- 0:01Speaker 1: This is The Mark Simone.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Show on 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Well, hey, it's Friday. That's the good news. It's Friday.
- 0:12Speaker 3: The bad news, it's going to be a rainy, messy weekend.
- 0:14Speaker 3: But we've got a lot to get to today. We'll
- 0:17Speaker 3: get to President Xi of China, his visit to the
- 0:19Speaker 3: White House. A lot happened there. We'll get to the U.N.
- 0:23Speaker 3: This should be the final day of total gridlock U.N.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Week.
- 0:26Speaker 3: They're all starting to leave over the weekend. We'll get
- 0:29Speaker 3: to Netanyahu's speech yesterday. We have all these TV channels
- 0:35Speaker 3: on here. We've got all these different TV screens. Now,
- 0:38Speaker 3: the left wing, the left wing, ooh, they hated that
- 0:40Speaker 3: Netanyahu speech. Look at this. New York One, that little,
- 0:43Speaker 3: little tiny New York One is the most biased left-wing network.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Look at the headline they put on the button. Netanyahu
- 0:51Speaker 3: fuels tensions and creates backlash. And it was actually quite
- 0:57Speaker 3: a heroic speech from Netanyahu New York One making him
- 1:00Speaker 3: look like some sort of villain. And then they immediately
- 1:03Speaker 3: cut to Mamdani saying that Netanyahu's lying speech, blatant lies,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and he tried to whitewash the genocide that Israel has committed.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You can get a lot of that crap from the real, real,
- 1:17Speaker 3: real left-wing television. It was quite a speech. It was
- 1:22Speaker 3: a powerful speech as Netanyahu got up to speak. Half
- 1:26Speaker 3: the UN General Assembly walked out. They got up and
- 1:29Speaker 3: walked out. Many different nations, their delegates walked out. Before
- 1:34Speaker 3: Netanyahu even spoke, as soon as he got to the podium,
- 1:38Speaker 3: they walked out. It's a very anti-Semitic place, that UN.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Very anti-Semitic. Always has been since its creation. And as
- 1:46Speaker 3: Netanyahu gets up, he must have expected some walkouts, but
- 1:50Speaker 3: it was half the room. And Netanyahu said, Mr.
- 1:53Speaker 5: President.
- 1:56Speaker 6: Before I begin, just a quick announcement. If there are
- 2:02Speaker 6: any other moral cowards who haven't yet left this hall,
- 2:06Speaker 6: please do so now.
- 2:08Speaker 7: Thank you very much.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Perfect. Absolutely perfect. And it was quite a speech. Very powerful.
- 2:18Speaker 3: And we'll play a lot of it throughout the show
- 2:20Speaker 3: this morning. And he stood up for Israel and said,
- 2:24Speaker 3: You know, the problem is for the anti-Semitic haters, nothing's
- 2:28Speaker 3: going to persuade them on anything. But he did point
- 2:31Speaker 3: out that the genocide was against Israel. The worst Holocaust
- 2:37Speaker 3: since the Hitler-not-Holocaust took place on October 7th. Israel's response
- 2:43Speaker 3: was as careful and as cautious as could be.
- 2:46Speaker 6: To the protesters outside, to the hypocritical delegates who left
- 2:52Speaker 6: us all, I asked, where were you when the Iranian
- 2:58Speaker 6: tyrants butchered and maimed tens of thousands of unarmed Iranian civilians?
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah, he made a lot of great points. In Iran,
- 3:09Speaker 3: over the last six months, they have slaughtered in the
- 3:12Speaker 3: street 40,000 of their citizens just for protesting or whatever
- 3:17Speaker 3: reason opposing the government, just slaughtered them. And there were
- 3:20Speaker 3: some protesters, they just opened fire on them and shot
- 3:23Speaker 3: them all. Some survived and ended up in the hospital. Now,
- 3:26Speaker 3: this is an absolute fact. Iran's special Republican guard, whatever
- 3:31Speaker 3: the hell they call it, actually went into the hospitals
- 3:34Speaker 3: and shot those protesters in their hospital bed just to
- 3:37Speaker 3: make sure they were dead. And again, the Susan Sarandans,
- 3:41Speaker 3: the Mamdani's, where were they on this? Netanyahu has a
- 3:43Speaker 3: good point. Where were they on that? They still haven't
- 3:48Speaker 3: condemned it. But the yelling and screaming about Israel, which is,
- 3:53Speaker 3: of course, insane. But it's just fueled on total hatred.
- 3:57Speaker 3: He did go after Mamdani.
- 3:59Speaker 8: Mr.
- 3:59Speaker 6: Mamdani, since you were elected mayor of this city, many
- 4:05Speaker 6: Jews no longer feel safe in New York.
- 4:08Speaker 3: They talk to me. They tell me. This isn't the
- 4:12Speaker 3: city we remember. It changed so quickly. Now, it's no wonder.
- 4:17Speaker 6: You praise criminals convicted of supporting Hamas. You count as
- 4:22Speaker 6: friends people like Hassan Piker, who said America deserved 9-11.
- 4:28Speaker 3: America deserved 9-11. Some friends you have. Yeah, now did
- 4:33Speaker 3: you ever think you'd live to see a New York
- 4:35Speaker 3: City could have a mayor that was openly bigoted, openly racist,
- 4:39Speaker 3: openly anti-Semitic? Did you ever think you'd live to see that?
- 4:42Speaker 3: Where you would brag about his anti-Semitism? A mayor who
- 4:45Speaker 3: would actually engage in actual hate speech. Netanyahu even got
- 4:49Speaker 3: to his wife.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Your wife liked a post praising the October 7th massacre.
- 4:54Speaker 6: She liked another post saying Tel Aviv shouldn't exist. You
- 4:59Speaker 6: refuse to condemn any of that.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a strange world. You've got an actually bigoted,
- 5:07Speaker 3: biased mayor engaging in hate speech. His wife, crazier, well,
- 5:13Speaker 3: as crazy as he is, so. We'll play more of
- 5:15Speaker 3: Netanyahu's speech. It was quite a day. The protesting was
- 5:19Speaker 3: out of control. Netanyahu, he's gone now. He was staying
- 5:22Speaker 3: at the Regency Hotel, 61st and Park, all of Park
- 5:25Speaker 3: Avenue for a couple of blocks, filled with crazy lunatic protesters.
- 5:30Speaker 3: As he came to the UN, the protesters went there.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Many of them were arrested. Susan Sarandon among them. Why,
- 5:38Speaker 3: if this were a few weeks ago, her career was
- 5:40Speaker 3: so bad, people would say, Ah, Susan Sarandon, she can't
- 5:43Speaker 3: even get arrested. Well, it turns out she can. Also,
- 5:46Speaker 3: some of those DSA congressional candidates, what's his name? Dariala
- 5:51Speaker 3: Ziza Avaliva-Chevalier, also detained by NYPD. They were arrested for
- 5:57Speaker 3: blocking a roadway. Linda Sarsour showed up wearing a red hijab,
- 6:03Speaker 3: leading demonstrators. She had all the left-wing crazies out there. Anyway,
- 6:07Speaker 3: we'll get back to that. The other thing that happened yesterday,
- 6:10Speaker 3: of course, was the meeting with China's President Xi Jinping.
- 6:15Speaker 3: It was all day. The President spent the entire day
- 6:18Speaker 3: with him. From morning to night, they had a big
- 6:22Speaker 3: state dinner last night. I'm looking at the guest list.
- 6:24Speaker 3: It was all the big tech leaders. It was a
- 6:29Speaker 3: lot of big CEOs, hedge fund guys. There was Steve Schwartzman.
- 6:34Speaker 3: There was Larry Fink. There were a lot of these
- 6:36Speaker 3: guys there. All the big tech leaders, even the older ones,
- 6:40Speaker 3: Michael Dell, Tim Cook, all the current tech leaders, the
- 6:44Speaker 3: AI guys, the media. Let's see who's on the guest list.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Jesse Waters, Laura Ingram, Brett Baer. The menu. Oh, all
- 6:53Speaker 3: your favorites. All your favorites. First course, yellow squash velouté
- 7:00Speaker 3: with a wild mushroom fricassee. Sounds great, doesn't it? I
- 7:05Speaker 3: don't know what the hell it is. Sounds terrible. Who
- 7:07Speaker 3: the hell wants to eat that? Oh, it's complimented by
- 7:10Speaker 3: crispy pancetta and topped with a drizzle of scallion oil.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I'm sure under the table, the president had a Big
- 7:18Speaker 3: Mac and some filet of fish and some French fries
- 7:22Speaker 3: hidden under the table. It was followed by crusted sea
- 7:25Speaker 3: bass with braised baby bok choy and roasted eggplant. I
- 7:33Speaker 3: guarantee you, Donald Trump now almost 80. He's been in
- 7:37Speaker 3: a billion restaurants, never once, ever said to the waiter,
- 7:42Speaker 3: I'll have the sesame-crusted sea bass. Oh, and bring me
- 7:45Speaker 3: some braised baby bok choy. He's never said that in
- 7:49Speaker 3: his life. For dessert, okay, so this sounds like the
- 7:54Speaker 3: good part. Still don't know what the hell it is.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Vanilla creme you with a sour cherry confit atop a
- 8:01Speaker 3: walnut frangipane. What the hell is that? And served with
- 8:09Speaker 3: White House honey ice cream. Okay, there's one thing you
- 8:11Speaker 3: could eat there. It sounds horrible. Elon Musk was also
- 8:16Speaker 3: there sitting right at the table with Xi Jinping. Now,
- 8:20Speaker 3: you got to spend the whole day with this guy.
- 8:22Speaker 3: He had to go with him to the Smithsonian. They
- 8:25Speaker 3: had one meeting after another. Who the hell, what the
- 8:27Speaker 3: hell would you talk to this guy about all day? Now,
- 8:29Speaker 3: they did have talks, serious talks for an hour here,
- 8:33Speaker 3: hour there, bilateral meetings. And usually you try to, if
- 8:37Speaker 3: you're a president, the formula is your staff and their staff,
- 8:41Speaker 3: you arrange some sort of what they call deliverables. So
- 8:45Speaker 3: at the end of the talks, you can come out
- 8:46Speaker 3: and announce, we've got this accomplished. This is what we got.
- 8:49Speaker 3: It's called a deliverable. And you're supposed to announce a
- 8:52Speaker 3: few of those later. President Trump, of course, doesn't play
- 8:55Speaker 3: by the rules. Not your typical president. Apparently wasn't worried
- 8:58Speaker 3: about that. So they didn't arrange any of that kind
- 9:00Speaker 3: of stuff. And usually they're meaningless anyways. You know, usually
- 9:04Speaker 3: when they come out, it was Bush or Obama or Clinton.
- 9:07Speaker 3: They make the big announcement. Well, we've accomplished. They've agreed
- 9:11Speaker 3: to buy our soybeans. And that's supposed to be the deliverable,
- 9:15Speaker 3: the big, big accomplishment. And if you're not a soybean farmer,
- 9:19Speaker 3: who cares that they're buying our soybeans? Or they announce
- 9:21Speaker 3: we're going to get two pandas from them, something like this.
- 9:25Speaker 3: But it went well. Now, the president toured Xi Jinping
- 9:30Speaker 3: around the White House, showing him everything. And then they
- 9:34Speaker 3: had these ceremonies. They had one where they looked out
- 9:37Speaker 3: over the Rose Garden and out in the Rose Garden
- 9:39Speaker 3: were a million, dozens of these, like in the Revolutionary
- 9:43Speaker 3: War uniforms, these minute men playing the fife and drums, marching.
- 9:47Speaker 3: I don't know what the hell this is. This is
- 9:49Speaker 3: Xi Jinping. He doesn't know what the hell this is
- 9:51Speaker 3: or what he's looking at. But you got to do
- 9:53Speaker 3: something with this guy all day. Then President Trump toured
- 9:58Speaker 3: him around the White House, even took him to the ballpark.
- 10:00Speaker 3: construction site to show him the ballroom he was building.
- 10:03Speaker 3: He's getting a lot of flack for that online. Everybody
- 10:05Speaker 3: making fun of him. Why is he taking him into
- 10:07Speaker 3: a construction zone? Well, this is what he does. He's
- 10:12Speaker 3: a builder. He's very proud of it. Hey, you know
- 10:13Speaker 3: when you go to anybody's house, especially they got a
- 10:16Speaker 3: new house or they're living in an incredible house. You
- 10:19Speaker 3: go to their house. What's the first thing they do?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Come on, I'll give you a tour of the house.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Then they lead you around from room to room and
- 10:26Speaker 3: you have to pretend you're interested in this. And this
- 10:28Speaker 3: is the living room. And then here's the wine. So
- 10:31Speaker 3: they show you all this stuff and you got to
- 10:33Speaker 3: pretend you like this. You have to ooh and ah.
- 10:35Speaker 6: Ooh, oh, ooh.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Then they tell you where this chair is from, where
- 10:39Speaker 3: they got this couch from, how they look at the
- 10:43Speaker 3: molding here. They show you all this crap and you
- 10:44Speaker 3: got to pretend you're interested. So even presidents do that.
- 10:48Speaker 3: He even showed him the helipad. And then he got
- 10:54Speaker 3: a lot of flack for that. And it is probably
- 10:57Speaker 3: the nicest helipad ever built. It's a very special granite.
- 11:00Speaker 3: And he said, Xi Jinping loves granite. That's why he
- 11:04Speaker 3: showed it to me. He loves granite. I don't know
- 11:09Speaker 3: about that. Do we believe that? Are we buying that?
- 11:12Speaker 3: I never met anybody that said, I love granite. You know,
- 11:18Speaker 3: when people talk about, oh, I love pickleball. I'm a
- 11:20Speaker 3: big football. I love golf. I've never heard me say,
- 11:22Speaker 3: you know what I love? I love granite. I don't
- 11:24Speaker 3: know anybody that would ever say that. So, oh, the
- 11:27Speaker 3: one thing that got a lot of flack, you know,
- 11:30Speaker 3: when you come down that promenade, that walkway, the president
- 11:35Speaker 3: has portraits in gold frames of every president. So he's
- 11:40Speaker 3: leading Xi along, showing him every portrait. And then when
- 11:43Speaker 3: they get to the Biden one, Xi looks confused. It
- 11:46Speaker 3: It's not Biden. It's some mechanical. And Trump goes, this
- 11:49Speaker 3: is the auto pen. Remember him with the auto pen? Well,
- 11:55Speaker 3: every left-wing kook site went absolutely nuts. Mediaite, real left-wing site,
- 12:02Speaker 3: big headline, utterly disgusting. Trump mocks Biden in front of
- 12:07Speaker 3: China's Xi, sparking furious online backlash. Well, if you go online,
- 12:13Speaker 3: you can see video of this moment. Go watch the video.
- 12:17Speaker 3: I've watched it. I've slowed it down. I've watched it
- 12:19Speaker 3: carefully 20 times. When he shows it to she and
- 12:24Speaker 3: tells him what it is, you can see she burst
- 12:28Speaker 3: out laughing. Not only can you see him laughing, but
- 12:31Speaker 3: his head snaps back. He throws his head back with laughter.
