- 0:02Carmen Lezeth: How are you?
- 0:03Carmen Lezeth: Hey, everyone, welcome to All About the Joy.
- 0:05Carmen Lezeth: We hope Cynthia is going to be able to make it.
- 0:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so I'm not going to say what's going on with Cynthia, but I really want her to come on and tell us, because then I'll feel better.
- 0:15Carmen Lezeth: She's fine, she's absolutely fine, but she's just racing home to see if she can get online quickly.
- 0:21Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, how was your week?
- 0:24Rick Costa: It was pretty good.
- 0:25Rick Costa: Work wasn't too bad, so that's good.
- 0:28Rick Costa: One order I was stressing about, an expensive one, finally came through and everything worked out.
- 0:33Carmen Lezeth: No, wait what I missed something, because I was not.
- 0:35Carmen Lezeth: I don't multitask and I was trying to put your volume up.
- 0:38Carmen Lezeth: Say that again.
- 0:39Rick Costa: Oh, something at work.
- 0:40Rick Costa: It was a big, a big ticket item stuff.
- 0:44Rick Costa: I guess that was ordered and it was stressing me out because they were like we need it by the end of the month or we're not going to want it.
- 0:48Rick Costa: So I literally got there on the last day of the month, on Monday.
- 0:52Carmen Lezeth: I was like wow, oh, so it got there.
- 0:54Carmen Lezeth: Hey, melanie Cynthia's on right now.
- 0:58Carmen Lezeth: I'm just letting her get her camera fixed so that she looks beautiful and everything.
- 1:02Carmen Lezeth: But I see her fix so that she looks beautiful and everything.
- 1:10Carmen Lezeth: But I see her.
- 1:10Carmen Lezeth: I see her in the green room.
- 1:11Carmen Lezeth: Give me a thing like this when you're ready to come on cynthia.
- 1:13Carmen Lezeth: Okay, she's ready.
- 1:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to do you wrong like that.
- 1:18Carmen Lezeth: How you doing, cynthia?
- 1:19Carmen Lezeth: Oh we're good, hey look.
- 1:22Carmen Lezeth: I want to call you because Melanie can't hear you, so I guess it is also up there.
- 1:28Carmen Lezeth: You're going to have to tell everyone what's going on, because I just made it all dramatic after saying but she's fine, hold on.
- 1:36Cynthia Ruiz: Let me show you real quick.
- 1:38Rick Costa: Love me.
- 1:40Carmen Lezeth: Oh, xavier, the song.
- 1:43Carmen Lezeth: Xavier broke his leg.
- 1:46Carmen Lezeth: Oh, xavier, my house Xavier broke his leg, oh my God.
- 1:48Cynthia Ruiz: He broke his ankle.
- 1:49Cynthia Ruiz: It has rods in it right now In it In his legs.
- 1:53Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, so there's rods sticking out.
- 1:56Carmen Lezeth: And he's having major surgery.
- 1:57Carmen Lezeth: Why are the rods sticking out?
- 1:58Carmen Lezeth: Why are the rods sticking?
- 2:00Cynthia Ruiz: out.
- 2:00Cynthia Ruiz: It's pre-surgery because he had so much swelling.
- 2:04Cynthia Ruiz: So they're going gonna do the surgery on monday and the rods are there to support everything and align his ankle and everything but he still looks so cute.
- 2:13Carmen Lezeth: And the pictures in the back seat.
- 2:15Carmen Lezeth: You know, I love me my xavier.
- 2:17Carmen Lezeth: He's so cute, but he how did we break our leg?
- 2:20Carmen Lezeth: What happened?
- 2:21Cynthia Ruiz: we fell down the stairs.
- 2:22Cynthia Ruiz: Okay, yeah, sorry, I'm just letting my charger here Are you feeling comfortable right now.
- 2:31Carmen Lezeth: I told you you don't have to come on.
- 2:32Carmen Lezeth: I was like I'll walk in with Rick, you know, even though I don't want to do this with Rick by myself.
- 2:38Rick Costa: Fun fact, I have metal rods in my back too.
- 2:42Carmen Lezeth: In your back.
- 2:43Carmen Lezeth: Is it all about you?
- 2:43Carmen Lezeth: I have a rod in my hip.
- 2:47Rick Costa: Okay, cynthia, you have any rods?
- 2:49Cynthia Ruiz: No rods.
- 2:51Carmen Lezeth: Why is it all about you?
- 2:53Carmen Lezeth: I just had to do that to you.
- 2:57Rick Costa: I just wanted to feel a part.
- 2:59Carmen Lezeth: A part of having an injury.
- 3:01Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you're so crazy.
- 3:02Carmen Lezeth: I was telling Rick earlier that I was hoping that you would come on quicker, right, because that's why I text you yeah, because I was like we'll go on early so we could do a little recap of 9-1-1, and I wanted to give you some insight as to what happened.
- 3:19Carmen Lezeth: I know rick has not watched the show, even though we've tried to implore him to do it.
- 3:25Cynthia Ruiz: I only watched the first episode.
- 3:27Cynthia Ruiz: I haven't watched today's episode Because it's coming on.
- 3:30Carmen Lezeth: Oh, yours already aired, mine hasn't aired yet.
- 3:32Carmen Lezeth: It comes on at nine o'clock, so it's on right now.
- 3:34Carmen Lezeth: Oh For you.
- 3:35Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:37Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I haven't watched the second episode either, but let me just say this I'm totally like not loving the bees, but yeah right, it was kind of campy, weird, okay.
- 3:49Carmen Lezeth: So we'll wait to see the second episode.
- 3:50Carmen Lezeth: But the reason why I wanted to bring this up is I reached out to the los angeles fire department.
- 3:56Carmen Lezeth: Okay, for those of you who don't know, the show 9-1-1 actually is about.
- 4:05Cynthia Ruiz: Fire.
- 4:06Carmen Lezeth: Station 118 here in Los Angeles.
- 4:09Carmen Lezeth: It's not about them exactly, but it is actually a fire station here in Los Angeles.
- 4:13Carmen Lezeth: So I had bought myself a t-shirt from the LAFD and I bought one for Cynthia, one for Wong and I sent some as a gift or whatever Because I wanted to support the Los Angeles Fire Department and I sent some as a gift or whatever because I wanted to support the Los Angeles Fire Department.
- 4:24Carmen Lezeth: But here's the thing they have unisex size, which I can't stand because it's really men's.
- 4:30Carmen Lezeth: That's what it's men's.
- 4:32Carmen Lezeth: And then we just have to fit into it and it just anyways.
- 4:35Carmen Lezeth: I cut up my shirt, my t-shirt, and it's now ruined completely because it does not.
- 4:40Carmen Lezeth: I have a body people, okay.
- 4:48Carmen Lezeth: I got boobs and a waist and I like my shit to work, okay.
- 4:52Carmen Lezeth: So I emailed the lafd.
- 4:53Carmen Lezeth: I was like hi, my name is carmen.
- 4:55Carmen Lezeth: They responded in their next meeting they're going to talk about having women's sizes on their website.
- 5:02Carmen Lezeth: And and I said to them how do you not know that this show has been on since 2018?
- 5:08Carmen Lezeth: They had no idea what.
- 5:10Carmen Lezeth: Somebody must know.
- 5:12Carmen Lezeth: But the people who handle the nonprofit that handles all their clothing.
- 5:16Carmen Lezeth: I'm like you guys could have been making so much money.
- 5:18Carmen Lezeth: I was on Reddit and Reddit doesn't know where to get clothing from the show what I'm like.
- 5:25Carmen Lezeth: Are you people crazy?
- 5:27Cynthia Ruiz: Because I would have definitely missed an opportunity there.
- 5:30Carmen Lezeth: That's what I mean I needed to.
- 5:32Carmen Lezeth: You know, I needed to fit all the parts correctly, okay, Women have curves, okay, hello.
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: No, I don't.
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: Women's fits differently than men's, wouldn't you agree, cynthia?
- 5:43Carmen Lezeth: Like men's is a boxy shirt and it just and there are women firefighters.
- 5:49Carmen Lezeth: It's just also lazy.
- 5:51Carmen Lezeth: It's just.
- 5:52Carmen Lezeth: Don't call it unisex.
- 5:54Carmen Lezeth: Just say we only have men's sizes, because unisex is just men's sizes, that's all it is.
- 5:59Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's very true.
- 6:00Carmen Lezeth: I have never bought a unisex shirt that fit me well, never, not once.
- 6:05Carmen Lezeth: But anyway, I thought that was funny and they went back and forth with me.
- 6:09Carmen Lezeth: Whoever it was, I forget what her name was.
- 6:11Carmen Lezeth: I want to say Kathy, she was on her iPhone and I said I'm so sorry to bother you on a Saturday morning and she's like no, this is good, we have our meetings on Monday and I was like, if you could let them know, it's so good, I'll send you all the emails because it was hilarious, oh my god.
- 6:30Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, I just wanted to mention that.
- 6:33Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, okay, whatever, okay.
- 6:36Carmen Lezeth: So I sent you guys some information of what I wanted to talk about.
- 6:42Carmen Lezeth: Let me just throw on the you know what.
- 6:44Carmen Lezeth: First, let's talk about last week's show, which, by the way, highest rated show ever.
- 6:50Carmen Lezeth: Let's go like a day later.
- 6:53Carmen Lezeth: The numbers were I think it was his people, but I don't care.
- 6:57Carmen Lezeth: Shout out to our people too.
- 6:59Carmen Lezeth: We love you, and LinkedIn is off the hook.
- 7:01Carmen Lezeth: I just love you people.
