- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to kf I AM six forty the Bill
- 0:03Speaker 1: Handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I know. Here's my question, Amy. You may know it
- 0:15Speaker 2: the amount of money that's being spent, how much was
- 0:18Speaker 2: asked for and how much was cut overall? Because the
- 0:21Speaker 2: story doesn't tell us, because this could be virtually all
- 0:24Speaker 2: the money asked for, or it could be a fraction
- 0:27Speaker 2: of what was asked for in normally California would get
- 0:31Speaker 2: I do not have that information, okay, hand, Yeah, I
- 0:34Speaker 2: didn't either, So I went to you to embarrass you.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Thank you you were by the way. I knew you
- 0:39Speaker 2: didn't know. That's why I asked.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And now handle on the news, Ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:46Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Name Bill Handle. Here on Monday morning, March twenty third,
- 0:57Speaker 2: as we plug along a heat wave extraordinary, I'm gonna
- 1:01Speaker 2: do a little story about a little bit of heat
- 1:04Speaker 2: coming up later on. Oh, it's not good, it really
- 1:08Speaker 2: isn't the heat wave in southern California. Is It's over
- 1:15Speaker 2: for the most part, isn't it. Amy.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, we're still above normal, but it's not the hot
- 1:20Speaker 3: hot that we had.
- 1:21Speaker 2: It's not crazy hot. Okay, A quick Hello to one
- 1:24Speaker 2: and all. There's Amy.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Good morning, Bill.
- 1:27Speaker 2: There you go, Neil, there you are, long time no see,
- 1:31Speaker 2: long time no see. Yesterday, it's Saturday, Saturday. Any day
- 1:37Speaker 2: days just disappear. Will Colestreber, Good morning Bill.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Will.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I have to congratulate you. I have not seen anybody
- 1:45Speaker 2: eat as much as you did in a very long time.
- 1:50Speaker 2: You know, when the food's that good. I don't know
- 1:52Speaker 2: that's true. That's true. Yeah, all of us are in
- 1:54Speaker 2: that position. And and good morning, good morning. There you
- 1:59Speaker 2: go where you sound excited and filling in for kno
- 2:03Speaker 2: is Sam. This is Sam's last day until next time.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Good morning Sam, Good morning Bill. Okay, there we go. Okay,
- 2:13Speaker 2: As Neil sort of mentioned that we ate a lot
- 2:19Speaker 2: on Saturday, it was the barbecue at my house that
- 2:24Speaker 2: we threw for the donors for Catarina's Club. Some extraordinary
- 2:29Speaker 2: donors gave a ton of money to have a private
- 2:32Speaker 2: barbecue at my house. And it was going to be
- 2:35Speaker 2: a small, intimate barbecue, just six people. Neil me doing
- 2:40Speaker 2: a broadcast, Bert the engineer Lindsay, and that was basically
- 2:47Speaker 2: ed and then Lindsay and Bruno and Silvano of the
- 2:52Speaker 2: Anaheim White house got together and then the folks got
- 2:57Speaker 2: together with wild Fork and it exploded. We had food. Yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 2: forty people there. Chef Chris Abinoti was there and grilled
- 3:11Speaker 2: him too. Yeah, both those guys and he they grilled
- 3:16Speaker 2: and it turned out to be just a blow out,
- 3:20Speaker 2: eat all day, incredible food.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Twelve hours, smoked brisk it.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It was just amazing.
- 3:27Speaker 4: And so you're joking about your you know, joking about
- 3:30Speaker 4: Will but Doc doctor Jim Keeney, Yeah, had like three plates. Yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 4: he was like man meat a rama.
- 3:43Speaker 2: He said he ate three pounds of meat and he
- 3:48Speaker 2: was not exaggerating either.
- 3:50Speaker 4: From the brisket to the trite had ribs, the chicken.
