- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio. It's a big week for headlines. We've got
- 0:08Speaker 1: a couple headlines that I cannot wait to run through
- 0:11Speaker 1: with Ashley. Here. The mystery of the Trista Sutter disappearance,
- 0:17Speaker 1: along with Ali Fedotowski like disappearance from social media at least, continues.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We're getting less and less answers.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I think, no, not I have. I mean, I know,
- 0:28Speaker 2: I know what happened.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Okay, well, Ashley's can you share it with us?
- 0:34Speaker 2: I think people know. I think it's I think it's
- 0:36Speaker 2: special Forces. Interesting, even press articles are saying that it's
- 0:41Speaker 2: most likely special Forces.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Well, here at the Almost Face podcast, we're gonna say
- 0:45Speaker 1: they allegedly were on special Forces. They are now back
- 0:51Speaker 1: and Trista Sutter breaks her silence about her absence and
- 0:54Speaker 1: reunites with husband Ryan and kids.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Okay, so first off, how about do you think Ali
- 1:02Speaker 2: feels that her husband didn't go on diatribe on social
- 1:04Speaker 2: media about.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Oh yes, she's like coming home, She's like wait, what
- 1:08Speaker 1: you didn't miss me? Like what was going on here?
- 1:12Speaker 1: In fact, if I was her husband, I would have
- 1:14Speaker 1: seen Ryan's post and just been like well, I have.
- 1:17Speaker 2: To have You don't have to be so melodramatic something
- 1:20Speaker 2: you gotta do nothing Well, Trista was really funny. When
- 1:24Speaker 2: she got back. She said, geez, people, can a girl
- 1:27Speaker 2: have a nervous breakdown slash trial, separation slash midlife crisis
- 1:32Speaker 2: slash death slash divorce and peace around here? In all
- 1:37Speaker 2: seriousness For those concerned, I'm safe and sound, happy and
- 1:40Speaker 2: healthy and love and grateful. For those who'd rather focus
- 1:44Speaker 2: on being critical and searching way too hard for darkness,
- 1:48Speaker 2: good luck, good luck with that an opportunity for prospective
- 1:53Speaker 2: and personal growth presented itself, and the unconditional support of
- 1:57Speaker 2: my family and friends. I chose myself and betterment, knowing
- 2:02Speaker 2: that my stay at home mom job and my kid's
- 2:05Speaker 2: end of the year school needs were in the best,
- 2:09Speaker 2: most capable hands. If you guys are a little late
- 2:12Speaker 2: to this and don't know what Ben and I are
- 2:14Speaker 2: joking about, Ryan Sutter posted about I don't know the
- 2:18Speaker 2: exact number I want to say five very dramatic yet
- 2:24Speaker 2: loving and caring posts about him being out of touch
- 2:28Speaker 2: with his wife, her going through some sort of life journey,
- 2:34Speaker 2: and him just doing life without her. For two weeks
- 2:40Speaker 2: and Ryan posted something yesterday about his the fact that
- 2:44Speaker 2: he usually just posts about his dogs, and he's going
- 2:47Speaker 2: to go back to just posting about his dogs because
- 2:50Speaker 2: he can't believe that for the first time and basically
- 2:53Speaker 2: twenty years so many press outlets picked up on his
- 2:58Speaker 2: social media active that there was headlines with his name
- 3:01Speaker 2: in it. He says, uh blahlah blah, bah blah. But
- 3:04Speaker 2: twenty one years ago, I was pretty famous. I don't
- 3:06Speaker 2: have millions of followers, and I'm not influencing anyone, but
- 3:09Speaker 2: for some reason, every now and then people still pay attention.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Apparently that has recently been the case. I strayed from
- 3:16Speaker 2: the safety of my usual dog themed posts and I
- 3:19Speaker 2: post some messages to my wife for a time, which
- 3:22Speaker 2: she could eventually read them. She understood the context, so
- 3:26Speaker 2: did I. No one else did, however, and that's where
- 3:30Speaker 2: things went sideways. It was suggested that Trista had died
- 3:34Speaker 2: I don't know about, that we were in trouble, or
- 3:37Speaker 2: that it must have been a midlife crisis, amongst other
- 3:40Speaker 2: creative ideas. Some thought it was intentional, that I was
- 3:44Speaker 2: misleading people in order to somehow benefit from it. It
- 3:48Speaker 2: got picked up by entertainment news sites. I started getting
- 3:51Speaker 2: text from people concerned blah blah blah. But he said,
- 3:56Speaker 2: but to be honest, it felt good to know people
- 4:00Speaker 2: still cared and worried and wondered. It felt good to