- 7:03Cynthia Ruiz: It's so cool that was a really good show.
- 7:06Cynthia Ruiz: I wasn't on it, but I watched it and I was so interested I was invested.
- 7:12Cynthia Ruiz: Like you saw, I was commenting on everything I was in there.
- 7:17Rick Costa: You were Netflix before Netflix was.
- 7:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that was a good clip.
- 7:20Carmen Lezeth: I put that clip up or whatever.
- 7:22Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so he was a cool guy.
- 7:24Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, he was a cool guy.
- 7:25Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, he was very easy to talk to, easy to understand all the technology and everything that he was saying, like it was awesome.
- 7:32Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, we'll have him back on the show.
- 7:34Carmen Lezeth: He's doing the rounds.
- 7:35Carmen Lezeth: They're really excited.
- 7:36Carmen Lezeth: I emailed them and everything and we'll put up more of their clips of their show and try to help promote them.
- 7:41Carmen Lezeth: I thought it was a really easy interview, but it was also fun and connected to us in a way.
- 7:47Carmen Lezeth: Do you know what I mean?
- 7:47Carmen Lezeth: I want more people to be part of the show that are connected to us in one way, shape or form.
- 7:52Carmen Lezeth: It doesn't have to be about movies and Hollywood.
- 7:54Carmen Lezeth: But what is all that noise?
- 7:56Carmen Lezeth: Is that feedback on my end?
- 7:58Cynthia Ruiz: No it's feedback on my end.
- 8:00Cynthia Ruiz: Oh, the way she just looked at Xavier.
- 8:04Cynthia Ruiz: It my end.
- 8:10Cynthia Ruiz: Oh, all right.
- 8:11Cynthia Ruiz: Oh the way she just looked at him.
- 8:12Carmen Lezeth: Oh, it's wine okay, anyways, it's all good.
- 8:13Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, I just wanted to talk about that and, rick, thank you for being on that show and said you think we're supporting everybody else who chimed in and also liked everything that we did.
- 8:24Carmen Lezeth: It was just just really fun, and I want to do more interviews, but it does take a lot of work, as Rick knows.
- 8:29Carmen Lezeth: We had to do a lot of research and we have to, you know, and have all the right questions and whatever.
- 8:34Carmen Lezeth: And also, I didn't even prep him, so he was an anomaly, because usually you want to meet people before you put them on the show.
- 8:41Carmen Lezeth: But he was fantastic.
- 8:42Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, maybe that's a trick.
- 8:44Carmen Lezeth: You don't want, no, no, no, because it'll work against us next time.
- 8:47Carmen Lezeth: It'll be so good.
- 8:48Carmen Lezeth: We don't want to show us something, but he was great.
- 8:51Carmen Lezeth: So, okay, great.
- 8:53Carmen Lezeth: Let me just say I do have one.
- 8:57Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I have one news item to let everyone know about.
- 9:00Carmen Lezeth: I don't know how many of you do shorts, rick, I think you do shorts on YouTube, right, you post up.
- 9:11Carmen Lezeth: Starting October 15th, shorts will now be up to three minutes, which is great, because all my shorts are over a minute, so they're never viewed by anybody because YouTube does not push them out if they're over a minute, so they can only be under a minute, but as of October 15th, you can go up to three minutes and they'll push your videos out.
- 9:26Carmen Lezeth: It does not include all the past YouTube shorts you've done, so all of those that I've put up are never going to get, but, anyways, just wanted to let everyone know about that for those of you who are using shorts Cynthia, you don't do shorts, right, it's TikTok, but YouTube, no, yeah, okay, cool, all right.
- 9:45Carmen Lezeth: Don't do shorts, right, it's tiktok, but youtube, no, yeah, okay, cool, all right.
- 9:47Carmen Lezeth: So I'm going to, I'm going to show this tiktoker whose name is brit ashley, I think.
- 9:53Carmen Lezeth: Wait, let me just see.
- 9:54Rick Costa: I think I'm messing up his name already I'm gonna hear a funny story really quick for you no, because it's never a funny.
- 10:01Carmen Lezeth: See.
- 10:01Carmen Lezeth: The thing is, where's the trick?
- 10:02Carmen Lezeth: Never a funny story.
- 10:02Carmen Lezeth: Am I lying?
- 10:03Carmen Lezeth: Never a funny See, where's the trick?
- 10:05Carmen Lezeth: Never a funny story, am I lying?
- 10:06Carmen Lezeth: Never a funny story when Rick says that, okay, wait, I'm going to do this quick, you're going to be so impressed.
- 10:12Carmen Lezeth: Okay, rick is like what a bitch, although he would never.
- 10:16Carmen Lezeth: I know, baby, I know you would never.
- 10:18Carmen Lezeth: Ever, let me see.
- 10:19@britishashley: What are some of the common misconceptions?
- 10:21@britishashley: Okay, wait.
- 10:21@britishashley: What are some of the common misconceptions.
- 10:22Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, here we go.
- 10:24Carmen Lezeth: Can you guys see it.
- 10:26@britishashley: Yeah, all right.
- 10:26@britishashley: What are some of the common misconceptions that British people have about Americans and just America as a whole?
- 10:33@britishashley: The first one is we think that all Americans live in massive houses.
- 10:38@britishashley: And you know what, when I think about why do we think this and why did I think this until I came here, I would say the movies are the reason for that.
- 10:46@britishashley: We watch things like I don't know, home Alone American Pie Planes, trains and Automobiles any you name it, any of them and they always have big houses all the time.
- 10:56@britishashley: You can't blame us for thinking so.
- 10:58@britishashley: And as well, because America's so big, especially compared to the UK, you've got much more land to to work with.
- 11:06@britishashley: So we just I don't know we would.
- 11:07@britishashley: It seems logical when we see it in the movies that we think, yeah, that's probably the way it is, but it isn't.
- 11:12@britishashley: We think americans are rich because you all live in massive houses.
- 11:16@britishashley: As far as we're concerned, again I think the movies are guilty of making us think this way because, again, if all we know is what we see on tv and in the movies, and it is just the big houses all the time, like mansion style houses, almost are you froze what it froze.
- 11:34Carmen Lezeth: No, you, but you're screaming.
- 11:36Carmen Lezeth: And it's so funny because now in the whole podcast I'm just going to be this.
- 11:41Carmen Lezeth: Can you not see it?
- 11:44Cynthia Ruiz: It froze on my end.
- 11:46Rick Costa: Are you using your?
- 11:47Carmen Lezeth: 1987 phone.
- 11:49Cynthia Ruiz: Okay.
- 11:51Carmen Lezeth: You're going to have to just listen, but can you hear him?
- 11:55Rick Costa: Oh, no Are you serious.
- 11:56Rick Costa: And look how Cynthia's screen is like this instead of like this now, because she has a phone from 1924.
- 12:03Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what to say, Okay, I'm just going to play the rest of it because oh, but Cynthia, how are you going to engage?
- 12:10Rick Costa: in the conversation.
- 12:11Carmen Lezeth: Somebody needs a new phone.
- 12:12Carmen Lezeth: I told you I would buy it for you.
- 12:15Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God.
- 12:16Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, that was such a good video.
- 12:19Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what happened.
- 12:21Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, it's your phone.
- 12:23Rick Costa: You didn't see or hear none of it.
- 12:24Cynthia Ruiz: You didn't hear, not one word of it.
- 12:30Carmen Lezeth: I heard, like the first little bit and then it just stopped.
- 12:31Carmen Lezeth: No, it was fine.
- 12:32Carmen Lezeth: I stopped it because you kept talking and I was like, okay, that's all right.
- 12:35Carmen Lezeth: Why?
- 12:37Rick Costa: Because for her it froze.
- 12:38Rick Costa: So she's like did it for you.
- 12:39Rick Costa: She's like fine.
- 12:46Carmen Lezeth: I'm like it's going to be, it doesn't matter now, okay, wait, I don't know what to do now, because you're not going to be able to be part of the conversation.
- 12:51Carmen Lezeth: Do you want to try it again?
- 12:52Carmen Lezeth: That's okay, the way you said it.
- 12:54Carmen Lezeth: Did you not try to use the new laptop I sent you?
- 13:00Cynthia Ruiz: I didn't try the, I didn't try the camera.
- 13:02Cynthia Ruiz: Oh my God, I sent you a laptop and you didn't try the camera.
- 13:05Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, I sent you a laptop and you didn't even try it.
- 13:09Carmen Lezeth: No, I haven't tried the camera yet.
- 13:13Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I don't know how the camera's going to work, but it'd probably work better than your 1942 cell phone.
- 13:19Carmen Lezeth: Notice how the year changes every time.
- 13:22Rick Costa: But she's freezing a lot too, so it could be her internet.
- 13:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, she's freezing a lot too.
- 13:26Carmen Lezeth: It's her phone.
- 13:27Carmen Lezeth: I am 100% sure that it is her phone.
- 13:31Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, okay, so I'm not going to play the whole thing, because now I'm going to have to.
- 13:36Carmen Lezeth: Anyway, he talks about, he's British and he's living in Arizona and his name is Ashley and he does all these great videos about what he loves or what is different or whatever about the United States, and it's this really cool video and he talks about.
- 13:52Carmen Lezeth: Like you know, europeans always think that Americans are not very well-traveled at all, and the fact is that in Europe, people don't understand how massive the United States is.
- 14:04Carmen Lezeth: So you can be in your state of California or Texas and you can drive six hours and still be in Texas or still be in California.
- 14:15Carmen Lezeth: Or you can drive three hours and go from one state to the other state and still be in the United States.
- 14:21Carmen Lezeth: But in Europe, if you travel from one place, you can go two hours and you'll be in France or you'll be in Germany.
