Speaker 1: Can't forget that there's tremendous wealth in the Middle East
• 0:04
Speaker 1: and a lot of that wealth is coming over here
• 0:05
Speaker 1: to build plants. Saudi Arabia is giving us two trillion dollars,
• 0:10
Speaker 1: Qatar is giving us two trillion dollars. UAE is giving
• 0:13
Speaker 1: us two trillion dollars. All of that is for the
• 0:16
Speaker 1: good of this country. So my focus is very much
• 0:19
Speaker 1: in this country, but you can't lose sight of the
• 0:22
Speaker 1: fact that we need peace all over the wealth.
• 0:24
Speaker 2: If you're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with
• 0:27
  Speaker 2: Ben ferguson.
• 0:28
Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning, so nice to have you with us
• 0:30
Speaker 3: on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got two
• 0:32
Speaker 3: big stories for you. First up, it is a massive
• 0:36
Speaker 3: argument that has major importance for the future of this
• 0:39
Speaker 3: generation and for children in sports, specifically bands to ban
• 0:44
Speaker 3: men acting like women from playing in women's sports. I'm
• 0:48
Speaker 3: going to take you inside the Supreme Court where I
• 0:51
Speaker 3: set for those oral arguments and what the ramifications could be.
• 0:55
Speaker 3: Come June or July and the Supreme Court announces they're ruling. Also,
• 1:01
Speaker 3: major protests are continuing to erupt in Iran. This as
• 1:05
Speaker 3: the US government says for Americans to get out immediately
• 1:09
Speaker 3: and protesters are now being killed by the thousands. So
• 1:13
Speaker 3: what is President Trump going to do next. It's the
• 1:15
Speaker 3: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
• 1:18
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 1:19
Speaker 3: It was a monumental day at the Supreme Court yesterday
• 1:22
Speaker 3: and I had the honor of being there for the
• 1:25
Speaker 3: oral arguments and two major cases that have to deal
• 1:28
Speaker 3: with men in women's sports and protecting women from men
• 1:33
Speaker 3: claiming to be women who have taken over the locker
• 1:36
Speaker 3: rooms and the podiums of basically any sport they want
• 1:40
Speaker 3: to play. These two cases, they were important. The first
• 1:44
Speaker 3: one was Little versus Heacocks, and what it was was
• 1:48
Speaker 3: a challenge to an Idaho state law. It was a
• 1:51
Speaker 3: simple law that was protecting women's sports. It banned transgender
• 1:57
Speaker 3: girls aka boys acting like girls, as well as men
• 2:01
Speaker 3: claiming to be women from playing on girls and women's
• 2:05
Speaker 3: sports teams. Now, this is one of the things that
• 2:08
Speaker 3: President Donald Trump promised he was going to do, protect
• 2:12
Speaker 3: women in the locker room and on the playing field,
• 2:16
Speaker 3: and now the conservative movement is paying off on fighting
• 2:20
Speaker 3: it all the way to the Supreme Court. Now, the
• 2:22
Speaker 3: core legal questions that were asked in the first case
• 2:25
Speaker 3: were actually really simple. Number one, whether state bands like
• 2:30
Speaker 3: the one that happen in Idaho violate the Equal Protection
• 2:34
Speaker 3: clause of the Constitution, or if they violate Title nine,
• 2:39
Speaker 3: the federal law barring sex discrimination and education. Now you
• 2:44
Speaker 3: may ask yourself this question, why does this matter? Well,
• 2:47
Speaker 3: if upheld, this decision could validate similar bands in more
• 2:52
Speaker 3: than two dozen states, and if it struck down, it
• 2:56
Speaker 3: could roll back laws restricting transgender youth participant in school athletics.
• 3:02
Speaker 3: As I said in the court, it was very interesting
• 3:05
Speaker 3: to watch the radical judges on the Supreme Court. Sadama
• 3:08
Speaker 3: Or is a great example of that. Atlanta, Kagan, and Brown.
