- 0:51Speaker 1: He is, there's.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Dayel no Evil, so escape his site.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Apparently he popped out again, so hopefully hopefully it joins
- 1:04Speaker 1: us again.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So yeah, and you gotta put your sunglasses back on
- 1:06Speaker 2: the computer. Didn't understand what was going on.
- 1:10Speaker 1: It's the AI, it's keeping him away, that's right.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, well why we're waiting for him? How was your week?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Pretty good? Pretty good? I had to do some minor
- 1:23Speaker 1: car repairs. My power window motor went out, and yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and it went out as I was driving to work,
- 1:31Speaker 1: so literally all day on Friday my car window was
- 1:35Speaker 1: down the entire day. I had to leave it in
- 1:38Speaker 1: the parking lot like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Fortunately I
- 1:45Speaker 1: worked very close to a police station, so I knew
- 1:47Speaker 1: that one would bother my car, and it was. It
- 1:50Speaker 1: was a sunny, warm day, so it wasn't the worst.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You know, it was like snowing or anything. So yeah, yeah,
- 1:57Speaker 1: so like if it had to happen, that's a good
- 2:00Speaker 1: day for it to happen. Right, Oh, here we go.
- 2:03Speaker 1: There's Dan.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Oh you're muted right now? Let me there is can
- 2:09Speaker 1: hear us?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yes?
- 2:11Speaker 2: All right, there is?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yay, Hey he's back.
- 2:15Speaker 2: No evil shall escape his site.
- 2:17Speaker 3: No, no evil shall escape my siteh Dan. I'm exhausted, Yeah, exhausted.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I did not full disclosure, I did not see Mandalorian
- 2:30Speaker 3: and Grobukay.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Have you ever seen an episode of the Mandalorian? I have, Yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 2: you've seen it.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah. Either way, I'm not I'm not going to sit
- 2:40Speaker 3: through the review. I would still like to see the movie.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So I came. I came to do the intro, the
- 2:49Speaker 3: witty banter and the news with you guys, and then
- 2:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna go get a cup of coffee because I
- 2:55Speaker 3: worked nineteen hours yesterday and I'm exhausted.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Also, if you saw the Clone Wars, the the movie
- 3:08Speaker 2: that came out before the the series. Then you've seen
- 3:14Speaker 2: the Mandolinnian grog Yeah, yes.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe I'm not gonna go see it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I mean maybe it was after working nineteen hours. You
- 3:26Speaker 1: may fall asleep during it, right.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I tell you what. I was on the throughway coming
- 3:30Speaker 3: home last night and I had to pull over and
- 3:31Speaker 3: take a nap on the.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Side of the road because I've had to do that when.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I felt the the second time the Rumble strip. Uh yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 3: you know yeah, Scott knows yeah, yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Oh man and Scottscott is uh his grogu hat.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yep, I got my grogu hat.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Get on.
- 3:55Speaker 2: So fun story about this and got it. I don't
- 3:57Speaker 2: want Disney to come after me. But this is not
- 4:00Speaker 2: officially licensed either Lucasfilm or Disney.
- 4:03Speaker 1: It's a knockoff.
- 4:05Speaker 2: So do you guys remember when The Mandalorian first came out.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It came out like there was this thing where they
- 4:12Speaker 2: didn't have enough time to do toys for Christmas because
- 4:14Speaker 2: they didn't want to ruin grogu right.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, So there was saying it was nineteen seventy
- 4:21Speaker 3: seven all over again. They mid right, you paid the
- 4:23Speaker 3: money and they mailed you an empty box. Yeah, something
- 4:26Speaker 3: like that ticket to redeem twelve months later. Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So this this is a this is a knockoff that
- 4:31Speaker 2: I got as a Christmas present that Christmas. Oh nice, Yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 2: for my sister in law.
- 4:37Speaker 1: So oh that's cool.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, so that's sorry.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I mean, this is not from OA.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's not okay, yeah, yeah, does spaceports have a treaty
- 4:48Speaker 1: with right now or oh? Okay, okay, sorry.
- 4:53Speaker 3: It's a source subject. That's right, there's some there's some
- 4:57Speaker 3: jurisdictional issues.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I can see that. Yeah. Who is the Truesday's Cops.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you got your jurisdiction. Man, it's like every cop movie.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Oh man, Well, should we get to the news. There's
- 5:15Speaker 1: quite a bit of it, So.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Ye'll do it, okay, Star Trek News.
- 5:22Speaker 1: All right, So our first news story comes to us
- 5:24Speaker 1: from the website Red Shirts Always Die, which is an
- 5:28Speaker 1: unfortunate name for this story. Apparently we we have to
- 5:34Speaker 1: say this just happened overnight, the passing of d S
- 5:37Speaker 1: nine actress Kelly Lee Curtis. She's the sister of Jamie
- 5:41Speaker 1: Lee Curtis. She passed away recently. Apparently she was surrounded
- 5:46Speaker 1: by family. She passed away, and you might remember her.
- 5:51Speaker 1: She was on like I said, on d S nine,
- 5:55Speaker 1: let me show you who the character she played, hold
- 5:59Speaker 1: on it's she was in the first season. She was
- 6:04Speaker 1: one of the Quirk's assistants. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know
- 6:15Speaker 1: if you guys remember this character. I honestly don't. Force Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's just the first season. She's like but hot, yeah
- 6:25Speaker 1: kind of, I guess I don't. I don't remember her
- 6:28Speaker 1: at all.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Yeah, apparently, you know, there were so many there was
- 6:33Speaker 3: so many one off, uh guest stars over over the
- 6:36Speaker 3: years and girls and yeah yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So but but Jamie Lee Curtis did a big write
- 6:43Speaker 1: up on her Instagram about her sister and so very
- 6:48Speaker 1: you know, it sounds like it was a peaceful passing.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But yeah, it happened. So yeah, so that that just happened.
- 6:55Speaker 1: The news came out today, so I figured i'd mentioned
- 6:58Speaker 1: that all right her and shift to other stories. So recently,
- 7:04Speaker 1: the website polygon dot com did an interview with the
- 7:08Speaker 1: producers of Strange New Worlds. They got a lot of news,
- 7:16Speaker 1: including so they gave a lot of weird tidbits. So
- 7:19Speaker 1: one of the things they brought up was that there
- 7:22Speaker 1: is no big bad for the season four so you like,
- 7:28Speaker 1: you know, before we had the Gorn and they were
- 7:29Speaker 1: the thread over over the season.
- 7:31Speaker 3: So they're they're doing Star Trek.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yes, it'll just be episodes, Yes, just Star Trek.
- 7:38Speaker 3: I mean we could try it.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll see, we'll see how Yeah, we'll see how
- 7:43Speaker 1: that works. Yeah, right, or something or the Romulan Zoo. Yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Uh.
- 7:50Speaker 1: They also did say we we now know what causes
- 7:54Speaker 1: the puppet episode. They they let that slip for some reason.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Apparently it's a horrible transporter malfunction. Yeah, yeah, that's that's
- 8:07Speaker 1: the reasoning behind it. And then another thing they let slip,
- 8:12Speaker 1: which I thought was pretty interesting. They had originally planned
- 8:15Speaker 1: to bring in William Shatner, and they even told us
- 8:20Speaker 1: what they planned for him to do. He would have
- 8:22Speaker 1: played a version of Kirk that stayed in the depression
- 8:26Speaker 1: era of New York with Edith Keeler.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, interesting.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah, he would have been a soup kitchen operator and
- 8:35Speaker 1: it would have been like a sequel to the City
- 8:37Speaker 1: of the Edge on the Edge of Forever.
