- 0:26Speaker 2: So we got a note. I love your notes. I
- 0:28Speaker 2: don't find this to be criticism. I find it to
- 0:30Speaker 2: be really constructive. I keep mispronouncing the name Jennifer Gardener.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I put a D in it, Jennifer Gardener with yen thumbs,
- 0:44Speaker 2: and our friend has let us know that it is
- 0:47Speaker 2: Jennifer God no no d no g no d D.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I'm not good at names, Corey. For a long time
- 0:56Speaker 2: I was calling you Corey Andrews with a like Julia.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I don't want to say anything you must say.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Don't be honestly, everybody, don't be shy about saying stuff,
- 1:06Speaker 2: because it's really helpful. I don't take this.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Stuff as like a criticism.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I take it as an opportunity to grow and get
- 1:13Speaker 2: it right.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So Jennifer Garner.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Well just remember the oh my gosh, I can't think
- 1:19Speaker 1: of his name, but the guy from Sex and the City.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Remember he went, yes, Willy Willy, Look we're Gonson.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I remember when you interviewed him.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And he will no because remember I just had his
- 1:33Speaker 1: name wrong by mistake, and he went it ended up
- 1:35Speaker 1: in page six because he came from me. He was like,
- 1:38Speaker 1: get my name right, girl. I was like, oh my gosh, Willie.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Garson, let's jump into the show. What time is it,
- 1:46Speaker 2: my friends, It is tea time. Tina Turner's cause of
- 1:50Speaker 2: death has been revealed just one day after she passed away,
- 1:54Speaker 2: so the music icon't and we can use that term
- 1:57Speaker 2: officially with Tina to died on May twenty fourth of
- 2:03Speaker 2: natural causes. Her rep has said she was eighty three
- 2:08Speaker 2: years old. She died in her mansion, her seventy six
- 2:13Speaker 2: million dollar mansion nea Zurich in Switzerland.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Goodness.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Note, she worked her tail off for many years and
- 2:19Speaker 2: she earned every single penny, so I'm glad that she
- 2:23Speaker 2: was enjoying it. Her rep previously said that she had
- 2:27Speaker 2: been battling a long illness, but didn't go into details.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I have a few stories here that I just want
- 2:33Speaker 2: to share. Prince William noted that Simply the Best was
- 2:37Speaker 2: one of his favorite songs in Princess Diana used to
- 2:40Speaker 2: play it in the car when she was driving the
- 2:43Speaker 2: kids to school.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 2:45Speaker 2: William said he would get nervous going to school with
- 2:48Speaker 2: the new kids. Said Diana wanted him and Harry to
- 2:51Speaker 2: know they were simply the best, and he said they
- 2:54Speaker 2: would play that song on the drive to school with
- 2:57Speaker 2: their mom.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Singing it, screaming the sweet.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Of their lugs.
- 3:02Speaker 2: He eased his nerves when he arrived at class. Also
- 3:06Speaker 2: to Tina Turner told Cher and Oprah that she was
- 3:10Speaker 2: ready to die after battling a long illness. Cher said
- 3:14Speaker 2: she once told me, I'm really ready. I don't want
- 3:18Speaker 2: to put up with this anymore.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Added that things were so bad towards the end that
- 3:25Speaker 2: Tina had a dialysis machine in her home. Also to Oprah,
- 3:30Speaker 2: who was a very close friend of Tina Turner, she
- 3:32Speaker 2: mentioned in a separate interviewer that the Proud Mary hitmaker
- 3:37Speaker 2: expressed similar sentiments. Rest in peace, Tina Turner. What do
- 3:42Speaker 2: you think about her as a musician, Corey. I know
- 3:45Speaker 2: you're a musician yourself. Did she have any impact on you? Oh?
- 3:48Speaker 1: My goodness, yes, because I'm more of a soul influenced
- 3:52Speaker 1: rock artist myself, So that rock and roll component that
- 3:55Speaker 1: Tina Turner brought to the table. It was an inspiration
- 3:58Speaker 1: from me as a black man because on a rock too,
- 4:00Speaker 1: we're not all singing R and B and hip hop, right,
- 4:03Speaker 1: And Tina Turner was a.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Rock star, but she was also older.
