- 0:16Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:20Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan ol Maley along
- 0:23Speaker 1: with Trey Trentholm and Raj Sharma. Today is Monday, August eighteenth,
- 0:30Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. So excited to talk to you, Trey
- 0:40Speaker 1: and find out what happened at your dating event on Thursday.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Give us the lay of the land. Okay, what type
- 0:51Speaker 1: of an event was this? Was this like a speed
- 0:53Speaker 1: dating thing? Is it just to walk in and start
- 0:56Speaker 1: talking to people or like was there games?
- 1:01Speaker 2: It was?
- 1:04Speaker 3: If I had to give it a word, I would
- 1:07Speaker 3: say mixer.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:10Speaker 2: They had.
- 1:12Speaker 3: The rooftop of this place on Greenville rented out. It's
- 1:16Speaker 3: called Tarazi Toaso. Really nice place, very nice rooftop there
- 1:22Speaker 3: were And remind you this event it sold out in
- 1:29Speaker 3: I think four minutes.
- 1:31Speaker 2: It's amazing, but.
- 1:33Speaker 3: It was only one hundred and fifty people. The other
- 1:35Speaker 3: events they've done for the young'ins that they've gone up
- 1:42Speaker 3: to seven hundred people. The next event they're doing is
- 1:44Speaker 3: for to hold two thousand.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh my god. Okay, yeah, So the event that you
- 1:49Speaker 1: went to was for singles aged thirty five and up.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Correct, And I believe they were shocked that how many
- 1:59Speaker 3: of the of those there were. And I mean, I
- 2:02Speaker 3: think the next event thirty five plus they're planning is
- 2:05Speaker 3: more like an event of for like five hundred.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Or like which eyes wide shut kind of thing.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I that's it's interesting because honestly, the event size of
- 2:21Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty was really good. So the event
- 2:26Speaker 3: was from seven thirty to nine thirty, shockingly, so thinking
- 2:31Speaker 3: like it's like everything else kind of in life, It
- 2:34Speaker 3: started at seven thirty. I got there at eight, which
- 2:36Speaker 3: party wise, seems like, you know, that was wrong. You
- 2:41Speaker 3: need to get there at seven thirty because the first
- 2:43Speaker 3: thing I figured out off out is you know, the
- 2:47Speaker 3: earlier there, you kind of pick who you want to
- 2:48Speaker 3: talk to and then everyone. So by eight o'clock a
- 2:52Speaker 3: lot of people had already kind of matched up and
- 2:55Speaker 3: are talking to people, and so you're then just waiting
- 3:00Speaker 3: for other people to come in that you can talk to,
- 3:02Speaker 3: or you know, people that free up. But but it
- 3:07Speaker 3: was it was a very nice event. And I think
- 3:11Speaker 3: the second thing that shocked me was like online dating,
- 3:17Speaker 3: they say there's like ten guys for every one girl.
- 3:19Speaker 3: They struggled to get enough guys here that was actually
- 3:25Speaker 3: how I got a ticket because the event sold out
- 3:28Speaker 3: so quick. I didn't. I had no idea. And then Abby,
- 3:32Speaker 3: the girl who founded this the dity trail thing, she posted, Hey,
- 3:37Speaker 3: I do still need guys thirty five plus and that's
- 3:39Speaker 3: I center of text. I was like, Yeah, I'm fifty one.
- 3:41Speaker 3: If that's too old, no worries. She's like, no, you're
- 3:42Speaker 3: perfect age, And honestly I was kind of fifty one
- 3:46Speaker 3: I would say was probably the median you know age.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So that, right, there is a win going to a
- 3:55Speaker 1: dating event for thirty five and up and you're fifty
- 3:58Speaker 1: one and you're not the oldest dude in the room.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That's already a thumbs up. There's at least a little
- 4:04Speaker 1: bit of success going into it.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so how does it work.
- 4:07Speaker 3: When you go in?
- 4:08Speaker 1: So since you said it's like a mixer, so it's
- 4:10Speaker 1: basically just people show up and then they just kind
- 4:13Speaker 1: of go around from person to person or group to
- 4:15Speaker 1: group going like Hi, I'm Trey, I'm fifty one in
- 4:18Speaker 1: single or whatever.
- 4:20Speaker 2: How does that work?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Because if there's no structure to it, like say a
- 4:24Speaker 1: speed dating thing, then when and you show up late,
- 4:30Speaker 1: do you then just kind of stand off to the
- 4:31Speaker 1: side and kind of try to see if you can
- 4:33Speaker 1: get someone's attention and be kind of like, hi, would
- 4:36Speaker 1: you mean.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Like I mean, honestly, And it was just like being
- 4:42Speaker 3: in a bar. The only difference is you knew everyone
- 4:46Speaker 3: there was was there because they're on the dating for
- 4:51Speaker 3: this daity event, you know.
