- 1:15Speaker 1: I'm the host. My name is DJ Well. Special guests
- 1:17Speaker 1: in the building.
- 1:17Speaker 2: To my left, we're going to introduce my man's last
- 1:20Speaker 2: But to my far left, we got my dog.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But she'll be hearing out the prillies. Are you up man?
- 1:24Speaker 1: Long weekend? Asty, We had a good time this weekend.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I appreciate y'all and I'm here, thank God for another
- 1:33Speaker 4: day above ground.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's like the people who said green and rods and text.
- 1:38Speaker 2: That's what you just gave us on the podcast.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Amen. To my right, my dog young, not your young tig.
- 1:45Speaker 1: How you are man, I'm good man.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Another special guest, another legend in the building, a legend.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And every time I look at my phone, I get
- 1:53Speaker 2: an alert back when I was playing ice to be
- 1:56Speaker 2: scared as hell. Now man, it's all good to man.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So I'm so happy to have my guy in the building.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I let you do the introduction or for the show. Look,
- 2:04Speaker 2: if you watch basketball, if you watch sports, you know
- 2:06Speaker 2: who this man is. You know what I'm saying, he
- 2:08Speaker 2: says the timeline of Blaze, good and bad. He's always
- 2:11Speaker 2: got the information we need man, none other the legendary
- 2:16Speaker 2: NBA inside Sean, I appreciate you putting the five twenty
- 2:20Speaker 2: big dogs.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Appreciate you guys. Appreciate you guys have me Jeff.
- 2:23Speaker 5: It's all love, It's all love. Appreciate appreciate you guys
- 2:26Speaker 5: having me on. You know, I covered Jeff as a player,
- 2:30Speaker 5: cover his teams. So to see him on the other
- 2:32Speaker 5: side now doing his thing with the podcast, I know
- 2:35Speaker 5: he's come on my show fand and running back as well.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I think I think Jeff's just got a long, you know,
- 2:40Speaker 3: long track here.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Man. Appreciate that that second act.
- 2:43Speaker 2: So so how is it crazy for you to him
- 2:46Speaker 2: to have interviews with you and barely talking. You see
- 2:48Speaker 2: him on the podcast, You mad you didn't get that content?
- 2:51Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, Jeff saved himself for when it
- 2:54Speaker 5: mattered most, and that's the second half, the second act
- 2:57Speaker 5: of his career.
- 2:58Speaker 3: So I think I think he played it's smart.
- 3:00Speaker 5: He left a lot of people, He left a lot
- 3:03Speaker 5: of people hanging on every word now because they didn't
- 3:05Speaker 5: know any of these stories before. So now he's letting them,
- 3:09Speaker 5: letting them go. And you know, I've worked with a
- 3:12Speaker 5: lot of former players, right, Chandler Parsons, Lou Williams, they
- 3:15Speaker 5: do my Fanto TV show. Now, yeah, our show is great,
- 3:19Speaker 5: and then Jeff's come on, We've it's Carter on different times.
- 3:22Speaker 5: I've done something of the Mind Shepherd a bunch of guys,
- 3:24Speaker 5: but it was crazy, is they're all so different, they're
- 3:27Speaker 5: all so unique, and they all have these different experiences
- 3:29Speaker 5: that they can speak to. And I think Jeff is
- 3:32Speaker 5: obviously one of the one of the ones, one of
- 3:34Speaker 5: the main guys I think now that's able to speak
- 3:36Speaker 5: eloquently and bring up like past experiences and then tie
- 3:40Speaker 5: it into into what's going on now.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I think that's one thing that people say a lot
- 3:44Speaker 2: about it to me, podcasts meet podcasts, but a lot
- 3:46Speaker 2: of things our community appreciates is the NBA podcast because
- 3:50Speaker 2: we get to see a lot of background stories to
- 3:52Speaker 2: a lot of different stuff, like you like, I think
- 3:54Speaker 2: I know this, I thought I'll know this, and you
- 3:56Speaker 2: can hear somebody talk about it, and they make you
- 3:58Speaker 2: respect a performance or a situation reaction so much better.
- 4:02Speaker 5: So Jeff, my things, when did you did, you know
- 4:05Speaker 5: late in your career, like once I'm done playing, I know,
- 4:08Speaker 5: I know, I got a bunch of stories in the can.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Right, Nah, I always told these stories. This was like
- 4:13Speaker 2: me every day, but this is just your boys. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 2: we just we always talk like this. And one day
- 4:19Speaker 2: we was doing a podcast. They did a podcast before me.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I forgot what it was called. Was that's an opinion?
- 4:29Speaker 2: But they had a podcast before and I came on
- 4:32Speaker 2: that show and basically it was like, just tell us
- 4:35Speaker 2: some stories, like what's the league like? And I was like, dang,
- 4:37Speaker 2: that kind of work, and I wanted to be a
- 4:39Speaker 2: part of their team.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Beautiful ship.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You still way facts but obviously, man, we know what
- 4:50Speaker 2: you do now, But how did you get started?
- 4:52Speaker 5: So, you know, growing up, I love the NBA like
- 4:55Speaker 5: I love playing basketball, Like in my in my mind
- 4:58Speaker 5: and my dream, I would have loved to be where
- 4:59Speaker 5: Jeff is that right, playing basketball, playing the NBA.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But obviously that's there's very.
- 5:04Speaker 5: That's a very very scarce job position league. I mean,
- 5:08Speaker 5: you guys are four hundred of the best, four hundred
- 5:11Speaker 5: and fifty of the best to do it.
- 5:13Speaker 3: It's such a scarce company. If you want to call
- 5:15Speaker 3: it that.
- 5:16Speaker 5: So once I got cut early in high school sophomore year,
- 5:19Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm not playing. I'm not playing on my team.
- 5:22Speaker 5: I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do. And I
- 5:24Speaker 5: remember my English teacher that year told me, you should write.
- 5:26Speaker 1: For the school newspaper. You're you're a good writer.
- 5:29Speaker 5: You have you have passion with basketball. So I just
- 5:31Speaker 5: combined both my passions. I started writing a lot, wrote
- 5:34Speaker 5: for the school newspaper. From that, I was writing a
- 5:36Speaker 5: bulls blog because I grew up in Chicago, So I
- 5:39Speaker 5: did a bulls blog and from there went to real GM.
- 5:43Speaker 5: I want to say junior senior year of high school.
- 5:46Speaker 5: This is all in high school, so sophomore year of
- 5:47Speaker 5: high school. Then then around junior senior year, I started
- 5:51Speaker 5: REALGM dot com. Where to me, like that was the pinnacle,
- 5:54Speaker 5: Like Real GM and Hoopside. I would always be refreshing,
- 5:57Speaker 5: like I was obsessed with, like news and behind the
- 6:00Speaker 5: scene and stuff like I was. I would always wonder like,
- 6:03Speaker 5: are the bulls gonna get? Are we gonna get like Jeff?
- 6:05Speaker 5: You know we're gonna trade for Jeff?
- 6:07Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 6:08Speaker 5: I remember one year at the trade deadline, they were
- 6:10Speaker 5: rumored the Bulls to maybe get like TJ.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Ford.
- 6:12Speaker 5: So I was like refreshing hoops ype in Real GM,
- 6:14Speaker 5: like are we gonna get TJ?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Four? We gonna get TJ. Ford? I don't think we
- 6:17Speaker 1: got TJ. Ford. But point being, I was up, That's
- 6:20Speaker 1: what was.
- 6:21Speaker 5: I was obsessed with that, And if a team was
- 6:22Speaker 5: doing bad, I'm like, why is this team struggling? For
- 6:24Speaker 5: team's doing really well or players doing really well. I
- 6:26Speaker 5: was always inquisitive. I wanted to know why guys are
- 6:29Speaker 5: playing well, why teams aren't playing well. So I think,
- 6:33Speaker 5: like now I think about who I'm catering to the fan.
