- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. Welcome
- 0:34Speaker 1: to Hawk Talk Preview edition, Week thirteen. The Seahawks are
- 0:37Speaker 1: at home against the forty nine. Is a team that
- 0:40Speaker 1: they beat this year. Let's see if they can do
- 0:42Speaker 1: it again. Run that thing back. Before we get into it,
- 0:44Speaker 1: let's get into the injury updates with Nasa Chobe. Thanks Bumba.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I'll first start off with some roster news for the
- 0:49Speaker 1: Seahawks that they have signed former All Pro and future
- 0:51Speaker 1: Hall of Fame running back Atrian Peterson. Head coach p Carroll.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Excited to see what he can bring to the table,
- 0:56Speaker 1: Excited to see if he helps out and give us
- 0:58Speaker 1: a little something. And it's a player that i've you know,
- 1:01Speaker 1: I've known forever, you know, his way back to his
- 1:04Speaker 1: high school days, and admired him tremendously over the years.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Always disappointed we didn't get him back in the day,
- 1:10Speaker 1: but like I just told him, we finally got him.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So I'm looking forward see how he how he does
- 1:13Speaker 1: and see where he can fit in. He's an incredible
- 1:16Speaker 1: competitor and a great guy and some anxious stage, you know,
- 1:22Speaker 1: give him a chance to get on a field with
- 1:24Speaker 1: our boys. As far as the injury, some good news
- 1:26Speaker 1: on Rashad Penny, who as of now is not heading
- 1:28Speaker 1: to ir No. We're going to see how he works
- 1:30Speaker 1: this week, see if he can get back in action.
- 1:32Speaker 1: We're not sure yet. I have to wait and see
- 1:33Speaker 1: this is gonna be. It's it's a week that we're
- 1:35Speaker 1: in a little bit different mode because of the Monday
- 1:37Speaker 1: night game, and so as we make it through the
- 1:40Speaker 1: first couple of days of the week, we're kind of
- 1:42Speaker 1: in recovery mode and he should be able to do everything,
- 1:47Speaker 1: is what the trainers are saying talking about shod now
- 1:49Speaker 1: and so we'll see what that means. And lastly, Pete
- 1:51Speaker 1: Carroll feels good about a possible return for Damian Lewis.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Good positive signs going into today from the docks. We'll
- 1:57Speaker 1: see what happens this week will help him a little,
- 2:00Speaker 1: but he'll get another couple of days where we won't
- 2:01Speaker 1: have to be jamming on anybody, so we'll see and
- 2:04Speaker 1: see if that doesn't help him so well, but we
- 2:06Speaker 1: are thinking that he should be back. All right. That'll
- 2:08Speaker 1: do it for the injury updates. Now it's time talking
- 2:09Speaker 1: about the Seahawks Week thirteen. Opponent familiar foe, the San
- 2:13Speaker 1: Francisco forty nine Ers. What's on tap? What's on tap?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Those San Francisco forty nine ers. They are six in
- 2:23Speaker 1: five on the season, with wins over the Detroit Lions,
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, the Rams, the Jags, and
- 2:29Speaker 1: the Minnesota Vikings. San Francisco Man. Early in the year
- 2:33Speaker 1: they lost four games in a row. I thought it
- 2:35Speaker 1: was over. I thought it was all she wrote for
- 2:37Speaker 1: those Niners. Everyone was talking about Trey Lance when they
- 2:39Speaker 1: get him in there. Jimmy Garoppolo is washed. Can't do it.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Things of turn man, things of turn. Especially the last
- 2:45Speaker 1: three games. They're on a three game winning streak, winning
- 2:48Speaker 1: four of their last five. But things really started to
- 2:50Speaker 1: change when they whipped up on the Rams. I think
- 2:53Speaker 1: after that game they beat him thirty one to ten.
- 2:56Speaker 1: That's kind of when they found their identity in what
- 2:58Speaker 1: they do well. And they're starting to get healthy and honestly,
- 3:00Speaker 1: they've messed up the Rams. The right Rams haven't won
- 3:02Speaker 1: a game since, so they've they've got it going on.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Heading into Week thirteen, excuse me, League twelve against the
- 3:10Speaker 1: Minnesota it was a big game for both teams. They
- 3:13Speaker 1: were five and five. It was a big playoff implication
- 3:15Speaker 1: for that final wald card spot. But the forty nine
- 3:18Speaker 1: Ers stayed true to what's gotten him this point, and
- 3:20Speaker 1: that's a dominant run game. Yes, you could still win
- 3:22Speaker 1: in this league, bump run in the football. The forty
- 3:25Speaker 1: nine Ers are a great testament to that. They ran
- 3:27Speaker 1: the ball thirty nine times for two hundred eight yards
- 3:30Speaker 1: three teddies. Elijah Mitchell let all ball carries twenty seven carries,
- 3:34Speaker 1: one hundred and thirty three yards in one touchdown. Deebo
- 3:38Speaker 1: Samuel also added sixty six yards on six carries and
- 3:40Speaker 1: two touchdowns, and Jimmy g Man, right, where do you
- 3:43Speaker 1: expect him to be seventeen to twenty six two one
- 3:46Speaker 1: and thirty yards one tedy one interception, very you know,
- 3:51Speaker 1: just average right there, like good, good enough to win
- 3:54Speaker 1: games exactly. I mean, he's not gonna hurt you, but
- 3:57Speaker 1: he for the most part he did. Okay, rand and
- 3:59Speaker 1: I let all verse ninety one yards on three receptions.
