- 5:17Speaker 2: twenty one right now here in Barry might make it
- 5:21Speaker 2: to twenty six across much of Central from not today.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Tonight we're down to eleffn with clouds. Looks like tomorrow
- 5:31Speaker 2: mostly cloudy, snowshowers and sixteen Wednesday looks well. Thirty three,
- 5:37Speaker 2: Well twenty three on Wednesday with partly cloudy sky, some
- 5:42Speaker 2: snowshowers in the afternoon, but the thirty three comes on Thursday.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Enjoy it while you can really by the end of
- 5:51Speaker 2: the week, because Friday we're looking at twenty one for
- 5:54Speaker 2: a high, and then Saturday Friday night into Saturday, I'm
- 6:00Speaker 2: guessing that there's gonna be a whole hell of a
- 6:02Speaker 2: lot of wind. And I'm no meteorolgist, but we're gonna
- 6:05Speaker 2: go from a high of twenty one on Friday to
- 6:08Speaker 2: a high of negative one on Saturday, at least that's
- 6:16Speaker 2: what they're saying. Sunday daytime high five, and then all
- 6:23Speaker 2: of next week daytime highs only hovering in the mid teens.

- 8:43Speaker 2: in Vermont. We have, we got a great week for you.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Kevin Ellis is going to be joining me tomorrow morning
- 8:52Speaker 2: right here, which I so much look forward to. Great guy.
- 8:58Speaker 2: We're gonna be talking to a whole will have a
- 9:00Speaker 2: lot about football this week for sure, And I know
- 9:03Speaker 2: this is not a sports podcast, but my god, I
- 9:07Speaker 2: mean we have to talk about it, and we will.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Community calendar is jammed, lots of stuff that happened this weekend,
- 9:21Speaker 2: some great stuff in our community. Had the Bridal Show
- 9:25Speaker 2: going on over at the Elks. It was just a
- 9:28Speaker 2: great weekend and I hope you got a chance to
- 9:32Speaker 2: get out a little bit, made some jerky and some
- 9:38Speaker 2: sausage with my friend Twayne, watched a football game, ate
- 9:44Speaker 2: some great food, some wings. Got over to G and
- 9:48Speaker 2: Jed's yesterday for the game and some great food and
- 9:53Speaker 2: some incredible and much needed laughs. Just a great weekend.
- 10:00Speaker 2: The legislative session that is happening right now in Montpelier
- 10:06Speaker 2: has a lot of people talking. There's a lot of
- 10:10Speaker 2: stuff that's being written up in the papers about it.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I'm seeing it everywhere on social media. There's a lot
- 10:17Speaker 2: of big concern and a lot of big, huge issues
- 10:21Speaker 2: here in Vermont to tackle. Has there ever not been
- 10:28Speaker 2: education reform, opioid use, homelessness, affordability, the cost of health insurance.
- 10:39Speaker 2: These are all real big things here in Vermont. The
- 10:44Speaker 2: Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce is going to be hosting
- 10:47Speaker 2: an invitation only gathering to connect with Vermont legislative leaders
- 10:53Speaker 2: so that you have an opportunity to speak with them
- 10:59Speaker 2: face to face, and not only that, but also network
- 11:04Speaker 2: with business professionals that will be there as well. Where
- 11:08Speaker 2: the Governor's Ballroom, Capitol Plaza Hotel on Wednesday night, February fourth.
- 11:13Speaker 2: It's from five to seven. I say invitation only because
- 11:17Speaker 2: you got to get on a list through the Chamber
- 11:20Speaker 2: of Commerce, get in touch with the Central from Old
- 11:22Speaker 2: Chamber of Commerce either on Facebook or just online and
- 11:27Speaker 2: tell them you'd like to be there Capital Plaza, Governor's Ballroom, Wednesday,
- 11:32Speaker 2: February fourth. A lot of things that we're going to
- 11:35Speaker 2: be talking about on that night, and you're going to
- 11:39Speaker 2: be hearing me talk about it. Actually I've been talking
- 11:42Speaker 2: about it a ton, but you can hear more about
- 11:45Speaker 2: this because we want you to be there. Who want
- 11:48Speaker 2: you to be there. I'm going to run down some
- 11:51Speaker 2: of the things that are happening in Vermont this morning,
- 11:56Speaker 2: some of the things that are happening in our nation,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and some of the things is happening in this crazy
- 12:02Speaker 2: world in which we live in with which if if you,
- 12:06Speaker 2: unless you've been living under a rock, if you've seen
- 12:09Speaker 2: what's happening over the weekend, not much of it's good,
- 12:15Speaker 2: if any of it is good, And I know today's
- 12:20Speaker 2: blue Monday, and you know, but just being honest with you, man,
- 12:24Speaker 2: there's some heavy, heavy stuff going on in the world
- 12:27Speaker 2: right now. I want to ask you, though I'm gonna
- 12:31Speaker 2: and I've got this up on the page right now,
- 12:37Speaker 2: the Facebook question of the Day this morning. Really interested
- 12:40Speaker 2: to hear what you have to say about this, and
- 12:43Speaker 2: Kevin and I are going to be chatting about this tomorrow.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Some of your responses. Let's say, you about the possibility
- 12:56Speaker 2: that pretty soon Americans might be able to dip into
- 13:00Speaker 2: their four oh one ks to help with the down
- 13:04Speaker 2: payment on a new home. This is something you're going
- 13:07Speaker 2: to be hearing a lot more about this week, whether
- 13:13Speaker 2: or not this is going to fly. Trump administration trying
- 13:16Speaker 2: to make it happen. I'm asking you, is is this
- 13:23Speaker 2: a good plan do you think to combat affordability and
- 13:30Speaker 2: to help with a housing market push? Or is this
- 13:36Speaker 2: possibly going to backfire because supply is not really in
- 13:43Speaker 2: line with demand? What do you think? What do you
- 13:48Speaker 2: think about this? What is it? Fifty nine and a half?