- 3:56Speaker 4: It was just insane.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And Zelman's gave a year's supply of Zelbins and stonefire
- 4:06Speaker 2: grill two hundred and fifty dollars gift certificates to the
- 4:09Speaker 2: three folks that came plus one, and it was just incredible.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And Louise and Louis, Louise Junior, Louis Senior can't wait
- 4:18Speaker 2: for the grandkids. It's like George Foreman Louis Junior Senior
- 4:22Speaker 2: number three. They flew in from Atlanta to be in here.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Everybody was one fun. I wish I had more time
- 4:31Speaker 4: I was working, but everybody was lovely.
- 4:34Speaker 2: We're thinking of doing this annually, actually to raise money
- 4:37Speaker 2: for Katerina's Club, because it was just it was so
- 4:40Speaker 2: much fun.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Not only was it generous for you to open up
- 4:43Speaker 4: your home even though you didn't lift a goddamn finger. Correct,
- 4:46Speaker 4: your wife did an outstanding job and cannot get enough
- 4:52Speaker 4: praise for everything she did and kept that thing running.
- 4:55Speaker 4: And I know she has pain issues, but you wouldn't
- 4:59Speaker 4: know it. She was good lowing. She was in her element.
- 5:02Speaker 4: She looked beautiful, and she was having the time of
- 5:05Speaker 4: her life making sure everybody was enjoying them.
- 5:07Speaker 2: So she loves doing that. In any case, it was
- 5:10Speaker 2: a great fun. Amy was there, There was Force, and
- 5:14Speaker 2: Neil was there. We were broadcasting. Anne was there. Drove
- 5:17Speaker 2: three hours because the traffic.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Was compiling crazy hours.
- 5:22Speaker 2: You know, I didn't recognize. I didn't know that Will
- 5:24Speaker 2: was there. I knew there was one guy with his
- 5:27Speaker 2: face in the plate for hours at a time, much
- 5:31Speaker 2: like you know a horse and a trough.
- 5:34Speaker 4: You just mentioned the chicken.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I forgot to get chicken. Oh yeah, did you bring
- 5:41Speaker 2: home some meat? I brought home nothing oh, oh yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 2: there was. There was so much left over because they
- 5:47Speaker 2: were so generous at Anaheim White House, Wild Fork, tremendous
- 5:51Speaker 2: folks Anaheim. And we didn't pitch Anaheim White House. What
- 5:56Speaker 2: Bruno does when he does these things and he's on,
- 5:59Speaker 2: usually we or Neil puts him on for a segment.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Two things don't happen. We don't get that potato chip
- 6:06Speaker 2: story again. Thank god, we don't hear it because we've
- 6:09Speaker 2: heard it for the forty fifth time. Chips them and
- 6:16Speaker 2: he doesn't pitch the restaurant very often. He's very very
- 6:20Speaker 2: cool about that. Just a quick word. It's Easter and
- 6:24Speaker 2: birthdays Anaheim White House. You will not be disappointed. The
- 6:28Speaker 2: food is that good. It is a destination restaurant of
- 6:31Speaker 2: the first order. And it's not insanely expensive either. It
- 6:36Speaker 2: is for what you get, it's very reasonably priced. And
- 6:40Speaker 2: you know it's not one hundreds of dollars per person.
- 6:43Speaker 2: It's it's reasonably priced and it's insanely good. So calendar
- 6:48Speaker 2: that one. Anaheim white House. It's a beautiful property too.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It is. Oh yeah, the Anaheim white House is a
- 6:53Speaker 2: cultural landmark. It looks just like the white House. It
- 6:56Speaker 2: was built in nineteen oh four. And on top of that,
- 7:00Speaker 2: a company that I am marginally involved with gave a
- 7:05Speaker 2: seventeen piece knife set that was personalized with a huge
- 7:09Speaker 2: block and the thing weighed fifty pounds and I got
- 7:11Speaker 2: to ship one of these boxes to Atlanta. I can't
- 7:13Speaker 2: wait to see how much that one costs. So that
- 7:16Speaker 2: was given by Platinum Cookware, which is owned by Well
- 7:25Speaker 2: Two Jews, Two Jews. Yeah, one South African Jew, one
- 7:29Speaker 2: Brazilian Jew. Okay, let's do it. It's time for Handle
- 7:34Speaker 2: on the News with Amy Neil and me lead story.
