- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on relatables.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I don't see any reason I think you should just
- 0:04Speaker 2: be like you're I love you. Material.
- 0:07Speaker 1: That's cute, that's actually really cute. My last one. Tell
- 0:11Speaker 1: us what your guy best friend has said and we'll
- 0:13Speaker 1: tell you what it means. I don't know what I
- 0:15Speaker 1: would do without you.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Relatable relatable talk said by myself, Jake Craig aka Daddy,
- 0:31Speaker 2: and my partner in crime, Whatdie Clark aka Mummy, and
- 0:35Speaker 2: you guys are the baddes, And usually I say why
- 0:40Speaker 2: oldies um me when I forgot to do it. But
- 0:41Speaker 2: that doesn't matter because we have to get into the
- 0:42Speaker 2: episode straight away, and we are going to listen to
- 0:45Speaker 2: some voice notes of why you guys think you're petty.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I've never had Jake not talk so much in the intro.
- 0:50Speaker 1: We're not messing around today.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Never had me or you've never had me talk so
- 0:54Speaker 2: much in the intro.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yeah, not talk so much. Normally you have like a
- 0:57Speaker 1: little bit of an antidote about your life or something.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I always every time we go to record here here's
- 1:02Speaker 2: me doing it again. Every time every time we.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Go to I was caught on I need a time.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Normally there's a minute or two for me to like
- 1:08Speaker 1: your fault, sit here, get ready, ready to play the
- 1:12Speaker 1: voice notes. You'll tell me about your life.
- 1:14Speaker 2: This is your fault for mentioning it. But every time
- 1:17Speaker 2: we start the episode, right before we press record, we'll go, okay,
- 1:20Speaker 2: what are we going to do with we write down
- 1:21Speaker 2: right down on the white board, and we have like
- 1:24Speaker 2: catch up as like second or third. Yeah, and then
- 1:27Speaker 2: I always always always make it go first. But let's yeah,
- 1:33Speaker 2: stop stop, So let's get straight into the relatables voice
- 1:38Speaker 2: nails with.
- 1:39Speaker 1: The prompt being what's the pettiest thing you have ever done?
- 1:43Speaker 1: And we said this was two weeks ago, baddies.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I think this was I think the question was what
- 1:48Speaker 2: made you realize you're petty? Nah?
- 1:50Speaker 1: I don't think it was. Well, the baddies took it
- 1:52Speaker 1: as what's the pettiest thing you've ever done?
- 1:53Speaker 2: I like it, I guess at the same time that
- 1:56Speaker 2: would realize.
- 1:57Speaker 1: We preface that we love a bit of petty. There's
- 2:00Speaker 1: a time and a place for pettiness. Cheat it on
- 2:02Speaker 1: toxic ex bad dude if it's a dude. In general,
- 2:06Speaker 1: anything like that.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Petty things feel good when the person you've done it too,
- 2:10Speaker 2: brings it up and brings up the fact that it
- 2:12Speaker 2: like affected them.
- 2:14Speaker 1: That's so, that's so toxic. I reckon, there's a time
- 2:18Speaker 1: and the place a little just a little bit to
- 2:20Speaker 1: be toxic. Let's listen to me.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like toxicity in like healthy amounts, you know,
- 2:26Speaker 2: everything everything in what's.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It called abortion?
- 2:29Speaker 2: Yeah, like we don't like toxicity. But okay, no, no, no incorrect.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I like toxicity when it's pettiness. Go on, It's like, yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 2: okay voicemail.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Number one, Hey boys, love the pod. I realized I
- 2:41Speaker 3: was petty when me and my ex broke up. I
- 2:44Speaker 3: found out that he had been cheating on me for
- 2:47Speaker 3: about a year, the last year of our relationship, and
- 2:51Speaker 3: because he's not the smartest man in the world, and
- 2:53Speaker 3: to get this pathwards all the time, my email was
- 2:56Speaker 3: his recovery email to get into his own email account.
- 3:01Speaker 3: So I got into his email and went through and
- 3:06Speaker 3: changed his past moods on all of the dating apps
- 3:09Speaker 3: that he had been on, and then also all of
- 3:13Speaker 3: his descriptions to all of his Netflix and stand and
- 3:17Speaker 3: everything as well, and just decided to suck some ship
- 3:22Speaker 3: up and make it so we couldn't get into any
- 3:24Speaker 3: account that he held access to, which I think is the
- 3:28Speaker 3: bare minimum of what you what he probably deserved, but
- 3:32Speaker 3: also probably one of the most difficult things to come
- 3:35Speaker 3: back from when you can't get into any account that
- 3:38Speaker 3: you have that you have. So, yeah, that's my story.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Hopefully it's not too patty, but I probably should have
- 3:46Speaker 3: done more.
- 3:47Speaker 1: But okay, I know you're you're right. What did you
- 3:50Speaker 1: realize you're Patty should have done more. That's good. That's
- 3:54Speaker 1: really good because also, like all your bank accounts are
- 3:57Speaker 1: associated with it, so you're just losing money as well,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and you can't get back in to like cancel them
- 4:01Speaker 1: or change it, so you actually get to rip the
- 4:03Speaker 1: benefits of the money.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I really like what she did.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's subtle.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I'm a big fan of what she did because at
- 4:10Speaker 2: the same because she said he's not the smartest guy,
- 4:12Speaker 2: it's a very good chance he's not going to catch
- 4:14Speaker 2: on to what she did because he may not remember
- 4:17Speaker 2: that her email is the recovery email. You know, what
- 4:20Speaker 2: you could have done. One further is if you could
- 4:22Speaker 2: I don't know if you can do this, but use
- 4:24Speaker 2: your your email as a recovery email to change his
- 4:27Speaker 2: email password, oh completely and lock him out forever.
- 4:31Speaker 1: He has to start a new one everything.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So and what that would have done, right is because
- 4:34Speaker 2: he can't then cancel Netflix and that no, no, no.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So the reason I say is because I've recently I
- 4:39Speaker 2: went through this the other day. Sorry, I'm fucking with
- 4:42Speaker 2: something back here. I went through this the other day.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I went through and I thought, I'm not using any
- 4:47Speaker 2: of my streaming services at the moment. I'm going to
- 4:50Speaker 2: cancel them all. And I'm gonna I was going to
- 4:53Speaker 2: say to you, go cancel all of yours and then
- 4:55Speaker 2: we'll reget them on the business because there's definitely an
- 4:58Speaker 2: argument of claimability there.
- 4:59Speaker 1: There is.
- 5:00Speaker 2: So I've gone and canceled all night. And but I
- 5:04Speaker 2: went and I so I went in my bank statements
- 5:05Speaker 2: to check what I was getting charged for. And so
- 5:08Speaker 2: I've been paying for KO, which is like a sports
- 5:10Speaker 2: thing here in Australia.
- 5:12Speaker 1: What do you watch on KO?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Actually, I won't lie to you.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I watch golf golf on care.
- 5:18Speaker 2: You can't get golf anywhere except Kay. Oh no, well
- 5:20Speaker 2: PGA you can get there anyway. But then I was like,
- 5:23Speaker 2: fuck I have I was like, I'm just I'll watch
- 5:25Speaker 2: highlights whatever. And so I went to go get rid
- 5:28Speaker 2: of it, and I went and I couldn't, for the
- 5:32Speaker 2: life of me, figure out what email I made the
- 5:35Speaker 2: account with. Wasn't my email, wasn't any of Relatable's emails,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and so I didn't know what to do. And I
- 5:41Speaker 2: literally couldn't get a hold of anyone at KO. It
- 5:45Speaker 2: was a chatbot that wouldn't send me to a human,
- 5:47Speaker 2: and I was like, Okay, I call my bank. I
- 5:50Speaker 2: had to cancel my card and get a new one
- 5:53Speaker 2: sent to me. Really just so it stops, because the
- 5:56Speaker 2: card's going to cancel and then the account won't be charged,
- 5:58Speaker 2: and then KO will just cancel account for me because
- 6:00Speaker 2: I'm not paying them.
- 6:01Speaker 1: The admin is not like you.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I was doing an admin day. We'll get on to
- 6:05Speaker 2: this later, but basically that's what he would have That's
- 6:09Speaker 2: what he would have had to do. Yeah. Yeah, it
- 6:10Speaker 2: was honestly so annoying.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Guy.
- 6:12Speaker 2: The bank goes, we can't even guarantee it's not going
- 6:14Speaker 2: to charge your account, so just cause again if it happens.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy. I remember I used to have something
- 6:18Speaker 1: with KO too, and it was really really hard to cancel.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Forty a month to a month.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Hell, you're getting ripped watch from golf.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I was getting fucking it is something.
- 6:28Speaker 1: There's got to be a way I can watch the
- 6:29Speaker 1: free Yeah, I agree, it has to be next.
- 6:31Speaker 4: One something petty that I've done. I would say, I'm
- 6:34Speaker 4: not a petty person, but if you, like, if you
- 6:37Speaker 4: cross my line, I'm a different person to you completely.
- 6:40Speaker 4: And so my ex broke up with me for like
- 6:45Speaker 4: one of the dumbest reasons ever. And so when you
- 6:48Speaker 4: came to my place to pick up his clothes, like
- 6:51Speaker 4: he had some clothes at mine, I sprayed his favorite
- 6:54Speaker 4: perfume of mine all over his clothes, like drenched them
- 6:57Speaker 4: in it basically. So yeah, I would say that's pretty petty,
- 7:01Speaker 4: but it was years ago.
- 7:02Speaker 1: So I like that. I like that too.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It was years ago, but who cares.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That's good little hit there, I reckon.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I really like that. I think that that's like, that's
- 7:13Speaker 2: actually that you could have gone pettier without me judging.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's also like it's subtle in a sense
- 7:19Speaker 1: too that he wouldn't pick up on it because it
- 7:21Speaker 1: was just.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Like at your house, and you know what sucks is
- 7:23Speaker 2: like so for this guy at least, So do you
- 7:28Speaker 2: ever when you were younger. I had it happen to
- 7:31Speaker 2: me after I broke up with my first girlfriend. We
- 7:37Speaker 2: were quite young, and I don't know if it was
- 7:38Speaker 2: because maybe when you're young, you know, you're not very
- 7:41Speaker 2: into cologne's and perfumes and like stuff, so maybe she
- 7:44Speaker 2: had a bit of a generic one. I don't know,
- 7:46Speaker 2: but I remember being out somewhere one time and smelling
- 7:50Speaker 2: her perfume and like not remembering why I knew the smell,
- 7:55Speaker 2: and and I smelt it, and I was like, what
- 7:58Speaker 2: the fuck? And then it clocked me up. I was like,
- 8:00Speaker 2: oh my god, that's like such and such as like
- 8:02Speaker 2: old smell, and I was like, how do I still
- 8:05Speaker 2: remember that?