- 4:53Speaker 1: In that case, that actually is really awesome because when
- 4:56Speaker 1: you go to a bar, just in general, you're on
- 4:59Speaker 1: a mission to meet somebody, but other people that are
- 5:01Speaker 1: at the bar might not be. They might just be
- 5:04Speaker 1: there hanging out with friends, or they're doing something else,
- 5:07Speaker 1: just something else entirely, so you're right, at least this
- 5:11Speaker 1: time you're going up to someone, everyone kind of knows
- 5:14Speaker 1: what to expect.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yeah, But and that that actually one of the other
- 5:21Speaker 3: things that shocked me is talking to people and overhearing conversations.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I guess so many, especially the girls, do speed dating
- 5:29Speaker 3: events because they also said it's the speed dating events
- 5:32Speaker 3: are normally more girls than guys. But I really I
- 5:36Speaker 3: envisioned speed dating after kind of overhearing everything and talking,
- 5:41Speaker 3: you know, kind of like that interaction between Macaulay Culkin
- 5:44Speaker 3: and John Candy and Uncle Buck, And I.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Think that's how you should absolutely approach it. You need
- 5:56Speaker 1: to go do speed dating, and you need to do
- 5:58Speaker 1: that scene.
- 6:00Speaker 5: But this is also the sign of the times. When
- 6:01Speaker 5: you keep saying speed dating, I just imagine like meth
- 6:04Speaker 5: or coke, like.
- 6:06Speaker 2: You know, that's speed dating.
- 6:08Speaker 3: What's uptown?
- 6:10Speaker 1: This Dallas?
- 6:11Speaker 3: It can happen.
- 6:13Speaker 1: They are not mutually exclusive. You can speed date while
- 6:16Speaker 1: on speed Yeah, it's.
- 6:18Speaker 3: It's it's it's Dallas. You know they're bathrooms.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's practically a public nuisance at that point, or an
- 6:27Speaker 1: attractive nuisance.
- 6:29Speaker 5: That's a great event to be a drug dealer at.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Okay, so you're still single, mm hmm. But it sounds
- 6:39Speaker 1: like you would do this again.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I would definitely do it again. I will do
- 6:44Speaker 3: it again. I'm going to do a speed dating event
- 6:46Speaker 3: just for s and giggles and you know, see, yall
- 6:52Speaker 3: can enjoy it.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I think you want to come. I just want to
- 6:56Speaker 2: come with you.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You need to go, you need to go, RAJ.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I just want to I just want to watch.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Uh all right, I think Roger could probably develop a
- 7:07Speaker 3: whole new comedy routine on your interactions.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 7:13Speaker 1: You're already big into crowd work as it is roj.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I mean, what crowd work could there possibly be than
- 7:18Speaker 1: a speed dating event with Trey.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I just want to I just want to get the
- 7:25Speaker 5: parking situations sorted out and then just watch Trey lose
- 7:29Speaker 5: his patients.
- 7:30Speaker 2: That's all I want to see. That'll make my night well.
- 7:34Speaker 1: And maybe that that would be the good thing about
- 7:35Speaker 1: speed dating for you, Trey, is that there wouldn't be
- 7:39Speaker 1: the opportunity to necessarily lose your patients unless someone's just
- 7:42Speaker 1: really awful right off the you know, the top.
- 7:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:46Speaker 3: It's the funny thing, is I after again? Why I said,
- 7:52Speaker 3: you know, I should have gotten there right on time,
- 7:53Speaker 3: because you know, everyone kind of square it off and
- 7:57Speaker 3: we're talking. So I do understand the advantage of speeddating
- 8:00Speaker 3: is that everyone has to rotate around.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because since you showed up thirty minutes late to
- 8:05Speaker 1: this dating event, all the good ones were taken already.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Hm, so you unintentionally put yourself at the nerd table.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You've got the dayshift people.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It was a thirty five plus event, but since Trey
- 8:25Speaker 1: walked in thirty minutes late, he got all the forty
- 8:27Speaker 1: five's in up.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Everybody else went to bed.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Here's the thing, Tray, I know you're a silver fox,
- 8:34Speaker 1: but if you want to get the gold, you need
- 8:35Speaker 1: to show up on time.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Next time, I will absolutely show up on time because
- 8:40Speaker 3: and I think God bless him thirty five plus I
- 8:43Speaker 3: think everyone showed up on time, knowing that everyone wanted
- 8:46Speaker 3: to be in bed by ten o'clock.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Did anyone stay after the allotted time?
- 8:53Speaker 3: I left it nine oh five? I don't know.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I think that's called sweep dating.

- 10:29Speaker 1: What was the best thing? We're going to move on
- 10:31Speaker 1: to what I think is possibly the best headline I
- 10:34Speaker 1: have seen all month. Before we get to that, I
- 10:38Speaker 1: need to ask one major question though, about your dating
- 10:41Speaker 1: event that you attended, Trey, What was the best thing
- 10:46Speaker 1: about it that I went.
- 10:51Speaker 3: That I actually I got the nerve up to go
- 10:53Speaker 3: because I was I don't know why, I really I
- 11:00Speaker 3: got in my own head and I was I was
- 11:04Speaker 3: to Dan to give you a level of nerves that
- 11:07Speaker 3: I somehow conjured up the last time. I kind of
- 11:10Speaker 3: remember feeling this nervous. There were two events, both of
- 11:13Speaker 3: them you were there and was dancing at Lebert.
- 11:22Speaker 1: That was the one I had my finger up on, like, okay,
- 11:24Speaker 1: I know that's one of them. Had with the time
- 11:26Speaker 1: we danced at Labert for charity, not because we were desperate.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And then doing that stupid song at the White Trash
- 11:31Speaker 3: Party or whatever. The one thousand miles so and it
- 11:37Speaker 3: was nothing to be afraid of. I just I got
- 11:39Speaker 3: in my own head. But like I said, it was
- 11:44Speaker 3: I have been a I've been sober for you know,
- 11:50Speaker 3: nine years as of yesterday.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I feel like you deserves more than a golf clap,
- 11:56Speaker 1: but I don't. Yeah, it's it's all a marble right now.