- 13:55Speaker 2: I think is when we get to dip into the
- 13:56Speaker 2: four oh one k without any penalties, but to get
- 14:01Speaker 2: into it sooner for the sake of getting into a
- 14:07Speaker 2: home without a penalty, it might be interesting. What might
- 14:14Speaker 2: happen here? Don't know, but I ask you, what say you?
- 14:19Speaker 2: What do you think? Do you think this is not
- 14:24Speaker 2: going to work out as well as it is being
- 14:30Speaker 2: said that it potentially could? I don't know, man, there's
- 14:35Speaker 2: a I don't know. I have some thoughts on it,
- 14:40Speaker 2: but I am more interested on what you have to say.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I'm going to show you some of the roads here
- 14:47Speaker 2: this morning, and for the most part they look like
- 14:50Speaker 2: they're pretty clear. My drive in was not bad at all.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It did hear some trucks going by with some product
- 14:59Speaker 2: that they dropp but for the most part, things are
- 15:03Speaker 2: moving pretty well on eighty nine. So we show you
- 15:07Speaker 2: some shots here. Here's the high spot up in Brookfield.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Pictures of Hartford, Brookfield again, Bethel and of course eighty
- 15:19Speaker 2: nine right there, Exit ten in Waterbury, so not bad
- 15:26Speaker 2: South Burlington right there, dry roads. So just go easy,
- 15:31Speaker 2: be careful and remember this is something worth mentioning here
- 15:37Speaker 2: to receive road reports, weather reports, emergency alerts directly. It's
- 15:45Speaker 2: a great idea to sign up for Vermont Alert VTLERT
- 15:49Speaker 2: dot CoV if you haven't already, I get it, Sharylyn
- 15:53Speaker 2: gets it. And we're always watching and listening and paying
- 15:58Speaker 2: attention to what happens so that we can pass it
- 16:01Speaker 2: along to you. But yeah, it is a VT alert
- 16:07Speaker 2: dot gov. Of course we're going to talk about football
- 16:14Speaker 2: this morning, yes, of course. Before we do, though, we
- 16:21Speaker 2: have a waking up to the news. What do you
- 16:24Speaker 2: got thirty nine degrees in in Fort Pierce, Stacy Holden,
- 16:32Speaker 2: it's man, it is chili down there. What they had
- 16:36Speaker 2: some that a little bit of snow in Georgia, I
- 16:38Speaker 2: think accumulating like an inch, which if you know, they
- 16:47Speaker 2: shut down down there Georgia, Florida. When there's even a
- 16:54Speaker 2: flake in the sky, everything shuts down. But thirty nine
- 17:00Speaker 2: degrees wow. State line he's saying in the Panhandle is
- 17:05Speaker 2: where the now is heard about Georgia. But yeah, woke
- 17:13Speaker 2: up this morning to some sad news about this this
- 17:17Speaker 2: fire at home in Swanton this morning. WCAX says there's
- 17:22Speaker 2: no word on injuries. Police are asking people to avoid
- 17:25Speaker 2: first in liberty streets. But horrible fire structure fire. We've
- 17:33Speaker 2: got the video up on aired out that was taken
- 17:36Speaker 2: by the WCAX team. But got to hope everybody's all right.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Other headlines this morning, we have fromont Day Police investigating
- 17:47Speaker 2: the death of a Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility inmate. I'll
- 17:51Speaker 2: have the details of that story up there. And then
- 17:56Speaker 2: we've got this twenty year old guy who's facingmultiple charges,
- 18:01Speaker 2: including attempted murder after shooting another one another guy a
- 18:08Speaker 2: Saturday night in Colchester, Dakota Ward from Enosburgh facing charges
- 18:14Speaker 2: for attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and
- 18:19Speaker 2: possession of a weapons charge. Looks like he might be
- 18:24Speaker 2: camped out in the big House for a little while
- 18:26Speaker 2: twenty five year old from Milton is recovering from wounds
- 18:32Speaker 2: to his face walked into, walk into, walked into police
- 18:41Speaker 2: headquarters after being shot in the face. He's at the
- 18:45Speaker 2: University of a Mount Medical Center recovering. Incredible. Wow. Stuff
- 18:56Speaker 2: that happens over the weekend is just so eye opening.
