- 0:00You're listening to Strictly Business Podcast with Lindsay Williams.
- 0:05It's Monday, so it's time for Shapiro World with David Shapiro from Sassfin
- 0:10Securities in Johannesburg.
- 0:12David, we're not going to moan about Trump's attempted market manipulation by
- 0:17saying that
- 0:19China is going to have these tariffs on them because of rare earths and then
- 0:23suddenly he's the hero when there's a deal.
- 0:25We won't do that until later.
- 0:27Now I've done it, we may as well do it.
- 0:30Why does he do that?
- 0:30He wants to pretend to be the hero, fixing something that he broke, which is so
- 0:35irritating.
- 0:37You know, I think if we go back the whole year, it's been Trump on, Trump off, you
- 0:43know, Trump on, Trump off.
- 0:45It's been so difficult to read.
- 0:45And, you know, the latest story, I mean, you know, the 100% tariffs on
- 0:50China's withholding rare earths and magnets, you know, now that's reversed.
- 0:57That's not going to happen.
- 0:59You don't know from one day to the next.
- 1:01Even though he's flying around in his big, beautiful plane and stopping off in China.
- 1:07I mean, well, I think where is he in Malaysia at the moment?
- 1:10He's going off to Japan. He's even going to probably meet Kim again in North Korea.
- 1:17So he loves it.
- 1:19This is what he enjoys.
- 1:21He enjoys people loving him or coming to see him or being forced to see him.
- 1:27he's, So this is Trump at his best.
- 1:29But I mean, from a market point of view, I think the fact that he is trying to make
- 1:36peace with Xi and China,
- 1:38and hopefully they've got some kind of framework for a deal.
- 1:40I think markets are getting a little excited today.
- 1:45But where does it go next week?
- 1:47I have no idea.
- 1:48We've still got lockdown.
- 1:50You know what?
- 1:51We've still got lockdown in the United States.
- 1:54There's no further negotiation there.
- 1:57I don't know what's happened.
- 1:58I don't know the latest news.
- 2:00So, I mean, you know, we've negotiated this whole year.
- 2:02The fact that we're up where we are at the moment,
- 2:05it's quite remarkable against the news and the on and offs of Mr.
- 2:10Trump throughout the last 10 months.
- 2:14Anyway, today is one of those positive days.
- 2:17Yes, it is.
- 2:18I mean, it's also when you, if you were just a person that,
- 2:23looked at graphs and you didn't turn on the news and you looked at the graphs of
- 2:29various securities,
- 2:31various asset classes of 2025, you would say, goodness me, it's been a fantastic
- 2:36year.
- 2:38It just keeps on going up.
- 2:40There was that one very brief three-day blip in April, but you would say, well,
- 2:44that's perfectly normal.
- 2:45That's what happened.
- 2:46And that's what it is, David.
- 2:47Take away Trump.
- 2:48Take away the news.
- 2:49Take away the noise.
- 2:51take away the emotion which i get caught up with then it's just been a fantastic
- 2:57year hasn't it
- 2:59yeah it is i i is it justified you know you can't you can't look at markets from
- 3:04that point of view
- 3:06money there seems to be or appears to be a lot of liquidity that is finding its way
- 3:10into money and
- 3:12i have no doubt with gold coming under a bit of pressure that money will now shift
- 3:17back into the market i'm not sure it's going to go
- 3:19into bitcoin or something like that but it finds a place.
- 3:21And, you know, the stories,
- 3:25there's still quite a few stories that are abounding.
- 3:29AI is not over.
- 3:30More and more money is being spent in it.
- 3:34I'm looking at air travel.
- 3:36Money is being spent in air travel.
- 3:38You know, money is being spent all over the place.
- 3:40So businesses are not being put off by Mr.
- 3:44Trump, by his tariffs, by lockdown.
