Latest / Worldview Matters With David Fiorazo / Mark and Amber Archer: Doubling Down On Deception And Delusion
Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Worldview Matters. Discussing controversial issues. Discerning current events. Defending biblical Christianity. No topic. Off limits. And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Hello and thank you again. Thank you again. Yes, for your prayers, for your support, for tuning into another episode and for sharing. I kind of feel like that's redundant, but I really mean that because we don't do advertising and we don't have these huge marketing campaigns for the podcast. So God, praise you, Lord, and you are helping us get out there. And I just heard...
- 0:42Our executive producer talked about some of the numbers of the podcast downloads, and it is really astounding. So God is being glorified, I hope and pray, and the body of Christ, I hope you are being edified. I love the people I get to talk to, and I want to mention we are gearing up for another conference next year, Worldview Matters Conference. I think we're going to keep the theme of redeem the time, because I really believe that's so important.
- 1:10Christians need to understand the times and know how to respond and do the work God's called us to do. We don't know how much time we have left. So that being said, our guests today are coming back. There are a few people that are coming back for next year's conference. It's Mark and Amber Archer.
- 1:29Their website is fearlessfeatures.org, fearlessfeatures.org. We're going to talk about their brand new project that's almost done. It will be done toward the end of the year, in the fall, actually, Principalities. And we're going to have an interesting conversation about media, about documentaries, about their process as filmmakers. And then we're also going to talk about...
- 1:53Just what's happening in the Charlie Kirk trial, the murder trial, and how people are responding. It's really interesting how the enemy is. There's just this spirit of delusion and confusion that's off the charts today. We'll talk about that. Mark and Amber, welcome back. Good to see you guys.
- 2:12Hello, David. Thanks for having us. You're most welcome. Love you guys. Love what you're doing. I just continue to hope that your territory expands, your influence expands. By the way, who's the guy in the cowboy hat in all your social media?
- 2:28Well, that would be me representing the Texas of the North. We went to Texas to shoot part of the mine polluters, and I was expecting everybody to be wearing full-size hats, and nobody was. So I decided that it was time for somebody to start representing. So here from Indiana, that's my hat.
- 2:49Well, there's farms and Texans in Indiana, I'm sure. So it's just fun to see. Great new pictures, by the way. I really like what you guys put up there. So I want to mention your YouTube channel so people can follow you, Fearless Features, if you want to look up on YouTube. You've been doing some great stuff, guys, talking about Ezekiel's Watchmen.
- 3:12Warning, you talked about that recently, sounding the alarm. You had an interview with Olivier Melnick, Tim Chafee on how movies shape your worldview. That's maybe a little bit what we can talk about today, but I want to start with principalities and just get an update from you guys.
- 3:29It's an exciting project, but because you are doing this about spiritual warfare and principalities, I'm sure there's a lot of warfare involved. And just tell us a little bit about since the last time we had you on, update us and just share the progress.
- 3:47Well, we're not immune like anyone else. Part of the spiritual attack was the ghost in the machine. I had a full system crash on Memorial Day weekend. Just my whole editing system just went up in smoke.
- 4:03And fortunately, of course, we have everything backed up, but it took time to get it all. Of course, I had to order a new computer and rebuild everything. And so it was good times, that kind of stuff it sets behind, put us behind a couple of weeks.
- 4:19And it's, it just kind of lets the air out of your sails for a while. And, um, there's, there's just a lot of, uh, we're not unique in this, but, you know, as you study this stuff, you learn that a lot of these things that we talk about, we've even talked about with you that some of the spiritual attacks, they don't seem like spiritual attacks, but things that, uh, that distract you.
- 4:41And so the constant busyness, the things that take you away from what you should be focused on, and there's a lot of that. But principalities, we're on track. It will be done by first part of October is the anticipated date. I was just editing this guy into it. His name is David Fiorazzo.
- 5:06Uh-oh. He has a fantastic part in principalities. Actually, you are very good in it. Stop. It's F-I-O-R. I got to get the name. It's A-R-T-H-E-R is what you write on the check. Anyway.
- 5:25Yeah, you were here interviewing Alex Newman, and I just came in and begged you for a little part in your next project. It was actually the other way around. We came all the way to Wisconsin just to interview you. And, oh, by the way, Alex was going to be there. It was funny. You thought that we had some clout with Alex Newman. We said, no, actually, we chased him all over the country.