- 8:39Speaker 3: But instead we're getting puppets.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Instead, we're getting puppets, And well, they couldn't get it
- 8:45Speaker 1: to work with William Shatner. To to get him on there.
- 8:49Speaker 2: He's a busy guy. He's doing rock albums.
- 8:52Speaker 1: And for being one hundred and thirty five years old,
- 8:55Speaker 1: that guy is just everywhere.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Man. You know, I don't know if if everything I
- 9:01Speaker 3: have in the world came came out of this thing
- 9:06Speaker 3: called star Trek, which is the case for him, right,
- 9:09Speaker 3: there's no t J. Hooker conventions, there's no boss. Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 3: If you know, if I'm in the if I'm in
- 9:21Speaker 3: the back end of my life and and that thing
- 9:25Speaker 3: comes calling, mm hmm, I don't know. I feel like
- 9:28Speaker 3: I would drop whatever I'm doing and make it happen.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, if it was anybody other than William Shatner. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:38Speaker 2: Bill's Bill. Bill is Bill.
- 9:41Speaker 1: That's right, That's that's a nice way to say it.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Bill is Bill. Yeah. So, but I don't know, like,
- 9:51Speaker 1: would you want to see that episode?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Sure?
- 9:55Speaker 1: Okay, you like that idea?
- 9:56Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, all right, it'd be iconic.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And then he turns into a puppet.
- 10:05Speaker 3: How are they going to do that transporter accident that
- 10:07Speaker 3: turns them into I mean they have such an easy Yeah,
- 10:13Speaker 3: I don't know, you have another Trallain.
- 10:15Speaker 2: The compensators stop.
- 10:19Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 10:22Speaker 3: No, I feel like the only plausible way to do
- 10:26Speaker 3: something like that is you have another episode with Trallain
- 10:31Speaker 3: and or Q Yeah yeah, and and Pike. Pike gets
- 10:37Speaker 3: angry and yells at them and says something like you
- 10:39Speaker 3: can't like like they're putting Yes, yes, we're not puppets,
- 10:44Speaker 3: We're not you play things.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yes, oh really?
- 10:47Speaker 3: And you know the next forty minutes they're literally puppets.
- 10:53Speaker 3: That was I yeah, I know, I know, I knew
- 10:58Speaker 3: what I came up with it like literally at the
- 11:00Speaker 3: same time.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, as you're like half asleep.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yes, I'm moving to Hollywood.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah, no kidding.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Or Canada. I don't know, they should have been Canada.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Where do they write him?
- 11:13Speaker 1: That's right, that's right, all right? And then our last yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 1: and then our last news story comes to us from Engadget.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw this, but it was
- 11:22Speaker 1: making the rounds online just for how bad it was.
- 11:25Speaker 1: But apparently Paramount Plus used AI to make a a
- 11:29Speaker 1: graphic for the Wrath of Khan. And that's the graphic
- 11:33Speaker 1: they made. It's just some dude with a like red
- 11:36Speaker 1: mark on his eye kind.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Of it's that's like kind of William Shatner. Yeah, Ai
- 11:42Speaker 3: William Shatner.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so bad.
- 11:46Speaker 3: And the other guy is.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Genesis, right, yeah, they just took a shot from the movie.
- 11:54Speaker 1: But yeah, it's just it's such a bad No, it's not.
- 11:58Speaker 3: No, it's not it's a shot from the next movie.
- 12:00Speaker 3: That guy is in search for Spock. Oh yeah, that's
- 12:05Speaker 3: that's the guy who McCoy is trying to get back
- 12:09Speaker 3: to the Genesis planet. He goes and he does a
- 12:12Speaker 3: and he goes to the most ely cantina and looks
- 12:15Speaker 3: for a star pilot, right, and Han Solo wasn't there,
- 12:20Speaker 3: So he got this guy who said Genesis, Genesis or whatever.
- 12:27Speaker 2: With ears like that.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, yes, yes, yeah, but I mean that tile
- 12:33Speaker 1: is for a search of Spot, but the Wrath of
- 12:35Speaker 1: con One is the one that's making the round.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize there's three different Yeah,
- 12:41Speaker 3: they're showing sir, showed tiles out of water, got it? Yeah,
- 12:46Speaker 3: get the longer you look at it the worst.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Right, that's right, it's so bad. So yeah, so a
- 12:54Speaker 1: lot of people are making fun of him for this.
- 12:56Speaker 1: So is that is.
- 12:58Speaker 3: That picture of Shatner from when he was on the
- 13:00Speaker 3: Six Million Dollar Man.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I'm just looking at the style of clothing and it
- 13:07Speaker 3: could be.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Worse.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah again, it just keeps getting worse.
- 13:14Speaker 1: So there you go. Yeah. So that that that's all
- 13:18Speaker 1: the news stories for today. Just insanity out there.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I have some Star Trek birthdays if I can.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, go for it.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So every once in a while I do Star Trek birthdays,
- 13:31Speaker 2: and there was some some some good ones here. Renee.
- 13:39Speaker 2: He was born in nineteen forty. Zachary Quinto June second,
- 13:44Speaker 2: Anthony Montgomery, Travis Mayweather from Enterprise, Carl Urban June fourth,
- 13:51Speaker 2: and Robert Lansing. He played Gary seven in the original
- 13:56Speaker 2: episode Assignment. Nice and those are your stuff? Our Trek birthdays?
- 14:01Speaker 1: Who are you? Yeah, there's the music, it's gone now.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah the birthdays?
- 14:09Speaker 4: Yeah yeah.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So all right, well should we get to our well,
- 14:16Speaker 1: anything else do you want to bring up Dan before
- 14:18Speaker 1: we go to the main topic, because.
- 14:21Speaker 3: That's a nice segue, like anything anything else you want
- 14:23Speaker 3: to talk about Dan? As you open the door and yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Well.
- 14:30Speaker 3: It's like at the end of the party where you know, yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 3: where you slap your knees and stand up and go well,
- 14:36Speaker 3: well and that's it. Everyone knows. Everyone knows.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'm so used to just moving it along.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I'm like, Okail, and I'm just waiting for you to leave.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Yeah fine, oh no, yeah, the movie next week.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I'm I'm so excited. Yeah, I'm so excited. I have
- 15:01Speaker 3: never purchased an overpriced souvenir popcorn bucket.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Are you getting one?
- 15:08Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know, I.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Don't know. I might.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I think I might want to. I think I might
- 15:19Speaker 3: want to drink mellow yellow out of a sword for
- 15:21Speaker 3: two hours.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Yes, I definitely want the sword, but for the tins,
- 15:27Speaker 1: like I like, I like the castle, I like the
- 15:31Speaker 1: big battle cat. But I always think about, like what
- 15:34Speaker 1: am I actually going to use in the future, And
- 15:37Speaker 1: they have like one that's actually just a tin big
- 15:40Speaker 1: round ten but it's like yeah, but but it's like
- 15:45Speaker 1: the designs are all cartoony. It's the new characters, but
- 15:48Speaker 1: cartoony style.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 1: And I don't know because I have Regal Cinemas over here,
- 15:53Speaker 1: so I don't know if they're getting that one. But
- 15:54Speaker 1: that's the one I want. Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Yeah, And then there's a plush version of the sword.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I think I think my daughter might like, Oh nice.