- 18:59Speaker 2: The national headlines we've got in that there's so many,
- 19:03Speaker 2: and I'll try to put them up up on the
- 19:07Speaker 2: page so you can see. We have the Army putting
- 19:11Speaker 2: fifteen hundred soldiers on standby for possible deployment where Minnesota.
- 19:26Speaker 2: We have NASA astronauts on the Artemis two mission, all
- 19:38Speaker 2: moved to the launch pad and ready to go. Apparently
- 19:47Speaker 2: got this massive rocket to the launch pad on Saturday,
- 19:54Speaker 2: returning humans to the Moon. February sixth could be the
- 19:59Speaker 2: law launch if all goes well February sixth. This is
- 20:05Speaker 2: kind of kind of weird, exciting. I know many of
- 20:14Speaker 2: you believe that we never went to the Moon and
- 20:23Speaker 2: we're not going to be going on February sixth either.
- 20:25Speaker 2: It's going to be all staged. There's so many conspiracies
- 20:28Speaker 2: about this, it's amazing. But apparently this will. This Artemis
- 20:35Speaker 2: program is going to be returning humans to the Moon
- 20:40Speaker 2: since the first time since nineteen seventy two. Why in
- 20:44Speaker 2: the hell has it taken so long? Is it just money?
- 20:52Speaker 2: We'll see what happens. Was it the Artemis one that
- 20:58Speaker 2: shot up there in two an uncrewed a trip to
- 21:05Speaker 2: the Moon, and then we have Artemis three that's tentatively
- 21:11Speaker 2: scheduled for the summer of twenty twenty seven, when we're
- 21:18Speaker 2: going to be walking around on the surface, maybe building
- 21:22Speaker 2: a little um, you know, base camp of sorts. I
- 21:31Speaker 2: wonder if they'll have green Mountain coffee ca cups going
- 21:35Speaker 2: up there. I don't know, I don't know what's going
- 21:37Speaker 2: to happen. What else is happening. China and Russia collaborating
- 21:46Speaker 2: on a nuclear powered lunar base near the Moon's south pole. Okay,
- 21:55Speaker 2: some new stuff going on about chat GBT, and I'm
- 22:00Speaker 2: going to be posting this up for you to read about.
- 22:04Speaker 2: It feels like it was just yesterday that so many
- 22:08Speaker 2: of us were like chat what now? And new study
- 22:13Speaker 2: that sixty percent of Americans are using chat GBT, sixty
- 22:19Speaker 2: percent open AI and chat GBT is going to be
- 22:28Speaker 2: changing in twenty twenty six. There's going to be ads.
- 22:34Speaker 2: There's going to be new subscription tiers, but there's some
- 22:39Speaker 2: changes that are coming, major changes. If you rely on
- 22:46Speaker 2: Chat GBT, here we go supply and demand. If you
- 22:49Speaker 2: rely on it, you might be opening your wallet. And
- 22:57Speaker 2: of course you know it's it's not going to cost
- 23:00Speaker 2: you a fortune. But everything's going up. Spotify is going up,
- 23:07Speaker 2: and uh, you know, I mean there's so many big
- 23:13Speaker 2: businesses that are really relying on AI Open AI, big
- 23:18Speaker 2: time voice in interface changes, wow, personalization changes. I mean,
- 23:29Speaker 2: this is kind of kind of weird, man. And I
- 23:34Speaker 2: know my kid is going to be finding out about
- 23:38Speaker 2: all this stuff probably before I am, but it's coming
- 23:43Speaker 2: and it's coming fast. Let's talk sports. I'm gonna see
- 23:52Speaker 2: if I can get Logan on here, and I'm guessing
- 23:57Speaker 2: that he is probably a little tired, as many football
- 24:04Speaker 2: fans are this morning, and maybe even emotionally a little
- 24:10Speaker 2: tapped out on this Blue Monday, especially if you're a
- 24:15Speaker 2: Bills fan. But the the Broncos survived this incredible late
- 24:23Speaker 2: Bills push on Saturday night, and I was watching the
- 24:28Speaker 2: game with Dwayne and some friends and we were all
- 24:34Speaker 2: screaming winning in overtime with a twenty three yard field goal?
- 24:39Speaker 2: H Logan, what say you about that game?
- 24:44Speaker 3: The Rams are the Bills game.
- 24:46Speaker 2: The Bills, the Bills in Broncos game.