- 8:06Speaker 1: This has happened to me? Even with Cassie, I'll be
- 8:09Speaker 1: at the gym or out in public, I'm like, what
- 8:12Speaker 1: the hell? I was like, why why do I remember that?
- 8:16Speaker 1: And then I clock like, obviously, just a generic perfume
- 8:19Speaker 1: that a lot of women wear, which is funny. And
- 8:22Speaker 1: I'm like, oh wait, maydant? I feel like everyone wears
- 8:24Speaker 1: the same deodorant, yeah, which is funny. Isn't that weird? Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: it's funny how you associate the smell with a person
- 8:30Speaker 1: and so, how long ago was that that you remember that? Oh?
- 8:33Speaker 2: So it was like it was probably like a couple
- 8:35Speaker 2: months after i'd broken up that girlfriend that I remember it.
- 8:38Speaker 2: But this guy that you did this too, he would
- 8:41Speaker 2: have picked up his clothes and not realized straight away,
- 8:44Speaker 2: and he would have got it all over him when
- 8:46Speaker 2: he picked him up and stuff, and then he would
- 8:47Speaker 2: have just been at home thinking, what is that nostalgic?
- 8:54Speaker 2: What is that? Why am I I'm horning? I missed?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Yeah? What is that? Do I regret my decisions? I
- 9:05Speaker 1: think I should call it, but that is I'm going
- 9:09Speaker 1: to say, they weren't that petty.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Nah. You guys could have gone full like ten times
- 9:15Speaker 2: worse and still had me being like, yeah, that's fine.
- 9:17Speaker 1: If you've got some send him to the relatables voicemail.
- 9:20Speaker 1: But the new prompt for next week is, Jake, we.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Are going to do what is like the craziest, wildest
- 9:26Speaker 2: thing that a guy or I guess if you are
- 9:30Speaker 2: a guy that a girl has said during the deed
- 9:33Speaker 2: or like just post yeah or just before. I don't know,
- 9:37Speaker 2: but usually if they say something crazy just before, you're.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Not going to go through yeah anything around sex. It's
- 9:41Speaker 1: the craziest thing. I remember we did an episode it
- 9:43Speaker 1: was like our third episode and a guy finished and yes,
- 9:48Speaker 1: and he said, the eagle has landed.
- 9:53Speaker 2: That was our first ever episodes. That would have been
- 9:56Speaker 2: like five deep mane yeah, five episodes deep. Yeah. Some
- 10:00Speaker 2: one had a story of of a guy finishing and
- 10:02Speaker 2: then being like you but send them be In the
- 10:07Speaker 2: description to the relabel's voicemail, it's like a call sign.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It is no one.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I feel like our call signs of mummy and daddy. Unfortunately,
- 10:13Speaker 2: so you're not going to be able to like.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Should we get a call sign for ourselves? What would
- 10:18Speaker 1: yours be?
- 10:19Speaker 2: So? Yeah, when you finish, what would you want your
- 10:21Speaker 2: call sign to be? Actually, I don't think you'd have
- 10:23Speaker 2: one that isn't cringe true. But let's say, so, what
- 10:27Speaker 2: have we been What have I been reading? No, that's okay. Basically,
- 10:31Speaker 2: let's say we're in a war, we're fighting for our country.
- 10:35Speaker 1: No, I reckon we do? We just finish having sex
- 10:38Speaker 1: with our beautiful partners, and we have a call sign.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Or that'd be more of a saying yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 2: and you're speaking in the third person, what would yours be? Okay,
- 10:45Speaker 2: give me a second I would I say, yours would
- 10:51Speaker 2: be I would do this is what I would say
- 10:52Speaker 2: leading up. The end is near, The end is near.
- 10:57Speaker 1: That sounds very proper, The end is near. I don't
- 11:01Speaker 1: know what mine would be. I feel like someone else
- 11:03Speaker 1: has to give it to Yours would more be like,
- 11:06Speaker 1: this is me ready, this is me.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Go go, go, go, go finish? Was that good for you?
- 11:15Speaker 1: Did you finish? Did you finish well? Three minutes you record?
- 11:32Speaker 2: Okay, baddies, it is time once again for our segment
- 11:38Speaker 2: of ins and outs for the week.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Might I just say, Jake, I am loving this?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Okay, I'm glad that you are loving this, because I'm
- 11:46Speaker 2: going to start with outs again, and I have been
- 11:49Speaker 2: thinking about this one for a while. I'm going to say.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Soft launches, man, Yeah, they're a thing of the past day.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Why were they even a thing in the first place.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I'm sick of soft launches. I don't want to be
- 12:01Speaker 2: looking at a story and thinking like, oh, looks like
- 12:04Speaker 2: such and such has got themselves into a cheeky little
- 12:06Speaker 2: relationship and all I see is a little a little
- 12:09Speaker 2: part of an arm.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Whose hand is that, yeah, exactly whose hand is that?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Whose back of the head is that, I say, Tagger,
- 12:15Speaker 2: give me a full face frontal all right, I don't
- 12:17Speaker 2: even care if you're in a situationship or if you're
- 12:19Speaker 2: in a fresh relationship. I want you to do a
- 12:20Speaker 2: post freaking head on of this person with a bio
- 12:25Speaker 2: of who they are and why you're dating.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Them, and tag them so I don't have to do
- 12:28Speaker 1: the reces tag them.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't even I don't even need to know them.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I don't even need to know you. If I'm being
- 12:34Speaker 2: complete honest with you, I just like to snoop.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and we all know everyone's snooping.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Hey, if you're not snooping, you're drooping. I'm sorry.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I was terrible. I like it. I like it. I
- 12:49Speaker 1: like it. Okay, now I've said it before and I
- 12:53Speaker 1: will say it again, perfect, Ted.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, they're healthy energy drinks. My fridge is docked. Same,
- 13:01Speaker 2: so is our studio one, Jake. It certainly is. I'm
- 13:03Speaker 2: very thankful for that. But yeah, I don't know. I'm
- 13:06Speaker 2: just not a big fan of the other ones. Like
- 13:07Speaker 2: all the other energy drinks, it's like just there's so
- 13:10Speaker 2: much dark packaging. It's not very appealing, and the ingredients
- 13:14Speaker 2: lists never ending. If someone could name me half of
- 13:19Speaker 2: the things on there, I'd be impressed. If someone could
- 13:21Speaker 2: name me two of the things on there, I'd be impressed.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Facts. That's why Murussa created perfect Ted. You didn't even
- 13:26Speaker 1: have us guys in mind when making them, and they
- 13:28Speaker 1: actually slap and might I just ad mat They are
- 13:30Speaker 1: powered by a marcher.
- 13:32Speaker 2: They are very tasty and all natural ingredients as well.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Apple raspberry is my favor.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Ooh, I'm of a juicy peach man myself.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Hey, fair enough, where do you get yours?
- 13:43Speaker 1: You know where I get it from? Jake Coals.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Hey, you know what, I'm a Cole's guy.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Ordie, We're Coals dudes.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Let's go baddest. I have an update that's actually a
- 14:00Speaker 2: day for Roddie. Okay, an update, Okay. I had a
- 14:02Speaker 2: car crash last week, my fault. The developments of that
- 14:06Speaker 2: are that I have paid the person I hit. I
- 14:12Speaker 2: don't want to go into it again. I don't feel
- 14:14Speaker 2: like retell the story, and I also don't feel like
- 14:15Speaker 2: telling you how much I spent. But I did tell
- 14:17Speaker 2: Oddie and all the baddies over on Patreon. If you
- 14:21Speaker 2: want to head over to Patreon and find out how
- 14:22Speaker 2: much it costs me. I won't lie. It's a comical
- 14:24Speaker 2: amount of money and I'm poor.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Now, might I just say, please go to Patreon for
- 14:31Speaker 1: Jake's sake, because actually I kind of need it. He
- 14:33Speaker 1: needs your money.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Go to patreon dot com forward slash letters sixty nine
- 14:38Speaker 2: and sign up for a month so you can go
- 14:41Speaker 2: hear how much it's cost me, and you might feel
- 14:43Speaker 2: better about spending your money. But I got insurance.
- 14:55Speaker 1: A little bit late. It doesn't matter.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah, probably about a week too late.
- 14:59Speaker 1: See you took there's a sign from the world to
- 15:01Speaker 1: get insurance.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I too get as a sign from the world. I
- 15:02Speaker 2: went and got insurance, and I'm I'm all covered. It
- 15:07Speaker 2: feels good. Probably took me like twenty minutes.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Go get in another car crash. It doesn't in day,
- 15:12Speaker 1: do your life.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I gotta wait a couple weeks.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I got a calling off period, mate, don't mean and
- 15:16Speaker 1: then go to how long is the calling off period?
- 15:19Speaker 2: I think it's like two weeks? Okay, yeah, yeah, two weeks.
- 15:21Speaker 2: You can hold off that drive safe for two weeks.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And then I covered.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I got roadside if.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I needed a wind shield, yeah, you got all.
- 15:31Speaker 2: If I win, I went all the way, you know what,
- 15:34Speaker 2: you know what, there was one more thing I could
- 15:36Speaker 2: have got, but it made it a lot more expensive,
- 15:38Speaker 2: with like two hundred extra dollars, and I was like,
- 15:40Speaker 2: don't need that, don't need that, Okay, But what I
- 15:43Speaker 2: wanted this to lead into was so me not having
- 15:47Speaker 2: insurance and then getting in a car accident is very
- 15:50Speaker 2: stupid of me. So I don't know what I want
- 15:52Speaker 2: to call this segment, but I whenever it happens, it
- 15:55Speaker 2: happens quite often in my life, I'll bring it up
- 15:56Speaker 2: on the pod. But I do this thing wre it
- 16:00Speaker 2: was where it's like the twenty minutes of inconvenience to me,
- 16:04Speaker 2: doing the admin of getting the insurance was too much
- 16:07Speaker 2: work to.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Do.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Basically, so that I had a car accident, I had
- 16:13Speaker 2: to pay a lot of money and in hindsight, I
- 16:17Speaker 2: should have just done the twenty minutes. Now maybe we
- 16:21Speaker 2: should call this hindsights or some shit like that. I
- 16:24Speaker 2: did another stupid thing. Didn't really cost me money, but
- 16:27Speaker 2: it just like has cost me some more. It's made
- 16:30Speaker 2: what would have been less of an inconvenience more of
- 16:32Speaker 2: an inconvenience.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You must have a bit of head noise at the moment. Yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: in life to be.