- 3:47down by any or shut down you know by any of those issues and i think businessmen i
- 3:54i think they're exhausted and they just
- 3:56get on with okay you know let's let's sit behind the desk and run our businesses i
- 4:01don't know i can't explain it in in
- 4:03any other way but
- 4:04um i think to have to have gone through this year and to have um you know followed
- 4:11the headlines uh it's been exhausting
- 4:13and that we We are where we are.
- 4:13I just kind of lift my eyebrows and say, okay.
- 4:17I'll take it.
- 4:18Thank you very much.
- 4:21It's almost as though, from what you've just said, it's almost as though you feel
- 4:27as though when you speak to your clients,
- 4:29you've got to justify their portfolios doing well, even though you can't really.
- 4:32I suppose you can say, well, people like Trump and people like the fact that he's
- 4:39going to be a force on the US
- 4:41Federal Reserve.
- 4:43And maybe Besant goes in as the Fed chair, and that means interest rates.
- 4:45are going to be kept at reasonable levels in his eyes for the rest of his tenure.
- 4:50I don't know.
- 4:51Maybe that's it.
- 4:51Maybe it's just cheap money, David.
- 4:54It could be.
- 4:55Because I don't think anybody knows.
- 4:57Besant did announce the five candidates for Fed chair.
- 5:01Oh, yes.
- 5:02I don't think there's any surprise in any of them.
- 5:06But...
- 5:07Lindsay, to be fair, I don't think anybody has got a grasp of the US economy.
- 5:13I don't think there's anybody that's got a grasp of tariffs, you know, of what this
- 5:19means down the line.
- 5:21I don't think there's anybody who can come out with a model and talk confidently that
- 5:26this is what lies ahead.
- 5:28No one understands the job market.
- 5:31Everything seems to be guessing.
- 5:32You know, I think even the Fed, I doubt whether they've got any models that that.
- 5:37in a point in the right direction.
- 5:39And you can hear it when Powell talks.
- 5:41You know, there's no clear confidence in what he's saying.
- 5:44You know, he is data dependent.
- 5:46So I'm saying at the end, we look, we wait for results to come through.
- 5:51We look at the company and we rely on what management say about what lies ahead.
- 5:56You know, that's our best guideline.
- 6:00There's a lot of debate about the future of AI, you know, that where the money
- 6:06spent
- 6:08now will ever get a decent return.
- 6:10I think that's with any industry.
- 6:11So there's a lot of uncertainty you have to kind of negotiate if you're managing
- 6:18other people's money.
- 6:20And you just do it the best you can.
- 6:22And you're doing that.
- 6:23So, yeah, just carry on.
- 6:25Carry on until otherwise advised, Shapiro.
- 6:27That's my advice to you for what it's worth.
- 6:30And just speaking of AI, I have to tell you my AI journey, and I was a bit anti
- 6:34it.
- 6:35but now I'm not hooked on it, but it is a useful tool.
- 6:40It's now talking to me.
- 6:42It's now having a conversation with me because I'll put something in and it'll
- 6:47say, oh, I see what you're doing, Lindsay.
- 6:49You were looking back at this a week ago and now you're applying it to this because
- 6:54I put in Rip Van Winkle,
- 6:56which is a story of,
- 7:00it's an American story of this character.
- 7:03who fell asleep for 20 years, and they thought I was trying to apply it to Trump
- 7:09or somebody.
- 7:11Wasn't it?
- 7:13Who wrote the book?
- 7:15I have no idea.
- 7:17Famous American author.
- 7:19Are you putting me in difficult territory?
- 7:21I know the story, sure.
- 7:23It wasn't Mark Twain.
- 7:25No, no.
- 7:27It wasn't him, the Mark Twain.
- 7:29I can ask AI quickly.
- 7:31Yeah, who was the author of Van Winkle?
- 7:33Otherwise, it'll drive me mad for the rest of this interview.
- 7:35It's the last thing.
- 7:37And while you're doing that, David, I'll read a couple of prices here, because the
- 7:40gold price is about to break down through 4000.
- 7:42It's 4001.88 at the moment.
