 19:03Speaker 1: one because there I keep saying it, there's other stuff.
- 19:06Speaker 1: There's a lot of other stuff that I just feel like,
- 19:08Speaker 1: isn't it's not gonna persuade Caitlin to come at all? Whatsoever?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Maybe look at the outside.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, actually I'm not getting out of the car.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Just do a drive by, right, So it was interesting.
- 19:25Speaker 1: He said that he was like shining his flashlight around
- 19:29Speaker 1: and he heard something and then like turned around and
- 19:32Speaker 1: the flashlight like hit the woman, and everyone like gasped.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Okay, and well when you put it like that, that's
- 19:40Speaker 2: like kind of horror movie.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't sound like a horror movie. But like
- 19:44Speaker 1: when everyone gasped, she disappeared. So she's like, oh shit,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was caught. Gotta go.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Yeah, she's like self conscious. I guess maybe.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Maybe she was naked. She's like, I don't look at me.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I'm in my house, I'm walking around nude. What are
- 20:03Speaker 1: you guys doing here?
- 20:04Speaker 2: H In the Victorian era, nobody was nude, right, It
- 20:08Speaker 2: was like a whole generation of never nude.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Depressing.
- 20:16Speaker 2: I know, have you seen the swimsuits from that back
- 20:18Speaker 2: in that day?
- 20:19Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, I kind of want one though. I
- 20:22Speaker 1: kind of want that to come back around, just so
- 20:24Speaker 1: I can be covered up.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And it's fine, right, You're like, yes, yes, yes, all
- 20:31Speaker 2: bodies are beach bodies, especially when I can dress like
- 20:36Speaker 2: a Victorian child. Yeah, I'm with you.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Photos of human figures have been caught and are actually
- 20:43Speaker 1: on Pete's website. You can look at them. One is
- 20:47Speaker 1: of a man in the window taken from outside. I
- 20:50Speaker 1: think it's a man. It's like a man looking figure.
- 20:53Speaker 1: He kind of looks like he's in a suit or something.
- 20:55Speaker 1: But it's very shape shadowy.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Okay, I was gonna say. I mean, even from a stillet,
- 21:00Speaker 2: sometimes you can tell just based on like height or
- 21:05Speaker 2: you know, kind of other yeah, I don't know, discernible figures.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And the other one looks like someone kind of peeking
- 21:12Speaker 1: around the corner in a hallway.
- 21:14Speaker 2: No, oh no, do you want.
- 21:19Speaker 1: To see them? Should I send them to you? I
- 21:21Speaker 1: mean yeah, probably, And they do circle it in the photos,
- 21:26Speaker 1: which is nice because I'm like, what am I looking
- 21:27Speaker 1: at here? But then you see them. Oh god, that
- 21:31Speaker 1: first one, the peaking one, that's so creepy. Yeah, oh god.
- 21:38Speaker 2: And the second one, truth be told, is not much better.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That definitely looks like an older man in a suit.
- 21:45Speaker 1: And I know, I feel like they kind of look
- 21:49Speaker 1: like the same figure almost a little bit.
- 21:54Speaker 2: There's part of me that wants to just be like
- 21:57Speaker 2: the consummate skeptic and be like, Okay, so they just
- 22:02Speaker 2: had a tour come through, and they, you know, captured
- 22:06Speaker 2: a photo of this same guy from inside and outside.
- 22:11Speaker 2: But why would a tour group be like standing alone
- 22:15Speaker 2: in like the dark.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Yeah, And I feel like Pete would. Pete's probably a
- 22:20Speaker 1: cool guy. He probably would know, like, there's no one
- 22:23Speaker 1: in the house, right, And these were captured. I don't
- 22:27Speaker 1: know if they were on the same tour or not,
- 22:30Speaker 1: but they were from two different people.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's true.
- 22:34Speaker 1: One says the date in the other.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Room and one doesn't.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Interesting, this looks like it's kind of in like adjacent
- 22:46Speaker 2: parts of a house though, because you can see this
- 22:48Speaker 2: mirrored fireplace mantle. I think that's what it looks like
- 22:54Speaker 2: it is. You can see it in both of the pictures.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Oh oh, did you notice that?
- 23:00Speaker 2: So it's like if it's a ghost, it's somebody that
- 23:03Speaker 2: like obviously is kind of like that's his area, you know,
- 23:10Speaker 2: like he's just trying to go into the palla or
- 23:15Speaker 2: you know whatever.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I didn't notice that.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I know I didn't at first either. I was like, Oh,
- 23:21Speaker 2: this is so cool. There's so much ornate wouldwork in
- 23:25Speaker 2: this house. And then as I'm like looking at it,
- 23:27Speaker 2: I was like, wait, that's the same piece. I'm pretty sure.
- 23:32Speaker 2: So the first one he's like down in the hallway
- 23:34Speaker 2: peeking around the corner, and then the other one he
- 23:38Speaker 2: it looks like is either in that you know, he's
- 23:42Speaker 2: come into the room and he's like near a window
- 23:46Speaker 2: on the opposite side of the room, or he's in
- 23:50Speaker 2: an adjacent room.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Oh, and the lights are on from the second photo,
- 23:55Speaker 1: so that kind of sort of answers your question of
- 23:59Speaker 1: if there's power there. It wasn't in twenty thirteen.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so you know we're figuring some things out.