- 11:59Speaker 3: And even in sobriety, I've been on the working side
- 12:02Speaker 3: of the bar, which kind of gives you an advantage
- 12:06Speaker 3: of you're talking to people whatever. So it was really
- 12:12Speaker 3: the first time in a very long time I had
- 12:14Speaker 3: been on the customer side of the bar sober. But
- 12:18Speaker 3: everything was cool. Shockingly, I did not get asked one
- 12:22Speaker 3: time about I mean, I just I got a topa
- 12:25Speaker 3: Chico and a glass. I don't know really anyone could
- 12:27Speaker 3: tell any difference between a drink or not, although they
- 12:31Speaker 3: served them in different cups now that I think about it.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But anyways, it was fun. I definitely it gave me
- 12:41Speaker 3: a relax relax. I I'll be able to not only
- 12:44Speaker 3: do that again, but then it just probably go out
- 12:46Speaker 3: more and meet people kind of it's kind of putting
- 12:50Speaker 3: me back out in the wild.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So that's awesome. Yeah, it makes sense because now that
- 12:54Speaker 1: you've done it. That fear has now been removed. The
- 12:57Speaker 1: mystery is now gone. You know what to expect, and
- 13:01Speaker 1: that can be one of the hardest things to do. Like,
- 13:04Speaker 1: my wife is really weird when it comes to stuff
- 13:06Speaker 1: like that. If we're walking into a new restaurant or
- 13:08Speaker 1: some new place of any type, she doesn't like to
- 13:11Speaker 1: be the first person through the door. She wants me
- 13:13Speaker 1: to do it. I'm self conscious about that because then
- 13:16Speaker 1: I look like a Chauvener's prick when I do that,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and I'm worried about people thinking that I'm a jerk
- 13:21Speaker 1: making her, you know, come in second. That's like, no,
- 13:24Speaker 1: she's just weird. So it's a similar thing. Now that
- 13:28Speaker 1: you've gone in, you know what's gonna happen the next time,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and you'll be more relaxed and maybe you'll walk out
- 13:34Speaker 1: with a lady next time.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Also, I'll definitely get there on time, so uh yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 3: can of get first first DIBs on people? Because because
- 13:50Speaker 3: there that's it. There were there were some women there
- 13:54Speaker 3: that we were smoke shows. I mean they were hot.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So and it's great for you because you know, if
- 14:01Speaker 1: a chick is that hot, but she's at a dating event,
- 14:03Speaker 1: she's got a level of crazy in her that you love.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Well, that's the other thing I think when you're at
- 14:09Speaker 3: an over thirty five, and like I said, predominantly it
- 14:11Speaker 3: was probably forties and early fifties, you know everyone's broken.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yeah, which honestly, I think is where you operate best.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because like she's she's gonna be a little
- 14:24Speaker 1: bit broken, and she's probably gonna be a little bit
- 14:27Speaker 1: crazy because she is still single, so there's probably something
- 14:30Speaker 1: a little off about her, and that would and that's
- 14:32Speaker 1: probably the reason why no one's locked her down just yet.
- 14:34Speaker 1: But that's where you walk in. You're coming into your era, Tray.
- 14:38Speaker 1: This is the trendhome era. This is tray season. I
- 14:43Speaker 1: can't wait to see what you do in this era.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I mean, from now on, I'm gonna be walking in
- 14:50Speaker 3: there and see a bunch of broken, broken women and going,
- 14:56Speaker 3: I'm mother Picasso. Let's go.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm broken, but I'm not broke, lady.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I'll put you back together.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I've got some gorilla glue in the car. Let's go.
- 15:16Speaker 1: With that line.
- 15:22Speaker 6: You're listening to The Treehouse.
- 15:25Speaker 7: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 15:28Speaker 1: All Right, we didn't get to it. Best headline, Best
- 15:31Speaker 1: headline coming up.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Stay there, You're in the Treehouse.
- 15:45Speaker 8: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Best headline, Best headline. This is the headline I saw
- 15:55Speaker 1: this morning, and when I saw it, I read it
- 15:57Speaker 1: once and uh did like a spit take slash snort
- 16:02Speaker 1: on my coffee, Okay, which is really hard to do
- 16:05Speaker 1: all at the same time. But when you're getting over
- 16:07Speaker 1: a chest cold and congestion, weird things happen. Your body
- 16:10Speaker 1: starts to revolt and instead of just a normal spit
- 16:14Speaker 1: take that you spit out the liquid, it also gets
- 16:16Speaker 1: trapped in your sinuses, so then he just looks like
- 16:19Speaker 1: a weird black coffee sludge thing coming out of the
- 16:22Speaker 1: holes in my face. Anyway, here we go without further ado.
- 16:28Speaker 1: F fifteen right along passenger accidentally ejected while on the ground.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Had it not been for your crazy date night Antis Tray,
- 16:47Speaker 1: this would have been the story we started with and
- 16:49Speaker 1: we may have ended with on this show. F fifteen
- 16:56Speaker 1: right along Passenger accidentally ejected while on the ground.
- 17:04Speaker 5: That's the worst Goose reenactment ever.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Oh, I have so many questions.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I know, man, I know, and I have absolutely zero answers.