- 7:41Speaker 2: You know, I'm gonna give the lead story to Amy
- 7:42Speaker 2: because a lot is breaking, So Amy take it from here.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Okay. So around midnight local time last night, plane on
- 7:52Speaker 3: Air Canada Express plane had just landed at LaGuardia Airport
- 7:59Speaker 3: and as it was taxing down the runway or they
- 8:04Speaker 3: don't actually know if it was in the taxing or
- 8:07Speaker 3: if it was still slowing down from landing. They're still
- 8:10Speaker 3: determining that. At that time, Port Authority fire engine was
- 8:16Speaker 3: crossing the runway. It had approval to cross the runway
- 8:20Speaker 3: because it was headed over to another emergency that had
- 8:23Speaker 3: been requested by a United Flight and the plane and
- 8:28Speaker 3: the fire engine collided. Basically, it ripped off the nose cone.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Both pilots, the pilot and the co pilot were killed.
- 8:36Speaker 3: There were over seventy people on board. Forty one of
- 8:39Speaker 3: them went to the hospital. Nine are still in the
- 8:42Speaker 3: hospital with more serious injuries.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I thought you were going to do the story, which
- 8:47Speaker 2: we'll come back with what's happening in Iran and the
- 8:49Speaker 2: President that one too. Yeah, the President postponing the attack
- 8:54Speaker 2: on Iran. So let Amy do that when we come back,
- 8:56Speaker 2: because that is a big, big, big story to say
- 8:59Speaker 2: the least. And the world is reacting, The entire world
- 9:03Speaker 2: is reacting. I'll be back with that KFI AM six
- 9:07Speaker 2: forty bill handled here Monday morning, March twenty third. Let's
- 9:11Speaker 2: do it more handle on the news, Amy, Neil and
- 9:15Speaker 2: me taken a pause.
- 9:17Speaker 3: President Trump over the weekend had threatened to bomb Iranian
- 9:22Speaker 3: power plants if they didn't open up the straight of
- 9:26Speaker 3: or hormones in forty eight hours, and that forty eight
- 9:28Speaker 3: hours would have hit about this afternoon. Well, then this
- 9:31Speaker 3: morning he put out a truth social post and said
- 9:35Speaker 3: We're not going to do that. He said that they
- 9:38Speaker 3: have had very productive conversations regarding a complete total resolution
- 9:43Speaker 3: of hostilities in the Middle East with Iran, and says
- 9:46Speaker 3: for that reason, we're going to put any thread of
- 9:50Speaker 3: strikes on hold for five days. Iran, of course responded.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Until five days is up, and then the threat will
- 10:00Speaker 2: be to bomb Iran, and then he'll pull back again,
- 10:02Speaker 2: because this whole thing is a ping pong game for
- 10:06Speaker 2: threat across for Trump across the board.
- 10:09Speaker 3: By the way, yeah, and did you hear Iran's response?
- 10:13Speaker 3: Iranian state TV announced US president backs down following Iran's
- 10:18Speaker 3: firm mourning it's true.
- 10:21Speaker 2: It's absolutely true. Iran was about to take out all
- 10:26Speaker 2: of the Mid East production oil production of every one
- 10:29Speaker 2: of its neighboring states. It knocked a lot of those
- 10:33Speaker 2: down right, and it's going to take all of it out.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And obviously at that point that'll be in response to
- 10:40Speaker 2: President Trump ordering the taking out of all Iranian production.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Carg Island, particularly up in the north part of the
- 10:47Speaker 2: Persian Gulf, which produces or at least transports, refines ninety
- 10:53Speaker 2: percent of the oil in Iran, and between Iran and
- 10:57Speaker 2: the Gulf states they lie virtually one on income from oil.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I mean, you've got Dubai in a few other countries
- 11:07Speaker 2: financial centers. But the whole thing is based on oil.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Oil production disappears, and that is going to wreak havoc
- 11:16Speaker 2: on the world production of oil and all of it,
- 11:19Speaker 2: how much is based on oil, not only gasoline, but
- 11:21Speaker 2: manufacturing and transportation, I mean all of it. So it's
- 11:26Speaker 2: almost like we are on the verge of a nuclear
- 11:29Speaker 2: war and somebody told Trump you can't do this, and
- 11:33Speaker 2: Iran they're going to cut a deal where I don't
- 11:38Speaker 2: even know what the deal is going to be.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Why would that be a nuclear war?