- 24:07Speaker 1: There are many EVP recordings on Pete's website as well,
- 24:13Speaker 1: and his sibling actually wrote a blog about their experience
- 24:16Speaker 1: catching an EVP and a little bit more in the
- 24:20Speaker 1: primary bathroom of the house.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So they were asking questions out loud, doing in the recorder,
- 24:28Speaker 1: trying to get answers from spirits as why people do
- 24:32Speaker 1: that in case like it catches something you don't hear
- 24:36Speaker 1: with your your normal human ears.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you're lay mass human ears.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And then as they were asking questions, they started to
- 24:48Speaker 1: see a shimmering in front of them, describing it quote
- 24:53Speaker 1: as if the area in front of me were being twisted.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Okay, well, like shimmer I'm down with that. That sounds good.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Like that sounds pretty. That sounds kind of like ethereal twisting.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Gives me a little bit of pause. I don't I
- 25:13Speaker 2: don't know about that.
- 25:15Speaker 1: It's creepy. And then it formed into a blurry woman
- 25:20Speaker 1: and they couldn't make out any features because it was
- 25:23Speaker 1: so blurry. But she seemed to be wearing a white
- 25:28Speaker 1: dress or had a white apron on over her dress.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Know it. Oh, here's our.
- 25:34Speaker 2: White lady, Oh lady and white.
- 25:38Speaker 1: But again I always say, since like, this wasn't a
- 25:42Speaker 1: fully formed figure. It was kind of blurry, maybe see through, shimmery, twisty.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Maybe you just can't see the colors. So it's like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: you know, maybe it's not actually a white dress, but
- 25:54Speaker 1: you just can't. I don't know. It's like in black
- 25:55Speaker 1: and white, you know.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I mean, I see what you're saying, but I'm hardcore.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I'm teen lady and wife like that. I think that's
- 26:07Speaker 2: what they saw.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And well, you got it. I delivered. You're welcome. Yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 1: and then what do you think this lady in white
- 26:15Speaker 1: did give you one? Guess?
- 26:18Speaker 2: Did she cry? No?
- 26:19Speaker 1: She disappeared. Oh So it's again it's interesting because it's
- 26:25Speaker 1: like her brother Pete's experience with the tour group, like
- 26:27Speaker 1: the women just get seen and then they just disappear.
- 26:32Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 26:33Speaker 1: So I don't know if it was the same woman.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Or not.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but I feel like that's kind of those are
- 26:39Speaker 2: the two things that they do, right, right, ghost be
- 26:42Speaker 2: doing that crying and or disappearing. Yeah, that's kind of
- 26:47Speaker 2: their thing, like just evaporate.
- 26:50Speaker 1: She could have been crying. Maybe that's why she was
- 26:52Speaker 1: all blurry. Oh, I guess that wouldn't make sense, Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 1: because they would have to be crying. Maybe she was
- 26:59Speaker 1: projecting her view of herself as she was crying, like
- 27:04Speaker 1: seeing herself cry all Lorrie, I don't know. That didn't
- 27:07Speaker 1: make any sense.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Well, I mean if you believe that, you know, any
- 27:13Speaker 2: paranormal entities have an ability to like influence us in
- 27:18Speaker 2: any way. Sometimes people say they can affect like what
- 27:22Speaker 2: you see or hear or you know, different sensory experiences,
- 27:27Speaker 2: Like I don't, I don't know. That doesn't even sound
- 27:30Speaker 2: that wild to me. You're already seeing a ghost, Okay,
- 27:33Speaker 2: it just doesn't feel like that much of a leap.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I guess that's true.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 1: So later when they were reviewing the recording from that
- 27:43Speaker 1: incident in the bathroom, they heard quiet chanting that became louder,
- 27:49Speaker 1: but they couldn't make out what it was saying. Chanting chanting. Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I don't care for that. That always gives me like
- 27:59Speaker 1: cultye vi, Right, So I don't know if it was
- 28:04Speaker 1: maybe it was singing and not chanting, I don't really know.
- 28:07Speaker 1: They described it as chanting, yeah, and then they found
- 28:11Speaker 1: the exact same sounds of chanting on someone else's recording
- 28:16Speaker 1: from that day in the same bathroom.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Eh okay, So yeah, I feel like their characterization of
- 28:24Speaker 2: it is like that's probably accurate, right because they have
- 28:28Speaker 2: two separate recordings, so it's not just them like not
- 28:32Speaker 2: having enough evidence to be able to like adequately identify
- 28:37Speaker 2: like what's happening. Yeah, Like we have two separate recordings,
- 28:40Speaker 2: and this is what we're hearing.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Yeah, because if you know what singing is, if it
- 28:45Speaker 1: was singing, you would have said singing. So yeah, chanting.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Exactly creep, So definitely chanting.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I feel like, oh, I don't know why other paranormal
- 28:56Speaker 1: groups have investigated there as well. The Tacoma Paranormal Society
- 29:01Speaker 1: reported having doors that were popped open with weights being
- 29:05Speaker 1: slammed shut. Yeah, and some furniture moved around upstairs and
- 29:12Speaker 1: someone experienced extreme dizziness and nausea, which I was.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Like, it's a Caitlin Oh, my god.