- 16:03Speaker 3: I don't know we'll see.
- 16:04Speaker 2: So when are we doing that show? Because I'm I'm
- 16:06Speaker 2: actually I'm not gonna be able to see it this weekend.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We're going vacation, but I'll see.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Come on, come on, come on, I know you need
- 16:14Speaker 3: to get your Priority street.
- 16:15Speaker 1: That's right. I already have my tickets for he Man.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Probably, I'm probably gonna buy him, Probably gonna buy him
- 16:21Speaker 3: this week.
- 16:21Speaker 2: There's some pretty cool theaters in Detroit, so we're gonna
- 16:24Speaker 2: we're gonna find one, and.
- 16:27Speaker 3: You're gonna go to Detroit.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to Yeah, right, Okay, I.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Got a ballistic vest if you want to borrow it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: You know, Detroit is not It's just like New York.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Isn't like the Horrible. You know, Detroit has changed a
- 16:41Speaker 2: lot in the last thirty years.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Hey, I got an interview pal New York's Horrible. New York.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It's not Chicago.
- 16:51Speaker 1: What is RoboCop cleaning up the streets of Detroit?
- 16:53Speaker 2: Is that what it is? It's funny you mentioned that
- 16:55Speaker 2: because there's eleven foot bronze statue that I know, yes,
- 16:58Speaker 2: that you're taking with.
- 17:01Speaker 3: You know, it's funny if you know the history on
- 17:02Speaker 3: that statue. It was like such a thing putting it
- 17:07Speaker 3: in because some people are like, you know, it's not appropriate,
- 17:11Speaker 3: and you know it doesn't doesn't it doesn't really reflect
- 17:14Speaker 3: the what we want to portray about the city. And
- 17:19Speaker 3: enough people are like, fuck you robo cops.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Cool, we're putting this.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I think that's what Black says on it.
- 17:36Speaker 3: H If I ever find myself in Detroit, I too
- 17:43Speaker 3: will be visiting the the RoboCop Fronts statue.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I would do absolutely. Yeah, yeah, it would be a
- 17:51Speaker 1: lot of fun.
- 17:52Speaker 2: I'll post a picture of it on the Facebook page.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 17:58Speaker 3: All right, guys, I'm gonna go have my morning coffee.
- 17:59Speaker 3: You guys, all right, yeah, review review this movie, and uh,
- 18:04Speaker 3: the worst part is I'll probably see it this afternoon.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I just couldn't make it happen.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Lovely.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, post your review online us.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I might and we'll see, we'll see. All right, all right, guys,
- 18:18Speaker 3: you guys.
- 18:20Speaker 1: But all right, let's keep to the main topic. Fun.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Well, now come out.
- 18:29Speaker 2: You know if we if we named shows like sub podcasts, yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 2: that would be the name of this podcast, if school.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Yes, all right, so we took a week off, but
- 18:44Speaker 1: now we're back and we're watching and we watched The
- 18:47Speaker 1: Mandalorian and grogu. It is the first Star Wars movie
- 18:51Speaker 1: in seven years. In the box office, a lot of
- 18:56Speaker 1: people were very excited about this movie, and a lot
- 18:59Speaker 1: of people were very just blob about this movie. The
- 19:04Speaker 1: reception has not been the best. It's actually one of
- 19:07Speaker 1: the lowest Star Wars movies box office revenues ever. I
- 19:15Speaker 1: looked up the box Office Mojo on it and as
- 19:18Speaker 1: it sits as of today, domestically, it has made one
- 19:22Speaker 1: hundred and eighteen million point eight million dollars, which is
- 19:27Speaker 1: very very low for a Star Wars movie. Worldwide, it
- 19:31Speaker 1: has yet to crack two hundred million, which is also
- 19:34Speaker 1: very very low for Star Wars. These are generally billion
- 19:38Speaker 1: dollar films. So it's it's pretty rough out there that
- 19:43Speaker 1: it's not doing the best.
- 19:48Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, I mean what, so what were your
- 19:51Speaker 2: impressions of the movie.
- 19:53Speaker 1: So I guess we should just say spoilers if you
- 19:56Speaker 1: have not watched this movie. We're probably going to get
- 19:58Speaker 1: into all sorts of things about it, as we discussed.
- 20:01Speaker 1: But this movie, to me, it's not that it was
- 20:07Speaker 1: a bad movie, and it's not that it's a great movie.
- 20:11Speaker 1: What I told Dan in our in our group chat.
- 20:13Speaker 1: It is aggressively just okay, yeah, like yeah it is.
- 20:20Speaker 1: It's it's fine. It's not offensive, it's not it's not
- 20:25Speaker 1: just horribly bad. It's just fine. The other thing. I
- 20:31Speaker 1: don't know for you, but as I watched it in
- 20:33Speaker 1: the theater, I literally could feel like, oh, that's one episode. Okay,
- 20:37Speaker 1: that's another episode. Oh okay, that's the break for the
- 20:40Speaker 1: next episode. Like and because the Mandalorian episodes are like
- 20:44Speaker 1: what twenty five to thirty minutes, it's like half a season.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It's so exactly how I felt. Yeah, that's exactly how
- 20:52Speaker 2: I felt. And then it took me up, Like it
- 20:55Speaker 2: took me a second to realize. I'm like, why does
- 20:57Speaker 2: this seem familiar? Yeah, they did this plot in in
- 21:03Speaker 2: in the in the Clone Wars movie.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah it was.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It was Joba the Huts Sun was kidnapped. In fact,
- 21:10Speaker 2: the image they used for job of the Huts Sun
- 21:14Speaker 2: in this movie was what he looked like back then. Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, if you ever wanted to see a hut just
- 21:21Speaker 1: jacked as hell, go watch this movie.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Man.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's something I did not need in my life.
- 21:29Speaker 2: But we got it crazy, and you know, he spoke
- 21:33Speaker 2: perfect English. That's right, perfect Federation standard.
- 21:39Speaker 1: That's right. That's right. Well, a few of the a
- 21:42Speaker 1: few of the huts spoke English.
- 21:44Speaker 2: They did, but it was they they did, but it
- 21:47Speaker 2: was very hut. They had a very thick hut accent.
- 21:52Speaker 1: That's right. That's right.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I'm not going to try to do it in person.
- 21:54Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, I'm I'm really surprised we did
- 21:59Speaker 1: not get Grogu's saying words, or at least, you.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Know, one word.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, that would have been I'm very surprised
- 22:07Speaker 1: by that.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Nice.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So Jazz is on roids. Yeah, yeah, he.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Was a right grogu in This is fifty four years old, right, right,
- 22:21Speaker 2: so yeah, it's it's time for him to at least
- 22:25Speaker 2: yeah yeaheah. I like the the little the other little
- 22:30Speaker 2: guys in the movie that.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the little mechanic guys.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, they're kind of cool.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I like them.
- 22:38Speaker 2: That.
- 22:38Speaker 1: That's the thing. Like I said, it's aggressively, Okay, it's
- 22:41Speaker 1: not bad, it's just.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I just yeah, I felt like I went to the
- 22:45Speaker 2: theater to see four episodes of the Mandalorians.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah, this will be a movie that like three or
- 22:51Speaker 1: four years from now, you'll be like, did I see
- 22:52Speaker 1: that one?