- 6:35Speaker 5: I feel like I was that fan growing up, Like
- 6:37Speaker 5: I was that obsessed person. Like if I wasn't doing
- 6:39Speaker 5: what I'm doing now, I would still be obsessed with
- 6:41Speaker 5: all this stuff anyway. So now I'm just in a
- 6:43Speaker 5: position where I can actually get try to get to
- 6:45Speaker 5: the news first and you know, quench my own thirst
- 6:48Speaker 5: while also you know, help you know, serving the fans
- 6:51Speaker 5: in the audience. Say that's a long story short after
- 6:54Speaker 5: Real GM, yeahoo's sports for three years and I'm at
- 6:57Speaker 5: the athletic stadium, vandal TV everywhere.
- 7:00Speaker 2: You know, what's crazy. Real mus know about REALGM dot com.
- 7:03Speaker 2: If you need any information. I'm solving every basketball argument.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm not talking. I we pulling it up again right too.
- 7:13Speaker 2: It ain't no back and forth about it now. Like
- 7:15Speaker 2: you said you had a crazy journey. But I asked,
- 7:16Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. You do this for a living.
- 7:18Speaker 2: What's the one story to one drop? He was like, Damn,
- 7:21Speaker 2: I wish I got this ten minutes earlier, or damn
- 7:23Speaker 2: I got this two minutes earlier.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I feel like that that happens like every year.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Like I could have pointed to two, I have two
- 7:30Speaker 5: three at the deadline, you know, at the deadline here, like,
- 7:32Speaker 5: but it's always about when you feel one hundred percent comfortable,
- 7:35Speaker 5: like that's the that's the fine line.
- 7:37Speaker 1: That's that that you know.
- 7:38Speaker 5: I feel like I'm towing every day, right, Like you
- 7:40Speaker 5: get so many different things thrown at you, Like around
- 7:43Speaker 5: trade deadline week, I probably had five hundred different scenarios
- 7:48Speaker 5: that I was thinking in my mind or I had
- 7:49Speaker 5: written down to my notepad. And how many of those
- 7:52Speaker 5: actually happened? I mean, Jeff knows, I mean, Jeff player,
- 7:54Speaker 5: you played in the league, Like when you're on a
- 7:56Speaker 5: team so many different things.
- 7:58Speaker 1: It's all fluid day to day.
- 8:00Speaker 5: And and that's why when I was a fan growing up,
- 8:03Speaker 5: when I was when I was growing up, I would
- 8:05Speaker 5: hear players say, Man, I'm taking it one day at
- 8:07Speaker 5: a time.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Oh, I'm just you know, I'm just worried about about today.
- 8:11Speaker 1: That's it.
- 8:11Speaker 3: And I'm like, man, that's that's so.
- 8:14Speaker 1: That's a BS.
- 8:15Speaker 5: But then now you see the league, you're around the league,
- 8:18Speaker 5: and you're even in this field in general, you're working
- 8:20Speaker 5: in general, you could be doing whatever you're doing.
- 8:22Speaker 3: You could be a you know, my mom's a nurse.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Shout out to my mom.
- 8:25Speaker 1: She's a nurse. She's taking day to day.
- 8:27Speaker 5: You know, we're all day to day as far as
- 8:29Speaker 5: our mentality, things can change at any given moment.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It's everything is always, you know, fluid for sure.
- 8:36Speaker 2: He said, you grew up in Chicago, So I imagine
- 8:39Speaker 2: you watched Derrick Rose like MVP. Year you worked for
- 8:43Speaker 2: you did the no content for the Bulls. Basically, what
- 8:48Speaker 2: was that year like seeing d Rose?
- 8:50Speaker 3: So that was twenty ten eleven, that was my junior
- 8:55Speaker 3: year of high school. I mean it was it was insane.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I mean, I know you've played against him.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Did you play with him too?
- 9:05Speaker 2: I played with him the mini but in Chicago at
- 9:08Speaker 2: that moment, like when you used to go around Chicago, he.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Was he was, he was, he was that dude.
- 9:12Speaker 5: And the crazy part is, you know, getting to know
- 9:14Speaker 5: him just a little bit and interview.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Him a few times.
- 9:17Speaker 5: He's he's always stayed true to like who he is
- 9:19Speaker 5: as a person, Like he's never won, Like he never
- 9:22Speaker 5: was someone that was trying to push himself out there
- 9:25Speaker 5: for attention and try to be for the lights. Like
- 9:27Speaker 5: I think. I think he always stayed true to the game.
- 9:30Speaker 5: And then that year in general, I mean.
- 9:32Speaker 1: That team, the way he carried them on a ninth
- 9:34Speaker 1: to night basis.
- 9:35Speaker 5: I know people can debate like statistically, you know, I
- 9:39Speaker 5: see it now people are like leb he stole that
- 9:40Speaker 5: me before, like Lebron one I VP, but like if
- 9:43Speaker 5: you if you get.
- 9:44Speaker 1: The number one seed out of nowhere the way he.
- 9:46Speaker 5: Did it, and he was carrying that team six two
- 9:49Speaker 5: sixty three point guard And to me, you got to say,
- 9:53Speaker 5: he was the most athletic guy.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Oh he's him and us.
- 9:58Speaker 3: The most athletic guys at that position ever ever.
- 10:01Speaker 5: And he dominated, He was dominant. He was dominating his vision.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I think.
- 10:09Speaker 5: You got to put him up there too. I want
- 10:11Speaker 5: to you gotta probably have a little bit more of
- 10:13Speaker 5: a I guess we've seen it, but you know, I
- 10:16Speaker 5: want I want to see more of it.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I want to see in the player. Yeah, I want to.
- 10:20Speaker 3: But d Rose led that team to the conference finals.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I think they took a one oh series lead,
- 10:27Speaker 5: and I think they were up in game two and
- 10:29Speaker 5: I remember, you know, throwing Up'm like, yeah they win this.
- 10:33Speaker 1: You know you're up to oh on the heat, you know.
- 10:36Speaker 5: And the whole thing was he didn't supposedly, you know,
- 10:39Speaker 5: he he wants to lead the team himself with lou All,
- 10:42Speaker 5: Dang Joe, knowing those guys. So I think with him,
- 10:46Speaker 5: it's it's always been about he's always stay true to himself.
- 10:49Speaker 5: In just that season, I mean, you gotta say he dominated.
- 10:51Speaker 1: He dominated. He definitely did that.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Was that was interesting when you said, man, because he
- 10:57Speaker 2: is up there in that list. But I think a
- 10:58Speaker 2: lot of people forget like how athletic Russell Westbrook was
- 11:05Speaker 2: and his prom was a very long time there.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I know, the last couple of years of light their stuff.
- 11:08Speaker 2: We kind of see rust a little bit older, but okay,
- 11:10Speaker 2: see Russ in his prime, Yeah, there was nobody as
- 11:13Speaker 2: physical as big as he was.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And he was power dunking.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, he was power danking d Roses too, But
- 11:19Speaker 5: d Rose was sometimes he would dunk in positions and
- 11:22Speaker 5: like angles that you wouldn't even expect him to get to.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Russe was just brute force.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Like I put it like this, Russ was like a
- 11:30Speaker 2: hell cat he had straight power and d Rose like
- 11:35Speaker 2: a Ferrari. They both got beautiful engines. Both fast fuf
- 11:38Speaker 2: can move. But I got to put John Wall up
- 11:41Speaker 2: there too.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Bro, when you said John Waller made me think early
- 11:44Speaker 4: John wall He was like that.
- 11:45Speaker 1: He just went on TV enough he was he was
- 11:49Speaker 1: fast as hell.