- 17:18Speaker 2: The parachute shouldn't even deploy.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I haven't been able to get past the headline to
- 17:23Speaker 1: actually read any of the content of the story itself.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I just I'm just lost in the beauty and the
- 17:30Speaker 1: romance and the visual in my head of F fifteen
- 17:33Speaker 1: ride along passenger accidentally ejected while on the ground.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I'm just trying, like I'm gonna guess an F fifteen
- 17:44Speaker 3: probably you know, it's probably a two hundred million dollar plane,
- 17:48Speaker 3: and you know they can't afford a post it note
- 17:50Speaker 3: that says do not touch.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Or a button that says start engineer.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I would like to think, let's let's keep this in mind.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I would like to think that if this jet is
- 18:05Speaker 1: two hundred million dollars, that it has a remote start
- 18:07Speaker 1: and it has a disable eject for the for the
- 18:11Speaker 1: ride along passenger in the back.
- 18:14Speaker 5: This is the worst make a wish ever, all Right, So.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I'd honestly like to think that we don't take civilians
- 18:25Speaker 3: in F fifteen's, And that's what I would like to think.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I remember going to an air show as a child
- 18:32Speaker 1: and they wouldn't let me take photos of a cockpit
- 18:36Speaker 1: of an F sixteen. And this was at the Fort
- 18:40Speaker 1: Worth Air Show, you know, years and years and years ago.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know, eleven years old, and
- 18:46Speaker 1: they'll let you look at it, but no pictures. And
- 18:51Speaker 1: keeping in mind that was a stripped down model. It's
- 18:53Speaker 1: not like this, like this F sixteen that they had
- 18:55Speaker 1: at the air show. This is the one that they
- 18:56Speaker 1: just roll out to let the kids crawl on. This
- 18:59Speaker 1: thing wasn't going to the Gulf War kind of a thing,
- 19:01Speaker 1: you know.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Uh, yeah, they still I mean our they say the
- 19:09Speaker 3: military is twenty years ahead of civilian technology, and so
- 19:13Speaker 3: even even a strip down that's still you know, a
- 19:16Speaker 3: second or third generation that you know, there are other
- 19:19Speaker 3: countries that fight for that.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, you're right. That jet after after the Fort
- 19:23Speaker 1: Worth Air Show was probably sent to the Latvian Air
- 19:25Speaker 1: Force to actually use.
- 19:27Speaker 2: That went to Ukraine's.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Along with along with all those Buffalo Bills, Super Bowl
- 19:35Speaker 1: Champion T.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Shirts and a few of the kids that were crawling
- 19:40Speaker 5: around on it. Yeah, sure, why not sending them as well?
- 19:44Speaker 1: All right, So this is going to be the first
- 19:45Speaker 1: time I've actually read any of the actual story, okay,
- 19:49Speaker 1: because I keep getting caught up with the headline F
- 19:52Speaker 1: fifteen right along. Passenger accidentally ejected while on the ground. Okay,
- 19:58Speaker 1: here we go. Oh, this is an updated version too.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Like the new headline actually reads F fifteen right along
- 20:06Speaker 1: passenger accidentally ejects while on the ground. Updated who A
- 20:13Speaker 1: backseat passenger and an F fifteen D Eagle belonging to
- 20:18Speaker 1: the one hundred and fourth fighter wing appears to have
- 20:20Speaker 1: accidentally ejected from the aircraft while it was on the
- 20:23Speaker 1: ground at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts.
- 20:28Speaker 1: An updated video.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Oh, there's video of this.
- 20:34Speaker 1: This is how good of a headline it is. I
- 20:35Speaker 1: didn't even know there was video to this. An updated
- 20:38Speaker 1: video posted on social media shows the aftermath of the incident. Oh,
- 20:43Speaker 1: just the aftermath. A puff of smoke is seen wafting
- 20:46Speaker 1: from the back seat as the F fifteen is still taxiing.
- 20:49Speaker 1: The canopy, having been blown off during the ejection sequence,
- 20:53Speaker 1: is lying on the Eagle's left wing. The passenger appears
- 21:02Speaker 1: to be crawling next to the runway near what looks
- 21:06Speaker 1: like a parachute as the F fifteen continues to roll by.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Just look it up at the pilot, Hey a little help?
- 21:22Speaker 1: You signed the waiver shortest flight ever for you.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Bro, Iron Eagle sequel grounded.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Finally get Iron Eagle four and he hit the eject
- 21:36Speaker 1: button before shooting. Oh my god, this is fantastic.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Oh can we see Do we get to see the video?
- 21:44Speaker 1: Uh? Yeah, give me a second here. A near zero
- 21:47Speaker 1: zero no speed or altitude. That's so zero zero means
- 21:50Speaker 1: no speed or altitude. A near zero zero injection has
- 21:55Speaker 1: its own added dangers. But it's not the first time
- 21:59Speaker 1: someone on a ride along has inadvertently punched out of
- 22:02Speaker 1: a tactical jet. There needs to be some safety barriers
- 22:10Speaker 1: in place if the ride along passengers keep ejecting themselves
- 22:14Speaker 1: from the jets.
- 22:17Speaker 2: When they're doing the little training video or whatever it is.
- 22:20Speaker 5: At the end, they're like, and please, as a final note,
- 22:23Speaker 5: don't eject yourself.
- 22:26Speaker 1: You know, I know those handles that say eject, don't
- 22:28Speaker 1: touch those, well.
