- 0:32Switzerland's private radio stations are voicing their concerns over proposed budget
- 0:35cuts from the Swiss federal government.
- 0:38The Verband Schweizer Privatradios, representing 37 regional stations, opposes the
- 0:44elimination of 600,000 Swiss francs in subsidies for mountain transmission costs.
- 0:50They argue that the transition to D.A.B.
- 0:52plus isn't complete, and cutting funds now would harm services in remote areas.
- 0:58Additionally, a proposed cut of 1 million Swiss francs for journalism training is criticized
- 1:02for potentially undermining newsroom standards and limiting opportunities for young
- 1:06journalists.
- 1:09Following recent power outages in Spain and Portugal, TechniSat is highlighting the
- 1:13importance of portable digital radios, especially those powered by battery or solar
- 1:18energy, for emergency use.
- 1:21Their D.A.B.
- 1:22plus receivers can operate without mains power, ensuring access to vital information during
- 1:27crises.
- 1:28The TechniSat lineup includes models like the DigitRadio 1, which has an Automatic Safety
- 1:33Alert function, and the Solar 2, which can be recharged via hand crank or solar panels.
- 1:40These devices underscore radio's role in public service continuity during disasters.

- 3:01The Directorate General for Electronic Communication, Broadcasting, and Postal
- 3:05Services has set a new deadline of June 30.
- 3:09The delay stems from a public consultation by Agcom on reassigning frequencies from National
- 3:14Television Network No.
- 3:1612.
- 3:17Italian broadcaster association Aeranti-Corallo supports this move, hoping it will improve
- 3:22frequency use and reduce interference.