- 5:49That's funny. That is true. I mean, Alex is in the Mind Polluters, Dysphoria, Title IX, and now Principality. Yeah, that's awesome. Well, you know, he's amazing. Let's just, I wish there were a thousand of him. But that's why I'm having him back as well next year. He's going to also be speaking today.
- 6:09Only three. Mark and Amber, you're one flesh, so you're one. There's Alex and then Brianna Clausen of Harbinger's Daily. So I'm bringing Alex back next year. He's just amazing. So I'm just blessed to be a part of what you guys are doing. I think that's very important. And I think the subject for the church at this time, when confusion and delusion is off the charts and we need discernment more than ever—
- 6:38No, I mean, we could have said this 25 years ago. We could have said this 10 years ago. We could have said this two years ago. But now with just so much else going on with the media, with what Hollywood's putting out in the garbage, with what's happening in Israel and the anti-Semitism, and now AI and all this other stuff, man, we need to be discerning. Amber, you want to speak to that? Or either one of you?
- 7:01Well, I think it was really interesting. So a couple of days ago we were watching, especially looking at the news. And, you know, like most of us, if we are looking at the news and we put on our biblical filter and we're just looking at things. But what I've started to notice, and Mark and I, we started talking about this. I said, this is really crazy. I'm just more and more. You're seeing more Christians, quote unquote, Christians who call themselves Christians.
- 7:27And they are beginning to really fight amongst one another, talking about how, well, they're the real truth seekers. And this, I know the truth here, and we're the truth seekers here. And they're coming to very wildly different conclusions about things. And so we started to ask, and I had to go and do a little bit of research. I'm like...
- 7:50What is this phenomenon? Well, sure enough, there's a name for it. And I had no idea. You know, for me, I learned something new this week. And epistemology, the study of knowledge. Sounds like something you need a pill for.
- 8:03It's like, oh my gosh. So just looking at it and researching it to try to understand what it is and why do we seemingly have people who call themselves Christians are supposedly supposed to be adhering to God's word, but what's end up happening is one's foundation is on sand and the other one's on the rock. I mean, in short.
- 8:25I was going to say it really is interesting to see even more of a divide in the church, and part of that has to do with the declining biblical worldview in the church. Mark, what were you going to say?
- 8:38I was just going to add to what Amber said. The amazing difference that we've noticed is there's a difference between someone who is seeking truth and someone who starts from truth. So most of the people that attack, and I'm sure you get this as well,
- 8:58that launch the attacks, especially on social media. That's where they love to come after you. And they say, you know, well, I'm just seeking truth. Things like, you know, what you see with the Charlie Kirk trial and literally evidence being presented in court and they still won't accept it. And they say, well, there's nothing wrong with still seeking truth. And I think, but at some point, if hard evidence is being presented in a court of law and you have been...
- 9:28you know, from the start saying, you know, we, we want law and order. We, we, we want these things to be, you know, people to be held accountable. And then when things are presented in a court of law, you reject them. Who's the anarchist now, right? Because now you're rejecting law and order and, and making yourself the arbiter of truth. And that's the scary thing that we're, we're seeing this now from within the Christian community, people attacking and, and, and,
- 9:58You know, and saying, well, what's wrong with asking questions? There's nothing wrong with asking questions, but what is your baseline of truth? Right? So if you can't agree on the baseline of what is true, then you'll never come to any kind of an agreement with people.
- 10:14Yeah, there is one truth, and God's Word is perfect. God's Word is truth. The Bible says about itself. I mean, Psalm 119 is an amazing psalm, but what God thinks about His Word, if you guys want to brush up on that, those who are watching and listening. So I do want to talk more about the Charlie Kirk trial and just some of the responses, some of the...
- 10:36I almost said, you know what? They are wackos. There are some people that I don't know why conspiracy theories. They and then to see the evidence presented and you're going, how could they? But they stirred up the pot. They stirred people up. And I think that's that was so unhealthy and unnecessary. But let's go back a little bit. You guys, I want to talk more about your process of putting together a documentary, because you said, Mark, you don't script things out.
- 11:00which most movies or TV shows will do, so you know where you're going, you know exactly what cut you want. You guys go and interview people about the theme or about the project, about whatever you're doing, in this case, spiritual warfare, for principalities,
- 11:16And then you're putting this together and you said something very interesting to me and I want you to elaborate. You said you actually have to listen to the responses of the people you're interviewing and go ahead and share more about that because that's very unique to me.