- 4:03Speaker 2: be noticed and inspired me to start paying better attention
- 4:08Speaker 2: to others when they do good or when they need help. So, yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 2: you know, we were talking last week about how, like
- 4:17Speaker 2: I that is a lot of miss Like he really
- 4:20Speaker 2: missed her. And we know that if it was Special Forces,
- 4:22Speaker 2: that it only films for about ten days. Of course,
- 4:25Speaker 2: with travel and pre production and stuff, it probably comes
- 4:29Speaker 2: to about fourteen fifteen days. But like we were like, man,
- 4:33Speaker 2: I want to be missed like that, And I was thinking,
- 4:35Speaker 2: my dad does miss my mom like this. He writes
- 4:39Speaker 2: her notes every morning. And then my mom came for
- 4:44Speaker 2: the weekend. She was here for three nights. And then
- 4:46Speaker 2: my sister looked up the plane tickets just how much
- 4:49Speaker 2: it would be to switch and add like an extra day,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and it was only one hundred dollars, and she was like,
- 4:55Speaker 2: I have to get home to Dad, like Dad needs me.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Like my dad legitimately like doesn't have any sort of
- 5:02Speaker 2: like real mental or physical need for my mom's you know, presence,
- 5:09Speaker 2: but like he will text her like I'm sad, I'm lonely,
- 5:13Speaker 2: I want you home, I miss you, like within hours
- 5:17Speaker 2: of her leaving for a three day trip.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It's very sweet. Yeah, I wonder if it's always been
- 5:21Speaker 1: that way. Well, I will always be team Ryan and Trista.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Love those two, like two of the coolest, best people,
- 5:28Speaker 1: love them to death. I do feel like here though,
- 5:32Speaker 1: they should both look at this and be like, no,
- 5:34Speaker 1: we definitely set ourselves up for this, Like one hundred percent.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I can see why people were like, what is happening?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Where is Trista? Where is she gone?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Especially like did the show get annoyed by this? Like
- 5:45Speaker 2: she basically revealed herself as a cast member?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Sure, but like I know that they're both probably like, hey,
- 5:51Speaker 1: everybody overreacted this, and I'm sure we did. Like I'm
- 5:54Speaker 1: one hundred percent sure we overreacted to these posts, but
- 5:59Speaker 1: I can see why people overreacted to these posts, Like
- 6:01Speaker 1: I get one hundred percent say yes, I when I
- 6:04Speaker 1: read these, even knowing the two of them and believe
- 6:07Speaker 1: wanting to believe the best, I was like, is everything okay?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Like I don't know what's happening, but is my biggest
- 6:12Speaker 1: question in general was is everything okay?
- 6:15Speaker 2: But you don't think that knowing Ryan and Trista, but
- 6:19Speaker 2: particularly Ryan in this case, he was never asking for
- 6:22Speaker 2: attention goodness, No, like absolutely not like this guy like
- 6:25Speaker 2: doesn't search for attention whatsoever. He's the quietest and most
- 6:29Speaker 2: private amongst everyone. Every time we have like a group trip.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Ryan, there's zero thought in my mind that Ryan at
- 6:35Speaker 1: any point when it's in fact, I think he probably
- 6:37Speaker 1: did this for a lack of attention, not knowing what
- 6:41Speaker 1: social media exactly right.
- 6:42Speaker 2: He just thought he was sending messages to Trista and
- 6:45Speaker 2: she would probably be able to get them via social
- 6:47Speaker 2: media better than text message.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I bet that. Honestly, I don't think it's probably far
- 6:51Speaker 1: from the truth. Ryan was not looking for attention here.
- 6:55Speaker 1: He is not like most of us. He's a very
- 6:57Speaker 1: quiet He is, you know, head to the ground, hard worker.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And I do probably think he was writing these as
- 7:04Speaker 1: a love letter to his wife that he did miss
- 7:07Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden he was like, holy cow.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I doubt Ryan even knew that these things caught fire
- 7:13Speaker 1: and got attention from publicity until like days after we
- 7:18Speaker 1: did like I bet at some point he woke up
- 7:20Speaker 1: one morning he was like, hey, why is my name
- 7:22Speaker 1: on like CNN? Or my Google alerts are popping up?