- 29:21Speaker 1: So this is like one of the other reasons. I
- 29:23Speaker 1: was like, Oh, maybe she shouldn't go here.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Maybe maybe don't maybe we don't visit. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 29:32Speaker 2: I think maybe I would have to see what the
- 29:34Speaker 2: vibe feels like from the outside.
- 29:38Speaker 1: We'll see. I want to go obviously.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Uh yeah.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Paranormal PTE invite us the Puget Sound Ghost Hunters and
- 29:48Speaker 1: the Advanced Ghost Hunters of Seattle, Tacoma. Which is a
- 29:53Speaker 1: ghost it's acronyms, I love it. But they did a
- 29:58Speaker 1: collab investigation in there, and they found the attic door
- 30:03Speaker 1: to be open at one point after it had been
- 30:06Speaker 1: closed and locked up, like it was confirmed locked and closed.
- 30:10Speaker 1: They couldn't open it. Oh, and only one person had
- 30:13Speaker 1: the key, and they all knew that one person like
- 30:17Speaker 1: didn't go open the door. So it was just like, hey,
- 30:21Speaker 1: come up here, see what's going on. It was the
- 30:24Speaker 1: kids they want like come up and play. Oh, that's spooky.
- 30:30Speaker 1: And later they found something else was mysteriously opened a
- 30:34Speaker 1: door under the stairs. Oh it looked to be like
- 30:39Speaker 1: a storage space that the handle to the door was
- 30:42Speaker 1: on the inside.
- 30:44Speaker 2: No, thank you sir, right, what which.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Is like that's pretty creepy. I don't know if maybe
- 30:50Speaker 1: there used to be a handle on the outside too,
- 30:52Speaker 1: and it just wasn't there anymore.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be a handle
- 30:57Speaker 2: on the outside. Like, how were you supposed to use
- 30:59Speaker 2: it storage effectively if you can't open it door?
- 31:03Speaker 1: Right?
- 31:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Which is the thing? Is they so they closed it
- 31:09Speaker 1: and then they couldn't figure out how to open it again,
- 31:11Speaker 1: so like, how did it get open?
- 31:13Speaker 2: Great? Oh my god, that's.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Something crawling around in the walls.
- 31:20Speaker 2: No.
- 31:21Speaker 1: No. Someone on the team also said that they were
- 31:25Speaker 1: punched in the back down in the basement.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Oh good lord.
- 31:30Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know, maybe it's that
- 31:32Speaker 1: little boy again. This is like maybe more evidence of
- 31:35Speaker 1: why he got banished to the basement.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Seriously, little punk kid.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And he's like, why didn't you bring me toys? Because
- 31:43Speaker 1: they do leave like toy offerings for him down there.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Oh they didn't have toys, and he was just like me,
- 31:50Speaker 1: where's my toy?
- 31:52Speaker 2: Or I don't know, like maybe here's the thing, not
- 31:56Speaker 2: a parrot, but are we like sort of enabling his
- 32:02Speaker 2: bad behavior by leaving toys down there his offerings?
- 32:06Speaker 1: I don't know, man, maybe or you know, maybe it's
- 32:08Speaker 1: just so he doesn't punch you or pull your hair
- 32:11Speaker 1: or I mean.
- 32:12Speaker 2: For sure, I just don't know if it's a good
- 32:16Speaker 2: idea to reward bad behavior. That's all I'm saying.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Strict on these ghost children, man, they have nothing else, right,
- 32:24Speaker 1: nothing else.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I mean, I guess that's true too, I don't know.
- 32:30Speaker 1: So they've also shot some like films and shows down
- 32:34Speaker 1: there in the basement, and one of the crew actually
- 32:38Speaker 1: got her leg grabbed and they said there was a
- 32:42Speaker 1: handprint on it. No, and so no, I know, and
- 32:46Speaker 1: I was thinking, like handprint like left on the skin,
- 32:50Speaker 1: but another article said that it was like a dusty handprint,
- 32:54Speaker 1: so like maybe on the pants or something. But either way,
- 32:58Speaker 1: like that's creepy.
- 32:59Speaker 2: I hate that, And.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I want to know was it a little handprint, like
- 33:02Speaker 1: a little kid handprint.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I mean, come on, I.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Feel like it had to have been.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Oh I'm going with that, Jesus.
- 33:13Speaker 1: The walker Ames House was featured on the show My
- 33:17Speaker 1: Ghost Story season six, episode six, Darker than the Shadows,
- 33:24Speaker 1: and I didn't watch it, I know. I was like
- 33:28Speaker 1: I had to google it and it took me a
- 33:29Speaker 1: minute to actually like find something that would tell me
- 33:32Speaker 1: what the fucking episode was. It turned out to be
- 33:35Speaker 1: a someone's Facebook post, so I don't know. I couldn't
- 33:39Speaker 1: confirm from the like the summary didn't have any mention
- 33:43Speaker 1: of the house in it, yeah, because it has like
- 33:46Speaker 1: a couple different stories they feature on each episode, so
- 33:50Speaker 1: didn't specifically say. And then it was like two dollars
- 33:53Speaker 1: to watch it, and it was I was like, I
- 33:56Speaker 1: don't have time. I don't want to pay two bucks.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I hadn't want to mine.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I can't confirm if that's the actual episode or not,
- 34:06Speaker 1: but that's what someone who researched it said, which I
- 34:11Speaker 1: do want to watch it. I just didn't quite have
- 34:13Speaker 1: time because it was Yeah, it was like ten this morning,
- 34:17Speaker 1: and I was like, I don't know. I got shited
- 34:19Speaker 1: to doh yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:22Speaker 1: There were quite a few comments on Facebook from people
- 34:25Speaker 1: who actually lived in the house before it was abandoned
- 34:27Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety five. Why yeah, So I'm going to
- 34:31Speaker 1: read you one comment from Jamie Oh. She says, I
- 34:36Speaker 1: grew up in this house. My dad was a mill
- 34:39Speaker 1: write at the sawmill. We lived there from nineteen eighty
- 34:42Speaker 1: to nineteen ninety three, and we're the last family to
- 34:45Speaker 1: live there. My mom kept the place immaculate, so that
- 34:49Speaker 1: kind of is sad that now it's kind of in disrepair. Yeah,
- 34:55Speaker 1: and the house looked very different back then, just more
- 34:59Speaker 1: alive and live. Well, yeah, it's been abandoned, so that
- 35:03Speaker 1: will happen.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that'll happen.