- 11:42Speaker 2: No, it's like a nuclear war affecting so many Yeah,
- 11:45Speaker 2: no it is. It would not be a nuclear war,
- 11:47Speaker 2: but it's as close to wiping out, in this case,
- 11:51Speaker 2: entire economies. It's crazy, but at least it's good news.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And Jerry Kushner and Steve Whykeoff who witcoff him too,
- 12:02Speaker 2: All three of those guys are all of the negotiations.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Which yourn says isn't going on. Yeah, they're like, oh no,
- 12:11Speaker 3: we're not talking to the US.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well I think they are back channel. I think
- 12:16Speaker 2: they are unless Trump is making it up. Oh, that
- 12:19Speaker 2: would never be happening. Would it moving on?
- 12:25Speaker 4: All right? Tom Homan, you know him best as the
- 12:28Speaker 4: White House boarders are blazinga. He confirmed Sunday what Trump
- 12:34Speaker 4: had said on Saturday, and that is that ICE agents
- 12:38Speaker 4: may be used and deployed it to US airports today.
- 12:44Speaker 4: That would be, you know, in place of TSA because
- 12:47Speaker 4: you have what some four hundred TSA agents that have
- 12:51Speaker 4: already quit, and you have others that are calling out
- 12:54Speaker 4: sick as they're not being paid. So this was all
- 12:58Speaker 4: came down on CNN's State the Union on Sunday, where
- 13:01Speaker 4: mister Homan said that his agency was drawing up plants.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Nothing that we know has been formalized as yet, but
- 13:10Speaker 4: that is what I'll probably move forward.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Not talking about immigration enforcement, talking about support for the TSA.
- 13:18Speaker 2: And if that is the case, if it is omitted
- 13:21Speaker 2: to that number one, it'll help the situation and it'll
- 13:24Speaker 2: do a lot for the reputation of the Homeland Security.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Take this job and shove it. That's what a lot
- 13:35Speaker 3: of TSA people are saying. Neil just mentioned it. About
- 13:38Speaker 3: four hundred have quit the job since the partial government
- 13:42Speaker 3: shutdown began because what they've been working without a paycheck
- 13:44Speaker 3: for a month. They'll eventually get their money, but right
- 13:48Speaker 3: now they don't get they don't have it, and they
- 13:50Speaker 3: got bills to pay DHS. DHS's TSA, the Transportation Security Administration,
- 13:58Speaker 3: has about sixty five employees, and a lot of workers
- 14:02Speaker 3: are saying they're worried about not being able to pay
- 14:04Speaker 3: bills or worse because they're just not getting money. There's
- 14:08Speaker 3: a ten percent national call out rate for TSA actions
- 14:11Speaker 3: right now.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Some airports have a thirty percent.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Yeah, like the one in Atlanta and.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Nison Hartfield or Heartfield.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and also in Hardburg in Texas. It's really bad.
- 14:26Speaker 3: And then they just put out a warning for San Diego,
- 14:29Speaker 3: like apparently it hasn't been so bad at LAX, but
- 14:33Speaker 3: warning has been put out in San Diego that there's
- 14:36Speaker 3: going to be long lines in delays.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Now, four hundred out of sixty five thousand employees is nothing.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It's a drop in the bucket. But this thing hasn't
- 14:44Speaker 2: really hit yet because it keeps ongoing. How many of
- 14:46Speaker 2: them are actively looking for work so they get paid,
- 14:50Speaker 2: and who is going to hold off because at this
- 14:53Speaker 2: point there is no movement between the Democrats and the
- 14:57Speaker 2: Republicans in terms of the part of the budget. All right, well,
- 15:01Speaker 2: I'm sure we'll talk about that a little bit later on.