- 11:50Speaker 5: You would have to say he was probably maybe was
- 11:52Speaker 5: he faster than all those other guys.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Nah, No, they like the same speed like John Walls
- 11:58Speaker 2: the fast player I ever played with Darren Fox.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I can see that's crazy. I told you her
- 12:04Speaker 1: he retired.
- 12:05Speaker 2: He too didn't fast, but like Russells Brook, he fast
- 12:08Speaker 2: and ship but they he was so much power. But
- 12:11Speaker 2: like d Rose was that fast, but he could move
- 12:14Speaker 2: like he played against all of them in their prime.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Who do you who do you think was the toughest
- 12:21Speaker 2: toughest the guard was d Rose. Russ was just relentless,
- 12:25Speaker 2: like you'd be like, all right, man, like fuck, like
- 12:28Speaker 2: he's a dog, you know he's gonna call. But he
- 12:30Speaker 2: would shoot forty of them and not think one second.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Like d Rose was like, I'm gonna kill you. When
- 12:35Speaker 2: I need to kill you, I may I get everybody
- 12:37Speaker 2: else involved, and then his points like hurt. Russ was like,
- 12:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna get seventy. If I can get seventy, I'm
- 12:43Speaker 2: getting seventy. I don't care if KD on the wing,
- 12:45Speaker 2: I don't care here, I'll shoot this one for every time.
- 12:49Speaker 1: That was him.
- 12:50Speaker 5: The thing about d Rose that year too, his his
- 12:52Speaker 5: midy was on point. It was a stretch a couple
- 12:55Speaker 5: of years where his his midy was elite.
- 12:58Speaker 1: And Russ too.
- 12:59Speaker 5: I think Russ had a yeah, crazy hard stop and
- 13:06Speaker 5: I think that's what separated those two guys from the pack.
- 13:09Speaker 5: I think those years when they have when you have
- 13:10Speaker 5: the midwan shot going like that, when you can get
- 13:12Speaker 5: to the basket as easily as those two guys could and.
- 13:16Speaker 4: D Rolls floater that floaters, Yeah, you think d Rose
- 13:20Speaker 4: floater fucking with Tony Parker's Tony Parker is the best
- 13:24Speaker 4: guard finisher and it'll be history.
- 13:27Speaker 1: He never missed.
- 13:29Speaker 4: If you go watch over reals, I don't want to
- 13:31Speaker 4: have you off over over Kyrie.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Bro go look at Tony sixty. I end up pain.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I just as a guard is crazy. And you know,
- 13:42Speaker 2: Kyrie is my first player of all time. I think
- 13:44Speaker 2: would make it different with TP is because you know
- 13:46Speaker 2: Kyrie is finishing around the rim. Tony was hitting him
- 13:49Speaker 2: like fourteen foot floaters, bro off half spins.
- 13:52Speaker 1: That's a shock. That's what I mentioned.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Tony Parker couldn't shoot well. I'm like he eventually grew
- 13:58Speaker 2: and have a jumper. Kyrie could shoot, So him getting
- 14:01Speaker 2: to the basket is a little easier because you gotta
- 14:03Speaker 2: respect this three ball. He got a total media all
- 14:06Speaker 2: that you're saying you bag up off Tony Parker like
- 14:08Speaker 2: he was. He's still getting to the basket making layup.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Man, do you guys remember the finals in San Antonio
- 14:14Speaker 5: where he had that crazy layup that like no business
- 14:18Speaker 5: you have, No one probably an NBA history can make
- 14:20Speaker 5: the layup that.
- 14:21Speaker 1: He made for sure around the paint. He never missed layups.
- 14:31Speaker 4: I got a question, though, what's show Since you've been
- 14:33Speaker 4: doing this at a high level, what's your favorite.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Trade so far? Favorite trade?
- 14:39Speaker 2: She was like, damn, that team really won. And I'm
- 14:42Speaker 2: a piggyback on that too. Where you where you got
- 14:45Speaker 2: to school, where you broke it? Man, that's tough.
- 14:49Speaker 1: It's a lot. There's a lot. There's a lot. You
- 14:53Speaker 1: could just say it random, there's a lot. I mean,
- 14:56Speaker 1: it's just it's just being in the middle of.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Like like, I'll give you an example, like when when
- 15:04Speaker 3: Many traded Jimmy to Philly. That was nuts and and
- 15:08Speaker 3: I remember I think you guys were in Sacramento.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Where we was at.
- 15:14Speaker 5: You guys were in sack and I believe you guys
- 15:17Speaker 5: obviously lost that game, not because of you, because.
- 15:27Speaker 2: It was me.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It definitely was.
- 15:30Speaker 3: The problems were way deeper than let's. But I remember,
- 15:37Speaker 3: I remember I was I'll say the story.
- 15:40Speaker 5: So, I live in the suburbs of Chicago, right, I've
- 15:43Speaker 5: never moved to the city. But I was looking at
- 15:45Speaker 5: an apartment in the city and we were going through
- 15:49Speaker 5: the tour of the apartment and I get a text
- 15:54Speaker 5: saying Jimmy is about to get traded to fill to Philadelphia.
- 15:57Speaker 5: It's it's close, and I think you guys have just
- 16:00Speaker 5: lost the night before in sack and like, you know
- 16:04Speaker 5: this is this would lets you know that, like you
- 16:06Speaker 5: could be anywhere any given moment. So I'm on this
- 16:08Speaker 5: apartment tour. I looked down on my phone and I left.
- 16:12Speaker 5: I left the tour like I never went back. I
- 16:15Speaker 5: never I never bought that apart just bad omen. You know,
- 16:17Speaker 5: you get used. I have to leave the tour. You
- 16:19Speaker 5: can't go back. So I remember I left that, and
- 16:23Speaker 5: then you see the whole terms and I feel like
- 16:26Speaker 5: that's all. That's also a major what if around the
- 16:29Speaker 5: around then. But you have to say, because that team
- 16:31Speaker 5: in Philly, I mean they had Ben, they had Jimmy,
- 16:34Speaker 5: they had they had him Embiid, Tobias, Jimmy, and then
- 16:39Speaker 5: later in the year they traded for Tobias. So their
- 16:42Speaker 5: group man coming off the bench, TJ McConnell coming off
- 16:48Speaker 5: the bench, off the bench. But you know, I don't
- 16:56Speaker 5: Maybe maybe it's just because I think of Jeff, you know,
- 16:59Speaker 5: that's the only one that comes in my mind.
- 17:00Speaker 2: But no, I remember we was on the plane when
- 17:03Speaker 2: it happened, and Jimmy, We're all on the plane, So
- 17:05Speaker 2: imagine imagine getting traded while you're on the plane.
- 17:09Speaker 1: But we in back to Manute. You guys wanted to
- 17:11Speaker 1: be back to Minnesota.
- 17:12Speaker 2: So we had like a three hour flight and they
- 17:14Speaker 2: tell you at the beginning of the flight, so we
- 17:16Speaker 2: all on the plane like.
- 17:19Speaker 1: You know, I'm a jerk.
- 17:20Speaker 2: So I'm like, we ain't trade for they, Like we
- 17:22Speaker 2: got Robert Covington and Dario What.
- 17:24Speaker 1: The fun y'all traded Jimmy for them? Like, no, disrespected Dar.
- 17:32Speaker 1: But I was like, y'all playing two great pros. By
- 17:35Speaker 1: the way, I love both of.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Them, Jimmy Butler. I mean, that's what we're doing. I
- 17:44Speaker 3: know that's your guy.
- 17:45Speaker 2: But I'm like, y'all sabotaging me. Bro, Minnesota already hate me.
- 17:49Speaker 2: We're best player, Bro, Like double look. I was like,
- 17:59Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, y I can know what y'all traded.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Then for all the people we could have traded facts,
- 18:04Speaker 2: she should have got a legit star for present.