- 4:06Speaker 1: She was this anomaly, like a rock and roll grandma
- 4:09Speaker 1: in a way, because I was a kid when she
- 4:11Speaker 1: first came out. She was forty years old already, right,
- 4:14Speaker 1: So watched big influence and I just love her to death.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I love it.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yeah, people forget that when she really hit her heights
- 4:23Speaker 2: of success, she was forty four years old, which you'd
- 4:25Speaker 2: be unheard of today.
- 4:27Speaker 3: You couldn't get on the chance.
- 4:29Speaker 1: No, not even on the radio, No you would.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Radio would not.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Play you if you're forty four years old. And that's
- 4:34Speaker 2: when she really was just taking off.
- 4:37Speaker 3: So I love her.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I've been playing her music little a little later on
- 4:41Speaker 2: an A show, we have a poll about your favorite
- 4:44Speaker 2: Tina Turner song, So think of yours, Corey, don't tell
- 4:46Speaker 2: me just yet, but we'll get to that a little
- 4:49Speaker 2: later on the show. Okay, moving along. Britney Spears has
- 4:52Speaker 2: reunited with her mom after a long long feud. So
- 4:56Speaker 2: Brittany reunited with her mom Lynne after Lynn asked for
- 5:01Speaker 2: a reconciliation. So we've seen photographs on TMZ of Lynn.
- 5:05Speaker 2: She was driven to her daughter's home by an uber,
- 5:09Speaker 2: so she arrived in La, went to Britney's manager's house,
- 5:13Speaker 2: and then took an uber to Britney's house.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Spears and her mother spent about twenty minutes, half an
- 5:20Speaker 2: hour and not that long together and Britney's husband Sam
- 5:24Speaker 2: was present. Sauces close to the Spears family is saying
- 5:28Speaker 2: the mother and daughter have been texting each other lately
- 5:31Speaker 2: and Lynn is quote committed to making it right with
- 5:35Speaker 2: her daughter, so they've been exchanging text messages. This has
- 5:40Speaker 2: been a really rough relationship. At one point, Brittney really
- 5:44Speaker 2: went after her mom very very aggressively, saying it was
- 5:47Speaker 2: actually her mom who came up with the idea of
- 5:50Speaker 2: the conservatorship and not her father. She broke her silence.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Late last night, Britney took to Instagram to address the visit,
- 6:02Speaker 2: saying that they're trying to make it right.
- 6:04Speaker 3: This is really sweet.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Quote my sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday
- 6:09Speaker 2: after three years. It's been such a long time. She
- 6:12Speaker 2: shared this with a beautiful throwback picture of herself as
- 6:15Speaker 2: a child. She added quote with family, there's always things
- 6:20Speaker 2: that need to be worked out, but time heals wounds.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And after being able to communicate what I've held in
- 6:29Speaker 2: for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we
- 6:34Speaker 2: are able to try and make things right.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Wow, that's amazing. I just don't trust either of her parents.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm like they've been through so much, but
- 6:47Speaker 1: her parents have always seemed to me to be a
- 6:50Speaker 1: little predatory. You know, the money. It's always about some
- 6:54Speaker 1: sort of they need money for something or payments for something,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and then.
- 6:57Speaker 3: They'll love her, right, it's right.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah, wouldn't it be lovely if they can put the
- 7:03Speaker 2: money to one side and actually have a relationship that
- 7:06Speaker 2: isn't based on cash. Yeah, I'm praying for this. I
- 7:10Speaker 2: know through members of my own family and friends, people
- 7:14Speaker 2: that don't make peace with their family. I'm not saying
- 7:17Speaker 2: you've all got to be the best of friends, but
- 7:19Speaker 2: people who have not made peace with their past in general,
- 7:23Speaker 2: not just their family, can never be happy in the present.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And so I want Britney to be happy now, and
- 7:29Speaker 2: I don't think she'll ever get there unless she really
- 7:31Speaker 2: deals with this awful traumatic past, and I love the
- 7:35Speaker 2: fact that Britney is telling us she did talk to
- 7:38Speaker 2: her mom and she got this stuff out that she'd
- 7:41Speaker 2: been holding inside for a really long time. It is
- 7:45Speaker 2: good to talk about stuff, even the bad stuff.
- 7:49Speaker 3: My friends.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I know it's awkward, I know it's embarrassing, I know
- 7:52Speaker 2: it's uncomfortable. But when you tell the truth, when you
- 7:56Speaker 2: get it out, you can start to heal, Which brings
- 7:58Speaker 2: us to our whole question. The day Britness medias has
- 8:01Speaker 2: reunited with her mom after their really three year feud.
