Former Cop Charged After Brutal Detention | Mesa News
A former San Carlos Apache police officer, Jacob Slawson, 29, is facing serious federal charges after allegedly punching a detained suspect unconscious during a chase, then dragging him from the patrol car—causing a fatal head injury. Slawson also reportedly tampered with a detective’s report to obstruct the investigation. The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs are now involved, and he’s been indicted on deprivation of rights and falsification of records charges, carrying up to 30 years if convicted.