- 18:07Speaker 5: So that's what I think about when I think about,
- 18:08Speaker 5: like I think about where I am, you know, like
- 18:11Speaker 5: like if I have to leave a situation, if I'm
- 18:13Speaker 5: like on a family trip in the summer, like the
- 18:15Speaker 5: there have been times. I mean I'll be like my
- 18:19Speaker 5: family will take like a quick trip, like it's like
- 18:22Speaker 5: the Grand Canes or something in August, you know, August, August, September.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Usually the times when you played in legal, you try
- 18:27Speaker 3: to get away right before Labor Day or into Labor Day.
- 18:31Speaker 5: And I remember once I was at the Grand Canes
- 18:33Speaker 5: and I get a text, you know, the John Wall
- 18:36Speaker 5: he was going to sign an extension or something with Washington,
- 18:38Speaker 5: my major extension.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I mean I left.
- 18:41Speaker 5: There was like a library you know, you know, you
- 18:43Speaker 5: know in those mountains, they don't have any connection. You
- 18:45Speaker 5: have to go to the library with spotty Wi Fi connections.
- 18:49Speaker 5: I remember I left. I went to this library to
- 18:52Speaker 5: the little shuttle. Fifteen minute shuttle went there. That's that's
- 18:55Speaker 5: that's my dedication.
- 18:56Speaker 1: You know, you guys have to be in the lab.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I have to be in my lab. Watchoo those you
- 19:01Speaker 1: a little sneaky bro.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you've been dropping the bombs like one a wake
- 19:05Speaker 2: up up with I would have had it. I would
- 19:07Speaker 2: have to miss that one. I got John Wall in
- 19:09Speaker 2: the morning. Man, we know he's staying on.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'll give you, I'll give you a sleep one.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Uh So remember when Kawhi Lenon got traded to Toronto.
- 19:17Speaker 5: That broke it like two three in the morning. The
- 19:19Speaker 5: crazy part is it was like one thirty in the morning.
- 19:23Speaker 5: I was done on my couch. I think I woke
- 19:25Speaker 5: up like maybe wrong two and I saw my phone
- 19:28Speaker 5: and I you know, it.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Was about the trade and I look on Twitter.
- 19:33Speaker 5: It wasn't out. I was stunned. I was stunned, you know,
- 19:37Speaker 5: thirty minutes. Yeah, I'm like, I could have missed it.
- 19:41Speaker 5: I could have been you know, so you never know
- 19:43Speaker 5: where you are. So that's the thing that comes out
- 19:45Speaker 5: to me is like you name a trade, you know,
- 19:47Speaker 5: hopefully I've broken, you know, if I've been on it,
- 19:50Speaker 5: I usually know where I.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Am, you know when it happens, especially there's a good
- 19:53Speaker 3: story behind.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Now I got to ask you this question, how do
- 19:55Speaker 2: you feel about people complaining about and that kind of
- 19:58Speaker 2: like tapered it off this last year about the draft
- 20:01Speaker 2: announcements when there's like don't tweet before the pick actually shows.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'm just like, you know, that's their job, right, Yeah,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I mean for sure.
- 20:09Speaker 5: For sure, Like if I have information, if I have
- 20:11Speaker 5: the ability to get the information, I'm gonna do what
- 20:13Speaker 5: I can also I have a live show as well
- 20:16Speaker 5: that I'm doing on my own that streams on Twitter
- 20:19Speaker 5: that you know, it's it's updating live like we like
- 20:23Speaker 5: on Stadium. We do live updates of you know, so
- 20:27Speaker 5: we're basing off whatever I'm tweeting, not really what's what's
- 20:31Speaker 5: on air per Se or what's going on at Barclays.
- 20:34Speaker 5: So all I can do. All I do is focus
- 20:37Speaker 5: on on the information I get. You know, it's like
- 20:39Speaker 5: we're having we're kind of the ones to tell the draft.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I wish I would have did that when I was
- 20:44Speaker 2: coming out well because I I was sweating, Like I
- 20:50Speaker 2: wish I would have got a tweet like yeah they
- 20:51Speaker 2: figure you next a lot easier for me because man,
- 20:55Speaker 2: I was going through it on my draft night, but
- 20:57Speaker 2: I wanted to. I was gonna talk about the trade
- 20:59Speaker 2: that I think was the most equal trade ever.
- 21:02Speaker 1: It was the Tyresse Halliburton. Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that was like perfect for both teams.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I don't think it's ever been a trade as equal.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I would say, like when I think about it, like
- 21:16Speaker 2: they both got two superstars, I would say, all star superstars.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Whatever Pacers needed Tyresse, and I think that might be
- 21:25Speaker 2: the most even trade NBA history. I man that, I agree,
- 21:30Speaker 2: it's definitely up there. But science the Sacramento Kings for
- 21:33Speaker 2: giving us Tyres Haliburton.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I still appreciate you all.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Y'all neared it to my heart forgiving us Achise win
- 21:38Speaker 2: guard because we did not have one.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Both teams won with that for sure.
- 21:42Speaker 5: The Kings need I think the King needed a big man,
- 21:45Speaker 5: so so Darren could just be the guy. I think
- 21:47Speaker 5: anytime you have a player's town is Tyresse, you you
- 21:50Speaker 5: kind of have to decide, like you are we going
- 21:52Speaker 5: to give the keys to Deann, We're going to give
- 21:54Speaker 5: the keys to Tyresse. They went all in with darn
- 21:57Speaker 5: and then you get an All star big I mean
- 21:58Speaker 5: Someoness's numbers this year. He probably he should have been
- 22:01Speaker 5: an All Star somehow some way, like you got.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Both of them, Fox should have been one.
- 22:07Speaker 2: It's second, I mean, Sacramento is that a bad market
- 22:10Speaker 2: where was obviously it's a small market team, but people
- 22:12Speaker 2: not seeing them Enough's kind of like the tight Young
- 22:13Speaker 2: effector where you're not watching them enough to really see
- 22:15Speaker 2: that these numbers are actually like them getting buckets, not
- 22:18Speaker 2: just numbers.
- 22:19Speaker 5: I think possibly that but I mean there have been
- 22:22Speaker 5: times this year where they've struggled too, like to of
- 22:24Speaker 5: course they I mean, I think record wise, they're right
- 22:26Speaker 5: on paces last season. I think there's you you expected
- 22:29Speaker 5: them maybe to take another step. But they've also had
- 22:31Speaker 5: injuries Deep Fox miss a little bit of time. Yeah,
- 22:34Speaker 5: I think the struggles helped as far as that. But
- 22:37Speaker 5: I mean, someone's numbers are nuts and Dan I know
- 22:40Speaker 5: Daran's gone through a little bit of h struggle as
- 22:42Speaker 5: well the last fifteen games. I'm not worried about him
- 22:44Speaker 5: come playoff time when we saw him last year, who
- 22:46Speaker 5: forms a fractured finger or whatever.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Like he's he's a he's a beast. But no, I
- 22:51Speaker 1: mean Sacramento.
- 22:52Speaker 5: I went there actually for Game one against the Warriors,
- 22:55Speaker 5: their first playoff game, and whatever seventeen years that place
- 22:59Speaker 5: that might have been in the best environment of a
- 23:01Speaker 5: non finals game I've ever been to, damn as far
- 23:06Speaker 5: as how rowdy that crowd was, how much anticipation there was,
- 23:09Speaker 5: how hype, how hype everyone was going in and there
- 23:12Speaker 5: they Arena's beautiful. So I think Sacramento's building. Do they
- 23:16Speaker 5: need a third piece though?
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yes? Who? Though? Who would you see in Sacramento.
- 23:22Speaker 3: They went after Pascal si out, they went after O.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They missed on both.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Do you try to go get Kyle Kuzman in the summer,
- 23:29Speaker 3: who would you?