- 14:28Carmen Lezeth: So it's much smaller.
- 14:30Carmen Lezeth: And so what he was saying is this thing he was saying these misconceptions that we have, or that they have about Americans, and all of his videos are about that.
- 14:40Carmen Lezeth: And it's really funny and it's really interesting because you start.
- 14:44Carmen Lezeth: Usually I hear negative things about people who basically hate us.
- 14:48Carmen Lezeth: Some of it is jealousy, some of it is fair.
- 14:51Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, because we think we're the best country in the world, and sorry to tell y'all we're not, but we're not.
- 14:56Carmen Lezeth: We're not the best country in the world, and sorry to tell y'all we're not, but we're not.
- 14:58Carmen Lezeth: We're not the best country in the world.
- 14:59Carmen Lezeth: Unless you've been to every other country in the world, you really can't make that statement.
- 15:03Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, because in a lot of ways we're lacking and this isn't about politics, this is just factual.
- 15:10Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, like in certain things, like in education and in health, in so many different ways, in happiness.
- 15:18Carmen Lezeth: There are all these different studies that are done.
- 15:22Carmen Lezeth: So I just think it's interesting to hear people from other countries talk about what they see as different as we.
- 15:29Carmen Lezeth: Being from the United States, I just thought it was an interesting thing, but it's not as much fun when I am saying it.
- 15:35Carmen Lezeth: That's why I was having a video on.
- 15:39Rick Costa: Yeah, for a lot of them they do.
- 15:40Rick Costa: I think we would be surprised how much american tv they watch and movies and everything like so much is from here.
- 15:47Rick Costa: As soon as he said big houses, I start thinking cosby show um fresh prince of belgium.
- 15:54Rick Costa: They think that's normal, no Right.
- 15:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, he said some other things too.
- 15:59Carmen Lezeth: I don't remember them all Because it's a four minute TikTok, but he does a lot of them.
- 16:06Carmen Lezeth: But he was also talking about how there's another video that he talks about different words that we use that he doesn't know, and that some of the words that we use mean very different things in other countries.
- 16:16Carmen Lezeth: So it's a fascinating, fascinating TikToker.
- 16:19Carmen Lezeth: I follow him.
- 16:20Carmen Lezeth: His name is British Ashley.
- 16:23Carmen Lezeth: I think he just changed his name to because somebody tried to copy his thing or whatever.
- 16:27Carmen Lezeth: So, anyways, cynthia, we're going to have to do something about your I'm not kidding though I do I need you.
- 16:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to.
- 16:33Carmen Lezeth: I'll buy you a new phone I don't even know how else to say that because I want you to be part of the show, but I can't.
- 16:39Carmen Lezeth: And I do think it's your phone.
- 16:42Carmen Lezeth: You have the weirdest issues.
- 16:44Carmen Lezeth: You're like I don't enjoy, I cannot see joy.
- 16:52Cynthia Ruiz: So can I just buy you a phone?
- 16:52Cynthia Ruiz: I don't want you to waste money, I'm not.
- 16:56Carmen Lezeth: But it's not a waste.
- 16:57Carmen Lezeth: It's not a waste.
- 16:57Carmen Lezeth: Because this is a waste, I have a whole thing to talk about.
- 17:02Rick Costa: Even Carmen Ajita.
- 17:04Carmen Lezeth: I know, and we cannot talk about it now because I didn't play it.
- 17:08Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 17:11Rick Costa: I remember I saw a video of a British guy and he goes I'm going to find the deepest South Southern accents I could find in America and play back the video in front of you guys and give you my reactions.
- 17:21Rick Costa: And he's just like what did he say?
- 17:24Rick Costa: I can't understand a word.
- 17:25Rick Costa: He said, it's so funny.
- 17:28Carmen Lezeth: There's another video of him and someone told him to try a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
- 17:33Carmen Lezeth: So he makes a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and he doesn't do it right, like he puts on the peanut butter like it's butter, like just a little, and then he puts all this jam on it and everyone knows.
- 17:48Carmen Lezeth: So he does like four videos trying to make a peanut butter and jelly and every time he eats them it's just the peanut butter and jelly.
- 17:55Carmen Lezeth: He's not impressed.
- 17:55Carmen Lezeth: Every time he eats them it's just a bit of jelly he's not impressed, but I think he's also good.
- 18:07Rick Costa: He gets sarcastic because one of the videos he puts like a glob of just a little bit of jelly.
- 18:11Rick Costa: The church fan is broken.
- 18:12Carmen Lezeth: The members will not be attending.
- 18:13Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny, it's great.
- 18:14Carmen Lezeth: Listen, I think it's good to start again.
- 18:17Carmen Lezeth: It's always all about the joy.
- 18:19Carmen Lezeth: I'm always looking for people who are uplifting and not putting down.
- 18:22Carmen Lezeth: I think some of the things I hate is when I see people from other countries putting down the United States.
- 18:27Carmen Lezeth: Right, it's so easy to do that, and I'm not saying that some of it isn't justified.
- 18:32Carmen Lezeth: But again, it's about all this hate.
- 18:34Carmen Lezeth: What do you want to do with all that energy?
- 18:36Carmen Lezeth: How does that change anything?
- 18:38Carmen Lezeth: So, cynthia, I'm not trying to embarrass you.
- 18:41Carmen Lezeth: I know you can afford your own phone, but I know you don't want to get a new phone because you don't want to deal with the newness of it.
- 18:47Carmen Lezeth: But can I just tell you from my heart I've told you this before, but now also for the show I think you should get a new phone.
- 18:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I know I do have to get a new one.
- 18:55Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I just think it's time and I think this is evident.
- 18:58Carmen Lezeth: So I'm just going to let me just throw all this away.
- 19:01Carmen Lezeth: You can still go over that.
- 19:03Carmen Lezeth: It's not like I have a video.
- 19:05Carmen Lezeth: I do want to talk about this.
- 19:07Carmen Lezeth: But, rick, tell us your funny story.
- 19:10Rick Costa: I was going to say first of all, if you're that attached to your phone, then just use a new one for the broadcast and stick with your old piece of crap.
- 19:17Rick Costa: I mean with your old phone, old phone.
- 19:23Carmen Lezeth: I tried to give her my old phone, which is basically a much newer phone, but she didn't want that.
- 19:26Carmen Lezeth: But I think now you're feeling the pain, you're feeling bad.
- 19:29Carmen Lezeth: Now I can tell, because she's doing this.
- 19:32Carmen Lezeth: She's like trying not to smile.
- 19:37Carmen Lezeth: She don't want to say yeah.
- 19:38Carmen Lezeth: She's like trying not to smile.
- 19:38Carmen Lezeth: She don't want to say yeah, she right, carmen, no one ever likes to say that it's so funny.
- 19:43Carmen Lezeth: Because I don't let them live it down.
- 19:45Carmen Lezeth: That's why, because I will hold on to it for emma.
- 19:47Carmen Lezeth: That's not true.
- 19:48Carmen Lezeth: Why are you doing that?
- 19:50Carmen Lezeth: It's not true.
- 19:51Carmen Lezeth: I'm just letting you know.
- 19:52Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm gonna switch to my plan b subject, because I did have a plan b.
- 19:56Carmen Lezeth: Just I wanted to talk about this.
- 19:57Carmen Lezeth: So I was reading on aarp, who is no longer going to be our sponsor.
- 20:02Carmen Lezeth: After I talk about this.
- 20:08Rick Costa: Oh, I saw an article pop up the other day.
- 20:09Rick Costa: I was like what?
- 20:11Carmen Lezeth: Oh, what was the article that popped up for you?
- 20:14Rick Costa: Senior citizen and masturbation.
- 20:16Rick Costa: No, I don't want to read about that.
- 20:18Rick Costa: Go away.
- 20:20Carmen Lezeth: Okay, let me tell you something.
- 20:21Carmen Lezeth: You can go on the website and pick what things you want to see.
- 20:24Rick Costa: There was a pop-up, I was like, no, we don't need to read about that Okay, but you can say you don't want to.
- 20:29Carmen Lezeth: Senior citizens have masturbation.
- 20:32Carmen Lezeth: Na na na, na, na, na na na na na na.
- 20:34Carmen Lezeth: Everyone has needs, rick.
- 20:38Carmen Lezeth: Just because you're old doesn't mean you ain't got them.
- 20:41Carmen Lezeth: Did you read the article?
- 20:44Rick Costa: I just looked at it to see if it was real, I was like no, no, I didn't read every word, no, Look, there are some articles that are for you and some that are not for you, but it doesn't matter.
- 20:56Carmen Lezeth: Look, I read an article today.
- 20:58Carmen Lezeth: I got so angry and upset I went to comment, which I've never commented before, but I'm so sick of this subject so I went to comment and they would not put my comment.
- 21:08Carmen Lezeth: Shut up, mario.
- 21:09Rick Costa: Shut up, Mario Love you.
- 21:11Rick Costa: Okay, here's what it is.
- 21:14Rick Costa: I am Love you.
- 21:16Carmen Lezeth: Okay, here's what it is the seven common makeup mistakes women over 50 make.
- 21:23Carmen Lezeth: It's by Kelly James.
- 21:25Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to say it.
- 21:26Carmen Lezeth: She wrote a whole article about things that you shouldn't do.
- 21:29Carmen Lezeth: Over Each one of them, I'm like bitch, I'm doing it tomorrow.
- 21:32Carmen Lezeth: Don't wear red lipstick.
- 21:33Carmen Lezeth: Are you fucking kidding me?
- 21:35Carmen Lezeth: Do whatever you want, she's saying.