- 12:34Speaker 3: He really got a kick out of it. So you
- 12:37Speaker 3: can't say it's disgusting if it got that big a
- 12:40Speaker 3: laugh out of she. You know, sometimes you're up there telling...
- 12:45Speaker 3: doing your little jokes. It happens to me all the time.
- 12:49Speaker 3: In front of a big audience in the big ballroom
- 12:51Speaker 3: and you make a few jokes in one of them,
- 12:53Speaker 3: somebody could say, oh, you went a little too far.
- 12:57Speaker 3: The audience is the judge. If the audience all roared
- 13:00Speaker 3: with laughter, if the joke landed well, the audience loved it,
- 13:03Speaker 3: that's all that matters. So you can try to pick
- 13:06Speaker 3: on Trump for this, but watch the video. She laughed
- 13:09Speaker 3: so hard his head goes back. He loved the joke.
- 13:12Speaker 3: So it landed. She loved it. You can't say it
- 13:16Speaker 3: wasn't right. Now, here's the problem. President Trump, that's yesterday,
- 13:21Speaker 3: all day, big state dinner. Today, I'm looking at the schedule.
- 13:26Speaker 3: It's Xi again, President Xi all day. First, they have
- 13:29Speaker 3: a morning tea at 10 o'clock. Then they visit the
- 13:33Speaker 3: National Archives. Then they have another meeting. Who the hell
- 13:36Speaker 3: wants to spend two days with this guy? You've seen
- 13:39Speaker 3: this President Xi. What would you talk to? You sit
- 13:43Speaker 3: in a room with him. You have to have tea
- 13:44Speaker 3: with the guy for an hour. What do you say
- 13:46Speaker 3: to the guy? Hey, how about those Yankees? Terrible about
- 13:49Speaker 3: that Aaron Judge. What do you talk to this guy about?
- 13:52Speaker 3: Melania looked beautiful. She's spending time with Mrs. Xi, Madam Ping.
- 13:59Speaker 3: And then they leave later today. Looks like I'm looking
- 14:03Speaker 3: at the schedule. Looks like the president does not leave Washington.
- 14:06Speaker 3: He's going to go to Kentucky or Tennessee. on Saturday,
- 14:10Speaker 3: but he's not coming to Bedminster. Mar-a-Lago is closed until
- 14:14Speaker 3: usually about Halloween. So he'll be in Washington and probably
- 14:18Speaker 3: go to his, he has a Trump golf course just
- 14:21Speaker 3: outside of DC in the suburbs. So when he stays,
- 14:24Speaker 3: he goes there and plays golf. So this UN week
- 14:29Speaker 3: stuff has been a disaster. I don't know what the
- 14:31Speaker 3: hell was going on last night. You could hear sirens everywhere.
- 14:35Speaker 3: It depends. Your motorcade size depends on how big a
- 14:38Speaker 3: world leader you are. If you're the president of some
- 14:42Speaker 3: dinky country, your motorcade is your SUV. And maybe you
- 14:46Speaker 3: got a car in front of you and behind you.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It's a three-car motorcade. If you're Macron of France, you're
- 14:52Speaker 3: going to get like eight cars. If you're a high-risk
- 14:56Speaker 3: security like Netanyahu, that was a lot of cars. It
- 14:58Speaker 3: was cars and ambulance. One of those cars with the
- 15:01Speaker 3: guys fully armed with the Uzis and the the big
- 15:05Speaker 3: guns and the stinger missile on the roof kind of thing.
- 15:07Speaker 3: And if you're the president, it's an unbelievable motorcade. It's
- 15:12Speaker 3: like 50, literally 50 motorcycles first.
- 15:17Speaker 7: And then.
- 15:19Speaker 3: The cars, it's like literally 20, 30 cars, SUVs, those
- 15:24Speaker 3: presidential limousines, three of them, ambulances, everything, you know, military
- 15:30Speaker 3: type vehicles. And then last night, and some of them,
- 15:33Speaker 3: have police escorts with the sirens going just to get
- 15:35Speaker 3: them through. I don't know what was going on last night,
- 15:38Speaker 3: but 10, you could hear the sirens all over Midtown.
- 15:42Speaker 3: They start leaving these world leaders today. Some of them
- 15:45Speaker 3: stay for a day or two through the weekend because
- 15:48Speaker 3: they like to go shopping. They like to go to
- 15:49Speaker 3: all the top restaurants and go to Broadway shows and
- 15:52Speaker 3: all that. Although I talked to some of the owners
- 15:55Speaker 3: of some of our most famous top crowded, hard to
- 15:58Speaker 3: get reservation restaurants. And they said, They can't stand this U.N.
- 16:03Speaker 3: week because it scares away all the regular customers. They
- 16:07Speaker 3: cancel reservations because they don't want to fight this gridlock
- 16:10Speaker 3: and street closures. And they don't care about these U.N. delegates.
- 16:14Speaker 3: They don't need them. And first of all, they're never
- 16:16Speaker 3: coming back. And so by Monday, we should be pretty
- 16:19Speaker 3: much back to normal traffic wise. So we've got a
- 16:22Speaker 3: lot to get to today. Hey, we'll get to the
- 16:24Speaker 3: polls when they keep telling you, look how low President Trump,
- 16:28Speaker 3: look how low his approval rating is. They're misleading you,
- 16:32Speaker 3: as they always do, by leaving out stuff. We'll get
- 16:34Speaker 3: to that coming up. It's Mark Simone. Three hours every day.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Three hours now. Nine to noon here on 710WOR.
- 16:43Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 16:46Speaker 9: Three.
- 16:47Speaker 10: The Mark Simone Show.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 16:51Speaker 6: 710WOR.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Hey, the rain should begin late tonight and then tomorrow, Saturday,
- 17:01Speaker 3: a lot of rain throughout the day. It'll continue into Sunday.
- 17:04Speaker 3: It looks like it's just rain. It won't be that
- 17:07Speaker 3: bad in the city. It's east of the city. The
- 17:10Speaker 3: further east you go and south, the worse it'll get. Connecticut,
- 17:16Speaker 3: you're going to get a lot of rain. It shouldn't
- 17:17Speaker 3: be that bad, though. But it's eastern Long Island where
- 17:21Speaker 3: you're going to get hit very hard. Very, very, very hard.
- 17:24Speaker 3: A lot of rain. the worst of the wind, but
- 17:28Speaker 3: shouldn't be that bad in the city. And if you're
- 17:31Speaker 3: in Fairfield County, Westchester, it shouldn't be that bad. And
- 17:33Speaker 3: if you're west of the city, New Jersey, it shouldn't
- 17:36Speaker 3: be that bad. Now, this CNN pollster, I don't know
- 17:41Speaker 3: what the hell's going on with this. CNN, fake news,
- 17:45Speaker 3: left wing, very biased. But the pollster there, Harry Enten,
- 17:52Speaker 3: he's very honest all the time. I don't know how
- 17:56Speaker 3: this happened. I don't know what that's all about. Hey,
- 17:58Speaker 3: by the way, the chairman of Paramount, David Ellison, he's
- 18:02Speaker 3: the guy that just bought Warner Discovery and CNN and
- 18:06Speaker 3: all that. He was invited to the state dinner last night. Interesting.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I think really the only network head I saw on
- 18:14Speaker 3: the guest list there. But here's the CNN poster. Now,
- 18:17Speaker 3: here's what they do in fake news, whether it's MSNOW
- 18:21Speaker 3: or CNN. CNN or those kind of places. What they do,
- 18:25Speaker 3: sometimes they just lie and give you fake news. Kids
- 18:28Speaker 3: in cages, you know, that never happened under Trump. The
- 18:31Speaker 3: pictures were all from the Biden-Obama era. Sometimes they doctor
- 18:35Speaker 3: up the audio or the video so it says something
- 18:40Speaker 3: totally different, like Charlottesville. But then other times they just
- 18:43Speaker 3: leave out half the story. They just give you a
- 18:47Speaker 3: little piece of the story that will totally mislead you. So,
- 18:51Speaker 3: We've seen everybody do that over the last couple of weeks.
- 18:54Speaker 3: You keep seeing the story. President's approval ratings have never
- 18:57Speaker 3: been lower. The president is so far down in the polls.
- 19:01Speaker 3: The president's approval ratings are all time low. He's dropping.
- 19:05Speaker 3: He's so low. So you come away thinking he's going
- 19:09Speaker 3: to get wiped out. But the part they left out
- 19:13Speaker 3: is the Democrats are much lower than he is. Way
- 19:18Speaker 3: below him. The Democrats' approval ratings is half of what
- 19:21Speaker 3: Trump's is. So as bad as he's doing, the Democrats
- 19:24Speaker 3: are doing much worse. But I don't know what it is.
- 19:27Speaker 3: The CNN pollster always is honest and they keep cutting him.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I don't know why they didn't fire him because he's honest.
- 19:33Speaker 3: He's totally honest. Harry Enten, listen to him.
- 19:35Speaker 11: Democrats on their own leaders. They don't like their own leaders.
- 19:39Speaker 11: I dare say they despise their own leaders. And this
- 19:41Speaker 11: is the big difference from what we saw back in 2018,
- 19:44Speaker 11: just before Democrats were trying to take back the U.S.
- 19:46Speaker 3: House of Representatives that fall. Take a look here.
- 19:49Speaker 10: Net approval of Congress.
- 19:50Speaker 11: Dem leaders among Democrats back in 2018.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Look at this. Their net approval rating was.
- 19:54Speaker 11: Plus 19 points.
- 19:55Speaker 9: Hey, that's pretty good.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Two thumbs up. Cisco and Ebert.
- 19:58Speaker 9: Now we're talking about.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Two thumbs down. Look at this. Minus 12 points.
- 20:03Speaker 11: What a different world that we are in right now.
- 20:06Speaker 11: Democrats do not like, they despise.
- 20:09Speaker 9: Their own leadership.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so not only are Democrats doing just as badly
- 20:14Speaker 3: as they can in the polls, among Democrats they're hated.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I don't know what they think they're going to accomplish.
- 20:21Speaker 3: You know, you see all these crazy left-wing, crazy Democratic socialists,
- 20:25Speaker 3: anti-Semites getting all the attention. But when you get into
- 20:27Speaker 3: the real numbers, real polls, They're not popular even with Democrats.
- 20:32Speaker 3: So there's going to be a problem. People keep trying
- 20:35Speaker 3: to tell you what's going to happen in the midterms.
- 20:37Speaker 3: You really can't predict it right now. Hey, speaking of leaders,
- 20:43Speaker 3: the Democrats hate Schumer. Hate him. Hate him. He has
- 20:49Speaker 3: no chance at reelection. He now knows this. He will
- 20:53Speaker 3: not seek reelection. So That seat, the big Senate seat,
- 20:57Speaker 3: is up for grabs. AOC is always talked about as
- 21:01Speaker 3: the one who will take it. Or maybe she'll run
- 21:03Speaker 3: for president. Well, it's always been talked about, thought about.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Looks like she's really, really about to try to do it.
- 21:12Speaker 3: She's been on the campaign trail. Now, she's a Congresswoman.
- 21:17Speaker 3: And when you're in Congress, you just represent a local district,
- 21:20Speaker 3: her district in Queens. That's where you campaign. If you're
- 21:23Speaker 3: a senator, it's statewide. Well, she's now begun a statewide campaign.
- 21:29Speaker 3: So this is either for Schumer's seat in the Senate
- 21:32Speaker 3: or 2028. AOC now touring upstate, campaigning upstate. She went
- 21:40Speaker 3: to Buffalo to do a rally with potential supporters. Buffalo.
- 21:46Speaker 3: She joined Kathy Hochul for another rally. Her team is also...
- 21:51Speaker 3: setting up in Syracuse, Ithaca. That's the home to Cornell University,
- 21:55Speaker 3: a terrible anti-Semitic university. Members of the Democratic Socialists of
- 22:01Speaker 3: America are all over that place. They're even on the
- 22:04Speaker 3: city council up there. It's just horrible up there. But
- 22:07Speaker 3: AOC now campaigning statewide. That means she's really, really serious
- 22:13Speaker 3: about all of this. So they had this press ban. yesterday,
- 22:19Speaker 3: the president, first half of the day, looked like they
- 22:21Speaker 3: defied the court order and kept banning CNN and MSNBC now.
- 22:26Speaker 3: And if you watch CNN, they're basically covering themselves all
- 22:30Speaker 3: day about how they were banned and MSNBC, about how
- 22:34Speaker 3: they were banned. But, and other networks joined in to not,
- 22:40Speaker 3: to ban themselves in solidarity with CNN and MSNBC. Other networks,
- 22:46Speaker 3: even Fox agreed to not participate in the pool coverage,
- 22:50Speaker 3: just solidarity among... Remember when Obama tried to ban Fox?
- 22:56Speaker 3: I don't think the other networks joined in in solidarity.
- 23:00Speaker 3: But it's interesting, without the pool, without these reporters all
- 23:04Speaker 3: over everything, including the Xi visit to the White House,
- 23:09Speaker 3: it's supposed to make Trump suffer that he's not getting
- 23:12Speaker 3: the coverage. Actually, I've never seen him look happier. It's
- 23:15Speaker 3: made for... the White House better for him. You don't
- 23:18Speaker 3: have Caitlin Collins sneering at him. You don't have these
- 23:21Speaker 3: nasty reporters screaming horrible questions at him when he talks
- 23:25Speaker 3: to Xi. And I'm watching, here's Joe Scarborough saying it's
- 23:30Speaker 3: humiliated Trump. He's not getting the coverage. He's getting plenty
- 23:34Speaker 3: of coverage, plenty of coverage. I saw every moment of
- 23:38Speaker 3: the Xi visit. You see it online. You see it
- 23:41Speaker 3: on Instagram. You see it on Twitter. You see it
- 23:43Speaker 3: on Just because you're not seeing it on MS Now
- 23:46Speaker 3: with their 600,000 viewers, it doesn't really mean that much.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Or CNN with their 300,000 viewers. That's really not where
- 23:53Speaker 3: people see things. It's online nowadays, and there's plenty of coverage. Hey,
- 23:58Speaker 3: we got a lot to get to. We'll take some calls, too.
- 23:59Speaker 3: 800-321-0710 is the number. It's Mark Simone here. Three hours
- 24:06Speaker 3: every day. It's 9 a.m. to noon. 9 a.m. to
- 24:09Speaker 3: noon every day.
- 24:10Speaker 10: The Mark Simone Show.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 24:16Speaker 12: 710WOR.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Well, big speech yesterday. Netanyahu at the UN. Phenomenal speech.
- 24:21Speaker 3: We'll play you parts of it a little later. Hey,
- 24:23Speaker 3: and good news. The IDF, the Israeli Defense Force, killed
- 24:28Speaker 3: a major Hamas commander yesterday. A guy who had held
- 24:32Speaker 3: seven Israeli hostages in the A tunnel in Gaza. The
- 24:37Speaker 3: Israeli Defense Forces said on Thursday they had eliminated, killed,
- 24:42Speaker 3: Mahmoud Abdel Fattah Awad, a Hamas commander. This is the
- 24:47Speaker 3: guy that held seven hostages in a Gaza tunnel during
- 24:50Speaker 3: the war. Killed in an airstrike in Gaza City. Well,
- 24:54Speaker 3: good for the IDF. Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710
- 24:56Speaker 3: is the number.