- 15:05Speaker 4: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 15:08Speaker 4: six forty.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I AM six forty Bill Handled here Monday morning, March
- 15:16Speaker 2: twenty third. Let's jump in once again, return to Handle
- 15:20Speaker 2: on the News with Emmy, Neil and Me.
- 15:24Speaker 4: All Right, so you've been hearing this story. Amy was
- 15:27Speaker 4: talking about it. Seven hundred cats and dogs rex rescued
- 15:32Speaker 4: from a Lake Hughes property. What a story. So this
- 15:36Speaker 4: woman says that she has an animal assistance program, it's
- 15:43Speaker 4: animal care. But you've got four hundred dogs, three hundred cats,
- 15:49Speaker 4: most of which were in cages. Some of the response
- 15:54Speaker 4: said that there was no water in the cages and
- 15:57Speaker 4: things like that. This is a home property, it seems like.
- 16:02Speaker 4: And Friday, March twentieth, you had animal control issue go
- 16:07Speaker 4: out there and they were in like hazmat suits and everything. So,
- 16:11Speaker 4: according to the department, which was receiving assistance from the SPCA,
- 16:17Speaker 4: Los Angeles, Pasadena Humane Society and Kerrent County Animal Services,
- 16:22Speaker 4: more than seventy animal care and control staffers had to
- 16:26Speaker 4: descend on the property to take care of this. So
- 16:29Speaker 4: the woman says she's gonna fight it.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, she says that the animals were fine, and it's
- 16:35Speaker 2: I don't know if it's a felony with when you
- 16:39Speaker 2: deal with this. I know cruelty to animals can be
- 16:41Speaker 2: a felony.
- 16:42Speaker 4: But how could you take care of that many?
- 16:44Speaker 2: You can't. Come on, you can't. Oh, here's a story
- 16:49Speaker 2: about animals.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Leave the bears alone, would you. That is the message
- 16:55Speaker 3: from a group of people in Monrovia who got together
- 16:58Speaker 3: over the weekend for a vigil for the bear that
- 17:02Speaker 3: we were telling you about last week who wildlife officials euthanized.
- 17:06Speaker 3: The bear is known in the area locals collar Blondie.
- 17:10Speaker 3: She was a large black bear. She took a swipe
- 17:13Speaker 3: at a woman who was out walking her dog, like
- 17:16Speaker 3: not this last weekend, but the weekend before. The bear
- 17:20Speaker 3: was then captured on Sunday along with her two cubs,
- 17:25Speaker 3: and then wildlife officials deemed that she was a threat
- 17:28Speaker 3: because she had also taken a swipe at somebody else
- 17:33Speaker 3: the previous June.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, at some point, when you know it's a bear,
- 17:38Speaker 2: you know it's it's just a bear. Kids are starving
- 17:42Speaker 2: all the way, Yeah, kids are starving all over the world.
- 17:46Speaker 2: And now what are they going to do exhume the
- 17:47Speaker 2: bear and makes some kind of a memorial to the bear,
- 17:54Speaker 2: you know, I mean, it's it's a bear. It's swiped
- 17:56Speaker 2: a people when you wait until someone's clawed to death,
- 17:59Speaker 2: like okay, well there's.
- 18:01Speaker 3: A mama bear and she had her first cubs.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I understand. Where where Okay? All right, by the way, they.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Never had bear meets.
- 18:11Speaker 2: No, okay, it's not bad.
- 18:13Speaker 4: You're down all the houses. Yeah, you're down all the
- 18:15Speaker 4: houses and stop living near the bears, all right. Robert Mueller,
- 18:20Speaker 4: ex FBI director. A lot of storms surrounded this gentleman,
- 18:27Speaker 4: but the aftermath of nine to eleven terrorist attacks, a
- 18:31Speaker 4: lot of stuff that he dealt with. He passed away
- 18:35Speaker 4: at the age of eighty one. Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 2: What makes this story particularly interesting is he was the
- 18:41Speaker 2: FBI director and he was in charge of the investigation
- 18:46Speaker 2: of Trump and Russian interference with the elections of twenty twenty.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And it was, you know, the post I'm glad he's dead.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Oh he is.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I mean, that's the post. That's yeah, I know, that's
- 19:04Speaker 2: the post that Trump put out. And it didn't hurt
- 19:08Speaker 2: anyone else, I know, just insane and and some Republicans
- 19:12Speaker 2: were asked specifically, don't you think this was a little
- 19:15Speaker 2: bit off base?