- 24:49Speaker 3: The Bills the Bills game was great. The Brails and
- 24:53Speaker 3: Broncos game was great. I mean, I but I mean
- 24:57Speaker 3: with with bo Nick's injury coming in, that's not really
- 25:02Speaker 3: not a really good sign for Denver, assuming they're trusting
- 25:06Speaker 3: their backup. Who who is a some guy named Jared
- 25:11Speaker 3: stidem Yeah, Jared Stidham.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yep, he's gonna start in the conference championship.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that'll be interesting to see for sure. Yes, Patriots,
- 25:21Speaker 3: I mean Patriots. Patriots won it. They crushed it. They
- 25:24Speaker 3: crushed the Texans. They crushed the Texans, and they're going
- 25:27Speaker 3: off to the AFC Championship to face the Broncos. Yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 3: so that'll be great. C J.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Stroud capitalizing on four interceptions.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah it sucks.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Yeah, sixteen to three. Texans just not bringing the goods
- 25:51Speaker 2: New England. No, just I mean they're playing at home, man,
- 25:56Speaker 2: they're destroying it.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Seattle crushes the forty nine Ers though, forty one to six.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, was that a football game? That wasn't even a
- 26:04Speaker 2: football No, that was no.
- 26:06Speaker 3: You watched like a massacre. He saw a bloodshed. I
- 26:12Speaker 3: mean Brouck Hey, I mean I I was. I called
- 26:15Speaker 3: it too, I said, I was, like, I was really
- 26:17Speaker 3: hoping the Seahawks would do it again because we held
- 26:20Speaker 3: Brock Bowser and no touchdowns in week seventeen, and then
- 26:23Speaker 3: we held him to no touchdowns again in the divisional game.
- 26:27Speaker 3: So huge, huge run for Seattle. But Seattle and Rams.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Oh. Also, I gotta say that over that overtime was crazy.
- 26:35Speaker 3: But the Bear the Bears had it. I mean the
- 26:38Speaker 3: Bears were looking good except the overtime. They looked they
- 26:40Speaker 3: looked terrible in ot. Yeah. I don't know if he
- 26:42Speaker 3: saw ot, but they looked.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I didn't see that. That that late game last night.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I know it was a thriller. Oh I know that. Yeah,
- 26:53Speaker 2: I know that was a costly interception by Caleb Williams,
- 26:58Speaker 2: but I did not. I did not see that. Watch
- 27:00Speaker 2: the Pats game.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Oh fair enough.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but did you stay up to the end of
- 27:06Speaker 2: that Bears Rams game?
- 27:09Speaker 3: Yeah? No, I saw the ending, Like I said, I
- 27:11Speaker 3: just yeah, it was just offensively the Bears they were well,
- 27:15Speaker 3: like like at the end of the fourth quarter, like
- 27:17Speaker 3: when they came back and had that massive like when
- 27:20Speaker 3: he passed that massive dart too. I think it was Allan.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I think it was Keenan Allen. I'm not sure, but
- 27:26Speaker 3: I know that he threw that dart to tie the
- 27:28Speaker 3: game up seventeen seventeen to send it to overtime. And
- 27:31Speaker 3: they looked good. And then I don't know what happened
- 27:34Speaker 3: in that overtime. They looked sloppy. They just didn't look
- 27:37Speaker 3: like they I would describe as if like they forgot
- 27:40Speaker 3: how to play football for a minute. It just didn't
- 27:42Speaker 3: look it just didn't look good. I don't know what
- 27:44Speaker 3: happened obviously, like you said, costly interception. And so yeah,
- 27:50Speaker 3: we got a I mean, we got a crazy looking
- 27:52Speaker 3: AFC and NFC game next Sunday, though, Yeah, I mean
- 27:57Speaker 3: Seahawks ram Divisional championship. Man, that's going to be intense. Yep,
- 28:04Speaker 3: Seattle has home field advantage in Lambeau or not Lambo
- 28:09Speaker 3: sorry from the stadium loomenfield bad Yeah, twelve stadium, we
- 28:14Speaker 3: have the we have home field advantage. And then Patriots.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, Denver, Denver has home field advantage
- 28:22Speaker 3: for the Patriots. Yeah, Denver game. I mean, this will
- 28:26Speaker 3: be a crazy matchup for sure, considering I mean, because
- 28:30Speaker 3: like it could be any Super Bowl at this point.
- 28:32Speaker 3: It could be like it's because if say, if Seattle
- 28:35Speaker 3: does win, it's like we could see a Bronco Seahawks
- 28:38Speaker 3: matchup rematch again in the Super Bowl. We could see
- 28:41Speaker 3: Patriots and Seahawks again from eleven years ago, you know.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Or if the Rams win, this is the chance for
- 28:48Speaker 3: the Rams to get their second championship after beating what
- 28:52Speaker 3: Cincinnati about three years ago for Super Bowl. So I mean,
- 28:58Speaker 3: either way, all these all these four teams left look
- 29:01Speaker 3: great and it's gonna be one hell of a Super Bowl.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I can tell you that much.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Bo Nicks, Uh, first of all, injured? What a
- 29:11Speaker 2: what a tough guy though? Man play you know how
- 29:14Speaker 2: long did he play with a broken ankle?
