SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to Kids in a Calling Podcast, where none of us are actually kids, but we all have a calling.
• 0:20
SPEAKER_02: And that is to point people to Jesus.
• 0:22
SPEAKER_02: Our regular host Audrey sadly got sick last minute.
• 0:26
  SPEAKER_02: So it's me, Hudson.
• 0:27
SPEAKER_02: I'll be your host for today.
• 0:28
SPEAKER_02: And with me is Andrea Crater.
• 0:31
  SPEAKER_00: Hi guys.
• 0:31
  SPEAKER_02: Lincoln Sotier.
• 0:32
  SPEAKER_02: Hey guys.
• 0:33
  SPEAKER_02: And Luke Gibson.
• 0:34
  SPEAKER_02: Hey guys.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_02: Alright, so Audrey's normally the one asking these questions, but it's my turn today.
• 0:39
SPEAKER_02: So I got a slightly more serious one.
• 0:42
SPEAKER_02: If you could ask God one question when you get to heaven, any question at all, what would that question be?
• 0:49
SPEAKER_00: Why did you make mosquitoes?
• 0:52
  SPEAKER_00: It's a very it's a very real question.
• 0:54
SPEAKER_02: Can I uh sit in and listen to the answer to that?
• 0:57
SPEAKER_02: Because I gotta know too.
• 0:58
  SPEAKER_00: No, like for real.
• 0:59
SPEAKER_00: Because like all they do is bite me.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_00: They bite me and then it itches.
• 1:03
SPEAKER_00: Like, what is the point?
• 1:05
SPEAKER_00: Especially the big ones, the the mosquito huff ones.
• 1:08
  SPEAKER_00: They literally do nothing.
• 1:09
SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, they eat the mosquitoes.
• 1:11
SPEAKER_03: They're the good ones, yeah.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_00: Okay, but they flop, they get into my house and they flop around my room.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_00: Like, why and then they don't get out.
• 1:17
  SPEAKER_02: They're protected.
• 1:18
SPEAKER_02: And they exist to feed the spiders, dude.
• 1:20
  SPEAKER_02: It's all an ecosystem.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_00: Oh, but I don't like I'm not a big fan of this ecosystem.
• 1:24
  SPEAKER_02: I don't like a danger.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_02: But dude, we can't question them.
• 1:27
SPEAKER_00: I guess, but like this whole question is questioning God.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_02: I know I was just annoying you.
• 1:33
  SPEAKER_02: Um it worked.
• 1:34
SPEAKER_02: My question is always gonna be what happened to the dinosaurs?
• 1:38
  SPEAKER_02: For real?
• 1:38
SPEAKER_02: This has finagled me from the moment I was born.
• 1:41
SPEAKER_02: I came out of the womb wondering where those dinosaurs went.
• 1:44
SPEAKER_04: What does finagled mean, Hudson?
• 1:46
SPEAKER_02: Like bamboozled, like I'm lost.
• 1:48
SPEAKER_00: What was your favorite dinosaur growing up?
• 1:51
SPEAKER_02: Uh, this is a niche one, probably the ankliosaurus.
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_02: That one's tough.
• 1:55
  SPEAKER_00: Which one is that?
• 1:56
SPEAKER_02: It has spikes on its back and it has like a boulder on its tail and it's like.
• 2:00
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_02: It's like the only uh dinosaur that hasn't been found with like T-Rex bite marks because it couldn't bite it because of the spikes on its back.
• 2:08
  SPEAKER_02: There's just a small little guy, smaller than a T-Rex.
• 2:10
SPEAKER_03: Looking like Bowser a little bit.
• 2:12
SPEAKER_00: Did you watch Dinosaur Train?
• 2:13
  SPEAKER_02: Who didn't?
• 2:15
  SPEAKER_02: I don't think I did.
• 2:16
  SPEAKER_02: You're you're lost.
• 2:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm lost.
• 2:18
  SPEAKER_02: Like you saved.
• 2:19
  SPEAKER_02: I love Dinosaur Train.
• 2:21
SPEAKER_02: I can't get into it because this intro question will be like 10 minutes long, but that's my question.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_02: What happened to the dinosaurs?
• 2:27
SPEAKER_04: Okay, I'd probably ask uh what prompted God to make everything?
• 2:30
SPEAKER_04: Like, or what was he doing before he made everything?
• 2:33
  SPEAKER_00: Did Bro get bored?
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_04: That's what I would ask him.
• 2:38
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_03: Okay, some context for mine.
• 2:40
SPEAKER_03: You know Noah's Ark and the f the big flood?
• 2:43
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 2:44
SPEAKER_03: That God planned he would never do again?
• 2:46
SPEAKER_03: Did all the fish survive?
• 2:48
SPEAKER_03: Or kind of like the dinosaurs.
• 2:50
  SPEAKER_03: Did some perish?
• 2:52
SPEAKER_00: Well, like, some of them might have died.
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_00: Because think about it.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_00: If the if the ground opened up, right, so the water could come out the ground, and then it's raining a bunch, there's a bunch of water everywhere.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_00: What happens to the the ground?
• 3:04
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna like come up and the sediment's gonna come up, and then like the big waves gonna splash around and stuff.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_00: And so I would think s maybe some of the like fish would get buried in the sediment.
• 3:14
  SPEAKER_04: Maybe so.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_04: Well, and salt water would have been mixing with freshwater.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_00: So you think yeah, the salt and freshwater mixing.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_02: Do you think the water would have been mostly salt water or freshwater?
• 3:25
  SPEAKER_04: Salt water.
• 3:26
  SPEAKER_02: I'd say salt water.
• 3:27
SPEAKER_02: So that means most of the freshwater fish would probably have died.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_00: Because like all of the most of like the water on the ocean is saltwater.
• 3:37
SPEAKER_00: Well, it is salt water, kind of, I think.
• 3:39
  SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, see, Luke, that ties exactly into mine.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_02: What about the water dinosaurs?
• 3:44
SPEAKER_02: Why are they just suspiciously gone today?
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_03: I know, right?
• 3:47
  SPEAKER_03: We got alligators.
• 3:48
SPEAKER_02: That's not a water dinosaur, but that is not the Leviathan talked about in Job.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_00: But it could be a dinosaur still.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_02: It's like scaly like one, and then it's like the exact sound.
• 4:00
  SPEAKER_02: Yep.
• 4:01
  SPEAKER_00: Wait, can alligators growl?
• 4:04
  SPEAKER_02: I think they hiss.
• 4:05
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they hiss.
• 4:06
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, they do hiss.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_02: But alright, I'll never have the answer to this question until I meet God.
• 4:12
  SPEAKER_02: So we'll move on.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_02: So we've been so we've been following Pastor Jared's series on the seven primal questions.
• 4:20
  SPEAKER_02: They've been phenomenal.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_02: And two weeks ago, we heard the message, Am I Enough?
• 4:26
SPEAKER_02: And that was a really good message, and I just want to get right into it.
• 4:30
SPEAKER_00: Pastor Jared popped off with this message.
• 4:32
  SPEAKER_00: He did really good.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_00: This one was one of my favorites.
• 4:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, and his question of Am I enough?
• 4:38
SPEAKER_00: And honestly, his whole message was just talking about are we enough?
• 4:43
  SPEAKER_00: Like ourselves.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_00: Well, we question to ourselves, are we enough?
• 4:48
SPEAKER_00: So, like, am I blank enough for this?
• 4:50
SPEAKER_00: So am I smart enough?
• 4:52
  SPEAKER_00: Am I good enough?
• 4:54
SPEAKER_00: Um, do people actually want me in this spot?
• 4:57
SPEAKER_00: And it just questions your adequacy because you try to overwork to show others that you belong in a room, or you just completely avoid it altogether.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I like the distinction that he gave it because for me, when he first mentioned it, uh I obviously I was waiting for him to explain it, but to me it kind of seems similar to like, am I wanted?
• 5:15
SPEAKER_02: Like to me, those seem similar.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_02: But then he literally he hit what you just said that it's not being wanted.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_02: It's like more internally, like, do I walk into a room and feel qualified?
• 5:24
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, do I feel capable?
• 5:26
SPEAKER_02: Do I actually belong here?
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: Whenever he first said it, I was I kind of linked it to like self-esteem because people always link, Am I good enough?
• 5:34
SPEAKER_00: Or like, am I enough to self-esteem?
• 5:37
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I have I feel like I would have good self-esteem.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't think this applies to me.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_00: But then he kept going on, and I was like, Oh, just kidding.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_00: But to me, I get this one.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_02: But to me, it kind of linked personally like on this podcast.
• 5:51
SPEAKER_02: Like, that's how I immediately linked it.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_02: Because I I mean, if you've listened to the bonus episode we did where we explained our stories, I basically just got sat down in an office and was told you're gonna be on this podcast.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he was like terrible.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so obviously for a bit, I was like, Me?