- 16:40Speaker 2: So, I am lucky enough to be a dual citizen
- 16:42Speaker 2: of Canada and Australia.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And a lot of people don't know you're Canadian.
- 16:46Speaker 2: No, no, yeah, so dual citizen. Very lucky. Mum's Canadian
- 16:50Speaker 2: family lives in the Canada, our dad lives here, and
- 16:52Speaker 2: I live here, same country as my father obviously, and
- 16:57Speaker 2: I have an Australian past. And I used to have
- 17:01Speaker 2: a Canadian one, and then one of the one time
- 17:04Speaker 2: I just went to go, I was going to Canada
- 17:06Speaker 2: and I needed to renew my passport, and so I
- 17:08Speaker 2: went and got one, and I just got the I
- 17:11Speaker 2: got an Australian one, and I didn't think too much
- 17:15Speaker 2: of it when I went to do it, Like I didn't.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I think I've always known I could have two, I
- 17:20Speaker 2: could have a Canadian and an Australian. But you always
- 17:23Speaker 2: just Australia has always just been allowed to go to Canada,
- 17:26Speaker 2: like if you honestly so. But now Australians need a
- 17:32Speaker 2: travel visa. So if you want to go to Canada,
- 17:33Speaker 2: it's easy, but you just apply, like I don't know,
- 17:36Speaker 2: a month prior. You just apply for a short travel
- 17:38Speaker 2: visa or whatever. Yeah, it's like it's exactly like. But
- 17:41Speaker 2: and so for me to do that, because I come
- 17:46Speaker 2: up in the system as a citizen of Canada, I
- 17:48Speaker 2: can't get a visa. Oh and I don't have my
- 17:51Speaker 2: Canadian passport, so I have to go through this rigamarole
- 17:54Speaker 2: on the Canadian Immigration's website just getting a pass right.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And because I'm a citizen, obviously it gets passed every time.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And the last three times I've gone to Canada, I've
- 18:05Speaker 2: done that right when I should have just got my Canadian.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Passport because you're probably like two weeks before you go
- 18:11Speaker 1: to go. Yeah, that's me.
- 18:13Speaker 2: That's literally me. And so every time I go to
- 18:15Speaker 2: Canada and I'm going to just get your Canadian passport a visa,
- 18:17Speaker 2: and I go, yeah, yeah, I'm going to Canada in July.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You've left it too late.
- 18:21Speaker 2: And so I'm going. And I was like, all right,
- 18:24Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it. I'm proud of myself. I'm gonna
- 18:26Speaker 2: go through the f of getting my Canadian pasport. Let's
- 18:28Speaker 2: go cool. I don't have to worry about this fucking
- 18:30Speaker 2: shit anymore. So I go and and I look up
- 18:34Speaker 2: and it's a little bit of a funny situation being
- 18:36Speaker 2: like a Canadian citizen living in Australia with an Australian
- 18:39Speaker 2: passport but not a Canadian passport, And so I go
- 18:42Speaker 2: through and chatchuputis helped me out, best friend. Yeah, And
- 18:46Speaker 2: so it ends up saying to me, have you had
- 18:48Speaker 2: a Canadian passport in the past, And I said I have.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I have it from when I was a kid, and
- 18:56Speaker 2: I'm like, awesome, awesome, awesome, And so what that does
- 18:59Speaker 2: for me is makes the application process so much easier. Now,
- 19:06Speaker 2: it makes it easier if the Canadian passport is within
- 19:10Speaker 2: fifteen years of expiring fifteen full years. Oddie, guess when
- 19:17Speaker 2: mine expired sixteen It expired sixteen years ago. So I
- 19:26Speaker 2: have to do it as if I've never had a
- 19:28Speaker 2: Canadian passport for fifteen years.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You waited sixteen Oh.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's like if I just did it last year, I
- 19:37Speaker 2: would have been fine.
- 19:38Speaker 1: But that's like overall, just you as a whole.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Guys, like I
- 19:43Speaker 2: do this with a lot of things, sixteen Like I
- 19:45Speaker 2: will put things off until the literal last minute, and
- 19:49Speaker 2: I put this one.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Off for more than so now you put it off.
- 19:53Speaker 2: So now what I have to do is what I
- 19:56Speaker 2: have to do is do an application for a brand
- 19:58Speaker 2: new adult passport living a. I have to have all
- 20:02Speaker 2: of these things. I have to do proof of Canadian citizenship,
- 20:04Speaker 2: which is easy because I do have a passport from
- 20:06Speaker 2: the past which I can send them, and then I
- 20:07Speaker 2: have proof of citisenship. I have a citistance all that stuff.
- 20:11Speaker 2: But what else I need is I need two references.
- 20:16Speaker 2: So that's two people that I've known. They don't have
- 20:18Speaker 2: to be Canadian, but two people I've known for two years.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Can they be family?
- 20:23Speaker 2: No, so it could be you and Cassie, it could
- 20:25Speaker 2: be your parents, anyone like that. And they need to
- 20:28Speaker 2: have a passport that's in date and stuff, so they
- 20:30Speaker 2: would be my references. But what else it means is
- 20:32Speaker 2: I have to get a guarant tour. The garrant tor
- 20:34Speaker 2: has to have known me for two years, can't be
- 20:36Speaker 2: immediate family, has to have a Canadian passport and has
- 20:39Speaker 2: to live near me. Do you know anyone honestly? Luckily, Yeah, Okay,
- 20:45Speaker 2: my dad's cousin. And I was like, but he's technically
- 20:49Speaker 2: my cousin.
- 20:49Speaker 1: True second cousin.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I looked into it, I'm allowed to use him. So
- 20:53Speaker 2: he lives in Manly. Yeah, so that's a forty minute
- 20:55Speaker 2: drive from me. Better go do that before I moved
- 20:57Speaker 2: to Queensland.
- 20:58Speaker 1: See if he's contacted this random dude. I assume you
- 21:00Speaker 1: never talked to him.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Oh no, I know him my whole life. He's a
- 21:03Speaker 2: very nice guy. I haven't a message him yet. I'm
- 21:06Speaker 2: being honest with you. Better do that too.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Much in one day.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And but basically, so now I have to go through
- 21:13Speaker 2: all this effort of getting like guarantee and all that
- 21:15Speaker 2: stuff blah blah blah blah blah, when I could have
- 21:17Speaker 2: just done it last year. Not a journey bullshit. But
- 21:19Speaker 2: so yeah, it looks like I'm doing a bit more admint.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I was thinking, when you're telling that story, god forbid
- 21:26Speaker 1: this ever happens. Touchwood. Yeah, but if you got divorced,
- 21:29Speaker 1: you'd be the type of person and be like, like
- 21:31Speaker 1: you'd be divorced for ten years, be like brashly still
- 21:33Speaker 1: married technically, but between us we are together.
- 21:45Speaker 2: According to the government, we are together.
- 21:47Speaker 1: That is, I haven't got around as signing the paper.
- 21:50Speaker 2: That is so so true. I also would be the
- 21:53Speaker 2: type like I don't think Beth would ever do this,
- 21:56Speaker 2: but I think I would be so easy to take advantage.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Of it a divorce, just like eighty two.
- 22:01Speaker 2: All she has to do is say, I'll do every
- 22:02Speaker 2: answer paperwork, and I'll be like, I'll sign it. She's like,
- 22:06Speaker 2: you want to get a load to look at it. Someone.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I'm proud of us.
- 22:10Speaker 2: We've had some contracts in our recent business activities and we've.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Got a lawyer to look at them. Yeah, for the
- 22:16Speaker 1: first time in three years.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Expensive.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I paid the bill when I was
- 22:21Speaker 1: like fuck, Like, I know they got to like UNI
- 22:23Speaker 1: for like nine years and shit or whatever is it
- 22:25Speaker 1: nine years? But we were doing the same work they
- 22:29Speaker 1: were with chat GPT.
- 22:31Speaker 2: You know what's funny is so they would send the
- 22:35Speaker 2: contract back with all these comments and stuff, and I
- 22:38Speaker 2: still had to put it into chatchyput and be like
- 22:41Speaker 2: can you Every comment they made just didn't make sense
- 22:43Speaker 2: to me. So I still had to go into chattopute
- 22:45Speaker 2: and be like, is there any red flags in this thing?
- 22:48Speaker 2: And the funny thing is the only things that I
- 22:51Speaker 2: brought up were the things chat GPT boy.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because the language is not just in Lemon's terms, No,
- 23:00Speaker 1: We'll read in a contract and it says like we'd
- 23:01Speaker 1: have to copy and paste the paragraph and be like,
- 23:03Speaker 1: what does this mean?
- 23:06Speaker 2: Like Article fifteen, subsection D. I'd copy and paste that
- 23:10Speaker 2: pair of oph and but what does this mean? And
- 23:11Speaker 2: it'd be like, Oh, this means you're actually signing over
- 23:13Speaker 2: every moral right you have to your life, and you
- 23:15Speaker 2: should probably tell them not to do that. And I
- 23:16Speaker 2: was like, yeah, I'm going to fucking go back on.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I don't understand that industry. It's like they've made up
- 23:21Speaker 1: this language that no one else can understand, and then
- 23:24Speaker 1: only lawyers can actually understand it because they went to
- 23:26Speaker 1: school for nine years and it takes nine years to
- 23:27Speaker 1: learn a new language.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Whatever happened to like some just on old handshake honesty.
- 23:33Speaker 2: How about you don't f me over and I won't
- 23:35Speaker 2: f you over, and we'll just it's people look each
- 23:38Speaker 2: other in the eyes and shake a hand.