- 19:17Speaker 1: Oh?
- 19:17Speaker 2: No, Trump, the way Trump, the way Trump was treated,
- 19:20Speaker 2: that was that was the deflection, the way he was treated.
- 19:23Speaker 2: He was treated horribly by Mueller and would not answer,
- 19:27Speaker 2: of course, the question, do you think it's okay to
- 19:30Speaker 2: post I'm glad he's dead President of the United States?
- 19:36Speaker 2: You'll ever find a Republican to rip it doesn't matter.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Shoot someone on in broad daylight on uh? What in
- 19:45Speaker 2: broad daylight on? Uh? On Broadway and noon and noon,
- 19:49Speaker 2: and you say he was only defending himself. Yeah, he
- 19:52Speaker 2: was shot in the back. Well, he was backing up
- 19:55Speaker 2: obviously being a hyperbolic here and making an analogy about
- 20:00Speaker 2: when I might add, but come on, guys, you know
- 20:03Speaker 2: at some point, can't you just say he was wrong? No?
- 20:09Speaker 2: All right, here's some news for those people that are
- 20:12Speaker 2: have a problem with the illegal and legal immigration.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Fewer people are coming to America, not crossing the border illegally,
- 20:20Speaker 3: but getting visas. The US issued about a quarter million
- 20:24Speaker 3: fewer visas in the first eight months of twenty twenty
- 20:27Speaker 3: five compared to the same period in twenty twenty four.
- 20:32Speaker 3: The biggest number of visa declines were from India and China.
- 20:38Speaker 2: China, China, all right, and there were just really quickly.
- 20:44Speaker 2: They're reissuing the Neil Diamond song. It's now not coming
- 20:48Speaker 2: to America. Not coming. Yeah, that works in sure.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Now, Neil, Okay, the last thing you want if you're
- 20:56Speaker 4: in the Middle East is to have twenty five hundred
- 20:59Speaker 4: Camp Penalty marines coming your way. And that's what's happening.
- 21:03Speaker 4: You got three San Diego warships carrying those twenty five
- 21:07Speaker 4: hundred Camp Pendleton marines in route now to the Middle East,
- 21:11Speaker 4: so says the Daily News. So this was all dealing
- 21:15Speaker 4: with the war against Iran. And I don't know if
- 21:22Speaker 4: I had boots, I'd shake in him if I was
- 21:24Speaker 4: in you know.
- 21:25Speaker 2: The two things that two aspects of this one is
- 21:28Speaker 2: it doesn't look like the festivities the activities have stopped.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Israel still going against Iran. I do believe Iran is
- 21:37Speaker 2: still launching those drones, but.
- 21:41Speaker 3: In action all weekend.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yeah, And so this one's weird because the president is
- 21:47Speaker 2: backing down. He was going to blow Iran to smitherines,
- 21:50Speaker 2: as he said, into oblivion, taking out all of its
- 21:54Speaker 2: oil production and its transportation at midnight tonight, and he's
- 21:59Speaker 2: now pulled back because there are some good negotiations going
- 22:05Speaker 2: on between Iran and the United States. Iran is saying,
- 22:08Speaker 2: what are you talking about? There are no negotiations. So
- 22:12Speaker 2: the question is the President using this as an excuse
- 22:16Speaker 2: to back down and not go right into the oil
- 22:20Speaker 2: World War three? And I don't know the answer to that.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Do you really think that Iran is being honest?