- 22:29Speaker 3: And that's what I'm curious. You kind of assume at
- 22:31Speaker 3: some point they've updated the means of ejection because in
- 22:35Speaker 3: the old ones, like in Top Gun, they had those
- 22:37Speaker 3: levers up above. Yeah, do people think those are os
- 22:40Speaker 3: handles and they just start grabbing them?
- 22:42Speaker 1: You know, they might, they might. It is sort of
- 22:45Speaker 1: an attractive nuisance. At that point, it looks like a handle.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Therefore I should grab it. It looks like a grab bar. No, no,
- 22:51Speaker 1: that's not a grab bar. Here's what they need to do.
- 22:55Speaker 1: They need to take the ride along eject handles and
- 22:58Speaker 1: cut them. Just cut him out, Just remove the temptation.
- 23:05Speaker 2: For a premature rejection, because.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Clearly there's a problem here. These ride along passengers are
- 23:14Speaker 1: getting way too excited and they're prematurely ejecting.
- 23:18Speaker 2: That's a weird support group to belong to him.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I'm Dave, and I'm a premature rejector.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Hi, Dave.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Everybody's still wearing the parachute exactly.
- 23:31Speaker 1: That's just what I was thinking. Everyone's in a circle.
- 23:33Speaker 1: They still got the parachutes on the flight suits and everything. Yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 1: it's a total embarrassment.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I just want to see this video.
- 23:44Speaker 5: I'll look it up because I'm gonna lose my stuff,
- 23:46Speaker 5: I could promise you.
- 23:48Speaker 1: All right, hang on, let me see how I can
- 23:49Speaker 1: pull this up for us. Give me just a second.
- 23:53Speaker 1: All right, here it is fifteen right along passenger accidentally ejects. Okay,
- 23:57Speaker 1: let's see we I don't know if there's so many
- 23:59Speaker 1: audio to this ball. Here we go. Well, there's music
- 24:12Speaker 1: to it, so they're just showing it after the guy's
- 24:14Speaker 1: ejected and the jet is rolling around with no canopy
- 24:18Speaker 1: and no back seat passenger.
- 24:21Speaker 3: And the pilot just here just hanging his head.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Along you've been flying today?
- 24:30Speaker 1: That does suck. It's like, of all the jobs in
- 24:32Speaker 1: the air force and you get stuck with the one
- 24:34Speaker 1: that you've got to You got to bring along the
- 24:35Speaker 1: the makeup wishes, and.
- 24:39Speaker 5: It's been you know, this day and age. Everything gets recorded,
- 24:43Speaker 5: so now he'll never let this down.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, there it is. I see the canopy on
- 24:51Speaker 1: the back of the jet. There here, we look right there.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Just it's like it's like it just flipped up and back.
- 25:05Speaker 3: There's the passenger there.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Looking a little disoriented.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's bad enough. I mean, you're not top gun.
- 25:12Speaker 3: You're like cap gun.
- 25:16Speaker 2: You're naked gun. At this point.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Looking around.
- 25:20Speaker 2: What happened?
- 25:21Speaker 1: I was just in the jet and now I'm now
- 25:23Speaker 1: I'm on the tarmac, Like did we fly all gassed up?
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:34Speaker 1: All gassed up and no place to go.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Now that pilot's going God, even the coast guard is
- 25:38Speaker 3: gonna make fun of me.

- 26:20Speaker 1: Give us a follow today us wait speaking of today?
- 26:26Speaker 1: Oh wait, no, it's not time for birthdays yet. Got
- 26:28Speaker 1: one more segment then we'll do birthdays. Uh for now, Trey,
- 26:32Speaker 1: I know this is music to your ears. This is
- 26:34Speaker 1: music to anybody's ears. You were right the other day
- 26:40Speaker 1: when you first told us about your dating event that
- 26:43Speaker 1: you were scared to go on. You were reminding us
- 26:47Speaker 1: how this is the first big thing that you were
- 26:49Speaker 1: having to do sober that in the past you weren't
- 26:54Speaker 1: sober to do. Because there's one thing that is tried
- 26:58Speaker 1: and true that alcohol can do for the human and
- 27:01Speaker 1: that is give us liquid courage. You had to go
- 27:05Speaker 1: to this thirty five and updating event sober, which in
- 27:10Speaker 1: general terms means you had to row dog this dating event,
- 27:13Speaker 1: and I applaud you for having done it sober. Where
- 27:20Speaker 1: you were right comes into play. Is this taking shots
- 27:25Speaker 1: before a first date increases success rate by sixty percent.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Science is backing you up, Trey. It's always a good
- 27:35Speaker 1: feeling to know that a long held belief isn't just
- 27:41Speaker 1: a thought, it isn't just an opinion. It is scientifically
- 27:45Speaker 1: backed research. And that's what you have now. A new
- 27:49Speaker 1: study indicates that having a small drink before a first
- 27:53Speaker 1: date could increase your chances of making a good impression
- 27:56Speaker 1: by up to sixty percent. That's good numbers. Researchers link
- 28:01Speaker 1: this effect to reduced social anxiety and a boost in confidence,
- 28:05Speaker 1: which can help conversations feel more natural. In moderation, alcohol
- 28:09Speaker 1: can slightly lower inhibitions, making people more open, relaxed, and expressive.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Experts do caution, however, that balance is crucial. Too much
- 28:19Speaker 1: can quickly backfire, leading to slurred speech, impaired judgment, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: sending unintended signals, undoing any initial advantage. So just keep
- 28:29Speaker 1: that in mind. Don't overdo it just a little bit.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I'll do it unless you're trade, which you're sober, and
- 28:37Speaker 1: there's no such thing as just a little bit, so Trey,
- 28:40Speaker 1: you were right. Liquid courage is real. Yeah, it's very good.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I did not need a scientific study to tell me
- 28:54Speaker 3: that one Yeah, and that helps not only the first part,
- 28:57Speaker 3: but even more importantly the latter part of Yeah, one
- 29:01Speaker 3: shot good, five shots.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Bad, six shots spring break, which is in its own
- 29:10Speaker 1: way a dating event, but no one's going to judge
- 29:15Speaker 1: you negatively. Six shots and dancing on a table at
- 29:17Speaker 1: spring break, you do it on a rooftop on Lower
- 29:20Speaker 1: Greenville at a thirty five and updating event. You're gonna
- 29:22Speaker 1: get some side eye and a dislocated hip, but you
- 29:31Speaker 1: won't feel it till tomorrow. Did anyone embarrass themselves at
- 29:40Speaker 1: your at the dating event, Trey or just you by
- 29:42Speaker 1: showing up thirty minutes late?
