And it's your favorite time of the week. It's football recap college football week four. In the books already? Man, we're already four weeks. A quarter of the way through. That's crazy. Woo! Time is flying, but a great season too. Great season so far. But I mean, we're gonna talk about that. Of course, housekeeping things as well. Why to give Of course, always support to our viewers. But yeah, a little couple of house games before football. I do want to give a shout to volleyball since conference play also started for them this past week. So volleyball action, we'll be able to talk about that sooner or later. But shout out to all the volleyball teams that participate. Texas State I believe went what in what in conference play. They docked Colorado State looks like a chugger not. They should they are awesome. They were the projected favorites by quite a little bit and they showed why. Tech sweeping Texas State after Texas State had swept Utah State, so it is what it is. And so that shout out volleyball and a couple other housekeeping things want to throw it over to Brett real quick for that. So a lot of hate on X dot com, the Everything app, this weekend. so what I hate more than anything, and I understand that like we have a a show where like we're kind of encouraged to do that. I hate overreactions. And I'm guilty of it too. Listen, I as a sports fan, you you can't help yourself but overreact. By by two PM Saturday, seeing all the tweets about and listen, y'all are safe now, but I have a list now. I have a little pocket notebook that I'm gonna write I'm gonna start writing everything down and once it's ink, it's permanent. So if I see any more h talk about ⁓ the Pac twelve sucks, the pack twelve this this com this conference sinks are the fifth best, when we're two games in and the only example you really have to show for it is San Diego State at Toledo. Missing two of their star running backs and half their defense. Like give me a give me a break. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to give me a f I didn't see all this hate, so I was wondering where you were going. No, I did see. It was it was literally ⁓ it was actually like getting getting to me. 'Cause I was just like you t like Colorado State UTSA was they were putting up a a ⁓ shootout. And like twelve slog, pack twelve slog and and then not only that, we got Texas State who put sixty on an FCS opponent, Boise and Embarrassed Western Michigan. Washington State held in with Arizona. Utah State got their first win. Oregon State keep doing what they're doing. And Fresno figured it out. What the fuck are you talking about? This conference sucks. This is probably one of the best weeks this conference has had in its existence. Like this is true. It just happens to include a loss to a Mac team, so people will focus on that. But it But even then the bet the Packs will beat a better Mac team the same weekends and and we'll and we'll get to it in the next Mac team. Yeah, it we'll get to it like in the recap and stuff, but like again, like just the overreaction right off the bat just that I was seeing was just so upsetting. And then and then like they quickly to take it back, ⁓ like ⁓ man that was like it's like no like stand on your stand on your shit. Like stand on business. Stand on business like there you go Brett. But fire me up. But man, y'all have seen a side of Brett I didn't know existed. This is Brett after a Mike's hard lemonade. This is Brett ⁓ I just i it it literally I just couldn't believe it. Like I just th how fast people who I like thought were super in on this conference just turn on it the second like something went wrong. You know, like that it's embarrassing like I don't know. I'm sorry. That it's it's literally not that big of a deal at all and I'm it's nothing to be upset about as I am, but well that's all I got on. You can look at all these different type of numbers and mathematical equations and stuff, which people do. And it ranks conferences and all this sort of stuff. And the Pac twelve is at the top of most, if not all, of those, right? I'm not big into like I do love numbers, but like I'm not gonna look at it too much. I'm gonna watch the football being played and just let it play out. But yeah, the Pac twelve is very good. It it's very top heavy right now, and that top is Boise State, but they're also ranked. So Yes, sir. And we're gonna we could talk about that right now. Boise State AP poll came out earlier today. And Boise State, I believe twenty two. Twenty two. Twenty two at the A P poll. I believe when conference play starts like week seven ish is when we start getting committee polls. But hopefully they remain there. But shout out to Boise State. Well