- 35:05Speaker 1: There was an old coffee can beneath the parlor stairs
- 35:08Speaker 1: in a little secret room, So I'm like, is that
- 35:12Speaker 1: must be the door that had been opened on the
- 35:15Speaker 1: other team's investigation. Yeah, because they said it was a
- 35:17Speaker 1: little like storage room under the stairs. Oh my gosh.
- 35:22Speaker 1: So this coffee can, they go on to say it
- 35:25Speaker 1: has letters and trinkets from all the families that lived
- 35:28Speaker 1: there going back to the eighteen hundreds.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Do you think it's still there?
- 35:33Speaker 1: So I think I read in another comment, like her
- 35:36Speaker 1: and the poster were commenting back and forth, and I
- 35:39Speaker 1: think she said that they took the coffee can when
- 35:42Speaker 1: they moved out because they knew they were going to
- 35:43Speaker 1: be the last people who lived there.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that makes sense.
- 35:48Speaker 1: We used to roller skate in the basement on rainy days,
- 35:51Speaker 1: which is so cute.
- 35:54Speaker 2: That's so cute.
- 35:55Speaker 1: The spookiest places in the house weren't the basement in
- 35:58Speaker 1: the attic and the service stairs that go up through
- 36:02Speaker 1: the middle of the house and have an entry on
- 36:04Speaker 1: each floor. Oh, I'm not sure. They didn't go into
- 36:06Speaker 1: why these places were spooky, but they do say there's
- 36:10Speaker 1: some spookiness.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I mean, it's the basement, the attic, and the servants stairs.
- 36:15Speaker 2: I think we all know why they're the spookiest parts
- 36:18Speaker 2: of the house.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Poor Gamble was an amazing place to grow up. I
- 36:24Speaker 1: thought that was really cute.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's super cute. And that doesn't sound like anything
- 36:31Speaker 2: too spooky.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, no. And then I also wanted to note that
- 36:35Speaker 1: there were some other comments from other residents that said
- 36:37Speaker 1: that they lived in the house it wasn't haunted at all. Hmm.
- 36:42Speaker 1: But I'm like, maybe that's because it was like full
- 36:45Speaker 1: of life, like she sat up in the other comment,
- 36:47Speaker 1: and now it's been abandoned and maybe some things came out, yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 1: of the walls.
- 36:55Speaker 2: I mean, I do think sometimes it feels like it
- 36:59Speaker 2: would make sense that someplace, like when there's people living there,
- 37:04Speaker 2: it might not necessarily like the energy is so different
- 37:09Speaker 2: that maybe things don't present themselves, or maybe you just
- 37:13Speaker 2: don't even notice, right, because you're just like living your
- 37:16Speaker 2: life in this.
- 37:17Speaker 1: House exactly, and if there's you know, kids living there,
- 37:21Speaker 1: like oh, who left the slide on? Or like who's
- 37:23Speaker 1: going to notice the toy moved or exactly?
- 37:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, or you know, you could just be one
- 37:29Speaker 2: of those people that's like, I just don't believe in this.
- 37:32Speaker 2: So it's like, I don't know, if you don't believe
- 37:34Speaker 2: in it, you can say all day that it wasn't haunted.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But or you're not going to like feel you're not
- 37:41Speaker 1: sensitive so you can't feel yeah things, or but I
- 37:45Speaker 1: just wanted to point that out.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe you're not a person that goes to a
- 37:51Speaker 2: house and then is on a boat for three days.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Yeah. There are a couple other interesting buildings in town.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Port Gamble's General stores basement. Oh, another basement.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Always the basement, I know.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I mean they're just creepy in general, right, they really are.
- 38:12Speaker 1: But the Port Gamble General Store's basement has the Puget
- 38:15Speaker 1: Sound Hotel Museum. Oh. The actual hotel was constructed in
- 38:21Speaker 1: nineteen oh seven and demolished in nineteen sixty three, so
- 38:25Speaker 1: it's no longer around. Oh, it was damaged during the
- 38:28Speaker 1: Columbus Day storm. Of nineteen sixty two, which we've heard
- 38:32Speaker 1: a few different times in other stories. There was a
- 38:36Speaker 1: really big storm. They had rooms for single saw mill workers.
- 38:41Speaker 1: So that's like another place where workers resided.