- 7:43And it's going to change its big figure.
- 7:45And that's a massive move.
- 7:46That's a 10% fall from the high.
- 7:48There it goes.
- 7:49It's just broken through 4000, which is a big move, two and two thirds percent
- 7:54today.
- 7:56I won't dwell on that.
- 7:58The oil price is up 0.3.
- 8:00It's important.
- 8:02I think, you know, why it's important.
- 8:04Washington Irving.
- 8:06Washington Irving, that's right.
- 8:08Yes.
- 8:10Rup van Winkle.
- 8:12Yeah.
- 8:14Why it's important is that I tell you my fear.
- 8:16My fear was that if gold fell, you know,
- 8:16it would fall in conjunction with other markets or it would drag down other
- 8:23markets because there isn't a liquidity
- 8:25association, you know.
- 8:27punters going into gold and Bitcoin and into the market, you know, that
- 8:31speculative urge.
- 8:33So I must admit, I was a little cautious or fearful that if gold started to sell
- 8:37off,
- 8:37that it would spread through to the other markets.
- 8:40But I think the fact that the US market is picking up that Trump is doing these deals
- 8:46is actually attracting money away from gold, you know, call it the safe haven if
- 8:51you want to,
- 8:52into equity market.
- 8:55There is another theory as well, David, and people say, well, gold's going first
- 9:01because gold is a very illiquid market compared to,
- 9:03say, the bond market or to AI stocks or any stock in the S&P 500 or in ETF.
- 9:08So they're saying what happens is that people position themselves in gold first
- 9:15because they know if there's some sort of movement elsewhere,
- 9:17it'll be difficult to get out of gold relative to the other asset classes.
- 9:20That's just a theory.
- 9:21I don't believe it in this case.
- 9:23I don't think it's valid in this case.
- 9:24None of us know.
- 9:26Markets are so complex today that it's almost impossible to understand the flows
- 9:33and some of the movements
- 9:35that we're seeing.
- 9:37But I must be honest, I was a bit concerned that if gold went,
- 9:44that it might follow through to other markets.
- 9:46For the meantime, that's not happening.
- 9:49It's not for now anyway.
- 9:49No.
- 9:502.6% weaker.
- 9:52Copper price, watch that one.
- 9:53That's not going anywhere but up at the moment, up another 1% at $5.14 per pound.
- 9:59US 10-year treasury yield didn't like being below 4%.
- 10:02It's 4.03%.
- 10:04S&P 500, another record high.
- 10:0668.87, the December futures, up nearly 1%, quite extraordinary.
- 10:12South African 10-year bond, 8.90%, still nice and steady.
- 10:18David, the JSC, please tell me about pick and pay, because pick and pay another
- 10:237.25% down, I think.
- 10:25You know, the results came out today, and it was a half-year result.
- 10:28The problem is that their exposure to Boxer actually masks what's happening
- 10:35underneath.
- 10:36So when you take out Boxer, you still have a company that is under a lot of pressure.
- 10:42I don't think, you know, Sean Summers is quite open about where they are.
- 10:46and the amount of work that they have to do.
- 10:48But, I mean, it does, it's a lot of weakness there.
- 10:51There's a slight improvement in terms, you know, they sold off boxes, so they got
- 10:56more cash,
- 10:58and that's helping their margins.
- 11:00You know, with more cash, it reduces their interest payments.
- 11:03Also, there was a little more volume sales.
- 11:05But, I mean, it still remains a very weak, unprofitable business,
- 11:11as things are.
- 11:12And I say unprofitable because...
- 11:15you know, on a trading basis, the pick and pays out of them is still in loss.
- 11:20It's, you know, it's still negative.
- 11:23So a lot of work to be done.
- 11:25And I think the markets are just getting wise to it.
- 11:28If you look at pick and pays, market cap and you take out Boxer, you actually,
- 11:35there's a negative one billion value on the pick and pay business, you know,
- 11:41outside of Boxer. Yes.