- 4:02Speaker 1: The game was kind of close. It was fourteen to
- 4:04Speaker 1: fourteen and a half and it's the forty nine ers
- 4:07Speaker 1: in the third quarter went scoring twice in twenty two seconds.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Samuel capped off the first drive with three yard touchdown
- 4:13Speaker 1: as ziz alsha Year got an interception. On the next
- 4:16Speaker 1: play from scrimmage, Mitchell ran in for a touchdown, so
- 4:20Speaker 1: they kind of turned the game in that span. The
- 4:22Speaker 1: Niners were pretty much in control the rest of the way.
- 4:25Speaker 1: They did have an opportunity to dice the game with
- 4:27Speaker 1: Robbie Goulddiegal. He missed it. Minnesota drive down the length
- 4:30Speaker 1: of the field, got to the San Francisco thirty eight
- 4:32Speaker 1: yard line before turning it over and down sealing the deal.
- 4:35Speaker 1: The Niners crushed it in time possession thirty seven minutes
- 4:39Speaker 1: to twenty three for the Vikings. Kirk Cousins was okay,
- 4:42Speaker 1: twenty and thirty two, two thirty eight, two tities, one interception.
- 4:46Speaker 1: More importantly, for the forty nine Ers, that win put
- 4:48Speaker 1: him into the sixth playoff spot in the NFC bump.
- 4:52Speaker 1: But let's look at these head to head numbers here.
- 4:54Speaker 1: What have you seen from these forty nine ers since
- 4:56Speaker 1: the last time the Seahawks played he Hawks and the
- 4:59Speaker 1: forty nine is Obviously, the Hawks are three and eight.
- 5:01Speaker 1: The forty nine Ers are riding high at six and five.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Total offense, the Hawks are thirty first in the league,
- 5:06Speaker 1: something that we're not used to seeing. The Niners are twelve.
- 5:09Speaker 1: We talk about them running the football. I think that's
- 5:11Speaker 1: a big reason why. Rush offense, the Hawks are twenty
- 5:14Speaker 1: fifth and the forty Niners are six. Pass offensive Hawks
- 5:17Speaker 1: are twenty six the forty Niners or sixteenth. And points
- 5:20Speaker 1: per game the Hawks are scoring nineteen nine is twenty
- 5:23Speaker 1: fifth and the forty nine Ers are scoring twenty five.
- 5:26Speaker 1: When it comes to this defense, I think that's kind
- 5:27Speaker 1: of the big difference. It's number might mess with you
- 5:29Speaker 1: a little bit. Total defensive Hawks are thirty second, but
- 5:32Speaker 1: we know they've been playing well. The forty nine ers
- 5:34Speaker 1: are six against the run. The Hawks are twenty third,
- 5:36Speaker 1: allowing one hundred and twenty four yards per game. The
- 5:39Speaker 1: forty Niners or fourteenth to line one one hundred and
- 5:42Speaker 1: eleven pass defense Hawks thirty first, and the forty nine
- 5:46Speaker 1: Ers are six. This is where and how the Hawks
- 5:50Speaker 1: standing game points allowed. The Hawks are tied for six
- 5:53Speaker 1: allowing twenty points per game and the forty nine Ers
- 5:56Speaker 1: are eleventh, allowing twenty two points per game. In receptions,
- 6:00Speaker 1: both these teams have struggled to take the ball out
- 6:02Speaker 1: the air when you look at other teams in the league.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Both teams have five interceptions. You look at that penalties,
- 6:09Speaker 1: Hawks one of the least least penalized team in league
- 6:12Speaker 1: honestly with fifty nine and the forty nine Ers at
- 6:15Speaker 1: sixty three. Think about this game is you just never
- 6:18Speaker 1: really know we're gonna get into this. Know your history,
- 6:21Speaker 1: but you know when this game goes down, it can
- 6:24Speaker 1: go either way. Russell has had a lot of success
- 6:27Speaker 1: against this against this team. Break it down, force nas
- 6:29Speaker 1: No your history, No, your history, Yeah you mentioned it. Bump.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Seattle leads the all time series twenty nine to seventeen.