• 6:08
SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna be, you know, a voice for our church.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_02: Like, my pastor wants me on a podcast.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_02: Like, am I qualified for this?
• 6:15
SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm sure all of us with this being our first podcast went through that.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_02: So that was kind of my like my most recent am I enough moment.
• 6:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 6:25
SPEAKER_00: Uh pastor just hit the nail like on the head, and one of the things he said was, God would not ask me to do this if he did not have what I need on the other side.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_00: So that that just like it's so good because God won't ask you to do things for something he's not willing to qualify you for.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know what I mean?
• 6:43
SPEAKER_00: So like I am new to youth ministry, like now I'm the junior high leader over here at church, and like that's new, that is brand new.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_00: Like, I've not really done youth ministry before.
• 6:54
SPEAKER_00: But um God wouldn't have asked me to do this if he wasn't willing to put youth people in my life and people in my life um who could be a voice for that, you know, like help train me.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_00: But he said that our qualifications don't come from people, they come from God because in Exodus, um Moses is arguing with God, like the burning bush moment happens, and Moses is arguing with God, like, I don't talk good enough.
• 7:27
SPEAKER_00: Why are you making me like why would you ask me to to go out um and for your people?
• 7:33
SPEAKER_00: And God didn't argue with Moses about him saying I don't talk good enough or whatever.
• 7:41
SPEAKER_00: But but God helped Moses understand that um he qualifies the called.
• 7:49
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, because if you didn't, you know, previously listen to Pastor Jared's message and you were given a huge calling like that, and you didn't have the actual graphs that I am enough simply because God exists, I'd say we'd all act like that.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_02: Like if God told me today I was leading America to freedom and like all of America was enslaved, I'd be like, God, I am not enough for this.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_02: Like, what are you doing?
• 8:11
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, literally.
• 8:12
SPEAKER_02: That was kind of the point of it all.
• 8:14
SPEAKER_02: That and he gets to it throughout the message, but yeah, like you just said, we are enough simply because God calls us, and you don't have to be ready to start the calling.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_02: That was one of his main points that I really liked because I've thought that at times.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_02: Like, like if God calls me to be a preacher, I feel like I would have to be the perfect preacher before I got up and spoke before a bunch of people.
• 8:36
SPEAKER_02: But Pastor Jarr was getting that it's not like that at all.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_02: You don't have to be perfect.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_02: Um Moses said he had a list, he wasn't a good speaker, and yet he was expected to go speak to Pharaoh and tell him to let his people go.
• 8:48
SPEAKER_02: Let all the people go.
• 8:49
SPEAKER_02: Um Joshua, when he took over after Moses, he was still a young man.
• 8:53
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he wasn't the perfect leader, but he had to lead the nation of Israel.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_02: And Pastor Jared used examples like that from the Bible to show that God will more often than not call you when you are not uh He'll never call you when you're perfect, but he'll more often than not call you when you don't feel like you're ready.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I definitely think that uh he said that am I enough is usually a question that high performing people have.
• 9:18
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 9:18
SPEAKER_03: You know, and Moses and Joshua, well, they ended up doing great things for God.
• 9:23
SPEAKER_03: But at first they were showing him how oh, I'm not worthy, I can't do it.
• 9:28
SPEAKER_03: I'm not good enough, I'm not trained enough, I'm not ready enough to do any of the things or even this first thing you've called me to do.
• 9:34
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and Pastor Jared at the very beginning, well not very beginning, but more in the beginning than the end, he talks about how when the question, I am enough, or am I enough, is settled correctly, we get confidence in our God-given ability.
• 9:47
SPEAKER_04: And he said it's not arrogance, not pride, but confidence, knowing God wouldn't ask me to step into this if he didn't plan to supply me with what I would need.
• 9:54
SPEAKER_04: And so when God called us into a ministry, whether it's uh the ministry or to take a step of faith at a job or talk to a certain person at school, I feel like a lot of times uh we wrestle against it because we don't feel like we're good enough to do that task.
• 10:09
SPEAKER_04: And uh it's like Pastor Jared said, when we stop fighting the question, Am I enough?
• 10:14
SPEAKER_04: We realize, yeah, I might not be enough, but I'm walking hand in hand with a God that is, and he's gonna give me everything I need to do what he's called me to do.
• 10:21
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
• 10:22
SPEAKER_02: And that question can arise from a lot of places.
• 10:24
SPEAKER_02: Um, kind of like Luke just said before you how it Pastor Jared said it's more common in higher performing people and more driven people.
• 10:32
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_02: Um, I really like when he said that an answer to a previous question that he talked about could lead to this question arising.
• 10:40
SPEAKER_02: Like the exact example he used was getting a job at a new promotion at work.
• 10:45
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_02: Um, that could answer one of your previous questions.
• 10:48
SPEAKER_02: Um, like, am I successful?
• 10:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_02: That could that could temporarily answer that one for you.
• 10:53
SPEAKER_02: Um, but then that could also lead right into am I enough?
• 10:56
SPEAKER_02: You step into this new role and you're just like, Do I belong here?
• 11:00
SPEAKER_02: Am I really qualified for this?
• 11:02
SPEAKER_02: And that can happen in many stages of life.
• 11:04
SPEAKER_02: That can happen transitioning from like middle school to high school, like that's a big transition.
• 11:08
SPEAKER_02: That can happen going from high school to college, it can happen in ministry, it can happen in many areas of your life.
• 11:15
SPEAKER_02: And you know, like Lincoln did just say, Um, if you don't have that internalized where you know that you're enough because God calls you, pretty much every new big transition, you're gonna start questioning that.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_02: Like, do I belong here?
• 11:27
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so it's important to keep that in mind, I think.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he used a story about um Jesus calling Peter to walk on the water, and he talked about how when Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, he began to sink.
• 11:39
SPEAKER_04: And uh the Bible says in Matthew 14, 31, that after or that yeah, that after Peter asked Jesus to save him, Jesus grabbed him and said, Why did you doubt me?
• 11:48
SPEAKER_04: And Pastor Jared he said, Jesus didn't say you should have been stronger, or you sank because you're not worthy.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_04: He didn't say any of those harsh things, he just said, Why'd you doubt me?
• 11:57
SPEAKER_04: And Peter, like Pastor Jared said this, he said, Peter was never spiritual enough to walk on water because and he never walked on water because of his capability, but God equipped Peter to do it.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_04: Or God he God equipped Peter because he called him out onto the water.
• 12:12
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_03: And then another thing from that, I'm sure he was thinking, Am I enough to walk out into the physically impossible?
• 12:19
SPEAKER_03: One thing that no human has done before, except for Jesus standing before him.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_03: Well, you gotta think about it.
• 12:25
  SPEAKER_03: That's just the beginning.
• 12:27
SPEAKER_03: That first step is just the beginning.
• 12:29
SPEAKER_03: How can you look forward to maneuvering in spiritual things when you're afraid to conquer the physical things he gives us power over?
• 12:35
SPEAKER_03: When he says whenever you have faith, you have if you have enough, that mountain will move.
• 12:41
SPEAKER_03: You know, so you must have physical faith, knowing that God's gonna take care of you in your situation, yeah, for you to move on, for you to grow enough, for him to use you spiritually, also.
• 12:52
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 12:52
SPEAKER_02: And I gotta I gotta say, I'd probably be like Peter, if I'm being honest.
• 12:56
SPEAKER_02: Like, that's exactly why I need this message, why I listen to it, because I'd like to do the physical and possible, like you just said, and I would hit that exact thing.
• 13:04
SPEAKER_02: I'd start thinking exactly like that.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_02: Like, I I do not pray and I don't pray hours and hours a day.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_02: How am I supposed to walk on water like this?
• 13:12
SPEAKER_02: I'd I'd get so caught up in my head, and then I'd sink beneath the water and I'd be looking down at like the crabs and stuff, and I'd have to look up and be like, Save me.
• 13:21
SPEAKER_02: But um crabs are cool, but yeah, I I really liked like um Luke kind of just hit on and Lincoln just hit on.
• 13:27
SPEAKER_02: Um, when Peter did start to fall and he reached up to Jesus, Jesus never said um, why didn't you pray more?
• 13:34
SPEAKER_02: How did you why didn't you fast more?
• 13:36
SPEAKER_02: He simply said, Why did you doubt?
• 13:38
SPEAKER_02: And that points out like the huge distinction that it's never about how much you can do, it's literally just about faith.
• 13:44
SPEAKER_02: Do you believe that God says you are enough?
• 13:47
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's that simple.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_00: One of the things that Pastor said when he was talking about Peter was when Jesus calls me beyond myself, I have to rely on him because he is always enough.
• 13:58
SPEAKER_00: And some I feel like we struggle with that a lot because whenever um we like whenever God calls us to do something that's big, we try to do it on our own sometimes because we just we're trying to make sense of it, but in reality, like God has called us to that thing or whatever it is because he wants us to rely on him and not on our own.