- 24:56Speaker 5: 800-321-0710.
- 25:05Speaker 3: You remember Butler, Pennsylvania, the assassination attempt. Donald Trump hit
- 25:10Speaker 3: in the ear. And you remember the crazed shooter, Thomas
- 25:15Speaker 3: Matthew Crooks, fired a bunch of shots. Luckily, Trump turned
- 25:19Speaker 3: his head. They missed him. One hit his ear, but
- 25:21Speaker 3: the others missed him. But one hit a guy behind
- 25:24Speaker 3: him and killed him. And another guy was hit with
- 25:28Speaker 3: a bullet. It was taken to the hospital. He was
- 25:31Speaker 3: just wounded. Only wounded in that failed assassination attempt, but
- 25:37Speaker 3: he died yesterday. He passed away. He was apparently wounded
- 25:41Speaker 3: badly enough that it took a long time, but he
- 25:44Speaker 3: died yesterday. He's in his mid-70s. His name was James
- 25:48Speaker 3: Copenhaver of Coropolis, Pennsylvania. Wounded in the assassination attempt and
- 25:57Speaker 3: died yesterday. Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to
- 26:00Speaker 3: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 26:03Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Yes, Mike.
- 26:07Speaker 8: I love these actresses, you know, Susan Sarandon and the
- 26:10Speaker 8: rest of them, going out there, you know, once they
- 26:14Speaker 8: become completely irrelevant and they try to look smart by
- 26:18Speaker 8: thinking that by protesting the most liberal state in the world, perhaps, Israel,
- 26:23Speaker 8: that they're going to somehow make an impact. You know,
- 26:27Speaker 8: talk about artificial intelligence. These actresses are the exemplars of it. But,
- 26:33Speaker 8: you know, it's ironic because Israel literally is one of
- 26:36Speaker 8: the most liberal states. I mean, they treat women, nobody
- 26:38Speaker 8: treats women better than they do in Israel. And these
- 26:40Speaker 8: are all feminists, as they proclaim. I mean, let Susan
- 26:44Speaker 8: Sarandon go to Gaza, you know, see how she gets
- 26:46Speaker 8: treated there. Maybe her career will get a rebound.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Yeah, very good point. Nobody worse to women than people
- 26:53Speaker 3: in Gaza. Nobody better to women than Israel. And they
- 26:57Speaker 3: hate it because it's a democracy. It's a real democracy.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 27:01Speaker 8: It's a real open. I mean, they employ more, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 8: they employ Gazans in Israel. I mean, up until a
- 27:08Speaker 8: certain point, maybe not anymore. You know, I mean, and
- 27:12Speaker 8: also there's 19 other Arab states and none of them
- 27:14Speaker 8: support Gaza.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Which is interesting.
- 27:16Speaker 8: I mean, nobody ever asked that question.
- 27:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 3: No, listen, anti-Semitism is always based on absolute stupidity, anger, rage, hatred.
- 27:24Speaker 3: It's not based on anything logical of any kind, but
- 27:28Speaker 3: good call, Mike. Thanks for calling. Let's go to, uh,
- 27:30Speaker 3: Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy, how you doing?
- 27:35Speaker 13: Good morning. I want everybody to notice that you're true
- 27:37Speaker 13: to your word that you were going to, uh, be
- 27:40Speaker 13: here on Fridays in the fall. Appreciate that very much.
- 27:44Speaker 3: All I did in the summer, mostly August, is take
- 27:48Speaker 3: Fridays off. You know, I got all these weeks of vacation.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I don't like to take a whole week at a time.
- 27:53Speaker 3: So instead of taking a week, I.
- 27:55Speaker 5: Take every Friday.
- 27:56Speaker 13: But people, for some reason, people are panicking. But I love,
- 28:02Speaker 13: you know, I want to tell you, I love Jimmy
- 28:03Speaker 13: Fallon so much. So much. And I just want to say, Mark,
- 28:07Speaker 13: that you had the perfect Jimmy Fallon moment.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Jimmy Fallon. Fallon.
- 28:12Speaker 7: Fallon.
- 28:13Speaker 13: Yes, I know. You said, I fell over laughing like
- 28:18Speaker 13: I do when I'm listening to him. He needs to
- 28:20Speaker 13: steal this line. You said that the guy was so far,
- 28:24Speaker 13: as far left as your salad fork.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Well, Jimmy Fallon, one of the funniest comedians.
- 28:32Speaker 3: He's on here every night, nine to midnight. You ever
- 28:35Speaker 3: watch his Saturday night show, Fox News Channel, 10 o'clock?
- 28:38Speaker 12: I do.
- 28:39Speaker 7: I do.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Best monologue in television. He's brilliant.
- 28:43Speaker 13: His jackets kill me.
- 28:46Speaker 3: All right. I wouldn't steal his wardrobe, but it's perfect
- 28:50Speaker 3: for him.
- 28:50Speaker 13: But you stole that line. That was a great one.
- 28:53Speaker 13: You need to take credit for that one. I know
- 28:55Speaker 13: I didn't deliver it as well as you did, but
- 28:58Speaker 13: it was hysterical. I've never heard that line before.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yeah. What do you do down there in North Carolina?
- 29:04Speaker 13: And by the way, it's very impressive that you know
- 29:07Speaker 13: where the salad fork is. That was the whole point.
- 29:09Speaker 7: Oh, okay.
- 29:10Speaker 3: You know what? People aren't sure which fork to use.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Grab whatever fork you want. Who the hell cares? Take
- 29:17Speaker 3: any fork you want.
- 29:18Speaker 13: No, but the salad fork is the farthest on the left.
- 29:21Speaker 13: You're correct. And I try to always tell people that
- 29:24Speaker 13: all the time.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I know. But what the hell is it? Take any
- 29:26Speaker 3: fork you want. What happens if you don't use the
- 29:30Speaker 3: smallest fork for the salad? Oh, you used a bigger fork.
- 29:32Speaker 14: That's.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Take whatever fork. Bring your own fork. Don't even touch
- 29:36Speaker 3: their stuff.
- 29:36Speaker 13: But I also, if we have a minute, I want to...
- 29:40Speaker 13: implore you again that somehow I would love to read
- 29:43Speaker 13: your Instagram feed, but somehow I got blocked and it
- 29:47Speaker 13: could not have been but by mistake.
- 29:49Speaker 12: Because.
- 29:51Speaker 13: because I never did anything, and I miss.
- 29:53Speaker 5: Seeing you on Instagram.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Yeah, people always say that. The only way you get
- 29:55Speaker 3: blocked is if you put up an inappropriate comment.
- 29:57Speaker 13: That's not true, Mark. I know every comment I ever made.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Well, one of them was either not relevant to whatever
- 30:03Speaker 3: the post was, or it was attacking somebody. No political anything.
- 30:10Speaker 13: No, it definitely wasn't. We have common friends. We've worked
- 30:13Speaker 13: at the same stations together separately, of course.
- 30:16Speaker 3: We did? What station did we work at together?
- 30:20Speaker 13: Pro, but not together.
- 30:21Speaker 3: W-P-R-O, Providence. Oh, okay.
- 30:25Speaker 13: I do not remember my gangster story about Pro-FM when
- 30:28Speaker 13: I first worked there.
- 30:30Speaker 3: There was a gangster? P-R-O-F-M is the big, like the
- 30:32Speaker 3: Z-100 of Rhode Island.
- 30:33Speaker 7: Yes.
- 30:34Speaker 3: And what happened?
- 30:35Speaker 13: So I worked on the FM side, and there was
- 30:38Speaker 13: a man there when I first started who escorted me in,
- 30:42Speaker 13: and he looked, he was huge, and I thought, oh,
- 30:43Speaker 13: this is so nice, he's escorting me. And it turns
- 30:46Speaker 13: out he was the bodyguard for the mayor.
- 30:48Speaker 7: Oh.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Buddy Cianci, he did a radio show there on
- 30:53Speaker 3: the weekends.
- 30:55Speaker 13: Yes, and it was terrifying. The guy was like, I
- 30:58Speaker 13: couldn't believe it. Every time I got there, there was
- 31:00Speaker 13: like armed guards. And when I figured out it was
- 31:03Speaker 13: a mafia connection, it just completely freaked me out. It
- 31:05Speaker 13: took me a minute to figure it out.
- 31:07Speaker 3: You know, when I worked there on the AM, which
- 31:10Speaker 3: was the big station in New England, there was a
- 31:13Speaker 3: gangster working there. He was a weekend host.
- 31:17Speaker 7: Oh, I'm sure.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't want to mention his name. I think
- 31:19Speaker 3: he's dead. I'm sure he's dead. But he was a
- 31:22Speaker 3: gangster during the week and a DJ on the weekend.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And everybody was very cautious around him.
- 31:28Speaker 13: Oh, I thought you were talking about the mayor.
- 31:30Speaker 3: No, no, no. This was an actual Providence gangster who
- 31:34Speaker 3: worked there. And there were all kinds of jokes about
- 31:36Speaker 3: he's not only playing the hits, he's doing the hits
- 31:38Speaker 3: or something like that.
- 31:40Speaker 13: Anyway, I'm sure you have some minions there like Chris
- 31:42Speaker 13: or somebody who's fabulous that could help me figure out why...
- 31:46Speaker 13: I can't get you on Instagram.
- 31:50Speaker 3: You got blocked because you put up a comment.
- 31:52Speaker 13: No, I didn't.
- 31:52Speaker 3: That's the only way you could get blocked. Anyway, send
- 31:56Speaker 3: me an email. Go to my website, MarkSimone.com. Hit the
- 32:00Speaker 3: email button. I'll get to it, and we'll look in
- 32:02Speaker 3: to see why you got blocked. Okay. Nope, she went away.
- 32:07Speaker 3: What happened? All right. Thanks. One more call? Yeah, let's
- 32:11Speaker 3: go to Carl in Middletown, New Jersey.
- 32:15Speaker 15: Carl?
- 32:16Speaker 7: Hey, Mark, how you doing?
- 32:19Speaker 3: Hey, next time you call, could you try to have
- 32:20Speaker 3: more noise? You don't have enough noise behind you.
- 32:22Speaker 9: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 32:25Speaker 3: For everybody listening, when you call, make sure there's a
- 32:27Speaker 3: lot of noise behind you and be 50 feet away
- 32:29Speaker 3: from the phone. That's what we like.
- 32:32Speaker 8: I'm on Bluetooth.
- 32:33Speaker 12: I'm sorry. What would CNN say if we turned.
- 32:38Speaker 7: Up all the TVs in the airport?
- 32:40Speaker 3: I can't understand one word you're saying. What is it
- 32:42Speaker 3: with the Bluetooth? You know, there's like 4 million people listening.
- 32:44Speaker 3: That's not enough to get you to pick up the
- 32:46Speaker 3: phone and actually talk into it. How many do we
- 32:48Speaker 3: have to have listening before you'll actually hold the phone?
- 32:51Speaker 12: Is that better?
- 32:52Speaker 3: Much better. Now we can hear you.
- 32:55Speaker 8: I apologize to everyone listening. What would CNN's ratings be
- 32:59Speaker 8: if we turned off all the TVs in the airports?
- 33:02Speaker 3: Well, it doesn't really affect their ratings. You know, that's
- 33:05Speaker 3: a good point you brought up. A lot of people say,
- 33:06Speaker 3: how come every airport, oh, they only show, why do
- 33:08Speaker 3: they only show CNN in the airport? They pay for that.
- 33:12Speaker 3: There's a company that runs all the airport TVs in
- 33:15Speaker 3: America and you pay them to put your channel on.
- 33:18Speaker 3: And that's why CNN does that. Now you say, well,
- 33:20Speaker 3: why didn't Fox pay them? Fox doesn't need to. Fox
- 33:23Speaker 3: has huge ratings. CNN pays for that. It's a form
- 33:26Speaker 3: of advertising. So that's actually paid for. It's not the
- 33:29Speaker 3: airport's decision. Hey, we've got a lot to get to.
- 33:32Speaker 3: I'm here now three hours every day, nine to noon
- 33:34Speaker 3: every day. Then, of course, at noon, Buck Saxton and
- 33:37Speaker 3: Clay Travis. And we've got to talk about that show.
- 33:42Speaker 3: We'll do it in a little while. Coming up on 710WOR.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Well, hey, it's just about 10 o'clock. This is when
- 33:53Speaker 3: I used to get here. Now we start early. The
- 33:57Speaker 3: show's now nine to noon, three hours every day. Back
- 34:00Speaker 3: right after the news with a big hour coming up
- 34:02Speaker 3: on 710WOR.
- 34:05Speaker 10: The Mark Simone Show.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Nine till noon weekdays. More Mark.
- 34:12Speaker 16: 710WOR.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Well, hey, welcome to the second hour. That's right. If
- 34:16Speaker 3: you just joined us, we start at nine o'clock now.
- 34:19Speaker 3: You missed the first hour. Nine to noon every day
- 34:22Speaker 3: here on 710WOR. It's Friday. That's the good news. Later tonight,
- 34:28Speaker 3: it's going to start raining again. It's going to rain
- 34:30Speaker 3: all day tomorrow. That will continue into Sunday. That's the
- 34:33Speaker 3: bad news. If you're east of the city, it might
- 34:36Speaker 3: be really ugly, what they call a nor'easter. If you're
- 34:40Speaker 3: right in the city, it shouldn't be that bad, just
- 34:42Speaker 3: a lot of rain. The wind won't be as bad.
- 34:44Speaker 3: If you're in Westchester, Fairfield County, it's not going to
- 34:49Speaker 3: be horrific. But if you're in eastern Long Island, it
- 34:52Speaker 3: could get pretty ugly out there over the weekend with
- 34:55Speaker 3: 60-mile-an-hour winds, that sort of thing. If you're... West of
- 34:59Speaker 3: the city, north of the city, you're probably okay. It's
- 35:01Speaker 3: south and east of the city that's going to get
- 35:04Speaker 3: the worst of it. So the good news also is
- 35:08Speaker 3: the last big day of UN week, Netanyahu was probably
- 35:13Speaker 3: the busiest day. Then today, they start going away, these
- 35:18Speaker 3: world leaders. Tonight, they start leaving. Some of them stay Saturday,
- 35:22Speaker 3: Sunday to run around New York and do stuff. But
- 35:24Speaker 3: then by Monday... Even though the UN General Assembly continues,
- 35:29Speaker 3: most of the world leaders will be gone, and the gridlock,
- 35:32Speaker 3: the street closures, all of that, that should be all
- 35:34Speaker 3: gone by Monday. This is the most useless event in
- 35:39Speaker 3: the world, this United Nations General Assembly this week. Over there,
- 35:43Speaker 3: they call it UNGA, U-N-G-A, UNGA. It is the most
- 35:49Speaker 3: useless thing in the world. It is the worst organization
- 35:52Speaker 3: on earth, the United Nations General They are absolutely horrible.