- 23:40Speaker 1: People are greedy, man, and every single way possible, at
- 23:43Speaker 1: any single turn, someone will try and fuck you over.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I don't know any bodies that have gone through some
- 23:48Speaker 2: like contract negotiations. I've always like, whenever you get a
- 23:51Speaker 2: job as like a casual worker or even a full
- 23:53Speaker 2: time worker. I've never read the contract. I was just
- 23:56Speaker 2: signed it because it's just like obviously super normal. And
- 24:00Speaker 2: the thing you look at mainly is like if I
- 24:02Speaker 2: want to leave, can I leave? You know how much
- 24:03Speaker 2: notice I have to give? But we we went back
- 24:07Speaker 2: on a lot of things in this contract, and a
- 24:10Speaker 2: lot of the answers from this company were like, this is.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Just how it is industry standards, and.
- 24:17Speaker 2: We were like change it, Like okay, change it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah, like you have a right to stand on because
- 24:24Speaker 1: it's the same with gyms and stuff. You look at
- 24:26Speaker 1: it and then there's like a two months.
- 24:28Speaker 2: The thing about gyms that I hate is when you cancel,
- 24:33Speaker 2: they're like, got to pay for one more month?
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they get lave.
- 24:37Speaker 2: What do I do?
- 24:37Speaker 1: And giving you notice to leave, You're like, what do you?
- 24:39Speaker 1: Because we signed the contract at the start. But so
- 24:42Speaker 1: I feel like, see greedy, it's like, we'll get one
- 24:44Speaker 1: more month out exactly what you know why it's industry standards.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Oh my days.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I'm thinking if we have a height this twice now
- 24:56Speaker 2: third time.
- 24:57Speaker 1: We've got we've got new chance, guys. That's that's my
- 25:01Speaker 1: fucking habit to put it right there.
- 25:04Speaker 2: The habit with the old chairs when you can put
- 25:06Speaker 2: it down here? Yeah, setting, can I just mention three
- 25:12Speaker 2: weeks in a row now I have woron no socks
- 25:13Speaker 2: and I still haven't brought me. I feel naked being
- 25:15Speaker 2: barefoot in this studio.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Yeah, your raw dog and I got toenails on me
- 25:19Speaker 1: at the why'd you bring that to light? Now? I'm
- 25:23Speaker 1: just gonna look at them and think about them the
- 25:24Speaker 1: whole time. Yeah, oh, you're talking about toenails, bro.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I saw a video on fucking TikTok of someone putting
- 25:34Speaker 2: their toe out, long ass toenail, probably like as long
- 25:36Speaker 2: as mine right now, theyre pretty long. They had this
- 25:38Speaker 2: border Collie comes over, nibbles their tone out disgusting, disgusting
- 25:46Speaker 2: to be wat convenience wise. If your dog could do that,
- 25:48Speaker 2: would you let them?
- 25:49Speaker 1: No? Fuck? No fuck, no, no way would you? That
- 25:53Speaker 1: little darky nibble and you little toe. It's like those
- 25:55Speaker 1: fishes in balley.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I actually food. I'm going to say, I'm crazy you
- 26:00Speaker 2: could do it. I probably.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I've actually got a funny story about feet. I reckon
- 26:05Speaker 1: it's relatable for the baddies. Actually, all the baddies you
- 26:07Speaker 1: get pedicures. My girlfriend told me this other day and
- 26:09Speaker 1: I thought it was funny. So my girlfriend's a long
- 26:11Speaker 1: distance runner and like any girl who does a lot
- 26:14Speaker 1: of activity like running, sports, soccer, footy, hockey, whatever. Anyhow,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I'm sure you get callouses on your feet. And she robs.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yeah, she rocks up to get pedicures from people who
- 26:24Speaker 2: aren't like native to speaking English, and apparently they like.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Judged the funk out of her feet. I think she's
- 26:29Speaker 1: got something wrong with him. And she's like, no, I promise,
- 26:31Speaker 1: I'm just a runner and they're like chat.
- 26:33Speaker 2: She's like, please fix them.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Please.
- 26:36Speaker 2: She needs to get like those earbuds that translate any language. Yeah,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and just to hear what the gossip is about it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Like imagine she's just chilling there and this one lady
- 26:46Speaker 2: is just like saying to her friends because they.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Always talk, yeah, and you don't know what they're saying, and.
- 26:49Speaker 2: You have no idea what they're saying, and they're just
- 26:52Speaker 2: probably going this bitches feet, could you imagine?
- 27:01Speaker 1: How insecure? Imagine? But I reckon they don't talk shit
- 27:05Speaker 1: because like you never know when someone else can speak,
- 27:07Speaker 1: they talk ship.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I reckon know salons, dude, there is no way they
- 27:12Speaker 2: don't talk.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Look at yeah, like if they if.
- 27:17Speaker 2: They have someone with maybe like I don't know, some
- 27:20Speaker 2: fat fingers, like they probably have like I got some
- 27:23Speaker 2: chubby ones over here or something like that. I reckon
- 27:25Speaker 2: they talk some ship.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Oh we should thinking about that. So lawyers have their
- 27:30Speaker 1: own language obviously, other countries have their own language that
- 27:33Speaker 1: we can't understand.
- 27:34Speaker 2: You and I should you Sponge, lawyers have their own
- 27:37Speaker 2: language and other countries have their own language into.
- 27:39Speaker 1: One because round circle, we should learn some heaps niche language,
- 27:45Speaker 1: like it's really really niche that so we can talk
- 27:47Speaker 1: shit in public about people.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Well, if duo Lingo wants to sponsor us, like it's
- 27:51Speaker 2: it's like a.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Mad niche cool language, like like i'd cop Spanish, it's
- 27:56Speaker 1: not niche.
- 27:56Speaker 2: But do you know that speak Spanish here Mandarin? Nah, dude,
- 28:00Speaker 2: that would be really difficult. It'd be cool, But that
- 28:02Speaker 2: would be cool because Spanish would be cool because if
- 28:04Speaker 2: you go to Europe, a lot of countries speak Spanish.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I think, I don't know what did I just make
- 28:08Speaker 2: that up? I feel like only one country speaks Spanish
- 28:10Speaker 2: in Europe, and that's Spain. Yeah, well, anywhere else speaks
- 28:14Speaker 2: Spanish in Europe? Where this could be really dumb.
- 28:16Speaker 1: But Portuguese that's its own language, is it? They speak Spanish?
- 28:22Speaker 2: You know what you're wigging out about is that in
- 28:23Speaker 2: Brazil they speak Portuguese. That's it, that's it, speak Portuguese.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Ye, that's connection.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Right. They speak Spanish in Mexico, don't they. They don't
- 28:30Speaker 2: speak Mexicano. Now there's no Mexican.
- 28:31Speaker 1: See we should What about if we learned like Australian
- 28:34Speaker 1: Australian we're speaking, We can't.
- 28:38Speaker 2: You guys actually would not want us to go full
- 28:40Speaker 2: blown Aussie like that would It would not be good.
- 28:43Speaker 1: To listen, We're quite proper. And sometimes you and I
- 28:45Speaker 1: get in the mood where like one of us will
- 28:47Speaker 1: start saying the word a lot and then the other
- 28:48Speaker 1: one's like, oh, we can, we can relax a little bit.
- 28:50Speaker 2: The thing about where we're from and where we grew
- 28:52Speaker 2: up is it's considered a bogan Australian accent.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Yeah we even said that bogan.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah. The thing people probably don't even know what Bogans are.
- 29:02Speaker 2: So no, it's like redneck, I feel like. So in Australia,
- 29:09Speaker 2: it's like the fifth biggest country in the world. But
- 29:11Speaker 2: you could get someone from Perth here and they would
- 29:14Speaker 2: sound like you. There would be you know, someone not
- 29:17Speaker 2: from Autralia would not be able to tell the difference between
- 29:19Speaker 2: our accent. Oh no, whereas in England you can drive
- 29:23Speaker 2: now that's I don't believe that thirty kilometers. But that's
- 29:25Speaker 2: a conspiracy. And you're like, I have an English room mate,
- 29:29Speaker 2: yeah she said, she said, literally a Liverpool accent mate.
- 29:34Speaker 2: You can drive apparently twenty minutes.
- 29:37Speaker 1: No, I don't believe completely the different.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Accent the UK is Wales, England, Scotland and then Northern Ireland.
- 29:47Speaker 2: There's just there's a fake line between Scotland and England.
- 29:51Speaker 2: You cannot understand Scottish people.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah, like they have the thickest accent and they talk
- 29:56Speaker 1: supecific quick same. Yeah, she's crazy.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I don't get it. I just don't know how it's
- 30:02Speaker 2: even possible to have like a different Is it called
- 30:05Speaker 2: like cooquialisms or something?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Maybe it's a good word, but what's it called when
- 30:09Speaker 1: you're I couldn't say that colloquially poqu realism?
- 30:12Speaker 2: Yeah, the week and you can spell that, no way.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Ask me to. But that is if you get a
- 30:20Speaker 1: thousand comments, we'll learn Spanish.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Dude, someone if do it Lingo wants to sponsor us,
- 30:26Speaker 2: I'll learn Spanish and talk about it on the episodes.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Anything for money.
- 30:30Speaker 2: That's what I was going to say before is I've
- 30:32Speaker 2: come to realize that, like, I'm not going to do
- 30:35Speaker 2: stuff unless I'm paid or unless it's costing me money.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I got insurance because it's costing me money.
- 30:40Speaker 1: It did something to get you off your ass.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I started reading because we did it for the part
- 30:44Speaker 2: and now technically we get paid to read. Yeah, and
- 30:47Speaker 2: then I did just like I do really like it.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Do you just sit at home and you're like, hmm,
- 30:52Speaker 2: what am I getting paid for?
- 30:53Speaker 1: Or what do I have to pay? Your two decisions?
- 30:56Speaker 1: And you're like, I've got to pay for groceries or
- 30:59Speaker 1: I can get paid to read. Which one do I
- 31:02Speaker 1: want to do?
- 31:03Speaker 2: That's a good question.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I pay for the gym, I might as well go,
- 31:06Speaker 1: or do I want to read?
- 31:11Speaker 2: So basically I won't learn any language unless I am
- 31:15Speaker 2: paid to do it.
- 31:16Speaker 1: It's quite it's a lot of work. Probably it's years
- 31:20Speaker 1: of work.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Think about how sexy it would be.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Well, that could be our call sign. We say something
- 31:26Speaker 1: in different language, and I don't know what we say.