• 14:22
SPEAKER_00: Because whenever we rely on our own confidence, we can get prideful or just not do as great things as we could do if we were just like, Hey God, I trust you, man.
• 14:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, let's let's get this thing doing.
• 14:35
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, that ties right into what Pastor said kind of near the end of his message when he was talking about how some people can struggle in their relationship with God, not because they're weak, but because they're actually too strong.
• 14:46
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and kind of like you just said, um, a situation can arise in life, and instead of you know immediately consulting God and praying to God about that, they'll just rely on their own like knowledge of the Bible, even something like that.
• 15:00
SPEAKER_02: Like that seems like a good thing, and it is a good thing to be knowledgeable, but sometimes you can rely on your own knowledge of religion, your own knowledge of biblical principles, your own knowledge of anything instead of just consulting God first.
• 15:11
SPEAKER_02: And I thought it was powerful because you see that um today and you see it in the Bible, like you see that random people that don't have any history in any church, any history and any following, they just come out of nowhere and God uses them to do great things.
• 15:26
SPEAKER_02: And it's because they were so weak that they knew that I'm nothing without God.
• 15:30
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 15:31
SPEAKER_02: And once you get secure, once you get safe, once you get to like it's peaceful and things get good in your life, you can start to fall into that.
• 15:38
SPEAKER_02: Where you don't have to, in quotation marks, rely on God because you have it.
• 15:43
  unknown: Yeah.
• 15:43
SPEAKER_02: And you're like safe, you don't need to rely on him.
• 15:45
SPEAKER_02: So I thought that was really like that was kind of wowing to hear.
• 15:48
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, agreed.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_03: You can try to qualify yourself for whatever, for everything, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, whatever it may be.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_03: You can try your best to qualify yourself, but you will never be enough by definition, because God's definition of enough in your life is all that matters.
• 16:05
SPEAKER_03: That's all, and you can't work toward that.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_03: You have to accept what he's telling you to do.
• 16:09
SPEAKER_03: You have just to obey.
• 16:12
SPEAKER_00: And Pastor said at the end of his message, he said the answer to the question, Am I good enough, is seeing that Jesus is always enough, and that his strength becomes my capability and his strength becomes my sufficiency.
• 16:25
SPEAKER_00: Because I am called by him, and because he is enough, that is enough for me, even if I might not be enough myself.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_00: Because if he's enough all the time, then I don't have to be enough all the time.
• 16:39
SPEAKER_00: Because if I rely on him and put him in the center of my not enoughness, then he's gonna be enough all the time.
• 16:47
SPEAKER_02: It really makes things a lot easier when you put it like that.
• 16:49
SPEAKER_02: Like instead of having to worry about this and that, what I can do or what I can't, I can simply just be, well, God says I'm enough.
• 16:55
  SPEAKER_02: So that's it.
• 16:56
  SPEAKER_00: I'm it that's chill.
• 16:57
  SPEAKER_00: I'm good.
• 16:57
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm enough.
• 16:58
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if only it was that easy, right?
• 17:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that can be so much easier said than done because like we we can just talk about all the time, like, oh yeah, I'm enough.
• 17:09
SPEAKER_04: But then when it you know when a times come when it comes time to be enough, you you doubt it.
• 17:15
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 17:15
SPEAKER_00: But that's alright, because as long we just gotta get it through our thick skulls, that God is enough all the time and his strength becomes our capability.
• 17:25
SPEAKER_03: And enough for God may not look like enough to us.
• 17:28
SPEAKER_03: Like, didn't he say that God uses the weak to confound the mighty?
• 17:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he didn't.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_03: I think that's what that's one of the things you said.
• 17:34
SPEAKER_03: Well, I I I don't know if he made this example, but I wanted to bring it out.
• 17:39
SPEAKER_03: From Gideon in Judges, he thought that 3,000 soldiers or a greater amount than 300, which he ended out with, was not going to be enough.
• 17:48
SPEAKER_03: And then God just kept whittling down that number, down lower and lower and lower.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_03: So that's the crazy thing.
• 17:56
SPEAKER_03: They never spilled one drop of blood.
• 17:58
SPEAKER_03: God delivered them in the battle.
• 18:01
SPEAKER_00: Because they had the big battle, like the weak.
• 18:03
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 18:03
SPEAKER_03: Gideon was considered the weakest of his family and of his tribe.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_03: And yet God uses him to move and to destroy the mighty, the weak, to destroy the mighty.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that can also tie into what Hudson was saying earlier.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_04: Like, you your relationship could be affected because you're too strong.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_04: Is because Gideon at first had a lot of men.
• 18:22
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_04: But the Bible says like God cut down the amount of men because he said if you win, you're gonna glorify yourself.
• 18:28
  SPEAKER_04: That's right.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_04: And so he's like, now like Luke was tying in, I'm gonna choose the least of these, and I'm gonna lower your number to where it's gonna be a true miracle, you're gonna see my delivering hand.
• 18:37
  SPEAKER_02: Two bits of weakness.
• 18:38
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's crazy.
• 18:40
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like to me, I would see it as like imagine you you're going to preach somewhere at an event just randomly.
• 18:47
SPEAKER_02: Would you rather rely on all this knowledge that you have, or would you rather, you know, not know what in the world you're doing, but you get a word from God, and you simply gotta trust in what God tells you to do.
• 18:57
  SPEAKER_02: Like stuff like that.
• 18:58
SPEAKER_02: Like, it's not bad to have knowledge, it's not bad to, you know, be capable within your own self.
• 19:03
SPEAKER_02: The Bible says be disciplined.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_02: It literally tells you study the word of God continuously, like you should be doing all these things, but you shouldn't get to the point where you trust what you've learned over God.
• 19:12
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
• 19:14
  SPEAKER_02: That's a good point.
• 19:15
  SPEAKER_00: That's good.
• 19:17
SPEAKER_00: So just rely on God, guys, just trust Him with everything.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, it's a it's a continuing theme.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_02: Um, uh I've been finding that the moral of the story for this entire series is there's this question, you struggle with it.
• 19:29
SPEAKER_02: If you struggle with it, look in the Bible, obey the Bible, listen to what God says about you, and then it's that simple.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like that seems to be the recurring equation.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_02: Just God says I'm enough, okay, I'm enough.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then you have to put the Bible in your head so that yeah, you can know the Bible and then your heart, and you gotta bridge the gap between your head and your heart so that you know they both know it.
• 19:52
  SPEAKER_00: And then boom.
• 19:53
SPEAKER_02: Like God calls me to walk out on water, don't say anything, don't think.
• 19:56
SPEAKER_02: I can walk on water as long as God calls me.
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_00: Amen.
• 20:00
SPEAKER_03: And adding on to capabilities, we kind of always focus on strengths and weaknesses whenever we talk about a person or something like that.
• 20:08
SPEAKER_03: Where when he was saying in this message, he was basically saying, Christ will supply where you lack, you know.
• 20:14
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was good.
• 20:15
SPEAKER_03: God, God made you knowing how he was going to use you.
• 20:19
SPEAKER_03: So don't you think he gave you your strengths and especially your weaknesses for a reason?
• 20:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, and that's um 100%.
• 20:26
SPEAKER_02: That's very like highlighted by the story of Moses.
• 20:30
SPEAKER_02: God knew Moses like had a list and still called him to go speak to Pharaoh.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, that proves exactly what you just said.
• 20:37
SPEAKER_02: Like, God's not like He doesn't not know that you have whatever problems you think you have.
• 20:43
SPEAKER_02: He doesn't not know that you have whatever shortcomings you think you have.
• 20:46
  SPEAKER_02: He still called you.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_02: Like He knows that.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_02: Like you don't have to be um Yeah, he like made you that way.
• 20:52
SPEAKER_02: God, you know I'm really insecure, right?
• 20:54
SPEAKER_02: Like He knows that, and He still called you.
• 20:58
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's like when Moses was telling God, he's like, God, I have this list, and God's just in He's in the bush and He's like, Was it not I that made the mute?
• 21:07
SPEAKER_04: Didn't I make your mouth like the the creator shouldn't the creation is talking to the creator, like the creator doesn't know what he's allowed.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_02: He's like, Bro, I know sometimes God just needs to sun you and be like, dude, I literally created you, bro.
• 21:19
  SPEAKER_02: My little brother.
• 21:19
SPEAKER_00: Bro, I I can low key feel with Moses because like I I've dealt with a stutter like in my speech a lot.
• 21:27
SPEAKER_00: And so whenever I was in um elementary and middle school, I wouldn't like to talk in front of people.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_00: Like if I had to read in class, I wouldn't want to because I just didn't want to stutter.
• 21:35
SPEAKER_00: And then God was like, haha, actually, I'm gonna call you to talk in front of a bunch of people all the time.
• 21:41
  SPEAKER_02: Funny how that works.
• 21:42
SPEAKER_00: And I I didn't like it, like that was like my weakness.