- 23:31Speaker 2: I don't think Kyle put them over the hip because
- 23:33Speaker 2: I think Keegan Murray developed to be as a suitor
- 23:36Speaker 2: as would be for that team.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Is nice and he's like, he looks like he's soft spoken,
- 23:42Speaker 5: like you gotta sometimes the coach might have to push
- 23:45Speaker 5: him a little bit too.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I don't know what they need. Uh, they could use
- 23:50Speaker 1: a wing, but you got to get rid of a
- 23:52Speaker 1: couple of pieces.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Well you get what Harrison's coming off the books soon,
- 23:56Speaker 3: He's got two years after this.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah, they make get rid of him. I'm trying
- 24:01Speaker 2: to think who they could get. That's the That's the
- 24:03Speaker 2: one position that's even for the Pacers. It's that one
- 24:05Speaker 2: that that elite three is the final piece in every
- 24:09Speaker 2: real like big three situation in the league because you
- 24:11Speaker 2: got a lot of elite point guards. If you're lucky
- 24:13Speaker 2: to have a good bit, you gotta have that elite
- 24:15Speaker 2: win to compete.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I used to want them to have Zach Lavigne, but
- 24:20Speaker 1: I just don't think Zach. I don't know Zach. Zach
- 24:25Speaker 1: needs to get you know, healthy.
- 24:27Speaker 3: That's hopefully hope they can get healthy the next season.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Next season obviously got to be a bounce back here
- 24:34Speaker 5: and Lonzo, you know, making making progress. I think I
- 24:39Speaker 5: think Lonzo Ball is very much hoping and aiming to
- 24:43Speaker 5: come back next he does.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Man, that's one of the few guys like we love
- 24:47Speaker 2: like he's one of the eras that we saw, like Lamella,
- 24:50Speaker 2: like Lonzo was always cold.
- 24:51Speaker 1: He went through some screwiny with the likers, you know
- 24:53Speaker 1: how that goes.
- 24:53Speaker 2: But he's one of the people like we want to
- 24:55Speaker 2: see Lonzo because he played the right way.
- 24:57Speaker 1: He's cool.
- 24:58Speaker 5: I got something. I'll say something some new. I mean,
- 25:00Speaker 5: he's back on the court. He's that's what's not to
- 25:03Speaker 5: you know. It takes a while to really but he's
- 25:05Speaker 5: doing some spot shooting, a little bit of light like jogging,
- 25:08Speaker 5: light walking, like light running. But that's not stuff that
- 25:11Speaker 5: he was clear to do, ready to do. On his
- 25:14Speaker 5: last couple starting to stop, he would get going and
- 25:17Speaker 5: then he would get pain again.
- 25:19Speaker 1: But now he's able to at.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Least get to the point where he's on the court.
- 25:22Speaker 3: You're doing a little bit of jog and a little
- 25:24Speaker 3: bit of moving around, and he wasn't there a year ago.
- 25:27Speaker 1: He couldn't.
- 25:27Speaker 3: He couldn't physically, So now he's back to that point.
- 25:30Speaker 1: He was going to take off like Brandon Ingram. I
- 25:32Speaker 1: think if he didn't have those injuries.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, what about like Chicago? Speaking of the Bulls, what
- 25:37Speaker 2: do you think they do it tomorrow? You think they're
- 25:39Speaker 2: going to extend him?
- 25:40Speaker 5: That's I think they've discussed an extension. And I think
- 25:43Speaker 5: now the thing with the Bulls is is being competitive
- 25:48Speaker 5: is important to that organization, to that franchise. And you
- 25:51Speaker 5: have to say since since you know, the since they
- 25:54Speaker 5: went on all in with Kobe White, since Zach Lavine's
- 25:57Speaker 5: been hurt, I mean I think they're said six seven
- 26:02Speaker 5: games over five hundred, like, they've played better. And the
- 26:05Speaker 5: thing last season, some of these games they weren't even in,
- 26:08Speaker 5: they were blown out. Now they're they're competing on a
- 26:11Speaker 5: night to night basis, and you have to give Damar
- 26:13Speaker 5: a lot of credit for that, which a lot of
- 26:15Speaker 5: credit for that.
- 26:15Speaker 3: And Kobe White. I mean, I don't know who's your
- 26:17Speaker 3: guys most improved.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Definitely White, Obby White. That's not a bad call.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I'm like Brow went for twelve to twenty starter playing
- 26:28Speaker 2: well and.
- 26:29Speaker 3: It's come out of and it was like once Zach
- 26:31Speaker 3: got hurt, you saw his his numbers win Scott.
- 26:34Speaker 2: You know, it's crazy because like you said, he had
- 26:35Speaker 2: a shaky moment in the beginning of the season, he
- 26:38Speaker 2: got the opportunity and just really been going crazy.
- 26:40Speaker 1: That chemistry is really hot too, you can tell.
- 26:42Speaker 5: And I think that's what makes what makes people think like,
- 26:47Speaker 5: like you know, but again, Chicago fans, I'm sure like
- 26:49Speaker 5: blow it up, blow it up. But it's like, if
- 26:52Speaker 5: you're not going to get real offers for demor grows,
- 26:54Speaker 5: you know, real offers, you can probably trade damorrow. But
- 26:57Speaker 5: like what do you like you said with the with
- 26:58Speaker 5: the other trade, that's like, what are you trading at
- 27:01Speaker 5: DeMar DRO's in four? Is that going to keep you competitive?
- 27:04Speaker 5: Is that going to keep you in it so you
- 27:06Speaker 5: can at least compete for at a high level. And
- 27:08Speaker 5: no one was really giving up good draft picks for that.
- 27:11Speaker 5: It's going to be a free agent the summer. So
- 27:13Speaker 5: my sense is they're gonna go into the offseason. We'll
- 27:15Speaker 5: see what happens the rest of the year, but I
- 27:17Speaker 5: think they're gonna want to see.
- 27:18Speaker 2: What they can get done with Tomorrow's long term desires
- 27:21Speaker 2: to be on a contender or a team contender for sure.
- 27:24Speaker 1: What you've been in the league a little bit. Facts.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I don't know where I want to see him play.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I don't want to be in with the Lakers. No,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I don't want.
- 27:32Speaker 1: To go to the Lakers team like Miami.
- 27:35Speaker 2: It'ld be fired with my perfect Yeah, that's perfect. They
- 27:39Speaker 2: won't shoot No.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Three.
- 27:43Speaker 4: That's kind of hard though, because do you I don't know, y'all,
- 27:46Speaker 4: because what about Tyler Hero too, He's gonna play.
- 27:49Speaker 2: But Tyler Hero one of those guys he's playing well,
- 27:52Speaker 2: actually being.
- 27:54Speaker 1: But you think all three of them will come mess? Yeah.
- 27:59Speaker 2: One thing about Jimmy know how to make everybody better
- 28:02Speaker 2: and he don't mind taking a back row.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And when he got to beat a dog, he can
- 28:05Speaker 1: beat a dog. And to mar the same way.
- 28:08Speaker 2: When he was in San Antonio, he was literally like
- 28:10Speaker 2: a point forward almost he did every door.
- 28:12Speaker 1: He was doing everything. Tyler herod get buckets. As you said,
- 28:17Speaker 1: Kobe White though, one of my choices for busta.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Pro Jayla Williams gotta put him up there, like, Okay, See,
- 28:24Speaker 3: this is the second season, Yeah, second season, and he's
- 28:27Speaker 3: going crazy insane, I mean crazy, he's balling. I saw
- 28:30Speaker 3: him yesterday. Actually it was crazy. I interviewed him in
- 28:33Speaker 3: the summer. We were talking about fashion. That was the
- 28:35Speaker 3: crux of the interview, and I remember we all looked
- 28:37Speaker 3: at each other. I think, if we do an interview now,
- 28:39Speaker 3: the topics changed.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, Are you going to be an All Star
- 28:43Speaker 2: next year? That's what the topic going to be, And what's.