- 8:05Speaker 2: It's been going on a really long time. Is this
- 8:08Speaker 2: a good idea or a bad idea? Go vote on
- 8:12Speaker 2: our Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob Our facebook page
- 8:15Speaker 2: is naughty year zimb and be sure it's check back
- 8:17Speaker 2: on Monday to hear your results.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Cory, what have you been working on?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yes?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yes, well you know. Back to Tina Turner, our rock
- 8:26Speaker 1: icon goddess, Tina Turner said she always had a crush
- 8:30Speaker 1: on Mick Jagger. Now, she made this big revelation just
- 8:33Speaker 1: one month before her death, and in an interview with
- 8:36Speaker 1: the Guardian, she actually said that he was her celebrity crush.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Mick Jagger. Can you imagine so she says, I loved
- 8:42Speaker 1: when we toured with the Rolling Stones. Now, of course,
- 8:46Speaker 1: Tina Turner passed away at age eighty three on Wednesday,
- 8:49Speaker 1: but she revealed this to The Guardian. Now, Jagger and
- 8:52Speaker 1: Turner they shared the stage a handful of times, but
- 8:54Speaker 1: their most important performance was at Live Aid nineteen eighty
- 8:58Speaker 1: five at Wimbley Stadium. What amazing show and what an
- 9:02Speaker 1: amazing performance. So it was at this UK stadium with
- 9:04Speaker 1: a rock stars. He ripped off Tina's skirt while they
- 9:07Speaker 1: were singing It's only rock and roll and it's an
- 9:09Speaker 1: amazing moment because she had that killer body in like
- 9:12Speaker 1: a leotard in a body suit. But Tina recalled that
- 9:15Speaker 1: night in her twenty eighteen memoir and she wrote, he
- 9:17Speaker 1: looked over at me. I was wearing a tight fitting
- 9:20Speaker 1: black leathertop and a skirt, and I could see a
- 9:23Speaker 1: naughty idea for me. Does that skirt come off?
- 9:26Speaker 3: He asked?
- 9:26Speaker 1: And I said what? And it was then that Jagger
- 9:30Speaker 1: said to Turner, I'm gonna take your skirt off. I
- 9:33Speaker 1: asked him why, but it was too late to talk
- 9:34Speaker 1: it through because Mick had already made his mind up
- 9:37Speaker 1: and it was done so, but it's a great moment.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I know it sounds a little crass, but it was
- 9:41Speaker 1: all showmanship. It was all fun, and you know, she
- 9:45Speaker 1: had his She was prepared for that moment.
- 9:47Speaker 2: She was prepared, she consented, she knew it was gonna happen,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and then she ripped his shirt off. Yeah, so after
- 9:52Speaker 2: he took her. That's got such a moment. I've been
- 9:54Speaker 2: reading so much about Tina the first woman, the first
- 9:57Speaker 2: black woman too, to ever be on the cover of
- 9:59Speaker 2: Rolling Stone. I read to an amazing story where she
- 10:03Speaker 2: credits David Bowie with her career. So after she lost
- 10:06Speaker 2: her record label, after she broke up with she couldn't
- 10:09Speaker 2: get a label. Nobody wanted to sign a forty year
- 10:11Speaker 2: old woman, Yeah, a black woman. It just wasn't gonna happen.
- 10:14Speaker 2: So what happened is David Bowie signed his record deal
- 10:17Speaker 2: and the night that he signed the deal actually signed it,
- 10:21Speaker 2: he was going to go out to celebrate with all
- 10:23Speaker 2: the executives, but he canceled. He said, Oh, I can't
- 10:25Speaker 2: come because I've got tickets to night to see my
- 10:27Speaker 2: favorite performer, Tina Turner. He brought all the executives with him,
- 10:32Speaker 2: and that really helped Tina.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I loved that.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Isn't that amazing that David Bowie was the one that
- 10:38Speaker 2: helped her out? She said, people really rallied around her.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Plus two, Let's be honest, we all loved her. But
- 10:44Speaker 2: withinside the music business, she was adored. She was a
- 10:48Speaker 2: musician's musician. Everybody was in awe of her talent, not
- 10:53Speaker 2: just the public, not just the people that bought the records,
- 10:55Speaker 2: but the people that made records. To be around Tina
- 10:59Speaker 2: was just a privilege. Hey, moving along, this story about
- 11:03Speaker 2: vander Pomperu has been really exploded.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I don't really.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Watch the show, but I watched a little bit of
- 11:09Speaker 2: the reunion. It made me very uncomfortable, but I didn't watch. Now,
- 11:12Speaker 2: Ariana has revealed exactly how much money she's made since
- 11:16Speaker 2: the scandal broke. So she was asked by Andy Cohen.