- 6:37Speaker 1: One to know in the postseason everyone knows what that
- 6:39Speaker 1: game was. Russell Wilson, though, man a ton of success
- 6:43Speaker 1: against these forty nine ers fifteen and four in his career,
- 6:46Speaker 1: won the last three matchups. So that's dominant. I mean
- 6:49Speaker 1: that is I don't care how you say that is.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That is impressive. Russell Wilson has dominated this matchup against
- 6:55Speaker 1: the forty nine ers. Last time the Seahawks played, the
- 6:57Speaker 1: Seahawks went down at Santa Clair on October three, beat
- 7:00Speaker 1: the Niners twenty eight to twenty one, and the Seahawks were,
- 7:04Speaker 1: you know, they came off back to back lawsons and
- 7:06Speaker 1: gets the Titans and Vikings just kind of got them
- 7:08Speaker 1: back to center and proved a two and two on
- 7:11Speaker 1: the year. They had to overcome those so start they
- 7:14Speaker 1: gave up an eighty eight play seventy one yard touchdown
- 7:17Speaker 1: drive to the forty nine Ers on the opening possession
- 7:19Speaker 1: and then went three and out five straight possessions to
- 7:21Speaker 1: start that game. But in the second quarter things kind
- 7:24Speaker 1: of started to change for the Seahawks. That put it
- 7:26Speaker 1: together a drive six plays eighty yards ending in a
- 7:29Speaker 1: dk Metcalf twelve yard touchdown. Quandre Diggs got the first
- 7:32Speaker 1: interception of the year at the time picking off Jimmy
- 7:35Speaker 1: g and then a third quarter that's when Russ really
- 7:37Speaker 1: started cooking Man. Russ led him on a seven play
- 7:40Speaker 1: sixty six yard drive. Any when the sixteen yard touchdown
- 7:42Speaker 1: run by Wilson if you remember that crazy run, plus
- 7:46Speaker 1: right after that the forty nine Ers fumbled the ensuing kickoff.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Seahawks were covered in two plays later, Russell showed that
- 7:51Speaker 1: he still got it man crazy will to laugh escape
- 7:55Speaker 1: the fumbles or a strip sack spun around, found Freddy
- 7:58Speaker 1: Swain in the end zone for a thirteen yard touchdown,
- 8:01Speaker 1: put the Seahawks up fourteen points, and that essentially kind
- 8:03Speaker 1: of sealed the deal for that The forty nine Ers
- 8:06Speaker 1: really a lot of times with Jimmy Ge. He got
- 8:08Speaker 1: hurt his calf during that game, so he was pulled.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Trey Lance came in and played most of that second half,
- 8:14Speaker 1: but Russell didn't. He didn't light the world on fire
- 8:17Speaker 1: in terms of stats, but he was efficient in sixteen
- 8:20Speaker 1: to twenty three one hundred forty nine yards two touchdown.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Also ran for a Teddy dk metcalf sixty five yards
- 8:27Speaker 1: one touchdown. Alex Collins got his feet wet for the
- 8:29Speaker 1: first time this year forty four yards and one touchdown
- 8:32Speaker 1: on that and Quandre Dicks, who's been solid all season long,
- 8:35Speaker 1: seven tackles, two pass defended, one interception, So if anything bumped,
- 8:39Speaker 1: the Seahawks know these guys, they know the Seahawks. Pete
- 8:42Speaker 1: Carroll know what Kyle Shanahan's about, what he wants to
- 8:44Speaker 1: do offensively, vice versa, the same thing with Kyle Shanahan
- 8:47Speaker 1: and the Seahawks. Seahawks had been fortunate to be pretty
- 8:50Speaker 1: successful against the San Francisco forty nine Ers, and the
- 8:54Speaker 1: Niners were playing good football. So it's gonna be a
- 8:55Speaker 1: tough matchup. But I feel confident in the front that
- 8:58Speaker 1: the Seahawks nowhere they're getting into. The real thing is
- 9:02Speaker 1: what they can do when we get into matchups later on.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But let's check in on the rest of the NEC West.
- 9:07Speaker 1: What's the word the Seahawks or the NFC West champs again,
- 9:16Speaker 1: what's the word in the West? On Hot Talk? What's
- 9:22Speaker 1: the word? Arizona Corners are nine in two. That is
- 9:25Speaker 1: the best record in the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams
- 9:28Speaker 1: are right behind them at seven to four, and the
- 9:30Speaker 1: forty nine is are six and five. Seattles at the
- 9:32Speaker 1: bottom of the division at three and eight. Last week,
- 9:36Speaker 1: the Rams played the Packers. The Rams started the season
- 9:39Speaker 1: seven to one, but then they've really struggled the past
- 9:41Speaker 1: couple of games. Last three games, they've lost all three
- 9:43Speaker 1: of them. Something that stands out is Matthew Stafford is
- 9:46Speaker 1: not taking care of the football like he used to.
- 9:47Speaker 1: He's been intercepted five times, two of those going for touchdowns,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and has lost one fumble. Prior to that, he only
- 9:53Speaker 1: throw four interceptions in eight games now. The show down
- 9:56Speaker 1: against the Packers was really competitive to start. After falling
- 9:58Speaker 1: behind ten to zero, the Rams answered with a seventy
- 10:02Speaker 1: nine yard bomb to Van Jefferson. The teams with then
- 10:05Speaker 1: trade field goals and touchdowns and went to halftime twenty
- 10:08Speaker 1: to seventeen. But in the third quarter it was all
- 10:11Speaker 1: about the Packers. They scored seventeen straight points, extending their
- 10:14Speaker 1: lead to thirty six to seventeen. Odell Beckham caught his
- 10:18Speaker 1: first touchdown of the season. It was a fifty four
- 10:20Speaker 1: yard pass from Matthew Stafford. It was a slanting go
- 10:23Speaker 1: He hit the slam, put his head down, started digging
- 10:26Speaker 1: finds him over the top. He finished the day with
- 10:28Speaker 1: five receptions and eighty one yards one touchdown. Cooper cub
- 10:31Speaker 1: does what he does seven receptions in ninety six yards.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Stafford finished the day going twenty one to thirty eight,
- 10:36Speaker 1: three hundred and two yards, three touchdowns and one interceptions.
