Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen, and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographic location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: As per the tradition of the aftermath and really the purpose of the aftermath podcasts, we've had a day to kind of sleep on.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yesterday's game, marinade on things, work out our hormones.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: How are you feeling about this Broncos team now?
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: One day removed from their 20 to 12 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: And Sean Payton also admitted Chad is starts with him.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: He appreciated the fact that Bow Nick took responsibility and Bow Nick should take plenty.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: He played very poor yesterday, but Payton's play calling and some of his decision making left a lot to be desired.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where I'm still at 24 hours later.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, even Peyton said last night after the game, all be better as far as the delays getting the play calls in.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's easy to crap on the quarterback on delay games because that seems to be the most evident culprit when they happen.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: But in yesterday's instance, it was the play calls.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: Peyton was just taken too long to decide what the next thing was going to be.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_03]: And by the time you get in these long ass, West Coast offense play calls that have like 34 words in them,
- 1:35[SPEAKER_03]: And you get the guys up to the line of scrimmage and you're trying to be a quarterback and set your protections and possibly even change things, see what the freaking coverage is, what's the alignment, all that stuff, boom, you're out of time.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, that's something you would think that they would have a better beat on, but,
- 1:51[SPEAKER_03]: Then again, it's only week one Zack.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_03]: So David Young could what's going on, brother?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_03]: Great to see you.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for being one of our valued members on YouTube.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: David says the defense is a lead.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: Sean's playbook is like a novel of horror and peace.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_03]: Two long-winded delay a game is Sean's fault waiting until 10 seconds on the clock.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I have actually read more in peace, not because I had to, but because I wanted to, and it was, I'm glad I read it.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_03]: It was a good book.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_03]: It was a bit of a slog.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_03]: I must say, though, but David, yes, these are, I don't think it's so much the playbook is like a novel.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, in terms of its size, I guess it is no doubt about it.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: But Zach really, it's just a nomenclature and more than that.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_03]: It's being a little bit more prepared.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_03]: relative to the clock, like you got to know that that clock's a tick and baby.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: There's also the billion substitutions that Peyton likes to run every game chat, and that slows down the process a lot significantly.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I would think that Peyton would want to stream a lot in that by now, with Bonix and Year 2, but I think that a lot of the slog was caused by the substitutions that Peyton likes to run.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_03]: And that's part of what like we learned in that what was it about a week before the season kicked off the athletic put out there.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_03]: Coaches.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_03]: Pole on the best offensive play callers and Peyton checked in at number eight and it was based on defensive NFL defensive coaches ranking their guys they hate going up against and The big compliment Sean Peyton was getting Zach in that in that.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_03]: anonymous quote from a defensive coach around the NFL, there was two aspects to the compliment.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_03]: One was his first 15 plays that he scripts are just tough to defend.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: And then also, as you just mentioned, the substitutions that he's moving things around and giving you so many different personnel in and out, plus different alignment personnel looks that it forces you to think to a point where this defensive coordinator was like, you know what, we're not going to
- 3:49[SPEAKER_03]: antidote, our solution is we're just going to try and keep our poise and play it straight up and hopefully that neutralizes kind of the trickeration and not trickeration in terms of the plays but just the window dressing and the moving around.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_03]: But it is effective, Zach.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's just you got to perfect it.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mentioned last season that Bonax was visibly kind of frustrated and antsy with how long the play call was, Chad, and it doesn't seem like that's improving that much this season.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Again, you think that Peyton, which streamlined it, but he has that tendency to outsmart himself and galaxy gray himself when he really doesn't need to.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: pop a bear jumping in what's going on David great to see you my brother.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the super.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for being a member.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: He says good evening Broncos country hashtag 13 and 4 plus plus plus plus.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_03]: God bless USA.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: Buckham times three.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm engaged for life.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_03]: Broncos for life.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go, Bo.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_03]: And then his comment Zach is, Bo Nix will be awesome.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_03]: That's a big question that's been on Broncos country's mind since yesterday.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think everybody
- 4:49[SPEAKER_03]: You know, not only Zach based on how well Bownex acquitted himself as a rookie and the historic aspects to his body of work, but that combined with all the hype, much of which was being generated internally from Sean Peyton, yesterday was a big let down and a little bit because it was such a striking deviation from the expectation, man, there's fans are are a little uneasy today, Zach.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: That someone brought it to my attention on Twitter that it seemed like Sean Peyton was trying to justify and build up, uh, but in kind of stat pad in other words, Bo Nixon to why he threw so much on the first half, that's what explains that bizarre fourth down call late in the game, Chad, where he chucked it down field to, I think it was Marvin Mims.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: And there's some truth to that, maybe, because that's the kind of coach that Sean Peyton is when he makes a declaration, he will come hell or
- 5:47[SPEAKER_03]: Run the ball because you have the horses to do it now and not only that, but it's the best way to improve the efficiency of your young quarterback and insulate him.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_03]: Sam, what's going on, brother?