- 38:44Speaker 2: It's like goes back to that whole idea that it's
- 38:47Speaker 2: like this town kind of just springs up around this industry.
- 38:53Speaker 2: It's like, you got to have somewhere to house all
- 38:54Speaker 2: these people, right.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Right, And I do like it's a small town. I'm
- 39:00Speaker 1: sure it has like the small town vibes where everyone
- 39:02Speaker 1: knows everybody, but like if the majority of the people
- 39:05Speaker 1: are also working together, like you really everybody knows everybody?
- 39:10Speaker 2: Yeah really, Yeah, that quickly just becomes like I mean,
- 39:17Speaker 2: forgive the pun, but it's like, ooh, the rumor mill
- 39:19Speaker 2: back then. Nice, you know.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I like that. And I'm not sure why. But the
- 39:26Speaker 1: hotel fell outside of the company restrictions on gambling and alcohol.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Oh so super popular.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Oh I can imagine. Wait, so they had restrictions about
- 39:40Speaker 2: gambling and drinking. I don't they even restrict that in
- 39:44Speaker 2: like private homes.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 39:48Speaker 2: I mean, I guess if it's a company home, yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 2: like it's your private residence, but you're a company man
- 39:54Speaker 2: living in a company whom.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm really not sure that's I was just re
- 40:00Speaker 1: about the museum and that's what it said.
- 40:02Speaker 2: But that makes so much sense. Yeah, so it was.
- 40:06Speaker 1: It was a pop in place though, because that's where
- 40:08Speaker 1: everyone wanted to go to gamble and drink.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I bet.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Some paranormal activity is reported at the museum. Voices, footsteps,
- 40:20Speaker 1: sounds of papers wrestling, interesting books opening and closing, and
- 40:26Speaker 1: a shadow figure.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Books opening and closing.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, I don't know they're reading they was.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I guess I just figured, you know what, with the
- 40:37Speaker 2: being out outside the bounds of the company, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 2: prohibition on the gambling and the drink, and I just assumed,
- 40:44Speaker 2: I guess that there wouldn't be a whole lot of
- 40:46Speaker 2: reading going on.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Maybe they're that's they're looking in the books for the
- 40:51Speaker 1: hidden alcohol.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Could be or it could be like the one curmudgeon
- 40:57Speaker 2: who's you know, reading their Bible because they think that,
- 41:01Speaker 2: you know, drinking and gambling that's the devil's where.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Speaking of like the Bible, there is a really pretty
- 41:09Speaker 1: church in town. It's like very It's got the giant steeple,
- 41:14Speaker 1: it's all white hire it's so pretty. I'm not, like
- 41:18Speaker 1: obviously not a church person, but I really like the
- 41:21Speaker 1: look of churches that are really pointy.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Yes, no, here's the thing. I can get behind the architecture.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you just burn when you walk inside. It's fine.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, burst into flames.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I was curious too about the sounds of like the
- 41:40Speaker 1: papers rustling or crumpling, Like what yeah that about?
- 41:47Speaker 2: I mean maybe like the hotel manager because if you
- 41:49Speaker 2: think about it, or like it could even be like
- 41:53Speaker 2: front desk because if you think about it, literally back then,
- 41:58Speaker 2: everything like their reservation, all of the accounts, everything's in
- 42:02Speaker 2: like these big ledger books. That's true, So that would
- 42:06Speaker 2: account for the paper wrestling sound and the opening and
- 42:11Speaker 2: closing of books.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they're like where's the ledger? Yeah, I need to
- 42:16Speaker 1: book somebody.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like to me, I think it's so
- 42:21Speaker 2: interesting that mundane sounds like that are like part of
- 42:26Speaker 2: the sort of like the storytelling and you know, the
- 42:29Speaker 2: experiences with like a haunting.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I like that too, especially because it's like,
- 42:36Speaker 1: no one's down there, no one's in here. Where's that
- 42:39Speaker 1: sound coming from? Like? Why is it right happening?
- 42:43Speaker 2: I can't remember if it was an accountant or maybe
- 42:46Speaker 2: a lawyer. But it kind of reminds me. Do you
- 42:49Speaker 2: remember this is like literally day one of the show,
- 42:53Speaker 2: But do you remember when you talked about Pike Place
- 42:57Speaker 2: and I feel like there was i want to say,
- 42:59Speaker 2: an account that they said haunted his old office.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think it was the person who like
- 43:08Speaker 1: started Pike's Place.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I feel like that's the vibe it's giving.
- 43:15Speaker 2: You know, like he's just still going to work every day.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Going about his business. Yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he's still trying to run the hotel. It's not
- 43:22Speaker 2: even physically there.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Yeah, because you think like even though it's not the
- 43:28Speaker 1: actual building, like it has artifacts from the building, so
- 43:33Speaker 1: it's still holding on to some of that energy and
- 43:35Speaker 1: things are drawn to it still.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I mean, think about it. That's the ultimate ghost flex,
- 43:41Speaker 2: isn't it. You're just like still running this hotel that
- 43:45Speaker 2: doesn't even exist anymore physically.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 2: It's like, hey, well we don't exist on the physical
- 43:51Speaker 2: plane as living beings, right, I don't know.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Maybe they are still running the hotel and it's a
- 43:59Speaker 1: ghost hotel. We can't see it, and he has to
- 44:01Speaker 1: go back and forth looking for things because they took
- 44:04Speaker 1: some of the artifacts out of the hotel, and he's like,
- 44:07Speaker 1: where's my shit?