deserved. Well deserved. Finally. ⁓ honestly too little too late. Like I'm glad they're finally ranked, but it's it like I said, it's it should have been much sooner than A part of me is like kinda happy they waited 'cause I know the com not the committee, I'm sorry. The A P poll was ⁓ giving some votes for Western Michigan and I think this game Whoever would have won that game would have been ranked. I agree with that. Let's talk about Boyd's non-con schedule. They put together actually a really good non-con and it paid off for them getting ranked, I think. And even that loss to Oregon, yeah, was was was actually like a the biggest win on their schedule. Also, Dylan Rayola. Hold on now. They lose to Oregon by what, seven, then they have their way with Memphis. ⁓ they get over an FCS South Dakota, which is actually a really good FCS team. The Dakotas are very good. That's consistently two states who put up good FCS teams. Now North Dakota and the F S. Who's also in that group of six spot contention, you know, with their ⁓ and then Western Michigan who I guess if you looked at this schedule probably before the season started, you'd think ⁓ that's just a mat game. But Western Michigan, you know, they did what they did, received votes, all that stuff, ⁓ got robbed against Michigan and it paid off for Boise and Boise handled ⁓ thirty two to seven. Yeah. Absolutely, like you said, handle them pretty swiftly. So I think that takes care of most of the housekeeping thing. Yep, yep, we're ready to make I mean, yeah, let's talk about the Boise. Yeah, let's just talk about jump right into it. Boise State, like Caden said, went to Kalamazoo, Michigan and took down the Broncos pretty handily, thirty-two to seven. I mean, can't think of much more of a stamina game than this, especially considering the fact that this is the game to get them ranked. No sire gains. No sired gains as well. Yeah. But Boise State put together pretty dominant performance on the road. Maddox Madsen, I'm sorry that I have to get attacked. Still doesn't have a turnover. Still doesn't have so I'm so sorry. Sorry. I'll change. Still doesn't have a turnover this season. Nine touchdowns, zero turnovers. And like like you said, the defense, like it's just a good collective effort against like a very good Mac team who's probably still gonna win the Mac. So Probably. Like you never know. Like don't hang your head too low, Western Michigan fans. Like you as a Michigan fan myself, I'll I'll tip my cap and say that like the record doesn't show up, but you should be three and one. You really should be. That Michigan game should accounted for you. But Man, when you were cheering when that hell marriage Man, I genuinely want to say that I feel like people probably thought we were rage baiting before the season started saying Boise wasn't good. But like we had reasons to like think they might have not been this good, but not. So we were just flat out of The reasons being we're stupid. Yeah, they shut that shit up pretty quickly. It's so hard. That's why the A P poll get so much, you know, looks early in the season because it's it's hard to tell, even for the voters, right? It's hard to tell, so it's easy to like make it seem like it is rage bait, but they're they're very much the best team. Nate has said it, Ryan Leif said it this weekend. ⁓ I just say that because I was listening to them working the game, literally had to. ⁓ and everybody else knows it too. Boise is The front runner and somebody's gotta go get ⁓ They are gonna have the target on their back. Someone at some point in conference play starting this week is gonna give Boise trouble and I just want to know who it is and I can't wait to watch. Yeah. I mean it could be a plethora of teams. We talked about it could be a Utah State, dude. That's what I would really think like low key like Wazoo or Utah State on a good day. Fresno's undefeated against Boise. Wow. They're three and ⁓ or four and ⁓ against Boise. You better jinx it, bro. But you better be watching that. I'll be watching. Listen, I I was late to work today because the like I said, the dogs are barking all night. Yeah, man. That was it, Texas. That Fresno State game didn't end till like 12 30, 1. 