  SPEAKER_00: David is in a dilemma.

  SPEAKER_00: He's in a dilemma because he put his trust in somebody.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh they are let me see here the word I want to use.

  SPEAKER_00: Be careful with the word I use.

  SPEAKER_00: He put their trust in somebody.
• 0:35
  SPEAKER_00: But uh their trust uh is not antiquated back then.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh Brother Daniel said something uh the other week uh that it was profound that uh you hold on to people and at the end of the day you look at the end of the road, you find out that you're holding on to your own rope because they let you go a long time ago or something to that effect, uh and so and so uh uh David here has a problem.

  SPEAKER_00: And his problem is is that uh that that sometimes that uh as individuals we can be a little naive.

  SPEAKER_00: We can be a little bit naive and uh we think uh the best and we want the best and sometimes we omit discernment and we need God to help us to discern things, and so uh uh he says he's praying here in the first half of this verse that he's praying to the Lord and uh he's praying and uh because he needs God to answer his prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh have you ever been praying to God and and uh it felt like that uh God wasn't hearing you?

  SPEAKER_00: And uh uh it's good to pray, but better than praying is answered prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And I do believe at the end of these 21 days we're gonna see some answer prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: It's one thing to pray, but it's another thing to get the answer prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And so uh he says, Unto thee will I cry.

  SPEAKER_00: Psalm 28, verse 1.

  SPEAKER_00: He said, Unto thee will I cry.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna cry to your Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh and then he calls the Lord my rock.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna cry unto thee, O Lord, my rock.

  SPEAKER_00: I know, God, that you are my rock, you are my stability.

  SPEAKER_00: You are what I'm standing on, you're firm.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh, if the foundation be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?

  SPEAKER_00: Well, the foundation can't be destroyed because it was founded upon this rock.

  SPEAKER_00: The principle of God that in him is the fullness of life.

  SPEAKER_00: In him, amen, there is amen deliverance and power.

  SPEAKER_00: I want you to know that the Lord is your rock, that's your firm foundation.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm not standing upon man, I'm standing upon the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: The Lord is my rock, amen.

  SPEAKER_00: People are not my rock, the Lord is what's keeping me here today, nobody but the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: And I refuse to give my praise to anybody else but the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: Yes, he might have used you to help me, but ultimately it was the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: How many of you know that it is the Lord that deserves the glory, it is the Lord that deserves all honor, it is the Lord that gets the praise, and that's why most folk can't really move in the spirit because they want the glory.

  SPEAKER_00: How many of y'all want to get God to get all glory?

  SPEAKER_00: The Bible said, looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, for the joy that was set before, he endured the cross, despised the shame, and is set on the right hand of the throne of God.

  SPEAKER_00: So he cries unto God, which is a type of prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh he said, Lord, um, in your infinite wisdom, I want you to help me.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh, it ain't no time to be cute when you really need something from God.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh God, I want to see somebody really needs something from God.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh, they don't mind getting their hair messed up, they don't mind for the mascara to run, don't mind for them to look all ugly in the face.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh God, I don't mind what you think about me, but when I need something from God, I don't mind crying out to God.

  SPEAKER_00: So he cried unto the Lord and he said, God, Lord, don't be silent to me.

  SPEAKER_00: If you're silent, I'm gonna become like them that go down to the pit.

  SPEAKER_00: In other words, if you don't answer me, God, I have no hope.

  SPEAKER_00: My hope is in the Lord, in him alone.

  SPEAKER_00: And if you don't answer me, then I know I'm going down.

  SPEAKER_00: But thank be to God that God won't let his people go down.

  SPEAKER_00: And then he asked him to hear the voice of my supplication when I cry unto thee.

  SPEAKER_00: When I pray, I'm going to lift my hands towards your holy oracle.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna pray with my hands lifted up.

  SPEAKER_00: The Bible said, men are to always pray.