- 7:26Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden he's like, oh crap,
- 7:28Speaker 1: Like now I gotta type another one. That made it
- 7:31Speaker 1: a little bit worse, and everybody freaked out a little
- 7:32Speaker 1: bit more well, kind of in concert here, Ali Fitatowski
- 7:37Speaker 1: discusses crazy emotions after her mysterious trip, and she says
- 7:41Speaker 1: she doesn't quite feel like herself. Just give a timeline
- 7:44Speaker 1: her kind of as I said, disappearance, I don't know
- 7:47Speaker 1: it's to call it from social media also happened about
- 7:52Speaker 1: the same time Tristas did.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah okay, so she said, hey everyone, I'm back. I've
- 7:57Speaker 2: been off social for a bit and I'm happy to
- 7:58Speaker 2: be back. You know, wait to share what I did.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I have so many feelings around it, crazy emotions around it,
- 8:05Speaker 2: and I honestly mentally don't feel quite like myself right
- 8:09Speaker 2: now because of it. I promise as soon as I
- 8:11Speaker 2: can share with you, I will. I just can't now, said.
- 8:15Speaker 2: It feels good to interact with her followers again and again.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Can't wait to share everything she can when she can.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I think both of them. It's interesting to me, Ashley,
- 8:26Speaker 1: if it was Special Forces and we are allegedly saying
- 8:29Speaker 1: that is the best, you know, point to where we
- 8:35Speaker 1: think they went. It's interesting they're both kind of going
- 8:38Speaker 1: about this talking about their kind of mental health and
- 8:43Speaker 1: bettering themselves. I wonder if Special Forces is kind of
- 8:46Speaker 1: marketed to contestants as this place to believe in yourself
- 8:50Speaker 1: again and to do something powerful and to show your strength.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised because I do think the show
- 8:57Speaker 1: does that. You know, it's an incredible endurance of mental strength,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and it does kind of catapult you back out into
- 9:04Speaker 1: the spotlight for a period of time and people watch
- 9:07Speaker 1: you go through these grueling tasks. But both Ali and
- 9:10Speaker 1: Trista kind of have similar language on what they were
- 9:13Speaker 1: doing and why they were doing it.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Totally, You're right, And the show did have Nick and
- 9:19Speaker 2: Tyler on last season from Bachelor, so then it would
- 9:22Speaker 2: just make sense for them to have two females from Bachelor.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, interesting choices, I would say, yeah.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I mean, I don't want no offense to Ali, but
- 9:31Speaker 2: I think that Alli is a little bit more of
- 9:32Speaker 2: a random choice. Tristia makes a lot of sense. She's
- 9:35Speaker 2: the mother of the franchise. She will always be a name. Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 2: and to me Ali, while of course, like we know
- 9:42Speaker 2: her from The Bachelor, I think of her more as
- 9:45Speaker 2: like a mommy blogger these days because she's done a
- 9:48Speaker 2: lot since the show. She did E she did some
- 9:50Speaker 2: lifestyle shows. She's very concentrated on social media now. So
- 9:54Speaker 2: just a little bit, just more of a left field
- 9:57Speaker 2: choice for me.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You don't think of her as the Bachelor anymore. You
- 10:00Speaker 1: think of her as, yes, something different. If they both
- 10:04Speaker 1: won this thing. We have problems, like I'm gonna have
- 10:08Speaker 1: like big like issues internally, like how strong am I?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Like?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Am I weird?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Am I? Like? We don't even know how powerful we are.
- 10:15Speaker 2: But when we're sitting there.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Bridge, yeah, so strong and all I do is talk
- 10:22Speaker 1: for a living. Susan Lucci claims she was called about
- 10:35Speaker 1: leading the Golden Bachelor. Said it wasn't for me, was
- 10:38Speaker 1: her quote. This according to people. Actually, as we know,
- 10:41Speaker 1: multiple people are called about leading the franchise each season.