- 22:53Speaker 2: I don't, right, or you just think of a scene
- 22:56Speaker 2: and you'll be like was that in the movie or
- 22:58Speaker 2: was that this?
- 22:59Speaker 1: Is that on the show? Yeah? Yeah. The The other
- 23:04Speaker 1: thing is like they went and shot in real places,
- 23:08Speaker 1: like you can tell that they they they did their
- 23:10Speaker 1: best to up the production value, but it's.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Just yeah, yeah, the outdoors. I mean it was gorgeous
- 23:17Speaker 2: that the outdoor shots and uh he got the uh
- 23:20Speaker 2: he got the razorcrest back.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but a different one.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It's a different one. Yeah, yeah, And I I sort
- 23:28Speaker 2: of understand that because like the the the Naboo Starfighter
- 23:32Speaker 2: is really cool, but where are you gonna go to
- 23:35Speaker 2: the bathroom?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Well, where are you gonna put Jaba's son?
- 23:39Speaker 2: Where are you gonna put job? Yeah, there you go.
- 23:41Speaker 2: A bounty hunter by definition, needs to bring in bounties,
- 23:45Speaker 2: right right. Can't do that with a dupid Starfighter.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 1: You would have thought though, when they when they first
- 23:52Speaker 1: introduced that ship, they would have thought about that.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Right well, And a lot of people were pissed because,
- 23:57Speaker 2: like you know, the the Razorcress is kind of a
- 24:00Speaker 2: cool ship, and so you know, they made toys and stuff.
- 24:02Speaker 2: They went out and bottom and at the end of
- 24:04Speaker 2: what was at the end of season one, they did
- 24:06Speaker 2: destroyed it, and it's like, oh great, yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Season two I think, but still doesn't matter. Yeah, it's yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I'm really surprised we didn't see the neboot star Fighter
- 24:18Speaker 1: at all, like because at one point they go back
- 24:20Speaker 1: to his house and him and and and Groger were
- 24:23Speaker 1: just kind of there, like you could have just had
- 24:25Speaker 1: it perked just right there. Yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, you.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Know, I'd like to see it you get blown up.
- 24:36Speaker 1: That had been cool, but something something.
- 24:40Speaker 2: How much how much screen time do you think Pedro
- 24:44Speaker 2: Pascal actually had? Oh I was I was looking at IMDb.
- 24:48Speaker 2: There's three people that play the Mandalorian.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, John Wayne's grandson.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Brandon Wayne and yeah, Latif Crowder.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah. And from what I understand, John Wyn's grandson, Like,
- 25:04Speaker 1: if it's just standing around, that's him, the Latif guy
- 25:09Speaker 1: is if it's stunts, and then Pedro's when they take
- 25:12Speaker 1: that take off the helmet.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'm wondering if it's like his own. If Pedro Pascal
- 25:17Speaker 2: was only in the movie during the his capture scene.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Oh for sure. Yeah, that's the only time he was
- 25:23Speaker 1: on set. Yeah, I promise you that's the only time
- 25:26Speaker 1: he was on st Yeah. And then and then he's
- 25:29Speaker 1: spent like probably yeah, he's probably spent two or three
- 25:32Speaker 1: days in the soundbooth to record the lines, and that's it.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah, he's like, yeah, yeah, he's busy doing another
- 25:39Speaker 2: He's busy doing playing stretch in the in the Marvel.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Movies and whatever else he's doing.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Like yeah, because he's in every other project now.
- 25:49Speaker 1: He is. He is becoming that way, yes, ye, but yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 1: I don't know, man, Like this movie is gonna just
- 25:59Speaker 1: come and go. I think the real lot. Okay, so
- 26:04Speaker 1: a lot of people were saying that this is the
- 26:06Speaker 1: test for is Star Wars still a movie franchise. I
- 26:09Speaker 1: think the real test will be next year when the
- 26:12Speaker 1: Ryan Gosling like, is it like Star Starfighter or yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: they're doing they're doing some sort of like ace combat
- 26:22Speaker 1: Pilots X Wings. I think, yeah, yeah, some sort of
- 26:27Speaker 1: fighter pilot movie.
- 26:31Speaker 2: And this is the six year old in me, But
- 26:37Speaker 2: I want to see Lightsabers. Yeah, yeah, well I want
- 26:43Speaker 2: to see Lightsabers.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I read some reviews about this movie and and just
- 26:48Speaker 1: what other people were saying, because I kind of wanted to.
- 26:50Speaker 1: You know, I watched it when it came out, and
- 26:52Speaker 1: then I waited a week to kind of like read
- 26:54Speaker 1: other other thoughts. And one of the other thoughts I
- 26:57Speaker 1: read that I thought, you know, that's a really good
- 27:00Speaker 1: point is that there's hardly any acting in this movie
- 27:03Speaker 1: because the Mandalorian has got his mask. You don't see
- 27:07Speaker 1: his face, right. Everything else pretty much is puppets or
- 27:10Speaker 1: CGI characters, So there's no like real emoting, there's no
- 27:15Speaker 1: real connecting with anything. There's no like overall story, like
- 27:19Speaker 1: just things happen, and then.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Then then move on to yeah, yeah it was a mission.
- 27:25Speaker 1: And yeah, you like, the first forty five minutes of
- 27:29Speaker 1: the movie is like its own story, and then they
- 27:32Speaker 1: take a break, and then they go to the next
- 27:35Speaker 1: forty five minutes and then the last forty five minutes,
- 27:38Speaker 1: so a series of two parts.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Recovering was an episode.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Yeah, him recovering was an episode. Him going to that
- 27:46Speaker 1: snow world to get that guy. That's another episode. Like
- 27:51Speaker 1: it's just yeah, it's uh yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I did like, uh, I did like Rada's fighting style.
- 27:59Speaker 2: He was he was kind of a punchy a couple
- 28:02Speaker 2: of times and then roll punch.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Yeah, roll.
- 28:07Speaker 1: It was funny seeing the huts fight against each other.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it made me think about that lied from
- 28:14Speaker 2: Iron Man two where Rody says, you guys look like
- 28:17Speaker 2: two seals fighting over a grape.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, that sounds about right.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 1: What would you have wanted for this movie?
- 28:33Speaker 2: Light Sabers?
- 28:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:36Speaker 2: I don't know, like maybe, oh well I said that
- 28:41Speaker 2: in jest. But maybe maybe not a Sith but a
- 28:46Speaker 2: bad force wielding guy to get in his way.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Maybe that wouldn't have been bad, like a new completely villain.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Right, And and we know from the the Django Feed
- 29:00Speaker 2: Kenobi fight that you know, Jedi are not invincible against Mandalorians.
- 29:06Speaker 2: You know, it could have been a good you.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Know, he never even used the Dark Saber.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Wasn't the Dark Saber destroyed, wasn't it.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I think the Dark Saber. I think the Dark Saber
- 29:23Speaker 2: was crushed maybe and does he still have possession of it? See,
- 29:27Speaker 2: they all run together, and I.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Don't remember they all run together.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I don't know the Mandalorians in The Mandalorian. But he's
- 29:32Speaker 2: also in other shows, right, right, They had they had
- 29:38Speaker 2: episodes of the Book of Bubba Fett that didn't contain
- 29:41Speaker 2: Bubba Fett. All it contained was The Mandalorian.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Yeah, so, which I'm convinced those were episodes of The
- 29:48Speaker 1: Mandalorian and they just went, oh, the Poat show is
- 29:51Speaker 1: not doing well.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Just throw a man, right, Yeah, so what else would
- 29:56Speaker 2: I'd like to see? I was a little put off
- 30:02Speaker 2: by and I love Sigourney Weaver, I think I love Yeah. Yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 2: I was a little put off by her being a
- 30:08Speaker 2: fighter pilot. I'm like, yeah, are there a lot of
- 30:14Speaker 2: seventy year old fighter pilots out there?