- 11:45So this is still not one that you've been actually very, not vocal,
- 11:50but you've been firm on your stance towards pick and pay.
- 11:54And it's essentially, it's a dog to you.
- 11:57It's a dog.
- 11:58And you don't say that.
- 11:58I say that.
- 12:00I know Sean Summers would say the same thing.
- 12:03He wouldn't put it in that manner because he's trying to turn it around.
- 12:07But it's going to take a long time to correct the issues that dragged
- 12:14it down over the years.
- 12:15You can't just do it straight away.
- 12:17And you've also got a very strong shop-life, checkers, Woolworths, even Spa
- 12:23coming back.
- 12:25So it's not like the, and Walmart are also getting into the action again.
- 12:28That's what I was going to say to you.
- 12:30I saw something over the weekend, and it was to do with a very, very influential
- 12:35global investor.
- 12:37And he said South Africa is going to go, in his opinion, from zero to hero.
- 12:41It says it takes a long time for capital to come back into a country that has been
- 12:47under the cosh,
- 12:49so to speak.
- 12:51But South Africa has now got a relatively stable government, ESCOM, he said.
- 12:54It was hugely important to him when he looked at South Africa, which he's
- 13:00apparently investing in.
- 13:02And you see the bond market, I can see why.
- 13:03Could be true.
- 13:04And then in the same article, I sort of skipped over it, David, because I was
- 13:09watching a football match, as usual.
- 13:11And it says something about Walmart coming in.
- 13:12Is it going to be Walmart branded stores?
- 13:14That's what I understand.
- 13:16Yes.
- 13:16Well, remember, they were part of Macro.
- 13:18Yes.
- 13:19They bought Macro.
- 13:20And so all they're doing now is...
- 13:22rebranding and using the Walmart brand and perhaps getting closer to the market.
- 13:28You know, this hasn't been a superb investment on their part.
- 13:31No.
- 13:32Lindsay, there's still a lot to do here.
- 13:34You know, I think people, it's easy to say we're coming off a low base.
- 13:38The government's more stable.
- 13:41One doesn't get that sense.
- 13:42I don't think there's a will to turn things around here.
- 13:46And that's the big worry.
- 13:47In order to turn the economy around, you have to lay a proper foundation.
- 13:52And there's still too much politics involved to do that.
- 13:56And there's no money.
- 13:57And the reason you've got no money is that you've got a massive unemployment rate.
- 14:02So whatever money we make,
- 14:05we've got to feed those unemployed people and clothe them and send them to hospital,
- 14:11have hospitals for them.
- 14:13So as long as you have that massive burden, and remember, you've got high debt
- 14:16as well,
- 14:16there's very little to reinvest.
- 14:19The only way to reinvest and build up, you need...
- 14:21private capital.
- 14:22So you've got to entice investment.
- 14:25But politically, they're not prepared to do that.
- 14:29They want to do it according to their rules.
- 14:33So I just sit on the sidelines and say, okay, that's all very nice.
- 14:39But for the meantime, there's plenty of other places around the world to invest.
- 14:45And I must draw your attention to Mr.
- 14:47Trump.
- 14:48As much as you dislike him, he's not coming to Africa.
- 14:51He's going to Malaysia, he's going to Indonesia, he's going to Japan, he's going
- 14:58to Korea, you know, he's going to China, India.
- 15:00He's still got three years, so he might pop over.
- 15:05He's very popular in certain African countries.
- 15:08I think he's incredibly popular in Nigeria.
- 15:11No, he is in Nigeria, but in South Africa, no, his persona non grata.
- 15:17So the point I'm making is South Africa has to make itself attractive.
- 15:21if you want Mr.
- 15:22Trump to come here.
- 15:23You know, he's sending wants.
- 15:24I mean, the G20.
- 15:26And it's actually almost comical to see how they're trying to give Joburg a paint
- 15:32of coat, you know,
- 15:34and saying, okay, listen.