- 5:59[SPEAKER_03]: Sam, bam, checking in.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Sam.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_03]: Very generous, super chat.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_03]: Also.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_03]: an awesome member of the community on YouTube saying hi guys a win is a win.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_03]: I honestly thought the Broncos were going to have a sloppy win against the Titans but I think Peyton will have the Broncos and particularly the offense much more buttoned up against the Colts go Broncos.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_03]: I hope so and it's one thing when
- 6:23[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you're as the head coach and play call are contributing to some of the chaos that was unfolding on the field yesterday's act.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_03]: So I do have faith that I always have had faith in Sean Peyton and in this instance, I have faith Zack that if he gets his side of the street cleaned up that trickle down effect on bow and thus the offense will be palpable, but
- 6:43[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's got to get that done sooner than later because I, again, if you guys were watching the gut reaction yesterday, I watched the entire Colts dolphins game front to back and I mean, hey, it's one game in the same way we don't want to get too far out over our ski zack over what the Broncos did, but the Colts looked.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_03]: like a legit team.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_03]: And they're not going to be a pushover in my estimation on the road later this week at Lucas oil stadium.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Sam.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't just Sean Payton and Bonix.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: The problems were limited so you don't have the offensive line.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: Ben Powers and Luke Wattenberg in particular, they were kind of
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: below average to me.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: Also the receiving core, let bow down, Tyler Badean, the backfield, didn't have the chemistry with both.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: So the person that was a problem, it was just a collective failure on offense yesterday.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: And Sam, I have the same optimism that we'll see a much more hopefully efficient operation in week two going forward.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: I do share your faith that Peyton will get it done though, Sam.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Ronk, great to see you, brother.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_03]: Good evening, Chad and Zach on the Mile High Hotel podcast, Gobo Broncos, checking in on Facebook, but he's also a super chat superstar.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_03]: And a member like Jake just became
- 7:53[SPEAKER_03]: on YouTube.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for that Jake.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome, dude.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_03]: Really appreciate you.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_03]: You've been with this a long time.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's been a minute since I've seen you in the chat, which welcome back buddy.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: But you've been with this a long time.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you for that support.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: It means it means a lot to us, buddy.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: The lady D jumping in with the generous super chat.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: We love you so much.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_03]: She says, glad we got the win.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: We must improve if we want to win against the cults.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: Can't play like that and think we can win.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: I have to say, like Zach coaching coaching Bo will do fine once he gets his feet under him.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: Hashtag MHH forward life.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, indeed.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: Stoke to see in a little over a month.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be so fun.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_03]: But it really does stem coaching coaching coaching
- 8:39[SPEAKER_03]: They have the coaching coaching coaching, right?
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: And they have the personnel.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just a matter of everybody kind of coming together and getting that chemistry and that flow down, which was obviously not quite there in week one.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Dina, as always.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_02]: And this was typified last season in Boz Rookie campaign.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: The first half of the year, you know, the Broncos started off the, started out of the gates kind of slow.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: And Boenix, it'll look that good.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: And it seemed like,
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Peyton, tweak the playbook and made it a little easier, a little more organ-like for bodice digest.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: And the brocos had more success.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: So that's coaching coaching coaching right there.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: And Deanna going forward, starting with this Colts game on Sunday, Sean has to lean on the run, take off the take-to-pressure away from Bonix, and play to the team strengths.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: And yesterday, the strengths were RJ Harvey and JK Dobbs.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_03]: Well said, my brother, thank you again, Lady D. The Davide in the house or the David, I had a buddy in high school and we were, was a junior high junior high actually and we took German together.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_03]: We had a German class together.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's how we became friends and his name was David Dave and so the coach, the teacher teaching us the German Mr. Wood was his name and he said, your name and German would be Davide.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_03]: That's how you would say it.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: And so now I see the David, I see the Dovee, who says on Super Chat, by the way, thank you, big dog.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone, one and all with two good, healthy running bags, a generational defense and a franchise quarterback, we be good.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: It could be just like 2015, half-fay.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, you take it back to 2015's act.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_03]: You had great coaching,
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: you had a great quarterback, you had this defense, you had the key pieces on the old line, you had the key pieces at the scale positions, but
- 10:25[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos took some time.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, honestly, if you think back to that season, guys, it never really looked all that good at any point in the season.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_03]: Peyton was on his last leg, he was going through the injury.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_03]: When Brock was on the field, you could see his inexperience.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: He was really, he had some games, don't get me wrong, but he was very much carried by the talent around him, and especially the defense.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_03]: And yet, they still continue to win despite their foibles, which points again to Zach my point after the game yesterday,
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: One of the marks of a quality team is one that, yeah, that's not perfect.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, there's maybe more warts than, you're comfortable with, but they still find a way to win.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_03]: That's kind of what the 2015 team was, all the way into the very end, it's seriously like, it was one fortunate happenstance after another, not in the hypey hype way that the Tim Teebo run was in the regular season, but, you know, little things like that that just, the cookie crumbled their way.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's no style points in the NFL.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: Wins a win and it all counts the same.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: So we should be grateful and eight point victory Chad with the best defense in the NFL.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: We would have given anything for that five years ago.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: So let's have some perspective.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot to work on, but it's week one.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want the Brock was peaking now.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: And if that's the worst, they look all year on offense.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna be just fine.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: I promise you.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, lots more to get to, including your comments and questions in the chat, your super guys.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_03]: Football's back.