- 22:27Speaker 2: I don't know, because back channel stuff. I think Iran,
- 22:32Speaker 2: the regime, yes number one, scrambling and realizing if this
- 22:37Speaker 2: thing continues and President Trump is telling the truth about
- 22:41Speaker 2: blowing Iran's entire oil production and refinery and transportation system
- 22:47Speaker 2: into the ground, Iran ceases to have an economy. And
- 22:52Speaker 2: is the regime prepared to do that? I mean, they're
- 22:54Speaker 2: willing to take down. Iran's willing to take down the
- 22:56Speaker 2: entire Mid East, the oil production, and they can do it.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And so I think everybody is realizing, I don't know
- 23:05Speaker 2: what's going on. I think the President is backing down,
- 23:08Speaker 2: and I think he's looking for an excuse to back
- 23:10Speaker 2: down because he can't be wrong. He can't just say WHOA,
- 23:14Speaker 2: We're too close to just annihilation of.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Oil hard and hit first.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Oh, Iran has the drones. Iran has the drones. They
- 23:24Speaker 2: could take They could take out the Mid East very easily. Easily.
- 23:28Speaker 2: They have thousands of drones, maybe of tens of thousands
- 23:32Speaker 2: of drones. You know that each of those drones, when
- 23:36Speaker 2: the United States launches a Patriot missile, for example, to
- 23:38Speaker 2: shoot down a ballistic missile coming in, it's four million
- 23:42Speaker 2: dollars per missile. A drone costs Iran thirty five thousand
- 23:48Speaker 2: dollars to produce. And I heard an interview yesterday saying
- 23:54Speaker 2: of the missiles, the Patriot missiles that have been launched,
- 23:58Speaker 2: the US could have bought twenty three thousand drones. And
- 24:06Speaker 2: in terms of numbers, I think Iran has the upper
- 24:09Speaker 2: hand in terms of the damage it can do really okay,
- 24:14Speaker 2: party well in terms of of the Mid East. In
- 24:18Speaker 2: terms of the Mid East, I don't think the defenses
- 24:21Speaker 2: against the drones are going to be effective. Even if
- 24:25Speaker 2: ninety percent of the drones are destroyed and are intercepted
- 24:29Speaker 2: ninety five percent, there are still plenty of drones that
- 24:33Speaker 2: could take down facilities, oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, in
- 24:38Speaker 2: the Kuwait, in the Emirates, I think and Iran could
- 24:41Speaker 2: do that much.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Dam aren't they radio controlled or are there a GPS
- 24:44Speaker 4: system that they're programmed in shop there's no way.
- 24:47Speaker 2: To at this point all you can do. All you
- 24:49Speaker 2: can do is intercept them. That's it. Yeah, you can't
- 24:54Speaker 2: knock them out at this point. There's no technology. You know,
- 24:57Speaker 2: does have the technologies Ukraine. In the United States was
- 25:01Speaker 2: very reluctant to go to Ukraine and ask for Hell
- 25:04Speaker 2: Now they're doing it big time. Yeah, I mean we're
- 25:08Speaker 2: looking at we're on the verge of hitting the world
- 25:11Speaker 2: economy very, very hard, and so I think both sides
- 25:15Speaker 2: are going to back down. But in the end, I
- 25:18Speaker 2: think Iran is more truthful, not completely truthful, more truthful.
- 25:24Speaker 2: There might be some backchannel stuff going on, of which
- 25:27Speaker 2: Iran is denying, and then you have President Trump saying
- 25:31Speaker 2: they're willing to come to the table. It's we're going
- 25:34Speaker 2: to find out what happens. We're late. Let's take a break,
- 25:37Speaker 2: and this is KFI. Welcome back. We have a few minutes.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I was running late. In the next break and thank goodness,
- 25:43Speaker 2: our commercials are once again referring to oily stools. I
- 25:47Speaker 2: missed that a lot. Okay, back we go, let's finish
- 25:51Speaker 2: up handle on the news, Amy Neil and me.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Chicken little maybe onto something. A meteorite apparently crashed into
- 25:59Speaker 3: a house in the huge area, tearing through the roof
- 26:02Speaker 3: and two stories of the home. The meteorite landed in
- 26:09Speaker 3: a kitchen. Apparently it was bigger than the fire chief's hand,
- 26:14Speaker 3: NASA said the mediaor became visible about forty nine miles
- 26:18Speaker 3: above Stagecoach, which is northwest of Houston. It was going
- 26:22Speaker 3: thirty five thousand miles per hour, breaking apart twenty nine
- 26:26Speaker 3: miles above the earth, and then crashed into the house.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Global Warming, Am I right? Wait? No, okay, never mind.