- 29:17Speaker 3: Jesus, Yeah, he's playing with a broken ankle, while also
- 29:21Speaker 3: being like he's what a second year? He's the second year?
- 29:24Speaker 2: Is he?
- 29:24Speaker 3: Or no, he's a second year, he's a second year.
- 29:26Speaker 3: He was a rookie last year.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Surgery tomorrow for Knicks.
- 29:31Speaker 3: So well, that was quick considering it just happened. They
- 29:35Speaker 3: were they really wanted to get his surgery done.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I know it's good though, and and yeah,
- 29:41Speaker 2: I mean what was your favorite game through the weekend?
- 29:44Speaker 3: Though, I mean for me personally, it was on the
- 29:47Speaker 3: Seahawks game, just based off of like as being a
- 29:49Speaker 3: Seahawks fan. But I will say though, in terms of
- 29:52Speaker 3: not being a Seahawks fan, I definitely can safely say
- 29:55Speaker 3: that matchup between the I want to, Yeah, I want to.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I want to go with the matchup of the Bill.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I think the Bills in Broncos game was really tough,
- 30:05Speaker 3: heavy hitter. It was definitely the heavy hitter. Oh did
- 30:08Speaker 3: you see Sean Sean McDermot, the Bills head coach just
- 30:12Speaker 3: got fired to they just fired him.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yes, And there's a lawsuit that's pending right now. The
- 30:20Speaker 2: Bills are suing the NFL. From what I understand, uh
- 30:26Speaker 2: for that that that controversial uh play And I can't
- 30:31Speaker 2: I can't remember who it was, whether or not the
- 30:33Speaker 2: ball was caught or not? Oh, who was it? Some
- 30:37Speaker 2: Stacey will help me out here? Uh, that that huge
- 30:41Speaker 2: controversial play.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I'm I sadly didn't see that game, so
- 30:47Speaker 3: I can't safely say, like, oh, what that was. But
- 30:50Speaker 3: I I will say though, like from what I heard
- 30:53Speaker 3: and saw stat wise, it looked it looked intense, it
- 30:56Speaker 3: looked good.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Yeah it was, it was, but the way yeah, I mean.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Yeah, But to be fair, I the thing is the Bills.
- 31:07Speaker 3: The Bills have sadly been at this road so many times,
- 31:11Speaker 3: so I do feel bad for them as a franchise.
- 31:15Speaker 3: I mean, but them firing their head coach is definitely
- 31:18Speaker 3: like a huge shock because it's like he's brought them
- 31:22Speaker 3: to the AFC Championship in multip like they've been They've
- 31:26Speaker 3: been to the AFC Championship and have been in the
- 31:28Speaker 3: playoffs like for the past six seven seasons, and so
- 31:33Speaker 3: I hands down just think that I don't know, I
- 31:38Speaker 3: think honestly, like after them firing Sean, I I honestly
- 31:42Speaker 3: wouldn't be surprised if we see, like Josh Allen requesting
- 31:46Speaker 3: a trade within the next couple of years. I don't know,
- 31:49Speaker 3: I don't think I think right now, I think what
- 31:51Speaker 3: I think. The Bills looked good when they had Stefan
- 31:54Speaker 3: Diggs and they had like an actual team, and right
- 31:57Speaker 3: now they just you know, they just don't seem to
- 31:59Speaker 3: have much going for them offensively. So I'm just hoping
- 32:03Speaker 3: because Josh, because Josh Allen really needs. He needs like
- 32:07Speaker 3: he needs a wide receiver. He needs someone that's going
- 32:09Speaker 3: to catch the ball for him. That's what he needs. Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 3: he needs someone that's reliable for sure, a little bit
- 32:15Speaker 3: more reliable.
- 32:16Speaker 2: It was, it was, it was. It was painful to
- 32:20Speaker 2: see the look on Josh Allen's face.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, no, well he's disappointed. I don't blame him.
- 32:27Speaker 3: He like, you know, this is the first, like I mean,
- 32:29Speaker 3: this is the first opportunity he had where he wasn't
- 32:32Speaker 3: going to have to face the chiefs. And you know,
- 32:35Speaker 3: it was a tough battle, like I mean, they they
- 32:37Speaker 3: it was thirty to thirty, you know, by like going
- 32:40Speaker 3: into the overtime, it was thirty and thirty. So it's
- 32:42Speaker 3: like it was just intense, like you know, And so
- 32:45Speaker 3: for Josh Allen, it's definitely, you know, definitely you know, stressful,
- 32:48Speaker 3: especially like you know, losing this late and like you know,
- 32:51Speaker 3: he didn't make it this time. So it sucks.