- 13:22[SPEAKER_03]: Interestingly, Zach, the bears offense already on the board, leading the Viking seven nothing.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_03]: So for what it's worth.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_03]: Van Johnson effect, maybe, he already be measurable.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_03]: Lady D. Thank you for gifting 10 MHH YouTube memberships to the awesome folks in the chat.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure those who receive the gifts are appreciative of that.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_03]: You're awesome and speaking of tomorrow's Tuesday, which means noon mountain time.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's a fresh episode of Kelberman's Corner, hot takes that hold water with your boy, Zach Kelberman.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, sir.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Diana, for gifting the memberships to the community as you like to do.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: You are incredible.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: Can't wait to see you at the meet and greet next month.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: And can't wait to see you all on KK tomorrow.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be exciting.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah okay guys back to the issue at hand Taylor on super chat jumping in one of our valued members and superstars.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_03]: I think Sean Payton should hand off the play calling to Davis Web.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not worried about Bo at all.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_03]: He'll get it together.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_03]: Trust me.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_03]: Jaleal should play instead of but day.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what that was about but day.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you've got a couple of points here.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously Taylor and we'll get to him.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 14:34[SPEAKER_03]: I wish someone would have been a little bit more direct in the post game asking coach about why Jolil was sat down in favor of but day.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_03]: When Gillil's already proven to be more reliable in terms of the multi-facet running back, catching passes, screens, all that stuff.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's already proven, no problem.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_03]: I can do that stuff.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he's not, you know, the big time pass protection guy, but neither is biday.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: If you look at their size, they're very similar, although biday has got a few pounds on him, but size-wise, they're pretty similar, Zach.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know what that was about, but we'll see if it changes moving forward.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Taylor, I'll split the difference with you here.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: I grew with you on Julio.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: He has a much better chemistry with Bonyx catching passes out of the backfield.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: And there was a time last season where he was the best running back on the roster who Sean Peyton trusted the most.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: I don't agree though that he should pass off play calling duties.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's a little bit of an overreaction after one week
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: No one and I've been super critical of Payton's play calling since he's been head coach, but no one was saying this when the Broncos were into the playoffs and even after the Buffalo game last season and this is all in over reaction I think because Davis web looked good in that role in the preseason, but let's see it play out for at least one more week before we start to dismantle the order of operations here.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm not quite there either, although what was it?
- 15:52[SPEAKER_03]: The Cardinals game he called, I think.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: The second game is the one web called in the pre-season.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_03]: And that was that big Jared Stitham game.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Stitham was good in game one, but he really looked good in game two.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: What was that?
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: The two touchdown Troy Franklin game, I'm pretty sure.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_03]: Sean Peyton, I mean, he's one of the greatest of all time at offense of play calling and he's very confident, obviously Zack and his own abilities, I do not foresee him, given that particular responsibility up, although perhaps he will try to include the young buck a little bit more here and there, but another awesome thing for Sean Peyton Zack is by beating the Titans, he leapfrogged Mike Shanahan and who else?
- 16:37[SPEAKER_03]: It'll come to me.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was Tom Kaufflin and one more, but in the all-time wins and a fell history head coaches.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_03]: So think about that.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Mike Shanahan was a fixture in Denver, 95 through 2008, and yeah, he had two more years in Washington, head coaching, and then he had that failed stint in with the Raiders.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_03]: But Sean Payton is an institution.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_03]: He's been around a
- 17:06[SPEAKER_03]: He was Mike Shanahan, former two time back to back head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: You'd already be in the hall of thing.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know how they say an owner can't fire himself or he won't fire himself.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's basically the position Sean Patens in.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's no reason why he has to give a play calling.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: This is his baby.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: We all know how cocky and maybe he could testicle Sean Patens.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: So unless he gets pressure from ownership, he's not going to do that.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't see ownership pressure anytime soon.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_03]: lady D jumping in again we love you.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what we do without you.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for your positivity, your generosity, and also your unique opinions on these very pressing Broncos subjects.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you lady D love you.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_03]: She says they definitely need to run the ball.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_03]: We will win more
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: Harvey and Dobbins are a great duo.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_03]: You're welcome looking so forward to the meet and greet.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's gonna be awesome.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's gonna be awesome.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_03]: I like both Harvey and Dobbins.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I only watched the game once and it was while it was live and I'm doing other things, I'm live tweeting, I'm doing stuff, I'm later in the game getting ready for this podcast, all that stuff.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_03]: But Eric trickle, he watched the game live, he watched the all 22 film to put out his grades.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_03]: did that occur to you at all.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to critique Eric.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just genuinely asked and I have to go back and watch and see, or maybe I'll just pay more attention in week two, but he didn't really, he carried it 16 times, but he didn't seem slow to me, especially on that 19-yard touchdown, like he was patient, trusted his eyes, and the blocking, and then boom, squirted through, broke some contact, gone.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the Broncos signed him for a speed.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's a power back and he showed that on that touchdown run when he broke multiple tackles.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: RJ Harvey's the speed guy and he showed that off getting around the edge.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: He might have gotten a little winded toward the end first game playing in that mile high altitude, but it's a perfect compliment.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: I always talk about what Detroit has in Jamir Gibbs and David Montgomery.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the Broncos basically have a light version of.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: You're right, D.N.A.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for your generosity as always.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: And when you look at the schedule chat, the next four games, it's quite the daunting task.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: You add at Indy, at Chargers, home for the bangles on Monday night, and also at Philly.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: And after that's the jet's game in London.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to have to figure out what their identity is.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: If they're a run first team, a past first team, and they're going to have to find out very, very quickly.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, with the exception of perhaps the Eagles, which is quite a ways away, the one big difference though is that D line that the Titans have, I mean.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_03]: I'm surprised, honestly, Dobbins got at 16 times, most of those carries came in the second half.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_03]: He still managed 3.9 yards per carry, which isn't like jumping off the screen in the same way that RJ Harvey's 11.7 yards per carry average was, but against that Titan's defense man, it was grinded out, grinded out.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_03]: And some of those runs against the lesser defensive lines, that will pop, you know,
- 20:10[SPEAKER_03]: Look, the Colts have still the Forest Buckner who look very good yesterday for what it's worth, but that D-Line is a whole not as much of a physical force, which I think will also allow these the Broncos interior to look a little bit better than they did that first game.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is though the interior run blocking and that's been an issue since the preseason chat.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's so spotty.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's so inconsistent There's holes that open on some plays and there's none that open on other plays and regardless of who they play I mean the the jet's defense is going to be tough the Charger's defense is going to be tough None of these opponents are going to be easy and the run blocking and up front and all of the operation from the play calling to the running backs of the blocking They have to figure out how to become a run first team and quickly
- 20:55[SPEAKER_03]: I want to grab a couple comments from members more super chats I see but real quick Jake saying that he's been listening since we drafted bulls that was 2017 by the way big dog might have been since drafting Lynch which that was 16 but dude that's awesome that's that's so cool you've been with us that long and we feel old when we hear these things but we also take pride in our age and hope that it translates somehow to uh
- 21:18[SPEAKER_03]: to wisdom, you know what I'm saying?