- 26:39Speaker 4: So Saturday Night Live has gone across the pond to
- 26:43Speaker 4: Saturday Night Live UK version, and boy were people in
- 26:48Speaker 4: the UK bashing this before it aired, saying it was
- 26:52Speaker 4: going to be a piece of dung. But it actually
- 26:56Speaker 4: did quite well.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Did great?
- 26:58Speaker 4: Yeah, people, people enjoyed it and it seems like it
- 27:04Speaker 4: was largely pretty funny. Yeah, it's the same format much
- 27:07Speaker 4: like The Office.
- 27:08Speaker 2: The British seriales from the United States exactly, so it
- 27:12Speaker 2: goes back and forth.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Well, we've stolen a lot more from them, I think
- 27:15Speaker 4: than they have from us. But good on them. Live
- 27:18Speaker 4: from London, it's Saturday Night.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Karen Bass leads the pack, but voters say that's not
- 27:26Speaker 3: saying much. A new poll released yesterday showed that Mayor
- 27:31Speaker 3: Bass currently has twenty five percent support of voters. City
- 27:35Speaker 3: council woman Nitya Rahman is favored by seventeen percent, and
- 27:41Speaker 3: then Palisades Fire Survivor and reality TV shots start Spencer
- 27:47Speaker 3: Pratt came in third with fourteen percent. In the poll,
- 27:50Speaker 3: it's done by UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies and
- 27:53Speaker 3: the LA Times. About a quarter of the voters say
- 27:55Speaker 3: they're still undecided, and fifty six percent of those polls
- 28:00Speaker 3: say they have a very unfavorable rating of current Mayor
- 28:03Speaker 3: Karen Bess.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but she's probably gonna win it because a plurality wins,
- 28:08Speaker 2: and the Democrats aren't gonna get much of a plurality,
- 28:12Speaker 2: and the Republicans well, so she'll probably screwed.
- 28:15Speaker 4: We keep doing the same stupid things over and over
- 28:18Speaker 4: and over again.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Oh, here here's some news. Let's go with that one, Neil,
- 28:22Speaker 2: because this is really interesting.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Yeah, so you know, we talk about climate change and
- 28:28Speaker 4: all those things, going on. We forget how many little
- 28:32Speaker 4: pieces of the puzzle there are. So forget those ground
- 28:35Speaker 4: hogs with weather predictions and all of that. You've got
- 28:38Speaker 4: beavers in the forefront right now, and that they are
- 28:41Speaker 4: Actually that's pretty good.
- 28:43Speaker 2: You cannot say the word beavers. You can't put a
- 28:47Speaker 2: straight face, can No, you can't because you're six years old. No,
- 28:52Speaker 2: you cannot. You can say beaver. You cannot be for
- 28:55Speaker 2: beaver or beaver beaver. Well that's five six and I'm
- 29:00Speaker 2: not going to gore you.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Were a little hard on the beaver last night, all right.
- 29:03Speaker 4: So the research published on March eighteenth in the Journal
- 29:06Speaker 4: of Communication, Earth and Environment said that that beavers were
- 29:13Speaker 4: important to doing their part two combat climate change one
- 29:17Speaker 4: dam at a time, one damn dam at a time,
- 29:20Speaker 4: and that for the first time calculating the carbon dioxide
- 29:24Speaker 4: admitted and western dute engineering work done by beavers in
- 29:30Speaker 4: the wetland areas and how they found that they are
- 29:34Speaker 4: very important. We are here, are beavers treated? We are exactly.
- 29:39Speaker 2: We are running late, everybody, so we'll be back big
- 29:43Speaker 2: doings in the mid East. Oh, it's just another turn
- 29:48Speaker 2: as the world turns. They have beavers in the Middle East,
- 29:52Speaker 2: very hot ones will be back. We're not gonna touch
- 29:56Speaker 2: that one either. Okay, kf I A M six.