1 o'clock. But it was worth it for a year. We sleep in May. I'm sure you sleep in May. But like we said, shout out to Boise. Absolutely handling business, and they're clearly the front runner as of right now. But like you said, conference play, I mean it's here on out. Every team's gonna have that. They're gonna see that target on their back and go out and try to get. I mean, any team that upsets Boise, man, it's it's wide open. Someone's going to, right? It's wide open. Yeah. It's gotta it's just college football. It's gonna happen. Somewhere on their record they will lose. And I I just it I can't I don't know where. I think Caden, like you said, Utah State, like that's it seems like so they obvious that it could happen. They do go to Fresno too. Cool. Don't don't get me excited about that, man. We got a while. And they go to Pullman. All the all the like the trap games are on the road. Yeah. ⁓ wait, Fresno's a couple of weeks. Yeah, that's why I'm saying it's not that not that. Somebody get somebody please buy bread tickets to Fresno. Like they're going to Fort Collins. Why does Boise have so many awake? They do have a lot of awakening. They're going to Fort Collins as well. I mean, they get Texas State at home. They got Oregon State at home. That's a good game. I they got a good mix here, yeah. Well, I'll be honest with you, Boise's the best yada yada. ⁓ but they go to Fort Collins. I'm sorry. I don't really care. They're Gonna run for like three hundred yards if they've got gains and Riley. This is true. Because I mean that can just bring us right into Colorado State. That defense is so bad. Yeah. Unfortunately. Well, you know what? They tackled and played really good. Best game of the weekend. The first couple weeks of the season. ⁓ they just did not have it against UTSA. The only American team to beat a Pac twelve team this year, and they've done it twice in Texas State and Colorado State. Mm-hmm. Final for that one in San Antonio, the Red Runners take down the Rams, fifty nine, two forty five. Colorado State led early, fourteen is zip. I was at work, but I was getting the notifications from my phone. I was like, Whoa, kickoff return already, we're off to a great start. And then I I was told they scored thirty five unanswered. Yep. UTS A? Thirty five unanswered, yep. Wow. I mean what a Mind you, you could have you could have watched the best college football game of the year for like twenty bucks in person. Unfortunately, seventeen thousand people decided to show up for that. So those people got a treat. But that was the game to be to. I thought it was over when it was fourteen to nothing and how dumb am I 'cause it's college football. It's college football, bro. I gonna say the same thing, man. ⁓ but I think Colorado State, the bright side for them that Kassan Ferrar, if I'm saying that right, ⁓ not bad, dude, for a backup quarterback. I I don't know if that first touchdown pass the on that fur like the when they made a fourteen nothing, that nice little flick on that trick play was Insane. I don't know if Haas Haney wins them that game. But I'll stand on that no. But I do like what he would be able to bring in the fourth quarter as opposed to Ferrar. Right. I think it gets a little bit more competitive because they had a really bad offensive drive that one with right before the two minute warning. Right. That offensive drive was really bad. But they also missed defense though, man. Like it's You know what I'm saying? Maybe Haas Haney can't stop fifty-nine points. No, he can't. UTSA ran the ball really well. I still don't think they're gonna win the American or show up in the American championship. I disagree completely, man. I think that's a phenomenal team in San Antonio. No, they suck, man. I You'll never get me to say UTSA is good. But the stat I had, ⁓ because it's interesting, Colorado State ⁓ penalties killed them a lot. Like and also so listening to Jim Morris' press conference too, he started ⁓ off by talking about How like on their f I think it was on one of like their f drives in the first quarter, how the stadium wasn't stopping playing music in time. So like while they were trying to get a like a playoff, like music is just blaring like at times when it's not supposed to be, I guess. So classic roadrunners. So yeah, so mode. So more blamed like the two delay of game penalties on that, ⁓ which they I I guess eventually got it fixed. I don't know. Were you guys watching? This game at all. I was working. I I had eyes on it the whole time and when it was when it became fourteen fourteen, they panned Jim Mora. I don't know who he was screaming at, this poor guy. Like just getting like the life like drained out of him. Jim Mora is like in his face, veins out his neck, as red as can be, like screaming at and I'm assuming it's the coordinator ⁓ or someone on defense, 'cause very sloppy on defense this week. Obviously fifty nine points. They're But there was a lot of times throughout that game too where they were just like UTSA was getting the playoff and they were just not in formation. Yeah. It was it was seriously the most Bush league like defense I've ever seen. And that being said, it was one of the best football games I've ever