- 35:56Speaker 3: It's just a big VIP lounge for anti-Semites. It's a
- 36:00Speaker 3: horrible place. They get absolutely nothing done. They're concerned about
- 36:07Speaker 3: nothing important. Their anti-Semitism is very important to them. This
- 36:11Speaker 3: is the same U.N. that totally, totally ignored Islamic terrorism,
- 36:17Speaker 3: totally ignored genocide against Christians in Africa. They never mention it,
- 36:22Speaker 3: never comes up at the U.N. It's just a horrible place.
- 36:26Speaker 3: It's the most disgusting building you've ever seen on the inside. Outside,
- 36:31Speaker 3: it doesn't look bad. When you get in there, it's
- 36:32Speaker 3: a rundown, broken down, crappy mess in there. Their finances
- 36:38Speaker 3: are a total disaster. They're heavily in debt. Their budget
- 36:43Speaker 3: is $ 4 billion a year. They end up spending $ 70
- 36:46Speaker 3: billion a year. They're an absolute, reckless, out-of-control mess. But
- 36:52Speaker 3: for some reason, people still pay attention to them. So
- 36:55Speaker 3: that's why it was important for Netanyahu to come address
- 36:59Speaker 3: the U.N. He knows it's a room full of disgusting anti-Semites.
- 37:05Speaker 3: And sure enough, as Netanyahu gets up, he didn't say
- 37:07Speaker 3: anything yet. He just just the fact that he was
- 37:10Speaker 3: standing there. Half the U.N. walked out. They stood up
- 37:13Speaker 3: and walked out of their seats. And Netanyahu, good for him.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Listen to what he said.
- 37:18Speaker 12: Mr.
- 37:18Speaker 7: President.
- 37:21Speaker 6: Before I begin, just a quick announcement. If there are
- 37:26Speaker 6: any other moral cowards who haven't yet left this hall,
- 37:31Speaker 6: please do so now. Thank you very much.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Yeah, good for him, walking out. This is like one
- 37:39Speaker 3: of the most crucial international situations. Israel, Netanyahu, they all
- 37:45Speaker 3: walk out on him. They walk out. They're not there
- 37:48Speaker 3: for any serious purposes. They're there to waste money. They're
- 37:53Speaker 3: there to celebrate their anti-Semitism. But Netanyahu was a great speech.
- 37:58Speaker 6: To the protesters outside, to the hypocritical delegates who left
- 38:03Speaker 6: us all, I ask, where were you when the Iranian
- 38:09Speaker 6: tyrants butchered and maimed tens of thousands of unarmed Iranian civilians?
- 38:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Iran slaughtering citizens in the streets. The reaction from
- 38:20Speaker 3: the UN? They couldn't have cared less.
- 38:24Speaker 5: Mr.
- 38:24Speaker 6: Mamdani, you try to stop me from coming here. You
- 38:30Speaker 6: try to silence me. Well, you can't silence me. You
- 38:34Speaker 6: can't silence the truth. And here's the simple truth.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, Mamdani is kind of doing like a
- 38:48Speaker 3: Like a Megyn Kelly, like a Tucker Carlson. You know
- 38:51Speaker 3: these two lunatics, Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson? Every time you look, oh,
- 38:56Speaker 3: look what they said. Oh, my God, they said something
- 38:58Speaker 3: so outrageous. That's why Tucker Carlson does that. Megyn Kelly
- 39:03Speaker 3: does that because they'll get, you know, it might be
- 39:05Speaker 3: an attack article, but they'll make headlines in all the
- 39:09Speaker 3: liberal stuff, and then people will click on the link,
- 39:14Speaker 3: and they'll get clicks on their websites and on their whatever.
- 39:18Speaker 3: And then they get credit for that. They call those
- 39:20Speaker 3: click whores. A click whore will say anything to get
- 39:23Speaker 3: clicks on their website. For instance, Tucker Carlson yesterday demanding
- 39:29Speaker 3: that Trump's campaign remove him from office via the 25th Amendment.
- 39:33Speaker 3: He should be bundled up and taken out. This is
- 39:35Speaker 3: a guy whose whole life is devoted to supporting Donald Trump.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Now he's demanding he be removed from office, that they
- 39:41Speaker 3: tie him up and carry him out. So why does
- 39:43Speaker 3: Tucker Carlson do this? Why does Megyn Kelly do this?
- 39:46Speaker 3: Because they got fired. They can't get on the air.
- 39:49Speaker 3: If you're on the big network, you've got millions and
- 39:51Speaker 3: millions of viewers. If you're on iHeart, you've got millions
- 39:54Speaker 3: and millions of listeners. If you're fired from everywhere and
- 39:58Speaker 3: you're doing the show from your home in your pajamas,
- 40:04Speaker 3: you've got to get attention. Nobody would know about it
- 40:07Speaker 3: or listen to it unless you get attention. So you've
- 40:09Speaker 3: got to say crazy, outrageous things. And then everybody covers
- 40:13Speaker 3: you and then you'll get clicks. As they say, they're
- 40:16Speaker 3: click whores. I think Mamdani is a bit of the
- 40:18Speaker 3: same thing. Now, he knows he can't arrest Netanyahu. He
- 40:21Speaker 3: had absolutely no authority to arrest Netanyahu. Actually, nobody can
- 40:25Speaker 3: arrest Netanyahu. He's got diplomatic immunity when he comes to
- 40:28Speaker 3: speak at the UN General Assembly. And he's not guilty
- 40:31Speaker 3: of anything. And you can say, well, the International Criminal Court,
- 40:36Speaker 3: that's not a real court. It's not a real court.
- 40:39Speaker 3: It's not recognized by anybody. It's just a made-up fake court.
- 40:44Speaker 3: You could make up your own court, the Global Citizen
- 40:47Speaker 3: Criminal Court. print up some stationery and there you go.
- 40:51Speaker 3: But it's not a real court. So he knows he
- 40:53Speaker 3: can't do it. So why would he say it? Because
- 40:54Speaker 3: it gets him all over the headlines. He becomes a
- 40:58Speaker 3: subject of a speech in the United Nations General Assembly.
- 41:03Speaker 3: So he's like Tucker Carlson. You just say this crap
- 41:05Speaker 3: and you get a lot of attention and people talk
- 41:08Speaker 3: about you. It makes you seem more important than you are. Hey,
- 41:12Speaker 3: good news. Bruce Blakeman is pretty much caught up to
- 41:14Speaker 3: Kathy Hochul in the polls. It's pretty much tied. Now,
- 41:19Speaker 3: you could tell even without reading the, I'm talking about
- 41:22Speaker 3: the real polls, not the fake public polls, but he's
- 41:25Speaker 3: pretty much tied Kathy Hochul. If you watch a lot
- 41:28Speaker 3: of television, you'll notice you're seeing these attack ads against
- 41:31Speaker 3: Blakeman all over the place. Every time you turn around,
- 41:34Speaker 3: there's an attack ad against Blakeman. This is from Kathy Hochul.
- 41:38Speaker 3: She's spending a fortune right now with these attack ads.
- 41:42Speaker 3: She's running them day and night, a whole series of
- 41:45Speaker 3: vicious attack ads. Why all of a sudden? because she
- 41:48Speaker 3: saw the real polls, the private polls, the internal polls.
- 41:52Speaker 3: She saw them catching up. This is panic on her.
- 41:54Speaker 3: This is fear, panic on her part. That's why they
- 41:58Speaker 3: opened up the checkbook and started spending a fortune real
- 42:01Speaker 3: fast on attack ads, because he caught up. But Blakeman...
- 42:04Speaker 3: doing very well in the campaign.
- 42:06Speaker 4: How can it be possible that in a deep blue state,
- 42:10Speaker 4: a Republican could be neck and neck with a Democrat?
- 42:13Speaker 4: And it's because Kathy Hochul is the worst governor in America.
- 42:17Speaker 4: We have the highest taxes in America. Our utility bills
- 42:21Speaker 4: are 70% higher than the national average. And she is
- 42:23Speaker 4: the most pro-criminal governor in the United States.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Yeah, she's one of those no bail, no jail. Andrew
- 42:30Speaker 3: Cuomo created that no bail, no jail. He's the guy
- 42:32Speaker 3: that pushed it, signed it. And she backs it up.
- 42:35Speaker 3: No bail, no jail. Let the criminals loose. Cuomo started
- 42:39Speaker 3: that thing of close the prisons, let them all out.
- 42:41Speaker 3: That's Kathy Hochul. And she, Cuomo started it with closing
- 42:46Speaker 3: Indian Point. She's continued it. Cuomo and Hochul. Remember your
- 42:52Speaker 3: electric bill was like $ 100. Now it's 400. That's because
- 42:56Speaker 3: of this, because of them, these two. They closed Indian Point.
- 42:59Speaker 3: They banned fracking. So it drove up the... Indian Point
- 43:04Speaker 3: was 25% of our electricity. It drove up the price
- 43:07Speaker 3: of electricity. You know, if you're complaining about the gas prices,
- 43:11Speaker 3: 75 cents of that is a state tax. 75 cents
- 43:15Speaker 3: a gallon is state tax. They could drop that right now. Or,
- 43:19Speaker 3: you know, if the war is raising the price, freeze
- 43:24Speaker 3: that state gas tax. Eliminate it for 30 days or
- 43:27Speaker 3: 60 days. So Hochul... drives your electric bill way up.
- 43:33Speaker 3: And now she's offered, she's now saying she's going to
- 43:35Speaker 3: send everybody a $ 500 credit for electricity. But you've paid
- 43:40Speaker 3: an extra $ 5, 000 thanks to her for electricity, but she'll
- 43:43Speaker 3: send you $ 500 of your own money. But Blakeman talking
- 43:46Speaker 3: about this every year.
- 43:47Speaker 9: It's taxes and utility bills.
- 43:50Speaker 4: We are losing hundreds of thousands of people a year
- 43:53Speaker 4: moving to other places because it's so expensive. Kathy Hochul's
- 43:57Speaker 4: approved $ 48, 000 rate hikes on our utility bills, 21 fare
- 44:02Speaker 4: hikes on our trains, subways, and buses. Basically, people have said,
- 44:08Speaker 4: we don't see economic activity in this state. We're number
- 44:10Speaker 4: 50 in economic outlook.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:12Speaker 3: I mean, it's a mess. It's a mess under Hochul.
- 44:15Speaker 3: People are leaving. Hey, and Blakeman has basically been a
- 44:18Speaker 3: governor for the last five years, six years. That's what
- 44:22Speaker 3: a county executive is, is a governor. Nassau County is
- 44:24Speaker 3: a big place. It's like 4 million people. It's bigger
- 44:28Speaker 3: than half of our states. It's a big place. So
- 44:31Speaker 3: he's been considered the best county executive in America, and
- 44:36Speaker 3: that's being a governor.
- 44:37Speaker 4: You take a look at my record in a county
- 44:39Speaker 4: that's larger than eight states. As chief executive, I cut
- 44:43Speaker 4: a $ 150 million increase of my predecessor.
- 44:45Speaker 9: I haven't raised taxes a penny in five years. And U.S.
- 44:49Speaker 9: News & World Report says I have.
- 44:50Speaker 4: The safest county in America.
- 44:53Speaker 9: People want that kind of leadership. They're fed up with
- 44:55Speaker 9: Kathy Hochul and one-party rule.
- 44:57Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Now, Hochul not only is in panic spending a fortune
- 45:01Speaker 3: all of a sudden on these attack ads against Blakeman.
- 45:04Speaker 3: You know, if you're doing well, you don't have to
- 45:06Speaker 3: waste all that money on attack ads. But she saw
- 45:08Speaker 3: the polls running attack ads all over the place. Now,
- 45:12Speaker 3: she's refusing to debate Blakeman. She's refused to turn down
- 45:18Speaker 3: the Channel 2 debate, the Channel 4 debate, the Channel
- 45:20Speaker 3: 5 debate, the Channel 7 debate. The only one she's
- 45:24Speaker 3: accepted is New York One. Why? It's a little tiny thing,
- 45:29Speaker 3: New York One, very few viewers, and it's very left-wing,
- 45:33Speaker 3: very biased, very slanted left. And the moderator will be
- 45:37Speaker 3: Errol Lewis, nice guy, but the most left-wing slanted guy.
- 45:41Speaker 3: That's the only one she'll agree to. Now, Blakeman's got
- 45:44Speaker 3: to push her. to do a real debate on a
- 45:47Speaker 3: real TV channel.
- 45:48Speaker 4: I'm going to talk about my record and compare it
- 45:50Speaker 4: to hers. My record is one of achievement and hers
- 45:52Speaker 4: is one of failure. So she tries to talk about
- 45:55Speaker 4: everything other than her record. Any commercial you've seen about her,
- 45:59Speaker 4: any social media post, says nothing about her record because
- 46:02Speaker 4: she's got a terrible record.
- 46:04Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Hey, and the greatest compliment to Bruce Blakeman, all these
- 46:08Speaker 3: attack ads, they only attack him on one thing, that
- 46:10Speaker 3: he's friends with Donald Trump. And believe me, they had
- 46:14Speaker 3: a team of opposition research people look at Blakeman for
- 46:20Speaker 3: a billion hours to find something on him. Well, apparently
- 46:24Speaker 3: they couldn't find anything on him because all the attack
- 46:26Speaker 3: ads are, hey, look at him with Donald Trump. He's
- 46:28Speaker 3: friends with Donald Trump. He likes Donald Trump. That's the
- 46:31Speaker 3: only thing they got on him. Quite a compliment to Blakeman. Hey,
- 46:37Speaker 3: Macron of France made this ridiculous speech at the UN
- 46:40Speaker 3: talking about... Free Palestine or something. You always count on
- 46:45Speaker 3: the wormy, weaselly French president to cause some trouble. Hey,
- 46:51Speaker 3: Carney of Canada, the Carney is the Canadian prime minister,
- 46:55Speaker 3: Mark Carney. You know, there was a little battle there
- 46:58Speaker 3: over tariffs. There was a battle over some issues with Canada.
- 47:03Speaker 3: And this crazy Mark Carney, Canadian prime minister, confirms that
- 47:08Speaker 3: he prepped for of the US to invade Canada. He
- 47:16Speaker 3: said it would have been irresponsible not to. As they
- 47:19Speaker 3: got into that tariff battle with Canada, he considered the
- 47:22Speaker 3: possibility of the US launching an invasion of Canada. It
- 47:28Speaker 3: was like a trade war, an economic trade war. He said,
- 47:31Speaker 3: if you have a responsibility, you have to plan and prepare.
- 47:35Speaker 3: So they were preparing for the invasion of Canada by
- 47:38Speaker 3: the United States. What the hell would we invade Canada for?
- 47:43Speaker 3: What on earth would we want in Canada? Absolutely. What
- 47:48Speaker 3: are we going to invade? Windsor, Canada? What are we
- 47:52Speaker 3: going to invade? Quebec? Who the hell cares? And let's
- 47:55Speaker 3: say we did invade. Not that we ever would. Let's
- 47:57Speaker 3: say we were going to invade. What the hell would
- 47:59Speaker 3: they do about it? Were they going to send some Mounties?
