- 0:00Genesis chapter 31 let us pray our Father who's higher, who's
- 0:06greater, who's better than any other God.
- 0:09All the other gods are just wood and stone.
- 0:13They're just nothing but ashes and a heat pile.
- 0:18They're dung, Father. So I pray in the mighty name of
- 0:21Jesus Christ today that you'll be high and exalted above every
- 0:26other self-made entity. God, we breakdown the spirit of
- 0:30mammon, the spirit of money, the spirit of prosperity, the spirit
- 0:34of materialism. God we step into the reality
- 0:37that you're moving all around us, God and that we can rest in
- 0:42your promises than your provision that you're feeding
- 0:44us, You're clothing us God that we have everything we need in
- 0:48Christ Jesus. There's no lack in your house,
- 0:51God. So Lord, I pray that as we open
- 0:54up your word that the Spirit of God will well up within us and
- 0:57teach us, Lord, for you are awesome and mighty.
- 1:01You are our everything. You are literally right beside
- 1:05us. You're in the room you're
- 1:06teaching us. I decrease as you increase, we
- 1:09give you the center stage. It's you Father and you alone
- 1:12that we are here for. So God, come and get your glory.
- 1:15We love you Yahweh, we love you Yeshua, we love you a spirit
- 1:20through Santa, we love you. So come Father, come.
- 1:24The Spirit and the bride say come.
- 1:26We look up, we see our redemption is drawing near and
- 1:29we know that our rewards are with you.
- 1:32So come and set us on fire, set us ablaze.
- 1:36God, I pray that you will fan the flame.
- 1:40Father, give a zeal for your house and let it consume us,
- 1:43Lord, for you are mighty to save.
- 1:45So God, save them. Save them the way that you saved
- 1:49us. God, bring them into the fold.
- 1:51We follow the straight and the narrow path.
- 1:54We come in the gate. God, help us, God, to take the
- 1:58next step of obedience, whatever that is.
- 2:01Lord, help us not to stay in suspended animation.
- 2:04Lord, I pray that we will have the courage, Lord, to step out
- 2:08of the boat, step onto the water.
- 2:10God and where you are. Father, we just want to be.
- 2:13Lord, we pray for the man in white to continue to reveal
- 2:16himself to all of the closed off nations around the globe.
- 2:20God, I pray for the underground church.
- 2:23Lord, give them even more zeal for your house.
- 2:26God, I pray for church here in America.
- 2:29Father, I pray that you Lord will come and get your glory.
- 2:32God, that will let go of our complacency, God and our
- 2:36lukewarmness. Father, I pray God you vomit us
- 2:39out God, and that we will be on fire for you.
- 2:43God, we will not be lukewarm. Lord, we will either be cold and
- 2:48refreshing or we will be hot, Lord and I pray God that you
- 2:51will keep the love of your Saints hot.
- 2:55God, let us not burnout. Lord, let us not grow calloused
- 2:59and cold. Father, I pray you increase the
- 3:02faith of your Saints. Lord, we pray for the church at
- 3:04large all over this globe. God, for you are mighty, You are
- 3:09our everything, You are our breath.
- 3:11You are. Father, you are so worthy.
- 3:13You are magnificent. Lord, hide me, hide my words,
- 3:17hide my thoughts. Lord, and you come in and you,
- 3:20Lord, wreck our theology, wreck our doctrine.
- 3:23God, save them. Lord, save them to the utmost.
- 3:26Your arm is not too short to save the God of Abraham, Isaac,
- 3:31and Jacob, the God of Israel. Father, we pray for the peace in
- 3:35Zion. God, we pray for the Millennial
- 3:38temple to come. God, rapture your Saints, give
- 3:41us our rewards. Father, make us the priest.
- 3:44Make us kings. God, I pray, Lord, that you will
- 3:48be our everything are All in all.
- 3:51You'll be the highest and the most supreme leader in the land.
- 3:55Father and Lord, wherever you are, that's where we want to be.