- 32:53Speaker 2: But it was it was Sjosh Allen's pass to Brandon Cooks,
- 32:59Speaker 2: you know, over time that was wrestled out of the U,
- 33:05Speaker 2: out of the hands of Jake Kwan, McMillan and officials
- 33:12Speaker 2: ruled that McMillan had the ball before Cooks was down
- 33:16Speaker 2: by contact, and I don't know, man, it was, it was,
- 33:26Speaker 2: it was played and over. It should have been reviewed
- 33:29Speaker 2: a little bit more. I agree with with Stacy here.
- 33:33Speaker 2: It seems like the review process on that should have
- 33:38Speaker 2: gone on a little bit longer, you know, bathroom for
- 33:45Speaker 2: that one.
- 33:46Speaker 3: It should have been exactly No, I I definitely will say,
- 33:51Speaker 3: like you know, I'll have to take a look at it.
- 33:53Speaker 3: I'll have to see the play myself and definitely review
- 33:55Speaker 3: it when I'm when I'm live Saturday, I'll definitely review it.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Then Christian McCaffrey forty nine ers also injured, so that'll
- 34:08Speaker 2: be interesting. I mean, yeah, second team, Yeah, that's second
- 34:13Speaker 2: lost to Seattle.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well it really was, like I mean, it
- 34:21Speaker 3: really was a bad start for them, even from the go,
- 34:23Speaker 3: considering Seattle was up seventeen points to nothing at one
- 34:27Speaker 3: point and they got the field goal to make it
- 34:30Speaker 3: three points, and then Seattle brought it up to twenty
- 34:33Speaker 3: four to three. Then it just continued, especially from specifically
- 34:37Speaker 3: from Kenneth Walker nineteen carries one hundred and sixteen yards
- 34:41Speaker 3: in three touchdowns. Absolute ballgame for running back Kenneth Walker.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah, what about what about college football? We we got Miami
- 34:55Speaker 2: and Indiana teams getting ready for the National Champion Chips
- 35:01Speaker 2: Game semi final wins tonight, that's the night ye have seven.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I remember I reviewed it last week on the pot
- 35:10Speaker 3: My podcast. Last week I reviewed it. Yeah, I know, Indiana.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Indiana looks crazy. I mean, shoot, it's gonna be hard game,
- 35:19Speaker 3: hard fought game for sure for both teams. Both teams
- 35:23Speaker 3: looked great.
- 35:24Speaker 2: I wanted to I didn't get a chance to catch
- 35:27Speaker 2: the Athletics podcast on Saturday morning, but did you were
- 35:31Speaker 2: able to talk about the scandal?
- 35:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 35:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but the scandal yeah, oh yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I definitely talked about it. I talked about the fact that,
- 35:41Speaker 3: you know, in a nutshell, it was there. I listed
- 35:44Speaker 3: some of the teams that were, like some of the
- 35:47Speaker 3: colleges that were a part of it, like, for example,
- 35:49Speaker 3: Tulane was a part of it, Southern Missouri, you know,
- 35:53Speaker 3: a couple others. So, uh, you know, they listed the
- 35:56Speaker 3: name of the schools and then they came out with
- 35:59Speaker 3: some players' names. You'll have to review it, but I
- 36:04Speaker 3: definitely talked about there was definitely they've at least named already,
- 36:07Speaker 3: like publicly, like five or six college players already so far,
- 36:11Speaker 3: so a couple of players have already been you know named.
- 36:15Speaker 3: I mean, I I stand with the fact that I
- 36:18Speaker 3: think that I don't think because you asked. You asked
- 36:20Speaker 3: me the question which I also talked about, was you know,
- 36:23Speaker 3: do you think March madness will be affected by this?
- 36:26Speaker 3: And I still stand behind it. I think no. I
- 36:28Speaker 3: think the best thing for the NCAA to do is
- 36:31Speaker 3: simply to suspend each of the players that were involved
- 36:34Speaker 3: for at least the remainder of the season, if not indefinitely,
- 36:37Speaker 3: depending on how you know, how bad on the spectrum
- 36:40Speaker 3: they were in terms of participating in this gambling. But yeah, no,
- 36:46Speaker 3: I just think that they simply should be suspended and
- 36:49Speaker 3: the schools themselves, unless proven otherwise, you know, they shouldn't.
- 36:53Speaker 3: The schools themselves should not be you know, looked in
- 36:56Speaker 3: a bad light unless they were involved. But either way,
- 37:01Speaker 3: definitely a crazy situation.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I've heard that this is a permanent tarnish, this is
- 37:07Speaker 2: a stain on NCAA ball that will not be able
- 37:12Speaker 2: to wash out. That there's skepticism, there's a stigma now
- 37:19Speaker 2: that what can we trust even if we you know,
- 37:23Speaker 2: we catch these guys, we penalize them, We set a
- 37:26Speaker 2: precedence for others that are that are thinking about doing
- 37:31Speaker 2: something like this. Hey, here's here's here's what the penalty
- 37:35Speaker 2: is going to be. But how much of this, how
- 37:37Speaker 2: much of this stuff is is going on right now
- 37:41Speaker 2: under our eyes that we don't even see, we're not
- 37:44Speaker 2: even aware of. What can we trust?