watched. ⁓ yeah, I know you're a big anti defense guy. I'll push that agenda forever. Yeah, no, go crazy, man. There's multiple ways to enjoy football and and to your point, I mean, yeah, this team, granted, you're on the road, you're playing in San Antonio, but It's not a good sign when your team gives up ⁓ almost double the points that Texas State's defense did against U T S A. And the set I had, very sorry. So eleven penalties for Colorado State. Obviously that made a big impact. They were third in the FPS in penalty yard in like third in like least amount of penalty yards, with twenty s only twenty seven loss per game. That's third in the FPS. U T S A had one fifteen average. That's one thirty eighth in the FPS. So Obviously, like penalties are kind of what decide these games. There was a few other things as well. UTSA's offense couldn't be stopped. Colorado State's defense couldn't stop a nosebleed. It's just there's a lot of factors that went to that game. ⁓ I don't I don't think it goes different either way with with Hoss Haney or not. I think San Diego State's just a or sorry, UTSA is just a really good team. That's very unusual for a Jim Moore team, though, to have penalties like that. That's one of the things that he's really good at is offense. I think that was like the main point of emphasis is is like of those eleven penalties all being like very sloppy, we're like on a very disciplined team, like like you just said. So just another week U TSA gets lucky is how I see it. All right. W agenda You're never gonna get me to say that they're good. Until they appear in the college football playoff or win the American, I would never say they're good. I think they're gonna be in the American championship, but that's they're gonna get dogwalled by USA. Sorry, this ain't a U TSA or American podcast. F ⁓ next game. Next game. on the slate. They went to Toledo, Ohio to take on where they let's let down our boy Aztec Republic really quick. Let's let's let's The Rockets. Let's try to beat the Rockets Rockets. You're thinking of Rice. That's no thinking of Temple on the Temple. But valid. ⁓ yeah, the Rockets they blasted off and lit up the scoreboard against the Aztecs forty one to sixteen Forty one to sixteen, yeah. It at no point in this game was San Diego State really in it. Now Yeah, no. They lost Lucky Sutton and J Javion Kennard. ⁓ that's bad. That's hard. Both very early on. That is rough. I will say though that like it did not matter. Toledo already had full control of that game when those two went out. And God, I forgot his name. Hold on. Who would Jane Denagal? Jane Denegal cannot play quarterback. ⁓ wow. I'm actually currently looking up to see if he has a LinkedIn profile. Wow. He does. You know he does. Yeah, he does. Yeah, he's gonna need it. Or the first seven seven to three. Seven to three. But it was seventeen to three at the end of the first. Yeah. Exactly that. It's like once once they scored more than seventeen plus, it's like they're not scoring that. They scored sixteen. So it's like they're not scoring more than that, especially after the running backs went out. It was just over. They wave the white flag and it's just not looking very good. I don't I don't want to be overreacting. I know we talked about how much we hate overreactions, but this is a time to do it. I'm like don't think they're good. They have not looked good. I I just I was gonna say four weeks they have not looked good. They've not given anything for you to be like well they could turn it around. And listen, but there's but like one and three could be different for like different teams, though. You like it is for Washington State. I was about to thank you for like Washington State kept in that game. We'll get to that later, but one and three looks different for different teams. Obviously, Washington State feeling a lot better about that, but they lost to JMU of the Sunbelt and Toledo of the Mac. Right. And as the pack twelve of conference and what they're trying to do. You just can't lose against those conferences because the magic's never been in the But it's just gonna happen though. You know, like it's just gonna happen sometimes. But it shouldn't if you wanna kinda build off of what you had last year, you went like what, nine and three, nine and four, whatever it is. And you trying to build off that season. You're saying we're in the new pack twelve, we had a winning season, we're gonna go work this is the where we take that next jump and say we can compete with these other big schools and these other G f ⁓ G six schools and then you the moment you have to show that, you get fucking dog walked. It's just so obvious now that even like the top dogs at like the Mac, like