• 3:12
Speaker 3: They all were sitting there and having one big conversation
• 3:16
Speaker 3: about how upset they were that there are not more
• 3:19
Speaker 3: children that identify as transgendered. Sadamayor almost went to the
• 3:25
Speaker 3: point of advocating for parents to transition their kids at
• 3:28
Speaker 3: a much younger age, because then that could give them
• 3:31
Speaker 3: what they believe is a legal precedence to make a
• 3:35
Speaker 3: change to the law mandating the transgender aka men acting
• 3:41
Speaker 3: like women or boys acting like girls should be able
• 3:43
Speaker 3: to play in women's sports. It was also pretty clear
• 3:47
Speaker 3: in this first case that the conservatives on the court
• 3:52
Speaker 3: were siding with the idea of sanity, that there is
• 3:55
Speaker 3: a difference biologically between men and women. And even if
• 3:59
Speaker 3: you decide to play, you know, a crazy medical game
• 4:02
Speaker 3: of suppressing hormones or adding estrogen or to stostrum or
• 4:06
Speaker 3: whatever the concoction may be to make you more like
• 4:09
Speaker 3: the opposite sex, even when it's done perfectly, many times
• 4:14
Speaker 3: you still don't fall within the actual numbers needed to
• 4:18
Speaker 3: quote claim you are the opposite sex. So the takeaway
• 4:22
Speaker 3: from case number one was very clear. This is a
• 4:26
Speaker 3: major uphill battle for the left and for the radicals
• 4:30
Speaker 3: like the ACLU that are obsessed with destroying women's sports.
• 4:35
Speaker 3: There was also the second case, which was West Virginia
• 4:39
  Speaker 3: versus b p J. It was a challenge to West
• 4:43
Speaker 3: Virginia law that similarly bars transgender girls from girls sports teams.
• 4:49
Speaker 3: The plaintiff was a transgender student athlete, Becky Pepper Jackson,
• 4:54
Speaker 3: who wants to compete in girls track and field. The
• 4:57
Speaker 3: legal issue, just like the first case, it's centered on
• 5:01
Speaker 3: whether Title nine and the Equal Protection Clause allows or
• 5:05
Speaker 3: prohibit states from categorizing sports teams based solely on biological
• 5:11
Speaker 3: sex at birth. Now the key argument for the plaintiff
• 5:15
Speaker 3: aka the transgender athletes was pretty simple. They kept saying
• 5:19
Speaker 3: over and over again that this is discrimination. The attorneys
• 5:22
Speaker 3: argue that the Idaho and West Virginia bands unlawfully discriminate
• 5:27
Speaker 3: against transgender students and deny them the educational and health
• 5:32
Speaker 3: benefits of participating in school sports. The reality is that's
• 5:36
Speaker 3: not true. You can participate in the sport in which
• 5:40
Speaker 3: you were biologically born, either a man or a woman. Now,
• 5:45
Speaker 3: when that argument fell flat on its face, they continued
• 5:48
Speaker 3: and contended that the Title nine, interpreted in light of
• 5:53
Speaker 3: recent federal guidance they claim, protects transgender students from exclusion
• 5:58
Speaker 3: based on gender identity. Again, that is a lie. You
• 6:02
Speaker 3: can play the sport that you're included in from the
• 6:05
Speaker 3: moment you're born in the sex that you are, and
• 6:09
Speaker 3: if you want to start your own league at transgender league,
• 6:12
Speaker 3: knock yourself out. Also, the plant have said there's quote
• 6:15
Speaker 3: no evidence that the inclusive policies harm cis gender girls sports.
• 6:22
Speaker 3: That also blew up in their face inside the courtroom
• 6:26
Speaker 3: as I watched as Supreme Court justices on the conservative
• 6:29
Speaker 3: side asked a simple question, what percentage of transgenrent athletes
• 6:35
Speaker 3: are successful when they switched from male sports to female sports,
• 6:39
Speaker 3: and how often do they win? The numbers were staggering.