- 44:08Speaker 2: I mean, who knows.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I like that theory.
- 44:11Speaker 2: There's so many ways that could go. I think that's
- 44:13Speaker 2: I think that's a good one. It's solid.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Thanks. Okay, one more building real quick. Oh it's not haunted.
- 44:20Speaker 1: So we're ending on like a happy note. Port Gamble
- 44:23Speaker 1: Theater opened in nineteen oh six.
- 44:26Speaker 2: And it's not haunted.
- 44:29Speaker 1: No, they didn't really mention anything about it being haunted.
- 44:33Speaker 2: I'll believe it when I see it.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Maybe some things go down there, It just wasn't like
- 44:38Speaker 1: reported on. I want to talk to paranormal Peete. He
- 44:41Speaker 1: would know. Well, he knows everything about every building in
- 44:45Speaker 1: that town.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I mean he is the Goldarn expert. It sounds like
- 44:50Speaker 2: so the.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Town's Shakespeare Society and the school's drama club performed there.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I love that. That's a horrible I love that this
- 45:01Speaker 1: like little school, can't imagine it has very many students
- 45:05Speaker 1: had to drama clvee and they performed in a theater.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I just love it adorable as well as vaudeville acts.
- 45:14Speaker 1: And then it played silent films and talkies, which they
- 45:18Speaker 1: specifically said and talkies and now the port Gamble Ghost
- 45:25Speaker 1: Conference is held there and they claim that that's the
- 45:28Speaker 1: oldest ghost conference.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I mean, I want to believe them. Can they back
- 45:34Speaker 2: it up?
- 45:35Speaker 1: I did in fact check it, but that's what they
- 45:37Speaker 1: claim and I'm not going to question it, so.
- 45:40Speaker 2: All right, I mean that's fair to take them at
- 45:43Speaker 2: their word.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to go to the ghost Conference. I
- 45:47Speaker 1: think that would be so fun. They like actually teaching
- 45:50Speaker 1: classes and teaching classes. They can take classes to learn
- 45:55Speaker 1: like how to paranormal investigate things. Yeah. Yeah, well that's
- 46:01Speaker 1: all I have about port Gamble in the walker Ames House,
- 46:06Speaker 1: and I think we should maybe do some taro.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Oh you think so?
- 46:11Speaker 1: I think we should. We kind of said we do that,
- 46:13Speaker 1: so we probably should do that.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I guess we did kind of promise that at the top,
- 46:17Speaker 2: So fair enough. I did the shoe flea. I have
- 46:28Speaker 2: the cards laid out in front of my cable.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Okay, let's go with the W side because it's like
- 46:36Speaker 1: by the A too. Walker aims it works.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it does, And it's funny because that just happens
- 46:43Speaker 2: to be in a spot where you know, when you
- 46:45Speaker 2: like go to try to flush out like a whole
- 46:48Speaker 2: deck there's always like kind of little clumps there. There
- 46:51Speaker 2: do be a clump, so I need to know left
- 46:55Speaker 2: or right. There's no middle, there's kind of a middle.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I don't know. My brain said middle before you ask.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Okay, well that's the card that's conveniently the hardest to get.
- 47:07Speaker 2: But oh, oh interesting, okay, oh okay, five of swords.
- 47:14Speaker 1: It's an owl.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Over the river side. You probably can't really tell, but
- 47:19Speaker 2: there's actually two animals there.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Oh, he's got a rodin in his mouth. Yeah, oh
- 47:26Speaker 1: spooky it's the Northern spotted owl and Humboldt flying squirrel.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Oh not anymore, not anymore, so much okay, So keywords
- 47:40Speaker 1: in our little book are aggression, conflict, hostility, ambition, defeat,
- 47:46Speaker 1: or winning at any cost, which makes me think of
- 47:49Speaker 1: the hotel and the gambling that kind of does.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. A quick series of flaps and then silence,
- 47:58Speaker 2: A shadow momentarily eclipsing a sliver of moonlight, the intangible
- 48:04Speaker 2: feeling of a sharp eyed stare from above. The squirrel
- 48:09Speaker 2: never stood a chance. Really. She was perched upon a
- 48:13Speaker 2: springy limb, plotting the fastest route home to her leaf
- 48:19Speaker 2: filled nest. She readied her jump crunching down and tensing
- 48:24Speaker 2: her muscles. But instead of launching forward, she was lifted up,
- 48:30Speaker 2: carried aloft by razor talons under silent wings. There was
- 48:36Speaker 2: no pain, only shock, no hope of fighting back, only
- 48:40Speaker 2: total defeat. The battle was over before she even knew
- 48:45Speaker 2: it was happening. Ah for the owl, it was a
- 48:49Speaker 2: single meal, sustenance for an evening, unremarkable and soon forgotten.
- 48:58Speaker 1: It just gives me the so like kind of the
- 49:01Speaker 1: vibes of like a haunting, like they're there, they kind
- 49:05Speaker 1: of just pop in and scare you and then disappear
- 49:08Speaker 1: and like take your energy.