- 29:45Speaker 3: Like I said, in the normal, if someone tells you
- 29:49Speaker 3: a party is from seven thirty to nine thirty, what
- 29:51Speaker 3: time are you going to show up about eight eight?
- 29:54Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 29:54Speaker 3: I mean that's but no, no, no one embarrassed themselves,
- 29:59Speaker 3: and uh yeah, it was a very that in that way.
- 30:04Speaker 3: It was very much a thirty five plus event. Everyone
- 30:06Speaker 3: was having a good time, a few drinks, but I
- 30:09Speaker 3: think everyone wanted to be in bed by ten.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Yeah, everyone still had time to get home and watch
- 30:14Speaker 1: a little Netflix before bed.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah. How many people asked what time the kitchen closed.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I got to eat something.
- 30:22Speaker 3: They had had really nice food going around and so
- 30:24Speaker 3: oh okay, yeah.
- 30:27Speaker 5: A little appetizers and some drinks. Was was that all
- 30:30Speaker 5: included in the ticket price? No, but they were running
- 30:33Speaker 5: a special that there there was no ticket price.
- 30:36Speaker 3: It was free. You just you just had to sign
- 30:39Speaker 3: up and and to get the ticket. And from what
- 30:43Speaker 3: I saw, I looked at the menu, I mean like
- 30:47Speaker 3: I got I bought a top of Chico and it
- 30:50Speaker 3: was four dollars and uh, but most of the drinks
- 30:52Speaker 3: were they were doing a special, so I would say
- 30:55Speaker 3: everything drinks and food they had like meatballs and some
- 30:59Speaker 3: little pizzas and some other things. Uh, we're in the
- 31:02Speaker 3: eight to ten dollars range.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So did they have a did they have a specialty
- 31:06Speaker 1: theme cocktail like the Lonely Hearts drink or anything like that.
- 31:11Speaker 3: They had some some specialty cocktails. I don't know that
- 31:14Speaker 3: any of them were.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Or like the one lady you told us about that
- 31:17Speaker 1: you spoke to something with bitters, bitters and boobs. That's
- 31:29Speaker 1: the next event right there.
- 31:35Speaker 8: You're in the treehouse. Visit us online a Treehouse on

- 32:29Speaker 1: and that they can do the same. So let's grow
- 32:33Speaker 1: right here inside the Treehouse Show. Today is Monday, August eighteenth,
- 32:39Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate today with some birthdays. Although
- 32:45Speaker 1: unfortunately we have to mention a couple of birthdays that
- 32:48Speaker 1: aren't celebrating them anymore, but we're just kind of mentioning
- 32:51Speaker 1: them in memorial. Malcolm Jamal Warner would have been fifty
- 32:58Speaker 1: five today. He unfortunately drowned a couple of weeks ago.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Couldn't have you know, couldn't have happened to Cosby, couldn't
- 33:09Speaker 1: let him go on a prison swim or anything. Instead,
- 33:14Speaker 1: THEO gets it, so unfortunate, but happy, happy.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You're trying to save his son. Was he trying to
- 33:22Speaker 2: save his son?
- 33:23Speaker 5: Is not?
- 33:23Speaker 1: What was that was an initial story I think was
- 33:25Speaker 1: his daughter, but then they said it wasn't related to that.
- 33:27Speaker 1: He just got pulled into a really nasty rip current
- 33:30Speaker 1: and couldn't get out. Okay, So yeah, so Malcolm Jamal
- 33:35Speaker 1: Warner would have been fifty five today, but that didn't
- 33:40Speaker 1: quite happen. And another in memoriam birthday, And I still
- 33:44Speaker 1: remember where I was for this one because this one
- 33:46Speaker 1: was really surprising. Back in two thousand and nine, Patrick
- 33:50Speaker 1: Swayze died and today is his birthday. Why are you
- 33:56Speaker 1: making that face, Tray, Why do you think that was
- 33:59Speaker 1: a surprise because at the time, I don't remember knowing
- 34:03Speaker 1: he had cancer.