• 6:42
Speaker 3: Just how many times when a man decides to act
• 6:44
Speaker 3: like they are a woman, they're able to take away
• 6:48
Speaker 3: gold medals or NCAA championships or just winning games. And
• 6:53
Speaker 3: then there was the other aspect of the conversation, which
• 6:56
Speaker 3: the left hopes you never talk about, how many injury
• 7:00
Speaker 3: happen because of men playing in women's sports and what's
• 7:04
Speaker 3: the severity of those injuries. Well, they can be catastrophic.
• 7:08
Speaker 3: We have seen major injuries, career ending injuries when men
• 7:12
Speaker 3: play in women's sports. Now, the key arguments for the
• 7:15
Speaker 3: States were pretty clear. Fairness in women's sports is what
• 7:19
Speaker 3: this is all about. The state lawyers and the supporting
• 7:23
Speaker 3: briefs that were delivered emphasized that policymakers have historically separated,
• 7:29
Speaker 3: for good reason, teams by biological sex to protect opportunities
• 7:34
Speaker 3: for girls and protect opportunities for women. They also argue
• 7:39
Speaker 3: that states have authority under Title nin to limit team
• 7:42
Speaker 3: eligibility to biological females for competitive fairness and safety reasons.
• 7:48
Speaker 3: The takeaway from being in the courtroom is this the
• 7:52
Speaker 3: oral arguments suggest clearly that the conservative majority on the
• 7:57
Speaker 3: Court may be sympathetic to the state's argument and then
• 8:00
Speaker 3: clined up hold the Idaho and West Virginia laws. The ACLU,
• 8:04
Speaker 3: in fact, got themselves into a point where they couldn't
• 8:07
Speaker 3: even define for the court what the definition of a
• 8:10
Speaker 3: woman or a man is. That is just how radical
• 8:13
Speaker 3: the left has truly become. Yes, the ACLU couldn't answer
• 8:18
Speaker 3: that simple question, but wants to change the way that
• 8:20
Speaker 3: sports are running this country. At the end of the day,
• 8:24
Speaker 3: I think it's pretty clear that this was a big
• 8:26
Speaker 3: victory in court at the Supreme Court today, and a
• 8:30
Speaker 3: big victory hopefully will be confirmed by the Supreme Court
• 8:33
Speaker 3: when the ruling comes down, likely in June or July.
• 8:37
Speaker 2: Now, story number two.
• 8:38
Speaker 3: There is a new warning for Americans in Iran. Get
• 8:42
Speaker 3: out now. Why it looks like America is getting closer
• 8:46
Speaker 3: to defending those that are standing up for their freedom
• 8:49
Speaker 3: and being killed in Iran as we speak. We're seeing
• 8:53
Speaker 3: multiple different tallies that have been put out depending on
• 8:56
Speaker 3: who you listen to. But what we do know now
• 8:59
Speaker 3: is that it looks like not hundreds, but thousands of
• 9:02
Speaker 3: Iranians have been killed. Reuters is reporting as we speak
• 9:06
Speaker 3: that Iranian officials are admitting to roughly two thousand people
• 9:10
Speaker 3: that have been killed. The official quote blamed the terrorists
• 9:14
Speaker 3: and did not provide supporting details. Rights groups and activists
• 9:19
Speaker 3: documentation are saying they believe it's more in the three
• 9:22
Speaker 3: to five thousand people that have been killed at range.