- 3:59God, we want to see you rightly. We want to see you high and lift
- 4:02it up. We want to see the sea of glass
- 4:05mingled with fire, with peals of Thunder rumblings.
- 4:08God, we want to see you, Lord, with the rainbow above your
- 4:12head, eyes like fire, hair like wool.
- 4:15Lord, we want to see your bronze feet.
- 4:18Father, we want to see you. God, the voice, we want to hear
- 4:21your voice of the many multitudes.
- 4:23Lord, come and annihilate all opposition with the two edged
- 4:27sword. God, as we open up your word
- 4:29today, open up our hearts today, hide it in our hearts.
- 4:32God, we do not want to sin against you for you are so holy,
- 4:39holy worthy Jesus Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Jewish king.
- 5:00We love you Jesus name I pray men.
- 5:10Well, let's start in verse one. And he heard the words of
- 5:15Laban's son saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our
- 5:19fathers, and of that which was our fathers has he gotten all
- 5:23his glory. So here we see that the sons are
- 5:27operating in envy. We see that they are looking at
- 5:31what Jacob has, and they're thinking to themselves, Oh my
- 5:35goodness, this all came from Laban our father.
- 5:38And now look how rich Jacob is because of our Father.
- 5:42And they're going and they're spreading all kinds of lies
- 5:44because nothing has been done here in this agreement that was
- 5:50out of the way. This was all agreed upon.
- 5:53This was all set. It was above board.
- 5:56And Jacob had done nothing wrong.
- 5:59He had only relied upon God and he operated in the spirit of
- 6:03faith and God had rewarded him. And now you can see what happens
- 6:07in the natural is whenever God is rewarding you, don't be
- 6:11surprised if in the natural people are naysaying you and
- 6:15breaking you down and taking you before task and taking you to
- 6:19court, trying to get something out of you.
- 6:22And this is no different, friends.
- 6:24You see that a lot of times whenever the resources of the
- 6:28unrighteous are spin upon the righteous, it causes such a
- 6:32discourse of disunity. And it's all incredibly
- 6:39underneath the way that God operates.
- 6:44The world will never understand it, friends, and we don't expect
- 6:49for them to. We just operate in faith.
- 6:51And we say yes and Amen to the God who can open doors that no
- 6:55man can close. We say yes and Amen to the God
- 6:58that can close doors that no man can open.
- 7:02And that is the reality of the God that we serve.
- 7:05Verse 2. And Jacob beheld the countenance
- 7:09of Laban, and behold, it was not toward him as before.
- 7:12So his countenance had changed. His demeanor had changed towards
- 7:17Jacob. He noticed it because the sons
- 7:20of Laban were stirring the pot. They were trying to get their
- 7:23dad to have some kind of ill will and discord and disunity
- 7:28towards Jacob, who had done nothing wrong.
- 7:31He'd only relied on God, and God rewarded his faith.
- 7:34Verse 3 And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return to your land of
- 7:39your father's and to your kindred, and I will be with you.
- 7:42Period. End of story.
- 7:44He says it, we believe it, and that settles it.
- 7:47He says, I'm going to be with you.
- 7:49Go back to the promised land, go back to Canaan, go back to where
- 7:53Abraham was called to, go back to where Isaac is, And Jacob
- 7:59sent and called Rachel, Leah to the field unto his flock.
- 8:03So he says, come out here, I want to talk to you in private.
- 8:075 And he said to them, I see your father's countenance, that
- 8:11it is not toward me as before, but the God of my father has
- 8:15been with me. So he's saying, the God of my
- 8:17father, notice how this is not his God yet.
- 8:20He has not developed a personal relationship with God through
- 8:24his Son Jesus Christ yet. What he's doing is he still
- 8:28lying on the God of Isaac. He's not become personal yet. 7
- 8:35And your father has deceived me and changed my way just 10
- 8:39times, but God suffered him not to hurt me.