- 37:47Speaker 3: I mean true considering considering a lot of some of
- 37:49Speaker 3: these guys that were part of this, like this happened.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Some of these guys did this back in like twenty three,
- 37:54Speaker 3: twenty four, So you know, some of these guys were
- 37:57Speaker 3: doing have been doing this for two years now, and
- 37:59Speaker 3: now they're fine being caught.
- 38:00Speaker 2: So yeah, and you know, the NBA stuff with the
- 38:04Speaker 2: mob involved, you know, a couple was a couple of
- 38:07Speaker 2: months ago. I mean, there's I don't know, maybe all
- 38:10Speaker 2: that was crazy. I don't know.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I know it's hard to say, but I mean hopefully,
- 38:16Speaker 3: like you know, hopefully that cleans up. Like if not,
- 38:20Speaker 3: you know, like you said, you know, it's just gonna
- 38:22Speaker 3: become like I mean, if like you know, obviously like
- 38:25Speaker 3: if in some cases, like some of these players get
- 38:27Speaker 3: straight up like you know, kicked out of the league.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I mean again, that makes sense too, because you just
- 38:31Speaker 3: shouldn't be gambling, especially sports betting, because like the thing is,
- 38:36Speaker 3: these players themselves were being offered roughly like ten to
- 38:40Speaker 3: thirty thousand dollars give or take to lose the games. Yeah,
- 38:44Speaker 3: so then these people who were betting on them, who
- 38:46Speaker 3: were paying them, like so for example, these like rich
- 38:49Speaker 3: you know, these these sharks were like paying these players,
- 38:52Speaker 3: you know, hey, I'll give you twenty thousand dollars to
- 38:54Speaker 3: you know, lose, and then they would lose, and then
- 38:57Speaker 3: that person that gave them twenty thousand dollars just cash
- 39:00Speaker 3: made like a million dollars or close to a million
- 39:02Speaker 3: right off just that one bet. So it's like you've
- 39:05Speaker 3: got you've got like you know, like sharks basically making
- 39:08Speaker 3: millions off of these players, and these players are being like, hey,
- 39:11Speaker 3: I'm being off for twenty grand upfront just to lose
- 39:14Speaker 3: this game. I'm gonna do it. It looks promising. So
- 39:17Speaker 3: it's it's sad, but it's you know, it's really.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Sad, but you know, and there's a difference between sports
- 39:23Speaker 2: betting and flat out fraud and fixing games exactly. You know,
- 39:33Speaker 2: we need to make sure that that gray area that
- 39:37Speaker 2: we don't cross lines here. I mean, this is I
- 39:40Speaker 2: don't know, man. It has left a bad taste in
- 39:44Speaker 2: the mouth of many basketball fans and pardon the pun here,
- 39:49Speaker 2: but I hope we can rebound. I really do, especially
- 39:53Speaker 2: at the NCAA. You know, I don't know, man, I
- 39:57Speaker 2: don't know.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I mean, I still I still stand behind it. I
- 39:59Speaker 3: don't think they're gonna stop march madness over this. But
- 40:02Speaker 3: like you said, it's definitely it's definitely a big it's
- 40:04Speaker 3: a big scandal. It's it's definitely gonna be like something
- 40:08Speaker 3: that people will remember from probably like ten years from now,
- 40:11Speaker 3: you know. So it's sad, and it sucks that it
- 40:15Speaker 3: has to be, you know, especially it's sad. It's sad.
- 40:17Speaker 3: It's more sad because it especially it's coming from all
- 40:19Speaker 3: these young players. Yeah, it's like a lot of these
- 40:22Speaker 3: guys are like eighteen to twenty years old, give a take,
- 40:26Speaker 3: and so it's like, you know, they're probably gonna lose
- 40:29Speaker 3: their opportunity to play ball. And it's like, you know,
- 40:31Speaker 3: they probably you know, assuming you know, say, assuming some
- 40:35Speaker 3: of these guys have been playing since they were fourteen
- 40:37Speaker 3: years old, to give or take me fifteen, you know younger.
- 40:39Speaker 3: It's like they've worked their way up to get to
- 40:42Speaker 3: this point and now they're about to lose it all
- 40:44Speaker 3: because they wanted to gamble. So it's sad.
- 40:46Speaker 2: But it's money talks, man, money, money talks, and it's
- 40:51Speaker 2: it's the root of all evil. So we'll see what happens. Man.