and no disrespect to the Mac, you guys know how much I love them. Like just like even like middle of the pack teams in in the Pac twelve, like the fifth best conference, can't can't keep up with the top dogs in any conference. Like it's just it's just gonna be the top yeah, I yeah. College football is a year to year thing now. That's true. It's a brand new conversation. Yeah, l I think a lot of these teams if they were in the packs well last year, it would be a different story. But obviously it's this year. That's true. What were saying? Nah, that was it. It's just it's a little bit different. ⁓ college football's year to year with the portal and NIL and all that stuff. Talk about it. These last couple weeks, yeah. We could just A lot of talk in the press conference of San Diego State about from San Diego State beat reporters about Texas State. Yeah. I think they're worried. They are worried. They're worried. Because it's a it's a very crucial game. It's the one of genuinely the first game in conference. That defense gave up forty one to Toledo, and that's no disrespect to them, but I I would be willing to bet Texas State has a better offense. We'll talk about it in the preview, but yeah, I I agree with that. And then I was Probably gonna say Tech Safe just because they played a little bit later. It would be a great segue. But I want to talk about a team that got their first win. Let's go. This weekend. One and three looking a lot good in Logan, Utah. They took down Troy. I had Troy winning this game, but they too Aggies. We all did. We all did. The Aggies proved us winning. Not Mr. Beav. Not Mr. Beef. Not Mr. Beve. Mr. Beav wanted to pack twelve sweep. You know, the the Aggies were favored in this game. We were talking about how that's free money, but Vegas knows something we don't. They took it down twenty one to ten against the Trojans to get their first win of the season. Cayenne did say if their own if they were gonna get a win, it was gonna be this game. That was right. Yeah, they locked in and got the they got the first one in the win column. Goose Crowder, quarterback for Troy, did have three picks, so that's ⁓ unfortunately like right now it's really hard to watch eight football games in a weekend. I haven't been able to do that, obviously. ⁓ so it is a little bit of box score watching. We're trying our best. But ⁓ especially when we work home games. Yeah, like that takes six hours to work. Your job is different than mine, brother. I'm in that booth watching these games. Like i the best I can. Yeah. Well now it's gonna be easier because there's only four games to watch every week. This is true. That is gonna help a lot. Yep. ⁓ let's see, what was the attendance for Utah State? Twenty two thousand with Troy. That's pretty good. ⁓ I think that crowd might have helped they always draw pretty good. Yeah. What they want to see the good the football team win. And the fact that they showed up for an ON three team, twenty two thousand of ⁓ against a Sunbelt school, that's awesome. That's really awesome. And can I say too, like just like how much it sucks for them to already be in a state that's like thin for recruits that you're competing with BYU and Utah like already and like you're like yeah, you're it's still a great school and like anyone would be ecstatic to go there, but it's still the third best option in the state. That's our you know what I'm saying? Like, in terms of like this world of college football, yeah. And like yeah, and like even in basketball for like and it sucks because like to that point, like the gap between one and two isn't that crazy, but the cap the gap from two and three is insane. It's bad, yeah. It's insane. Going from like I mean, I guess you would say Utah is the second best team at Utah at the moment. And then like going from Utah to Utah state Then then the BYU, like the it's there's levels two. Yeah, we'll say shout out Bronco Mendock in that first win. I I said he's coach of the year and I base that also to back myself up. I base that You could be right. But I turns it around. That's what I'm saying. I didn't base that off of Utah State's gonna win the league or be close to it. I just based that off of he was gonna do something impressive as a coach with what he has to work with. Mm-hmm. So I I don't think Utah State's still gonna be all that great. But hey, they gotta win Grady Brosserhouse over three hundred ⁓ total yards on the ground and in the air. He led the team in rushing. Eli Woods really solid day. Which is not a good thing. Like they need to establish a a run game because this has been a problem for them all year where they just Javen Jacob's the only other guy they got a carry. Yeah, that's