- 28:45Speaker 1: So far by? Okay?
- 28:46Speaker 2: See, and you look at other places who like even
- 28:49Speaker 2: so much with Cleveland last year, like rebuilding fast in
- 28:52Speaker 2: the NBA is like it's not waiting no more. That's
- 28:55Speaker 2: like even with the Pacers, like us going to get
- 28:57Speaker 2: Pascal was just like, oh we really actually found want
- 29:00Speaker 2: to trend now because nowadays them young teams, they're not
- 29:02Speaker 2: young long. You get your pieces that you can ride
- 29:04Speaker 2: with and you figure out how to feel the slot
- 29:06Speaker 2: and you can have a rebuild year in eighteen months.
- 29:10Speaker 2: How is that like now with the drafting process, is
- 29:13Speaker 2: that like is that weighing in on how draft picks
- 29:15Speaker 2: are value now?
- 29:16Speaker 1: The way that people are rebuilding.
- 29:17Speaker 5: I mean it's just now you either are going to
- 29:21Speaker 5: hoard your draft picks or you're going to use them,
- 29:23Speaker 5: right Like, so Indy, Indie went all in, you know,
- 29:26Speaker 5: they didn't. The thing with Indie is they didn't value
- 29:28Speaker 5: this year's draft. That's that's the crux of it. So
- 29:31Speaker 5: they didn't value as high as to be like, we'll
- 29:33Speaker 5: move these three first year to go.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Get Pascal Siakam. And they did it.
- 29:38Speaker 5: She was like, okay, see, I mean, they got one
- 29:40Speaker 5: of the more talented young rosters.
- 29:42Speaker 1: But they also have, like.
- 29:46Speaker 5: I want to say, they got ten first round picks.
- 29:49Speaker 5: They can trade, a bunch of seconds obviously, a bunch
- 29:52Speaker 5: of swaps they can trade. And that's why they made
- 29:56Speaker 5: a trade with Dallas on deadline day that went overlooked.
- 30:00Speaker 5: They gave up their twenty one of their twenty twenty
- 30:03Speaker 5: four first roup. I think they had a couple one
- 30:04Speaker 5: of their twenty twenty four first round picks to Dallas
- 30:07Speaker 5: for a future pick swap. They didn't even get a
- 30:09Speaker 5: future first they get, they get pick swap, unprotected pick swap.
- 30:13Speaker 5: So that's Sam Presty being like, listen, we got we
- 30:16Speaker 5: got enough young players here, We're gonna give up one
- 30:19Speaker 5: of our first round picks coming up soon. Because it's like,
- 30:21Speaker 5: what are you gonna do with one more rookie scale
- 30:23Speaker 5: guy on this roster? So give up that pick and
- 30:25Speaker 5: then we'll get We'll see if we want to swap
- 30:28Speaker 5: like four or five years from now, three years from
- 30:30Speaker 5: if we need that. So I think what they're building
- 30:33Speaker 5: right now is you got to give them credit. And
- 30:36Speaker 5: that the deadline they get Gordon Hayward. And I think
- 30:38Speaker 5: the Gordon Hayward pickup is good because he's a vet.
- 30:41Speaker 5: He plays the right way. But let's say you have
- 30:43Speaker 5: a guy with you know, as an injury, but there's
- 30:47Speaker 5: foule trouble down the stretch of a playoff game, like
- 30:49Speaker 5: who better to throw in there? Or someone might be struggling.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Who better to throw in there than Gordon Hayward reable
- 30:54Speaker 5: that in that type of moment.
- 30:55Speaker 2: And he literally is like perfect fit for their team
- 30:58Speaker 2: because he played just how they play. They all play
- 31:00Speaker 2: with six eight wings, like Jalen Williams plays the four,
- 31:05Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Gordon hayrids the same size
- 31:07Speaker 2: as him. They all like play the positionless basketball basically
- 31:11Speaker 2: because ship he is center, but they really pg he
- 31:16Speaker 2: a small forward. Really you can shoot, dribble all that.
- 31:20Speaker 2: So their team is just like a perfect play. They
- 31:22Speaker 2: play like I play on two kal. Everybody can pass,
- 31:25Speaker 2: everybody can shoot, everybody can dribble the ball. So now
- 31:33Speaker 2: another interesting situation we got moder for next year. The Pelicans.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I can't believe it, but they're really thinking that they
- 31:39Speaker 2: have to choose between brandon Ingram and Zion next year.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I think, so, why can't you play them both? You
- 31:47Speaker 1: can afford it? Do they? But the Repelicans? Do you
- 31:50Speaker 1: think they? Uh?
- 31:52Speaker 2: Because I am right, his contract can be voided now right,
- 31:56Speaker 2: I mean that'll be crying.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I mean, he's he's playing, He's played.
- 32:02Speaker 1: I was just saying, like they got him off the Internet.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That's how it was. They were trying to scare him off.
- 32:08Speaker 1: I got off in there. Everything cool. Freaky, he gonna
- 32:11Speaker 1: meet those white requirements.
- 32:13Speaker 3: You call him freaky zkys at the nickname.
- 32:15Speaker 1: No, he ain't earned it. He ain't earned the full name.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just freak for that freaky you get.
- 32:23Speaker 1: A real nickname. But boy, but they gotta.
- 32:28Speaker 5: What do you think about their team, Jeff? Do you
- 32:30Speaker 5: think that with those two guys and c J. Like
- 32:35Speaker 5: they they called them the Johnson Murray Treate deadline. They
- 32:38Speaker 5: looked at different packages, mostly around you know, the young
- 32:41Speaker 5: player that they were looking at, Diyson Daniels potentially, you know,
- 32:44Speaker 5: Atlanta wanted to Herb Jones and that was that was,
- 32:46Speaker 5: that was Jones, and Orleans didn't want to move her
- 32:50Speaker 5: Herb Jones from what I was and so and that's
- 32:54Speaker 5: what It's such a fine line because New Orleans is like, listen,
- 32:57Speaker 5: if we can bring into Johnason Murray while keeping on corps,
- 33:00Speaker 5: of course we want to do that. But the moment
- 33:02Speaker 5: you have to give up a member of your core,
- 33:03Speaker 5: it's like is it worth it? Does it really make
- 33:06Speaker 5: us better than to push over the time? Would you
- 33:07Speaker 5: have given up Herb Jones for the joy?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 33:10Speaker 2: I think because Jonte is still young and he a
- 33:13Speaker 2: two way player. He plays hard, but I get I
- 33:15Speaker 2: gave him. It gives him another ball handler because I
- 33:17Speaker 2: know c j can play point, but he's not a
- 33:19Speaker 2: natural point guard. Johntay, he's the two way to UH
- 33:24Speaker 2: combo guard. But I just give him another ball handler.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Herb Jones is a defender shooter. He's a defender first.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think.
- 33:36Speaker 2: You can get another one of him, like another Yeah,
- 33:39Speaker 2: I think you can. I think you can find another
- 33:41Speaker 2: long defender. I mean, Miami do it every year.
- 33:46Speaker 1: You got to give.
- 33:48Speaker 2: So I think you can find a guy like him.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I'm not saying he's not a valuable player. He definitely
- 33:53Speaker 2: is the reason that my Hawks want him. But you
- 33:55Speaker 2: can find another guy. They don't do that. Bro, we rebuilding.
- 34:01Speaker 2: But yeah, I was about to trade trade Young though.
- 34:04Speaker 3: We gotta we gotta make we got a club five
- 34:07Speaker 3: twenty predictions.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Nah, I made that up.
- 34:08Speaker 2: But the probably he probably want to go though. I'm
- 34:14Speaker 2: sure he wants to go to San Antonio. Oh that's
- 34:17Speaker 2: a bro.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I was to play with.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Wimby is cool, will be but going with from from
- 34:26Speaker 2: Atlanta to San Antonio is from Oklahoma too.