- 21:37Carmen Lezeth: Wear a different shade because it makes you.
- 21:39Carmen Lezeth: What she should say is if you have pale white skin, maybe you shouldn't wear red lipstick.
- 21:44Carmen Lezeth: Right, that's not what she's saying, but you shouldn't.
- 21:47Carmen Lezeth: I think you should wear whatever you want.
- 21:49Carmen Lezeth: But she was right.
- 21:49Carmen Lezeth: In all this stuff, you need to use a primer.
- 21:52Carmen Lezeth: What, like?
- 21:54Carmen Lezeth: No one is going out there with Pacing a wall.
- 22:05Rick Costa: It's a.
- 22:05Rick Costa: What is going on?
- 22:06Carmen Lezeth: It's the same concept because supposedly you have to make your pores certain ways.
- 22:12Carmen Lezeth: It evens everything out.
- 22:14Carmen Lezeth: It evens everything out and then you put on your foundation.
- 22:16Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 22:17Carmen Lezeth: I'm sick of Telling women what to do with their makeup, with their face, or telling them that they have to wear makeup or whatever they want.
- 22:24Carmen Lezeth: One.
- 22:25Carmen Lezeth: There's one in here that said oh yeah, she wrote failing to use a primer like that's a bad thing, like primer, whatever, okay, wait.
- 22:33Carmen Lezeth: The other one was oh, wearing black liquid eyeliner.
- 22:38Carmen Lezeth: Okay, let me just say this I have never in all my life worn black liquid eyeliner because I can't do it.
- 22:44Carmen Lezeth: All I wanted to do was get like cheap red lipstick and like liquid eyeliner and do the cat thing.
- 22:51Carmen Lezeth: I was so pissed at this thing and she said they look like 70s disco people when you do that.
- 22:57Carmen Lezeth: She wrote that shit in here.
- 22:58Carmen Lezeth: How old is this woman?
- 22:59Carmen Lezeth: Her name?
- 23:01Carmen Lezeth: Let me say it again.
- 23:02Rick Costa: Let me say it again kelly james.
- 23:03Rick Costa: Kelly james, because I know what's on my name kelly k james.
- 23:07Carmen Lezeth: Is she like 80 or 90 years old?
- 23:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 23:09Carmen Lezeth: She's been writing for them for a while though.
- 23:10Carmen Lezeth: I was trying to find her bio and because I was like I wrote kind of a quirky funny, not mean.
- 23:15Carmen Lezeth: I was like can we here's?
- 23:17Carmen Lezeth: I wrote.
- 23:17Carmen Lezeth: I wrote something to the effect of can we get to a place where we stop telling women what they can and can't do over at any age?
- 23:24Carmen Lezeth: If women want to wear red lipstick, let them wear red lipstick.
- 23:27Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 23:28Carmen Lezeth: And I said I right now I'm going to go out and do my best 70s and get me some black eyeliner liquid or whatever.
- 23:33Carmen Lezeth: I was like a little bit funny and I went back a couple of times to look and it wasn't on there like they did.
- 23:38Carmen Lezeth: But they let other people's comments come on Austin.
- 23:41Rick Costa: I'm like.
- 23:42Carmen Lezeth: Oh, you see what they did.
- 23:43Carmen Lezeth: I see what you did there.
- 23:44Carmen Lezeth: So I'm like I'm all over it now.
- 23:46Carmen Lezeth: I just think it's weird Like you have the one extreme on Tik TOK, where they're, you know, 18 year olds and 22 year olds wearing 17 layers of makeup.
- 23:54Carmen Lezeth: Like Let me just tell you what I do every day when I go up for my everyday makeup, and it's like a 10-minute long TikTok and they're like I look caked on All the contouring.
- 24:10Carmen Lezeth: I never even knew what the fuck contouring was until I got on TikTok.
- 24:16Rick Costa: I remember a Spanish lady saying listen, ladies, if you look like a palazo, you're doing too much.
- 24:20Rick Costa: Palazo means clown for the English.
- 24:26Carmen Lezeth: Some of them they do the makeup so beautifully, but I've never had that much makeup on unless I was on stage, and even then it's less than what some of the TikTokers do.
- 24:35Carmen Lezeth: So it's either that extreme or the other extreme, where now you're telling people who are putting oh, she said something about not using I don't know.
- 24:43Carmen Lezeth: She said something about wearing too much loud blue or green.
- 24:47Carmen Lezeth: I'm like you, do you?
- 24:49Carmen Lezeth: Oh, my God, you want to wear green eyeshadow?
- 24:52Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, girl, do your thing Tomorrow.
- 24:55Carmen Lezeth: Red lipstick, green eyeshadow Liquid.
- 24:57Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to have a liquid out.
- 24:59Carmen Lezeth: Girl, do your thing Tomorrow.
- 24:59Carmen Lezeth: Red lipstick, green eyes liquid.
- 25:01Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to have liquid out to here with the cat eyes and I'm going to put on the big flashy.
- 25:06Cynthia Ruiz: You all look like Tammy Faye Baker.
- 25:09Carmen Lezeth: That's who started all that.
- 25:11Carmen Lezeth: You know, it's true, right yeah.
- 25:14Rick Costa: My thing is if I ain't sleeping with you, you ain't got no say in what I look like.
- 25:17Rick Costa: Don't bother with you, you ain't got no say in what I look like Don't care what you think.
- 25:20Carmen Lezeth: Wow, Rick went down a really interesting.
- 25:23Rick Costa: I'm just saying.
- 25:24Carmen Lezeth: I ain't sleeping with you, okay.
- 25:26Carmen Lezeth: But even if they are, what do you care?
- 25:29Carmen Lezeth: I guess you'd have to be attracted to that person.
- 25:31Rick Costa: Well, yeah.
- 25:33Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, don't get me wrong.
- 25:35Carmen Lezeth: I think people wear a lot of makeup all the time.
- 25:39Cynthia Ruiz: I love the videos where they show an older person or someone who just looks like they woke up out of bed and then they're putting all these pounds of makeup and they look like they're 20 years old.
- 25:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 25:51Carmen Lezeth: Do you sleep with your makeup on?
- 25:53Carmen Lezeth: I never sleep with my makeup on.
- 25:54Cynthia Ruiz: I don't wear makeup.
- 25:55Carmen Lezeth: Oh, look at Cynthia Me.
- 25:57Carmen Lezeth: Neither Me, neither I do.
- 26:01Carmen Lezeth: You can see, I have on eyeliner and mascara, can you see?
- 26:05Cynthia Ruiz: I don't even do that, because I rub my eyes so much that it would smudge.
- 26:11Carmen Lezeth: When I don't wear eyeliner or mascara, my eyes are really.
- 26:15Carmen Lezeth: You know, you can't really see them.
- 26:18Rick Costa: Is it the black liquid eyeliner?
- 26:20Carmen Lezeth: It's not black liquid, but tomorrow it will be no, it's just regular it's not even black.
- 26:26Cynthia Ruiz: Is it the old school one you had to burn?
- 26:29Carmen Lezeth: Oh, remember that one.
- 26:30Carmen Lezeth: It was Maybelline, a Revlon One of those, and you would burn it.
- 26:35Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, back in the day I don't even think I wore makeup that much back in the day either.
- 26:41Carmen Lezeth: I don't remember.
- 26:43Carmen Lezeth: I don't think I've ever worn.
- 26:44Carmen Lezeth: I don't wear foundation, but I wear.
- 26:47Carmen Lezeth: You don't even wear eye makeup.
- 26:49Carmen Lezeth: What's your daily routine?
- 26:52Carmen Lezeth: So you get up in the morning, you do what?
- 26:55Cynthia Ruiz: I just wash my face.
- 26:56Cynthia Ruiz: You just naps to me.
- 26:57Cynthia Ruiz: I barely put just wash my face, I don't.
- 26:58Cynthia Ruiz: You just naps to me.
- 26:59Cynthia Ruiz: I barely put cream on my face.
- 27:02Carmen Lezeth: Really, rick, what's your whole thing?
- 27:06Rick Costa: I don't put nothing on my face.
- 27:07Rick Costa: I just wash my face and that's it.
- 27:08Carmen Lezeth: Rick, who's growing a beard?
- 27:10Rick Costa: I see I need to shave, but people say I don't look 54, so I guess I ain't doing anything too bad.
- 27:17Carmen Lezeth: What was the age?
- 27:18Carmen Lezeth: What just happened?
- 27:19Carmen Lezeth: I just got a look what.
- 27:21Carmen Lezeth: He doesn't look 54, so oh, did someone think you looked 54?
- 27:27Rick Costa: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 27:27Rick Costa: Everybody thinks I'm younger, so I can't be doing, you know, something too bad if I'm still looking younger than I am.
- 27:33Carmen Lezeth: I told everyone.
- 27:33Carmen Lezeth: I tell everyone all the time I get Botox here.
- 27:36Carmen Lezeth: I told everyone.
- 27:36Carmen Lezeth: I tell everyone all the time I get Botox here.
- 27:37Carmen Lezeth: I do that, I do wear.
- 27:38Carmen Lezeth: I have no problem sharing this.
- 27:39Carmen Lezeth: I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing makeup.
- 27:41Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 27:42Carmen Lezeth: I just don't like people telling people what they can and can't do.
- 27:46Carmen Lezeth: And also it's like can we get to a place where we think being older is okay?
- 27:52Carmen Lezeth: That was the other part of this whole thing that I wrote is she's making it sound like it's not okay to look older.
- 27:59Carmen Lezeth: You're wearing black eyeliner liquid, whatever mask, whatever it is eyeliner and it makes you look old.
