• 0:17
SPEAKER_00: He always did what was right, so he is able to defend us before God the Father.
• 0:23
SPEAKER_00: Jesus is the way and our sins are taken away, and He is the way all people can have their sins taken away too.
• 0:33
SPEAKER_00: If we obey what God has told us to do, then we are sure that we know Him.
• 0:39
SPEAKER_00: If we say that we know God but do not obey His commands, we are lying.
• 0:47
SPEAKER_00: The truth is not in us.
• 0:50
SPEAKER_00: But when we obey God's teaching, His love is truly working in us.
• 0:56
SPEAKER_00: This is how we know that we are living in Him.
• 1:01
SPEAKER_00: If we say that we live in God, we must live the way Jesus lived.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_00: Jesus told us to love others.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_00: My dear friends, I am not writing a new command to you.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_00: It is the same command you have had since the beginning.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_00: This command is the teaching you have already heard, but what I write is also a new command.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_00: It is a true one.
• 1:31
SPEAKER_00: You can see its truth in Jesus and in yourselves.
• 1:36
SPEAKER_00: The darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_00: Someone might say I am in the light, but if they hate any of their brothers or sisters in God's family, they are still in the darkness.
• 1:55
SPEAKER_00: Those who love their brothers and sisters live in the light, and there is nothing in them that will make them do wrong.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_00: But whoever hates their brother or sister is in darkness.
• 2:08
  SPEAKER_00: They live in darkness.
• 2:10
SPEAKER_00: They don't know where they are going because darkness has made them blind.
• 2:15
SPEAKER_00: I write to you dear children because your sins are forgiven through Christ.
• 2:21
SPEAKER_00: I write to you fathers because you know the one who existed from the beginning.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_00: I write to you young people because you have defeated the evil one.
• 2:34
SPEAKER_00: I write to you children because you know the Father.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_00: I write to you fathers because you know the one who existed from the beginning.
• 2:44
SPEAKER_00: I write to you young people because you are strong.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_00: The word of God lives in you and you have defeated the evil one.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_00: Don't love this evil world or the things in it.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_00: If you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_00: This is all there is in the world, wanting to please our sinful selves, wanting the sinful things we see and being too proud of what we have.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_00: But none of these comes from the Father.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_00: They come from the world.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_00: The world is passing away and all the things that people want in the world are passing away.
• 3:32
SPEAKER_00: But whoever does what God wants will live forever.
• 3:37
SPEAKER_00: Don't follow the enemies of Christ.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_00: My dear children, the end is near.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_00: You have heard that the enemy of Christ is coming, and now many enemies of Christ are already here, so we know that the end is near.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_00: These enemies were in our group, but they left us.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_00: They did not really belong with us.
• 4:01
SPEAKER_00: If they were really part of our group, they would have stayed with us, but they left.
• 4:09
SPEAKER_00: This shows that none of them really belonged with us.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_00: You have the gift of the Holy One, and the Holy One gave that gift to you.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_00: So you all know the truth.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_00: Do you think I'm writing this letter because you don't know the truth?
• 4:27
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm writing to you because you know the truth, and you know that no lie comes from the truth.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_00: So who is a liar?
• 4:39
SPEAKER_00: Is it the one that says Jesus is not the Messiah?
• 4:44
SPEAKER_00: Whoever says that the enemy of Christ, the one who does not believe in the Father or in his Son.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_00: Whoever does not believe in the Son does not have the Father, but whoever accepts the Son has the Father too.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_00: Be sure that you continue to follow the teaching you heard from the beginning.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_00: If you do that, you will always be in the Son and the Father.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_00: And this is what the Son promised us eternal life.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_00: I am writing this letter about those who are trying to lead you into the wrong way.
• 5:29
SPEAKER_00: Christ gave you a special gift.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_00: You still have this gift in you, so you don't need anyone to teach you.
• 5:38
SPEAKER_00: The gift he gave you teaches you about everything.
• 5:43
SPEAKER_00: It is a true gift, not a false one, so continue to live in Christ as his gift taught you.
• 5:51
SPEAKER_00: Yes, my dear children, live in him.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_00: If we do this, we can be without fear on the day when Christ comes again.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_00: We will not need to hide and be ashamed when he comes.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_00: You know that Christ always did what was right, so you know that all those who do what is right are God's children.
