- 0:01Everywhere we turn we see mounting crises.
- 0:05The news reports are dire. Climate disasters are
- 0:09increasing. We are poisoned daily by toxic
- 0:13substances in our food, water and the very air we breathe on a
- 0:19day-to-day level. We are struggling in a world
- 0:22that seems to be impossible to understand, with change that is
- 0:26impacting every aspect of our lives.
- 0:30New technologies come along that need to be mastered simply to
- 0:33survive. We find it harder to maintain a
- 0:37balance in our lives and we struggle to understand how to
- 0:41make ends meet and at the same time pursue our personal goals
- 0:47and aspirations. We see wars breaking out, we see
- 0:52mass migrations, and our media are constantly instilling fear
- 0:58in us with the warnings of imminent disaster.
- 1:03We have developed weapons of such magnitude that we can
- 1:06destroy our planet many times over.
- 1:10Researchers have developed a doomsday clock and this set ever
- 1:14closer to midnight. Clearly, we have reached a point
- 1:20of extreme tension where we stand on the brink of a
- 1:22precipice and we are pressured to find a way out.
- 1:28Many give up and turn to dissipation, drugs and alcohol,
- 1:33mindless entertainment, or simple avoidance.
- 1:37Yet these solutions are simply attempts to cope with the
- 1:40issues, not solve them. Those who recognize and try to
- 1:46solve these problems are caught in gridlock as the proposed
- 1:50solutions come into conflict between different groups of
- 1:53stakeholders. Our economic and political
- 1:57solutions simply are either not working or cannot be
- 2:00implemented. The interlocking crises limit
- 2:05our options, as a fix in One Direction seems to have
- 2:08unintended consequences in another.
- 2:13All of this points to a method of nature that creates an
- 2:17ultimate contradiction or conflict in order to push
- 2:21towards a new form of progress. The proverb necessity is the
- 2:27mother of invention reminds us that what we are seeing is not
- 2:32simply an existential threat, but an opportunity.
- 2:38We have the opportunity to abandon old ways of seeing and
- 2:42acting. We have the opportunity to leave
- 2:45behind the framing of our situation that prevents us from
- 2:49seeing the solutions. We have the opportunity to step
- 2:54outside of our narrow approach to things and begin to see and
- 2:58respond from a new, higher level of consciousness.
- 3:03We see the signs around us. A photograph taken from outer
- 3:07space looking back at the Earth provided us a clue.
- 3:11We are all part of an incredible, interactive,
- 3:15interdependent environment. We are symbiotic to the other
- 3:20species on the planet, and we cannot simply continue our old
- 3:25ways of conquering and destroying when in fact those
- 3:30old ways are harbingers of our own extinction.
- 3:34It is time for a leap into the future through the development
- 3:38of a new vision, a new understanding, a new
- 3:42consciousness, the mother observes.
- 3:46Quote. One thing seems obvious.
- 3:50Humanity has reached a certain state of general tension,
- 3:54tension and effort, inaction even in daily life, with such an
- 3:59excessive hyperactivity, so widespread a trepidation, that
- 4:05mankind as a whole seems to have come to a point where it must
- 4:08either breakthrough the resistance and emerge into a new
- 4:12consciousness, or else fall back into an abyss of darkness and
- 4:19inertia. This tension is so complete and
- 4:23so widespread that something obviously has to break.
- 4:27It cannot go on in this way. We may take it as a sure sign of
- 4:32the infusion into matter of a new principle of force,
- 4:36consciousness, power, which by its very pressure is producing
- 4:42this acute state. Outwardly we could expect the
- 4:47old methods used by nature when she wants to bring about an
- 4:50upheaval. But there is a new
- 4:52characteristic, which of course, is only visible in an elite.
- 4:57But even this elite is fairly widespread.
- 5:01It is not localized. At one point at one place in the
- 5:04world. We find traces of it in all
- 5:08countries all over the world. The will to find a new, higher
- 5:14progressive solution and effort to rise towards a vaster, more
- 5:19comprehensive perfection. End Quote reference Shriyuro