- 30:16Speaker 1: I mean it's supposed to be there a weak army,
- 30:19Speaker 1: so yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 2: I guess, yeah, I guess if you're desperate for pilots.
- 30:23Speaker 2: It was sort of that's the.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Other thing, right, like like how many times does that
- 30:27Speaker 1: happen in the show, Like, Oh, we're in trouble here,
- 30:29Speaker 1: you come to the.
- 30:29Speaker 2: X Wings to save us, right, you know, yeah, like.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Again, we're doing the same move.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And it was cool to see the X Wings. I
- 30:37Speaker 2: mean that's you know, like.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It was yeah squadron, Yeah, who doesn't like the X Wings.
- 30:43Speaker 1: But but in the same manner, in the same way.
- 30:47Speaker 1: It's not like they were fighting tie fighters or anything else,
- 30:50Speaker 1: you know.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it would have been nice to see.
- 30:54Speaker 1: You didn't even get a tease of the first Order, right, like, oh,
- 30:57Speaker 1: there's there's a new when to to communicate and it's
- 31:02Speaker 1: the first Order or or or you know, we're working
- 31:05Speaker 1: on Priority one the first Order or something like some
- 31:09Speaker 1: sort of tease that like, oh, okay, this group eventually
- 31:12Speaker 1: becomes the first Order.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but I like seeing zeb that was cool.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he seems like a fun character.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I never watched Troubles, so yeah that's what I hear. Yeah,
- 31:31Speaker 1: nice to see Ah Soska even for a moment. Yeah,
- 31:36Speaker 1: you know it's a flashback or a flashback. You know,
- 31:41Speaker 1: you could have very easily when when he's hurt and
- 31:44Speaker 1: Grogu's got to handle everything, right, Like there's that scene
- 31:47Speaker 1: Grogu's meditating. You could have done and then he remembers
- 31:50Speaker 1: what Sooka told him. You know, you can't let fear
- 31:53Speaker 1: overcome you and you and you know things get hard
- 31:56Speaker 1: and you have to work on it and something, you know. Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 1: yeah that's all you needed.
- 32:02Speaker 2: That would have been so Apparently Grogu spent enough time
- 32:07Speaker 2: with Luke to learn force healing.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but not all the way.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Hell, but not all the.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Way, he'll Yeah, it's more like forest bandages, right yeah, yeah.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah, let me force suiture that for you. Yeah. Sorry,
- 32:26Speaker 2: I can't heal you all the way. I'm only a
- 32:27Speaker 2: first year force medical that's.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Right, that's right. I'm a force paramedic. I'm not a
- 32:32Speaker 1: forced doctor. Yeah. I just got your stable buddy.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean yeah, it was what it is.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Yeah. The more we talk about it, the more I'm like, yeah,
- 32:50Speaker 1: this movie sucks.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I mean yeah, it was okay, it was you know, yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 2: it's fine.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I mean.
- 32:59Speaker 2: I wanted to mention to uh a cool part the
- 33:02Speaker 2: Arena battle. I'm sure some of you have read this,
- 33:05Speaker 2: But the Arena Battle the reason why some of those
- 33:08Speaker 2: creatures look so familiar. That's that's the chess set from
- 33:13Speaker 2: the Millennium Falcon. It's the exact same set up. It's
- 33:16Speaker 2: the exact same creatures. One of the creatures even does
- 33:19Speaker 2: the signature move where he picks the other creature up
- 33:22Speaker 2: and throws him down. That's from the circle chest set
- 33:26Speaker 2: from the Millennium Falcon from episode four.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right for the season four of this show, right.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and that that that game has a name now
- 33:40Speaker 2: it's it's a match name of the game. Whatever match
- 33:44Speaker 2: they were doing to the death that match, that's what
- 33:46Speaker 2: the name of the Circle game is.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 2: So I thought that was a neat callback.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I One thing I did really like though, is they
- 33:56Speaker 1: had Martin Scorsese voice one of the characters. He's like
- 34:00Speaker 1: the little diner like food treck owner.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 1: So it's kind of cool that Martin Scorsese's in there.
- 34:06Speaker 1: It's kind of fun too, because he famously was kind
- 34:09Speaker 1: of ripping on Marvel movies. So the fact that he's
- 34:12Speaker 1: in another, you know, big box box office type movie,
- 34:16Speaker 1: it's kind of funny that he'sn't doing that. There's also, uh,
- 34:21Speaker 1: just came up on my YouTube. But John Favreau, the
- 34:25Speaker 1: director of this movie, he's very much likes to be
- 34:29Speaker 1: a chef. And they made an actual version of the
- 34:32Speaker 1: sandwich that you can make at home, the flat meat sandwich.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Oh okay yeah yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Basically it's spam. It's a spam sandwich, but sounds
- 34:44Speaker 1: good to me because it's flat. You got it, you know,
- 34:46Speaker 1: it's flat, So flat meat, flat flat meat. Yeah.
- 34:51Speaker 2: And just a little tip for all you spamovers out there,
- 34:54Speaker 2: use one of those wire cheese cutters to cut your spam.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, makes it perfectly, the one with the handle,
- 35:03Speaker 2: and it makes perfectly thick, thin slices of spam.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're making me want some spam. Been a
- 35:13Speaker 1: while since I've had something like you know, that doesn't
- 35:15Speaker 1: sound so bad.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I like it. I like it for breakfast. Sometimes
- 35:19Speaker 2: it makes spam sandwiches.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah mm hmm. There you go, There you go. I'll
- 35:25Speaker 1: send you the link to the to the recipe what
- 35:27Speaker 1: to do.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Yeah, do that? Do that?
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you can make some flat meat sandwiches.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Put put it on the put it on the Facebook group.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll put it in the Facebook group.
- 35:35Speaker 2: We'll post post some pictures if you make it.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. But yeah, man, I
- 35:45Speaker 1: mean the movie there's no end credit scene if you
- 35:48Speaker 1: go watch it, But if you haven't seen it by now, honestly,
- 35:52Speaker 1: just wait till Disney Plus. Yeah, it'll it'll be out there,
- 35:56Speaker 1: it'll and it won't be long. Yeah. Yeah, I kind
- 36:00Speaker 1: of think so too. They'll make more money off the
- 36:04Speaker 1: toys than anything. Sure.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just reading here that Jeremy Allen White, who
- 36:10Speaker 2: voiced Roda, who was never on the set. He recorded
- 36:14Speaker 2: his lines before filming began, and those were played back
- 36:17Speaker 2: for the actors. That sounds about right, sounds like he
- 36:20Speaker 2: literally phoned it in.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's funny. You know who he is, right,
- 36:28Speaker 1: Jeremy Allen White.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he's.
- 36:33Speaker 1: He's the guy from The Bear.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yep, yeah, I know. He looked familiar.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Yeah. I like that show, The Bear. They recently released
- 36:44Speaker 1: an episode it's called Gary. It was written by John
- 36:49Speaker 1: Berthall okay, and it's his character and Evan Ross moss
- 36:54Speaker 1: back Rat the two of them together, which is kind
- 36:57Speaker 1: of funny because Evan Ross is the thing now Mark.