  SPEAKER_00: Lifting up holy hands without doubt and without wrath, without doubt that I know that God hear my prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: Without wrath, I don't have to do anything on my own.

  SPEAKER_00: God gonna take care of it.

  SPEAKER_00: So I'm just lifting up holy hands.

  SPEAKER_00: If I lift up holy hands, that means my hands not been into nothing, my hands not gotten into nothing.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm not treading upon the holding upon nothing that's unholy.

  SPEAKER_00: These are holy hands that I'm lifting up to God.

  SPEAKER_00: Lift up your hands, oh ye people.

  SPEAKER_00: Lift up your voices unto God.

  SPEAKER_00: So he says, holy hands.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna lift them up to you.

  SPEAKER_00: Lifting up my hands when I pray.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, lifting your hands is a sign of surrender, it's a sign of surrender.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm lifting my hands because I'm surrendering my will to God.

  SPEAKER_00: Yes, and that's why I pray.

  SPEAKER_00: I lift my hands to the Lord, letting him know not my will, but your will be done.

  SPEAKER_00: And then he tells them in verse number three, he says, Draw me not away with the wicked.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh uh sister is and uh draw draw me not away with the wicked.

  SPEAKER_00: That's right, sister.

  SPEAKER_00: I need your help.

  SPEAKER_00: Draw me not away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity.

  SPEAKER_00: Don't draw me away with the sinners, don't put me in the same category.

  SPEAKER_00: Which uh, watch this the works of Nickwitch speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in your heart.

  SPEAKER_00: So now David gives us a glimpse of what he's dealing with.

  SPEAKER_00: He's dealing with someone that's speaking right before his face, but behind his back, there have mischief or wickedness in their heart.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh he's dealing with the spirit of two-faced.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, glory.

  SPEAKER_00: Ah, glory, hallelujah.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh God, I gotta get out of here.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh God, he's dealing with somebody, amen, that's trying to befriend him, but at the same time, they have something else in their heart that they really want to do.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, I can deal with an honest person, a person that's up front and they believe, but a two-faced person I can't deal with.

  SPEAKER_00: Everybody in your face is not your friend.

  SPEAKER_00: I just said something right there.

  SPEAKER_00: Everybody that's in your face is not on your side.

  SPEAKER_00: There's some folk that want to get close to you just so they can be close to you to know your business.

  SPEAKER_00: And don't you tell people your business.

  SPEAKER_00: Everybody is in your face, is not caring for you.

  SPEAKER_00: Everybody in your face is not on your side, everybody in your face is not in your corner.

  SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have to have some discernment to know, God.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, God, that they're not for me, they're against me.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, there's a lot of folk that have the wrong motive.

  SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of folk that'll come to you and say, How are you doing?

  SPEAKER_00: Pray the Lord, pray the Lord, everybody, pray the Lord, pray the Lord, shake my hand, pray the Lord, pray the Lord, pray the Lord, and the moment you walk away, I hope they go somewhere and fail in every avenue and every place and they turn.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh God, deliver us from the two-faced people, hallelujah.

  SPEAKER_00: God deliver us from the two-faced folk of God that just want to look at God and won't add a thing to what you're trying to do.

  SPEAKER_00: God help me deliver me from them.

  SPEAKER_00: That's what David is saying.

  SPEAKER_00: I don't want to be like you ever met somebody and you thought that they were with you, and you thought they was on your side, and then when you turn around, there was every step that they had, they were trying to tear you down and tear you apart, trying to distract you.

  SPEAKER_00: But I want you to know that if God be on your side, hallelujah, God will show you what you're working with.

  SPEAKER_00: He calls them, he says, Who speaks peace to the neighbors?

  SPEAKER_00: But once you come to the Lord, you should be delivered from that.

  SPEAKER_00: But God is looking for some real folk, some folk that ain't ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  SPEAKER_00: He's looking for some real folk that don't mind spending some time on their face before the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: He's looking for some real folk that got real problems that God can deliver you from.