embarrassing. Wait, what's going on in that running back room? See, this is why I wish I could watch these games so I can figure this stuff out. They won though. They did win. They're not gonna go and the little lies I had on this game. It was it look, it was not a good win. It was still win, though. They don't ask how. ⁓ congratulta State. I think Troy's solid. Troy is still yeah, a very solid Sunbelt team. Like it so Good win. I don't know how much more they're gonna get after that. Yeah. ⁓ but they looked a lot better. I think there's at least a little like you finally have something to be like excited about, like if you at the very least, if you're a Utah State fan. I think that defense sneaks at least two games in the Pac twelve for ⁓ I think so too, man. They're gonna get a I think they might get Wazoo. Hmm. I That's not a bad shot. I 'cause I that'll be a defensive game. Because Caden Pennick is so like seems like he's very easy to like he's very young, but he he seems like it's very easy to like get him to like make a mistake. Yes, and make mistakes. So like we talk about mistakes, Jada Denigal's gonna be shaking. Utah State could beat San Diego State too. That's not crazy to say. If they don't have like if their running game is just not up to bar, bro Jada Denegal ask I ask Jada Denigal to win us this game, bro. I got you sixteen points, coach. Can't Grady Brosserhouse get sixteen points though himself. We need to see seventeen. Coach, I got you twelve. Dude That's gonna be such an ugly game to watch, dude. ⁓ my God. We will be there. We we got to. Conference play, we're not missing a game. ⁓ god. On God. No, it'd be easier to watch four games, three to four games. And also too, we're gonna get a lot of away games too, so we won't be working those games. I'm gonna be glued to these T V T V. We'll be there for the next Tech State only has that's right. Tech State has four home games left 'cause they have seven this year. They've already played three, so We'll have some weekends to watch these games for real. Yes, sir. All right. Next game on the slate. I mean, we could just rip off the band aid now. Texas State took on an FCS school. UIW incarnate ward. If you don't know, it's the G J Kenney Boy as he was coaching there for a little bit before he came over here. One year in twenty twenty two. Yeah, right after Cam Ward. Cam Ward did beat Texas State a little tidbit I saw. Shout out to Colin for that article. It was really cool. But Texas State gets a much needed, a good tune up game right before conference play. The defense for the first time this season looked like a real defense and the offense just doing what they do best. It saw a lot of backups coming in the game, which is a green flag when you play against a team like this. Little I was a little worried to start the game 'cause UAW had that really good drive. Scripted drive, scripted drive. Yep, you're screening. Screen screen it it was just screen, screen, screen. Yeah. Regardless, it it led to points. Yeah, and it worked. Obviously the defense adjusted very well, only led up three points after that. offense puts up sixty three points, man. Like what more can you say? I have become the biggest Torrance Burgess fan. Yes, sir. About time you woke up, bro. I I I almost tweeted it and I was I was a little too like I think I was just a little like I was awake for too long, so I was little dizzy. Bro was delirious. I think he I think he's gonna get real NFL looks. Like I really how old is he? He's a senior so last year. I mean how long has he been I think this is his fourth year. Yeah. Okay. He did Timbell Junior College and then UTEP and then here, I believe. I I I think he's I think NFL team should be licking their chops for this guy. So he was ready. ⁓ yeah run defense for Texas State looked good. I know it was FCS. I know that team didn't run the ball much in the first half, but then ended up being thirty seven times total. DB still stink ⁓ incarnate word through for two hundred and eighty three yards and yeah, they're two and two going into conference play. It could be worse. It could be one and three. Two hundred of those yards I sorry, two hundred of these yards I believe were in the first half. Yeah. ⁓ but yeah, I mean they're two and two going to San Diego next weekend. I think that's a okay spot for Texas State. They look better week by week. I think that's one thing you can say. ⁓ I don't want to talk about ⁓ too long. There was just a lot of first and like cool things you wouldn't know if you didn't watch. ⁓ I like when guys get their first touches and stuff like that. Yeah, I've got to shut that stuff out. Yeah. They lost 34 to 24. But, you know, a lot better performance than I expected from