- 10:39Speaker 1: The ram will most likely get back on track this
- 10:42Speaker 1: week because they're playing the team that people love to play,
- 10:45Speaker 1: the Jacksonville Jaguars. Even though the Jack's got a couple
- 10:48Speaker 1: good wins, you would expect the Rams to get this done. Yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you mentioned it, Stafford. That's shocking at he's not taking
- 10:54Speaker 1: care of the football. Five touchdowns and shoot in three games,
- 10:56Speaker 1: two of them are turning for touchdowns. So that's kind
- 10:59Speaker 1: of theirs sh right now, they're turning the ball over.
- 11:00Speaker 1: That Vanna defense that we knew all about last year
- 11:03Speaker 1: is not holding teams to where we'd expect them to be.
- 11:06Speaker 1: When they lost to the Titans, I was thinking, man,
- 11:07Speaker 1: the Rams are so lucky either getting the Titans without
- 11:09Speaker 1: Derek Henry, it didn't matter because they were turning the
- 11:11Speaker 1: ball over. Titans get a big win. Forty nine ers
- 11:13Speaker 1: just move the doors off. They couldn't. The Rams could
- 11:15Speaker 1: not stop the run. And then last week the Packers
- 11:18Speaker 1: were in control most of the way. So the Rams.
- 11:20Speaker 1: The Rams are struggling a little bit, and you mentioned
- 11:21Speaker 1: they're probably gonna get right against the Pack or exchieving
- 11:23Speaker 1: against the Jaguars, So we'll keep monitoring that. Cardinals, they're
- 11:27Speaker 1: coming off a bye week. They got the best record
- 11:30Speaker 1: in nashvill football. We'd get nine in two and somehow
- 11:32Speaker 1: survived whole month in November without Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins.
- 11:36Speaker 1: They went two and one in those games. But both
- 11:39Speaker 1: Murray and Hopkins returned to practice today, so we expect
- 11:42Speaker 1: them to be back out there, Bump, But I'll just
- 11:44Speaker 1: quickly look at this playoffs standings like we matched the
- 11:48Speaker 1: Cardinals at nine in two leading the NFC, then balled
- 11:51Speaker 1: by the Packers, Bucks, Cowboys, Rams, Vikings, and Saints hold
- 11:55Speaker 1: down that final playoff spot at five and five, so
- 11:57Speaker 1: it'll be interesting, Bump. The Seahawks are not in intention
- 12:00Speaker 1: at the moment. They're only two and a half out. Well,
- 12:02Speaker 1: obviously a lot of teams should jump to get to
- 12:04Speaker 1: that point, but right now, it's all about the Seahawks
- 12:06Speaker 1: winning one game. It's about taking care of who's in
- 12:09Speaker 1: front of you, and those guys are the San Francisco
- 12:12Speaker 1: forty nine Ers. Let's take a look at these matchups.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Who is this man up? Un Hawk Talk. First matchup,
- 12:27Speaker 1: Jimmy g versus Seahawks defense. On the year, Jimmy is
- 12:30Speaker 1: one eighty seven for two eighty for two thousand, three
- 12:33Speaker 1: hundred forty two yards, three touchdown and six interceptions. He's
- 12:37Speaker 1: been sacked eighteen times. He also has thirty carries for
- 12:40Speaker 1: forty yards and has three rushing touchdowns. At this point,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I think it's pretty clear who Jimmy is. All right.