- 28:11Carmen Lezeth: Me too, brother, me too, me too I don't wear no makeup and my whole thing is can we just normalize that we are getting older and we look fabulous, no matter what, or we look ugly, no matter what, or whatever.
- 28:22Carmen Lezeth: Like you have good days, bad days, but this idea that being older is horrible.
- 28:26Carmen Lezeth: I we get mad at hollywood, right for.
- 28:29Carmen Lezeth: But actually we do it all to ourselves, like we all do it all to ourselves, and we keep perpetuating it with articles like this Stupid AARP, we're no longer going after you.
- 28:41Carmen Lezeth: I know I'm so bad.
- 28:42Carmen Lezeth: I was going to go after them to see if we could be on their show, but now I'm pissed because they didn't let my comment go through.
- 28:46Carmen Lezeth: You see how quick our no one's going to sponsor us, because if they piss me off, what if it's just taking them a long time to get to all the comments?
- 28:54Carmen Lezeth: That could have happened, no because I was looking, I was checking and other people were writing.
- 29:05Rick Costa: There weren't no all comments and there's dates and it showed the time it was a new article.
- 29:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, yeah, no, good try for effort.
- 29:07Rick Costa: Yeah, that's trying to be devil's advocate though and I know it's all right.
- 29:10Carmen Lezeth: Look at, I think it's over.
- 29:11Carmen Lezeth: I didn't really try to get us on to arp, but maybe they will, because you know we're lively and fun and fresh Young.
- 29:18Carmen Lezeth: We're not old, we're young.
- 29:20Carmen Lezeth: Okay, on relationships ghosting have you ever ghosted anyone?
- 29:27Carmen Lezeth: Has anyone ever ghosted you?
- 29:31Cynthia Ruiz: No, I do have a friend, though, who was a single mom, and she started talking to this guy and he knew she has a.
- 29:40Carmen Lezeth: she had a kid or online be clear.
- 29:44Cynthia Ruiz: First online they talked online online and he knew that she had a kid.
- 29:48Cynthia Ruiz: Okay, and she's very skeptical about who she brings around her son and stuff like that, which is fine.
- 29:55Cynthia Ruiz: And so after a while, after after them talking, they finally met.
- 29:59Carmen Lezeth: They met for one day and he ghosted her, oh so they met in person and then he never reached out to her again.
- 30:07Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and she tried to reach out to him again.
- 30:11Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, they were supposed to go out one morning for a brunch or something and he stood her up and never called her again wow, that's.
- 30:21Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I'm not laughing, I guess, did they actually are never met they did.
- 30:25Cynthia Ruiz: They didn't meet once, and then they were supposed to go out again and he stood her up.
- 30:30Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, okay did she try to call him and ask him right and he never responded.
- 30:35Cynthia Ruiz: Never responded and she said he's still like active on his social media and everything and nothing why do people do that?
- 30:47Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah, I don't know.
- 30:50Cynthia Ruiz: I think that okay, so it's a very attractive girl.
- 30:53Cynthia Ruiz: She's a beautiful girl, so I know it doesn't matter.
- 30:55Carmen Lezeth: I mean that clearly it's not about her.
- 30:57Carmen Lezeth: I mean it doesn't matter if he's not attracted to her.
- 30:59Carmen Lezeth: He's not attracted to her.
- 31:00Carmen Lezeth: But have a horn is to say something like today.
- 31:03Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 31:04Carmen Lezeth: I'm glad we met yesterday, it was nice to hang out with you, but this isn't gonna work for the two of us.
- 31:09Carmen Lezeth: Okay, it happened to me.
- 31:10Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna say his name, michael.
- 31:11Carmen Lezeth: I'm not gonna say his last name, but his real name is michael.
- 31:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't give a shit.
- 31:14Carmen Lezeth: Don't give a shit.
- 31:15Carmen Lezeth: We met online.
- 31:18Carmen Lezeth: We hung out a few times, we did sleep together, whatever, and then one day didn't hear from him at all, like for two weeks.
- 31:27Carmen Lezeth: Don't ghost me when I know where your motherfucking house is, because now I'm going to show up at your motherfucking house.
- 31:36Carmen Lezeth: I am that person and nothing happened, that he never gave a reason so I then emailed him and I said you need to tell me what's going on, because okay.
- 31:46Carmen Lezeth: So first and this happens to everyone my first thought is something happened right, like yeah, he's not into you, carmen, that's what happened, but he had been on his social media, whatever the hospital yeah, it's what you want, especially when you're seeing someone over and over again.
- 32:06Carmen Lezeth: This wasn't like we just met once and then whatever.
- 32:08Carmen Lezeth: It's like we had seen each other a few times, more than a few times, and we had slept together.
- 32:14Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 32:14Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't like some casual thing.
- 32:17Carmen Lezeth: And then I didn't hear from him for two, after talking every day, texting or whatever.
- 32:22Carmen Lezeth: That's weird.
- 32:23Carmen Lezeth: So finally I said if I don't hear from you by tomorrow, I'm going to go to your house.
- 32:28Carmen Lezeth: I was like I will go to your house because now I'm worried and I don't know your family or nothing.
- 32:32Carmen Lezeth: But something's got to be up this Domingo.
- 32:33Carmen Lezeth: He responded quick.
- 32:35Carmen Lezeth: What's his response?
- 32:38Carmen Lezeth: This was years ago.
- 32:40Carmen Lezeth: He was like it's not you.
- 32:42Carmen Lezeth: I'm like, oh, fuck off.
- 32:43Cynthia Ruiz: Stop.
- 32:44Cynthia Ruiz: I know you're alive now Fuck off.
- 32:47Carmen Lezeth: I'm done, bitch Done.
- 32:49Carmen Lezeth: I was like, wow, what a piece of shit, because it says more about who you are.
- 32:54Carmen Lezeth: If you don't have the maturity or the, just the it's consideration, the respect, to turn around and just tell someone.
- 33:02Carmen Lezeth: You know what.
- 33:03Carmen Lezeth: This isn't working for me.
- 33:05Carmen Lezeth: I thought it was or I met somebody else or I just whatever, I used, whatever it is, just say what you got to say.
- 33:11Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, god, ghosting is weird.
- 33:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, who came up with that?
- 33:17Carmen Lezeth: Was it called something else before?
- 33:19Rick Costa: Standing somebody up.
- 33:20Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 33:24Rick Costa: I feel like what rick standing somebody up.
- 33:26Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, because ghost things are relatively new word in the past 20 years.
- 33:30Carmen Lezeth: I just never knew it before.
- 33:31Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, I'm shook by that whole thing and I was watching again tiktok and somebody was talking about she was really upset because she kept and she was young, you know what I mean and I just felt for her and she was just like we just had such a connection.
- 33:46Carmen Lezeth: I'm like, yeah, no, you did it, sorry.
- 33:47Carmen Lezeth: He was crying and I was like, ooh, I'm just glad I'm not on the dating scene now, cause I think it's so hard, the whole online dating thing.
- 34:00Carmen Lezeth: I'll never do it again.
- 34:02Carmen Lezeth: I'll never do it again.
- 34:04Carmen Lezeth: I did it once.
- 34:05Carmen Lezeth: Never do it again.
- 34:06Carmen Lezeth: And Rick, you're not dating, right.
- 34:09Rick Costa: No, right, rick.
- 34:13Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm not in a position to if I wanted to even.
- 34:15Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 34:15Carmen Lezeth: And Cynthia, we know you're not dating, right, okay?
- 34:17Carmen Lezeth: No, rick, I'm just messing with you.
- 34:21Carmen Lezeth: Rick, you were going to go online and meet somebody.
- 34:25Rick Costa: For what?
- 34:25Rick Costa: Just to be an online friend.
- 34:27Rick Costa: That's all it's going to be.
- 34:29Carmen Lezeth: We are online friends.
- 34:30Carmen Lezeth: Is this not good enough for you, rick?
- 34:32Carmen Lezeth: Yes, I love our friendships, yes, but you're saying you wouldn't do so.
- 34:38Carmen Lezeth: You don't believe in online love relationships.
- 34:41Rick Costa: No, I've seen it work.
- 34:41Rick Costa: I've had friends that literally they only met online but then they met in person.
- 34:46Rick Costa: They eventually obviously did meet eventually, but it would take a long time online, and then they finally met and then they actually got married and they're still married.
- 34:54Carmen Lezeth: Well, Emily did the same thing, right yeah?
- 34:57Cynthia Ruiz: Emily and Gavin.
- 34:59Carmen Lezeth: yeah, and I know four other people who have met online.
- 35:02Carmen Lezeth: I think online is just another option.
- 35:04Carmen Lezeth: I just say it's a lot of work and I don't care anymore.
- 35:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't have it in me to be all up in it.
- 35:12Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, online dating is just another option, I think, to find somebody else.
- 35:16Rick Costa: It's going to be easier to reject people online too, because you just block them.
- 35:20Rick Costa: You know that's true because you just block them.
- 35:23Carmen Lezeth: You know that's true.
- 35:23Carmen Lezeth: Not if you start meeting them and then you.
- 35:26Rick Costa: No, I'm saying before that point yeah, before that point yeah If it's a coworker, you're going to still have to deal with them.
- 35:35Carmen Lezeth: I think there's too many people online too who, and I don't know I haven't done it in a long time but they you put up the facade of who you are.
- 35:41Carmen Lezeth: So I think now, like if you can go see their social media accounts or you could go see, I think probably it's better.
- 35:46Carmen Lezeth: But when I was online dating, which was a while ago, like 2008 or whatever 2000,.
- 35:52Carmen Lezeth: When did I meet Robert?