- 48:03Speaker 3: Were they going to have Dudley do right in a
- 48:04Speaker 3: couple of Mounties trying to stop us? They invade Canada.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Could you imagine? First of all, a Boy Scout troop
- 48:13Speaker 3: could take over Canada. Anyway, hey, Buck and Clay, you know,
- 48:17Speaker 3: they do a great show, Buck Sexton, Clay Travis. They're
- 48:19Speaker 3: on every day at noon, noon to three. It's a
- 48:21Speaker 3: very big show. It's about 10 million listeners now. They
- 48:25Speaker 3: replaced Rush Limbaugh. You remember when Rush left us? About
- 48:31Speaker 3: 12 guys all of a sudden claimed they were replacing Rush. Yeah.
- 48:37Speaker 3: I don't want to mention any names. You know some
- 48:38Speaker 3: of them. Yes, I'm replacing Rush. I'll be on at noon,
- 48:41Speaker 3: noon to three. I'm replacing Rush. None of them were
- 48:43Speaker 3: replacing Rush. It was Buck and Clay that actually replaced Rush.
- 48:48Speaker 3: They were hired by the company that did the Rush show,
- 48:51Speaker 3: iHeart Premiere. They do the show from Rush Limbaugh's studio.
- 48:56Speaker 3: They sit in Rush Limbaugh's chair. They have Rush Limbaugh's engineer,
- 49:01Speaker 3: Mike Mamone. He's been there for a million years. He
- 49:04Speaker 3: was the guy running the Rush show every day. So
- 49:06Speaker 3: their show is produced by the Rush people, run by
- 49:09Speaker 3: the Rush staff. It's in the Rush studio. They use
- 49:12Speaker 3: Rush's theme song. But the reason I bring this up
- 49:15Speaker 3: is this Mike Mamone, been with us for a million years,
- 49:18Speaker 3: all the way back to the... the beginnings at WABC
- 49:21Speaker 3: years ago he is retiring today's his last day so
- 49:25Speaker 3: you want to listen to Buck and Clay Sean Hannity
- 49:28Speaker 3: had him on yesterday as a guest for a half
- 49:30Speaker 3: hour Mike Mamone the great engineer of Rush Limbaugh he'll
- 49:34Speaker 3: be on with he's on with Buck and Clay but
- 49:37Speaker 3: I'm sure they'll talk to him on the air about
- 49:38Speaker 3: it it's his final day today So we wish him well.
- 49:43Speaker 3: We'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 49:44Speaker 6: 800-321-0710.
- 49:44Speaker 3: And now, Mark Simone on 710WOR. Thank you, Shadow Stevens.
- 49:47Speaker 3: We'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 49:49Speaker 9: 800-321-0710.
- 49:49Speaker 3: 3 2 1 0 7 10. Let's go to Dave
- 50:09Speaker 3: in Chicago. Dave, how you doing?
- 50:12Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark.
- 50:13Speaker 9: I'm doing very well.
- 50:14Speaker 14: Thank you, Mark.
- 50:15Speaker 17: I was highly impressed with Caroline Leavitt on the Sean
- 50:19Speaker 17: Hannity podcast. I mean, she's just incredibly amazing. Some of
- 50:24Speaker 17: her recollections of being in the situation, Rome meetings with
- 50:28Speaker 17: world leaders. Mark, my question is, is it possible that
- 50:32Speaker 17: a little further down the road, as she raises her
- 50:35Speaker 17: two kids, uh, that Fox News would offer her her
- 50:38Speaker 17: own show?
- 50:39Speaker 3: They already have. She has a standing offer. So far
- 50:43Speaker 3: she's said no, she doesn't want to go back to
- 50:45Speaker 3: full-time work, but they've already made the offer. She has
- 50:49Speaker 3: a standing offer to do a show at Fox. A
- 50:51Speaker 3: lot of former White House press secretaries have shows at Fox.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Dana Perino, Kayleigh McEnany. She will be one of them.
- 50:59Speaker 3: But when she's ready, when her kids are a little older.
- 51:03Speaker 3: She will go back to work. Good question, Dave. Let's
- 51:06Speaker 3: go to Kelly in Brooklyn. Kelly, how are you doing?
- 51:10Speaker 5: Good.
- 51:10Speaker 18: How are you, Mark?
- 51:11Speaker 3: Let me check.
- 51:12Speaker 18: I have a comment to make.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Not bad.
- 51:16Speaker 14: Okay.
- 51:17Speaker 18: You've been saying about the kind of like a rebate
- 51:19Speaker 18: check that she's going to send out to Hochul.
- 51:22Speaker 14: Okay.
- 51:23Speaker 18: Everywhere else I heard it was $ 200. I called Hochul's office.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sure they were thrilled.
- 51:30Speaker 18: No, too bad.
- 51:31Speaker 11: So you called up your uncle's office and you said, hello,
- 51:36Speaker 11: and they.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Went, oh, my God.
- 51:37Speaker 18: Not at all. No, I am not from Long Island.
- 51:39Speaker 3: No, I am.
- 51:40Speaker 18: I am from Dyka Heights, Brooklyn. All right.
- 51:44Speaker 12: Okay.
- 51:44Speaker 18: So it's $ 100 if you file your state income tax single.
- 51:49Speaker 15: Okay.
- 51:50Speaker 18: And $ 200 if you file as a married couple. And
- 51:55Speaker 18: then I also asked, I said, oh, is this also taxable?
- 51:58Speaker 3: Well, first of all, tell them you're trans, then.
- 52:00Speaker 8: It's $ 500.
- 52:03Speaker 18: So that's what it is. And you will be federally
- 52:06Speaker 18: taxed on it. So it's a scam. And I also said,
- 52:09Speaker 18: why doesn't she do more debates on 2457? And there
- 52:14Speaker 18: was no answer to that. So I just want you
- 52:16Speaker 18: to know that's all these checks are. And it's our
- 52:19Speaker 18: tax money that we're going to be taxed on again.
- 52:22Speaker 3: You know, I always wonder what makes people call the
- 52:25Speaker 3: senator's office or Kathy Hochul's office. It's like some junior
- 52:28Speaker 3: staff intern you got on the phone. He doesn't have
- 52:30Speaker 3: anything to do with anything. What do you think you'll accomplish.
- 52:32Speaker 14: With that call?
- 52:33Speaker 18: Well, this one was the Albany office.
- 52:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:37Speaker 3: She's not even in the Albany office. She works on
- 52:39Speaker 3: 3rd Avenue. 41st and 3rd is where her real office is.
- 52:43Speaker 18: Okay, so should I be frustrated? I contact all of
- 52:46Speaker 18: my politicians. That's my legal right to do that and
- 52:49Speaker 18: to let them know that.
- 52:50Speaker 12: I want to be frustrated.
- 52:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. I'm just saying, when you call the offices,
- 52:54Speaker 3: what they do, they have a huge staff, and if
- 52:56Speaker 3: you're the lowest on the totem pole, the brand-new junior intern,
- 53:00Speaker 3: that's your job, taking these calls.
- 53:02Speaker 18: Okay.
- 53:03Speaker 3: All you're talking to is them. It never goes anywhere.
- 53:05Speaker 18: But I did get the correct information.
- 53:07Speaker 3: All right. Well, that's good. There you go.
- 53:10Speaker 7: Okay.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Thanks for calling. Yeah, if you call Schumer's office, you're
- 53:13Speaker 3: going to get the most junior staffer, and you're going
- 53:16Speaker 3: to tell him what you think. I'm just telling you,
- 53:20Speaker 3: he doesn't run down the hall to Schumer and go, hey,
- 53:22Speaker 3: I just got a call from a woman in Brooklyn.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Here's what she thinks. It never goes anywhere. Now, if
- 53:27Speaker 3: you were to call Schumer's office or somebody's office and say, Yes,
- 53:33Speaker 3: I'd like to make a large donation. It's a whole
- 53:36Speaker 3: different story. You're going to be a big donor? Hang on,
- 53:38Speaker 3: hang on. He'll actually come on the phone and talk
- 53:42Speaker 3: to you. Let's go to Michael in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Michael,
- 53:46Speaker 3: how are you doing? Michael?
- 53:49Speaker 14: Hi, how are you doing?
- 53:50Speaker 3: Good.
- 53:51Speaker 14: I have a comment, and my comment is this. I
- 53:56Speaker 14: get the New York Post delivered to my house every day.
- 54:00Speaker 3: The physical newspaper?
- 54:01Speaker 14: I'm a delivery person. He delivered the New York Times
- 54:05Speaker 14: to me.
- 54:05Speaker 3: All right, wait a minute. You get the physical newspaper
- 54:08Speaker 3: delivered to you?
- 54:10Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:10Speaker 14: I'm still one of those old guys.
- 54:11Speaker 3: All right, stop that. Stop that. That's news from 36
- 54:14Speaker 3: hours ago. Go to the New York Post website, nypost.com.
- 54:19Speaker 3: You'll get 10 times the news.
- 54:21Speaker 14: I just like reading a physical paper.
- 54:22Speaker 3: I know, but it's old news. The articles are not
- 54:25Speaker 3: as big as they are on the website. The pictures aren't.
- 54:27Speaker 14: Okay, but I got to tell you this, Mark. I
- 54:30Speaker 14: never called you before. I used to listen to you
- 54:32Speaker 14: on the weekends.
- 54:33Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 54:33Speaker 14: When you had that two-hour show on the weekends, I
- 54:36Speaker 14: loved it. You always spoke about all the celebrities, and
- 54:39Speaker 14: you always had interesting stories. But this is the thing
- 54:42Speaker 14: I wanted to talk to you about, the New York Times,
- 54:44Speaker 14: because I haven't read it in years. Like I said,
- 54:47Speaker 14: the delivery guy delivered the wrong paper. I usually get
- 54:50Speaker 14: the New York Post.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Well, this is a fascinating story, but can we get
- 54:52Speaker 3: to the point?
- 54:54Speaker 14: Yeah, okay, this is the point. The first 10 pages
- 54:57Speaker 14: of the New York Times, almost every article had an anti-Trump.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Well, that's the point of the New York Times. It's
- 55:04Speaker 3: an anti-Trump paper. It's not a newspaper anymore. It's just
- 55:08Speaker 3: an anti-Trump thing.
- 55:09Speaker 14: It's absolutely disgusting.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Well, no, that's what their audience wants. It's all Trump haters,
- 55:14Speaker 3: and that's their business model. Hate Trump, and they've got
- 55:17Speaker 3: a whole audience of Trump haters. Don't get the physical
- 55:19Speaker 3: newspaper anymore. Let's take the New York Post. I think
- 55:22Speaker 3: the print circulation is like 75,000. The website subscribers, I think,
- 55:28Speaker 3: is 4 million right now, so. You'll want to go
- 55:30Speaker 3: to the website because the print newspaper, the news is
- 55:33Speaker 3: from yesterday when they printed it. It's like one-fifth of
- 55:39Speaker 3: what's on the website. The stories are shorter. They don't
- 55:41Speaker 3: have as many pictures. It's much better. Just go to
- 55:44Speaker 3: the New York Post website and get a subscription. You'll
- 55:47Speaker 3: love it. Let's go to April in Astoria, Queens. April.
- 55:51Speaker 5: Come on.
- 55:52Speaker 16: Listen.
- 55:53Speaker 12: Yes.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Hi.
- 55:53Speaker 19: Good morning.
- 55:54Speaker 7: Yes.
- 55:55Speaker 13: I want to know, I am really confused when I
- 55:57Speaker 13: hear constantly on the radio, on the news, we will win.
- 56:02Speaker 14: The Republicans will win. If people come out to vote,
- 56:05Speaker 14: we will win.
- 56:06Speaker 13: But I don't understand, why won't people vote?
- 56:09Speaker 3: Well, that's common when it's not a presidential year that
- 56:13Speaker 3: a lot of people don't bother.
- 56:14Speaker 13: There's no But why won't they bother?
- 56:17Speaker 3: Because you've got to go somewhere. You've got to wait
- 56:19Speaker 3: in line. It's a pain in the neck.
- 56:21Speaker 13: Yeah, but how old are Republicans? Are they all 85 years.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Old in wheelchairs?
- 56:26Speaker 14: No, no, no.
- 56:27Speaker 3: What is it? They're all ages. You didn't know that
- 56:29Speaker 3: people don't like to vote? You know, like only 5%
- 56:32Speaker 3: of people vote nowadays. But anyway, April, thanks for calling. Hey,
- 56:35Speaker 3: when we come back, this guy is like a legend
- 56:38Speaker 3: in the broadcasting business, Dan Mason. He ran CBS Radio.
- 56:41Speaker 3: He ran Odyssey. He's the guy that– Imus worked for
- 56:47Speaker 3: him and Howard Stern. He's got a lot of great stories.
- 56:49Speaker 3: He wrote a new book. We'll talk to him next
- 56:51Speaker 3: on 710WOR.
- 56:54Speaker 10: Marks them all.
- 56:55Speaker 6: Mr.
- 56:56Speaker 10: New York.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR.
- 57:03Speaker 3: Well, hey, with us right now, this guy's a legend
- 57:06Speaker 3: in the radio industry. You know, the two big giants
- 57:09Speaker 3: of radio are iHeart. And then it would be CBS
- 57:13Speaker 3: Radio that owns a million stations and the CBS Radio Network.
- 57:16Speaker 3: It's now called Odyssey. But Bob Pittman, of course, the chairman,
- 57:20Speaker 3: CEO of iHeart, but the president and CEO of CBS
- 57:24Speaker 3: Radio for years, Dan Mason. And he just wrote a book.
- 57:28Speaker 3: It's a great book. It's called Fearless, The Life and
- 57:32Speaker 3: Times of a Media Maverick. Dan Mason, Fearless. I want
- 57:35Speaker 3: you to go to Amazon and order it. Just go
- 57:38Speaker 3: to Amazon, type in Dan Mason, Fearless. By the way,
- 57:41Speaker 3: All the proceeds are for charity. They go to the
- 57:44Speaker 3: Broadcasters Foundation of America, which does a lot of great
- 57:48Speaker 3: humanitarian work. Dan Mason, how are you doing?
- 57:51Speaker 15: Mark, it is a pleasure to be here. Thank you
- 57:54Speaker 15: for inviting me.
- 57:55Speaker 3: It's a pleasure to talk to you because you're the
- 57:57Speaker 3: big CEO, the big boss. I don't work for you.
- 58:00Speaker 3: I don't have to worry about getting fired by you.
- 58:04Speaker 15: Well, hopefully people would say fairly nice things, I hope,
- 58:07Speaker 15: about me.
- 58:07Speaker 3: No, they do. So you started... Like a lot of guys,
- 58:12Speaker 3: you wanted to be on the radio, and then you
- 58:14Speaker 3: became the overnight DJ, right? That's where we all start,
- 58:17Speaker 3: doing the overnight show. And how were you as a DJ?
- 58:20Speaker 7: Oh, I was okay.