- 11:34It's sad that that's a unique aspect, right? That you'll sit and listen. I guess, maybe showing my age, but I came up where that's how you did things. It's one thing, you know, in film, for example, there's two broad categories. There's scripted and unscripted.
- 11:54Right. Scripted is your movies. You start with a script. Everybody's got their lines. You cast the characters, you know. Right. And so with a scripted film, as a director, you can hand off that footage to an editor with a script and the editor can start cutting the thing together without you there because it's that you've laid it out. Here's the instructions on how to put this together. And I'm I'm giving you the pieces. Now put it together.
- 12:18unscripted is totally different. And, and we've so lost perspective of this because of the onslaught of this, this plague of what I call reality television that started in the nineties, you know, all the Fox series, for example, this reality television that was not reality at all. It was all scripted. It was all planned. Yeah. Yeah. And so we've lost perspective on this and the vast majority of documentary unscripted reality TV that you watch, um,
- 12:47is so staged. Everything. We saw it when we were being interviewed by a German television station for Inwood Drive, our first film, about the abortion doctor. And they sent a woman and a crew over and she was interviewing us and she kept trying to prompt us to... She would ask us a question, we would answer, and then she would say, okay, let's go back. Say it like this.
- 13:14Oh, no! And we kept bringing Christ into the conversation and she would go, okay, stop. Your German audience, they don't want to hear about that. Say it more like this. And we would ignore her and say what we were going to say. And that piece never went to air because we refused to cooperate with her, right? Yeah. We don't do that. I mean, you've been interviewed by us. We come in and we say, in general, here's what we're talking about. And here's why we want to talk to you. Here's how we think you can talk about this subject.
- 13:44And then we let you run in your lane and your expertise in that. But we don't go back and say, say that again this way. Wow. Wow. So what's interesting also to me about your method and the way you do it is if we are believers in Christ—
- 14:02We have the Holy Spirit in us that guides us into all truth and directs us, will give us the words to speak, will direct conversations. And something you said in an email you sent me, Mark, you said you end up finding the storyline that the Lord has given you. Okay.
- 14:22So go ahead, Amber, either one of you talk a little bit more about that, because that is what you guys do. You're not going with with, you know, preconceived ideas. This is how it's going to happen from start to finish. You say, OK, Lord, what do you want to get out of this? That's kind of what I do for this podcast. But go ahead and share more about that.
- 14:41Well, it's really interesting because every time we, you know, we are so prayerful as to who's even going to be in a film. It's like, Lord, who, who, I mean, and we've gotten people who, you know, likewise, there's no way we would have been able to reach them. I remember doing the Mind Polluters and Ken Ham is a really hard person to tack down and get him into a film. Yes.
- 15:03You know, it just so happened, you know, we were sitting and praying about it. We had watched him on a series. And I remember just looking at Mark and I said, he really needs to be in the mind polluters. And we prayed about it and prayed about it. So Mark reached out. And sure enough, they wrote back and they said, and they even said in the email, they're like, you know, this doesn't usually happen. He's not usually available. But, you know, if you can make it here at this time and day. And we're like, oh.
- 15:26We are there. Yes. But you know, you just realize, you know, we've been doing this long enough. We're just very prayerful about every conversation that we go into. There's not really an agenda other than what the topic that we know that the Lord has asked us to speak on. And then whoever the Lord is directing us to sit down and speak with, again, like Mark said, letting them run in their lane. What are you, what has the Lord gifted you in that you can share this information to be a part of this? Yeah.
- 15:55puzzle that all fits together because it really is so many different pieces. And there are times, you know, we sit down and it's just the two of us. It's just Mark and I. So from concept to completion, and then we add in the other characters, if you will, those who we are interviewing, who, you know, we really get to know. But it's one of those things where you just sit there and when we're done with the conversation and I'll look at Mark and I go, I have no idea what that was about. And...
- 16:25So we go back in and once we're in post and then to watch this stuff come together and you just go, oh, my gosh, that was incredible. You don't even know while you're sitting there where it's going to fit in because it's all unscripted. Right. We're not working on a deadline because those those scripted.