- 12:46Speaker 1: He's gonna complete around sixty seven percent of his passes.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It's gonna work the middle of the field. He's prone
- 12:50Speaker 1: for an occasionally turnover, but he usually does just enough
- 12:53Speaker 1: for the forty nine Ers two win ball games. He's
- 12:56Speaker 1: not gonna do anything Spectacler. He's not gonna have the
- 12:59Speaker 1: Vince's Russell Russell Wilson plays. He's gonna do just enough.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Jimmy G is one in four against the Seahawks. He's
- 13:05Speaker 1: also been hurt two of those games. In the week
- 13:08Speaker 1: four lost, Jimmy when fourteen to twenty three und sixty five,
- 13:11Speaker 1: one touchdown in one interception. Defensively, the Seahawks are still
- 13:15Speaker 1: near the bottom of the league in most categories, thirty
- 13:17Speaker 1: second in total defense, thirty first against the past. However,
- 13:22Speaker 1: they have been really good on the scoreboard. That is
- 13:24Speaker 1: what we're banking on. The Hawks are tied for six
- 13:26Speaker 1: in the NFL and points allowed, giving up twenty points
- 13:29Speaker 1: per game, only allowed twenty six points or more three
- 13:33Speaker 1: times this year. Contain Jimmy, allow him to be who
- 13:37Speaker 1: he is. Don't give up any explosive plays. These dudes
- 13:40Speaker 1: got a shot absolutely in Palm Moyer. If he was listening,
- 13:43Speaker 1: he would say the exact same thing. You gotta make
- 13:45Speaker 1: Jimmy get the ball outside. You gotta make Jimmy throw
- 13:49Speaker 1: the ball outside of the numbers because he works in
- 13:51Speaker 1: the middle of the field. That's what he does. He's
- 13:54Speaker 1: not a big bomb guy. No one would ever compare
- 13:56Speaker 1: his deep ball to Russell Wilson or anything like that.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But he's efficient. He does just enough to keep his
- 14:01Speaker 1: teams in games. So, like you mentioned, we know who
- 14:03Speaker 1: Jimmy g is. It's now if the Seahawks can exploit that. Right,
- 14:08Speaker 1: They've had enough games against Jimmy Garoppolo. He can't have
- 14:10Speaker 1: a day where he's thrown for three hundred plus and
- 14:13Speaker 1: the running backs and everyone else is getting busy, So
- 14:14Speaker 1: try to keep Jimmy g in check there now, Bump
- 14:18Speaker 1: this matchup. I mean, we could spend our whole show
- 14:20Speaker 1: talking about this matchup right here. In my opinion, this
- 14:23Speaker 1: is the biggest matchup of the game, and this is
- 14:24Speaker 1: where the game will be decided. It's the forty down
- 14:27Speaker 1: running backs first at Seahawks front seven. The forty nine
- 14:30Speaker 1: ers do one thing extremely well, like we mentioned earlier,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and it's running the football. There's six in the NFL
- 14:35Speaker 1: and rushing averaging one hundred and thirty yards per game, however,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and there's three game win streak though they're averaging one
- 14:41Speaker 1: hundred and seventy eight yards per game. Against Minnesota thirty
- 14:45Speaker 1: nine carries two hundred and five yards three touchdowns against
- 14:48Speaker 1: Jacksonville forty two carries one hundred and seventy one yards
- 14:52Speaker 1: one touchdown, verse the Rams forty four carries one hundred
- 14:55Speaker 1: and fifty six yards in one touchdown and Bump. Honestly,
- 15:00Speaker 1: when I look at them, it doesn't even to me,
- 15:01Speaker 1: feels like it doesn't even really matter who's running the ball.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Whoever they line up back there seems to have success.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Whether it was Moster before he got hurt, whether it's
- 15:09Speaker 1: Mitchell or Deep, whoever they put back their bump is
- 15:11Speaker 1: running the football. And this is gonna be a huge
- 15:13Speaker 1: matchup to see where the Seahawks if they're gonna show
- 15:17Speaker 1: up in this category of the game, because the Rams
- 15:19Speaker 1: go are achieve me the forty nine ers the last
- 15:21Speaker 1: three weeks. Everyone knows what they want to do, but
- 15:22Speaker 1: they're still able to do it. When you're running the
- 15:24Speaker 1: ball forty two times, forty four times, thirty nine times,
- 15:28Speaker 1: that means you're having success despite the other team knowing
- 15:30Speaker 1: what you want to do. So this is gonna be
- 15:32Speaker 1: a huge matchup for me. It's respectful running at forty
- 15:35Speaker 1: four times not being able to stop it for a defense,
- 15:38Speaker 1: that has to be frustrating. So this, you know, if
- 15:41Speaker 1: I'm a Seahawks defender, I know what's gonna happen. I
- 15:43Speaker 1: know what's going damn. You got to put your big
- 15:44Speaker 1: boy pads on, feel your gaps and make open field
- 15:47Speaker 1: tackles because they're going to one to run that rout
- 15:49Speaker 1: the next matchup Seahawks back seven. That's the DB's and
- 15:53Speaker 1: the LB's versus brand and I you George Kittle and
- 15:55Speaker 1: Kyle You shit, the Seahaws are really catching a break
- 15:58Speaker 1: with deep Little saying you man, he's not gonna play
- 16:00Speaker 1: this week. Not only has he emerged in the run
- 16:01Speaker 1: get in the past three weeks, he is one of
- 16:04Speaker 1: the leading receivers in the league. He has fifty six
- 16:06Speaker 1: receptions for a thousand yards and five touchdowns. He's a
- 16:09Speaker 1: home run hitter. When he has a football in his hand,
- 16:11Speaker 1: it feels like he can take it to the house
- 16:13Speaker 1: every single time. Deebo is dangerous. You not have to
- 16:17Speaker 1: deal You don't have to deal with that this week.
- 16:18Speaker 1: So good for the Hawks, but brend and i Egu
- 16:20Speaker 1: will still be there. He has thirty two receptions for
- 16:22Speaker 1: four hundred thirty two yards and three touchdowns. His numbers
- 16:25Speaker 1: aren't crazy, but he also has potential. George Kittle one
- 16:29Speaker 1: of the best tight ends in the league. Thirty five receptions,
- 16:31Speaker 1: four twenty five yards and three touchdowns. Now he can block,
- 16:36Speaker 1: he can catch the run after the catch is grave.
- 16:39Speaker 1: He does everything you want you're tight end to do.