- 10:45Speaker 1: This isn't something new or abnormal. It doesn't mean that
- 10:48Speaker 1: Joan wasn't their first choice. It doesn't mean that she
- 10:50Speaker 1: was their first choice. It just means that they kind
- 10:53Speaker 1: of call a bunch of people. They did it when
- 10:55Speaker 1: I was The Bachelor. They bring them in a room,
- 10:57Speaker 1: you have dinner with, you know, the creators of the show.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You sit down, you talk about what you're all about,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and then you know you really don't know you're going
- 11:05Speaker 1: to be the lead until they announce it. So not shocking,
- 11:09Speaker 1: but Susan Lucci, big name getting the call. They're obviously
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think the biggest thing out of this is they
- 11:16Speaker 1: are considering when it comes at least to Golden to
- 11:18Speaker 1: go outside the franchise.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It feels like every year we get a headline of
- 11:22Speaker 2: a celebrity saying, like I was asked by production to
- 11:25Speaker 2: be the lead. They obviously are really and they never
- 11:29Speaker 2: say yes. They're really trying for this and one day
- 11:33Speaker 2: I really want it to happen for us. It would
- 11:35Speaker 2: be really fun. And with Susan Lucci, Holy moly, does
- 11:39Speaker 2: that really make a lot of sense for them to
- 11:42Speaker 2: get an audience that they don't currently have, Because yes,
- 11:47Speaker 2: did The Golden Bachelor bring in a lot of older audience,
- 11:50Speaker 2: a lot more vast of range when it comes to
- 11:54Speaker 2: age range, Yes, But with Susan Lucci, you're gonna get
- 11:58Speaker 2: so many fans of all my which my mom was
- 12:01Speaker 2: for years, just lots of soap fans. The whole show
- 12:05Speaker 2: itself kind of is like a soap, so I think
- 12:08Speaker 2: she'd fit right in perfectly. And then I think you're
- 12:12Speaker 2: gonna get a lot of people who are older who
- 12:15Speaker 2: are like, what is this show that Susan Lupchi is
- 12:18Speaker 2: doing that's so interesting? She's seventy seven. I mean, she
- 12:22Speaker 2: looks amazing. Her husband died two years ago. She has
- 12:26Speaker 2: been a really fun candidate for it. But she did
- 12:30Speaker 2: say I believe that they contacted my publicist and it
- 12:33Speaker 2: wasn't for me. I don't think it went the conversation
- 12:36Speaker 2: went too far. I did watch The Golden Bachelor. I
- 12:40Speaker 2: really enjoyed watching The Golden Bachelor. This is a new
- 12:43Speaker 2: addiction for me, she said. She she spent years watching
- 12:50Speaker 2: her mother love the franchise, but she didn't get into
- 12:54Speaker 2: it until a couple seasons ago, after her assistant inspired
- 12:58Speaker 2: her to give The Bachelor a try. So my assistant said,
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm going home to watch The Bachelor with my daughters,
- 13:04Speaker 2: and she says it's really good, and you know, now
- 13:07Speaker 2: it's her new guilty pleasure. She says, well, in that case, Susan,
- 13:11Speaker 2: maybe like see how you feel after jone season, because
- 13:16Speaker 2: this would be really fun.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Give it a shot. Tin Lee Mulsanne welcomes baby number
- 13:23Speaker 1: two with husband Taylor Leopold. This according to US Weekly.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Tenley had been posting about how she wanted to have
- 13:32Speaker 2: this baby so bad because she like went to the
- 13:36Speaker 2: forty week point it was the baby was do do,
- 13:41Speaker 2: so she was. She happily welcomed her May twenty third,
- 13:45Speaker 2: ninety eight PM. The baby's name is banks Alia Eliah
- 13:54Speaker 2: Leopold and she was eight pounds six ounces, so she
- 13:59Speaker 2: said in the Captain wonder why I was hurting? She
- 14:02Speaker 2: looks a lot like real did, but a little extra squashy.
- 14:06Speaker 2: So congratulations to Tenley and her husband Taylor, and of
- 14:10Speaker 2: course their daughter ral who's very excited to be a
- 14:13Speaker 2: big sister.
- 14:13Speaker 1: It's super fun to see. It's absolutely awesome. Good for Tenley,
- 14:17Speaker 1: good for Taylor. More babies in Bachelor Nation continue. Abigail
- 14:22Speaker 1: Herringer's memoir The Deaf Girl comes out in September, and
- 14:26Speaker 1: her quote is your girl has published her first book.
- 14:30Speaker 1: This according to the Bachelor Nation.