- 34:04Speaker 3: He had pancreatic cancer.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, I guess we did know that.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Yeah, he had had multiple surgeries, and I mean he
- 34:10Speaker 3: had made it longer than like he was in the
- 34:14Speaker 3: top one percentile of survival rates, because I think he
- 34:17Speaker 3: had made it like four years.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Yeah, but I think they just released his picture of
- 34:22Speaker 5: what he was like on the couch or whatever, and
- 34:24Speaker 5: he with no hair and real skinny and gaunt and
- 34:27Speaker 5: all that and it doesn't even look anything like he
- 34:30Speaker 5: used to look like.
- 34:31Speaker 2: So that was that's a sad one right there.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess I guess I had forgotten that, that
- 34:38Speaker 1: we knew that in advance. I mean, my brain obviously
- 34:41Speaker 1: plays tricks on me all the time. So but I
- 34:44Speaker 1: do remember when the news came out, it's like, okay,
- 34:46Speaker 1: Patrick Swayze died, and again that was two thousand and nine.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I was on the air. I was on the air
- 34:52Speaker 1: at one o five three the fan with my old
- 34:54Speaker 1: Palean Salisbury as he was a scream replying to the
- 35:00Speaker 1: text thing for people saying he suck. Patrick Swayze passed
- 35:05Speaker 1: away in two thousand and nine, And was it.
- 35:08Speaker 3: The same day.
- 35:11Speaker 1: As Patrick Swayzee, or maybe it was Michael Jackson's death,
- 35:14Speaker 1: which was also two thousand and nine that Farah Fawcett
- 35:18Speaker 1: passed away from Anald Michael Jackson.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that was Michael Jackson.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Yeah, she like literally probably within an hour hour and
- 35:25Speaker 3: a half of her death, and they Michael Jackson, they
- 35:28Speaker 3: started the other reports of and everyone kind of forgot
- 35:32Speaker 3: about her death, right.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 1: So anyway, a couple of in memoriam birthdays today now
- 35:37Speaker 1: let's go to the living folk. Andy Samberg is forty
- 35:41Speaker 1: seven today from Brooklyn nine nine Saturday Night Live The
- 35:45Speaker 1: Lonely Island, which, by the way, if you have never
- 35:49Speaker 1: played the Lonely Island hit I'm on a Boat while
- 35:52Speaker 1: you're on a boat, then you haven't lived. If for
- 35:56Speaker 1: no other reason just to see the captain and crew
- 36:00Speaker 1: react to it, I did that for my fortieth It
- 36:03Speaker 1: was great. Charter a boat, go to the British Virgin Islands,
- 36:11Speaker 1: celebrate the fortieth birthday in international waters, and the first
- 36:14Speaker 1: song we play is I'm on a Boat. I didn't
- 36:18Speaker 1: realize though, that the captain and first mate were father
- 36:22Speaker 1: and daughter. Oh gosh, look, And I told him we're
- 36:26Speaker 1: not that crazy. I just wanted to do it, and
- 36:28Speaker 1: they're like, no, it's cool, Like all right.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Anyway, I would never have guessed he was that old.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Yea, yeah, yeah, forty seven. Yeah, it does look really
- 36:39Speaker 1: really good. Caitlyn Olsen is fifty today. Caitlyn Olsen is fifty.
- 36:44Speaker 1: SE's Sweet da On It's always Sonny in Philadelphia, Mickey
- 36:48Speaker 1: on the Fox series The Mick, and of course that
- 36:50Speaker 1: has her married to Rob mclahinney. So Caitlyn Olsen fifty
- 36:56Speaker 1: years old today, and I don't think any relation to
- 36:59Speaker 1: the Olsen and the other Olsen's. I believe Edward Norton
- 37:05Speaker 1: is fifty six today. Edward Norton is fifty six. People
- 37:09Speaker 1: forget that he was a Hulk at one point.
- 37:13Speaker 5: Yeah, and the reason he's not anymore is because he's
- 37:15Speaker 5: so hard to work with and he's not a nice person.
- 37:18Speaker 1: So good job you managed to piss off an entire
- 37:22Speaker 1: movie studio. And he had it made. Man, he had
- 37:26Speaker 1: it made, he would have been the He'd still be
- 37:30Speaker 1: the Hulk today if he wasn't a big green jerk.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I guess. I know. Again goes to the name dropping thing.
- 37:37Speaker 5: But I was at the Roosevelt Hotel one time, I mean,
- 37:39Speaker 5: nobuddy mine for lunch and they were having auditions for
- 37:41Speaker 5: whatever movie he was I don't know what, but that's
- 37:43Speaker 5: where I met Scott conn And because here's how I
- 37:46Speaker 5: met him. He throws open the door and he goes,
- 37:49Speaker 5: I can't work with this a hole, and there's Edward
- 37:51Speaker 5: Norton sitting in a chair, and so he came to
- 38:00Speaker 5: the bar immediately started drinking.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, we'll be friends, we'll chat it up, and.
- 38:05Speaker 1: That pretty much is verified. I mean, it's like he
- 38:09Speaker 1: would be in the Avengers movies. But the long held
- 38:13Speaker 1: rumor that has pretty much just been verified is that
- 38:15Speaker 1: he was just difficult to work with. Yeah, Christian Slater
- 38:21Speaker 1: is fifty six years old today. He, I guess lately,
- 38:26Speaker 1: is best known as Edward Alderson on the show Mister Robot.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Then he had kind of a dark period of not
- 38:32Speaker 1: a whole lot going on before that, which prior to that,
- 38:39Speaker 1: he was having a hell of a career.