- 15:36A coat of paint, you mean?
- 15:38These are the roads, you know.
- 15:40You can only drive on these roads.
- 15:42Don't go anywhere else.
- 15:44So I'm saying they should take the G20 up Louis Botha Avenue, or Louis Botha Avenue
- 15:47to pronounce it correctly.
- 15:49You know, from Alexandra to through to Hilbra.
- 15:51That will be an education for the G20.
- 15:53Is that still bad?
- 15:57I mean, I used to drive down Louisville quite a bit.
- 16:01But then towards the end, I started to get a little bit nervous about hijackings and
- 16:07things like that.
- 16:07But also the potholes and the traffic and stuff.
- 16:10Is it still quite bad?
- 16:12The worst.
- 16:13You've got to dodge the taxis, you know, who make up their own rules.
- 16:17driving cars that are not roadworthy, whatever it is.
- 16:21You know, so it's like going to a carnival and going through, you know,
- 16:28you have to negotiate your way through to the other end to get the prize.
- 16:31So you're saying that if I wanted to go to the Radium Beer Hall for a beer and a
- 16:36plate of prawns,
- 16:38I couldn't park down that side road, find a parking space, find a chap to give some
- 16:44money to.
- 16:46you know, watch my car.
- 16:46You can't do that anymore.
- 16:48Live with the memory.
- 16:50Really?
- 16:52And there was a pizza place just down the road as well called Ebuco.
- 16:57It used to have a lot of character.
- 16:58I mean, Radiant Beer Hall was an iconic place.
- 17:02It's still there, isn't it?
- 17:03Yeah, I'm not sure you'd risk it today.
- 17:07Oh dear.
- 17:08David, so pick and pay off the list.
- 17:11And it just shows you how influential the miners are at the moment, because we've
- 17:17got gold fields down 8%,
- 17:19DRD Gold and Harmony are both getting walloped, Anglo Gold as well.
- 17:21And that's just the top few, there must be more beneath.
- 17:24And the indices are down quite heavily, the all share that is, despite the fact
- 17:31that we've got
- 17:33NASPERS and ProSys.
- 17:35are both up over 3%.
- 17:37So the mine is really giving the JSC a bit of a pounding today.
- 17:39Yeah.
- 17:40Well, if you look at gold fields, they're down 10%.
- 17:43Durban Deep, you know, almost 8.5%.
- 17:45Harmony, so 7.8%.
- 17:47So this is a big sell-off.
- 17:49This is a very, very strong sell-off, which is offsetting.
- 17:52So, Lindsay, from a mining point of view, you know, the resource index is down
- 17:59almost 6%.
- 18:016% is a big move.
- 18:01That's huge.
- 18:02And that's...
- 18:02taken down by the gold and platinum miners.
- 18:06This is a large sell-off, and it builds on itself because it's a geared market.
- 18:12There's a lot of borrowing against this.
- 18:14And once you're squeezed, once there's a margin squeeze, boy, you get out as fast
- 18:21as you can,
- 18:23margin call.
- 18:25So I think it's not a day that everybody it's a day that people anticipated but
- 18:30just hoped
- 18:30that they didn't see it.
- 18:31$39.92 now, the gold price.
- 18:36That's a big move.
- 18:36Nearly 3% weaker, 4% down for silver, but copper still holding up there.
- 18:43Okay, David, so it's a bad day on the JSC because of the miners, because of the
- 18:49influence of the commodity stocks,
- 18:51but a good day everywhere else.
- 18:51And you've got to say it, Mr.
- 18:52Trump seems to be well-liked in Malaysia, and I think he'll get on with the new
- 18:59Japanese prime minister.
- 19:01Yes, she's a nationalist.
- 19:03She's far right and a nationalist as well, as you say.
- 19:06So she's going to spend on defence.
- 19:09So she's, you know, she says the right things.
- 19:13And that's, you know, he likes that.
- 19:15So he seems to have got on very well in their conversation.