• 21:46
SPEAKER_00: Like Moses, like I tried to argue with God.
• 21:48
SPEAKER_00: I was like, I don't I don't want to talk in front of people, and he was like, too bad.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_00: So God'll work it out.
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_00: You got this, guys.
• 21:55
  SPEAKER_00: I believe in you.
• 21:56
SPEAKER_02: Like, please, can you just call me to go do media or something?
• 21:59
  SPEAKER_02: Please, God.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to talk in front of people.
• 22:02
  SPEAKER_04: I have learned something.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_04: God does not like comfort zones.
• 22:05
  SPEAKER_04: That's right.
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_04: That's true.
• 22:06
  SPEAKER_04: Not at all.
• 22:07
  SPEAKER_00: Literally.
• 22:08
  SPEAKER_04: Not at all.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_00: That's one of the things that Pastor said in one of his other messages.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_00: He was like, every time I get comfortable, God always puts me in something else.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_00: So I guess I'll never be comfortable until I get to heaven.
• 22:21
  SPEAKER_00: I laughed.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_00: I was like, that's so funny, but it's so true.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_02: And then when you get there, we can finally ask all these questions.
• 22:27
SPEAKER_00: But you won't remember all these questions.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_00: We're too gonna be too busy worshiping the Lord.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_02: That's right.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 22:32
SPEAKER_02: I have to ask the dinosaur question, bro.
• 22:34
  SPEAKER_02: It has to happen.
• 22:35
  SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't care what you say, bro.
• 22:37
  SPEAKER_02: I got it.
• 22:38
  SPEAKER_02: And they're with you.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_02: Alright, guys.
• 22:56
SPEAKER_02: So for the past three weeks, we've been talking about Proverbs, going through three chapters at a time in our new series.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_02: Um last week we did chapters seven through nine, so this week we'll go through chapters ten through twelve.
• 23:08
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_02: So what do you guys have for that?
• 23:11
SPEAKER_04: Uh I can open up.
• 23:13
  SPEAKER_04: I have Proverbs 10, verse 2.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_04: It says, Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.
• 23:22
SPEAKER_04: So I really like this verse a lot because it is saying that the things that we get through being dishonest, whether that be money, status, or having a good reputation, through being deceptive, right?
• 23:32
SPEAKER_04: Those things are not gonna last.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_04: But honesty and true morality and wisdom will save your life, and being right with God will save your life, and obedience and humility will save your life.
• 23:41
SPEAKER_04: That's what I took away from it.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_04: It's like the true core values of what God wants us to be.
• 23:46
SPEAKER_04: Like those things are gonna save your life, not the things that might look like they're saving your life.
• 23:52
  SPEAKER_04: If that makes sense.
• 23:54
SPEAKER_03: A good example from the Bible from that of tainted wealth and of uh what could have saved his life was Judas.
• 24:01
SPEAKER_03: Literally 30 pieces of silver.
• 24:03
  SPEAKER_03: Come on, bro.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_00: Like his money was literally blood money, because like he killed Jesus.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_03: Tainted wealth, and if he wouldn't have done it, his life would have been fine.
• 24:12
SPEAKER_03: And he didn't even keep it.
• 24:13
SPEAKER_00: And he and he had time to repent.
• 24:16
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 24:16
SPEAKER_00: Like what would have happened?
• 24:18
SPEAKER_00: That would have been the greatest story ever.
• 24:20
SPEAKER_00: Like one of the greatest stories of Judas repented.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_00: But like he didn't.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_00: But it would have been so cool.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_00: I thought Proverbs 10 was really good.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_00: Um, looking at it from like a big picture aspect, I found that Proverbs 10 really just contrasted the lifestyles of the righteous and the wicked.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_00: Because if we look at Proverbs 10 and 1, it says a wise child brings joy to a father, and a foolish child brings grief to a mother.
• 24:53
SPEAKER_00: Or in verse 2, just like Lincoln was talking about, tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_00: And so almost every line or every section is comparison, contrasting righteous living and foolish living.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_00: And so this just shows the big picture of what how to live righteous and then also how to live foolishly.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_00: But it really just pounds in you need to live righteously.
• 25:21
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I kind of picked up on that for all three of the chapters, honestly.
• 25:25
SPEAKER_02: It's just repeated like this is what will happen if you're righteous, and this is what will happen if you're wicked.
• 25:31
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 25:31
SPEAKER_02: And moral of the story every single time is righteousness leads to life, and wickedness leads to death.
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_02: That's right.
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_02: And it's just repeat, it's like Solomon was trying desperately to get this point through that the differences between what will happen if you're righteous if you live righteously, and what happens if you live wickedly.
• 25:50
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_02: And that's what I pick up on the most.
• 25:51
SPEAKER_02: Like it's like he's trying to get this point through to the reader that this is what's gonna happen.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_02: Like, one way leads to life, one leads to death, and it depends on your lifestyle.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_00: Literally.
• 26:01
SPEAKER_03: He almost does it like Pastor Derrick does, because Pastor Jared said he does these really specific examples on his vestiges.
• 26:06
  SPEAKER_03: Literally.
• 26:07
  SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_03: To uh try to speak to you, to try to really get it through to that person, which he really does here.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_03: I mean, like, think about it.
• 26:13
SPEAKER_03: I got a wise youth harvest in the summer, but one who sleeps during harvest is a disgrace.
• 26:18
SPEAKER_03: That's to a worker that does that.
• 26:21
SPEAKER_00: Or lazy people irritate their employees, like vinegar to the teeth or smoke in the eyes.
• 26:28
SPEAKER_00: Like, bro gives really specific examples, but I'm sure like all of his examples were targeting, not targeting, but we're targeting people that existed back in that day.
• 26:39
SPEAKER_00: Like people that would actually work in the fields and harvest for their jobs, yeah, and all that, but still they apply to us today.
• 26:46
  unknown: Yeah.
• 26:46
SPEAKER_02: So sadly, if any of you guys listening are rage baiting your employers, you gotta cut that out.
• 26:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:52
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_02: That's pretty wicked of you, dude.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_00: One that really like stuck out to me was Proverbs 10, 13.
• 26:57
SPEAKER_00: It says that wise words come from the lips of people with understanding, but those lacking sense we beaten with a rod.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_00: I think the part of beaten with a rod just stuck out to me because I was like, golly, that's gruesome.
• 27:09
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:10
SPEAKER_00: But then also like it it makes sense because we're going back to this contrast, compare and contrast of righteous living and foolish living.
• 27:18
SPEAKER_00: And so if you talk with wisdom and you can and you think before you speak, and it says that your words can nourish, right?
• 27:25
SPEAKER_00: Because the because the power of life and death is in the power of the tongue.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_00: And so with wise words, you're gonna give life.
• 27:33
SPEAKER_00: But then if you lack sense, so if you're foolish, then your words are literally worthless, it says in one part.
• 27:40
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, golly.
• 27:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 27:43
SPEAKER_02: And that was a um, that was one I picked up on as well, but more so the power of words like you just hit on.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's spoken in throughout all three of the chapters.
• 27:51
  SPEAKER_02: Um Proverbs 10 11.
• 27:54
SPEAKER_02: The words of the godly are a life-giving fountain, the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.
• 27:59
SPEAKER_02: Um, and then in Proverbs 11 and Proverbs 12, 18, it's rehashed that uh words they have meaning.
• 28:05
SPEAKER_02: Words can have the power to bring life healing, and then also they could bring destruction and deception.
• 28:11
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and the the uh writer he really emphasizes throughout the chapters that um that words reveal the condition of your heart.
• 28:21
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and he he hits on that a lot that words just have meaning, and you gotta be careful with what you say because you could speak things into reality for yourself.
• 28:31
SPEAKER_02: If you always are speaking destruction, you're gonna bring about destruction.
• 28:35
SPEAKER_02: Like if you but if you on the other hand, if you're always saying godly things, always saying how good God is, how much you love God, you're most likely gonna be a good God-loving person.
• 28:45
  SPEAKER_02: That's right.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Proverbs uh 10 11, like you just read, the words of the godly are life-giving fountain, but the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.
• 28:54
SPEAKER_04: When I read that, I immediately thought of Matthew 12 34, which says, Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
• 29:00
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 29:00
SPEAKER_04: And this this proverb is saying that if we really are godly, not only on the outside, but also on the inside, we're gonna speak words that bring life to the people around us.
• 29:10
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 29:10
SPEAKER_04: But if we're only godly on the outside, or like Jesus said, a whitewashed tomb, evil motives, anger, and deceit can be covered by a smooth talk.
• 29:19
SPEAKER_04: And if we aren't careful, we can easily be drawn towards smooth talk because it sounds good.
• 29:24
SPEAKER_04: And by the time we find out at smooth talk, it's already too late.
• 29:27
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 29:27
SPEAKER_00: Just like Lady Folly, like she would talk smooth and would seduce all of these people, but then little did they know that once they went into her house, they were dead neat.