- 58:22Speaker 15: I was probably a C, but it was pretty obvious
- 58:25Speaker 15: to me that I wasn't going to be someone like you.
- 58:30Speaker 15: And I wanted to get in to be a general manager.
- 58:33Speaker 15: So after I did that, I wanted to be in
- 58:36Speaker 15: charge of the general managers. But it was a long
- 58:39Speaker 15: road from... an overnight dish jockey to the CEO of
- 58:43Speaker 15: CBS Radio. But especially, Mark, because I never sold a
- 58:48Speaker 15: day of my life. I didn't come from sales. I
- 58:50Speaker 15: came from programming. And it's a tougher road for programmers
- 58:54Speaker 15: to become high up in management. But I did it
- 58:58Speaker 15: because I think I had a talent. And before I
- 59:03Speaker 15: tell you what it is, I think all of us,
- 59:05Speaker 15: every one of us on this earth has a couple
- 59:07Speaker 15: of really special talents. I don't think God did. them
- 59:10Speaker 15: out in barrels. I think he gives you a few,
- 59:12Speaker 15: and you've got to make the best of it. But
- 59:16Speaker 15: I think the talent that I had was getting people
- 59:19Speaker 15: to listen to the radio. And companies paid dearly for that.
- 59:24Speaker 15: So I believe that's how I did it.
- 59:26Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Now, you had the biggest people working for you. You
- 59:28Speaker 3: had Imus. You had Howard Stern. You were the guy,
- 59:31Speaker 3: I guess, when Imus got in all that trouble for
- 59:34Speaker 3: some comments, you were the guy that had to decide
- 59:36Speaker 3: what to do about it, right?
- 59:38Speaker 15: Well, actually, in transparency, it was probably the CBS legal
- 59:44Speaker 15: department that probably finally made that final call. But yes,
- 59:49Speaker 15: I was part of it, and it was just very sad.
- 59:52Speaker 15: I mean, I'm so happy that Don resurrected his career
- 59:56Speaker 15: at WABC, but It was a very sad, dark day, Mark.
- 1:00:01Speaker 15: And I'll never forget that. As a matter of fact,
- 1:00:05Speaker 15: that was probably the darkest day I ever had at
- 1:00:07Speaker 15: the company.
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: Really?
- 1:00:08Speaker 15: In all the years.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Now, I know working with Imus, if you just said hello,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: he'd start yelling and screaming and cursing. So what was
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: it like when you had to tell him, we've got
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: to fire you? That must have been.
- 1:00:17Speaker 15: You know, I remember, well, like I say, the legal
- 1:00:21Speaker 15: department was the one that put all that together because
- 1:00:24Speaker 15: they had to deal with Don's agent and a lot
- 1:00:27Speaker 15: of the galleys to it. But They called me and said, listen,
- 1:00:30Speaker 15: we're probably going to make this move on Tuesday or Monday, Tuesday,
- 1:00:33Speaker 15: somewhere like that. But take the weekend and maybe give
- 1:00:36Speaker 15: Don a call and kind of give him kind of
- 1:00:38Speaker 15: a heads up that things aren't going to be good.
- 1:00:41Speaker 15: And I did. And I found a quiet room like
- 1:00:44Speaker 15: a Saturday morning. I called Don and we talked a bit.
- 1:00:47Speaker 15: And he said, is there anything you think you can
- 1:00:50Speaker 15: do for me? And I thought, Don, you know, I
- 1:00:53Speaker 15: wish I could, but I don't see it. I don't
- 1:00:55Speaker 15: see how it could happen. And it was just dead silence, Mark,
- 1:00:59Speaker 15: for like 20 seconds or so. And he said, well, listen,
- 1:01:02Speaker 15: thanks for everything. And I appreciate it. Hung up. And
- 1:01:06Speaker 15: I found the nearest garbage can where I could throw up.
- 1:01:10Speaker 15: I just felt awful. It was a whole awful situation
- 1:01:14Speaker 15: from top to bottom. I mean, you know, but like
- 1:01:17Speaker 15: I say, the good news is at least Don went
- 1:01:19Speaker 15: on to have some good years at WABC.
- 1:01:21Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Hey, that's one thing I did notice about him is
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: for all his yelling and screaming and cursing, in a
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: moment like that, in the most crucial moment. He could
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: be quite the gentleman, quite a business person.
- 1:01:31Speaker 15: Yeah, and you know, he had a ton of remorse
- 1:01:36Speaker 15: for what he said. He knew that he crossed the line.
- 1:01:38Speaker 15: I mean, we all know where that line is, Mark,
- 1:01:41Speaker 15: and you can't cross it. I mean, this is a
- 1:01:43Speaker 15: public airwaves. You can't just say everything that comes to
- 1:01:47Speaker 15: the top of your head. But he made a terrible
- 1:01:49Speaker 15: mistake that I'm sure he wished he could have taken
- 1:01:51Speaker 15: that 10 seconds back. You know, he did a lot
- 1:01:54Speaker 15: of charity work. He did a lot of good things
- 1:01:56Speaker 15: for a lot of people with the Imus Ranch.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: Wow, yeah. Hey, Dan Mason, you also had Howard Stern
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: working for you. That must have been a roller coaster, too.
- 1:02:04Speaker 15: Most of those stories are too dirty to tell on
- 1:02:07Speaker 15: the radio. I'm sorry. You've got to read the book
- 1:02:09Speaker 15: for that, Mark.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Yeah, get the book. We can't say it on the air.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: But I guess Stern left when you were there, right?
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: That's when he went to the satellite?
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: Yeah, I.
- 1:02:20Speaker 15: He had already gone, and then I came back. I
- 1:02:22Speaker 15: did two stints at CBS, and he was at SiriusXM
- 1:02:27Speaker 15: the second time, and that's where my story originates from.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: Well, you've got a lot of stories. Hey, tell us
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: about Taylor Swift, your dealings with Taylor Swift.
- 1:02:37Speaker 15: That was really interesting. I'd just come back to CBS.
- 1:02:41Speaker 15: This was 2007, and a friend of, well, no, CBS
- 1:02:46Speaker 15: corporate wanted me to, attend American Women in Radio and
- 1:02:49Speaker 15: Television Dinner, which I was glad to do. I'd just
- 1:02:52Speaker 15: been back a month. And my communications director said, listen,
- 1:02:57Speaker 15: we're going to set you next to Taylor Swift tonight.
- 1:03:00Speaker 15: And I thought, okay, that's fine. I mean, I didn't
- 1:03:02Speaker 15: really know who Taylor Swift was at 2007. And she's
- 1:03:07Speaker 15: probably like a 17-year-old girl then, and she comes and
- 1:03:10Speaker 15: sits down next to me. And I'm thinking to myself, God,
- 1:03:13Speaker 15: you need to be in high school, Taylor. Would you
- 1:03:15Speaker 15: do your homework or anything? I mean, Why are you here?
- 1:03:18Speaker 15: But she kept her head down most of the night,
- 1:03:21Speaker 15: didn't say a lot, very unassuming, and had her mother
- 1:03:24Speaker 15: next to her. So it was, actually, it was hard
- 1:03:27Speaker 15: to talk to her because I didn't know what to say.
- 1:03:30Speaker 15: So she got up and played a couple of songs
- 1:03:32Speaker 15: and did her thing, did a great job, and that
- 1:03:34Speaker 15: was the end of that. And lo and behold, I mean,
- 1:03:39Speaker 15: I had two or three other experiences with her over
- 1:03:41Speaker 15: the years, and You know, look at her now. But
- 1:03:44Speaker 15: I will say that, you know, of all the artists
- 1:03:46Speaker 15: that I've run into, all of them, there is nobody
- 1:03:49Speaker 15: better and more appreciative of radio people than Taylor Swift.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: So at 17, she gets up and sings. Did you
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: say to yourself, she could be the biggest star in music?
- 1:03:59Speaker 15: No, absolutely not. I mean, she got a nice kind
- 1:04:02Speaker 15: of golf clap from the audience, you know, but no.
- 1:04:07Speaker 15: I mean, she was fine, but absolutely not. I think that.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Hey, so Dan Mason, you're the chairman, the CEO of
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: the biggest radio company for years, and TV viewership is
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: way down, way down. But radio is pretty much holding
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: its own. What do you think is the future of radio?
- 1:04:26Speaker 15: Well, you know, they've been trying to kill off radio
- 1:04:28Speaker 15: since it began in 1920. So, you know, when color
- 1:04:32Speaker 15: TV came out in about 53 or 54 or something
- 1:04:36Speaker 15: like that, finally the naysayers all said, well, radio is
- 1:04:39Speaker 15: dead now. We've got television. And then, you know, you
- 1:04:43Speaker 15: had satellite radio come along, and they said, well, now
- 1:04:45Speaker 15: it's dead for sure. And no, it kept going. And
- 1:04:48Speaker 15: now this Apple CarPlay and Android and everything else in
- 1:04:53Speaker 15: the dash. But you know what? That AM and FM
- 1:04:55Speaker 15: radio is still there.
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: It's still there.
- 1:04:58Speaker 15: And I don't see it going anywhere.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Add podcasting to that, and you've got people spending more
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: time listening to audio than watching TV most of the time.
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: You know, it's interesting.
- 1:05:09Speaker 15: That's a really good comment because radio is not necessarily
- 1:05:12Speaker 15: about a dumb appliance. It's audio. It's companionship. If you
- 1:05:19Speaker 15: look at a radio, it is a pretty dumb appliance
- 1:05:21Speaker 15: sitting there on somebody's desktop. But they don't have a
- 1:05:24Speaker 15: lot of those anymore. I think I'm down to one
- 1:05:26Speaker 15: radio in my whole house. But it's all about audio.
- 1:05:30Speaker 15: And then it's all about... Radio is about making friends.
- 1:05:32Speaker 15: That's what it's about. And that's what you do at WOR.
- 1:05:35Speaker 12: I mean.
- 1:05:36Speaker 15: I've been listening to your show this morning, and these
- 1:05:38Speaker 15: people who are calling in, they consider themselves your friends.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: They are.
- 1:05:44Speaker 15: Part of your family.
- 1:05:45Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Well, it's a great book. We recommend it. Go get it.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: It's on Amazon. It's Dan Mason, longtime president, CEO of
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: one of the biggest radio companies. But the book's called
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Dan Mason. It's Dan Mason. The book's called Fearless, The
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Life and Times of a Media Maverick. And it's all
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: for charity. It goes to a great charity, the Broadcasters
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Foundation of America. Dan Mason, the book is fearless. Go
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: to Amazon and get it. Well, Dan Mason, great to
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: talk to you. Thanks for being with us.
- 1:06:13Speaker 15: Thank you, Mark, for having me.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: All right. Take care. All right. Thanks. Yeah, a lot
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: of great stories in that book. We got a lot
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: coming up in the next hour. Don't forget, it's three
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: hours every day. It's nine to noon every day. Three
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: hours every day. Then at noon, you got Buck Saxton
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: and Clay Travis with a great show. Listen today. It's
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Mike Mamone's last day. Listen, and you'll hear about it.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Coming up at 3, you got the most listened to
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: radio show in America, Sean Hannity. 6 o'clock, you got
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Jesse Kelly. 9 o'clock, you got, this show is so
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: funny and interesting every night, Jimmy Fallon. I've become hooked
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: on it. 9 to midnight every night here on 710WOR.
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: So it's Friday. That's the good news. It's going to
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: rain Saturday, Sunday. That's the bad news. The good news,
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: we've got another hour to go and lots to get to.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Don't forget, I'm here three hours every day, 9 to noon.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: 9 to noon every day. So I'll be back. Right
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: after the news, Mark Simone here on 710WOR. Mr.
- 1:07:21Speaker 10: New York.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Mark Simone on.
- 1:07:27Speaker 14: WOR.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: Oh, I'm on the air. Sorry, out in the hallway.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: We have advertisers, clients, you know, nice. uh, the one
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: I love is PC Richards, my favorite place. So PC Richards,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: people outside, it's great store. Do you know, we were
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: just talking about this. Uh, there is such a thing
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: as a washer dryer.
- 1:07:58Speaker 14: Unit.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I don't mean a dryer on top of the washing machine.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: I mean, it's all one thing. There's one unit that
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: will do the wash and then it'll dry all in
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: the same unit. They're, uh, selling these now. It's a great,
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: great thing. So you throw in the, uh, the laundry,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: you set it to wash and dry. You can go
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: away for two hours. You come back, it washes it.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: And then when it's done washing it, it dries it
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: all in the same unit. PC Richards, perfect place to
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: get it. But this is going to be the future.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: These are going to be all over the place pretty soon. Hey,
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: that crazy Macklemore, you know, Ed Sheeran on tour. Why
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: the hell? Ed Sheeran's the nicest, most neutral, nice guy
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: in the world. What the hell would he have Macklemore on?
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: who's nothing but trouble. If you're looking for trouble, make
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Macklemore your opening act. Uh, so they had to drop
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: him from the tour. All hell broke loose. Everybody's mad
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: at everybody. Certain radio stations banning Ed Sheeran, which is ridiculous.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: But Macklemore has just announced he's going on tour himself.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: He got so much attention for this. You know, he'd
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: been much bigger years ago. Then his career kind of
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: died down. But all this attention could bring him back
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: an audience. But he's now announced his tour.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: It's a free Palestine tour, a free Palestine music tour. Uh,
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: dates have not been set yet. Uh, and, no announcement
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: on who's going to be with him, but he says,
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: this guy's a real blank, blank. He says, there's been
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: a collective awakening around Palestinian liberation. Not really. It's just
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: a bunch of anti-Semites who've risen up, uh, The power
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: of billionaires that try to censor us. What we expect
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: from artists right now is to stand up to this.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: It's 2026. Being apolitical during a genocide doesn't work anymore. Well,
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: you know, listen, Hamas launched the most disgusting Holocaust in
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: modern times on October 7th. We didn't hear a peep
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: out of you. Then a genocide in Africa against Christians.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: We didn't hear a peep out of you. Iran just
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: slaughtered 40,000 citizens in the street, just killed them for protesting.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: We didn't hear anything from you. But when it's something
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: that they can bring their anti-Semitism to, I don't know,
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: I guess there's always been a little anti-Semitism in the world,
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: but I don't know what this is with the left
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: embracing this anti-Semitism. loving this anti-Semitism. And whoever thought he
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: had ever lived to see a time where that kind
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: of bigotry would be something you'd brag about if you
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: were a candidate. We've got a mayor of New York
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: who's an open anti-Semite who will out and out engage
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: in hate speech. It's unbelievable. And it's going to take
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: down the normal Democratic Party in the process. You know,
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: the problem is when you start that Hate speech, anti-Semitism,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: when you start that kind of bigotry, it spreads. You know,
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: right now it's anti-Israel, anti-Jews. Next thing you know, it'll
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: be anti-Christians. It spreads. You got to stop it here.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: What's going to stamp it out? I don't know.