- 14:32Speaker 2: She definitely kept this under wraps. She keeps us updated
- 14:34Speaker 2: on a lot of things, the wedding planning, the reconstruction
- 14:38Speaker 2: of their house. But she I don't think said anything
- 14:42Speaker 2: about her writing a book, But here she is. She
- 14:45Speaker 2: posted on social media saying your girl has published her
- 14:48Speaker 2: first book. It's called The Deaf Girl, a memoir of
- 14:52Speaker 2: hearing loss, hope, and fighting against the odds. She showed
- 14:57Speaker 2: us the cover. The cover looks cute, she said. In
- 14:59Speaker 2: tw twenty one, many of you met me for the
- 15:02Speaker 2: first time when I stepped out of a limo and
- 15:04Speaker 2: quest for love. In my introduction included a playful mention
- 15:08Speaker 2: of my deafness, and I meant it as a lighthearted
- 15:11Speaker 2: pickup line, but it sparked a much needed conversation about
- 15:15Speaker 2: hearing loss in the mainstream media, and since then, I've
- 15:18Speaker 2: received numerous messages from people sharing their own experiences with
- 15:21Speaker 2: hearing loss. Some people some people reminded me of high
- 15:26Speaker 2: school Abigail, unsure of where she fit in. Born deaf,
- 15:30Speaker 2: but received a cochlear implant at a young age, placing
- 15:33Speaker 2: her between two communities. So she's describing that kind of
- 15:38Speaker 2: person herself, and others echoed my mom's journey, which is
- 15:42Speaker 2: navigating the world as a parent of two deaf daughters,
- 15:46Speaker 2: filled with the fear of the unknown. There were those
- 15:49Speaker 2: who are like my now fiance, who wanted to learn
- 15:52Speaker 2: how to be a supportive partner to somebody with a disability,
- 15:55Speaker 2: and many others who expressed the struggle with how to
- 15:58Speaker 2: balance their disability with their personal identity. So she teamed
- 16:02Speaker 2: up with her mom to look back on their lives
- 16:05Speaker 2: and to put together this book. She said, over the
- 16:08Speaker 2: past three years, my mom and I have combined our
- 16:11Speaker 2: experiences into this book in mind, you know, particularly focusing
- 16:17Speaker 2: on growing up with a disability and navigating life's challenges
- 16:20Speaker 2: and hers her perspective of raising two daughters with a
- 16:23Speaker 2: shared disability and facing uncharded waters. So it comes out
- 16:27Speaker 2: in September and she hopes that it provides answers and
- 16:31Speaker 2: comfort and hope to those who need it.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Absolutely awesome.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I love the combo, right, what a good idea.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Really cool. We'll be bringing her on to get more
- 16:41Speaker 1: insights as September gets closer about this book. But really
- 16:46Speaker 1: great when somebody uses you know, whatever it is that
- 16:50Speaker 1: catches the attention of the audience, something that probably at
- 16:54Speaker 1: some point was an insecurity for her as she mentioned
- 16:57Speaker 1: in high school, and now it's her super Now it's her.
- 17:01Speaker 1: It's the thing that she is talking about connecting with
- 17:04Speaker 1: and helping others with. Absolutely cool, absolutely awesome. Wishing her
- 17:07Speaker 1: the best and the most success with that book. Ashley.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Final headline is this not really needing to be discussed,
- 17:13Speaker 1: but we are getting kind of some glimpses into Gin's
- 17:16Speaker 1: night one as the Bachelorette. We get more and more
- 17:19Speaker 1: excited here at the almost famous podcast about Night one
- 17:23Speaker 1: of the Bachelorette. We believe that filming has now concluded,
- 17:28Speaker 1: it's wrapped. The story is in a box, it's on
- 17:33Speaker 1: the floor of some editing room at ABC, and it
- 17:37Speaker 1: will be fairly soon in front of our eyes. To
- 17:41Speaker 1: enjoy Ashley, any insights, details, hidden secrets that aren't spoilers
- 17:46Speaker 1: that you have leading up tonight one m.
- 17:51Speaker 2: No, except for the fact that she posted on social
- 17:54Speaker 2: media four days ago saying proof of life. Past couple
- 17:58Speaker 2: months have been crazy, but I'm back, I'm grateful and
- 18:01Speaker 2: it's only the beginning.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Shocking that she did that. Honestly, most of the time
- 18:05Speaker 1: you cannot share when you're back because they don't they
- 18:08Speaker 1: don't love to know that it's over, Yeah, because then
- 18:13Speaker 1: people start digging people. You know, some fans still don't
- 18:16Speaker 1: think that the show is actually taped months before. I'll
- 18:21Speaker 1: be honest, Ashley. Every once in a while, I'll get
- 18:24Speaker 1: a spoiler, like, just come across my page. I've got nothing.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Oh really, I got the top four? I didn't. I
- 18:31Speaker 2: think I look at them, but I don't remember. I
- 18:33Speaker 2: don't recall them. Guys, when I'm recapping this, I will
- 18:36Speaker 2: not know. But I was on X and sometimes it
- 18:40Speaker 2: just there it is, and I'm like, oh, which are
- 18:44Speaker 2: these guys cute?
- 18:44Speaker 1: You know, I've got nothing. I'm coming into this thing
- 18:48Speaker 1: completely oblivious, so very excited. I like doing that.