- 21:20[SPEAKER_03]: Jason also a member saying good evening.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: All yesterday was a big wakeup call.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_03]: Confident the offense cleans it up this weekend and they show a market improvement against the cold.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_03]: Do you say in that phrase, it kind of depends on where someone's from in the country.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_03]: Do you say marked improvement?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_03]: Is that or would you say marked market improvement?
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: I can't bring myself to say market.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_03]: I know it sounds so stupid.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_03]: It's how I read it.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like when I'm reading it in a book or something,
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, your response here to Jason's point, but isn't it great that we got a wake up call and still came away with a victory?
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos are one and no, and they picked up an AFC victory at that.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: So sort of saying if it's week one, the Broncos one by eight, the defense looked utterly dominant and they still came away with the W. It could be a lot worse.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Don't let them peak now.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to get better as the season goes on Jason.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think starting on Sunday at Indie.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Ron, it's only one game plenty of time to improve.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_03]: Jason on super chat.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for the support Big Dog.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: It means the world to us helps us keep the lights on.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_03]: I want to encourage you though, become a member.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_03]: Click the join button on our YouTube homepage.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_03]: Says Jason though, a win is a win offense will improve, but with that defense will be in every game and afraid of no one.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_03]: Do we really need Drake Greenmont?
- 22:40[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: We haven't gotten to that yet.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: The answer is, do we need him like,
- 22:45[SPEAKER_03]: Not going to win games without them.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_03]: But imagine how much better it could be.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_03]: Because Singleton, he was solid.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_03]: I'm proud of him.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_03]: I'm stoked for him.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: That was his first game back after missing whatever was Zach 14 games last year with an ACL.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_03]: But you could see the rest was falling off for him in chunks.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_03]: And Strenot, thank goodness, had himself a game and relief of Greenlaw.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: But do they need Greenlaw?
- 23:10[SPEAKER_03]: No, could they really use him?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_03]: Even as good as they are, yes.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_03]: And Sean Payton said, today,
- 23:16[SPEAKER_03]: In, uh, kind of offhand, it wasn't answering a direct question on the subject.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_03]: He was asked about Talonoh, who fungus amazing play in the debut and he was talking about him.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_03]: And then it reminded him of something of green loss.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_03]: So he said, the same goes for green law on that same issue, you know, something about, uh, what was it, um, intensity or whatever.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, and he goes, but you'll be seeing green law sooner than later.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: What exactly does that mean, Zach?
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_03]: He's close, he probably could play like if this was, if yesterday was a game's act for all the marbles, for example, I bet you green loss plan, but she's practiced an all week and so if they're thinking now we can we can rest him through these first two games and be okay, they're probably right in terms of being okay, because Justin's turn on look good single tunnel get better as the season wears on I'm certain of
- 24:07[SPEAKER_03]: But the cults are not the cults.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: We maybe thought they were even sitting back in Ocasak.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you right now, they're going to be a little bit more of a handful than we initially reckoned.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I heard this exact same phrase.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to see him soon when it comes to green law from Peyton in the preseason or during trading camp.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll believe that when that happens.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully he gets out there soon.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: But do you need him?
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's why you gave him 31.5 million dollars.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: Why else would you sign him then?
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: Stir nod was good for one game against a poorer offense.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how that's going to hold up over the course of a season.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: Singleton's still a very one-dimensional limited player chat.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: Good against the run but exploded in coverage.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: You sign green law for his coverage ability.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: You sign him to finally rectify that Achilles heel of not having a dynamic pass covering inside linebacker.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, you need him because you're going to be playing a lot of good offenses soon.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: Not everyone's going to become more back there.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: You don't have to rush him on one hand, but I'm telling you right now, if he's good enough to play, let him play, because these culture for real, but I, I'm kind of in that same place you are, Zach in terms of Sean Peyton hyping us up about when he's going to be around, I'll believe it when he's out there when I see it, but oh, okay, he really is back.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_03]: The question is, when's that going to be sooner rather than later is pretty vague?