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Common sense, decency at some point will stop it. You
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: got to blame, really blame Democratic leaders like Schumer and
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Hakeem Jeffries. Schumer is the leader of the party. Hakeem
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: Jeffries is the leader. Hochul's the leader in the state.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: You got to blame them. They're the ones that have
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: to stop it. It's in their own party. It's taking
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: place in their own world, and they've done nothing to
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: stop it. Schumer. Remember all that anti-Semitism at Columbia and
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: the Jewish students getting harassed, physically harassed? Remember all that?
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: Schumer went and hid. Nobody heard from him during that period.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Mamdani yelling his anti-Semitism, ginning it up. Never heard from Schumer.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: He's the leader of the Democratic Party. He's the highest
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: ranking Jewish politician. Never heard from him on it. Disgusting,
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: disgusting behavior from Chuck Schumer. So unfortunately, I'm looking now,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: the press ban at the White House has been totally lifted.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Access to all the press has been restored. Yeah, that's
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: too bad. It was fun keeping them out and it
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: gave them something to talk about. You know, for all
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: these MS Now and CNN types, all they do all
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: day is tell you how much they hate Donald Trump,
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: how repulsed they are by Donald Trump, burning hatred for
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: Donald Trump. But then they're mad they can't be in
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: the room with him. Generally, if I hate somebody, I
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: don't stay in the same room with them. I don't
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: want access to them. In fact, I can't get far
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: enough away from them. So President Trump spending the day,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: the second day, he's spending the whole day with President
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Xi of China and Xi's wife, Madam Ping. Looks like
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: a lot of fun. Look at her. Look at her
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: on the screen. Look at these two. We hope they
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: don't die, but if they were to die, it's easy
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: on the funeral. I don't think you have to embalm them.
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Look at them. They already look like they're embalmed. But
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: I don't know what the hell they talk to them
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: about all day. President once again wearing an overcoat. Wow. Yeah,
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: it's definitely not. I was out last night. I saw
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: a lot of overcoats everywhere. Summer ended fast. Netanyahu, great
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: speech yesterday, concluded with a real warning for Iran. A
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: real warning for Iran that it's over for them. The
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: leadership of Iran, the citizens, everybody else will rise up
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: and take over. Hey, those people that walked out. I'm
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: playing it every hour. Let me play this clip. As
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: soon as Netanyahu got up to speak, he hadn't said
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: a word yet. Just as he stood at the podium,
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: half the delegates walked out. I'm looking at the list here.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: Who walked out? Uh, it was a representative for Iran, Qatar,
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: Saudi Arabia, Palestinian authority, and others, other countries. They cleared out.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: They literally, he hadn't said a word yet. As soon
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: as he got up, they walked out. But, uh, You know,
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: he pointed out all these things that it was Israel
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: that supplied two million tons of food into Gaza. He
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: ran down the list of the great things Israel has done,
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: but they walked out. Netanyahu responded perfectly.
- 1:14:41Speaker 12: Mr.
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: President, before I begin, just a quick announcement. If there
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: are any other moral cowards who haven't yet left this hall,
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: please do so now.
- 1:14:56Speaker 7: Thank you very much.
- 1:15:01Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: So that's a great leader and an orator. If you
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: have not done so, please do so. See, now if
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: it was Trump, he'd say, for those of you who haven't,
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: get the blank out. Right in the UN General Assembly.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: I know you're not supposed to do that, but he's
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: half a Howard Stern president. And that's the way he
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: does things. Now, speaking of this anti-Semitism, our crazy, nutty
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: Mayor Mamdani, Mr. Anti-Semite, and his allies are holding a
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: big New York City fundraiser for the Michigan anti-Semite Abdul Al-Sayed.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: The bash will take place on the Bowery on October
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: 5th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Co-hosts include the
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: jeweler Alex Bittar, former REM frontman Michael Stipe, and Democrat
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: Brad Lander. These are all the anti-Semites. They're all coming
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: to this. Congressman Jamal Bowman. Brooklyn Councilman Shi Asi. Contributors
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: can donate up to $ 57, 000 to the Abdul Michigan Victory Fund.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: It's $ 57, 000. You can donate to the anti-Semitic fund here. Now,
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: I guess there might be some Democrats who are pushing
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: for for this Abdul Syed, just because it's a crucial
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: seat for the Democrats to take control of the Senate.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Michigan is key to that. They've got to win Michigan
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: to take control of the Senate. So there might be
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: some Democrats who are jumping in because of that, but
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: I don't care what the reason is. You can't support anti-Semites.
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: There's no excuse for that. You remember that story about
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: Thomas Jefferson? He slept with the slaves. In fact, there
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: was one slave, Sally Hemings. Not only did he sleep
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: with her, He fathered a child with her. This has
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: been the rumor for years and years and years. Historians
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: have felt that this is what happened. Well, it's been
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: absolutely confirmed now. In one of the books, Jefferson had
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: books he would write in journals, diaries. Apparently, in one
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: of the books, some of Jefferson's hair was found between
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: the pages. And they had Jefferson's hair, which even though
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: it's hundreds of years old, you can still DNA test.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: So they DNA tested it. And it proves he did
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: have children with the slave Sally Hemings. And it's, of course,
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: years later, but we've absolutely confirmed it now. Unfortunately, they're
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: all long gone. If she were around today, Sally Hemings
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: would be, she'd be on Rachel Maddow Monday night, exclusive interview.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: She'd be on CNN. The New York Times would be
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: interviewing her. So, hey, McDonald's, I don't know if this
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: is smart. McDonald's, how big is McDonald's? It's as big
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: as it can be. But they're worried about Starbucks, and
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: they're worried about Chipotle. So McDonald's is adding things to
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: the menu to take on Starbucks and Chipotle. First of all,
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: does anybody like the food at Starbucks? You do? No,
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: it's not that good. It's not... Cheese and fruit doesn't count.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: They just cut that up. They don't make that. They
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: go buy some cheese and they put it and they
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: throw some fruit in. That's not... I don't mean... I'm
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: talking about the things they make. It's not... You know what's...
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: You know what's funny? Dunkin' Donuts, they... Dunkin' Donuts, their
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: coffee is better than Starbucks. But Starbucks, the donuts are
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: probably better than Dunkin' Donuts. It doesn't make any sense.
- 1:18:48Speaker 10: But.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: they're really worried about Starbucks for some reason. So, you know,
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: the one thing they have at Starbucks is those little
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: egg bites in the morning. McDonald's has the greatest breakfast
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: on earth, the Egg McMuffin. But apparently this is one
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: of the reasons for this. Ozempic is so big. Those
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: GLP-1 shots are so big. 30 million Americans are on
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: that stuff. And when you're on those Ozempic things, you
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: can't eat much. You can only eat a little. So
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: apparently Starbucks is doing very well with a little egg
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: bite because it's like two bites. So if you're on Ozempic,
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: it's a perfect breakfast because you can't eat the egg muffin.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: You can eat two bites and you got to throw
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: away the whole thing. So McDonald's is going to make
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: an egg bite just like Starbucks. All right. Okay. This
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: one I could see. But they also want to take
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: on Chipotle. And Chipotle's got the best, the burrito bowl
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: is phenomenal. Apparently, Chipotle's considered very healthy fast food, healthier
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: than McDonald's. And it's becoming bigger than ever, Chipotle. So
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: they're going to make their own something, burrito bowl. They
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: haven't said exactly what.
- 1:20:02Speaker 11: But.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: When you go to McDonald's, do you think Mexicans, Spanish,
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know. You may be in
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: a tricky area there, McDonald's. They're also going to add
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: a classic grilled chicken sandwich. All right, that's taken on Chick-fil-A.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: Chick-fil-A is phenomenal. Also, they're going to make wraps for
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: another on-the-go protein-packed item. You know, a lot of places,
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: those salad places, Chopped and all the rest, That's their
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: big thing, selling those wraps. And that kind of stuff,
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: it's considered healthier than McDonald's. So that's one reason McDonald's
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: getting into it. So they'll have healthier items. But it's
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: also trying to compete with all the fast food chains
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: that have risen up and become very big. But in
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: the business world, that's sometimes the most dangerous thing you
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: can do is try to be somebody else. Smartest thing
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: you can do is just do what you do best.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: And remember... when Steve, you know, Apple was a mess
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: when Steve Jobs came back. Apple wasn't doing well. And
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: he noticed the problem was they sold 85 different products.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: And the first thing he said when he came in there,
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: just do what we do best. Let's get rid of
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: 81 of these products. We'll just sell four things. We'll
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: just sell a computer, a phone. The same thing with McDonald's.
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: Just figure out what you do best and just do
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: that better than... Anybody else? So let's see. The press
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: is back. The White House ban is over. The press
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: is back. Oh, you're supposed to get all excited because
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: today is the 25th of September. And I don't know
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: even what this means. They're saying it's 9 to 5 day.
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: 9 to 5 day. So I guess the song 9
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: to 5. If you're getting excited about this, you really
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: need to reexamine your life. This is not that exciting.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: First of all, it's not 9-2-5 day. It's 9-2-5-2-6 day.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: And I don't remember any song called 9-2-5-2-6. We'll take
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 1:22:14Speaker 13: 800-321-0710.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: Mark Simone.
- 1:22:15Speaker 8: Mr.
- 1:22:15Speaker 16: New York.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR. Hey,
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: let's take some calls. Let's go to Bob in Florida. Bob,
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: how you doing?
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: Hello, Mark. Thank you for doing what you do.
- 1:22:42Speaker 16: You know, it's being widely not reported that the judge's
- 1:22:46Speaker 16: order to return those propaganda organizations to the White House
- 1:22:51Speaker 16: is a temporary restraining order.
- 1:22:53Speaker 8: You can't find that in the news anywhere.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: Yeah, you can. That's how you know that. No, I
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: got enough of X.
- 1:23:02Speaker 7: You tell me which.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. It's been said.
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: You tell me your source.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Well, that's a new source. Anyway, it's a 14-day restraining order.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: What that actually means, whatever they presented on that day
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: in court, the judge felt they had enough of a
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: case that it needed to be heard. So there's a
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: 14-day restraining order until the next court date where they
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: can really lay out their case. They have some kind
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: of a case. They're going to try First Amendment. It's
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: not really a First Amendment issue because they're not being silenced.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: They can go on the air and say whatever they want.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: It's about access to certain rooms in the White House.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: Let's go to Ed in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Ed, how are
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: you doing?
- 1:23:44Speaker 19: Hey, good morning, Mark. Thanks for taking my call.
- 1:23:46Speaker 14: I hope you're well.
- 1:23:47Speaker 19: Back to the Jeffersons. I was thinking back in 78, 79,
- 1:23:52Speaker 19: I took a job from Jefferson Tank Management. And every
- 1:23:55Speaker 19: year they made a big hullabaloo about, I don't know
- 1:23:57Speaker 19: if it was Jefferson's birthday, down to Richard's on the
- 1:23:59Speaker 19: 4th of July. but the African-American descendants of Jefferson West Day,
- 1:24:04Speaker 19: the parade in Charlottesville. And I know the big stink
- 1:24:08Speaker 19: of that.
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: Ed, your phone is cracking up twice again. It's not you.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: It's the phone line. Let's go to Jerry Greenwich, Connecticut. Jerry,
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: how are you doing?
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: Very well. Thank you, Mark. Thank you for taking my call.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: Great show.
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: Mark, there is three people that they killed. The men, Goldberg,
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: the four guys, the woman that killed his kid, three kids,
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: and Mangione that killed this guy, they're still around. They
- 1:24:36Speaker 5: should have been put in electric, and they're still around,
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: and they're wasting a lot of money from the taxpayer money.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: Why do they do that? I don't know.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: I know. You're living in a crazy era where criminals
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: are let loose, the victims get locked up, the Kathy Hochulman.
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: And that Goldberg that is trying to get free.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: Yeah, there's Kathy Hochul, Cuomo, no bail, no jail. It's
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: insane kind of stuff. Harvey Weinstein is the only guy
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: I have put in jail by Alvin Bragg. And Bragg
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: bragging about it with the press conference. He's so proud.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: He put the criminals in jail, too. Let's go to
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: Richard in Bayshore. Richard, how are you doing?
- 1:25:18Speaker 19: Sally Hemings in Jefferson.
- 1:25:19Speaker 20: I want to tell you a little bit more.
- 1:25:22Speaker 14: Yep.
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: Call us back. See, it's the bottom two lines. I
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: don't know what it is. Those bottom two lines, everybody
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: gets distorted. It's not you. It's our phone lines. Let's
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: go to Bill in Cranford. Bill, how are you doing?
- 1:25:35Speaker 12: Hey, Mark.
- 1:25:36Speaker 20: Blakeman, the only criticism they seem to have about Blakeman
- 1:25:41Speaker 20: for governor is the fact that he's got a good
- 1:25:43Speaker 20: relationship with Trump. But then as governor of New York,
- 1:25:47Speaker 20: to have a good relationship with the president of the
- 1:25:49Speaker 20: United States, it's not exactly a bad thing.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: Yeah, actually, you're right. That's a good response. Blakeman should
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: run ads saying she's got no relationship with Trump. Trump
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: loves me. I can get money for New York. I
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: can get all sorts of federal help for New York
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: whenever I need it. That's a good thing. You should
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: bring that up a lot. Yeah, he should respond to
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: those ads. She's got no relationship with Trump. Can't get
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: anything for us. I can get the federal money, grants, aid,
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: everything we need. Good idea. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: how you doing?
- 1:26:21Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. When I heard yesterday
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: that this crony judge lifted the ban, the press ban
- 1:26:28Speaker 7: on the fake news organizations, I told my girlfriend, I says...
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: Trump should just give them access to the broom closet
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: in the hallway in the White House. Mark, how could
- 1:26:40Speaker 7: you forget? Look on the calendar. Today's not only 9-2-5.
- 1:26:44Speaker 7: Today's Native American Day. It says it right on my calendar.
- 1:26:52Speaker 7: It's Native American Day.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: What is Native American Day?
- 1:26:55Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:26:55Speaker 7: Mark, speaking of campaign contributions... A number of years ago,
- 1:27:03Speaker 7: in fact, I got the bee of my bonnet from
- 1:27:07Speaker 7: listening to your show. I called up a congressperson's, I'm
- 1:27:12Speaker 7: not going to mention their name, office that I had
- 1:27:15Speaker 7: a beef with. And when I called, I got some
- 1:27:18Speaker 7: secretary at first, and I said... Well, I want to
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: make a significant contribution.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Ah, see, that's the way to do it.
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: So, and then when I got the person in charge
- 1:27:29Speaker 7: of the money, then I let them know what was
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: all about the conversation. And none of it could be
- 1:27:37Speaker 7: traced because I used a burner phone. And before I
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: hung up, I said, by the way, two of my
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: friends right now are sitting in their car, not very
- 1:27:46Speaker 7: far from your office.
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: Vincent, you can't do that kind of stuff.
- 1:27:51Speaker 7: Well, I did it, Mark.
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: You're not supposed to do that.
- 1:27:57Speaker 7: Excuse me?
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: That's like when Fido showed up to see Tony Soprano
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: after hiding. He goes, my brother's over there watching. What
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: does that mean?
- 1:28:05Speaker 7: In the Sopranos when Tony Soprano's daughter's in the restaurant
- 1:28:11Speaker 7: and some other guy from one of the other.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: Gangs said something.