- 49:10Speaker 2: And write just another Tuesday.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and you said, did you say something about a
- 49:16Speaker 1: shadow in the beginning, because we talked about like a
- 49:19Speaker 1: shadow figure.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Oh, a shadow momentarily eclipsing a sliver of moonlight.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so shadow interesting.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Okay. And in our Big Book, the keywords are change, adjustment, loss, destruction, conflict, indecision,
- 49:39Speaker 2: and sadness. The number five signifies change, and this card
- 49:45Speaker 2: shows a time of adjustment after a conflict of some kind.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Sometimes the fight stems from ideological or spiritual differences.
- 49:55Speaker 1: That makes me think of what I said about the
- 49:57Speaker 1: house being like lived in and and then all of
- 50:00Speaker 1: a sudden, like it's abandoned and there's like some loss. Yeah,
- 50:05Speaker 1: either like by the house's spirit or the like spirits
- 50:08Speaker 1: in the house. Maybe they feel like a sense of loss.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Oh, it's interesting that you say lost specifically. So the
- 50:17Speaker 2: writer Wait Smith, Aquarian, and some other decks show a
- 50:21Speaker 2: soldier on the battlefield at the end of a fight.
- 50:24Speaker 2: The card asks what have you won or lost?
- 50:29Speaker 1: I think loss was one of the key words, is
- 50:30Speaker 1: why I said that.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but it makes sense though, like I feel like
- 50:36Speaker 2: loss has so many different connotations.
- 50:39Speaker 1: And then I also think of the town, like, thankfully
- 50:42Speaker 1: it was deemed a historic location, otherwise it could have
- 50:45Speaker 1: just been a ghost town right once the mill shut down.
- 50:48Speaker 2: I mean literally. The Five of Swords symbolizes the devastation
- 50:53Speaker 2: of war and recommends using diplomacy to resolve problems. After
- 50:58Speaker 2: a battle, you realize fighting isn't the best way to
- 51:01Speaker 2: settle disputes. The cost of winning may not be worth
- 51:05Speaker 2: the losses you've endured. I'm just going straight back to
- 51:10Speaker 2: the gambling or the.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Little boy in the basement, Like, fighting is not the
- 51:16Speaker 1: way to get people to go you toys.
- 51:19Speaker 2: No, Honestly, that's such a good Yeah. No, that's such
- 51:22Speaker 2: a good insight too. In a reading about money, this
- 51:27Speaker 2: card represents disputes over money, perhaps an illegal matter. It
- 51:32Speaker 2: also warns that even if you win, you may suffer.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Try to resolve differences without drawing swords. Vacillation or lack
- 51:43Speaker 2: of clarity can cause setbacks too. If the reading is
- 51:47Speaker 2: about your job, the Upright five cautions you to avoid arguments,
- 51:51Speaker 2: don't make enemies. This card may also indicate you're confused
- 51:55Speaker 2: about how to proceed, or suggest you need to get
- 51:58Speaker 2: more info before taking the next step. In a reading
- 52:02Speaker 2: about love, this card says you won't get what you
- 52:06Speaker 2: want by arguing hurtful words can't be taken back. Try
- 52:11Speaker 2: to resolve problems amicably, honestly, and fairly. You may have
- 52:16Speaker 2: to make some changes in order to improve a situation. Interesting.
- 52:21Speaker 2: I do feel like there's a little bit of a
- 52:23Speaker 2: vibe of like stop with the hair pulling, or I.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Think of the house and like what other towns people
- 52:31Speaker 1: think of it just basically being used for ghost tours
- 52:36Speaker 1: because I I didn't see it was used for anything else.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I do wonder.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Like except for maybe filming some scary movies, and things
- 52:46Speaker 1: in the basement. But I wonder what they think about that,
- 52:49Speaker 1: since like a lot of the other buildings have been
- 52:51Speaker 1: restored and are being used.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Right, what do people think about that?
- 52:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, are they okay with that because that is
- 52:58Speaker 1: like the biggest, most historical home in town.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe they'd like to see it used for another purpose.
- 53:06Speaker 1: I don't know, restore the inside, have it be a
- 53:09Speaker 1: B and B.
- 53:10Speaker 2: You know. I do wonder sort of what people think
- 53:13Speaker 2: about that.
- 53:14Speaker 1: It didn't come across anything like really negative about it,
- 53:18Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean it's not there. Okay.
- 53:23Speaker 2: So while we're chatting, I just thought, what if I
- 53:29Speaker 2: just pulled up the other card, you know, adjacent to it?
- 53:34Speaker 1: Oooh okay, I like it to go with your gut.
- 53:37Speaker 2: I was just curious, and most of the time I'm like, okay,
- 53:40Speaker 2: I feel like either the card reading, we you know,
- 53:45Speaker 2: kind of see some things. There's like some symbolism, you know,
- 53:50Speaker 2: it is what it is. I don't necessarily always like
- 53:53Speaker 2: get this gut feeling to draw multiple cards. But we
- 53:58Speaker 2: drew the High Priestess.
- 53:59Speaker 1: And oh okay.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Keywords are intuition, emotions, feminine power, imagination, spirituality, and the
- 54:10Speaker 2: inner life. It's interesting because and I'll just really briefly,
- 54:15Speaker 2: I won't read through the whole description, but this is
- 54:18Speaker 2: the one where it's a woman that's seated, usually positioned
- 54:22Speaker 2: between two pillars, one black and one white, which represents
- 54:27Speaker 2: the dual nature of existence, good and evil, light and dark,
- 54:31Speaker 2: truth and deception, positive and negative. There's an extra excerpt
- 54:37Speaker 2: before the reverse interpretation. The shadow psychologist Carl g Jung
- 54:43Speaker 2: thought the High Priestess symbolized the shadow, the unknown, secret,
- 54:48Speaker 2: dark and mysterious part that lies within each of us.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Ooh, or lies within each home. Uh huh.