- 25:24[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't really give us any specificity on the subject.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_03]: My guess, educated, I'm going to say my prediction is week three chargers.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: But we'll we'll have a good indication of whether I'm right or wrong on Wednesday.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: Even if he's limited in practice on Wednesday, it's a bigger step toward possibly plan week two.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_03]: But we won't know even anything at all, tell Ben.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm going to take the man, the word of the man who literally hates despises talking about injuries and purposely with holes in formation about injuries.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: I see Roddy saying, don't rush green law.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying rush.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: But you are eventually going to need him.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's why you signed him in the first place.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: So get healthy soon, Dre.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: Please.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_03]: Eric Flynn, good to see you on Facebook, big dog.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for being around and for the support as always, brother.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, pro 16, no game is easy in the NFL.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: There are no gimmies.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_03]: But there are those matchups where it's like, hey, you're favorite to win or the expectation is you're going to win and the Broncos are out to prove.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of like last year, that was one of the marks that they had turned to corner is they beat all the teams that they were supposed to be exact, but they struggled to beat any of the teams
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: They came back and close in Kansas City, whatever that was, week 10, that was close.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_03]: But all the higher quality opponents and all even includes sincey in that equation, even though they missed the playoffs last year, you know, the Broncos fought hard, but they ended up those were the games that they lost.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_03]: They found ways to lose.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: But you learn more from
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: failure than you do winning.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_03]: And so even though it's good to have a little bit of that taste of loss and that disappointment even in a winning season as last year was because it helps to inform them moving forward.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_03]: They have that now Zach that collective experience of being in those games against tougher opponents and just kind of the difference that it takes that intensity level.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, think about that Bangalors game.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Burrow would not be denied.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_03]: In the final analysis,
- 27:29[SPEAKER_03]: Bonyx wouldn't either.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: He freaking made some huge plays in the fourth quarter, Marvin Menz as well, to force that to over time of Sean Peyton, you know, puts a little trust in his quarterback.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe they win that game with the two-point conversion set of kicking the extra point.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_03]: But I digress.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_03]: This is a young team, failure, helps in form, helps learn.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_03]: I think you're going to start seeing that come out in the wash this year, but they played so little in the in the preseason that there's, you know, considered that kind of their dress rehearsal wasn't an exhibition game, thank God it was against a rookie quarterback.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's good as I think Cam Wardsack is actually going to be, thank God it was him week one.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you brought up the Bengals.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_02]: They're an interesting case study, similar to the Broncos.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Look what they did, the off-season chat.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: They loaded up for an obvious Super Bowl run.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: They brought back T-Higgins and Jamar Chase and they've recigned Triandrics in.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: And they played the Bengals, or the Browns, excuse me, the first week of the season, the worst team in the NFL.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: I believe the Final Score was 1716.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: They barely eat doubt in victory.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: It happens because pro-16 is right.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: No game is easy.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: easy in the NFL.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: No team or opponent is a give me any given some Sunday anything can happen.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why the Brock was can't play down to their level of competition.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they did that a little bit yesterday chat.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: They walked in there thinking we're at home, facing a rookie quarterback team with a number of overall pick last year.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: We can play half effort or whatever an experiment and still blow them out.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's never going to work in the NFL.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_03]: Jeremy, I need your phone numbers.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_03]: So shoot me an email,
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: and get me your phone number.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_03]: I need to talk about something homeboy.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: Jeremy Sean, the Dovee jumping in again, perhaps it is in fact, oh, it's the David.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: Of course, you know, I know what this sculpture is.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm at least semi-culture to enough to recognize the statue of David with the Bronco hat on.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_03]: I get it.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_03]: what you didn't like my eighth grade anecdotes about German class.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, it's a marble sculpture he says.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the super chat again, bro.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: Number two, by Michelangelo as Stout and Fire as our defense.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: I'm native since 83 awesome dude.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_03]: Huge Broncos fan.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_03]: So love the channel.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's energy into the universe with my four kids.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_03]: Respect to Mac,
- 29:47[SPEAKER_03]: hashtag MHHH for live.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's cool, dude.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_03]: Really appreciate you and the positive vibes and in the props for the channel.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, David.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thank you so much, David.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_03]: That's cool, man.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate you.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_03]: George Fox jumping in on Facebook throwing down as he is want to do appreciate you as well, George.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you tonight.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_03]: Zach,
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: This is an interesting point, and it's encouraging from the wrong.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, Daniel Jones, let's face it, man.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_03]: This guy looked good, week one.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_03]: If you, the cults, I forget the stat now, but they scored on all seven of their possessions.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_03]: It was just the first, and did not have a possession in which they did not score.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_03]: That's the definition of all, I guess, right?
- 30:31[SPEAKER_03]: It is an absolute.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: But that's the first time a team had done that in many, many moons, decades.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_03]: Daniel Jones looked good.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't just like, he can buy, getting a field goal on all seven positions.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_03]: But Rock's point here is, be that as it may.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_03]: Daniel Jones hasn't played the Broncos defense yet.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: exactly.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: And every year, Sam Darnals was the case last season.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: Every year, there's a quarterback who gets way overhyped based on one performance or a couple games body of work.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I know he played well, but the dolphins are garbage.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hot garbage at that.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not taking that much away from that week one called Victory.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see, let Chad said, how DJ looks, a guy who got ran out of New York and replaced by Russell Wilson, let's see how he looks against this dominant
- 31:21[SPEAKER_03]: One of our dear members, Pearl Heater, jumping in to ask, Zach, can the opposite be true to playing to the upper level of the opposition the opposing team?