- 16:42Speaker 1: If you see eighty five out there, you better recognize
- 16:45Speaker 1: where he is and get hands on them right now.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Kyle's uschek. Yeah, he is He's a dying breed in
- 16:50Speaker 1: this league. He's a dying breed. He plays a fullback position.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Not a lot of teams are using these guys these days,
- 16:55Speaker 1: but he finds ways to be productive. He has twenty
- 16:58Speaker 1: one receptions for two hundred ten yards and one touchdown.
- 17:01Speaker 1: They got some playmakers over there for the forty nine ers,
- 17:03Speaker 1: no question about it, and you hit on it. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: think this is another huge thing that Deebo Samuel was
- 17:08Speaker 1: not going to play right, Debo. He's a fourth leading
- 17:11Speaker 1: receiver in the National Football League, and the last three
- 17:13Speaker 1: weeks Stave said, hey, you can run the football too,
- 17:15Speaker 1: Let's put your back there. He has twenty five carries
- 17:18Speaker 1: for two hundred and three yards in five touchdowns, when
- 17:21Speaker 1: hundred and eighty nine of the yards have come the
- 17:23Speaker 1: last three games. He's averaging eight point one yards to
- 17:26Speaker 1: carry when he's running the football. We know where he
- 17:28Speaker 1: came he as a pass catcher. So that's enormous for
- 17:31Speaker 1: the Seahawks. That is you never wish ellen anybody, Debo.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Heal up as quick as you can. I'm not sad
- 17:36Speaker 1: that you're not healthy against the Seahawks on Sunday. And
- 17:40Speaker 1: the other thing Kittle and use check Kittle every single
- 17:44Speaker 1: time I put the film on. Every single time I
- 17:46Speaker 1: put the film on, I'm looking at eighty five and
- 17:49Speaker 1: he's driving somebody into the ground. He's making a move
- 17:52Speaker 1: on a reception, and he's getting to the second level.
- 17:55Speaker 1: He's taking linebackers, a defensive lineman and putting him in
- 17:58Speaker 1: the ground. He is We've said it on this show
- 18:01Speaker 1: for two years, three years now. He's the best tight
- 18:03Speaker 1: end the Nashal Football League. Kelsey's gonna get all the yards.
- 18:06Speaker 1: There's obviously a lot of great tight ends out there,
- 18:08Speaker 1: but the premier tight end, if you could sketch one
- 18:11Speaker 1: out or like this is what I want my tighten
- 18:13Speaker 1: to look like and to do it would be George Kittle.
- 18:15Speaker 1: He is an unbelievable football player, and he's a guy
- 18:18Speaker 1: that that front seven they heads up and there that's
- 18:22Speaker 1: Bens Maoa, Carlos Dunn, Lad Jordan Brooks, whoever's out there. Bobby,
- 18:25Speaker 1: you need to be you need to bring it. Essentially,
- 18:27Speaker 1: you gotta bring your lunch fail because he can go.
- 18:30Speaker 1: He might be the most elusive tight end I've ever
- 18:32Speaker 1: seen with the ball in his hands. I'm sitting here
- 18:34Speaker 1: trying to think about, Okay, who has wiggle like George
- 18:37Speaker 1: Kittle with the football, and he's saying at the tight
- 18:39Speaker 1: end spot, I can't think of any like he's He's
- 18:42Speaker 1: the new age tight end. This is what we're gonna
- 18:44Speaker 1: start seeing these next few years, a bunch of George
- 18:46Speaker 1: Kittles in this league. He's changing the game. Yeah, because
- 18:49Speaker 1: when you think about tight ends over like Kelsey's great,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and he's he's a great receiving tight end. He gets
- 18:54Speaker 1: open runs, good routes. He's not he's not like joking guys.
- 18:58Speaker 1: He's not breaking tackles the same way. And you think,
- 19:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's hard to even think even across the time,
- 19:03Speaker 1: whether it's the Tony Gonzalez of the world or the
- 19:05Speaker 1: Antonio Gates just not the same. Kittos is built different, man,
- 19:09Speaker 1: He's just built different because he can do both and
- 19:11Speaker 1: he's physical. And I think you're right. When I think
- 19:13Speaker 1: of George Kittle, I think it was two years ago
- 19:15Speaker 1: They're playing the Saints and he had that crazy run
- 19:17Speaker 1: where he's throwing people left and right. They're pulling his
- 19:20Speaker 1: face mask, ripping his face. Matc Off got four guys
- 19:22Speaker 1: carrying him on his back. Duds. A baller. Dude is
- 19:25Speaker 1: a ball right his hope he doesn't ball out on Sunday,
- 19:28Speaker 1: another match up. I want to take a look at
- 19:30Speaker 1: his Nick Bosa and Dwayne Brown. So Dwayne Brown og
- 19:34Speaker 1: been doing it for a long time in this game.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Been playing good football for the Seahawks, especially as of late.