- 34:30Speaker 1: You didn't play for Quinn, did you? Yeah? I played
- 34:32Speaker 1: with Quinn my first his first year in Atlanta. In Atlanta.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Do you think Quinn wants to rebuild?
- 34:38Speaker 2: Now?
- 34:39Speaker 1: Quinn like to win, That's what I'm saying. He likes
- 34:42Speaker 1: to win.
- 34:42Speaker 5: So if you're Quinn's, if you're Quinn, you know, from
- 34:45Speaker 5: everything I hear, the Quinn trade relationship has been really good.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think you know, it's two things.
- 34:50Speaker 5: I think Trey understands he needs Quinn to win, and
- 34:53Speaker 5: Quinn knows he needs Trey if you're going to try
- 34:55Speaker 5: to win in Atlanta. And that relationship has been good.
- 34:59Speaker 5: So what do you do if you're in Atlanta?
- 35:01Speaker 1: You just can't.
- 35:02Speaker 2: It's nobody on the market that can like over yeah,
- 35:07Speaker 2: like take a lenover, like over the Hump. You got
- 35:09Speaker 2: to have a certain type of player to play with Trump.
- 35:11Speaker 2: You know, you need a live threat, or you need
- 35:13Speaker 2: a big that has the ability to stretch the floor,
- 35:16Speaker 2: and we haven't been able to get that in Atlanta.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Like I love our bigs, I love oh Jalen. Everybody's cool.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Like it's just not a great fit right now though,
- 35:26Speaker 2: Like Dee Hunt really doesn't play anymore.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Dre like he need to play.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say you need to play more, but
- 35:33Speaker 2: he don't play as much as he used to, So
- 35:35Speaker 2: I'm sure he's a trade piece, but this contract is
- 35:37Speaker 2: pretty steep. The John tay Tray, they're both great guards,
- 35:43Speaker 2: but I don't know if they fit together. I don't
- 35:45Speaker 2: know if that's Trey needs the ball like he's Luca,
- 35:49Speaker 2: he's James Harden.
- 35:50Speaker 1: He needs the ball.
- 35:51Speaker 2: So you got to put guys around who can make shots,
- 35:53Speaker 2: shot up, create their own shot here and there. But
- 35:56Speaker 2: Trey gonna credit for him and the John Tey a
- 35:59Speaker 2: guy he's still in twenty points a game, but he's
- 36:01Speaker 2: a guy that I do this too. I don't think
- 36:04Speaker 2: it's a great fit. Speaking you talking about one of
- 36:06Speaker 2: the best trades in history. I feel like that Luca
- 36:08Speaker 2: and Trade trade is still I know, obviously Luca's here
- 36:12Speaker 2: even though trades here, but that's still one of the
- 36:14Speaker 2: better trades because both teams got a franchise player, but
- 36:18Speaker 2: you did get.
- 36:18Speaker 1: A generational talent in Luca. I understand.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I know it's different, but it's still like they didn't
- 36:23Speaker 2: get a person who was a slope.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Trey Young is r EBA cowper players Young co. They've
- 36:29Speaker 3: both been to the conference finals though, no, that's a fact.
- 36:31Speaker 3: That's a fact, both of them. We played Trey Young
- 36:34Speaker 3: in the conference finals.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you had I have my my bright spot in that.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Seriously, he said, what the fuck? You can't even shoot
- 36:42Speaker 1: no more? Damn? What do you think about Milwaukee right now?
- 36:49Speaker 2: Deer for the deer, my bucks, the bucks, my bucks.
- 36:54Speaker 2: They are in a rough patch right now. I think
- 36:55Speaker 2: it's up and down. They're still trying to find themself.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I think once a Dame man Johannes get on the
- 37:00Speaker 2: same page, like once the doc figures out, they want.
- 37:03Speaker 1: To work together. But I feel like they have to
- 37:05Speaker 1: play separately, you know how, Like, yeah, they think they.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Have to let Dame have his moment with the team
- 37:13Speaker 2: and then Jannice have his moment, and then once they
- 37:15Speaker 2: do that, I think they'll find a good groove because Dames, yeah,
- 37:18Speaker 2: like because Dame so talented offensively, yeah, and Janna so
- 37:23Speaker 2: talented offensively. I think if you don't let them both
- 37:26Speaker 2: have their moments where they're the guy, yeah, it ain't
- 37:28Speaker 2: gonna work for sure. Free te nasty? Who's that T nasty?
- 37:33Speaker 2: You gotta have T nasty? Bro, the nastiest, He's he's
- 37:38Speaker 2: a missing link. Bro oh yeah, he him gluous crazy.
- 37:43Speaker 2: He seems like a great teammate though no, he's an
- 37:47Speaker 2: assistant coach for real. Though no, I did serious, bro,
- 37:50Speaker 2: he was. He used to really like pull me to
- 37:53Speaker 2: the side before the games and tell me what I
- 37:55Speaker 2: need to do. Did you listen to be like, Bro,
- 37:57Speaker 2: I'm not about to play until that's a Drew or
- 38:01Speaker 2: somebody like he was like, no, no, when you get in
- 38:03Speaker 2: you need to do that. Na, Bro, he talks with
- 38:06Speaker 2: the wrong dude. Bro, I'm on this group project like you.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I's got no word he did.
- 38:16Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Now I know that this was rumor, but Lebron possibly
- 38:21Speaker 2: being a warrior them trying to make that happen. It's
- 38:24Speaker 2: still crazy. But I still would love for that to happen,
- 38:27Speaker 2: one way or nothing. I would love to see a
- 38:28Speaker 2: season of Lebron at to play with stuff. It would
- 38:32Speaker 2: ruin the NBA and I'm here for I mean, that
- 38:35Speaker 2: would be crazy.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I don't I don't think there was any any chance
- 38:39Speaker 5: Lebron James was leaving the leaders at all at the deadline,
- 38:43Speaker 5: no matter who called, right, But like, this summer is
- 38:46Speaker 5: gonna be interesting. He has a playoffs and at the
- 38:48Speaker 5: end of the day, his futures is in question just
- 38:51Speaker 5: for simple fact he's got a playoffs.
- 38:53Speaker 3: We don't know what he's gonna do. Where does Bronnie
- 38:55Speaker 3: end up?
- 38:55Speaker 1: Does?
- 38:55Speaker 3: Brownie declared that he get in the draft? Who drafts him?
- 38:58Speaker 5: Like, there's all these dominalds have to fall before his playoffs.
- 39:01Speaker 5: I believe the playoffs and date is after the draft,
- 39:04Speaker 5: so We're gonna a lot of questions gonna be answered
- 39:06Speaker 5: if if Bronnie comes out's in the draft, We're gonna
- 39:11Speaker 5: like a lot of questions like let's say Miami or
- 39:15Speaker 5: whoever drafts Bronnie.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Right then then that'd be crazy.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Well no, you know, like, does you know Lebron has
- 39:24Speaker 5: said he wants to play with Bronnie, But does that
- 39:26Speaker 5: mean next season? Does that mean after Brownie's rookie year? Like,
- 39:29Speaker 5: there are a lot of questions that I think Lebron
- 39:32Speaker 5: still has to figure out and and spend second half
- 39:36Speaker 5: of the season. We still don't know if all that
- 39:38Speaker 5: team is gonna go. We still don't know what's gonna
- 39:40Speaker 5: happen with that team. Obviously they got Spencer to do.
- 39:43Speaker 5: When you other biout market, they didn't make any trades
- 39:45Speaker 5: of the deadline. That was basically their their trade. And
- 39:48Speaker 5: I think he's gonna be a good fit. Gave Vincent
- 39:50Speaker 5: trying to come back week of March, potentially second week
- 39:53Speaker 5: of March.
- 39:53Speaker 3: We'll see if he makes it back. But they got
- 39:55Speaker 3: to get healthy.