- 16:46programs, they have a deadline. They know when they're coming out. Just like we just said, you know, we've had setbacks. We thought it was going to be a little bit sooner, but unfortunately it's not, but it's all in the Lord's timing. It's not up to us, you know, give him the glory and let it be the way he wants it. And so, um, that's, that's just what I, I, especially these, these interviews. I mean, it's really, it's really incredible when it starts to come together and just knowing that.
- 17:12the impact that it can have on people's lives to help them see and just thread that all the way through so that they can understand really what this looks like. Absolutely. I can't wait to see it. And by the way, I want to put in a plug for a movie night in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Our church, One Way Christian Church, will be showing The Mind Polluters on Wednesday, July 29.
- 17:36Wednesday, July 29. So you can go to One Way Christian Church, I believe it's 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, movie night. The Mind Polluters will be featured there at my church, Pastor David Roth, who is also a friend of our podcast, and he's going to be on the show soon again.
- 18:00What was I going to ask you? I was going to ask you something to follow up on something that Amber said. Mark, first, do you want to comment more about what she was sharing and how just God puts this together? It's not your schedule and your agenda and your script is not set in stone, obviously. And you end up getting the finished product and going, wow, that had to be God, right? Really, when you start it,
- 18:24You know, people will always try to guess, you know, what the film is going to be when you tell them the title as you're first starting and they, oh, it's going to be about this. It's going to be about this. And I go, I don't even know what it's going to be about, honestly, because we have a general idea. It's, you know, the Lord kind of gives it to you. It says it's this. I want you to talk to these people.
- 18:45And so we're looking for people that have a unique perspective on it. And we go and we talk to them. And like she said, sometimes you get down and you go, I don't know. What did we talk to him about? I don't know. But I trust that the Lord was in it and it'll be good. And there are some times you get back and you go, I don't even remember.
- 19:02What we're talking about. And then you start going through it and you go, huh, I don't remember him saying that. Then as you go through editing, and it might be a month later when you get back to putting that person into the film and you're working on one section and then...
- 19:19And virtually every day you'll be working on a section, and then you reach a point where you have kind of a major transition. And I'll stop and I'll stare, and Amber will attest to this, and I'll stand up and I'll go out to the kitchen and go, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do next. I'm done for the day. Yeah. Right? And then you pray about it, and then the next morning you go back and watch what you did. And then it's like the Lord is revealing to you this is...
- 19:45This is what you're doing. Right. And so a lot of times then the next day I'll go back and look at it and I'll go, are you kidding me? That's so that's where this guy comes in. I can just hear the Lord going, yes, yes. Go get that clip. Now put it here. Because the whole time before I start editing every day, I say, Lord, this is your film, not mine. So show me the edits. Yeah.
- 20:09And that's the amazing thing is to watch the process. So to us, it's like you come back with a jigsaw puzzle, a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle, right? And you start trying to find pieces and you're going, where am I going to start? And in the meantime, the Lord is...
- 20:25He's putting together the edges. And then he goes, look, look at this piece over here. And you go, what? What? This? Oh, that one goes there. Oh, wait, this one goes here. This one goes here. And it starts coming together and you start to see it. Awesome. Well, we're looking forward to seeing that and talking about it here on the podcast when it's done and having you guys come up to Green Bay for what do you call it? Are you premiering it here or are you just going to have a showing?
- 20:55Well, it'll be the Wisconsin premiere for sure. The Wisconsin premiere. Awesome. All right, Green Bay friends, One Way Christian Church. So let's talk more now for the rest of the podcast about what we started off a little bit earlier talking about, because I think we can't emphasize this enough, the need for true biblical discernment and what's going on in the news and worldview. It comes back to worldview as well, because some people just get...
- 21:23sucked into the hype that what did you say pre-established narratives and in this context now we're talking about what happened to Charlie Kirk almost a year ago and the trial is going on and
- 21:38It's just sad what people were putting out there. And Mark, I think, Mark and Amber, I think some people were doing it for the clicks and the views and the controversy, right? Shame on them. But anyway, whatever you want to share about that, I've got a few questions about it, too.
- 21:57I think it's interesting how, you know, Proverbs talks about this. There's a proverb that says the first to present his case seems right till another comes along and questions him. And what you saw was, you know, the Tucker Carlson's and the Candace Owens of the world who were the first to present their case.