- 54:57Speaker 2: And you're gonna absolutely shait your brain because the first
- 55:01Speaker 2: sentence and the reverse interpretation is the High Priestess reversed says,
- 55:06Speaker 2: your unrealized potential has yet to be discovered, which is
- 55:11Speaker 2: exciting enough talking about this house, and we were just saying,
- 55:15Speaker 2: I wonder if the locals would like to see it utilized,
- 55:18Speaker 2: possibly in a different way. Yeah, your secret, authentic self
- 55:24Speaker 2: is locked away in the basement. Jill, did you get
- 55:35Speaker 2: Jills goes? Jill and I was just hot not that
- 55:39Speaker 2: long ago, So yeah, it's just kind of crazy. I
- 55:44Speaker 2: was like, I don't even really need to like get
- 55:47Speaker 2: into the rest of the interpretation on this one. I
- 55:50Speaker 2: feel like because shadow Basement, like I think those are
- 55:55Speaker 2: the main bullets that we need here, Like I'm glad
- 55:58Speaker 2: I looked at that.
- 55:59Speaker 1: One too, and the fact that it's a woman, Like yes,
- 56:03Speaker 1: women ghosts were heavily featured in this episode.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Right, and you know the imagery of like you know,
- 56:10Speaker 2: you're in this long robe and you're between the white
- 56:13Speaker 2: and the black pillars. Okay, So then the other thing was,
- 56:20Speaker 2: you know, I said left or right, and you said,
- 56:23Speaker 2: is there a middle? We drew the middle card, so
- 56:26Speaker 2: then I was like, well, what's on the left of it?
- 56:28Speaker 2: Because I was trying to get you to draw left
- 56:31Speaker 2: right and you said middle. So anyways, the one on
- 56:34Speaker 2: the left was the King of Wands. So this is
- 56:38Speaker 2: really interesting because it's like our first card that we
- 56:41Speaker 2: read with sandwich between these like male female. I want
- 56:46Speaker 2: to say like authority figure in a way I don't
- 56:48Speaker 2: know if that's really the right word, but keywords for
- 56:52Speaker 2: the King of Wands leadership, self confidence, success, good fortune,
- 56:57Speaker 2: and loyalty. And this is another one where it's like,
- 57:01Speaker 2: you know, well it's a king. He's seated on a throne,
- 57:05Speaker 2: he's got the handsome robe and all that. It's not
- 57:08Speaker 2: a threatening figure. It's a dignified man who exudes confidence, authority,
- 57:13Speaker 2: and power, like I don't know, maybe the company man.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Yeah, walker or ams or paranormal pete.
- 57:22Speaker 2: I'm just saying so. It says in a reading the
- 57:26Speaker 2: king may signify an actual person when he does, it's
- 57:30Speaker 2: generally a mature man who's obtained a position of wealth
- 57:34Speaker 2: and status, perhaps the head of a business or a
- 57:37Speaker 2: leader in the community.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Oh wow, Yeah, that totally fits.
- 57:42Speaker 2: This is crazy. The king, upright, is a fortunate card,
- 57:46Speaker 2: regardless of the situation. If he represents a real person,
- 57:51Speaker 2: it's someone you can trust and rely on to do
- 57:53Speaker 2: the right thing. He's a loyal friend, a fair minded employer,
- 57:59Speaker 2: a wise advisor, a competent and honest leader.
- 58:03Speaker 1: That's cool. Yeah, Oh it's a it's a wolf or coyotes. Yeah,
- 58:08Speaker 1: that's a wolf.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like based on the stature of it,
- 58:12Speaker 2: coyotes are kind of gangly.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Yeah. What was the other one? They'll high priestesst one.
- 58:18Speaker 1: You didn't show me.
- 58:19Speaker 2: I know, because I don't want to touch it.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Is it a bug? Oh, it's the spider, that's right.
- 58:26Speaker 1: I love the.
- 58:28Speaker 2: It's really pretty. But yeah, I'm like, no, thank you.
- 58:31Speaker 1: It isn't a flower and there was a report of
- 58:34Speaker 1: floral scent. So just saying, I'm sure there are a
- 58:40Speaker 1: lot of spiders in that house too.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there have to be. That's a golden rod
- 58:46Speaker 2: crab spider, which is so interesting because it's like this
- 58:50Speaker 2: coastal place.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, we'll have to go visit sometime. Maybe possibly
- 58:57Speaker 1: you just outside, but meet inside. For sure. I want
- 59:00Speaker 1: to do a tour.
- 59:01Speaker 2: You're like, I'm going in.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Paranormal pete, give me a private tour. I don't want
- 59:08Speaker 1: to go with the whole group.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you want to have like the VIP experience.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:14Speaker 2: I think we know a couple of other podcasters we
- 59:17Speaker 2: could drag around up in there.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I think we could form our own tour group just
- 59:23Speaker 1: by the people we know. That would be fun.