- 11:19Speaker 2: He asked her out right, how's your merchandise going. She
- 11:21Speaker 2: started up a sandwich shop with her friend. They sold
- 11:24Speaker 2: about two hundred thousand dollars worth of T shirts. But
- 11:27Speaker 2: that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm told too
- 11:30Speaker 2: that she's in talks to do Dancing with the Star endorsements.
- 11:35Speaker 3: She literally went from pay to profit.
- 11:39Speaker 2: These reality stars know how to make a dollar. But
- 11:43Speaker 2: get this, this is where she's really going to make
- 11:45Speaker 2: serious money. So this show rated huge. It was sort
- 11:50Speaker 2: of like not quite The Housewives. The Housewives was Brathers
- 11:53Speaker 2: big franchise. Now I would argue Vander pump Rus have
- 11:57Speaker 2: eclipsed The Housewives. It's the number one show on the network.
- 12:00Speaker 2: They all made about twenty five thousand dollars an episode.
- 12:03Speaker 2: But now they are renegotiating their contracts and I would
- 12:07Speaker 2: guess that Ariana is gonna get herself a big fat Oh.
- 12:13Speaker 3: My goodness, of course.
- 12:14Speaker 1: You know what reminds me of the first season of
- 12:16Speaker 1: The Jersey Shore when those kids had gotten signed for
- 12:20Speaker 1: twenty eight thousand thousand episode and by season two they
- 12:23Speaker 1: were making one million dollars per episode. Wow, it's very that.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It's very It's amazing, is it. Bethany frankelized Friends with
- 12:30Speaker 2: Bethany the first two years of Housewives.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Not so much now as you all know, but back
- 12:35Speaker 3: then I was.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Bethany told me she made seventeen thousand for the whole
- 12:38Speaker 2: season for episode the whole season, that's all she made.
- 12:43Speaker 2: And then these ladies went up to make a lot
- 12:45Speaker 2: more than that. Hey, moving along once would be Golmberg
- 12:49Speaker 2: have to say about American Idol, Yeah, you know, will
- 12:51Speaker 2: be god work.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I love her, but she's just becoming like this sort
- 12:54Speaker 1: of like cantankerous lady every now and then. I know,
- 12:57Speaker 1: she's like creaky ye, she's like, get off my lawn,
- 13:00Speaker 1: crazy kids. But anyway, Whoopy Goldberg has been trashing American
- 13:03Speaker 1: Idol in an awkward exchange. She recently actually had an
- 13:07Speaker 1: awkward exchange in which she trashed American Idol on the
- 13:10Speaker 1: View Now. She was forced to backtrack though after trashing
- 13:13Speaker 1: the show, and she called it the downfall of society.
- 13:17Speaker 1: With an awkward exchange with her producer of the show Now,
- 13:20Speaker 1: Goldberg was talking to her co host about a recent
- 13:22Speaker 1: Netflix documentary that dwelled on the final days of Anna
- 13:26Speaker 1: Nicole Smith's life, when she came to the conclusion that,
- 13:30Speaker 1: you know, society likes to be judgy, and Whoopy says,
- 13:34Speaker 1: people watch these shows because they make them feel better.
- 13:36Speaker 1: She went on, I think that we as a society
- 13:40Speaker 1: love to watch stuff just to judge folks, and then
- 13:43Speaker 1: we'll be revealed the exact point in time that she
- 13:45Speaker 1: believes audiences became too quick to pass judgment. She says,
- 13:49Speaker 1: you know, I've always thought that the beginning of the
- 13:51Speaker 1: downfall of society was with what the name of that show?