• 9:26
Speaker 3: The Associated Press reported the US based human rights activist
• 9:30
Speaker 3: news agency is now estimating over three thousand deaths as
• 9:34
Speaker 3: we speak. We also are being told that there's more
• 9:37
Speaker 3: than eighteen thousand Iranians that have been detained, and many
• 9:42
Speaker 3: times when you're detained, you end up being killed by
• 9:45
Speaker 3: the government. There's also even higher end claims that are
• 9:49
Speaker 3: coming out but have not independently been verified, that the
• 9:53
Speaker 3: count nationwide in Iran is more like twelve to twenty
• 9:57
Speaker 3: thousand that have been killed. CBS News reporting claims of
• 10:01
Speaker 3: twelve thousand or as many as twenty thousand deaths as
• 10:05
Speaker 3: they are saying, the news is trickling out. Why because
• 10:09
Speaker 3: the government still has the blackout on communications. The Internet
• 10:14
Speaker 3: and the phones are down. The bottom line is the
• 10:18
Speaker 3: redline that the President talked about has been crossed. The
• 10:21
Speaker 3: most cited documented figure in major wire reporting is now
• 10:25
Speaker 3: saying over three thousand that have been murdered by the
• 10:29
Speaker 3: IATOLA and the crackdown, well, it's brutal. Most are describing
• 10:35
Speaker 3: live fire and mass arrests, overwhelmed hospitals, and intimidation even
• 10:40
Speaker 3: a medical staff to save people's lives who have been
• 10:43
Speaker 3: hurt or shot. When Guardian reports cited doctors describing hundreds
• 10:49
Speaker 3: of gunshot eye injuries at a single Tehran hospital, meaning
• 10:54
Speaker 3: the Iatola is telling them to shoot them in the eye.
• 10:58
Speaker 3: America's response has been very clear. President Trump said that
• 11:04
Speaker 3: we will defend those that are being attacked, and the
• 11:08
Speaker 3: President is urging Iranians to keep protesting and saying help
• 11:12
Speaker 3: is on the way, without specifically giving details. He also
• 11:17
Speaker 3: warned of a very strong action if Iran carries out
• 11:21
Speaker 3: executions of protesters, some that apparently have already been planned,
• 11:26
Speaker 3: and suspending and halting meetings and contacts with Iranian officials
• 11:30
Speaker 3: until the violence stops. The State Department in the US
• 11:33
Speaker 3: government also making it clear for a travel advisory. They
• 11:37
Speaker 3: plainly stated do not travel to Iran for any reason.
• 11:41
Speaker 3: US citizens in Iran should also leave immediately. They also
• 11:46
Speaker 3: emphasize that there is no US embassy in Iran and
• 11:50
Speaker 3: warrens of risk, including civil unrest and arbitrary detention. Separately,
• 11:55
Speaker 3: the US Virtual Embassy Iran Security alert also high lights
• 12:00
Speaker 3: land border departures is an option when safe, and reiterate
• 12:04
Speaker 3: the lack of in country US consular support if you
• 12:08
Speaker 3: need help now. The warning to Americans Iran is clear,
• 12:12
Speaker 3: leave immediately practically and safety first, wording saying quote, if
• 12:17
Speaker 3: you're a US is and currently in Iran, the US
• 12:19
Speaker 3: State Department guidances leave Iran now. Do not expect the
• 12:24
Speaker 3: US help Inside of Iran. The US has is again
• 12:28
Speaker 3: no embassy. If safe to do so, you should even
• 12:31
Speaker 3: consider departying by land via neighboring countries, referencing the US
• 12:35
Speaker 3: alert saying plans for these communication outages are also hard
• 12:39
Speaker 3: to communicate, and they said if you cannot depart immediately,
• 12:43
Speaker 3: shelter in a secure location, keep a low profile, and
• 12:47
Speaker 3: establish backup ways to communicate with family, satellite or other
• 12:52
Speaker 3: methods if available. So here we are at the end
• 12:56
Speaker 3: of the day. There's a blackout on purpose of good
• 12:59
Speaker 3: information now the country. But what we now do know
• 13:02
Speaker 3: is Iran says it's open to talks with the US
• 13:04
Speaker 3: amid the protest crackdowns that are happening. We also know
• 13:09
Speaker 3: that it's very clear that the President is planning something.
• 13:13
Speaker 3: What that may be, we don't know when it could happen.
• 13:15
Speaker 3: We also don't know, but more than likely it's going
• 13:18
Speaker 3: to happen in the very near future, and we'll cover
• 13:22
Speaker 3: all of it for you here.