- 8:41So God's hand was upon Jacob where Laban's hands were tide,
- 8:47and he could not do anything apart from what God had allowed
- 8:50him to. And you see that God was the one
- 8:53who put Jacob in the midst of this master deceiver, this
- 8:58master deception of Laban in the land where he's giving him Leah
- 9:03and he's giving him the seven more years of work.
- 9:08And then here you can see it's been 20 years of working for
- 9:12this man. And you can see how God used it
- 9:15the entire time, Aiden. If he the said thus the speckled
- 9:21shall be your wages, and then all the cattle bore speckled.
- 9:25And if he said thus the ring straight shall be your hire,
- 9:28then bore all the cattle rings straight.
- 9:31So you see that God is with him and gave him all the animals.
- 9:36He was able to actually rearrange the natural order of
- 9:41how things are done and miraculously increase Jacob. 9
- 9:47Thus, God has taken away the cattle of your Father and given
- 9:50them to me. So it's no wonder that Laban
- 9:53sons are so incredibly envious is because God had so increased
- 9:59Jacob that he left Laban with very little.
- 10:03And it came to pass at the time that the cattle can see that I
- 10:07lifted up my eyes and I saw in a dream and behold, the Rams which
- 10:11leapt upon the cattle were ring straight, speckled and grizzled.
- 10:1511 And the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, Jacob.
- 10:20And I said, here am I. That is our proper response when
- 10:23God shows himself to us, when he said, when he calls your name,
- 10:28you just speak up and say, here I am, Lord, send me. 12 And he
- 10:32said, lift up your eyes and see all the Rams which leap upon the
- 10:37cattle or ring strength speckled and grizzled.
- 10:40For I have seen all that Laban does unto you.
- 10:43So he's telling him that how he got in this very prosperous way
- 10:50was because in a dream God had revealed to him what to do, and
- 10:56he saw it was because of the oppression of Laban, and that
- 11:01Laban had changed his wages and was dealing with him in a way
- 11:05that was not becoming of a father-in-law and a son-in-law.
- 11:1213 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar, and
- 11:17where you vowed A vow to me. Now arise and get out from this
- 11:22land, and return unto the land of your kindred.
- 11:26So he's calling him back, and he's saying, return back to your
- 11:28first love. Do you remember whenever I
- 11:31showed you the ladder, which is Jesus Christ?
- 11:34Do you remember that I'm the same God now as I was back then?
- 11:40Return back to your first love and that's what He tells you to
- 11:43do. Remember the time when God was
- 11:45the closest to you and go back to that place and do the things
- 11:50that you did then. And God doesn't forget anything
- 11:53and He will reward all of your obedience.
- 11:57Friends 14 Rachel and Leah answered and said, Is there yet
- 12:01any portion or inheritance for us in our Father's house?
- 12:05No, there is not, because you are now attached to the God of
- 12:10of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the idols of Laban are nothing,
- 12:14and they're pulverized into dust. 15 Are we not counted of
- 12:19him strangers? For He has sold us and has quite
- 12:22devoured also our money. Look at where their hearts and
- 12:25their minds are at. They're not yet fully sanctified
- 12:32as they ought to be. And aren't you thankful for
- 12:35God's long-suffering with us 16 for all the riches which God has
- 12:41taken from our Father that is ours and our children's?
- 12:44Now then, whatsoever God has said unto you, do so.
- 12:48They are agreeable, perhaps for the very first time in this
- 12:51entire estranged, rearranged marriage.
- 12:58They are finally. Leah and Rachel are finally of
- 13:00the same accord. 17 Then Jacob rose up, set his sons and his
- 13:06wives upon camels. So you know that he was wealthy,
- 13:09because he had enough camels to put his entire family upon. 18
- 13:13And he carried away all his cattle and all his goods, which
- 13:16he had got in the cattle of his getting, which he had got in
- 13:20Padamaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of
- 13:24Canaan. 19 And Laban went to shear his sheep, and Rachel had
- 13:28stolen the images that were her father's, so she stole his
- 13:33idols. These little statues that cannot
- 13:36see and cannot hear, they are false lowercase G gods.