- 37:01Speaker 1: So the entire time I'm watching it, I'm like, oh,
- 37:03Speaker 1: this is the Punisher and the thing just driving around,
- 37:06Speaker 1: screwing around and doing cocaine.
- 37:08Speaker 2: So that's yeah. Yeah, The Bear is on my list
- 37:12Speaker 2: of things to watch.
- 37:15Speaker 1: It is. It's a good show, but it is so stressful,
- 37:20Speaker 1: especially the first season.
- 37:21Speaker 2: It is.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It is like I watched it thinking, oh, this will
- 37:25Speaker 1: be fun, and literally I could feel myself tensing up.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Okay, one of those shows.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It's one of those yeah yeah, so, and it forces
- 37:36Speaker 1: you to pay attention to it. It's not it's not
- 37:39Speaker 1: something you can casually watch.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Did Jeric Match, That's what it was called, did Jeric?
- 37:47Speaker 1: Yeah. So I don't think we'll be getting any other
- 37:53Speaker 1: Mandalorian Grogus sequel. No, I don't even think we'll get
- 37:58Speaker 1: another season. I think the character is not just a
- 38:00Speaker 1: side character.
- 38:03Speaker 2: And whatever they got. Yeah. Yeah, Has there been any
- 38:06Speaker 2: announcement about another season?
- 38:08Speaker 1: No, Okay, they announce that they're doing Asoka season two,
- 38:14Speaker 1: so I'm sure he'll pop up in that.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I was right. The picture of Rada the
- 38:24Speaker 2: Twin show Mando is Rada as he appeared in the
- 38:26Speaker 2: Clone Wars, a cartoon version of them.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So but next week is the big movie?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Yep, yep.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Yeah, man, there's there's a there's a meme going around
- 38:46Speaker 1: that I saw that I thought was hilarious and it's
- 38:48Speaker 1: got he Man and it's got Supergirl okay, and it's
- 38:53Speaker 1: the two of them together and it says this summer two,
- 38:57Speaker 1: Blonde and Skirts will be saving us from the powers
- 38:59Speaker 1: of evil.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Well, I'm looking forward to Supergirl. That was my most
- 39:06Speaker 2: anticipated movie for the summer.
- 39:08Speaker 1: There you go, was it really?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeah? With Masters of the Universe a close close second.
- 39:13Speaker 1: So yeah, so.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess we're gonna do a show not this
- 39:19Speaker 2: coming week, so we'll skip a week again, right, okay,
- 39:22Speaker 2: Or we can do on a show next week. I
- 39:24Speaker 2: can do a show next week.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Oh you can. Okay.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I can't be able to watch.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Man in time.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I don't think I will be able to.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Oh, because that's the whole point is to watch the
- 39:35Speaker 1: Man and talk about it. Well, let me think, Okay.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Possibility, let me get back to you. Let me get
- 39:41Speaker 2: back all right, Like I said, we're yeah, we're literally
- 39:45Speaker 2: leaving for vacation, like after the show.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Okay, Well, all right, h listeners, viewers, whatever, whatever it is.
- 39:55Speaker 1: If it's next week or the week after, the next
- 39:57Speaker 1: episode will be he Man, he Man. Either way it'll
- 40:01Speaker 1: be yeah, so that'll be the case. But we'll let
- 40:06Speaker 1: you know. But we got Jazz with Standing online.
- 40:10Speaker 2: So I was just gonna ask, do we have any
- 40:11Speaker 2: listener feedback?
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we got listener feedback, So let's get to it.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Listener feedback, all right.
- 40:22Speaker 1: And before we bring them in, just to let you know,
- 40:24Speaker 1: if you ever want to join us, we have a
- 40:27Speaker 1: phone number. We can leave us a voicemail that's five
- 40:29Speaker 1: seven zero six six one zero zero zero one five
- 40:33Speaker 1: seven zero six six one zero zero zero one. We
- 40:37Speaker 1: would love to play your voicemails. It's been a while,
- 40:39Speaker 1: so please send us some voicemails. And then of course
- 40:42Speaker 1: we are on social media all over the place as
- 40:46Speaker 1: trek cast TNG, so yeah, you can interact with us.
- 40:50Speaker 1: We are now to over twenty thousand followers on the
- 40:53Speaker 1: Instagram account. It's kind of hey. Yeah, the Facebook group
- 40:58Speaker 1: is growing as well, so yeah, yeah, come join the fun.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And then uh yeah, I just we were talking about
- 41:05Speaker 2: that yesterday, being part of like the Facebook group and
- 41:08Speaker 2: stuff like that. Oh, I actually went to Trekkers not
- 41:12Speaker 2: Cho average restaurant again. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so
- 41:17Speaker 2: great guys over there. If you're anywhere in the southwest Michigan.
- 41:21Speaker 2: It's it's a cool, little niche kind of you know,
- 41:25Speaker 2: sci fi themed kind of restaurant that serves amazingos so
- 41:31Speaker 2: and and dirty sodas. My wife had a dirty soda
- 41:34Speaker 2: and I had some nice We were just on our
- 41:36Speaker 2: way home, figure we stop it and uh.
- 41:38Speaker 1: For whatever reason, for whatever reason that makes me think
- 41:42Speaker 1: about what happened to me this week is I was
- 41:45Speaker 1: recommended this place to go to, and uh so I
- 41:48Speaker 1: went and have you ever, Like people will tell you, oh,
- 41:52Speaker 1: you should go try this place, and you go and
- 41:54Speaker 1: it's terrible, Like it's just it's not good, and like
- 41:59Speaker 1: to the wint that you feel like were they pranking me?
- 42:03Speaker 1: Were they trying to get Yeah, it's like that bad
- 42:07Speaker 1: that happened to you, that happened to me. I don't
- 42:10Speaker 1: want to say the name of this place because it's
- 42:12Speaker 1: a local spot, but it was bad. It was really bad.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Like I like, I'm going to see this person out
- 42:21Speaker 1: on Monday at work and I'm I'm gonna ask, were
- 42:24Speaker 1: you pranking me?
- 42:26Speaker 2: You're gonna call about Well, yeah, not the case with
- 42:30Speaker 2: the trek y.
- 42:31Speaker 1: No, I'm sure they're great this place. We'm all very bad.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I literally watched the guy. I literally watched the
- 42:39Speaker 2: guy make my chips.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Oh that's cool. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah that's much better
- 42:46Speaker 1: than what I had. Yeah, all right, well here's jansmits
- 42:50Speaker 1: there is in the Celestials, that's right. So would you
- 42:57Speaker 1: think of the Mandalorian Grogu.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Liked.
- 43:00Speaker 6: I went in there with the loads of expectations. So yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 6: I was like this, you know, and it's not the
- 43:07Speaker 6: other Star Wars. It's just a side story.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, yeah, it's fine, it's not Yeah.
- 43:14Speaker 6: Should have been a Disney movie probably, yes, you.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Know, yeah, you know, it should have been a streaming movie, yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Or just a season, like a half season.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 6: Well, to me, that like Disney's lost right now with
- 43:30Speaker 6: Star Wars that.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Don't know what to do, they don't know what to
- 43:32Speaker 2: do with it.