the Cougars. I thought Arizona was kind of gonna, you know, run away with this one a lot earlier, but they hang in and only one by ten. And I believe they had to go and win this game. It was like a four-point difference in the fourth. Maybe I'm wrong. Yeah, it was ⁓ let me see in the third quarter. quarter it was twenty one seventeen going into the fourth. Yeah four point it was a ball game. As soon as I left ⁓ the stadium here in San Marcus, I turned that game on my phone as I walked out the stadium and watched it and did not stop until Arizona went up and I was like ⁓ it's over. But yeah, Wazoo another this is like out of all the losses they've had against these tough opponents, I do think this is the best one to get I I agree. This is a good one to have on your record, especially with Noah Fita having like such a good game as well. Poor Caden Pennick, dude, he had like five plus dudes coming at him every single play. They put a lot of pressure on Pennick and you you had to watch that game to have really seen it. ⁓ run game really again for Wazoo just wasn't that good. I I think Arizona is a really good team. So I'm kinda surprised the way that Wazoo held in there and I'm glad that they did. That defense will keep them in A lot of games, yeah. That Utah State and Washington State will be like a thirteen to seventeen game. Bet the under. Yeah. Yeah, no, that defense does look incredibly stout as well. And I do wonder d how how many games does it win f for them? I mean they're taking note on Fresno last next week. That's gonna be the eight thirty game. That's what I'm saying. It's like if a couple of things go if you force Fresno State's gonna light them up. I don't know, man. If you force the right amount of turnovers I think the offense is clicking now, man. The thing I noticed was Washington State. They they are going through some growing pain still. Like Caden Pennick is a red shirt freshman or sophomore, I believe. I should know this, but I think he's a s yeah, he's definitely a sophomore 'cause he had to have played last year. Yeah, he did red shirt though, one of those years. ⁓ he looks really young. He really does. There ⁓ Washington State blocked a field goal attempt from Arizona. They got the ball back. They had a chance to they believe they still had the lead at the moment. ⁓ Sorry, I had a burn. and it was like third and two, third and three, and Caden Pennick had pressure in his face, but he had a wide open guy on like a five yard out and he just air mailed it. And he had room to work to just kind of just drop it in there. He missed a throw, they had to punt, and I think that kinda killed him at that point on that drive and their momentum was kind of lost right there. It was a three and out after you block a field goal. ⁓ I think that hurt him. So they've got to figure out a way to run the ball. Fresno's gonna make it tough. UTEP, they put Belt thirty three to seven. Shout out to Isma, he was at this game, big friend of the program. But the Beeves, they're looking hot heading into conference play. Start O two now winning their last two. You know, five hundred heading into it. Zero zero on that conference schedule. This is a team that's looking pretty hot right now. As of right now, probably the closest team realistically to Boise State in terms of ⁓ overall talent and competition. Mr Mr. Beef says ⁓ Oregon State is top of the power rankings right now. I wonder why he would say that. But but again, another great game another great game from Braden Atkinson. ⁓ they AJ Newberry, able to run the ball. They are able to do everything on offense. It's a good team. And not only and like I get the competit like what they played UTEP this week, who they play last week was another Montana. Montana. So okay, and Montana's not a terrible program, so y your defense kinda is good. Your defense is pretty pretty decent. I mean they held up aga they held up against Houston pretty well for the most part. Yeah. Yeah. And I I think that Tex Tech also just scratch X, Tex Tech kinda sucks. Yeah. And I also love like how intense like Jamarcus Shepherd how just not intense, I guess, but passionate he is. Yeah. Like throughout the game. Like he I I kinda like when I when I hear of a guy coming from Alabama, you kinda think of the Nick Saban tree where it's like these guys are like stone cold, like like I'm just worried about like He probably provided balance to that coaching staff. And I I I think he's just got these guys playing on a level that Maybe even if like we don't think the talent on the roster is good that he's gonna get the best out of them no matter what. They're gonna be fun to watch. Amen. Looking at the defense for Oregon State, brother, seven sacks. Seven