- 13:40They mean nothing. And it's what we set our hearts
- 13:43upon, friends. That is what provokes God to
- 13:47jealousy. 20 And Jacob stole away unaware to Laban the
- 13:54Syrian, and that he told him not that he fled.
- 13:58So he did not tell Laban that he was leaving with his family. 21
- 14:02And he fled with all that he had, and he rose up, and he
- 14:05passed over the river and set his face toward Mount Gilead. 22
- 14:11And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
- 14:1523 And he took his brothers with them and pursued after him seven
- 14:19days journey, and they overtook him in the mount to Gilead.
- 14:24So he rested neither day nor night.
- 14:26They took off full speed ahead to catch up with Jacob.
- 14:31Let's see what is going to happen. 24 And God came to Laban
- 14:35the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed
- 14:39that you do not speak to Jacob, either good or bad.
- 14:44So you can see that God is protecting Jacob and he's
- 14:47actually giving him dreams and visions and visitations.
- 14:52And the man in white is revealing himself to this
- 14:55Syrian. And it's no different today,
- 14:57friends. God can break into these Pagan
- 15:00places and rescue people and set them free, friends.
- 15:04And that is what he is still doing today.
- 15:07He's in the business friends of speaking to those that belong to
- 15:11him, even if they are in a an oppressive regime that tries to
- 15:17push out the gospel of Jesus Christ and makes the Bible
- 15:21illegal. You cannot contain the love of
- 15:24God. He will break in anywhere that
- 15:26he desires and that is what he has done here with the Syrian
- 15:30Laban. And he's saying to him, do not
- 15:33say or do anything good or bad. You just need to remain neutral.
- 15:4025 And Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent
- 15:44in the mountain. Laban with his brothers pitched
- 15:46in the mount of Gilead. 26 And Laban said to Jacob, What have
- 15:50you done that you have stolen away unaware to me, and carried
- 15:55away my daughters as captives, taken with the sword?
- 15:58He's saying. You're acting like you've
- 16:00kidnapped them. What is this?
- 16:03This is not how things are done. Let's see what Jacob has to say.
- 16:1027 Why did you flee away secretly and steal away from me
- 16:14and did not tell me that I might have sent you away with mirth
- 16:18and songs with Tabrett and with heart.
- 16:21So he's trying to cover up the fact that he is very wroth with
- 16:25Jacob. He's saying if you would have
- 16:27stayed and told me what you were up to, then I would have sent
- 16:31you away with some kind of big party.
- 16:34But Jacob knows better, God knows better.
- 16:36Laban is not that kind. Laban would have manipulated him
- 16:40into staying and he would have not let him go.
- 16:43And this was the only way. And so therefore, we're going to
- 16:48see what Jacob has to say. 28 and have and has not suffered me
- 16:53to kiss my sons, my daughters, now that you have done foolishly
- 16:57and so doing. 29 it is in the power of my hand to do you hurt.
- 17:03But the God of your father spoke to me yesterday night, saying,
- 17:08take you heed that you speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
- 17:13Thank God for God's protection. Thank Him friends for all the
- 17:19times that he showed up. We weren't even unaware of it.
- 17:22We were not aware of the fact that God had broke in and caused
- 17:27fear in our oppressors minds. Friends, that's the way that God
- 17:32works. There are many times that He's
- 17:34kept you from harm that you were not even aware of.
- 17:38St. And you can see here that Laban
- 17:41knows that his hands are tied. He says this within my power to
- 17:45do you harm, but I cannot because God has told me not to.