- 43:33Speaker 1: You know a lot of people on line are saying
- 43:35Speaker 1: that Star Wars and Star Trek are in very similar
- 43:38Speaker 1: places right now.
- 43:39Speaker 6: Yes, yes, we're even Marvel at the moment.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Yeah, well Marvel, I things got a little bit more
- 43:46Speaker 1: going for it because like some of the shows have
- 43:48Speaker 1: been pretty good, like wonder Man was good.
- 43:51Speaker 6: I have seen some of the movies, that's the thing.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Yeah, like Thunderbolts was actually a really good movie. Yeah,
- 43:59Speaker 1: Like Marvel's a little bit better off, I think.
- 44:02Speaker 2: But see that movie about the Iron Man type. I'm
- 44:06Speaker 2: sorry the show that Disney put out with the girl
- 44:10Speaker 2: that made.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Iron hert yeah iron Heart Yeah yeah.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Halfway through the season and I'm like.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it, Like
- 44:19Speaker 1: I thought it was fine.
- 44:20Speaker 6: What about the Nick Fury Show? That was awful?
- 44:22Speaker 1: Oh that was bad? That was really bad. I kept
- 44:25Speaker 1: waiting for it to get good. I'm watching The Spider
- 44:28Speaker 1: War right now.
- 44:30Speaker 6: I heard that. I actually hear that's good.
- 44:32Speaker 1: So yeah, it's it's really good. It's on Prime.
- 44:37Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not all that Disney.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah, this.
- 44:44Speaker 6: Nicholas, that's what Nicholas. Yeah, you Spider Verse Mavie.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's not Oh I thought that was a
- 44:51Speaker 2: movie coming out.
- 44:52Speaker 1: No, no, no, it's a show. It's it's watch it on Prime. Yeah.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I think it's episode I want I've been watching one
- 45:00Speaker 1: episode of Day. I don't want to like, I don't
- 45:02Speaker 1: want to just burrow through it. I want to take
- 45:05Speaker 1: with it.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that's pretty good. Which one was the Nick
- 45:09Speaker 2: Fury Show?
- 45:11Speaker 1: Oh, Secret Invasion?
- 45:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, that's the one where they they killed
- 45:16Speaker 2: off Agent. How I meant your mother? Yeah?
- 45:21Speaker 1: Agent?
- 45:23Speaker 2: Yeah a Robin spoiler alert if you haven't seen, which
- 45:30Speaker 2: I was pissed about.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 6: And by the way, she's not your mother.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Added horribly. You know, you know, the the the main
- 45:45Speaker 2: topic is is not that great. When we're talking about
- 45:49Speaker 2: how I Bet your mother.
- 45:51Speaker 1: It's pretty rough. I'm sure we will not shut up
- 45:54Speaker 1: about he man though. No bad we will not show about.
- 45:58Speaker 6: Man like like Star Wars was huge, right.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Star Wars was the hugest like it.
- 46:06Speaker 6: Was state of the art sound, state of the art graphics, everything,
- 46:11Speaker 6: uh huh. And nobody's talking about any of the special effects,
- 46:17Speaker 6: any of the fights, any of the you know, cool
- 46:19Speaker 6: sounds anything really, yeah.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Because none of it is groundbreaking. That was the thing
- 46:24Speaker 1: he man, uh star Trek Star Wars was was groundbreaking
- 46:28Speaker 1: at its time. It's not now. Yeah, it's it's all
- 46:31Speaker 1: pretty basic stuff. I mean, it's very impressive what they
- 46:34Speaker 1: do with the with grogu like how they can get
- 46:38Speaker 1: that little puppet and.
- 46:41Speaker 6: That was my favorite parts is you know the Grogo part,
- 46:45Speaker 6: and then I like the how they're the two giant
- 46:49Speaker 6: robots that regarding.
- 46:50Speaker 1: That, yeah, that that may have been the best thing
- 46:53Speaker 1: because they they got they got some company to do
- 46:57Speaker 1: actual stop motion for those role that.
- 47:00Speaker 6: Did the Empire and all that.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah, like that's cool.
- 47:04Speaker 6: You know, you know is Phil Tippett it says.
- 47:09Speaker 1: His name, I forget his name, but yeah, that was
- 47:12Speaker 1: a really neat thing that they did. But it doesn't
- 47:15Speaker 1: save the movie.
- 47:17Speaker 6: No, no, And you know, I give him this. The
- 47:20Speaker 6: Hut planet actually looked pretty cool.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah. The thing is, dude, like that movie that that
- 47:25Speaker 1: Mandola and Grugu, I think I think they'll basically break
- 47:29Speaker 1: even with it. We're close to it. You know, it's
- 47:33Speaker 1: not going to be a disaster for them because they
- 47:35Speaker 1: didn't send as much to do it.
- 47:36Speaker 6: U and the back rooms. Right now, like it's it's
- 47:39Speaker 6: doing more and I think it's in third place at
- 47:42Speaker 6: the moment this weekend.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I don't I don't know where it's at, but it's
- 47:45Speaker 1: it's doing well. That one movie Obsession that was made
- 47:48Speaker 1: for less than a million dollars is doing great.
- 47:51Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe less than a million dollars. And it's just
- 47:55Speaker 6: banking right now.
- 47:56Speaker 1: That's that's the thing, like the Blumhouse model of like
- 48:00Speaker 1: we spend less than five million dollars and you know
- 48:03Speaker 1: they're not all winners. Yeah, they're not all winners, but
- 48:06Speaker 1: the ones that are winners pay for the ones that
- 48:07Speaker 1: were losers. You know that that seems to be the
- 48:12Speaker 1: path going forward. Yeah, and you can do a lot
- 48:15Speaker 1: with five million.
- 48:16Speaker 6: Yeah, and on horror movies, so yeah, people will go
- 48:20Speaker 6: see some of the worst horror movies I've ever seen
- 48:23Speaker 6: in my life, and like something that's actually fantastic.
- 48:27Speaker 1: So oh yeah, I mean I love terrible horror movies.
- 48:30Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, yeah, I've got back to.
- 48:36Speaker 2: It's just like my wife.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Oh no, really, she watched the shows.
- 48:41Speaker 2: You might, you might. I take these headphones off, I'm
- 48:46Speaker 2: gonna be in trouble. But speaking of low budget movies, we, uh,
- 48:51Speaker 2: my wife and I watched a movie last night on
- 48:53Speaker 2: Netflix called Remarkably Bright Creatures. Oh and it's without spoiling
- 49:02Speaker 2: too much, it's basically revolves around people Sally Fields in it,
- 49:08Speaker 2: Lewis Pullman, Bill Poman's son who was also in Thunderbolts
- 49:13Speaker 2: movieh century. Uh. But one of the reasons I mentioned
- 49:18Speaker 2: on this show is uh, cal Meeni also has a
- 49:22Speaker 2: rather large role in it. And uh yeah. So it's
- 49:29Speaker 2: basically a movie being told from the perspective of an octopus.
- 49:35Speaker 2: What that's this's this witnessing the lives of these characters
- 49:40Speaker 2: that get thrown together and how they intertwined and the.
- 49:46Speaker 6: Or something.