- 31:28Speaker 2: We could say like that is home. We just do
- 31:29Speaker 2: a Spanish segment.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we could go to Spain and do shows. Yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 1: well no we didn't. What was the what was the
- 31:37Speaker 1: little cartoon that was Spanish Diego? And what was this
- 31:42Speaker 1: was the song that she used to sing.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Dora, Door Door, that's the theme song.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Some Spanish in it.
- 31:48Speaker 2: You know what's crazy? Dora taught me how to count
- 31:51Speaker 2: to like six or seven in Spanish. You know, isn't
- 31:54Speaker 2: it's it's quite your sink.
- 32:01Speaker 1: That's your cour sign right there.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It's not far off from apparently if you know Spanish,
- 32:07Speaker 2: you like, I can learn Italian.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Yeah. They all kind of like open French, whereas like
- 32:11Speaker 1: English is just his own thing and doesn't have any
- 32:13Speaker 1: overlapping nature.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Crazy thing to say, Oh no, actually I was gonna say.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I won't say what I was gonna say, but what
- 32:19Speaker 2: we could learn that would be caused German?
- 32:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think of one German word, not going to
- 32:25Speaker 1: think of it. No, I got it, snitzle.
- 32:35Speaker 3: I mean.
- 32:37Speaker 2: It's like asking in Italian. It's like like saying to
- 32:39Speaker 2: someone that can speak Italian, what what can you say?
- 32:42Speaker 2: In Italian? They say pizza?
- 32:44Speaker 1: But wouldn'tizza in Italian be its own word.
- 32:46Speaker 2: I think pizza is the Italian word for pizza.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Oh is it?
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah? Sh Actually, And like all the words that like
- 32:55Speaker 2: Italian restaurants for passes, like casarice, I'm pretty sure that's
- 32:59Speaker 2: like Italian or its fetter chini French. I don't know.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Actually it makes so much sense because like I struggled
- 33:03Speaker 1: to read them. It makes me feel bad too, because
- 33:05Speaker 1: it's a different language.
- 33:08Speaker 2: You'd be we'd be saying them wrong.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I just point.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I get that one with chicken and noodles.
- 33:18Speaker 1: But what I wanted to talk about next was I
- 33:21Speaker 1: just went on a little bit of a trip.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, how was it?
- 33:23Speaker 1: It was actually really really good, and I wanted to
- 33:25Speaker 1: talk about it in a sense of we talk a lot.
- 33:27Speaker 2: About relationships on this podcast. No, yeah, we do quite
- 33:33Speaker 2: a lot. I went camping up.
- 33:35Speaker 1: The East coast of Australia, drove about three and a
- 33:37Speaker 1: half hours up to a place called Diamond Head, which
- 33:40Speaker 1: was very very beautiful, great spot. I can't believe we
- 33:43Speaker 1: didn't go there when we went on our trip pay
- 33:45Speaker 1: I don't know, we just didn't know about it.
- 33:46Speaker 2: We just we punched it to Crescent Head.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, oh that's probably why, to be fair, but
- 33:52Speaker 1: I wanted to bring up in a sense of relationships. Finally,
- 33:56Speaker 1: I'm not putting you on the spot. What did you
- 33:57Speaker 1: say when I said, do you like camping anymore?
- 34:01Speaker 2: I don't like it very much anymore because I like hotels.
- 34:05Speaker 1: There you go, five star resorts. Exist is what you
- 34:08Speaker 1: said to me, Yes, which I thought was very very valid.
- 34:12Speaker 1: But in a sense of relationships with your partner, I
- 34:15Speaker 1: thought it is a very good way to bond. So
- 34:19Speaker 1: we went away for three nights and like something about
- 34:22Speaker 1: nature and maybe it's me, let me know if it's
- 34:25Speaker 1: you as well. It's like no distraction. Then you've got
- 34:28Speaker 1: all the time in the world and it kind of
- 34:30Speaker 1: just like strips you back to nature and you and
- 34:32Speaker 1: your partner just get to be one together and you
- 34:36Speaker 1: just really slow down. I thought it was such a
- 34:39Speaker 1: good me and Cass. You've been down for two years
- 34:40Speaker 1: and I'm happy with it. It's a great relationship. But
- 34:43Speaker 1: it kind of confirmed how much we love each other
- 34:45Speaker 1: in a sense because we stripped all the bullshit away
- 34:48Speaker 1: of society, all the shit we talk about on the
- 34:49Speaker 1: podcast that annoys us, that is a real problem, but
- 34:52Speaker 1: then also we kind of make it our problem and
- 34:54Speaker 1: their distractions, and then you just go away and it's
- 34:56Speaker 1: kind of a little bit of escapism, which you don't
- 34:58Speaker 1: get with five star results because you still have to
- 35:00Speaker 1: go through all these people or just getting into checking
- 35:02Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah.
- 35:04Speaker 2: You don't agree. I don't know, man, I feel like
- 35:06Speaker 2: I could do some pretty good bonding with Beth in
- 35:08Speaker 2: a private hotel room.
- 35:12Speaker 1: No, it was good because it just kind of like
- 35:14Speaker 1: I was thinking about it when I was there doing
- 35:16Speaker 1: absolutely fuck all this at my campsite, looking at the grass,
- 35:20Speaker 1: and like, our problems are very, very real, but also
- 35:24Speaker 1: they're not, if that makes sense. Yeah, and we make
- 35:28Speaker 1: him ount problems and I don't want to take away
- 35:30Speaker 1: from them. But also like there's something about life you
- 35:33Speaker 1: can make it so simple if you really really want
- 35:35Speaker 1: it to, and something about camping forces you to make
- 35:38Speaker 1: your life simple and then the real beauties of human
- 35:41Speaker 1: connection come out and that with your partner. And I
- 35:44Speaker 1: think we experienced that as friends, which is probably the
- 35:46Speaker 1: foundations of this podcast is we didn't realize it at
- 35:49Speaker 1: the time, but we stripped away all the bullshit and
- 35:51Speaker 1: then we just had three months up the East Coast
- 35:53Speaker 1: of Australia and really formed a good friendship because none
- 35:56Speaker 1: of that bullshit was there. So I was just gonna
- 35:58Speaker 1: say for any bad he's out, they're wanting to have
- 36:01Speaker 1: a bit of bonding with their boyfriend. Even if you're
- 36:03Speaker 1: not a big camper, Just buy some shit kings gear,
- 36:05Speaker 1: go away for a weekend.
- 36:06Speaker 2: If you guys are struggling and strip it back. If
- 36:09Speaker 2: the relationship seems to be struggling, it's all.
- 36:11Speaker 1: It's not sexy, like a five star resort is sexy,
- 36:14Speaker 1: and you kind of get to experience the person for
- 36:16Speaker 1: who they actually are.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It's clean. Yeah, it's sexy, it smells good.
- 36:20Speaker 1: It's not real.
- 36:21Speaker 2: It's comfortable.
- 36:22Speaker 1: It's not it's not who you are.
- 36:24Speaker 2: It's very real because I'm living it. If I'm there,
- 36:26Speaker 2: I'm living it, and I think it.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Is very real. It's not real. It is.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Why isn't it real? It exists.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It's not real, but like the real you is, just
- 36:35Speaker 1: like you. Do you feel what I'm saying or not?
- 36:39Speaker 2: I mean yes and no. Yeah, I can be the
- 36:41Speaker 2: real me wherever I want to be me. Yeah, I
- 36:43Speaker 2: mean I hope I'm the real me. When I'm with
- 36:45Speaker 2: Beth at home.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Yeah. But also the you who went away camping is
- 36:49Speaker 1: different to the you who's in a five star resort
- 36:51Speaker 1: being on boogie and shit.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Why I'm just cleaner.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I feel you're like I stripped everything back, Yeah, and
- 36:58Speaker 1: you just like you're actually just the bare bone of
- 37:00Speaker 1: who Jake is, whereas that is you have all these
- 37:02Speaker 1: protections so you can be like the best version of yourself,
- 37:04Speaker 1: whereas that is just who you are.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I'm not sure I'm picking up what you're putting down.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I reckon, like.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Just take away the bullshit of life, but what's the
- 37:15Speaker 2: bullshit of life?
- 37:16Speaker 1: The distractions? Everything?
- 37:17Speaker 2: I mean, you could be at home and you could
- 37:19Speaker 2: turn your phone off. You could, you know what I mean,
- 37:21Speaker 2: You're going to a five stories, but you can't. It
- 37:23Speaker 2: kind of forces you to do that.
- 37:24Speaker 1: We talk about We've had three weeks or four weeks
- 37:27Speaker 1: of talking about trying to get off our phone. It's harder,
- 37:29Speaker 1: easier said than done. True.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Well, I mean, so you're saying having no reception that
- 37:34Speaker 2: forces you to do it?
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much, and like it's just it kind of
- 37:37Speaker 1: it made me think of like what olden day relationships
- 37:40Speaker 1: used to be. Like with like no TV, no social media,
- 37:42Speaker 1: no comparison, nothing, It's just you and that person in
- 37:46Speaker 1: front of you, and that's it and it's beautiful.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I think the thing that I actually would like, I
- 37:51Speaker 2: think the thing I would like is so number one
- 37:57Speaker 2: is social media. You spoke about it on maybe a
- 38:03Speaker 2: Patreon episode that just go one or something and you
- 38:06Speaker 2: or maybe a Dylem's episode. I think it was a
- 38:07Speaker 2: Dylema's episode and someone's boyfriend said they wouldn't unfollow their
- 38:13Speaker 2: ex girlfriend. And so I think that like if you
- 38:18Speaker 2: did strip away the bullshit of phones and like, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 2: all that, taking away the fact that when you break
- 38:27Speaker 2: up with someone, you actually break up with them and
- 38:28Speaker 2: forget about them would be way more healthy than what
- 38:33Speaker 2: happens now these days.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Maybe the way to say it, and I'm beating around
- 38:37Speaker 1: the bush is it kind of puts your life into
- 38:39Speaker 1: perspective a little bit. It makes you reflect.
- 38:41Speaker 2: On what actually is important and like, like we talk
- 38:44Speaker 2: about breakups and how hard it is, like you said,
- 38:46Speaker 2: to get over someone because you see them all the time,
- 38:48Speaker 2: you see him out all that is a choice at
- 38:50Speaker 2: the end of the day, and it makes you realize
- 38:52Speaker 2: that that's a.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Choice, and they're very real problems.