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you saw that last season, Pearl, the shootouts that the Broncos got in.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: I know the defense kind of let him down against the Chargers, the second game, the Bangle's game that, you know, as Chad reference before.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: So at least on offense, we've seen Beau rise to the occasion and we've seen the Broncos played up, except maybe in the Buffalo Playoff game too, up, up, up superior opponent.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I think is going to happen.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Seems like they struggle when they're picked to win Chad or when they're the favorite.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: They're much better as an underdog.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_03]: agreed.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_03]: I agree with that.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: That's just kind of where they've been for so long now.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's still just kind of the best disposition for them.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_03]: And it takes time to become a team that is comfortable being the favorite.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it takes time.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, paint manning teams.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_03]: They weren't the favorite for a long time.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_03]: You've been as he started to find his footing as a pro.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_03]: He's a day one starter, but it took him, it was like,
- 32:21[SPEAKER_03]: a couple of years before it was like, yeah, let's go out and handle our business and sometimes you still get upset, but the Bronco's still more comfortable Zach playing that,
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, thank you, Jeremy.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_03]: They're more comfortable playing that, the underdog.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: Lady D, home, my goodness, third top rope super chat of the night, love you so much.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_03]: She says, my opinion, the hype needs to lessen, puts unnecessary pressure on the whole team.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: Winning after so many turnovers is also a tremendous accomplishment.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Most other teams would have lost with that many turnovers, positive takeaway from yesterday's game.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_03]: And a good one at that.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was the first win since 2016 where the Broncos had four turnovers and still won.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_03]: And that last one was against the Los Angeles Chargers back in 2016.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_03]: So they might have been the San Diego Chargers either way.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_03]: It was the Chargers and interestingly enough,
- 33:19[SPEAKER_03]: It just illustrates Zach.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_03]: It is not easy to win games when you turn it over four times.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_03]: And that doesn't count the two turn over on downs the Broncos had as well.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's not easy to win in the NFL period.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: And that's something Sean Payton likes to tell the team.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: And it's true.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you so much again, Diana, first and foremost.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: You are absolutely incredible.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: But these are situations where we would have been very fortunate, again, five, six years ago.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have to tell you guys how many times the Broncos had that many turnovers played that sloppy and were picked to win.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: They ended up losing the game.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's still a difference in culture and a difference.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think in coaching and quarterback play, obviously, when the Broncos can have a bad game and still come out on top, that counts for something in my opinion.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_03]: Well said, well said, and thank you again, lady D, and that's a very positive take away.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_03]: I would concur 100%.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what Andy's up to on Facebook.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_03]: He says, the Broncos were supposed to win by eight and they did.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_03]: Don't worry, they're not losing any game soon.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_03]: Who knows how or what any team is at this point?
- 34:25[SPEAKER_03]: It's early, they won after four turnovers.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_03]: That says a lot.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_03]: They won't be that sloppy every game.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_03]: That's for sure.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: Bonyx, if we can trust anything about Bonyx,
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: He'll rubber band back to the hard to sack stingy about turnovers quarterback that he's been his whole career really since going to Oregon I'll say right so dating back his last three years a playing call playing high level football he's a tough sack and he doesn't give the ball away but what I want to see from bow.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_03]: is man, don't make it harder than needs to be my dog.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: And keep in mind, you're freaking technique.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like he was breaking down and just, we stupid arm angles unnecessary, not setting his feet.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, he was pressured a lot, Zach, that was one of our complaints in the gut reaction last night.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_03]: And we've even talked about it today.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I'm not looking so hot, but
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: looking spooked when there wasn't pressure, like not.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_03]: And by looking spooked, I simply mean not minding his piecing cues on technique and stuff and not setting his feet and using unnecessary arm angles and just weird stuff that just seemed like he was trying too hard.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, again, I'll go back to the P word seemed like he was pressing a little bit.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I think this also circles back to something.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_03]: Deanages said about the high expectations and people just need to go, hey, football.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just like go football's back, guys.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: We don't need to go.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's Super Bowl or bust.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Sean Payton for that and everything and all.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: And of course Broncos fans have high standards and yes, we want the Super Bowl.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: But let's just enjoy this, getting to finally watch the team again after so many months
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Continuing to grow within the lead.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, even last night after the game, Sean Pate was Azac about Bone Nexus growth.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_03]: What kind of growth is Bone X shown?
- 36:15[SPEAKER_03]: You think in game one and dude?
- 36:18[SPEAKER_03]: It was like the quintessential
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: dismissive insulting, uh, here's what he said, I'm just going to read it to you real quick.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_03]: He said, well, where he saw growth from Beau after last night's game, quote, here's the thing though, and I appreciate the question, but we're not going to have a growth meter each week in year two.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_03]: He's in his second year.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_03]: I love the player.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_03]: I get a chance to see him every day.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_03]: He can be a huge reason why we win games And so we're not going to have that weekly meter.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_03]: That's the first refused growth meter in week one I mean, that's crazy close quote Zach.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_03]: I hate to have been I shutter to whoever that was I feel bad for