- 35:53Carmen Lezeth: It was like 2004.
- 35:55Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so a while ago it wasn't like we had all these videos and everything you could see people's social media and everything Right.
- 36:02Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't like we had all these videos and everything you could see people's social media and everything right.
- 36:05Carmen Lezeth: It was just like pictures or whatever.
- 36:06Carmen Lezeth: But I guess now you could show your links and just they can find out everything about you.
- 36:08Carmen Lezeth: I would think that's why it's harder to then meet someone and then just ghost them.
- 36:13Carmen Lezeth: Why wouldn't you just be like oh, I don't think the chemistry is there.
- 36:22Rick Costa: Because like you said the maturity is lacking.
- 36:23Carmen Lezeth: Maybe yeah, I don't think I could ever turn around and stop talking to someone and not tell them why, or let them know why if it's not an obvious reason.
- 36:33Carmen Lezeth: Like you're a stupid fuck tard.
- 36:35Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean and I probably told you that, but it's just a decent thing to do to be like you.
- 36:41Carmen Lezeth: You know what this isn't.
- 36:41Carmen Lezeth: I'm glad we had dinner, it was nice to meet you, blah blah, whatever, but I don't think this is going to work.
- 36:46Carmen Lezeth: Why is it so hard?
- 36:47Carmen Lezeth: And, by the way, you can do it by text now, exactly, you could just text somebody.
- 36:54Carmen Lezeth: What's the point of ghosting when you can just text?
- 36:57Carmen Lezeth: You can email the motherfucker.
- 36:58Carmen Lezeth: You can put a little paragraph together.
- 37:01Carmen Lezeth: It's not me, it's you.
- 37:08Rick Costa: I had a friend recently you know I'm talking about probably in a minute but we talked every day, just friends, and then all of a sudden something happened, A fence happened on her part, and then all of a sudden just wouldn't talk and I'm like texting Hello.
- 37:22Carmen Lezeth: What's going on?
- 37:22Carmen Lezeth: I know who they are.
- 37:23Rick Costa: You know who they are, and days and days gone by, then finally do what I'm like.
- 37:29Rick Costa: You could have just said something before, instead of making me text you every day.
- 37:35Carmen Lezeth: Okay, Ooh, in the green room you'll have to give me all the juice.
- 37:40Rick Costa: When you hear who it is, you'll be like, oh wow.
- 37:39Rick Costa: You'll have to give me all the juice when you hear who it is.
- 37:43Carmen Lezeth: You'll be like, oh, wow, I'm like there's so many people in your life that you've had issues with, you're so problematic, I can't keep it straight.
- 37:51Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, look, I think relationships are hard, but I think you make them harder when you're just not up front about it, and I think the other side of that, too, is am I going to go running after this guy, michael?
- 38:04Carmen Lezeth: I was like, oh fuck, no, you know what.
- 38:06Carmen Lezeth: I just needed to know.
- 38:07Carmen Lezeth: I'm good, I'm done.
- 38:08Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to be like, oh, but no, we good, we know who you are.
- 38:12Carmen Lezeth: That's all I needed to know was you showed me more of who you are.
- 38:17Carmen Lezeth: In that moment, yeah, yeah, that moment, yeah, yeah, come on through my angelo.
- 38:26Carmen Lezeth: When someone shows you, believe them the first, it's true.
- 38:28Carmen Lezeth: Why is it such a hard concept to understand, though?
- 38:30Carmen Lezeth: I think because we really want people to like us.
- 38:34Carmen Lezeth: We really want people to think we're great and wonderful, and it's hard to think that not everyone likes us yeah, nice dark one but why?
- 38:46Carmen Lezeth: look at, I am.
- 38:48Carmen Lezeth: I have said it before, I'll say it a million more times I am grateful when I know somebody doesn't want to be in my life.
- 38:54Carmen Lezeth: I am grateful because all that means is it opens the door and an avenue to the possibility of someone else who is better, or somebody else that might bring more happiness and joy.
- 39:06Carmen Lezeth: I don't want people in my life who don't want to be in it.
- 39:09Carmen Lezeth: So if you tell me that and you show me that, I'm good.
- 39:14Rick Costa: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:16Carmen Lezeth: I find it a blessing, like I know.
- 39:20Rick Costa: I'm a weirdo.
- 39:20Rick Costa: If I drag you down anyway, then see ya yeah, I don't know.
- 39:25Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 39:25Carmen Lezeth: I have a feeling that most people don't believe me.
- 39:28Carmen Lezeth: But not that don't believe me, but don't practice it right.
- 39:32Carmen Lezeth: It's easier to say, but then, when rejection comes, you don't embrace it, you push back on it because it hurts a lot of people think I can fix it, but sometimes you can't.
- 39:42Carmen Lezeth: But what do you mean?
- 39:44Carmen Lezeth: Fix it?
- 39:44Carmen Lezeth: You can't fix another person.
- 39:45Carmen Lezeth: I can't make you love me.
- 39:47Carmen Lezeth: I know that Some people feel that way.
- 39:51Rick Costa: Yes, exactly I went through that with somebody in my life and we had to go to counseling.
- 39:56Rick Costa: Out of her mouth said I thought I could change him, I thought I could fix him.
- 40:02Rick Costa: Relationship 101.
- 40:04Rick Costa: Out of her mouth said I thought I could change him and thought I could fix him.
- 40:06Rick Costa: And I'm like relationship 101.
- 40:07Carmen Lezeth: What's wrong with you?
- 40:08Carmen Lezeth: Okay, this must be your ex-wife, because say no name.
- 40:11Carmen Lezeth: He said counts like I'm like.
- 40:14Rick Costa: Okay, he's got a terry k is gonna say the name, say the name I know, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that, I don't know.
- 40:23Carmen Lezeth: Look, I think women have always been under the illusion that if you do A, b, c and D, then he will love you.
- 40:31Carmen Lezeth: So we think we can fix men, or that's what I don't know.
- 40:34Carmen Lezeth: When I was growing up, I think that was the overall thought process Like you can get a good man if you do all of these things, and then to keep them, you have to keep doing all these things.
- 40:48Carmen Lezeth: And so what do you mean?
- 40:48Carmen Lezeth: Of course I can fix you rick if I do all this, and it's just.
- 40:50Carmen Lezeth: You can't fix any.
- 40:50Carmen Lezeth: There's nothing to fix.
- 40:50Carmen Lezeth: It's just when either you accept it or you don't.
- 40:54Carmen Lezeth: Those are your choices.
- 40:56Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 40:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, um, I remember I had a couple friends who were like like they.
- 41:02Carmen Lezeth: They met their soon to be husbands, but when they first met them, we were all at a party, whatever.
- 41:06Carmen Lezeth: And, oh my God, I love football.
- 41:08Carmen Lezeth: I'm like you don't love football.
- 41:09Carmen Lezeth: No, I love football.
- 41:11Carmen Lezeth: Like I already knew where this was going.
- 41:14Carmen Lezeth: Okay, what else I wanted to talk about on being Gen X, fashions from back then.
- 41:23Carmen Lezeth: Do you remember, cynthia?
- 41:26Carmen Lezeth: You might be too young, but do you remember we used to wear.
- 41:28Carmen Lezeth: Remember the roach clips had the feathers, oh my God.
- 41:33Carmen Lezeth: Yes, we'd wear them in our hair like we'd have, but only one with all the feathers.
- 41:38Carmen Lezeth: I had a purple one, rick is like roach, what, what?
- 41:43Carmen Lezeth: None of us smoked pop, but we just thought it was poor.
- 41:46Carmen Lezeth: We had the roach clips and we put him in your hair and it would just like walk around like you were a fool yeah, that was one of the things I was thinking about.
- 41:53Carmen Lezeth: Gen x okay, what else?
- 41:54Carmen Lezeth: Gen x clothing from back in the day it's all coming back.
- 41:58Carmen Lezeth: All the baggy clothing is back, all the big stuff like big pants and whatever.
- 42:05Carmen Lezeth: What?
- 42:05Rick Costa: about the big hair, the big hair, coming back too.
- 42:10Carmen Lezeth: The hair.
- 42:11Carmen Lezeth: I hope so.
- 42:12Carmen Lezeth: I put my hair down.
- 42:13Carmen Lezeth: My hair was really big.
- 42:14Carmen Lezeth: I just put it down and I got in today.
- 42:17Cynthia Ruiz: I think I have a picture of you with your hair out.
- 42:20Cynthia Ruiz: I could do it right now.
- 42:21Cynthia Ruiz: You and Audrey, both your hairs were like out there.
- 42:25Carmen Lezeth: I know, but Cynthia doesn't like people's hair out, so my hair could just be out normal and she's.
- 42:29Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, it's so big, it's so big.
- 42:32Cynthia Ruiz: But back in the 80s it was big my hair was big in the 80s.
- 42:38Carmen Lezeth: First of all, my hair was really straight in the 80s.
- 42:42Cynthia Ruiz: So, first of all, my hair was really straight in the 80s, so I think you're confusion.
- 42:44Cynthia Ruiz: I used to have my hair straightened all the time.
- 42:45Cynthia Ruiz: I'll bring a picture next time if I can find it.
- 42:46Cynthia Ruiz: Where's the picture?
- 42:47Cynthia Ruiz: It's somewhere with my albums.
- 42:50Cynthia Ruiz: I'll see if I can find it.
- 42:51Carmen Lezeth: You might not be able to because you ain't got a phone that can support that accent.
- 42:54Carmen Lezeth: I have pictures of my hair really big on my website.
- 43:01Carmen Lezeth: Remember the alligator polo shirt?
