- 0:01In the synthesis of yoga. SRI, aurobindo provides, an
- 0:04overview of the psychological methods of yogic practice in the
- 0:08path of jnana, yoga, The Yoga of knowledge bhakti, yoga, The Yoga
- 0:14of love, and devotion and Karma Yoga, The Yoga of Works.
- 0:19He also provides extensive commentary to the teachings on
- 0:23these methods as expounded in the bhagavad-gita, in his essays
- 0:27on the Gita. Each of these paths seizes on a
- 0:31mainspring of human activity, whether it is the mind, the
- 0:36heart, where the life force and directs, and guides the Seeker
- 0:40toward the realization based on his own natural predilections,
- 0:45and situation. There instances of course, where
- 0:49the ego personality becomes arrogant and the advantage of
- 0:53his own particular path, or method, and looks down upon
- 0:57those who follow other. Our paths.
- 1:00However this arrogance is a deformation caused.
- 1:04By the ego. Realization can come through any
- 1:08of these methods if followed with sincerity and constancy.
- 1:13It must also be noted that each individual may find benefit from
- 1:18any one of the paths at various times in his life, as he
- 1:23addresses, the difficulties posed by his nature.
- 1:26Each path has not only its advantages, but its own
- 1:31limitations or weaknesses when mixed with the All Too Human
- 1:34ego. The Path of Knowledge can lead
- 1:38to a brittle and narrow form of understanding and limits on the
- 1:43ability to To actually take on the challenges of life and the
- 1:47need to change human nature. The path of devotion can detour
- 1:52into religiosity or frivolity. The path of Works can place
- 1:58outer accomplishment ahead of inner development in their
- 2:02truest forms. However they each lead to the
- 2:05desired goal and one can find at the end and integration that
- 2:10incorporates the fruits of each path within the results of the
- 2:14chosen method. SRI aurobindo right, quote, the
- 2:20growth out of the ordinary mind into the spiritual,
- 2:23consciousness can be affected either by meditation, dedicated
- 2:29work or buck tea for the divine. The object of the sadhna is
- 2:35opening of the Consciousness to the Divine and the change of the
- 2:39nature meditation or contemplation is one means to
- 2:43this, but only one means. But T is another work is another
- 2:50work octi and meditation are the three supports of yoga.
- 2:55One can do with all three or two or one.
- 2:59There are people who can't meditate in the set way.
- 3:03That one calls meditation. But they progress through work
- 3:07or through bhakti or through the two together by work and bhakti.
- 3:13One can develop a Consciousness in which eventually a natural
- 3:17meditation and realization becomes possible and quote
- 3:23reference SRI aurobindo and the mother growing within the
- 3:28psychology of inner development. Chapter 5 growth of
- 3:32Consciousness means and methods ages. 84 285.