- 49:47Speaker 2: The the the octopus is voiced by the same guy
- 49:53Speaker 2: who played doc oc.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Oh Alfred Alfred.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Alfred mulleny. Yeah, that's the voice of the octopus.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Oh that's interesting. Once again, an eight arm creature.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, uh huh yeah yeah. So I mean, you know,
- 50:12Speaker 2: the Cassie director must have been like, it would it
- 50:15Speaker 2: be kind of cool if we got yeah yeah, and
- 50:19Speaker 2: then somebody must have just called him. He must have
- 50:21Speaker 2: been like, yeah, sure, why not?
- 50:24Speaker 1: Yeah, why not?
- 50:25Speaker 2: But huh, Sally Field is a national treasure. Her making
- 50:30Speaker 2: in this was phenomenal. I really really enjoyed it. Nice,
- 50:37Speaker 2: So yeah, check it out. Remarkably bright creatures.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I'll give a movie recommendation for people if you want
- 50:45Speaker 1: to see a very weird especially for our times nowadays.
- 50:48Speaker 1: There's a movie that came out in two thousand and
- 50:50Speaker 1: one called The Contenders Series seven. It's very obscure. You're
- 50:56Speaker 1: only gonna find it on YouTube. From what I can see,
- 50:59Speaker 1: somebody up did the movie. But basically it is a
- 51:03Speaker 1: a reality show where seven people get picked and they
- 51:07Speaker 1: have to kill each other and only the winner gets
- 51:10Speaker 1: to live, and they're just turned loose in cities they have.
- 51:16Speaker 1: It's like the most It's kind of like The Running
- 51:18Speaker 1: Man meets modern day reality shows. Yeah, well this was
- 51:24Speaker 1: This was made before all those kinds of before Hunger Games,
- 51:26Speaker 1: before Battle Royal, and it shot like a reality show.
- 51:31Speaker 1: So it's a ninety minute movie, so it's three episodes
- 51:35Speaker 1: of the show, so every like the beginning of every
- 51:38Speaker 1: like every thirty minutes it says coming up on the Contenders,
- 51:42Speaker 1: and it tells you a little bit about what you'll
- 51:44Speaker 1: be seeing in the next real Yeah. Yeah, it's it's
- 51:49Speaker 1: just really well done.
- 51:52Speaker 6: Yeah, seventies said.
- 51:55Speaker 1: The Contender is serious. Seven. It's on YouTube. It's the
- 51:58Speaker 1: only place you'll find it from what I can tell.
- 52:01Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, write that down.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's maybe I'll put the link up in
- 52:08Speaker 1: the Facebook group so people can watch it if they want.
- 52:10Speaker 1: It's just such a weird.
- 52:11Speaker 2: I'll tell you.
- 52:12Speaker 6: I'll tell you a movie that was actually good this year.
- 52:14Speaker 6: That was an indie movie. What's the Nirvana the Band
- 52:17Speaker 6: the movie?
- 52:18Speaker 3: Oh?
- 52:18Speaker 1: I heard that was good.
- 52:20Speaker 6: If you like back to the future. That what I'm saying.
- 52:25Speaker 6: If you see that movie, you'll laugh so hard.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really really what what's it called? Nirvana?
- 52:31Speaker 6: Nirvana the Band the Movie?
- 52:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to see that one. There was another
- 52:36Speaker 1: one too, with Sam Rockwell, like he's fighting AI or
- 52:42Speaker 1: going back in the past something like that. I forget
- 52:45Speaker 1: what it was called. Oh my gosh, but it looked
- 52:48Speaker 1: really good.
- 52:50Speaker 6: Yeah, actually like Nirvana better.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, okay.
- 52:56Speaker 6: One definitely rental It's good, but it's not as good
- 52:59Speaker 6: as the other.
- 53:00Speaker 1: So okay, Well, I mean the Reynolds now, so they're
- 53:04Speaker 1: out of the theaters.
- 53:04Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, they're all out there.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Yeah all right, Okay. Well, if we're giving movie recommendations
- 53:12Speaker 1: at this point where it's pretty much winding it down.
- 53:13Speaker 6: Sounds like we're having down a little bit and can
- 53:16Speaker 6: compete with the scary movie.
- 53:19Speaker 1: I don't. I think he Man's scary movie six. I
- 53:24Speaker 1: don't know, man, that's heart. So so he Man is
- 53:29Speaker 1: not tracking very well. I think it's like forty million
- 53:32Speaker 1: and and Scary Movie I think is like at fifty
- 53:36Speaker 1: or sixty. Yeah, either way, it's gonna be a big
- 53:40Speaker 1: weekend at the box office. They're both pretty decent sized movies.
- 53:44Speaker 1: But he Man is not tracking to do very well. Overall.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I have a feeling that he Man will be like
- 53:54Speaker 1: a sleeper hit were it may not yeah, or it
- 53:58Speaker 1: may not be like Giants, but just it'll it'll have
- 54:01Speaker 1: stayin power for a little bit.
- 54:02Speaker 2: I think you're right, because I think if it's a
- 54:04Speaker 2: good movie, I think the word of mouth is gonna.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of what I think is gonna happen
- 54:10Speaker 1: to it. You know.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Uh.
- 54:12Speaker 1: The problem it's going to have is that from this
- 54:15Speaker 1: point on, it's the blockbuster season, so every week is
- 54:19Speaker 1: another big movie basically, right, you know it's.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Not gonna be able to stay number one for multiple
- 54:24Speaker 2: yek yeah or.
- 54:25Speaker 1: Just a because you know, yeah, yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 6: Is January February mark like nothing's like it's.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Yes, but like six weeks from now or whatever it is,
- 54:39Speaker 1: eight weeks from now when Spider Man comes out, you know,
- 54:43Speaker 1: you're not gonna have he Man in theater no matter
- 54:45Speaker 1: how well it's doing. You know, they're gonna need like yeah, maybe,
- 54:50Speaker 1: but you know it's just yeah, so yeah, I just
- 54:57Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be one of those that has
- 54:59Speaker 1: legs but not not a wrong runway, as weird as
- 55:03Speaker 1: that sounds.
- 55:04Speaker 6: So yeah, because I think that week after what is
- 55:08Speaker 6: the Spielberg one that.
- 55:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that looks good too, Disclosure Day, Yeah, I mean
- 55:14Speaker 1: it's Choice Story that's gonna be another big one.
- 55:17Speaker 6: Oh yeah in theater space and I think of all
- 55:21Speaker 6: these movies get like just pushed out and the Spreme time.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and then at the end of the year we
- 55:28Speaker 1: got Doomsday and June three. Yeah, it's yeah, it's huge.
- 55:33Speaker 2: So I don't get Dune. I don't get the appeal.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Of it, you know, I don't get Harry Potter. But
- 55:41Speaker 1: people love it.
- 55:42Speaker 2: So I don't you know.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not a huge areas franchise.
- 55:46Speaker 2: I've seen all the movies. I just don't get Dune.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I don't.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I mean not every franchise is for everyone. You know.
- 55:53Speaker 6: I think Dune would be better if you read the
- 55:55Speaker 6: book or listen to it, yeah, because there's so many parts.
- 56:01Speaker 2: You know, I don't read too good.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Like my favorite horror franchise is Chucky, right, but I
- 56:12Speaker 1: have accepted that, you know what, Chucky's probably just done
- 56:15Speaker 1: at movies, Like he's had his run, he's had a
- 56:19Speaker 1: TV show. I don't think unless you completely reboot it,
- 56:25Speaker 1: you know.
- 56:27Speaker 6: Cookie and Jason and Freddy just talk.
- 56:29Speaker 1: The one thing about Chucky that I like, compared to