- 43:03Carmen Lezeth: Eyes on those are back now Big time.
- 43:07Rick Costa: Real wild.
- 43:08Carmen Lezeth: Did you wear Nike sneakers and Gloria Vanderbilt's jeans?
- 43:13Rick Costa: Nope.
- 43:13Rick Costa: My parents were like why are we going to buy something that's $100 if I get something for $25?
- 43:18Carmen Lezeth: Okay, our parents did not buy us these, we got them at like wherever we got those Biting in the basement Like it wasn't.
- 43:27Carmen Lezeth: I was never into fashion.
- 43:30Rick Costa: I was never into fashion period at all.
- 43:34Carmen Lezeth: And we weren't so you so it was very colorful.
- 43:36Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so when you were growing up, what was the thing with you and your friends, what was your thing?
- 43:42Carmen Lezeth: And you grew up in Connecticut.
- 43:44Rick Costa: Correct.
- 43:44Carmen Lezeth: Yes, very bougie, that's very bougie.
- 43:47Carmen Lezeth: Connecticut is not as bougie as you think Okay, all right.
- 43:54Rick Costa: All right, so I don't know what you're asking me.
- 43:55Rick Costa: That would be more specific, please.
- 43:57Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 43:57Carmen Lezeth: So when you were growing up, what was it like as a kid?
- 44:02Carmen Lezeth: Did you hang out on the street?
- 44:03Carmen Lezeth: Did you ride your bike?
- 44:03Rick Costa: Did you do skateboarding?
- 44:04Rick Costa: Never had a bike, never had a bike.
- 44:06Carmen Lezeth: Never had a skateboard.
- 44:06Carmen Lezeth: Do you know how to ride a bike?
- 44:08Rick Costa: When I went to Canada once, my cousins tried to teach me and I figured it out.
- 44:12Rick Costa: Yeah, I never had a bike.
- 44:15Rick Costa: I'm telling you, man, my parents didn't know anything.
- 44:18Rick Costa: We weren nothing we weren't allowed to go to them.
- 44:27Rick Costa: We didn't own.
- 44:28Rick Costa: I didn't own a bike either, but I know how to ride a bike and we all had.
- 44:29Carmen Lezeth: We weren't allowed to go to the movies.
- 44:30Carmen Lezeth: Couldn't go to the movies.
- 44:30Rick Costa: Not allowed to go to movies nope, is this because you were religious?
- 44:32Rick Costa: No, they were not religious.
- 44:32Rick Costa: They were the ones that stopped me.
- 44:34Rick Costa: I'm you know, it was all about them super strict and had to be home by 10 o'clock.
- 44:40Rick Costa: I'm like you know, when you get to a certain age 10 o'clock.
- 44:41Rick Costa: I'm like you know, when you get to a certain age, 10 o'clock is when the party's starting.
- 44:44Rick Costa: No, I don't care how old you are, 10 o'clock.
- 44:47Rick Costa: You got to be home by 10 o'clock.
- 44:48Rick Costa: It was pretty strict.
- 44:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but why was it strict?
- 44:53Rick Costa: Because that's the way they were.
- 44:54Carmen Lezeth: That's the way they were.
- 44:56Rick Costa: That's just the way they were.
- 44:59Rick Costa: I should be jealous of my cousins because they used to be able to go to movies, they used to be able to go out and they're like oh yeah, your parents are really strict.
- 45:07Rick Costa: I know you ain't got to tell me.
- 45:08Carmen Lezeth: You're the only child.
- 45:10Rick Costa: No, I have a brother.
- 45:11Carmen Lezeth: You have a brother.
- 45:12Carmen Lezeth: Were they strict with him too?
- 45:13Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, was he older, younger?
- 45:16Rick Costa: Younger.
- 45:17Rick Costa: He looks older now, but yeah, I don't know why.
- 45:19Carmen Lezeth: I just said that was mean I know that's evil, but you know jesus and everything.
- 45:23Carmen Lezeth: I'm just sorry it's always the christian people, someone, always the christian people.
- 45:31Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so I'm just confused.
- 45:33Carmen Lezeth: So this kind of explains your obsession with marveling all of that stuff actually, in a lot of ways.
- 45:38Carmen Lezeth: Did you miss out on that as a kid?
- 45:40Carmen Lezeth: My dad?
- 45:41Rick Costa: he was like if I ever catch you watching Flintstones, I'm going to yabba-dabba-do you upside the head.
- 45:49Rick Costa: He did not want us watching cartoons.
- 45:51Rick Costa: Of course we snuck and watched them anyway, but very strict.
- 45:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, I didn't mean it.
- 45:56Carmen Lezeth: Is this a touchy subject for you?
- 45:58Rick Costa: It's history, it's what happened, can't change it.
- 46:03Carmen Lezeth: What's your perspective of your childhood?
- 46:05Carmen Lezeth: Do you think of it as a good childhood or a bad childhood?
- 46:09Cynthia Ruiz: Or a little bit of both.
- 46:10Carmen Lezeth: Huh.
- 46:10Cynthia Ruiz: Not so great.
- 46:12Rick Costa: Not so great.
- 46:13Rick Costa: He was an alcoholic, my dad.
- 46:14@britishashley: My mom, was fine.
- 46:15Rick Costa: I didn't have a problem with my mom, but dad was an alcoholic and it made life really rough.
- 46:19Carmen Lezeth: Was that mostly why they were so strict is because he was an alcoholic?
- 46:24Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't really.
- 46:25Rick Costa: No, it was the way they were brought up in Portugal, azores, farmland, strict.
- 46:31Rick Costa: They didn't have no TV, none of that, blah, blah, blah.
- 46:33Rick Costa: And he was very abusive and one time he hit me really bad, beat me, whatever, and he goes.
- 46:38Rick Costa: You're lucky.
- 46:39Rick Costa: I'm like okay.
- 46:40Rick Costa: How am I lucky when?
- 46:41Rick Costa: And he goes, you're lucky.
- 46:41Rick Costa: I'm like okay.
- 46:42Rick Costa: How am I lucky when my dad beat me?
- 46:43Rick Costa: I flew across the room and there's blood everywhere.
- 46:45Rick Costa: At least that ain't happening.
- 46:46Cynthia Ruiz: I'm like so you should have compassion, you should understand what it's like.
- 46:51Rick Costa: Yeah, yeah, it was not great.
- 46:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, well, I didn't mean to bring us down here.
- 46:58Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry.
- 47:00Carmen Lezeth: So how did you, but I'm going to ask you anyway?
- 47:03Carmen Lezeth: Did you, cynthia, what's behind you?
- 47:06Carmen Lezeth: What's that blue thing?
- 47:07Carmen Lezeth: It looks like a leg, but it's a towel, like it, right?
- 47:11Carmen Lezeth: Did it look like a weird?
- 47:16Rick Costa: It's Xavier's bionic leg.
- 47:17Rick Costa: He's getting ready to put in.
- 47:21Carmen Lezeth: When you were raising your kid, though, did you make it a point not to be that person?
- 47:27Rick Costa: I was so opposite, yeah, so opposite.
- 47:30Rick Costa: Never hit him Ever, ever, ever.
- 47:31Rick Costa: I didn't have to, because I trained him fear of God From the beginning.
- 47:35Rick Costa: People wait too long to be strict.
- 47:37Rick Costa: I'm like no, from day one you be strict.
- 47:41Rick Costa: You don't let them do anything they want.
- 47:43Rick Costa: I'm sorry because the world ain't going to let you do whatever you want either.
- 47:46Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'm not a parent.
- 47:50Carmen Lezeth: I don't think you know.
- 47:53Carmen Lezeth: This is one of those subjects that I do try to stay out of.
- 47:56Carmen Lezeth: But I do not believe in beating your kid.
- 48:00Carmen Lezeth: I don't see how that ever can help someone and I know too many people who were beaten and it just made them more resentful, but didn't.
- 48:10Carmen Lezeth: I was never hit as a kid.
- 48:12Carmen Lezeth: I was hit once by my mother and it was the first and last time she ever hit me because she welted my face.
- 48:18Carmen Lezeth: She was so upset and it wasn't about me at all and I was just a little kid.
- 48:22Carmen Lezeth: But I said F you to her as a little kid.
- 48:25Carmen Lezeth: I was like seven or eight years old and she picked me up by the collar and kept hitting me and then people took her off of me and they had to put stakes on my face and I always remember that, I always.
- 48:36Carmen Lezeth: I can still remember that like weird.
- 48:38Carmen Lezeth: But that wasn't about me.
- 48:39Carmen Lezeth: But that's a great example of why you should never want to hit children, because sometimes you're taking out aggression In the same respects.
- 48:46Carmen Lezeth: I do understand if a little kid is going to play with the, but I would opt for people never to hit their children.
- 48:53Carmen Lezeth: But, cynthia, what do you think?
- 49:05Carmen Lezeth: I know that you came into your marriage with a lot of children, a lot of children.
- 49:13Cynthia Ruiz: You know what I mean yeah, no, I don't, I've never hit them or my nieces.
- 49:19Carmen Lezeth: I was just going to say but what about your nieces?
- 49:25Cynthia Ruiz: Right, no, or my nieces?
- 49:25Cynthia Ruiz: I was just gonna say but what about your right now?
- 49:27Cynthia Ruiz: Or my nieces and nephew?
- 49:28Cynthia Ruiz: I'd yell at them, yeah, and I definitely put the fear in them when I yell at them.
- 49:31Carmen Lezeth: I met them because I wanted to hit two of them one time under the car I was going to they're better now.
- 49:39Cynthia Ruiz: But but yeah, I like even now if I yell, it's like they get flashbacks, they say when I used to yell at them and stuff.