- 38:41Speaker 2: But wasn't a domestic violence thing that happens.
- 38:44Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I just think his.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Career just hit a bit of a lull, and it
- 38:48Speaker 1: probably didn't help that he was in Kevin Costner's Robin
- 38:53Speaker 1: Hood movie.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Well, I think he was like all the the late eighties,
- 39:00Speaker 3: you know that group, the i'll call it the brat
- 39:03Speaker 3: Pack for about it, lack of a better word, all
- 39:05Speaker 3: their creators kind of took a lull. But I always
- 39:07Speaker 3: loved to it. Cuffs is a stupid, but it's it's
- 39:11Speaker 3: a I love that movie.
- 39:12Speaker 1: That is that is that is an all time favorite
- 39:14Speaker 1: for me. I don't I don't think it's necessarily on
- 39:16Speaker 1: my top five or top ten movies of all time,
- 39:19Speaker 1: but that one that was that's look if I'm a
- 39:22Speaker 1: radio guy and I should say that Pump Up the
- 39:25Speaker 1: Volume is my favorite Christian Slater film, just for the
- 39:28Speaker 1: radio tie in. But the movie Cuffs is fantastic. It's hysterical,
- 39:32Speaker 1: it's touching, and it's hysterical.
- 39:35Speaker 3: If well, I'll tell you if you were if I
- 39:38Speaker 3: were to give a list of or think about a
- 39:40Speaker 3: list of movies where they break the fourth wall and
- 39:43Speaker 3: do it, well, that would be on a top ten list.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Absolutely. It's basically Deadpool number one, and then Cuffs would
- 39:51Speaker 1: be in there. But uh, raj, have you heard of
- 39:53Speaker 1: the movie Cuffs starring Christian Slater.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I have not watch it. K U F F S.
- 39:58Speaker 4: Cuffs.
- 39:59Speaker 5: Yes, but he was charged with third degree sexual assault.
- 40:02Speaker 5: Oh it was later dropped because of lack of evidence.
- 40:05Speaker 5: But he drunk driving, drug possession, and multiple assault charges.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Whoop, yep, that's what. That's where that little lull happened.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that batt'll uh that'll do.
- 40:17Speaker 2: He was worn different cuffs. That's right.

- 41:06Speaker 1: the Treehouse. We were just talking about Christian Slater's fifty
- 41:09Speaker 1: sixth birthday and wondering where that lull came in his
- 41:13Speaker 1: career and why there was a lull, and Raj is
- 41:16Speaker 1: digging up the rap sheet on mister Slater and discovering
- 41:20Speaker 1: we think we found the cause of the lull.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, he's kind of my spirit animal.
- 41:26Speaker 5: Nineteen eighty nine arrested for drug driving and leading police
- 41:29Speaker 5: on a car chase followed by kicking an arresting officer.
- 41:32Speaker 5: Oh nineteen ninety four, arrested for attemption to board of
- 41:35Speaker 5: playing with a loaded gun.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Nineteen ninety seven arrested.
- 41:39Speaker 5: Up for an altercational party were altercation at a party
- 41:42Speaker 5: where he allegedly bit a man and then attacked police officers.
- 41:47Speaker 5: And then nineteen ninety seven it was under the influence
- 41:50Speaker 5: of alcohol, heroin and cocaine he assaulted his girlfriend, bit
- 41:54Speaker 5: a man again and then attacked police officers.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I had no idea Christian Slater was such a apparently,
- 42:01Speaker 1: so no wonder he had such a dark spot in
- 42:05Speaker 1: his career. Everyone's like, well, you know, he's a bier. Okay, well,
- 42:07Speaker 1: let's just go with somebody else. Then, let's just get
- 42:09Speaker 1: one of the Phoenixes.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Let's get Tom Cruise. We'll go with Cruise and Cruise
- 42:13Speaker 2: doesn't bite.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like, you know, we just came off of working
- 42:16Speaker 1: with Ed Norton, who's a huge jerk. We can't have
- 42:18Speaker 1: a bier in here too.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Sorry, Yeah, he likes to bite people, apparently.
- 42:24Speaker 1: I wonder if Hollywood casting agents have certain notes on
- 42:26Speaker 1: certain actors like that, like the stuff that's not on
- 42:29Speaker 1: the resume, it's the other things, you know. It's like, okay,
- 42:34Speaker 1: Christian Slater really good looking, pretty talented, but he's a
- 42:37Speaker 1: bit Ooh okay, I don't.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Know, but this one, this one is my favorite though.
- 42:41Speaker 5: In two thousand and four, he was reportedly kicked out
- 42:45Speaker 5: of a London strip club for refusing to take off

- 42:49Speaker 2: Sorry he was wearing to just walked into a strip
- 42:54Speaker 2: club with a Richard Nixon mask.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Do you know what though, considering his storied history, at
- 43:04Speaker 1: least he didn't bite any of the dancers. But see,
- 43:07Speaker 1: maybe that's why he had the mask.
- 43:11Speaker 2: You can't bite through the mask, that's right.
- 43:13Speaker 3: No, this is where you know, we celebrated Heath Ledger
- 43:16Speaker 3: as this great actor, but you know he was so
- 43:17Speaker 3: dark after The Joker. Clearly Christian Slater just got really
- 43:21Speaker 3: into the role. He had an interview with a vampire
- 43:23Speaker 3: and just couldn't shake it.