- 38:55Speaker 2: But also it's a choice. I guess you're right, it is.
- 38:58Speaker 2: It does come down to it's a choice, isn't it. Yeah?
- 39:00Speaker 2: But it's like if the power goes out at your house,
- 39:05Speaker 2: you're like, what do we do? What do we?
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah? What do we do? I think they're definitely being
- 39:12Speaker 1: open and honest. There's definitely a point of time where
- 39:14Speaker 1: you're like, this is boring, but also you just embrace it. Ah.
- 39:17Speaker 1: But anyway, the takeaway was get out there, get camping,
- 39:20Speaker 1: get get your insurance, don't crash your car.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I just recommend crushing it. I got Darcy's pet insurance.
- 39:30Speaker 2: So now she's covered too.
- 39:31Speaker 1: How much is that?
- 39:32Speaker 2: It's seventy dollars a month, that's all right, shout out to.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Won't name the company because they ain't paying enough, but
- 39:42Speaker 2: seventy bucks a month and she's covered for So she's
- 39:45Speaker 2: covered eighty percent all right, up to thirty thousand dollars
- 39:50Speaker 2: per year.
- 39:51Speaker 1: So if you lose twenty percent of it, you can't
- 39:52Speaker 1: claim it.
- 39:53Speaker 2: No no, no, no no no. So like she's covered for everything imaginable,
- 39:58Speaker 2: and it's each individual thing. It's thirty four dollars per
- 40:00Speaker 2: year for that thing, and it's eighty percent cover. So
- 40:04Speaker 2: I like, if it's a ten thousand dollars thing, I
- 40:05Speaker 2: pay two grand, you can get one hundred cent cover.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Takes up to one fifty a month. Really that's a
- 40:11Speaker 2: fair because I read, Yeah, Henry Henry one hundred cent cover,
- 40:14Speaker 2: seventy bucks a month dash out compared to what's Henry's
- 40:18Speaker 2: Henry's an olden retriever. He's a mott. Basically, he's a
- 40:22Speaker 2: gold Retriever mixed with the cavalier.
- 40:28Speaker 1: That is up next to his ig. Question of the week,
- 40:40Speaker 1: And if you're mule around here, you will know that
- 40:44Speaker 1: one of our taglines for the podcast is putting him
- 40:48Speaker 1: on the spot. Don't ship where you eat.
- 40:50Speaker 2: No.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Oh, it is one though, but that's your main one.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Girls and guys can't be best friend, yeah, yea, yeah
- 40:57Speaker 1: yeah yeah, and me when.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I finish having sex. Just to.
- 41:05Speaker 1: So, we put up a question, tell us what your
- 41:08Speaker 1: guy best friend has said, and we will tell you
- 41:10Speaker 1: what it actually means. All right, let me go first.
- 41:14Speaker 1: We're going to call this guy best friend language you
- 41:18Speaker 1: deserve way better than the guy you're dating right now.
- 41:23Speaker 2: What does that mean Jake, I think I think you
- 41:27Speaker 2: know what I think it means. What it means.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I think it means what he's what was said, no wrong,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I reckon it means you should be datting me? Really?
- 41:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think that one means, like, you know,
- 41:36Speaker 2: I actually think he's looking out for it. You reckon?
- 41:39Speaker 1: Okay, Men always an ulterior motive. You deserve way better
- 41:43Speaker 1: than the guy you're dating right now. I feel like
- 41:46Speaker 1: I'm giving benefit of the doubt. But if you're if
- 41:48Speaker 1: you're dating someone and I'm a friend, you kind of
- 41:51Speaker 1: just like and you're blissfully in a relationship, would you
- 41:54Speaker 1: want your friend to tell you that.
- 41:55Speaker 2: I would assume that this person's complaining about their boyfriend.
- 42:00Speaker 1: You've put in two and two together, which we don't have.
- 42:02Speaker 2: What do you mean, I'm not just gonna have randomly
- 42:05Speaker 2: come out. If this guy's just randomly come out and
- 42:08Speaker 2: said this guy sucks, I took it, then yeah he
- 42:13Speaker 2: wants to be with her.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:15Speaker 2: I was thinking that she's being like, oh, he did this,
- 42:17Speaker 2: he did this, he did this.
- 42:19Speaker 1: If you had a girl best friend, you're in your
- 42:21Speaker 1: relationship very happy, and then your girl best friend's like Jake,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I think you can do way better.
- 42:26Speaker 2: How do you know?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't know my girlfriend. Yeah, that's exactly what
- 42:30Speaker 1: it should be. But he's like, I'm better, I'm better.
- 42:34Speaker 1: You're you're too blissful, blissful, you think you're the best
- 42:37Speaker 1: of men.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Tell us what your guy best friend said, will tell
- 42:40Speaker 2: you what he meant. If we didn't live so far apart,
- 42:44Speaker 2: I reckon we would be together.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Oh, what does that actually mean? Means that one's tough.
- 42:51Speaker 1: That means I want to be with you, but I
- 42:53Speaker 1: kin'd admit my feelings to you.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I think it does mean he wants to be with her.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I do think we didn't live so far how far,
- 43:00Speaker 2: like half an hour, we didn't live so far apart,
- 43:03Speaker 2: I think we would be together. I think that, you.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Know what, I feel like he's admitting that.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I think that he's saying he likes her, but he's
- 43:14Speaker 2: wanting to keep it, like there's a there's a reason
- 43:18Speaker 2: he he doesn't want to ruin the friendship. Yeah, but
- 43:22Speaker 2: he's admitting feelings.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that he does like it.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say he's admitting feelings.
- 43:27Speaker 1: This one's tough. Tell us what your guy best friend
- 43:31Speaker 1: has said, and will tell you what it means he
- 43:33Speaker 1: is sixty six, so I'm safe, right, No way there
- 43:36Speaker 1: could be feelings.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Your best friend is a sixty six year old man.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I all.
- 43:44Speaker 2: I don't have much to say to this, apart from
- 43:46Speaker 2: the fact that I think that you should probably call
- 43:51Speaker 2: the police on this guy.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I would say that my dad's sixty six or
- 43:56Speaker 1: sixty seven. And if he had a girl best friend
- 43:58Speaker 1: who was like twenty six, hooked the fuck. Also, he's
- 44:01Speaker 1: like weird and old, Like, what could you relate to.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Him about it? If my dad had a friend and
- 44:08Speaker 2: it was a twenty five year old woman, I would say, Dad,
- 44:13Speaker 2: you're not my dad, I would say. I'd say, I'd
- 44:15Speaker 2: say Dad, Actually, sorry, Brett. Should I call you by
- 44:20Speaker 2: your legal name, government name?
- 44:22Speaker 1: That's all you are.
- 44:23Speaker 2: You are no longer anything apart from the vessel that
- 44:26Speaker 2: I came into this life for the vessel.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Actually, my mum was the vessel.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you were, you were, you were, you were barely
- 44:33Speaker 2: the fertilizer of the sea that brought me into this world.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Tell us what your guy best friend said. We'll tell
- 44:41Speaker 2: you what he meant. This is an action. He left
- 44:45Speaker 2: a toothbrush at my place.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Guy friend ly toothbrush at Why was his toothbrush at
- 44:53Speaker 1: your place in the first place? You having a sleepover.
- 44:56Speaker 1: If you're having a sleepover your.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Guy best friend, something else going on there isn't there.
- 45:02Speaker 2: But in a relationship, like I sometimes just forgot my
- 45:05Speaker 2: toothbrush and it meant nothing. Could you do it if
- 45:08Speaker 2: you were just dating? Yeah?
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but if their guy best friends doesn't mean nothing.
- 45:12Speaker 2: If it's our best friend and truly nothing more, it
- 45:15Speaker 2: could just mean nothing. He just forgot to always.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Keep planning to see to make her think about him.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Also, he's trying to impress you. Men that are just
- 45:22Speaker 2: your friend. Ain't bringing a toothbrush to someone's house?
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yeah? Oh yeah, let's think this your guy best friend.
- 45:29Speaker 1: He wouldn't bring shit.
- 45:33Speaker 2: He's done this because he's trying to impress you and
- 45:35Speaker 2: be like.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I'm clean, I'm clean.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Next one, I could book us a little getaway if
- 45:40Speaker 1: you're keen.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Ummm yeah, that sounds romantic.
- 45:47Speaker 1: That sounds really romantic. That sounds very romantic to me.
- 45:50Speaker 1: But it's that if you're keen.
- 45:53Speaker 2: I could book us to get away. If you're keen.
- 45:55Speaker 1: It's kind of like to cover his ass and in
- 45:57Speaker 1: case she says, No, I'm not.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I feel sounding very romantic. Little get away a two
- 46:04Speaker 2: persons getaway is far too romantic.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Yeah, don't call it get away. Call it like.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Also, you don't call it a getaway like we're getting
- 46:10Speaker 2: away together.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Yeah, call it like let's go hang No, hangout sounds
- 46:14Speaker 1: bad to what else could you call it?
- 46:16Speaker 2: I just I feel like, let's go have sex. Yeah,
- 46:19Speaker 2: that's what he's say.
- 46:19Speaker 1: That's what it means. Let's go have sex if you can.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree with that. Okay, tell us what
- 46:25Speaker 2: your guy best friend said. Will tell you what he
- 46:27Speaker 2: meant he said if he wanted to, he would, and
- 46:31Speaker 2: if he hurts you, I'm not saying I'll fight him,
- 46:33Speaker 2: but i'll fight him. I'm kind of gotta I gotta
- 46:37Speaker 2: say something.
- 46:38Speaker 1: I kind of like this a protective guy best friend.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I do like that too.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I kind of like the little if you wanted to
- 46:44Speaker 2: would thing.
- 46:45Speaker 1: I feel that that's been Is that being a supportive friend?
- 46:48Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 46:49Speaker 1: I feel like that. There's nothing to read into on
- 46:51Speaker 1: that one.
- 46:51Speaker 2: He's like, I don't know the thing about offering up protection,
- 46:56Speaker 2: you think that that's like to be fair? I mean,
- 46:59Speaker 2: if a woman best friend said that, you would be like, yes,
- 47:03Speaker 2: you're just offering up a bit of protection that.