- 49:49Rick Costa: But hey, they all turned out pretty good, that's so funny and that's interesting with me too is that if my dad had realized, all you got to do is yell at me, because I'd be like freaking out just from the yelling, you didn't have to yell.
- 50:08Carmen Lezeth: Now my brother.
- 50:09Carmen Lezeth: On the other hand, when people don't know, when people abuse kids, it's not about the kids, it's about them.
- 50:11Carmen Lezeth: It's a weird and this I can say.
- 50:12Carmen Lezeth: I feel very comfortable saying this it's a weird sense of power and I love this topic of power, whether you're talking about people who own companies and how they treat employees, or whether it's parenting or whatever.
- 50:23Carmen Lezeth: It is a misconception of being the person in charge, which is why you see people hit people and I'm no sociologist, I'm not a doctor, whatever but I'm just saying, as a person who's watched it my entire life from different families, the vantage that I have because of my circumstances I was a part of so many different families and just watching how people parents especially exert power or older siblings exert power, and it's all fake power because it's not based on respect at all, it's based on fear, and when your children fear you as opposed to respect you, you're doing it wrong.
- 51:02Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean and I know I'm not wrong on that.
- 51:04Carmen Lezeth: It's just too much evidence.
- 51:06Rick Costa: You know what I mean.
- 51:06Rick Costa: That was what my dad was, that was his whole point, was fear.
- 51:10Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, fear, and as a little kid that sucks.
- 51:13Carmen Lezeth: Fear will do damage to you.
- 51:15Carmen Lezeth: But as an adult it's not fear anymore, it becomes hate and resentment and lack of respect, which is parents want to be respected but then they go about it all wrong, but anyways, how did we get into it?
- 51:30Carmen Lezeth: That's not on the list, people.
- 51:32Carmen Lezeth: It's not on the list.
- 51:34Carmen Lezeth: This is all Cynthia's fault for not being able to watch our guy giving us good stuff.
- 51:42Carmen Lezeth: All right.
- 51:43Rick Costa: I'm over keen, and I'm fine.
- 51:44Rick Costa: Now I'm over keen, that's the joy.
- 51:47Carmen Lezeth: You turned out okay.
- 51:51Cynthia Ruiz: Turned out all right.
- 51:53Rick Costa: And my son can testify and my son can testify.
- 51:55Rick Costa: Never hit, him Never hit him.
- 52:00Carmen Lezeth: Did you ever beat up anybody else, though, like in school I?
- 52:03Rick Costa: don't see you beating up anybody.
- 52:03Rick Costa: Well, me and my brother went roughhouse.
- 52:06Carmen Lezeth: Is roughhouse, another word for beating each other up.
- 52:10Rick Costa: When, I think, beat each other up like you are trying to permanently not permanently, but you're trying to cause damage or roughhouses.
- 52:15Rick Costa: You're just, you're fighting but you're not necessarily trying to really hurt them.
- 52:19Rick Costa: It's like when people watch, you ever see kids play wrestling.
- 52:22Rick Costa: They watch wrestling and then try to throw each other on the bed or whatever, like a wrestler does, just like that, trying to hurt them.
- 52:30Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I don't know anything about that.
- 52:32Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 52:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm being honest, I don't have kids, I don't know, and all my kids are girls, except for Rockwell, who's two.
- 52:39Carmen Lezeth: Rockwell is two.
- 52:44Rick Costa: I except for Rockwell who's two?
- 52:45Carmen Lezeth: Rockwell is two.
- 52:45Carmen Lezeth: I can't picture you throwing Cynthia on the bed Me throwing Cynthia on the bed.
- 52:47Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I can't picture that Cynthia and I didn't have that relationship.
- 52:50Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, I think, hated me for most of my life.
- 52:54Cynthia Ruiz: No, I didn't.
- 52:54Cynthia Ruiz: Oh, this really got interesting.
- 52:57Carmen Lezeth: Rick is now.
- 52:57Carmen Lezeth: Now we're going to close down the show.
- 52:59Rick Costa: We ain't talking about me, no more, I'm done Now.
- 53:00Rick Costa: Now we're going to close down the store.
- 53:01Rick Costa: We ain't talking about me, no more.
- 53:02Rick Costa: I'm done Now.
- 53:02Rick Costa: It's all her.
- 53:03Rick Costa: It's all her, right there, it's actually funny.
- 53:06Cynthia Ruiz: Today I was at work and I was just bored and so I went on our website and our employee website and there's this little thing that you can like, a little survey you can do to see if you have any mental illness, any depression stuff like that.
- 53:18Cynthia Ruiz: Apparently I have anger issues.
- 53:19Cynthia Ruiz: What do do to see if you have any mental illness, any depression stuff like that apparently I have?
- 53:25Carmen Lezeth: anger issues?
- 53:26Carmen Lezeth: I agree, you do.
- 53:27Carmen Lezeth: You're, it's always the quiet ones, always, I'm telling you, always the quiet ones.
- 53:33Carmen Lezeth: Is that when it said you have anger issues?
- 53:35Carmen Lezeth: Yeah?
- 53:37Cynthia Ruiz: and it was funny because it was one of the questions where was when someoneys you do you feel like punching them?
- 53:43Carmen Lezeth: And I put yes.
- 53:44Carmen Lezeth: You do Because you don't tell okay.
- 53:48Carmen Lezeth: This is why you don't tell people how you feel immediately.
- 53:51Carmen Lezeth: What oh, no, it's okay Is the morning green.
- 53:54Carmen Lezeth: What is the bringing?
- 53:58Rick Costa: Wait, don't tell me you pushed Xavier to understand.
- 54:00Rick Costa: I'm just kidding, I know, oh no the truth goes out.
- 54:08Carmen Lezeth: No, okay, did you find that surprising that it came up?
- 54:13Carmen Lezeth: I'm not surprised that it said you.
- 54:15Cynthia Ruiz: No, actually I wasn't surprised.
- 54:17Cynthia Ruiz: I was laughing about it, because Juan has always said that I have anger issues.
- 54:20Cynthia Ruiz: I think you do too, yeah.
- 54:22Cynthia Ruiz: I do get road rage, sometimes here's the thing.
- 54:26Carmen Lezeth: You would never do anything about it, so you hold it all inside.
- 54:29Cynthia Ruiz: Yeah.
- 54:30Carmen Lezeth: Whereas I'm the opposite, like if I'm mad at you, I'm a tell you, I'm a let it out, so don't build up yeah.
- 54:36Rick Costa: Holding stuff like that and it's not good for you actually.
- 54:38Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but, rick, I don't think you would yell and scream at anybody either if you were upset.
- 54:43Cynthia Ruiz: Well see, xavier just said that Cynthia will tell you about yourself.
- 54:47Cynthia Ruiz: No, no.
- 54:49Carmen Lezeth: But we had to try it.
- 54:50Carmen Lezeth: Okay, that's different.
- 54:51Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I mean, as a kid, that's different, that's different.
- 54:55Carmen Lezeth: But when we were growing up I didn't really hang out with you.
- 54:59Cynthia Ruiz: Well, where were you?
- 55:02Cynthia Ruiz: I was like little, while you guys were going out.
- 55:05Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, okay, yeah, but you were like a quiet, good little girl, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
- 55:11Carmen Lezeth: And now, how did we connect?
- 55:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know how we became friends.
- 55:16Carmen Lezeth: When did that happen?
- 55:19Carmen Lezeth: Like I'm closer to you, I don't even talk to your sisters anymore.
- 55:23Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I said happy birthday to Audrey the other day, but I don't really talk to them at all and they're more my age.
- 55:29Carmen Lezeth: But you and I connected.
- 55:31Carmen Lezeth: I know why we connected, but I don't understand how we connected.
- 55:36Carmen Lezeth: Interesting We'll have to talk in the green room.
- 55:39Carmen Lezeth: Interesting.
- 55:40Carmen Lezeth: I know why we connected because we have similar issues with fathers.
- 55:43Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 55:45Carmen Lezeth: So I know that I got that, but I don't remember when that actually happened.
- 55:50Carmen Lezeth: So we'll have to investigate that and then write a book about it.
- 55:53Cynthia Ruiz: All right.
- 55:55Carmen Lezeth: We're past the hour mark and, yeah, we're going to do a lot of editing on this or we'll just do a whole different podcast.
- 56:01Carmen Lezeth: I don't know lot of editing on this or we'll just do a whole different podcast, I don't know.
- 56:05Cynthia Ruiz: But that was random and all over the place and cynthia is gonna buy a new phone yeah, I don't think at some point.
- 56:12Carmen Lezeth: Oh my god, I will.
- 56:13Carmen Lezeth: Okay, we're gonna talk in the green one.
- 56:14Carmen Lezeth: I will buy you a new phone.
- 56:15Carmen Lezeth: I'll give you my credit card.
- 56:17Carmen Lezeth: Just buy the damn phone.
- 56:18Carmen Lezeth: Um, um, rick, as always, thank you so much, cynthia.
- 56:22Carmen Lezeth: Thank you for coming on, even though you ruined my whole four minute thing on this pretty guy.
- 56:27Carmen Lezeth: But the whole topic of the show, but it's all good.
- 56:30Carmen Lezeth: We just went down a whole other random area.
- 56:32Carmen Lezeth: I'm half and sad about rick's terrible childhood and about alcoholism and about ghosting, but whatever, it's all about you.
- 56:41Carmen Lezeth: We love you All good.
- 56:43Carmen Lezeth: Thank you for stopping by.
- 56:45Carmen Lezeth: Everyone, remember it really is all about the joy.