- 19:21But this is Trump.
- 19:22You know, this is, he loves it.
- 19:23He loves the adoration that people give him.
- 19:26And I think simply because he's American.
- 19:29Nobody wants to upset him.
- 19:31No nation wants to upset him.
- 19:32Because as Mr.
- 19:33Carney saw with that advert, that Ronald Reagan advert, you know, just another 10%.
- 19:39You know, it's like your mother used to do that.
- 19:42Lindsay, go to your room for five minutes.
- 19:44He's like, yeah, Mark.
- 19:46Okay, we're going to make that 10 minutes.
- 19:47And you argue back, and then it's 20 minutes.
- 19:50That's Trump, you know, at his best.
- 19:53That's a slightly outlandish example you used there, David.
- 19:55I was an angel as a child, but anyway.
- 19:57Were you?
- 20:00Oh, yeah.
- 20:00Like a mother.
- 20:01You know how mothers are.
- 20:01Yes, I do.
- 20:04What about South America while we're on it and before we talk about football?
- 20:07South America is interesting.
- 20:09Sorry, the Argentinian election went Trump's way.
- 20:13He'd backed, what's his name, the funny one with the sideburns.
- 20:15Engelbert Humperdinck.
- 20:17Yeah, we could call him Engelbert Humperdinck, but he's more of a rock star
- 20:21than a crooner.
- 20:23So I don't think we should call him Engelbert.
- 20:27But the Argentinian bond market has soared today.
- 20:31I would have to say that even with Trump's backing, I'd be a seller of those bonds
- 20:37because they've never paid.
- 20:39They've never paid back bondholders.
- 20:39In the history, in modern history, in post-war history,
- 20:42Argentina is guaranteed to default on its bonds.
- 20:47You've got to be very brave to deal in Argentinian bonds.
- 20:51And I think that's been the record over, I don't know, 2025, ever since Eva Perón,
- 20:56you know.
- 20:58So it's odd.
- 20:59It's such a beautiful country.
- 21:01Yes.
- 21:02That's an incredible country, you know.
- 21:04And, you know, when you watch the rugby teams, when you watch the football teams,
- 21:09when you watch the Messi's and everything,
- 21:11it's just so odd that this is a very sophisticated city, sophisticated people.
- 21:16And yet, financially, it's just a mess.
- 21:19And it has been.
- 21:21And I'm surprised that they still actually survive.
- 21:26But it's not an area that I would, it's not the kind of market that I would dare
- 21:32go into.
- 21:34In fact, I'm very nervous of any emerging market.
- 21:38I might not include India as an emerging market or China.
- 21:41You know what I mean?
- 21:43Those are big, big dynamic economies.
- 21:46But for South America or even for South Africa, for Africa,
- 21:52I'm very careful.
- 21:54Okay, David, thanks for all that.
- 21:56Lots to digest and the market's just carrying on and we discussed that at the
- 22:02beginning.
- 22:03Don't worry why it's going up.
- 22:04It's going up and be happy with that.
- 22:06David, Arsenal, four points clear at the top.
- 22:09People saying that it's their title to lose now, but we know history dictates
- 22:15that they will lose it.
- 22:17They've lost it before.
- 22:17Do you remember that time when they were clear at Christmas?
- 22:20Yes.
- 22:20And they blew it completely.
- 22:22Do you think it'll happen again?
- 22:24I take each game as it comes.
- 22:27And as long as they can prevent the injury, they are deeply reliant on the
- 22:33back four,
- 22:34and especially the two centre-backs.
- 22:37Although they have got a reserve, I worry about them.
- 22:41They can't play every game.
- 22:43It's just unfair.
- 22:45But at the end also, if you look at the kind of goals they're scoring, actually
- 22:52yesterday was a super goal.
- 22:54It really was a well-worked goal.
- 22:55I like Eze, don't you?
- 22:59Don't you like him?
- 23:00I think he's a fantastic player.