• 29:39
SPEAKER_02: And it's like pointing that out, and that can tie in even to like your personal life.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_02: Like if you're trying to figure out who you need to be keeping in your circle, yeah.
• 29:46
SPEAKER_02: If you have one friend that around other people, or even in church, around church people, they're always like saying the typical things, like they're praising, they're shouting, they're throwing out their hands, they're worshiping, they're saying the right things.
• 29:57
SPEAKER_02: But as soon as you two get along alone, they immediately start gossiping about other people, other believers, then that's probably an indicator of what's really going on inside their heart.
• 30:08
  SPEAKER_00: Literally.
• 30:10
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was like that was like the key thing that was that he was right.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_02: He was getting at that words are like a mirror a window to the heart.
• 30:18
SPEAKER_03: Another instance is uh verse 20.
• 30:20
SPEAKER_03: The words of the godly are like sterling silver, the heart of a fool is worthless.
• 30:25
SPEAKER_03: And I was like, at first I didn't really get the full context like we're talking about now, of how your heart, you know, is where that's what you're gonna be saying, that's what you're gonna be speaking.
• 30:35
SPEAKER_03: So I found Luke 6.45 at the end of it, it says, What you say flows from what is in your heart.
• 30:41
SPEAKER_03: Another one in Second Corinthians three talks about how your lives, your lives are a letter written in your hearts, and how we should live uh uh with God's law written on our heart.
• 30:54
SPEAKER_03: So what are you speaking?
• 30:55
SPEAKER_03: Are you speaking the law?
• 30:56
SPEAKER_03: Are you speaking what God has given you the word?
• 30:59
SPEAKER_03: Or are you speaking folly?
• 31:00
  SPEAKER_03: Are you speaking foolishness?
• 31:02
SPEAKER_03: And it are your words worthless.
• 31:05
SPEAKER_02: I do not want my words to be worthless.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_00: And like especially in that verse, but throughout the entire chapter of chapter 10 in Proverbs, Solomon uses such strong words.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_00: Like he doesn't just use like little words, like they're big words like worthless or beaten with a rod, or um senseless, or fool, or be sensible and all these different things.
• 31:31
SPEAKER_00: And I think he's just really trying to get his point across with everything that he's doing, just to point back to your words have power.
• 31:42
SPEAKER_00: And you need to live a righteous life because if you are speaking things that don't honor God and you're living a life that doesn't honor God, those two plus one plus one equals kaboom.
• 31:57
SPEAKER_04: You it you explode, you explode.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_04: I need that math equation now.
• 32:04
SPEAKER_04: No, because if you have not righteous talk and not righteous life, and you add them together, two two plus one plus one equal kaboom.
• 32:15
  SPEAKER_00: You kaboom um destruction.
• 32:18
SPEAKER_02: This is why Solomon is so adamant about this, guys.
• 32:20
SPEAKER_02: I don't think you understand because if you do what Andrea is saying, you just literally explode.
• 32:25
  SPEAKER_02: Equals MC.
• 32:26
SPEAKER_02: This is this is entirely biblically accurate, and you should not question it.
• 32:31
  SPEAKER_02: You will explode.
• 32:32
  SPEAKER_02: That's great.
• 32:33
SPEAKER_00: You might not explode physically, but spiritually, one day you might.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_02: No, you will go kabloom, like the granny song that's been going around.
• 32:41
  unknown: Kaboom.
• 32:42
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I liked uh Proverbs 10, 17.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_04: It says, People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.
• 32:50
SPEAKER_04: And just like Andrew said, like Solomon used particular words.
• 32:54
SPEAKER_04: He said, who accepts discipline rather than who hears discipline.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_04: Because we can hear people correcting us all the time, but we have to make a conscious effort to fix or change what leaders or accountable friends are telling us to improve on.
• 33:07
SPEAKER_04: And nine times out of ten, uh spiritual leaders, they're gonna want what's best for us.
• 33:11
SPEAKER_04: And same for a well-trusted friend or family member.
• 33:14
SPEAKER_04: But um it's it's important to always have someone who can correct you when you need it and who can congratulate you when they see the effort that you're putting in.
• 33:23
SPEAKER_04: Uh uh, I ask Luke for permission to do this, but um, it's like if I see Luke doing something bad, I'm his friend, so I'm gonna correct him, but I'm gonna correct him in the way that I'd want to be corrected.
• 33:33
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but so when I see Luke improving on what I corrected him for, I'm gonna say, Luke, I'm proud of you for working on that.
• 33:40
SPEAKER_04: And I know he would do the same thing for me.
• 33:42
SPEAKER_04: And I think like if we all had somebody who would not only rebuke us but tell us, hey man, I'm proud of the effort that you're putting in.
• 33:49
SPEAKER_04: I think we could do a lot more growing than what some of us are doing.
• 33:52
  SPEAKER_03: It's true.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_02: And then it's not because you're better than Luke or on the receiving end.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_02: It's not that um that if I have that person for me, it's not that I'm a lesser Christian than them.
• 34:01
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's it's literally just having accountability, like the Bible says.
• 34:05
SPEAKER_02: Um, like in your example, you wouldn't be more spiritual, you wouldn't be on higher ground than Luke simply because he messed up.
• 34:11
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 34:12
  SPEAKER_02: We're all humans, dude.
• 34:13
SPEAKER_02: Like we're all gonna mess up, and that's why it is important.
• 34:15
SPEAKER_02: It's inevitable, so we need to set those.
• 34:17
SPEAKER_02: We've talked about it continuously on the podcast, guardrails, accountability, things to keep us in check when we do mess up.
• 34:24
  SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, that's important.
• 34:25
SPEAKER_03: Speaking of uh discipline here in the same you know, place you're at, 17.
• 34:30
SPEAKER_03: I I find that in my life, I actually end up doing better whenever I make things a challenge instead of just oh, I've gotta do this, oh, I've got to do my homework, I've gotta do, I don't know, I've got to read this much of the Bible, I gotta pray this much during the day.
• 34:45
SPEAKER_03: If I make it a challenge, if I make it something that like, oh, I'm gonna do this much, I'm going to do this, I'm going to seek God, I'm going to find a breakthrough in my walk with Him.
• 34:55
SPEAKER_03: I find that I end up growing more whenever I'm putting my heart and putting my effort into it instead of just, oh, I guess I'll follow the scripture.
• 35:04
SPEAKER_03: I guess I'll do what I'm supposed to do, you know?
• 35:06
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 35:07
  SPEAKER_04: That's a good point.
• 35:08
SPEAKER_00: Do you time yourself like in your challenges?
• 35:11
SPEAKER_00: Do you feel like I wonder how fast I can get my homework done?
• 35:15
  SPEAKER_03: No, no, I don't.
• 35:16
  SPEAKER_03: I don't do that.
• 35:17
  SPEAKER_03: Not with homework.
• 35:18
SPEAKER_00: Oh, sorry, whenever you said challenge, that made me think of like little kids because they're like, time me.
• 35:23
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I ran and go get something and I never time them.
• 35:25
  SPEAKER_00: But no, I agree.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, I think whenever you we we mistake getting to serve God with having to serve God, then that puts a big burden on, oh, I have to do this.
• 35:38
  SPEAKER_00: But in reality, it's a privilege.
• 35:39
SPEAKER_00: Oh, we we get to serve God.
• 35:41
SPEAKER_00: And so I I do that too.
• 35:43
SPEAKER_00: I'll make things like a little challenge for me.
• 35:45
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 35:45
SPEAKER_00: Um, I have an app on my phone that hel helps me track um what Bible chapters I'm reading and like what percentage of the Bible I've read.
• 35:55
SPEAKER_00: And so I really like checking things off of a list.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_00: So if I read my Bible, like if I read like a few chapters and I get to go in the app and like check off um what chapters I read and then see the percentage go up.
• 36:07
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, find the way that's yeah, too.
• 36:09
SPEAKER_03: Find the way that works for you to integrate discipline into your life.
• 36:12
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because it's it it builds you and grows you.
• 36:15
  SPEAKER_00: Discipline is so important.
• 36:16
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for me that uh for me that is praying in the morning.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_02: Um I wake up, I'm extremely tired, especially if I made poor decisions last night, stayed up super late.
• 36:26
SPEAKER_02: So my thing is I'll set like a timer like you guys were just talking about, at least five minutes, even if I feel absolutely dead.
• 36:32
SPEAKER_02: It's at least five minutes.
• 36:33
SPEAKER_02: And then I find often that once I hit that mark, by the time I reach five minutes, I'm already in the flow.
• 36:38
SPEAKER_02: And I'm just like I'll keep going for that.
• 36:40
SPEAKER_02: And it's no longer uh I'm gonna hit exactly five minutes thing.
• 36:43
SPEAKER_02: It's now I'm I've hit at least five minutes, so I'm there.
• 36:45
  SPEAKER_02: I'm in the flow, I'm praying.