- 17:5430 And now though you would needs be gone because you sore
- 17:58longed after a father's house, yet why have you stolen my God's
- 18:03lowercase? G So he's saying, and you even
- 18:07took my idols from me as you were leaving, not only did you
- 18:11steal away, not only did you just try to disappear and tell
- 18:16me not that you were going, but you actually took my idols from
- 18:22me. 31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, because I was
- 18:25afraid for I said per adventure that you would take by force
- 18:32your daughters from me. So he's saying, I know if I
- 18:35would have told you that I was leaving, you would have taken
- 18:38your daughters away from me. 32 With whomsoever you find your
- 18:44gods, let him not live before our brothers discern you what is
- 18:49yours with me, and take it to you.
- 18:52For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
- 18:55So he pronounced a curse upon his own bride that he loves,
- 19:01that he actually has affection for, and he did it unaware.
- 19:05He did not realize that she had taken her father's idols. 33 And
- 19:11Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into
- 19:14the two maidservants tents, but he did not find them.
- 19:17Then he went in out of Leah's tent and entered into Rachel's
- 19:20tent. 34 Now Rachel had taken the images and put them in the
- 19:25camel's furniture and sat upon them.
- 19:32And Laban searched all the tent, but he found them not. 35 And
- 19:38she said to her father, Let it not displease my Lord, that I
- 19:43cannot rise up before you, for the custom of women is upon me.
- 19:47And he searched, and he did not find the images.
- 19:50She was sitting on them and he sit and she said that she was
- 19:55experiencing her monthly cycle here which is why she could not
- 20:01get up from the camel which was a lie. 36 And Jacob was wroth
- 20:10and chode with Laban, and Jacob answered and said to Laban.
- 20:17What is my trespass? What is my sin that you have so
- 20:23hotly pursued after me? Why have you searched all my
- 20:30stuff? What have you found of all your
- 20:34household stuff? Said it before here, my brothers
- 20:39and my brothers. And that you may judge between
- 20:42us both. He's saying you found nothing.
- 20:44You have nothing on me. 3820 years I have been with you, your
- 20:52ewes, your goats, they have cast their when they have not cast
- 20:56their young and the Rams of your flock.
- 20:59I have not eaten. He's saying.
- 21:01I have done you no wrong. I have had integrity.
- 21:04I have actually have done things that were above what was
- 21:09required of me. 39 That which was torn of beast.
- 21:14I did not bring it to you. I bore the loss of it.
- 21:18My hand did not require it, whether stolen by day or stolen
- 21:22by night. So there was a custom that if a
- 21:26wolfer, if a ravenous animal went after them, if you could
- 21:30stop him from eating the entire carcass or dragging it away,
- 21:33then you could bring the carcass to the owner and you would be
- 21:37relieved of responsibility. But he did not even enact that.
- 21:41If something happened to an animal, he replaced it out of
- 21:44his own flock. He did not even try to go and
- 21:48have drama. 40 Thus I was in the day that drought consumed me,
- 21:55and then the frost by night and my sleep departed from my eyes,
- 21:59he said. I spent sleepless nights looking
- 22:02after your animals, 41 thus I have been 20 years in your
- 22:08house. I served you 14 years for your
- 22:11two daughters, six years for the cattle and you have changed my
- 22:15wages 10 times. You can see that Laban was a man
- 22:21who was not practice integrity. He would change things mid
- 22:26course and it was as if he was acting in a way that was
- 22:30duplicious and he was acting in a way where he could not be
- 22:34trusted. And it was not missed upon Jacob
- 22:3842 except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear
- 22:43of Isaac had been with me. Surely you had sent me away
- 22:47empty. God has seen my affliction in
- 22:50the labor of my hands, and he rebuked you last night.
- 22:55So notice here that he does not call God his God.
- 22:58He calls him the God of Abraham, his grandfather and the fear of
- 23:02Isaac. God is not yet personal unto
- 23:07him. He is still using God for the
- 23:11manipulation of getting things. But God is long-suffering and
- 23:15he's He's the same way with you and he's the same way with me.
- 23:19And he puts up with all of our childish immaturity in the
- 23:23beginning. But by and by, as time goes on,
- 23:26the fear of the Lord falls upon us, and we cover our mouth and
- 23:30say, I've said too much. 43 And Laban answered and said unto
- 23:39Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children
- 23:42are my children. These cattle are my cattle, and
- 23:46all that you see is mine. What can I do this day unto
- 23:50these my daughters, or unto the children which they have borne?