- 47:05Speaker 1: She needs protected. I feel like it's nice to have.
- 47:08Speaker 1: It's an individual preference.
- 47:09Speaker 2: It could be harmless.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Tell us what your guy best friend said, and we
- 47:11Speaker 1: will tell you what it means. I would never want
- 47:14Speaker 1: to disrespect you and insert my boyfriend's name.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Wait, I would never want to disrespect for you.
- 47:21Speaker 1: And like, so I think it's like, oh, I want
- 47:24Speaker 1: to disrespect you like Jake did.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, wait oh I would never want to disrespect
- 47:32Speaker 2: you like your boyfriend did to you type thing. Yeah,
- 47:36Speaker 2: oh my god, yeah he loves you. I think he
- 47:39Speaker 2: loves Yeah, he really likes you, because like, I don't
- 47:45Speaker 2: think someone that's platonic is saying like I would never
- 47:49Speaker 2: do that to you.
- 47:50Speaker 1: No, no, no, yeah.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Like if you if you got disrespected, I wouldn't say that.
- 47:55Speaker 2: I would never you know what I mean?
- 47:58Speaker 1: I got cheated on you, Yeah I would.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I would never do it too, And you'd be like yeah,
- 48:03Speaker 2: because we would never be again, you know, Like in
- 48:06Speaker 2: this situation, I think that that one's bad and that
- 48:09Speaker 2: one's really bad. All right, this one, I'm not try
- 48:11Speaker 2: how I feel about this one. It's my last one.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Tell us what your guy best friend said, and we'll
- 48:18Speaker 2: tell you what he meant. Your wife material not girlfriend material.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Ooh, wife material not girlfriend material means.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Oh you're my second option. Why because he's thinking about
- 48:35Speaker 2: the long game. That means he wants to fuck around
- 48:37Speaker 2: right now and you want to fuck her. He's like
- 48:39Speaker 2: planning a seed to make you fuck around right now
- 48:41Speaker 2: and then then the long game.
- 48:42Speaker 1: I want to marry you.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Oh you're taking it that way. Yeah, I actually that's
- 48:48Speaker 2: a good I wouldn't I wouldn't disagree with that, but
- 48:50Speaker 2: I wanted to ask, actually, what's the difference between wife
- 48:54Speaker 2: material and girlfriend material?
- 48:56Speaker 1: It's the same thing in my eyes.
- 48:58Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, I feel like and no, no,
- 49:00Speaker 2: husband material and boyfriend material it's the same thing, right.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, our vision of dating is if they're your girlfriend,
- 49:06Speaker 1: you see a future with them and potentially you get married.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Where I think a lot of men go wrong in
- 49:11Speaker 1: a sense of dating is just dating a girlfriend is
- 49:14Speaker 1: just lardy, dart doesn't mean much. Yeah, I think the
- 49:17Speaker 1: whole perception of what dating is is wrong. Like the
- 49:19Speaker 1: intention should be that if I'm dating you, I see
- 49:21Speaker 1: a future with you, but a lot of men just
- 49:23Speaker 1: to date to fuck.
- 49:23Speaker 2: And just like in this way, this guy's saying it
- 49:25Speaker 2: like insinuating that wife material is boring because it's like
- 49:29Speaker 2: lasts a long time and the girlfriend material is fine.
- 49:31Speaker 2: So is he saying his friend is not fun?
- 49:33Speaker 1: True? There's another way to take you.
- 49:35Speaker 2: You guys trying to say that, like being wife material
- 49:37Speaker 2: is like which one is the good one?
- 49:39Speaker 1: They're both good ones. They should be the same thing.
- 49:42Speaker 2: I I don't see any reason I think you should
- 49:45Speaker 2: just be like you or I love you material.
- 49:48Speaker 1: That's cute. That's actually really cute. My last one. Tell
- 49:51Speaker 1: us what your guy best friend has said and we'll
- 49:53Speaker 1: tell you what it means. I don't know what I would.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Do without you. Yeah, I think that he wants to
- 50:04Speaker 2: date you. Mm yeah, I think that means I want
- 50:08Speaker 2: this to be more. Yeah, I agree, I think he
- 50:10Speaker 2: think he wants to date you. To be fair, though
- 50:13Speaker 2: a lot of actual best friends would just be would
- 50:15Speaker 2: say like I don't know what to do without you?
- 50:17Speaker 1: True? Yeah? Would I say that I don't know what
- 50:20Speaker 1: i'd do without you, Jake? To be fair, I personally wouldn't,
- 50:22Speaker 1: but I could see like best friend saying that.
- 50:25Speaker 2: You personally wouldn't know what you would do without me.
- 50:28Speaker 2: That's sweet.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I probably wouldn't. We do quite a lot together,
- 50:31Speaker 1: but I don't think I wouldn't voice it like that.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I'll tell you one thing, you wouldn't be making money.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Yeah, mate, I'll tell you what I do all the admin.
- 50:40Speaker 1: You wouldn't be making money either.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Badi's time for dilemmas. I just wanted to actually put
- 50:55Speaker 2: out there that if you have submitted a dilemma on
- 50:58Speaker 2: the main episodes and it has not been answered by
- 51:02Speaker 2: yours truly, then you should go over to Patreon and
- 51:05Speaker 2: sign up at patreon dot com forwards US Relatable sixty
- 51:08Speaker 2: nine all link in the description, all linko in the
- 51:09Speaker 2: description because they have their own dilemmas link and there's a.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Lot less Yeah, we get to all of them over there.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Any who, I've got a good one. Hi. I'm in
- 51:19Speaker 2: a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend. The only thing that's
- 51:21Speaker 2: starting to get to me is from outside the relationship,
- 51:25Speaker 2: not from him, And it's that I am five or
- 51:28Speaker 2: eleven and he is five ten. I am unexpectedly tall
- 51:33Speaker 2: for a woman, and people comment on it regularly, and
- 51:37Speaker 2: I can get insecure about it. Sometimes my boyfriend isn't short,
- 51:41Speaker 2: but he is an inch shorter than me, So I
- 51:43Speaker 2: get comments from other women about this about once a month,
- 51:47Speaker 2: and it feeds into my insecurity about my height. When
- 51:50Speaker 2: I get comments about my height, I always say I'm
- 51:53Speaker 2: the shortest in one in my family, which is true
- 51:56Speaker 2: and disarms the conversation. Having an answer ready that people
- 52:00Speaker 2: don't always know how to respond to forces the conversation
- 52:03Speaker 2: forward and keeps me from focusing on it. I was
- 52:06Speaker 2: wondering if you had any idea about a similar statement.
- 52:08Speaker 2: I have to disarm comments about his slash me being
- 52:12Speaker 2: taller than him, so his height slashed me being taller
- 52:16Speaker 2: than him. These comments are always towards me when he
- 52:19Speaker 2: isn't around, and only by other women. I don't want
- 52:22Speaker 2: it to be aggressive towards the person, just disarming that's
- 52:27Speaker 2: actually devoed.
- 52:28Speaker 1: This brings up a great conversation in a sense of
- 52:32Speaker 1: I guess it's a little bit of insecurity on her side,
- 52:35Speaker 1: and everybody has well, yeah, from the outside world. Everybody
- 52:38Speaker 1: has insecurities. People have bad hairlines, bad skins, something weird
- 52:43Speaker 1: on their body.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Start with airlines.
- 52:44Speaker 1: First one that came to mind, why do you start
- 52:46Speaker 1: with airlines? First? One that came to mind, Dude, what
- 52:49Speaker 1: that's nothing to do with the person sitting next to
- 52:51Speaker 1: me anyway. Yeah, everybody's got insecurities, bad hairlines, and I
- 52:58Speaker 1: would argue that disarming is a little bit of a
- 53:04Speaker 1: band aid fix. And I think in the long run,
- 53:09Speaker 1: because this is hard because you're obviously fine of your height,
- 53:13Speaker 1: but then all these people are saying comments and you
- 53:14Speaker 1: don't want it to affect your relationship or your insecurities,
- 53:17Speaker 1: and I want to show that like, yeah, I feel that,
- 53:21Speaker 1: but also I wouldn't want to continue to disarm people.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I prefer to figure out a strategy to be like
- 53:29Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with that, or me how tall I am,
- 53:31Speaker 1: instead of like just closing off the conversation having something
- 53:35Speaker 1: better to say, where it's like puts them in their
- 53:36Speaker 1: place because it's a them problem, not a me problem.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder so comments probably it's probably sly little
- 53:42Speaker 2: comments like oh he's shorter than you. Ain't like I'm
- 53:45Speaker 2: pretty tall tall for a girl. I feel like the
- 53:48Speaker 2: comments are probably like you know, or like you know,
- 53:52Speaker 2: it's wild that you're tald in your boyfriend, or he's
- 53:54Speaker 2: pretty short or things like that. I feel like it's
- 53:57Speaker 2: pissing me off too, because I know a common thing
- 53:59Speaker 2: for women is like the things they wear, and older
- 54:01Speaker 2: women say like a couple of you're wearing that?
- 54:03Speaker 1: Yeah, like put on a longer dress. Yeah, And it's
- 54:06Speaker 1: a similar thing. And instead of disarming it, is there
- 54:09Speaker 1: a way to put them in their place because it's
- 54:12Speaker 1: them mindset thing that is wrong, not me, is what
- 54:15Speaker 1: I'm trying to get at.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Could I don't know if this is a disarming thing,
- 54:18Speaker 2: but could you just say what's wrong with that?
- 54:20Speaker 1: And it's it's kind of like you're gonna get a
- 54:23Speaker 1: lot of conflict and be okay with that rather than
- 54:26Speaker 1: just moving the conversation on because I hate conflict too.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Yeah, the confrontation of yeah, I'm sure there's two things, right,
- 54:34Speaker 2: So if you I think that you could as soon
- 54:37Speaker 2: as someone says something, you could just say like, oh,
- 54:39Speaker 2: and is there a problem with that? Like that is
- 54:41Speaker 2: kind of confronting. That's that's that's a more of a
- 54:44Speaker 2: confronting approach, right. But if you do say that, people
- 54:46Speaker 2: are gonna be like oh oh oh no, no, you know.