- 36:58[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like when you're Sean Payton's quarterback though and a young quarterback at that, you're going to try to press in week one of your second season when your coach told you you could be a top five guy publicly by the way, made that declaration just a few weeks ago when he's saying that you're quarterbacking a Super Bowl capable team.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's a lot of pressure to put on Bonax and I think Nick's
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: is feeding and kind of vicariously living through Sean Payton in that sense and going out there and playing as if Sean Payton as Sean Payton coaches.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: That is kind of cocky thinking he knows and make it can make the plays and doing what he shouldn't be doing and hopefully like you said Chad that kind of comes back down to earth in week two.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_03]: Sonny one of our great members.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for being a member says the dolphins defense made Daniel Jones look like Payton Manning.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: He won't
- 37:48[SPEAKER_03]: I agree on that front in terms of he's going to find it a lot tougher going against the Broncos, but I'm telling you Yes, they look whoever else said that that the the Finn's defense looked like a turn style.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I'll agree with you, but Jones I was surprised by his play one game one game, but I was surprised Cody Thank you for the super chat big dog and for being an Awesome member as you are Colts won't put up 33 on this defense.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_03]: That's a fact.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_03]: I agree and yet
- 38:18[SPEAKER_03]: And yet, all right, it's pretty, pretty touching GoZac last season until Jonathan Taylor dropped the football on the one yard line or whatever, the one inch line.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the, the Colts had the Broncos on the, on the ropes a little bit early, like they were motorbodenum, and that was a nice swing for the Broncos and they managed to take that momentum harness it, never look back, but it could have been a different story.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_03]: So all I'm saying is, yes, Zach,
- 38:47[SPEAKER_03]: The philosophy of any given Sunday always holds true, but the cults, man, they look good in week one and don't sleep on them, I do think the Broncos are going to handle their business.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's just not going to be quite the walk in the park that I initially perceived it to be for I'll just speak for myself, Zach, when the schedule initially came out.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'd be shocked if they put up 33.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_03]: uh... david saying hi by the way i love your anecdotes my kids and i watch this pot and listen to it in the car on the way home from the games do that's awesome thank you for for including us in your in your uh... family game experience that's awesome can't get over this defense i just pray they can stay healthy i know and especially zac like we were wondering hey i i was a lot more vocal about this in the summer than you were but i also speak for myself once again i was like you know do you want to pay
- 39:40[SPEAKER_03]: Benito after a one year wonder kind of deal you want to see him like do it a little bit in the in the next season before you like roll out the brink's truck, but
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: He gave us a hint of it in that one preseason game that he appeared in and then yesterday he was an absolute terror dude like I'm starting to when I see him out there still not the physical guy that gone was against the run, but he's so dominant he impacts the game on almost every snap that when I see him out there now I get visions of on Miller.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I saw something on next gen stats about Nick Benito, who's worth every penny, by the way.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: He had 22 past rushes, Chad.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: He had nine pressures of those 22 past rushes and five of those pressures were under 2.5 seconds.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the guy is beyond dominant and the Broncos were very wise to lock him up now.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_03]: Think about this, Bradley Chub was supposed to be the successor to the Great Bond Miller.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_03]: Perhaps if things would have gone a little bit differently for him, but the Broncos Zach ended up trading him to the dolphins.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_03]: For Sean Peyton essentially, right?
- 40:51[SPEAKER_03]: That's the way it basically shook out.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_03]: They took that first round pick.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_03]: They got for the Bradley chub trade from the dolphins and used that parlay with the saints to get the rights to hire Sean Peyton.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: And people say George Peyton's not an elite general manager get out of here.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_03]: Now by now, look, I understand why some people were saying that following the Hackett higher in the rust trade, but now you got to just tip your cap, even the most vociferous doubters and they critics of George Payton have to hand it to him, admit the dudes doing a damn good job.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_03]: And it's worth mentioning, too, Zach, the Patons spelled differently, but the Patons have turned out to be
- 41:35[SPEAKER_03]: very good a very good working tandem, right?
- 41:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like, yeah, once football gets here, Sean Payton's focused on the coaching and whatnot, but the big personal decisions, Sean Payton's not in there doing the scouting, but when it comes time to make those personal decisions, whether it's draft,
- 41:49[SPEAKER_03]: pro personal free agency stuff like that.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_03]: They are making good decisions together.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_03]: And George Payton's doing a good job to keep Sean Payton's prototypes and whatnot in mind when he's scouting guys.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_03]: And so far, it's been a very cohesive pairing.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll be honest with you.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: I was a little bit surprised by that.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't sure if maybe Sean Payton originally, I mean, this is ancient history now, but when Sean Payton hired here, Zach, I was like, we were like, this is George Payton, basically gone after the draft
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the haters in this in the cynics of George paid need to get over it.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's been three years since the hack at higher and the Russell Wilson trade.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: And in those three years, he has more than made up for those failures.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: Which weren't all 100% on him anyway, but don't just story for another day.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_03]: Rock says that Hufanga was wearing a bone mix shirt.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he also said, you know, you got to ask the question that was kind of in the vein of
- 42:45[SPEAKER_03]: at his locker after the game of like, you know, tough game for Bo, what do you make of it type thing?
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: And he said, look, it's a team sport.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: That's the cool thing.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: Regardless of the outcome, whether both rows and receptions, we have our part defensively, we have to step up too.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_03]: I have a lot of confidence in Bo.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be wearing this shirt if I didn't have confidence in my guy.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: So that's Talonohu Fanga on Bonax X.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: I also like what what he said about the defensive performance yesterday.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: He goes, you know, we have a great secondary.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: Don't get me wrong defensive player of the year, but that front seven is really incredible and he's not lying.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_03]: This sucks, Roger.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_03]: Not talking much tonight because I have a cracked and abscessed tooth.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_03]: I'm definitely, I'm feeling really miserable even with pain pills.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_03]: Need to have it extracted later this
- 43:38[SPEAKER_03]: you don't really think about it till you don't have a choice like they're fine until they're not you know when you get genuine tooth pain it's hard to it's hard to really match that against anything else and that's coming from a guy who is genuinely broke my back many years ago but I broke my back and so thoughts up for you big dog prayers get that sucker yanked
- 44:07[SPEAKER_03]: All right, where are we at time wise man?