- 40:54Speaker 2: But listen, brother, thank you so much for your time.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Logan this morning, Saturday morning, this coming Saturday morning.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Yes, you can catch me on Athletics the Athletics Podcast
- 41:06Speaker 3: Saturdays ten thirty ten.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Awesome, thanks brother, thank you, appreciate you. Yeah, man, Logan
- 41:13Speaker 2: loose right there, this coming Saturday morning, he is gonna
- 41:16Speaker 2: be so worked up. He's probably gonna have popcorn in here.
- 41:20Speaker 2: He's probably gonna be throwing popcorn kernels. Who knows. With
- 41:24Speaker 2: Logan Loose, he gets so excited, so worked up Saturday morning,
- 41:28Speaker 2: ten thirty, he'll be set in a beautiful stage for
- 41:34Speaker 2: football this coming Saturday morning. Yeah, world news. I tried
- 41:43Speaker 2: to look away from a lot of it this over
- 41:47Speaker 2: the weekend. This morning, I had to look a little
- 41:50Speaker 2: bit of it. Last night about seven forty five the
- 41:56Speaker 2: news out of Spain about this railcrash, this high speed
- 42:02Speaker 2: train collision. Thirty nine people confirmed dead. Efforts to recover
- 42:11Speaker 2: the bodies are continuing. The death toll is likely to rise.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Somebodies found as far away as several hundred feet from
- 42:21Speaker 2: the crash. Seven last night, I think is when I
- 42:27Speaker 2: started getting the pings on the phone about that horrible
- 42:32Speaker 2: news man. What was it like, almost three hundred people
- 42:36Speaker 2: on those trains. The news on Trump threatening eight European
- 42:45Speaker 2: countries with ten tariffs starting in February for opposing US
- 42:53Speaker 2: control of Greenland? What say you about this? Got an
- 43:00Speaker 2: opinion that you dare to post this morning on that
- 43:17Speaker 2: things are just so contentious? I mean, God, we have
- 43:22Speaker 2: five thousand people killed in protests across Iran, including roughly
- 43:30Speaker 2: five hundred security personnel. Human rights groups say they have
- 43:36Speaker 2: verified over thirty nine hundred people dead, with potentially thousands
- 43:42Speaker 2: more believed to be killed. The unrest is believed to
- 43:45Speaker 2: be the deadliest since the country's Islamic Revolution back in
- 43:52Speaker 2: nineteen seventy nine. Comes as President Donald Trump appears to
- 44:03Speaker 2: have back down from threats to strike to run, though
- 44:10Speaker 2: he reiterated calls for regime change on Saturday. Trump cited
- 44:18Speaker 2: Iran's alleged decision to refrain from eight hundred planned executions
- 44:24Speaker 2: in his decision to back down. However, the US last
- 44:29Speaker 2: week dispatched an aircraft carrier, the USS Abraham Lincoln, which
- 44:36Speaker 2: is going to take a couple of days to arrive
- 44:40Speaker 2: in the Middle East, but it is on its way.
- 44:45Speaker 2: US officials say another decision could come within weeks, maybe less.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Iran right now into its twelfth day, maybe thirteenth day
- 45:02Speaker 2: of a nationwide internet blackout. The video footage incredible, doubting
- 45:18Speaker 2: highly that crowds on demand is able to get crowds
- 45:23Speaker 2: into that area, especially for a few hundred bucks. Unreal.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Man.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Before I head out, let's give you a little bit
- 45:42Speaker 2: of feel good because my god, man, I mean, it's
- 45:46Speaker 2: like this just so much, so much on this blue Monday.
- 45:58Speaker 2: We have a Let's give you something that warms the
- 46:00Speaker 2: heart a little bit, and I'll put the link right
- 46:03Speaker 2: up for you. We have a couple in Virginia that
- 46:08Speaker 2: just had their dream wedding seven decades after they tied
- 46:16Speaker 2: the knot the first time, ninety and ninety one years old,
- 46:29Speaker 2: Francis and Harold Puff. I think is their last name.
- 46:36Speaker 2: I'll put the story up in the link here. They
- 46:39Speaker 2: eloped in their twenties and finally got their real wedding
- 46:48Speaker 2: on their seventieth anniversary, walked down the aisle, exchanged rings,
- 46:54Speaker 2: said their I do's all in front of their family
- 46:58Speaker 2: and friends, all the things that they never got to do.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Seventy years is a long time to spend with anybody,
- 47:09Speaker 2: and the fact that they did this is just fantastic.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Happened over the weekend. I love it. Love stuff like that,
- 47:18Speaker 2: and I'll again, I'll put the link up and you
- 47:20Speaker 2: can share it. Find something good, find something positive to
- 47:25Speaker 2: think about, get out, get involved with your community. Don't
- 47:33Speaker 2: just bury your face in your phone and pay attention
- 47:37Speaker 2: to what's coming down the pipe, on the tube or anywhere.