- 22:16and convincing millions of people that this is really what happened. And now that the evidence has been presented and they're silent on the evidence and their only response is,
- 22:28Well, but how do we know that that's really true? Right. And you're going, you literally are destroying your credibility right now because you're, you've just shown that you're not about evidence. You're not about the truth. You're about, and here's what it is. It's pride because they have so dug their heels in as to, I know what happened.
- 22:51Let's just point out, and the defense has not used any of their quote-unquote evidence. Steve Dace, I posted a clip of Steve Dace, and he made such a good point. He was calling out Candace specifically, and he said, so if your evidence is so incontrovertible, why hasn't the prosecution, why hasn't the defense called you as an expert witness? Why aren't they calling you...
- 23:15and saying, please give us your evidence because we need it in a court of law. Oh, I know because it's just your opinion.
- 23:21because you have no evidence. And so many people, even that commented after that and saying, you know, you're telling me I'm wrong. You're 100% wrong. Well, first of all, I didn't say it. I just reposted what he said. And the fact that their argument doesn't make any sense. They're saying, you know, well, we're just seeking truth. And I'm going, but if you can't accept truth,
- 23:49Truth and evidence in a court of law. I'm not sure. I would like to know what would convince you. Yeah. It's amazing. And it's pride because they've so dug in that this is how it is. They're not going to change things.
- 24:04Wow. And that's so sad, too. So, Tucker Carlson, I mean, I've seen just such a sad—what's the word? Not transformation. Regression? Progression? I don't know what it is in both him and Candace Owens over the last three to five years. It's been really—
- 24:22disappointing but interesting to watch. Do you think, now, to my knowledge, they both believe they are Christians, and is that kind of ruining the credibility for the believers? Is that turning people off because they're just getting off on some of these conspiracy theories? They're so anti-Israel, and some of this stuff just seems hateful.
- 24:49in a way. You said pride. You're absolutely right. So do you think this is affecting the credibility of true believers or not?
- 24:58Oh, absolutely. And I think, you know, you can add to that the flat earthers. There's another one where we've seen people just, and they try to make a, you know, a biblical argument and you look at it and you go, you are so ruining not only your own credibility, but making Christians look so foolish right now.
- 25:28It's we always say there are conspiracies all over. The difference is it can between a conspiracy and a conspiracy theory is whether or not you can prove it. The conspiracy theory is I don't have any hard proof, but this is what I speculate is happening. But there are conspiracies. And I mean, we we expose them all the time.
- 25:50Um, but it, it's amazing when you deal with somebody who is so dug in and you present them the truth and, and it doesn't matter that, you know, you can say, but here they, but they presented these facts in a court of law and their response is, well, of course, that's what they want you to think. Right. And if you believe you're part of the problem too. And that's when you just have to walk away and go. Yeah.
- 26:12I can't talk to you. You're a fool. You've lost your mind now. The enemy is pulling out all the stops here. Talk about principalities. There are demons being, I don't want to say exposed, because I don't think the church is doing a great job with discernment and exposing the darkness or the deeds of darkness or these minions. Amber, what do you think? Real quick, we just have a minute left. Sorry to give you such little time.
- 26:39No, that's okay. I think what I will say is it was interesting. Mark and I were studying through 1 Kings 22 this morning, and it was King Ahab who asked the 400 advisors, and they were all telling him, no, go ahead and go to war, and the Lord will give the land into your hands. And there was one man who told him no.
- 26:59And Ahab kept saying, well, this man never speaks good of me. You know, I told you he doesn't he never says anything good. And I think that's what we if you know the truth and you're rooted in Scripture, then you are the one who should be the watchman sounding the alarm to everybody else is is what I will say. It's stay rooted in the word, friends. That's that's what I can say. So is that a little bit of what you talked about on your podcast? Ezekiel's Watchman Warning?
- 27:25A little bit. We didn't talk about the Ahab. Yeah, we didn't go through the first Kings reference, but we were talking about Ezekiel. Awesome. Well, guys, thank you so much. By the way, I want to mention Mark's book, Compromised, A Prodigal's Journey Home. You can get that on their website, fearlessfeatures.org. It is on Amazon as well. God bless you guys. Thank you so much for all you do. Continued progress and good success with completing principalities, and we appreciate your time. Thank you, David.
- 27:54All right. God bless you, friends. As always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter. See you next time.