• 36:47
SPEAKER_04: Right, yeah, yeah, it goes from I have to to I want to.
• 36:50
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's my little hack.
• 36:51
  SPEAKER_02: That's what I do.
• 36:51
  SPEAKER_02: That gets me going.
• 36:52
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you gotta find the way that you can do it.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_02: Because if you're not a morning person, um, praying in the morning can be pretty difficult.
• 36:59
SPEAKER_02: So sometimes you've got to set those timers.
• 37:01
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and Pastor Jared, he actually talked about that.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_04: He's he said you can start with reading one chapter a day or praying for five minutes.
• 37:07
SPEAKER_04: And he was he said, now naturally you're gonna you're if you're faithful in the small things, you can be faithful in the big things.
• 37:12
SPEAKER_04: So by the time that you get to reading ten chapters a day, you're still gonna be reading your one that you started out with.
• 37:19
SPEAKER_04: You just gotta be faithful in the small.
• 37:21
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, it's it's also like what you guys were just talking about, like building the discipline.
• 37:25
  SPEAKER_02: Like that's important.
• 37:27
  unknown: Yeah.
• 37:28
SPEAKER_03: I actually could give an example.
• 37:30
SPEAKER_03: I was I felt like I was slacking my Bible reading.
• 37:32
  SPEAKER_03: Uh huh.
• 37:33
SPEAKER_03: Like I would do it throughout the week.
• 37:34
SPEAKER_03: It just it wasn't a consistent amount of chapters, or even I'd miss a day, or you know, something like that.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_03: Well, I decided to make it a challenge.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_03: I decided, okay, I'm gonna read the Bible, the whole Bible, in a certain, like really short amount of time, that's ridiculous, just to see if I could do it.
• 37:50
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna work as hard as I can, see if I could do it.
• 37:52
SPEAKER_03: And it ended up growing me.
• 37:54
SPEAKER_03: Like reading the Bible now, I enjoy it so much.
• 37:56
  SPEAKER_03: Like, I can't put it down.
• 37:58
SPEAKER_03: It's more of like an like I want it instead of entertainment now.
• 38:02
  SPEAKER_03: It's kind of interesting.
• 38:03
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, but like facts, because if y'all ever read first and second Samuel, you'll want to not put the book down.
• 38:12
SPEAKER_00: I just I just got the first Samuel.
• 38:15
  SPEAKER_00: So many plot twists.
• 38:16
SPEAKER_00: I read first Samuel, and then I was like, there's no way.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_00: So I read it again, like back to back, and I was like, this is nuts.
• 38:23
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, discipline can turn into motivation.
• 38:25
SPEAKER_04: If you've ever read the Bible, you know that the first half is a faith tester.
• 38:31
SPEAKER_04: And when I got when I got to 1 Samuel, I was about ready to do a front flip, bro.
• 38:35
  SPEAKER_04: I was so happy.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_04: And it has been so good.
• 38:38
SPEAKER_04: I'm only four chapters in.
• 38:40
  SPEAKER_00: Just four?
• 38:41
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I started it today.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_00: Dude, wait till you get like later.
• 38:45
  SPEAKER_04: I just can't.
• 38:45
SPEAKER_02: Hey guys, no spoilers, dude.
• 38:47
  SPEAKER_00: Anyways, no spoilers.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_02: I want to be spoilers, it might be about Samuel.
• 38:53
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, guys, go read the Bible.
• 38:54
  SPEAKER_02: It's a moral of the story.
• 39:15
SPEAKER_02: But one thing that I picked up on going through these three chapters was the emphasis the writer puts on integrity and then in contrast with deception.
• 39:23
SPEAKER_02: Um, for example, Proverbs 11:3, honesty guides good people, dishonesty destroys treacherous people.
• 39:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 39:29
  SPEAKER_02: Proverbs 12 22.
• 39:31
SPEAKER_02: The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_02: And I think it's really interesting the um the emphasis that the chapters put on integrity, because we're talking about things like speech and its window to the heart.
• 39:45
SPEAKER_02: Um, we're talking about actions and how they reflect um what we just talked about, and how those actions reflect like righteousness or wickedness.
• 39:53
SPEAKER_02: So it's it's really cool how the writer has this focus on integrity because that ties in along perfectly with the themes of like your heart, your speech, and your actions.
• 40:05
SPEAKER_02: Integrity ties into all of that, and that's all gonna show whether you're living righteously or wickedly.
• 40:10
SPEAKER_02: And I thought that was really cool.
• 40:11
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_00: You gotta act the same like you would in church all throughout the rest of your life.
• 40:16
SPEAKER_00: That's really just what integrity is being the same person in front of people that you are behind closed doors.
• 40:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the test of your integrity comes when I am I gonna do this because no one's watching.
• 40:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 40:30
SPEAKER_00: But in reality, God's always watching, so there's no loophole.
• 40:34
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because throughout Proverbs, integrity is it's connected to guidance, stability, and God's favor, things like that.
• 40:41
SPEAKER_02: And then on the other hand, deceit is commonly associated with things like instability, destruction, and judgment.
• 40:47
  SPEAKER_02: So have integrity, guys.
• 40:50
  SPEAKER_02: It's pretty important.
• 40:52
  SPEAKER_02: Pretty important.
• 40:53
SPEAKER_00: And it's it's such a foundational concept for our walk with God because one of God's attributes is integrity.
• 41:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so if his own people don't possess integrity in their lives, then like what's the point, guys?
• 41:10
SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
• 41:11
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, I really liked uh Proverbs 7 or Proverbs 11, 7 through 8.
• 41:16
SPEAKER_04: It says, When the wicked die, their hopes die with them, for they rely on their own feeble strength.
• 41:22
SPEAKER_04: The godly are rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.
• 41:26
SPEAKER_04: So this verse is saying that the wicked rely so much on their abilities, so much on their power, that they try to literally save themselves, but it says that their hopes are going to die with them.
• 41:36
SPEAKER_04: And then I love this part about it.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_04: It says God, the godly are rescue, and the trouble falls on the wicked.
• 41:42
SPEAKER_04: So God is literally saving his people, and then he takes the trouble and allows it to fall on those who reject him, and on those who are prideful and too arrogant to worship God.
• 41:52
  SPEAKER_04: That's crazy to me.
• 41:54
  SPEAKER_04: That is, yeah.
• 41:57
SPEAKER_04: That is crazy to me.
• 41:58
SPEAKER_00: And just a few verses before that, it says, The godly are directed by honesty, the wicked fall beneath the load of their sin.
• 42:06
SPEAKER_00: And so that just ties like it's just like boom, boom, boom.
• 42:11
SPEAKER_00: The the god the godly will be rescued, right?
• 42:14
SPEAKER_00: Like, they will be rescued.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_04: But the people who are living in wickedness, you're getting you're getting the the loads from the godly people.
• 42:22
SPEAKER_00: Imagine having so much sin in your life that you literally fall down because of it.
• 42:30
SPEAKER_02: I do not want to be like that, bro.
• 42:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, that's that's what Solomon is saying.
• 42:36
  SPEAKER_00: That's just crazy.
• 42:39
SPEAKER_00: Or just like in verse 6 it says, the ambition of treacherous people traps them.
• 42:45
  SPEAKER_00: They're so caught up.
• 42:47
SPEAKER_00: Wicked people and foolishness, just like the thought uh and the habit of foolish acting is so treacherous that they're so caught up in it that it traps them.
• 42:58
  SPEAKER_00: They can't get out.
• 42:59
  SPEAKER_02: They can't get out.
• 43:01
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because they're so dialed in on how do I get richer.
• 43:04
SPEAKER_02: Literally, how do I how do I make myself feel better?
• 43:07
SPEAKER_02: How do I feed my flesh?
• 43:08
SPEAKER_02: And they get so caught up in that.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_00: Yes, I wish I could see my hands right now because they're like everywhere.
• 43:12
  SPEAKER_00: They're flying.
• 43:13
  SPEAKER_04: But like they're praising.
• 43:15
  SPEAKER_00: Like, literally, I I can't, I can't.
• 43:18
  SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
• 43:18
SPEAKER_04: And to know that all that trouble came from a doorway that they just walk through not knowing.
• 43:23
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 43:23
SPEAKER_04: Or maybe they did know, but sometimes it could happen that they just didn't know it was gonna cost them their life, like yeah, the previous chapters in Proverbs have said.
• 43:30
SPEAKER_04: It could have been smooth talk that got them to go into it.
• 43:33
SPEAKER_04: Like you don't we don't know what it was.
• 43:35
SPEAKER_02: Like if you're not aware, if you're not um if you're not paying attention, like if you got the blinders on, yeah, all you know is you got an invitation to a party.
• 43:42
SPEAKER_02: You didn't know it was the folly party.
• 43:43
SPEAKER_02: But literally it was, and now you're now it's too late.