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: Disgusting to her. She goes home and she's talking to
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: Tony's wife and Tony sees that she's sad and everything
- 1:28:25Speaker 7: and then the daughter tells Tony Soprano what happened, and
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: Tony goes in the room. Well, you know the rest
- 1:28:32Speaker 7: of the story.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: He beats the guy to a pulp. He knocks his
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: teeth out. It's awful.
- 1:28:36Speaker 10: He puts his teeth.
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: But, Vincent, in real life, you're not supposed to do that.
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: Really?
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Oh, look who I'm talking to. Look who I'm talking to. Well,
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: you know, you shouldn't do that. Maybe just a strongly
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: worded letter.
- 1:28:51Speaker 7: Well, what?
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: Look who I'm talking to. Anyway, we got to a point.
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: All right. Vincent, try to behave. All right. Thanks.
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: I will. I'll try.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: Stay out of trouble.
- 1:29:03Speaker 16: All right.
- 1:29:03Speaker 7: Best I can, Mark.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: All right. Thanks for calling. Well, when we come back, oh,
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: Jackie the Joke Man, Jackie Martling. You know, Rodney, remember Dangerfields?
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: Rodney Dangerfields Club? We're going to talk about that in
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: a moment and other matters coming up on 710WOR. It's
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: the Mark Simone Show.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: Live from the WOR LifeVac Studios.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: Well, one of our favorite comedians, Jackie the Joke Man,
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: Jackie Martling. Hey, by the way, remember Dangerfield? It's a
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: great club, Dangerfield. It's back, and it's called Rodney's now.
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: Jackie Martling will be appearing there tomorrow night at 8 o'clock.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: He'll be there tomorrow night, you know, where Dangerfield was. Rodney's,
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: it's on 1st Avenue. Next Saturday night, October 3rd, 7 o'clock,
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: he'll be at The Brokerage, Belmore, Long Island. with Rich Harkaway.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: You want a personalized video? Go to cameo.com slash Jackie Martling,
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: and everything's at his website, jokeland.com, jokeland.com. Jackie Martling, how
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: you doing?
- 1:30:14Speaker 12: Well, I'd say I was doing great, except I think
- 1:30:16Speaker 12: today might have been my last swim.
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: It's a little.
- 1:30:19Speaker 12: Rough out there. It's a little crazy. I think we've
- 1:30:22Speaker 12: got a Nor'easter coming, and I think I've got to
- 1:30:24Speaker 12: say goodbye to the summer, which... You know how much
- 1:30:27Speaker 12: that bothers me.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he lives right on the beach. That's Long Island Sound.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: It's not too cold in there?
- 1:30:33Speaker 12: No, it's still beautiful. I just hope the sound doesn't
- 1:30:36Speaker 12: come to visit my living room.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: That's all.
- 1:30:39Speaker 13: Oh, yeah.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: Long Island's supposed to get the worst of it tomorrow.
- 1:30:42Speaker 12: Yeah, but it's been beautiful. It's been so nice out here.
- 1:30:45Speaker 12: And I love Indian summer. You know, it's just fantastic.
- 1:30:49Speaker 12: The water stays warm. You keep swimming, keep having fun,
- 1:30:52Speaker 12: you know.
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: Are we allowed to say Indian summer anymore? Is it
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: indigenous summer or– You know what?
- 1:30:58Speaker 12: I don't know. I always thought it was a really
- 1:31:00Speaker 12: complimentary thing, but so many things I think, you know,
- 1:31:03Speaker 12: I always thought having a football team named after.
- 1:31:06Speaker 7: You was complimentary, but.
- 1:31:07Speaker 12: What do I know?
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: Hey, you're going to be at Rodney's. That used to
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: be Dangerfields. You and I, everybody, we used to spend
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: a lot of time in Dangerfields.
- 1:31:18Speaker 12: Mark, it's exactly the same. The stage is the same.
- 1:31:22Speaker 12: It's in the same place. The small round tables with
- 1:31:26Speaker 12: all jammed in, it's just like walking into a time warp.
- 1:31:30Speaker 12: The only difference is Rodney isn't there and Big Fat
- 1:31:33Speaker 12: Bobby isn't at the door.
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: Bobby Campbell, the maitre d', all he would ever say
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: to anybody, how many are you? How many are you?
- 1:31:42Speaker 12: It was a great fun. I worked there a couple
- 1:31:45Speaker 12: months ago, and it was just fantastic. You know, the
- 1:31:48Speaker 12: people love it, and it just feels like you're back
- 1:31:51Speaker 12: 40 years.
- 1:31:53Speaker 7: It's just a trip, a great trip.
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: Dangerfield's with the best comedy club, Tony Bavacqua, the owner,
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: and right in the middle of a crowded room, Rodney
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: would walk into the room in his bathrobe. Do you
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: remember that?
- 1:32:04Speaker 12: Oh, God. I have nickel for every time I saw
- 1:32:07Speaker 12: him in the bathrobe. Not only in his bathrobe, but
- 1:32:10Speaker 12: what was under it. You know. but it was great
- 1:32:15Speaker 12: fun you know and I got my friend Rich Harkaway
- 1:32:17Speaker 12: opening for me tomorrow night and he's he brought a
- 1:32:20Speaker 12: lot of people in last time so I'm expecting a
- 1:32:22Speaker 12: really fun time I know it's supposed to be bad
- 1:32:24Speaker 12: weather but let's hope we beat it that's all yeah.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: It's tomorrow night at Rodney's where Dangerfield used to be
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: hey remember in the old Dangerfield days there were these
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: unknown comics there that all became huge stars.
- 1:32:34Speaker 12: It was you know you never knew who you know
- 1:32:37Speaker 12: one person could go into oblivion and the next day
- 1:32:40Speaker 12: the next person goes on Johnny Carson and uh It
- 1:32:44Speaker 12: was like a lottery. Nobody knew anything. Nobody knew what
- 1:32:47Speaker 12: was going to happen, you know.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: Yeah. So Howard Stern's down to one day a week.
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: Of course, you were a big part of that show
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: for years. What do you think he'll do the rest?
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: What does he do the rest of the week?
- 1:33:01Speaker 12: I don't know, but it looks like he's working as
- 1:33:02Speaker 12: little as I am. I don't know. You know, good
- 1:33:08Speaker 12: luck to him. Whatever happens is fine by me, you know.
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: Hey, by the way, he's got, Jackie wrote a great book.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: It's called From Bow to Stern. People can still get
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: that right on Amazon or someplace?
- 1:33:18Speaker 12: Yeah, it actually sells every time. It's really funny. Every
- 1:33:22Speaker 12: time Howard does anything and any kind of hiccup at all,
- 1:33:26Speaker 12: all of a sudden sales of my book go up
- 1:33:28Speaker 12: because so many people didn't even know it was available.
- 1:33:30Speaker 12: So then when they start searching, all of a sudden
- 1:33:33Speaker 12: my book pops up and they buy it.
- 1:33:35Speaker 15: So it's, go buy it.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: Great stories in the book. It's called From Bow to Stern.
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: It's Jackie Martling's book. Autobiography. Get it on Amazon.
- 1:33:44Speaker 12: All right. So I got a horrible joke for you.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:33:48Speaker 12: So the cave woman yells to her husband, Muckluck, saber-toothed
- 1:33:54Speaker 12: tiger just ran into mother's cave. And her husband says,
- 1:33:58Speaker 12: Why do I care what happens to a saber-toothed tiger?
- 1:34:04Speaker 12: That's funny. All right. So a guy goes for skydiving lessons.
- 1:34:10Speaker 12: skydiving lessons the instructor says very simple you leap out
- 1:34:13Speaker 12: of the plane you pull the ripcord nothing happens you
- 1:34:16Speaker 12: pull emergency cord that easy guy jumps out of the
- 1:34:19Speaker 12: plane completely forgets what to do you got no idea
- 1:34:22Speaker 12: what to do and he's zooming down zoom zooming down
- 1:34:26Speaker 12: all of a sudden he passes another guy coming up
- 1:34:30Speaker 12: and he says hey man you know anything about parachutes
- 1:34:34Speaker 12: the other guy says no Do you know how to
- 1:34:37Speaker 12: light a gas stove?
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: I like that one.
- 1:34:43Speaker 12: That's so fun. Adam Sandler, I was on the set of,
- 1:34:51Speaker 12: what's it called, Grown Ups 3 the other day. I
- 1:34:53Speaker 12: did some background work just to go say hello to
- 1:34:56Speaker 12: the whole gang. And Adam Sandler told me a great joke.
- 1:35:00Speaker 12: Two old friends meet on the street, and the first
- 1:35:03Speaker 12: old guy says, so how are you feeling? The second
- 1:35:07Speaker 12: guy says, in a word, good. In two words, not good.
- 1:35:16Speaker 12: How great is that? All right, so where would you
- 1:35:18Speaker 12: find a turtle with no legs?
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: A turtle with no legs? No, where?
- 1:35:24Speaker 12: Right where you left them.
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: I never heard you choke up there for a second.
- 1:35:34Speaker 12: Whoa. Oh, no, I always get choked up.
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: Hey, Jackie Martin.
- 1:35:38Speaker 12: Angelo goes up to his neighbor and says, hey, Tony,
- 1:35:41Speaker 12: you like a woman with the biggest sloppy bazooms drooping
- 1:35:45Speaker 12: down so far? He says, no. He says, you like
- 1:35:47Speaker 12: a woman with a big, huge rear end? She look
- 1:35:50Speaker 12: like a dump truck?
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: He says, no.
- 1:35:52Speaker 12: Do you like a woman with a big, thick mustache
- 1:35:55Speaker 12: and she smells like garlic all the time? He says,
- 1:35:59Speaker 12: of course not.
- 1:35:59Speaker 15: He says.
- 1:36:01Speaker 12: Then why you fool around with my wife?
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: Well, you're coughing a lot. Hey, Jackie Martling, have you
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: been to the new Carnegie Deli since it opened?
- 1:36:11Speaker 12: I have not, and I'm so upset because I know
- 1:36:14Speaker 12: Sheba Mason did a whole opening thing, and I wrote
- 1:36:16Speaker 12: to her and said, why didn't you have me over there?
- 1:36:18Speaker 12: You know, they used to have six different 8x10s of me,
- 1:36:22Speaker 12: like from every different walk of life over the decades.
- 1:36:26Speaker 12: And you know that they named... You know, they named
- 1:36:30Speaker 12: a sandwich after Henny Youngman. They named a sandwich after everybody.
- 1:36:33Speaker 12: And I used to say to the lady, was it Sandy?
- 1:36:36Speaker 12: Was that the woman or the guy?
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: The guy, the terrible guy. He's gone.
- 1:36:40Speaker 12: And I said to his wife, I said, you know,
- 1:36:42Speaker 12: everybody's got a sandwich named after them. Why won't you
- 1:36:45Speaker 12: name a sandwich after me? And she kept ignoring me.
- 1:36:48Speaker 12: And finally I went up to her and I said,
- 1:36:50Speaker 12: all right, here you go. How about this? Jackie Martling's
- 1:36:54Speaker 12: What Am I, Chopped Liver? And she said it's very funny,
- 1:37:00Speaker 12: and then she didn't put me in there. And then
- 1:37:01Speaker 12: they all got caught. But now it's opening, and it's
- 1:37:04Speaker 12: right next door, I suppose.
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's where the stage was. It's Marion Harper and
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: Sari Harper. The owner's great. It's better than ever.
- 1:37:11Speaker 20: Oh, I can't wait.
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: They saved all the pictures. They're back up on the walls.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: I think I saw your picture up there, too. It's
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: one of the pictures.
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: Oh, now that.
- 1:37:20Speaker 12: You know, I'm a very shallow man, and you just
- 1:37:22Speaker 12: made my day. Oh, okay. All right, so a drunk...
- 1:37:28Speaker 12: A drunk stumbles into a confessional. The priest hears a grunt,
- 1:37:31Speaker 12: but then the priest doesn't hear anything, so he bangs.
- 1:37:33Speaker 7: On the wall.
- 1:37:35Speaker 12: The drunk says, Forget it, buddy. There's no paper in
- 1:37:38Speaker 12: this one either. All right, so the doctor says, My friend...
- 1:37:49Speaker 12: You have an incurable disease. There's nothing I can do.
- 1:37:53Speaker 12: The guy says, come on, doc. You got any advice
- 1:37:56Speaker 12: for me at all? The doctor says, take three mud
- 1:38:00Speaker 12: baths every day. The guy says, will that prolong my life?
- 1:38:04Speaker 12: He says, no. but it'll get you used to the dirt.
- 1:38:10Speaker 12: That's a little dark, but it's fun.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: No, that's a good joke. I don't know.
- 1:38:18Speaker 12: What is the deal with sex nowadays?
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: You're asking me? I don't know.
- 1:38:23Speaker 12: Times have changed. Nowadays, girls, they don't want to cuddle.
- 1:38:28Speaker 12: They just want to get paid and get out of
- 1:38:30Speaker 12: the car. That's a little bad.
- 1:38:37Speaker 7: No, that's good.
- 1:38:38Speaker 15: So fun.
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: Oh, he actually stopped. Hey, if I have to speak
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: somewhere and I got three or four jokes I want
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: to open with, I got to write them down. I
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: got to sneak a look. I can't remember. How the
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: hell do you remember an hour of a million jokes?
- 1:38:53Speaker 12: Well, because that's what I do. That's all I do.
- 1:38:57Speaker 12: You know, you do what you do. I do what
- 1:38:59Speaker 12: I do. You know, when a doctor's operating on somebody,
- 1:39:02Speaker 12: he doesn't have a textbook there saying, well, now take
- 1:39:04Speaker 12: out this and now take out, you know. If you
- 1:39:07Speaker 12: saw a doctor take out a textbook, you'd get up
- 1:39:10Speaker 12: and run out of the room, right?
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: That's a good point. Well, you do it every night
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: of your life.
- 1:39:15Speaker 12: Here's a question. I got a question for you. Your
- 1:39:19Speaker 12: wife is barking at the front door and your dog
- 1:39:22Speaker 12: is barking at the back door. Which one do you
- 1:39:25Speaker 12: let in? You let in the dog because he stops
- 1:39:31Speaker 12: barking after you let him.
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: In.
- 1:39:37Speaker 12: As a single man, you can laugh at that.
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: That's true. We're just about out of time, but I
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: just want to remind you. Jackie Martling, tomorrow night he's
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: appearing at Rodney's. That's the place that used to be Dangerfields, right?
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: It's on First Avenue. It's now called Rodney's. He'll be
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: there tomorrow night at 8 o'clock. Next Saturday night, a
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: week from tomorrow, he'll be at Brokerage, Belmore, Long Island.
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: And get his book. If you haven't read his book,
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: it's a great book. It's called From Bow to Stern.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: It's on Amazon. And everything's at your website, right? Jokeland.com.
- 1:40:12Speaker 12: Everything's on Jokeland.com. And hello to the boys at Bayville Seafood.
- 1:40:16Speaker 12: They're sad to see the summer go, but people keep