- 19:39Speaker 1: But the fourteen year Vet's going to have his hands
- 19:41Speaker 1: full with Bosa. Bosa is tied for fourth in the
- 19:44Speaker 1: NFL with eleven sacks, thirty six tackles, two forced fumbles,
- 19:48Speaker 1: one pass defended, sixteen one six tackles for loss. This
- 19:53Speaker 1: dude is a maniac who will make life living hell
- 19:56Speaker 1: for quarterbacks and offensive lineman in the Seahawks. It's got
- 20:00Speaker 1: to contain him to have any kind of shot because
- 20:02Speaker 1: no one is going to mess up a game quicker
- 20:04Speaker 1: on that defense than Nick Bosa. Nick Bosa is a
- 20:10Speaker 1: powerful and intense football player. When you look at that
- 20:14Speaker 1: defensive line, every team would love a Nick Bosa is
- 20:18Speaker 1: in his jeens. He's got brothers who do it as well.
- 20:21Speaker 1: He I mean, he's just he's just a ball player.
- 20:23Speaker 1: When you say the term like football player, like this
- 20:25Speaker 1: guy's just a football player. Nick Bolsa fits under that category.
- 20:28Speaker 1: That's a budget of things well and it's just super intense.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Nick Bolsa is gonna be a tough onness. Yeah, no question.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And you mentioned football players. The forty nine ers have
- 20:37Speaker 1: three football players Kittle, Use Check Bosa. They all fit
- 20:42Speaker 1: into that and something nice for the Seahawks. Again, Fred
- 20:45Speaker 1: Warner is another one of those dudes, but he's also
- 20:47Speaker 1: going to be out. And Warner leaves a team and
- 20:49Speaker 1: tackles ninety two four TFLs, three passes, defending two fumble recoveries.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So they got guys that want to be physical and
- 20:55Speaker 1: they want to play the game the right way in
- 20:57Speaker 1: terms of just that dynamic like you know, physical tackling,
- 21:02Speaker 1: playing within the rules. Those guys they got good football players.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So this will be a tough matchup for the Seahawks.
- 21:06Speaker 1: But good thing for the Seahawks. They got some dudes too.
- 21:09Speaker 1: They just need to play to their level that they're
- 21:11Speaker 1: at cable above and this is gonna be a great matchup. Now, Bump,
- 21:14Speaker 1: I put this last one on here. Seahawks offense first themselves.
- 21:19Speaker 1: In my opinion, they have what they have, the tools,
- 21:22Speaker 1: they have everything they need. They have the coaches. They
- 21:25Speaker 1: just need to get out of their own way. Bump.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Tell me, we've had this conversation, I feel like a
- 21:29Speaker 1: lot in recent weeks, and we've seen little glimpses. If
- 21:33Speaker 1: you could pick one thing for the Seahawks offense, what
- 21:36Speaker 1: would that be that you want to see fixed going
- 21:38Speaker 1: into this weekend game against the fort nine Ers. One
- 21:41Speaker 1: thing you already know it third downs, Baby, you gotta
- 21:44Speaker 1: convert on third downs. The Seahawks have forty three three
- 21:48Speaker 1: and outs in one hundred and twenty two drives third downs.
- 21:51Speaker 1: That has been a major issue. They're nine of sixty
- 21:54Speaker 1: and third downs on third and seven or more, nine
- 21:57Speaker 1: of sixty third and seven or more. So you pretty
- 21:59Speaker 1: much saying, look, get these guys in third and seven.
- 22:01Speaker 1: You got a chance for them to put the ball
- 22:03Speaker 1: on the flip. They are thirty two point five percent
- 22:05Speaker 1: on third downs on the year, thirty nine up twenty.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Third downs have just been huge. If you want to
- 22:10Speaker 1: be successful offense, you gotta be able to move the
- 22:12Speaker 1: ball and have sustain long drives. If you don't convert
- 22:16Speaker 1: third downs, those long drives will never happen. Yeah, absolutely,
- 22:20Speaker 1: And I think I think it's it's got to be
- 22:24Speaker 1: about them. You know, I think every team when you
- 22:26Speaker 1: talk about obviously they're gonna watch an unbelieva about of film.
- 22:29Speaker 1: They're gonna prepare. Everyone in this building is doing that.
- 22:32Speaker 1: But sometimes it's about you. Sometimes it's not you, it's me. No,
- 22:35Speaker 1: sometimes it's really about me. Right, if we got to
- 22:38Speaker 1: look within, and I think because they're they have the
- 22:41Speaker 1: talent on this roster and this coaching staff, they can
- 22:43Speaker 1: get that done. They just need to stop hurting themselves.
- 22:46Speaker 1: It's always something that breaks down that sets stuff up,
- 22:49Speaker 1: whether it's missing an open guy or the wrong route,
- 22:51Speaker 1: or dropping a ball or a miss something missed in protection,
- 22:55Speaker 1: things like that. I think if they can get out
- 22:56Speaker 1: of their own way and do what they do best
- 22:58Speaker 1: and figure out what that is and then try to
- 23:00Speaker 1: do that consistently, they can do it. We know you
- 23:03Speaker 1: got DK Metcalf, You get Tyler Lockett, You know you
- 23:07Speaker 1: got guys and get the ball to Joel Levitt, get
- 23:10Speaker 1: the Joel LeVert is a beast man. Get in the ball.