• 43:46
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 43:47
SPEAKER_00: And this is why it's just so important just to be aware of who you're hanging out with or what you're listening to or what you're watching, but most important, just evaluating yourself.
• 43:56
SPEAKER_00: Like, what are my motives for this?
• 43:59
SPEAKER_00: What why That is driving me.
• 44:01
SPEAKER_00: And so I feel like if you evaluate yourself and your circle, then a lot of these foolish folly, lady folly parties could be what's the word?
• 44:13
  SPEAKER_00: Avoided.
• 44:13
  SPEAKER_00: Avoided that one.
• 44:15
SPEAKER_02: But yeah, you should really just be, like you just said, aware overall, aware of the the invitations that can lead you to how to say the folly party.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_02: Um because I say they'll be different for for different types of people.
• 44:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 44:29
SPEAKER_02: Like you take, like, I'm not trying to act holier than thou, but you take us in this room, a random person coming up, a random friend even offering me a drink.
• 44:40
SPEAKER_02: We're not even gonna like think of considering that.
• 44:42
SPEAKER_02: Like, that's not what's gonna lead us to the folly party.
• 44:44
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 44:45
SPEAKER_02: But it could be a close friend in the church that sits on the same pew as you.
• 44:51
SPEAKER_02: And they're slightly off, or they're off, or they're already kind of living this type of way, and you trust them.
• 44:58
SPEAKER_02: And no, they're not outright offering you a drink.
• 45:00
  SPEAKER_02: I'm just using that.
• 45:01
SPEAKER_02: They're not inviting you to some crazy party, they're not uh inviting you to gossip, fill in the blank for whatever the sin is, but they could just slowly start to shift your boundaries, help you shift them, help you move that line until all of a sudden you're way across the line you originally had and you start to go down.
• 45:18
SPEAKER_02: And so I just think it's important like not to focus on the specific like invitation because we're all gonna get an invitation.
• 45:24
SPEAKER_02: So you're you get it every day.
• 45:26
SPEAKER_02: That's what Prowers was talking about.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_02: You gotta you gotta envision what you want.
• 45:32
SPEAKER_02: I want to live for God, I want to be wise, I want to live righteously.
• 45:36
SPEAKER_02: And if you internalize that and live like that, you'll see that no matter where it comes.
• 45:40
SPEAKER_02: Because we kind of talked about it last week.
• 45:42
SPEAKER_02: Like it won't be, you'll never get a question of is this heaven or hell?
• 45:45
  SPEAKER_02: You'll get a is this wise?
• 45:47
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 45:47
SPEAKER_02: Would doing this, would listening to this train of thought, would doing this, would shifting this boundary even a little?
• 45:54
SPEAKER_02: Would that be wise for my walk with God?
• 45:56
SPEAKER_02: Would that be wise for the relationship with me and my creator?
• 45:59
SPEAKER_00: Is this bringing me closer to God or is it making me push my boundary further to where from where I wanted it to be in the first place?
• 46:08
  SPEAKER_03: That's right.
• 46:09
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, still right there where you're at, tying it back to last week with the two households you could have chosen to go to for a party.
• 46:15
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 46:16
SPEAKER_03: Verse uh 11 of chapter 11, Proverbs, says, Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper.
• 46:22
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 46:23
SPEAKER_03: But the talk of the wicked tears it apart.
• 46:25
SPEAKER_03: I want to focus on what says talk of the wicked.
• 46:28
SPEAKER_03: It's described in chapter 8, I believe, we talked about last last week, that the lady talks, she's out in the street, she's very boisterous, very there's certain words, yeah, exactly, that were focused on her and how she would be just out in the streets talking, talking, talking.
• 46:47
SPEAKER_03: Well, she was wicked, she wasn't trying to get her her guests to come.
• 46:52
SPEAKER_03: And then upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper.
• 46:57
SPEAKER_03: And it was kind of told from the perspective of an upright citizen, which is kind of interesting.
• 47:03
SPEAKER_03: You know, w what city are you in?
• 47:06
SPEAKER_03: Are you in a city that is full of righteous people?
• 47:08
SPEAKER_03: Are you partaking in the wickedness without realizing it?
• 47:11
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, dude.
• 47:12
SPEAKER_04: Verse 27 ties in perfectly with that.
• 47:15
SPEAKER_04: Uh it says, if you search for good, you will find favor, but if you search for evil, it will find you.
• 47:21
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 47:21
SPEAKER_04: It's literally like like literally, you it's it's it's telling you like if you're looking for good, you're gonna have to look for it, but you're gonna find favor in it.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_04: But if you're searching for evil before you find the evil, it's gonna have found you.
• 47:33
SPEAKER_04: There's always gonna be that lady lurking around the corner that's calling out the folly.
• 47:37
SPEAKER_02: Like newsflash, it isn't hard to to make bad decisions.
• 47:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like it isn't hard to sin.
• 47:44
SPEAKER_02: Like that's kind of the moral of the story.
• 47:45
SPEAKER_02: Like, once you start walking down that path, it's gonna get you.
• 47:49
  SPEAKER_02: It's dangerous, bro.
• 47:51
SPEAKER_00: I really don't want evil to find me.
• 47:53
SPEAKER_00: Moral of the story, don't let evil find you.
• 47:55
  SPEAKER_00: Run away.
• 47:56
SPEAKER_03: Just search for good, then it'll keep finding you.
• 47:58
SPEAKER_00: Literally, because like, wow, that's crazy.
• 48:01
SPEAKER_00: Cause good, you have to search for good and you're gonna find it.
• 48:04
SPEAKER_00: But then as soon as you start looking for evil things, it's gonna start looking for you.
• 48:10
  SPEAKER_04: It will find you.
• 48:12
  SPEAKER_00: Uh-uh.
• 48:12
SPEAKER_04: Oh no, no, no, no.
• 48:14
  SPEAKER_00: No, thank you.
• 48:15
  SPEAKER_04: It will find you.
• 48:17
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so listening to Proverbs is like putting a VPN on when you go on a search engine.
• 48:22
SPEAKER_02: Evil isn't gonna find your location.
• 48:24
SPEAKER_02: But if you don't do this and you go, you're gonna get a bunch of viruses.
• 48:28
SPEAKER_02: Those hackers are gonna know where you're at, and they're going to find you.
• 48:31
SPEAKER_00: It's like turning your location on for the devil.
• 48:35
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but don't do that.
• 48:36
SPEAKER_02: You see, that sounds pretty bad, so we shouldn't do that.
• 48:38
  SPEAKER_04: Don't do that.
• 48:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, don't turn your location on.
• 48:41
  SPEAKER_00: Just leave it off.
• 48:42
  SPEAKER_04: Don't do that.
• 48:43
  unknown: Yeah.
• 48:44
SPEAKER_02: But I really like how throughout these chapters we see continually how the what the fruit will look like to someone living righteously.
• 48:53
SPEAKER_02: Like you'll see the fruit in their life.
• 48:55
SPEAKER_02: Talks about it continuously, like in Proverbs 10 22.
• 48:58
SPEAKER_02: The blessings of the Lord make a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
• 49:03
SPEAKER_02: Proverbs 12 14, wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards.
• 49:08
SPEAKER_02: Like the writer's showing us that if you live this way, it's not just gonna be talk.
• 49:13
SPEAKER_02: People can't just talk the talk.
• 49:15
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, if you're living this way, you're gonna see it in your own life.
• 49:18
SPEAKER_02: You're gonna see blessing, you're gonna see peace, you're gonna see life.
• 49:22
SPEAKER_02: It's showing you the difference between like you'll see the fruits of the deceitful person, the the uh the words eluding me, what you've literally been talking about, but the the evil person.
• 49:34
SPEAKER_02: Um like you'll see that fruit, you'll see the fruits, um, you'll see how they trap people, you'll see how their own life, you'll see the path they're walking down, you'll see just those bad fruits, those rotten fruits.
• 49:46
SPEAKER_02: But on the other side, you'll see the good fruits, you'll see the blessings in your own life, you'll be able to see the blessings in other people's life, you'll see that fruit with your own eyes.
• 49:54
SPEAKER_02: And so I really like how it points that out, how you'll see the fruits of both of these sides.
• 49:59
  unknown: Right.
• 49:59
SPEAKER_00: Literally, I do like that.
• 50:01
SPEAKER_00: Solomon's just so good at writing.
• 50:03
SPEAKER_00: Like, cause if you just take I know they keep going back to last week with Lady Folly and Lady Wisdom, but you could just take them out of those chapters and then just keep reapplying it to chapters, our current chapters this week.
• 50:17
SPEAKER_00: Because if you just imagine like Lady Wisdom or Lady Folly, the acting and and what's described in these chapters, it just blows your mind because you're like, people, this stuff actually happens.
• 50:30
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's all realistic.
• 50:31
SPEAKER_04: Okay, Proverbs 12:3 says, Wickedness never brings stability, but the godly have deep roots.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_04: And so when I when I read this, I immediately thought of the tumbleweeds from like cartoons that used to uh the wind would blow and they would fly.