- 54:49Speaker 1: That's simple too.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Or you could say this one would probably get them
- 54:55Speaker 2: to I assume I reckon this would get them to
- 54:57Speaker 2: shut up pretty quickly and like change the conversation. And
- 55:00Speaker 2: if they say they make a comment about either your
- 55:02Speaker 2: height being taller than him or him being shorter than you,
- 55:06Speaker 2: you could just say like, yeah, but at least he
- 55:07Speaker 2: loves me. Oh you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
- 55:11Speaker 2: but like at least he treats me good. Hmmm, he's
- 55:14Speaker 2: a good boyfriend. Like, I don't look at that.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe maybe no. I think the second bit's even
- 55:19Speaker 1: better if if someone comments about his heart or to.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Be a little bit confronting.
- 55:24Speaker 1: To you, I was like, oh, I don't know, I
- 55:25Speaker 1: don't even look at that.
- 55:26Speaker 2: I don't even look at that. Yeah, it's just not
- 55:28Speaker 2: something I look at it. Well, I don't know, is
- 55:30Speaker 2: he Yeah, I didn't really. I mean yeah, you could
- 55:35Speaker 2: say like like, oh, you're tall on your boyfriend.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but fuck he's packing down fairs.
- 55:42Speaker 2: You say, hey, the height went where it counts. That's
- 55:47Speaker 2: how you can start say hey, the height went where
- 55:48Speaker 2: it counts. I think one thing I think saying so
- 55:51Speaker 2: I feel bad that you feel the need to say like, oh,
- 55:53Speaker 2: but I'm the shortest in my family because then what
- 55:55Speaker 2: you're trying to prove is that, like you're not very tall.
- 56:00Speaker 2: So it's like, obviously, I assume this is an assumption.
- 56:03Speaker 2: It never safe to assume, but like there's been times
- 56:07Speaker 2: in your life where you're like, man, I wish I
- 56:08Speaker 2: was shorter. Yeah, right, which should not be the case.
- 56:11Speaker 2: And it sucks that these comments make you feel that way.
- 56:13Speaker 2: In the world makes you feel that way. I mean,
- 56:15Speaker 2: we've joked around about men's heighth. Yeah, you know, imagine
- 56:18Speaker 2: if I can looking down at your boyfriend kiss them
- 56:20Speaker 2: and stuff. It's all a joke. I'm not going to
- 56:21Speaker 2: judge someone that's actually Yeah, but it's also like one
- 56:26Speaker 2: of the reasons that makes you unique and beautiful exactly. Yeah,
- 56:29Speaker 2: Like you're five eleven and like that's rare for a
- 56:32Speaker 2: girl like you said to be that tall, and it's
- 56:34Speaker 2: one of your attributes rather than one of your negatives.
- 56:36Speaker 2: And I think it's just like it's good to change
- 56:38Speaker 2: your mindset and put them in their place because you
- 56:40Speaker 2: are a beautiful person and you don't have to make
- 56:43Speaker 2: no excuse for anyone to make you feel normal. So yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 2: I feel like, okay, ready Number one is I don't know,
- 56:50Speaker 2: in no particular order, choose your favorite. A comment gets
- 56:53Speaker 2: made and you say, is that a problem? A comment
- 56:57Speaker 2: gets made and you say, yeah, but at least he
- 56:59Speaker 2: loves me. A comment gets made and you say, oh,
- 57:01Speaker 2: I didn't really notice that on A common gets made
- 57:04Speaker 2: and you say, yeah, but I feel like I had
- 57:08Speaker 2: one more in my head the heart went where it mattered.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I went.
- 57:13Speaker 2: No the best one. Lazi makes me come. Yeah that one,
- 57:21Speaker 2: because like you're you're not saying that you want to,
- 57:25Speaker 2: You just want to comment a reply that makes them
- 57:27Speaker 2: shut up, I make shut up?
- 57:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, make them shut up. That's what it should be, alright, bad.
- 57:32Speaker 1: His next dilemma. I'm twenty eight, single and panicking that
- 57:35Speaker 1: I've somehow missed my chance at finding my person. Six
- 57:38Speaker 1: months ago, I left a relationship that was awful for
- 57:40Speaker 1: my self, worth something I'm really proud of. But now
- 57:44Speaker 1: I'm on the other side, the fear has crept in.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I thought leaving would make space for something better, but
- 57:49Speaker 1: instead I'm alone, swiping apps that feel completely tapped out.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I live in a small area, and I swear I've
- 57:55Speaker 1: seen every face within a fifty kilometer radius, including a
- 57:58Speaker 1: few I'd rather not see again. Up there's some pretty
- 58:01Speaker 1: unhinged dates. I want to enjoy being single, so I
- 58:04Speaker 1: try to romanticize my alone time. But it's hard when
- 58:07Speaker 1: every quiet moment turns into a spiral of what if
- 58:10Speaker 1: there isn't.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Anyone for me?
- 58:12Speaker 1: Everyone around me is in a long term relationship, and
- 58:14Speaker 1: turning thirty like this feels so terrifying. Plus I live alone.
- 58:18Speaker 1: How do I actually enjoy being single and trust that
- 58:21Speaker 1: love will find me again?
- 58:24Speaker 2: I think that we've had a lot of dilemmas like
- 58:27Speaker 2: this before, or a few at least, and I can't
- 58:32Speaker 2: give any advice from like a position of being in
- 58:34Speaker 2: that situation. No, But like what you're asking, what she
- 58:37Speaker 2: asked at the end was how do I would say?
- 58:39Speaker 2: How do I how.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Do I actually enjoy being single? And how do I
- 58:42Speaker 1: trust that love will find me again?
- 58:45Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a how to for that.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no real guide there.
- 58:51Speaker 2: But Yeah, being.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Single it's tough though, because the age thing is annoying because,
- 59:00Speaker 1: like the last dilemma, the people around you put this
- 59:03Speaker 1: pressure on you. Yeah, especially for women, you gotta find
- 59:06Speaker 1: a man and have kids. There's so much pressure, which
- 59:09Speaker 1: In reality, a number means nothing. Everyone's on their own journey.
- 59:14Speaker 1: But it's easier said than done, and it's very daunting.
- 59:18Speaker 2: Yeah, the saying life's not a race is like the
- 59:20Speaker 2: hardest one to live by. Yeah, because comparison it happens
- 59:24Speaker 2: no matter what, Oh my god, compare Like I don't know,
- 59:27Speaker 2: here's okay. The only thing I would say that I
- 59:29Speaker 2: think might work if you try it is like just
- 59:31Speaker 2: like fucking throw your phone off a bridge for a
- 59:33Speaker 2: month or some shit. I don't know. Just see what
- 59:34Speaker 2: happens when you don't have anything to compare to. Just
- 59:37Speaker 2: live your life, do the hobbies you like doing, turn
- 59:39Speaker 2: your phone off, like, try that and if it doesn't work,
- 59:41Speaker 2: come back to us. Like, I actually don't know apart
- 59:43Speaker 2: from the fact that it's like, you know what you
- 59:45Speaker 2: like doing outside of work, you know what you like doing, like,
- 59:50Speaker 2: you know the hobbies you like, You know that you
- 59:51Speaker 2: know who your friends are and stuff like if you
- 59:53Speaker 2: want to enjoy being single, I guess you just have
- 59:56Speaker 2: to come to terms with the fact that you're single
- 59:58Speaker 2: and it'll find you want to find.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: It's kind of advice. I would also like steer you
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: off the dating apps.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: After oh yeah, dating apps ae bit.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: We were told to watch Married at First Sight to
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: get some content on offer and give their opinions. I
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: watched one episode and Jake, did you watch it? That
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: was the worst thing I've ever watched in my life.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I refuse, I'm not watching anymore. And like the way
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: the men are.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Dude. Apparently there was one girl in there that was
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: like a model, right, like beautiful, and she's up there
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: and this guy he's little thing beforehand and is like,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I don't want a girl that's fat. I don't want
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: a girl that's blah blah blah blah blah. And he
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: looks at her in her and she's like, oh, she's
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: all right. Apparently she's like beautiful, she's tall than him. Yeah,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: and that was a problem for him, and that was
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: a problem for him.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that's what I mean. And I think what
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: the men on the show really depict h how harsh
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: it is out there, and they're a type of men
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: on the apps. I think the men any man who
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: wants to all on that type of show go on
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: the apps aren't really There's obviously some stories which are
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: really good, but ninety percent of them aren't. There for
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: the right reasons. So again, you don't want to hear it,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: but it'll come to you when you least expect it,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: and you want it to happen in real life. I reckon
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: just because I don't know I watched that. I was though.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: I think like real life, yes, Instagram everyone's like yeah,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: everyone like meets online.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Still, I mean not the apps. I feel like those
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: intentions are fucked.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I don't know about the apps as well, So I'm
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: just trying to think, like, is there could you go
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: on like a if if you really want a man,
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: could you go to singles nights or anything like those?
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: I feel like they used to be a thing.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Maybe, But I would also argue that it's not what
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: you want to hear. But because you're thinking, like, oh,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: I've got a time limit, I want to find a man,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: it never happens. But when you when somehow there's that
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: switch in your mind where you're really happy with where
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: your life's at and you're fine with yourself and you're grinding,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: you're becoming the best version of yourself and you don't
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: need a man. That's when it happens to you. And
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: you don't want to hear that. But right now. Your
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: mindset's like clock's ticking and in a man and then
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: shitty men are happening, and you're like kind of forcing
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: is in the.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Right word, but it's the best way to describe it.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: You're forcing it so it's not happening. Yeah, that would
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: be my advice. Yeah, and it's really hard and you
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: don't want to hear that, and I know that.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: It's a shit advice.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Maybe I'm trying to think here, like what if you Okay,
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: last my last little bit of advice is like, what
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: if you were to treat yourself the way you would
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: want to be treated by a man, Just see what
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: it's like. So like, treat yourself the exact way you
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: would want to be treated like that, and then just
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: like it's kind of be your own relationship.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Romanticizing your life.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Like romanticize your own life for a bit and
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: then you might just start loving it and then you
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: just get mad comfortable and it's been six months since
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: you left this other guy, you're still kind of going
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: through a heartbreak and shit, like it's still fresh. Just like,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: romanticize your life. Be like main character energy driving down
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: the coast, fucking like being a beast. I don't know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: find yourself flowers, taking yourself on dates. Yeah, and that
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: doesn't mean you can't fuck other people. Take yourself on
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: a holiday, take yourself.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: On a getaway with your best friend. That is his
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: time for comments. If you want to get your comment read,