- 23:13Speaker 1: There's guys out there, Dwayne Brown, it's there. They just
- 23:15Speaker 1: need to get out of their own way and find
- 23:17Speaker 1: a rhythm. Find a rhythm. It's really hard to find
- 23:21Speaker 1: a rhythm when you're on the field for three plays
- 23:23Speaker 1: or when you run, you know, under sixty plays. As
- 23:26Speaker 1: an offense, there's no way you can get into rhythm.
- 23:28Speaker 1: So to your point, third downs, figuring out a way
- 23:30Speaker 1: to stay on the field. I think that'll really help
- 23:32Speaker 1: the Seahawks offense because they're gonna need it because the
- 23:34Speaker 1: forty nine ers are playing good football. Get your ballers
- 23:38Speaker 1: the football be great on third downs. You have a
- 23:40Speaker 1: chance to win ball games. Here is the path to victory.
- 23:45Speaker 1: At the forty five waits for the snaff, Michael Dickson
- 23:48Speaker 1: puts it down. That kick is away. If that kick
- 23:51Speaker 1: is gone, it's gone. It's a path to victory. On
- 23:57Speaker 1: Hawk Talk, I mean pretty much what we just say,
- 24:00Speaker 1: get out of your own way, all right, and you
- 24:02Speaker 1: have to win time of possession. Don't even win it,
- 24:05Speaker 1: but let's keep it close. Last week it was eighteen
- 24:07Speaker 1: minutes to forty one minutes. I believe with the Wahington
- 24:09Speaker 1: football team, just hold the ball, keep the ball in
- 24:12Speaker 1: your hands, and let this defense rest on the sidelines.
- 24:14Speaker 1: On defense, you have to get off the field. Now
- 24:17Speaker 1: they've been playing well, right, they're not They're allowing teams
- 24:20Speaker 1: only about twenty points per game. But if they are
- 24:23Speaker 1: out there for fifteen play drive sixteen play drives, eventually
- 24:27Speaker 1: they're gonna get tired. So possess the ball. Defense, get
- 24:30Speaker 1: your butt off the field and offense, get out of
- 24:33Speaker 1: your own way. You want to help with time possession bump,
- 24:36Speaker 1: Then you gotta stop the run. The forty nine ers
- 24:39Speaker 1: are not playing when it comes to run. They're gonna
- 24:41Speaker 1: tell you, hey, we're gonna line up, We're gonna run
- 24:42Speaker 1: this thing forty times. Are you gonna stop it? Just
- 24:45Speaker 1: straight up? Are you gonna stop it? In? The Seahawks
- 24:48Speaker 1: last week gave up their first hundred yard rusher since
- 24:50Speaker 1: Week three. Antonia Gibson had one hundred and eleven yards
- 24:53Speaker 1: last week, So the Seahawks are need to bring their
- 24:55Speaker 1: lunch bails and be able to stop that run. Otherwise
- 24:57Speaker 1: this can get ugly. The best way to adjusting time
- 25:00Speaker 1: possession is getting off the football field and the other thing.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Man make plays. Just need to make plays like you
- 25:07Speaker 1: love seeing things. Last week, you love seeing Jamal get
- 25:09Speaker 1: a pick because people are in the right spot. You'll
- 25:11Speaker 1: see Freddy Sway make a big play. Love to see
- 25:14Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett making a play. It's all about play. Your
- 25:17Speaker 1: best players need to make big plays and we need
- 25:20Speaker 1: game changing plays on both sides of the ball. That's
- 25:22Speaker 1: taking the ball away. That's Dale Taylor getting sacks right,
- 25:25Speaker 1: that's Jordan Brooks stopping the screen. That Sidney Jones keeping
- 25:29Speaker 1: guys in front and breaking up passes. That DJ Read
- 25:31Speaker 1: doing his job. You know, so I just need to
- 25:33Speaker 1: see more plays, more game changing plays from the Seahawks playmakers.
- 25:37Speaker 1: You gotta take care of the house, take care of
- 25:40Speaker 1: home field. The Seahawks are one and four at Loumenfield
- 25:42Speaker 1: this year. That is just not good enough. And you
- 25:44Speaker 1: gotta play with some pride. The season is not going
- 25:47Speaker 1: the way you thought it would go it this isn't
- 25:50Speaker 1: but this is where we are. Play with some pride.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Still makes some noise. Remember who you are and who
- 25:55Speaker 1: was on this football team. Still enough to go out
- 25:58Speaker 1: and win ball games. A bump, find a way to
- 26:01Speaker 1: go one and oh reminder, guys, who can catch us anywhere.

- 26:31Speaker 1: been looking for it. I feel like this is it.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I'm speaking into existence. Seahawks go one in O this
- 26:36Speaker 1: week and I feel like they just need one. Just
- 26:39Speaker 1: give me one and thinks in turn, thinks in turn,
- 26:41Speaker 1: But find a way to go one and know at home,
- 26:42Speaker 1: protect the house. Come on now, need you got to
- 26:45Speaker 1: show to Lumanfield? Ready to go? This has been Hot
- 26:48Speaker 1: Talk Preview edition Week thirteen. The Seahawks are playing the
- 26:52Speaker 1: forty nine ers, still looking to bounce back. Keep believing.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I'm Michael Bumps, he is NASA Choby. Thanks for chilling
- 26:57Speaker 1: with us.