• 50:46
SPEAKER_04: And so in my in my mind, I'm thinking the wicked are like tumbleweeds, right?
• 50:50
SPEAKER_04: They're moved by every bit of turbulence that blows or comes their way.
• 50:54
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 50:54
SPEAKER_04: But this verse also states that the godly have deep roots.
• 50:57
SPEAKER_04: So for the godly, I like to imagine an oak tree.
• 50:59
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 51:00
SPEAKER_04: Like you know, oak trees, you see an oak tree, you're like, that's a live oak tree, a hurricane might not even take it out.
• 51:05
SPEAKER_04: Like they have deep roots, they're they're grounded, nothing's moving them things.
• 51:08
SPEAKER_04: You you think that ain't going nowhere.
• 51:11
SPEAKER_04: And so it's like we ought to strive to be a pillar for God, like an oak tree.
• 51:16
SPEAKER_04: Like just be an oak tree.
• 51:17
SPEAKER_04: Yes, be an oak tree, not a tumbleweed.
• 51:20
  SPEAKER_00: Like from Sheriff Cali.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_00: Whenever you said tumbleweed, it made me think of Sheriff Cali.
• 51:24
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if any of y'all watched Sheriff Cali.
• 51:26
SPEAKER_00: Whenever I was little, we watched Sheriff Cali and there was a tumbleweed that would blow across.
• 51:29
SPEAKER_00: Yes, and there would be the little music that would go with it.
• 51:31
  SPEAKER_00: Wow, wow, wow.
• 51:33
SPEAKER_03: More of the be an oak tree.
• 51:35
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, be an oak tree.
• 51:36
SPEAKER_02: I really like that because that ties into fruits.
• 51:38
SPEAKER_02: Like if you just say all this stuff, but you don't actually like live it and internalize it.
• 51:42
SPEAKER_02: When the wind starts to blow, you're gonna float like that tumbleweed.
• 51:44
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 51:45
SPEAKER_02: But if you actually live this stuff and it's in your heart, then you're gonna be the tree and you're not gonna move.
• 51:50
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that can even parallel with Jesus' parable in the New Testament about the wise man who built his house upon the rock and then the foolish man that built his house upon the sand.
• 52:00
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 52:00
SPEAKER_00: Because you could say it all you want, but if you don't build your life upon the rock, then whenever the winds come and the rain comes and the hurricane, whatever, then your house is gonna literally just fall on the sand if you don't build it on the rock.
• 52:14
SPEAKER_04: And it's the same house.
• 52:15
SPEAKER_04: They built the same house, the same storm, but it was a different foundation.
• 52:18
SPEAKER_00: It was two different locations, two different foundations.
• 52:20
SPEAKER_00: So it matters where you build your house.
• 52:22
SPEAKER_00: The moral of the story, and your house is your life, FYI.
• 52:26
  SPEAKER_02: AK so fire, bro.
• 52:28
SPEAKER_02: It matters where you build your house.
• 52:29
  SPEAKER_02: I like that.
• 52:30
SPEAKER_04: Proverbs 11, verse 30 says, The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that woneth souls is wise.
• 52:38
SPEAKER_04: So um, we were just talking about trees, and we're talking about how uh the godly people have deep roots, and we talked like an oak tree.
• 52:46
SPEAKER_04: Well, in this verse, I'd like to imagine like the fruit of God is our roots, the fruits were our roots.
• 52:52
  SPEAKER_04: Ain't that catchy?
• 52:54
  SPEAKER_01: That's a song right now.
• 52:55
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and it's again it's like it's saying wise people win souls, because the wise people are not keeping what they know to themselves, they're talking about it.
• 53:04
SPEAKER_04: So it's we need to make it an active conscious decision to not keep.
• 53:08
SPEAKER_04: I heard one preacher say, if we had the cure to cancer, we're not just gonna keep it to ourselves, right?
• 53:13
SPEAKER_04: So we literally have the cure to this world.
• 53:16
SPEAKER_04: So why would we keep it to ourselves?
• 53:17
  SPEAKER_04: That's an unwise decision.
• 53:19
SPEAKER_04: Like just be wise, lose fear, and go out.
• 53:23
  SPEAKER_04: Just go.
• 53:24
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 53:24
SPEAKER_00: I saw a thing one time, and it was like, imagine you're sitting in your classroom, and the kid that sits right next to you in math or whatever subject it is, and you can see they're maybe struggling with whatever, but you never tell them about God.
• 53:37
SPEAKER_00: And then fast forward to judgment day, whenever they find like hypothetically, they find out that you know, and they're like, Why did you never tell me that this was real?
• 53:51
SPEAKER_00: You know, so like you can reach so many different people with your life and just with your um outreach.
• 54:01
SPEAKER_00: Because God has designed every single one of us to reach a different person.
• 54:06
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just be wise.
• 54:07
SPEAKER_02: I mean, and not to use that story as like a a guilty factor, like you shouldn't guilt yourself.
• 54:12
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, don't get like stories like that.
• 54:14
SPEAKER_02: But I mean, like, imagine if you were the student and Andrea's student or Andrea's classmate in math class.
• 54:19
SPEAKER_02: Imagine if that was you and you didn't know anything, and um you go through your whole life just living how you want to live.
• 54:25
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you try to be a good person, maybe you don't really care, but you still don't know, and then you get to the end of it all and find out that this girl that you knew for two years in high school um didn't even try to tell you.
• 54:37
SPEAKER_02: Like that would kind of that that kind of be like, bruh.
• 54:40
SPEAKER_03: Left you out of the know.
• 54:42
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 54:43
SPEAKER_02: So be wise, share what you learn.
• 54:45
SPEAKER_02: Like this, um, like if you've been following Christianity like at all, you kind of pick up on the theme that it's not all about you.
• 54:52
SPEAKER_02: So get it out there, be wise, spread this to people.
• 54:55
SPEAKER_02: Like, we're all we're here for other people.
• 54:58
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was good, Lincoln.
• 54:59
  SPEAKER_02: That was good.
• 55:00
  SPEAKER_02: Praise God, brother.
• 55:01
  SPEAKER_00: Praise the Lord.
• 55:03
SPEAKER_02: Alright, guys, we've talked about a lot today.
• 55:05
SPEAKER_02: We've continued Pastor Jared's really good series.
• 55:08
SPEAKER_02: We talked about, am I enough?
• 55:11
SPEAKER_02: Um, there's not much to really much to say that we haven't heard already.
• 55:15
SPEAKER_02: World of the story is if you try to base that question on things in your life, you're not gonna find the answer.
• 55:21
  SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be shaky.
• 55:22
SPEAKER_02: So realize the truth of the Bible, realize that you are enough simply because God called you.
• 55:28
  SPEAKER_02: Think about Moses.
• 55:29
SPEAKER_02: He had a lisp, he was insecure about that.
• 55:32
SPEAKER_02: He was like, God, I I can't do this, I can't go speak in front of the Pharaoh.
• 55:36
SPEAKER_02: But God was simply just like, bro, you're enough because I'm calling you to do this, I'm your creator, I'm calling you.
• 55:42
SPEAKER_02: So as soon as you internalize that, you'll realize that you are enough.
• 55:46
SPEAKER_02: And no matter what that is, ministry, career, school, you're enough simply because God calls you.
• 55:53
SPEAKER_02: And that's a very important truth to take in.
• 55:56
SPEAKER_02: So that's what I'll tell you to take in from this podcast.
• 55:59
SPEAKER_02: And then we've talked about Proverbs 10 through 12, continuing our series on Proverbs, and we hit that living these things will show fruit in your life, being wise, living righteous, that will show fruit in your life.
• 56:14
SPEAKER_02: So it's important that you look for that in the people you keep in your circle, and more importantly, look for it in yourself.
• 56:21
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 56:21
SPEAKER_02: Because if you live these things, you'll see the effects of it in your life.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_02: You'll see the effects of living righteous versus living wicked.
• 56:29
  SPEAKER_02: So it's important.
• 56:30
SPEAKER_02: Like last week, we hit on the invitation of folly and wisdom.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_02: These chapters were more about the effects of those decisions, like the long-term effects.
• 56:39
SPEAKER_02: Like if you live righteously, you will live the blessed life.
• 56:42
SPEAKER_02: You will have integrity, you will have these things, and it's important to it's important to listen to the word of God and base your life off of that.
• 56:52
  SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_00: Once again, Pastor Jared brought a word, and God's instructions were heard.
• 57:01
  SPEAKER_04: Yes.
• 57:01
SPEAKER_00: We're so glad that y'all were able to join us this week for our podcast.
• 57:06
SPEAKER_00: Please make sure to follow us on social media at KidsNetColling on Instagram so you can keep up with us there.

SPEAKER_00: And we hope you have a great week, and we can't wait to see y'all next week.
• 57:17
  SPEAKER_00: Bye everybody.