- 44:09[SPEAKER_03]: I could look to the left.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's not there.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: I got to look to the right now.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_03]: We're at 45 minutes.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, we're doing pretty good time wise, but we're getting close.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_03]: So let's call this the two minute warning any burning topics, questions, supers, get them in the chat.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get to him before we dip on out here.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_03]: But Rodney, thank you for always being in the chat big dog.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_03]: I want to invite you as well, become a member.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_03]: Go click the join button and become a member of MHH.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_03]: Rodney says these next couple of games will be battle test for Denver and how adversity takes place.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_03]: Don't be too confident or cocky and just take care of business.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_03]: Well said, dude.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_03]: And I think yesterday, again, they won the game.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_03]: We can't lose sight of that fact.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_03]: And I think for the most part, everybody in our communities doing a good job of keeping that in mind.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_03]: But it was sloppy enough and not up to standard enough that Zack, I'm confident that that'll have been a bit of a, not only a wake-up call, but, you know, an appeal to certain dudes pride, Sean Payton being one of them.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_03]: Bonyx being one of them.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it would not shock me in the least if you saw the Broncos offense come out.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_03]: I know I've been talking at the cults.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_03]: They did look good yesterday, but it would not shock me at all.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: Bonyx and the Broncos offense came out gangbusters on the road in Indy and just like lit it up in the first half.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_03]: Just because they're kind of pissed to be hearing the things they're hearing even though they know it's true.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: They weren't too good yesterday.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I think being too cocky, being too arrogant and overlooking their opponents who would extend contributed to that.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: And they got humbled by a victory.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_02]: Think about that for a second, not a loss, but a win.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to take that in a week too and make the proper corrections and like Chad saying, I think you'll see a better offense for sure and Indy.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_03]: No Sam, Sam wants to know what the super chat.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, brother.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: Again, number two for you tonight was Pap Ryan to help the scratch yesterday.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_03]: I just realized I never heard his name in the game.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I can tell you what Zach, if you want to talk for a minute, I'm all pull up the gamebook and we see we can see how many snaps he got.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I didn't, uh, there wasn't too much too many Pat Bryant sightings yesterday, except for Portland Sutton and Troy Franklin.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there wasn't too much going around for him.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly four snaps on offense.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_03]: So there you go, he was healthy, he was dressed, he was out there, four snaps on offense, none on specials.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_03]: So he played officially, 5% of the offensive snaps.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_03]: I expect that to improve as time marches on, especially if Zack, Trent Scherfield's blocking, snap-loose don't improve on the quick.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_03]: They need that blocking on the perimeter, Pat Bryant's another guy that can be relied on in that sense, even though he is a rookie.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I thought it was weird.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: Not only did McLaughlin get scratch for the game, but also Q Robinson, Savi on Jones.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you spent considerable draft capital on these players, including Pat Bryant.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I would want the Procs to get them on the field more when we're applicable.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_03]: So while I'm still on the sheet here,
- 47:11[SPEAKER_03]: Let's take a look at the draft class snap count.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_03]: So I already mentioned Pat Bryant for RJ Harvey had 22.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_03]: That was 29% of the offensive snaps he was out there.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's pretty solid for him.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_03]: To be honest, Dobbins was out there for 53% I know he's not a rookie, but.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_03]: just in contrast so you can kind of get a fill for Harvey's playtime.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_03]: Ingram, Evan Ingram also not a rookie, but 26 snaps.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_03]: That was 34 percent.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_03]: Apparently, Zach, he's fine with the calf.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think it was a calf.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see, but who else?
- 47:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking for the rookies here.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: had that recovered fumble you wrote about him today 37% of the snaps he played to the uh... yesterday and shon patent was talking about it it's tough for the uh... the first round pick to get in there when make millions looking so good in the nickel and and he's right i make million one that starting job fair and square chat at training camp and he's the better player right now but baron isn't again where he's fitting in and that right now that's on dime looks in those kind of packages
- 48:20[SPEAKER_03]: Q Robinson was a healthy scratch.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_03]: He was one of the inactive as was third round defensive linemen, Sabion Jones.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that wraps up the rookie class that is on this team.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: Unless I'm.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_03]: Not counting Krosha, I guess, but you know, he was on the field for his seven special team snaps did his job.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, there's your SNAP count update for the rookies.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_03]: Doc J.C.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for being one of our valued MHH members on YouTube.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_03]: He says string guy fly down to St.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_03]: Kits.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_03]: And I'll put you in my docket and the treatment will be Bronco fan to Bronco fan just saying oh that is my doc okay smiles or my thing that's cool dude, that's awesome maybe I'll come visit you one of these days brother no thank you very much for the super chat doc.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, thank you.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_03]: Cody Dubb some people aren't realizing how good that Titans D line actually is not every team is stacked on the D line like that and I was a point I was trying to make yesterday and today, you know, we got a factor that in Zach to how Wattenberg didn't look good, powers didn't look too good, honestly, when miners didn't look too good, but it was miners who drew the toughest assignment of the day mostly having to take on Jeffrey Simmons who
- 49:39[SPEAKER_03]: even though he got all that attention from the offensive line plus the fact that miners is an all-pro, he's still impacted the game, dude, all through the game and had that strip sack on bone nicks.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, not Jeffrey Simmons, they got the strip sack on bow as well.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_03]: So Jeffrey Simmons, dude, he's a thing.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_02]: If it hears the thing, Cody, how many millions have the Broncos poured into the offensive line?
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: This is supposed to be a top three you didn't in the NFL.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: It works both ways and to quote JFM, the standard is the standard.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: And the standard should be to block the best opposing player in the front seven.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: And they didn't do that.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_02]: And this is an issue, Chad, that went back to the preseason.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_02]: What was the excuse then?
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: They were too leaky in past protection.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: And they were an opening holes in the run blocking.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, by the way.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos relinquished one sack.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_03]: It was Jeffrey Simmons, the strip sack.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: Both, third giveaway, it was the second giveaway, but it accounted for the third, so to speak.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: So two picks and a, and a bummer.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: All right guys, we've got a few messages for you.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_03]: Then we're gonna dip on out of here, but don't go quite yet, cause we're gonna check the chat one last time.