- 23:55So Laban is saying You have nothing in your possession that
- 23:59was not once mine. And he is yet to figure out that
- 24:06God is not with him, but he is with Jacob.
- 24:11And this is one of the hardest lessons that humanity has to
- 24:14learn. And unless you attach yourself
- 24:17to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, unless you come in
- 24:21through the sun and have a personal relationship with the
- 24:26God of the universe through Jesus Christ, the Jewish king,
- 24:31then you will be left out in the cold. 44 Now therefore come you
- 24:39let us make a covenant, I and you let it be for a witness
- 24:44between me and you. So he's saying, We need some
- 24:47separation here, friend, you come on my side, it's not going
- 24:51to be good, and I will not come on your side, but you separate
- 24:55unto me, and we shall never see each other again. 45 And Jacob
- 25:01took a stone, and he set it up for a pillar. 46 And Jacob said
- 25:05unto his brothers, Gather stones.
- 25:07And they took stones, and they made a heap, and they did eat
- 25:10there upon the heat. 47 And Laban called it Jagar Sahuta,
- 25:15and Jacob called it Gali. 48 And Laban said, This heap is a
- 25:20witness between me and Jew. This day, therefore was the name
- 25:25of it called Galid. 49 and Misbah.
- 25:28For he said, the Lord watched between me and Jew when we are
- 25:32absent from one another. This is signifying that if one
- 25:37of them broke this covenant, God would see it, and he would enact
- 25:41the justice that was due. 50 And if you shall afflict my
- 25:46daughters, if you shall take otherwise beside my daughters,
- 25:50no man is with us. See, God is witness between me
- 25:54and you. He's saying, God is watching
- 25:56you. 51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, Behold this
- 26:01pillar which I have cast between me and you. 52 This heap be
- 26:06witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not
- 26:11Passover this heap to you, and that you shall not Passover this
- 26:14heap and this pillar to me for harm. 53 The God of Abraham, the
- 26:21God of Nahor, the God of their father, judged between US and
- 26:26Jacob, swore by the fear of his father Isaac.
- 26:30So we could see here that he still has not made this personal
- 26:35connection. He's still relying upon daddy's
- 26:38faith. He's still relying upon
- 26:41grandpa's faith. And a lot of us do the same
- 26:44thing. And we're not going to ride in
- 26:46on the coattails of Grandma's faith.
- 26:48It must become personal. And it's not about religion,
- 26:52friends. It's all about a relationship
- 26:55with the God of the universe through Jesus Christ, his only
- 27:00begotten. 54 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mountain,
- 27:06called his brothers to eat bread, and they did eat and
- 27:09tarried all night in the Mount. 55 will end here.
- 27:13The early in the morning Laban rose up and he kissed his sons,
- 27:17his daughters, He blessed them, and Laban departed and returned
- 27:21unto his place. What an amazing God that we
- 27:28serve. Look at how He can take all this
- 27:33mess. He's going to use it to begin a
- 27:39mighty nation that we're going to be reading about that is
- 27:42still in existence today. And His mighty hand is still
- 27:46upon those people, and they must come in the same way that you
- 27:51and I do. This is the God that we serve.
- 27:56Don't miss it. Get in the Word.
- 28:00Learn the Word. Own the Word.
- 28:02Meditate upon the Word. Live the Word.
- 28:08The Word became flesh. We devour it, we munch on it, we
- 28:14feast upon it. It is fresh, it is alive.
- 28:19It is active. It's reading you as you try to
- 28:24read it. Hope you've been blessed by it.
- 28:30I know I sure have. I love you.
- 28:35God loves you. Stay connected to the barn.
- 28:41He's so worthy. Worthy to be praised.
- 28:50Love you. We'll see you back here
- 28:51tomorrow. God bless you.