sacks and nine T FLs. That's really good. ⁓ I guess multiple guys getting i they're all it's all one or half, but still that's just awesome because that just shows the depth you got at that D line. Yeah, no, we gotta give love to defense because man, Oregon State not a team I really have seen a lot from defensively, but I don't really care if they're playing a Mountain West Utep, but they they looked good defensively. I just think Rice has a very good rush attack. They have Jakuri Brown, their quarterback, who is by the way. But but he but listen, on the ground though, he's killing you on the ground, right? And he would have had and he would have had more of one if one pen he would have had a fifty three yard scramble on a fourth and five. if if it didn't get called back for a holding call. So like he would have had probably close to two hundred yards rushing. So those Bulldogs had this old man staying up, man. Stressing. Stressing. But I like but so worth it to watch in the end. Jaden Mandal finally looks like he's getting comfortable out there. QBR was forty three point four. I don't give a rat's ass about the QBR when he's there for three touchdowns and no interceptions. ⁓ And not only that too, like a lot of those completions, he was threading the needle on some of those passes. It wasn't like just wide open, like like just check downs at five yards. He was he was slinging it. Like he looks like a competent quarterback and Ray Sean Luke, a hundred and sixty seven yards on eleven carries, talking about getting like the most out of like the little bit of you get like fifteen point two yards per rush. Like that's insane. Like I this offense is starting to figure it out and Josiah Freeman continues just to be the best receiver on this team. Jalil McLean, he's finally starting to step step it up. Like all these guys are getting receptions and that defense still, I mean, listen, you still you gave up almost three no, you did give up three hundred and forty four yards rushing. And after that US C game, Jade Mandel has almost been pretty pretty solid making as far as like making no mistakes. He's a pretty safe quarterback, but He showed that like it it worked this week. I think this is the next game, last game. This is the easiest one on the slate. Yeah. But I think this is by far the easiest choice you can make. I even think Utah State Boise is not as easy. as this matchup is. Really? Texas State will be going on the road to the Mesa in San Diego to take on the Aztecs for their first conference game. This is the primetime game, nine thirty on the CW. Pack twelve after dart, baby. It's after dark we made it. We've teased this game for a little bit. We've said kind of that this is a perfect matchup for Texas State, but how do we feel going into this one? So The only hope that San Diego State has is having Lucky Sutton and Javion Kennard back. But ⁓ Texas State's Rush defense has been incredible to start the season, even in in even in those two losses. Like San Diego's the thing of it is is like I d I don't there's nothing that San Diego State does better than Texas State. I'm trying to I'm trying to find like an edge that San Diego State can like can get over Texas State like not even a running game. But they can't even air it out. Like Jaden like Jaden Mandal cannot even throw the ball. So it's it i he's pathetic out there. Jaden Denig yeah, his name isn't even important I said Jaden Mandel. That's a Fresno guy. My apologies. There's it would have to be a miracle because there's just nothing that San Diego State has shown me that they could exploit against Texas State. And and Texas State has only gotten better. But how we already talked about I th I think last week how this is a perfect matchup for Texas State 'cause San Diego State just unfortunately their weaknesses are too weak for Texas State's strengths. And that's Texas State's ability to throw and run the ball and San Diego State's just run defense not being that good. Texas State's run defense being pretty solid and then, you know, you got Kennard and Sutton injured, maybe not playing this week. Maybe they are. Doesn't matter. The run defense is the strength for Texas State. ⁓ poor Lucky Sutton, he can't throw the ball to himself or anything like that. You know what I mean? ⁓ it's just unfortunate. I I'm obviously not even like in a biased way. I think Texas State is just better. Yeah. I wouldn't have said that before the season though. No, yeah. Like and that's what like I try to keep my like bias aside because obviously I like Everyone knows at this point already, but like it's it's just like come on. Like this is like the you can't help but like like very confidently favor Texas State here.