- 39:56Speaker 5: Jared Vanderbilt has to get back in the lineup for sure,
- 39:58Speaker 5: and if they get healthy, I mean this him as
- 40:00Speaker 5: a shot I think they get They got to the
- 40:02Speaker 5: Western conscience last year. As long as the coaching side
- 40:05Speaker 5: players on the same page, I think they have a shot.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I think Lebron booked that vacation a little bit
- 40:09Speaker 1: earlier this year. Yeah, but I.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Lebronni gets drafted to Cleveland and Lebron go back to Cleveland.
- 40:15Speaker 1: This is like a two K story, Like it's not real.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Cat that would be the most toxic relationship of all
- 40:23Speaker 1: get drafted to the Lakers, Bro, Yeah, they gonna draft him.
- 40:27Speaker 1: That's going back to your X twice. It's crazy. If
- 40:29Speaker 1: Lebron go back to Cleveland, that's insane.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Well three times it started there, left went back, he
- 40:35Speaker 3: went back twice.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, a lot of time, a lot of
- 40:39Speaker 1: time back on alone the NBA.
- 40:41Speaker 2: A man, we don't really miss Lebron because ain't nobody
- 40:44Speaker 2: else gonna be able to do this shit.
- 40:45Speaker 1: That he does.
- 40:46Speaker 2: It really like half everybody mind messed up for a
- 40:48Speaker 2: whole year just off allegation.
- 40:50Speaker 5: Who do you guys think are like the next names
- 40:53Speaker 5: after Lebron's stephars.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Broy He's one of the guys.
- 40:59Speaker 2: I think Shay, I think for sure, a little mellow
- 41:04Speaker 2: m got Charlotte, though, I don't know.
- 41:08Speaker 1: I think he's a great player of personalities with the game.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Bro the game has changed, but they're so bad in Charlotte,
- 41:14Speaker 2: Like you can't even appreciate his game because they're so bad.
- 41:18Speaker 5: I think for the first time in a while, Charlotte
- 41:20Speaker 5: actually picked a direction though, trading guys away, getting picks.
- 41:24Speaker 1: And mellow been so long. Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 41:28Speaker 1: They got Trey Mendo. I like that for them.
- 41:30Speaker 5: Yeah, he's playing really really well. Grant Williams the guy.
- 41:33Speaker 5: His value was low and he's played.
- 41:38Speaker 2: I know what he was doing because I played with Grant.
- 41:42Speaker 2: He's not a bad guy at all. He's just probably
- 41:44Speaker 2: just talking the whole time. He never shuts up, Like
- 41:48Speaker 2: the whole day he talks. He wakes up talking. He'd
- 41:50Speaker 2: be like Grant, I don't care, leave it alone. Grand
- 41:54Speaker 2: the first play in the DP for talking too much.
- 41:56Speaker 2: They put in on the report.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Literally, I see, I know.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Uh.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I think Luca and John gonna take over the league though,
- 42:06Speaker 1: that's one person. Like Joe's absence was felt this year.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I mean when he came back through six
- 42:14Speaker 3: and three, they were rolling. It was unfortunate. Man, it
- 42:18Speaker 3: is injury, but they cannot play without him.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Jaron Jackson is a totally different player without driving ran
- 42:24Speaker 4: the whole team. The whole team is he He's an
- 42:27Speaker 4: all star though, you know what I mean, It's kind
- 42:28Speaker 4: of like, damn, he really need your guy.
- 42:31Speaker 2: He's the hard beat of the team. He everything to
- 42:35Speaker 2: the team. But that's because his personality the team. I
- 42:39Speaker 2: think losing Dylan Brooks, even though they got my guy.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Marcus is a good player. He's been hurt too, But
- 42:45Speaker 2: Dylan Brooks was like.
- 42:47Speaker 1: No, you're right edge.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and it made him like almost like that Tony Allen,
- 42:52Speaker 2: Mike Conley z BO kind of team.
- 42:55Speaker 3: But you hope Smart gives you that once once once
- 42:57Speaker 3: the team is whole again.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's kind of different, you know, Like Smart
- 43:02Speaker 2: King he had that Boston lineage. Like Boston, they carried
- 43:06Speaker 2: themself a certain way. He walked in your bags, your
- 43:09Speaker 2: clothes nice. Then you get to this team with all
- 43:11Speaker 2: these young dudes they dancing.
- 43:13Speaker 1: That ain't Smart. Smart ain't dancing. He not doing all that.
- 43:16Speaker 2: He like a serious dude that you get with a
- 43:19Speaker 2: team a full of young guys dancing around. I don't know,
- 43:22Speaker 2: Dylan Brooks just fit that like Rocket or a good
- 43:26Speaker 2: team this year. You know they he brung that same
- 43:28Speaker 2: energy with them, a bunch of young guys. He he
- 43:31Speaker 2: just fit in bron I don't know. I don't think
- 43:33Speaker 2: they should have let him go, But I want to
- 43:35Speaker 2: ask you that question to reverse, Like, I mean, obviously
- 43:38Speaker 2: outside of Wimboo, you know how good he is.
- 43:39Speaker 1: How you feel about some of the young workers this year?
- 43:43Speaker 3: I mean check, you know he's going to be a
- 43:45Speaker 3: beast for years to come.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Elite. So who's your who's you guys? Kid? It's like.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Statistically it's I said this actually on there like last week.
- 43:58Speaker 5: I think I think it's only a matter of time
- 43:59Speaker 5: of he gets a quadruple double. I think it's only
- 44:01Speaker 5: a matter of time before he becomes the NBA league
- 44:03Speaker 5: history leader in quadruple doubles. I think it's four guys
- 44:07Speaker 5: with one quadruple doubles. He came five assists away from
- 44:10Speaker 5: doing it in like twenty nine minutes the other the
- 44:13Speaker 5: other the other game, Like, yeah, I think it's only
- 44:15Speaker 5: a matter of time once he starts playing thirty five
- 44:17Speaker 5: to forty minutes consistently, like he's gonna get one he's
- 44:20Speaker 5: in yet another one that we're gonna look up. He's
- 44:22Speaker 5: got like five to ten over his career. I mean,
- 44:24Speaker 5: he could literally do everything, get stuff the stat sheet. Chet,
- 44:27Speaker 5: you have to give him a lot of credit. And
- 44:29Speaker 5: then Brandon Miller, he's played really, really well.
- 44:31Speaker 1: He got a game.
- 44:32Speaker 3: He looks like a guy that can definitely be an
- 44:34Speaker 3: all NBA calibery.
- 44:35Speaker 5: Terry Rose opened the door for him, and he'd been killing. Yeah,
- 44:39Speaker 5: he's been cooking. I'm curious to see how schoo Henderson develoves.
- 44:42Speaker 5: Obviously point guard, Jeff you play point that's the probably
- 44:45Speaker 5: the toughest position mechanically, you know, to understand you're seeing
- 44:50Speaker 5: him make strides.
- 44:51Speaker 1: You know, one game, you know look really good, next
- 44:53Speaker 1: game the team will struggle. Is it also tough for
- 44:56Speaker 1: him not being on the team with some more bits? Yeah?
- 45:00Speaker 1: It got best, but need better day the year one rebuild. Yeah,
- 45:05Speaker 1: hating funny, hating funny. I'll be watching his tweet teaser
- 45:09Speaker 1: Larri's d NP snowstorm. That's crazy, that's fine, called off
- 45:13Speaker 1: an as far not really have you ever seen that one? No,
- 45:18Speaker 1: that was the first time I seen that. I'm like,
- 45:21Speaker 1: it's real.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I didn't think it was real, But that happened to
- 45:24Speaker 2: me in Atlanta. Actually, I take that back. I couldn't
- 45:27Speaker 2: get up there. I couldn't get down the hill or