- 13:56Speaker 1: I always tell you that. Now she was saying this
- 13:58Speaker 1: to her producer, Brian Teita. Now apparently she had been
- 14:01Speaker 1: talking to Brian about this before, because Brian knew exactly
- 14:04Speaker 1: the show she was talking about, and he goes ABC's
- 14:06Speaker 1: American Idol, and the audience laughed as the producer clearly
- 14:10Speaker 1: attempted to remind wood Be that ABC and Disney are
- 14:14Speaker 1: sort of the same company, and that's also who backs
- 14:17Speaker 1: the view and produces the view. So it was a
- 14:20Speaker 1: clear attempt to come, you know, for her to backtrack.
- 14:23Speaker 1: But you know, basically, I think he was telling what
- 14:26Speaker 1: will be like to cool it, like, don't bite the
- 14:27Speaker 1: hand that feeds you. But I'd think he has a
- 14:30Speaker 1: little bit of a point, you know. Simon Cowell made
- 14:32Speaker 1: us very sort of he turned criticism and judgment into entertainment,
- 14:36Speaker 1: he did.
- 14:37Speaker 3: And she's not wrong. She's not wrong.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I'm not sure i'd bite the hand that feeds me,
- 14:41Speaker 2: but I'm not sure if they're paying my bills. Gets
- 14:43Speaker 2: her check each week each.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Month from the same single.
- 14:46Speaker 2: But to American Idol, so tread carefully, there will be
- 14:49Speaker 2: but I all sorts of love to.
- 14:51Speaker 3: She doesn't know anybody anything. She's no Goldberg.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Say what you think girl, That's what I love about her.
- 14:59Speaker 3: But the producer it got really good.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 2: He was like ABC's yeah in the ABC building.
- 15:08Speaker 3: It made me.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Laugh out lad and would be not wrong, not wrong.
- 15:13Speaker 3: No, no no.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But and also it used to be on Fox originally,
- 15:16Speaker 1: we should say the show was on Fox first from
- 15:18Speaker 1: two thousand and two to twenty sixteen. But listen when
- 15:21Speaker 1: I watched the Color Purple trailer coming out now with
- 15:23Speaker 1: the Fantasia Marino and Jennifer Hudson is a big oscar
- 15:26Speaker 1: winner like the early days of American Idol. Let's not
- 15:29Speaker 1: pretend it did not create some megastars, Carrie Underwe, Kelly Clarkson,
- 15:35Speaker 1: look the show did it was a shirt.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, Ruben, I still have him. Clay Akaye Oprah
- 15:42Speaker 2: recently said, which I thought was fascinating. Tina Turner turned
- 15:46Speaker 2: down the role.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Of the Color Yes. I did read that because she
- 15:50Speaker 1: was going to play Sugar Avery and she didn't want
- 15:52Speaker 1: to relive her own trauma as an abused wife. So
- 15:56Speaker 1: she said no, she was different choices.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Wow, amazing.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Okay, we're gonna take quick break and we will be
- 16:01Speaker 2: right back. Welcome back to the Naughty Bit Nicer Um
- 16:04Speaker 2: rub Shooter with idea friend Cory Andrew.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Hey, Corey, let's get to the polls.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Yesterday we asked you what's your favorite Tina Turner song?
- 16:11Speaker 2: We have a ton of responses here, the best, What's
- 16:14Speaker 2: love got to do with it? Lots of songs popping up, Corey,
- 16:18Speaker 2: what's one of your favorites?
- 16:19Speaker 3: Well?
- 16:19Speaker 1: I took the poll, but I had to say there
- 16:21Speaker 1: were too many for me to choose from. But I
- 16:23Speaker 1: do I love one and my favorite, I think I
- 16:25Speaker 1: would say, is one card. What you get is what
- 16:27Speaker 1: you see and it's a great little rock and roll,
- 16:30Speaker 1: hockey talk video and song. Google it.
- 16:35Speaker 2: River Deep, Mountain High, Croud Mary, who can come crowd Mary?
- 16:43Speaker 1: That's the one.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Just too many. Thank you for all the music, Tina.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Don't forget to vote on today's pole Twitter page. Naughty
- 16:51Speaker 2: Nicer are by Facebook page and already got it and
- 16:53Speaker 2: me sure to check back on Monday to hear your results.
- 16:57Speaker 3: And now it's it's time of the d.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Yes, and it was, you know, with such a nice
- 17:05Speaker 1: young lady, Miss Taylor Swift. So, Taylor Swift and Maddy Healy,
- 17:09Speaker 1: they were seen kissing during a night out with their
- 17:12Speaker 1: friends in New York City. They were doing a little