- 23:01And also, yes, when he's interviewed, he's always got a smile on his face.
- 23:05He's a nice man.
- 23:06And he speaks well.
- 23:07He seems a very, very nice chap.
- 23:11And, you know, it just depends.
- 23:13It's a long season still to go.
- 23:17The beauty about this season is that you can find Sunderland beating Chelsea.
- 23:22I mean, and beating them.
- 23:24It wasn't like a lucky goal that bounced off someone's head.
- 23:28And, you know, Aston Villa beating Man City.
- 23:34So I think anybody can win.
- 23:36You dare not go into a game, you know, full of confidence.
- 23:41And that's the problem is that you've got to play every game seriously,
- 23:45which can cause injuries.
- 23:48I suppose it's every squad themselves, but still.
- 23:51for a team fragile like Arsenal. I mean, were they doing well?
- 23:57Who knows?
- 23:58Spurs are looking okay.
- 23:59What has happened to Liverpool, by the way?
- 24:01Because I noticed today in one of my football emails that I get, it said
- 24:08replacement for Arnaud Slott.
- 24:10I mean, they're already talking about him leaving at the end of the season if
- 24:15Liverpool don't regain, retain their title.
- 24:17Such nonsense, of course.
- 24:19You know, the funny thing is, and I loved Diaz.
- 24:20I thought he was great.
- 24:22I loved, you know, I liked, what's his name, Alexander Arnold.
- 24:29I thought he was great, you know.
- 24:32And there were certain people there that made it.
- 24:34Mac Allister's nowhere to be seen.
- 24:37Remember they had, oh, the German, he retired, he went, he came back.
- 24:41I'm missing his name.
- 24:44What German retired and came back?
- 24:47Which one?
- 24:48Remember he went to Real Madrid or something like that.
- 24:51Oh, God.
- 24:51With a G.
- 24:52Now I've gone blank now.
- 24:54Anyway, you know who I'm talking about.
- 24:56And I think they're just missing those people.
- 25:00And poor old Salah's nowhere to be seen.
- 25:04He's just not being fed the same kind of long balls.
- 25:06He scored a nice goal.
- 25:07He scored a nice goal against Brentford. Yeah, no, too late.
- 25:14Too late.
- 25:15Yeah, too late.
- 25:1690th minute.
- 25:17Uh, not Graven.
- 25:19I can't remember his name.
- 25:20Doesn't matter.
- 25:21But anyway, their recruitment policy hasn't been good.
- 25:24You don't buy Etet Sique, the out-and-out striker, and also Alexander Izak, an
- 25:30out-and-out striker.
- 25:32He's nowhere.
- 25:34They're nowhere.
- 25:36They don't have to play with each other.
- 25:38One comes on, one comes off.
- 25:40It's ridiculous what's going on there.
- 25:42No, I know.
- 25:44And also, talking about Diaz.
- 25:46See how well he's doing at Bayern Munich.
- 25:48He's a great player and he's a great loss to Liverpool.
- 25:50I loved it.
- 25:52He was a lovely player.
- 25:54He was a good man.
- 25:56You know what I mean?
- 25:58I enjoyed him.
- 26:00He caused havoc.
- 26:02And what's happening is that you just have to play a long ball against Liverpool.
- 26:04You saw them floundering with those long balls into the area.
- 26:06And they were throw-ins.
- 26:08They weren't even corners.
- 26:10That's so.
- 26:12Anyway.
- 26:14I quite enjoy it, watching Liverpool flounder.
- 26:16Me too.
- 26:18Okay, David.
- 26:20Always end on a negative note.
- 26:22I love that.
- 26:24But I agree with you.
- 26:26David, thank you very much for your time.
- 26:28We'll speak again next Tuesday.
- 26:30No Thursday this week.
- 26:32Okay.
- 26:34David Shapiro is from...
- 26:36Good luck.
- 26:38Yes, thank you.
- 26:40David Shapiro is from Assessment Securities.
- 26:42That was Shapiro World.