  SPEAKER_00: He's looking for some honest folk that said, I need the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: And then they get real good now.

  SPEAKER_00: They know how to fake that thing real good now.

  SPEAKER_00: You gotta watch them.

  SPEAKER_00: When they walk away, keep your eye on them.

  SPEAKER_00: So David has a problem.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh he tells the Lord in verse number four, he says, give them according to their deeds, according to their wickedness.

  SPEAKER_00: According to their wickedness of their endeavors, give them and render, give them after the work of their hands, render to them their dessert.

  SPEAKER_00: I said, give them a dessert.

  SPEAKER_00: That messed me up.

  SPEAKER_00: They two-facing, they need a dessert.

  SPEAKER_00: Yes, God got something for everybody.

  SPEAKER_00: And what he's asking is to give them what they deserve.

  SPEAKER_00: Give them what they deserve.

  SPEAKER_00: Here's the reason why.

  SPEAKER_00: He said, because they regarded not the work of the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: They didn't see what God was doing.

  SPEAKER_00: Nor could they understand the operation of their hand.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, the Bible tells us that the things of God are clearly seen from the beginning of the world through his creation.

  SPEAKER_00: And so they didn't want to honor the Lord because of the work of his hand, nor of uh uh the operation of his hand, nor the works of the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: He shall destroy them and shall not build them up.
• 14:52
  SPEAKER_00: He talks about his creation, the work of his hand.
• 14:56
  SPEAKER_00: His creation talks about the work at the cross, his redemption, his salvation for us.

  SPEAKER_00: And then he talks about the work of his hand, the church.

  SPEAKER_00: We are the God's handiwork, we're the hand of the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: And they don't honor that, they don't see that, they can't see past their own selves, they can't see past their own doing.

  SPEAKER_00: And so he says, God, give them what they deserve.

  SPEAKER_00: Not no desert dessert, but give them what they deserve.

  SPEAKER_00: I was gonna get mad about that.

  SPEAKER_00: Give them a dessert, yeah.

  SPEAKER_00: Give them what they deserve.

  SPEAKER_00: Everybody deserves what they need and what they get.

  SPEAKER_00: And then he says this.

  SPEAKER_00: So he's praying to God and he's asking God to hear his prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And then when you get to verse six, something switches and his focus is not on the two-faced vote, it switches because he realizes that God has heard his prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And he says in verse six, Blessed be the Lord, because he's heard the voice of my supplication.

  SPEAKER_00: Now he asked God in verse number one and two, God, don't not hear my prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: God, don't let me go down.

  SPEAKER_00: And he realizes God heard my prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And I told the church the moment that we set ourselves aside to fast the God and to seek God, God heard our prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: How many know that God heard your prayer?

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, God hears our prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: And he says, Uh uh, but blessed be the Lord, because he has heard the voice of my supplication, he's answered my prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: That's the best prayer, the answered prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: I don't want my prayers to go unanswered.

  SPEAKER_00: I want the Lord to answer my prayers.

  SPEAKER_00: I want the Lord to bless me.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, even if the answer is no, that's an answer.

  SPEAKER_00: Even if the answer is not yet, amen, that's an answer.

  SPEAKER_00: And so he realizes, he says here, he says, Blessed be the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: He said he heard my voice of my prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: It wasn't a silent prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: I told you earlier he cried to God.

  SPEAKER_00: I cried unto God.

  SPEAKER_00: He heard him cry out to God.

  SPEAKER_00: You ever been in a situation and uh you realize that uh uh you won't not be silent and you just got to cry to God?

  SPEAKER_00: Yes, you you can get into something, and uh well this is just my silent prayer.

  SPEAKER_00: But you can get into something and it be so deep that you will open your mouth and cry out to God.

  SPEAKER_00: And all I can do is say, I need you.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm not ashamed to shed tears.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm not ashamed to weep before the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: I tell the sisters in the church all the time, don't you go get a man that won't cry.
